Y’all Buddie shippers need to take a HARD look in the mirror because the nonsense you’re spewing has crossed every line. Saying Tommy or Ravi should’ve died instead of Bobby isn’t just unhinged fan nonsense—it’s straight-up homophobic and racist garbage.

Wishing death on Tommy, a canonically gay character, because he’s “in the way” of your precious Buddie ship? That’s not passion for your ship; that’s homophobia dressed up in fandom drama. You’re not slick. You’re reducing a queer character to a plot obstacle and cheering for his demise so your straight-passing fantasy can thrive. Newsflash: queer characters deserve to exist without being collateral damage for your fanfic dreams. And targeting Ravi, a Indian-American character, with the same vitriol because he might've been originally up for the chopping block? That’s racist as hell. You’re not just picking “random” characters to hate—you’re zeroing in on marginalized ones and acting like their lives are disposable. Check yourselves.

The BuckTommy hate has gone from annoying to outright toxic. You’re not “protecting Buck” or whatever you tell yourselves—you’re obsessing over a ship to the point of dehumanizing anyone who doesn’t fit your narrative. Tommy’s not perfect, but he’s a solid guy who makes Buck happy, and that’s canon. Your headcanons don’t get to rewrite that or justify your hateful takes. And dragging Ravi into this mess just because he’s not your fave? Pathetic.

This isn’t about “defending your ship” anymore. It’s about you Buddie stans letting your obsession turn you into the kind of people who’d rather see queer and POC characters dead than let go of a fantasy. You’re not just hurting the fandom—you’re exposing your biases and making it clear you only care about representation when it suits your agenda. Do better. Touch grass. I have a lot of time to kill and noticed that the bridgella shippers deserve some attention, so it's time for my train travelling brain splurge (it will be angsty, I'm warning you now). :)

Now, I'm presenting an 80's Celebrity/Performer AU!

Now, I imagine both of the girls got into performing in very different ways.

Bridget came from a very privileged background where she was able to be put in various music/acting/dance lessons at a young age. I'd imagine she started her trajectory into stardom very young, starting with modelling and acting before shifting into music (though I'd assume she'd still have a cover/runway girl reputation which she revisits here and there). Bridget would have started off as a 'girl next door' archetype, but once settling into her music career, she would soon settle into an untouchable, bubbly pop princess persona. An IT girl with a stage name of "The Queen of Hearts."

For Ella, I imagine one of the only belongings that she has from her late mother is a guitar, so she's always made a small effort to learn, though that effort increased exponentially once her dad passed and she was left to live with her step family. On her eighteenth birthday, she's not legally required to be her step-mothers 'problem' anymore, so with her few belongings and her treasured guitar, Ella begins her journey to be a performer. She works her way up to the top with a ferocious determination, going from busking on the streets during day and waiting tables at night to meet ends meet, to performing as Auradon’s break out 'riot grrrl' by doing random gigs and opening acts. And when she finally gets a label to fund her first proper album, she's asked if she'd like to take on a stage name. Then is when she decides to title herself as 'Cinderella' for a final middle finger to the family that rejected her (by making a horrid nickname given to her turn into a marker of her success).

Both Ella and Bridget carry on their own careers aware of each others existence. But they only properly meet once their music labels want them to collaborate on a few songs for their latest albums they're working on.

And since Ella's manager believes she should reach out to a bigger audience and create a more positive public image for herself (after a few disaster interviews), Ella agrees. And when it comes to Bridget's PR team, they're trying to make her shake off her untouchable status, given that it has some negative repercussions (as there's a decent chunk of people out there with the view that Bridget is 'too fake' and that she 'probably let all that fame get to her head'). So Bridget ends up agreeing to the collaboration.

They meet at a recording studio, and their meeting isn't exactly ideal. Bridget is her typical self: bright, bubbly, friendly. But Ella doesn't know that's what Bridget is actually like. She thinks she's just meeting Bridget's celebrity persona that won't be shaken off, and she hates it. So after a few minutes of (attempted) polite conversation, it gets awkward and silent between the two. The vibe doesn't seem to get better when they're trying to write new lyrics and compose together, Bridget and Ella mix as well as oil and water does, and everyone in the studio can see it. So after a failure of a music making month, both their managers put a pause on their albums in order to run a PR plan.

Ella and Bridget are tasked with going completely public with their 'friendship' prior to announcing their collaboration. And hopefully, if the prayers of their managers are answered, they'll finally warm up to each other (which is necessity for future interviews).

They begin with a magazine cover together which creates a whole wave of surprise with both their fanbases (who are as opposite as opposites can be), and from there it's hangouts across A-list places (photographed/filmed by strategically placed paparazzi). And before they know it, Ella and Bridget have made headlines as Auradon's most surprisingly iconic best friends.

Though what's more surprising is that after all this, they are still awkward with each other. Sure, they may be a bit more comfortable, but the improvement is inadequate to what was expected of them. But oh well, what are their managers supposed to do about it? They're going to have to shrug it off and carry on making their albums with forced smiles.

But then, when they're finally left alone in a recording studio is when their bond flourishes. Because, wow, Ella is finally making sense of the fact that the Bridget she met on her first day at the studio was actually the real Bridget. And Bridget is starting to appreciate the complexity of Ella's character, and putting together the puzzle pieces to find out Ella is a really genuine person. A specific type of person that is far and few in Auradon's celebrity scene. The type of person she wants as a friend.

So, they finally ditch the picture perfect scenes they were set up to be in and spend their time together after recording just getting to know each other. As Bridget and Ella instead of The Queen of Hearts and Cinderella. They spend lazy nights in watching bad films, they go out to underground parties, they find a favourite ice cream parlour which they go to every Friday.

They're finally friends. And once their respective albums release, featuring each other (in more songs that was ever expected), they're soaring from the success of the careers.

The next few years are spent in the middle of the spot light. Ella has a much wider fanbase as she appears much more approachable (with the help of Bridget practising interviews with her) and Bridget remains a number one star, helped by the fact people have started to properly relate to her now that she (with the encouragement of Ella) is happy to show some of her more imperfect sides that adds some edge to her pop princess persona.

