Do we all agree that Neil's first professional team is the team where Jean is?

When Jean told the coach that they needed a more powerful forward, the team thought he was talking about Neil Josten, because... you know... Everyone knows that Jean and Neil met in France when they were little and they are the best friends in the world. That's why Neil went to the Nest. By none other than his best friend Jean Moreau.

No one thought he was talking about his other best friend and life partner, Jeremy Knox! (with whom Jean has a secret relationship). NO. They only thought about Neil.

The team is so excited when they announce to Jean that he will be able to work with his best friend... Even better! They have arranged everything so that they don't have to worry about housing and they will be able to share a flat (since they know that Jean likes to live with other people).

When Josten arrives at his new team's court and Jean approaches, they share words in French.

"Je vais t'étrangler dans ton sommeil jusqu'à ce que tu chies dans tes intestins, espèce de larve vomissante" Jean tells him.

French is a beautiful language and the team is very happy that the two friends are together to speak it!

Since chaos reign has released here is most of the things I want to see.

#10 Hanzo to finally be playable or atleast have a few scenes: since we have cyax and sektor have made an appearance I kind of now expect we will see kid hanzo. Even if he is playable I expect to see Hanzo atleast make a few scenes.

#9 Jade atleast get an appearance: Jade has been mentioned in mk-1 intros and I actually want to see more mention or atleast an appearance of Jade with kitana. I miss their friendship!!

#8 Cyrax joining the good guys: like the previous games it won't be a surprise once Cyrax learns why kuai left the lin kuei. It will be expected of cyrax to leave sektor and join the Shirai Ryu in hopes to redeem herself.

#7 Harumi, suchin: I hope that we atleast see appearances or them fighting for their loved once together and even a showcase of their skills. NRS have already jobbered suchin and harumi a lot. I hope they will get justice.

#6 one of the brothers is going to die and it can be either kuai liang or it can be bi-han: let's face it Bi-ham and kuai liangs relationship has always ended badly because of Fucking NRS!! So it's either they make one of them die. If kuai liang dies it will make way for hanzo to be Scorpion and gets on the path of revenge to kill bi-han. If bi-han dies it will not be at the hands of kuai but by someone else. Kuai liang will go on revenge to kill the person who killed bi-han.

#5 the order of light: I really want to see the order of light and more of sareena and ashrah. Hell I want to see more of sareena helping them out in the war against titan havik.

#4 outworld under mileenas rule: I am hoping to see the outworld under milleenas rule. I can see it would be a world where everyone is being treated equally including the tarkatans and the saurians being treated equally .

#3 Kuairumi: want to see more of this relationship in the future. I want to see how much of a badass warrior harumi is and her influence on kuai. I also want to see how kuai influenced harumi as well both are good for each other.

#2 Mileena might turn evil: I have a feeling NRS might try to make mileena evil and strain her relationship from kitana after all NRS hates good sibling relationships or any relationship in general.

This is why I want Jeremy to be the writer. He knows what the fans want and he gives.

#1 Shinnok is definitely going to come back:

We have heard Many names in intros during mk-1 but there is one name that has not been mentioned at all. The name is Shinnok. Don't come at me saying Catrion wasn't also mentioned. Liu Kang clarified that the elder gods still existed but unlike Raiden , Liu Kang doesn't consult with them. You always know what NRS does. If a hero kills a threat like they killed off titan Shang taung to make room for titan havik. So they always kill a villain to leave room for a bigger villain. So what has shinnok been doing all this time in the netherrealm. Because netherrealm has been mentioned by ashrah and instead of Shinnok it was Quan chi. What if Shinnok is like a secret boss behind Quan chi pulling the strings of everyone and everything this whole time and will make an appearance sooner or later in the mk-1 universe. He is waiting for the perfect time to strike back and get his revenge on the elder gods and titan Liu Kang in order for the hour glass to be his and mend time to his favour.

SubScorp Spiderverse AU when???👀👀👀

Though I always thought Kuai reminds me more of Miles and Hanzo Gwen.

Kuai is the one who defies tradition and tries to honour his fallen hero's mantle and legacy while he also "does his own thing!"

Meanwhile, Gwen and Hanzo trauma bond... sorry, but it's true! Fighting to honour their fallen loved ones while trying their very best to live with their survivals guilt (even though everybody knows they are not to blame)

Harumi was done dirty from day one! And OK, she can be the dead wife, but at least make her an actual character!

Heck, like I said, we at least knew Gwen Stacy before she died! She had a personality, hobbies, and passions! She was someone, and that's why her death HURT SO BAD! We felt Gwen's death not only because it hurt Peter but because it hurt US!

We can relate to Peter's pain because we knew the person he had just lost!

While Hanzo we feel his pain because his pain is LOUD! He feels so strongly and so intensely we have no choice but to be moved by him!

