Johnny was born August 11th, 1984.

The year for some of the best cult classics, "Purple Rain" and "Ghostbusters". It was also the year that the funniest, clumsiest, most goofball of a person, and my favorite Uncle was born.

Whether it was with his constant "Pee-Wee Herman impressions" (a person that I didn't have the heart to tell him I was to young to know) or his parodying of famous song lyrics like Selena Quintanilla's "Late at night I clean my room". He never failed to put a smile on my face.

Lover of all things Dallas Cowboys and Hot Cheetos. Youngest of six children, the baby of the family, and the first to leave us far too soon.

On Octorber 11th 2022, at 7:07am he left his family and this world a raving mess and a far colder place at his abrupt passing.

A loving son, husband, father, and brother. We'll miss our little goofball.

Can I say something that might possibly be a 'hot take'?

I really don't like the rise of the whole 'He would not fucking say that' meme (and a lot of its variations). I know it's probably a joke (I'm too autistic to tell how serious people are with it lol.), and I can understand being annoyed when someone writes a character OOC, but OOC-ness is not really that big of a deal. Don't like, don't read, you know

I feel like it's also going to cause a lot of paranoia in fanwork creators, and I don't like that. And I should know, it's caused some paranoia in me (even though I've always been of the opinion that OOC-ness doesn't matter, in fact I celebrate it, just let people have fun. Despite all this, the meme still affects me and makes me worry)

I feel like the only time that OOC-ness can be a problem is when an indivisual/a fandom has a fanon that they like and they don't let anyone disagree with or write differently then that fanon. But I feel like that's not even an issue with OOC-ness, it's an issue with people (usually BNFs) being jerks and trying to get other people to conform to what they want

I don't know, maybe this whole thing is just a communal joke and I'm worrying over nothing. I'm not trying to ruin anyone's fun, have fun with your memes and all that, I just wanted to vent

I just wanted to reassure people about the stress around moral superiority around autism, cos it seemed like some people were feeling genuinely bad

the only propaganda that was submitted in the OP for that individual was literally the word autism so i think ppl prolly felt like they were playing into a joke that op made?

like, obvi the submission for the other person was more passionate and included more details - and this is out of your hands as the person who's taking submissions, putting them in a randomizer and doing hard work compiling, tracking and posting everything - but the contrast between the two becomes funny

referring to this individual as a funky autistic man is a pretty common meme in the autism and new wave communities (and the considerable ven diagram overlap therein), and it's likely the submission was made by an autistic person - but at the same time part of what makes that individual attractive is the way he's so unapologetically himself, and the way that manifests is in how he dances, moves, talks and sings - in a way that people call weird but in a way that a lot of autistic people have done in the privacy of our own spaces - even been shamed for if we do it publically. some of the ways he sings is really reminiscent of a lot of vocal stimming for a lot of folks, for example, and his more jittery movements are very relatable so the autism is both a bit of a meme, but also a way that we feel seen - and that individual being (almost certainly) autistic and mainsteam people knowing about it and valuing him and finding him attractive and talented is a source of pride/hope in a lot of ways. There's many musicians, especially in alternate scenes like postpunk/new wave who seem pretty autistic to a practiced eye, but this individual has actually discussed the way he relates to that experience. i understand how, without that context, one could be genuinely worried that people believed that if you didn't vote for him you're abelist - but i really think that it's more of a lack of communication/understanding about how this is joked about in the relevant community, if that makes sense like, no-ones genuinally tracking down who voted for what and taking u to task for it. it's fundamentally a contest about who's hotter, and for some people this particular individual being [likely] autistic is relevant and makes him hotter - in the same way one might find an individual hotter if you enjoy or relate to their music, even if the person they're versed up against is objectively more attractive (if attraction can even be measured objectively, free of social practices/norms!) - and the fact that the only piece of propaganda was the word autism means that if you don't vote for him it must be because you hate the only thing that was mentioned about him is funny because it's so ott, but also cathartic for autistic people to joke about because so many of us have experienced hatred due to having autism. it's nice for that to be something funny and relevant in a real but also absurdist sort of way its very liberating, honestly, for an autistic person to be considered hot (being so often infantilised), so its this sense of pride in it too i guess - it can be okay to move in the world in a way that doesnt hurt and isnt tiring and brings you joy, and not only okay and normal but even desirable i hope this makes sense, i just wanted to reassure people that no-ones actually making a moral judgement, it is a meme but there's also something serious there too and it just seems like a joke that's not translating between communities i appreciate all the work that you've put into this tourney!!!! it's been very fun and i'm excited to keep on voting!