It's glitz and glam. It's red carpet looks. It's having their posters plastered in every corner. It's living together to set the ideal standard of how life can get if you stick to your closest friends and work hard.

...It's secrets and unspoken truths.

Because after all this time, they're best friends. Of course they are. But throughout the years, there are moments which could indicate different.

They don't talk about it. They really shouldn't. It's always the wrong place. The wrong time. What they have is inherently 'wrong'.

But... Too much is too much, and they have to talk about it. Because Bridget can't stand the multiple occasion's when they're in the safety of their own home, with their lips just about brushing, only for Ella to cast a look of doubt and pull away, pretending nothing happened. Because Ella feels like her heart is being ripped out whenever Bridget is back with her on-again-off-again PR boyfriend, only for Bridget to tearfully confess that nothing feels right when she's with him compared to when she's with Ella (and Ella has to grit her teeth every time, because Bridget's 'boyfriend' is the bassist to a wildly popular punk group, 'Uliana's Crew', and she knows that in the publics eyes, she can't match the debonair charm of James Hook. Even if she can be a better partner to Bridget in so many ways).

Neither of them can stomach another night after award shows, dressed to the nines and drunk on disgustingly expensive champagne, trading touches that are too intimate for 'just friends' and whispering in each others ears in the corner of a room. They can no longer ignore the curious looks they get from the people closest to them when they both release album after album, the songs within so obviously being able to be seen as romantic so long as the listener knows the right context the lyrics are referring to. So long as the listener starts swapping 'he' to 'she' in their head during the song.

The confrontation is full of tears and anguish. Both of them know what they feel but neither fully express it.

Bridget, whilst being privileged in many aspects, comes from background where anything out of the norm is unacceptable (she knows, but never says, that the reason she was supported in her career by her family is due to the fact that they thought it was a passing interest. Something that would leave, but once she took off into stardom, it was too late to take things back). She's been put on a pedestal all her life, and what could other's think (her fans, who she lives and breathes and performs for) if she finally speaks up on the fact that she's never been interested in boys. Even thinking of the fact makes her nauseous, because after so long listening to others, she also feels its wrong, even though it feels the exact opposite.

It kills her inside to know that Auradon would be raving about how much they adore the match between a conventional pop princess and a jaded/edgy artist, so long as said artist was a boy.

And when it comes to Ella. She has built her entire livelihood off of her music. It's the one thing that's kept her going in her roughest moments - she has no clue what meaning she'd find in life if she lost it. Because whilst her fans are more accepting (hell, a large percentage are part of the LGBTQ+ community themselves), she knows that other people won't be. That they'd pull her limb from limb and strip her of her career which she gave everything in her for, as an act for revenge for 'spoiling' the 'perfect' image of Bridget they had in their narrow-minded heads. She hates it. She hates The Queen of Hearts. And she loves Bridget.

In conclusion: Bridget would be okay with being in love with Ella if Ella wasn't a girl, and Ella would be okay with being in love with a girl, if the girl wasn't Bridget.

So, they agree to be friends. Carry on as if the talk never happened. They know their limits with each other (even if they are constantly breaking them). And yes, there are slip ups.

Said slip ups act as the highlight of their lives. Said slip ups will cause their downfall: because on a singular occasion, a picture is taken (it's contents: Ella and Bridget sneaking out of a rehearsal studio late at night, hands interlocked, hair messy, lipstick smudged).

The picture goes viral. Passed around. Talked about. Theorised. Concluded on.

Both Bridget and Ella are sent into a panic. What do they do? It's the early stages of their situation being revealed (and they're already seeing hateful responses), and both silently loathe it. The cherry on top? It's not even based in fact, because neither have allowed themselves to even have each other in anyway that they want. Their appearances that night were purely from a hectic rehearsal.

Their PR teams jump to salvage what they can. And when Ella meets Bridget's fearful eyes, they both know it's the end of them. In the following months, they move into their own separate homes and their contact is fleeting. Eventually, the rumours and hate turn into whispers.

But they will never recover.

They'll never be alone in the same room together, ever again.

In the same year of this scandal, a large announcement of Bridget Hearts and James Hook's engagement will ring through all media outlets. The perfect pair: a sweet pop princess (that has been cherished by the kingdoms since her debut into performance as a child) and Auradon's resident, suave 'bad boy' ready to settle down. They're picture perfect. Ella feels sick (so does Bridget), and she makes sure to cross out a firm rejection on her invite to the wedding.

And Ella forces herself to move on. She finds a calm yet fun actor, Christopher Charming. She decides to try love him. She can love him. She does love him in her own way. It's not as bright and golden as her love is was for Bridget, but it's quiet and safe. And he understands her and keeps all her secrets, and that's all she can ever ask for.

Years go on and they live finding other joys to go off of. Life is hard but not impossible without each other, and they try to be happy for one another. Bridget sends a bouquet of flowers to congratulate Ella's marriage to Charming (as a way to say she's happy for her, because Bridget really really wants Ella happy... And as a way to apologise for the fact she can't be there to attend the ceremony). Ella sends presents for Bridget's final show (Bridget's much too tired to perform for another tour, and if she gave any more of herself to The Queen of Hearts, all she'd be left with is bones) where Bridget announces she will be starting 'Wonderland Records', a music label aiming to help artists from unfortunate backgrounds succeed. Bridget gives a supportive smile from across the room when Ella announces she'll be retiring at her final albums award ceremony.

They go on with life, and after both have stepped away from the spot light, they don't expect to ever encounter one another properly anymore.

And that holds true... Until you put their daughters into the scene. Because despite their warnings, both Red and Chloe have followed in their footsteps to become Auradon's newest stars.

With new trends coming around and an increasing demand to see artists perform everywhere, Red and Chloe often encounter each other, especially at music festivals. And they despise each other (even if they're a fan of each others music). But you know what people say. There's a thin line between love and hate (and that history tends to repeat itself).

The next thing Ella and Bridget know, they're witnessing their daughters slowly fall in love. Unashamedly. In front of the whole world to see.

And this time, it ends well.

And when attending a final festival for the summer to support their daughters, they watch as Red plays a song dedicated to Chloe. They watch as a lovesick Chloe hops onto stage, and kisses a flustered Red in front of thousands of people and camera's. They hear people cheer in support.

