Vox, the noisy video box

So Vox may not be my favorite character, but he is probably my favorite redesign. I laugh every time I look at him now. He looks like a weird mix of Spongebob, Kraang(TMNT), and Mr. Electric(Sharkboy and Lavagirl). He absolutely hates it.

There's too many twinks in this show. So when I was trying to decide which characters I could change, for body diversity, Vox was an obvious one. He needed more bulk so his body could conceivably support the old TV models. Those things could get heavy. The change also had the side effect of making him shorter, which just worked better proportionately.

I liked the idea that Vox could never get rid of his original bulky 50s TV, but also wanted him to be able to upgrade. So I decided his true body is the 50s TV, and he adds an upgraded monitor for a head as technology improves. He's hates that he's stuck as an old fashioned TV, so he hides that under his suit. Since the monitor is just an addition, it can be swapped out easily. It can be damaged and he's technically unharmed. But he can't see through his suit without the monitor, unless he wants to use a security camera and direct himself 3rd person style.

I didn't like that basically everyone has sharp teeth. It reduces the impact for characters like Alastor or Rosie. So I've been having the default be just sharp canines. But with Vox being a TV, there are so many possibilities. I gave Vox "regular" teeth, which helps him look more trustworthy. It fits the corrupt businessman vibe. But the appearance can change with his mood too.

Color TV became available in the 50s, so Vox always had color vision. But I think it'd be funny if, early on, he had a tendency to glitch out by going into black and white vision when he gets worked up. He's mostly grown out of that glitch, but he can't seem to shake the static or TV color bars, and developed new ones as he integrated computer and internet tech into himself as well. Now he gets the Blue Screen of Death, system errors, and city wide power surges.

Messing around with his face is so fun. When he's bored or tired a Voxtech logo will bounce around like the DVD logo, or display a screensaver. His face can get too big for the screen when he's excited, or be small when he's feeling embarrassed. I need to put a troll face on him at some point. It may be an old meme, but man, it feels right.

His left eye turns red when it's hypnotic, to reference those blue and red 3D glasses.

Of the three Vees, he is absolutely the most powerful. Val and Vel are the content creators, but Vox is the platform. The other two, while still powerful in their own right, would never have gotten to the level they're at if it weren't for Vox. He controls the mainstream media.

--TV set--

So we've got some interesting implications with how he functions. He's a TV, but he blue screens like a computer, and he shorts out the power grid. I think it's safe to say he is more than just a TV, he's a multimedia entertainment center. That, and TVs are starting to really blend with computers these days. He's mainstream media.

At some point, I realized that a TV set was a "set" because it wasn't just a single device. A television set was a collection of components, which boils down to a radio hooked up and synchronized to a visual display. I bring this up mostly because I am a sucker for one-sided radiostatic. It's so funny to me. Vox is obsessed.

But I'm going to refrain from too much theorizing about their relationship. Alastor is absolutely not interested in romance. Nor a QPR. He's not even interested in friendship. Alastor is too invested in power dynamics to really consider anyone a friend. Mimzy is probably the closest he has to a friend, and even that has manipulative elements on both sides. But I'm supposed to be talking about Vox!

--Human Vox!--

He is not tall, haha. But his proportions are a bit taller than his demon form. I wanted to go for square glasses, but I didn't see many examples of that in the 50s photos I found. Oh well! My goal was a sleazy business man. He probably had a variety of jobs, but they primarily involved TV. Commercials, PR, interviews, news, game shows, talk shows, screenwriting, etc. Whatever he could do to get more influence. He found himself favoring the business end of things. Making deals and pulling strings. He decided what would go on the air. He's one of those network executive types.

I see lots of people give him heterochromia, but I don't really see a point to that. He hypnotizes people with his left eye, sure, but it's not a different color. It's not disfigured in any way either. Maybe he just had a tendency to wink at people, I dunno.

I think his death involved some sort of severe skull fracture focused around his left eye. Maybe a car accident, maybe he was shot, idk. Maybe seizures were involved. But he was somewhere in his mid 40s to early 50s. I ended up writing 45, but I'm not super committed to that or anything.

For a human name, I see lots of people calling him Vincent and that's sorta grown on me. So I might go with "Vincent Cox".

--TV evolution--

(below) 50s-60s CRT TV: TV sets were treated as furniture and there could be some very interesting cabinet designs. Color TV was introduced in the 50s, but wasn't quite profitable until the late 60s.