But if he wasn't that significantly loud, would we even feel it?

Honestly, when I thought of Scorpion!Harumi meeting Scorpion!Hanzo, it didn't even cross my mind to make them fall in love lol!

Come to think of it, when 616 Spider Man and Spider Gwen met, there was no romantic tension between them. They weren't romantically attracted to each other. They wanted to protect each other

And that's what I would expect of Hanzo and Harumi. To see them committed to keep each other safe!

I was thinking, wouldn't it be funny if Kuai ended up being friends with them in BOTH realities? We could keep the "Sub-Zero misunderstanding" in Harumi's reality and also Kuai Liang's peace offer! They would end up as friends or even in a Queerplatonic relationship!

Meanwhile, in our reality with Hanzo!Scorpion, he would fall slowly but intensely in love with Kuai. Obviously, that would make him feel a bit conflicted, so he asks Scorpion!Harumi for advice! (She tells him not to be an idiot and go for it!)

It would also be funny if she asked who's that special someone and when Hanzo says it's their mutual bestie, she would be THRILLED!

"Lisa" is low-key out of tune with her brothers name lol! But she would be quite an interesting addition to Harumi's reality! And maybe she parallels Kuai in some other way *wink* *wink*

Which would end up making Bi-Han the Bitter-in-Law, as he should always be! (Bitter-Brother-in-Law Bi-Han is my canon event lol!)

Okay, but everyone keeps saying "Poor Honzo", "He can't catch a break" and I'm sitting over here like "Poor Harumi". Because she gets killed mercilessly in every damn thing she's in. She could just be sitting there, existing, and the writers just go "Not today bitch". Who the hell did she piss off so much that they want her dead in every excruciating way possible. In Scorpion's invasion cutscene, they literally made the most cruel and sadistic ways to kill her. Like, when will it end? lol

Bridgewater fanart! (Who is surprised? /lh /j)

This fanart has been inspired by Lauren Shippen herself, from the # she put on the reblog she did of my Jeremy Bradshaw sleeping fanart “also: new headcanon I now have vipin started TAing for Jeremy when he was still in undergrad soJeremy also has one photo of the two of them at Vipin's graduation in his office”. So I had to draw it of course, I’m so thankful for Lauren’s support, feeling truly so honoured so this is the least I can do 🤧

This is to me, what Vipin asked to do to Jeremy, and so he did because he has always appreciated Vipin (a beginning of friendship there?? They both cherish that pic for sure and yes I plan on drawing Jeremy’s office, and yeah I only drew this to put it in a small frame in Jeremy’s office, that’s my dedication 😭🤌 I’m putting a read more for a further explanation of my headcanon and also the outfit (regalia, cords, medallions wise) because yeah there is a whole day of research behind this and also finger cramps because my Apple Pencil decided to slowly d word on me as I was trying to finish this fanart so I used my fingers jejdjd)

So: please know that I’m French, so it was very hard to find information about graduation ceremonies: we do not have that in France, so I’m sorry if something is off!

First of all, professors and whole faculty members must wear their regalia at graduation ceremonies hence Jeremy having his academic regalia. And it made me learn that the velvet colour on some parts of it + the hood colour differ depending on the field they had their phd in, Jeremy’s is white because to me he has his phd in history (at least from what I understood, as even in S1 EP01 he talks in his lecture room about getting credits in history) which counts in the “art, social and humanities” section because history counts as humanities which is white. (Which also explains why Vipin’s tassel on his cap is white because to me he also went in that field) Jeremy’s hat is a velvet tam with a gold tassel which is the formal hat for the doctorate level.

Then… come Vipin’s cords and medallions. I headcanon Vipin as a really high achieving student, I might be wrong though, but he is too great of a TA to not be. So as a disclaimer: all the information I gathered there come from things linked to the Bridgewater State University because I really wanted to be accurate as much as I possibly could (Yes I truly spent a day for that and I might have drunk one or two Monsters).

For the medallions: the one with the black neck ribbon is “the Diversity Champion medallion recognizes and honors those students who have worked tirelessly for the advancement of diversity and inclusion during their time at Bridgewater College.” I really see Vipin trying to really be actively trying to make it go for the best in clubs and such at BSU and the second one with the blue/green neck ribbon is “The Alpha Chi medallion symbolizes the honor and distinction of being a member of the national academic honor society.

The supporting neck ribbon is in the colors of Alpha Chi.”

Which brings us to the cords he has on his regalia: the green and blue cords represent Alpha Chi as well.

The gold cord represent his level of achievement it’s for “summa cum laude” (“meaning "with highest praise", typically awarded to graduates in the top 1%, 2%, or 5% of their class, depending on the institution.” Which is the highest distinction one can have when you get a diploma at uni in the US).