Because a queer love story is just as natural as any other. It was a long, long wait for society to be like this. But it finally is. And it is perfect for their daughters, who were born at the right time for their type of love which they show off so loudly and proudly.

Ella and Bridget meet each others eyes from the wings of the stage, waiting for their daughters to meet them on either side. And they give a friendly smile. Because whilst they couldn't give each other what they wanted, they're more than happy to give the world to their daughters.

They'll continue to be friendly to each other, and eventually become casual friends, but never anything more. Not in this lifetime.

The entitlement some people feel over Luke Newton´s career is baffling to me. Like, people out here saying "Oh, he has not milked the success of Bridgerton enough, his time has passed" or "He played his cards wrong" is just... wrong. Like, I get it, compared to Nicola, in the past few months, she has been much more active on social media than him, but can you actually blame him? Yall saw one picture where he was clearly uncomfortable, running away from the paparazzi and destroyed him online. Then he went on a vacation after months of press (and God knows which auditions, jobs or fittings on the side) and made it seem like he was committing a crime. Then he posts about a trip to Spain and some of you go call the hotel to check who he was with. If I were him, I would not post anything online ever again, because there is no winning, is there? He commented on one of Nicola´s post and she had to delete the awful comments people left. All because of what? A picture taken out of context with a girl who is not Nicola. News flash, people are allowed to have other people in their lives, romantically or otherwise. And to the people thinking that he did it to disentangle himself from Nicola, what drugs are you on? Like, he was holding so tight to her the night before, so excited for the premiere of Part 2, always praising her and looking at her with love in his eyes, even when no cameras were on them. I bet if people had not haunted him on social media he would have posted bts, or shared funny edits but the toxic fandom made it impossible for him to do so in real time. Because, apparently, to some people, if he had posted about Nicola while not being officially together with her, that is leading them astray. Umm, what?

And then you have the idea that he is not working. Nicola literally signed off to do Magic Faraway Tree before Part Two and has a small role in it, and the rest of her work has been in fashion. He went to fashion shows as well. Both of them are signed to Season 4 of Bridgerton and from what we have heard, they have quite a big part in it. If it took them 8 months to do their season, I can, at least, see them being there for maybe 4 or 5 months of shooting. That is work. Going to rehearsals and fittings is work. They literally get paid for that. It is astounding to me that Nicola has no future projects lined up yet, same as him, but everyone is on his ass for the same thing he has been doing for years, work in private. Now, I am a shipper, I do believe they will be together eventually, but I genuinely do not understand how that has anything to do with people trashing him for his upcoming projects. He may not have found the project he wants to do or is waiting to share info. Also, I bet you Nic or him would have shared a picture of going back to set already if some fans weren´t analysing pixels on screens.

I do feel like there is a double standard here, because if Nicola had done the same, gone on vacation or been photographed with a random guy, everyone would have been like "Good for her, etc.". She gets on the Top 100 List for, honestly, being more present online with the work she does, but there are so many people who do great work who are not and will never be on that list. If Luke had gotten on it, some people would be so mad at him, I just know it.

I just miss them together and I have to blame the toxic fans for not seeing them together anymore. I do not doubt they have been in contact since, I mean, this whole ordeal happened because we are so obsessed with their connection, they must have talked about that infamous day, but also, I think some fans are creating stories of them not talking or growing apart that are just hurtful. Even before the world tour, they did not see each other every day, they do not have to speak every day for them to have a great bond. They simply cannot share it online anymore or, at least he can´t, because people over dissect every thing, even if it is just a smiley. Taylor Swift was framed with the whole Kanye thing years ago and she disappeared for a year. She was still doing stuff and seeing friends but we just never knew about it. And I get it.

It hurts me so much to see a genuinely nice and kind guy who did an amazing job as Colin get so many negative comments over nothing. Every time Nic does something, people throw it directly in his face. Oh, he was not at the Emmys. Oh, he was not at a fashion show. Maybe he does not want to be?! Maybe he couldn´t? Does Zendaya have to be everywhere with Tom Holland? Like, what?!

Loser Husbands - who was right?

Exodus has just reconstructed Xavier's brain after Bishop shot him in the head - but he won't wake up. Magneto is by his bedside, reflecting on everything that has brought them to this place. Karima is there to ensure both of their safety, a shipper on deck!

She uses her remaining Omega Sentinel implants to monitor Xavier's brain activity, and reports responses to the sound of Mags' voice. She's not sure if it's a good or bad thing, though, which Magneto says 'has always been the problem.'

We take a trip into what's left of Xavier's memories. Exodus had to remove them all to preserve his psyche, implying that Magneto and the X-Men are a part of him that can't be removed.

Chuck's subconscious is all over the place, with different situations blending together into a dream version of their eternal disagreement. Right now he seems to be focused on the events of Fatal Attractions. I hardly need to say that it's gay as hell.

Karima asks Mags which of them was right, something he chooses not to answer directly. He says that Charles is the one to ask, which says a lot. This is a post M-Day depowered Magneto. He's not very popular, even among those who once worshipped him, and he's estranged from his children. Mags proposes working together to rouse him from his slumber. His voice plus sentinel tech to stimulate his ... brain.

Their long history is blurring even further. Magneto's 1963 invasion of Santo Marco blends with Fatal Attractions and psychic tete a tete over the decades. Each mouth the others' words and it's implied that Mags is saying some of this stuff out loud to elicit a response. At minimum, his voice is causing 'random' neurons to fire and after a tour through their divorce and endless arguments Charles Xavier wakes up.

Karima moves to comfort him but Mags knows that his need to win their argument is what helped him remember who he is. He brings it up immediately, despite Xavier saying his mind is not complete.

After Frenzy tries to kill Chuck and Mags saves him violently, but non-lethally, Xavier plays a classic - 'was it necessary to kill her?' (He didn't, and she was absolutely about to kill both of them.) That old chestnut reminds him of their dynamic and he's able to answer Karima's question.

