Ok so Danny has essentially claimed earth as his. And he is fully aware that there are constant threats to the planet. Now he can’t stop a threat that originates on earth (that’s something he’ll leave to the Justice league) but he can do something about outside threats. Doing some research on ancient spells, rituals, and artifacts, he cast a world wide barrier on the planet to protect it from hostile threats so they cannot enter. This will prevent another Pariah Dark incident. However, barriers like this come at a price. You see, there are two ways to make a barrier. Either make one powered up by your own energy and power (which would be constantly draining) or set up a barrier with rules. The way magic works is that nothing can be absolutely indestructible. It must have a weakness. The most powerful barriers weren’t the ones reinforced with layer after layer of protective charms and buffed up with power. Those could eventually be destroyed either by being overpowered, wearing them down, or by cutting off the original power source. No, the most powerful barriers were the ones with a deliberate weakness. A barrier indestructible except for one spot. A cage that can only be opened from the outside. Or that can only be passed with a key or by solving a riddle. So Danny chooses this type of barrier and does the necessary ritual and pours in enough power to make it. And he adds his condition for anyone to enter.
Now the Justice league? Find out about the barrier when Trigon attempts to attack, they were preparing after he threatened what he would do once he got to earth. How he would destroy them. The Justice league tried to take the fight to him first but were utterly destroyed, so they retreated home to tend to their injuries, and fortify earth for one. Last. Stand. Only when Trigon makes his big entrance…he’s stopped.
The Justice league watch in awe as this thin see-through barrier with beautiful green swirls and speckled white lights like stars apears blocking Trigon and his army’s advance. The barrier looks so thin and fragile yet no matter how hard the warlord hits, none of his attacks can get through and neither can he damage said barrier. That’s when Constantine and Zatanna recognizes what this barrier is. Something only a powerful entity could create. For a moment, the league is filled with hope that Trigon can’t get through yet Constantine also explains that it’s not impenetrable. And clearly Trigon knows this too for he calls out a challenge.
And that’s when, in a flash of light, a tiny glowing teenager appears. He looked absolutly minuscule compared to Trigon and yet practically glowed with power (this isn’t a King Danny AU though).
And that is when the conditions for passing the barrier are revealed. And the Justice realize that the only thing stopping Trigon and his army from decimating earth. The only way he can get through….is by beating this glowing teenager in a card game.
Not just any card game though. The most convoluted game Sam, Danny, and Tucker invented themselves. It’s like the infinite realms version of magic the gathering, combined with Pokémon, and chess. And Danny is the master. So sit down Trigon and let’s play.
(The most intense card game of the Justice league’s life).
After Danny wins, this happens a few more times with outer word beings and possibly even demons attempting to invade earth, yet none have been able to beat the mysterious teenager in a card game. Constantine might even take a crack at it and try to figure out how to play. He’s really bad though. Every time this happens, the Justice league worry that this might be the time the teenager looses. Yet every time, he wins (even if only barely).
Meanwhile, Danny, Sam, and Tucker have gotten addicted to the game and play it almost daily. Some teachers might seem them playing the game are are like ‘awww how cute’ not realizing this game is literally saving the world. Jazz is just happy they aren’t spending as much time on their screens playing Doomed.
I think zelda would be the type to keep sketches and research notes in her journals along with the more personal notes we see in totk/botw :) (also yes i did write several paragraphs entirely in the hylian alphabet and no i dont remember what the hell they say. good luck figuring it out)
I also would like people to give more appreciation to the great thematic unity in all of The Lord of the Rings. The idea is “do what good you can with what you are given.” Usually your abilities and your chances seem horribly small, even though your responsibility is so enormous. The minutes, the little decisions, the days, the small towns, the small characters, matter the most. The fate of the whole big world of good and evil and languages and races and heroes and villains all hangs on what’s done by a little scholar and his gardener.
Any language where it is not spoken commonly every day is considered a dead language and every ghost can speak it. Kryptonion is one of those languages, so when the planet Krypton along with her people died so did the language.
12 years go by and 12 year old Danny is on the run from the GIW with his sister and parents. They settle down on a farm and get Danny enrolled in school where he becomes friends with Clark Kent. Clark was one day acting a little upset and Danny wanted to help in anyway he could.
Clark was muttering to himself, specifically what that apparition that showed up in the weird ship he apparently arrived in. He just wanted to know what it meant. Danny understood him though.
