I got a few dreams that I had this year to speak about.
The first one was started as the common “running away from things that hurt me, then a bunch of people who support me come out and defend me, and an all out war breaks loose while I try to run and hide” kind of dream. Instead of those who were supporting me, they were the crazed cultists from The Pathless, who follow the Godslayer, but they were technically still on my side because GS and I are on friendly terms, but it turns out they were also trying to catch me (while also keeping the enemy away from me). They did eventually capture me, of course bringing me to GS, but I what I was not expecting was being at an alter. Godslayer was trying to marry me. Flattering as it was, I was not ready for marriage, and I found the situation was so funny that I woke up laughing.
(The Godslayer; picture does not do him justice with his domineering and intimidating presence)
Second dream, I was doing a sort of “rivalry war” with Messmer the Impaler, where technically we were both amicable with each other, but we were doing a legit war with each other because we thought it was fun and wanted to see who was better (relax, it’s just a dream; I do not condone such senseless violence just for the sake of fun). Eventually we went toe-to-toe, and something completely unexpected happened: Fucker the Impaler wanted to marry me. Again, flattered, not ready for marriage, and really funny, but I legit felt like I had to warm him about Godslayer, who also wanted my hand. He didn’t care, and I was like, “Honey, you got a big storm coming,” because motherfucking Godslayer is crazy and will kill on sight.
(Messmer the Impaler; picture does not show his silly pantsless twink legs)
Third and last dream, I was again surrounded by people who wanted to hurt me and those who wanted to help me, but those who wanted to help me started to go against me. This, of course, broke my heart and had me break down in my dreams, crying and heartache and all. One of the people that I was friends with, who I have not seen in a very long time, appeared and acted as my Knight in ~~Bloody~~ Shining Armor. That man was Stefano Valentini, and that fucker also decided it was about time to marry me. This was just getting ridiculous at this point, but I told him the same thing I told the other two: Flattered, not ready, this is funny, FUCKER YOU BETTER RUN because you have NO chance against the last two guys that wanted the same thing. Run as fast as your spaghetti-ass legs can carry you!
(Stefano Valentini; picture does not show how much of a horrific killer he is)
So now I’m literally in the, “Fuck, Marry, Kill” situation with these three freaks and I’m not only scared/curious on anyone else wanting my hand, but also what will happen when all of them (or most) are in the same dream.
A Quick Guide to Damian’s Furry/Feathered/Scaled Companions
LEFT: R:SOB #1 Cover RIGHT: R:SOB #6
GOLIATH THE BAT DRAGON
Introduced in: ROBIN: SON OF BATMAN (2015) #1
DAMIAN'S BABY AND BEASTY BESTIE!! On a mission during the Year of Blood, Damian kills the family of bat dragons guarding his objective. Goliath, despite being the youngest and last of his kind, forgives Damian. Goliath goes on to become one of Damian's most loyal companions, even featuring beside him in Batman Beyond (2016) #10, #11, #43-#47!
LEFT: B&R #13 RIGHT: B&R #4
TITUS THE DOG
Introduced in: BATMAN AND ROBIN (2011) #2
A Great Dane gifted to Damian from Bruce as an effort in fatherhood. Funny enough, Damian finds him a nuisance at first and briefly refers to him as "Dog". Titus is a good boy that follows Damian's every step, even joining Bruce on his mission to resurrect Damian!
LEFT: Batman Inc #1 RIGHT: Batman Inc #7
BAT-COW THE COW
Introduced in: BATMAN INCORPORATED (2012) #1
Bat-Cow, branded with a star signifying which cattle were contaminated, was saved from a slaughterhouse to run some tests (which they do find of a mind control variety). Damian declares himself a vegetarian, and calls her Bat-Cow! She also sorta has a running gag of literally standing in the face of danger to save the day.
LEFT: Batman Inc #6 RIGHT: Batman Inc #7
ALFRED THE CAT
Introduced in: BATMAN INCORPORATED (2012) #6
Considered a "hopeless case" by the animal shelter, Alfred gifts him to Damian. The cat is a bold lil guy, which Damian takes an immediate liking to, and names him Alfred (likely because tuxedo cat = butler lol). After hours of chicken, playtime, and scratches, Damian and Alfred become friends! He makes his first appearance alongside Damian’s first appearance as Batman in BATMAN (1940) #666
Introduced in: BATMAN LI'L GOTHAM (2012) #2 (Digital) #1 (Printed)
The Penguin unleashes an army of turkeys at the Gotham Thanksgiving parade which Damian turns into his own li'l turkey march by playing the trumpet. He ends up bringing one of them back for Thanksgiving dinner (as a friend), and Jerry becomes a fairly regular appearance in the world of Li'l Gotham!
