Speak Now
Supergirl. Baby Danvers. Lena Luthor x B!D. Kara Danvers.
Word Count: 3.3k
Whoa.
She looks beautiful.
It hits you like a punch to the chest. No warning, no mercy. Just Lena. In white. Standing there like she’s already someone else’s, and it guts you in a way nothing else has.
Her dress is too bright. Too clean. Like it’s trying to blind you into looking away. Her hair’s pulled back, every pin a quiet little soldier holding the shape of a future you were never invited into. Pearls catch the light in her dark hair; tiny, glinting things that look like memories you never got to keep.
She’s staring at herself in the mirror like she doesn’t recognize the reflection. Like she’s trying to fake it. Make it real. Make this hers. She looks perfect, even though is shaped like a heartbreak.
No. Worse.
She looks like your dream—wrapped in silk and promises. A dream you’ve carried so close inside your mind it’s rewritten your memories, reshaped the way you breathe around her.
You don’t say any of that. You can’t. So you swallow the words like you always do, and it burns like bile when they go back down your throat.
Instead, you clear your throat. “Hey,” you try softly, like your heart isn’t screaming. “You sent for me?”
She turns. The smell of lavender hits you first. Hers. Familiar. Warm. But tonight, it smells like endings. Like something soft being whisked away.
The smile she offers is an imitation of a painted curve on lips you know so intimately. Tight, automatic, polite. Like another piece of jewelry she’s carefully put in place. You’ve lived entire days inside her real smiles, and this—this isn’t one of them.
“Yeah,” she says, her fingers tracing the delicate edge of her veil as if it’s made from thorns. “I couldn’t get this stupid thing to sit right. I could use your help.”
You cross the room without thinking. Like gravity. Like your body remembers her more than you do. Your hands move on autopilot while fixing, adjusting, pretending to focus on anything except her watery eyes. Pretending her skin doesn't burn your hands.
“Nervous?”
It slips out. You want to take it back the second it does.
She laughs. Sort of. A thin, shaky sound she tries to pass off as ease. “Everyone gets cold feet, right?” But she doesn’t believe it. Not for a second. You can see it in the way she studies her own reflection not with excitement, but like she’s checking for visible cracks.
“He’s good,” she says. “It’ll be fine.”
You nod quietly, even though you want to scream. Good isn’t enough. Fine isn’t love.
Why is she settling for so little, when love is standing right in front of her in a stupid pastel bridesmaid’s dress?
She’s twisting her hands together now. You want to reach out, hold them still, tell her it doesn’t have to be this way. The silent plea echoes in the hollow chambers of your heart. Don’t do this. Don’t marry him. Pick me instead. Please pick me.
But you don’t say it and you certainly don't reach out. Instead, you smile.
Because you love her. And sometimes, loving someone feels like a slow, agonizing death. Sometimes it feels like selfless acts. It feels like walking her to someone else and pretending your heart isn't breaking beyond recognition.
You’re still fiddling with her veil, your fingers clumsy and useless, tugging at nothing, smoothing edges that are already perfect, when her warm hand closes over yours. The touch sends a jolt through you. A painful reminder of the intimacy you’re about to lose.
“Hey,” she says, voice soft, so achingly soft, it nearly unravels the last threads of your composure. “It’s fine. I don't think this is ever going to be perfect.”
You freeze. The delicate lace suddenly burns against your skin.
And you can’t breathe. Because Lena always does this. Always says everything while saying nothing at all. Always gives you just enough to keep you guessing, but never enough to be sure.
Is she talking about the veil? The wedding? Her heart?
You wouldn’t know.
She’s looking at you now. Really looking. And you know—you know—she feels it too. That dangerous pull you've always felt around each other. The gravity of something you’ve both refused to name for years.
There’s a raw vulnerability in her eyes, something fragile and scared that says she’s one breath away from shattering. One breath away from saying something that would change everything. Something she might never be able to take back.
And for one unbearable second, the desperate urge to beg her overwhelms you.
Say it. Say it. Please just say it.
But she doesn’t.
So you blink, and the moment slips merciless.
You step back, a coward retreating from the battlefield of your own heart. You step back like you haven’t loved her quietly, fiercely, for years. Like your whole soul isn’t screaming her name into the silence of the room.
“Why didn’t you ask your maid of honor for help?”
A flicker of surprise crosses her face, quickly masked by a familiar politeness. She looks away, fingers smoothing her dress like she could iron out the wrinkles with sheer will alone.
“I didn’t want to stress Kara out,” her voice is soft, almost a whisper. “She already cried over the font in the Save the Date cards.”
She’s trying to make you laugh. You do. Sort of.
“Besides,” she adds, her gaze still averted, “I figured you’d be the one to tell me if I looked like a mess.”
Yeah, right. Like she would ever look like anything less than perfection.
“Still mad I didn’t pick you?” she teases. A light jab. She didn’t mean to sound like that, didn’t mean for it to ache. But it does. It always does, with her.
Because yes. Rao, yes. Every fiber of your being aches with the injustice of it. But not for the reason she thinks.
It’s not the Maid of Honor title that stings. Not the label. Not the rank—best friend after Kara and Sam, but still before Alex.
It’s that you were not considered for the part you wanted most.
It’s his title —Her partner, her lover, her future— you want. It's the name. The one she’ll sign beside his, over and over, a permanent reminder that she does not belong with you.
You want to scream your feelings, shatter this illusion, ruin this carefully orchestrated day. You want to rip the veil away and make her look—really look—and see the truth in your eyes.
But instead—
“No,” you say, the lie a lead weight on your tongue. “Kara would’ve cried if you didn’t pick her. I know my sister.”
She laughs again, a sound that’s real this time. A sound so yours it makes you furious that you’ll have to share it.
And then, before you can stop yourself…
“You look stunning.” You don’t even mean to say it. It just tears out of you, raw and reckless.
Her breath hitches, an almost imperceptible gasp.
“Yeah?” she asks, the word no louder than a hope. A fragile plea for reassurance.
You nod, your throat tight with unshed tears, your heart bleeding a slow, agonizing trail down your spine.
“Yeah. Beautiful—like you always do.”
Because that word—beautiful— encompasses everything: Her spirit. Her laughter. The way her eyes crinkle at the corners when she’s really, truly happy.
And you’re just supposed to let that go.
Lena’s gaze falls, her eyes locked on the way her hands twist in her lap. The white dress she was so careful with this morning is creased now, bunched between her fingers like she’s trying to wring the nerves out of herself.
The air thickens. Words hang there, unsaid, choking both of you.
“I don’t feel like me,” she says, so quietly you would've missed it if you weren't kryptonian.
You freeze. Every part of you goes still.
“I should,” she adds quickly, like she's trying to outpace the doubt. “I should. I’ve been planning this for months. I’m supposed to be glowing. But instead I just… what if I’ve been pretending so long I forgot what real even looks like?”
Your hands shake. The pin you’re still holding slips through your fingers and clinks against the floor, the sound so small that if the world hadn't stopped just now, no one would hear it.
There it is. The truth. The crack. The real Lena Luthor you've always known.
And every instinct in you screams: Reach for her. Hold her. Kiss her until she forgets his name and only remembers yours. Tell her: Then don’t go. Stay. Stay here, where real is waiting for you.
But you don’t. You bend down, slow and clumsy, and pick up the pin. You press it into place, sealing her into a future that has nothing to do with you.
“Lena, come on,” you say, and your voice sounds like someone else's, flat and distant, like it’s echoing through a tunnel. “You know what you’re doing. You’ve got this. This is what you've been preparing yourself for so long.”
Every word tastes like ash.
“Stop.” She jerks her head away, her voice sharp, sudden, desperate. Her eyes flash like something breaking open. “God, Y/N. Don't do that. I called for you because I thought—” Her voice cracks, and the sound of it feels like it physically tears into you. “I thought you’d tell me the truth. If I wanted that speech you're giving me, I would've called Sushine Danvers. ”
You look at her. At the mess of her dress, her trembling hands, the chaos flickering in her eyes. You look at her the way you always do. And it hurts.
“What do you want me to say?” Your voice is small, barely there.
“The truth.”
But the truth—the real, whole truth—is still locked inside you, pressed down beneath fear and history and the knowledge that loving her out loud might ruin your lives.
So you don’t give her all of it. You give her nothing.
“About what?” you ask, the deflection weak, your last defense already crumbling.
“This.” She waves at the room, at the dress, at herself, at everything closing in. “Tell me. Am I making a mistake?”
Your arms fall to your sides, useless. The veil you just pinned shifts, like even it knows it doesn’t belong here. She’s watching you with that look that sees too much. That quiet plea: Please. Please just say it so I don’t have to.
“Lena,” you whisper. Just her name. It feels like stepping up to the edge of something you won’t survive.
Because anything more—anything real—would break it all wide open.
She lets out a breath of a laugh, but there’s nothing soft about it. Just bitterness, just pain.
“Don’t you dare,” she says, and her voice is shaking now. “Don’t you dare look at me like that, with that look like you see right through me, and still lie.”
You want to scream. You want to cry. You want to pick her up in bridal style and fly away. Find a way. You want to take her somewhere where no one’s waiting and everything is quiet and honest and just for the two of you.
But instead, you give her the lie that finally kills you.
“No. You’re just nervous.”
And something breaks. Not loudly—but deeply. Quietly. Something that was beautiful in its almost-ness, that could’ve been something more, cracks and falls apart in both of you.
Lena closes her eyes, and a single tear escapes, trailing slowly down her cheek like it doesn’t want to leave either.
And you know that something inside her, something soft and brave and maybe yours, probably just died right there.
“I thought if you said it was right,” she says, her voice wrecked now, thick and trembling, “I’d believe it. I always believe you. But, alas…”
And you realize—too late, always too late—that she would’ve stayed. If you’d just been brave. If you’d given her something to hold on to.
But you didn’t.
And now she’s going to marry someone else, with your name still caught somewhere in her throat like something she never got to say.
And you’ll sit there, front row, with a smile that doesn’t belong to you. You’ll clap when they kiss. And the sound will echo inside the hollowed-out place where your heart used to be.
Before you even find the words, the ones that could undo whatever mistake you just made—
“Hey guys!”
A too-loud interruption slices through the suffocating silence.
Your sister bursts into the room like artificial sunlight, breathless and beaming, her cheerfulness too bright to be real. She’s nervous too—you can tell by the way her smile twitches at the edges. But when her eyes land on Lena, they soften instantly. That part is genuine.
“Ten minutes!” she announces, her voice falsely bright. “Oh, Lena, you look perfect. He’s going to absolutely lose it when he sees you.”
She beams, then points at you with mock sternness, missing entirely the raw ache clinging to the air.
“You—make sure she’s not late. I’m still trying to convince Esmé to toss the petals like a flower girl and not a tiny assassin.”
She turns to Lena, softening instantly, like she’s worried the joke might’ve gone too far.
“But don’t worry,” she adds, smiling. “Either way, it’s gonna be cute.”
Lena only nods. You manage a weak smile, your chest tight with pain.
“Don’t worry. I've got this.” The words feel cruel. You've got nothing.
Kara nods, satisfied, her mind already half-back in the chaos outside. She squeezes Lena’s hand, a final stamp of approval on a future that doesn’t include you and floats away, all light and nerves and misplaced hope.
The door clicks shut behind her.
Silence folds in again, heavier now, more aware of what it’s covering.
“Okay! Ten minutes! Let's make this sit right, so you can walk down the aisle.”
You reach for the veil, that delicate thing you tried so hard to fix, but Lena catches your hand mid-air.
“So,” she says, her voice too light, too fake, “you’re in charge of getting me to the aisle, huh.”
She laughs once. A single breath, sharp with irony.
“To be honest,” she whispers, voice lined with something aching, “I always thought you’d be the one to keep me from it.”
Your heart stutters. You search her face, desperate for some clue that this is a joke, a mistake, anything. But all you find is the raw truth—unhidden, undeniable. She’s stripped it bare. No more polite pretending.
Time stills. The air is thick, suspended between the before and the after.
“Lena…” you start, your voice barely there. Your fingers are still caught in hers—this fragile thread between you—and you don’t pull away.
Then, before fear can clamp down, before loyalty or logic or the memory of his face can stop you, it all cracks open.
“What do you want me to say?” you whisper, voice thick with unshed tears. “Tell me. I’ll do whatever you need. It is your day, after all.”
Something flickers in her eyes. Small. Barely visible.
“If you need me to get you to that aisle,” you go on, your voice trembling, “I will. In nine minutes. I’ll fix your veil. I’ll hold your bouquet. I’ll smile when you say yes no matter how I feel.”
She doesn’t let go of your hand.
“But if you don’t. If you want the truth—here, now, before you vow yourself to someone else…”
Your voice breaks.
“I’ll give you that too.”
The silence that follows is deafening. Electric. Years of longing collapsing into this breathless moment. You can feel your pulse everywhere. In your throat. Your hands. The space where her skin still touches yours.
“Which one do you want, Lena?” you ask, your voice low and breaking. “The lie—where I play the supportive friend? Or the truth—insane and real and bound to destroy everything? You have to choose, because I can’t give you both.”
She doesn’t hesitate.
“The truth. Finally tell me the truth.” Her voice is paper-thin, unraveling. “Please. I need to hear it. Just once.”
Her gaze drifts to the door. That future, so close she can almost touch it. But she’s still standing here.
Your chest tightens like a trap. Each breath is a struggle. You step closer, careful. She looks like she might shatter.
“I’m in love with you,” You confess.
The words land like a confession and a curse altogether. A prayer and a funeral bell. Not hope. Just the truth. Raw, sacred, inevitable.
She gasps, soft, sharp, believing. For the first time, her gaze drops. Then she looks up again—and the mask is gone. What’s left is Lena. Not the bride, not the one who's gonna take his last name.
“I know,” she says. Quiet. Broken. “I think… I think I’ve always known.”
And the unspoken question bleeds between you like smoke: Then why are you still giving yourself away?
“So what now?” you ask, barely holding it together. “Now you go out there and promise yourself to him? You walk down the aisle with him waiting at the end and not me?”
Each word is a blow, and she takes them all—flinching, silent, her throat working around something she can’t quite say.
“Is this what this is, Lena?”
“I—”
“Speak now or forever hold your peace. We have two minutes until go time. What’s gonna be?”
Your voice cracks on the last line. She looks at you, and there’s something new behind her eyes—something sharp and bright and terrified.
She exhales. And the breath she lets go isn’t a sigh—it’s surrender.
“I can’t do it,” she says, so quietly it doesn’t sound real. “I can’t walk down that aisle. Not when it’s not you.”
You blink once. Twice.
Her fingers tighten around yours, the veil still dangling from your other hand like some ghost of what almost was. She looks at it, then at you, and when she speaks, her voice is steadier this time, threaded with adrenaline and something that sounds dangerously close to resolve.
“Run away with me.”
“Lena, wait—”
“I mean it,” she says, stepping closer, closer, until there’s no air between you at all. “Take me anywhere that isn’t this. Anywhere I don’t have to lie with every step I take.”
The world narrows. Just her face. Her voice. Her hand in yours.
And you don’t think. You just act.
You drop the veil.
You pick her up.
You run.
Through the side door, past startled sisters and an unsuspecting Sam holding Lena's bouquet like a question mark. Down the corridor where laughter echoes in the wrong direction. Out into the sun, where the world still dares to be bright and blooming, unaware of how you're about to destroy this wedding.
You don’t look back.
And Lena laughs—really laughs—and it’s breathless and wild and so full of life it feels like the first time you’ve heard it. You glance down at her, her heels in one hand, the veil flying around you like a flag of rebellion, and she smiles at you like it’s the only thing that’s ever made sense.
You don’t stop running until your lungs burn and your laughters dissolves into gasps. You stop behind a brick wall, out of sight, hearts pounding in sync. The silence after the sprint is loud in your ears—like the world’s holding its breath with you.
She turns to you, flushed and radiant, hair wild, veil long gone. And when her eyes meet yours, everything stills.
You don’t speak. You don’t need to.
You kiss her. Soft. Certain. Not a question, not a maybe—just yes. Just finally.
She melts into it, one hand at your jaw, the other still clutching her shoes like she can’t let go of the ridiculousness of it all.
When she pulls back, her eyes shine. And she nods—smiling, radiant, real. Like someone who finally ran toward the right thing.
“Thank you for saving me,” she whispers. “I think I’ve been waiting for this my whole life.”
And in that moment, you're so glad you finally told the truth.

Hot and Bothered - Supergirl x Male Reader Smut
Smut 💕
Requested: Yes, from Wattpad
Being the boyfriend of the renowned cousin of the Man of Steel had it's perks... And it's downsides.
The relationship for starters was perfect for the two, Y/N couldn't be anymore happier dating Supergirl, the Girl of Steel herself. Y/N had moved into Kara's own apartment in New York since they announced their relationship to their loved ones.
Kal and Kara's friends and many allies were reluctant on the fact she was dating a normal human being, while Kal was supportive and understanding, considering he's engaged with Lois Lane, many others told her the dangers and cautions she must take when dating someone like Y/N, considering he's human and she isn't.
Her adoptive family however were ecstatic to hear she was engaged in a relationship with a boy, they were happy to hear she was doing well for her own and have noted to wanting to meet the boy she fell for, which was kind of the other way around, he fell for her first.
On Y/N's side of things, his family and friends were happy for him, his parents especially, his mother made it known that the girl he was dating had to get passed her first before she was fully accepted in, which took no time in fact when they finally got to meet her, Linda Lee Danvers was her secret identity, they wouldn't be meeting Supergirl, at least not yet.
The perks of being the boyfriend of Supergirl? It's the flights around anywhere and back to their shared home, the feeling of being safe around her, her warming hugs and jolly attitude that brightens up anyone's day. She'd be the one to say something without ever being afraid, once standing up for Y/N against his ex girlfriend who tried to get him sacked from his job, being both Linda and Supergirl to her advantage against his ex, ultimately being successful in defending him.
She's even saved him from a few encounters from bad folk along the way, ever since Linda entered Y/N's life and found out she was Supergirl all along, his life had changed for the better in a way.
But when it comes to it's downsides of dating the Maiden of Might?
There are times she comes back from work either marked with little bruises or cuts at times, let alone her suit being a little torn in certain types of battles, it was a good thing Y/N knew how to sew alongside Kara, the two were great pairs.
Times where she couldn't make it in time for lunch or dinner, either because she was out in deep space, fighting alongside her allies or on her own to deal with matters in her own hands, but Y/N didn't care if she was late or not, as long as she returned to him, it's all that mattered to him, he knew what he was getting himself into when he began dating Kara.
And also... Her vulnerability to Kryptonite, a rock that radiates a radiation that can be deadly or have different effects depending on the color to Kryptonians, especially Kara Zor-El herself. Y/N hadn't known much about it until he saw the green rock he had found laying on the ground begin to make her feel all woozy, dizzy and nauseous during her heroic efforts to stop a rampaging robotic monstrosity in Central Park, it was stated that the monstrosity was powered by green Kryptonite as its power source.
But a new vulnerability had been added to her list of weaknesses... You.
She didn't know why, but the fact was that Y/N made her feel so vulnerable to touch, like all of her strength had been eased in a way, sometimes she felt like her body was on fire typically speaking when she'd feel his touch in certain areas of her body.
It all had built up to the point she couldn't take it anymore, deciding to take it a step further and give herself to him, the two done the deed first in the sky at her request, with her keeping him up with her, before they finished in the bedroom after what seemed to be two hours of love-making... And the two may have broke a sofa during that period of time.
It had been a few weeks since those events, Y/N was currently coming home from work, while Supergirl had arrived back home after a strange encounter while fighting alongside her allies on a mission.