'We cancelled each other out and eventually became irrelevant.' An interesting answer, though I strongly doubt Xavier truly believes it. Perhaps in the moment, but that will pass. I love that so many pieces of him are missing, but his lifelong argument with his loser husband is there. Buried beneath memory as part of who he is. He asks Mags why he's here, the ingrate, and receives an evasive, provocative answer - a philosophical spar perhaps, or reassurance that they both don't die. Considering how dangerous it is for him to be here among those who want to kill him, I think the answer is that he came to make sure his loser husband was okay. Mission accomplished, and now it's his turn to be saved.

I often hear/read about how Jack and Elsa can pass off as siblings because they supposedly look alike. I personally don't think they do (or maybe that's the shipper in me talking lol) just because they are both light-haired, blue-eyed, and have a pale complexion. I mean, both their hair and eye colors are different shades anyway, that has to count for something, right?! XD

If you haven't heard of the song before, there are basically two major interpretations to it: it can either be viewed as a platonic or romantic relationship between twins. The overall idea is that, as adolescents, they realize that they're growing and that things are no longer the same. By that, no longer the same physically—as in their once similar facial features, hand sizes, etc. are all different now— and from a social standpoint, where it is no longer acceptable to do some things that were so normal for them as twins, such as sleeping in the same bed together (like I said before, you can view it however you like; be it either as the innocent indignance of close-knit twins who were suddenly made to distance themselves, or a tale of forbidden incestuous love). Most vocaloid songs, including this one, are up to interpretation anyway. I might be slightly off though, it has been quite a while since I've delved into the meanings of vocaloid songs. Whether or not to consider this jelsa piece as platonic or romantic, it's also up to you hehehe.

Even with all the controversy don’t you think Bellamort has roots in canon compared to other totally random and performative ships? I think a lot of fans get annoyed with Bellatrix’s personality and dismiss her because she’s intense, but to me that’s exactly what makes her special, she doesn’t care about fitting gender norms expected from women, like not even Voldemort could handle who she is. In the main books, Bellatrix definitely is in love with Voldemort (or at very least speaks to him "as if to a lover.") Helena Bonham-Carter and Ralph Fiennes also lean into this - Bellamort shippers need to get ON the cut scene where Bellatrix tries to give Voldemort her wand (32:12)

But I would say that how Book Voldemort feels about Bellatrix is deliberately kept ambiguous. The question of how Voldemort defines love, and if he's even capable of remorse, or the *type* of love that is Harry's main superpower, is very tied into to the plot and theme of the book. Dumbledore (who the books frame as an authority on these sorts of things) comes down on the side of Voldemort not being able to love. The most he'll say is that Voldemort gets fond of people. "I think he is perhaps as fond of [Nagini] as he can be of anything." Also in the job interview flashback, Dumbledore roasts Voldemort for calling his Death Eaters "friends." says they're really his "servants."

("Voldemort is incapable of feeling love" is very boring from a character standpoint though, so I'm not surprised that fan writers interested in Voldemort ... ignore that.)

Actually, now that I think about it. It if you want to get into Voldemort ships with both textual evidence and authorial intent behind them... you could do a lot worse than Voldemort/Nagini. She is a human woman trapped in a snake body (I mean, if you consider the Fantastic Beasts films canon.) Which means maybe she does technically pass the Harkness test? Either way, JKR saying that the giant snake used to be a human woman (and that she knew this the whole time) is... an interesting choice.

Dumbledore - who considers himself a bit of a Tom expert - says he's the most fond of her. Nagini has part of Voldemort's soul inside her (so cue all the Tomarry headcannons, equally relevant here.) AND she kept homunculus!Voldemort alive with her venom? which is... something. Voldemort also seems to give her the most delicate assignments, she's his main executioner, she can possess and move around other dead bodies? So um. That's on the table for them. I guess.

So what does he feel about Bellatrix? I don't know. He calls her by a pet name (Bella), but he also groups her in with Lucius when he's feeling angsty and trust-no-one.

There's the interesting scene at the Malfoy dining table, where Voldemort gets all the other Death Eaters laughing at her:

You must be so proud.” There was an eruption of jeering laughter from around the table. So, if nothing else... he's manipulative, and his manipulations are working on Bellatrix. (or maybe she's got a humiliation kink, who knows.) But he seems to like alternating between punishment and reward, and Bellatrix is never quite sure which one is coming.

I've seen the read that the "the happiest he had been in fourteen years" is referring specifically to the fact that *Bellatrix* has escaped Azkaban, but I would say that one probably has more to do with the power/success/euphoria that comes from generally winning, and effortlessly executing a mass Azkaban breakout. Same with his "scream" after Bellatrix's death, I think that's more to do with the fact that the tide of the battle has definitely turned.

I truly don't understand the writing on Stiles and Lydia's relationship in the show though. It feels like two different writers are playing hot potato with it, one writer hates it and the other loves it.

Seasons 1 and 2 really set them up. From Stiles' one-sided infatuation, they built a genuine friendship up, he got to know the real her and he was the one person who was actually there for her. They even dated briefly.

But then the season 2 finaly reunited Lydia and Jackson in an epic kiss and made Stiles actually watch that, stomping out the ship quick and dirty and you'd think okay, so next season we go back to Jackson/Lydia.

But then Colton leaves the show and Jackson is written off and you would think that they could build up on the momentum from season 1 and 2 and further the romantic relationship between Stiles and Lydia. You would think that, but it doesn't happen. Instead, the show decides on Aiden/Lydia and on setting up Stiles/Cora.

But then the potato goes back to the shipper and despite both those happening, Stiles and Lydia share that really stupidly forced panic-attack stopping kiss (that's not how you stop a panic attack. Why would Lydia think that). So you think oh, okay, maybe Aiden was just the rebound, maybe the thing with Stiles and Cora won't happen after all, maybe we are actually heading toward Stiles and Lydia.

But then we head into 3B and Aiden/Lydia is still a thing and even though Cora was written out of the show, Stiles gets to kiss a random girl and then Malia enters the plot and they have whatever they did in Eichen House (which, I do mean 'whatever', because Dylan says they did not have sex, while Shelley says they did have sex. So it's Schrödinger's Smut Scene).

But then during the final stage of the possession, it's all Lydia being there for Stiles, Stiles leaning on her, Lydia finding comfort in Stiles when Aiden dies. And you'd think oh, okay, but surely this time they will actually build out the romantic potential of this ship.

