"Henderson, I already told you not to wipe your feet on the inside of my car"
"Must've slipped off my mind"
"I've been your chaperone- wait a second- I'm your goddamn babysitter for the past 3 years!"
"Just step on it, already!"
"Remind me why I'm being friends with you" Steve turns on the engine of his car and held onto the steering wheel
"It's because I'm a great person"
Steve chuckles as he shakes his head but a fond smile is evident on his lips
"What time should I pick you up?"
"The usual"
Dustin talks about his night yesterday after school with the whole segment of the D&D Campaign, while listening as he kept his eyes on the road, I think he could make a word count on how many times he mentioned Eddie
Steve watches his young friend steps outside of his car, "Okay, see ya"
He's heading on his way to Family Video, where she meets Robin sitting on the front stairs
"What are you doing?" He asks as he gets outside of his car and puts his keys inside of of his pocket
"I guess, we're both too early, too early that Kevin hasn't even arrived yet" Robin stood up as she walks closer to Steve
Steve looked behind him, there's a new diner in town that he hasn't been it yet
"Wanna go there and eat some breakfast?" He nudge his head on the facility that he's looking at
Robin follows his gaze and clasps both of her hands together "Let's go, I'm getting bored here for waiting"
Once they get inside, the smell of brewed black coffee invades both of their noses and the sweet scent of pancakes and waffles
Robin already got an eye on the waitress who is serving some delicious fully packed breakfast plate, she swore that she is drooling over it and it made Steve chuckle
Steve is always been a pancake and bacon kind of a guy, he likes the combination of sweet and salty, so, that's where he is aiming for
Both of them saw a table that is near to window, they sat together across from each other
The male waiter was about to gave them menu's but they dismissed it
He nods gladly as he calls someone else to fill up their order
"Hello, goodmorning, what's your order-"
"Hi, can I get-"
Oh my fucking god
Holy fuck
It's you
His mind is going ablazes because he pretty much knew himself that he has a 20/20 vision
But at this time? All of his insides are overheated
He hasn't seen you since....the prom
Fuck, the memories starts to take him back
You just finished your last school year on that history that you both happened before and you move out of the school
Not only moved out of school, but you also left the town, Hawkins Indiana
Yes, you left.... without sparing him a single word about your departure
The town that you've never wouldn't have thought you could ever get back to
But, this is your hometown where you truly grew up in
You only decided to comeback since
You got homesick
You missed your family, that's why you take the chance to finally be with them
Temporarily
You clear your throat, you try to mask up your expression as you completely forgotten his companion that you briefly glanced and you noticed her confused look at you
She darts back and forth on you and Steve
You remained civilized, "What can I get for you?"
You say softly as you clicked your pen and holding up your notepad
He blinks as he takes a deep breath, "Uh- Pancake and Bacon and Coffee"
Damn, you wished there's a machine to mind sweep your entire memory of him
You still remember it
He still eats the same way
"Okay, um, should I bring creamer and sugar?"
"Yes, please"
Shit, he still makes his coffee the same way too
Fuck, fuck, fuck
Who in the right mind that you chose to have your vacation here?
When you could do it somewhere else
You trust yourself too much that you thought you won't be able to see this familiar face again
You nod but you can feel his eyes on you
You look incredible
Of course, he'll take every chance to look at you
You cut your hair shorter, you even changed it into different shade of color, your natural dark brown is gone, it turned into more lighter brown
The wavy length and the bangs looks so perfect on you is shaping your face that he still does love until now
You dress so differently now too, he could tell by your silver rings and....
A piercing? You have three earlobes now
He adores how you wear your makeup, not too flashy but it enhances your features
He is delighted to see your face again, he never thought that the universe will give him another glimpse of you even is just like this
A part of him that made him sad for a sec, it's understandable that you changed your whole appearance
You changed because you want to forget who you were before
You have to remove every single thing about how you look that reminded of him
Maybe in another life....
You're happy together
You motion to Robin who is still absolutely puzzled from the not so obvious look of recognition form the both of you
She could already tell that is something is deep between the two of you
Before she tells her order, he catches Steve who is not even afraid to gape on you, he's not even trying to hide it until she spoke up and he heard her voice
He got shy all of the sudden and runs his fingers through his hair
"The Breakfast meal?"
"Yeah, right that one"
"A drink along with that?"
"Oh, a cup of coffee too as well"
You nod as you clicked back your pen as you tear off the paper from your notepad
"It'll be ready in a minute" you say, you offer the both of them with a small smile as you finally take your leave
Robin leans forward with her hands together, "Okay, what was that?"
"What?" He acts clueless, he knows Robin won't drop the scenario that just happened
Robin chuckles in amusement "Well, you tell me" she nudges her head to you
He glances at you with those eyes, you can still freaking feel them on you
You start cleaning the table and picked up the tip from a another customer
"Robs-"
"Don't you dare "Robs" me and don't you ever lie to me" she throws her hands up as she raises both of her eyebrows at him
He sighs as he scratches the back of his neck
"Do I really need to tell you?" He shuts his eyes for a second as he takes a deep breath
"Uh yeah? Because that look it isn't something that is far beyond that you just know the person"
"You knew her"
She leans backward as she crosses both of her arms
She can't even tell if she just struck off a nerve or offended him
"I'm just messing with you, dingus, it's okay-"
"No-No, it's just-" he exhales
"it's been a while since I saw her" he speaks in a voice that his bestfriend couldn't ever expected to hear
It sounds so broken, it increases her pique of interest even more
What happened?
"I hesitated because-" he looks at her with guilty eyes "I think you're not going to look at me in the same way ever again"
Robin listens intently as she gestures her to keep going
"I am here to reassure you that I'm not going to judge you"
"I did something bad in the past, Robin, but I've changed"
"We all have done something wrong in our lives, Steve, the right way to do is to face it, hold yourself accountable for it, and learn from it, but that doesn't make you a bad person"
He looked at you again, you are now serving someone else a vanilla milkshake
"Yeah, you're probably right, but to her? I am"
Flashback to 1986
He spent all of his allowance that his father gave to him
All of his money going out all night in the town
The prom was one month ago
One month ago
He trying to do anything to get you out of his mind
He drank a lot of alcohol and gets drunk most of the time
But when the morning comes, it felt like he needs to start it all over again
He realizes that trying to forget you, it's just a waste of time
He wants you to come back, he needs you to come back
He'll do anything for it
Anything at all
He knows it won't be easy
He angrily crumpled and tear off all of the pictures that he had with his friends
Friends that aren't not even real
He knows that you're right about him, it's just his own stubborn mind who refuses it
He hates himself
No, scratch that, he loathes himself for becoming like this
His mom's words were very dear to him even it's just a simple phrase
"Don't try to be something that you're not"
Don't be a fucking people pleaser
Now, he got the point why you don't like these titles at school
The social cliques at the campus
It's also his own fault that he got into this
He wanted to be somebody
Even it hurts people that he loves the most
So, that same morning, he is so determined to be different this next coming school year
He trashed everything that upsets him, he even ditched some of his varsity jackets, all of his trophies he put them all in a case and placed them on the attic
Everyone is going crazy how he acted so differently at school
He just rolls his eyes at it, god, now he really fucking gets it why you're so ick to this
"They're so overdramatic at this stuff, I mean- what's the damn point?!?" your voice echoes to his mind
That's where he retired of being King Steve
Everytime he heard someone mentioning it, he just grimaces, winces and even cringed at it
He doesn't even Iike to be called on that name anymore
Sure, he is still good at his academics and sports but now ever since he pulled that "dropping his title" at school?
He is now getting the treatment of true colors
Now, he is out of that barrier of being on the top popular guy at school
His eyes and mind opened at your perspective
He can see it why, fuck, that adds more salt to the wound
He cannot even blame anyone for making him being this way
Maybe, high school is tough that's why he did it
But then, he notices a pattern of events on his life
Fuck, he is just like his father
He rarely visits the house and just talking about his work and didn't gave him a chance to speak what is going with his only son
He never paid attention, never even cared, not even felt any affection to him
But when he does, he just snaps at him, and tell him that being emotional is weak
Having feelings are weak?
How fucked up is that?
So, he kept his mouth shut even though he wanted to yell at his father
The only parent that he felt being loved is his own mom
His mom that left them both behind, he can still remember it
Because why?
His father cheated on her too
It's like a damn cycle, it making him violently vomit at the thought of it,
History repeats itself
He made a promise to himself that he won't ever be like his father
But, he already done it and it angers him even more
"Hey, Steve" he opens and locks the door behind him
Not "Hey, son" am I even your son? He thinks to himself as he keeps his eyes on the television his own father doesn't even noticed the obvious scowl on his face
"There's this woman at work, who-" he chuckles in a salacious way and it sends shivers down to his spine
"Who slapped me right after I kissed her and told me that she isn't interested in me" he chuckles yet again as he removes his coat
"She wears that outfit and expect me not to do anything? She did that in order to seduce me, she wants it" he scoffs as he shakes his head
He gotten so uncomfortable, he starts shifting from his seat
Steve needed this bottled up emotions to blow up
He wants and he needs his father to hear him out
"That's what you did to, Mom, too, huh?"
The silence is too loud, Steve is so fucking insane for doing this confrontation but he has to do it or else he will lose his mind
"What the fuck did you just say?" His dad grumbles as he stares down at his son with a fire on his eyes
He glares at him as he chuckles dryly, "You're so messed up that it hurts" he spats
"What are you even talking about?" He pushed him by the shoulder
"I hate that you're my dad!" He does the same action as he stumbles back, Steve thought his mind playing tricks at him but he swore for a brief moment that he saw his dad cracked
He is guilty, he is ashamed of it, he knows he is not a perfect father, he is not proud of it
15 year old, Steve would've been shitted on his pants for doing this but he is not afraid of it anymore
He is completely appalled, lost for words, the way his narcissistic exterior washed out on instant
"I lost the girl that I ever truly loved because of you!" He points at himself with anger and sadness swirling into his eyes
"Do you think it's easy for me to live out my life there knowing that my own fucking father is proud to have this mindset?!?" He steps closer as he makes hand motions to his head
"I can't just push you away because why? You're my dad, I-I can't just do that" He throws his hands up as he sighs in exasperation
"I-I have so much things that I wanted to scream out loud for you to hear because I've been carrying it for a long time and it really sucks because this argument isn't going to change anything" He is trying to so hard not to bawl in front of his old man but it his voice wavered badly but he didn't care
This is the most unfiltered thing he has ever done in his life and he knows for sure this will help him....A lot
"You've gone soft, Steve, that's the real world"
He looks at him with furrowed brows as he shooks his head
"I'm not gonna grow up to be just like you, asshole" He laughs incredulously as he starts picking up his shoulder bags and luggage
"Where do you think you're going, young man?"
"I'm going to leave because I'm sick of you and this big house"
"You're not able to survive out there without my help"
"You know for the first time in forever made me realize having a enormous fortune isn't necessary in life sometimes"
"You listen here-"
"What is fortune when you don't even have a good fucking relationship with your parents and household"
That's where he slams the door shut and breathes out a really long satisfying sigh with a proud smile on his face
He feels good, he feels great, he feels he has done something wonderful in his life
This is just the start of it
He takes his car keys and drove away like nothing ever happened
"Steve! Earth to Steve!" Robin clapping her hands right across to her bestfriends face
"What- I'm sorry" he says as he began shifting on his seat
"Okay, so to be clear, y'all are highschool sweethearts before-" Robin squints her eyes as she make gestures to her expressive hands
"and I was...." His shoulders slumped down, he doesn't even want to finish the sentence
"King Steve" Robin shrug both of her shoulders as she gave a sympathetic smile
"yeah" A small but sad smile flashes on his lips as he ducks his head down in shame
Robin is obviously needs some more information to fully understand what happened to your relationship with him
"Is it so bad?"
"is far more than bad, Robs"
"Did you kill someone?"
Steve eyes widened as he genuinely laughed, "N-No- I didn't!"
She chuckles but she is glad she made him laugh, "So, what is it then?"
He just made this one look to Robin and as she tries to read his eyes, her smile drops
"Oh"
As if you we're on cue, you placed their orders on their table as Robin made a stressful brush up to her hair as she glances at you
"Your order's are complete, just call me if you're ready to-"
"We can pay now" Robin's voice is firm but a hint of disappoint surrounding at the tone of her voice
You looked over at Steve for a sec who still gave you those pleading eyes as you tried your best to look away as you gave the receipt to them
You've taken both of their payment as you walk away quietly
Did just Steve talked about you to her?
Fuck
"Robin- I"
"I know it's in the past, It isn't my place to open up the wound again" she sighs as she tug up a smile to him
He smiles as he nods to her words, he is worried that this could ruin their friendship
"But I am fond that you chose to change, Steve, you changed for her" she places her palm on top of his as she pats it gently
"Do you still love her?" Robin asks him as she tries to search his eyes
She can see it, the same devotion is still there, it never died and it never will be
His last words to you echoed into his mind
"I can't never love again, I only want you"
And it truly did
He still does
Robin chuckles slightly to Steve with those lovesick eyes, "Of course, you do"
"You can't never get over with your first love"
You're done with the night as you put on your jacket along with your sling bag on the shoulder
But when the time you got inside of your car, your vehicle won't start up everytime you try it won't ever run
You sigh in frustration "Goddamn it!"
You look over to the other side of the road, you saw Steve locking up the doors at the Family Video
Shit, the universe is really testing you
You walked outside of your car as you close the door with a slam as you start to pace around it
You fumbled with the stuff inside of your bag as you pulled out a cigarette stick and you flick the lighter in your pocket
You inhale deeply as you blow out the smoke, you massage the back of your neck as you try to figure how to get the fuck outta here
You're mad that you're hopeless to get home
The last thing that you wanna do and the last option is to get ride home with Steve
You felt a hand behind you, you shrieked as you almost punched him in the face
"Woah- it's just me!" He held both of your wrist as he takes as step foot back to dodge your aim
You huff as you tap off the excess from your cigarette, you mumbled a small "sorry"
Well, isn't this great? Your first conversation with him after what??? 3 years???
He doesn't want to react because he hasn't seen you smoke before, I mean- you can do what you want but both of you really did changed
Did you developed anything else such as bad habits? that added another pang into his chest seeing you do things that you've never done before
He looked over to your car, "What happened?"
You blew out the smoke as turn your head into the other side, you try your best to remain calm but it feels all too much when he is this close to you "My car won't start"
"I can take you home, I know a place that can fix your car tomorrow" he suggest as he offers you a ride home respectfully, you can see that
Something is not right to him and it's giving you the creeps not in a bad way but why do he seems so nice? Is it because of you or he changed too?
You have no other choice, the terminal closes up pretty early, so, there's no train or bus to take
Only for tonight, just this night
You blew out the last smoke as you stub the cigarette into the nearest ashtray near the trash can
His eyes are glued to you, he watches your every move, of course, he knows that you wanna wrap this all up and forget all of this ever happened
As much as he wanted to talk to you ask you if you're okay, he respects your peace and boundaries
"Okay" you walk back up to him as the both of you crossed the road
What the fuck? Is he a gentleman now? You're not used to him like this, opening up the car door for you?
You flashed him a small but also confused smile as he jogs into the driver's seat
You saw the oh so familiar necklace that hangs on the rearview mirror
You made that necklace to him
Why does he still keep it?
He starts the engine as he put his hand over the headrest as he drives backwards
The drive was....so awkward and how quiet it is ringing to his brain
You just busied yourself watching all of the scenery outside in the car window as you passed by into different places
He takes his chances to glance at you
My god, he can't believe that you can still made him feel like this way
You crossed your leg that made your skirt rides up a little, he clears his throat
"Uh, so, which way should I go to?"
"Just turn here" you point out to him
He brings the car around the different small houses and his breath staggered he recognizes it
Oh, you're here because of your family
You're only having a vacation
"Stop here!" The tires screech as he stops abruptly and you accidentally bring yourself closer to him that he almost almost can kiss your lips in just one move
His breath hitched at the gap between the two of you
Your eyes flit to his and to his lips
It felt like eons that you both just stare for each other at the moment
You know and he knows
Fuck, you still love him
"I-I gotta go" you slowly move back up as you open the door but before you get outside, you softly say "thank you" and closed the door
You didn't give him a chance to reply as you quickly grab your house keys to unlock the front door
He sighs as he massages his forehead, he rolls up the windows before you get inside
"Take care" he says as you only nod and closed the door behind you
You squeezed your eyes shut at whatever that was inside of his car
"What are you even looking for?" He says not looking at you as he looks at a Nazareth vinyl
"Michael Jackson's Bad album" you say as you squealed gleefully when you found the one you were looking for
"We're going to be late for the movie, sweetheart" he hold both of your shoulders to grab your attention
"They're aren't going to start without us, Eddie" you say as you smirk at him as you walk away
"We have to buy popcorn-" he whines jokingly as he kept being all dramatic while he slings his arm around yours
"and drinks and other goodie stuff, I know, I'm just gonna pay this, stay calm" you giggled as you excitedly take the purchased album into your hands
"Hey, Eddie!" The same girl with the dusty blonde hair greets him the same time as you both are about to leave the record store
You can't never avoid him, huh?
She looks at you and your hand is wrapped around his forearm as she gives you a small wave
You only nod and smile, Steve is right behind her
"Dude, what's up?" Eddie greets him, right you forgot they studied in the same school
Of course, they knew each other, except for you because you left
You're nervous because of what Steve might think of you but you can't see anything on his face and his eyes
He doesn't seemed to mind that you're with someone else, there's no jealousy, mockery, sarcasm as he talks to Eddie
He doesn't even noticed how close you are at the metalhead
Meanwhile, Robin saw how you study him, but you look away you don't want to make him realize that you still care for him after all of this time and as she does as well
"Where are you two going?" Steve beams as he takes in how divine you look, Eddie didn't even catches it
"To the movies!" Eddie grins as he pulls you by his side as you roll your eyes playfully
"Are you guys going to watch Batman?" Robin gasps as she watches Eddie eyes goes big in excitement
"Yeah" you nod at her, Robin who is surprised that's the first ever interaction that you just had with her, so, she decided to introduce herself to you
"I'm Robin, by the way, I'm the bestfriend of Steve- ow!" He hits her by the shoulder as you chuckle in amusement in the way Robin punctuates and emphasizes the words to you
"We gotta go now" Eddie chuckles as he wraps his arms around you, but halts his tracks as he remembers something
"Sure, see you later" Steve nods as he purses his lips together as the both of them step inside
"Harrington, you could invite her to your party!" Eddie points at you and your close your eyes in embarrassment
You didn't tell Eddie about your history together with Steve but you did kinda....throw some hints at him about your past but didn't reveal the real name
Party? He still does that? you think to yourself
You saw how Steve became jittery all of the sudden as he tries to drop the topic right away but Robin, a glint of mischief on her eyes as she snaps her fingers at Eddie
Damn, you got yourself invited but you grew amused to the mystery girl
"I can't fucking believe you did that" he glares at his bestfriend who is pretending to be innocent as she walks away from him
"Oh- please, don't act that you didn't want that" she scoffs at his in denial behavior as she saw a vinyl that is similar to his situation
"You still want her, right?" Robin smirks as she gives the vinyl to him who is now gauging at his reaction
He takes the vinyl out of her hands without looking at it first but he laughs as soon as he saw the title
"Baby Come Back by The Player"
She wiggles her brows at him, he tries to kick her by the leg but she managed to dodge it
"Don't fuck it up this time, dingus"
"Trust me, I won't"
You had fun watching Batman with Eddie, he'll be right back with you as he headed at the men's restroom
You overheard a kid who is very defensive with his bestfriend, you try not to pry but until you heard the name "King Steve"
You've never looked around so fast in your entire life and your eyes fall onto the boy
"You're being friends with a douchebag-"
"He is not a douchebag!"
"Yeah, right, I heard he break girl's hearts like it was nothing-"
"T-That's not true!"
God, your mind is saying no but your heart is making you walk towards him
Curiosity got the best of you as you listen closely, but you stay alerted when things get heated
The poor kid, huffs as he shifts on his stance as he watches the two young ones left him
"He doesn't even like that name anymore, what a bunch of assholes"
"Hey, are you okay?"
He quickly swipes the tears away "Y-Yeah, I'm good"
He probably doesn't even remember you, "Dustin, right?"
"Yeah"
You smile sweetly at the kid, you really shouldn't ask a lot about him but you feel mystified of what you just witnessed, "Was that true? about what you said at Steve?"
"He cares a lot, he loves a lot, he is willing to do anything just to protect- Wait a second- who are you anyway?" He was getting into until he realizes that he is talking to a stranger and he paused
The kid missed the endearment on your eyes as you blink rapidly, you looked over your shoulder as you saw Eddie searching for you
"I'm gonna go now, bye" you say as he tries to chase you but you got lost in the crowd until he can't no longer see you
"Whoever that person is, that's so bizarre" he speaks for himself
"I have to tell this to Steve at the upcoming party"
He is not looking forward to it
But he wishes you were
He doubt that you will show up over at his house
But, honest to god, he thought the time stopped when I saw you walking by alongside with Eddie and Robin
His brain is muddled and his heart rate is increasingly so fast
"Hey, Steve-" Dustin jogs over to him but his mind is elsewhere as the door swings open
"Here we are" Eddie does his classic antics as he opens his arms as you chortled
"Welcome" Steve steps aside as he lets you all walk in
"Where's the drinks?" Robin feels so at home like she unashamedly looks through his refrigerator
"It's literally 7pm- don't you dare drink-" He puts his hands over his hips as he reasons with Robin
"Not that- I'm just thirsty" Robin rolls her eyes as she tries to explain
"You?" Dustin loudly made a sound that all of the guests caught their attention
You give him a small wide and a crooked smile and now you're regretting attending this
Steve clocked your reaction as he hold your shoulder leading you away from him
"Why are you point at her, Henderson?" Eddie is perplexed as he tries to understand the situation
"You mean- you didn't know?" Dustin bunches up his eyebrows at the metalhead
Steve glares at Robin who winced at the look that his bestfriend just gave him
"I think, you might want to sit down, Munson"
Steve has taken you in the backyard as he slides the door close
Oh, hell no
Not this place
Steve cringes what he just realized but he tries to keep his composure
"You still do parties, huh?"
He stare at you for a second, are you actually having a conversation with him?
"Uh no- we're going to have a movie marathon, not a party"
"Oh" you nod slowly in understanding as you stare at the swimming pool, you breathe in deeply as you keep your hands to yourself
Your sight of vision fell into Eddie, Robin, Dustin bickering at each other as you saw the guilty look on your metalhead bestfriend directed at you as you send him a small smile as you look away yet again
"I see that you told them"
"I-I'm sorry, I only told Robin-"
"Save it, Steve" your voice has gotten serious unlike earlier, but he can see it in your eyes that you're fighting between your emotions
You're trying your best to resist yourself for giving yourself away too fast
Steve's shoulders tensed as he looked up into the sky to find the right words to say to you
You deserve to know that, he needs you to know that him and Robin are nothing more than a platonic friendship
"Robin is just my bestfriend, she helped me"
"Help you?....with what?" You knit your brows together as you look at him in question with your arms crossed
"I- uh- I moved away from my dad after we- to live on my own independently" He suddenly became shy as he scratches the back of his neck as he averts his gaze somewhere else
That's where he truly see your eyes soften as your eyes went everywhere to his face
He can communicate properly with you now?
He is actually saying the truth to you?
You're not used to it and he knows he doesn't blame you
Before you can reply, Dustin calls out at the both of you as Steve sighs when you're the first one to walk away from him
"Hey, are you okay? dude?" Dustin asks him sincerely
"Yeah, man, I'm good" He lies, as he gives his young bestfriend a forced smile
False bravado, that's the mask that he's wearing all the time ever since you reappeared again
Tryna' keep up a smile that hides a tear
He wants you so bad, but how he will ever to win you back?
"Sweetheart, I'm so sorry, I didn't know-"
"It's fine, Eddie, it's not your fault"
"Do you want to leave?"
"No, I'm gonna stay, Eddie- it's alright, I promise"
"Just tell me, if you're not up for it anymore, okay?"
"Okay"
Everyone is a blobbering mess after seeing Dead Poets Society, except for you and Steve
You caught him giving you those eyes yet again like he was begging for you
Begging for you to give him a chance
He wants to talk to you, the scariest thing you could ever say to him that your doors are chained and he'll understand
But the thing is that, he can't live without you
He'll do anything to persuade you, convince you, make you believe that he is nothing like the "Steve" the one you've met before
If he could go back in time, he would redo everything
The moment when everyone is leaving and saying their goodbyes
He took your hand and he must swallow his shock because you let him hold you for the first time in forever
Eddie even talked to him while you were distracted by Robin, by him saying "I don't know what happened between the two of you that much but.... I'd get her back, man, whatever it takes"
"Can we talk?" He whispers as he puts you in the corner where no one else can see you both
"Steve-"
"Just give me the chance to make you see-"
Oh, Steve's brain just mushed down
Because you're fucking kissing him
He recovers as he cupped both of your cheeks as he gives into you
Your hand gets lost to his hair, god- he misses that a lot, your sweet scent, he's inhaling it so much that electrocutes his brain
The kiss went into seconds, minutes and feels like an hour
You don't know what's gotten into you but you know you're going to blame yourself for this
You already told yourself that your guard is up
But, your heart tells no otherwise and your body reacted, so, positively that it flushed down closer to his
You stopped yourself as you saw him chasing after your lips but then he saw how hurt you look, his heart drops to his stomach as he gulped
He is flustered and so are you, but he sees the recognition in your eyes, the realization
He flinched the way you angrily punched him in the chest all of the sudden as you wept in front of him
No words thrown out between the two of you
It's the same damn kiss
It never changed, it still feels the same, moves the same, the way both of your lips melded into one another is a complete shocker to you
He didn't care about your outburst as he let the tears fall from his face as he embraces you instead
He starts caressing your head as he tries to keep you calm on his warm hug
You held onto his shirt in a fist that you violently sobbed face flat in front of his chest
As much as you wanted to stay in that area
You begrudgingly dragged yourself away from him as you walked outside, not giving him a second look
He knocks off one of his picture frames as he slides his back down against the wall as he started crying
Love is embarrassing, isn't it?
3 years, 3 goddamn years, you both still yearn for each other
Your first kiss after 3 years invaded his mind the entire night, he stares at the empty space of his bed
God, he wishes that you were here next to him on his arms
You've never packed up your stuff so fast in your entire life
You're ready to leave first thing in the morning
The door bell rings and you hold your breath for a second
"Oh no, not you- Steve-" you tried to close the door but no to avail as he stepped his foot to prevent you from for not letting him in
He glanced at your luggage and bags that makes his stomach twist
"Have you used up all of it?" He says as he kept his eyes on you
"W-What are you even talking about?!?" You threw your notepad in the near table, fuck- you shouldn't have double checked too much on your lists before going out
He got you now, you can't escape this
"All the love in your heart"
That's where you avoid his eyes as he moves closer to you
"Ain't there nothing left for me?"
"Steve- stop!"
"That's right-"
"What-"
"A lot of people that I know what I did to you was foolish, anyone can see it"
You let your stubborn attitude subside as you listen to him
"There's was something and everything about you"
You take out a shuddering gasp as your eyes burn from the threatening tears
"You can blame it all on me, I was wrong, baby, I-I just can't live without you"
He could've done this before
Take the responsibility of his actions and not to sugarcoat every word and have the guts to hold the accountability of his mistakes
"Steve, you gotta move on-" you lie what you truly feel, what's stopping you?
"Baby come back, come back to me, please"
"S-Steve, I don't know if I can trust you-"
"I didn't realized what I had when you're were mine!"
Your guarded demeanor has shunned off as you let your arms dropped to your sides
"I-I confronted my dad after one month ago when we go on our separate ways, I-I know this is unbelievable but I removed everything that you didn't like with me, my friends, my title, all of it, and it did helped me to become a better person"
He looks straight into your eyes, he never looks away as he tries to make you understand
"And I'm so very sorry that pulling up that fucked up shit that I did before just so I can improve myself and to have a character development was utter bullshit, hurting you was never right"
You purse lips together as you shake your head in disbelief
"What I said back there was still true too"
"What do you mean?"
"That no matter what you do to me, whatever happens to the both of us, I'd still love you"
He cries, his face glows so red as he takes in every feeling that he's receiving
You're the first one yet again to kiss him
He yelped as he brings you closer to him, your hands went through his hair as you throw your arms around him, he dives in deeper earning a moan out of you
He breaks out of the kiss, your face went pale but he shuts off your thoughts with the words
"You sure, you want to do this?"
"Steve, yes, I do, I want you like you want me, I need you like I need you-"
You're about to dove back on him aggressively but something feels so different on his touches, it's not foreign but it's making you want to bawl at how he is so soft with you
His eyes crinkle in awe and delightment as he couldn't get anymore happier
He carries you upstairs as he puts you onto the bed carefully
He removes his shirt and his pants, you get out of your shoes and when you're about to remove the straps of your dress, he beats you to it as he slowly takes it off but not without kissing your neck
His hands goes under your skirt as he plays with the garter of your panties
You spoke his name so decadent that he nearly melted down on you
You held onto him by the shoulder blades as he finds the zipper on the back your dress, he unzips carefully and lovingly as he takes his sweet time to adore and treasure every single moment of you
This is not just sex, he never looked at you like the one from before only filled with lust
This is love and admiration and it touches your heart so deeply that it might've been stop beating for a few moments
It's unreal that he is doing this to you, it's also unreal that you let him do this to you
When all of it's left is your paired black lacy undergarments
You both stare together for a while as you held his cheeks as he rests on it
He smiles so wide that it actually hurts and so are you, your smile lingered everytime he looks at you
You raise yourself using your elbows as he unclasp your bra, he threw your bra across the floor somewhere, he can't help but to kiss you again, you mewl as you fall back down on the mattress, you grind yourself against him as he groans when felt how wet you are
You kept grinding yourself onto him as he grants your wish as the friction increases more
Next thing to remove is your panties, you whine, when he licked a stripe into your cunt
"Steve-"
"Yes, baby?"
"I wanna feel you"
You don't need him to ask him twice as his boxers flew off somewhere
He carefully enters your sopping aching hole as you both moan in pleasure
Your jaw falls slack as your furrowed brows crumpled up even more as you adjust to his size
He kisses every part of your body, worships it while you're losing your mind of how it feels so fucking good just like before
"F-Fuck" he curses, praising you as he kisses your jaw
He watches how your cunt clamps sucking him inch by inch, he grunts when you start clenching around him
You're drooling, your eyes are fucked out, you're brain is mashed up
You're a fucking goner
He kneads your breasts as you moan even louder, the squelching sounds that comes in and out of you is music to his ears
"S-Steve, pleas-e move!" you squeal and your voice becomes so tiny that you bit your lip
He spreads your legs far more wide as he grabs your hips harder
You arch your back when he picks up the pace and hitting the spot were you're mostly addicted
"Oh!"
Your eyes roll backwards as your mouth hangs "0" shapes as Steve watches your expression contorts in pleasure
Breasts are jiggling, he goes faster and faster, he places himself on the crook of your neck as he puts lovebites all over it
You locked him in place as you can't keep your suppressed screams any longer
"Steve!"
"Christ-"
You scream his name so loud that his brain shortcircuit as you both came undone
He peels himself off of you but you held him close
"No, don't pull out just yet"
You tap him by the shoulders as you switched positions, he let out a sharp gasp at the angle that you're on top of him
Despite the overstimulation, you grind yourself onto him
"Woah- baby, fuck-"
"Yeah?"
"Don't give me that look- I'm gonna bust"
You giggled as you close your eyes at the sweet sensation as your brows pulled together and you moan when you start to bounce on his cock
Holy fucking shit, you rocked up his world
His hands are everywhere literally setting you on fire, he brings you closer as you continue to do your job as you look at him with blacked out eyes
His eyes got even more darker as he copies your move making your head fell onto the side allowing him the access to kiss your neck
You both went off to one another as you both entered another climax
You fell asleep together after 3 years
The scenario you'll never thought you could experience again
You woke up in a cold empty bed as you look around in your room, you can't see his clothes anymore, maybe he's in downstairs
The last night events flashes right before your very eyes as you bring your knees up
A tinge of pink on your cheeks as you try to remember every detail happened last night you were so beyond elated and in a complete bliss
You wore your dress again as you went downstairs only to find Robin
"Robin?" You ask in confusion, not that you don't want her here but it's just so random
"Hi" she waves awkwardly as she scratches her head
"What are you doing in here? Where's Steve?" You look for him again but it seems like he left
"Don't freak out-" She breathes out
You raise both of your eyebrows as you motion for her to continue
"He's at the airport" She says as she starts following you making you stay focus but she has no power to control you
"What?" You take your car keys as you went inside the vehicle and turn on your engine
"Wait- stop! He didn't told me the reason why! He just said he'll be at the airport!" She shouts out loud as she rests her back against your front door
"Okay, I'll be here at your house! Steve and his ridiculous lovelife- I swear to god- I'm gonna kick him in the ass" she slumps down in defeat as she mutters words under her breath
Why would he leave you?
Fuck, no- did he regret it again?
Tears well up in your eyes as your stomach began to churn as you fighting for your dear life to get into the airport as fast as you could
No, Steve wouldn't- stop overthinking- maybe, he has a reason
He won't just leave you like this, you felt how soft and he made you feel like you're the only person on his life
He made you think that the both of you had a future
So, why would he leave without a word?
You ran as your feet can take you, but when you saw the airplane takes it flight, you rest your head against the window and sobbed
The familiar voice calls your name and you look around a bewildered Steve who is now walking towards you
"Baby, what are you doing-"
"I thought you left me" you hold him tight as you looked at him in the eyes
"You're not going to leave me? Are you?" Your voice sounds so small that he doesn't want to see you crying anymore
"Honey, I'm here, I would rather jump off a cliff for leaving you all alone again, okay?" He reassures you as your worried features decreases but there's still uncertainty on your eyes as he takes a deep breath
"Robin is in the house, I don't-" he cuts you off as he tuts
"Ah-ah, let me speak- the airline called me in the morning and told me that the schedule that I booked in for is going to take off and of course, that would be a disaster since I used half of my expenses for the flight right? So, I made a decision on the spot- I called Robin to accompany you because you were peacefully asleep, baby, I don't wanna wake you and I was about to come back to you and tell you that you're coming with me" he held up in front of your face of two airplane tickets
Your unsureness totally fades away as you look at the ticket, you read aloud what it says
"Chicago?"
"Yeah, I'm going to take you with me while I study for college"
"I actually want to take master's degree too"
"Yeah? We can go together"
A big smile grows on your lips as you step forward to him as he closes the gap and gives you the most promising kiss
"We better start packing up soon"
"We sure are"
"I love you"
He kisses your cheek, "I don't think I could love you more, baby, I love you more than anything"
special mention to @savage-aespa, this person here is the main reason why I made this fic! literally giving me an idea that there's a possibility for them to be together and I hope I did my job alright! I'm sorry, it took me a month to finish this up and if you made it here, thank you so so much for reading, your support and your kindness will always be appreciated! take care always! 🥹🫶🏻✨