A strange form of Kryptonite that was the color of a periwinkle blue and violet had been found and Kara was exposed to it, upon taking down the threat, she was requested to be checked up upon and whatever the scans showed, it didn't really do much at all to her body, she didn't feel weak or nauseous, she did feel... A little different however after she opted to return home.
And it soon began to show as she was flying back home to New York, the thought of Y/N in her head with dirty thoughts came to mind, she didn't know where they came from, but she began to suddenly feel that way about him, feeling all flustered, bothered and hot even.
Upon returning, she couldn't keep the thoughts contained and immediately went to her shared wardrobe with her boyfriend, and pulled out a spare, unused suit she hasn't even used before, but she only kept it for a "special" occasion, it reminded her of her old blouse outfit, only that it was more revealing than the original. The family House of El crest on the right hand side of her right breast.
Her super hearing kicked in once she heard her boyfriend's voice. "Yeah! Cheers for the lift, mate! See you next week!" he called out to the driver, a work friend of his. He had arrived home earlier than he's supposed to be.
What she didn't know was that her ally, Batgirl aka Barbara Gordon had texted Y/N that Kara was exposed to a new form of Kryptonite earlier before she began flying back to their home, which had made Y/N worried and called to get an early leave, coming up with an excuse that "my girlfriend's fallen ill and has no one to help her", his boss fortunately took the excuse and allowed him go home, being picked up by his work friend who drove him home after.
She quickly put on the short cape that was with her outfit, adjusted the hot pants and boots with heels before she quickly looked at herself in a mirror, whatever her actions were now? It could be the periwinkle Kryptonite causing her to do this, and she knew this, she hadn't felt this hot and bothered like this before.
Her super hearing kicked in again, now overhearing her boyfriend rush up the stairs in quick effort.
"Perfect!" Kara said with a smile on her face, striking a hands to hips pose before driving one of her hands up her bare legs. Turning around to see the back of herself, eyes falling on the yellow S on her cape and then the hot pants where she shook her ass for a second "Now, time to surprise my boyfriend!".
She walked toward and stood just around the corner as soon as she heard the door opening after a minute, in came her boyfriend who closed the door behind him after placing down his bag onto the ground. Kara may work as an on and off actress, Y/N worked as an electrical engineer full-time, only working from Mondays to Thursdays every week.
"Babe! You okay?! Babs messaged about what happened" he called out, worried about her which warmed her heart.
"Oh, I'm okay" she walked past the corner, revealing herself before striking a pose, flicking her cape and hair the next. She watched as her boyfriend's eyes widen after he blinked, his jaw beginning to drop at the sight of his girlfriend in a new-ish suit, one she hadn't used yet...
Until now...
"Hey gorgeous, I've been waiting for you ~" she gave out a flirtatious smirk toward her beloved, who was trying to catch his breath at the unexpected surprise waiting for him through the door.
For a moment, he thought Babs was pulling a prank on him by telling him Kara was affected by the new form of Kryptonite she was exposed to earlier, but there was the note of unidentified effects that Barbara had told him, telling him to be cautious and message back if anything happens, she'd be on her way to give Kara a dose to rid of the effects if it's bad.
"Uh... I-I... Wow" he wasn't sure what to say, a moment to soon, she had already gotten close to him by using super speed, a gentle whoosh blew his hair back as a devious smirk still played across the girl's face.
"You like what you see, baby? ~" she asked him, placing her hands on her breasts half covered by her opened blouse, rubbing and massaging them as Y/N felt himself began to heat up at the sight of his girlfriend in this new-ish look. "I had it sitting around, just for you ~" she teased him by removing the blue fabric for just a moment to show off the rest of her tits, giving him a little wink after before covering them again.
He still wasn't sure what to say, he was worried of course, Kara hadn't acted like this before, usually she'd be cuddly and give him a gentle peck on the cheek and lips, asking about his day at work. "Uh... I, *nervous chuckle*, I'm not even sure what to say. But you were exposed to -"
"Sshh, I know" she placed a finger on his lips, shushing him. "And I feel so fucking good right now" she said with a flirtatious tone, driving her body close to his, licking and kissing his neck right on after while keeping her arms around him. "And I'm so fucking horny for you as well, you're mine, all mine ~♡" she growled, pulling her mouth away from his neck to speak before going back in, giving him a hicky to mark him as hers.
"Ohhh, Kara" her real name spilled out of his mouth as she continued kissing and licking his neck. It was then that Supergirl decided to remove Y/N's work hoodie. He had never seen this side of the blonde superhero before, perhaps the "periwinkle Kryptonite" was making her act like this.
The Girl of Steel then levitated off the ground, carrying Y/N with her before flying him slowly to the door, where he collided his back toward the freshly painted door that had been done a few days ago, the feeling of Kara's lips on his neck began to make him feel flustered as he drove his hand through her golden locks, whereas his other hand was on the back end of Kara's small cape, feeling himself afloat by Kara's strength alone, she was up to his eye level at least.
"Oh, Kara! *effort* Babs mentioned I had to tell her about - *satisfied groan* - the effects on you" he made a shot in the dark, whilst Kara was getting a little rough on his neck, beginning to gently bite it, sealing it with little kisses and a lick before she pulled away to look at him in the eyes.
The look of hunger dawned within her sky blue irises, the pair of eyes that Y/N fell in love with before hand, she bit her lip before drawing herself closer to his lips.
"Later" she told him. "But right now... I'm so fucking hot and bothered, that I want, no, I need you" she growled with a flirtatious tone to her words, before smashing her lips against his to make out with him. "And I'm keeping this on" she mumbled into his lips.
All he could do was accept the fact Kara has complete control over the situation right now, and for one? He could care less, it was rather a stressful day at work today, Y/N sure needs this right now, 'perhaps this form of Kryptonite isn't as bad as I thought it'd be on her after all, still I should be cautious'.
Soon he began making out with her too, accepting his fate and obeying his girlfriend, his hands exploring her body before he drove them down to her bare thighs, moans escaped him and Kara as they continued making out, fighting for dominance with their tongues next.
Her one hand drove down into the pants of her boyfriend, beginning to explore the bump that had began to poke her since pinning him to the door of their shared apartment room, she dreamt one day they could get a house together, perhaps in Chicago or nearby New York, just when the time is right of course, and perhaps get married with him as she always wanted to happen one day, settle down, have a kid or two, live a normal life with her career as Supergirl still going maybe.
But right now? She wants him all to herself, she can't shake the feeling of him out of her mind, not since being exposed to the periwinkle Kryptonite earlier. She hears his satisfied groans of pleasure as she ran circles in his pants, tugging his cock.
A big smirk played across her face as she pulled back to give him some air after making out with him in that given time, still holding up afloat against the door, she takes out her hand from his pants to start removing them from his body, Y/N took this opportunity to kick off his shoes while looking his gorgeous girlfriend in the eyes.
He didn't even need to say that he loved him, the both could say it within their own eyes, Kara was hungry for him, too hungry someone would say but to Y/N? He played along with her antics whether they were her own actions mentally or not.
Supergirl bit her lip down hard as his cock was now out, free from his pants and underwear as they dropped down to the ground, right in front of the door, a smirk still playing across her face as she began to stroke it, tease it even, wanting to hear his moans and groans that turns her on more and more.
"Ah, Kara" his hands went around her back, the soft fabric of her cape resting against his hands as he explored the other bits of fabric that was her blouse. It was then that the Girl of Steel shut up his little moans with a kiss that turned into another make out session, still he moaned within her lips as their tongues danced together.
Her actions wanted to warm up his cock first, before she could get the full thing inserted within her clit, the thought made her all wet and horny just thinking about it. She didn't want to get pregnant, not yet but she wanted all his juices inside her, she took precautions to make sure she doesn't get pregnant by taking a pill that could work on her unlike the other pills provided by human doctors. Thank Kryptonian technology for that.
Y/N had never been one to be dominated before, but with Supergirl pinning him to the wall, making him unable to move and obeying her command? He had to admit that it was hot, being dominated by the Maiden of Might was a thought he never thought would happen. Kara was a mature, confident woman who wasn't afraid to flaunt her sexuality if necessary, but only some people have seen her more optimistic and cheerful side, and Y/N was one of those people, most of her friends have seen that side of her too.
He was lucky to have a woman like her, one that wasn't afraid to defend him, shield him even from any harm, thought at times she also risked her secret identity in doing so, she only did it in the name of love and protection for him.
Kara's hand stroked up and down on his cock, the skin pulling back from the tip as she drew her eyes toward his cock with a smirk after pulling back from his lips to give him a breather, a playful grin played across her lips as her eyes drew up to his.
"You like that? Don't you baby? ~" she said with a flirtatious tone in her voice still, stroking his cock up and down, up and down, picking up with speed over time, she last used her super speed to make him cum the last time they made sexual contact, that was their first time. This time, she wanted to tease his cock, warming it up for her to take in the full thing inside her pussy, she yearned for it. "You like it when I stroke your cock? Up and down, over and over, warming it up for the full course".
He nodded his head in a quick motion, notifying her that he was enjoying the hand job she was giving him. "Mhmmm Kara ~" he moaned out, Kara felt his cock in her warm hand begin to pulsate, which was more than ready for her to take in the full thing now.
An excited smile went across her face, getting all giddy about it. She then took him off the door and flew him toward the bedroom, whilst making out with him in the meantime, stroking his cock slowly as she flew toward their shared king-sized bed through memory alone, she managed to not fly into things like last time.
Soon enough, she dropped her boyfriend on the gentle and soft covers, prompting him to remove his shirt that he still had on his body. Supergirl bit her lip upon seeing his body, though she could literally use her x-ray vision to see his toned body and tight 4-pack abs herself, it drove her mad seeing them while a blush appeared on her cheeks as she smiled excitedly.
The Girl of Steel took off her red hot pants with a slow motion, giving Y/N a little show before throwing them to the side, then removing her panties before again throwing them to the side.
It was a good thing she had a smaller cape with this outfit, Y/N could see the perfect ass of his hot superhero girlfriend, she bent over to shake her ass in the air toward him, giving him a little show as a smile went across his face before she give him a little dance, pushing most of her hair to one side along with the dance.
"God, you're hot as fuck" he mumbled out toward her, making her smirk further with a flirtatious look in her expression upon turning around, facing her boyfriend as she levitated over the bed.
"Lie down" she demanded. Looking down at him with authority.
"Yes ma'am" Y/N did as he was told. His cock pointing right up toward her, giving her the nod to float down onto it.
She moved her legs out of the way in a certain position, kicking up her legs as she began to slowly float on down onto him, gently and slowly sitting onto his cock that was sliding inside of Kara's perfectly shaved pussy.
"Oh good golly, yes! ~" she moaned out with a satisfied tone, his cock slid perfectly in her as she began to ride him, moaning through her closed lips, clenching her jaw as Y/N let out a little moan upon her riding him like a cowgirl.
Kara rocked her head back, moans of pleasure escaping from her throat as her mouth began to open in ecstasy as she bounced on his cock up and down, up and down, over and over again with a slow motion, slamming down on him gently.
Y/N kept up with her bounces, pushing himself up as she bounced down on him gently, her head hung low as a hungry look appeared on her face, filled with a lust for his love making. Her eyes caught onto Y/N's as he groaned in pleasure with a little smile across his face.
"Mmm, fuck ~" he moaned out, Kara slamming down on him continuously as blushes appeared on their faces, their moans and groans lapped with each other as the bed began creaking from the Girl of Steel's efforts on riding his cock and her walls getting tighter each bounce.
Kara's short cape billowed behind her as she bounced up and down on his cock, her bounces getting faster each minute as her moans got louder, rocking her head back again with her mouth agape once more.
Y/N's hands soon began to drive up Kara's thighs before resting near her hips, noticing Kara looking back down at him with a lustrous look upon her face as a hungry smile was at the corner of her lips, driven crazy by his cock inside of her as she bounced up and down more roughly, surprisingly not breaking his femur from the way she bounced on him.
Her hands soon drove up to her breasts, pushing away the blue fabric that covered half of her breasts to begin with, showing her boyfriend her tits once again, now freed from the opened blouse, the entire outfit overall made her made her look extremely more attractive than she already was before.
It was funny... He admitted to having both a crush on Supergirl and Linda at the same time, before he found out both were pretty much the same person months ago before they became boyfriend and girlfriend after a few dates.
"Ohhhh Y/N! ~" Kara moaned loudly after five minutes, her ass bouncing off Y/N's thighs as she squatted on Y/N's cock, with her walls getting tighter still around his manhood. "Ohhh, fuuuck, this feels so fucking good~!" she said aloud after a minute, she couldn't care if any neighbors could hear her moans of pleasure, she wanted his juices up inside her, she also wanted to cum so badly.
Minutes had passed, with Y/N's cock beginning to pulsate within Kara's walls, giving her the notification that he was soon about to finish inside her, while his hands driving up to Kara's tits, massaging them thoroughly. Their moans lapping over each other.
"Fuuck, I'm gonna ~" he said through gritted teeth.
"Let's do it together! ~" she suggested with a loud moan.
Within a minute, Y/N pushed himself upwards as Kara did a few more bounces, moans and groans lapped over each other once again, with her moaning his name loudly while she orgasmed, she felt herself finish and his warm juices shoot up into her pussy.
One final groan escaped Y/N as he continued his orgasm, a sigh of satisfaction soon following upon finishing his orgasm inside of his girlfriend.
Soon enough, Kara crashed down on top of him, her tits and body laying atop of his toned body, his hand driving through Kara's golden locks before the two locked lips together for a deep, passionate kiss, his cock still within her pussy.
"Wow *deep breath*, that felt so good" Kara mumbled out with a satisfied breath, panting just a little while she heard his heartbeat racing. "That Kryptonite sure made me feel that way" she noted to herself loudly before pushing herself up from him, using her hands to stabilize herself atop her boyfriend.
A smile drew across his face with satisfaction, still panting from the love-making. "Hi" he greeted upon seeing her brightened up face.
A huge grin appeared on her lips, looking down at him with love on her mind. "Hi!" she greeted back before smashing her lips against his for another deep kiss, that lasted for just a minute before the blonde pulled back to let him breath, her golden hair tickling his torso right after.
"Do me a favor, Y/N, if you don't mind?".
"Yeah? Anything for you, princess" he smiled.
"Don't tell Babs about this? The uh... Effects that weird Kryptonite had on me" she pleaded, going as far to give him pleading eyes. "Let's keep this between us, yeah?".
"Of course" he said without hesitation, before grabbing her hips. "Round two?" he then suggested with a smirk across his face, ready for more. "Work was stressful today after all, and keep that on, you look fucking hot with that on".
A grin appeared on her face, smashing her lips against his again for the third time in a row, making out with him which was her answer to continue their love making...

✐ Seven Years | Kara Danvers ✎

Pairing: Kara Danvers x reader
Warnings: slight angst
Summary: Seven years is a long time, but you’ve never given up on Kara.
________________________________________________
Seven Years Ago
A knock on my door makes me shoot up in bed. After crash landing on earth with Mon El I’m still getting used to my super hearing.
I rub my eyes and check my phone for the time, frowning when I see it’s two in the morning. I get out of bed and use my x-ray vision to see who’s at the door.
Much to my surprise I realize it’s Kara and the way she holds herself is very unusual. She’s leaned against the doorframe, her hair a mess and her glasses are askew on the bridge of her nose.
“Hey, what are you doing here this late?” I ask when I open the door.
Kara’s head shoots up and her hazy, glassy eyes meet mine. She sways when she pushes herself off the doorframe and when she slurs a, “Heyyy,” I smell alien liquor on her breath.
I sigh and step aside, letting her in wordlessly. This isn’t the first time she’s shown up drunk at my doorstep and I’m pretty sure tonight it’s for the exact same reason as last time.
“What did he do this time?” I say, exasperated as Kara flops down on my couch face first.
Mon El. . .
I love my twin brother, don’t get me wrong, but he can be such a jackass sometimes.
Since he started going out with Kara, he has changed for the better, but sometimes he slips up and that’s when I get involved because not long after waking up here on Earth, Kara’s took an instant liking to me.
Unlike my brother I didn’t break out of the DEO, I didn’t send out a distress call that got me arrested, and I’ve never believed our people’s claims that the Kryptonians were responsible for all our hardships, which meant Kara and I became friends rather quickly.
And as her friend I’m one of the only people she can talk to about Mon El because I know him better than anyone and I’m more often than not the one who talks some sense into him whenever he messes up.
Now, I could say I don’t mind because that’s what friends are for, but I do because I hate how I was too shy to ask her out and when I mentioned it to him, he swooped in and asked her out himself.
It’s like he doesn’t even care about her and only did it to one-up me once again, the same way he’s been doing all his life.
Kara groans and I take a seat beside her head, taking off her glasses so she doesn’t accidentally break them. “He just doesn’t listen!”
Yeah, I’ve heard that one before.
I sigh and scratch at my eyebrow. “Why? What happened?”
I don’t want to know. It makes me furious, seeing how he treats her, but I want to be a good friend, so I’m offering her a shoulder to cry on.
Kara takes a deep breath before sitting up. She looks like a bug wiggling its legs in the air while doing so, but she manages to do it and sinks back into the cushions, her head landing on my shoulder.
It’s a familiar position and even though I know it’s friendly on her part, I can’t help the butterflies that erupt in my stomach every time she’s this close.
She smells like floral perfume and liquor, the latter being a little overwhelming for my sensitive nose, but I couldn’t care less. All that matteres right now is that she’s comfortable and safe.
God, what would the world do if they saw Supergirl in this state? Wasted over a fight with her boyfriend. . .
I shake my head and force myself not to think like that. Kara isn’t just Supergirl; perfect, charming and selfless. She’s also Kara and she, like everyone else, isn’t perfect.
“We were dealing with some bank robbers earlier,” she starts, still slurring her words but sounding more sober than before, “and I told him— I TOLD him— I had it under control, but he swooped in anyway.”
Yup, that sounds like him.
I have the same powers he has, but I don’t want to be a superhero. I just want to live a normal life, just like I’ve always wanted, even back on Daxam, and because I now have the freedom to choose, I choose to work as a manager and barista at Noonan’s. I like connecting with people and the simplicity of the job, which makes it perfect.
From time to time I do help the DEO of course, but only if I really have to. Otherwise I stick to my new, boring life.
I hum in acknowledgment and wait for Kara to continue.
“They got away with the money,” she says, “and I got a slab of concrete hurled at me. . . And then he has the audacity to accuse me of letting them get away, as if I didn’t have to use my body to shield them and prevent him from accidentally killing them with that piece of concrete!”
“I— Wow.” Is all I can manage to say and when I look to my left I’m startled to find Kara looking up at me with big, puppy dog eyes.
“Why can’t he just listen?” she whispers, her eyes darting between mine. “I mean, you listen. You always listen. Why can’t he?”
I swallow thickly and look at my hands in my lap. Mon El and I might be twins, but that’s where the similarities end.
I feel myself getting hot under Kara’s intense stare, so clear my throat and mumble, “I don’t know, Kara. But I’m sorry he’s acting like this.”
I would never do something like that to you.
I don’t say that because we’re just friends and because I’m not going to be the one who ruins their relationship.
Kara sighs and rests her head back on my shoulder, closing her eyes. She wraps her arms around my arm and within seconds her breathing evens out and I know she’s asleep.
Damn you, Mon El . . .
I shift around until I can get out of her embrace, carefully directing her so she’s lying on the couch. I take off her shoes and drape a thin blanket over her, knowing full well that she won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
Now
I cough and blink my eyes open. Everything is white and blurry, so I rub my eyes with my hands.
A familiar face swims in front of me and when I blink a couple of times, it comes into focus.
“Brainy?” I ask, coughing once more. “Are we back in the 31st century?”