I’ve been meaning to write this for a long time because it’s something that keeps me thinking. So many people talk about the fashion in The Nanny, but almost no one mentions the MUSIC. I consider it a key factor in the show as it doesn't feature a lot of music in general. Sure, there are the jingles between scene changes, but I mean actual songs with lyrics. While they aren’t used often, the few times they appear are super meaningful. I recall three (there might’ve been more) but these stand out the most. And two songs are like clues for us to follow, even if indirect, that were supposed to fulfill in few another seasons into the future.

Let’s start with the most obvious one: the final episode and Barbra Streisand’s Memories. I hardly need to explain why this song was so impactful, but I will anyway. The choice of Barbra’s song is so smart as she was brought up in the show so many times as Fran’s muse and the lyrics match the storyline perfectly – it was such a thoughtful decision by the creators. The song ties everything together in the finale, closing the chapter on Fran’s journey in a such beautiful, sentimental way.

Second song is from the Kindervelt Days episode when Fran is supposed to go to a reunion with Eric Estrada, but eventually Maxwell shows up and dances with her to Two Different Worlds. It took me some time to find the exact song, but I was determined to prove my point. Here we go with the lyrics:

It’s clear that the song choice wasn’t random. The song is a foreshadowing of Fran and Maxwell ending up together, even though this was only the second season. Despite the “will-they-won’t-they” tension that ran through much of the show, the writers were suggesting that Fran and Maxwell were destined to be together, not only by the actions but also by the words in the background.

The third song, most important for me as a C.C. and Niles shipper, is from The Nose Knows episode. C.C. and Niles dance to Our Love is Here to Stay. Given how MEANINGFUL the songs in this show are, I believe this one was deliberately chosen to indicate where their relationship was heading. The title alone, Our Love is Here to Stay, tells us everything we need to know. Look at the lyrics:

It was CLEARLY a planned moment, and for anyone who claims their relationship came out of nowhere, I think this song proves otherwise. I believe with my whole little cold heart that the writers were signaling, even if indirectly, that C.C. and Niles were always meant to end up together. Their love was supposed to be just like the lyrics say – I’ll defend that with my life.

And you know what I love most about The Nanny? How it seems to be a silly sitcom, but in reality there are so many layers to uncover if you take the time to look. I really believe the writers used these little details – like the songs – to communicate something deeper. As someone with a literary background, maybe I’m prone to analyzing things a bit more intensely than most people, but it’s so exciting to find hidden gems like these in a 90s sitcom.

Of course, people can enjoy the show without digging into the hidden meanings, but for someone like me, bounded with words both professionally and personally, I can’t help but appreciate the writers’ craft. Eighteen years after I first started watching, I’m still rediscovering new things, and that’s part of what makes the show so brilliant.

So yes, I really do think the music (which is three songs lol) is crucial to understanding the show’s emotional depth. These tiny little details make the experience so much better.

Sakura vs Pierrot?

Like I said in my last post, I´m re-watching and re-reading Naruto and I couldn´t help but notice there are extra scenes in the anime about Sakura, but not all of them are bad. I don´t think the anime tries to make her unlikeable, its actually trying to make her look better.

btw this is about og Naruto and I´m currently in the Chunnin exams arc. Maybe this gets bad in Shippuden idk?

Introduction

In episode 3 we get an extra scene in the anime where we can hear Sakura´s mother calling for her and she says that "she´s tired of being treated like a little girl". This is nonexistant in the manga, and it tries to add some depth to her character, since the only thing we get is that she likes Sasuke. The rest of the scenes in this episode are very similar to the manga, she comes off as annoying in both of them, but that´s okay bc characters are supposed to have development.

EXCEPT for this last one

But honestly, I think this is good. She sees Naruto and tries to invite him and be nice to him. She only yells at him at the end because he didn´t believe her and ran away because he thought it was Sasuke pretending to be her.

2. Goal

This is exactly the same in the manga/anime but I wanna bring it up because I HATE IT. Naruto and Sasuke are literally stating their goals as characters but Sakura is only able to say she "dislikes Naruto". I think this is why Kishimoto or Pierrot or whoever it was came up with the idea of Sakura´s parents, so at least she has SOMETHING other than "I like Sasuke".

3. Chunin exams

Everything is the same in the Land of Waves arc, so I´ll skip it. The first change we get is this added scenes that take half of episode 21 in which the jonin desgise themselves as enemies to test team 7 to see if they´re ready for the exams. In Sakura´s case, she passes because she realizes the whole thing is a genjutsu. Its a cool scene for her, but sadly, right after that we go back to canon, where she doesn´t have any confidence again.

Its a good extra, but at the end, all the confidence she shows here is gone later, so meh.

Canonically, she feels better because Sasuke points out the genjutsu at the door of the exams and tells her she is smart. It´s cute, but it would have been better if she felt confident because she did something herself, not because the boy she likes told her something nice for once.

This is a detail that gets pointed out by ssk shippers that is not in the anime, so I guess this is the first point for the manga, but it´s just a detail bc the rest is the exact same.

Also, another point for ssk shippers ig. In the anime he remembers the hug from the Forest of death, in the manga is just Sakura crying.

4. Ino

This is something I´m not sure about because in the english translation Ino says this, but in spanish she says "Bah, he thinks he´s so cool" (talking about Sasuke). SO, in the manga it seems like Ino liked Sasuke but was tsundere (?) about it and said nothing to Sakura, and when the later found out she declared Ino an enemy, which is weird and makes Sakura look bad honestly.

But in the anime (again, in the latam dub) it goes:

Random girl: "Wow, it seems like Sakura came out of her shell" Ino: "Tch, I would like to push her back in"

This makes Ino look really mean, so we now assume Sakura left because she felt Ino´s resentment, and Sasuke was just an excuse. Appart from this, while they´re friends, we never see Ino trying to put Sakura down in any way. She is always putting herself down so that Ino lifts her up.

The anime makes Ino meaner adding things like this too. She follows Sakura into the bathroom to tell her to give up (not in the manga).

Also, they add a fist fight right at the begining of their battle, which is good because we barely see that in the manga. I love when Ino gets the upper hand and is about to punch Sakura but then remembers when she was little and slaps her instead.