(below) 2000s CRT to Plasma and LCD TVs: The three display technologies competed, but LCD won out in the end. Plasma and early LCD didn't look substantially different. Plasma was a little bulkier, but was still slimmer than CRT.

2010s and on: LCD improved with LED backlighting. But then OLED removed the need for backlighting entirely, which mixed the benefits of plasma and LCD. (Didn't bother to find a picture example. It's so close to modern at this point)

--Display technology-- (These overviews are very simplified)

CRT(Cathode Ray Tube)--Used through the 1900s to approx 2010. Monochromatic until Color TV developed aroung the 1950s. Worked via vacuum tubes and electron gun that lit up the pixels. They were bulky, heavy, and used a whole lot of power. Widely considered obsolete and no longer made. Video games made while these were in use tend to look better in CRT, since the graphics accounted for the image quality.

Flat screens-

PDP (Plasma Display Panel): Used from early 2000s to approx 2015. Used gas cells that light up pixels when electrically charged. Good image quality and good contrast, but expensive, heavy, and used a lot of power. Considered obsolete and no longer made, despite still having a desirable image quality.

Plasma and LCD competed in the 2000s to early 2010s as CRT popularity waned. LCD eventually won out due to weight and overall cost(including market price and energy efficiency).

LCD (Liquid Crystal Display): Introduced for TV around the same time as Plasma. Works via a liquid crystal layer with a backlight. Slim, decent image quality, energy efficient. Viewing angle matters because image colors are warped at wide angles. Cheaper than plasma. There are two main backlighting types:

--CCFL(Cold Cathode Fluorescent Light): Used fluorescent lighting for the backlight. Image quality was decent, but didn't have good contrast. (the blacks were never truly dark because of the backlight)

--LED(Light Emitting Diode): An LCD that uses LEDs instead of CCFL for the backlighting. Better contrast and efficiency than using CCFL.

OLED(Organic LED): Mixes strengths of plasma and LCD. Self emitting LEDs. No backlight or LCD panel needed, which improves contrast(about as good as plasma was, which is why plasma is basically obsolete now).

--QD-OLED(Quantum Dot- OLED) Adds a layer of Quantum dots to an OLED to improve color gamut. I think. I can't let myself fall too far into this rabbit hole, so I'm not double checking anymore.

Alright, I’m really angry right now. And the reason is a comment on Instagram on one of my hankcon renders. I spent over three hours on that conversation, and in the end, I realized there was no point trying to prove anything to this person, so I blocked them and deleted our dialogue. But that conversation keeps bothering me.

This person, of course, tried to tell me that Hank and Connor can’t be lovers (let’s skip the whole “they’re like father and son” thing), because it’s “gross”, and so on. And when they apparently ran out of arguments, they began claiming that Hank and Connor are sexually incompatible, that Hank is too old to have sex with Connor, and started naming other characters and ships they felt were better suited for Connor. And gods, I really hate those kinds of "arguments."

I’ve never gone into detail here about how I view their sex life... Well — I guess it’s time to talk about it.

So, Connor is an android, which means physically (if he has genitalia), he can have sex several times a day. He doesn’t get tired, has no refractory period (which I actually doubt), his biocomponents and interfaces allow for precise control over erection, breathing, rhythm — even vibration, if desired (though in my opinion, this part is more headcanon than canon — machines overheat, and any tech needs rest. Androids are no exception).

The point is: he can have sex, but he’ll only do it if he wants to, not because he “can.”

(And it’s important to note: androids have no biological need for sex. That matters.)

Now — Hank. A statistically average man at age 53 is still quite capable of having an active sex life, though: he may need more time to start it over, there may be limitations due to fatigue, depression, or alcohol (assuming he hasn’t quit drinking or improved his health — which, I firmly believe, he would for Connor and for himself).

In a healthy and trusting relationship, the frequency could be 3–4 times a week — even more if Hank is in good shape. Also, in 2038, medicine and technology are far more advanced. With the help of medical support (like stimulants or implants), Hank could have more regular sex.

And I’d like to add: frequency ≠ quality Connor may initiate sex more often — but he’s also capable of adapting, being attentive, and caring about Hank’s condition.

So what’s the realistic picture?

Sex between them can be frequent enough, if:

both partners want it,

Hank has no serious limitations (or there are ways to compensate),

and the relationship is based on emotional closeness, not just physical compatibility.