He shakes his head and runs a hand through his hair. “No. There have been some. . . complications.”
My eyebrows shoot up and I step out of the cryo-pod. My clothes are sticking to my body and I gladly accept the stack of dry clothes Brainy holds out. “What kind of complications? Where’s Mon El? Is he still asleep?”
Brainy’s eye twitches in a telltale way and he turns around when I start taking off my shirt. “No, he is awake. He is out looking for a power source for the ship.”
I narrow my eyes at the back of his head and finish changing, running a hand through my damp hair. “Where exactly is he? I know there something you’re not telling me, Brainy.”
He peaks over his shoulder to make sure I’m decent before turning back around. “There is nothing I’m not telling you, Y/N.“
I scoff and brush past him to the ships main computer to see what’s going on. Before I can get my hands on the control panel though, he slips in front of me, blocking my view.
“What are you doing?” he asks.
I raise an eyebrow. “What am I doing? What are you doing? Move, please.”
He shakes his head and grimaces. “I can’t do that.”
Frustration bubbles in the pit of my stomach and I clench my jaw so as to not snap at him. “Why not? What is going on?!”
Brainy opens and closes his mouth like a fish out of water, but nothing comes out.
“Brainy, I swear—“
“Y/N.”
I spin around at the familiar voice and glare at my brother who’s dressed in his red Legion suit.
“Mon El.” I acknowledged him with a nod and send Brainy one last glare before asking, “What’s going on? Where are we? Or should I say when are we?”
“It doesn’t matter. I’ve got what we need and we should be back home in no time,” he replies and when my eyes drop to his hands I realize he’s holding a power cell.
Why is no one telling me what is going on?
My frustration turns into anger when Mon El tries to move past me without elaborating, so I grab his arm and yank him back.
“Either you tell me what’s going on right now, or I’m leaving the ship to find out myself!” I seethe through gritted teeth and it fills me with satisfaction to see him flinch ever so slightly.
He quickly reassumes his unfazed demeanor though and calmly replies, “Look, you weren’t supposed to wake up before I got back. We’re not home yet, which is all that matters, but I have what we need to get back, so don’t worry.”
I’m about to lunge at him when Imra boards the ship, also dressed in her Legion suit.
So they were out together. . .
“Mon El, Kara told me—“
She freezes when her eyes land on me and when it registers what she just said my heart drops. I let go of Mon El’s arm and turn to face her with shaking hands. “What did you just say?”
It’s almost a whisper but because it’s dead silent right now, Imra hears me.
“Y/N. You’re awake,” she says carefully, her eyes darting between me and Mon El.
“Yeah, no shit.” I take big step forward so I’m face to face with her, pointing at her chest. “Now tell me. What were you going to say?“
She swallows thickly, looking like a deer caught in headlights and when I don’t back down, her eyes drop to the floor and she mumbles, “Kara wanted me to tell Mon El that Winn managed to locate another power cell, should we need one that is. . .”
My jaw drops and my heart races in my chest. I spin around and stare at Mon El in disbelief.
“Kara?” I croak. “Kara?!“
Mon El sets down the power cell and hols out his hands to calm me down, but I’m way past the point of being calmed down now. “Y/N, please don’t make a big deal out of this. I—“
“No, you don’t get to talk to me like that!” I cried, feeling tears well up in my eyes. “How dare you not tell me we were back?”
His face is contorted into a conflicted grimace, and he tries to come up with an excuse, but I’m not having it.
“You weren’t going to wake me up, were you? You weren’t ever going to tell me about this, were you?” My voice breaks more and more as I continue speaking until I’m a crying mess.
“Y/N. . .” Imra places a hand on my shoulder, but I shrug her off, taking several steps back to glare at all three of my supposed friends.
“No, just stop,” I choke out, wiping at my tears. “I’ve waited, hoped, seven years for this moment, and you weren’t going to say anything.“
I stare at each of them for an explanation, or a reason as to why they weren’t going to tell me, but no one says anything, so I square my shoulders and use my sleeve to tame the never ending stream of tears.
“Wow. So much for family,” I scoff and make my way to the ship’s door. No one dares to stop me and as soon as I step outside, there’s only one thing left on my mind: Finding Kara.
Seven Years Ago
“Here you go.” I smile and hand Maya, one of our regulars, her coffee over the counter. She reciprocates the smile and thanks me before leaving.
I grab the next ticket and look it over, seeing that I only have to make a cappuccino and a hot chocolate.
I get to work, moving flawlessly around the space next to my coworker Conan, only to be pulled to the side when I go out back to grab a new crate of coffee beans.
“Kara, what the hell?” I shriek when I see the blonde grinning at me. She’s wearing her Supergirl suit and her blonde hair looks windswept.
“Hi!”
I push my glasses up the bridge of my nose and set down the coffee beans. “You can’t just sneak up on someone like that. One of these days I’m going to have a heart attack because of you,” I say, my lips twitching when she scratches her neck in embarrassment.
“You’re right I’m sorry,” she says, her smile not faltering, “even though I don’t think you could even have a heart attack if you tried.”
I roll my eyes playfully and pull her into a hug. She laughs and hugs back, and I’m pretty sure if I were human she would have broken my neck by now.
“Don’t get smart with me,” I warn with a chuckle when we pull back and she just smiles, tucking a stand of hair behind her ear. “So, what brings you by? Not my idiot brother again, I hope.”
Kara grimaces and shifts awkwardly. “Actually that’s exactly why I came by.”
I deflate and force myself to ignore the hurt that always claws at my heart when she talks about her relationship with Mon El. “Oh, alright then. What happened?”
For the first time ever, she seems to pick up on my change in mood pertaining this particular topic and she frowns. However, when I raise an eyebrow expectantly she clears her throat and a tentative smile tugs at the corner of her lips. “Well, I. . . I broke up with him.”
My eyes widen and I can’t stop a confused, “Why?” from slipping past my lips.
It was probably not the reaction she was expecting because she falters and starts nervously tugging at her skirt. “I-I just realized we don’t working together and he is just so different and— I thought you’d be happy for me.”
Seeing her pout I’m quick to grab her hands and make her look at me. “No, no, no. I am happy for you. I just— I thought maybe he broke your heart and you were sad about it and— I’m sorry. I’m glad you’re okay, and I’m glad you’re happy. That’s all that matters.”
Uncertainty flits across her face and her blue eyes search my face when she asks, “Really?”
I nod and squeeze her hands with a soft smile. “Really.”
Kara beams the next second and throws her arms around my neck. “You’re the best friend ever. How about we go out and celebrate tonight? I’ll ask Alex, Lena, and Sam to come, too.”
My heart breaks a little at the word friend, but I don’t let it show when I agree. “Sure. Just text me when and where and I’ll be there.”
“Yay!” Kara giggles and pulls back, her face lit up with happiness.
I smile fondly at the sight, feeling my heart flutter before scolding myself.
Stop, she’s your friend. Nothing else.
I sigh and gesture behind me. “I should get back to work.”
“Of course!” Kara’s eyes widen in realization, but she doesn’t lose her smile.
I return a half-hearted smile and get back to work, hearing the whooshing of her taking off just as the door closes behind me.
Since she broke up with Mon El three months ago, Kara has been around even more than before.
She shows up at Noonan’s daily just to chat which has gotten her in trouble with Snapper more often than not, and she spends most nights on my couch, passed out from her Supergirl duties.
Tonight was game night at her place and everyone except me has already left, leaving behind empty beer bottles and candy wrappers.
It was fun and filled with friendly competition, leaving a lingering warm feeling in the pit of my stomach.
I pick up the empty wine glass Lena drank out of and take it to the kitchen along with some empty beer bottles.
“I told you, you don’t have to do that,” Kara says, joining me in the kitchen with the empty popcorn bowl.
I shrug her off and take the bowl from her, placing it in the dishwasher before wiping my hands on my pants. “And I told you, I don’t mind.”
Kara’s blue eyes soften and she crosses her arms, her hands disappearing in the sleeves of her (my) sweatshirt. She borrowed it one night after showing up at my apartment covered in soot and ash, and she hasn’t returned it since.
The longer she watches me, the more nervous I get and I push my glasses up the bridge of my nose. “So, uh— How’s life?” I ask awkwardly which makes Kara chuckle.
She tilts her head adorably and smiles. “I can’t complain. How about you? How’s Maya?”
I cringe inwardly at the mention of Maya and shake my head with a soft laugh. We went on one date a couple of weeks ago because she asked me out, but I’m too hung up on the blonde in front of me, so I let Maya down gently.
Weirdly enough, Kara hasn’t stopped pestering me about it even though I keep telling her that there’s nothing going on between Maya and I.
“She’s fine I think. I told you I haven’t spoken to her since our date,” I say, drawing shapes on the counter next to me.
Kara raises an eyebrow and her eyes hold something I can’t quite place. “Well, is there someone else then?”
It’s a little weird how interested she is in my love life lately, but I try not to read too much into it.
“No,” I say quietly and Kara uncrosses her arms with a satisfied smile.
“Good. I don’t like sharing my best friend,” she says, placing a hand on my chest.
I swallow thickly and bite the inside of my cheek. “Yup.”
Kara squeezes my shoulder and moves past me, getting comfortable on the couch and looking at me expectantly when I don’t follow.
We usually watch a movie together after everyone’s already gone, but I don’t feel like staying tonight because it just hit me that she’ll never see me as anything other than a friend.
After she broke up with Mon El I thought I might get my chance with her after all, but now I know that that won’t be the case and all I want to do is go home and wallow in self pity.
“Actually, I think I’m going to head home, too,” I mumble, looking down as I drag myself to the door to put on my shoes and jacket.
Kara jumps off the couch and hurries toward me. “What? Why?”
I sigh and glance at her, seeing the confusion and hurt on her face.
“I’m pretty tired and I have an early shift tomorrow morning,” I say, pushing my glasses up the bridge of my nose again.
“O-Okay,” Kara stutters and I only hug her briefly before leaving, ignoring the way her eyes burn into the back of my head as I step into the elevator.
Now
I fly over National City, admiring the twinkling lights in the dark of the night as I make my way to a familiar apartment.
It’s cold and a few snowflakes land and melt on my face as I continue flying, but I ignore them and close my eyes briefly, taking a deep breath of fresh air.
The last time I was here, my lung felt like it was on fire but since being cured of my lead allergy in the 31st century, that is no longer an issue.
I descend slowly when I get close to my destination, feeling nervousness rise up in the pit of my stomach.
What if she doesn’t want to see me? What if she moved on? I mean, it’s been seven years. . .
Seven Years Ago
“What are we going to do?” Kara asks desperately, pacing back and forth.
We’re at the DEO, trying to figure out what to do about my mother’s attempt at invading the planet.
Alex looks to be deep in thought and Winn and Lena are talking in hushed voices a few steps away.
“Well, we could always use the device Lillian—“
Alex gets cut off immediately by Kara starting her down. “Absolutely not. We have to think of something else.”
I frown and glance at Clark who’s silently watching the whole scene unfold next to a defeated looking Mon El.
“What device?” I ask and when Alex and Kara go on bickering I ask again, this time louder and a little more aggressive. “What device?!”
No one says anything for a second but then Winn clears his throat and steps forward. “Lena and Lilian came up with a fail safe device that releases trace amounts of lead into the atmosphere when activated.”
I regret asking and immediately know why Kara doesn’t want to use it. It wouldn’t only force my mother and all the other Daxamites to leave, but also Mon El and me.
“I’m going to fight Rhea, and I’m going to win. There’s no other option. We’re not going to use that thing.” Kara states with a huff and it seems as though a decision has been made, but before anyone can leave I step forward with squared shoulders.
“No, you are not fighting our poor excuse of a mother,” I say calmly. “We are using the device. No one else has to get hurt and if it means Mon El and I have to leave as well, then so be it. Right?”
I look at Mon El and despite not seeing eye to eye on most things, he agrees with me and nods solemnly.
Kara whips around and glares at me. “We can’t just—“
“Yes you can,” I interrupt, turning to Alex before Kara can say anything else. “Get the device ready. Mon El and I will get our affairs in order and return to the DEO as soon as possible. You said Kara’s spaceship is still in working order, right? We’ll use it to get off Earth as soon as the lead is released.”
Alex pulls me in for a hug and lets out a shuddering breath but agrees to the plan and orders Winn and Lena to finish making the distributor.
Clark regards me with reverence and bows slightly, leaving shortly after to help in the ongoing fight against the invasion.
Mon El leaves too, shaking Alex’s hand and hugging Kara briefly, leaving me behind with the two sisters.
“I can’t believe you just did that!” Kara seethes, jabbing me in the chest with her finger. “I can fight Rhea. I can win!”
“No!” I argue, shoving her hand away and taking a step back. “You can’t win. My mother fights dirty and you will lose and I won’t let that happen. Not when there’s something I can do about it.”
Alex watched us with an uncomfortable look on her face before deciding she’s seen enough. She wordlessly slips out of the room and makes sure the door is properly shut behind her.
“Well, I’m not going to let you jet off into space with nowhere to go. You will die out there!” Kara spits through gritted teeth, the vein on her forehead pulsing dangerously.
“You don’t know that! But I know that you will get hurt if you fight my mother!” I shout and it makes her flinch because I’ve never raised my voice at her.
“But I can try! Why won’t you just let me do this?”
“Because I love you!”
I slap my hand over my mouth and watch as Kara’s eyes widen.
Well, I guess it’s out there now. . .
I sigh and take off my glasses, folding them before sliding them into my pocket.
“I love you, Kara, and not in a best friend kind of way. I won’t let you get hurt.”
Kara gapes at me and when she doesn’t say anything I clench my jaw and brush past her. “Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go home and get my affairs in order. There’s not much time left.”
Hurt claws at my throat when I leave the stunned superhero behind and I don’t try to stop the oncoming wave of tears.
I knew she didn’t think of me as more than a friend, but her blatant rejection of my feelings just now hurts more than anything I’ve ever felt before.
There’s not much I have to do when I get home because there isn’t much I can take with me, but I do sign the lease of the apartment over to my coworker Conan. He’s been looking for a new place to stay for a couple of months now and the apartment is payed off until the end of the year.
I also sign a resignation letter for work and put it on the kitchen counter next to my spare set of keys.
I’m just about to take some of the picture frames off the wall when I notice a nearing, familiar heartbeat.
I turn around just in time to see Kara coming in through the window with tears streaming down her face.
“What—“
I get cut off by a pair of lips on my own and my eyes widen before slamming shut.
Kara’s desperately pulling me closer by the back of my neck and I have to place my hands on her hips to stop myself from toppling into her.
She kissed me passionately and frantically, and I wince when I taste her salty tears.
I push at her hips, effectively breaking the kiss and stare at her questioningly. “What are you doing, Kara?”
I can’t let her play with my heart. Not now when I’m about to leave.
Another tear makes its way down her cheek and I fight the urge to wipe it away. She looks utterly hopeless and broken and when she whispers, “I love you, too’” the world stops spinning for a moment.
“It’s why I broke up with Mon El in the first place. You get me like no one else does. You listen to what I say and you’re kind, and modest, and your soul is beautiful. I can’t just let you leave. I-I want to go on dates with you. I want to hold your hand and wake up next to you. I want to make you breakfast in bed and kiss you until you’re breathless. Please don’t leave. Please. . .”
I feel my bottom lip tremble and squeeze my eyes shut. That is what I’ve wanted to hear for so long, and it’s so unfair that it’s just a little too late now.
“Kara, I can’t,” I whisper, opening my eyes again to find her blue eyes already on me.
She whimpers and surges forward, capturing my lips in another heated kiss.
I don’t fight her at all, pulling her closer by her waist until there’s virtually no space left between us.
Her lips are soft and warm, even though they’re moving against mine quite aggressively, and I sigh against her mouth when she buries her fingers in my hair and tugs me even closer.
I could get lost in this kiss and if it weren’t for the sudden burning sensation in my lungs I probably would have.
My grip on her waist involuntarily tightens and I pull back to double over and cough violently. It feels like I’m breathing fire and my throat closes, making me wheeze.
They released the lead.
I look up with tears in my eyes to find Kara watching me in horror.
“No, please. Not now,” she says, desperately cupping my cheeks.
She raises a hand to the comms device in her ear and frantically says something to the person on the other end. I’m assuming it’s Alex, but I can’t focus on what’s being said because the next time I cough, I’m coughing up blood.
It runs down the side of my mouth and I’m suddenly too weak to wipe it away, so Kara does it with alarm written all over her face.
She grabs me around the waist and hoists me over her shoulder, dashing out of the window within the blink of an eye.
The position is a little awkward and uncomfortable but I can’t focus on anything other than trying to get enough air in my lungs.
When we touch down on a field in the middle of nowhere, I see Mon El is already there, waiting and coughing next to Kara’s spaceship.
Kara sets me down gently and cups my cheeks again. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
I shake my head and press a kiss to the inside of one of her wrists, my hands landing on her hips as I sway dangerously on my feet.
I’m too weak to say anything so I just smile weakly, hoping it’s enough to show her that I’m not mad.
“I love you,” she chokes out, pulling out a necklace from beneath her suit. I realize it’s her mother’s and I try to pull away when she presses it into one of my hands. I can’t take something so valuable from her, but she just nods her head adamantly and pleads, “Take this. . . take this, please. It will keep you safe.”
I give in and cough again, holding my breath when she presses her lips against mine one last time.
When she pulls back and pushes me toward the ship, her face is twisted in agony and I know there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for her not to feel this way.
But there’s nothing I can do, so I get into the ship behind Mon El, clutching her necklace against my chest as the hood materializes above us and we start to ascend.
I mouth I love you, and watch her shrinking figure through the glass. She waves goodbye and I almost break down completely at the sight of her watery smile.
Now
I land on Kara’s balcony, suddenly no longer sure about whether or not I want to do this, but then I see her through the window.
She’s curled up on the couch with a thin blue blanket draped over her. The TV is off and she’s not on her phone either, making me frown and wonder what she’s doing but then I see her wiping her cheek with the back of her hand.
My heart drops at the sight of her looking so dejected and I step forward without thinking and knock on the door.
She freezes for a second before slowly looking up. Her eyes widen when the land on me and she stumbles to her feet, almost tripping over the blanket in her haste to get to the door.
She flings it open, breathing heavily and staring at me with her bloodshot eyes.
“Hey,” I whisper softly and it takes only a couple of seconds for her to throw her arms around my neck and sob into my shoulder.
For the first time in seven years it feels like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I wrap my arms around her waist and pull her infinitely closer.
The familiar smell of her vanilla shampoo makes my own eyes sting and I choke out a sob.
“You’re here,” she says against my skin, refusing to let go. “I don’t understand. Mon El said you stayed in the future.”
I want to be angry at that revelation, but I just can’t be when I have her in my arms. I press a kiss to her temple and let my lips linger for a moment. “No, I’m here. I’m right here, and I’m not going anywhere ever again.”
Kara’s arms around me tighten and I bend down to pick her up by the back of her legs, carrying her inside.
She wraps her legs around my waist as I close the door behind us, and breathes heavily against my neck.
I move toward the couch and sit down, holding her in my lap as she continues to cling to me.
We stay like that until her sobs die down and she pulls back to look me in the eyes. Her hands cup my cheeks and she traces her thumbs over my cheekbones.
“I love you,” she croaks and I let out a shaky breath, pressing my forehead against hers.
My hands find their way to her hips and I squeeze carefully, whispering, “I love you, too.”
Kara brushes her nose against mine and pecks my lips tentatively. It sends sparks through my body and I respond immediately and move forward for more.
She hums, satisfied, and deepens the kiss by tugging at my bottom lip with her teeth. I gasp in surprise and she uses the opportunity to slip her tongue past my lips and brush it against my own.
