Been reading/listening to Sandra Brown’s Texas! romances the last few weeks to give my brain a break from so much clinical work, and I’m kind of obsessed with the Tyler family. All their hollering and yelling and storming out of rooms, their unhinged levels of horniness. these people will NEVER go to therapy. incredibly soothing. I will miss them.

Art there ancient swirls of fantastical colors hiding at the corners of Roland’s eyes, and without that heady stink of sex and fetid perfumes wouldst Roland gander ‘tis one his chosen Gods: Sheogorath, ancient Entity of multicolored butterflies … but the wine is too tart, the sugar too splendiferous, and that taste of flesh still radiates upon the belly of Roland’s tongue like the buzz of a swollen honeybee.

WIP WIP WIP drawing a Modern Helsa AU that I haven’t thought about in a long time
I was a dumb teenager who boldly proclaimed that I’d make a modern Helsa AU novel a few years ago after assessing the shortcomings of Frozen 2, but then I got bored and never actually did it. However, I recently came across some of my old brainstorming and got inspired again, so I thought I might share some sketches that I was working on tonight.
This AU was called "Queens" (in reference to Elsa and Anna's royal status) and the basic idea is that Irene Everett (Elsa) is a graphic designer living in Queens, NY, in the late 80s-early 90s trying to be a single parent to her son, Oliver (Olaf) and that her sister Allison (Anna) and her boyfriend Joshua Borden (Kristoff) all help co-parent since Irene has to work late. Irene eventually runs into Hank Weston (Hans), working as a janitor at her job. He's trying to rebuild his life after spending time in prison for endangering Irene and Allison during a car accident and for driving drunk. Hank and Irene reconnect and form a relationship through trial and tribulation, romance and drama, and all that ensues.
If you wanna read up on what the full premise was, check out this old, silly post I made in the link here. Will I pursue it further? Who knows at this point, don’t believe a word I say. 🙃
Also BONUS because aaaaarrrmmms.... 🫠🤤

EMO vs MALL EMO vs SCENE vs SCENECORE
i see a lot of confusion and arguments around what is emo/scene or not so i wanted to make this blog as a fan of most of these genres to hopefully help clarify a little!
EMO this genre is the ORIGINAL emo, although it sounds completely different from the emo music most people know today. it originated in the DC hardcore scene in the mid-80s, spawning from post-hardcore and hardcore and gained more popularity in the 90s. bands include: rites of spring, sunny day real estate, moss icon, cap'n jazz, the get up kids,
if you want to listen to some emo music, here's a spotify playlist i recommend!
MALL EMO mall emo is what most people think of when they hear the word emo. i call it mall emo (not sure if others do or not but i think it's most fitting) because it's the bands whose merch you would find somewhere like hot topic or spencer's(not a dig at mall emo i love this genre so much). it's the music genre(s) associated with the emo style and gained a ton of popularity in the 2000s. bands include my chemical romance, falling in reverse, all time low, panic! at the disco, fall out boy, paramore, pierce the veil, sleeping with sirens, evanescence, escape the fate, flyleaf, taking back sunday etc.
here's a playlist (i know it says actual emo music, i think they mean actual mall emo music as opposed to like yungblud + tx2 type shit)
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: EMO AND MALL EMO ARE NOT THE SAME THING!!!!! however, getting mad at someone for thinking mall emo is real emo is kind of pointless. because of the popularity of the emo style, the word has evolved to more assosciated with mall emo in pop culture than real emo. most people don't know the difference and that's not like a personal failing on their part that you need to be rude about! if/when you explain it to someone, be respectful! i'm looking at you, garrett!
SCENE scene is a subculture within emo, with its own more colorful version of the same fashion elements, that gained popularity in the late 2000s/early 2010s. there are a lot of different music genres within the scene subculture but the ones people most think of is crunkcore, which is a mix between electronic, hiphop, rap, and metal. bands include: dot dot curve, ismfof, attack attack!, millionaires, brokencyde, metro station, the medic droid, kill paradise, chunk! no captain chunk!, jj demon, breathe carolina, 3OH!3 etc
SCENECORE scenecore is a subgenre of hyperpop that originated on tiktok. it uses the aesthetic of the scene subculture a lot, and scene related things are often mentioned in the songs. however, the difference between scene lyrics and scenecore lyrics is that while scene music mostly has lyrics about sex, drugs, love, partying, clubbing etc scenecore lyrics are oftentimes about self harm or other harmful behavior or weirdly fetishize scene people. this is a problem because it's essentially just harmful stereotypes about scene trying to perpetuate itself as actual scene music. bands include: 6arelyhuman, kets4eki, odetari, rebzyyx, d3r, asteria, luvwillow, etc.
here's a playlist
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: SCENECORE IS NOT IN ANY WAY SCENE. scenecore isn't even related to the scene style like mall emo is, it's just hyperpop! if you want to get into scene, do your research!! listen to recommendations from actual scene kids!! 6arelyhuman is not scene!!!!!