Then the red and blue cords “Graduates wearing blue and red cords with mixed tassels are members of the national history honor society, Phi Alpha Theta.” (Which for me also was a good idea as Vipin is truly going through so many documents linked to history for Jeremy, our guy is that interested into academic stuff)

Then for the purple rainbow scarf… it’s a real thing I’ve seen on graduating pictures from BSU!! And I gotta admit… I’m quite fond of the idea of Vipin being pan 🫣 (just my own hc always)

I’m sorry for the extra lengthy explanation but I feel like it was needed (maybe it is to flex my research /j) as I think it was really interesting in the development of the hcs around Vipin and even Jeremy!

And to me needless to say but Jeremy has been greatly moved that Vipin asked him to do a picture together where they throw the cap in the air because to Jeremy, Vipin could’ve done it with his fellow classmates. And Jeremy is fully aware of how much it was important for Vipin. (And maybe own little headcanon: I’m sure Jeremy doesn’t even have much pics from his own graduations)

I truly imagine that during the whole graduation ceremony Jeremy was feeling uncomfy in his academic faculty regalia because it’s way too formal (although it’s quite mandatory to wear it) so he is just 🧍🏻 standing being no thoughts head full of folklore only (he is of course very proud of his students nonetheless) therefore, Vipin asking him to do that picture must have been THE highlight he had during the ceremony (even counting all the ceremonies he ever had to attend to)

The RED Team was winding down from a long long day of fighting Blu. They got ambushed at approximately; 3:45 AM and haven’t been able to rest until now.

Scout grabbed a Bonk out of the fridge and sat down right next to Demoman and Spy. With a sigh, he cracks open his can and takes a long sip before speaking.

“Boy, I sure am glad that is over…” Scout said, a grumbling agreement soon came from everyone else. It was pretty rough.

“Next time–” Spy starts, “--we will be the ones to have the jump on them”

“ja, absolut,” Medic replied with a grin “I’ll help plan the ambush”

“Get Pauling on it too,” Engineer hummed as he took a sip of his coffee “and you know where to go if ya need machines”

“Of course. But we also need to give a stealth lesson too–” Spy starts to motion to Scout, Demo, and Soldier.

Scout glares at Spy “I don’t need a stealth lesson!!! I’m plenty stealthy!!” he said with a pout and a scoff in his voice. He’s offended that Spy would assume he’d blow their cover

Spy rolls his eyes “Even if that was true–” “Hey!!--” “--everyone needs a refresher”

Scout flaps his hand like it was a mouth to mock Spy as he spoke.

Heavy shook his head. “Are they going to fight again?”

“Ja looks like it” Medic responds

A soft clicking of pumps against the hard tile flooring got closer and closer to the kitchen. Miss Pauling quietly opened the door and cleared her throat loudly, gaining the attention of most of the mercenaries.

“Scout, you have a phone call.” Miss Pauling said with a neutral tone, She’s just as exhausted as the Mercs as she was technically ambushed too

“Is it my Ma?” Scout perked up, immediately forgetting about Spy.

“No its a Miss,, uhm,” She looks at her clipboard to remember the name, “Sachiko Mina–” Scout jumps out of his seat and sprints down the hall to the phone, “--moto, huh” Miss Pauling looks surprised, he only does that if his mother called.

Spy’s eyes went wide with shock and nervousness, and Miss Pauling noticed. She looked him sternly in the eyes before pivoting on her heel and walking back to her office. Pyro turns and stares at Spy… silently

Scout runs to the Phone and  picks it up “Sachi?”

“Oh Jer! It’s so good to hear your voice again! How’s that factory job treating you?”

“Oh, you know how it is, all work and no play.” Scout chuckles softly “Anyways Chi, what's up? You never call unless it’s important.”

“Well…” Sachi starts “I’ve lost more of my sight, it cost me my job…”

“Oh, Chi–”

“Ah ah,” she silences him. “I have an offer to be a mostly remote editor for this publishing company in New Mexico. It pays a lot and it will only be for a few years–”

“You should move to my town then! It’s smaller and a little bit conservative but I know you and Lil Robbie will be safe” Jeremy cuts her off “I’ll even pay for the first few months of rent–”

“Awh Jeremy, you’re so sweet. There's no need to pay my rent~ Your mother bought my house and is going to take care of it for the next few years.”

A little brown-blonde-haired girl looked up at her mom. Thinking for a moment, she huffs and tags at her mother's skirt gently. She wants a turn on the phone 

“Cool Cool… I’ll find a house for you though, if that’s alright”

“Oh please do, I have no clue where to… oh, hold on” Sachiko giggles and picks up her little girl. “Here Robin” She handed her the phone.

Robin held the very much adult-sized phone up to her ear with both of her hands and grins

“Jeremy! I lost my first tooth! It’s my front one” The little girl chirps happily over the phone

“Woah what?? Robbie, that's amazing! How’d you lose it?”