Why put it on Patreon? It’s not fair for the other readers that didn’t do anything. The ones that keep sending the ask are probably the same young people and just trolling knowing that it gets under your skin. Especially since it’s a Jungkook fic. What is your favourite thing you created?

I think it's actually one of the zukka things I wrote: came in first (and I'm the last one leaving) about a marriage pact because as much as I loved writing some of the AUs (like the pushing bluesey and the terror genie au), this one was just so fun and I loved writing it, and while amnesia!roy was also fun, that one dipped into serious at times and this one was just a fun comedic romp. So! yeah! That!

Which work are you proudest of?

it's got a lot to do with having to finish what I start which is a Declan + Ronan canon divergent AU. I'm proud that I finished it because this was legit buried in my 'give up' pile and I was convinced to unearth it, and it got a mild plot, and I finished it. So yay me.

Is there anything you are proud of that you achieved this year?

I got a new job within seven weeks of being laid off. That one was HUGE for me, because it felt like eternity. I'm past probation now and I'm stupid proud of that, because I got to show myself that I am great and ppl will recognize that.

Did you explore anything new this year? (A new way to be creative, a trope you didn’t write before, or an idea you hadn’t thought of earlier, etc.)

I mean, applying for work for the first time in four years was definitely new. Coping with applicant tracking systems? Very new. I also did a full event planning for a physical event (I'd only done virtual before) and explored a couple new countries/places (Costa Rica, Bath).

Oh! And speaking of travel, I got back to my blog when I was laid off and while it's not like it's ever going to be super popular, I love writing my little articles and posting my pictures to revisit the things I've done.

Which work gave you the most difficulty?

Honestly, something that isn't published yet, which is an Old Guard/Outlander/Time Traveller's Wife mashup. I've had the idea forever and was plugging away at it all year, but it hasn't progressed the way I want and even though I have 20k written, it just feels paltry.

What was your biggest creative challenge this year?

Writing during the layoff was really rough. I had too much time on my hands and it was hard to get creative, because I felt like I had to be doing something productive.

Which work brought you the most joy?

Still cluck cluck, motherf- because Adam and Declan playing sick!chicken is something I am still v proud of.

Which of your works do you think people should check out?

Honestly? I'm cool with any of them being read. I was extremely happy with the reception of all my stuff, even the smaller ones.

Do you have creative plans for next year? Is there anything exciting you’re currently working on?

Always! There's 8 WIPs I want to finish, I want to continue work on my blog, and hey, maybe one day I'll write my novel instead of mentally fancasting it (Sam Reid as one of the main mentor roles has been consuming my thoughts)

Dragon Ball Z for its cultural impact on the world to this very day as the most recognized anime in existance

And Avatar for being a childrens show that showed for the first time that american animators could od what anime could have and tackle mature themes even for a kids show?

JoJos is something of that nature that is hard to explain, the story is great but its not deep or complex, there is no hidden philosophy or thematic exploration of any ideals or anything (At least not all around)

But because of how much of a culture shock JoJos has shown and the style of the show that LITERALLY IS ITS OWN STYLE that no one else can replicate, JoJos succeeds in becoming an iconic legend in its own right by being SPECIAL

Its just a special kind of anime, you can't rank it as a normal anime, there is something deep within the machinations of what makes JoJos "JoJos" that makes it so incredible

Its different from say watching Monster, and trying to unravel the mysteries and feeling like you figured out something deep and meaningful

With JoJos its the same minus the complex moral question, its more of understanding, what is it that makes the show so good?

