So we've seen what our lovely older siblings think of our ROs, but I was curious about Persephone? Maybe even Blake too, though they might be the "no one is good enough for my bestie" type of person

Honestly, Persephone is the type of person who looks at the relationships and goes; if they chose you, and you chose them, and it’s actual love, then I don’t really have any other opinions about it— as long as you’re happy. There are two ROs she doesn’t particularly like/is wary of, but I don’t want to spoil anything… So, I’ll just leave it at that.

Blake on the other hand?

Koda: He’s a fun guy to hangout with, someone that wouldn’t a fly and would probably cry if he did. Honestly, Blake doesn’t know how they could dislike Koda— he doesn’t do anything to deserve such a harsh emotion. Plus free piggyback rides on a Kodiak Bear can never get old.

Scarlett: She scares them… Ever since The Incident, Blake has done their best to try and stay off her radar unless they’re near sufficient cover and can get away with teasing her. Now that their best friend is dating her? And they have the ultimate get out of a jail free card? It’s open season. (On a serious note, Blake admires Scarlett and has a kindred bond with her in some ways due to events that I can’t spoil.)

Cyrus/Cyra: Aiming high aren’t you? They’d be completely amused/amazed that you found love with the Crown Heir… In fact, they may even give you a high five. Blake likes C, even though they think they get in their head too much, but they can clearly see how much the Phoenix cares for you. Plus, the bird jokes write themselves which is another bonus for Blake.

Quinn: They had their initial misgivings towards the Grant Heir— as Blake knows a bit more about the Grant Pack than you do— but after meeting them? Blake could clearly tell that they’re nothing like the family in which they hail from, and Blake might actually feel bad for assuming that they would be. Blake, as it seems to be a pattern when it comes to shifters, would want to have a shoulder ride when Quinn is shifted… Then they’re completely cleared in your best friends book.

Caden: Blake knows absolutely nothing about Caden… You know that one meme— I think it’s from The Office with Dwight and Angela, where she just appears?— that’s them in a nutshell. Blake isn’t necessarily unsettled by Caden, but they do find it a little creepy the way they’re able to just vanish. And, yes, they know it’s a Phantom thing, but still! They’d probably gift Caden with a bell or something… All in all, Blake would see how Caden centered you and you brought them out of their shell— it’s a win win.

Sloane: They’re very up in the air about Sloane. On one hand, they have a badass wardrobe and overall aesthetic, and they just sort of look cool all around. On the other hand? They’re sort of a dick. But! The longer Blake is exposed to Sloane, and the level of care they show you, plus when Sloane actually gets comfortable around Blake, then Blake will understand that they had nothing to worry about to begin with. (They’d totally ask if a saddle could fit on Sloane’s lupine form for them to ride.)

Blake: 0/10, would not recommend.

Reginald/Regina: Blake finds their overall cluelessness about the supernatural world incredibly endearing— especially since they’re actively trying to learn more. The only time Blake would worry about the relationship is when the long term effects are discussed, and the potential courses that could be taken (and the results that could come about). They patiently answer all of R’s questions, while subtly getting them to agree to be on their trivia team for game night, and just generally enjoys their time with R.

Truly, as long as you’re happy then Blake is happy. That’s all that matters in the end.

A DEEP dive on the extra Dangerous Romance media

I just did a rewatch of all the extra Dangerous Romance media (which currently stands at five videos -- end credits, music videos, and trailers). In the process, I realized we've now seen a kind of shocking amount of the footage (I'd guess 80%? Something like that). Which makes me take special stock of everything else, as it could very believably be happening in the next couple of episodes.

So, pulling together some observations, questions, and other unhinged thoughts organized by broad themes about what we know is left:

Open House

Starting with this since we know it's next week. This episode seems like it's going to be full of shenanigans. Leaving aside everything we saw in the trailer (Pimfah teasing them, Sailom agonizing over what to wear, CPR, drawing each other, Sailom stuffing lettuce in Kang's face, another prolonged BL pause) we also get --

Attaching locks together! Kang's hand up top! Look at Sailom's smile!

Sports Day

Another day we know is coming up. This one looks sooo cute, as do they in those fresh polos.

We see both Kang making some kind of delivery to Guy/Auto/Sailom and then Kang passing some kind of note to Sailom with a very 'only two people in a crowded room' vibe.

Football Games

There seem to be two significant football games (it physically pains me not to write soccer) based on uniforms (maybe one is part of Sports Day and Kang gets roped in to play? Uncertain).

During one (lighter uniforms) -- Kang makes a penalty kick. Almost all the friends are in the stands together!

The second, darker uniform game, Kang also does something hot to dodge a defender to score, and the friends are together again. Interesting note that a much larger crowd seems to be at this game.

And Kang DTRs! The way he words this makes it sound at least to me that they have talked about potentially being boyfriends before this (see more commentary on this below). It also seems very likely that the answer is yes:

Market Adventure

I am so excited for this one!! I was going to say I can't begin to speculate what's happening here, but that's a lie because my guess is it's shopping for Sports Day. We get the bus fall and utterly whipped (feverish?) Kang stare! A cute casual lunch date! The return of casual clothes Kang! Kang fainting and Sailom protectively cradling him in his arms! Kang completely out of his element seeing what the real world is like!

The Return of Escorting

Much has already been said about this. Reiterating that I am firmly in the camp that this may spell the (temporary) end of this honeymoon period we're about to be living in and also that I am scared to see the return of angry, bully Kang, which will have been a long time coming by that point. However, I have one genuinely new observation to add that I don't think I've seen anywhere else!

Sailom's shirt is SIGNIFICANTLY more open when Kang pushes him onto the bed. I want to know how that happened. Did the buttons get ripped off? WHO ripped or undid them? I would pay real money for it to have been creepy old man and that to partially be what Kang is reacting to.

They Cute

I have no real observations here except kisses!! I like that it's Sailom who does the kissing in the upper right. Also for a rich boi Kang loves that black ripped tank which I appreciate because I love him wearing it.