“I got hit with a baseball!!” She said so happily “You should have seen it! There was blood all over my yellow dress!!”

Sachiko shakes her head as her daughter laughs and giggles. Robin is, well she's a mini Jeremy, and that slightly worries Sachiko. She doesn’t want her daughter to be bullied and/or ostracized just because she plays differently from the other little girls. She knows how it feels and she doesn’t want her child to go through the same.

“Mommy Jeremy wants to talk to you again” Robin pouts at her mother.

“It’s about adult stuff, baby girl. Go to the kitchen and get and pick out an apple, I’ll peel it for you” Sachiko coos and sets her daughter down before putting the receiver back up to her ear.

“Hey, Chi, I don't wanna come off as nosey but, how are you able to still be an editor?”

“It’s just my peripheral vision that I’m losing, luckily I’m still able to see, walk around, cook, read, and type” Sachi explains with a gentle tone, she’s not sad about her condition, not anymore at least. She’s at peace with it.

“Chi, you can’t drive anymore, can you?”

“No I can’t,” She says somberly

“I’ll find a place that's close to a bus stop for you”

“Thank you…” Sachiko hummed “I have to get going, it’s Robin's snack time”

“Okay Chi. I’ll call you later. Bye”

Miss Pauling looked up from her papers, she was there for most of the conversation. She sighs and neatly stacks her papers before asking.

“So, Who is Miss Minamoto?” She asked inquisitively

“Oh, she’s a family friend back from Boston.” Scout starts to explain with a grin. “She and her daughter are going to be moving into the town near base soon so I can help out! When I can, of course!” He said, his grin growing prouder after he finished his sentence.

“Wow…” Pauling paused for a moment. “That's sweet Scout,” she said with a light smile.

“Nah, it's the least I can do for her. Plus her kid loves me to death, I’m like her pseudo big brother” He chuckled “I’d be a really good dad you know~” he cooed while propping himself on the wall like a cool guy

Miss Pauling sighs and grumbles, for once she thought they were having a nice conversation, of course Scout has to attempt to flirt, again.

“Scout”

“Yeah, Miss P?”

“Get out”

August 23rd, 1968 11:25 PM New Mexico

Miss Pauling yawned to herself as she walked throughout the base, making her nightly rounds and checking to see if the mercs were here for the night, but she felt a looming presence like someone was watching her, hunting her. Unnerved, she starts making her way to Spy’s smoking room, the feeling only getting worse as she gets closer to the door. It kept growing and growing until something touched her shoulder. Freaked out Miss Pauling turns around and goes in for a punch. Pyro silently grabs her wrist and stares at her in their soulless mask.

“Oh Pyro–” Pauling sighs out of relief when she sees them, “It’s just you,”

Pyro stares at her blankly as they let go of her wrist

“Uhm are you going to see Spy too?”

Pyro nodded silently and gave her a thumbs-up

“Why?”

Pyro stares before signing to her ‘The same reason you are”

Pauling pursed her lips into an O shape before nodding. They walked the rest of the way together. Pauling knocked on the door lightly before opening the heavy wooden door

“Spy, we need to have a chat,” Miss Pauling says, stepping onto the plush carpeting. Pyro walks in behind her, tracking muddy boots in on said plush carpeting.

Spy sighs to himself and puts his book down before turning to the two with a very disgruntled face. He glares at Pyro and looks down at the floor, he scoffs and looks back up to make eye contact with Miss Pauling

“What for?” he said with a scowl and a grumble in his voice. He’s tired of dealing with buffoons like Pyro, he just wants to relax.

“You looked quite shocked to hear the name Sachiko Minamoto. Explain.” Miss Pauling said with a stern tone. She crosses her arms against her chest and continues the stern eye contact that she holds with the Spy. She’s read the documents, she's on friendly terms with Spy, and she knows that Spy is Scout’s dad. To be truthful, everyone knows, even Scout knows. He’s in denial about it.

“Hm, even with them?” he asked motioning to Pyro

Pyro silently stares at Spy with their, cold, dead, mask.

“They already know.”

“I see.” He clears his throat. “I met Miss Minamoto while I was on an espionage mission in Japan, nothing more, nothing less. Are we done here? It seems I need to clean my carpet again.”

Pyro stomps on the ground slinging mud more places while also getting it even more into the carpet.

Miss Pauling stifles a small giggle before speaking again.

“Yes, that’s all we needed to know, goodnight Spy.” Miss Pauling said with a smile before leaving with Pyro.

“Bonsoir.”

Pyro wasn’t fully convinced that there's nothing more to Spy’s past with this “Miss Minamoto” character, but they’re pretty tired themselves so there’s not much more they can/want to do.

The heavy oak door closed loudly leaving Spy alone in his room. He sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose in annoyance

“Another piece of my past dares to haunt me yet again. I won’t let the guilt win. Not now, not never” He muttered to himself before going to clean the mud off of his carpet.