Its a lot more interesting to figure that out and in turn I think you would appreciate it a lot more if you viewed it under that lens instead of comparing it to animes you like. Because if you do, you will never understand or come to appreciate JoJos.

JoJos is truly its own special kind of show separate from all other animes. There is nothing like JoJos, and I don't think any show can replicate what JoJos succeeded in doing"

I’ve read somewhere in one of your answer-posts today (I think it was the interview with a vampire question), that you’re not completely uninterested in the possibility of bisexual August :3. As someone who has been on the bi!August ship since season 1 (and as someone who has thought the ship might have set its sail already) I screamed a bit 🥸 so I would love to know if you have any headcanons and ideas about the realisation, exploration and the how‘s and when’s of it all. (maybe also with who he has these experiences) (it can be nsfw too)

This ask made me so happy, mainly because @bluedalahorse and I have a long standing agreement about August being a 2 on the Kinsey scale (aka not fully straight). It usually takes the form of one of us talking about something August did in canon and the other person going “🗣️ Kinsey! 👏🏻2!👏🏻” whether or not it makes a ton of sense and then we collapse into giggles. This is somewhere between a joke, headcanon, and serious interpretation for us I think, so it’s fun to find someone else on the bi August train.

Ok in terms of my thoughts about it here are some possible headcanons/interpretations:

1. I think it’s interesting to imagine that August, along with Nils, was one of the boys who got semi outed at the initiation. I think he would have been in the closet even to himself until then (being queer would definitely not fit into the aristocratic worldview August was raised in), and he would probably try to repress any revelation the initiation prompted in him afterwards. But canonically it’s clear that August and Nils were both really affected by the initiation, and that could be an interesting way to explain why.

2. I am personally in favor of Nils/August for this reason! I know Vincent/August is semi popular on AO3, but if Hillerska era August is gonna furtively hook up with any of the Forest Hill boys in fic, I think Nils makes much more sense, since he is already canonically queer and they have the initiation connection. I also really like the idea of August and Nils getting together in the years after Hillerska. Not in a serious romantic way, but in a “I’m having a lot of confusing feelings about missing Hillerska, maybe we should have sex about it?” way. 3. I think it’s SO easy to read August’s mean-spirited fascination with Simon as sublimated attraction. I mean look at those weird forehead kisses! I gotta shout out @all-things-sigust here, a blog that is usually Sargust themed (which I also love) but switched to Sigust recently and has made some very funny posts/memes about August/Simon.

4. I would also be interested to read a more serious coming out arc for August in a post-canon fic. I could see it being really hard for August to come to terms with his own queerness after what he put Wilhelm and Simon through (and it would be interesting for him to realize that maybe posting the video was motivated by internalized homophobia). How would he feel about basically copying Wilhelm’s journey? How would he handle being queer and in the royal family? Would it prompt him to leave the line of succession like Wilhelm? It’s interesting to think about.

Those are my ideas! I fully support anyone who wants to explore more unconventional pairings in fic or send August on a journey of self discovery he didn’t get to go on in the show. We have a completed canon now and the joy of that is getting to play with it. And I of course will always be in favor of Kinsey 2 August Horn 😉

it happens within a year prior to what the game actually shows and happens infrequently at first, and while I’m not entirely settled on the exact events of it just yet (but boy do I think about it often since post-5.0), it’s more to do with the timing and mindset that she’s in when she’s branching from merely adventuring to seeking purpose, and becoming more driven by a sense of justice and desire to aid others, which jogs the bit of connection to her past soul, and segues into hydaelyn able to reach through to her (and finally the right shard in their little time loop) and awaken it.

4. do they have a canon mount or minion? what's its name(s)?

mounts: sol, her company chocobo (but he’s been with her all along in her canon); valor, her black chocobo that haurchefant gifted her; midgardsormr, if he counts, though she calls/called on him rarely; and her ironworks magitek bike.

minions: page 63, taken from the gubal library; the korpokkur that she plucked from saint mocianne’s (and if I ever get her the mount, I may consider it the grown version of it); midgardsormr the tiny version; and the shoebill familiar, who she brought back with her across the rift to the source.

and technically it’s neither of these but her carbuncle is named helios, something soul-resonated down to her from azem (and similarly connected to eos and selene), but she’s not aware of that and only now suspects it after learning of the ancients.