(I had to delete a photo where he was also wearing it and they were basically holding hands over Kang's laptop while Kang pretended to wipe something on Sailom's face. Both cute and disgusting. Disgustingly cute.).

Romantic Rides

I really love the idea of them taking romantic rides together as dates. Not pictured but should also count is the red sweater Kang "would you still like me if I didn't have money" ride to the windmills.

Also as several people have pointed out, the late night kissing ride seems to be the same night as the happy money throwing scene.

And then they were roommates

I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS IN THIS CATEGORY

What are they talking about?? Why are they in bed together? Is this before or after they start dating? How can Sailom look so convincingly nonplussed with Kang making those eyes at him??

Is this another breakup era pining type thing? Or are they standing on opposite sides of the same door but separated by other circumstances??

And WHAT is happening here?? I have so many guesses but I would be embarrassed to even put them in writing. I don't think Sailom would be the one to go blushing maiden between them, would he?? So is something else supposed to be happening? Is Kang trying to coax him into the shower together and Sailom protesting because Grandma is home? Seriously, please share your guesses.

Other Misc

Finally a small selection of random things.

First, I am curious about this handholding but also this dialogue:

This is Sailom speaking here. Whereas in a different voiceover Kang asks "What's our deal?" and then later if Sailom will be his boyfriend. So including the soccer hug scene that seems like four different times one of them tries to figure out what's up between them. They eventually stop being so dumb!

I am really excited for this particular scene because I think it's sweet that when(?) Sailom is living with Kang they still wind up studying at Sailom's house.

Last but not least, I have ZERO guesses here. Is this a bar?? This sure doesn't seem like English practice. Why does Sailom seem so unhappy?

((Also not included, some of the big obvious moments that have been wildly speculated about like Sailom getting shot at, Kang rescuing him on his bike, Sailom's brother's arrest, and the shower crying scene, all of which are going to be glorious.))

When was the first time Han and Leia admitted to themselves that they love the other one?

Ooh, fun questions!

When was the first time Han and Leia admitted to themselves that they love the other one?

Ah, when did Han admit to himself that he loved Leia, and when did Leia admit to herself that she loved Han? This is another one that I often make vary a little depending on what fic I’m writing, but in general my headcanon is that for each of them it happened either a little while before ESB or on the way to Bespin, and for each of them it kind of snuck up on them a bit (like, they were each in denial for a good while and then one day were like “oh, shit”).

So here’s one version of that: It’s about two years after Yavin, and Han and Leia have developed a strong friendship over that time, although recently it has started to involve a bit more flirting. (Okay, a LOT more flirting.) They go on a mission together and there are several moments where they think they are cooked, but between Leia’s amazing shooting and the plan Han manages to devise on the fly, they make it back to the Falcon. After the adrenaline wears off, Leia is in Han’s bunk trying to sleep (he often lends her his cabin on missions, and this time he insisted because she was more injured than he was and he wants to make sure she gets good rest, plus he knows she’s a bit sleep deprived because she is prone to nightmares) and it suddenly hits her how close they came to dying. And that there was a moment where they genuinely thought they were going to die, and Leia felt a weird peace about it, like it made sense that they were together at the end of the world. But that at the same time, she didn’t WANT to die, she wanted to live, and she wanted Han to be there by her side, or having her back, or whatever. So that’s when Leia has her “oh, shit, I love him” realization. (She’d already realized she was attracted to him, she just had already put that aside thinking that was a luxury she couldn’t afford.)

Han has his realization not long before Leia does, after a conversation with Chewie. Han has come up with the 99,000th excuse for why they are staying with the Rebellion even though Han owes Jabba money and the Rebellion does not pay very well and it REALLY hasn’t been paying well lately, but no, it doesn’t have anything to do with Leia, certainly not. Chewie frankly does not care because he’s happy to work for the Rebellion as long as they’re serious about freeing Kashyyyk eventually, this is a way better cause than most of what they’ve done jobs for, he’s basically adopted the Little Jedi and the Little Princess, and as far as he’s concerned Cub has found the perfect mate for him. What is frustrating Chewie is that Han keeps falling back on the “I’m a ruthless mercenary who is in it for the money” thing when he gets scared of, you know, having feelings, and all of this threatening to leave every few months business is potentially fucking up Han’s potential mate. Anyway, something Chewie says about the situation stays with Han, so at some point Han actually manages to admit to himself that the reason he keeps finding reasons to stay AND the reasons he’s worried that he has to go both have to do with Leia, and that’s his, “oh shit, I love her” moment for him.

Do you have any ‘my best friend dates my sister’ situation for Luke?

So in @chancecraz ‘s Of Queens, Knights and Pawns fic, for plot reasons Luke knows that he and Leia are siblings fairly early on and Leia and Han are getting together a lot earlier in the timeline, so there’s this fun thing where when Luke and Leia talk about their respective love interests, while they may know logically that their sibling is having sex, “as far as we’re concerned, everyone only holds hands!” Which I think could be a fun thing to apply to Leia and Luke in any canon once they’re aware they are siblings. Luke REALLY doesn’t want to hear about Leia and Han’s sex life from either his sister or his best friend. (I do think that as Leia and Luke work out some Force things there might be a few hiccups if Luke and Leia’s Force bond is a little too close…but I think they’d figure out how to make that private on both sides pretty quickly, for obvious reasons).

I think what helps is that Leia, Luke, and Han were all three friends well before Leia and Han got together, with their own individual relationships with each other. So I think Leia and Han try to make sure Luke doesn’t feel left out because they’re together, and that Luke and Leia try to make sure Han doesn’t feel left out because he doesn’t have the Force. And I think sometimes Luke and Han go out and do stuff together by themselves because they really are good friends all on their own (although Han does in fact call Luke “Kid” for the rest of his life, even when everyone’s old enough to be grandparents). They go flying together and Leia’s like “if you two end up splattered on the side of a canyon or something, I swear to the Force I will bring you back to life and murder you again” even though frankly she would be just as crazy a pilot if people let her pilot more often.