Those are things I noticed so far, I might make another post as I keep reading/watching. It just seems like Kishimoto realized Sakura was lacking and decided to add more to her character in the anime, but in no way is manga Sakura better than anime Sakura. Actually, it seems like it´s the other way around. And it sucks that they had to make Ino meaner in the anime because in the manga she´s just a cool girl.

Yeah, some over invested Dean/Lisa shipper wrote up a whole ridiculous article about it [X] a while back.

Like, especially with the show going on fifteen seasons, often revisiting things, and having such an active fandom? I get how fans came to fixate on random characters or storylines they personally liked or wanted to see more of. Even (or especially) when those things were a very minor part of canon - or actually just their own fanfic and not canon at all. Including things TPTB explicitly shot down, because the show was on long enough to change who TPTB were multiple times. Meanwhile, fans feeling entitled to have media they like catered to their personal wants or they'll throw massive tantrums is an unfortunate overall trend in recent years across fandom, not just an issue with SPN. Not likeable, but I see how it happens.

What I haven't really seen outside of SPN, though? Is such a slew of entitled minor supporting actors trying to claim greater importance to a canon they were barely a part of for their own aggrandizement and hopes of being brought back. Like, the boon of ongoing cons isn't enough for them, they see all that SPN $$$ and want more of it directed their way.

You have Kim declaring she would just refuse to appear if they killed off Jody. You have Kim and Brianna bragging about deserving a spin-off where they'd show the boys how it's really done -and then throwing embarrassing public tantrums on SM when the network gave it the pass it deserved. You have Rob and Rich doing a podcast where it's not only obvious they don't actually like or respect the show? But they can't even be bothered to pay attention as they 'watch' it to milk the fandom through promises of insider info. Which aside from their own barely-there and therefore hardly expert insider status? Includes such, uh, gems as Cindy randomly claiming years after the fact Ben was actually Dean's kid and she totes played it that way - despite the canon and despite Kripke's explicit denial back when it was remotely relevant (as well as Jensen's).

All of this from people where not a one of them was involved in more than around 20ish of 327 episodes. But saying things certain over-invested fans want to hear gets them attention, $$$, and just might make them seem like 'fan favorites' that should be brought back! Yeah.

ᥫ᭡. because of her experience taking care of her father, she was one of the most compassionate students, and eventually teachers, towards the younger ones who struggled with mental health

ᥫ᭡. she and poppy, already popular for their beauty and personalities, became known for their genuine kindness

ᥫ᭡. she and poppy became prefects at the same time, furthering their reputation as the gryffindor mothers

ᥫ᭡. she passed her o.w.l.s with flying colors, etc. etc.

ᥫ᭡. she spent the whole summer before her sixth year with poppy, eating ice cream, taking the train to edinburgh to go to the museums and “experience some culture”

ᥫ᭡. the next year, minnie worked on becoming an animagus, under the supervision of dumbledore

ᥫ᭡. she became an animagus in a little over seven months, due to a few failed attempts, but!!! she got their in the end bc of course she did she's mcgonagall

ᥫ᭡. from that point forward she was constantly turning into her cat form, bc she loved yowling at her fellow students when they pissed her off

ᥫ᭡. of course she had to keep the fact that she was an animagus a secret, even tho she did it legally

ᥫ᭡. sixth and seventh year she got a lot of awards for transfiguration, but now she was starting to worry about where she would go in her career

ᥫ᭡. most of her teachers insisted she take up a teaching position at hogwarts but she was like “no😭😭 i hate kids”

ᥫ᭡. after graduation, she got a job at a magazine in london, where she had a column about transfiguration. she interviewed famous people, talked about how transfiguration and other forms of magic can be mixed, etc.

ᥫ᭡. but she wasn't happy

ᥫ᭡. at this point, she was penpals w poppy, who was working back at hogwarts

ᥫ᭡. poppy filled her in on the drama, and when minnie found out dumbledore was leaving his position as transfiguration professor to be headmaster, she rushed to apply

ᥫ᭡. obviously, she was given the job

ᥫ᭡. one time minnie got in a fight with another animal in her animagus form and she showed up to class the next day with nicks in her ear and a limp

ᥫ᭡. causing a school-wide rumor that she was secretly in a gang (she doesn't deny it)

ᥫ᭡. minnie in animagus form always accompanied remus on the full moon, to make sure he never hurt himself too badly

ᥫ᭡. mcgonagall def picked favorites, but they had to earn it. some of her notable favorites: molly weasley, bill weasley, regulus black, remus lupin, andromeda black, mary macdonald, hermione granger, luna lovegood, neville longbottom, harry potter, fred & george weasley, and lee jordan (the quidditch commentator)

Jayvik ship<3

As an openly Jayvik shipper, I must admit I like creating stories in my head about them (and all my ships in any stories, truly). So I thought, might as well share!

Context: This is basically imagining if Jayce and Viktor got in a relationship at some point during the time skip between episode 3 and 4.

I'm pretty sure Viktor never had a lot of affection in his life, while on the other hand Jayce seems like an absolute teddy bear, especially if he's in a relationship.

So here's a little collection of moments I imagined of Jayce being sweet/worried, with a confused/flustered Viktor in response of it, because he's not used to it. (Honestly he probably would never get used to it, but at some point he'd most likely have less reaction, so I imagine this being more at the start of their relation)

(mostly all cute moments, a bit of arguing in the second stories, nothing too big though)

Flowers

Jayce always liked to give flowers to people he fell in love with, man or woman. It's classic, but it's always sweet, plus it brightens the space. So one day, as he passed by a flower shop on his way to work he couldn't help but think he should buy a small bouquet, or at least a rose for his dear Viktor, that they could put in their way too empty lab.

So he walked inside the lab, passing by Sky, who gave a sad smile. She had a crush on Viktor for a good time, but she knew he was with Jayce, but at least she was happy that he could be happy in love, even if not with her. Jayce passed the door and entered, walking to Viktor who was as focused as always on his work. So much that he didn't even realized Jayce walked in. Jayce gently placed his hand on Viktor shoulders to get his attention. As the other man turned around and looked at him, he presented him the flowers.