6. how did they deal with the massacre on the waking sands?

she took it very, very hard - anger and guilt in equal measure. absolute anguish, having to carry the bodies and deliver the messages, and panic over uncertainty on whether minfilia or the other scions were still alive. blamed herself for not being there to protect any of them. it’s a pivotal moment where she grows more withdrawn and serious, or at least far less bubbly and plucky as she was at the start, doubling down on the idea that she needs to be strong for others and not let something like that happen again.

Whether it was with his constant "Pee-Wee Herman impressions" (a person that I didn't have the heart to tell him I was to young to know) or his parodying of famous song lyrics like Selena Quintanilla's "Late at night I clean my room". He never failed to put a smile on my face.

Lover of all things Dallas Cowboys and Hot Cheetos. Youngest of six children, the baby of the family, and the first to leave us far too soon.

On Octorber 11th 2022, at 7:07am he left his family and this world a raving mess and a far colder place at his abrupt passing.

it is! a Henry Stickmin au! taking place in our Limoliverse setting, which is the catch-all name for.. several stories we haven't made any content of except character designs and incoherent tumblr posts. um. hm. WELL the part that matters is that everybody is aliens!

it's a very loose adaption of the whole series, except with the twist being that henry is jumping between routes willy-nilly and potentially even creating brand new ones as he goes thanks to breaking things in unexpected ways. you know how it is with spaghetti. also there's a lot of background worldbuilding that we are very bad at actually implementing

(also it has an askblog! @stickmolus is in a weird limbo state on account of the exhaustion and my difficulty to keep up an ongoing interactive project, but its fun to read and i still think about picking it back up. i want to so bad. i am my own worst enemy)

Henry is.. something! nobody knows what his species is, including himself. he just straight up spawned one day and immediately began doing crime. this immediately got the attention of the CCC, especially once he started pulling out every power and item out of his back pocket and launching between timelines at random.

Charles is a pilot for the Limolian military and is certified in both air and space travel! good for him. he's a limolus, which is kinda the "mascot species" for the setting seeing as its. named after them. they've got your basic run-of-the-mill psychic powers tropes and are heavily inspired by Giegue from the Mother series! i could talk about them for a very long time. charles was stationed on earth for a while and as a result is considered kinda Weird because he picked up a lot of earth culture stuff. he's fluent in both english and lilio so he's henry's translator, although his translation is pretty loose and skips details and basically he is not reliable no matter how hard he tries. i love him

ELLIE oh my god this drawing doesnt have her tattoos. what the hell. ellie is ALSO a limolus! they can be colours besides red its just that ellie and charles are both red. anyway. she's very good at telekinesis because canon ellie already uses the force, so that's her solution to most problems. her relationship with henry is a bit rockier from the get-go due to a communication barrier on Several Levels, but theyre able to get along! ..in some routes. oops.

uhhhh she's actually got some pretty intense backstory that hasnt come up yet because Ellie Has Not Appeared On The Blog At All for the love of god why did i pick the order i did its gonna be FOREVER until we see ellie AUGH. but she got locked up in the wall for some Pretty Serious Crimes (like uh. treason?) and even in timelines where she joins up with charles there's some friction because of that.

Hi yeah thank you for asking!!! It's a big thing do I hope you don't mind it'll be a bit of a long answer so I’m just stuffing the ramble under a cut!!

tl;dr I wanted more about it posted but I’m currently at the end of a burn-out so I needed a break, but I had the AU on my mind almost the entire time. Small summary on some context for stuff so far, why it’s called Bucket AU, and some plans and also a mention of some other project.

Originally I was going to draw/write more and just let it be found out for itself, but art's been rough lately and Splatoon's an easy distraction. (and a lot less emotionally taxing... listen I love Omori for it but it's a really heavy game to constantly have on mind!) Also, I've been trying to take care of myself more so that means going outside now, haha;; I went on a vacation, even, wow...