So, I developed the habit of just not talking about Digimon ships on the Internet many years ago, despite it being the primary thing that was fueling my creative output for a significant period of time (like… 2007-2014, probably??). But yeah, for most of my time on Tumblr, there was no way I was gonna talk directly about Digimon ships, because I’m always scared about the potential backlash such posts may receive (trying to get over that, though!). A few ships have breached brain-containment: Wallsuke and Taijyou, obviously, Taishiro and Nishihime maybe less-obviously (these days). But I feel more comfortable talking about those since they’re (mostly) rarepairs, the haters are minimal/nonexistent, fans of those pairs are chill and awesome, and I guess they just feel “safer” than some of the rest of the Adventure/02/tri/Kizuna shipping minefield XD

I would LOVE to make a chart like the one @reliablejoukido did showing my OTP thru NOTP feelings though! Back in 2012 I know I made a numerical matrix-type thingy for my preferences, but I never published it anywhere and I’m guessing they’ve changed a bit ^^; If I ever found time to make my own template in this day and age, I’d do it, but alas, time makes fools of us all! 🥲

All that is to say, I’m also a multishipper, and I absolutely have other Daisuke ships!! I have ended up on kind of a personal crusade to put more Wallsuke out in the world these past few years, which is why it kind of accidentally ended up being my primary Daisuke ship (oops). It doesn’t mean all those other ships are gone and forgotten, though!

I’m generally using REALLY OLD American English Fandom ship names in this post, only because that’s how I refer to them in my own head. Please don’t think too hard about the spelling/order/capitalization/punctuation of them, because I’m not! I assure you these designations don’t mean anything in this context other than “the relationship between these characters in some platonic or romantic way, explanation to follow.” TL;DR for everyone reading this: don’t be rude about shipping on this post, and don’t nitpick my terminology, please! I’m old, and so, so tired of fandom drama.

Daiyako (Miyako/Daisuke)

I love them as friends hanging out or casually dating. They’re so!!! Well, they’re pretty similar in how strong their convictions are and how open they are about their feelings, which means they agree on a lot of things but also have the potential to clash a lot, which is a dynamic I REALLY enjoy for them. In a romantic scenario, I can definitely see them as going from arguing about something inconsequential to making out in about 3 seconds flat (maybe with a side of “how did we end up here??” ehehehe). IDK, they both give off disaster bisexual vibes to me, and I’m 100% here for that!

Daiken (Ken/Daisuke)

Really great, obviously, either romantic or platonic. They were Jogress partners (cue chorus of “oh my god, they were Jogress partners…”). I actually um. Don’t have a lot to say about this ship, but I do enjoy seeing it on my dash! Daisuke and Ken’s Christmas Carol and the entirety of Revenge of Diaboromon are all-time classics in my mind and I do secretly like one-sided Kaiser/Daisuke or mutual Kaiser/Daisuke Kaiser… shhhh

Daikari (Hikari/Daisuke)

Like, honestly yes. Daisuke, I am rooting for you! I mostly enjoy them as a friendship or in a “falling in love once they grow up and mellow out a bit” context. This is also how I feel about Junpei/Izumi from Frontier, by-the-by. Both pairs give off similar vibes (to me), but I’m more likely to gravitate to thinking about Junzumi because I just. Junpei does NOT get enough love, respect, or attention in general, and I would LOVE to see more portrayals of fat-positive romance for him, specifically.

Daikeru (Takeru/Daisuke)

So, I’ll admit I have a really hard time writing Takeru, which means I don’t do a very good job of imagining him in Situations(tm), but I have read/seen a fair bit of this pair romantically and I like it, I just also don’t have a lot to say about it (I’m sensing a theme!). Once again though, I will happily read what others put out there. Please, fic writers, help me understand how Takeru thinks! He’s such a mystery to me.

Daichi (Taichi/Daisuke)

The admiration Daisuke shows his senpai in canon is very endearing, even if it can seem a bit lopsided (though maybe, by the time Revenge of Dioboromon concludes, the admiration IS quite mutual??). I do like thinking about them as a mentor/mentee pair though, or equals/brothers-in-arms, learning from each other as they compare notes on leadership and decisionmaking.

Daimi (Mimi/Daisuke)

I loooooove their friendship!! IDK, between the NY segment of the World Tour Arc and the Door Into Summer audio drama, it’s there, right? Anyway, I still say these two are the Treat Yo’ Self squad for the Adventure kids, and I love picturing that dynamic for them.

I think me answering this ask is a bit of a stealth request for (short) fic recs that feature these relationships, lmao. I used to casually browse fanfiction a lot more than I do now, I guess I’m too picky or something (plus I have a HUGE backlog of mutuals’ fanfics to read, augh sorry!). And I didn’t mention it, but romantic thruples are good too! I would be interested in reading… oh, I don’t know, pretty much any combination of the older 02 characters in a polyamory situation (Dai/Ken/Miyako, Hikari/Takeru/Dai, Ken/Dai/Takeru, Dai/Miya/Wallace, etc).

Power explanation: at minimum power (before he begins training) he can help grow and control plants that are already there, once he trains more and gets more powerful he can create plants and stuff from out of nowhere, once he’s reached his full potential he can do the same with animals, and at FULL full strength (like after Lloyd becomes the gold ninja and doesn’t need to feed off the rest of the team’s strength) with practice he can control living humans— he can also heal injuries

His hair gets darker as he ages, it’s not dyed

Was stealth until he got outed by a mean snake :( he was so scared his friends wouldn’t accept him, so realizing that he was still loved unconditionally was the push that helped him reach his full potential

(He also didn’t know that the rest of his team is queer too, which I’m sure would have made things less stressful)

A lot of his friends go to him for advice because he’s easy to talk to— for example, Day was the first person Jay told when she was questioning her gender

In between seasons three and four, he didn’t do much— he went home and lived with his family. He was very depressed after losing Zane— ai may have dumped him, but they were still good friends

Cole told Day he loved him when they were all trapped on the asteroid in season three, but didn’t pressure him for an answer. Day was too shocked and stressed out to think about it too much, and after that everything happened too fast and all the sudden he was back home and hadn’t spoken to Cole since Zane’s funeral

Episodes 3 and 4 of VA reaction

These parts will be divided into Show only non-spoiler as much as I can and the latter part discussing with memories from the book that won't be a spoiler or in spoiler territory:

First for the show only people: - Definitely better than the first two (and I hope this means the end for the friends with benefits with Mason relationship but I highly doubt it knowing Julie Plec and her love triangles from Vampire Diaries).

