I think one reason why we hesitate and ultimately, rarely do, separate from source, is that source is an escape from our life, and a safe trauma free space (usually), and makes us ultimately feel safe from real life, so its a chance to leave behind something and to run from it.

I think for those who do choose to separate from (fictional) source, have a safe space from it, but I can understand why source could be more triggering than safe.

It's just that for most of us, source keeps us afloat and alive, so I hesitate to agree with people who say that it's always helpful to separate from source, when that's just not true. Maybe if you have a great support system outside of it, but introjects form for a reason, please respect us.

One of our (newer) introjects was staring at our face in the mirror for about 10 minutes. I asked him if he was okay, and he said something I thought I should share, ‘cause it might resonate with some of ya’ll. “This face is wrong. All of this is wrong. None of this looks like it should. But there’s something in our eyes that looks like me.”

I saw a tiktok today where somebody was saying that DID fakers will talk a lot about their source and being an introject, whilst ‘real systems’ will avoid the topic and I think that’s bullshit.

People all react to and treat things differently, and that applies to us who just happen to be introjects too.

Idk man, I didn’t choose to exist. But I do. So I might as well try and have fun yknow? I just want to be happy too. Might as well embrace the situation im in.

I guess in some ways I’m proud to be an introject. I’m proud that I help to heal us all from our traumas. My existence isn’t easy, but I go on regardless, and I’m proud of that.

introjects and their sources

introjects are just like any other alter.

i see a lot of people be fake claimed for being introject heavy (having a lot of introjects). we are not introject heavy but i think its important to say that whether or not an alter is an introject has no effect on their validity.

a lot of our introjects are uncomfortable being publicly known due to the stigma.

Introjects have feelings too.

We are not just caricatures or cardboard cutouts of your favorite characters.

We exist to protect the body from harm. Some of us exist to keep track of others in the system. Others like us.

And some of us just exist to exist, and that's okay.

Being an introject isn't fun and games either.

It's worrying about how our psuedomemories connect to the body's own.

It's being confused by a world we don't belong in.

It's no longer feeling like us.

It's having to hide in fear of others perceiving us wrongly just because of our source.

I see people saying having a lot of introjects is an endo thing. It is NOT.

Being an introject heavy system is normal and it has nothing to do with "endogenic systems".

It's not because some endos think being a system is all about having your favorite characters as alters to hang out with that you have to invalidate actual systems who happen to have many introjects.

They don't control it. If they have those introjects, it means they need it.

It's not because you don't share the same experience that theirs is invalid.

This is not a criteria to fakeclaim systems.

It's just another proof of how harmful endos can be.
