ok so

beyond being gross and weird I think there’s something to be said about the lack of literary analysis in proshipping (this post is about mp100 in particular but this can apply elsewhere)

there’s two points I’m getting at here: lack of understanding of the characters being interpreted, and intent of author

first of all, the common rebuttal to “he would not fucking say that” is “it’s just fiction and for fun” (which is just a really common rebuttal for everything but that’s beside my point). But that point lacks acknowledgement that their interpretation isn’t based on the source material. For example: Reigen, the guy who notoriously stood up against a terrorist organization to keep kids from being in danger, being interpreted as a pedophile (there’s no soft way to put it). It’s going directly against what is set up in a (in my opinion) disrespectful way. Also there’s a point to be made about trampling over platonic relationships for the sake of shipping and how that applies to proship but i digress!

There are methods to have characters act in ways they would not normally. In fact, most of my favorite fics across all of my fandoms do this!! What they all have in common is an understanding of that character that explains what pushed them to the point of deconstructing their own morals and values. “Wouldn’t it be fucked up if this happened?” works so much better when you can see how it led to that point. And even then I’d venture to say there are some lines that shouldn’t be crossed, knowing these characters do in fact belong to the author, but me drawing lines in the sand isn’t going to be accurate to everyone’s view. It’s always going to be a nuanced topic!

Second of all is the importance of authors intent when reading. Rather than applying this to the base media, however, I’m pivoting focus onto those creating proship content. What is their intent while writing? Through unfortunate exposure in Multiple fandoms I see these common reasons: fluffy content with or without acknowledging the ship being (for lack of a better word. i wish i knew a better one) problematic, dark content such as gore or rape, or (there’s no way to put this lightly) jackoff material. Keep in mind these are generalizations, but im also not giving some of these people the time of day to add defenses.

The “fluffy” content I can sometimes see as the author of the content not understanding the consequence of the ship itself (incest and pedophilia bad) due to a multitude of factors, and I genuinely do think there are learning experiences for them in non negative or aggressive ways. Dark content I can make a case that this is a form of self harm whether intentional or unintentional, however for some this gets looped into the last category. Finally, it’s pretty obvious some people just yank their shit to incest and pedophilia and I REALLY don’t think I need to explain why that’s bad. Point is, it’s important to consider proshippers intent, and how it’s more complex than just gross people who are intentionally malicious. I think there’s learning experiences here for every proshipper, however those who refuse to acknowledge that their actions have consequences (entirely different post to make there about how proshipping can in fact have real life repercussions) I hold a special vendetta against.

To conclude I’ll say I’m not someone who calls myself an “Anti”. Do I hate proshipping? Yes, absolutely I do. But I also enjoy fiction with darker topics that are handled in a critical manner!! Think Oyasumi Punpun. Good manga btw, absolutely horrifying though. I don’t think dark subjects should be kept out of fiction but I do think they should be handled with care.

cultivating your hobbies to become that girl

as summer starts to end, i find my days a little emptier and im full of anticipation for the coming academic year. but the last thing i want to do is waste the last part of summer so now is the perfect time to cultivate or begin a new hobby, focusing on four areas to level up your body, skills, mind and passions! enjoy angels and i hope this gives you some inspiration.

having a hobby that helps you reach your dream body, maintain a healthy lifestyle or just help with your mental health (as moving your body always does!) is such a good idea. the past few months my workout schedule has decreased due to the amount of schoolwork i have had and exam season so now is the perfect time for me to get more disciplined and build up a good workout scheme. my hobbies based around my body are pilates or yoga, both of which help me with my fitness goals. here are some more ideas/inspiration for some hobbies you could start:

‘hot girl walks’ - set a goal for your daily steps and go on walks everyday to help you achieve that.

Monika

Monika can be quite insecure and has problems to relate to others at first, and yet she is someone very reliable, she always tries her best and as she grows more comfortable is easier for her to just relax and open up. Monika isn't the type to fall in love imediatly but also doesn't need to take much time, her feelings can start to grow after a little while and they grow slowly as she gets to know you better, even admire you

It doesn't really take much time for Monika to relize her feelings, as they grow stronger she will slowly start noticing the small hints of her crush, like wanting to be with you more time and even be closer, or even getting a little blushy when it comes to you, or how she looks up at you more, just as it doesn't take much time for realice her feelings it doesn't take much time for her to accept those feelings

She doesn't want to force her feelings onto you nor come across as pushy so she will try to go slow with the signs of her love, slowly showing more and more affection, discreetly doing more and more actions in an attempt to win your heart

Despite being quite insecure at first once she is totally sure about her own feelings for you she tries to overcome her insecurities and shyness to be able to try and win your heart, and she does take advantage of being so close to you to do so, right now she is so glad about knowing so much about you thanks for being your best friend

Monika isn't naive, between being quite caring and wanting to know if she has a chance she tries to pay close attention to you, specially to your reaction to whenever she tries anything that could lead to show indirectly her feelings, and even when at first she really wanted to keep her hopes a little high and the small boost of confidence she had Monika is really perceptive, it won't really take her too long to realice that you aren't exactly interested on her in a romantic manner

After realicing her feelings aren't reciprocated Monika will take some time to make sure her suspicious were right before giving up, she is a little hearbroken but she can't exactly blame you, if you don't see her as more than a friend isn't your fault nor hers, despite feeling a little frustrated she doesn't take that frustration on anyone, is her to deal with