Welcome to the MetalSandwich/Harringroveson Movie Event! I hope everyone will have a good time and make new friends as we create or appreciate the cool stuff that comes out of this event!
After a movie night with some friends on discord where we watched The Lost Boys, the idea came about to me to have a Week, seven days with a prompt for each day, with the date and prompts announced months in advance so everyone has time to make something for it!
The prompts for it will be focused on movies from the 70s/80s/90s! After an interest check and vote, the date decided was October 10th-16th! I hope everyone will have enough time and fun for this to become an annual event!
Tag for the event is #MetalSandwichMovies23
The Official Prompts!
(I decided to skip voting for this in the name of time and energy, but I was as thorough as I could be to ensure there was something for everyone!)

How strict do we have to stick to the prompts?
Good question! With the variety and freedom of the prompts I hope you'll have plenty of wiggle room. And maybe you don't feel any movie au in particular but still want to participate? Maybe the boys just have a movie night watching a movie of your choice or they're actors! Who knows, you do! ;) I just want everyone to have fun. If you'd like any movie suggestions, let us know and we'll make a post!
I might run a little late in posting? Is that okay?

[On my stomach, kicking my feet and twirling my hair] can I hear about your sleazy neo-noir story please?
Okay! Well! Hahaha!
It started when I attempted to read some e-published dark mafia romances, and couldn't quite find one to my taste. This isn't an insult towards the genre, but when it comes to deliberately fucked up romance, my id is a very hard creature to please and very easy to throw off. (Same goes for old school bodice rippers.)
So, I asked myself, what would I write? How about something with both a good boy and a bad boy? How about trying to channel neo-noir and the late-80s early-90s 'erotic thriller' genre like Bound or Body Heat?
Thus, the premise: The innocent sister of a gangster is taken hostage by a mob boss, and he hires a private detective to get her back. The detective and the hostage fall in love in the process, and have their own messed-up psychosexual baggage. Great! I don't know if it will end up novel or even novella length, but I can work with that! It's mostly a close personal story of Natalie Azimov, sweet natured vet tech, habituate of bdsm clubs, and damsel in distress; David Julian, incorruptible private detective with a flexible sexuality and a dangerous level of empathy; and Ewan Byrne, sadistic and obsessive gangster whose friendly boyish facade hides a diabolical interior. A couple thousand words came and went easily!
At which point I went "Uh oh, am I writing Blue Velvet?"

I feel like late 80's, early 90's movies were sooooo sexually motivated and unhinged omg. About a month ago, I rewatched the first 2 Die Hard films. As expected, my crush on Rickman and Irons came crashing back. Okay, now I'm watching both their early films and --- there is some really spicy stuff happening. The ones that stood out the most starring Alan: Close My Eyes (1991) and An Awfully Big Adventure (1995). Absolutely insane. Unexpected. No holding back in the bedroom. As for Jeremy: Damage (1992), and Dead Ringers (1988). Essentially soft porn with a plot. Every other scene includes a verrry candid camera. I always considered both actors to be very conservative in terms of on-screen intimacy. Only because in their later films, their roles are very distinguished and usually diverge from romance. IMAGINE MY SURPRISE WHEN I TRAVERSED INTO THEIR EARLY MOVIE CATALOGUES. These men are actually wild.
I just wanted to share my findings with you. What are your thoughts?
Alan is generally sexually motivated and unhinged and we love that for him 🙂‍↕️

