Relics 3: Ashes for Gold has been released!
In Europe’s darkest hour, an even deeper darkness is stirring. One hero stands against the triumph of absolute evil. You.
It’s 1940, and the long-feared war has broken out in Europe. Our intrepid archaeologist is working as a spy for the British, undertaking daring operations to strike at Nazi interests across Europe. But soon a new threat emerges. The Nazis have obtained a stockpile of a devastating ancient weapon, and in order to activate it they are scouring the world in pursuit of long-lost Archives which can teach them how to use it. You must get there first, overcoming the odds to beat the forces of evil and prevent them from unlocking powers with which they can sweep aside any opposition and conquer the world. Can you beat the odds stacked so heavily against you, or will you fail and plunge the world into a thousand years of darkness?
Relics 3: Ashes for Gold is the epic final instalment in the Relics Trilogy, and the sequel to Relics of the Lost Age and Relics 2: The Crusader’s Tomb. It is an exhilarating 580,000 word interactive adventure novel by James Shaw, where your choices control the story.
Step into the weathered boots of a swashbuckling 1940s archaeologist-turned-spy and travel widely in a painstakingly-reconstructed vision of the world at war, facing overwhelming odds at every turn, armed only with your fists, your wits and your motley collective of memorable friends and allies. Do you have what it takes to save the world again, one last time?
Play as male, female, or non-binary; gay, straight, bi, poly, asexual, or aromantic.

College professors au + Buddie
Oh oh someone find that photo of Ryan with glasses on looking all hot and scholarly n shit 😍
Buck is a professor of Archeology (sorry I'm never going to get history buff Buck out of my mind) and Eddie is a professor of Classical Studies, with his area of expertise being Greek Mythology. Buck gets a job at UCLA as a part of the PhD programme and that's where he meets Eddie.
Buck had a lot of beef with the last Classics professor he worked with so he kind of expects Eddie to be the same, and is a little bit of a brat to him. However, when it's clear that Eddie isn't 1. 150 years old and 2. about as right winged as you can get, Buck perks up and they form an easy friendship.
The university wants to put together a group to go out to Kefalonia in Greece to partake in a dig. They're anticipating there to be a number of ancient Greek artifacts, including pottery, and want Buck and Eddie to go - Buck for his expertise in archelogy, Eddie for his in Greek Myth. Eddie is a little reluctant to go initially as he doesn't want to leave Christopher for an extended period of time, but Buck is so enthusiastic and starts planning out an extensive Greek holiday for after the dig, and this has been Eddie's dream since he was a kid so he decides to go.
Up until now, they haven't spent loads of time together, other than getting the occasional drink after lectures, or Eddie helping mark Buck's homework. Their dynamic changes quickly in the few flights it takes for them to get to Greece, and then to the island, and they quickly become inseparable. The people at the dig learn that there is no Professor Buckley without Professor Diaz, and visa versa. Buck takes an active part in the dig, getting all down in the dirt and truly in his element, with Eddie crouched at his side and gasping over the symbolism of the artefacts they uncover them. The dig lasts about 2 weeks, during which time Buck and Eddie become closer and closer until, one day, Buck finally takes things into his own hands and steps over that invisible line that's been painted between them.
The following month is one of the best of Buck's life. Eddie comes with him to the rest of Greece after the dig is finished, and they get to experience being together without the rest of the world prying. They go on dates, the swim in the ocean, they hike through the mountains, generally just enjoying one another's company. It's a rude shock when they have to get back to LA and to the university, but they declare their relationship pretty quickly. Eddie helps Buck come up with a Greek Pottery aspect of his syllabus, allowing him and Buck to work together on creating some assignments, which become some of the most popular assignments in the programme (if assignments can be popular)

MARIONMORSE, DROP ANOTHER HELMETPARTY SCENARIO AND MY LIFE IS YOUUURSS 🙏🙏🙏🙏
do u think... Do you think sometimes when the team has a movie night, when they watch those 60's action war movies like "Von Ryan's Express" and "Battle of the Bulge" or spaghetti westerns like "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" and "Death Rides on a Horse," Soldier pauses during or right after fight scenes or duels or whatever to obsessively overanalyze them. Like, he'll try and turn them into strategies to use on the job, takes, uhm, 'notes', (tactical doodles,) sets up nerdy models using a whiteboard map and improvised figurines, uses these examples when he does those psyche-up pre-battle speeches or during strategy meetings.
'Cause I bet he does, I bet he does that, and it completely kills the momentum of the movie to the point where the rest of the team gets disinterested and slowly leaves him behind to do their own thing.
I genuinely bet Engie wouldn't though, nah, I bet he's enough of a patient kind of gentle kind of man willing to stick through these pauses 'cause he's just that into the movie. And maybe he's just a teeny bit into Soldier's dissections of actiony chaos. Maybe gleans a bit of an understanding of Soldier's thinking that way. Admires the guy's passion about his 'research,' how thoughtfully he gathers details in an effort to help the team. Starts mixing in tapes for these sorts of movies more regularly to their movie night pool maybe subconsciously, maybe on purpose. The rest of the team doing their own movie night. losers.

💜: Which character is way hotter than everyone else seems to think?
I am going to have to say Eobard because christ alive the amount of people who say that he's ugly is insane.
He's been drawn ugly in the Silver Age a couple of times (mostly because of the ridiculous haircut), but beside that he's either ugly because the artist has Ugly Face Syndrome and draws everyone looking like roadkill, or he's VERY handsome.
Like yall. Hello.
He's hot!