Actually she will close off a little from you and her friends from the club, she just don't want to bother them with her problems or you finding out about her feelings (in case it would ruin your friendship or make you feel bad for her or even guilt), despite trying to reasure everyone that she is fine its clearly that she isn't

When she finally manage to recover a little (specially with the help of her friends), and after grapping her mind around the fact that she had to move on from it she will finally to go back to being a cheerful friend, but still will be putting some distance between you two to be able to move on (at least until she manage to feel comfortable enough again)

Sayori

Sayori is really caring and loving, she is incredibly insecure but always hide it behing her smile, that also why she isn't exactly quick to fall in love, she need to first know and trust the other person before feeling more at easy and let her feelings grow, so falling in love with the best friend is something completely posible

Sayori doesn't realice her feelings right away, but since they just grows over time her realization also happens slowly. For her it was quite easy at first to simply say her desire to be close to you it was just because of how good friends you two are, she apreciate you a lot so of course she wants to be with you all the time!

But, the more time it pass the more difficult it begins to deny her own feelings, the more they grows the more nervous and shy Sayori feels at your side, she just can't not feel shy and be blushy around you (specially if you are touchy and affectionate)

But just as how much it took her realice her feelings it will take her a while to realice that those feelings aren't corresponded, she was insecure and there was a voice in the back of her mind that always tell her that you doesn't like her back because you deserve something better, and even when she was more willing to heard that voice it was her friends who cheer her up to at least give a try, saying things like you two look like a cute couple or that you are really kind towards her so of course she have a chance!

Sayori takes small steps in her way to your heart, being extra affectionate even when being blushy, writing for you and trying to give you small gifts! She tries her best to win your heart but since you just keep calling her your best friend and doesn't really have a reaction that could show that you like her back Sayori simply stops

The realization is saddening, and, at first, she just accept the fact that you don't like her the same way she does with you but is after put some thought on it that he start to panic, even if her feeling aren't reciprocated she doesn't want to lose he friendship with you, you mean too much for her. Sayori start to curse her feelings and be afraid that those feeling may just ruin your friendship, so she tries her best to hide those feelings, awkwardly and even a little paniced denying any posibility of having romantic feelings towards you

It would take a while and a lot of comfort from her friends for Sayori to finally calm down and stop being imediatly paniced at the minimum oportunity of you finding out her feelings, and she will cry over it in the process, she feels incredibly bad about it but she doesn't want to force you to love her, so she will try her best to move on and continue, even when the bitter feeling is always there

Yuri

Yuri is not good at relating to others because she can be seen as a weirdo, and even when she can feel a little lonely she doesn't mind it much, at least that way she can enjoy what she truly likes by herself, despite that it isn't too dificult to aproach her and now that you two have become best friends for her is easier to open up

Actually Yuri is quite quick to fall in love, it doesn't take much before she develops a crush on you but her feeling grow stronger slowly as you two become closer, and she is even quite obvious with that crush for how easy is for her to open up a little more and how she likes to be close to you whenever she has the chance

Even so, Yuri has some problems to realice her own feeling, she doesn't identify her crush for a long time and just take it as really appreciating your friendship, after all, it makes her really happy

But even when Yuri understand that she has a crush on you and despite accepting those feelings quite easily she doesn't really act on those feelings, Yuri is quite insecure and may think from the start that you won't like her back so she simply accept to keep this relasionship as a friendship, the problem is that as her feelings grow stronger she slowly wins the desire to actually have a relationship, wishing for you to reciprocate her feelings, wich leave her to be a little more shy and blushy whenever she is around you, it isn't until her friends motivate her that she tries to win your heart

There are high chances that she end up confesing her feeling to you before she even realice that you don't feel the same, and she will deeply apologize for doing so. But, if she doesn't confess before realicing that you see her just as a friend then she will just shut her feelings and don't talk about them ever again

Since Yuri already thought that you may don't like her back she doesn't have much troubles accepting the fact that this is just one sided love, and she even repeat herself that is fine, even if you don't love her in a romantic way you two can still friends and thats completely fine but it becomes quite obvious how affected she is, suddenly she is more quiet than usual and is visibly down, but even if you ask her she insist that she is fine

It will take her a while get over it and will need some help of her friends, but at the end, despite being quite sad by this she keeps your friendship close to her heart, after all you still are someone she admires and care for, someone she doesn't want to lose so she tries her best to don't let herself get carried away by her feelings and will just apreciate each moment she pass at your side

Natsuki

Natsuki has a hard time getting along with others, her agressive attitude and being at the defensive makes her hard to aproach, but since you two have become best friends it is a little easier for her to open up and stop being so agressive, showing a little more vulnerability

As well, for Natsuki to fall in love it will take a while, she need to be comfortable and trust you before even start developing feelings, so as you two grow closer her romantic feelings for you also grow, and those go unoticed for quite a while

Natsuki doesn't have a hard time realicing her feelings but she hates them, she doesn't like being so vulnerable with someone else and she thinks that falling in love with her best friend is the worst that could have happened to her! She considers you almost like family and her new feeling can mess up everything, it makes her awkward and nervous and she hates it, besides, she is in complete denial over her own feelings, she just doesn't want to accept those feelings