Hush Hush Never Tell
Yip notes: Guess my works were your bedtime stories XD. Also how did you freaking know I wanted to do a concept like this??? And You picked Kung Lao I've been wanting to give him some love.
Pairing: Kung Lao x Gn reader
Warnings‼️: NSFW, Oral sex (both receive)
Tumblr media
You sat on Kung Lao’s lap with your arms wrapped around his neck and your lips smothering his. A steamy make-out session was at play. You had Kung Lao all hot and bothered from the beginning.
He hadn’t seen you since he went to the Wu Shi Academy. He knew he had to focus on his training but his mind would wander to the thought of you. He would think about holding you and kissing you from head to toe. He would imagine how your skin would feel against his and where your hands would wander. Then you came for a visit. Finally, he got to spend time with the love of his life. And maybe he could get rid of that inner frustration that had been building up since the last time he saw you.
He was very grabby today. He squeezed wherever he could. You both grew more and more desperate to the point you started grinding on his lap. You heard his breathing grow heavy and he began to whimper. Oh yeah, things are getting spicy. Nothing could ruin this moment.
Knock! Knock! Knock! FUCK!
Both of you heard Raiden calling for Kung Lao. You didn’t pay attention to what he was saying, you acted quickly. Your first instinct was to slip off of Kung Lao and hide under the table. Luckily the other side of the table was covered so no one would be able to see you were down there, only Kung Lao. Since he wasn’t answering Raiden decided to walk in. Kung Lao scooted his chair into the table more to prevent his friend from seeing his rock-hard boner. The only hint that something was going on was the slight blush on his face.
You heard some of their conversation. Raiden asked where you were, and Kung Lao had to lie by saying you were out for a walk. Little did the champion know that you were close by. This conversation might go on for a long time so you might as well get comfortable and have some fun.
When you looked forward you realized that your boyfriend's boner was not going down. It was pushing up against his pants. You knew it was uncomfortable for him so you decided to help him out a little. There was already a reaction from him. His hand went down to hint at you to not do that but did you listen? Fuck no! You’ve wanted to do this for a long time and now was your chance.
When you pulled down his pants his cock sprang out. Clearly it was happy to see you too. You saw the droplets of precum at the tip. It began to drip down and you took the chance to lean it and lick it up. Kung Lao’s eyes changed from a wide-eyed panic to half-lidded. His eyes rolled back a little before correcting.
“Are you alright, Kung Lao? Are you ill?” Raiden asked, believing his friend was suffering from something.
“Ah yeah…yeah I’m perfectly fine.” He lied through his teeth.
He tried to close his legs to prevent you from doing anything else but it was useless. You placed yourself between his legs. You were gonna have your fun right now.
You began to leave kisses all over it. They were gentle but it had an effect on Kung Lao. His nostrils were flaring up and he didn’t know where to put his hands. You gave him little licks on his tip. You’re killing him with your teasing. He wanted to thrust his hips but that would bring too much attention. Seeing how his legs jittered gave you the hint and you gave him what he wanted. Your tongue began to swirl around his tip.
Kung Lao’s hands were going crazy trying to keep himself under control. One of his hands was scratching at the table while the other was concealing his mouth just in case he couldn’t hold in any moans. Raiden suspected something was up but didn’t ask. He decided to go on and on about what they needed to do in regards to training. Kung Lao was not taking anything in. All he was thinking about was how good you were making him feel. You grew braver as this went on so you decided to take him all in. He felt your tongue slide down as your warm mouth surrounded his cock.
You’re gonna be the death of him.
He let out a whine and he began shaking a little. Raiden noticed and had to ask since Kung Lao was acting very strangely.
“What is the matter? You are not yourself.”
Kung Lao had to think quickly. What did he decide to say?
“…hungry…” Good thinking, it’s realistic.
Raiden sighed before saying, “Typical. Fine, I will leave you be so you can get yourself food. But once you are done we must discuss our training routine.”
Raiden walked out of the room and Kung Lao immediately got to work. You felt his hands grab onto your head before he stood up. It all happened so fast. You felt his cock go deeper down your throat, causing you to gag a little. He thrusted in and out of your mouth. He was a panting and whimpering mess.
All your teasing made him sensitive. Combined with the fact he had jerked off this whole time even when he so desperately wanted to he was incredibly sensitive down there. If Raiden didn’t leave in time he probably would have came right in front of him.
His cock abused the back of your throat while his fingers grabbed at your hair. His pelvis bumped into your nose multiple times. You began to drool from the inability to swallow in time and the constant movement in your mouth. You felt him twitch and he began to moan. One more thrust and you felt his cum flow down your throat. He was pent up for a long time so there was a lot going down. You had no choice but to swallow it all. That orgasm was needed. He was shaking and sweating. He didn’t even realize the top half of his body was leaning on the table.
He slipped his cock out of your mouth before sitting back down. His head went back and you could see his chest rising up and down a lot from his heavy breathing. Your mouth was a mess. A mess of saliva and cum that was slipping down your lips.
You crawled out from under the table and began to stand up before feeling Kung Lao pick you. He placed you on the table and took your pants off in one fell swoop. He parted your legs before giving you a smile.
“Now’s my turn.” He did say he was hungry. Time to dig in.
His face was between your legs in seconds. Gosh, you forgot how impressive his tongue was. Swirling around and making it a wet mess down there. His lips felt like heaven. They are wonderful for kissing and giving kisses down there. You couldn’t close your legs since his hands were spreading them apart. Good luck trying to fight him, he’s too strong and hungry for you.
Your back rested against the table since you didn’t have the strength to hold yourself up. Your head hung off and you were trying your hardest to be quiet. Your legs began to shake and you tried to push Kung Lao’s head away from down there. He didn’t budge and that orgasm hit you like a brick. Your hands went from his head over to your mouth to cover it. Your moans were muffled but could still be heard by him. Prideful bastard, he loves hearing you moan for him.
You sure made a mess on his face. Kung Lao got on top of the table and crawled on top of you. His lips latched onto yours and you both got a taste of each other. When he pulled away you saw the mess you made but also the large smile on his face.
“Have I ever told you that I love you?” He’s such a sweetheart, right?
Yap notes: I saw slugs this morning and that's cool. Not important but it's important to me. My cat finally came out and asked for pats and I told her I had to finish but nooo she needs pats. Now she is sleeping nearby. If only I could have my dog come near but he is moody right now. OH RIGHT THIS IS A FANFIC I GOT SIDETRACKED. I mean what can I say Kung Lao is a cutie patootie. And he has a big appetite like me when I'm not anxious. What am i gonna do for dinner? Adiós!