Jayce, handing Viktor the flowers - "There, for you V."

Viktor - "You got me flowers?" He said, a bit surprised. Obviously he knew giving flowers was a common way of saying "I love you" without words, but he still didn't really expect it, even less on a random day like this. If it had been his birthday or Valentine day he would've got it, but today? No, today was no special day.

Viktor - "Why? It's not Valentine day... Right?"

Jayce, chuckling - "No, no it's not. I just thought it'd be nice. You could place them somewhere in the lab" He suggested, before leaning down and pressing a small tender kiss to Viktor's cheek. The only answer he got was a small smile from Viktor, but he was more than satisfied by it.

Working late

(slight arguing)

Viktor always had this upsetting habit to come back home at crazy hours after work, or sometimes he doesn't even come back at all! This always worried Jayce, how much Viktor neglected the importance of sleeping. Today was no exception either, it was already passed midnight and he was still sat down at his desk, face in his book, where he was taking some notes. That is until he heard the sound of the door open, which was unusual, usually only Jayce and Sky would come here, sometime Heimerdinger, but never without a good reason and certainly not at this hour. He turns around to see Jayce walking in, to his surprise.

Viktor - "Jayce? What are you doing here at this hour?"

Jayce - "Viktor, I can't believe I'm about to do this, but I'll drag you home by force if I have to"

Viktor - "Slow down here, what's the matter?"

Jayce - "The matter? You never take care of yourself, that's the matter! You spend your nights here!"

Viktor - "And? I'm working on hextech"

Jayce - "Yeah, I know that. I know how important these discoveries are for you, but you should still care a bit more about your health!"

Viktor - "My health is as fine as it can b-"

Jayce - "Bullshit, and you know it! You have to come back home" He said, grabbing Viktor by the arm, his touch firm but not so tight. Viktor pulled away and frowned, with an irritated look on his face. As he was about to speak back, he saw Jayce placing himself down on his knees in front of him and resting his head on his laps, which certainly shut him up.

Jayce - "Look... I don't want us to argue about this... I just worry about you, and I want you to come back home with me after work. I... I miss having you at home with me" He paused, taking Viktor's hand in his own. "You're hurting yourself by doing this, you're exhausting yourself, and if I have to carry you home on my shoulders I-" But he was cut off by the hand of his lover gently caressing his cheek and answering.

Viktor - "Well, you might have to, more often than not... But I guess I could indeed take a break right now..." And at that Jayce smiled like a kid who just got given a bunch of candies.

Jayce - "Will you really?" As to which Viktor answer by a slight shrug and a smile. So Jayce finally got to convince his lover of getting a bit more sleep... For today at least, he knew deep down that this would be a never ending battle between the two of them.

Cuddles, kisses, soft touches and tender words

Jayce was affectionate in every way, but even more so physically. He loved to just come up to Viktor and snuggle in his arms, to wrap his arm around Viktor's waist as they were standing next to each other or to just lay his head on his lap, his chest, his shoulder, wherever he deemed would be comfortable truly. Viktor wasn't so surprised by it anymore, but one thing he'd never get used to were the small kisses left here and there.

He was just casually laying down shirtless on his and Jayce's bed, thinking about a multitude of things all at once, as usual. That is, until Jayce walked in and decided to lay down on the bed next to him, wrapping his arms around his waist and resting his head on his stomach. At first Viktor just moved a hand down and gently played with Jayce's hair, before he started feeling him leaving a few soft kisses on his skin.

Jayce - "Love you, V.."

Viktor wrapped both his arms around Jayce's strong frame and hold onto him tightly, slightly flustered by the kisses but enjoying them nonetheless.

The Dwarves and Bilbo :3

Ok I know damn well I never talked about any lotr or the hobbit movies but I've rematched the movies last month and I've had some very wholesome but kind of sad little skits in my head after I finished all six movies.

This will mainly be focused on Bilbo and The Dwarves so I hope you enjoy this random thing I did in my head :)

Alright so after the battle of the five armies of course fili, Kili, and thorin died while the other dwarves lived after the war (still crying about that). Well in LOTR 9 of the dwarves also passed away from their own deaths while I think Gloin is still alive? I forgot so if anyone can remember, you may tell me🙏

Anyway now I imagine the wholesome thing is that what if someone revived the dwarves? And not in like bringing them back from the dead, more like bringing their souls to life again. So they're like ghosts and all that. And what's wholesome about this little story I've made up is that the dwarves 'Haunts' Bilbo's home in the shire and they technically all live there in the shire in Bilbo's home without the Hobbit even knowing the dead souls of his old company just constantly hanging around his house. I feel like some of the dwarves would help bilbo around the house since he is getting older and older, so whenever bilbo loses something or can't find what he's looking for some of the dwarves would just leave the item somewhere in his home, like the kitchen, dining room, bedroom, etc.

And here are what I think the dwarves would do in Bilbo's home in the shire :D!!

Thorin: I feel like he would oftenly be the one who sticks around Bilbo's side everyday because the two were very close (yes I am a Bagginshield shipper👌). Also I feel like thorin would be kind of surprised that bilbo kept the mithril shirt he gave to him a long time ago and finds that quite heartwarming. Thorin would be the more quiet and calm spirit so he rarely talks but if he does, it would be really short since he just doesn't have anything interesting to talk about. He would guard and protect bilbo even in his sleep since they're dead souls they don't need sleep. And he even watched bilbo plant the seed in his garden in Bag-end, he's very happy about it. Thorin has met frodo and he finds him quite charming, he has small similarities to bilbo but he still questions why frodo looks exactly like thorin himself.

Fili & Kili: These two would absolutely be clinging towards their fellow hobbit. Even though they're much older than Bilbo, they always refer to him as uncle since he oftenly takes care of them when they were alive. Fili would help bilbo by guarding his home from anyone who tries to pull some shit, and kili would do the same but mainly he would look at all of Bilbo's family items, like the fancy and very old ones. One time he broke one by accident and tried fixing it but in the end, bilbo blamed frodo for it even though the poor boy didn't even break it, (Kili still feels bad about it till this day). Fili and Kili would always watch over frodo whenever bilbo was never around and they would act like frodo's nephew/uncle. Kili wishes he could meet tauriel but he knows she probably needed some space so he let's her have it :).