Natsuki may be overeacting a little (specially when someone point at the posibility of her loving you or you two being a couple, even if it was just a joke she gets imediatly at the defensive), at the end Natsuki is just too scared of end up getting hearbroken or even ruin your friendship, she values a lot you friendship and she is scare of losing it, but she won't be able to say it out loud to anyone

At the end, it is in her own process of denying her feeling that she finds out that you don't like her back, and it is quite shocking but Natsuki kinda expected, this just end up leading her too keep hidding her feelings, it makes her feel angry and frustrated and even lead her to me a little mean to you for a while but she just can't explain why she is acting this way

Despite trying to deny her feelings deep inside of her there was a small ray of hope that you may like her back, but since now she knows that its was a silly wish she feels like a fool, it will take her quite a long time to be able to get over it and she will be over the edge during that time, somehow she feel a little betrayed since she had showed vulnerability but she knows too well that there is no one to blame

She need time, but after she manage to calm down she will go back to you and shyly (and probably indirectly with cupcakes) apologize for her childish behaivor of before, returning to be like always without even thinking on explaining why she was acting the way she did (hopefuly neither you or her friend from the club will ask)

At the end Natsuki simple accept the fact that you won't see her more than a good friend and will just keep your friendship, despite everything she still appreciate you, but she will not handle well if you show interest on someone else, she will show her discomfrot and even disgust but she doesn't explain herself and just make up an excuse like how she doesn't like cheesy stuff

dear john - of course i gotta be biased it was part of my yelling and the beginning of john egan stealing my heart. john writes a letter to lana tierney, a famous actress, who writes back and slips in a gift to raise the major’s spirits 😉 (also coming up with the acornym A.C.O.R.N was so fun)

she’s also got a phenomenon currently ongoing Those Who Can - I support all these characters and Marina beautifully juggles so many sensitive, delicate topics and does so with the respect and understanding needed to do so.

But in all seriousness I followed Marina from the Elvis fandom (where we were also in cahoots) to MOTA fandom & she’s so lovely, supportive, protective, and in many ways has become a rock for me. what i don’t see in myself she manages to bring out and encourages me to keep trying my hand at writing so i’m grateful for her always ♥️

@joeyalohadream her cooler-verse fics oh my gooodnesssss i am NOT exaggerating when i say i have reread like at least 13 times. i love love love to read them late at night or early in the morning it’s comfort reading to me and the love language displayed between john and gale in her stories resonates deeply with my love language so i think it helps me further invest into the story. so heartbreakingly good. it truly only hurts because they love each other SO MUCH.

- at this point i’d be lying if i said i haven’t read everything she has written though. let your heart be light currently occupies my time, thoughts, and soul. there’s one portion in it’s different with you and me that has made me reread a handful of times: She eyes him in his uniform and he sees the way the night could go. The way it should go.

my academic refresh pt 2. ૮꒰ ˶• ༝ •˶꒱ა

hi kittys, recently, i just started my second term of school (at a new school), and to prepare for it i made my weekday routines and my academic plan. this is the second part of my academic refresh routine, the first part of my refresh is about morning, school and night routines, just so i ensure i keep on top of all my work and hobbies. this post will be about how i study for my subjects and my routines for them. i make sure to always do an academic refresh after each holiday so that i can ensure myself that i am able to come back to school with a refreshed, calm mind and am ready to achieve my goals. enjoy 🎀

literature

for literature, my focus is always on the themes, characters and the historical context. i always make sure to annotate as i read, underline important quotes, and analyse the messages behind the text. when studying, i practice how to write analytical paragraphs and essays to help me organize my thoughts clearly and carefully and to help improve my writing.

chemistry

when studying chemistry, i like to review the material in a broad perspective to get a general idea of what im learning or at preparing to learn. once im fully able to understand the concept, i summarize it in my own words while highlighting the key words and concepts that seem most important. for additional help, i use youtube - which is such a life saver btw - to understand visually. also making flashcards helps so so much with memorization and quick little reviews!

biology

i always make sure to make my biology notes as detailed and organized as possible. i like to keep things visual as well, i draw labelled diagrams, tables, and mind maps too. also add color, theres no reason studying cant be boring!

mathematics

in maths, ive personally learned that rushing into practice questions without fully understanding the concept just leads to disappointment and frustration. soo, i always take time to fully understand what im learning first - usually by watching videos, using textbooks, and going through the examples over and over again. i make sure to make a reminder for formulas along the way too.

modern history

modern history is my favorite subject, i like to start by organizing all the events into a timeline, it gives me a clear picture of how things unfolded and helps me remember dates so much easier. ill summarize events, key ideas, dates and people using flashcards. i also love to write practice exams under exam conditions.

legal studies

legal studies is all about organization. i have a color coding system for all my notes, once color for case studies, another for key terms another for legal principles, and so on. i always write out the definition of important terms so i can revisit them regularly. i also go through as many case studies as i can - understanding the facts and rulings.

overall, its taken me so long to figure out what works best for me to achieve the grades i want. but one key think that is such a big help is figuring out what kind of learner you are, personally im a reading and writing learner. but remember, dont study harder, just smarter

MacCready Fanfiction Recs (Fallout 4)

hey everybody, nobody asked for this but in the midst of writing fallout fanfic I was feeling a special kind of love for my favorite fo4 fanfics and wanted to recommend them in case you hadn't read 'em. Because they are VERY GOOD and writing fanfic is hard, so you gotta give props to those who sweat for your comfort fics.