It’s a feeling I’ve been craving since she kissed me for the first time and I haven’t stopped thinking about it for the past seven years.
Much too soon for my liking, Kara pulls back. She rests her hands on my chest and traces her index finger along the chain of the necklace she gave me. “Listen, I know it’s been seven years for you, but you have to know that it’s only been seven months for me since you left,” she reveals quietly and I feel my stomach drop when she adds, “So, you know, I get it if you’ve moved on. I mean, Mon El got married, so surely you—“
I cut her off with a soft kiss, letting my lips trail over her cheek and jaw before they land on her neck.
I nip slightly at her sensitive skin, drawing a barely audible moan from her before pulling back completely to meet her eyes.
“I would wait a lifetime if it meant I got to see you again,” I admit, my eyes darting between hers. Then to lighten the mood, I joke, “But I sure hope you haven’t moved on yet because if you have you’re going to be in quite a bit of trouble.”
The smile that lights up her face makes my heart flutter and she quickly shakes her head, denying that she’s seeing anyone.
“I haven’t gotten over you since you left and I honestly don’t know if I ever would have, but that doesn’t matter anymore. You’re here now and I’m not letting you go again.” She whispers that last part and closes the distance between us again to press a kiss to my neck right below my ear.
It makes me shudder and when she smiles against my skin, knowing exactly the effect she has on me, I pinch her side playfully.
She giggles and trails kisses up the side of my face, all the way across my forehead and down my nose until her lips land on mine in a short peck.
“So, what now? What’s going to happen to you and the Legion?” she asks, finding my hand to play with the Legion ring.
I shrug and trace patterns on her lower back with my unoccupied hand. “I will have some words with Mon El and the others about not waking me up, but I can promise you that I’m not going anywhere anytime soon. You’re stuck with me now.”
Kara laughs softly and squeezes my hand, wiggling forward on my lap so she can rest against my chest, her head tucked into the crook of my neck. “Good because I really want to go on dates with you and make you breakfast in bed.”
I smile and kiss the top of her head. “I can’t wait.”

Imagine your comfort character saying this to you:
"No no, no more tears, I'm right here; but, you need to understand that you're dreaming. When you wake up, I won't be here anymore. You will have to learn to live your life without me, but until then *shakey breath* will you sit with me a while longer?"

One shot | Supergirl Masterlist | Masterlists

Fandom: Supergirl
Pairing: Kara Danvers x fem!Reader
Genre: Smut
Words: 2.9k+
Warnings: 18+, minors DNI, jealousy, fingering, semi-public sex
Summary: Attending an event with Kara seemed a good idea. It had never been an issue in the past, but when she returns from mingling to find you enjoying the company of another guest, things take an interesting turn.
A/n: I want to say that I've thoroughly proofread this, but I cannot because I am lazy and also not motivated enough to do that :)
Kara didn't want to leave you. On the drive over to the reporter's gala, you'd heard her say just that, even if you were the slightest bit distracted by how her muscles bulged under the sleeves of her blazer.
She knew you were no social butterfly and had sworn to stay by your side when you needed a breather from small talk and scheming questions—a hero even when she shed her cape. You'd tried to reason with her, explain you were not a child, that you'd be fine alone. Alas, it proved useless. She wasn't having it.
However, that was the drive over when Kara had yet to be faced with renowned reporters, endless opportunities for stories and the chance to fill a whole page, front and back, with media contacts. So, when the time came, you were proud to admit you succeeded in swaying your girlfriend to do all the things you knew she was most looking forward to with a "Please don't let me stop you. I had been wanting to check out the bar anyway."
You did receive a dejected look from Kara as she was dragged away, one that reminded you of a little lost pup. That wasn't entirely a pleasant sight, but when you arrived at a too-tall bar stool and peeked over your shoulder, you were happy to note Kara was lost in conversation. The twinkle in her eyes she only got when intrigue grew and questions were formed was bright as ever. She was utterly consumed. It was a happy sight. A sight that, mixed with alcohol, made your chest flush a little too hot for liking.
Time ticked by, and for a while, it was okay. You watched Kara move around, go from person to person, nursing your drink between glances and taking in the room decor. The thought of joining her did cross your mind but was quickly stored away when you realised how hard it would be to reach the blonde across the ocean of bodies. Better to sit tight and save yourself the trouble.
Then, seemingly out of nowhere, the event hall grew too loud. Not loud from rowdy patrons or blasting music. The accumulation of too many polite voices and clattering sounds combined to form a monotonous hum was what was beginning to drive you crazy. You waited. And you waited. And you waited some more. You waited for as long as you could, feeling more and more how your cheeks began to burn until it got a little too much, and you found your way outside to the stone stairs of the grand entrance, heart beating a little too fast for your liking.
That was where Kara found you. She'd wrapped up her conversations as fast as possible, asking and answering rapid-fire questions, absorbing every bit of knowledge offered while keeping track of the time. It couldn't be helped that now and again, she lost herself in stories that she imagined would one day be hers. She knew you'd understand. But then, too much time had passed, and she knew it as she hurried over to the bar, already panicked about how best to apologise for leaving you alone for so long.
By the time she did find you, after discovering the bar vacant, her worries were gone, and Kara was joyous to finally be so close to you again that she could smell your perfume. The stories she'd heard were waiting on the tip of her tongue to be regurgitated, along with an apology kiss, which she had decided was the foolproof option on the walk over. However, when she turned a corner and finally saw your unmistakable figure, she did not expect to find you with company. More so, she did not expect a pristine blazer that was not hers to be wrapped around you, keeping you warm from the evening's light breeze.
Watching from a close distance, Kara could see it. She could hear it pierce her ears—the bitter sound of laughter. You were smiling, listening attentively to what this random woman spewed at you, and it drove Kara crazy, filled her veins with fire, and turned her knuckles white. She hated this part of herself, the wiry-clawed green-eyed monster that came out so often around you. She'd been pushing it down all evening, all week, hell, your whole relationship, whenever she saw someone's eyes linger on your figure too long. But this, whatever was happening between you and this woman, was, for some reason, Kara's last straw.
"It's freezing." She strode over, steps heavy, tone sharp as she announced her presence.
It was, in fact, not freezing, and you were about to mention that as you turned to greet Kara, but the second you saw her stony expression, you decided otherwise.
"Kara, it's so nice to finally meet you," the woman beside you said, extending her arm to the blonde with a warm, charismatic smile. "Andrea."
The reporter outright ignored the greeting, stared at Andrea with flared nostrils and then back to you, her eyes softening only a smidge. You hated to say it, even if it was just to yourself, but something about seeing Kara this way deeply affected you. Of course, you loved sweet Kara, the Kara that would never be able not to help, the Kara that left a trail of sunshine behind her as she walked, the Kara that giggled at double entendres, and that's what she said jokes. But this Kara, fierce, protective and territorial Kara, the Kara that would crack someone's neck if they looked at you the wrong way, throw them over the side of a building if they even thought to touch you, drove you mad with undying lust.
"Why are you out here?" your girlfriend asked, snapping you out of your daze. Her eyes grew smaller, and her lips thinned as she stared at the blazer still around your shoulders.
Sensing her hostility and heavy eyes, you got the hint. Well, it was less of a hint than a blaring alarm. Nonetheless, you understood. "I got a bit hot inside, that's all," you calmly answered, beginning to shrug off the satin jacket that seemed to be Kara's new adversary lest she burn a hole right through it.
"Nice seeing you, Andrea," Kara said dryly, sporting a sarky smile as she took the blazer off your shoulder and handed it back. "I'll be taking my girlfriend inside now."
With an arm hooked around your waist, you were ushered inside, unsure what the hell had just happened until it was too late to turn around and apologise for Kara's out-of-character behaviour.
"Did you have to be so rude?" you whispered. "She was only being nice."
Kara was indifferent, her face expressionless. "I thought you didn't want to socialise," she finally said, manoeuvring past groups of chattering clusters.
"She approached me. It would have been rude to ignore her," you tried to reason.
"The blazer?" Kara countered, nails digging into you so hard you felt them pierce the silk material of your dress, forcing you to choke down a whimper.
There were so many things you could have said, so many things you should have said. You could have given Kara one of the many valid reasons you had at your disposal. But no, you did nothing of the sort. Seeing Kara this pissed off, even if she was trying to hide the true extent of it, was absolutely divine, and you wanted it to last.
Leaning over to her ear, keeping up with her quick pace on your tippy toes, you sultrily whispered, "I was chilly, and she offered to keep warm."
Kara halted, standing stark still in the middle of a desolate hallway. You saw her jaw lock, the way her veins in her neck bulged. Her eyes, shining a scorching shade of blue, looked off into the distance, and that was when Kara truly lost herself to silent rage.
When her feet started moving again, no words were spoken. She only pushed you down the corridor and then to the left, each step growing more daunting as the woman beside you remained stoic. You started to consider that perhaps you had gone too far.
"Kara, I-" you tried but were cut off by the force of Kara roughly shoving you inside a side room. With no warning, your body was slammed against the back of the door, forcing it shut with a bang that echoed in your ears, its remnants reduced to a faint buzz.
Kara had kept her hands on your waist, body a safe distance away as her azure eyes roamed your face in rapid intervals, eventually landing on your lips.
"Do you need a reminder?" she snapped.
Fidgeting and momentarily adverse to maintaining eye contact, you looked around at the collection of coats, studying all the colours, all the various items poking out of pockets, and the occasional umbrella brought in by the wary, inherently failing to answer Kara's vague question.
The quiet grew to be biting; its teeth gnawed away at your confidence until breathing became almost impossible. Thankfully, the room itself was chilled, air circulating well enough to ensure that dust particles and the distinct smell of dampness would not stick to the fabric. Only two windows painted the room, both of which were located to your right, one jammed shut with rust and debris, the other slightly ajar. And as grating seconds passed like hours, and eyes locked onto you, hot breath rained down on you, the timid breeze that began to sweep in through the small crack of that old window became your new best friend.
You focused on it as you looked to the floor and watched your toes curl. You heard its high-pitched whistles alongside the squeaking leather of your shoes, and you felt its light fingers caress your flushed cheeks just enough to dull your panic to a manageable seven.
Of course, this did not last long. Your senses eventually found you, and you remembered the lingering question dancing in the air and the unhappy blonde who deserved an apology. But it was too late. For the second time that evening, you concluded that you'd pushed your girlfriend too far.
Your punishment was a hand coiling around your throat, calloused fingers threatening to mark you with blotchy bruises but not daring to squeeze hard enough to hurt. Beneath the firm grip, you closed your eyes, frustrated with how painstakingly annoying it was to have something so wrong feel so good. So fucking good you were struggling to hold in a moan.
"Do you need a reminder that you're mine?" Kara calmly asked, fractionally squeezing just that little bit tighter to force out a strained whimper. Her pupils were blown wide, dark whirls of something foreign polluting the bright shine of her irises.
Distant music seeped in, filling the silence between rapid breaths. Eyes sharpened their focus on one another, studying the new hues of lust, committing the new palettes to memory for lonely nights. Then came the slip—your submission offered with one last shuddering breath and the slow close of your eyelids, and Kara, sharp as a whistle, acted accordingly. Her lips, soft yet bruising, devoured you at a moment's notice, pulling you in with deceiving memories and false promises, only to demolish them with biting nips and trailing scratches. She tasted of pure possession, each slide of her tongue more demanding than the last.
She wanted control, and you happily gave it over.
Kara pulled back, beginning to plant kisses from your mouth down to your neck. She drew you into her mouth, sucking hard enough to have surely left a mark, and you'd have cared if it weren't for the svelte fingers shamelessly working under your dress, rising to the juncture between your thighs to tease your clothed cunt with light touches.
There was no remorse when your shivers were felt, when your pitiful rendition of a beg was heard or when your hips started to grind down in desperation. The reporter was hell-bent on prolonging the torture.
Hand on the underside of your knee, Kara encouraged you to wrap a leg around her waist. She hauled it up as if it weighed nothing and held it in place, momentarily allowing you to find some needed friction along the column of her toned stomach. It was then you realised why Kara wanted you to have some leverage. Savagely, your underwear was torn, fabric protesting louder than you did in fear you'd anger your tyrant and be deemed unworthy of her illustrious treatment.
"I want them to hear you," Kara drawled, dipping the tip of her finger inside you. "Hear that you belong to me."
Instructions clear, she thrust three fingers into your welcoming pussy and began fucking into you at an unforgiving pace. There were no words to describe the ecstasy that was being stretched so abruptly it almost hurt, so you settled for a silent cry instead, gripping onto muscled shoulders for leverage.
It stung when Kara pushed harder and moved faster, but the tendrils of pleasure did not lessen, circulating through your body and bubbling in your stomach, so you endured.
Your moans were carrying, spilling out of the room to ricochet and bounce around the high-panelled ceiling and walls of the corridor. The occasional gasp that did reach your ears left you desperately wanting to be ashamed, to do the sensible thing and tell Kara to stop. The embarrassment of exiting the cloakroom and coming face-to-face with the many people who knew exactly what had happened was enough for you to listen to your rational mind. But what remained stronger was the need to chase your impending orgasm.
That's what made forgetting so easy—the vehement need for ownership being met, even if it was being done in such a precarious place. It's probably why you didn't stop the following words from coming out of your mouth.
"Yours." You wanted her to know. Hell, you wanted everyone to know. So you kept saying it, over and over, louder and louder. "Yours yours, yours, only yours."
All you could do was continue to pull Kara in, clenching around her fingers, and beg her to go impossibly deeper with the firm grip of your leg and crackling cries. Soon enough, there was no need for Kara to hold you close; you were stuck to her like glue, and the blonde chose to take full advantage.
Her hand lay flat on the wall to gain some leverage, her fingers starting to move so fast they felt like they were vibrating. Soft kisses along your throat became harsh, teeth latching onto skin repeatedly, mercy momentarily shown with soothing slides of a slickened tongue. In the back of your mind, you knew what was happening. The reporter was marking you as hers, and when you left that tiny room, there would be no mistaking it. In the upcoming days, she wanted you to see the bruises staring back at you in the mirror, a warning for you never to forget. Hers.
"Mine," Kara growled, her voice raspy.
Your chest was rising and falling alarmingly, your breath short, and your lungs exerted. Everything was moving so fast you scarcely noticed Kara place her thumb over your clit till it was too late, and all that was left to do was gasp so heavily your lungs felt like they may burst.
With the duel stimulation came the lack of awareness, and it seemed, even for Kara, your volume was rising to a level that would amass too much attention. Her lips found yours, and muffling your cries, she drove her tongue into your mouth.
Her thumb continually ran in circles, each drawing you closer. Your stomach was so tense it felt painful. Still, the persistent waves of satisfaction were worth the strain, and unsurprisingly, in little to no time, you felt the inevitable crest of your orgasm, releasing an open-mouthed gasp against velvet lips.
You came with a silent cry, your head thrown back and slamming against the wall, forcing Kara to separate her lips from yours. She watched you fall apart in awe, milking you for you had till you were shaking so badly you could scarcely hold yourself up.
"Keep holding onto me," she whispered, and you obeyed, wrapping your hands around her neck, breathing heavily and dropping your head to her shoulder. With a delicate kiss on your temple, Kara slowed her fingers down to languish thrusts and placed her hand over your ass, taking the majority of your weight. "I've got you."
Assured there was no chance you would collapse, Kara kept going, continually pulling meek whimpers from you with every curl of her fingers. It felt like your orgasm was never-ending, waves of full-bodied pleasure rippling through your system over and over, burrowing into your skin till it felt like you were on fire. Finally, when a grimace replaced the gratified smile you wore and your moans began to sound more wounded, she stilled, slowly withdrawing from you.
Weakly looking up, you watched Kara bring her fingers into her mouth and sample your unique taste. Her eyes fluttered shut as the familiar tangy nectar coated her tongue, and a satisfied hum vibrated in her throat.
Head falling forward, knees still shaky, mind certain, you whispered the only thing that seemed to be running through your head, "Yours."
Lips to your temple, Kara happily muffled her confirmation, "Mine."

Granted wish
Kara Danvers x gn!reader
Summary: You have an obsession with Kara's thighs, you're looking at them and touching them whenever possible. So she decides to give you what you desire the most
Warnings: (+18), bottom! Kara, top! reader, grinding, thigh riding, fingering, praise kink, face sitting
Word count: 4.2K
A/N: I wrote this like a year ago and just realized I forgot to post it
-
-
You love your girlfriend, you love everything about her.
You love Kara Danvers, the way she has a jumper and a blouse for every existing color, the passion she puts into writing every single story not matter how insignificant it may look to everyone else.
You love Supergirl, how she throws herself straight into danger to protect anyone and how she's not intimidated by anyone.
And of course, you love her body. From her soft long hair to her sweet lips that always taste like sugar; from her warm hands that intertwine perfectly with yours to those big blue eyes that always have your attention.
But if anyone ever asked you, your favorite part about your girlfriend are probably her thighs.
The skin is so soft yet literally impenetrable, and they're so deliciously full to the touch. The knowledge that she could potentially strangle you with those just added to their beauty.
- - - -
"Have you seen my cape?" Kara asked as she paced around the small apartment, the red cloth the only thing missing from her suit.
You were sitting at the kitchen counter, preparing breakfast for the two of you, or just for you now, noticing the way she was dressed.
"Lost your cape?" you repeated, but to be honest you were only half listening. She was starting to lose her patience, looking under the couch and under every surface, the movement bringing up her skirt every single time, revealing way more than you were able to see when your vision was blocked by that annoying red wall.
"Y/N!" she yelled and crossed her arms, well aware your gaze was way lower than it should.
"I don't know, check out on the balcony, last time you wore it was raining so maybe you left there" you shrugged, taking a bite out of your toast.
You enjoyed the view as she walked away.
- - - -
"if anyone has any questions, now it's time to ask them"
No one raised their hand at John's warning, and he went on with the briefing.
A couple of new agents had been caught doing 'inappropriate behaviours' as the captain described it, during a mission, so now he and Alex had requested a meeting to remind everyone the importance of this job and how a simple error could cost a lot blah blah blah.
You knew that you, and Kara for that matter, were just here so people would take this more seriously, but that didn't mean this wasn't the most boring and unnecessarily long meeting you have ever attended.
Leaning back in your chair, your gaze fell on your girlfriend seated next to you, so focused on listening to whatever her sister was saying.
You lowered your head to try and hide a big yawn, your eyes following Kara's body, finding her legs crossed under the table. The skirt folded on itself a little, and the position squished them together, making them look even bigger.
Approaching the table you got even closer to the super, so that your knee was touching hers, and put your hand on her thigh.
Kara threw a glance at your hand, then at your eyes, that were now intent on looking forward. The table made it possible so that no one was able to see what was happening underneath, so she let it go. If that got you to stop yawning and begging her to just go away then she'd allow it.
But as you started to slowly rub your thumb on her skin, she started thinking that maybe sneaking away wasn't such a bad idea.
- - - -
You woke up to the feeling of warm covers being roughly ripped from your body, making you groan out loud.
"it's the third time I tell you to wake up Y/N, I don't want to be late"
You hid your face in the pillow, trying to drown out the light. But the pillow too, was ripped away from your hold.
"come on, what do you want to get up?" You opened one eye to find Kara kneeling in front of your face, pillow still in hand, and an annoyed expression on her face.
From the proximity of your bodies, all you needed to do was stretch your neck and you could kiss her exposed legs.
So you did.
When you opened your eyes her expression had turned from annoyed to surprised, blush on her cheeks.
So you kissed it again, and again, slowly reaching the hem of her shorts. When you felt a hand through your hair you knew you had won.