So I guess I'll just say the meat of it, Bucket AU is a post good end au where Omori appears and lives with Sunny in the real world. It's actually meant to be a more serious AU that's sometimes funny, sometimes cheesy, sometimes morbid.

The main part of it centers around Sunny visiting Faraway a few months after moving to an apartment. Everyone is back to greet Sunny and meet Omori, and Stuff happens to make this possible. I think I got a good plotline going, it sure will be a useful tool for later.

As for the reason it's named Bucket AU, well, it's full name is "Emotional Support Bucket Omori" because one of my friends likened him to the Bucket from Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe. If you know you know.

Its back-end is all memes and funnies simply because it's more fun for me (and my friends), I'm not really a serious person so effectively a bunch of it's just going to be light-hearted shenanigans with a character that Isn't Quite Human and kinda lacks a moral compass. I will not hold back when stuff does gets serious, however.

In other words, most of its content is exploring Omori and what he would be if taken out of Sunny's head, with a few twists. Omori just wants to help :)

Everything about it so far is under the "Bucket AU" tag on this blog, and everything story is planned to be accessed through the AO3 fic, even comics. (but they have to take place in the story, so side comics are probably just staying on here.)

So when's more content? Whenever I can finish what I have, honestly it's a huge project that I've already made a bunch of stuff for, but finishing it is incredibly hard with me being... still pretty new to full-on writing. Drafts, drafts, upon drafts just for a few thousand words. Maybe I'll even reach the ten-thousands...

So if any part does finish it will be bigger that what I already have out, longer chapters, more comics, y'know. It’s a skill I’m trying to get better at, it's still something I'm doing in my free time between other projects. In fact I still have a Celeste blog to finish a story for. (and for those of you here from that, I've already written it, I just need to draw it! Asks will be toned down for more "intermission" posts.)

Hey guys, this'll probably be a long post, and maybe emotional. I'd like to talk about my childhood experience, the reason for a lot of my depression. So as of right now, I have mental illnesses, in which I'd like to talk about. Let's start from the beginning of my trauma. I was probably very young, but I remember when I was just a little dumb annoying toddler, just trying to explain a situation with my dad. Honestly my dad is probably the biggest problem. I probably got in trouble over an accident, instead of calmly talking out the situation and/or giving a gentle warning, my dad would scream at me, never let me talk, never gave me an accident pass. I remember one moment when my dad grabbed my by the neck and I was slammed against a drawer. If I remember correctly...my dad got so angry at me trying to make him stop yelling at me that he slammed me, poor child me, into a drawer while temporarily choking me. Almost every day throughout my childhood, I got yelled at, screamed at, ignored, hurt, etc, to the point that to this day I still can't forgive or forget what my parents have said. Of course there was the discipline of time-out and the other...punishment... but it was always worse for me, because I was often just "beat for punishment" rather than "for discipline" and a lot of the time, I did nothing wrong. Being the youngest child, its said that they are the favorite and get more love than the oldest and middle, stereotypically. I'm here to say that its completely false. My sister is 2 years older than me and she is treated so perfectly, she never gets in trouble or has to do any chores, still to this day she is so spoiled. She doesn't even go to real school, she does this online crap in which she mutes the teacher and watches Tv! I'm stuck getting blamed, getting in trouble, crying alone unable to confess how I feel. I keep my emotions bottled up, since I was little. I wasn't even allowed to talk in some conversations. I was completely ignored sometimes, neglected and just thought of as a house keeper! I had to do so many chores to the point that I felt like a restless child in the Industrial era of child labor. And some kids get paid, or at least a thank you, I got nothing. Never got anything. To this day I'm still waiting to hear my parents say they are proud of me. I do everything for my family. Chores, emotional support, favors, complements, everything! But apparently when I don't immediately do what they say in 0.5 seconds, its always; "You never listen, you're always on that phone" Its crazy to think about the amount of times I have been insulted by my parents, or have been called lazy/useless. It hurts, I do so much to make them happy or proud, all I get is; "You half-assed" "You never do anything" "your best isn't good enough" "stop being a little shit!" Mind you, my dad swore at me everyday since I was a little child! Just a kid! That is ridiculous, and I'm always told "Oh, where did you learn that word? That's a mean word" Are you serious?! My parents never NEVER seemed to care about what I had to say, or any of my friends. One time I was talking to my friend about something my friend Viola said, and he so kindly replied with; "I don't give a damn what your little friend has to say, I really don't." Worst part about this growing depression, I can't talk it out with my family. The last time I tried to tell my mom how I felt, she immediately got mad and said; "You always talk about how sad and depressed you are, oh, and how hard you have it! Are you kidding me!? Look around, look at all you have!" I had to stop her by saying that I was kidding and she just said; "Well stop telling these jokes, they hurt my feelings" ARE YOU SERIOUS!? I make HER sad... I can't talk about it, they worsen my depression and I'm too scared to say a word to them, they don't even notice the millions of times I have ran away in tears? They neglect my feelings and only make things worse! I'm going to do a pt. 2 on this, this is taking a pretty long while.