I'm gonna recommend my top three finished fanfics, and then two more bonus fics that are being updated rn. As a clarifier, these are all Maccready fallout 4 fics. so. keep that in mind.

3. THE FATHER(S) AND THE SON(S) on ao3 by @sirmanmister

I'm going to preface this rec by saying this: there is Fanon MacCready. There is canon MacCready. And then there is ascended!whatBethesdawishesitWAS MacCready, which exists solely in this fanfiction. The characterization of Mac is so well written. He is snarky, he is vulnerable. He desperately wants to grow up but doesn't know how. He has the most sick character arc in this story!!!

It's not a romance but instead a coming of age story where the sole survivor becomes a de-facto parent to Mac. The heart of the story is about how to raise a child while you're still trying to grow up yourself. The apocalypse setting lends itself well because the Wasteland is a place where NOTHING is beautiful, but the way that M!Sosu and MacCready care for their sons is beautiful. Which makes it special and worth fighting for.

As a fun fact, I read The Road by Cormac McCarthy for class a week after finishing this fic and I was thinking about this fic the whole time because the themes of fatherhood during an apocalypse hit a lot of the same beats. Maybe my professor would kick me in the teeth by comparing fic to McCarthy, but @sirmanmister YOU ARE MY CORMAC MCCARTHY <3

2. WORKING CLASS HERO on ao3 by @bluegrasskitty

This is the kind of fic you take with you to toilet, to work, in-between classes. It will suck you in. AND THERE'S A SEQUEL TOO YOU GUYS‼️

The sole survivor in this story is the model for the Nuka Cola girl. You know the hot lady in the spacesuit? SHE HAS A BACKSTORY. AND YALL IT MADE ME WEEP. During some point of the story, I sort of stopped rooting for MacCready to be the narrator and just wanted Nora Cabot to take the reins. When I tell you I think of this oc every two to three business weeks. She's an incredible leading lady. I can't look at Nuka Girl posters in the game without thinking of Nora Cabot, my beloved.

the sequel IS SO FIRE. It's the best reimagining of 'what happened after the institute blew up' that I've ever read. im gnawing at the bars of my enclosure actually.

A VERY GOOD PLOT TWIST I CANNOT MENTION TO NEW READERS BUT IF YOU'VE READ IT YOU'LL UNDERSTAND. AND IF YOU UNDERSTAND DM ME I HAVE TO TALK TO SOMEBODY ABOUT IT. HHh.

The amount of world building that @bluegrasskitty puts into this story is insane. They ARE Beth Esda.

As a fun fact, I didn't know that radchickens were canon in fallout. I thought it was a plot device made up by this author to excuse the ability to make cake in this book, but radchickens ARE real. When I was playing Far Harbor last year, I found radchickens and thought that @bluegrasskitty manifested them into existence because they had that kind of power.

that being said, I still think this author has that kind of power.

1. Atom Bomb Baby on ao3 by @starlightwrites

I think you dropped something....my jaw.

fellas. fellas. this is my comfort fic. You ever had a comfort fic? Something you come back to at least once a year to reread to feel something? the fiction equivalent of chicken noodle soup? this is what Atom Bomb Baby is to me. this is peak literature actually. if I ever figure out book binding, im doing this one first.

Plot wise, it's a retelling of Fallout 4's main story through the perspective of MacCready. But (and im wheezing as I say this) it's also so much more THAN THAT.

this fic author understands that MacCready is not a womanizer but is in fact a touch starved loser. and they are CORRECT.

MacCready spends the entire fic like 'uuuhhhh I dunno about this one, boss!'

ITS BEST FRIENDS TO LOVERS RAHHHHHH

it also has a nostalgia feel to me too, because reading it gives me the same feeling as what it was like to play the game for the first time, years ago. maybe it's because I've read it so many times over the years, but reading it feels so satisfying.

The author spends 10 chapters at the end solely dedicated to an epilogue. I wish more stories did this. They go through the wringer in this story, and it's so deeply satisfying to see how cleanly everything gets wrapped up. MacCready and the Lola work really well together as a couple, so it's awesome to see how they work together after the battle is done.

BONUS FICS !! aka fics that are still updating! I squeal with joy when I get an ao3 email about these: 1. Best Laid Plans on ao3 by @druidgroves - Georgia Tate is an incredible character and sole survivor! She was a teacher prewar, so it's really fun to get her perspective on the world. She cares a lot about education and libraries and I find her really relatable and endearing. It's a cool thing for a character in an apocalypse to care about! It also makes for fun tension with Mac, who's written as a pragmatic survivor. A great take on familiar characters and their dynamics. - And It's a great slow burn! I'm really enjoying reading it. 2. Long Time Running on ao3 by @twosides--samecoin - If you've ever thought that Med-Tek was too convenient an option for Duncan's cure, this fic was written with you in mind. - RJ goes to Canada and im obsessed with it. - If you're interested in fallout lore, specifically the bit where the U.S annexed Canada and wished that there was more info about that, I would highly recommend this fic. Twosides--samecoin put in THE WORK. The world building they do to explain Canada's side of the Great War is so fun!!! its genuinely such a thrill to read!