Warriors of Virtue is the kind of bewildering martial arts fantasy adventure you can only get when people become convinced of their own genius. Had it worked, this would’ve been a bridge Eastern and Western filmmaking. Instead, you’ve got a bunch of disjointed elements mashed together in a big-budget Dungeons & Dragons campaign brought to life.

Unable to join sports because of an injury to his leg, Ryan Jeffers (Mario Yedidia) struggles to fit in. While trying to impress a bully, he falls into a portal to another realm. In Tao, humans and anthropomorphic animals live together in harmony but the world is threatened by warlord Komodo (Angus Macfadyen) and his army. He's been draining the Lifesprings of Tao to stay young forever and now only one remains. To save the world, Ryan must reunite the five warriors of virtue: Lai, Warrior of Wood; Chi, Warrior of Fire; Tsun, Warrior of Earth; Yee, Warrior of Metal and Yun, the Warrior of Water.

You’ll know this movie is in trouble when you first see the titular warriors. They’re hideous anthropomorphic kangaroos. Something’s just… not right about their faces. It isn’t that the special effects are bad; it's their design that's disconcerting. Once you get over the initial shock, you’ll notice they're all missing something: personalities. All of these humanoid marsupials are interchangeable. The only way you can tell them apart is by their outfits, which conveniently remind you of what element they have mastered. Not that it really matters. There are a few brief moments where our heroes use their elemental skills, like a scene where Yee (who is mute and therefore easier to identify but also even more devoid of a personality than the rest) disables a metal death trap. Generally, however, this movie is not about showcasing Avatar: The Last Airbender-like moves where the environment becomes a weapon only these masters can wield.

Before we talk about Komodo, we must address what has driven the Warriors of Virtue apart. Are you ready? It’s Yun, who, in the middle of a battle… killed someone. You read that correctly. This world is at war. Komodo’s troops are slaughtering people wholesale but a single death has caused the defenders of justice to split. Yun and his brethren vowed never to take a life and breaking that promise means Tao's not worth fighting for anymore. Listen. There’s heroic, and then there’s just sanctimonious. People are dying and you’re not doing anything? give me a break.

The plot is so flat and generic this movie should be boring but it isn’t. Mostly, it’s the ill-conceived worldbuilding, hamfisted philosophies and the acting. Angus Macfadyen delivers a legendary performance as Komodo. He’s so hammy and over-the-top, it’s like he’s been emprisonned for a thousand years and his freedom now depends on his ability to act. Every single line is ridiculous and he manages to constantly up the ante. You wouldn’t think it’d be possible, but it is.

This movie is so silly it becomes unpredictable. You should see where Elysia (Marley Shelton) will end up but I didn’t and I bet you won’t either. Important details regularly come out of nowhere and I’m fairly certain it has to do with the appalling story as conceived by Ronald, Dennis, Christopher and Jeremy Law, physicians who created the characters (as kids I assume) and had no filmmaking experience before this enterprise. You can’t make this up.

Warriors of Virtue is the rare kind of movie that’s continuously “so bad it’s good”. It continuously surprises you with its ineptitude and the performances must be seen to be believed. If you want some laughs at someone else's expense, check it out. (November 6, 2020)

It's crazy just how good the animated movies are for Hanzo and Kuai to an extent (the extent being made since his modern take was only really in the 2nd movie while snow blind is more of an au but it is still really great)

Like they get that he's vengeful, he doesn't want to make peace he's here to avenge his entire being, but he still somewhat cared for the earthrealm group enough to not fight them, to tell him to hide and not die trying, and to even saving them all in Revenge.

And then in Battle of the Realms, UGH, so great. They know he lingers in the middle because he's not entirely altruistic, but he's good. He knows hes done awful things and would let Kuai finish him if it ultimately meant the saving of all realms. He is tired but unwilling to just lay down and croak.

And Kuai is like his usual self but with more spite towards Hanzo is so intense and interesting. It really makes him feel human.

Like sure the overall plots for both movies are a bit all over the place but SubScorp is so fucking good in both. Kinda like the actual game plots now that I think about it. Huh.

But god, the music, the voice acting, the way Hanzo is treated as a main character, hell THE main character in Revenge. I'm glad they actually did give him top billing cause hot take but Hanzo reaaally doesn't get as much screen time in games as much as people think. Extra skins and cover arts sure, but not a lot in game stories.

those movies are SO bad (I should know, Ive watched each more than 10 times) and Jeremy Adams is my mortal enemy but yeah as usual the ninja storyline is the most entertaining and compelling one.