When Brother took up his duties as the King of the Founders, I came to know what a great man he really was. I had already respected him before, of course, and while I had been jealous of him all the same, I truly realised how difficult it must be to reign over a country as the King of the Founders now that I had taken over my brother’s former tasks.
He had to keep careful track of everything, from the relations between Species to the state of the castle. To make matters worse, the Demon World was still in a state of disorder. It was an extremely uncertain time. If he were to slack off, the different Species would perish in no time. Such a grim fate must be avoided at all costs—if it was not, we would be beyond saving.
As I sat brooding about this in my room, I suddenly heard footsteps coming near. Judging from the scent, it was her. I opened the door before she could knock.
“What’s up? Do you need me for—”
Before I finished speaking, she took my right hand in hers and gripped it tightly. In her other hand, she held a brown basket. My eyes widened at the sight of a water bottle hanging from a strap around her neck.
“Shin, let’s go on a picnic!”
A smile was plastered across her face as she spoke, only increasing my surprise. How many years had it been since I’d last gone on a picnic? The weather was certainly nice today, and I wanted to spend the day with her. However, documents were piling up on my desk.
“But I still have a lot to…”
“Do you really have to do all that today?”
I swallowed my reply when I saw the worried expression on her face. I almost wanted to say that yes, I wanted to get it done today, but as the thought formed in my mind, I knew that I didn’t need to.
I briefly turned over her invitation in my head before nodding and walking out the door.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
We left the castle behind us and spread the picnic mat on a low hill. I watched as she joyfully unpacked a variety of snacks and drinks. My face had unconsciously broken into a smile as well.
“Here, Shin, this is for you. I made many different kinds, so have some!”
I took a bite from the sandwich she held out to me. I’d known she was planning something from early this morning, but to think she’d been cooking…
A pleasant taste flooded my mouth. I’d been way too busy lately, and I only now realised how long it had been since I got to spend time off like this.
Maybe I’d been more anxious about my brother’s position as the King of the Founders than I thought. In my constant worrying about wanting to grow closer to him, to surpass him, I had neglected myself.
She had the rare talent of making me notice what’s truly important. No matter how bad things got, she remained by my side… and yet I had failed her as her partner.
“…I’m sorry.”
When I quietly muttered my apology, she turned to look at me with a surprised expression.
“I became engrossed in my own stuff… and I didn’t spend enough time with you,” I continued.
“…That’s not true.”
She quietly grabbed my hand. The warmth of her body spread to mine through her palm.
“Shin, I know you always think of me dearly. But… I just want you to take care of yourself, too.”
I could never compete with her and her gentle smile. She always put me first. Her support is what got me to where I was today.
I loved her from the bottom of my heart… and I wanted to make her happy.
“Thank you.”
As I stroked her hair, I leaned in and kissed her. Her shy smile, her extraordinary kindness… it made me want to make her mine forever.
“You made a lot of sandwiches, right? Feed them to me.”
“Hehe. Alright… Which flavour would you like?”
“I’ll eat all of them, so any will do… After I’ve eaten this one, I’ll feed you next.”
“Ah…! Y-you don’t have to…”
“You’re saying that, but I know you want me to.” I whispered, making her face turn red.
I planted a kiss on her cheek, and took another bite of the sandwich.

a picture-perfect proposal.
Tumblr media
Spencer Reid picture-perfect.
Spencer Reid had no idea when he came home from a long case that his new neighbor would be the love of his life. And together they would create the picture-perfect life.
A four-part series.
Tumblr media
18+
Fluff. Smut. The Criminal Minds team being the Criminal Minds team. Love story.
This part is going to be a little bit longer and much dirtier than the first part of the story. I'm writing this in a particularly turn on part of my life, and i don't have a man to help me with that so i write. and I hope that I didn't make it too dirty, too raunchy. It does contain a lot of sex. Meeting the team. Spencer and his girlfriend come clean about some things.
masterlist for this story
It's been six months since y/n Met Spencer Reid in her hallway. In that time, they have tried to get used to the fact that he Won't be around very often. It's something that neither one of them enjoys.
In that amount of time, y/n and Spencer have learned to cherish every second that they spend together. So it's not unusual for her to wake up and Spencer's arms on his days off. Still tangled up together after falling asleep after a night of passionate love making. Something that she missed this morning as you woke up and there was no Spencer in your bed despite the fact that it is his day off. It wasn't until you heard the shower running that you realized Spencer had woken up before you and decided to take a shower.
You start to shuffle around in bed a little bit, trying to get more comfortable. But no matter how much you moved, you weren't going to be able to ignore the ache in your center. It's the Ache that only Spencer can relieve. You're not sure why you're missing him so bad after last night, you should be good for a while, but then again, it is Spencer Reid and you can never get enough of him. You hear the shower go off and you can't stop thinking about wet, naked Spencer. Something about that man that does something to you.
Spencer comes out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist. One of your pretty pink ones. It's a sight to see really. (Yes, this is a nod to him as Chip Taylor in the movie 68 Kill. I couldn't help it.)
"Morning beautiful" you heard Spencer say.
" Good morning handsome" you replied.
" I was hoping to make it back into bed before you woke up. I'm sorry. I know how much you love waking up in my arms, and I know that I sure love having you wake up there. I miss you so much when I'm away baby" he says, coming closer to the bed.
"It's OK. I woke up and saw you weren't there and then started missing you. And was afraid that maybe last night was just a dream. But when I heard the shower running, I remembered that you were here. And then there's the fact that I don't sleep naked unless you're here. So." She said with a chuckle.
"Well, yes, there is that. I don't sleep naked unless I'm with you either". Spencer told her, getting closer to the bed.
"So how are you feeling This morning, sweetie". Spencer asked.
"well I'm feeling um", she said Shifting slightly in the bed. "Horny" She whined.
"Really. Even though I took such good care of you last night." Spencer asked, getting closer to the bed before removing his towel and showing off his full body to her.  That didn't exactly help her current state. That was until he got closer to the bed and got under the covers with her that she finally started to feel relief once he pushed inside.
"Is this what you needed?" He asked. Is He was beginning to move slowly.
"Yes, this is exactly what I needed. Thank you, Spencer." She said as he began to pick up the pace a little bit more.
"I would say I don't know how you could need more after the night we had, but I understand it because I need you too. So I was really happy to hear that you wanted me."
He Made sweet, gentle love to her three times that morning. There are both so happy that Spencer didn't have a case. They had the whole weekend all to themselves. Unfortunately though, the Reality of life came when Monday morning came along. Spencer's phone started ringing at 8:00 in the morning as he was making love to her once again. Spencer couldn't hide the disappointment in his voice when he heard JJ on the other end of the phone. saying that he had a case.
JJ Understood his disappointment, but only because she thought that he was happy to have some time off.  Catching up on his reading. Get some much-deserved sleep, maybe have a nice meal, sleeping in a bed that wasn't a hotel bed. She had no idea about his girlfriend. No one on the team does at this point, only Luke Alvez. And he kept his promise to Spencer and didn't tell anyone about. Y/N
"OK, JJ I'll be there soon" Spencer said with a sigh, hanging up the phone. he looked at Y/N And she could see the disappointment in his face.
"Is it a case?" she asked with a sigh. Tucking. her head into his side.
"Unfortunately, yes. I'm so sorry".
" Hey, it's OK. I knew the consequences of getting involved with the FBI, man. Doesn't make it any easier for me, but".
" Well, the good news is I'll be able to come back. The case is local, so. I won't have to be gone as long. Might still have to stay in a hotel though if it's Too far away from home and Emily doesn't let me come back home. But she might. And then We can still spend the nights together"
" I would like that. I would like that very much. You know, I do miss you terribly when you're gone. I don't know if you miss me as much as I miss". She was cut off with a kiss to the lips.
"I miss you like crazy". Spencer told her. "I miss you too".
Spencer made his way into the station. And found out what the case was about. He was pretty much just going through the motions at this point, trying to get back home. As a profiler, he knows to try to keep a straight face, a poker face if you will, which should be easy for Spencer Reid, giving that he is from Las Vegas. Today, however, the lovesick boy took over and he lost his poker face. He was looking at a picture of his girlfriend on his phone when Rossi came up behind him.
"Who's that?" Rossi asked.
"Ohh, she's. Um." Spencer tried to come up with a lie. He tried to come up with it quick.
"Is that a girl?" He could hear JJ saying from behind him.
"um, you know what? I think there's something happening, uh, this paperwork over here?" Luke tried to help Spencer.
"What paperwork?  I didn't think there was any paperwork to be done. We don't file paperwork until after the case is done, Luke, you know that". JJ told him.
"Thank you, Luke. You tried. I appreciate it, I really do", Spencer said. With a sigh, setting down his phone.
"This is.y/n She was my new neighbor and now she's my girlfriend".
"Girlfriend?!". Everyone's shrieked Except for Luke.
"How we're just finding out about this? How long has it been?" Prentiss asked.
 "Six months"
"six months and it is telling us about her now. We have to meet her. Please, we have to meet her. Is this why you sounded so disappointed when I called you about the case? Oh my God, were you in bed with her? OH, did I call you during sex? ". JJ said.
"Yes, I was in bed with her at the time. I had to leave her to come do this case and I've been missing her like crazy. I didn't mean to hurt anyone by not telling you, it's just personal. And the last time I had a girlfriend it didn't work out because she got killed in front of me and I don't know, I guess I just didn't want to jinx it." Spencer explained.
"We understand, reid. It's OK. Would you be alright with us meeting her though? I am throwing a party next week and I think that it would be nice for her to come, and we could all meet her. But only if you're comfortable with it". Rossi asked.
"I would like that. I would like for everyone to get to meet her. I love her so much. I'll ask her if she'd like to meet you. I'm sure she would."
Spencer came home that night and pitched the idea to her about meeting the team.
"Something happened today. I was looking at a picture of you on my phone. I got so distracted that I didn't notice Rossi coming up behind me and he saw you. Now the whole team knows about you, and they want to meet you."
She was both excited yet nervous at the same time. Excited because she really wanted to meet the people that were so important to him and in his life all the time.
Finally, the night of the party came after three excruciatingly long days. Spencer was all Hers. again.
She stood in her bedroom looking through her dresses. She only really had two nice dresses to wear for such an event. both of them Kind of like cocktail dresses in a way. One with silver and one with a dark blue velvet like dress.
She walked out into the living room and asked Spencer which one he liked better, holding both of them up on hangers.
Spencer looked at her his mouth dropping as she stood there wearing her black lace bra and panties.
"Spencer?". She asked, moving the dresses up and down.
"Which one do you like?"
Spencer got up from this chair that he was sitting in. And walked slowly over to her.
"Can I be honest with you?" He asked, rubbing his hands up and down her arms.
"Yes, that's what I need right now".
"I love what you're wearing right now". he whispered to her his lips so close to her right ear.
"Thank you, Spencer. Unfortunately, I can't go to a party with your coworkers wearing this".
" Well, no, you couldn't really do that. You're right about that, but. You asked me which one I like better. But. Yeah. If I have to go with you actually wearing a dress, I'll say the blue one. Then that way we can match". He said, pointing to the. Blue shirt and pants that he was wearing. The sleeves of his shirt rolled back.
"OH my gosh I didn't even notice when I saw you there. So sexy but didn't really. Notice that what you had on was blue. so We are going to be the cute little matching couple."
"Yes, but only if you want to be. If you want to wear the silver one that's fine, but I personally really love the blue one."
"Then the blue one it shall be".
"I don't know if I'm going to be able to keep my mind off of what you're wearing underneath that dress though." Spencer told her, watching her walk away.
"You can think about it and then you can take it off of me when we get back home tonight". She offered as she walked into the bedroom to finish getting ready.
At this point, Spencer wasn't really sure that he was going to make it to the end of the night. The drive to Rossi's house seemed to pass quickly. It seemed like no time at all before they were pulling up in front of his house, the house that was all full of cars. They were the last ones to get there.
"Are you ready?" He asked, holding her hand before they got out of the car.
"I think so, yes. This is a lot of cars, a lot of people. OK, I'm not really Used to crowds". She said Taking a deep breath.
"Don't worry, they're going to love you." Spencer reassured her before giving her a kiss and getting out of the car. Walking over to the other side to open the door for her and help her out.
They got out of the car and began walking up the driveway to Rossi's front door.
The sound of her black high heels sounding so loud echoing in her head.
Before she knows it. Spencer is ringing the doorbell and JJ is answering the door.
She has no idea who this pretty blonde is wearing a purple dress, but she knows that she could definitely be competition for her.
"Spence hi!" She greeted him with a hug. "Oh my gosh, you must be y/n. OH, you're just as pretty as you were in your picture on Spencer's phone." She said before hugging her.
I'm Jennifer, but all of my friends call me JJ and I know that we're going to be friends, so feel free to call me JJ.
"Come on in, the whole team is waiting to meet you".
Spencer took her by the hand, walking her through Rossi's spacious living room, through the kitchen and out into the backyard where everyone was.
Her chest began tightening, it beginning to be a little bit difficult for her to breathe as she was becoming overwhelmed with the amount of people that she was seeing. But Spencer's grip on her hand. Made her feel safe. She knew that she was always safe with Spencer.
"Oh my God is this her?!!" She heard another blonde shrieking. As she began running to her.
A blonde wearing a bright pink dress and high heels that were equally as bright. With the big flower on the side of her head.
"Hi, I'm Penelope Garcia. Oh my God, she's so cute. Spencer, why didn't you ever tell us about her before?" She asked Spencer before pulling his girlfriend into a bear hug.
Before Spencer could answer. Rossi came over.
" So this must be the lovely Y/N I wish that I could say I've heard a lot about you, but I only recently found out about you. But if Reid like shoe, then you must be a wonderful young lady. My name is David Rossi by the way. I'm sorry I forgot to introduce myself."
"Oh, it's OK. Yes, I'm Y/N But I guess you already knew that from Spencer, right? I'm sorry, I'm not good at crowds or at parties. I Don't get out very much."
"No need to apologize or be nervous. As a profiler, I can see that you are nervous and there's no reason to be here. We are all a family, and you are now part of our family."
One by one, the rest of the team introduced themselves and gave her a hug before they sat down to a wonderful meal. Rossi really went all out tonight. As he always does. there was Lasagna. Ravioli. Tortellini. Fettuccine Alfredo.
Everyone was eating and having a good time. That was until it happened, something that Spencer thought was going to shake his world forever.
Penelope asked the question. "Why haven't you told us about her before now? I'm starting to get very Nervous because the last time you kept something like this from us, something big, you ended up in prison".
Spencer never told his girlfriend that he was in prison.
Everyone at the table gasped, and then the whole place went silent, everyone looking at Spencer. Spencer looked at his girlfriend. She wasn't saying anything, she was just frozen. Slowly, she turned her head to look at him before whispering. "Prison?".
The sadness in her voice, like a dagger through Spencer's heart.
"Yes, prison I..i" was all Spencer could get out.
"Oh my God, did you not know? Did she not know?" Penelope said quickly. "I'm so sorry, I didn't know that you didn't tell her."
"Can we go to the other room and talk about this?" Spencer asked quickly.
"Yes".
Spencer got up, then pulled out her chair, taking her by the hand. going to Rossi's living room.
"I'm so sorry. I wanted to tell you so many times, but I didn't know how to. I didn't do the crime that I was Accused of. I Within Mexico. Trying to get some help from my mom. You know my mom, right? I did tell you about her. And I was accused of murdering the woman that I was buying the medication from, but I didn't do it. It was my nemesis who framed me for murder. And I spent three months in prison. And it was horrible. But I didn't know how to tell you that because I didn't want you to think badly of me or. Think that I was just as bad as your ex-boyfriend. I really do love you and I never meant to hurt you. I never meant to keep it from you. I just didn't know how to tell you. Please forgive me". Spencer explained, tears welling up in his eyes.
"Spencer, I forgive you. I'm not mad at you. I'm hurt. I'm not hurt because you didn't tell me. I'm hurt because you felt like you couldn't tell me. But I understand because there's something that I kept from you to my ex-boyfriend wasn't just lousy in bed, he was a lousy man altogether. He was very abusive. And that's why I had to learn how to fake orgasms because. If I didn't have sex with him. And didn't make him believe that I enjoyed it. He would hit me and threaten to kick me out on the street, and I didn't have anywhere to go. So I just had to keep faking it. Sex was not something that was enjoyable or pleasurable to me. It was a punishment, Until one day when I had enough. And I packed up when he went to work and used every bit of money that I had saved to buy the apartment that was next to you. That was the best day of my life, meeting you and finally knowing that there are good men in this world and I know that you didn't do anything wrong to be put in prison and I'm so sorry."
"I didn't mean to make you have sex with me if you didn't want to. I never meant to.." His words were cut off by. Y/n
"You are fine. I love having sex with you. I never thought that it could be something that I could actually enjoy, but with you, it's everything that people ever said that it was."
"Really?". He asked, holding her hand.
"Yes, really. You're going to keep your promise to me and Make Love to me when we get home, right?"
"Of course, but as long as you want it".
"Spencer, with you, I will always want it".
Spencer kissed her and then they walked back out hand in hand to finish dinner.
"I'm so sorry". Penelope said. "I didn't know that you didn't know. I didn't know that she didn't know."
" It's OK. It's better that it's out in the open now. We both got a lot of stuff out and it's better this way. We shouldn't keep things from each other, and now we won't. It's fine. Can we continue having dinner now?"
"Yes, let's eat bon Appetit". Rossi said.
The ride back home seems so much longer than the ride to get there, both of them just wanting to have each other so badly. If Spencer Reid was less of a man, he just would have taken his girlfriend right in the back seat of his car. But Spencer is a romantic and would never do something like that.
The dark blue dress that she was wearing was going to drive Spencer crazy all night long. Well, as long as they are at the party anyway. Spencer really wanted nothing more than to bring her back home and have his way with her. He was so glad when the party was over. Driving a little bit faster than usual because you couldn't wait to get back home and be with y/n.
" Your dress. My God, your dress. You look so beautiful. I know that I keep telling you this, but you just are just so beautiful."
" Thank you, honey."
The dark blue button up that he was wearing, with the sleeves slightly rolled up was driving her just as insane as the dress was driving him.
As soon as they were inside, he couldn't keep his hands off of her. Kissing y/n with passion before His fingers found the zipper of the dress, slowly unzipping it down her back. It's as though he wanted this moment to last forever. she didn't know that a zipper could be undone this slowly. Once the zipper hit the bottom of the track of the dress, he pulled it off of her shoulders, allowing the dress to pull to her feet. He watched the fabric slide down y/n's body as it did. Before looking up to see the Black Lacy underwear set that she was wearing underneath the dress.
" Did you wear this for me?" He asked her before kissing you on the lips.
" Yes, I did." You answered him between kisses.
"y/n Can I ask you something?"
" Of course."
He asked her a question between kisses.
" If I." (kiss) " Was a dessert." (kiss) " What kind of dessert would I be?" (kiss)
" You would be." (kiss)
Spencer's lips now made his way to her neck, kissing the spot that drives her mad.
" You would be." (moan) "My favorite dessert" she moans.
" Good answer" he said, before kissing her on the lips again. " Do you want to know what kind of dessert you would be?"
" Yes."
" You would be". (kiss) Then he Whispered right in her ear. " The desert I couldn't get enough of. The only dessert that I couldn't keep off of my mind. The only dessert that I would lose my mind if I didn't have. The only dessert that I have an insatiable appetite for."
He told her before picking her up and wrapping her legs around his waist and carrying her into their bedroom.
" Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to have some of my favorite dessert right now" he told her as he laid her on the bed before pulling down her underwear.
All she could do was Pant in anticipation, waiting for him to touch her.
" So beautiful" he said, before he put his head down and began licking her.
After one lick, he began moaning.
" So delicious. You don't mind if I just help myself to my favorite dessert, do you? He said before taking a suckle on her Clit.
" Ohh God Spencer, yes" she moaned out.
" Yes. Do you mind if I help myself to some of my favorite dessert? You want me to stop?"
" Spencer No, don't stop."
"OK, baby, I won't." He told her before going back down. The pleasure that he was giving to her was something she would never get used to. And would always be something that she craved. She moaned. She ran her fingers through Spencer's hair.
She orgasmed twice just from his mouth.
"Spencer, please, I need to have you inside of me", she panted out.
Spencer wasted no time. He thought he was going to explode before being able to be inside of her. She was so wet and ready for him that he slid in with absolutely no resistance, both of them moaning out at the pleasure.
He moved so slowly inside of her fingers, in her laced with hers as he kissed her lips and neck. After they both Orgasmed together. They both laid in bed, cuddled in each other's arms, still panting, trying to get their breath back from such pleasure.
"Was that worth the wait?" y/n asked.
"Are you kidding me? That was amazing. Unfortunately, though, we do need to get cleaned up". Spencer said.
"Well, OK, a shower then?". y/n Suggested.
"A shower I think would be nice".
His girlfriend reluctantly got herself out of his arms, attempted to leave the bed. But her legs were absolute Jelly.
She almost fell back down.
Spencer told her "maybe a bath would be better" with a slight chuckle.
"Yeah, I think a bath would be good".
Spencer kissed her. And went to the bathroom to draw the bath, putting in the vanilla bubble bath, the water steaming up the bathroom before he went back into the bedroom and carried her in. He held her up next to the tub and had her hold on to the side of the tub while he got in before helping her get in and sitting right in front of him. His arms wrapped around her instantly.
All of their secrets out in the open, all of their love known to Spencer's entire team. There was nothing left to hide anymore. There was nothing left to be nervous about. They are in love and plan on staying that way for the rest of their lives. They had a wonderful four days before Spencer was called away on another case. They knew that it was only a matter of time and spent every second that they could together. They truly were the love of each other's lives.
One night, four months after the team had met Her. Spencer lit a bunch of candles in His bedroom.
Before inviting his girlfriend over. Actually, he lit candles up pretty much all over the living room as well. Spencer let her into the apartment, and she walked in gasping at how many candles there were.
"Wow, this is a lot of fire" she said with a smile.
"Well, I have something really special that I want to say tonight and, uh, I thought candlelight was the best way to ask. Wanted to make it as romantic as possible". He took her by the hand and led her to the bedroom. Where she saw all the candles lit and red rose petals. On the bed, in the shape of a heart. He let go of her hand, and when she turned around, there he was, on one knee with a diamond Ring in his hand.
"y/n I love you so much. When I'm not with you I feel like I'm going insane. You're the best thing that has ever happened to me in my entire life and I would love and be honored if you would be my wife".
She began crying immediately before saying yes. He slid the ring on her finger and kissed her hand before moving up her body and kissing her on the lips.
"The beds are ready for us, my beautiful fiancé". He said before kissing her once more. "But only if you want me to Make Love to you right now".
" Spencer Reid, I want nothing more than for you to Make Love to your fiancé. I want nothing more than to have my fiancé inside of me".
That night, Spencer made love to her in a way that felt different than the other times. It felt like it was the beginning of a new journey, a new chapter for both of them. It truly was a picture-perfect proposal.
Wow, that was a lot of 4552 words. I hope that I didn't make it too boring and I hope to have the next chapter done Faster than I had this one done. But again, being a caregiver doesn't leave me very much time to write. So I brainstorm and then I try to write the best story that I can. Please leave comments, they help keep me motivated.