How do you deal with terms/sayings/phrases that wouldn’t necessarily exist in a fantasy universe? Like how strict are you on a scale of ‘eh just say it’s the narrator translating to an equivalent term’ to ‘no they cannot say goodbye because that is short for god be with you’
Just asking because I saw a poster with sayings/words that Shakespeare invented and realised how many common phrases wouldn’t exist without him.
there are very few things in this world I am blessed with the power to effortlessly not give a fuck about and thankfully this is one of those things
It's based on circles. The Gray ones (like the A E O etc.) are addons to the black circles. For example, L is a circle with two straight lines, but LO is a circle with two straight lines and a small triangle on the top.
You build a word by drawing circles, one inside another to create patterns such as in the one in the picture above. the picture also shows how the addons work in practice.
To write a sentence you have to put the words in a vertical line. It should be read from up to down and every sentence is ended with a period. I tried to make this look like a solar system map so it can look more futuristic/alienish. I hope you like the idea. I'll try to make a whole language out of it so wish my luck :3
there are so many words that I have only ever heard from my professor's mouth. if he hasn't told us and it's not in the two (2) pdf sources his institution has provided, i'm fucked
I was thinking about what different Sonic characters' names could be in sign a couple of months ago, since so many people headcanon Sonic knowing sign language, and I ended up making animations for a few!! Here's what I came up with for Sonic!! :D
mp4 version & description for it under the cut!!
[ID:
A video of Sonic The Hedgehog viewed from the waist-up against a green background. Sonic is drawn in a simplistic style, though with tanner patches of skin on his muzzle, ears, stomach, and arms compared to his typical design, and he has curved scars on his chest.
In the video, Sonic is signing his name, comprised of the words ‘fast’ and ‘hedgehog’ in BSL. He signs ‘fast’ by bouncing his index fingers off of each other—his right finger coming down as his left goes up—with the other fingers and thumb curled in. “fast” is written in dark green on the left side of the background as he signs this.
The word in the background changes to “Hedgehog” as he signs the second part. His raised right hand opens up so that his fingers and thumb are all splayed, while the lowered left hand curls into a fist. The left arm moves horizontal in front of his chest, and the splayed right hand lowers to run the heel of the palm across the top of the forearm, to symbolise the spines of a hedgehog. Lifting his right elbow up to move the palm across the other arm obscures the “Hedgehog” lettering slightly.
Sonic's head moves as he signs, spines bouncing up and down and head tilting to the left. While he’s signing, he mouths his name, the first syllable ‘So’ being mouthed during the ‘fast’ sign, and the second syllable ‘nic’ being mouthed during the ‘hedgehog’ sign.
On the right side of the video, next to Sonic’s head, is the artist’s signature—the silhouette of a bongo with the letters BD written inside.
WAIT I NEVER SHARED MY GARY ROACH SANDERSON HEADCANON
*coughs* anyway
I like to think that Roach was a military brat. Like, raised on bases. At least on of his parents was in the army so he grew up on bases and moved around with his parent. He is super cultured but also he doesn’t really have a culture he subscribes to - because he moved around so much. He grew up everywhere and nowhere and has all the quirks that comes along with it.
If you ever ask Roach where he is from he just gives a 100 mile stare. He doesn’t know how to answer that question.
I'll be honest, I'm actually still working on the themes even as I post this. 😅 Can't really explain why, but just letting everyone know that any tardiness on my part is something I take full accountability for. Forgive me!
First date is to an amusement park~! But whoops, looks like someone lost balance! Hopefully there's a first aid kit in that backpack of his, otherwise Ash will be dealing with a pretty bad sting~

By now I think many people have heard that KristSingto’s upcoming series is an original script that was written for them. What we also have confirmed is that it was written about them.
[source]
KRIST: This series was written by P'Backaof and directed by P'Lit where they created this script from the start deliberately for the two of us and they got information for the characters etc. from KristSingto directly. In the series, the name for P'Sing is Tamtawan, and my name is Phatapi. And Tamtawan Tamtawan and Phatapi are KristSingto themselves.
INTERVIEWER: Does that mean you play yourself?
KRIST: [laughing] Yes, we act as ourselves, so it's not difficult at all.
Today, Aof elaborated on his part on Twitter:

So, two gay men are the leading creative minds behind KristSingto’s comeback series. Time to study up on your KristSingto history, kids. \:D/
Been slowly learning ASL over the years for my niece and I might still struggle to introduce myself or express basic emotions, but oh boy do I ever have the sign for every animal she's ever laid eyes on memorized better than my own name.
