AuDHD is so funny sometimes like what do you mean my hyperfixations/special interests will last for years on end or possibly forever but they will cycle out every month or two with absolutely no transitional period or warning. like i will think about the same topic every day obsessively for 46 days in a row and on the 47th day with no visible cause adhd brain goes "ok! bored of that now" and autism brain goes "dw i got something queued up for ya" and i blast into full blown obsession on some other topic whose mental file folders haven't opened in 9 months. brain's out here treating hyperfixations like a crop rotation. once the dopamine runs out it cycles in another one but once something's in the rotation it never ever leaves. last summer we brought in one from when i was 11. it's so funny to me but frustrating too bc like. i cannot stress enough my inability to predict or control this. or how completely abrupt and random it can be

okay. this is going to be a rough post because i am still reeling from that direct. sorry about that.

but the map of lumiose city for legends: Z-A just released on the official website.

immediately, one thing struck me:

now, this may not actually be the case, but there's a possibility that this is lumiose station, where you take the TMV from lumiose to kiloude in the XY postgame.

why this building in particular? well, it happens to bear a striking resemblance to the famous gare du nord railway station in paris, which lumiose city is based on; and is even in a somewhat similar relative location in the north.

(location on map - may not be fully accurate to XY's map, but in that game, lumiose station is still on the east side of the north boulevard at least.)

(note the shared features: skylight along the ridge, arches)

with that in mind, it's interesting that chandelure is one of the pokémon featured in this visual. of course, it could easily be just a cute little visual gag (chandelier pokémon beside modern chandeliers); chandelure was part of the XY regional kalos pokédex after all.

however, chandelure is also famously associated with ingo, who is famously associated with trains, and appeared in the previous legends title, even mentioning the former briefly during a plot scene.

could this be a nod to them? no one knows.

of course, if the depicted building isn't actually lumiose station, this whole post is moot and i am but a harlequin in burgh's gym. but for now? i am going absolutely INSANE over this. possibly the most hype part of the reveals today for real.

I’m rewatching supernatural, and I can’t believe I never realised this before, but sam and dean are the exact opposite of what they think of themselves. In the brothers’ eyes Sam is the more emotionally open one, or the one with more empathy, and yet he struggles to make close relationships that aren’t romantic. He keeps everyone at arms distance: john, mary, bobby, cas, and so many other examples throughout the series. Whereas dean is supposed to be closed off and emotionally stunted, and yet he has deeper connections with almost all recurring characters: garth, jody, donna, claire (obviously the ones mentioned before). He lets people in more easily than sam. Even how he knows all the shopkeepers in lebanon, whereas they don’t seem to know sam (ie 14x13).

The dynamic between Arthur and Gwaine is so interesting to me. They are both men who struggle with trust and abandonment issues. They both have so much anger and self hatred. But in Gwaine it manifests as a drinking problem (to numb the feelings, and to become that funny cool guy everyone likes because he is easy to get along with and doesn't have this huge amount of emotional baggage) , getting into brawls (punishing himself for drinking or for feeling) and flirting with every single person he comes across (avoiding any deep meaningful connections bc then ppl would realize he's not that nonchalant careless guy and would abandon him) and Arthur isolates (avoiding needing people bc eventually they would leave and he doesn't want to be hurt and humiliated again but also as a punishment for himself bc he shouldn't need other people that's weak, a lesson he learned from Uther), broods and denies himself to feel his emotions. (a king needs to be strong)

They are literally the same but they are so different. And I think thats why they struggle to get along sometimes because they recognize that wound in the other but they have a very different way of coping.

Or they just both wanted to kiss Merlin and were jealous who knows

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how can you tell if it’s Nikita or Artyom singing in their songs. It’s very hard for me to tell their voices apart :(

Not a dumb question. To be honest, I can't ALWAYS tell them apart due to poor sound quality or low volume, but in other cases I usually can. I don't know how to explain this, but...

Nikita: - gets voice cracks; - often changes his voice to sound silly/weird, not just deepens it; you can tell it's not how he normally speaks, but I guess it's much easier to pick up if you speak the language; - it feels like he speaks less confidently and pronounces the words slightly less clearly than Artyom, more likely to slur the words a bit and choke on his own saliva; I'd say it's because he doesn't speak often irl, it feels like his tongue moves more "lazily" in his mouth and he has to work harder to speak.

Artyom: - his voice is lower; - his growls sound more natural, he puts less effort into changing his voice because he doesn't have to deepen it as much as Nikita does; - his voice is more steady, less unpredictable, stays more or less the same; - less likely to make VERY weird sounds.

But I wouldn't say that these are any concrete rules that work all the time, you just need to get used to them.