Heyo, saw you wanted some requests so I'm wondering if you could make some headcanons of some of the uppermoons meeting a fem!hashira!reader and turn them into a demon long before the current story takes place since most people always have them meet during the main story and turn them into a demon which leaves no room for them grow or spend time with the moon that turned them
I just wanna spend time with Akaza
LOVE IS IN THE AIR
uppermoons; akaza, kokushibo
WARNING: this may contain spoilers for each character and for the manga, by viewing this post you are consenting to see these spoilers.
a/n; i did way too much wiki reading for this :(, bc you only specified akaza, i added one more uppermoon, enjoy! (ps. almost 80 followers!!) lowercase is on purpose!!
cw; spoilers!!!! reader is a female, she/her pronouns used, third person pov, development of relationship + them being in love with you, no y/n (replaced with [f.name]), probably bad grammar, reader is a yapper i dont make the rules, may be ooc. for kokushibo; reader is blind, regains sight when she is turned into a demon.
 akaza — upper rank three
words; 946
“you don’t love because: you love despite; not for the virtues, but despite the faults.” — william faulkner
— akaza doesnt eat women.
akaza likely felt bad the day he met her. he pitied her, a hashira—a new one at that. when he first locked eyes with [f.name]’s figure it was a quiet night, he was perched near a tree, yellow eyes watching her like a hawk. he stared like she were an exotic specimen, hidden behind the camouflage of the dark scenery. [f.name] hadn’t noticed the presence of the demon just yet, focused on the small bird on the ground before her.
crouched on the grass, her uniform rustled with her movements to lay her nichirin sword on the grass next to her, a risky move. she scooped the bird into both palms, watching it chirp quietly, almost trying to warn her of the lurking presence near. she cradled the bird, attempting to spot the issue with it, the wing bent and unable to move. her guard was lowered, gentle features latched onto the bird in her hands, cradling and whispering to the bird as if it were a baby.
— akaza was probably one to step in when a lower demon decided on attacking her, he was already too far gone.
demon activity had started to spike in the last few years, more demon slayers needed for the fairly new corporation. [f.name] was a new hashira, and she wasn’t there for long. after the demon attack, she was left injured, her leg dripping blood onto the cool grass below her, she had barely been able to dodge the attack. she may have been able to, but the bird she once held in her grasp now lay a few feet away, the bird now dead on the ground. dammit.
— akaza jumped in at that moment, saving her ass and once the demon that had tried attacking her was dead on the ground, akaza took his chance to potentially gain another demon. he succeeded
— akaza had just recently gained his rank at number three, he had been a demon for quite some time before then and only now had he recruited anyone.
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
— the more time akaza decided to spend with [f.name], the more he realized his own feelings. he was a heartless demon, he shouldn’t feel this way for someone, especially a demon of such low rank.
akaza spent more time with [f.name] than he probably should’ve. she often brought him along on walks in the middle of the night, once the sun had set, [f.name] was blabbering on some old dirt road that led through the forest, abandoned because of the recent demon outrage. she always just barely missed his gaze, his eyes not as narrowed at her as they were at any meal he may have had. his gaze was either focused on the ground they walked on, or on [f.name] when they stopped near a ledge and talked like they were old friends.
— akaza wasn’t as good at hiding his feelings as he thought he was, he realized this the moment another demon tried to comment on the metaphorical hearts floating in his eyes when he watched [f.name].
“akaza-dono, you look like a love struck puppy, my are you i—” douma, upper moon two, was promptly cut off the minute akaza swung his arm in his direction, the demon's head coming clean off above the nose. douma simply laughed off akaza’s attack, teasing something about teenage angst and running off, his head growing back just fine.
“love struck puppy,” akaza scoffed, eyes scowling in her direction, watching her turn to hurry his way, “bullshit.” he cursed quietly, his eyes softening a considerable amount the moment [f.name] opened her mouth to spew information no one, but akaza would ever listen to.
— when akaza finally gets around to spilling his feelings, [f.name] has probably already figured it out, but his attempt was still beautiful.
akaza sat with his legs crossed, [f.name] settled next to him on the cliff’s edge, her feet hanging off the side of the cliff, swinging back and forth as she rambled on about a topic akaza was lost in. his mind focused solely on her side profile, how her throat bobbed when she stopped to swallow or catch her breath, how her lips curled up and parted in a wolfish cackle that truly only akaza would like to hear.
“[f.name].” akaza began, his words halting her ramble, her head shooting to the side to stare at him. his fingers caught her chin, steadying her head and leaning in to press his lips to hers, stopping just a breath away and meeting her eyes, wide and surprised, “can i?” he whispered, yellow eyes flickering over her lips before glancing to her eyes again.
at her nod he leaned in, his mouth pressing to [f.name]’s in a light kiss. it was the ghost of the kiss, like he had never been there the split second he pulled away to gauge a reaction from her, hoping it was good. “akaza, do you,”
“i love you, as much as i can in this cold body.” he didn’t let her finish her sentence, eyes desperate as they looked to hers.
“i,” she murmured, thinking over her next words, “i knew it.”
“what—” akaza’s sentence was cut by her panicked look.
“i mean! i fully, wholeheartedly return your feelings, i love you too.” she corrected herself, laughing nervously and letting the sigh of relief leave her lips when he didn’t look angry at her previous words. akaza pressed his forehead to hers, closing his eyes, leaving [f.name] to admire the relaxed expression for once.
kokushibo — upper rank one
words; 719
“to get the full value of a joy you must have somebody to divide it with.” mark twain
— kokushibo has no preference for food.
the moon was high in the sky, casting a light on the garden his menacing form stood in, he barely remembers how he got himself into this situation. one moment he was walking towards a woman, the next she was on her knees, pressing her nose to the pretty flowers. she’s surely noticed his presence, likely mistaking him for another person admiring the flowers. it's only when she looks in his direction does he realize she can’t see him, she’s peering straight at him and yet, no reaction, as if he weren’t there to begin with.
“hello?” she finally speaks up, her eyebrows creased. she could’ve sworn she heard someone, footsteps approaching her, but now it was dead silent, maybe she was alone after all.
— wrong. kokushibo found this woman breathtaking, he just didn’t want to alert her.
“the wind.” she pushes it down to, her hands ghosting over the petals of the many flowers she can feel. she was technically supposed to be patrolling at the moment, searching and keeping an ear out for any potential demons, but she supposed she could let her guard down the moment the smell of roses invaded her nose.
— kokushibo is refined, a true gentleman if you will. he poses as just another passerby for tonight, and he sees her almost every night in the same place. she becomes a constant he sees a lot, and each time he misses his chance to approach you.
— its only when kokushibo finds her battered and beaten that he finally steps in. he saves her from a demon, and then he finally reveals his own identity as a demon, taking the chance to tell her all the pros of being a demon, the one con being, she can’t be in the sun.
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
— when she regains her sight as a demon, she begins to spend all of her time trailing after kokushibo like a lost puppy.
“kokushibo,” she says, rocking back and forth on her heels as she stares up at the towering demon, “guess what i did today.”
and she rambles, oftentimes about a topic not even she knows about. a human stabbed her a little too deep and it won't heal quick enough, kokushibo. she ate a human today and now she doesn’t see the appeal of it, kokushibo. she tells him every little thought that crosses her mind. she was turned in her early days of being in the demon slayer corps, just as kokushibo was. she had freshly become a hashira and soon after she had been turned into a demon.
— it’s only when she begins spending her time in kokushibo’s personal space that he begins to feel something for her. she watches him train like a devoted student, kneeling near a corner and watching with warm eyes as he swings his blade with practiced precision.
“kokushibo,” she says, smiling up at the demon. she’s sure she’s said his name at least a hundred times today, like she does everyday, his name became second nature. when she needed help, kokushibo. when she wanted to go on a nighttime walk, kokushibo. she was just relieved that he never seemed to mind walking or listening to her talk
— one day kokushibo has enough. he corners her in the old room he trains in, a large figure covering her own, and then he kneels down.
kokushibo sat on his knees in front of her, his large hands on each side of her face, bringing her face close enough until he was the only thing she could see. “i love you.”
his confession of love is whispered with a cold voice. it sounded almost sarcastic, but [f.name] had spent enough time around him that it was easy to tell he wasn’t joking. ever. he never joked, and he wouldn’t about this.
“i’ve always wanted to hear you say that.” she laughs nervously, her sharp teeth revealed to him, all six of his eyes focused on her facial features.
— kokushibo doesn’t kiss her yet. he doesn’t kiss her until he’s courted her to his own standards. he’s an old soul, quite literally ancient. he only kisses her when she’ll least expect it, wanting to drag it out and make it all worth it.

𝐌𝐢𝐲𝐚 𝐀𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐮 𝐎𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐭 | 𝐋𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐨
my writing have become rusty but i was getting into emotional...and yeah i wanted to write an angst piece for a long time~
Pairing: Miya Atsumu (timeskip) x fem reader! (she/her)
Genre(s): angst
Warning(s): emotional cheating, lots of sad stuff.
Please proceed with caution.
Tumblr media
Miya Atsumu 宮 侑
Realizing the person that you have loved for your whole life was just using you as a replacement hurts like pieces of sharp glass shards scraping all over your scarred heart. Constantly stabbing on all the broken pieces until you just became numb to the pain. By the time he realized that he hurt you so deeply, it was far too late to salvage the pieces and repair the wounded heart.
It was not even that difficult to notice the minute details that Atsumu keeps in his life to remind himself of her. Their past, the present without her, and the future were left unknown by numerous factors.
You were the factor X, the outlier in his life. The outlier that was not supposed to have any relations with the compatible factors.
But…with that confident and cocky personality of Atsumu, you instantly got attracted to him. An outlier should have stayed from afar and observed, not mixed in with the main group.
Hana and Atsumu were the ultimate couple. They grew up together, have been each other's support system since young and she was Atsumu’s ideal girlfriend. Hana was everything that Atsumu needed. Their love for each other was the sweetest and perfect, everyone thought they would last together.
However, life has its own way of telling a story.
After high school, Hana moved to Tokyo to become a model and broke up with Atsumu.
That was when you decided to take the chance and pursue your first love.
It was not easy but after two years of traveling back and forth from Tokyo to Osaka, you got the title of ‘Atsumu’s Girlfriend’ and the privileges of becoming his girlfriend. You thought life would be easier if you become his girlfriend.
Life has a bitter way of saying ‘fxxk you’ in your face.
On the first year of your anniversary, you were going to surprise Atsumu by turning up at one of his games after he announced that you two were dating publicly. You even got his jersey and got all dolled up for the sake of surprising him.
The first shard.
You spotted Hana in the VIP first row, in Atsumu’s personal jersey. Even after dating for a year, Atsumu  still did not allow you to even take one shirt from his closet. But, his ex-girlfriend could wear it for a public event.
Instead of staying to watch the game, you decided to head back to Tokyo.
Not one single call nor a message.
The second shard.
Their old couple rings, past love letters and their old photos still lingered at their new apartment that they got together. It was slowly suffocating you but you believed that you two had a chance and even moved in together.
The third shard.
Endless comparison between Hana and you. It was always ‘Hana used to do this for me…’ or ‘If Hana could, why can’t you?’ but never a thank you for trying or just trying to be there for your girlfriend of four years.
But Hana was his best friend and you were just some random stranger that decided to barge in their life eight years ago.
The fourth shard.
Birthdays, graduations, job celebrations, important dates, he was never there. One call from Hana, he was out of the door.
And, the cycle repeats.
Till you become mentally and physically drained.
“Atsumu, is it me or Hana?”
You saw how he hesitated and struggled to answer you, but deep down…you knew his response.
It will always be Hana for him.
Without even waiting for his reply, you head to your room to pack your stuff. Five years together, and this was how it ended.
“Are you leaving?” Your hand tightens around the one and only gift that he remembered to buy in your five year relationship.
You threw the necklace into the bin and nodded your head at him. He grabbed your hand to stop you from packing your clothes into your suitcase.
“Atsumu, why are you stopping me? Isn’t it time for us to end? You never let go of Hana and never will. I tried to…I tried very hard but all you did was to break my heart into a million pieces. If I don’t leave you, we are just making our lives difficult. So, Atsumu, please let me go. I can’t do this anymore.” You begged him, tears streaming down your pale cheeks. His grip loosened and you swiftly got out of the apartment before you regret it.
Atsumu was scared to be alone. When he and Hana first broke up, he was a wreck but only you stayed by his side. And soon, you became familiar and constantly pursued him so he gave it a try.
But everything that he did together with you, reminds him of Hana.
She never left his mind. Hana could never be replaced.
Then he hurt you in the process of his own healing process.
Everything was too late.
Nothing can’t be fixed anymore.
Atsumu was left alone again.
You were left with a broken heart that can’t be pieced together again.

I'm going to go on a little ramble about representation in Doctor Who because tonight they managed to make me feel a way I haven't felt since 18 June 2005.
So let's start there, with the last time we got to see the Doctor and a male character have a romantic kiss. On family tv in 2005, with kids across the country watching. Two years before that, it was literally illegal to mention LGBTQ+ people in a positive sense in UK schools. Section 28's shadow lingered for a long time, I don't think there was any palpable change to the curriculum in those two years. But RTD gave us Captain Jack and that kiss, and he did so explicitly for the purpose of representation, saying 'It’s time you introduce bisexuals properly into mainstream television'.
Tumblr media
Then after that kiss, Jack dies. Tale as old as time for queer characters. But then... He doesn't. He comes back to life, and refuses to die from that point on. A writer that saw too many brilliant gay and bi men disappear from his life (as It's A Sin brings into stark contrast) gave us a queer hero whose power was that he couldn't die, and I still marvel at the power of that.
(... And then sadly the elephant in the room, John Barrowman refused to learn about what's appropriate on set and kept doubling down on why his behaviour was actually just fine and dandy, and so we'll likely never see the character again, which sucks given how much he meant to bi kids growing up in that era.)
So anyway, Doctor Who moves on as it always does. We get Torchwood and a gloriously bi team there, but safely away in the adult television space. RTD era Who keeps on mentioning queer characters but we never get anyone quite as in your face or central to the plot as Jack. River Song briefly mentions flirting with everyone in the same 51st century way, but then stays mostly focused on the Doctor on screen.
Then Moffat era Who comes about and Season 5 doesn't feature a single queer character except River's reappearance. Even Moffat realised how much he'd fucked up here and course corrected. So things get slightly better with Vastra and Jenny (two prominent lesbian characters, only one of whom gets non-consensually kissed by the very male Doctor, yay) and eventually Clara, a canonically bi companion. It's only mentioned in little side snippets about kissing Jane Austen in unseen stories, but it's there? You can't deny she's bi, even if it never really informs her story. And then Bill, who's actually genuinely handled pretty well as a lesbian character, I think Moffat tried and things like getting a gay date interrupted by the pope are genuinely funny gags. Wish we got more of an actual dynamic between her and Heather though.
Then we get the Chibnall era and we do get queer characters here and there, The Witchfinders casting of Alan Cumming as James I is very good, and Praxeus has a quite sweet central gay relationship. But then there's Yaz.
See, Yaz is in love with the Doctor, apparently anyway, it's never mentioned before Revolution Of The Daleks when they became aware of the fan headcanon, and after using Jack to point to the similiarities between them in his last appearance, they kinda kept it on the backburner after that, so it's all very hastily resolved in one conversation in Legend Of The Sea Devils and they never kiss or get to display much affection.
So really we've had two eras where the main character representation has been piecemeal, there's certainly stuff there for queer fans to cling onto, in the same way that we've torn apart the classic era for hints of gayness. But Nyssa and Tegan weren't really for us, and neither is most of this. Even at its best it feels like straight writers realising it's a thing they should include but without any real passion for it.
And along comes Rogue and we get a full fledged romance, a dashing hero stepping into the Doctor's world and them instantly clicking and flirting, the chemistry palpable, all leading to a heartbreaking conclusion where they actually get to kiss before the end, and the chance of more to come in the future. No little one liner where Rogue says 'I like guys btw but anyway moving onto the important stuff'. No nods and winks and jokes about long tongues. Actual text, more development in an episode than Yaz and the Doctor managed across an entire run.
The writers of this episode are Kate Herron and Briony Redman who used to work on Loki, the one with the one side conversation about bisexuality that's a nice nod but never really builds to anything, that RTD famously called a 'craven, feeble gesture'. So they came in without the shackles of the MCU and did it right, and I love them for it. They tried to give us what representation they could, and with a producer that wants the same, we got something authentic.
Authenticity matters when it comes to representation, it can't just be to tick a box, and it really feels like this was for us. Something that might lead to the same brain explosion in a queer kid watching Doctor Who that Parting Of The Ways did in 2005 for me.