- Episode 4 was definitely my favorite one. I hope this means the episodes will get better as we go along but I will be skeptically optimistic.

-Okay so my inner thoughts were correct in that they definitely moved up the events of Frostbite and Shadow kiss. Some parts I will admit were done nicely, but it would have been better if there was an indication of how much time would have passed. The only reason I know a lot of time has passed was because of my memories of the book which happened much more naturally compared to what we see in the show. And for that I am scared that for show only fans the gradual Romitri scenes that are now emerging may also feel rushed because we have no indication of how long the time skip is between each episode or sometimes among the events that take place. To any show only fans currently reading this, please know that several months have passed and that in the books the events that you see have a longer period of time, so the progression was much more natural.

-Okay so from what I'm sensing, Tatiana Vogel seems to be a new character because from what I remember the religion practiced was Russian Orthodox or Eastern Orthodox Christianity and last time I checked there were no priestesses. Why do I suspect that she's going to be the Tasha Ozera stand in for a potential love triangle with one of our ships (I won't mention which).

-Viktor Dashkov being gay now finally explains why he has adopted daughters but I still wish that J and M didn't force Mia and Sonya to be siblings. Not because I don't like family dynamics but a world is supposed to be that - A WORLD. You're not related to everyone, nor do you know everyone, it's almost as if it might become another Once Upon a Time convoluted family tree because if you find the connections somebody at the very least dated or is related to someone else in Story Brook (one of my least favorite things but to keep it within topic).

-Possibly controversial take: Mikhail and Sonya definitely earned that sex scene in episode 4. Out of all the romances so far, theirs is the one that earned on - screen intimacy. How will Mikhail react to Sonya's darkness and will she or won't she do the same thing she did in the books - I don't know but now I'm much more invested ngl.

-YES Dragozera not being forced to do kissing scenes because they definitely have not earned it yet. Don't get me wrong I'm also still rooting for them but before this point, any make out scenes they've had didn't feel earned.

-YES Christian and Rose scenes, and Christian and Dimitri scenes. I APPROVE OF DEVELOPING FRIENDSHIPS! And I'll be honest I like how they made both the characters and the audience question if Strigoi really were the unfeeling monsters they are. The Christian and Dimitri scene was my favorite non-Rose or non-Lissa scene so far.

-And it seems that my theory of the forced sexual relationship between Rose and Mason to show how shallow it is seems to be proving right. AND YES I KNOW THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THE NEAR EQUIVALENT OF HIGHSCHOOL TEENAGERS WHO ARE ABOVE LEGAL AGE SO OF COURSE THEY ARE GOING TO BE STUPID IN RELATIONSHIPS! But here we see exactly why in the long term, they wouldn't have worked out. For all the flirting, competitiveness and hooking up they've been doing (which I think is more of a blow off some steam casual thing rather than the meaningful love making kind) while there is still care and affection for each other it's not really a healthy kind of relationship. Mason was right in saying that Rose puts in little to no effort to actually get to know Mason beyond what she needs to the point wherein she sometimes forgets that he has a life beyond her. But Rose was also right in telling Dimitri and the other Guardians what happened because she was so concerned for Mason only for him out of jealousy to misinterpret that as only being for selfish reasons. Mason also neglects to see the genuine growth Rose has made ever since Dimitri came into Rose's life and that she really isn't the same reckless person who just throws away the rules which was made to protect Lissa.

-AND OMG ROMITRI YES I LOVE IT! Okay credit where credit is due, they did improve on how the Mentor - Mentee relationship started, but I really wish we also got to see them go through it. In the books there is a deliberate structure to Rose's routine that shows how long it was and what she and Dimitri actually do (which I wish they explained it more because for show only fans they wouldn't pick up why running is so important). BUT OMG THE DANCE IN THE CLUB, THE BENCHMARK TRAP FIGHT FROM SHADOW KISSED, THEIR LAST CONVERSATION DISCUSSING HOW WHAT ROZA DID WAS BRAVE OMG!

(Don't rush it please I'm just expressing my excitement and titilation)

-Speaking of OMG moments, JANINE HATHAWAY DID NOT GET ENOUGH TIME! This is going to sound redundant but in the books she had much more impact with how Rose thought about her life choices to the point wherein she even encouraged Dimitri to take a certain offer (not spoiling it for show peeps). But in the show it seems like it was more of a soundboard just for Rose to rebel. Don't get me wrong she still talks back in the books but there was a genuine mutual exchange (albeit with very estranged and hurtful words) whereas with the show it seems like she is just rebelling (I'm not sure if I'm even making enough sense so far);

-Viktor becoming spirit bound is a twist that I like and it would actually prove useful for him to gaining insight on what Rose and Lissa's bond could be like and why he knows that it exists and they have it.

-Minor pet peeve - why did they change Dimitri's friend from Ivan to Alexei? Is there another Ivan character that we will eventually meet?

Okay and now for fellow book readers: A discussion/ramble

-The Jesse Zeklos in the show seems to be the most likely candidate to turn strigoi based on what his reactions to them and to even the idea of it is. In his last sex scene with silver it's almost as if he was contemplating what would happen if he did turn strigoi and how it would actually feel like. On one hand if they are going this route then I don't mind he's a dick, but I'm also not sure because the big strigoi twist is for Dimitri. Like that is the whole point of the last 3 books, especially Blood Promise. I hope they don't replace this Dimitri twist with something else because my gosh was it well done in the books.