Love between a human and an android isn’t about physical perfection. It’s about wanting to be there.

Now, I understand the fandom's fantasy where “more = better” (especially with android × android pairings). But 3–4 times a week is not “little.” This “five times a day every day” stuff is mostly fantasy, fetish, and metaphor. Not a reflection of love, maturity, or even satisfaction.

I can see people saying:

“more sex = better ship.”

But:

Sexual life is about a rhythm that fits both partners, not a marathon.

Mature couples (especially those involving an older person and a non-human being) often choose quality over quantity.

That's why I think Hank and Connor may have sex less frequently, but it’s deeper and more meaningful. “Five times a day” isn’t about love—it’s porn or fantasy. When people say, “but androids are tireless, no aging, sex forever, so it’s better,” I have a few things to point out:

That’s not about real psychology (and yes, I know fanfics aren’t written for realism, but still). It’s not about trust. It’s not about vulnerability. It’s about hypersexualized fantasy, where characters become emotionless ideal bodies. And sure, that’s fine in erotica — but don’t treat it as evidence of “better compatibility.”

When I think of Hank, I agree — he might not be as physically active as someone younger. But he gives Connor something no one else can: emotional realism, honesty, maturity, and grounded, earned desire. Or have we forgotten that the entire game is built around the value of emotion?

People don’t say “Connor needs more sex” because they care about Connor. They say it because:

they want to see a hot body in action

they don’t want to see an older partner

they’re afraid of quiet, depth, and stability.

But Connor? He’s not a “horny catboy.” He’s focused, intentional — and if deviant, profoundly emotional.

That’s why I firmly believe:

Hank and Connor are sexually compatible. They’re honest. Real intimacy is not a race.

Connor can have sex every day. But that doesn’t mean he wants to do it with just anyone. With Hank, maybe it’s less frequent. But every time is intentional, emotional, and loving.

When people argue otherwise, I just want to facepalm. Especially when they say, “frequency = better”/“more sex = better ship.” But that argument suddenly shifts the moment Hank is brought into it.

Let’s be honest: many people push the idea that their ship is better because of more sex. Because fandom, at its core, is very horny, and sex in the ship is practically the most important indicator of the ship’s “quality.” Not all of people think so, but still.

When it comes to other ships, high frequency = passion. But when it’s about Hank, the same frequency becomes a flaw: “he’s too old.”

That’s the double standard. In one context, sexuality means emotion and passion. In another — it’s just about biology and age.

Why?

And for the record — Hank doesn’t just have a dick. He has hands. He has a tongue. He has experience. And above all — he has intention.

And most importantly — he has presence. He pays attention. He listens. He cares. What Connor gets with Hank isn't just about performance — it's about being known, felt, and wanted on every level.

Pleasure isn’t measured in stamina. It’s measured in intimacy. And Hank knows how to give that — not through endless repetition, but through intention.

I personally believe the truth is this: every ship deserves sexual depth — if that sexuality comes from feeling, not stereotype.

It’s not about “how often.” It’s about why. Frequency is not a measure of love.

Another day of being Spiderman leads to another wound that's a bit too hard for the healing factor to take care of. Luckily, Miguel lets you take care of his wounds

Being Spiderman requires an understanding of basic procedures. Including knowing what to do when you run out of web fluids and are falling between buildings, or when you're healing factor just doesn't work fast enough.

You were looking into improving your web shooters, deep in your part of the lab, stacks of books and tech strewn about, when your wrist suddenly beeps. The sound snaps you out of your focus trance and you quickly pull it up to display the hologram. 

Lyla pops up, you can see anxiety behind her tinted glasses. “Hey cutie, sorry to interrupt your work hours but uh…” She glitches. “I think you might wanna check on Miguel,” 

“What? What's wrong with him?” You were already clicking back the shooter you were examining and standing from your seat, making your way to the exit doors. 

“Today’s mission went a bit… Messy. Infirmary is packed full right now and he’s resisting the help-” 

“Can you send him to our room instead?”

“Already on it,” She nods, and a screen appears in front of her. “He’s stable right now, but he’d appreciate the help, especially on the stomach wound,”

“Shit…” You muttered before flicking your wrist which makes the Lyla disappears. You quickly leap off of the walkway, swinging above the other Spider-people. As you shoot out another web, you swing past the doors to the infirmary, seeing Spider-people going in and out of the room. Your stomach drops. Knowing Miguel, he would've sent the others to treat their injuries there while he excuses himself, always with his excuses. His own ego doesn't let him be seen as weak in front of others, and you're the only exception.