Chapter 10: Lines Drawn in Blood
“It’s been super dead lately.” You said into the phone. “I kinda wish more people came by. I feel bad wasting all these cupcakes.”
Jason chuckled. You were at the bakery, waiting out the last few hours of your shift. Winter had finally hit, so there were less people out and about. The bakery had some delicious items, but not delicious enough for people to trek through 3 feet of snow for.
“Hopefully no one comes by tonight and you can start your end of shift duties sooner. “I can come pick you up tonight. I’m almost done here.”
You smiled happily. Jason had been working so much lately, you were sad that he hadn’t been able to pick you up for a while. This was the first night in months he was able to meet you after work. “Yes!” You said happily into the phone. “Well that means I should get started on closing duty now. See you in a couple of hours?” You asked happily.
“See you soon doll. Love you.”
“Love you too Jay.” You said making a kissy noise into the phone. You hung up and began to clean up the shop.
The final few hours dragged on.
The streets were nearly empty now. There hadn’t been a person in sight for at least 30 minutes. It was a nice kind of quiet. Charles sat in front of the shop, his eyes trained on the empty streets outside. The sun was starting to set behind the buildings, casting long dark shadows onto the street.
You started your ending shift duties a bit early tonight. You knew you likely wouldn't get any more customers tonight. You glance at Charles, whose eyes were still fixated on the streets. Ever since the situation with Mario at the gala, you noticed Charles was more attentive of your surroundings. Not that anything happened after that. There was some slight tension amongst Jason’s men, but not much more than usual.
As you were cleaning out the last baking sheet, a loud crash from the alleyway made you jump. Charles instantly got to his feet. You made your way back to the front and saw Charles look around the front of the building with caution. He looked back at you, his eyes wary and concerned. “Stay inside, and make sure the door in the back is locked. I’ll be right back.” He said.
You nodded and quickly made your way to the back of the shop. The door in the back was usually locked during opening hours, but you went back to double check anyways. You felt a small sense of relief as you saw the lock was indeed engaged.
You returned to the front and went back to cleaning up. You made your way towards the rows of bread at the front, ready to put them into a bag to give to the Wayne crew back at the Cave, when the sound of a bell notified you of a figure in the doorway. You were expecting Charles, but it was someone else. Someone you were hoping you would never see at the bakery.
Mario stepped into the bakery. His presence quickly fills the small space. You could feel your heart race as he made his way towards the counter. A smirk quickly painted his face. He looked you up and down like a piece of meat waiting to be slaughtered. You looked towards the front door, hoping Charles would show up any second now.
“Hello, Y/N.” Mario said, a small hint of seduction in his voice. “What a nice place you have here.”
You hesitated, but answered with a steady voice. You knew better than to show him any sign of fear. You kept glancing at the door, praying Charles would be back. You also glanced at your cell phone sitting next to the cash register, which was currently behind where Mario was standing.
“Thank you. But I am afraid we are closing for the night. So I will have to ask you to leave.”
You tried to turn around and made your way towards the rows of bread once more, hoping he would take the hint and leave. You tensed a bit when the sound of the front door closing filled the room.
“Well it's a good thing I'm not here for the food now am I?” Taking a step closer to where you were and reaching out to touch your arm. You pulled away, and looked him dead in the eyes.
“We are closed. Please leave.” You pushed passed him and made a beeline towards your phone on the counter, but you felt a hand grab your wrist. You had a sudden flashback to the gala. Except this time, you were alone. You looked at the door once more. Where was Charles?
“I told you. I’m not here for the food”, he said, his voice raising a bit in tone.
A wave of fear overtook you, but you pushed past it. “Let go of me!” You shouted, trying your best to fight his ever tightening grip.
“You’re a feisty one, I'll give you that. Todd has good taste in women.” He said pulling you closer to him. “Common, one night with me and you’ll forget all about that nasty old Wayne.”
Your eyes started to fill with tears, but you put on your bravest face. “No. Let go!” You shouted.
He quickly let go, and you were relieved for half a second. Until you felt him push you backwards into one of the tables at the front of the shop. You lost your balance and fell, knocking over the table and glass vase that sat at the top.
The glass shattered upon impact as it fell right alongside the table. You instantly felt a sharp pain run up your arms as you tried to brace your fall with your hands. The broken glass shards quickly cuting into your hands.
Mario looked down over you, a predatory grin painted on his face. You tried to push yourself up, but the pain from the glass was too intense. “Not so feisty anymore.” Mario said before you felt a hand wrap around your throat. He brought you onto your feet and pushed you against the wall, hand still wrapped around your throat. You tried to pull him off, but that only made the glass go deeper into your hands.
“It would’ve been more fun if you were awake. But I can still have fun with your body.” His hands began to squeeze, cutting off your air supply.
Tears flowed heavily down your face now. You clawed weakly at his arm, but it was no use. Your vision started to blur as stars filled your vision due to lack of air. You could feel the darkness slowly take over. Just as you were about to lose consciousness, you could hear the door burst open.
You felt Mario’s grip loosen as you fell to the floor, quickly gasping for air.
The next few minutes went by in a blur.
You could hear the sound of flesh hitting flesh as Jason’s fists connected with Mario’s jaw. The force of the punch sent him flying into the display case up front, but Jason didn’t stop there. He pounced onto Mario, his fists connecting with his face over and over again in a flurry.
You were in too much shock to realize just what was going on. The stars lessened and your vision started to clear as oxygen reached your lungs once more. You could see from behind, Jason was perched on top of Mario, still throwing punches to the man’s face.
Just as quickly as it all happened, a flash of blue and red entered the party. They quickly made their way towards Jason, trying their best to pull him off of the other man.
“Jason! Stop! You’re killing him.” Dick shouted, grabbing one of Jason’s arms. Jason was much stronger than dick of course, so Tim had to step in on the other side.
“Stop, this isn’t going to solve anything!” Tim shouted. With both their might they managed to pull Jason off of Mario. Jason’s chest heaved, his breath coming in angrily. For a moment, it seemed like he might push past them both, but a small whimper from the side of the room caught his attention.
He quickly turned and, with two large strides, knelt in front of you. He noticed the blood instantly, and for a moment, he considered turning back to finish what he had started. But the sound of your whimpers erased every trace of anger in his body, replacing it with something entirely new.
The fury in his eyes softened as he gently took your trembling hand. Your eyes were closed, and you recoiled at his touch, unsure of who was reaching out to you. But recognition dawned when a soft voice asked, "Doll, are you okay?"
Slowly, you opened your eyes. You hadn't realized you had backed yourself into the corner of the room, next to the counter. Your entire body was shaking uncontrollably. You had pulled your legs into yourself and tried to do the same with your arms, but the pain in your hands prevented you from moving them. Voices murmured behind Jason, but you paid them no mind.
The ringing in your ears from the overwhelming fear gradually subsided, and your vision cleared slightly. Although the tears filling your eyes blurred parts of the room, you knew one thing for certain: you were safe. Jason hesitantly leaned closer, and you rested your head against his chest. Your whimpers turned into sobs as he wrapped his arms around you, holding you tightly. Your body trembled even harder as the sobs wracked through you, but his presence brought a measure of calm amidst the chaos.
“It’s okay princess. I’m here.” Jason’ whispered into your ear so only you could hear his words. You buried your face into his shoulders as he wrapped his arms underneath your legs and effortlessly picked you up off the floor. You could feel the cold air touch your skin as Jason left the building. He barked a few orders at his men. Two familiar voices behind you did the same. You never took your face out from his shoulder. You didn't want to see what was going on around you.
The cold air soon vanished as you could feel yourself entering a car. The familiar smell of leather and sandalwood in the air. A small heat source quickly heating you back up. Sobs still racked your body as the sudden realization of what just happened continued to pulsate through your body.
You could feel the vehicle begin the move. Voices were talking over each other. You recoginzed one to be Dick’s, but that was it. You tried your best to just focus on the sound of Jason’s heartbeat.
“He’s… alive…” You heard.
“Charles… okay…”
“Tim…cleanup… blood… no trace….”
Jason’s grip tightened around you as the men spoke in serious tones. You could feel yourself slowly calming down now that you were surrounded by familiar people. Now that you knew you were safe.
The car came to a halt as Jason carried you out and in through the doors of the cave. The familiar darkness washing over you both as you entered its halls. Your sobs were light sniffles at this point. You willed yourself to stop, but your body said otherwise. You took your face away from the safety of Jason’s shoulder for just one second.
You had never seen the bar like this before. It seemed busier than ever. Only, most of the people here were not employees or guests as far as you could tell. The dim lighting cast long shadows over the polished wooden tables, where groups of men in sharp, tailored suits huddled together, their faces set with grim determination. The low murmur of tense conversations filled the air, followed by the occasional clink of glasses and the metallic snap of gun holsters being checked. Many of the tables had weapons on them. Pistols, submachine guns, rifles, and more. If you didn't know any better, you would have thought The Cave was a gun shop at this point. Cigarette smoke filled the room, adding a hazy veil to the already charged atmosphere.
These were no ordinary patrons. Each of them wore a small pin on their suit, the Wayne family crest. These were all Bruce’s men. Each one preparing for the turf war that had just erupted, their eyes cold and calculating, ready for the violence to come. The entire room turned its attention to you and Jason once you made it through the doors.
You didn’t even realize it, but your whole body was still shaking. You felt Jason’s grip tighten around you.
“Where’s Bruce?” Dick asked one of the men.
“In his office. He has all the Lieutenants in there.” The man said before walking quickly away from the three of you.
Jason quickly hurried past the large group of men gathered at the bar. Dick opened the door in the back and Jason stepped through. You had never actually been back here. You usually stayed at the front of the bar. You never really had a reason to come back here.
The hallway led to another set of hallways, until you reached a pair of large black doors. Dick knocked a few times before stepping through. All eyes fell on the three of you once the doors opened. All except Bruce.
Bruce was sitting at his desk, busy looking down at the tablet in front of him. The men quickly brought their attention back to Bruce. Dick broke away from the group, joining the group of men surrounding Bruce.
Out of nowhere, a woman dressed in a black stepped in front of Jason.
“Is she okay?” She asked, looking over at you. You had never seen this woman before, but you quickly recognized her as Selena Kyle.
Aka, Bruce Wayne's wife.
Selena kept out of the limelight. It was rare she went out to events with Bruce. He invited her to Gala’s but she often declined. She wasn’t one for the rich and snobby. She always stayed behind closed doors and was rarely ever in the tabloids. Some people even believe that her relationship with Bruce was just a hoax. Every once in a while, she would attend one gala with the family. But then she would disappear from the lime light once more.
Her eyes softened as your eyes met. “It’s going to be okay.” She said in a whisper. She then focused her attention onto Jason. “Go jump in the shower and wash the blood off. I’ll take care of her while you’re gone.” Jason nodded as Selena led you two to a door in the back of the room. Jason stepped through first as Selena locked the door behind you.
The door led to another room. The room resembled a living room. It was just as fancy as Bruce’s office. Black leather couches with gold trim surrounded a beautiful oak table. There wasn’t much in the room. Just a few books here and there and a single wine cart tucked away into the corner. You noticed quickly there were no windows in this room.
Jason gently sat you down on one of the couches. He kneeled in front of you and you looked down at him. You could still feel the adrenaline running through your veins as you noticed all the blood that covered Jason’s face and body. He lifted his hand to cup your cheek.
“She’s hurt. That bastard pushed her into some glass. Can you make sure to check to see if any of her cuts still have fragments before you patch her up?” Jason said, still looking at you, but clearly talking to Selena.
Selena gently places her hand on his shoulder. “Yes. I’ll take it from here. Go wash up kitten.”
Jason sighed in frustration, then you met eyes once more. He stood up, and pressed a kiss onto your head. “I’ll be quick.” He said, addressing both of you before disappearing behind another door.
You looked down at your knees. You had unconsciously curled up around yourself, trying to make yourself smaller. You could hear the sounds of some cabinets being opened. You closed your eyes to keep yourself from crying again.
The room was silent, except for the sounds of some rifling. After what felt like hours, a soft voice made you open your eyes.
“Y/N?” Selena asked gently. You opened your eyes to see her kneeling in front of you. She had a first aid kit sitting on the table behind her. She smiled softly. “I’m going to get the glass your wounds okay? I don’t want you getting an infection.”
You looked down at her and nodded.
Selena spent the next few minutes gently picking glass out of your cuts. She used a pair of tweezers and dropped each piece into a small bowl. You were surprised at how much glass was present. You didn’t realize the extent of your injuries. You were too out of it to notice just exactly how much you were bleeding. Your eyes started to glaze over as you saw your arms were covered in your own blood. After a few more minutes, Selena finally put down the tweezers and began cleaning your wounds. It stung a little, but your body was numb from the shock so you didn't feel much. None of them were deep enough to require any stitches, but she cleaned each and every one of them before wrapping your hands. The white wraps were a stark contrast from the dark red that stained your arms. The adrenaline was still pumping, so while you didn’t feel much pain right then and there, you knew you would later.
She turned away, grabbing a bottle of painkillers. She took one out of the bottle and handed it to you. You took it, and held it in your hand for a second. Selena came back and handed you a glass of water. You took the pill without hesitation.
Selena looked down sadly at your tiny frame. She remembered the first time she found out the truth of the Wayne Family. It’s a lot to take in at once. She didn’t exactly have a clean past herself, but what the Wayne’s had done made her rap sheet look like a post it note. But she adapted quickly. She didn’t expect you to take it as easily as she did.
At first, you spoke so quietly Selena didn’t hear you through her thoughts. You only caught her attention when she noticed you were watching her. She tilted her head in confusion. “I’m sorry honey, can you say that again?” She asked, gently kneeling down in front of you.
You took a deep breath. “Is he dead?” You asked again, this time slightly louder.
Selena pursed her lips. Her silence spoke volumes. After a few moments of awkward silence, she finally spoke up. “No.” She said curtly. But he should be. That part she kept to herself.
Just then, the sound of a door opening caught both your attention. Jason stepped through, freshly showered. All the blood was gone. His wet hair stuck to his face. He was wearing a plain white tee and a pair of black slacks.
Selena looked at you one more time, before reaching out to gently squeeze your wrist in reassurance. “I’ll leave you two alone for a bit.” She said getting to her feet. “Bruce will want to move soon, kitten. I’ll buy you some time.” She said, placing a hand on Jason’s bicep, before stepping out the door you both came through.
You were so busy watching Selena walk through the door you didn’t notice Jason take a seat next to you. “You okay?” He asked quietly.
You turned to look at him. He was half expecting you to walk out the door with Selena after what he just did. Jason looked down at his hands. They were bruised, a few pieces of broken skin here and there from when he connected with that assholes face. The blood was washed off, but nothing could ever wash off what he did in front of you. He was a monster.
You nodded slowly, and scooted closer to him. He instinctively wrapped his arms around you.
You both stayed like that for a few moments. Not yet ready to discuss the elephant in the room.
Jason wasn’t sure where to begin. He wasn't sure how much you had put together yet. Hell he wasn't even sure if the bastard was dead or not. The only thing he knew for certain was that Charles was okay. He was knocked out by one of Mario’s men. But he would be alright the next day.
The Falcones would pay for this.
“C-can we go home?” You asked quietly.
Jason was surprised for a moment. Somewhere in his heart he still felt like this was the last straw. How could you stay with him after what he just did in front of you?
“Not yet. They’re fixing up a place for us to stay in the manor. We need to make sure the Falcones aren't already getting ready to raid the penthouse.”
“Okay.” you whispered softly. You curled your legs up, resting them gently on Jason’s lap. He responded by enveloping you in his strong, protective embrace, his other arm wrapping around you with a tenderness that spoke volumes. In that moment of silence, surrounded by the echoes of recent turmoil, you both found solace in each other’s presence. The world outside could wait; right now, nothing could break the spell of this perfect, tender moment you shared.
One thought echoed in your mind: When did this dream turn into a nightmare?