You were indeed very late to brunch with Alex and Maggie that day.

"how was patrol sweetie?" you didn't need to raise your head from your spot on the couch, the wind suddenly hitting your body was enough of a comfirmation that Kara was here "you're back early"
"yea it was just a couple of kids acting carelessly, nothing big" Kara shrugged, closing the window she flew in behind her "how's work?"
now it was your time to shrug, your eyes still had to land on your girlfriend, busy looking at the computer on your lap "good, shouldn't take long to finish"
"oh so you can finish later?" you missed the way her eyes shone for a second
"yea but I'd rather be done with it now that I'm focused" There is no response from the blonde, so you raise your head to look at her. "do you need something?"
You noticed how she was still standing near the window with her hands behind her back, slightly swaying side to side.
"I just thought we could spend some time together, we've been so busy lately" her sweet tone was matched by your smile, before you lowered your head back to your work.
"give me half an hour baby, you can shower in the meantime" you offered, and faintly heard the sound of her heels tapping the ground, and assumed she was headed to the bathroom.
But then she spoke again, and her voice was louder than before.
"mhh I don't think I want to wait tho"
Blonde hair blocked your vision, and your lap felt empty for a second, until there was a lot more weight on top of it.
"I want to be with you now" your laptop was now on the coffee table, while Kara sat on your lap with her legs on either side of yours. She chuckled at your surprised expression but you recovered soon enough, rubbing the soft skin of her thighs with your thumbs.
You still hadn't caugth on her intentions, so when she leaned closer and started kissing you, you just let her. You'd never reject her lips, the soft texture always welcome on your mouth and on other parts of your body, and the sweet taste always appreciated on your tongue. The hands that were previously on your shoulders made their way down to rest on your chest, slowly pushing you back to lean on the back of the couch.
Kara smiled when you had to part your lips in surprise to the feeling of her lightly grinding into your lap.
But she didn't stop.
Instead, she sat down directly on yout hips so her chest was pressing against yours, and you were able to feel every little movement. Your hands went to grip her waist, your work long forgotten on her coffe table as your eyes carefully opened to look at her blue ones, a couple shades darker than usual, definitely not because of the lack of lightning.
"what, what are you doing?"
Sex was nothing new in your relationship, of course, but Kara was never one to initiate it so...blatantly. There was usually much more foreplay.
She straightened her position, and smiled at you so innocently you thought you were going to melt. She tilted her head ever so slightly to the side as her hand went to cup your cheek.
"I told you I wanted to be with you"
Kara's skin was never cold, but she could feel a stark difference in your temperature, your whole body on fire. And when she guided your hands back on her thighs and squeezed, it only got worse. She definetly knew what she was doing.
At that, you quickly reconnected your lips with much more fervor than before. Kara gratefully accepted your pace and gripped the back on your neck, careful not hurt you.
She let out a surprised moan when your fingertips brushed under her skirt, and you used it as an opportunity to slip your tongue past her lips.
As you took complete control over the kiss, she felt any trace of confidence crumble away, her plan of teasing you about your obsession being swiftly replaced by thoughts of your hands and mouth on her, only needing to be touched.
Only needing to be satisfied.
You moved your head down to connect your mouth to her jaw, blonde hair tickling the bridge of your nose. Her skin was way too hard for you to even think about leaving hickeys, but that never stopped you from trying.
You bit down hard on the juncture between her neck and her shoulder and she let out a loud mewl, arching her back in hope to bring you even closer. The only thing it did tho, was make her covered clit brush harder against your pants.
You felt her frantically tapping your shoulder, a thing she always did when she wanted your attention but couldn't bring herself to form words.
"What do you need, pretty girl?" you whispered close to her earlobe, your breath hitting her skin, and Kara swore she could have cum right there and then.
"My- my shirt. Take my shirt off, please" she gathered after a while, not even caring how high-pitched her voice sounded when you did as she asked.
The chilly air of the apartment instantly hit her skin, but she couldn't have felt more on fire with how your gaze was fixated on her now half exposed body. She used to feel insecure about you silently looking at her, but she soon learnt how to recognize your blown pupils and how your heart always seemed to beat twice as fast every time she took any piece of clothing off her body.
No matter how many times you saw your girlfriend in this position, it never failed to lit your core on fire. Her cheeks were as red as her cape and lips were puffy from the constant kissing. Her breath came in shorts pants making her chest rise and fall quickly, and your eyes inevitably fell on her perfect breasts.
Unable to resist another second sitting so far from her, you grip the hem of her skirt to bring her back to you, and your lips were once again just inches away when you whispered to her. "you're so beautiful my love, why don't you go back to what you were doing, mh?"
You smiled up at her and enjoyed the way her eyes almost fluttered close.
"Y/N" she moaned out loud when the hand gripping her waist pushed her clothed sex on the hard seam of your jeans, making her hold your shirt tightly in her grasp.
"Come on baby" you urged her "make yourself feel good on my lap" You gave a couple more guided thrusts, until she closed her eyes shut, and started rocking back and forth on her own, kicking her boots off in the process.
You returned your attention back on her neck and collarbone, leaving bites that were sure to draw blood on any human. You made sure to soothe the skin after with open mouthed kisses, reaching every possible inch of her skin. Kara leaned her head to the side with a soft whimper, offering you more space.
Using her knees, Kara started applying more pressure on your covered crotch, making you groan in surprise. "fuck Kara"
That really seemed to spur your girlfriend on, making her grind faster on your lap, moaning with every thrust. The grip on your shoulders tightened and you swore you heard the fabric shredding, but you wouldn't even be surprised. It wouldn't be the first time Kara ripped one of your shirts while her head was clouded by pleasure.
She was brought right back to the moment when your hands traveled up to unclasp her bra, and threw it across the room.
You could tease her even more, kissing between the valley of her breasts, avoiding where she needed you the most, but with the way she was rutting against your lap, so desperate to get you both off, you couldn't deny her.
Your lips went instantly to her nipple, circling it with your tongue while your hand palmed her other breast.
"I'm, fuck- so close" she panted, struggling to get a single sentence out.
She soon started whining desperately when she couldn't find it in herself to keep her movements steady, tapping her hand on your shoulder once again, hoping you would get the hint.
Needless to say, you instantly understood.
You brought your hands on her ass to take over her moves and Kara moaned in relief, as she could now focus entirely on chasing her climax.
You used your grip on her to bring her even closer and returned your lips on her neck, making her shiver.
"please Y/N- I'm so-" Kara bit her bottom lip to refrain even louder moans to come out of her mouth, closing her eyes shut. Her arms circled your shoulders while her forehead went to rest on top of your shoulder, breathing in your scent.
You stopped the ministrations on her skin for a moment to whisper in her hear "you're doing so good baby" you cleared your throat, the pleasure affecting your voice "I'm almost close, wait for me"
She let out a little whine at your words, you couldn't hold her so tightly, with your hips bucking wildly into her, your lips burning every inch of her skin, and just except her to wait.
But she wanted to be good for you, she wanted to make you proud, so she lowered her head back on your shoulder and stopped her whining, biting your shirt as a distraction from her impending orgasm. Her hips stuttered on instinct as your hand grazed over her stomach, applying pressure.
Thankfully, she didn't have to wait much longer, a couple more thrusts was all it took you to breathe out "you can let go now baby, I know you want to"
Kara's body would have stilled if it weren't for your hands still guiding her hips, finally allowing to let the climax take over her. You could feel her shaking in your hold as wave after wave of aftershock ran through her.
You slowly stopped moving your hands, and once your own breathing returned to normal you looked at your girlfriend, who was still hiding in the crook of your neck. You hid a chuckle at the state she was in "are you okay baby?"
The blonde weakly nodded, her breath tickling your neck. "mhmh"
Using your free hand to remove her hair from her shoulder you started peppering her skin with light kisses.
"oh Y/N" Kara whispered. She gently held your head in her arms, running a hand through your hair. Just as she started breathing normally again she felt your hands on her thighs for the hundredth time tonight, your fingertips sliding under the hem of her underwear on her sides.
She tried to protest, she really did. Her heart was beating so loud right under your lips Kara was sure you could hear it; but when your teeth nibbled on the skin of her collarbone she felt herself rocking on your lap once again.
You moved your hand up to her chin to make her look at you, after leaving a sweet kiss on her cheek. "why don't you sit on my face, mh?"
"what?" she breathed out, her cheeks threatening to get even redder. Her chest heaved up and down as she looked at the smirk adorning your face.
You changed position on the couch, so you could now lay on it, and, gripping the back of her thighs, you brought her down with you. She kept one hand on your chest, while the other prevented her from putting her entire body weight on you.
It was something the two of you never tried together and something Kara had never done before. And while she never claimed it was a hard no, the topic has only come up in jokes, never like this and so openly.
Kara still hasn't said anything and you started thinking that maybe you went overboard, and wanted to apologize; but then her lips lowered to meet yours in a slow kiss, and you made sure to let her have control of this one.
When the kiss ended, your noses were still brushing against each other's.
"are you sure?" Kara tried to find any trace of uncertainty in your eyes, but she could only see fondness, and a hint of amusement.
"you're asking me? I should be asking you" you chuckled.
Kara smiled at you and bit her lip. After a second, she slightly nodded and got up from the couch.
You watched as she removed the last pieces of clothing almost timidly. And while you were intent on admiring the legs that were finally free from the red skirt, you didn't notice the shirt that was previously lying on the floor, quite literally flying in your direction.
"stop staring at me like that!" she accused, going into her Supergirl persona "and take your clothes off too, it's not fair I'm the only one naked" and despite her quivering tone, you could tell she was comfortable.
You laughed at her words, and by the time you took your shirt off, - which had definitely been shredded - Kara was on your lap again, and her lips were on yours. She could finally feel your skin, without the obstruction of your clothes.
You slipped your hands around her waist once again to make her grind into you, and she moaned into your mouth, the now bare clit making her even more sensitive.
Keeping one hand on her waist, you soon brought her down on the couch again with you, never leaving her lips.
After a few more guided thrusts against your lap, and a few more of her moans swallowed by your lips, she sat up and looked at you.
Your hair was disheveled due to her constant gripping, your lips were glistening from the kissing, and your cheeks were flushed. But Kara was entranced by the pounding of your heart; so loud in her ears Kara was sure she could hear it even without her powers. Heartbeat that almost made her fear for your well being, had she not been looking at you. So calm in her hold yet so excited to kiss her again and again. And so eager to please her.
Her gaze flicked between your eyes, before a smile formed on her lips.
She left one last kiss on your nose and moved her hips up your body as her thighs went on either side of your face, giving you a full view of her folds. But you knew she was still holding back. "is this okay? or is it too much weight? should I get up?"
Instead of answering, you started peppering the intern of her thighs with kisses, as you arms went to circle them to try and bring her closer.
She chuckled lowly "I knew you had a thing for my legs" She teased fondly, moving some of your hair from your eyes.
"I love every part of you" you stated matter of factly, and you heart didn't skip a bit like it does when you lie "but I do enjoy looking at your legs" you confess, not giving her the full victory. "and touching them"
Your grip on her thighs tightened, the action spreading them even more, getting you closer to her cunt.
"and I definitely enjoy kissing them, too" you nibbled on the skin there, really close to her center, making her grind into the air.
She was starting to regret not putting all of her weight.
"Y/N..don't tease now" she tried to order, but when your tongue made contact with her skin, the last words came in the shape of a whine.
After leaving another phantom hickey on the inside of her thigh, you flattened your tongue on her folds, tasting what was left of her first orgasm.
Her hips twitched with every feel of your tongue, as her whines became more constant and desperate. One of her hands went to grip the edge of the couch to keep herself from falling over.
Your neck was starting to ache from the stretching position it was in, and you weren't enjoying Kara to the fullest, so the hands on her thighs moved to her hips, bringing her down onto your face, making her squeal out of surprise.
The new closeness allowed you to be completely inebriated by her smell, causing you to groan into her core, which sent a shiver run up Kara's spine. The blonde bit her lip, the slow pace not being nearly enough "please...Y/N" She regained control of her hips, and started moving them against your face.
A throaty moan escaped her mouth as soon as you started sucking on the bundle of nerves, making her throw her head back. She could feel your restless hands moving all over her body, your nails potentially scratching her skin.
Kara arched her back when your finger brushed against her nipple, and grabbed your wrist to keep you there, a couple of moans imploring you to do more.
You could feel her starting to give in to the pleasure, her hips rutting almost at inhuman speed onto your expecting tongue, while her pants made her sound like she was running the marathon, and how her body seemed heavier with each passing second, completely in your hands.
You tugged on her nipple, causing another loud whine to escape the woman on top of you, as her bottom lip got caught between her teeth.
Your free hand joined your tongue between her legs, and started rubbing her clit with just enough pressure to make her cry out loud. Just as she felt the knot in her stomach growing, your lips went back on her inner thighs, biting the soft skin.
"You look so pretty like this my love, and you taste so good"
She slightly opened her eyes to look at you, or at least the part of you that wasn't hidden by her body or covered in her juices. The sight alone made the crease in her eyebrows deepen as her teeth dug deeper into her bottom lip, and she had to swallow the lump in her throat before attempting to speak.
"ple-please Y/N, I need, need you" She tried to get you back to where she wanted you the most by never stilling the grinding of her hips, holding your hair to guide you.
Caution was thrown out the window once you finally put your lips back on her clit, as she ground her knees on the couch and started roughly humping your face.
All that came out of her mouth were now throaty moans and broken pleas, and all were muffled by her strong thighs clenching around your head. And for the first time, you didn't mind not being able to fully hear her.
She could feel herself almost surrender, her climax quickly approaching, and just needed a little push.
It was quickly given by your soft, now hoarse, voice. "You're doing so good for me baby, come on, let go"
Her second orgasm came stronger than the last, with her hips twitching wildly in your hold as she struggled to regain her breath.
You kept on licking all over her most to clean her up, until she started whining from overstimulation, pushing on her knees to get away.
You used the grip on her waist to get her off you to bring her back on your lap, as you sat up on the couch.
"you did such a good job baby, how are you feeling?" You whispered, planting a soft kiss on top of her hair. To which she lightly nodded her head, not moving it from its warm shelter in the crook of your neck.
You felt her shiver against your bare chest and reached for a blanket at the end of the couch, covering her with it. Your free hand came to rest on top of her knee, gifting her with your warmth. And it wasn't long until you started tracing patterns on her skin, the normal action making your girlfriend giggle.
"you really do love them" Kara said kissing your neck, as a yawn left her mouth.
You only laughed at her accusation, as you had already answered before.
But as she laid on top of you, her hair lightly stinging your collarbone and her breath becoming slower with each passing second, you had never been more certain. The cute reporter, the strong superhero, her integrity and her awkwardness-
You just loved it all. You loved Kara Danvers.

Kara quickly flies down to the balcony of her and Y/n's apartment after they pressed the button on their watch.
Kara: What happened? Are you okay?
Y/n jumps out with a kazoo and flips the lights on.
Y/n: Happy birthday!
Kara looks around with a smile at the decorated apartment before her eyes fall on the Supergirl themed cake.
Suddenly, she flies forward, picking up Y/n before kissing them mid-air.
Kara: Thank you
Y/n: No problem. I figured my super girlfriend should have a super birthday.
Kara just rolled her eyes with a giggle before resuming the kiss.

MY WIFE
Kara Danvers x Reader
Prompt: “How could you do this to me?” “I’m sorry. I am so sorry.”
Word Count: 1700
…
You know something is different from the moment you walk inside your apartment. Nothing is out of place, and everything looks exactly how you left it when you went to work in the morning, but still, something is different and you can feel it.
You close the front door with a soft click and place your coat and purse on the rack, your shoes in the closet and your keys in the bowl.
The silence is unnerving, it’s not a normal silence, it’s an eerie silence. These walls seem to vibrate with an unspoken secret.
The glass of red wine on your kitchen counter is the first thing you notice. There’s red lipstick smeared on the edge, you recognize the shade but the dots stand too far apart for you to connect them just yet.
It’s almost eight o’clock, and you’re supposed to be attending a conference via Skype with the head of Engineering in Tokyo, but he canceled at the last minute because of a family emergency and you couldn’t wait to get home.
You aren’t supposed to be at home, you aren’t supposed to see whatever it is that this eerie silence is hiding.
A heavy and uncomfortable weight settles in the pit of your stomach, with each step that you take down the hallway, towards your bedroom.
The second thing you notice is the bedroom door being closed, and the dots begin to move slowly towards each other, as if they’re magnets and you’re taking too long to figure them out.
When your mind finally puts them together, you come to a stop at the same time that your stomach drops, your body aches.
The red lipstick, the door and the soft glowing red light that’s coming from underneath the door---the eerie silence.
You know what you’ll see when you push this door open, and a part of you wants to turn around and pretend this isn’t real.
The other part of you knows that there’s no going back, even if ignorance is bliss.
You turn the knob and push the door open.
The red light blinds you for a second, and another wave of pain hits you right in the pit of your stomach. You developed the red light bulbs because you’re married to a kryptonian, and the bulbs act as a suppressant for sunlight, a suppressant for her inhuman strength.
Your sister in law helped you carve the idea, but your best friend was key in making them work.
Your best friend.
Looking at her now you completely understand her eagerness in helping you out back then.
The thing about finding your spouse in bed with someone else, is that it becomes an out of body kind of experience. It’s not something that you ever expect to have to see, and your mind struggles to fully accept what your eyes are witnessing.
Finding your wife making love to your best friend and boss, it’s just devastatingly life altering.
They’re not fucking, they’re making love in a way that it’s particularly heartbreaking for you, because Kara is just as delicate when she touches you.
How ironic, you think, it is that without the red lights, Kara would have been able to notice you minutes ago.
You lean against the doorframe, your body feeling heavy and like it doesn’t belong to you. A headache is coming, your head is spinning and the pain that takes root in your chest reminds you of the car accident you were in when you were fourteen.
The emotional pain transcends to become something real. They might as well have carved open your skin with a scalpel, taken out your heart with their bare hands and let you bleed to death, and the pain would be exactly the same.
They haven’t noticed you, and you wait because you don’t know what to do.
What do you say in a situation like this? What do you do? Experience has only taught you so much.
You’ve been cheated on before, you told your wife the story about your girlfriend in college, and how you found her having sex with a cheerleader in your dorm room a few weeks before the semester was over.
She knows how you feel about cheating.
Lena knows too, of course, being your best friend she knows most of your inner thoughts, things that you can’t talk to your wife about, things that you trusted her with.
They knew you’ve been cheated on in the past, and they still did this to you.
You take a deep breath, just as Lena moans out your wife’s name, and you turn on the regular lights in your bedroom.
Whatever numbness you were feeling is broken by Lena’s throaty moan. You’re not willing to hear more of that.
Your wife is the first one to react, jumping out of the bed in a rush, wide eyes staring at you with fear and shock, and completely nude.
You don’t want to notice the little details, but you still do. You take notice of Kara’s red raw lips, abused from so much kissing. Her blond hair is a messy mane, from Lena’s desperate pulls.
And Lena, who takes a second to comprehend what is going on before she has the mind to close her legs and pull a white satin sheet to cover her naked body. There are angry marks on her neck, from where your wife’s lips must have sucked till it bruised.
Swallowing with difficulty, you look away, feeling sick to your stomach.
You’re a stranger in this life, you don’t belong in this narrative.
Your legs shake when you move, so you walk slowly, directly to your closet. You grab a suitcase, and that sparks a cascade of reactions.
“What are you doing?” Kara asks you in a rush, as she runs to your side. “What are you doing?” She asks again, when you meet her eyes.
You look at her for a fleeting moment, but you quickly discover that her panic is only making you angry.
She has no right.