Important lore (please read this to understand him before interacting)

Cyset is technically dead, After spending with his friends (mentioned above); he was attacked when heading to his apartment, his right eye was removed and his neck significantly injured, However, he did not fully die, instead becoming an avatar of the end :)!!! This blog is him being... a bit delusional. He died when 17, but is now in his mid 20's. Both of his friends have completely different lives, mostly moving on from their friends death and drifting apart as it was so long ago. He cannot accept this, and thus this blog is a lot of him just.. pretending. people who are aware of the fears / the supernaturals existence will be able to notice his existence, but to most regular people he's sort of a sense of Deja vu and they likely won't remember seeing him or any encounters with him. Sort of blending into the background :D

he's very fixated on time. Always wearing a golden pocket watch around his neck ( the one in the banner) and obsessively writing times and intervals in a small notebook he carries. Along with this he's fixated on the numbers 4 and 14, so those will come up a lot!- His mother is Chinese and so there's going to be some details of Chinese death superstitions ( 4, 14, clocks ect)

His parents are very wealthy and job focused, so they did not care for him much as a child, and once he turned 16- gave him a credit card and let him buy an apartment and said "do whatever as long as you don't talk to us" - He was absolutely fine with this.

He spends most of his time collecting books, clocks, objects and that kind of thing.

he's a bit of a smartass so he may be a twat- also. The name thing. He hates nicknames. Nothing against someone changing their names (obviously) just don't shorten it.

He's Ftm and Gay :D, Im open to rping Romance but he probably won't immediately show interest!!! Magic anons are fine within reason and all.

Ive been having the time of my life on vacation with my best friends , we graduated this past spring so we decided to plan an amazing trip to Greece .

Im more than happy to be done with school for the rest of my life but ... I find myself missing one class in particular on this trip . Every time I sit down to read or write about my day or even as I write the book i'm working on , I think back to my creative writing teacher . Ive always loved writing wether it was my dreams as a kid or crazy stories my mind would come up with I found it made me happy . After having Professor Sturniolo for four years he made me fall involve with literature and writing even more . The day I graduated he told me he was so proud of the student I had become in his class , he loved my determination and creativity , and he loved watching me blossom into the hopefully soon to be author I am .

I grew to love him and a professor but also I slowly felt the feelings blossom for him throughout the years . I mean he's young , he was only 23 my freshman year and 19 year old me was foaming at the mouth walking into that lecture hall , His fluffy brown hair, Peircing blue eyes, tattoo scattered arm and deep but calm voice god he was just perfect.

Im three glasses of Santo down while writing a few chapters of my book but start to read over it a bit and feel like its missing something but I cant quite figure out what. Thats when I remember Professor sturniolo told me I could email him anything I write in the future if I ever needed notes or help , he is a published author after all . I search in my notes for his personally email he gave me and start up an email .

After clicking send my stomach flutters with nerves , the books I write are... suggestive is the best way to put it . Dark romance is the style i've always been drawn to something about a stalker romance does something to me . When I was in his class I kept it classy with my writing style so having him read this type of work by me seems a bit inappropriate but then again he is no longer my professor so its not as bad .

I set my computer aside and fill my glass again and take a sip as I look over the beautiful scenery in front of me . I put my AirPods in as I start playing Young and beautiful by lana del rey . I close my eyes feeling the warm breeze blow through my hair as a smile spreads across my face . I could get used to this life , traveling around , writing in beautiful places just being happy while doing what I love.

Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac comes on next and I stand as I slowly dance along to the music on the terrace and dramatically turn and grab the railing leaning back . It feels like i'm in a movie with how beautiful the scenery around me is . I hear the sound of an incoming email notification and my heart drops . I pause the song and sit back down looking at my computer seeing its from him . I take a deep breathe before opening it.

I just started reading over the first few pages , your writing is amazing its filled with raw emotion which as a reader makes me more interested to keep reading . As I read over the email again just to make sure I read it correctly my heart literally falls to my ass . Im embarrassingly eager to talk to him on the phone . I decide to send him and email saying id love to call and left my number at the bottom .

I sit in the chair buzzing with nerves waiting for my phone to ring. I zone out looking at the water for god knows how long before I snapped out of my trance by my phone ringing. I look to see its a California # meaning its probably Matt.

I shakily pick up the phone and put it on speaker .

"Hi y/n its so nice to hear from you" his voice rumbles through the phone " You too I know its probably very late in California so I'm sorry for emailing you so late" I say shakily as the nerves fully take over my body." oh no please done apologize i'm actually in Italy right now so its not late at all" he says and I gulp Italy isn't too far from here meaning were probably in the same time zone. " oh god even worse ...I bothered you on vacation didn't I?" I ask now feeling terrible for bothering him. " No no trust me your fine i'm taking sometime here to get inspired for some upcoming books i'm writing so really its no bother at all" he says ending it with a warm chuckle that makes me smile. " well thank you again for even taking the time to do this I really appreciate it " I say sweetly " of course so lets talk about these chapters so far , I love the base line I think you've written dane very well , the detail you write about him makes it easy for me to envision him and get a feel for the character , ivory is written even better I mean she almost reminds me of you , but I think its missing some fear aspects . What I mean by that is Dane is her stalker and is following her around and entering her house without invitation so I feel like she should be more scared and fight back more than you have her , I feel like she's a bit too ... calm about the situation. I think if you add in that fear hes distilled in her it will help a lot with their character and relationship growth throughout the rest of the book but other than that I think the writing is amazing so far . I really am happy you came to me for help , I know I could be a little hard on you guys but I really did care about seeing you grow into the amazing writer I know you can be" he says and I cant stop smiling , hearing his kind words and praises have my stomach twisting and my heart beating a mile a minute. " I knew something was missing thank you so much this feedback really did help Mr. sturniolo " I say and I hear him chuckle " Of course and please call me Matt no need for the formality , you probably need to get some sleep I could imagine its very late in Oregon " he says and I smile