Balin & Dwalin: Balin would mostly chill around Bilbo's home in his soul form but would help the hobbit when he can, like clean up after himself and also finding items for bilbo when he loses them. Dwalin would be 24/7 guarding the house but I have a feeling he would sometimes watch bilbo garden his plants and how he grows his food there, he wants to try but Balin reminds him that they are dead, and they can't do gardening whatsoever, so they just watch him. They are very fond of frodo and one time dwalin gave little frodo his axe which bilbo found in his room and almost passed out till death, Balin lectures dwalin ever since that happened.

Bofur, Bifur, & Bombur: The three would probably laze around Bilbo's house (mainly Bombur trying to eat even though the man is dead). Bofur would always watch bilbo doing his daily chores and helps him too if he can. One time bilbo lost his handkerchief which gave bofur a funny memory from when they first traveled together, so he made a new one for bilbo and left it on his bedroom desk. Bilbo still questions where the handkerchief came from. Bifur would sometimes look at Bilbo's home items and would often loose them and balin was always the one who has to find them again.

Ori, Nori, Dori & Oin: They would often be distracted by a lot of the things in the shire since they're mostly outside rather than inside the house. Might've accidentally scared the crap out of some of Bilbo's neighbors and even steal some of their stuff and return it to Bilbo's house, they got scolded by balin and thorin for it.

Overall the dwarves cares a lot about Bilbo and frodo included, and so far the only people who can see them in actually Gloin, Gimli, Aragon, Frodo, and Legolas, but besides that no one else can see them :D

Sunrise on the Reaping theories + thoughts so far (pt 1)

here's a collection of the most likely and most interesting head-canons and stuff I've seen, both fandom-made and my own

NOT MINE BUT EXPANDED & CONNECTED BY ME:

• Tigress pov, as an audience member, maybe she's Haymitch's designer

• we got a tribute pov, a mentor pov, now we could get an audience pov because of the themes of propaganda she emphasizes... we could also get multi pov if she wants to do smth crazy and appease all fans

• Unreliable narrator, perhaps screwing with the reader's head on what actually happened in the games, capitol editing footage out

• Perhaps Tigress observes the games and originally starts off oblivious to the truth but the more she watches and helps Haymitch the more she begins to see the truth, and so the capitol punishes both her and Haymitch for it

• Lucy Gray is midnight, Haymitch/Maysilee is sunrise, Katniss/Peeta is sunset (symbolic of the progression of the games. Lucy Gray wiped out and forgotten, Haymitch the escaped glimmering sliver of change, Katniss the blazing fire and finale)

• Maysilee wore the mockingjay pin in the arena but the capitol edited it out of all the footage

• Themes of light vs dark, truth vs lies, the audience starts out unaware and conflicted but comes to see how things really are

• Katniss parents could appear??? Maybe we'll see Mr. and Mrs. Everdeen fall in love??

MY THEORIES + THOUGHTS:

• (canon) The arena is an illusion. Flowers, water, fruit, mountains, animals. It's beautiful, heavenly, too good to be true, it doesn't seem real... well, it's not real. Everything seems normal and like you know what it is, but the Entire Setting is actually poisonous and deadly. JUST like the theme of propaganda and lies, she says the book is about. The arena itself is a meta layer to things not being as they appear.

• the cover will have a mockingjay and a sunrise or sun-flare, gold against purple

• the "sunrise" in the title is symbolism, for a person and a theme, likely symbolic of Maysilee Donner because of her kindness and humanity and spirit casting light in the face of violence and war (the reaping). A light the capitol would've snuffed out, to hide the truth. (I have a whole essay on this + maysilee's importance pls check my feed)

• Maysilee is the real mockingjay, and very important, not just a random dead background character who passed down the pin to Katniss. We know how Collins' brain works. Look at TBOSAS. Look at how she foreshadowed Lucy Gray as early as the first book. 

• the mockingjay isn't just one person, but a symbol of resistance and goodness and freedom, that anyone can take on as a mantle, an idea rather than tied to one thing or person. Lucy Gray, Rue, Katniss, and likely Maysilee.

• a rebellion almost happened with the mockingjay pin and Maysilee and Haymitch and perhaps Tigress seeing the truth last minute, but the capitol snuffed it out and destroyed all the evidence of such a thing ever happening, including Haymitch's family and punishing Tigress, leading Panem and the readers themselves in the dark and at peace. Maysilee is the warm sun to bring the spark of a fire, her pin symbolically passes onto Katniss through her niece, thus passing on the resistance and legacy. ....symbolic of how the mockingjay had the will to survive, even when it was destroyed and wiped out.... It escaped and became stronger in the face of its enemies....

• ...for all we know, Katniss' dad didn't die in a coal mining accident, but perhaps was a rebel himself and the capitol planted explosions in the mines to get rid of him. we can't just blindly trust the narrative.

• If Haysilee is a parallel to Everlark, what if Haymitch's girlfriend is a Gale figure? This isn't just because I'm a haysilee shipper I'm built to be a multishipper I'm FIGHTING not to be biased I'm openminded, but i feel the haysilee content in my bones and it's definitely a possibility

• the capitol (and Snow) believes that humanity is vile, that humans will always give into instinct and fend for themselves, that you can't trust or love or anyone lest it lead to your downfall. So... If Ballad was about humanity's corruption, perhaps Reaping is about humanity's goodness (the bond between Haymitch and Maysilee, Tigress seeing the truth despite being a capitol/audience member, perhaps the Capitol cut the footage of that bond to prevent a rebellion like Everlark's relationship later induces) 

• Most people are saying this book will be super depressing and focused on the capitol's propaganda succeeding to stop a rebellion, and I do agree, but, that doesn't cancel out highlighting themes of goodness and friendship but rather enhances them. Perhaps that very thing is what we're missing from the footage, what the capitol succeeded in covering up, raw humanity being the thing that defies their propaganda the most, and punished anyone who acted otherwise (Haymitch, Tigress...)

and why Collins would logically choose to tell this story (regardless of pov because that could be anything at this point she'll upset someone either way)