Setting the suitcase on the mattress, you go around the bedroom, picking up what you deem necessary. You don’t plan on taking much, only what you need until you’re back on your feet.
You notice Lena being petrified on your bed, sheet clutching against her chest as she observes you.
“Please, stop. Please.” Kara begs, as she follows you back and forth, back and forth. You don’t stop packing.
“Please, just stop.” You eye the bedroom quickly, deciding you’ll buy whatever else, when Kara stands in front of you.
She’s thrown some pants on and a top, but Lena still hasn’t moved.
“This means nothing!” Kara screams, making you take another pause.
Your eyes flash towards Lena out of instinct, and you catch the exact moment the words hit her. She flinches, seems to shrink a couple of inches and even tears begin to roll down her cheeks.
Her pain doesn’t make you feel any better.
It’s clear that promises were made, conversations where you were supposed to leave the picture were held.
You try to advance towards the bedroom door, but Kara blocks your way.
“No, don’t leave. Please, don’t leave. Lena will go.” Kara rushes in. “Lena, leave!”
Lena flinches one more time, but she manages to pull herself back together quickly too.
“Immediately.” She says as she throws the sheet aside and stands from your bed.
This isn’t new. The way she moves around your bedroom is familiar, as if she’s been here a thousand times before today.
“You should stay. Work things out.” She tells you, as if she’s still your friend and her words aren’t liquid poison now.
“¡Out!” Kara tells her harshly but you don’t wait to see her getting dressed, you just take the suitcase and leave the room.
Kara follows you, rushes to block your path in the hallway again.
“Please, don’t leave. Don’t leave.” She begs, anguish washing over her features.
You see her pain, but you also don’t recognize the person standing before you anymore.
“¡She means nothing!” Kara exclaims, desperate to convince you. “I have no feelings for her. This was just sex. Nothing more and I am so, so sorry baby. Please. I love you. You’re my… my wife, please.”
Your heart breaks at hearing her words, mostly because you never thought of her as someone who could hurt you. Not even when you knew that she had the power of the sun in her bare hands, you always trusted her.
“Your wife.” You utter the words in a whisper, weighting them on your tongue and tasting only despair.
“I love you.” She fiercely tells you. “I love you, and I won’t ever, ever leave you. Please.”
When she tries to touch you, you back away from her slowly.
They say that every person has a breaking point, a switching moment, a flicker of time when they change. This must be that moment for you, because you know that this is the biggest pain you’ll ever get to feel.
This betrayal is your defining moment.
“Please.”
“I trusted you.” You tell her, refusing to acknowledge her pain no more. You hoped that you’d grow old together.
You’re almost at the door when Lena walks out of your bedroom, clad in a blue tight dress and stilettos.
She’s gorgeous, always has been.
When she’s close enough and both of them are standing next to each other, they become complete strangers to you.
They represent your life in two different ways, but your life altogether.
“Please, stay.” You tell Lena, your hand slightly raised, and tears spring from her eyes again. You put on your shoes, and pick up your coat and purse.
“No, she’s leaving.” Kara says. “Leave, Lena.”
“I’m so sorry.” Lena tells you, and you shake your head.
“How could you two do this to me?” You ask them but you don’t wait for their answer, as you open the door and walk out without your keys.
This won’t be the last time that you see them, Lena is still your boss, and Kara is still your wife.
You knew something was different when you got home, you just didn't know you were about to lose everything though.

Call Me When You Break Up
Supergirl. Baby Danvers. Lena Luthor x BD!Reader, Kara Danvers, Alex Danvers, Eliza Danvers.
Word Count: 4k
The takeout container sits open in your lap, but you’ve barely touched it. The noodles glisten under the living room light, waiting, but the chopsticks in your hand feel awkward—like you forgot how to hold them. Like your fingers don’t quite remember what to do.
It’s not the food. It’s not even the hunger twisting in your stomach.
It’s your phone.
Or, more specifically, the picture on your phone, still burned into your brain even though you put it face-down twenty minutes ago. You don’t need to look at it again. You’ve already seen it enough times to memorize every detail.
Lena, at the lake. Half-smiling into the camera, wind in her hair, her hand curled into the sleeve of Grant's jacket.
You hate that he looks nice when he's clearly the stupidest man you've ever met. You hate that she looks happy with him. And you really, really hate that she’s not texting you back.
A fortune cookie hits your shoulder.
“Hey. Earth to Y/N.”
You blink, startled, and look up.
Kara’s upside down on the armchair, somehow managing to eat dumplings without dropping them. Alex is sprawled on the carpet like she’s exactly one second away from a food coma.
“Sorry,” you mutter, stabbing a noodle. “Just thinking.”
Alex smirks, too knowing. “Thinking about Lena?”
You go still. “No.”
They both turn to look at you.
“…Yes.”
Kara sits up a little. “Is she okay?”
You shrug like it doesn’t matter. Like you haven’t been obsessing over that photo for the past thirty minutes. “She posted a picture with her boyfriend. They’re at the lake. Together. Just the two of them.”
Alex rolls her eyes. “Phone guy. What’s his name again? Greg? Graham?”
“Grant,” you mutter, way too fast. “Stupid name.”
There’s a small pause. Kara raises an eyebrow.
You keep going. “Whatever. I just think it’s weird, okay? Didn’t she say she was too busy for a weekend away? Too busy to come to Midvale with us? And now she’s all cuddly and photogenic and on a getaway trip with his stupid face—” You stop yourself, huffing out a breath. “I don’t know. Whatever. It’s not a big deal.”
Alex crunches into her cookie. “Sounds like it is.”
Kara gives you a soft, knowing smile. “Is it because he's on his phone all the time or do you just miss her?”
You nod, relieved that someone gets it. “I miss her! We used to talk all the time. Stay up late talking about forever. I mean, she’d call me after meetings just to vent, and I'd be the first thing on her mind when she woke up. Now it’s all Grant this, Grant that. And she’s not even texting me—ugh.”
You shove a bite of food into your mouth and talk around it. “Honestly, I just wish I could make her forget about him for a while. Wouldn’t it be nice if she forgot what his name is?”
Alex pauses mid-bite.
“…That’s a little intense, Y/N,” Kara says gently.
“Thank you for saying what we all have been thinking,” Alex mutters.
You wave a hand, dismissively. “No, come on. I’m just saying—I get her. I know how to make her feel better when she’s down. I know what she’s made of. I’m her best friend. Her boyfriend should be, like, ten times better than me. That’s the bare minimum, right?”
Kara gives you a look. “Okay, rude. I’m her best friend.”
Alex groans. “Not this again.”
You point your chopsticks at Kara. “I was there when she cried over her mother.”
“I helped her escape a spaceship prison where she was being obligated to marry my ex-boyfriend!”
“Oh please, you were doing that for yourself! I fly to Newfoundland once a week for her favorite food!”
Alex throws her hands up. “You’re all insane.”
Eliza, who's been in the kitchen doing whatever and not participating in the conversation, says—like she’s commenting on the weather, not detonating a bomb—
“Honey, are you in love with Lena?”
You freeze. Your sisters freeze.
“…What?”
Eliza doesn’t even look up. “I said, are you in love with Lena?” As if you hadn't heard her, and not like she has asked the most absurd question ever.
You open your mouth but nothing comes out. Alex stares at you like you’ve just been exposed in 4K. Kara drops her dumpling. And you sit there, too stunned.
And then, finally, you manage a small, shaky— “No.”
No one says anything else.
Kara doesn’t move, wheels on her head turning. Alex just blinks at you, like this is the first time she is seeing you. Even Eliza, who definitely heard the lie, doesn’t call you out on it.
The silence stretches, and you pretend to be very interested in your noodles, though you don't eat it.
Eventually, your mom changes the subject. You barely say another word the rest of the night.
It’s much later when the house has gone still and your childhood bedroom is dark, except for the faint blue glow of your phone screen. You're lying on the same double bed you used to share with Kara when you were little—back when you still kicked in your sleep and she talked through her dreams.
Now you’re older, but apparently nothing’s changed, because tonight, you're sharing it again. Kara’s out cold beside you, snoring into your pillow like she owns it. Alex on her bed on the other side of the room, cocooned in three blankets.
You, meanwhile, are wide awake. Clutching your phone like it might crack under your grip. Sleep doesn’t even bother trying anymore.
You don’t mean to open it again. Truly. It’s not on purpose. Your thumb just… slips. Again. And suddenly, for the twenty-third time, you’re watching the same Instagram story.
Lena, wrapped up in that soft oatmeal sweater she always wears when she’s somewhere she feels safe. Laughing at something you can’t hear. Her hair catches the light. The lake behind her is gold and endless and perfect.
And then, just as she turns toward the camera, just as you think—maybe she’s looking at you—his arm slips into the frame. Greg’s arm. His stupid, tan, strong arm.
You feel irrationally offended.
You go to close the app. You don’t. You let it loop. Again.
Are you in love with Lena?
Eliza’s voice echoes in your head like some kind of ghostly apparition. You still can’t believe she said that. Like, how dare she ask you that?
Ridiculous.
You huff and open your texts.
Lena’s last message is from an entire week ago: Don’t forget to eat, darling. You get grumpy when you’re hungry. You had responded: I'm always grumpy, and she sent back: no, baby, you're the sun itself.
That was before she went to the lake. Before Grant took over her life. Before this horrible night where your own mother decided to psychoanalyze you over soda. You keep scrolling up, for no other reason than to hurt yourself, apparently. You swallow as the messages get sweeter.
Lena sent: Remind me to never schedule back-to-back board meetings. I fear I may commit a crime. And you, ever the good friend, texted back: Let me know if you need help burying the body, love. She replied instantly: That’s why you’re my favorite.
Would Grant help her hide a body? You don't think so.
You smile at her: Do you think I’d look good with bangs? You rolled your eyes: I think you'd look good bald. You could hear the smile when she texted: No! You're supposed to say no! And you? You'd never tell her no: Sorry darling, can't lie to you. You'd look good in a clown costume.
You groan and roll onto your stomach, pressing your forehead into the pillow. See? You’re not in love with Lena. You’re not.
You just think about her all the time. And miss her constantly. And maybe feel a little sick every time you picture her kissing someone else. And sometimes wish it was your name she said half-asleep instead of—
Oh no.
You sit up, heart hammering. And what about the constant, nagging feeling of wanting more whenever you're with her even though you never know what more stands for?
Oh.
Your eyes open wide. Is the fierce, all-consuming protectiveness—the kind that would make you tear down the world just to keep her from crying—not… just a friendly thing?
Shit.
You are losing your mind. It’s fine. It’s totally fine. You just— You just might be in love with Lena. And yeah, you are not handling it well.
So, obviously, you do the only logical thing. You turn to Kara and shake her awake.
She groans, barely shifting under the blankets. “Mmh?”
You shake her harder. “Kara.” Nothing. You slap her arm. “Kara! Wake the fuck up!”
She flinches, sniffs, then—finally—blinks blearily up at you. “Wha’?”
You ignore the guilt of waking her up at, yep, two in the morning. “Hey. So. Hypothetically. If I was in love with Lena, that’d be bad, right?”
There’s a long pause. Kara shifts, sits up straighter, hair all over the place, squints at you like she’s trying to see through a fog.
“Wait.” Her voice is clearer now, more alert. “Say that again?”
You exhale sharply, pressing a hand to your forehead. “Hypothetically—”
“Uh-huh.”
“—If I was in love with Lena, like, in a romantic way—”
“Uh-huh.”
“—That would be bad, right?”
Kara stares at you. Squints. Then, at full volume:
"YOU ARE IN LOVE WITH LENA!"
From the other bed, Alex groans. Rolls over. “No doy.”
You freeze.
Kara slaps a hand over her mouth. You stare in horror as Alex blindly reaches for her pillow and chucks it across the room. It lands with a sad little thwump against Kara’s shoulder.
You sputter. “Wh—you—what do you mean, ‘no doy’?!”
Alex doesn’t even lift her head. “I mean no doy. We can throw a party for this tomorrow, okay? Now go to sleep.”
You pinch the bridge of your nose. “Okay, no, seriously guys. I just—I just need someone to tell me I’m overthinking. That this is just—like—a friendship thing. That I’m not in love with Lena. Please.”
Kara is suspiciously quiet. Alex even more.
You feel your stomach drop when Kara starts with, “I mean, I could say that…”
You close your eyes. “Kara, please.”
“…But it would be a huge lie.”
You groan and throw yourself onto the bed. “This is awful.”
“This is adorable.”
“This is a disaster.”
“This is long overdue,” Alex mutters from the other side of the room. Of course she would chime in now. "Should we put that on the cake tomorrow?”
Kara gives a full hearted laughter while you groan louder. “Okay, okay. Breathe. What’s got you spiraling?”
“I don’t know Kara! The fact that I'm in love with my best friend?! The fact that my mom figured this out before I did?! Or that Lena’s dating someone else?! Take your pick!”
Kara hums thoughtfully. “Mm. Yeah. That last one is rough.”
“THANK you—”
“But also,” Kara continues, “you know it won’t last.”
You blink, confused.
“Come on,” Kara says, amused. “Lena and Grant? That’s, like, Alex trying to use emojis. It’s unnatural and doomed to fail.”
That… should not make you feel as good as it does.
"Fuck you.” Alex grumbles. And that shouldn't make you feel even better.
“I mean, let’s be real. When they break up, who’s Lena gonna call?”
Your stomach flips. You swallow. “Me.”
Kara hums approvingly. “Exactly.”
For a second, you let yourself picture it. Lena, heartbroken, coming to you for comfort. Lena, curling into your side, whispering, I just needed to see you. Lena, looking at you like—like—
Oh.
You sit up straighter, heat creeping up your neck. “Okay. So. I’m in love with Lena.”
Kara and Alex, in unison: “No doy.”
Then, just to annoy you further, Alex adds, “Seriously. You’re in love. We know. Midvale knows. Now go the fuck to sleep. I'm begging you!”
You inhale sharply. “I hate both of you.”
Kara just giggles, settling back in bed. Alex turns to the other side. And so you're left alone to think about your feelings and do no sleep at all.
No. Seriously. You haven’t slept.
The sun is barely beginning to stain the sky with that soft, traitorous pink that always makes everything feel more fragile than it already is. You’re curled on the bed with the blanket around your shoulders like a cocoon you’ll never come out of. Your phone is still warm in your hand. Not from use—no, from war. Because you've been fighting yourself all night long.
Lena’s Instagram is open again. It always is. She looks beautiful in that photo. Perfect. Nothing different from her usual perfectness.
You tap back to your messages.
Your last real conversation with Lena was weeks ago, before he turned her life upside down and pushed you out of, deliberately.
You press your fingers to your eyes, hard.
It’s stupid, you know it is. But still—her laugh. Her voice. Her attention. You miss it so much it feels like your ribs are bruising from the inside out.
At 6:12am, you finally cave.
You: Hey Lena! Saw your picture with Grant on the lake—hope he tripped over and died :)
Ugh. Too bitter. Delete.
You: Hey girl! So glad to see you enjoying the lake, even though you said you were too busy to come to Midvale with us!!
Okay, still bitter. You can taste it. Delete.
Your fingers hover. You huff, exasperated with yourself.
“Why don’t you just go full jealous psychopath,” you mutter aloud. Then you type, mockingly,
You: Hey Lena! Call me when you break up!
You laugh under your breath. Bitter, sleep-deprived, mean.
You sigh. “Okay. No. Maybe I shouldn’t text her at all.”
You go to hit backspace. But your thumb twitches. And then—
Message sent.
Oh. Oh no. OH MY GOD.
You freeze. Stone-still. Like if you don’t move, the moment might not be real.
Then your phone lights up. Delivered. And then immediately after— Seen.
You make a strangled noise. Like a dying animal. Like your soul just ripped free and fled the scene.
Kara stirs next to you, groggy. “Mmmh. What’s wrong?”
“I accidentally texted Lena,” you whisper. Horror blooming across your face like fire through dry bush.
She doesn’t move. “Okay... so?”
You spin to her, scandalized. “So?! I just sent ‘Hey Lena! Call me when you break up!’”
That gets Kara sitting straight up. Her eyes go wide. “Dear Rao. This is so bad!”
Alex, still buried under three blankets and zero remorse, mumbles, “No doy.”
You clutch your phone like it betrayed you. Like maybe, if you hold it tight enough, it’ll unsend the text by pure regret.
You whisper, “She saw it.”
And from the look on Kara’s face, that might actually be worse than dying.
Your phone buzzes in your hand. You don’t want to look. You really don’t want to look. But your treacherous eyes flick down anyway.
Lena: ?
Your stomach does a full somersault. You stare like you’re watching a horror movie through your fingers. Maybe you can fake your death. Move to Iceland. Change your name.
Buzz.
Lena: That was… a bold message for 6AM.
Kara stifles a laugh behind her hand. You glare at her like she just kicked a puppy. “This is not funny.”
“It’s a little funny,” she says, already grabbing a pillow in self-defense.
Buzz.
Lena: I haven’t broken up with him yet. So I shouldn't call you? Cause I'd like to, since I'm thinking about it…
Everything inside you goes very, very still. Like your heart forgot how to beat. Like your lungs forgot how to draw air.
Lena: Can we talk? Or should I wait until you're fully awake?
You stare at the screen. For once in your life, you have no idea what to say. But your fingers move anyway, your heart five steps ahead of your brain.
You: I haven’t slept. I miss you. And I hate that I miss you. But I do.
The typing bubble pops up again almost immediately.
Lena: I miss you too, babygirl. You know, you could’ve just started with that.
You smile. Just a little. Just enough to remember what breathing feels like.
Kara reads over your shoulder and sighs, “Okay, now I’m invested.”
You groan and shove your phone into your hoodie pocket. “I should go… somewhere else.”
Kara perks up. “Like where?”
“I don’t know. The sun?”
Alex, who has been pointedly ignoring this entire thing under the guise of trying to sleep, lets out a suffering sigh. “It is too early for this. What’s the point of coming to Midvale if I can’t even sleep?”
“You can sleep later,” Kara says, rolling her eyes. “This is important. This is Y/N's future.”
Alex groans but doesn’t argue. In fact, she gets up from her bed and makes her way to yours.
You sigh and flop back down onto the bed, pulling out your phone again. Kara and Alex immediately shift positions, each claiming a spot on either side of you like it’s their drama too.
“Personal space?” you say, glaring between them.
“Nope,” Kara says.
“Absolutely not,” Alex agrees.
You grumble but unlock your phone anyway.
Lena’s typing again.
You hold your breath as her message pops up.
Lena: You still there or just woke me up to fall asleep right after?
Kara snickers. Alex makes an approving noise. “I like her.”
“You liked her before,” you mumble, fingers on the keyboard.
You: Still here. Just… I mean, you just posted a picture with what's-his-name, so I thought things were fine?
The read receipt pops up. But nothing comes through.
Kara shifts beside you, her gaze flicking between you and your phone like she’s waiting for something to explode. Alex is less patient. “What, she just—” she gestures vaguely. “Ghosted you?”
“No,” you say quickly. “She’s typing.”
Three dots. Then nothing. Then—
Lena: You think that looks like fine?
Your grip tightens around your phone.
You: I don’t know. You tell me. Lena: We had a fight before bed. I was lying here, thinking about how he doesn’t even know me. And then you texted saying exactly what was going through my mind. How? You: It's just what was going through mine. Lena: See? That's because you do. Know me, I mean. You: Yeah.
Another pause. Your heart sits in your throat like it’s waiting to be broken.
Lena: I wish you were here instead. Or that I had gone to Midvale with you instead of here.
Kara mutters under her breath something suspiciously close to “dear Rao”. Alex whistles low. Your pulse is loud in your ears.
You: Do you want me to be there? I mean, I can fly. Lena: I know you can. But he’s still here.