*WIGGLES THE DRAGON
Introduced in: NIGHTWING (2016) #42
A sort of filler issue where Damian has been kidnapped for his blood by the "Crimson Kabuki" in Tokyo, and Dick goes through a series of boss battles to save him. The dragon's blood has been the group's main source of power, so it ends up teaming with the duo, and returns home with them.
Wiggles was originally named by a fan, "Shanootnoot" on Twitter!
*Goliath, Titus, Bat-Cow, and Alfred the cat have been Damian's main canon cast of furry companions, but SUPER-PETS SPECIAL: BITEDENTITY CRISIS (2024) may have just added Jerry and Wiggles!!
They had a bit of a chance encounter on a day where Blueblood was dealing with something that was very difficult and was so caught up in his emotions he didn’t even care that he was in the garden getting grass stans on his coat and Ditzy, with her natural impulse to cheer ponies up, didn’t even notice or care that she was flying into the palace gardens when she saw someone sat in the rain.
At first he was definitely going to call the castle guards to come apprehend this strange filly with the odd eyes who was intruding when this was the last moment he’d want to entertain any desperate debutantes, however she surprised him by not fawning or anything, not even caring about his status, just putting one of her fluffy wings up and asking if he needed somepony to lend an ear.
“Don’t let my eyes fool you, my ears work just fine!”
She was incredibly disarming and while he didn’t reveal everything about why he was upset, he found himself talking about his feelings to her. And she made such cheerful remarks, and was very comforting. In the end, he felt better and she came to check on him the next day, even sharing a blueberry muffin with him. He remarked that he’d never seen her around before, and that he wouldn’t mind terribly seeing her more often.
"The debut song of (G)I-DLE was also made by you. What was the member's first reaction when you were going to use Soyeon's song?"
— Jeon Soyeon on Lee Mujin Service (2024)
I realized I made some notes on how different characters fight in mob psycho, and I never posted them. here you guys go, for any reference needs
Mob: mostly simple attacks, not very showy, just waves his hand and uses telekinesis/exorcizes something, doesn’t move around much. As ???%, much more destructive, psychic force seems to just emanate off of him and destroy everything
Teru: VERY mobile, throws himself around with telekinesis, puts his whole body into the attacks and tends to use moves from normal fights (punches, slaps, kicks, etc). Utilizes a variety of psychic techniques with flexibility, very creative. Piss stance, necktie sword. Much more flashy than Mob
Ritsu: uses powers to throw people/things around. While Mob and Teru attack with just psychic blasts, Ritsu tends to use his powers to grab other things as an attack (grabbing the delinquents and throwing them against each other, throwing the Claw guards against the wall, picking up cars to sandwich Shimazaki between them). Uses his environment creatively (fire extinguisher smoke screen against Shimazaki). More flashy than Mob, but not as mobile as Teru. Hand gestures for Drama
Shou: sneaky + speed + bomb!! Tries to be as evasive as possible using invisibility/speed (probably telekinetically enhanced?) to hit from behind, using either telekinetic force (his stomp in his introduction, the shockwave hit on ???%) or his charge bomb attack. Potentially uses speed/evasive moves as defense instead of the barriers we see most everyone else use
Serizawa: likes to channel his powers into an object (umbrella, business cards). Uses that object as a shield, sword, or something to blast psychic powers out of. Not very mobile in season two, moves around much more in the yokai fight. Not particularly flashy, but looks cool regardless
Reigen: deception/surprise!!! Either tricks people into thinking he’s going to do something else and then attacking, or just outright taking them by surprise and attacking before they know what’s going on. Usually doesn’t have a follow-up move, just does the one attack and hopes for the best. Prefers to bluff his way through a situation
Thinking of vlr Akane is so conflicting cuz on one hand I’m so upset that she doesn’t ever get a moment to just rest and enjoy being alive again I’m upset that she just gets deeper and deeper into this role she’s built for herself and she loses her humanity and will never ever be that girl who died in the incinerator. But on the other hand, I need her to get so, so much worse I need her to be so obsessed with perfection she has this unique ability to change the course of history and she will burn everything and everyone to the ground in the blink of an eye if it means she can "reset" and get a perfect timeline and I desperately need her to never be satisfied with anything because really, is there anything that’s worth all the damage she’s caused?