Lol I barely started writing fanfiction 2 years ago 😅 so I guess I don't feel qualified to be called legendary! But hey, thank you so much for the compliment!

But on a more serious note, you said you wanted advice for writing in the Fandom. Even though I'm still relatively new to this, I will try my best to give you the advice I would have liked to receive when I started writing and engaging with the Fandom community.

1. Write for yourself: Seriously. Don't write the majority of your stuff so you can get kudos and likes. Write what makes you happy, and invest time in writing stories you enjoy and love. Because at the end of the day social media and statistics are fickle and don't often accurately reflect the impact your writing can have on the world at large.

I learned this the hard way. It was an uncomfortable lesson, but suffice to say that these days I am definitely more focused on the stories that inspire me everyday, the ones that live rent free in my head and are just begging to be put down on paper, or typed out on my keyboard. And I am loads happier because of that choice.

2. You do not have to answer every prompt or ask that finds its way into your inbox. It's OK to leave some things on the backburner and focus on your priorities. Fanfiction is a hobby and most people aren’t getting paid for doing it. (Almost no one I know or have heard of) I personally try to answer all my asks, even if only to say I'm not interested in writing the story the reader is requesting. But I've also just flat out deleted some rude or offensive asks before. I do not obligate myself to respond to rude anons or their questions.

3. It's OK to take breaks from writing. For your mental health, for your well being, and also when you just don't have the time or energy to churn out a chapter every weekend. Again, fanfiction is a free gift, not an obligation. Don't get sucked into the pressure to perform or feel guilty if real life circumstances make it hard or impossible to write.

4. Don't delete your old/first fics. The better you get at writing the more you will be tempted to do this, but trust me, there will be people who love your early stuff, grammar errors and all. Don't deny them the privilege of reading your first story. Even if it is tropey or whatever. Let it stand as a testament to how much you've grown and how much you love this universe. The Fandom will love you for your authenticity and realness.

5. Take chances. Write that dark or slightly weird fic. Write that PWP smut fic. Publish your spotify inspiration playlist. Send your fave author a chat or inbox question. Make connections, laugh at the weirdness or mundane aspects of your hyperfixations. Write 10 stories about the one bed trope. Write 100 enemies to lovers fics. Just do whatever makes you happy and allows you to be creative. Make friends and reach out to your fellow writers. Literally 99% of people I've met in the Fandom are freaking awesome and I do not regret any of the connections I've made in the 2 years since I joined.

6. Just have fun. Real life is full of so much negativity and hardships, and fanfiction should be about enjoying the journey of the characters and the story. All of this is literally just for fun. Publishing on Ao3 or FFN or here on Tumblr, is simply for enjoyment, its not a job or a career. So enjoy it! ���� Make memes and gifs and chapter covers and mood boards. Write drabbles and weird snippets of dialogue. Let it all out, and say what you want to say. Somewhere out there, there is a reader who will fall in love with your words if you just have the courage to set them free.