The Hanged Man (chapter 1)
Read on AO3
Notes: This fic relies on some plot points from the short story "The Reaping". If you want the full context for the fic without having to read the short story (which I do recommend, btw), see the AO3 notes or scroll to the bottom of this post.
Edér had imagined his own death way too many times.
There was the war, for one. He'd try not to think about it much, but sometimes things would happen and leave him wondering if that would be him, too.
Stabbing. Slashing. Arrows. Bolts. Broken necks, burned bodies. Slow deaths from wounds gone bad.
And besides your usual pick of deaths, there was Eothas.
Edér knew for a fact he wasn't the only one thinking about it. Lots of soldiers back then were going to sleep every night wondering if they'd just be... smitten out of existence, before they ever woke up.
Close your eyes, and the next thing you see is your god, and he goes well, Edér, you chose the wrong side, so welcome to being dead. No rebirth for you, either. Right into the void with you.
Not the most fun thought to fall asleep with.
Lately, though, it had all been the same thing. The rough, heavy noose around his neck, hands tied behind his back; the creaking of old barren branches above his head, and all of Gilded Vale staring up at him.
The funny thing was, now that he was there for real, it almost felt fake. The rope against his skin; the barrel that would soon be kicked out from under his feet; the silent grey crowd; there was a weird flatness to it all. It was all wrong, just a little off from how it appeared in his recurring dreams.
His dreams didn’t account for the rain, either.
It was just a light drizzle, but Edér had been standing under it for a while, in the same shirt and trousers he fell asleep in the night before, and by now he was soaked and chilled to the bone.
Part of him was starting to wish they’d just get it over with.
And to think that he almost got out. He should have left as soon as the bell tolled three times yesterday, instead of putting it off until next morning.
Maybe he could have tagged along with that Watcher and the twitchy elf that had been staying at the Black Hound. They were strange folks, sure, but neither of them looked too sturdy; they could have used a protector on the road.
He almost asked to come along with them. Even now, Edér wasn't sure why he didn't.
Same reason why he’d waited this long to leave, probably.
A few feet away from his improvised gallows, Urgeat the magistrate was droning on and on about the "inestimable" Lord Raedric, his care for Gilded Vale, and his love for his wife.
His wife.
When his door got kicked in first thing in the morning, guards swarming in to drag him out of bed, Edér thought it was about Eothas. He figured maybe it was also about the rebels, or because someone saw him talking to that Watcher, and that was somehow also a crime now.
He didn't think they'd say that he murdered a woman.
Lord Raedric's wife. He still didn't know all the details of it - nobody bothered to tell him, since they were all thinking he did it - but what he gathered was that she turned up dead somewhere in the village, and it was close enough to his house to make them think he was involved.
Urgeat was just getting to that part in his speech, now.
Edér had never even seen her up close.
"...spreading dissent and worship of a dead god are, of course, far from the only crimes committed by this man. When words of deception no longer satisfied his foul goals, he turned to murder, and took the life or our beloved Lady Ygrid - "
"Didn't do it."
Even from this distance, Edér could see a sour grimace form on the magistrate's face as soon as he was interrupted.
"Silence, murderer," Urgeat said.
Edér shrugged; the noose shifted uncomfortably on his shoulders.
"Just setting the facts straight," he said. "Didn't do it. Ain't ever laid a finger on her. Sure, I’ve got blood on my hands, but last I checked they were all soldiers."
Not all of those soldiers were Readcerans.
Standing on that barrel gave him a great view of the crumbling shell of the temple behind the villagers' backs - and, standing just beyond it, the house that once belonged to Osgod Rask.
They did find the corpses, eventually. Some settlers moved in, took Raedric up on his offer of land; smelled something foul in the cellar, opened it, and saw what became of the two men in the years that had passed since Edér left them there.
Those settlers didn't stay.
"So you would like us to believe," Urgeat said dryly. "However, lies will not get you out of this noose. I would advise that you save your breath."
Edér couldn't hold back a snort of laughter; not that he was trying that hard.
"Right! 'Cause I have so much breathing left to do still."
Was it his imagination, or did he hear a giggle somewhere in the crowd?
Nobody liked the magistrate. Fact was, were it him in the noose instead of Edér, they'd all be clapping and cheering.
Nobody was cheering for his hanging, at least. He’d like to believe there were some people in the square doubting that he actually did it.
The problem was that it didn’t matter.
Three tolls of the bell spelled death. Before the lady’s body turned up, it meant death for a lot of people, and probably exile for just as many; by the time Raedric was done “appeasing the gods”, Gilded Vale would have been a ghost town.
But now… Now the lord’s wife was dead, and they had one person to blame for it. And, while they were at it, they could blame him for everything else, too.
Maybe there were some folks left in Gilded Vale who didn’t want to see him hang, but they would take it if it meant that he would be the last.
Something drew his eyes back to the empty Rask house.
Daeg's ma, Lifa, had this look on her face when the bodies were found. Whenever Edér was around, she'd get that same look again, like somehow she knew.
Edér didn't regret what he did. Daeg raised a weapon against a woman and her child, which in Edér's book meant he got what was coming to him - but it didn't mean Lifa deserved to die without ever finding out what happened to her son.
Gods know he’d give a lot to find out what happened to Woden.
"Tell you what, Urgeat," Edér said. "You're gonna hang me, at least hang me for something I did."
He took a breath, preparing to confess to everything that happened with Elafa and her child and the two guards that night - and then the words never came out.
There was a figure walking through the ruins of the old temple.
"Well?" Urgeat inquired impatiently. "If you wish to add to the list of your crimes, I will not stop you, but, by the Wheel, make it quick."
The stranger was wearing a heavy black cloak with an unusually large, baggy hood. Edér couldn't see their face, but they were moving, quickly and purposefully, towards the gathering.
"I take it you have changed your mind," Urgeat said. "Very well. Let us continue - "
"Stop!"
The cloaked stranger had crossed the temple, and stopped at the foot of the tree. She was the one speaking; by the sound of it, she was a woman.
Urgeat let out a heavy, drawn-out sigh.
"Miss,” he said, "Perhaps you failed to notice that we are in the middle of an official proceeding. Whatever business you have, I am sure it can wait a minute longer."
"It cannot," she said. "By the duc's authority, I demand that you stop this execution right now."
"By the duc's - excuse me, who are you?"
In response, she simply reached up and pulled back her strange, heavy hood.
A murmur rolled through the crowd.
She was Ondra-touched. Blue skin the color of a clear sky; black eyes with no whites, two glowing dots for pupils; glowing white hair, a crescent moon-shaped growth on her forehead, and two curving horns, glowing also.
That last part explained the weird shape of her hood.
Edér had never seen this kind of godlike before, but he had heard of them.
During the war, word was that there was one of them in his division. Edér had never met the guy himself, but heard that he could fly, and that any wounds he received would heal right up. Whether the rumors about his blessings were true or not, it was impossible to say now; a few weeks in, the godlike took the brunt of a spell from a Readceran priest and died.
"Agent Selene Moonborn of Dunryd Row," said the Ondra-touched woman. "You may address me as Agent Moonborn, or Selene. Do you need to see my credentials?"
Moonborn... She sure was.
Wait - Dunryd Row?
"I would greatly appreciate that," Urgeat said, but his tone was no longer as snide as it was a moment ago. In fact, Edér was pretty sure that he heard a tinge of fear in his voice.
No wonder. If this was an actual Dunryd cipher, something serious was going on.
Selene approached the magistrate, her cloak swaying silently, and held something out to him. The drizzling rain didn't seem to bother her much.
While Urgeat was inspecting the item she handed him, she looked up over his shoulder. Her eyes met Edér's for a moment, and almost immediately moved on, taking in the rest of the hanging tree.
Was he just a part of the scenery to her, dead already?
"...Very well," Urgeat said, finally. "Welcome to Gilded Vale, Agent Moonborn. As you can see, you find us at an unfortunate hour; we have just lost our lord’s heir, and now our lady as well. Fortunately, her murderer has already been apprehended, and we are in the process of bringing him to justice."
Selene's eyes returned to the magistrate standing before her.
"That man?"
"Edér Teylecg. A troublesome individual. Eothasian."
Urgeat spat out that last word like it was a curse.
"I see," Selene said. "Unfortunately, you can't execute him."
What?
"...What?"
That was probably the first and last time he and Urgeat had ever agreed on something.
"The murder of a thayn, or a thayn's immediate family, falls under the duc's jurisdiction," Selene explained matter-of-factly. "In the absence of a representative of the duc's authority, the local authorities may investigate and persecute the crime; however, with a Dunryd Row investigator present, that is no longer the case. In other words, you can't execute this man until I have conducted a thorough investigation and determined that he is guilty; in fact, if you do hang him right now, it will be considered a crime and I will have to arrest you."
Something mesmerizing was happening. The longer she spoke, the more Urgeat seemed to shrink away from her; at no point did she raise her voice, but there was an underlying pressure to the calm, even cadence of her speech that seemed to have a nearly violent effect on the magistrate.
Even with a noose around his neck, Edér found that entertaining to watch. Judging by what he was seeing in the crowd, he wasn't the only one. Though, the villagers weren't exactly on the agent's side, either; many of them were smirking, but just as many were eyeing her with suspicion.
Urgeat made one last feeble attempt to resist:
"Lord Raedric - "
"I would be very grateful if you could arrange an audience with the lord for me," Selene said. "Tell him that a Dunryd Row agent arrived to investigate the murder of his wife, and would like to hear his testimony. I would like to see the body, as well."
There was a long moment of silence.
"I will relay your message to His Lordship," Urgeat said, finally.
Then, the magistrate turned around. His face was even more grey and dead-looking than it usually was.
"You heard the agent," he said to the surrounding guards. "Take him down."
If Selene's appearance earned a murmur from the crowd, the sound they were making now was more like the distant rumble of thunder.
Something was happening that had never happened before, and now every mind in Gilded Vale was feverishly working on the same question: what does this mean for me?
Every mind except for Edér's, that is. He was a little busy trying to come to terms with standing on solid ground again.
Still cold, still with his hands tied, still accused of a murder he didn't commit - but, somehow, alive.
The same guard that took the noose off his neck walked him up to where Selene and the magistrate were talking.
The crowd around them was beginning to disperse. Urgeat never gave an explicit dismissal, but the guards had stepped away from the tree and started giving the rest of the villagers move-along-now looks.
Most folks got the hint, and those who didn't got pulled along by those who did.
Selene glanced at Edér again as he approached; this time her gaze lingered. It felt as though she was assessing something about him.
Eventually she nodded to herself, seemingly having reached a conclusion, and said to the guard standing beside him:
“Untie him, please.”
The man just shuffled in place awkwardly and looked at Urgeat.
"I don’t know if this is wise," the magistrate said. "He may become violent."
Only if you keep talking, Edér thought; usually this kind of thought would come right out of his mouth, but not this time.
He wasn't in a hurry to go back to the tree just yet.
"If he does, I'll protect you," Selene said.
Her voice and expression were dead serious, but she was definitely taking the piss at Urgeat here.
Edér decided that he liked her.
The guard unsheathed his sword and began to saw at the rope at Edér's wrists; meanwhile, Selene turned to him and began speaking.
"Edér Teylecg, by the duc's authority, I am placing you under arrest. No harm will come to you unless you attempt to resist or flee, or your guilt is proven."
The rope fell off.
"Noted," Edèr said.
It was as if she didn't hear.
"Is there a jail in Gilded Vale?" Selene asked, turning to Urgeat again.
The magistrate smiled thinly:
"There are the lord's dungeons."
"Understood," she said. "House arrest it is, then. Please inform the vilagers that they are not to visit the suspect while the investigation is ongoing."
And, just like that, Edèr’s fate was decided.
*
The walk back to his house was silent.
Edér was leading the way, the agent following behind. He could barely hear her steps; a couple times, he even got the urge to turn around and check that she was still there.
He didn't. Wouldn’t want to do anything that she could interpret as "trying to flee or resist"; Edèr had a funny feeling that, despite not having any visible weapons and being a head shorter than him, Selene had her ways of making him regret that.
His mind was still all over the place, trying to work out what his current reality looked like.
He didn't die. He was walking the path back to his house, which, about half an hour ago, he was never going to do again.
There was a Dunryd Row cipher walking behind him. She somehow knew about the murder that happened just this morning; she couldn't have come all the way from Defiance Bay, could she?
Where did she come from?
Why did she stop the hanging?
It was fun watching her have a go at Urgeat, but, now that the magistrate was gone and Edér was alone with her, he did very much want to know what she was planning to do with him.
Now that he thought about it, he didn’t really know what a cipher could do.
There were plenty of folks who came to Gilded Vale saying they were one, and claimed all sorts of powers: some said they could see the future, some that they could read minds and souls. Most of them turned out to be a fraud, and at least a few of them ended up on the tree.
Nothing he could remember about them gave him a frame of reference for what a real Dunryd Row cipher was capable of.
Killing him, probably. Whatever else they taught their agents, Edér was pretty sure they had that part covered.
He was still thinking about that when his house came into view.
Suddenly, Selene's voice sounded behind his back:
"Stop."
He stopped.
"Is that your house?" she asked.
"...Yeah."
"Do you live alone?"
"I do."
"There's someone inside."
…Well, that wasn't right.
"It's just one person," Selene said after a moment. "We can approach. Stay behind me."
Before Edér could ask how she could tell, she walked past him and headed straight for the door.
The only option left was to follow her.
Up close, Edér could hear it too: something was happening inside. There was a heavy scraping noise, like something was being dragged across the floor.
The door gave no resistance when Selene pushed it open; the bolt got broken earlier that morning.
She stepped inside.
The room was a mess. There were drawers open; his clothes were in a heap on the bed; the tools that were supposed to hang on the walls were laid out on the big dining table.
The scraping noise was coming from the far end of the house, where a man was trying to drag a chest out of the corner.
The chest was heavy. Edér knew that, because that's where his Saint's War armor was; his sword and shield, too.
There wasn't much left in the house worth keeping under lock and key, but his armor and weapons were two of the things he did think could be stolen.
Turns out, he was right to worry.
"Excuse us," Selene said.
The man stopped struggling with the chest and froze.
"...Who's that?"
The shadows made it hard to recognize him, but, as soon as Edér heard the voice, he knew.
"Algar, you sheepfucker! Couldn't wait 'til I was dead?"
At the sound of his voice, the man jumped and straightened up at once, turning around to look at them, white as a sheet.
Sure enough, they were looking at Algar Bramweg: reedy, thin-haired and watery-eyed. Came back from the war with burns on his face and left arm, but he came back.
He was a meek guy, but Edér used to think he was alright. Until that moment, that is.
"Edér!" Algar nearly squeaked. "Wh-what are you doing here? Aren't you - "
"Hanging on a tree?" Edér asked grimly. "Matter of fact, I was. They let me down so I could see who was in here, stealing my stuff."
"Well, I - I thought you wouldn't be needing it anymore!" Algar glanced around with the look of a cornered animal in his eyes. "...I'll put it back. I'll put it all back. I - what happened? Who is this?"
With that last question, he gestured wildly at Selene, who was just standing there the entire exchange.
"Agent Selene Moonborn, Dunryd Row," she said. "I take it you weren't in the square when I arrived. All you need to know for now is that the hanging has been postponed, and this building is now off limits. Please return everything you may have taken from here; it could be evidence."
Algar looked completely lost, now.
"...Evidence?"
"In the investigation of Lady Ygrid's murder," Selene clarified. "Like I said, this is all you need to know right now. If you're confused, ask one of your friends who were present for the hanging; I don't have time to repeat the details."
Algar looked over at him.
Edér shrugged:
"I'd do as she says, if I were you."
When Algar was done emptying his pockets, it turned out that he had picked up a couple of smaller tools, Edér’s entire whiteleaf stash, a handful of copper pands - and the book of prayers that survived year after year of purges in spite of Raedric’s efforts, safely hidden on top of one of the ceiling beams.
That last one puzzled him.
Algar didn’t just take the book - he was looking for it. There was no way for him to stumble upon it on accident.
“Alright,” Edér said, “The coins and the whiteleaf, I get. Tools, too. But what did you need that for?”
Algar didn’t quite meet his eyes when he answered:
“Well, so many of those got burned or thrown away, I figured - the right folks would pay a fortune for one that’s still intact.”
So he was going to sell it. Made sense; more sense than Algar secretly being a devout Eothasian, anyhow.
Once Algar had left, Selene shut the door behind him. She regarded the broken bolt for a moment, then said:
"This will have to be fixed."
It wasn't clear whether she was talking to herself or to him.
Then, she turned around and addressed him directly:
“Please, take a seat.”
It was damn weird to be invited to sit down in his own house. Felt like an insult more than anything else; Edér had half a mind to say something about it, but thought better of it.
He pulled a chair out from the dining table and sat down.
As soon as he did, he regretted it. His body realized that he was no longer on his feet, and took it as an invitation to crash; immediately, his limbs felt heavy, and his head began to spin.
The entire morning was now catching up to him. Waking up to guards in his house; being dragged to the square; standing in the rain, counting the seconds left until his last breath.
How long had he been awake for? An hour? Felt like two entire days, at this point.
Black bones of Eothas, he’d almost -
No, wasn’t the time for that. He’d think about that later, or maybe never.
He kind of liked that second option better.
His hands were shaking just a little; probably because he was still really cold.
Edér looked up at the agent.
“Mind if I start the fire?”
“...Oh.” It was as if she’d just realized the same thing he did. “Not at all. If you want to change your clothes, I’ll wait by the door.”
Well, that was nice of her.
He took her up on that offer.
Once he’d gotten a fire going in the firepit and changed into the clothes Algar so kindly left out for him on the bed, it was much easier to believe that he was, in fact, still alive.
Algar was going to take his whiteleaf, but he’d left the pipe right where it was. Figures; he had his own.
“You smoke, agent?” Edér asked, just as she stepped back into the room.
“I don’t, but you can go ahead.”
And so they sat down at the table, the fire in the middle of the room casting their shadows onto the far wall, the smoke from his pipe rising like a sheer curtain between them.
He was at home, now, and a little more certain that he could handle whatever Selene was about to throw at him.
“Suppose I should thank you,” Edér said. “If it weren't for you showing up when you did, would have been one more corpse on that tree - and Algar would’ve been smoking my whiteleaf just about now.”
For the first time since she walked out into the square, he saw Selene’s expression become something other than a distant, observing look.
Her eyes narrowed just a little, her pupils twinkling like twin stars in the night sky; she didn’t really smile, but her face softened in a way that made him think that maybe it was her way of smiling.
“It was a close call,” she said. “I’m glad I could stop them from hanging an innocent.”
Whatever Edér expected her to say, that was not it.
He didn't think he'd feel that much relief at hearing her say it, either. Of course he didn't murder the lady; he knew that. Half of Gilded Vale probably knew that too, but none of them would ever say it out loud if they wanted to stay safe.
But how did Selene know?
"...You figure that out with your cipher powers?"
The only other option he could think of was that she killed the lady, and Edér really hoped it wasn’t that.
“Good guess,” Selene said.
Her eyes drifted away from him for a moment, like she was considering something, or hesitating.
Finally, she said:
"I'll get straight to the point: I wasn't sent here to investigate the murder of Lady Ygrid. As far as I know, no one outside of Gilded Vale even knows that she’s dead.”
It took him a moment to process what she was saying.
“...Wait, so… what’s all this for?”
Selene sighed. Something was gone from her voice and her posture now - that invisible pressure she used against Urgeat. It was as if an act had been dropped.
“I came to Gilded Vale on Dunryd Row business that had nothing to do with Lady Ygrid. I happened to arrive just as an execution was happening. I read the mind of the man about to be hanged and knew that he didn’t commit the crime he was being accused of, so… I intervened in the only way I could think of.”
…By lying to Urgeat.
Wait.
She read his mind?
So that was true about ciphers, then.
Oh gods. How much did she see? Did she know about - no, she couldn’t. She wouldn’t have helped him, had she known.
Was she listening right now?
“I’m not reading your mind right now,” Selene said.
Edér couldn’t help but laugh nervously:
“You’re not really helping your own case here. How’d you know I just thought that?”
She shrugged:
“It’s the first thought people have when they realize I can do this.”
Oh.
“...Well, alright, that’s fair.”
“Sometimes, I can’t help but overhear the thoughts of others,” Selene said. “Usually, those thoughts are surface-level and charged with intense emotion. Feelings of pain or anger, for example. In your case, you were thinking pretty loudly that you didn’t do it.”
Well, now he had to ask.
“...Was I… thinking about anything else?”
Selene met his eyes, unblinking.
“You were cold. And you wanted the magistrate to shut up.”
“...That sounds about right.”
She didn’t hear about the bodies in the cellar. He must have had some unbelievable luck.
Better not waste it.
“From now on, I’ll always let you know when I’m listening to your thoughts,” Selene said. “I’m saying this because I would like us to be allies.”
She leaned forward, cutting through the protective curtain of whiteleaf smoke and bringing her face just a little closer to his. The glowing markings on her cheeks, a dot and an upturned crescent moon under each eye, stood out starkly against her skin.
“I want you to help me find the real murderer of Lady Ygrid.”
This answered the question of what she wanted from him, at least.
"Why do you think I can help?" Edér asked. "If you really read my mind, you saw that I don’t know anything."
"About the murder, maybe, but you know Gilded Vale," Selene said. "I could use the help of a local. And, for better or worse, you're the only one in town I trust right now - seeing as you're the only one who wasn't almost an accomplice in another murder today."
"...Wait, what?"
She gave him an amused look.
"I'm talking about your murder, Edér. What do you think that hanging was?"
Well, that was a charged question, wasn't it.
He glanced over at the Eothasian book of prayers, still resting on the far end of the table. Was there even a point in trying to hide it again?
"Some folks 'round here would call it justice," he said, finally.
Selene followed his gaze to the book, gave a little nod and withdrew, putting some more distance between them again.
"I wish I could say it's not the same in Defiance Bay, but I'd be lying," she said. "Where you have Raedric, we have the Dozens. They don't have nearly as much power, and that's the best thing I can say about them."
"Seems you don't like them much."
"I don't. Like your magistrate, they like to point fingers, and make my work - finding the truth - harder."
She paused for a moment, then asked:
"You fought in the war, didn't you?"
"I did," Edér said. "On the right side, mind you. Got any doubts, you can read my mind about it."
Selene shook her head.
"I believe you. I just wanted to say - that’s another reason you’re a good ally to have. You did the right thing, even if it meant standing up to your god; that takes more than bravery."
Edér nearly choked on the puff he'd just taken from his pipe.
Gods damn. Would he ever figure out what she was about? Every time it felt like he was starting to get a beat on the conversation, she'd hit him with something else.
"Now here’s something you don't hear a lot these days," he said.
Now Selene smiled, but there wasn't an ounce of joy in it.
"I dedicated my life to digging up things others desperately want forgotten," she said. "Maybe I haven't gone to war against Ondra, but I can't imagine she's too happy with me, either. You had to go even further; I think that calls for respect, not persecution."
Edér stared at her for a moment.
"I've got to ask," he said, finally. "Are all of you Dunryd folks like this, or is it just you?"
"What do you mean?"
"I don't know. You're getting real involved in something you've got no stakes in. Sharing all kinds of opinions. Round here, that's how you end up on the tree; trust me, I know."
Something in her expression shifted; it became cold and pointed, and, for a moment, Edér was sure that he fucked up.
"I don't like seeing people be disposed of," Selene said.
And then that chilling look was gone.
"...Besides, solving crimes is what I do. I wasn't ordered to investigate this one, but I don't think my superiors would mind, as long as I completed my original mission as well."
Edér decided that it was probably safe to start breathing again.
"You're goddamn weird, agent," he said. "I don't know what exactly I can do, but - I think I wanna help you."
Again, that smiling-without-smiling look.
"I'm glad," Selene said.
"Well... What's our move, then?"
She regarded him for a moment.
"Take a minute to recover. Clean up, eat something," she said. "Then, we'll go see the crime scene."
Notes (spoilers for The Reaping):
In The Reaping, Edér and his ex Elafa end up killing two of Raedric's soldiers, who were threatening Elafa and her Hollowborn child. Edér hides their bodies in an abandoned house; Elafa leaves the town with her child the same night.

𝒞𝒽𝒶𝓅𝓉𝑒𝓇 𝟫
The early morning light filtered through your curtains, casting a soft glow across the room as you stood there, emotions swirled within you like leaves caught in a gentle breeze. A week had passed since your last encounter with Alastor. The absence of his presence was a silent echo in your heart. *He knew where you lived; why hadn’t he come by?* The memory of his smile, the warmth of his touch—it all felt like a fragile dream now. But today was different. Today, you were preparing to visit Cindy’s house, a task that brought a familiar sense of frustration.
Meeting yet another suitor, James, was not something you looked forward to. The very thought of it made you feel like you were being paraded in a market, your feelings and desires secondary to the transaction at hand. You couldn't help but wonder if your mother only saw you as a piece to be moved in the grand chessboard of societal expectations.
As she adjusted the fabric of your dress, her hands were gentle, but her presence was a reminder of the expectations placed upon you. Your reflection in the mirror showed a figure of elegance and grace, yet your mind was miles away, lost in the memory of Alastor's kiss.
"Alright, you look beautiful, sweetheart," your mother's voice brought you back to the present, her tone filled with pride and affection.
"Thanks, mom," managing a smile as you met your own gaze in the mirror. You took in the sight of yourself, dressed up for someone else, while your heart ached for Alastor. The longing was a silent whisper, a contrast to the outward image of readiness.
Today, you would meet James, but your soul was already entwined with another. As you followed your mother downstairs, each step felt like a small betrayal to the love that had begun to bloom within you. Yet, you knew that no matter the outcome of today's meeting, Alastor had already claimed a piece of your heart that no one else could touch.
"First, we need to head to town; I gotta stop by Samantha's shop," your mother's words floated through the air, a prelude to the day's errands. You nodded in response, a gesture that belied the flutter of excitement at the thought of possibly encountering Alastor.
With each step towards the heart of town, the anticipation grew. The familiar streets held a new promise, and the mundane journey transformed into a path of potential encounters.
As you entered Samantha's shop, the bell above the door chimed, announcing your arrival. The scent of fresh flowers and the subtle fragrance of incense filled the air, a sensory embrace that was both welcoming and calming.
"Hello and welcome!" Samantha's voice, bright and cheerful, cut through the quiet hum of the shop. She emerged from behind a display of colorful trinkets, her arms open wide as she enveloped your mother in a warm hug.
Then, turning towards you, her smile was a beam of sunlight on a cloudy day. "It's so good to see you," her greeting carrying the weight of genuine affection.
You returned the smile, feeling a sense of belonging in this small corner of the world. Yet, beneath the pleasantries, your heart raced with the hope that today might just be the day you'd see Alastor again, even if just for a fleeting moment.
The murmur of conversation between your mother and Samantha became a distant hum as you stepped outside, the door closing softly behind you. The outside world greeted you with a gentle breeze and the soft bustle of the town's daily life. Your eyes scanned the surroundings, a silent wish in your heart to catch a glimpse of Alastor.
And then, as if summoned by your silent pleas, you spotted him. Alastor was there, just across the street, engaged in conversation with a woman whose laughter seemed to echo in your chest. A pang of jealousy struck you, sharp and unexpected. *Who is she?* The question gnawed at you, but the answer was clear: you were nothing to him, and yet, he was everything to you.
You couldn't help but watch Alastor from afar, the way his eyes crinkled when he laughed. The woman with him was laughing too, touching his arm in a familiar way that made your heart sink.
Time seemed to stretch and warp as you watched them, the laughter and conversation a silent movie to which you knew all the words yet couldn't bear to hear. Jealousy, a green-eyed monster, whispered in your ear, urging you to cross the street, to confront, to claim what you felt was yours.
But then, a voice, clear and concerned, cut through the fog of your emotions. "Y/N, where are you going?" It was your mother, her intuition like a lighthouse guiding you back from the rocky shores of rash decisions.
You cast a final glance at Alastor, now disappearing into the crowd with the woman, and a heavy sigh escaped your lips. Your heart, once buoyant with the memory of a kiss, now felt like an anchor dragging you down. The questions raced through your mind, a carousel of doubts: *Did the kiss mean nothing to him? Was it all just a game?*
As you turned to face your mother, the mask of composure settled upon your features. The day ahead with James awaited, a script written by expectation and duty. Yet, within the chambers of your heart, a single hope flickered, refusing to be extinguished—that perhaps, just perhaps, there was more to Alastor's story than what your eyes had seen.
——————————————
The knock on Cindy's door echoed the pounding of your heart, each beat a reminder of the turmoil within. You stood there, your gaze fixed on the ground, as if it held the answers to the questions swirling in your mind about Alastor and the mysterious woman.
The feelings of betrayal, the anger at the possibility of being played—it all churned inside you like a storm. Yet, doubt lingered, a voice whispering that perhaps there was more to the story than you knew.
"Coming," a voice called from within, the sound of approaching footsteps breaking through your reverie. The door swung open, revealing Cindy, her blonde hair and blue eyes a stark contrast to the chaos of your emotions.
"Hello, Cindy," your mother greeted her with an excitement that felt foreign to you at that moment. "I'm here with my daughter, Y/N."
As you lifted your eyes to meet Cindy's, you forced a smile, the mask of politeness firmly in place. But behind that smile, your thoughts were still with Alastor, wondering about the truth of his affections and the identity of the woman.
Cindy invited you inside calling James in the process. The sight of James, emerging with a tentative smile, was a reminder of the day's purpose. His shy demeanor was endearing, yet it paled in comparison to the vivid memory of Alastor's confident gaze.
The meeting unfolded like a well-rehearsed play, each line delivered with polite interest, each smile a courteous gesture. But beneath the surface, your heart remained untouched, unswayed by James's gentle charm. He was kind, yes, but he was not Alastor.
With the meeting behind you, the image of James lingered in your mind—not because of a burgeoning affection, but because of his stark contrast to Alastor. The encounter had been pleasant, yet it lacked the spark that Alastor had ignited within you.
The journey home was quiet, a reflective space where thoughts swirled like leaves in the wind. The decision to return to town was not made lightly; it was driven by a need for closure, for answers, for something that would either soothe the ache in your heart or confirm your worst fears.
The decision was made before you fully realized it; you needed to see Alastor, to seek the truth that would either calm the storm within you or unleash it.
"Mom, I gotta go to town. I need to visit Samantha; I got something to ask her," your voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions inside.
Your mother's smile was one of encouragement, her thoughts on a different track, believing you sought advice from Samantha about Anthony. "Sure sweetheart, go right ahead," her words a gentle push towards what she perceived as a budding romance.
"Be careful, sweetie," her voice followed you as you walked away, a reminder of the safety net that was always there, no matter where your heart led you.
With a wave and a deep breath, you set off, the image of Alastor and the unknown woman replaying in your mind. The need for answers propelled you forward, a mix of dread and determination fueling your steps. Today, you would confront the man who had stirred such profound feelings within you, seeking clarity amidst the confusion of a kiss that felt like both a beginning and an end.
———————————
The town, once a tapestry of familiar faces and places, had transformed into a labyrinth in your quest to find Alastor. Each glance, each turn of your head was fueled by the hope of spotting him, the man who had unwittingly become the compass of your heart.
Standing in front of Samantha's shop, you paused, scanning the crowd for any sign of him. The sight of Samantha inside the shop was a reminder of the pretense you had given your mother, but the urgency of your mission left no room for distractions.
As the day bled into evening, the golden hues of sunset casting long shadows on the cobblestones, a creeping sense of despair began to take hold. The possibility of not finding Alastor loomed over you, a cloud threatening to burst.
But then, a voice that called out to you was unmistakable, a sound you'd come to associate with a myriad of emotions. "Hello darling, looking for something?" Alastor's voice was as smooth and gentle as you remembered, a stark contrast to the frantic beating of your heart.
You turned to face him, and there he was, the man who had been the cause of both elation and distress. His smile was disarming, and as he lowered himself to your level, the world around you seemed to fade into the background. His hands were casually placed behind his back, and his glasses slid just slightly down the bridge of his nose, giving him an air of casual elegance.
For a moment, you were speechless, caught in the whirlwind of emotions his presence evoked. The questions, the doubts, the jealousy—all of it was pushed aside by the sheer force of his charm. You were reminded once again of just how handsome he was, and how easily he could stir your soul.
"Everything alright, dear?" His voice brought you back to the present, to the reality of the situation.
"Yes, I... I was looking for you," you managed to say.
“For me?” a hint of surprise in his voice.
“Yes for you”you affirmed, the words barely a whisper but laden with meaning.
He stepped back fixing his glasses, his eyes never leaving yours, and in them, you found yourself lost, unable to voice the doubts and fears that had led you here. "Well here I am, what is it that you need, ma cherie?" Alastor's voice was gentle, his French endearment a soft touch amidst the tension.
"I just wanted to see you, I haven't seen you in days," choosing to keep the storm of your emotions at bay. His response was casual, as if the charged moment shared between you had been nothing but a fleeting instance. "Yes indeed, how are things?" he inquired, his demeanor nonchalant.
The frustration within you grew, a silent scream against his apparent indifference. "Everything's fine," the facade of composure intact. Yet, beneath that surface, a whirlwind of confusion and hurt raged, leaving you to wonder if the connection you felt was merely a figment of your desires. Alastor stood there, seemingly oblivious to the turmoil he'd caused.
“Would you like to come with me, dear”
The invitation hung in the air, Alastor's calm and gentle voice offering a reprieve from the storm of emotions within you. Despite the tension that clenched your fists, you found yourself unable to resist. His presence was magnetic, pulling you in with an invisible force that your heart couldn't deny.
He extended his arm, a silent gesture of companionship, and with a nod that carried the weight of your unspoken feelings, you accepted. Your arms wrapped around his, a physical manifestation of the connection that seemed to defy explanation.
"Where are we going?" The question was a whisper of curiosity, a desire to know more than just the destination.
"A jazz club, I promise you will enjoy it, darling," he assured you, his smile a constant, comforting presence.
The jazz club greeted you with an embrace of shadows and melodies. The dim lighting set the stage for an evening of intimacy. Alastor led you to a secluded table, a private world within the public domain, where the ambiance wrapped around you like a velvet cloak.
Your heart danced to the beat of the music. The jazz club, with its cocoon of melodies and whispers, became a haven where the outside world faded away, leaving only the two of you, and the music.
The waiter's question was a brief interruption to the enchanting atmosphere of the jazz club. "Would you like something to drink?" his voice almost blending into the background music.
Alastor's choice of whiskey was made with an air of certainty, a testament to his assured nature. You, seeking to add your own touch to the evening, opted for a martini.
When the waiter returned, the clink of the glasses as he set them down was a prelude to a new experience. The martini, with its clear elegance, stood as a symbol of the night's sophistication. You lifted the glass, the cool surface against your fingers a contrast to the warmth of the club.
With a sip, the crispness of the martini washed over you, a perfect blend of strength and subtlety. It was a dance of flavors on your tongue, a companion to the night's unfolding narrative. And there, in the secluded corner of the jazz club, with Alastor by your side, the evening continued to weave its magic around you.
The evening had unfolded like a melody, each moment with Alastor a note that resonated within you. The dance, the conversation, the shared laughter—all of it had woven a tapestry of connection that was hard to step away from. But as the night drew to a close, reality beckoned.
"I have to go now, Alastor," you whispered, leaning in close enough to be enveloped by the scent of his cologne. It was a fragrance that spoke of warmth and mystery, a fitting accompaniment to the man himself.
Alastor's concern was evident as he offered to walk you home. "Would you like me to walk you home? It's pretty late; I wouldn't want anything happening to you." His words were a gentle reminder of the care that had begun to blossom between you.
After a brief hesitation, where the desire to stay clashed with the need to leave, you accepted his offer. "Yes, that would be greatly appreciated." His arm extended towards you, a bridge over the threshold of the evening's end.
As you wrapped your arms in his, the simple act felt significant. Together, you stepped out of the jazz club, leaving behind the cocoon of music and dim lights, stepping into the cool embrace of the night.
“You know, you’re a great dancer,” your voice barely above a whisper. The words slipped out, fueled by the heady mix of martini and Alastor’s intoxicating presence.
He chuckled, the sound like velvet. “Thank you darling, you’re not bad yourself”
The walk home with Alastor was a continuation of the evening's enchantment, each step accompanied by laughter and the easy flow of conversation. But as the familiar silhouette of your house appeared, a sense of reality set in. You chose to part ways with Alastor, not wanting to risk the chance of your parents seeing him.
"I'll go alone from here, thank you again, Alastor, it was fun," offering him a smile that carried the warmth of the night's memories. His response was gracious, a reflection of the care he had shown throughout the evening. "It was my pleasure, darling. Now I'll wait here until you enter your home safely."
With a final smile and a fleeting kiss you turned towards your home. Alastor's figure remained, a silent guardian watching over your safe return. Once inside, you made your way to the window, the gesture of waving back to him a silent conversation across the distance. He acknowledged your signal, a nod and a wave that sealed the night's experience.
As he disappeared into the embrace of the night, you were left with a heart full of questions and a hope that the story between you and Alastor was far from over.