Great Guitarists 100 - Brian May, Angus Young, Johnny Ramone, and Tom Verlaine [CROSSBEAT (November 2009)]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brian May An essential part of the Brian May story is his self-made guitar, known as the 'Red Special' because of its red body. It was completed by the 16-year-old and his father, who was an engineer, using wood from a century-old fireplace, and attracted a lot of attention at the time of Queen's debut as a 'magic guitar' that could produce violin and horn sounds in addition to the original sound of the guitar. The sound was ridiculed as that of a synthesiser, so it is famous that the band always stated 'no synthesiser' on their early albums. His two albums, 'Sheer Heart Attack', with its Tsugaru shamisen-like interplay, and 'A Night at the Opera', which includes the classic 'Bohemian Rhapsody', a jazz band-style clarinet and even the British national anthem, are two of his best-known albums. A masterpiece where you can enjoy "guitar orchestration". His solo work 'Back to the Light', you can hear the relaxed and unique tearful phrases typical of his love of Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix. It's also unique in that he uses a sixpence coin to produce it, rather than a regular pick. There are many artists who have been influenced by him not only in the guitar but also in the construction of the sound world, such as Green Day and My Chemical Romance for the dramatic side, and Foo Fighters for the hard rock side of his music. -Ikuyo Kotani
Representative albums "Sheer Heart Attack" (1974, photo) Queen "A Night at the Opera" (1975) "Back to the Light" (1992) Brian May
Angus Young Today he is universally recognised as a "rock 'n' roll guitar icon", but it wasn't that long ago that the true nature of Angus Young's guitar playing came to be appreciated in its own right. That's because AC/DC were treated as more metal than they should have been. They were too classically uninspired to be called heavy metal, and their playing was too bluesy and dated to be classified as punk. Therefore, I don't think his playing has ever been properly introduced, especially in countries like Japan, which likes to define its own musical categories. The source of Angus' playing can be traced back to the British beat of the 1960s, with blues-tinged garage bands such as the early Stones, The Yardbirds and Them. The Easybeats, with which his own brother George was a member, were also active in the mod circles at the time. The musical elements thus imbibed were even closer to pub rock than metal, so much so, in fact, that when AC/DC first entered the UK, the record company tried to market them as a punk band. His ironclad riff playing became a standard hip-hop sampling after the heyday of metal in the 70s and 80s, and has been found universal by the grunge generation of the 90s and the new garage generation of the 00s. -Sawada Taiyo
Representative albums "If You Want Blood You've Got It" (1978, photo) AC/DC "Back in Black" (1980) "Black Ice" (2008), same
Johnny Ramone A combination of gruff down-picking and concise riffs, no wonder he used to be a bassist. Of course, he doesn't play guitar solos. It's not that he had an idea, it's just that when he formed the band, that's all he could do, I suppose. But by mastering the only thing they could do, it became their unique personality. And what Johnny Ramone had done became the theory that "when you play punk, you need taste and guts, not necessarily technique". He is credited with getting a lot of young people to pick up the guitar and say, "If that's the case." To get an idea of the Ramones' rich musicality, it is necessary to listen to their mid- and late-period works. However, when it comes to the charm of the guitar, the three early albums with their bare-bones sound, namely 'Ramones', 'Leave Home' and 'Rocket to Russia', are the best examples of this. The Ramones' sound was perfected with these three albums and never rusted over the next two decades. No, on the contrary, it is now established as the Ramones punk genre. It goes without saying that the core of the band is Johnny's playing, who has been playing Mosrite guitars all his life. -Tomoo Yamaguchi
Representative albums "Ramones" (1976, photo) The Ramones "Leave Home" (1977) "Rocket to Russia" (1977)
Tom Verlaine Television was one of the leading figures of 70s New York punk, and had a huge influence on the later grunge/alternate and post-punk revival. The band released only two original albums and a live album before reuniting in 1992, and at the time sales were lacklustre, but today they are a charismatic presence that is recognised by all. The main attraction of the band was Tom Verlaine's innovative guitar sound. His trademarks were the Fender Jazzmaster and Jaguar. At a time when Gibson Les Pauls and Fender Stratocasters were at their height, these guitars were regarded as somewhat outdated models, but they attracted many musicians with their unique playing style, which involved wiggling the tremolo arm and applying a spasmodic vibrato. The ensemble with another guitarist, Richard Lloyd (who later teamed up with Robert Quine for many great performances), was also a vital part of the band, and their interplay on "Marquee Moon" was particularly impressive. After the band broke up, Tom started his solo career. He took on new challenges such as incorporating reggae into his music, while still delivering a sharp guitar sound. -Takanori Kuroda
Representative albums "Marquee Moon (1977, photo) Television "Adventure" (1978) "The Blow-Up" (1982)
Translator's Note: The only other reason that I'm translating this article, besides Matt, is because of Brian May. I love my soft intelligent men with curly hair 🥺💕