" No fucking way I mean girl ... he's gotta be into you I men he fully initiated the calls and shit andddd kept the conversation going after giving you the notes so like ..." ally says making me smile and blush . "Oh for sure he definitely wants you " Callie says smirking and shoving my shoulder . " No he doesn't y'all are reading into it to much" I say as I roll my eyes. " Alright i'm going to bed , my head is spinning right now" I say as I stumble to my room . I tear off my uncomfortable shoes and outfit and use a makeup wipe to get a good amount of my makeup off . Then flopping into bed way to exhausted and drunk to put pajamas on . I hear my phone ding so I fish it out now my purse seeing its a text from Matt . I open it and see its a picture of a sunrise with a text that says " Its pretty but not as breath taking as you" I gasp and throw my phone down giggling . I think of what to text back and decide to let my intrusive thoughts win " Thats a naughty thing to say Mr. sturniolo I was your student after all" with a smiley :) . I giggle at my text but my heart drops when I see the bubbles appear . " Key word was , ive always thought you were beautiful y/n I just kept those feelings hidden for the sake of being professional " his text read and I gasped . No way he just confessed to finding me attractive for these past four years . " Are you fucking with me ?" I text back . " No I mean every word I said , you're the most beautiful girl i've ever seen" he texts back and I scream into my pillow . " Well if we are being honest here ... i've had the biggest crush on you , the entire time I was in your class I couldn't keep my eyes off of you" I text back letting the alcohol fully take over . " I ask in a drunk but also seductive voice " Very bad " he answers back and I smile " Well i've thought about how you'd be in bed even had day dreams about it in class " I said and I could hear him groan " Oh trust me I know ... the way you'd look at me with your thighs clenched tight told me all I needed to know" he says with a deep chuckle . "sweetheart I notice everything , you really think I didn't know you wanted me come on you made it so obvious" he says in a deep condescending tone making me clench my thighs as wetness pools between them . I didn't think I was that obvious " I say feeling embarrassed " No need to be embarrassed , I though about you too ... so so many times I wanted to take you over my desk but I couldn't ... but now now I can say whatever I want and there will be no consequences" he practically growls through the phone . I let a small whimper escape my lips and I can hear him groan . " God y/n you have no idea what you do to me" he groans and I whimper . " I could say the same to you Professor " I say in a teasing manner but I hear him mutter a fuck thinking I wouldn't hear it . " when do you get back to Oregon " he asks and I giggle " why ?" I ask " Just answer the question sweetheart " he says and I gulp " Friday" I answer and I can hear him click his tongue through the phone " You live alone ?" he asks and I gulp again " y-yes why" I ask again now feeling very nervous now. " How would you feel if I said im about to redirect my flight home to land in Oregon and stay for a couple days?" he asks and I can practically hear the smirk on his lips through the phone . " I-I yes I mean y-yeah id be okay with t-that" I answer back stuttering like an idiot as my stomach does summer salts. " Good now thats settled , ill be landing on Sunday that sound okay to you sweetey" he asks and I nod my head before realizing he cant see me . " Y-yes sir fuck I mean yes matt s-sorry force of habit " I rush out and I can hear him chuckle "Oh trust me I don't mind you calling me sir , sounds so good coming out of your pretty little mouth" he says and I moan unintentionally . (using they/he/she pronouns for todd in this post. will explain but also if u dont agree i dont care, tw for alcoholism. time period is vague but autism hasnt existed as a legitimate medical diagnosis for all that long, so keep it in mind i guess.)

- cannot for the life of him stand welton's blankets. so itchy, just thin enough to not warm you up enough but still make you sweat, not long enough to cover your entire body. yes im making the blanket line in their poem about actual blankets, a boy needs to vent somewhere.

- beyond terrible temperature regulation, ALWAYS just a little too hot which is made worse by her sensory issues when it comes to wet fabric. constant slight agony and it never really goes away. theyre about 5 minutes away from crying about how uncomfortable they are at all times.

- had god awful handwriting until high school, like his teachers could BARELY read his handwriting it was Bad. OOOOOH OH MY GOD THERES A TRAIN GOING BY I CAN HEAR IT HONKING this is a really ironic thing to be pointing out rn but its sooooo worth mentioning. its still honking this is fun. 🚂. anyway. her parents made her spend an entire summer fixing her handwriting bc that was like the One thing her teachers criticised. its Fine now but their motor function simply doesn't deliver in the handwriting department.

- had a VERY INTENSE special interest in aquatic life + marine biology growing up, like read every book about any ocean animal in any library intense. his parents eventually forced him to abandon it because its "not a good career focus" but he still perks up when anyone mentions fish. once talked neils ear off about the biodiversity of coral reefs for roughly 2 hours, neil took her to an aquarium for their first date. rip todd anderson you wouldve loved spongebob squarepants.