My Hero Academia Ch. 425 Thoughts
To tell you the truth, I'm relieved. When I saw how the fight with Tenko/AFO ended, I was immensely disappointed.
I felt like we were going to smash cut to the final chapter, everyone in the LOV would be dead, and we'd get some smarmy shot of Deku clenching his fist and staring at the sky saying, "But someday, we'll fix these problems. Someday, somehow, this will be our Hero Academia." For me, that would have been the worst outcome possible. Like it'd make me depressed.
Seeing that we're probably going to get an actual mini-story arc to wrap things up is so important to me. And to be honest, I'm much more fascinated by the potential of this last little leg of the story than I was with most of the war arc.
This is something I've never really seen a Shonen do, follow up the big final slugfest with a stretch of story that's marked by so much uncertainty, less action and more focus on drama, suspense, and emotional content. I'm in a position where I don't know what the story's going to throw at me, and that has me excited. Especially with Horikoshi acknowledging that this set of circumstances can't be neatly tied off in just a quick batch of two or three chapters.
As for what's actually in the chapter, I love how even the gags have this morose tinge to them. Like everyone's trying to crack jokes or goof off in order to cope with the pain. Seeing Fuwa again was also really nice, since I love her design and personality so much. I think she's the kind of upperclassman the 2-A gang need right now - cheerful, laidback, but experienced and confident, too.
Getting to that reveal towards the end, I think the person with the dark hair is actually Toga transformed into another patient. I get the feeling she's trying to escape the hospital, and that gives me a lot to think about. She was sure she'd be killed if she was caught, so is she being taken care of? Or is she being mistreated? I've heard horror stories about mental health institutions even for patients without a criminal record. I wonder if Horikoshi is going to do something so dark as to show Toga being abused and Ochako needing to rescue her from that situation.
I also think it's pretty clear that at the very end, Endeavor is sitting in front of Touya inside some sort of regeneration tank like from DBZ. He's probably going to be in there for years, and it's probably going to cost the Todoroki family a fortune to keep him alive.
Overall, I think this is good. Really, really good, so long as Horikoshi takes a little more time to really deliver. Have the students confront the system head on and save the people who still need them. I hope after his break, we see Horikoshi really give the story the finale that it needs the most.

On a collision course - Tsukishima Kei x f!Reader
I read a post a while ago and this was the line that caugh my attention: "Well have you considered that maybe the unstoppable force is in love with the immovable object; maybe the reason one refuses to move is because they both long for the collision"
masterlist
Tumblr media
The sound of volleyballs hitting the gym floor echoed through Karasuno High School's gymnasium. The boys' volleyball team was practicing, and as usual, Tsukishima Kei was giving it his all, even if his aloof expression didn't show it. His tall frame and impressive blocking skills made him a formidable player on the court, but his sharp tongue and condescending attitude often rubbed people the wrong way.
Y/N, the team's manager, had known Tsukishima since middle school. They had never gotten along. While Y/N was outgoing and passionate, Tsukishima was reserved and indifferent. Their clashes were legendary, and their mutual disdain was well-known among their friends. Y/N believed in encouragement and support, while Tsukishima believed in brutal honesty and criticism.
Today was no different.
"Tsukishima, your timing was off on that last block," Y/N called out, her voice clear and authoritative.
Tsukishima shot her a withering look. "Maybe if you knew anything about volleyball, you'd realize it was a feint. But thanks for your insightful commentary, manager."
Y/N felt her face heat up. "I'm just trying to help. It's not my fault if you're too stubborn to listen."
The tension between them was palpable, and their teammates exchanged wary glances. This was a regular occurrence, and they had learned to stay out of it.
As practice ended, Y/N stayed behind to clean up. She liked the quiet of the gym when everyone else had left. It gave her a chance to think and unwind. She was wiping down the benches when she heard footsteps behind her. Turning, she saw Tsukishima, his face unreadable.
"Forgot my water bottle," he said curtly, grabbing it from the bench.
Y/N nodded, not wanting to engage further. But as he turned to leave, she couldn't help herself. "You know, just because we don't agree on everything doesn't mean you have to be such a jerk."
Tsukishima stopped and turned back to her, a hint of surprise in his eyes. "And just because you think you're always right doesn't mean you are."
Y/N sighed, feeling the familiar frustration bubble up. "Why do you always have to be so difficult?"
"Why do you always have to be so naive?" he shot back. "This isn't some feel-good story where everyone holds hands and sings Kumbaya. This is volleyball. It's about winning."
Y/N stared at him, her anger giving way to something else. "Maybe it's not just about winning, Tsukishima. Maybe it's also about working together, about being a team."
For a moment, Tsukishima didn't respond. He just looked at her, his eyes searching hers. Then he shook his head. "Whatever. Believe what you want."
As he walked away, Y/N felt a pang of sadness. She didn't understand why he had to be so cold, why he pushed everyone away. She wanted to help him, to break through that wall he had built around himself. But she didn't know how.
Days turned into weeks, and the animosity between Y/N and Tsukishima continued. Yet, something had changed. Their arguments were still frequent, but there was an undercurrent of something else, something neither of them wanted to acknowledge.
One evening, after a particularly grueling practice, Y/N found herself alone in the gym once more. She was lost in thought when she heard the door open and close. Expecting it to be one of the players, she was surprised to see Tsukishima.
"Hey," he said, his tone unusually soft.
Y/N looked up, her heart skipping a beat. "Hey."
There was an awkward silence before Tsukishima spoke again. "I… I wanted to apologize. For earlier. And for… everything."
Y/N blinked, taken aback. "What brought this on?"
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I've been thinking. Maybe you're right. Maybe I am too stubborn. And maybe… maybe I push people away because I'm afraid."
"Afraid of what?" Y/N asked, her voice gentle.
"Of getting close to people. Of getting hurt," he admitted, his eyes downcast.
Y/N's heart ached at his vulnerability. She took a step closer, reaching out to touch his arm. "You don't have to be afraid, Tsukishima. You have people who care about you. And… I care about you too."
He looked up, his eyes searching hers. "You do?"
She nodded, her hand still on his arm. "I do."
For a moment, they just stood there, the air between them charged with emotion. Then, slowly, Tsukishima reached out and pulled her into a hug. It was tentative at first, but as Y/N wrapped her arms around him, he held her tighter.
"I'm sorry," he whispered, his voice breaking.
"It's okay," she whispered back. "We're in this together."
The change in their relationship was gradual but undeniable. They still bickered, but there was a warmth now, a connection that hadn't been there before. They learned to trust each other, to support each other, and in the process, they grew closer.
One evening, after a long day of practice and homework, Y/N and Tsukishima found themselves walking home together. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the town. They walked in comfortable silence, their hands brushing occasionally.
"Do you remember what you said to me in the gym that day?" Tsukishima asked suddenly, breaking the silence.
Y/N looked at him, puzzled. "Which part?"
"The part about working together, about being a team," he said, his voice soft.
She nodded. "Yeah, I remember."
He stopped walking and turned to face her, his expression serious. "I think… I think that's when I realized I was falling for you."
Y/N's heart skipped a beat. "Really?"
He nodded, taking her hands in his. "Yeah. I know I've been difficult, and I've said things I shouldn't have. But the truth is, I've never felt this way about anyone before. You're the unstoppable force, and I'm the immovable object. And maybe… maybe the reason I refused to move was because I longed for the collision."
Y/N felt tears prick her eyes as she smiled. "You know, for someone who doesn't talk about their feelings much, you sure know how to say the right thing."
He chuckled, pulling her closer. "Well, I had a good teacher."
She laughed, wrapping her arms around his neck. "So, what now?"
"Now," he said, leaning in to kiss her softly, "we see where this collision takes us."
As their lips met, Y/N felt a surge of happiness. She had always believed in the power of working together, of being a team. And now, with Tsukishima by her side, she knew they could face anything.
Together, they were unstoppable.
The days that followed were filled with a newfound sense of camaraderie and affection. Tsukishima, despite his initial reluctance, began to open up more, not just to Y/N but to the entire team. His sharp remarks became less frequent, replaced by genuine contributions and encouragement. The team noticed the change, and their performance on the court improved as a result.
One day, after practice, the team gathered in the locker room. Hinata, ever the curious one, finally voiced what everyone had been wondering.
"Hey, Tsukishima, Y/N," he began, a mischievous grin on his face. "What's going on with you two? You've been acting... different."
Kageyama nodded in agreement, adding, "Yeah, it's like you two are getting along or something."
The rest of the team murmured their agreement, all eyes on Tsukishima and Y/N. Tsukishima glanced at Y/N, who gave him an encouraging smile.
Taking a deep breath, Tsukishima decided to be honest. "Well, we had a bit of a... breakthrough. We've realized that we work better together rather than against each other."
Hinata's eyes widened in excitement. "Does that mean you two are...?"
Y/N laughed, cutting him off before he could finish. "Yes, Hinata, we're together."
The team erupted in cheers and playful teasing. Nishinoya and Tanaka gave Tsukishima exaggerated thumbs-ups, while Suga and Daichi offered genuine congratulations. Even Kageyama managed a rare smile.
As the team settled down, Tsukishima felt a sense of relief. It felt good to have their support and understanding. He turned to Y/N, who was beaming at him.
"Looks like they approve," she said softly.
"Looks like it," he agreed, squeezing her hand.
Y/N and Tsukishima found solace in each other. They spent their free time studying, hanging out, and sometimes just enjoying each other's company in comfortable silence. The more they learned about each other, the stronger their bond grew.
One evening, after a particularly tough practice session, the team gathered for a casual dinner at a local diner. As they laughed and shared stories, Y/N couldn't help but feel a deep sense of contentment. She glanced at Tsukishima, who was sitting across from her, engaged in a rare, light-hearted conversation with Hinata and Kageyama.
As if sensing her gaze, Tsukishima looked up and met her eyes. He gave her a small, genuine smile that made her heart flutter. In that moment, she knew that the collision they had both longed for had transformed them in ways they hadn't expected.
After dinner, Tsukishima offered to walk Y/N home. The night was cool, and the stars twinkled above them as they strolled through the quiet streets. Y/N leaned into his side, enjoying the warmth of his presence.
"Thank you," Tsukishima said suddenly, his voice breaking the silence.
Y/N looked up at him, puzzled. "For what?"
"For pushing me," he replied. "For believing in me even when I didn't deserve it. You've changed me, Y/N. You've made me want to be a better person."
She smiled, feeling a swell of affection for the boy who had once been her enemy. "And thank you for letting me in. For trusting me. I wouldn't change a thing."
They walked in silence for a while longer, lost in their thoughts. When they reached Y/N's house, Tsukishima hesitated before speaking again.
"Can I ask you something?" he said, his tone uncharacteristically shy.
"Of course," Y/N replied, curious.
"Do you think… do you think this is real? What we have?" he asked, his eyes searching hers for reassurance.
Y/N took his hand, squeezing it gently. "I think it's as real as it gets, Tsukishima. We're not perfect, but we're perfect for each other. And that's what matters."
Relief washed over his face, and he leaned down to kiss her. It was a kiss filled with promise and hope, a symbol of the journey they had taken together.
As they pulled apart, Y/N smiled up at him. "We're unstoppable
, remember?"
He chuckled, nodding. "Yeah, we are."
They said their goodbyes, and as Y/N watched him walk away, she couldn't help but feel excited for the future. They had faced their fears and doubts, and now they were stronger for it. Together, they were ready to take on whatever challenges came their way.
And so, the unstoppable force and the immovable object continued their collision course, hand in hand, ready for whatever the world had in store for them.

tumblr user goldenharmony im. head in hands. i am losing it over click link or whatever that show was called surely i dont remember. im fine (hello) please tell me you experienec with this show i neend to talk owiwiuwewiwijedhwejd.
LOL OK 😭
Idk how you discovered Link Click (or mentioned it in your reblogs), but I use MAL a lot and noticed that s1 was pretty high on the rankings during its airing.
Then later that year, I watched Gigguk's vid on Link Click since he's an anituber I like. I do laugh at the fact that I read the title and was like "Nah, it's not better than Steins;Gate :) " since that's MY favourite anime (and a time-travel one), and he basically implied that it wasn't as great as Steins;Gate when handling certain aspects LOL (although still is praising the series throughout this review). Fun Fact - his vid on Oshi no Ko is the whole reason I checked out the OnK manga eventually since I read Aka Akasaka's Kaguya-sama and wanted more but the premise of "simp doctor reincarnated as his idol's child" sounded rlly sus LOL.
It's why I was also kinda confused when later on MAL, I saw that Link Click had a s2 but didn't hear any hype for it despite hearing a bit for s1. I guess that was cause of Gigguk's influence on the anime community since I don't think he watched s2 so there was no big anime influencer hyping it up sadly.
Eventually late last November, someone in the AquaKana server was being very vocal on wanting to push the Link Click agenda soo I decided why not - its been a long time since I watched a time-loop series. She was also a huge fan of Steins;Gate so I trusted her judgement.
Watched ep 1 in original before having to switch to Eng Dub after cause I was not clicking with the show due to being distracted by a new language that I wasn't used to hearing yet 😭But after that, I watched a few eps per day, binged s1 ep 7-11 in one sitting, and then binged s2 in one sitting as well LOL. I was also was waiting for CFE results to see if I passed - my major career-defining exam and watching Link Click actively helped me not stress on the days leading up to it because my thoughts were preoccupied by it.
S1 gave me a Vivy/Violet Evergarden feel with its short stories, and S2 reminded me more of Death Note with it being a suspenseful murder mystery involving supernatural powers. One thing I loved is finding some stuff that Link Click does unique compared to other time-loop series. For example - actively trying to NOT change the past, and instead using the looping to understand how to resolve issues in the present. I also like it leaning into the thriller aspect more compared to other time-loop series I've seen.
CXS and LG also fall into the 2 looper categories that most loopers do. CXS being the impulsive and emotional type and LG being the stoic and serious type who has gotten jaded from all their looping.
Also I am pretty fine with how QL has been handled so far, since its not a "female character" thing to me in how she isn't as prominent as CXS and LG but more of a "character who isn't CXS and LG" thing considering the series has a lot of characters but we don't dive too deeply in most of them. Plus she's been handled much better compared to other anime series that have the set-up of "2 male leads in a suspenseful thriller show, with a girl as an almost secondary character". Thinking of Misa from Death Note and Lisa from Terror in Resonance, who are disappointing in their roles.
I also like how the fight scenes are actually well-animated since most non-action anime included fight scenes are....not great LOL.