The Shirai Ryu massacre in the first movie is literally the best part of it and then its all downhill from here and it makes you, the viewer, instantly sympathize with hanzo bc you want to root for this guy, hence making you buy him being a lot "nicer" and a LOT MORE reasonable than he usually is/should be this time around. Scorpion in Revenge IS OOC compared to his previous incarnations but its not necessarily a negative if the details of that aspect and incarnation of him are explored thouroughly, which they are not due to the lack of time and focus bc its a 1h20 minute long movie and lack of good writing and yknow, SUBTLETY, the mk:legends movies are corny as hell. Mandatory Dam "MK: Legends shouldve been an animated tv show à-la Invincible" Argument.

I do agree with you that in game, Scorpion does NOT get as much focus as people think he does, not a hot take at all in my book, but my own hot take is that hes also sidelined in Revenge, HIS OWN MOVIE, bc he has to share more than half his screentime with the entire tournament, like, introduction of liu kang, raiden, sonya, johnny, shang and the gang, the rules of the tournament... Quan chi gets focused on well enough as the antagonist, bc well, hes the main antagonist, but the third character thats CRUCIAL to his story, bi-han, the ACTUAL bi-han, is LAUGHINGLY underused. The actual bi-han has less than three lines. THE ACTUAL SCORPION AND SUB ZERO FIGHT BARELY LAST A MINUTE.

Also since I talked about quan chi. What the hell. His entire reason for doing All That to hanzo was so hanzo could be reborn as a wraith he could manipulate to infiltrate shang's island to get the key of shinnok back, AND HANZO DOESNT EVEN DO THAT, HE DOESNT EVEN DO HIS ONE JOB, and they NEVER show quan chi being upset about that??? What was the POINT OF ALL THAT THEN??? Quan chi goes to fucking... BRAG to hanzo's dying face, as hes chilling there impaled with bi-han, that he killed his family FOR NO REASON WHEN IT WOULDVE MADE SENSE THAT HE REVEALED EVERYTHING TO HANZO TO MAKE HIM MAD BC HES MAD HIMSELF THAT HANZO DIDNT BROUGHT HIM THE KEYKFJDURVF??? WHY.

One genuine interesting thing also is that Scorpion begins and finishes his entire story arc in a single movie, this being: happy life -> losing clan, wife and child to the lin kuei and sub zero -> dying -> coming back as a wraith for revenge and entering the mk tourney -> killing sub zero -> finding out quan chi orchestrated everything -> killing quan chi -> ??? unexplored area, and THAT is smth I wanna see, with his arc ended, scorpion really has the opportunity to mature as a character.

Which brings us to Battle Of The Realms and yeah, its interesting that scorpion (hanzo) and sub zero (completely) COMPLETETY switched personalities with each other. Surprise! Sub zero is ALSO OOC in legends: sub zero has always been the cool-headed voice of reason while scorpion is the impulsive one, here it's the opposite because scorpion has nothing else to do, nothing driving him other than a general goodness within him wanting him to not let the world get destroyed. Legends Scorpion is not and has never been in a grey morality area because every single one of his decisions have been good.

You fucking know I love the fire temple confrontation between scorpy and subz, how do you see that chin tilt and the way scorpion says "That's what makes you different... That's what makes you better." in THAT tone of voice and not go crazy. But if you think about it, Scorpion is PROJECTING LIKE CRAZY onto this lin kuei. The only thing kuai has done that couldve deserved this epiphany from hanzo was that he agreed to tag-team attack with him to stop the cyber lin kuei, and that was mere seconds ago, and then he tried to kill him. Again. If anything, Kuai is MORE revenge-driven in botr than Hanzo was in revenge. His clan is in shambles and his friends are getting turned into robots but no he see his brother's murderer and its on SIGHT, and we didnt even see him having a similar kill bill reaction as scorpion did in revenge when he saw bi-han. WE know Kuai is good because we have known the guy from his 30 years of history, but in mk:legends, hanzo took one hell of a gamble with this guy, which of course turned out to work in his favor. I also disagree that hanzo did awful things, the only thing that's adressed is the killing of bi-han and not only we know he has been tricked into doing it, but we 1) never saw kuai liang and bi-han interact at all to make us sympathize as to why kuai is so determined to avenge him and 2) we never fucking see anything of bi-han in the first place. Hanzo has virtually nothing to atone for and that he is willing to give his life to the guy whose brother he mistakenly murdered only if he promises to help save the world is yet another testament to how good he is compared to that same guy who tried to literally stab him in the back a few seconds earlier.

I WILL give botr one major W for being the only instance that gave us Kuai crying on screen, THIS was good, THIS is why the ninja storyline is the best thing out of these movies.

If you take the gay glasses off for a second, I'm pretty sure scorpion shoving sub zero out of the way when the temple of shinnok collapses is a call back to the original storyline of scorpion being sub zero's guardian, and its the only "save" between the two thats kinda. Just there because🏳️‍🌈. But still.

