I don't think you were being overdramatic or complaining too much, people shouldn't have been rude in the comments, clicking X is the easiest thing in the world and if a person doesn't have anything nice to say, then they should say nothing

If those sort of comments continue, have you considered limiting comments to signed-in users? I think it would help ward them off

I have considered that, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. I've also noticed that a lot of questionable/rude comments do come from signed-in accounts, not just guest ones.

My new strategy has been immediately deleting the comments and/or muting the account in question. Trying to reason with people has kind of been burning me out emotionally.

Sometimes I feel like I can either be a writer or a moderator, and not both at the same time. I need to work on that.

so on the subject of the "Crowley is secretly Revaan/Laverne/Levin/please Twst give us his name" theory, I think my feelings are best summed up as "I don't really buy it, but it's funny". like, in all seriousness, I'm not opposed to it; I have enjoyed the writing in Twst so far and I'm willing to trust that whatever happens will, you know, make sense and not be terrible. but I'm just not really convinced by the current evidence! maybe that'll change once we learn more, we'll see!

with that said, may I propose a few alternate theories about the possible Crowley/Revaan connection:

I think the problem to me is that people who are mainly into the fandom side of star wars don't get that Maul is not the loud, dramatic monologuing villain he seems like around Obi-Wan. he is only "overconfident" in battle. every time he takes over a place or organization he has someone else be the public leader while he rules behind the scenes. he's nearly impossible to track down. he doesn't want to be the center of attention. he doesn't like when people pay attention to him. unless he wants to kill them

you barely get a chance to roll onto your back before soonyoung's already climbing onto the bed and somewhat on top of you and your blankets, and it's only seconds later that he crashes. it's far from the first time this has happened (soonyoung is clingy and cuddly, especially when he's sleepy), but he manages to knock the wind out of you nonetheless. he rests his head on your chest, and you wiggle an arm out to curl around him as best as you can in your semi-trapped position.

"just go back to sleep," he murmurs. "everything's fine."

you stroke his hair, thumb dipping down to graze his cheek at one point. "soonie--"

"i mean it," he says, eyes peering up in the low light to see yours. "i'm fine. just need to nap." his hand finds yours, and he wraps your arm around him as he snuggles in. he plants a kiss against your chest before resting his head against it again, eyes fluttering shut. "you can rest a little longer, too."

you settle back down after a moment, arms wrapped around soonyoung as you shut your eyes again. sometimes you swear this tiger is a teddy bear, but regardless of which he is, he's yours.

Maybe it is because I've been traveling a lot this year and dealing with visa shenanigans (nothing serious, don't worry), but every so often I think about how the modern world restricts ease of movement.

For example, one of the reasons people find The Return of Martin Guerre to be a fascinating book is because of how much that story couldn't happen now. Early modern people really could just pick up and start life over in another country just because they wanted to. Sure, technology limited how far you could go. But, it was possible.

Now I have to think long and hard about visas and citizenship and how long I've been in any particular place and report all of that to the government. And they can figure that out with the technology in my passport anyway, even if I didn't tell them.

There is much that I don't envy about the early modern world, or even the 19th century (which is my bread and butter), but they really don't make émigré life like they used to.

It's working on 'sleep is a body part' rules. If Dipper lost a finger in one life, he'd still be born with a full set of ten next time around! Same goes for sleep - he'll get it back in his next life.

I seriously do not think the prison-sex scene between Caitlyn and Vi was meant to come off as this climatic loving conclusion for these two amazing character. It could've been but it wasn't.

That scene goes to show how Vi's relationship with Caitlyn will be her new prison, the next relationship defines too much of her sense of self. I don't understand how that scene gets interpreted otherwise besides people already having heavy investment in the CaitVi-Ending as a happy couple.