-On the one hand I do understand why they want to keep Mason around longer because a love triangle is almost always more entertaining (in the perspectives of the writers because how the fuck else are they going to think). But him not dying when they have moved up the events from Frostbite makes it feel wierdly missing because although book Rose did not intend to use him, he still followed her exactly because of his crush on her and that is the guilt that shapes and follows her for the rest of the series. TV Rose and Mason however have had a sexual relationship and if my theory proves to be true, he is needed longer to act as a foil to the Romitri relationship. And I can't believe I'm saying this but we already have Adrian Ivashkov for that. And I would argue that Adrian is an almost better foil for the Romitri relationship because on paper Adrian could give everything Rose may want except for being Dimitri or Lissa. He could give her money, life's comforts and if she wanted, he could even give her a baby dhampir and he would be cool with it (at the time of the main series, by the end we know that Dimitri is capable of making Roza his baby mommy). He however has his own set of issues. What I'm saying is if they really wanted the love triangle aspect and if this show gets a season 2 then I can't wait for Adrian to show up (and end up eventually with Sydney).

So, I'm like you, pretty progressive, but I have this kink that I've recently kind of realized I'm into. There is nothing inherently wrong with changing your preferences over time. I’ve known many submissives who have become Dominants or switches. Physical type can change as well. Sometimes those preferences change as a sort of defense mechanism. A friend of mine was abused as a submissive and became a Dominant for a period. Now that she has a partner she trusts, she’s a bit more in the submissive space. Sometimes that happens.

But I’m also sensing some misogyny and hostility toward women in your ask. If I had to armchair psychologist, it sounds like your negative experiences—and your lack of positive experiences—with women have brought you to a place of wanting to be with someone you see as beneath you. The risk of rejection is lower when it comes from someone you don’t fully value in the first place. well, another new year. wild to think my last post on here was the end of 2022. however my main focus last year was to write more in my journal and less on here. feels more therapeutic and somewhat reduces screen time. however there's some thoughts I just want to get out. last year was a pile of dog shit to be honest. I felt like it started off strong, I was dating this guy Liam who I really liked, sort of got a new job that seemed promising, but then it just turned to crap. the guy decided I wasn't doing it for him anymore and the job was a let down too. feel like I did nothing the whole year. waiting for it to end. of course I had some good times, like I always do. but for some reason I just didn't do anything. didn't travel, didn't accomplish much. which really is okay I guess. some years are just like that. but I really hit a wall. I felt so restless and that I was just not getting anywhere. applied for job after job, went through quite a few interviews to still get rejected and felt even more defeated. dating life was very average. the dates weren't bad, but they weren't great either. I did start seeing this guy Aaron who I really liked hanging out with, but it just never seems to exceed anything further than that. I don't know why. I feel like we both enjoy each others company and we always have a nice time. but I'm starting to realise that the dating culture is extremely low effort here. it has been for years. no one really wants to make the effort in both platonic and romantic relationships. if I'm being honest sometimes I'm the same but if I really like someone or see potential I will at least try. I went on a date recently with this guy and I was not keen at all, I wanted to cancel but it was too late so I just went anyway. but it was still very average. it is never a good sign if they want to call it a night. I'm scared that I will go over and things will be the exact same, but I know I'll have to put in the work to make sure they aren't. my second main concern is that I wont be able to handle it, and I think that would hurt the most. everyone says you need to give it at least 12 months to settle in, which just seems like such a long time. but I guess 12 months just flew by and that could've been time spent somewhere else. I need to commit and buy the ticket. I just know that when I do there wont be any turning back, and I need to 100 percent sure. I think I will end up doing it, I just never thought I would be doing this until now. the idea of moving overseas always seemed out of reach.

my main goals for the year:

work out consistently even if its 30 mins a day.

be realistic with my expectations re working out etc.

focus on drinking more water, eating more fresh food, less sugar

chishiya shuntaro

dating chishiya is a challenge. his personality conflicts with a good majority of others, which is why it's so hard to catch his interest.

despite this, you somehow managed to catch his attention. something about you really stuck out to him the first time he saw you in a game.

it was a game of clubs, and you happened to seem like the most bearable option to team up with, so you temporarily worked together. and that, my friends, is how you first met him.

there weren't any formal introductions. no 'hi, nice to meet you' or, 'hey, my name is.' he simply teamed up with you, and that was all that it was in his eyes.

he thought that he would never see you again. so you can imagine his surprise when you popped up at the beach only a week later.

kuina was the one to formally 'introduce' you two.

the two of you clicked when you first met, and she saw potential in you. she imagined that chishiya might as well, so she decided to test her theory out.

as she expected, chishiya was surprised by your abilities and thought that you would be a good asset to his plan. just another pawn, at first. somebody for him to use in a dire situation to save his skin.

but that would soon change ;)

he just scratched the surface with you during your initial meeting. as time went on, he quickly realized that there was more to you than he first assumed.

chishiya is not one to instigate any type of conversation, so you had to do that part. as you spoke to each other more and more, you began to reveal more about yourself.

chishiya, for the most part, stayed closed off, but he gained a newfound interest in all that you had to offer the more you told him.

it took a while. chishiya is not one to fall fast. i'm not 100% sure how long he was in the borderlands for, but it would take him months to actually feel that spark of emotion towards you.

expect a lot of withdrawal for the first bit.

feelings are new to him. in his mind, it's a weakness. the way he felt towards you would only get in the way of his plan. so naturally, he pushed his feelings down and avoided you.

in this stage, you would have to confront him or else he would refuse to change his ways.

that confrontation would probably go pretty bad. although he doesn't want to admit it, the thought of being in love with someone scares him, and fear drives him to act coldly to you. this would lead to some pretty hurtful words being sent your way.

when you tell him that you have feelings for him, you'll probably get rejected at first because of this fear and hesitation.

he only realized how strong his feelings were when you got put into immediate danger

i imagine a game where you almost died, or a serious injury that could potentially leave you bed-ridden to the point of an expired visa.

this is when he realizes how important you are to him, and when he finally gives into how he feels.

chishiya is not a very affectionate person, so don't expect a lot of pda. or affection in general, really.

the furthest he'll go with pda is hand holding, but that is something extremely rare.

in private, he'll give you hugs and sometimes cuddles, but kissing is definitely reserved for special occasions.

even so, he shows you his love in other ways. mostly silent ways, because he's awkward as hell with his feelings and finds it difficult to express them.