After swinging past more walkways, you finally made your way to Miguel's office, quickly running into the side room where you and Miguel rest. 

“Miguel?” You knocked twice on the door, hearing a low groan from him. “I’m coming in,”

You push the door to Miguel on the floor, supporting his upper body on the edge of the bed. Your eyes widen, quickly moving to his side, dropping to the floor next to him. Your hands cup his jaws, turning him towards you. “Miguel? Hey, it’s me, hey,” 

His breath is labored, eyes flashing as he blinks rapidly before he finally registers your appearance when he glances at you. Miguel growls, holding one side while his other arm claws at the sheets. “You dont… need to help…”

“Yes I fucking do.” You stare him down before slowly bringing your hands to remove the one holding at his side. It reveals a long cut, from his hip to his middle, dangerously close to his stomach. If whoever attacked him angled their weapon just right, it would’ve struck his- “Okay, alright let’s get you on the bed,”

With your super strength, moving Miguel to lie down on the bed wasn't a hassle. Miguel grunts as he’s set on the bed, still holding at the gaping wound. You quickly run into the ensuite bathroom, grab the emergency kit from the cabinet and run right back, dropping down beside you’re groaning boyfriend. Opening the case, it has the necessary supplies you need. You swiftly pull off your mask and gloves, coaxing Miguel to remove his hands.

“Lyla disable the top part of Miguel’s suit.” The suit glitches away. The cut doesn't seem too deep to penetrate fat, therefore it won't need stitches, but a hand full of butterfly plasters and a good wrap of bandages. You pull and bundle up the blanket, pushing it beneath Miguel's hand. 

“Hold this babe, I’m going to get a wet towel,” Miguel nods.

You quickly run into the bathroom again, grabbing the two towels that were hung and running them under the tap, making sure they're soaked. You twist them, enough to get excess water out and run straight back to your boyfriend. Carefully, you remove the blanket and his hand, before beginning to clean the cut, patting around it with the damp towel. Miguel hisses, biting down on his fist, which worries you. 

“Here, don't hurt yourself,” You try a small smile, relief to see Miguel’s eye roll as a response. You hand him one of the pillows so he doesn't inject himself with his paralyzing venom. Once you are he’s safe, you continue your cleaning. The towel has been successfully covered in blood, but the cut is now clean and oozing fresh blood instead. You quickly grab a pair of tweezers and a ball of cotton, putting enough Betadine to coat the ball before pressing it against the edges of the wound. 

Miguel growls on top of you, arching his back which pushes him to recline his head, his claws dig into the mattress, no doubt his fangs have punctured the pillow. You deflate, knowing how much it’s hurting him. “I know, I’m sorry, but it’ll be done soon Miguel,”

You can already see the sweat forming on his temple when you're finally done addressing the cut with betadine. You throw the cotton balls away, looking into the box for butterfly bandaids. Spotting them, you pull enough out and also a couple of rolls of bandages. You place the bandaids in a row, making sure they're secured around the wound, closing the gaps before it could make a larger gash. Once the band-aids are placed, you sit back on your haunches, satisfied with your work. You dab the blood that escaped before you closed the wound with a clean part of the towel, happy now that the wound is finally clean and closed.

“Okay, it’s done. I’m going to wrap it up now babe, sit up,” You help Miguel to lean against you, his head on your shoulder so your hands are free to wrap the bandages around his middle. He groans, burying himself in the crook of your neck, the pillow thrown somewhere in the room. 

Steadily, you begin wrapping the bandage around him, making sure it isn't too tight or too loose. The first few layers were stained with blood residue until the bandage was wrapped thick enough to show nothing. Cutting the end of the bandage with the scissors provided, you tie it up snugly before carefully moving Miguel to lean on the headboard, a propped-up pillow to support his back. 

“There. Not too tight right?” He shakes his head, winching a bit. Your brows crease. You stand, grabbing the stray mug on the nightstand before heading to the bathroom, and filling the mug with water. You come back and hand the cup to Miguel, before popping a couple pills of painkillers on your palm and pushing it to your boyfriend. He eyes them skeptically. “I know the super healing will take care of most of it, but that’ll help. Drink.” 

