While Edward was happy to dance around the point, Eliza was not. She needed to know. His actions spoke loudly, but she needed to hear the words from his lips. "No, I loved them," she says softly; approaching him quickly to get out of the wind. "Edward," she's shaking a little, "Edward did you mean it? Because I need you to say it, to me. I need to hear it."

He breathes out a sigh of relief. Eliza had liked - no, loved the flowers but as just he'd feared, this was more than about hyacinths and lillies. This was something deeper, an apology he'd yet to voice and suddenly all the hours Edward had mentally dedicated to this moment don't seem like they're anywhere near enough. "Did I mean it? Of course I did." He starts, swallowing as he trails off. She's so close to him, body trembling a little and he's not sure it's just from the temperature beginning to drop. The sun continues falling, golden glow beginning to fade but Eliza remains as stunning as ever, bright emerald eyes giving him the momentum to continue. "The flowers, the letter. I meant all of it, Eliza. Granted it took some time to bribe one of the guards to take my order and ensure it was all delivered to the right address but I'm... guessing that's not what you're asking about?" Edward says. Gods, why was this so hard? He wasn't in the habit of apologizing, had never done so seriously in his life but Eliza was waiting and he owed it to her. He owed her that much after what he'd said, the man sighing as he continued. "I was... hasty with what I said. Back in the library when you offered me that drink. It wasn't right of me to accuse you the way I did, implying you were doing so out of some form of deceit. Arkham is... a difficult place to be in as you well know, and I guess... what I'm trying to say is that... well." He breathes. It was now or never, and as much as it pains him to say it, Edward forces himself to do so anyway, eyes of cornflower blue maintaining contact with those of verdant green. "I'm sorry."

Tim: What the actual heck are you on about?

Jason: Because I SWEAR Bruce has daddy issues for Dick.

Jason: No, think about it. Someone with daddy issues has: Fear of abandonment, difficulty trusting a partner, feeling insecure in a relationship, being clingy or possessive, needing constant reassurance, being easily jealous or suspicious, and attracting abusive partners.

Tim: *panicking* Hold-

Jason: *on a roll* NO. Bruce literally stalks dick and gets mad and scared over him leaving, he doesn't trust his robins to meet his standards, he constantly trauma-dumps on Alfred about his and Dick’s relationship, and he’s super clingy and possessive when it comes to Dick—like, look at the Titans! He’s obsessed. He literally asks Dick if things are alright between them CONSTANTLY. Abusive partners? I don't mean to talk shit about Talia and Selina but they're literally villains.

Tim: *having a crisis*

Jason: Bruce Wayne- the first man to have daddy issues... in reverse.

Tim: *whimpering* Please stop talking.

Jason: ...But wait... all these things... doesn't Dick have some of them too?!

Tim: NO!

Jason: *speeding up* No, no.. HOLY SHIT, IT'S A CYCLE! Bruce is feeding into Dick's issues and Dick is feeding into Bruce's because Bruce is looking for validation from Dick and Dick is looking for validation in Bruce and they-

Tim: *frantically calling* KON, COME PICK ME UP. I'M SCARED.