this involves making you coffee in the morning, bringing you a fresh towel when you forget one, and most importantly... making sure you stay away from the militants.

this all happens without your knowledge. he never tells you that he was the one who picked up your dirty laundry off the floor, or that he was the one who watered the plant in your room. but you know it's him, and you appreciate it.

as i hinted at, he is slightly protective over you.

mostly when it comes to the militants. he doesn't like them around you, because he knows they're nothing but trouble.

he knows that you're plenty capable of going through the games on your own. he realized that when he first met you, which is why he rarely tries to go to the same game with you. but it doesn't stop him from worrying.

if you ever get hurt, he prefers you let him deal with it instead of going to ann. he wants to make sure you get the best medical attention possible, and he's aware he's the only one who can do that for you.

speaking of medical attention, he'll open up about his past to you at some point.

it will probably be a couple months into the relationship. he needs to know that you and him will stay together before he decided to spill the beans.

of course you questioned him about his vast knowledge of the medical field, but until he decides to open up to you, he plays it off.

'i read a book on this once. that's all.'

'it's really not hard. doesn't take a genius to figure out.'

you're going to have to be the one to initiate a lot of your firsts.

you'll definitely be the one to ask him out.

and i'm talking a lot of your firsts. first date, first kiss, first everything.

you soon become a number one priority in his plan.

he refuses to leave the borderlands without you by his side.

he makes sure that you know where to find him when you eventually go back to the normal world.

this is another one of those things where he won't verbally say it, but he realized shortly after you started dating that you were too important to him to leave behind.

overall...

it truly takes a special type of person to date chishiya, but once you get through the first few stages, it's 100% worth it.

you're singlehandedly the most important thing in his life and would do almost anything for you.

during the ten of hearts game, he made sure you were safely outside of the burning building the moment the game was completed.

he couldn't bare to lose you after going through such a grueling process of finding out how much you mean to him, so expect to become a top priority.

despite what most people think, he treats you like royalty and would never intentionally hurt you after you start dating. he's just good like that <3

karube daikichi

karube is very forward about his feelings, so it didn't take long for the two of you to get together.

he met you during one of his late night shifts at the bar. he couldn't help but wonder how somebody as stunning as you was alone at a place like that.

he struck up a conversation with you while making your drink, and before you knew it, you had scored yourself a date with your bartender.

he is also a total romantic, which lead to a great first date.

he totally went to you for your input, asking you the corny question of 'what's your dream date?'

after doing all that he could to make sure the setting was perfectly suited for you, he bought you some flowers and asked you lots of questions.

he's a charmer. this helped him get to know you incredibly fast, and by the time the night ended, the second date was already halfway planned out.

you ended the day with a successful peck on the lips, and by that point, your relationship status was basically set in stone.

you officially started dating after the third date!

this boy is the most overprotective out of the bunch.

he will not stand for someone disrespecting you. we already know that karube isn't afraid to get physical, and he's definitely not afraid to defend someone he loves.

with this overprotectiveness also comes a lot of jealousy. you may have had to break up a few fights between him and some guy who looked at you in a way reserved for karube only.

he treats you like you're made of glass, honestly. he doesn't want to hurt your feelings and doesn't want to see anyone else take advantage of you.

he makes sure not to smoke around you because he doesn't want to potentially affect your health or wellbeing. he's really sweet about it.

he is very affectionate and touchy.

he's not afraid of pda!

one of his favorite places to kiss you is your cheek, solely because he loves to feel it heat up under his lips when you don't expect it. his favorite part of being affectionate with you is your cute reactions.

while he thinks hand-holding is cute, he prefers to take the approach of putting his arm around your shoulder or waist. he likes it better this way because he can hold you closer.

the only time he refrains from pda is when he's in front of his friends, but he makes up for that later with cuddles during your alone time.

speaking of friends... your views on arisu and chota are very important to him!

aside from you, arisu and chota are two of the most important people in his life. he wants them to think highly of you, and likewise wants you to think highly of them.

while you obviously don't have the same type of chemistry with them that he has, he was very happy to see you get along with his friends.

trips to the bar are normal and a great way to spend time together.

he loves when you visit his job and talk to him for hours, especially on a slow night. fridays and saturdays are normally too busy for this to happen, but during the weekdays, you do it quite often.

you guys get a lot of compliments from random customers who think you're the cutest couple alive.

with that also comes the bitter loners. these are the people who can't stand to see a happy couple and drink their feelings away because of it. while you sympathize with them, karube isn't afraid to kick their ass if they make one out-of-pocket comment.

he would do absolutely anything to protect you in the borderlands.

your life will always be more important than his, in his own eyes. because of this, he is basically attached to your hip during the games.

will not let you leave his sight and always reminds you to watch out for danger.

on a sadder note, if you hypothetically didn't participate in the seven of hearts game/were not in the borderlands, he would make sure to tell arisu to look out for you.

even if it's only been a few months, he believes you're the one.

You decided to text him since you were at home and bored and knew he was on lunch (your school had a day off while his didn't). Which is kinda bad considering all his friends the extras at his table started asking questions and teasing him.

"Oooo who is it?" Mina asked, already leaning over the table, trying to catch a glimpse at the contact.

Kaminari, of course, jokingly adds that it might be his secret lover. Relationships are the go-to for poking fun at your friends after all...

However, with the way their blond bestie retaliated, cursing just a little louder, cheeks dusted the faintest of pink, it leads the rest of the Baku-Squad to believe that Denki hit the nail on the head (for once).

So, of course, that breeds into even more teasing and pestering. At one point, while they all were hanging out in one of their rooms and the topic came up again, Bakugou spouted "you wouldn't even know them dumbass, they don't even go here!"

Yeah that didn't help in getting them off his back...

It gets to the point where, by the end of the day, the idiots have gotten on his nerves so much he finally admits who it was.

Which... didn't help in lowering the level of teasing he received either...

But! That doesn't mean they're all not shocked that Bakugou landed a s/o before them (Mina and Kaminari made sure he knew they were flabbergasted about it with their yelling).