You breathe in through your nose. That “but” slices clean through your chest.
You: Right. Sorry. I just keep thinking we're talking about something that apparently we're not. Lena: We are. Sorry—It’s complicated.
That’s not what you want to hear. That’s not what you want this to be.
You: It’s not, though. Not really.
Three dots. Vanish. Return. Your stomach knots.
Lena: He doesn’t know me. Not like you do. I keep trying to make it feel right, but it never does.
It’s not I want you, but it’s close enough that you forget how to breathe.
You: Then why are you still there?
A full minute passes. You’re about to throw your phone across the room when—
Lena: Because leaving would mean admitting that I’ve been lying to myself. And I’m not sure I’m ready for that.
It’s such a Lena thing to say—measured, thoughtful, devastating. You want to shake her. You want to hold her. You want to be anywhere but here.
You: What if I said I was already outside?
Lena: Are you?
You: No. But I could be if you wanted me to.
You don’t know what you want her to say. You just know that if she asked, you’d be there before she even finished the sentence.
A long pause. Too long. Your screen stays stubbornly blank.
You can almost see her, lying in that bed beside him, phone dimly lighting her face, caught in the space between wanting and not letting herself have.
Lena: Baby…
Nothing else.
Your heart slams against your ribs. You don’t wait.
Your phone is still in your hand as you stand, as you move too fast for thought, for hesitation. The cool Midvale air rushes past you, and then the sky does, and then—
You land.
You don’t even know if you’re breathing as you step up the cabin door. Your fingers hesitate over the wood. You could still leave. You could still pretend none of this ever happened.
Then the door opens.
And she’s there. Barefoot, sweater slipping off one shoulder, hair a little messy like she hasn’t slept at all.
Your voice is barely a whisper, “Please.”
Lena blinks, lips parting slightly. “What—”
“Just tell me the truth.” Your breath shudders. “Please. Tell me with all the words that it’s me that you want. Not him. Not that sleaze in your bed.” You swallow, pulse thrumming. “Tell me that picture isn’t true. That this—” you motion between you, desperate, aching— “you, me, sleepless, raw, honest—that this is what’s real.”
Lena exhales sharply. Her fingers twitch at her sides. She looks at you like you just tipped the whole world over, and she’s scrambling to find her footing.
But she doesn’t speak.
And Rao, you don’t know if that’s your answer or not. Your stomach twists. The silence stretches too long. Too raw.
“Lena.” Her name catches on your throat. “I'm tired of could-have-beens. Please, say something.”
She exhales sharply, shaking her head. “That picture isn’t true.”
Your heart stumbles.
She looks wrecked. Bare-faced and exhausted, barely keeping herself upright. “It’s not true,” she repeats. “I mean, it is—we were there, and he took it, but it’s not—” She presses her lips together. “I didn’t want to be there. I don’t want him.”
Your breath comes fast, uneven. “Then who do you want?”
Lena looks at you like the answer has always been obvious. Like it's always been you. “You, Y/N. I want you.”
And that’s it. That’s all it takes. You’re moving before you can think, closing the space, and she’s already reaching for you, fingers curling into the fabric of your hoodie like she’s afraid you’ll disappear.
When you kiss her, it’s not soft. It’s everything unsaid, everything you’ve both been too afraid to name. And she kisses you back like she’s been waiting forever. You kiss her like you’ve been holding your breath for weeks, maybe months. Maybe longer. And she clings to you like she’s drowning in her own life.
When you finally break apart, she’s still trembling.
“Lena,” you whisper, your hands still on her waist, grounding her. “He’s inside.”
She nods slowly, eyes fluttering shut for a second. “I know.”
You watch her breathe, shallow and shaken, like she’s standing on the edge of something dangerous.
“I need to end it,” she says, voice low. “I should’ve ended it before. I just—” Her voice cracks. “I didn’t think I was allowed to want this. To want you.”
“You're allowed everything.” You press your forehead to hers. “But he deserves the truth, baby.”
She nods again, steadier this time. “Yeah. He does.”
There’s a pause. She lingers like she doesn’t want to let go of your hand.
“It's okay.” You guarantee because she clearly needs it. You smile, soft and teasing. “Just call me when you break up.”
Lena rolls her eyes, a smile coming unbidden, like once again you charmed her beside herself.
She kisses you again. Just once. Quick. Like punctuation. Then she turns and walks back inside.
She calls you less than an hour later.

Brother Meets (Super)Girl - Supergirl x Male Reader
Note: Fluff/Wholesome - Reader is Stephanie Brown's Brother!
Art by KaitynLeeds aka @violetsyrenart
A vehicle drives up the driveway up towards a mansion seen ahead of the vehicle's path, passing the gate after it opened to allow the driver inside to drive in after he confirmed his identity. Someone was awaiting him ahead of the driveway.
An excited blonde girl, dressed in casual wear, standing with some others who seemed intrigued to meet this person the girl has talked about a lot.
"Is this him?" Dick Grayson aka Nightwing asked the girl, Stephanie Brown, the hero also known as Spoiler.
"Yes! It's him!" Stephanie looked on with a huge smile, watching the red Honda CR-V pull over ahead of them, the door soon opening to reveal a young man in his 20s, step out the red Honda, his H/C Hair blowing in the wind a little as a smile dawned on his face.
"Sister!" the young man greeted from the opening of his vehicle, closing the door and headed around the vehicle with open arms.
"Brother!" Stephanie shouted with joy, rushing up to her brother with the action of giving him the biggest hug a sister could ever offer.
The man groaned a little from the impact and chuckled, his arms soon wrapping around his sister to hold her tight, he hadn't seen her in a while, a few years in fact.
The only way they could communicate much was through text or calls, sometimes letters if the signal wasn't working, he travelled throughout the world, either cross-country or through air travel.
The pair kept the hug going as the others smiled, happy to see Stephanie all excited again.
"I don't think I've seen Stephanie this happy in a while" Duke whispered to Cassie, who smiled.
"it's nice to see" Cassie said shortly after.
The two siblings broke the hug and smiled at each other, happy to see one another again after a long time, a sigh soon following after.
"I wasn't expecting to see you today" Stephanie said with a huge smile across her lips, eyes beaming with joy of seeing her brother standing in front of her. "You could've said earlier!".
"Haha, sorry. Wanted to keep it a surprise. And I was gonna be travelling back through, so I thought maybe pop in to say hello. Dick kept it all a secret though" he smirked as Stephanie looked shocked.
"You... Traitor" she pouted as Dick laughed softly.
"Can't break a secret, especially if it's a surprise" he shrugged there after as Steph shook her head with a smile. "It's good to see you, Y/N" he approached the man, patting him on the back.
"You too, Grayson" he nodded as he looked to the others. "And these lovely people must be the Bats and Robins I've been hearing about" he looked to the others, as a few looked a little flabbergasted.
"Oh yeah, my bro here knows our... 'Job', he's always known" Stephanie said to the others. "Haven't I already mentioned that?" she looked while pulling a facial expression.
"I... Don't think you did" Duke replied while scratching his head.
"Nah, she did. I remember" Jason approached soon after. The man looked a little intimidating to Y/N for a moment before he wrapped his arm over his shoulder in a brotherly way, surprising Mr. Brown. "So, you're the guy, Steph has been talking about a lot over the past few weeks. I didn't think you were much, but... Maybe I was a little wrong".
"And I assume you're Jason?" Y/N asked, looking up at the man. "Red Hood, right?".
"The one and only" Jason said with a proud grin. "What gave it away?".
"Just what Stephanie has told me about. Tall guy, brawny, has a white patch in the hair and a... A-A jock" Y/N said while a little intimidated.
"Haha, she's right on all those parts" Jason chuckled, letting go of the young man before patting him on the back roughly. "Welcome to the Wayne Manor, if I can be the first to welcome you?".
"Thank you... Jason" the young man said awkwardly, as Stephanie began to push Jason away with some effort.
"Alright, alright" Stephanie butted in, hands raised out while she scooted Jason out of the way, Dick soon followed suit. "I don't want him to be intimidated already by everyone. Let's take it down a notch, Y/N's probably a little too stressed with all the travelling he's done, don't want him intimidated by everyone here. And I don't exactly want him to be stressed or awkward around you all, so... Yeah".
"Still playing overprotective sister?" Y/N asked with a little smirk. "That's one thing I haven't missed about you".
"That's adorable" Tim Drake/Red Robin soon chimed in, as Stephanie began to blush awkwardly. "I didn't know you had it in you".
"Shut it, Tim" she glared at him as Y/N laughed softly.
"You're my sister's boyfriend, correct?" he peeped over Steph's shoulder as Tim nodded.
"Yeah, that's me" he smiled, approaching the man with his hand out for Y/N to shake. "Steph's told me a lot about you, you're a musician from what I've been told". he soon shook Tim's hand as Duke scratched his chin.
"A musician? Huh? I thought he was a cool vigilante to be honest" Duke said aloud as Y/N chuckled at both of the guys.
"I leave that stuff to those capable, like my sister" he placed a hand on Stephanie's shoulder for a moment. "Vigilante stuff ain't my thing, I'm not exactly built for that".
"That's Duke Thomas aka Signal" Stephanie introduced the young man to her brother as he waved. Y/N nodded back toward Duke. "He's newish to the family we've got here... And this girl here -" Stephanie began to push Cassandra up towards Y/N, seemingly shy to meet the brother judging from her expression. "This is Cassandra Cain aka Black Bat, one of my besties" she introduced.
"Hi" Cassie shyly waved.
"Hello, Cassandra" he smiled, waving back at Cassandra before he looked back at his sister. "Where's Damian?".
"He's inside" Jason answered instead of Stephanie. "Don't know what he's doing though".
"Training with Bruce, they've been doing it all afternoon" Dick answered next".
"Ah, Batman" Y/N said with an ecstatic smile growing. "It's still unreal to me that my sister is apart of this family" Y/N sighed happily. "I knew she was Spoiler, but... To be apart of this? It's... Crazy".
"That means you are too" Tim soon spoke up. "If Steph is okay with that?".
"Of course!" Stephanie replied happily. "I'd be happy to allow that" she smiled.
"I'm guessing Barbara is in this... Clocktower of sorts?" he then asked.
"The Belfry? Yeah, that's where she is mostly, working as Oracle" Stephanie then replied.
"Speaking of which, I should probably go visit her" Dick soon began to walk backwards towards the Mansion. "She found something on the sample I gave her last night from my patrol in Blüdhaven".
"Should I tag along?" Jason asked the former Robin as he shook his head.
"No, it's fine. She'll contact you all when she's found something about the lead also, Bruce is still waiting for her response after all" Dick soon walked off.
"Detective work?" Y/N soon whispered to his sister, curiosity in his tone.
"Yeah, pretty much" she soon whispered back. "So uh... How long you planning to stay?".
"A few weeks at best, then I'm along the road. My next trip is planned for Metropolis, then National City at best" he replied with an optimistic tone. "A studio in each city are needing me for my talents for their projects, and I'm also looking to do some more work with my music talents, so...".
"Oh, Metropolis?!" Stephanie perked up at the mere mention.
"Yeah. You seem... Perked up there?" he questioned his sister's action as Jason chuckled.
"Oh yeah, has she told you about her uh... other best friend?" he asked as Y/N realized immediately.
"Oh? Kara?" he blinked a few times. "S-Supergirl, y-yeah, yeah. I know" he looked away for moment, his heart beginning to race. "Steph's told me a lot about her too" his tone turning a little nervous as the others picked up on this.
"Just so you know... He has a little crush on her" Steph told them all loudly as Y/N snapped his head to face Stephanie, his cheeks flushing red completely.
"That's... Adorable" Tim replied.
"Yeah, I guess so" Cassandra agreed
"Stephanie!!" Y/N glared at the girl, frowning at her while trying to fight back his blush. "What was it you said earlier? You didn't want me to feel awkward?!" he scolded as the others laughed and smiled.
"What? It's just a little one..." Steph then began to smirk. "Or is it? You called her pretty cute when I showed you a few pictures of her, even on social media" her devious smirk grew
"Oh this is gonna be good" Jason whispered to the rest, taking in the scene".
"Where's the popcorn when you have it?" Duke joked along with Jason as the two others smiled.
"It's a little one! Just a little crush! Doesn't mean you had to say it out loud in front of them!" he continued scolding her, the red around his face getting brighter as his voice raised louder. "I called her cute because I was complimenting her! I wasn't actually trying to implement something!"
"C'mon! It's honestly pretty cute!" she pouted.
"That's really weird coming from you! Any sibling would say ew to that!".
"Does this normally happen between you two?" Duke then butted in politely as they looked at him together.
"Not much" Steph told him, but Y/N had a different answer.
"Oh yes, it definitely does" he said, still fighting his blush. "She's been non-stop teasing me about it once I told her over the phone".
"You've had this little crush on Supergirl for a long time now, surely it's grown further by now" she teased further, embarrassing her brother more as his blush deepened. "Oh my god... IT HAS!!"
"Ugh, okay yes, It has! Can we move on?" he asked with the note of wanting to forget about it. "I don't get exactly how this is a big deal to begin with, anyway? It's just a... A simple crush, that's it".
"On someone like her? Oh yeah it is" Stephanie said with a little excitement. "I honestly think you two would be perfect for each other".
"And how exactly?" he asked, his eyes glued on Stephanie as she laughed softly.
Before she could give him her answer, a noise erupted coming from the sky, a sonic boom that got everyone's attention.
"Did I just hear a sonic boom?" Y/N asked. "What was that?" he then noticed Stephanie smirking, as his eyes widened a little. "Steph... Why are you smirking?".
"I... May have told her you'd be coming by today" her expression turned sneaky as Y/N's blush deepened again.
"That sonic boom... Was-" his eyes soon landed on a blonde girl in a red cape descend from the sky feet first with a smile on her face. The S of Hope that was recognizable from anywhere.
"Yep, it's her alright. And she knows by the way" Stephanie smirked and winked before she and the others turned around to see the Girl of Steel herself, slowly descend from the sky, while Y/N had the privilege on seeing her descend fully,
The wind picked up her hair and cape gracefully, along with her skirt, giving her the "golden girl" moment in his eyes as everything seemed to fade out of existence, with only Supergirl in his view.
"Hey everyone!" Kara soon landed on her feet, fully descended down as she went to hug Jason. "Hey big guy, been a while".
"Sure has, Kara, it sure has" Jason replied happily, accepting her hug before it broke, as she went to greet the others.
"Hey there Timmy" she waved as he waved back. "Duke, Cassie" the two others also waved back at her before her eyes landed on Steph. "Stephie!!" Kara ran up to her normally with open arms as the two girls hugged tightly.
"Oh geez! You're squishing me!" The blonde bat managed to speak through.
"Oh? Sorry!" Kara giggled, easing her strength around Stephanie's figure. "Been busier than usual lately, sorry I haven't been able to hang out often. Especially when Kal is busy outside Metropolis" she began gossiping towards her best friend.
"It's no big deal, Kara. It's totally fine" Stephanie smiled back at Kara.
Kara was about to reply back to Stephanie before her eyes landed on the boy who stood a few feet to Stephanie's right, grabbing her attention afterwards as he stood still... Eyes slightly widened as he stared at her.
"Is this your brother?" Supergirl looked at Stephanie for confirmation, smiling with a joyful expression. "He looks cuter up close" she says, snapping Y/N out of his little daydream with his ears flushing red.
"Yeah! That's him alright!" she giggled softly. "Kara, this is Y/N, the boy who has definitely not been crushing on you for the past few years" she sought to tease him further as Kara softened her expression, laughing softly.
"He seems pretty embarrassed, poor guy. Don't tease him like that, Steph" she expressed sympathy, before giving him a smile. "Hi, Y/N" she waved, her smile softening with a soothing tone.
"Uh-Uh..." he stuttered. "H-Hi" he soon waved back, blinking a few times before he began smiling himself. "I... I didn't expect you, I mean, I. Ugh".
"You didn't expect to meet me, you mean?" she was surprisingly patient with him, smiling away at his expression and awkwardness.
"Y-Yeah, that's what I meant" he nodded, looking down at the floor.
"We're gonna head inside, let you and those two alone with each other" Jason suggested as he began walking back to the Manor. "I gotta clean my guns, they're needing a clean".
"We'll get Alfred to come help bring in your belongings!" Duke offered while they all began returning to the Manor, leaving the two girls and one boy alone together.
"Thanks Duke" Y/N replied to him as he awkwardly looked back at the girls.
Silence fell within Y/N as he tried looking into Kara's eyes but couldn't bare to do it, standing in front of the girl he crushed on for the last few years, had him a little uneasy. He almost cursed out Stephanie for suggesting his crush come to visit.
"So, I heard a little bat told me you have a crush on me, it's pretty cute, not gonna lie" Kara soon brought up. "If it makes it any better, I follow you on Vintagram and Facelook, I like your music as well, you're incredible" she smiled, breaking the silence.
"Danvers, right?" he asked with a blush rising, having built up some courage to look at her in the face".
"Mhm, K.Danvers_749 and Kara Danvers" she said softly.
"Oh! That makes sense!" he replied with a soft chuckle. "And... Thank you. I don't really think I'm incredible, but thanks".
"Are you kidding?" Stephanie said aloud. "Of course you're incredible! The fact your crush thinks so too, is saying much!" she teased at the end.
"Steph.." he looked away from sheer embarrassment while smiling, while Kara giggled softly.
"I think you can quit teasing him now, Stephie" she soon spoke. "The elephant has been addressed in the air already, as much as it is charming to hear he has a crush on me" she blushed herself too.
"You should've seen her face when I showed her your picture for the first time" she whispered into Y/N's ear, as Kara looked at Steph with a glare.
"I heard that" she crossed her arms with a frown. "And I don't know what you're talking about".
"Girl, you called him cuter up close earlier" Stephanie grinned. "There's no point hiding it now, I can see you two being perfect for each other" she said to the both of them, as they both blushed ear to ear.
"Are you saying... Supergirl has-".
"Mhm" Stephanie confirmed. "She sure does".
Y/N scratched the back of his neck as Kara hid her face in her hands, now regretting to have flown on by to meet HER crush for the first time. Now the two awkward as anything as Stephanie softly laughed.
"You both should see your own faces right now, oh my god" she reveled. "I'm so sorry, I couldn't help myself. It's the fact you're both meeting for the first time too".
"I mean, he was gonna find out sooner than later, but I would've told him" Kara said, frowning. "But it's okay, it's kinda cute seeing him flushed, it's pretty attractive" she smiled.
"You're... Attractive yourself" Y/N said back to her with a soft and nervous chuckle.
"Aww, cute" Stephanie joined her hands together in awe, teasing the both. "Won't be long until you both start kissing" she blurted out innocently, making the two blush deep. Y/N looked away with a embarrassed smile growing on his face.
While Kara slightly giggled softly, looking at him, practically hearing his heartbeat racing before her eyes caught the red Honda. "Is that your guitar in there?" she spotted, trying to drive the conversation out of the awkward moment they both felt.
"Oh?" he turned around. "Yeah, I brought my guitar in that case, two guitars actually. Brought some other belongings as well. I'm staying here for a few weeks before I travel again" he informed the Girl of Steel, his words perking her ears up with curiosity.
"He's going to Metropolis in a few weeks as well" Stephanie winked at Kara's direction, surprising her. "And National City"
"Wait, really?! I could help get you there" she offered before retracting herself, connecting her hands together shyly. "Um... If you want me to help?".