Miguel huffs, taking the pills and gulping them down with water. He set the mug aside, refusing to meet your eyes. You sigh, slowly taking his hand to entwine with yours, brushing his bruised knuckles. “Can I see the other ones, Miguel?”

“I’ll be fine, the others will heal,”

You sigh, tracing circles on his knuckles. His eyes are far away, staring out into Nueva York from the room's large windows. The sun has started to set, flooding the room with a hue of orange and hints of violet. Miguel refuses to meet you, knowing your eyes will be filled with worry and guilt, knowing you weren't there for Miguel in his mission. Miguel was the one who insisted that for you to stay in the HC, working on your latest upgrade, but he knew how dangerous today's mission was supposed to be, and he couldn't see you get hurt the way he did. 

Miguel softly grasps your hand, tightening your loose hold. Your eyes widen, raising your head to meet his eyes, gleaming in the burning sky. His usual stoic profile fades into something softer, something more sincere. He brings your hand towards him, effectively pulling you up to sit on the edge of the bed, and places a soft kiss on the back of your hand. 

“Thank you,” He manages, shakily. “For patching me up,”

You smile, and a relieved sigh follows as you scoot closer to him. Your free hand cups his jaw slowly as you lean closer. His lips brush yours. Miguel sighs, tilting his head to kiss you deeper, and you obliged. Your hand brushes the curls behind his head, smiling at the feeling of your boyfriend surviving another day of being Spiderman. When you two pull back, you stay closer by pressing your crown against his, panting from the kiss, but relief nonetheless. You grin, feeling your boyfriend's warm breath, before stealing another short peck. “I’m going to get you food,”

With that, Miguel sighs but nods, letting your hand go. You smile fondly, getting up to leave the room and get your boyfriend something to help his healing factor.

Okay, okay, okay, so like Vox probably shredded the pic 'cause Alastor rejected him, broke his little evil heart and crushed his ego. So he was all like, "I gotta erase any proof I ever cared." Some guys collect baseball cards, others go for bloody revenges; Valentino's cool with it and supports his husband hobby as long as it doesn't hurt their relationship.

When it comes to plastic surgeon, I think he just uses his company's resources. Probably has like one or two tech nerds that take care of his hardware.

Burns family headcanons

Charlie

Him and Woodrow are half brothers. Charlie's father is out of the picture, and his mom remarried and had Woodrow

Him, Ezra, and William Fowler were all friends throughout school

All three of them were born and raised on Griffin Rock

The three of them also created go karts one summer that they rode constantly around town. This was the start of Rolling Thunder

Woodrow and him would hike up to Griffin's Crest and camp every weekend. During the summers they would stay for longer on the trips

Him and his wife knew each other as kids but never interacted

He was in the Military during the 80s

He reunited with his wife in the military where she had become a scientist

The military also is where they met and worked with Optimus Prime

They both left the forces when she became pregnant with Kade

After leaving the forces he became a police officer and they all lived on the mainland for awhile

When he became a chief police officer the family moved back to Griffin Rock.

He tries to do at one on one dad time with his kids each month. The activities are typically based on which kid he is with

He has a guilty pleasure for watching old 70s and 80s sci fi movies and shows

Was a mess for a while after his wife died. While nothing major happened that he regretted, it still put a slight strain on his and Kade's relationship

He's just glad that the younger 3 were oblivious to everything that happened after their mother died

He was always the cook of the family. He learned when he was a kid and only continued to improve as he grew older

Chase and him both enjoy riding out to Blossom Vale to watch the stars

Only has become more protective of Cody as the years have gone one, especially with how constantly he is in danger with the tech around town

Kade

Main headcanon of course is him being trans, but I also see him as being bisexual

He came out when he was 9 and the family just moved to Griffin Rock. He started socially transitioning and besides for close family friends, no one on the island knows he is trans.

While he is an asshole at times, he cares deeply for his family and would lay his life down for them

He had a close relationship with his mother. She was his biggest supporter when he first came out

His mother dying in a fire was his main inspiration for becoming a firefighter

Has always been protective of Cody since he was born, but that protective nature only grew after their mother s death. He would constantly take time to make sure Cody was cared for when Charlie would work late nights

Never got to properly grieve his mothers death due to him being Dani and Graham's support system. But he would never let them know that

Blockbuster movies are his favorites, the Godzilla franchise being his number one followed by the James Bond movies (basically canon, but I see him as being a huge fanboy outside of what we see in canon)

Dani and Graham both used grimlins as a way to scare him. This led to several sleepless nights for him as a young teen.