Still, they're happy he found someone to love and be loved by. Now all they have to do it meet the lucky individual.

Relationship wise Bakugou is the kind of boyfriend to send quick texts reminding you to eat or stay hydrated when he's got a moment. He may also (if you're lucky) send good morning/night texts with his own personal touch. ('night dumbass, love you or whatever' something like that?? you all know what I mean)

Is reluctant to bring you to the dorms since he doesn't want the others to scare you or make you feel uncomfortable in anyway. He knows that some of them can be a handful at times (he knows all too well). Of course, if you even suspect that that's the issue and try to bring it up he'll vehemently deny it all (but after plenty of reassurance - that he says he doesn't need - he'll eventually cave and introduce you)

The whole class loves you btw. They see how their prickly classmate looks and acts around you.

Doesn't show it but is very conscious about his sweaty palms. You won't know about it (unless you can read him like a book) but Baku is keenly aware of how much sweat he's got on his hand and is focused part of his attention on it to make sure he doesn't accidently let off an explosion.

Unfortunately, since you go to another school you don't get to see him as often as you would if you went to UA. Dates are sort of far apart with how much he dedicates to training and schoolwork. But if you're in a relationship then you probably already knew and understand this.

If you posses a potential combat quirk dates can consist of you two sparring and giving pointers! If you don't then you can still help with training if you'd like (throwing objects at him for him to blow up, things like that).

Depending on your character Bakugou might not talk about what goes on at UA (the attacks that aren't reported on the news or ones you didn't hear of for example). He just doesn't want you to work yourself up with worry over him.

When in private Bakugou is definitely one to sling his arm over you while you cuddle up to his chest

Strikes me as the kind of guy that gives you cheek kisses. Like, nice but forceful cheek kisses, the kind that moves your head back a little just from how much force he puts into it.

Very perspective so he's very in-tune with how you may be feeling and does his best to make you feel better (it just may not seem like it at first)

As much as it annoyed them, your lovers let you go on this little adventure of helping Hayley. The wolf had became your close friend after you lost the Scooby gang because they couldn't let go that you were seeing the Originals.

"I'll be careful Elijah. Hals won't let nothing happen to me." You tell your noble boyfriend who frown as Klaus rolled his eyes.

"No offense love but you are unbelievably dumb when it comes to trusting people."

"Niklaus!" Elijah said as you blinked tilting your head as Klaus raised an eyebrow.

"No.....I just like people."

"And there is nothing wrong with that baby." Elijah says softly kissing your head as Klaus smirked.

"Besides if you are harmed I'll tear the little wolf's thoat out." Klaus says as you shivered shaking your head getting peppered with goodbye kisses from Elijah. Both Rebekah and Kol gave you their own goodbye making Hayley blush watching Rebekah give you a heated kiss your face was burning as Kol chuckled kissing your cheek.

"Marking territory sister?"

"Just letting Hayley know who our bunny belongs to."

You and Hayley made it down to New Orleans looking for some leads about Hayley's birth parents and pack. You were in awe with the city as you made sure to call Elijah and Rebekah gushing to them how you were falling in love with the city and how you may not leave.

"So the witches think your pregnant with Klaus's baby?" You ask Hayley as she nodded. You and Hayley had been taken by witches as they believed that Hayley carried Klaus's child even though she was never left alone with Klaus.

"Damn it she isn't the pregnant one."

"What if the other one is." The witch named Sophie said and all the witches turned to look at you. Another witch you learned was named Sabine grabbed you pulling over to Jane Ann. They did the spell again then looked at your abdomen.

Klaus was pissed hearing that witches of New Orleans was plotting something against him so the hybrid travel down to the city which would allow him to be left alone with you. Elijah had followed to find you since you hadn't called in awhile and also to find out just what the witches were planning.

"I'm Elijah. You heard of me?" Elijah asked Sophie after saving her from vampires. After talking to the witch about her sister, Elijah was taken to the cemetery and the witches couldn't stop you from running to your vampire.

"Elijah!" You shouted throwing your arms around Elijah who growled feeling you shiver as your sundress wasn't doing much to keep you warm. Elijah took off his suit jacket placing it over your shoulders and Hayley walked out seeing Elijah and her heart fluttered with how handsome the vampire was.

Hayley met Klaus, Rebekah and Kol so it was his first time seeing Elijah and found Elijah every attractive. Hayley felt a little jealous seeing the vampire cupping your cheek seemly showering you with affection.

"Why do you have my little wife?" Elijah asked his tone having a dangerous tint to it as his eyes darken keeping you close rubbing your back. Both Hayley and the witches were surprised watching you look up at Elijah muttering something and Elijah raised an eyebrow.

"You think she is pregnant?"

"Come inside where we can talk." Sophie says Elijah followed after with you by his side. Elijah stood with his hands in his pockets as you sat with Hayley.

"My sister died proving that Y/N is pregnant with Klaus's child."

"You do realize Niklaus will slaughter you all about this little lie."

"It isn't. Listen to the heartbeat! When he woke his wolf side, it made a loop hole." Sophie told Elijah who narrowed his eyes but did as told. Elijah's breathing hitched hearing the heartbeat.

"I need to find Niklaus. Hayley make sure Y/N stays safe." Elijah said walking out as you sat feeling like crying as Elijah was hard to read and you were scared. It didn't take long for Elijah to come back with Klaus.

"Don't look sad, my Queen. I'll take care of these witches." Klaus said looking over you as Elijah was trying to stay calm as Klaus had placed a hand on your abdomen smiling softly as Hayley got to see the full fury of two of the most dangerous Mikaelsons.

"So you hold my Queen and unborn child as hostage to make me do your dirty work?" Klaus said smirking devilishly eyes darken as Elijah moved to in front of you almost guarding you from the witches.

"We want Marcel gone and you are the one to do it." Sophie said grabbing a knife as the witches were nervous as having two dangerous Originals in the same room.

"And what's stopping me and Elijah from slaughtering you all?" Klaus questioned smirking as Sophie cut her hand and you let out a ylep. Elijah was quick to pull out a handkerchief handing it to Hayley who wrapped it around your hand.