- looooves pets, namely cats, but they have Too Sweaty hands all the time so any animal fur sticks onto their hands and just feels. so awful.

- had a brief period in his 20s where he was definitely an alcoholic, started as a social drinker but got too addicted to the feeling of not having to adhere to social conventions quite as hard, especially around other drunk ppl. eventually went sober after they realised they just Cant Stand the feeling of a hangover anymore. autistic ppl r more likely to develop a dependency on alcohol if we do start drinking. just btw.

- gets a Pretty Expansive vocabulary after actually starting to pursue literature. sometimes his family lightly teases him about using big words but it confuses the hell out of him. its just a word she thought would apply best!!

“Alright, my sweet brain boy, I’ve got the dirt on the Doctor- not you, the other Doctor.  You know what I mean.”

Spencer nodded- then he, in all of his genius, remembered that Penelope could not see him.

“What did you find?” he asked, pulling his legs up on his office chair.  He hadn’t left the university grounds after his fight with you and his call with Garcia.  You had left.  He was sure of it.  His office window gave him a great view of the parking lot, and hence, a great view of you leaving.  Reid, on the other hand, had stayed inside his office waiting for this second call.

“Well, it looks like you may have some competition in the doctorate department.  Doctor (L/N),” she stressed your title, “Also has three PhDs- one in criminology, one in law, and one in- get this- English Literature.  They’ve written a few really good articles, mostly on crime stuff, but also on Pride and Prejudice.  And oh, their takes on Elizabeth and Darcy- it’s enough to make a girl swoon.”

“Okay,” Spencer sighed.  None of this would help him get back at you- most of it was knowledge he could attain with a casual google search, “What else do you have for me?”

“Well, our dear Doctor is active in the community.  They help ex-cons get GEDs in their spare time, they donate to various charities and nonprofits, they support the local arts. They've got a lot of hobbies, they enjoy Halloween a lot- oh, and their mom is super proud of them.”

“What else, Garcia?”

“They have two cats, a couple siblings, a few nieces and nephews- it looks like they’re good with kids.”

“This isn’t relevant,” Spencer groaned, trying to hide his frustration.  He was looking for ways to get under your skin the way you had gotten under his.  He didn’t need to know every nice thing about you.

“Hey, you want kids, don’t you pretty boy?”  A deep voice that was very much not Garcia’s came over the line.

“Morgan is here, by the way,” at the very least, Penelope had the decency to sound a little embarrassed.

“I can hear that.  How long has he been listening?”

“Long enough to hear that you and this Mystery Professor would make a good match.  I mean, where else are you gonna find someone with three PhDs and a face like that?”

Spencer could hear Garcia’s gasp, even though she had pulled away from the phone.  When she spoke again, her voice was playful, “We’re looking for him, not for you.  What would Savannah say?  What should I say?”

“Easy baby girl, I’m just letting our boy know that I approve.”

“Hold on,” Spencer’s voice broke through the bickering of his former co-workers, “I think there’s been a misunderstanding.  I am not interested in (Y/N) (L/N).”

“Oh?  Then whyfore the background check, boy genius?”

“Is something wrong, Reid?”

“No, no, it’s nothing- it’s not like they’re a threat to my safety or anyone’s safety.  They’re just…”

“Just what, kid?”

Spencer drew in a sharp breath, trying to keep his cool.  He had to be calm- collected.  He couldn’t let Derek and Penelope know that you were so deep under his skin, inside the tissue of his brain, that he couldn’t stop thinking about you.  He couldn’t keep his mind from running back to the image of your face, glaring at him as you took the typewriter from his hands.  They would get the wrong idea.  The entire wrong idea.  So, Spencer had to remain cool.

He immediately failed.

“They’re just really fucking annoying, okay!?”

“Damn, kid!  Okay!  What did they do, tell you that Doctor Who was just okay?”

“No, you don’t get it-” Spencer hissed, flopping further into his chair as he proceeded to rant about the entire typewriter thing.  He quoted you word for word, too- of course he did, eidetic memory.  Once he finished, Morgan and Garcia seemed to take on a new understanding of the situation.

“I see!  This wasn’t a love call, but one for information!!  A stockpile of knowledge for devious pranks- that is why you called, right?  You need info for getting back at the lovely Professor?”

“Yes-!  They aren’t lovely, but yes.”

“Kid, anyone who can make you write emails is lovely in Garcia’s book.”

“Listen to your local Morgan, Reid- now, do you have a revenge plot already?”

“Sort of?”  Spencer shared his plans with Garcia, smiling to himself at the sound of her laugh.  His brand of humor didn’t usually get that reaction. 

“Sounds perfect, Reid- I can help with that, but I’m gonna need a secure connection, Dr. (L/N)’s email address, and everything you know about the benefits of handwritten notes.”

Once the plan was fully fleshed out, Spencer hung up the phone and finally, finally made his way out of his office with a rare spring in his step.  His plan was set.  The trap was in place.  Your beloved technology would be your downfall.  As he stepped onto the Metro, he had to keep from cackling like an overdramatic villain.  He was at a high point, and he really didn’t want to be arrested for causing a disturbance.  

Meanwhile, back at Quantico, Morgan and Garica looked at each other, the now silent phone placed between them.