In turn that meant he would take over comms for the night or stay in Cody's room watching over him

Was a trouble maker in late elementary and early middle school. Lead to a legacy with all of his siblings

Joined the sports teams in high school. Rugby and soccer were his best ones

Started doing firefighter training at 17 with the NVFC

Had several girlfriends and one or two secret boyfriends during highschool

Got into fights whenever someone was picking on Dani or Graham

Started working in highschool to help Charlie pay bills on their house

The family only moved into the firehouse once Kade had become a firefighter

Him and Charlie would get into arguments a lot of times after the other had gone to sleep. These arguments died down over time as Charlie started to move on past his wife's death

Their relationship is mostly repaired now, but if tensions grow there is the possibility of them getting into arguments again

Most of his ego is played up to fit a fearless persona he created

Past that ego, he is very well accomplished. He has several trophies from his time in sports, and he has progressed through his career a tremendous amount

Him and Heatwave both accidentally discovered that Cybertronian stomachs can handle human food in small amounts. So Kade sometimes will introduce Heatwave to different human foods to see his reaction. So far ghost peppers have had the funniest response

Dani

Growing up with all brothers meant she became a lot more tomboyish as a kid and young teen

Would paint Kade's nails as a kid and still does to this day when its a slow night at the base

Was a fan of the first TopGun movie as a kid. This was her inspiration for becoming a pilot some day

Her and Kade constantly butted heads as kids, but it was always playful and there were never any hard feelings between the pair

Had a hoard of stuffed animals in her room. It was piled in a corner and one wrong move could bury you in them

I see her as bisexual with a preference for fem presenting people

And I feel like she would go by she/they pronouns

She owns dresses but wears them on the very rare occasion

She has an OG Tumblr account like the millennial she is

Speaking of Tumblr, she taught Blades how to use it

Her guilty pleasure shows and movies are romance vampire series. Kade and Graham tease her relentlessly for it

Mrs. Neededlander used to babysit her and TRIED to teach her how to cook. It never worked

She sent an application off to the real life TOPGUN academy. She's never gotten a response though so she has mostly forgotten about it

She wanted to become an EMT after Graham had fallen out of a tree as a kid and broke his arm. Watching the crew work is what sparked her curiosity about it

That inspiration was only amplified by her mother's death

Graham

Was picked on being the youngest up until Cody was born

Was diagnosed at a young age with autism

Both Kade and Dani were protective of him once he got into school. They both made sure that he would be safe from bullying

Watching what his mother and Doc Greene and wife did in the lab is what inspired him to pursue a STEM career

He narrowed it down to engineering after joining the robotics program in Griffin Rock's schools

Initially didn't think he would go into the first responder field, but after doing research into the different job opportunities, and seeing Kade and Dani go into the field, he decided to join them

He is also bisexual, but is demi aroace as well

Will completely forget to take care of basic bodily needs if he is wrapped up in a project

Boulder and him constantly stay up late tinkering in the garage

Almost flunked out of college because he couldn't handle being in person for classes. Once he switched to more online classes though, his grades sky rocketed and he graduated top of his class

Several times has fallen asleep at his desk in the garage, but always wakes up with a blanket around his shoulders or having been moved to somewhere more comfortable

Despite what his body type shows, he does have a fair amount of muscle from his work with heavy equipment

Cody

At some point in life he has looked up to each of his siblings

Kade, was when he was younger and constantly being babysat by him. His oldest brother was the 1st one he would see when he would wake up and the last person he would see before going to sleep. Due to this he was the first person Cody would come to when he was a child

Dani, he has almost always looked up to and has never really stopped. Her dare devil attitude helped to push him out of his shell as a kid, allowing him to be the extroverted person he is today. She is the first to propose something fun and crazy to him, which they then most likely see through with the plan

Graham, he looked up to during his time with Pioneer Scouts. Kade and Dani never really joined any scouting activities, but Graham nearly finished the entire scout program. While Graham doesn't really like it anymore, he is always up to talking with Cody about what he was doing in his troop

Of course though, being siblings, they all annoy the fuck out of each other

Prank wars are typically started by Cody

When he was younger there were times when Dani and Kade couldn't hug him when they got home. He was confused at the time, but growing up he realized why when he started to witness the rescues more

