X-Men: The Animated Series/X-Men '97:

Scott, Jean, Henry, Rogue and Logan are pansexual.

Ororo, Remy, Kurt and Jubilee are bisexual.

Morph is still non-binary.

Charles is gay (from what I've gathered, he wasn't previously married in this universe nor does he have any children.....as far as we know).

And Bishop is asexual.

Scott and Jean, Rogue and Remy, and Logan and Morph are the resident couples.

Before he got with Morph, previously had feelings for not only Jean, but also Scott.

And unfortunately, he was kinda deep in the closet.

Ororo is dating Yukio, who she was introduced to by Logan.

they're both queer (not really a niche headcanon but i'm putting it)

it took zed many months to get over the dog imitation habit

(ignoring the queer headcanon for a sec) addison is the biggest ally to ever ally. like one of those obnoxious allies but it works for her

^full on rainbow cake and celebration when literally anyone comes out, but she'll also be lowkey if requested

they are "me? obsessed with you? yes, yes i am" personified (about each other, ofc)

addison was zed's anchor when it came time to learn how to control his zombie state (similar to kipo and her anchor from kataow)

addison knows enough of the zombie language to have conversations but struggles with pronunciation (i'm slightly projecting with this one i fear)

they're literally always holding hands or linking their arms/pinkies (literally canon)

addison lets zoey dress her up and do her hair, especially after she got her true alien hair

^zed has a whole album of pictures of addison after zoey's makeovers (simply just because he loves them both so much, literally only like 3 were taken for funny reasons)

zed has dyscalculia but thought that it was just a zombie brain issue for the longest time (yes, he's canonically top of his class. yes, i'm giving him dyscalculia. both can be true)

^once he figured out what he had, he had to be practically begged by addison and his friends to ask for accommodations

addison is insanely touch-starved but presents herself like she's not (i definitely feel like dale and missy weren't the most physically affectionate parents, and i assume that angie (her most touchy relative) died when addison was young)

addison is closer to eliza and bonzo than zed is to bree (this is pretty much supported by a handful of scenes in the movies but whatever)

^don't get it confused, zed and bree are still very friendly to each other, as she is addison's best friend and bonzo's girlfriend

addison's baked dessert of choice is muffins, especially fruit muffins

^zed hates the sensation of cooked fruit (we're projecting again) but he eats them anyway to make addison happy

^once addison finds out he doesn't like cooked fruit, she then feels really bad for giving him so many muffins to taste-test and recruits zoey and bonzo instead

zed is greek (at least on his dad's side, due to the "-polis")

zed ends up pursuing a career that does not require more years of school due to his gifted-kid burnout (we all know he has it) being so bad

^addison most likely pursued something in the hospitality industry, became a politician like her mom (but like an actually good one), or became a defense lawyer

Hearts of Heroes series by Molly J. Bragg. They're more romance than superheroes, but once you know what to expect it's GREAT.

Scatter is about a US Deputy Marshal who gets promoted to work with the team around the superhero Focus. From the first moment on, there is something strange between her and Focus, but only when she accidentally time travels back to the early 90's begins she to realize that she may be Focus' mysterious long-lost partner, Scatter.

Transistor is about a woman who gains superpowers because the doctors forget to deactivate the supercomputer used in her gender-affirming surgery. It only really becomes an issue when an angry angel comes after her neighbour and long-term crush, very determined to kill her.

Aether has a disabled protagonist, who dies when the building blows up during an experiment. Luckily for her, her consciousness gets somehow preserved, and she gains extremely strong powers. Now she just has to stop the guy who caused the accident from doing it again...

Rhapsody isn't out yet, but based on the summary, it is going to go more into the dragon side of the lore.

You didn't want to go to the stupid spooky haunted house with your friends. But it was this or be forced to go to some that party and smell throw up for the next 5 hours. This was better

You enter the house with your friends and frown at the decrepit state of the house. You touch the walls and feel ash and dust on your hands. You also felt something touch back. You shiver and walk away from the house

Your friends are interested in seeing if they can find some ghosts. You're more interested in finding out what happened.

Why was this beautiful mansion abandoned and who is it haunting?

You hear a scream and lightning crackles in the air. The lights come on and in the foyer sits a beautiful fat black woman. Her head isn't turned towards you.

You scream and flinch causing her head to snap back and look at you. She's startled by you and takes a breath before she screams.