“So, those two are-”

“They are perfect for each other, yes.”

“We’ve gotta help him.”

“Absolutely.  Hey, once they get together, do you think he’ll introduce me?  I want to talk to Dr. (L/N) about their Pride and Prejudice hot takes.”

“Careful, Garcia.  We’re shopping for him, not for you.”

“Hey, I just appreciate a person who can see the true nuances in one Fitzwilliam Darcy!  And I wanna know which film adaptation is their favourite.”

“Hey, lovebirds,” Rossi’s voice came from the door of Garcia’s office, “The rest of us have been ready to go for fifteen minutes.  What’s the hold up?”

“Nothing, Rossi.”

“We just found a perfect match for one Spencer Reid.”

“Really?  Interesting.  Tell me more later.  Let’s go.”

Two days later, you opened your PowerPoint slides only to find a presentation about the benefits of handwritten notes.  Everything you had in place for that day was gone.  All that was in its place was a genuinely well-crafted presentation about how writing notes by hand was better for attention retention and memorization.  

Honestly, you couldn’t even get that mad.  It was a good presentation.  

Still, you had a reputation to maintain.

You bit your lip and crossed your arms, becoming the picture of barely contained rage.  You took a deep breath, turning to your students and slapping a strained smile across your lips.

“Forgive me, my lovely students, but given this sudden turn of events, I’m just going to cancel class for today.  The correct notes will be on the class website later.”

You made your way to the door, leaving all your belongings behind in your haste, “Enjoy your afternoons, I’m going to go stab Dr. Spencer Reid.  In the throat.  Have a good day!”

i take characterization very seriously so thats always at the forefront of my mind, i want it to feel believable even if it falls under the umbrella of an au.

giovannis a really interesting character to me, as much as i make homophobic goose jokes, his mindset is genuinely rly thought provoking. squeaks knows how to write nuanced characters, i see no reason he would stop at gio. but as of rn i can only speculate

branching off that, this fic is basically a fun way for me to study the character dynamics, esp bucky and gio and bucky and walter, but i dont want the other guys to get left in the dust, which is why i included that scene with stumbler in chapter 3. chapter 7 and 8 especially are gonna go in depth with olive, stumbler and wulf.

imagery/immersion is something i feel like i could improve at, so i try and do little practice one shots and studying my fav writers (both fanfics and normal literature)

i also wanna pace the story well so theres enough suspense to keep people reading, but not too much that its just a bunch of cliffhangers with no substance. i wanna have fun writing, but i also hold myself to a pretty high standard, for better or worse lol

i dont rly do rough drafts? i make a bulleted list of plot points, and then i just. write from there. i usually read it back the next day to fix typos and formatting and stuff. but other than that i just try and go with the flow.

all in all i wanna do the little guys justice, especially bucky, hes a rly special character to me. i have a nightmare written out that i really wanna fit into the story, as well as a pretty big plot point with gio that im still tinkering with. i'm rly glad people are vibing with it ^^

heyy! it’s 🌻anon! sorry i haven’t been on here in awhile, but i have two success stories!

so ive been busy with finals and shit but i decided to affirm that im gonna get 95% or higher on all of them, and we have like seven finals that we’ve had to take throughout the week. ive gotten the results for two. on my literature final i got full marks!! my teacher pulled me aside and told me since my close friend also got full marks, but that was reassuring. i also got a 98% on one religion final out of two (i go to a private school). we just finished them today but bro im excited to see my grades for them 😭😭

the second thing i manifested was my desired best friend! this was the one i was really excited for so it was kind of hard to keep my mind off it. so backstory i used to be friends with this guy when i was like reallyyy little im talking early elementary school days. obviously i mean usually you don’t stick with your friends from kindergarten but over the past year ive kind of had more of a liking to him since he’s one of the few people i actually went to elementary, middle, and now high school with. problem is he’s talked with my friend group before but every time he comes it’s like there’s an argument between two of my friends 😭😭

so he rotated at the beginning of the year between my friend group and his og one and i would get really happy once he talked with my friend group for a couple days but then he’d go back to his old one for two weeks. i eventually just developed the mindset that he just doesn’t want to be in our friend group and will only stay for a couple days, so huge mistake #1. this continued for like 2 months until he just completely stopped talking to us until the beginning of this week.

i found out about the manifestation community and i wanted to try to manifest him just to ‘test it out’ and literally the first few times i tried doubts just took over. i was relying on the “3D” but i stopped over consuming (hence why i haven’t been on this for two weeks) and read a few posts that kind of made it click. i tried again last Wednesday and kept affirming and shutting down doubts even on one day when it just felt impossible. on Tuesday, he started talking to us again and we went after school to study for finals together, but he’s still talking with his old group a lot. Wednesday, he talked with us again even though like on Tuesday he’s talking with his old group of friends (they’re really toxic btw, ive heard things from somebody in my friend group that used to be friends with the people he’s close friends with in the outer world rn). Yesterday, talked again and called after school. ik like i described earlier usually before he’d just talk to us for a few days then run off but it feels different now after finding the loa community, like it’s actually working and im so excited ❤️❤️

TLDR;

over the past week ive started manifesting my desired best friend after multiple attempts and the outer world is starting to conform! i want a little more, but i can tell that it’s starting to reflect and im really excited for what’s to come