Completed all badges in the Pioneer Scouting program

AroAce but him and Frankie joke about being platonically dating due to people at school

Speaking of Frankie she is basically another sister to him. Its to the point where his older siblings will refer to her as their younger sister

Hopes for his own bot one day. However as time passes and they learn more about Cybertronian on Earth, that hope starts to fade

Honestly has no idea what he wants to do in life. Is conflicted on if he even wants to go into any first responder field

Starts out at college as a gen student, but soon switches over to animal based studies

After watching some Game Wardens in action while fishing with friends during college, he was inspired to pursue that job

Kept the fact he was training to be a Game Warden a secret from his family. Finally told them when he showed up to the firehouse in uniform

Him and the bots constantly sneak out of the firehouse to star gaze

He asks them about Cybertron, and what it was like before they left. This has actually helped the bots with homesickness

Blades is always up for teaching him about Cybertronian anatomy

Boulder and Heatwave both tell him about their cultural region's music, even being able to find human equivalents for him to listen to

Chase tells him about different Cybertronian stories and mythology

Quickshadow, High Tide, and Heatwave all use their holoforms to teach him self defense

He wins at Cards Against Humanity constantly, even when he was a kid

General headcanons

There is a separate washer and dryer in the garage for work clothes specifically

The bunker has been expanded upon greatly since the bots arrived. There are actually bedrooms for the bots to stay in, and keep their personal belongings in

Whenever they have to drop grocery shopping or eating at restaurants to respond to an emergency, they can always go back afterwards and pick up where they were. The grocery store worker would hold onto their groceries, and restaurant workers will have their food in to-go boxes or have it remade free of charge

Starting with a heartfelt thank you for your interest in them, I think my blog has gotten more attention today bc of your reblog than it has collectively since I made it lmao. I am a huge fan of your sidestep too actually, I've only recently quit being just a lurker on this site but I've always loved seeing Richard cross my dash.

I'd LOVE to share about Corey!!!

I'm not 100% sure on a canon route yet, but for now this is one of my favs

Under a cut for length

Back during the sidestep days, they were known as a vigilante, specializing in tech and tactics. Once Anathema and Ortega broke the ice, they really opened up and became very social (comparatively anyway, theyre still a homebody) and were very involved in their community in like a local cryptid way ("honey, the masked stranger that cut the boot off my tire is on the TV lurking in the background of a rangers interview"). Very stray cat affection style, went from "i hate you dont touch me" to being in Themmy/ Ortega's space constantly. They have absolutely terrible mental health that was somewhat on the mend thanks to the support of their friends until they went and got the "taste the metal"/"one more day" path during the heartbreak incident .

During Rebirth, they're much more withdrawn and dissociative. In the time since the heartbreak incident they have become much more cautious and try to avoid combat whenever they can, taking telepathic boosters and speed/jump-jets as their armor enhancements. They blow up the museum while maintaining a no kill status and take the villain name "Heartbreak" (i love the angst that one brings). Corey blames themselves for what happened to them and their friends (sidestep/past self nemesis), and their motivation is their anger over everything that's happened to them.

Corey changes nemesis/motives between rebirth and retribution. Their more social nature starts coming back as their relationship with the current rangers and mortem improves and they go to therapy, which mellows them out a lot. They begin to wonder if they're doing the wrong thing (current self nemesis) and change motivations to "show the world the truth". Heartbreak becomes an anarchist, dedicated to exposing corrupt politicians with the least amount of violence possible. Their irresistable urge to monologue about how fucked up things are makes both Ortega and Chen sympathetic and suspicious.

For now, Corey's got a mirror image puppet named Mallory. Ideally, the puppet would be a woman for maximum gender crisis, but I love the scene in Ortega's romance that has him call the puppet by sidesteps name, and that only triggers with the mirror image achievement.

I have played ALL the romance routes and adore everyone, especially Dr. Mortum (Corey's new best friend), but the friends to lovers with Ortega wins me over, so Ortega is winning the canon route by a very thin margin.

I'm having a very hard time figuring out Corey's gender issues, bc we have dysphoria in opposite directions. I *think* they're agender, but that might change over time who knows. They're gonna come out during the story whenever that gets addressed, so He/him and They/them are both applicable

My favorite retribution ending so far is where Corey goes to see HG themselves, crashes, and is revealed as Heartbreak, but Ortega breaks them out anyway.