Please Cook Your Fish First
"The prefects find Y/n went fish hunting and is eating their fish raw(cuz they can’t cook it with ice-sadly)" Courtesy of- QUEEN Skippy on Quotev
This is gonna be sometime after the prefects have seen Y/N's dragon form, so there will be no surprised there.
The Prefect's POV
"Where is Y/N?" Riddle asked, annoyance lacing his voice. Y/N had contacted all the prefects to set up a meeting time because they wanted to spend time with all of them. They all agreed to meet near the entrance of the Botanical Garden, a place the prefects knew Y/N likes to frequent. But now that they had all gathered, even the lazy Leona, the reclusive Idia and the very excited Malleus, Y/N was no where to be seen. They tried waiting for about twenty minutes, but after that they all got worried.
"Child of Dragon's did say to meet at this time, correct?" Malleus checked, just to make sure they hadn't misunderstood the ice dragon.
Leona scoffed. "Of course, we have in down in text. They are the one who's late." He rolled his eyes while his ears twitched discretely, trying to listen for where the Lizard is. While Leona was trying to listen for Y/N, it was actually Malleus who heard something first.
"Was that...the sound of water splashing?" he paused to listen again. Everyone, hearing Malleus, stopped to listen as well. While none picked up on what the fae heard with his incredible hearing, they followed when he suddenly stood up and started walking into the wooded area behind the Botanical Garden.
When they reached a clearing, they spotted a lake. (There's no lake on NRC property canonically but there is now for the sake of this story) It's a decent sized lake, filled with murky water but also filled with fish and other lake-dwelling animals. Actually, not a lot of people acknowledge this lake since it's hidden behind the Botanical Garden, and few of the prefects have actually been here.
Malleus continued forward but stayed near the tree line, inciting the others to do the same. While they looked towards the lake, they all saw as a patch of the water right off the overgrown shore stirred. The water rippled violently. Something big was surfacing.
The surface of the water suddenly broke, and into the air hopped a dragon, white scales tinted blue and sharp spikes down it's back. The dragon landed on the shore almost gracefully, tail thrashing behind it.
"Y/N!" Kalim whispered excitedly. It's been quite a long time since he's last seen Y/N in their dragon form since they insist on not taking that form as often.
"Yes, Kalim, it is. But what were they doing down in the lake?" Azul asked. He's never been in the lake himself, preferring the saltwater of Octavinelle's tanks, but he knows the lake itself can't be very deep and it looks so dirty to swim in. There's no way it's easy to see in to just be enjoying a swim.
"I don't know what, but why would they want to swim in such disgustingly dirty water?" Vil responded incredulously. There's no way that water is good for their pristine, white scales! He may need to help them clean their scales later.
Everyone went silent when Y/N turned enough for them to see their face. They first saw Y/N's razor sharp teeth, but that's only because Y/N's mouth was open, filled with....fish? Resting in Y/N's mouth was about a dozen large fish, violently shaking and spasming around, trying to escape the predator that has caught them. Despite the constant moving, Y/N kept hold of their pray and even seemed to not notice the frantic motions of the fish.
Y/N moved to a large clearing in the overgrowth, a spot that showed clear signs of the plants being frozen, snapped and then brushed out of the way. Walking in a few circles, sort of like a dog, Y/N finally settled down and dropped all the fish, which have now stopped moving, into an open spot they had made. They used their body as a wall to make sure none of the fish could escape back to the water.
From the treeline not too far away, the prefects were still watching. Some of them wanted to go over and question Y/N, ask them what they were doing and why they weren't at the Botanical Garden when they had requested the meet up. But, when Kalim tried to step forward, Malleus stretched out a hand to stop him. Kalim looked up at the tall fae with confusion.
"Just wait a moment, I want to see what Child of Dragon's does." Kalim, although confused, will admit that he was curious himself, so he stepped back again and continued to watch, just like the others.
Y/N's POV
Y/N finally decided that all the fish were dead. Now, they knew that, technically, they should be at the Botanical Garden right now with the prefects, not at the lake fishing. Buuut, Y/N arrived at the Botanical Garden much earlier than they thought they would, so it was either wait or go explore a bit. And exploring sounded much more interesting than waiting around.
So when Y/N stumbled across this lake that they had absolutely no idea existed, they got excited and quickly got comfortable. They had been lazying around in a spot they made for a good thirty minutes when they realized that there was heaps of fish swimming around in the lakes murky waters.
Remembering times where they'd go fishing at the nearby lake to their house back in the Valley of Thorns, Y/N turned into their dragon form and jumped in. While the water was murky, their dragon eyesight and special ability of a protective layer over their eyes allowed them to see. It didn't take long for them to catch up to a school of fish, rather big ones at that. They quickly snapped their large jaw around the fish and made their way back to the surface for air and to drop off the catch.
And, now that the fish were certainly dead, Y/N could eat as much as they wanted. While a dozen fish of this size is a lot in theory, dragons have large stomachs and this wouldn't be enough to fill Y/N's stomach in dragon form. So, they shifted back to human form, where their stomach would be much smaller.
Taking the nearest fish into their hands, Y/N allowed their teeth to sharpen and claws to lengthen. Their claws dug through the scales of the fish and kept in place. In one chomp, around half of the fish was torn off the skeleton and Y/N was happily eating it.
The meat was chewy but not to tough, the fish didn't move so it wasn't a chore to eat, and while blood did spill and drip down Y/N's mouth and covered the few scales that rested on their chin, it didn't bother them and they continued to eat away.
"Y/N!!!!" a voice shrilled not far away. The shock caused Y/N to choke on the food in their mouth. They dropped the remaining fish and pounded a hand against their chest to try and knock the food down their esophagus. When they finally managed that, they felt a hand rest on their back and try to assist them.
When Y/N turned to face the person who interrupted their late lunch, they were shocked to find all seven prefects staring at them like they just tried to jump off a cliff, well, except Malleus, he looked chill about this.
"What the hell are you all doing over here? And why did you shout like that, Vil?" Vil was the one with his hand on their back and now that Y/N thinks about it, only he had to power to make such a shrill with his voice.
"What do you mean why?!" Vil shouted. "You were just trying to eat raw fish!! Are you crazy?" He looked both genuinely concerned and like a mother scolding her stupid child. Is there something wrong with eating raw fish? Apparently so, if the other prefects faces were anything to go by.
Riddle's face was scrunched up in mild disgust, Idia was trying to hide his overwhelming concern behind his hands, Kalim crouched in front of Y/N to try and make sure they weren't about to get sick, Azul was frantically cleaning his glasses like he couldn't believe what he was seeing, Leona was staring rather intensely at the blood Y/N knew was on their chin and Vil was fussing over them while trying to clean said blood. Only Malleus was calm, but when Y/N looked to him for answers, he put a finger to his lips in a shushed motion.
"Sooo, um, what's the problem?" Y/N asked while pushing Vil hand away from their face after he had mostly cleaned the blood.
"What's the problem?" Riddle echoed. "The problem is that if you eat raw fish it can lead you to get sick." his hands flew to his hips while he reprimanded the fae.
The next couple minuted were blur. Y/N didn't truly register what the prefects where doing until they thought about it again later. Vil, Riddle and Azul were scolding Y/N about the health risks, Kalim and Leona offered to cook the fish for them (more like get Jamil and Ruggie to do it) and Idia mumbled to himself about Y/N having 'main character plot armor'(Y/N just barely managed to hear him).
I've never gotten sick from eating raw fish. Is that a common thing for humans? How do they eat fish of they can't cook it then? A familiar tail wrapping around their own brought Y/N out of their thoughts.
Y/N found all the prefects sitting comfortably in Y/N's clearing by the lake, Malleus right next to them with his tail revealed and wrapped around their, all the prefects offering them the snacks they brought. Apparently they all simultaneously thought to bring snacks because they know how much Y/N likes to snack throughout the day.
Y/N just decided to settle in and enjoy the company around them, taking the offered snacks, but they did see as Malleus unraveled their tails and used his to push the fish Y/N caught behind their bodies, hiding the fish from the prefects sight. He leaned over to whisper in their ear while the others spoke to each other.
"Did the fish taste nice?" he asked. "Lilia never let me eat fish raw growing up. He always insisted on cooking it himself first." Y/N couldn't hold back the small giggled that managed to escape their throat.
"Yeah, just the perfect consistency to eat. But do humans really get sick if they eat raw fish?" they asked curiously. Malleus nodded his head and chuckled.
"Yes, humans have to cook their meats before they can eat them. Something in raw meat makes them sick. That's why they all freaked out when they saw what you were doing." Malleus explained.
Huh, strange, but I guess neither me nor Malleus are humans, so our bodies would respond differently.
A...slightly evil idea grew in Y/N's brain. They shifted closer to Malleus to make sure absolutely no one heard.
"Do you wanna...give them a little spook?" Y/N whispered playfully. Malleus raised his brow in question until he saw Y/N's hand reach behind the two and their claws dig into the flesh of one of the fish. Upon realizing their plan, he chuckled again and followed, reaching for a fish and digging his own claws into it.
On a synchronized mental count of three, both made their teeth grow and pulled a fish out, rushing to chomp down on it before someone found out what they were doing. The nearby prefects all let out very different sounds of horror when the two fae tore through the fish and started eating, blood falling down both their chins.
(I figured that Y/N and Malleus would be naturally immune to getting sick from raw meat because they're both dragons. I also assume that, because y/N grew up with a dragon family in the Valley of Thorns, away from humans for the most part, wouldn't know that eating raw meat makes humans sick. Also, Y/N and Malleus taking the chance to torture the poor prefects? Yes!!)

Sorry I met post this last night the rest of chapters will be on Ao3 but here's the completed chapter 1 hope guys forgive me about this I haven't really wrote fanfic for anyone other myself for while which was mostly self satisfaction fics I had in brief spurts of inspiration I had so understand this might be a bit oocish for now and hopefully it gets better and in this au is more about the how turtles and friend react with dc April and jason are just tools that and if happen to write a good love story along the way is good to.
The Red Hood ,The Red Head, The Big Bats, And The Big Green Turtles.
They miss being normal

Things about this au this all started when the Turtles where 13 and April was 16 she’s been with the Turtles for 5 years after her father dies in this au she only has 3 human friends in this au Irma who doesn’t know anything about the Turtles. Casey Jones who left for college and hopefully to go pro in hockey also he going for a physical education degree. An Karai who is currently in Japan trying to take over the foot clan their from shredder.

Jason in this au is friends with all outlaws and Rose he’s been back in Gotham since he was 17 and a crime lord. He’s been and is on good terms with Bruce for most part they can be in same room and have pleasant conversation as long as the joker not brought up. He doesn’t like Ra’s for a few reasons a lot because of Tim although don’t tell him that and he feels used by Taila

Jason has no idea why he’s fighting alien robots with almost 6ft tall turtles, or why the girl he started dating a month ago is also fighting said alien robots but he wasn’t really going to question it. He was fighting alien robots makes a lot of things easier if you don’t question them wait are those fucking ninjas and why did the turtle in red say their name like it’s a bad thing. Jason was really rethinking coming to New York to go drinking by himself was a bad idea maybe if he at least brought Roy he wouldn’t be in this mess.

1 month ago, and 2 weeks after Jason’s 21 birthday

Jason was getting sick of always having someone tag along every time he went drinking, for his 21st birthday wasn’t the problem, but the 4 times he tried after that though. The first time doing it solo Dick showed up not 10 seconds after his first shot the next tine he did it was in star city and Roy showed up before even his first shot. The third time it had to be a joke because why did Rose fucking Wilson show up at the bar he was drinking at in central city she normally never even visit central city. The fourth time he knew it was joke because he went to the most sewer rat bar in Gotham and for fuck sake why was Bruce their wearing a fucking fake mustache. Jason wasn’t really annoyed at not drinking alone if he actually wanted to do that he would just stay home and buy a few beers with Bruce’s credit card but it was the fact that he kept running into people he new he just wanted to get drunk and make a few mistakes but no now somebody he new was their and he can’t go embarrassing himself in front of them he had reputation to up hold. So that’s why he’s in New York he knows almost no hero’s who even touch New York so he thought no problems.
Jason was a few drinks in when he first saw her it looked like the first time she ever been in bar by herself and Jason thought why would she choose such a warn down bar like this. Jason took a shot for confidence and approached her thinking the most he could do is keep her company.

“Hello their beautiful looking kind of lonely mind if I join.” Jason say with his buzzed confidence
“Hmph ha ha ha are you serious my ex had better pick up lines.” the red headed girl says
“Sorry I never been the kind of guy to try pick up a girl this way.” Jason says with a slightly bruised pride
“Oh so how you do it mister aren’t you looking lonely miss.” Her blue eyes smiled behind her glass
“honestly most of the time we just start dating or they fall for bad boy charm” Jason with a cocky smile
“Sorry dated one bad boy don’t know if I need another” her red hair drops a bit but she says with a cheer in her voice
Jason doesn’t know actually why he tried flirting with her Jason knew it wasn’t good to get involved with a civilian Isabel taught him that he missed the flight attendant. But maybe it was the alcohol In his system, or it was the fact he wanted to ignore the hero stuff that’s also probably why he wanted to drink  without anyone he new he just wanted a night where he’s okay to be somebody other than Jason Todd the red hood, the son of Batman in somebody’s eye just Jason.

“I never introduced myself I’m Jason I’m not just a bad boy I also happen to read pride and prejudice.” Jason says in half cocky smile with another swig of his drink
“Okay mister Jason tell  me your favorite quote and I’ll tell you my name” Her smile softens
“I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun.” “I know the original quote is about falling in love but it’s like I lived my life by it”  Jason says trying to hide the emotions he feels when he says it
“My names April so you where telling the truth about reading it” April say with a reassuring smile
Jason collects himself for a moment he’s kinda surprised how far he’s come along in this conversation. Jason really was only Jason right now no baggage to unravel yet and he’s okay with that right now it only him, April, his slowly blurring vision, and the hope maybe he could get a date out of this.
“So miss April tell me something other than your name please”. Jason say with a half smile
“Well currently I’m trying to be a journalist but to get the last 5 credits of my degree I need to intern under another journalist for a year.” April says with a slight annoyed frown on her face
“so what’s the problem can’t find respectable enough journalist or something else” Jason says trying to offer a chance to vent
“It’s not that it’s just any intern ship I apply for needs me full time and my home life just doesn’t allow that right now” April says with happier expression
Jason wants to call in a favor from Clark or Lois so bad right know he really could solve this girls problems with a phone call. But Jason was taught by Bruce, Ra’s, Dick, and Talia you can’t solve all the problems even if two them he would stab and not regret it and Bruce and Dick have been off his shit list for a good minute. But all of them where right he can’t just solve her problem for no reason but Jason wanted to do he makes a compromise.
“Okay that’s problem I could possibly help with” Jason says with cockiest smile yet
“Oh how so” April says with curiosity
“So a family friend is a journalist I could put in a word for and give you a chance at something buuut with it would be uup to you to convince them to agree to whatever youuu propose” Jason say with seriousness but with slurring
“Are you serious why would you do that for me” April says questionably
“Well I could ask you for a date as compensation but instead here’s what in going to do I give them a word if they give you a chance you go on date with me as celebration if they don’t drop my number we never talk again” Jason says with a smile
“Well mister Jason you got a deal and if don’t get I might stillll give you a chaaaasnccce for at least not being a creeeep” April tries to say a little flirty
Jason grabs a napkin and calls the waiter over to closes his tab and ask to borrow a pen and writes his number down
“call me in the morning I’ll set up an interview” Jason say as gets and walks over to April
Jason kisses the back of April hand and says as looks into her eyes once more ”Did you admire me for my impertinence?”
April laughs “yeah I did.”
Jason offers to pay for April’s tab as well but she’s says it’s okay and as Jason leaves he wonders if he’s doing the smart thing involving April in his life.

April was tired, The Turtles where getting on her nerves a little yeah they where her little brothers in her eyes but still April missed Casey Johns. Although they dated for awhile and lived together and also one maybe 5 good humans who actually new about the turtles. But then Casey Jones afford a full ride scholarship and a almost guaranteed spot on the hockey team for some big school in North Dakota. Both April and him knew this was only chance out of this life and chance to full fill his dream of going pro.

April didn’t blame him but she could still be mad dammit then he comes back for your 21 birthday a week ago and their it is the spark. But then he leaves again now April here drinking in a bar she never been to because she only been 21 for a week and she had pass up on another internship. Also this the first time she’s been in a bar by herself and honestly it probably wasn’t a smart idea.

When Jason first approached her she felt like he was similar to Casey but she was wrong he was a little awkward and had already a few to many drinks in his system. But without much he Offered to help with internship, he let her rant although he was bit to drunk he answered all her questions honestly. April actually wanted to give it a shot although she could see how it could look like a rebound. She hopes the turtles won’t give her hard time about this.

After she left she knew how to get home and it wasn’t by car she wished it was sometimes she walked be behind the bar and found the manhole picked up and went down. She had a normal apartment but that was only for mail and throwing away of dirty money they took from shredder or the purple dragon’s and honestly she wished they just had over to the police but nope. Officially April’s a college student who works for nights at TCRI Donnie faked it for her who make a pretty penny their all though that’s just so she could have the fake address most money goes for food and other essentials for the lair.

Getting to lair is never easy since it technically apart of section of abandoned sewer. But April was taught by master splinter even drunk she navigate theses sewers and make all the jumps needed. When she finally gets close she knows because it always has a hint pizza coming from it.

Ralph was only one up it appeared she could hear Splinter snoring so she new he was asleep so it was safe to assume they other where as well. Although Donnie could be working in his lab but she didn’t hear anything so not likely and Leo normally doesn’t stay up on slow nights. Ralph was probably awake ether waiting for her return or was playing the pinball machine again.

Ralph in a rough voice While not looking away from pinball machine ”So your back form the bar April”

“Whooos said I went to the bar “ April tries to lie

Ralph says with a bit of worry “April I can smell booze from here, and I see your stumbling I don’t even know how you made it back without getting hurt. You also just slurred you words together I might not be a detective even I can see your drunk”

Ralph takes a breath looks her up and down “ I know why you went to bar and probably not the best for this conversation but April I get it your lonely and all other humans who know about us are old, evil, or we can’t meet often. And it doesn’t help you can’t bring yourself to live normal life”

April went silent maybe it was alcohol or it was Ralph being right on mark. Unlike Casey who joined this as like a helping hand, April was kind of forced into this and feels she owes the Turtles so much. April knows she doesn’t she helped them as much as they helped her. They become her family when none of hers where left she can’t abandon them Casey still had a sister, and a mom he didn’t need a family the only reason he stayed as long as he did was for her. An as long she was their sister she wasn’t abandoning them.

“Can we talk about this in morning when I’m not drunk” April use as excuse to leave the conversation

“Fine, but know this I know full well your capable of having a full on ass complex conversation. Even when drunk splinter taught us all how to maintain cognitive thinking even under the worst hallucinogens being a bit drunk is same as fully lucid to you” Ralph says with a tone that says this isn’t over yet

“Ok just let me sleep it off and Ralph your right” April says with defeat

Ralph says “About what”

April open her rooms door ”probably everything”

Ive been writting this one for a while.
!Dont know if i will keep writting on this universe
Wrote this one while listening to a portuguese song, (dont ask please), link below
!Im not english, so im sorry for any spelling mistake!
«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»
You know, she is probably still mad at me- you said to Mapi and Ingrid while making your way to the dressing room- If i tell her she won't probably talk to me ever again.
Cmon she knows you y/n! She has to understand that there is something more important going on. You have to tell her or she is going to break up with you. You can't hide it anymore. You have been so stressed, she is going to notice even more- Ingrid answered you.
You “have a kid”. Not you, but your ex. Your ex was pregnant 1 YEAR AND A HALF AGO! Now you have a kid with 9 months . Before you both broke up, almost 2 years ago, you both were trying to have a baby but it never worked, at least you thought that. Turns out you were wrong! She was pregnant all this damn time, had a kid and didn't tell you anything till last night.
Last week after your away easy win 6-0 against Valencia she, and your baby, were in the public. She asked you to talk with her, which was clearly strange. Then she told you that the kid that was sleeping like a little angel was yours. She also told you all of a story but you just did not pay any attention to her still in shock looking at the sleepy kid in the grey pram. She told you that didn't want the baby anymore and wanted to give the kid up for adoption and wanted to inform you about it. You were arguing with her and ended up saying that you would stay with the sleepy baby. She was a bit shocked but agreed and told you you have a couple of weeks till you have to go get the baby or the baby was going to be adopted. You just agreed and said that will keep in touch.
Ona saw you both talking and, of course didnt like it, mainly cause of the love story you and your ex had. She was really jealous and didnt talked to you until you were both at home. Where you both fought because  she was jealous of your ex. She clearly made some movies on her head but you didnt want to keep arguing with her, it was a long day and you were so tired, so you just slept on the couch so you could get your head cleared.
Things got a bit better but you didn't tell her, not yet. Only Mapi and Ingrid know about it, they are your best friends and you needed to talk to someone so you talked to them. They were clearly in shock when you told them that but decided to help you. That's what they are trying to do now.
“Now let's go to practice so you can clear your mind a bit, vale”?- Mapi sayed while squeezing your cheek
Practice was fine but you weren't really present there, which made your teammates worried
“You need to tell her” Mapi said in the locker room. Mapi was right. You needed to tell her.
After a ride home that looked like an eternity, you were both at home.
You were both watching some trash tv when she breaked the weird silence.
“Hey, what's going on? You´ve been a bit strange since you talked with your ex” Ona said with a worried look. “I have something to tell you, bebé, I just don't know how to tell you” You said while the brunette looked with an even more worried look “I-I have a baby. I didn't knew it, my ex told me after the game against Valencia, that's what we were talking about. She wanted to give the baby up for adoption, but I just couldn't tell her to do it, when I looked at that little baby sleeping in such an innocent cute way. I didn't knew what to do or say to you, i'm so so sorry…” you gasped and took your eyes full of tears out of the  floor to look at Ona who looked at you in shocked “You have a-a Kid?” she repeated while you nodded “And the kid is going to live with us” you nodded again. A minute of silence was made by both of you. Both of your hearts pumping fast
“I think I can handle that '' she smacked your arm, with a soft small smile on oour face, joking at you who were in  tears by now.
She looked a bit unsure because of her smile being so small, but you just hugged her in a really sad but sweet hug.
“ Hey, hey, stop crying, okay you whiny? I'm here, I'm gonna help you through this, okay mi amor?I love you!” She was still making fun of you but she was as scared as you. It was her way to defend herself, being sarcastic and funny but you loved it even if it makes never be sure if she is scared or not.
“I love you too Oni, thanks for being here…” You managed to say while tears were rolling down your face and starting to get Ona´s eyes.