If you just ignore the rest, the Subscorp is so fucking quality in mk:legends. its genuinely one of its accidental saving point.

Btw dont let my rant fool you into thinking I hate those movies, I fucking love them so much. The timeline theyve built has incredible potential thats, as my favorite blue guy once said, wasted. And I love MY personal interpretations for them so much, but personal interpretations doesnt mean its actually textual, yknow? Long story short: those movies sucks so bad, I love them so much Im gonna rewatch them for the 20th time.

L'altra mattina ho scelto un mazzo tra i tanti della mia collezione, e da questo ho estratto a caso una carta, per avere un sentore delle energie che aleggiano nell'aria in questi giorni, e la carta estratta è questa bellissima rappresentazione della Ruota della Fortuna,  o meglio della Ruota degli Eventi.

Alla luce degli eventi macroscopici che si stanno verificando nella nostra società, mai carta poteva essere più rappresentativa del periodo storico contingente, una carta che parla di cambiamento, un cambiamento che, anche se molti di noi non se ne stanno accorgendo, stà avvenendo sotto i nostri occhi, e stà travolgendo i cardini del mondo così come lo conosciamo, una sorta di rovesciamento dei poli, come da tanti profetizzato, ma un rovesciamento non in senso fisico o geografico, bensì un rovesciamento figurato, per intendere ben altre cose, e scusate se potrò sembrare un po' criptico, ma chi ha orecchie per intendere ben intenderà ciò a cui mi riferisco, chi invece questo udito non ce l'ha, probabilmente non si renderà nemmeno conto di questo cambiamento epocale, e continuerà a vivere beato tra le mille paure imposte dalla bestia morente, perchè ormai la testa del Drago è caduta: gioite per la luce che verrà e abbandonate le paludi della paura, se continuate ad obbedire alle vostre paure, timorosi di perdere le vostre illusorie ricchezze, affogherete nel fango, prigionieri di un infermo che avete contribuito a costruire e mantenere. Questo è il bellissimo messaggio che leggo in questa magnifica carta.

Una piccola formichina, animale laborioso che nel silenzio, e senza rompere le scatole a nessuno, realizza il suo destino, la sua natura, naviga su quel che rimane di una foglia rinsecchita, che per quanto misera imbarcazione possa sembrare, gli permette di attraversare la palude senza affondare, e muoversi verso quei bellissimi fiori che sovrastano il cielo, sorgente di luce. In basso una collana di perle giace tra i sassi, simbolo di un'avidità e di una ricchezza illusoria che non porta alla luce, alla bellezza, ma trascina nella pozza, nel fango.

Il messaggio che leggo in questa carta è molto suggestivo e profondo: siate voi stessi, fidatevi delle leggi della Natura, esse vi salveranno e vi traghetteranno verso la bellezza e la luce, non rimpiangete le false richezze ed i falsi valori, non aggrappatevi ad essi, perchè sono "pesanti" e vi trascineranno sul fondo !  La luce della Verità arriva solo dalla Natura, e solo la Natura vi offre gli strumenti per salvarvi, sia sul piano fisico, che sul piano spirituale !

Nutritevi di Sole, di Luce e di Bellezza, operate secondo coscienza e secondo Natura,  ascoltatevi e non ascoltate, abbiate fiducia ed ottimismo, anche la cosa più umile, come una foglia secca, può salvarvi ! 

C'è tutto un mondo che cambia in questa carta, c'è un abbandono delle tenebre ed una vittoria della Luce, c'è una rivoluzione silenziosa che corrode dall'interno un sistema ormai marcescente !

We are experiencing a period of profound changes: be confident and fearless !

The other morning I chose a deck among the many of my collection, and from this I randomly extracted a card, to have a scent of the energies that hover in the air these days, and the extracted card is this beautiful representation of the wheel of luck, or rather of the wheel of events.

In light of the macroscopic events that are being occurred in our society, this card could never be more representative of the contingent historical period, a card that speaks of change, a change that, even if many of us are not realizing it, is taking place under the Our eyes, and is overwhelming the cornerstones of the world as we know it, a sort of reversal of the poles, as shown by so many, but a reversal not in a physical or geographical sense, but a figurative reversal, to meaning other things, and sorry If I can seem a little cryptic, but those who have ears to understand well will mean what I am referring to, who instead does not have this hearing, probably will not even realize this epochal change, and will continue to live blessed among the a thousand fears imposed by the dying beast, because by now the head of the dragon has fallen: rejoice in the light that will come and abandon the swamps of fear, if you continue to obey your P Aure, fearful of losing your illusory wealth, you will drown in the mud, prisoners of an infirm that you have helped to build and maintain. This is the beautiful message I read in this magnificent card.

