Introjects do not have to show up being exactly like their source. They do not have to know who they are or even who their source is the second they show up. They can take their time figuring out who they are and also deciding who they want to be, as any system member or even any person gets to do. They can decide what parts of their source they actually want to be like or things they want to change; they don't have to be like their source and it doesn't make them any more or less valid. They can still call themselves an introject, no matter how they got there.

take your time. a baby doesn't know who they are immediately, and neither do you.

We all know that introjects are supposed to be loved and cared for, and they deserve all the good things like the rest of the system.

But I've noticed some shoutouts were missing. So:

Shoutout to introjects who are both fictives and factives of one person (from your fellow fictive & factive of one person).

Shoutout to introjects who are both fictives and factives of multiple people/sources.

Shoutout to introjects who have multiple sources that are completely unrelated to each other.

Shoutout to introjects of OCs and DnD characters.

Shoutout to introjects of mainstream/popular media.

Shoutout to introjects of people the system knew personally IRL.

Shoutout to introjects of abusers in the system's life that are trying to heal.

Shoutout to nonhuman introjects that were also nonhuman in source (and are often considered "horrifying" or "scary").

Shoutout to introjects that have a source but are still brainmade by like a half at least.

Shoutout to introjects from anime.

Shoutout to introjects from movies/series.

Shoutout to introjects from books.

Shoutout to introjects of inanimate objects.

Shoutout to introjects who are scared of telling others they're introjecrs because of the hate and stigma the DID/OSDD community still has, especially against factives.

Shoutout to introjects whose roles make absolutely no sense to others but perfect sense to the system.

Y'all are loved, cared for, respected, and acknowledged. If not by other people, then on this blog. You are all valid and welcome on our blog, you deserve to exist, and whoever tells you otherwise should be punched in the face.

ily systems who’s introjects don’t wanna disconnect from their source because it is so entwined with who you are.

ily psychotics who want to keep some of your delusions and hallucinations because they don’t cause you stress.

ily maladaptive daydreamers who don’t wanna quit daydreaming altogether and instead want to keep the aspects that are good and comforting.

ily people who realize that healing isn’t always casting away everything that made you divergent. that sometimes it’s about managing the parts that are bad and keeping the parts that are good.

You know, a lot of people say "you don't choose your headmates". Especially in regards to villains or similar types of headmates/introjects

However, some plurals do choose their headmates. Some plurals do choose to have headmates that other people aren't going to be comfortable with and that's ok. There's no shame in that

So here's a shout out to the plurals/systems that DO choose headmates like this. Here's to those of us that DO want these people in our system. Here's to those of us that cherish these headmates despite what anyone else thinks about them

I don't we've spoken about our system much here, but I wanted to give a shout out to 'canon divergent' introjects.

Introjects who's sexuality is different or contradicts canon

Introjects who's gender is different or contradictory to canon

Introjects with disabilities that they don't have in source

Introjects who have differing personalities, likes and interests

This goes out to all introjects who are 'different' there is no shame in being different and we would personally encourage it!

Today's a good day to remember that engaging with one's source or counterpart does NOT make you less of a factive!

Factives do not have to distance themselves from their source/counterpart. They don't have to change their name, hide everything about themselves, or forget their entire past/parallel lives if they don't want to or can't.

Moving on from their source and being a post-factive makes some people happy and heal, but if it isn't for you, you do not have to do that. Your way of existing, coping, and doing things does not have to follow the common narrative.

Some factives are day-trippers who are still living their other lives. Trying to be a post-factive in that case can be harmful, or even impossible. Other factives cannot or doesn't want to disengage with their source because they (or their systemmates) enjoy their source (or the source's works). In this case, why would you cut off something/someone that makes you(&) happy? Either, both, or any other reason, does not make you less of a factive.

Engaging with your source or counterpart does not suddenly make your existence unhealthy. It also does not make your identity harmful - even if you do it to make yourself be more like the source.

(Or, more like yourself! I know fiction-folks and nonhumans who engage with source or species images/writings to make themselves feel euphoric and more Them. Factives are also allowed to do so. Factives should not be judged for wanting to feel euphoric in their fact-identity!)

And yes, they are still their own person and an alternate version of the counterpart! They do not have to only choose one.

I feel so sorry for all you systems (yes, all you systems, disordered or not) that have introjects from problematic sources

Fictives from media whose creators are known to be horrible. Factives whose sources are the literal scum of the earth. Like, honestly, you guys got the serious short end of the stick-

You are valid, you cannot control what alters split. We ourselves are polyfragmented and tend to get new alters almost daily, it’s just how our brain works. We also have autism and ADHD so we tend to get fictives from spins and hyperfixations way more frequently.

You didn’t choose to be a system, you didnt choose to have trauma, you didn’t choose to split.

actually rq before we go to bed. reminder to introjects that you are not your source. this includes fictives, factives, fuzztives, mixtives, whatever. you are not your source. your problems aren't necessarily the same as they were in source. they can be, sure, but they aren't always.

factives, i know it can be difficult when the cc or whoever you're an introject of does something stupid or harmful. but that does not mean you are a bad person. you are your own person with your own thoughts capable of your own actions and you don't have to be them. it's hard to remember sometimes when discourse comes up regarding something your "source person" did (i cant think of a better term at the moment), but you are your own person and you are valid. its okay. you can breathe.

Hi guys if someone is an introject and their sexuality / gender orientation / name / pronouns or anything about them doesn't like up with their source don't be weird about it!!

We have had so many people be weird to us because we are slightly different from source and honestly that's so fucked up. Be better :)