"Not only did the spell proved the pregnancy but also linked me to Y/N. So anything that happens to me happens to her." Sophie said and Elijah was quick to stop Klaus from attacking. Elijah looked at the witches his eyes dark with something they hadn't seen before.

"We'll do this but Y/N and Hayley comes with us or else I'll let my brother slaughter this coven. And Miss Deveraux, I would personally deal with you."

"O.....okay." Sophie said shivering from the fear that flooded her and the other witches. You squealed when Klaus picked you up bridal style carrying you out of the tomb with Elijah beside him telling him to be careful with you.

"So is she like dating all of you?" Hayley asked Elijah as you all headed to a plantation house that Klaus had set up.

"She is. To Niklaus, she is a Queen, to Kol a life partner while Rebekah and I affectionately call her little wife." Elijah says smiling seeing that you fell asleep in Klaus's arms.

"Oh....isn't weird?"

"No. She isn't the first, we've shared a lover before." Elijah tells Hayley opening the door for her seeing Klaus taking you upstairs. As days passed Elijah went missing making Kol and Rebekah drive down worried about Elijah and missing you.

"Kol! Rebekah!" You squealed happily hugging them both as Hayley watched.

"Nik wasn't lying." Kol muttered hearing the heart beat like Rebekah. You tried helping to find Elijah with Rebekah while Kol was helping Klaus and Hayley was reading though Elijah's journal. Rebekah could see you were missing Elijah as you were wearing his botton ups and you only slept in his bed.

"A church?" You asked sitting in Kol's lap as he braiding your hair as Rebekah had came back from learning a general idea on where Elijah was.

"Yes now where is our wolf?"

"Hayley is upstairs."

To say you were overly happy that Elijah was home would be an understatement after Rebekah hugged him. You ran down jumping into Elijah's arms and he caught you with ease.

"Careful, baby. The little one." Elijah says softly pecking your lips as Hayley watched feeling a little jealous.

"Eli, they are still a little jelly bean." You giggle as Elijah raised an eyebrow and Rebekah rolled her eyes.

"Her and Kol has been calling the baby a jelly bean."

"I see. Has Niklaus been good?"

"Over protective. He hasn't let our poor babe leave the house." Rebekah answered as Elijah let you down.

"Please Rebekah, you and Kol hadn't like her out of your sight. Not since the witch attack." Klaus said stealing you away from Elijah only for Elijah to steal you back.

"Witch attack?"

"Angus bought up a doctor out in the bayou to check on the baby. Y/N thought it was a bad idea, Hayley thought it would be safe."

"Since then Rebekah hadn't let Hayley near her too." Kol says as Rebekah crossed her arms huffing as Elijah chuckled touching you abdomen.

"Protecting Y/N and baby is important so Rebekah did what she had to." Elijah says kissing your head as you giggle. You all settled for the night you and Rebekah slept in Elijah's bed that night with on Elijah and Rebekah cuddled into his side.

Hayley came down the next morning finding you in Elijah's lap as he reading with Klaus and Kol sitting on the couch reading also. You layed your head on Elijah's shoulder listening to his soft voice reading to you and Rebekah came in.

"Is this the first thing you do when we are all back together. Vampire book club?" Rebekah questioned as Hayley watched catch a glimpse into an everyday look in the Mikaelson home.

"Reading edifies the mind dear sister. Isn't that right Elijah?"

"Yes that's quite right Niklaus." Elijah answered waking you a bit making Elijah kiss your forehead as an apology. Hayley noticed the dead girl on the coffee table.

"And this nonsense?"

"This our brothers form of an apology." Elijah said helping you stad up from his lap as you gently rubbing your belly headed off to the kitchen.

"Nik and I thought that our big brother was hungry after his time in a coffin."

"And I informed my baby brothers that forgiveness can not be bought." Elijah said looking at Rebekah.

"Well she is staining a 200 year old carpet."

"Oh yes....that she is." Elijah muttered getting up to check on you as Kol and Klaus smirked looking at Hayley. They noticed the look in Hayley's eyes as she wasn't the first woman to fall for Elijah at first sight.

"Goodmorning, little wife." Elijah said watching you take out some yogurt which he took over getting you a bowl.

"Morning, I missed you."

"And I you. Here eat baby." Elijah says giving you the bowl of yogurt and fresh fruit. You blinked see Rebekah drag the dead body through the kitchen.

"Who do we have to kill?"

"Probably no one!" Elijah called out to her as you looked at Elijah with a raised eyebrow.

"Alright, potentially everyone." Elijah muttered as Hayley walked in seeing you sitting on a stool and Elijah behind you hands on your abdomen.

"So.... this miracle baby thing, how are you going to unlink her from Sophie?"

"I have a plan. Niklaus is doing his own plan with Kol." Elijah said kissing your head taking your dirty bowl and Kol decided to cling to you.

"What plan?"

"A plan to take the Quarter from Marcel. Then give our pregnant Queen the castle she deserves." Kol says smirking as you laughed lightly and Elijah smirked. Hayley was sure how to handle the Mikaelsons while you seemed to handle them perfectly well.

"This was another home of ours?" You asked Rebekah walking into the Abattoir with her getting a few stares from some vampires. Rebekah found it adorable how in awe you were.

"Yes before Mikael drove us away." Rebekah said watching you stand in front of the fountain rubbing your bumb.

"You think the baby will like here?"

"Yes, sweet love." Rebekah said kissing your temple when Kol joined you both standing behind your resting his chin on your shoulder.

"Elijah made sure your bedroom was in the middle of ours so you wouldn't have to go far."

"That's sweet of him." You said leaning back against Kol and both vampires moved you three to the den. You sat leaning back against Kol as Rebekah lay in front of you on the couch with you showing your favorite Disney movie.

You three fell asleep like this and how Klaus and Elijah found you three. Elijah gently covered you three with a blanket and gently rubbed your baby bump then sat in a chair and Klaus taking another. It was nice to enjoy the peace while they could while keeping an eye on you and soon to be newest Mikaelson.