A small ant, laborious animal that in silence, and without breaking the boxes to anyone, creates its destiny, its nature, navigates on what remains of a dry leaf, which as a miserable boat may seem, but allows it to cross the Marshes without sinking, and moving towards those beautiful flowers overlooking the sky, source of light. At the bottom a necklace of pearls lies between the stones, a symbol of an avidity and an illusory wealth that does not lead to light, to beauty, but drags into the swamp, in the mud.

The message I read in this card is very suggestive and profound: be yourself, trust the laws of nature, they will save you and will ferry you towards beauty and light; do not regret the false rechesis and false values, do not cling to them , because they are "heavy" and will drag you on the bottom ! The light of truth comes only from nature, and only nature offers you the tools to save you, both physically and on a spiritual level !

Feed yourself with sun, light and beauty, live according to conscience and according to nature, listen to your deep soul and not listen out, have confidence and optimism, even the most humble thing, like a dry leaf, can save you !

There is a whole world that changes in this card, there is an abandonment of darkness and a victory of light, there is a silent revolution that corrodes a now marked system from the inside !

Celebrate AMERI’KANA NYC Festival Sponsored By Arts For Everybody

Music isn't simply that tune that makes you move and groove. Music is a signpost to our cultural past, and a glimpse into our possible futures. If any art form points to the inherent diversity of our culture, it's music. 

What are the roots of country music? Early country music was often based on the hymns and field songs of Southern enslaved people, as well as the work of professional Black musicians. The blues, which originated from Black spirituals, plantation songs, and folk music, is considered the foundation for many genres, including country.

Where did the Beatles gain their inspiration? The Fab Four combined their love of Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, and Little Richard, with elements of skiffle and British music hall to form their early sound. On that note, last month, Arts for EveryBody launched a new podcast No Place Like Home narrated by award-winning spoken word, performer, writer and librettist, Marc Bamuthi Joseph. 

 No Place Like Home is the story of one of the largest public art campaigns in American History: Arts For Everybody. On July 27th, 2024, 18 communities across the country staged simultaneous performances, hoping to answer one big question: can art help heal our divided nation?

On January 10th, listeners can celebrate at the AMERI'KANA Music & Arts Festival, part of One Nation One Project's Arts For EveryBody campaign. 

  Sony Hall will host Celebrate AMERI’KANA NYC, a transformative evening-long festival showcasing the diverse and cross-pollinated nature of American music. Founded by the Latin Grammy-nominated band Making Movies, this traveling festival honors the vibrant intersections of culture, history, and sound that define the American musical experience.

“We started the AMERI’KANA project when we realized how many of our stories are left out of the traditional ‘American music’ narrative,” explains Enrique Chi, lead singer of Making Movies. “Our communities have been collaborating for hundreds of years, and this is an opportunity to celebrate that. This movement is a celebration of our shared musical lineage and a reminder, in this time of division, that music transcends all barriers and boundaries.”

The star-studded lineup for Celebrate AMERI’KANA NYC includes:

Rubén Albarrán – Frontman of Café Tacvba, activist, and multi-faceted musician known for his artistic eclecticism and support for diverse social causes.

Making Movies – Latin Grammy-nominated rock band rooted in the rich traditions of Panamá, blending diverse cultures into a unique and captivating sound.

Terrance Simien – Two-time Grammy Award-winning Louisiana Creole artist redefining Zydeco as a powerful Black American roots music.

The Sensational Barnes Brothers – Masters of gospel and soul, bridging the past and present.

John Forté – Grammy-nominated producer and songwriter famed for his work with The Fugees.

Max Gomez – Americana’s next voice, blending country blues with heartfelt songwriting.

Marcella Simien – Creole Zydeco torchbearer fusing Psychedelic Soul, Folk and Blues well known for her charismatic live performances and commanding vocals.

Binta – First-generation Senegalese and Gambian singer-songwriter blending Neo-soul with rich Senegalese melodies.

Special guests include:

La Lulu – Latin Grammy Award-winning violinist and cumbia innovator.

Jeremy Kittel – Grammy-nominated fiddler and composer with collaborations spanning from Zedd to Yo-Yo Ma.

Celebrate AMERI’KANA is more than a festival; it’s a movement. Through live performances and storytelling, the festival examines how artists from diverse backgrounds have shaped American music, highlighting the cultural tapestry that defines its past and present. The festival is the latest chapter in Making Movies’ mission to inspire and educate. In addition to their own acclaimed music, the band produces AMERI'KANA TV, a National Endowment for the Arts-funded documentary series highlighting the voices of the Black and Brown musicians who created and continue to carry the legacy of American music.

No Place like Home is a documentary podcast goes inside these communities, speaking with artists, leaders, and public health experts to learn how they are using art to transform society, with surprising results. 

The first episode has been released and dives into Arts for EveryBody in Phillips County, Arkansas - check it out HERE or wherever you listen to podcasts. New episodes will drop weekly on Wednesdays.