scribbles based on my Another Wonderful Life file where i discovered Rock and Nami showing up together at Vesta’s farmhouse late at night on multiple occasions to cause various types of chaos and disturbance and havoc until Marlin and Vesta’s bedtime (which they both announce in unison to kick everyone out) this included
Rock levitating and attempting to rizz up vesta
Nami making a beeline for Celia’s room where she stands around making very subtle remarks (celia isn’t even in her room)
one of the things that fascinate me about thawne: yes, he CAN be normal with kids! surprisingly normal!
((not at all times, though. his mental illness still spills through and as usual he, in trying to manipulate or hurt others, spits out at them the exact stuff that would hurt him (or have in his childhood/barry's rejection interpretation) the most in the first place lmao))
but at the same time. his like second instinct when doing his bullshit is FUCK THEM (as) KIDS
could we get an infodump abt the new broken horizon lore? how i found you was through extinction, so glad to see them back!!!
Absolutely!
The world of Broken Horizon is a planet (that I've yet to name) which has two major sentient species on it: humans and dragons (or khevirs in their own language). Both species coexisted side by side in relative peace (as much peace as two equally matched apex predators would have).
At some point in their history, Cercerion, a dragon with enough power to become a God, goes haywire and starts creating and becoming storms that span almost the entirety of the planet. These storms are devastating electrical hurricane cells that are charged enough to create their own magnetic fields, the incessant lightning rain is enough to literally rip chunks of earth, even mountains, out of the ground and earth and keep them in the air because of these magnetic fields. This is obviously DEVASTATING to the planet.
Eventually, a joint mutual effort from both humans and dragons is able to take Cer down, striking him down hard enough to bury him deep in the earth to sleep for ages, but the impact is so sudden that he cannot dispel the storms he created and loses control of them, leaving them to eternally roam the planet sowing destruction in their paths. There are six in total. (They are much less dangerous than when he IS in control though and the lightning rain is reduced significantly. But they are still MASSIVE hurricanes)
After this event, humans freak the fuckkkk out and in true human fashion decide that dragons are dangerous and must be exterminated. A massive war breaks out between both species where they try to obliterate each other (this is known as the Great Dragonslaying Era). Both sides develop technology to stay on par with each other (humans develop insane machinery, and dragons develop energy manipulation).
The war rages on for years, but true to their nature they an never truly best each other, and the war ends MANY years later in a shaky stalemate from both sides. This would be the present day.
Since the war has only recently ended, there are very few laws that regulate dragons and their rights in human territories, and viceversa. Using dragons as fighting dogs in gladiator arenas and treating them as animals is 'illegal', but extremely common in human cities. That would be the situation where our Extinction crew find themselves in.
Despite all the animosity towards each other, there are a great many people who want to uphold the peace and want to peacefully coexist and even work together (this is the basis for dragon piloting); but there are also extremists on both sides who still believe the others should be exterminated: humans who consider dragons a threat and a pest and no more than animals, and dragons who are unhappy with being 'tamed' and who clamor for a return to being ruthless deadly beasts.
----
Honestly, the setting of Extinction itself isnt that much changed! It's mostly been tweaked to be a lot more cohesive with the worldbuilding and the world's history. I have added a bunch more in the aspect of dragonflight and races and planes because I think its cool as hell. The gladiator side of it is only one fraction of the world.
I hate llorumi as much as everyone else, but like can we stop saying that Harumi has a canonical family dynamic with either Garmadon or Lloyd.
There’s no family dynamic there. Not in canon.
Llorumi is bad bc of the attempted murder. And the manipulation. And the kidnapping. And the resurrecting Garmadon, robbing him of his humanity and destroying the world.
I don’t even think Harumi and Garmadon have really a family dynamic. It’s definitely not a normal one.
I think I’m just tired of people saying that Harumi and Lloyd are ‘siblings :D’ after listing why they have a toxic relationship. Like all those dynamics are still toxic either way, them being siblings does not fix any of that. It’s still just as frightening and awful. And same goes for Harumi and Garmadon. Like Harumi can have other family who aren’t the people she obsessed over to the point of destroying the city.