"I mean... I dunno how you'd be able to help, but the offer does sound nice" Y/N replied with a chuckle. "I'll think about it" he smiled as an elderly man was seen walking up to the three with Duke Thomas, Y/N assumed it was the Butler he had been hearing about from Stephanie. "Alfred Pennyworth, it's good to meet you"
"Mr. Brown. It is lovely to meet you" the British Butler greeted the young man back. "Master Thomas had informed me of your arrival, shall I assist in bringing in your belongings to the guest room?" the man offered.
"Thank you, leave the guitar to me though, it is quite a heavy load" Y/N suggested. "They're in the boot and thank you, again" he used his car keys to open the boot remotely, allowing the Butler to help out.
"I could carry it in if you want?" Duke offered. "Can't be that heavy right?".
"Be my guest" he scooted to the side of his car, opening the back door.
"And Ms. Danvers. It is lovely to see you too, quite an unexpected visit" he greeted walking past Kara as she smiled back at him.
"Just popping in to say hello, and get to know Stephanie's brother" Kara replied, watching the scene unfold in front of her as she kept her eyes on Y/N only.
"Huh? I see the way you're looking at him. Are you gonna ask him out?" Stephanie scooted to Kara's side as she looked at her shocked, while Y/N thought about Kara's offer for a moment
"No! I did not ask him out there!" she began blushing again. "I swear to Rao! Stop! You're embarrassing me".
"You could ask him out, y'know? He's right there!" she gestured toward Y/N, helping Duke pull out the case his guitar is in.
-"I told you it's heavy"-
Kara fell into silence, thinking about the mere thought. Sure it would be nice to be in a relationship, and be dating a young man, but she feared she'd put his life in danger if so.
"And put his life in danger?" Kara whispered back. "I-I don't know" she bit her tongue.
"Who says you would? It's not like the public is gonna know Supergirl is dating a normal guy, a guy like my bro!" Stephanie peered as Kara sighed.
"It's not just that, it's if any villains find out who I am without wearing the cape, they'll go for my loved ones, and Y/N would be on that list if I were to date him. I like him, don't get me wrong, but..." she sighed again. "I don't know if I'm worth it and we just met, so...".
"Look, I know dating while being a superhero is... Hard, I get that, been there, done that, which you already know, but... This is Y/N we're talking about, this guy has a crush on you, my own brother has a crush on you. I think he'd be happy to date you. He did go through a bad breakup some time ago, but if he was to date you? I think it'd make him a little more happier" she leaned on Kara's shoulder with her arm.
"You sure?" Kara said with unsurety.
"Yeah, very" Stephanie nodded. "I just think you two would be great together, you always wanted to date a musician, didn't you not?".
"Okay, okay, I'll ask him" Kara smiled softly with a sigh and a blush across her cheeks. "Rao, why am I listening to you, Steph?".
"Because you know I'm right!" she said with optimism. "Now, go ask him! While you've got the chance!"
Kara cleared her throat and took a deep breath, beginning to approach Stephanie's brother as he helped out Duke.
"And you carry this everywhere with you?!" Duke said while trying to hold it above the ground.
"To be fair, it's carrying two guitars, so..." Y/N replied to him.
"I've noticed!" Duke says with a little effort. "Don't worry, I can manage!" he said.
"Suit yourself" Y/N raised his hands up while backing off, turning around to see Supergirl having approached him. "Oh! Uh... Hi" he smiled softly, standing in Kara's presence as she smiled back.
"Hi" she waved back with a cute smile across her cheeks. "So... Uh... Y/N, I want to ask you something" she said with a rise of red in her face, maintaining eye contact.
"Uh... S-Sure?" he said nervously. "You can ask me a-a-anything" he nodded vigorously as he noticed Kara's hands were at the corners of her cape, fiddling around.
It was there she fell completely silent, the red in her face rising further up her cheeks before she looked away shyly with a cute embarrassed expression along with it.
'Oh Rao, Rao. I'm gonna screw this up!' she thought quietly, beginning to get a little overwhelmed by the thought.
Kara cleared her throat, trying to regain her composure as Y/N just looked at her in awe, waiting for her question to be asked. "Um... Would you..." she soon laughed softly with a nervous tone. "Would you... Like to, go out sometime? For lunch, or d-d-dinner perhaps?" she smiled awkwardly before burrowing her face into her hands as Y/N just stared at her with shock written all over his face as she took one look and began stuttering. "Omigod, omigod! You-You don't have to say yes, Steph thought it'd be a great idea for me to-".
"Like a date?" Y/N looked for confirmation if his hearing was deceiving him.
"Y-Yeah. A... A date" she fiddled with her cape even more, bringing the soft fabric out further as she looked down to the floor in sheer awkwardness.
"Yes" he said one word, one word and it completely baffled her. Making her recollect her words and thoughts. "Y-Yes! Of course! I'd... I'd love that".
"Really?" she said with hope in her tone, ecstatic at his answer. Y/N's cheeks flashed red with a smile, nodding towards her gently. "Lunch or... Dinner?" she then asked curiously as he thought about it.
"I think dinner sounds nice" he nodded before thinking on it more. "To be honest? I don't know where to go for dinner though" he chuckled.
"I... I think I have an idea" Kara thought of a brilliant idea before looking at Stephanie, giving her a nod of approval as she rushed over.
"He said yes?!" Stephanie looked like an excited puppy at this point, looking at both of them each second.
"Mhm" they both said in unison before Stephanie hugged the two together in joy and unexpectedly.
"You two are gonna be FREAKING CUTE TOGETHER!! OH MY GOD! WAIT UNTIL I TELL THE OTHERS ABOUT THIS!" she shouted with joy as Y/N held his right ear.
"Calm down, Steph. Any more louder, you're gonna burst my ear-drum" Y/N blurted out.
"What he said, and the last time my one burst was fighting Banshee" Kara added.
Stephanie broke the hug the two were forced into and giggled. "Sorry, I got a little too excited there, did I?".
"A bit, it's nice seeing that side of you" Kara complimented.
"I used to think it was annoying and it still is" Y/N said smugly, as Steph blew a raspberry at him.
"Shut it, you, I just scored you a date with your "super" crush, Kara, my best friend. You owe me" she said with a smug look in her expression.
"Ugh" Y/N groaned. "Bite me".
"Hey, you three!" Just as the two girls giggled, Duke had come back outside to meet with the three with an offer from Pennyworth. "Alfred is making tea, he was wondering if you wanted one or not?" he asked the group.
"Hmm, that sounds nice" Stephanie thought about it. "Yeah, sure!".
"Sounds nice to me as well, could have a cup" Y/N sighed happily, nodding in approval.
"He also offered to make one for you too, Supergirl" Duke then faced the Girl of Tomorrow, who looked blissful at the offer.
However... Just as she was about to reply, her expression changed to that of seriousness, her super hearing picking up commotion happening in Metropolis from where she stood, pushing a strand of blonde hair behind her ear.
"I'm so sorry" she then sighed. "Duty calls, I have to decline, maybe next time though" she said with a disappointed tone before facing towards Y/N. "How does Saturday feel? Six O'clock?" she asked him, grabbing his attention fully when Steph elbowed him gently.
"Uh... Yeah, sure. Saturday would be nice, six is fine with me too" he smiled in her direction as Duke looked at the pair confused.
Stephanie saw this and scooted over to Duke's side. "She asked him out just earlier".
"Already?" he asked her back, with Steph nodding very happily. "Anyways, I'll just let Alfred know to not make a tea for Supergirl" he said, returning to the Manor soon after.
"I'll pick you up" she winked and began hesitating, she then gave in and gave him something to remember her by for now, a cheeky kiss on the cheek as Y/N's eyes widened. Stephanie's jaw dropped with a gasp. "I'll see you on Saturday" Supergirl levitated up, smiling at his expression. "Bye Y/N! Bye Steph! Speak soon!" then... She took off, a sonic boom soon erupting in the sky.
"Oh. My. God?!" Steph approached her brother, looking at the cheek Kara kissed him on. "That was a... Kiss on the cheek! Already!!".
"Why are you so excited about that?" Y/N shook his head with a slight smile, softly placing his fingers where Kara kissed him. "It was just on the cheek" he said with a blush rising up.
"Still! She's into you, man! Like I said. You still owe me though" Stephanie leaned on his shoulder.
"Can you just... Take me to the guest room?".
"Okay... But you will tell me how the date goes on Saturday, or I'll pry it out of Kara" she winked.
"What do I owe you, anyway?" Y/N then asked with a deadpanned look.
"Hmm... You'll see"

✐ Drained | Kara Danvers ✎

Pairing: Kara Danvers x spider!reader
Warnings: angst, cursing, fighting, mentions injuries, and violence
Summary: Kara solar flaring and putting herself in danger over and over again puts a strain on your already fragile relationship. . .
_______________________________________________
“Y/N?” Alex’s voice in my ear makes me flinch and if it weren’t for the fact that I can literally stick to ceilings and walls I would have slipped off the edge of the roof I’m currently standing on. “You good?”
I sigh and lift my hand to my ear. “Yes, I’m okay. Just stopped a bank robbery.”
It was a fairly easy job, considering the robbers immediately surrendered when they saw me.
“Yeah, I saw it on the news, so. . .”
“So?” I play with the mask in my hands and close my eyes, enjoying the night breeze on my face.
“Are you coming back to the tower, or are you planning on spending the rest of the night on a rooftop?” she asks, her voice full of concern. She can see where I am because of the giant digital map back at the tower. What she doesn’t know though is why I’m here. Judging by the looks she’s given me lately, she knows that something is up, but she has yet to figure out what it is.
I scoff bitterly and slip my mask back on. “It’s not like it would matter anyway.”
“What?”
I take a deep breath and swallow the hurt clawing its way up my throat. “Nothing. Forget I said anything. I’m heading back now.”
There’s a short pause on the other end of the line before Alex says, “Okay. See you in a bit then. Swing safe, little one.”
“We’re the same age, Alex, and I’m literally taller than you.” I deadpan, leaping off the building.
My stomach flutters at the feeling of the wind rushing by and for a moment I forget all about why I was brooding in the first place.
“I’m four days older than you” Alex corrects with a chuckle and I can’t help but smile under my mask as I swing through the city.
“Pff. . . tomayto, tomahto.” I swing from building to building, keeping my eyes and ears open for anything suspicious while I make my way back to the tower.
Alex laughs again, trying to convince me that four days are a significant amount of time only to stop mid sentence when an explosion across the city captures both our attention.
“What was that?” I pivot and start swinging in the direction of the explosion, my spider-senses tingling ominously. Alex ignores me, cursing under her breath and typing furiously on a computer. “Alex!”
“Y/N?” J’onn’s calm voice does nothing to assuage my worry, especially not when I can hear Alex shouting something unintelligible in the background.
“What’s happening, J’onn? What’s going on?” I shout over the noise of traffic as I swing across a bridge.
“It’s Supergirl,” he says. “She got caught in an ambush. We’ve already sent out some backup.”
Kara. . .
My heart clenches at the thought of anything happening to her and I force myself to go faster. My arms burn and I’m panting in no time, but the only thought on my mind is that I have to get to Kara before anything else happens.
“They’re never going to get there in time, J’onn! Do we know who’s responsible for this?” Caught up in my own worry, I miscalculate on of my swings, coming dangerously close to swinging into oncoming traffic.
“We don’t know any details yet, but Lena and Brainy are working on it.”
I clench my jaw and force myself to go even faster when another explosion goes off. “Any word from Kara?”
The short silence that follows gives me the answer I’m dreading before J’onn even admits that communication with Kara has been cut off.
“Fuck!” I ignore whatever else J’onn says after that and perform two powerful swing before finally getting to the docks by the river. Sweat is running down my body below the suit and my lungs are burning.
I land on top of a crane and let my eyes dart all over the place until I spot what I’m looking for.
Below me, standing in a circle around Kara in her super suit are four goons, dressed in black combat gear. They have have strange looking guns pointed at her and I realize that every time Kara uses her heat vision, the guns absorb it before shooting it back at her.
Why isn’t she flying away?!
“Nala, what’s going on down there? Why isn’t she fighting back properly?” I ask the AI in my suit, trying to figure out how best to approach this situation without putting Kara in any more danger.
Nala scans the surrounding area before reporting her findings. “I have detected traces of Kryptonite in the air.”
“Shit. . . And how many hostiles are there?” I ask, only now noticing the way the veins in Kara’s face and hands glow a faint green.
“There are four hostiles at the moment but I have detected three more incoming human heat signatures in a lead-lined truck half a mile from here. ETA forty seconds.”
I jump off the crane and swing to a nearby container closer to the ground. “Fuck! They’re going to take her!”
My heart is pounding in my ears and I know that if I don’t act right now, it’s going to be too late, but I can’t think of a plan when all I can focus on are the yelps that escape Kara every time she takes a hit.
“Thirty seconds.” Nala’s says, her robotic voice as calm and rational as ever. “If you don’t do something within the next five seconds the chances of Supergirl being taken increase from 43% to 97%”
“I know, Nala! Shut up, I’m trying to think!”
A particularly strong blow hits Kara’s side and she drops to one knee with a whimper while one of the goons pulls a pair of bulky handcuffs from his pockets.
They wouldn’t normally be able to restrain Kara, but because she’s weakened and on the brink of solar flaring right now they’ll work on her just like they do on any other human being.
“Twenty seven seconds.” Nala reminds me.
“Argh, fuck!” I’m shaking uncontrollably, not knowing what to do.
“Your time to act is running out in three—“
My eyes dart around frantically, trying to spot something that could help me distract them.
“Two—“
There’s nothing. No pipe, no crate, or anything I could fling at them.
“One—“
Before Nala can finish, I leap off the container and swing right at the group below me.
I can’t fight those goons because they’d outnumber me, so a quick getaway is my only plan of action.
“Heads up!” I shout which makes all of them look up in surprise.
At the sight of me, Kara lets out a broken sob of relief and lifts her arms like we’ve practiced a hundred times before.
She does it just in time because not even a second later I slam into her, wrapping one arm around her waist and picking her up mid swing.
“Gotcha!” I readjust my grip on her and focus on swinging us away as her arms tighten around my shoulders. “Hold on, I’m getting us out of here!”
Kara doesn’t answer. She only sobs against my neck and wraps her legs around my hips.
Well, that was easier than I thought it would—
A blow to the back of my left leg makes me howl in pain and I almost miss my next swing. I look over my shoulder and see the goons below chasing us with their guns raised and firing.
“Nala! A little help here!” I screech as I see the lead-lined truck the AI detected earlier barreling towards us.
“Calculating alternative routes. . .”
Another blast from below grazes my shoulder, making me grit my teeth. “Oh my God?! What are you? My car’s GPS?! Tell me where to go!”
I take a sharp right turn and head for the city, now finally out of range of the goon’s on foot. The lead-lined truck however has turned down the same way we did and is now hot on our tail.
I can’t get higher because all I can swing off of are these containers and I can’t go any faster because I have Kara in my arms.
That reminds me, since picking her up she hasn’t said a single thing and her grip around me has also loosened considerably.
“Nala, what’s wrong with Supergirl?” I ask, doing my best to dodge the bullets that are being fired at us from below.
“It seems the Kryptonian has passed out.”
Great, she’s solar flared. . .
I grunt and readjust her in my arm. “Is she injured?”
“Yes, but she should make a full recovery as soon as her powers have returned.”
The gunfire from below suddenly stops and when I look down I see that the truck has come to a stop in front of a superficial police barricade.
Officers are swarming the place, ducking behind car doors and aiming their guns at the truck, screaming at the goons to step out with their hands behind their head.
“J’onn.” I breathe in relief when I realize that this is the backup he mentioned earlier.
I try to get my comms device working again, having no idea when it stopped working in the first place, but it doesn’t turn back on, so I just continue making my way into the city toward the tower.
Now that the imminent threat of being shot has been eliminated though, I slow down considerably and focus on keeping my swings as smooth as possible in case Kara wakes up.
Someone squeezing my hand makes me stir in my chair. I groan and open my eyes, feeling a dull ache on my shoulder and the back of my leg where I was hit by the goons.
“Baby. . .” Kara’s soft voice makes me shoot up in my chair and when I look down at her on the bed I find her blue eyes already on me. She smiles softly and squeezes my hand again. “Hey.”
“Hi, how are you feeling?” I ask quietly. I reach forward and push the sun lamps up enough for her to sit up carefully.
“Like shit,” she admits with a small chuckle.
I scoff and let go of her hand, burying it in my lap. If she’d said that three months ago, I would have laughed and kissed the back of her hand playfully, but since then, things have changed.
Three months ago, sitting in the med bay next to Kara was a very rare occurrence. Nowadays though, it’s almost a daily occurrence.
She’s constantly taking unnecessary risks and on the off-chance that she’s not out superheroing, she stays up late at the office to finish an article, or write a news segment.
I can’t remember the last time we slept in the same bed, much less when we shared a meal together. Our relationship is barely even a relationship anymore, and tonight has honestly been my last straw.
Frowning at the way I pulled my hand out of her grasp, Kara sits up straighter. “Hey, what’s wrong?”
Tears prick my eyes and I dig my fingernails into my palms. “What’s wrong?! Are you kidding me, Kara? This is the third time you’ve solar flared this week! You were almost kidnapped and I was shot twice saving you!”
“Y-You’re hurt?” She squints, presumably to use her x-ray vision on me, but then she realizes her powers have yet to return. “Are you—“
“This isn’t about me!” I cut in, my voice getting louder. “You keep putting yourself in these situations and I can’t for the life of me understand why. What’s going on with you? Why are you doing this?”
Kara gapes at me, her frown deepening. “Y/N. . .My Love . .”
I shake my head and get up, pacing at the foot of her bed. “No, Kara. I want answers. What’s going on with you? Does it have anything to do with me?” I ask, my voice shaking. “Did I do something wrong? Is that why you’re never home? Are you being reckless to prove something, or—“
“No, you didn’t do anything,” she insists. “I promise. This has nothing to do with you.”
I stop and turn to look at her. Her blue eyes are shining with tears and her chin is quivering.
“Then what is it?” I use the sleeve of the hoodie Alex gave me earlier after cleaning my wounds to wipe away my tears.
Kara clenches and unclenches her jaw as if she’s struggling to admit something. “Y/N, it’s not— I mean, you didn’t— I know things have been a lot lately, but-“ she runs a hand through her hair and sighs. “I don’t know what’s going on with me.”
If that isn’t the biggest lie she’s ever told then I don’t know what is. She’s a horrible liar and even if I didn’t hear the telltale sound of her heart stuttering just now, I’d still know she was lying just by seeing the guilty look on her face.
I stare at her for a moment, wondering when everything started to go this wrong between us before hanging my head low and turning to leave. “Well, I guess you better start figuring it out then because I can’t do this anymore, Kara.”
“W-What?” she stutters. I hear her trying to get up to follow me before groaning and falling back into bed. “Are you serious?”
“Yes.” I reach for the door handle without looking back.
“Wait!” Her voice falters and when she sniffles I have to force myself not to turn back and comfort her. “Are you. . . Are you breaking up with me?”
I swallow harshly and open the door. “No, not yet anyway.”
I leave before she can say anything else and make my way to the tower’s main room where J’onn, Alex, and Nia are sitting around the coffee table.
“Hey, are you okay?” Nia asks when she sees the distress on my face.
I just shake my head and make my way to the elevator. “No. Alex?”
The older Danvers who’s also watching me with concern gets to her feet. “Yeah?”
“Tell your sister to pull herself together,” I say before stepping onto the elevator.
I see J’onn raise an eyebrow at the interaction and share a glance with Nia before the doors slide closed.
Kara might be the one who solar flared, but I could bet a hundred bucks I’m more drained than she is right now.
This has been quite some time in the making now, and I know it’s no longer up to me how things will turn out from here on out.
It’s in Kara’s hands now and if our relationship is as important to her as it is to me, she will have to prove it.