She asks what you're doing here and you day investigating a haunted house with your dumbass friends. She makes a face and hands you her business card. She's a real estate agent. So they house isn't haunted. It's just olf as fuck and under renovation. And yall are trespassing.

You apologize and face palm, telling her that you'll quickly find your friends and leave.

She decides there's no need for that and you should join her in the kitchen for something to eat. It is storming after all. And right on que, heavy thunder booms across the sky.

The lights flicker and you rush after her, not noticing that when the lights flicker, so does her form.

She offers you some freshly roasted venison, some cornbread, and some backed mac n cheese. You cry at almost the taste of home reminded of your grandmother's cooking.

You can feel your belly swelling against your costume. You swear you hear the old velvet chair creak under your ass. And you feel your chin wobble as you eat.

You don't notice as the food coma takes over the weakness in your heart. How your face has become slightly ashen. How your muscles have begun to stiffen and rigid. Or the fact that when the woman touches you. You don't realize her hand goes through you.

When you wake up, you feel different. Heavier and lighter at the same time. You're not really sure how that worked. The woman gazes over you fondly, now dressed in something from the 18th century.

"Don't worry my love, your friends can join us in our eternal paradise. After all, I'm just dying for some guests."

"Why's it necessary to have transphobes calling X character their deadname-" To show exactly what we face. That it is ugly and unnecessary. To parallel their grandmum fumbling but doing their best. To show how I still have to hear my birth name in legal settings. To show that my mom isn't really an ally but is trying for my sake. to show humanity and that it isn't just easy A B C the character is This without even Trying. To connect with a varied audience. Why the entirety of fuck do you want it sugar coated and dumbed down for you? In a perfect world yes it DOESN'T MATTER. But for how often it does matter - IT MATTERS. It matters that I get to see this character facing the harship I have faced AND SHRUGGING IT OFF. It does MATTER that their family accepts them even if they struggle with correcting the pronoun they use. The Star Beast handled this correctly and I'm glad our LGBT rep producer handled this the way he did. I'm sorry that the younger generations don't appreciate this the way I do.

I'm so sorry but I'm going to talk about supernatural in the year of our lord 2023, because I just finished good omens season 2 and the way these shows occupy a very similar space in fandom attitudes is driving me insane.

In so many ways, good omens feels like what supernatural could have been, had they actually committed and not flailed around with like 15 seasons of queerbaiting and the most unintentionally funny ending imaginable. You have the demons and the angels, armageddon, team free will vs god's master plan, years of pining and repression and no personal space and small declarations of love. But good omens does it with genuine vulnerability and comittment, not as bait or comic relief or last minute bury you gays. But, because it’s big and well-known and allows itself time and nuance to get where it’s going, so many people really treated it horribly before the drop of season 2 for not immediatelyand explicitly giving them what they wanted.

Like, after the end of season 1 you could really feel the way spn damaged viewers treated them as the same thing. It’s like people were so prepared to be tricked that they came in highly on guard and defensive. Thing is, this manifested as taking anything other than the most bland, on the nose and immediate gay rep as the creators queerbaiting and trying to worm their way out of committing to 'real' queer rep. Gaiman refuses to confirm your 'they are gay men' headcanons? Clearly him being a coward and not the characters, explicitly, being neither gay nor men. Characters have a very close relationship but no kiss? Clearly queerbaiting and not an affirmation of ace/aro relationships, queerplatonic relationships, or even plain old platonic relationships.

There is so much hurt from years of stereotypes and queerbaiting and bury your gays that any attempt to tell a complex queer story - one where relationships take time, or where they don’t always happen, or where horror or tragedy strikes, become nigh on impossible. It becomes hard to distinguish subtext used to be genuine and subtle and queer-friendly from subtext used to queerbait and make fun, and rather than making the effort to tell them apart and giving stories a chance (and taking the risk of getting hurt) all rep must be distilled into the epitome of 'gay' before it’s accepted as good, because that way you cannot be tricked. Hell, just the way it’s referred to as 'rep' rather than 'characters' is telling.

This is noticeable in the way spn fan spaces talk about Cas, too; he’s always 'the gay angel', never the bisexual angel (despite having had female love interests) or the asexual angel (despite being largely uninterested in sex) or the nonbinary angel (despite not being human and on occassion using female vessels as well as male). Does Meg Masters mean nothing to you. Just. Please allow stories their nuance and their time and their right to not always cater to your ship in the exact way you want (or at all) without declaring them bait. It makes you look very silly when you come crawling back the moment a kiss happens.