Hey guys, we're posting some Rogue today because X-Men 97 is here, a show I don't think I care much about except here I am posting Rogue because at the end of the day I deeply care about the X-Men in a way you can only really care about things that were a formative part of your existence. The show is likely to not be for me, it will sort of annoy me because I have a pretty negative reaction to nostalgia and don't watch shows for children so whichever way it goes, a kids cartoon or Gen X nostalgia bait I am expecting to not love it but it is the X-Men so it will be a thing I will be aware of and hear about and on some level care about no matter what. In the 1960's and early 1970's all the horniest comic book fans read Legion of Superheroes, which sounds crazy to anyone who is currently googling Legion of Superheroes but it was basically written as a romance comic set in a sci-fi future with teenage superheroes so it encouraged legions of adoring, horny fans who wrote the earliest versions of fan fiction. Anyway, by the late 1970's that had shifted to the X-Men. The X-Men were where the horniest fandom was and that persisted for a long time. It was still true when I was a kid and no doubt that infected me. Among the many characters I had a crush on, Rogue was one and it helped that she was hot cause they're all hot but she was also the horny character through the 80's. I mean, she was a teenager who couldn't be touched and spent all her time wishing she could be touched and it wasn't that subtle. Horny was one of her main character traits. Anyway, we are posting 90's Rogue today and the attraction there that I had and many, many a fan had is maybe not great. I will forgive myself and others though because I was 13 and shy and still discovering things. We all make mistakes but we grow and improve. The X-Men has always been metaphorically strong and it never works as a one to one comparison, which is a good part of it's strength. It's no longer a metaphor then, it's an analogy and not only does it lose it's power, it loses it's power then. The strength is the flexibility, that a writer can write a story that is representative of a specific experience (or maybe different experiences, this is the joy of art) and the next writer can write about a different one. This is the joy of art. It is why so many teenagers are drawn to the comic, because for all it's civil rights metaphors, it's also just about a group of unaccepted outsiders who hit adolescences and suddenly the world feels hostile. Everyone feels like an unaccepted outsider at some point as a teenager and everyone feels like the world hates them at some point.
Among the X-Men, in the early days, Rogue was an outsider among outsiders. She wasn't liked or accepted and I think a lot of people connected with that feeling. Even among the freaks I am unloved. But then we get to the part where she couldn't be touched. She was desperate for it and it was common enough in fan fiction that I know it was not a unique thought for many a lonely teenager to essentially have the thought, "But if I could touch her. If I was the only one then she'd have to choose me". Not great and no one phrased it that way but it's a big part of why she was one of the most fantasized about X-Men. She's desperate, I have a chance. It's wild that a fictional character we still need to come up with reasons to disappoint ourselves. Psylocke wouldn't have given us the time of day but what options does Rogue have? It's awful but we were kid. She also was brash and loud and funny and heroic. She was compelling because she was the first to rush into battle often and throw a punch, often a big mistake because Rogue fans might not like me saying this, traditionally she is not as smart as she thinks she is. I am not calling her dumb but she strikes me as the type who thinks she's a genius when she thinks of some trick that everyone on Earth has thought of before. It's also why she's great. She's someone with a really big heart and a lot of empathy for others, she has to, she's had it hard and the option there is bitter villain or kind hero. She became a hero because of her innate goodness. And 90's Rogue was great. She was best friends with a very clearly closeted Iceman and offered him support against his bigoted parents. And there is the savage land bikini. Anyway, that's all why she is here, cause I love the X-Men and I adore her. When I assemble my brains version of the best X-Men teams, she's on 3 of my favorite teams. That's pretty good. Today I want to fuck Rogue.

I've been thinking about that OnK/Parahumans crossover idea more.
We still know frustratingly little about how Ai's relationship with Hikaru went; we can make some guesses, but nothing concrete. So I thought about the two things that don't depend on Hikaru at all: The timeline and Ai's power.
As mentioned last time, I decided that my ideas for Ai's power centered around Leviathan, who destroyed Kyushu in 1999. I was thinking of having Ai be one of the inaugural Wards, but the Wards definitely existed by 1998, and probably existed by the late 80's/early 90's, so that's...well, I guess I could just ignore some part of the timeline. But I'd rather just make Ai's debut its own big event, wherever she ends up.
OnK's timeline is vague, but if we speedrun through Ai's romance, maybe Ruby and Aqua could be born in 2000 or 2001. Presumably, Ai would get murdered some time in the mid-oughts. More importantly, it means the twins would be tweens when the world ends, so unless I decide to focus on Ai (definitely a possibility), this would be a post-GM fic.
Ai's Trigger Event & Powers
Last time, the power I settled on was "something with power-copying fairy things". And I don't really like that. It's vague, it's complicated, and most importantly, it doesn't have either an "This kid could be the next Eidolon!" vibe or a "This kid could be dangerous!" vibe.
So let's work backwards. What power am I looking for?
I'm thinking, something that takes powers, but can give them back too. Ai takes, say, 8% of your power, and in a week's time she gives you back 10%, keeping 2% for herself. Or some other set of numbers, or some other pattern. She slowly gets stronger over time, she can make other heroes stronger, but she could also just weaken all the heroes around her and run.
As per the Trump document, the kind of Trump trigger that gives power-borrowing powers focuses on the mental/emotional relationship the parahuman has to powers. So while the aftermath of Leviathan's attack is still there, still influences her trigger, it's not the focus.
Let's say that Ayumi (Ai's mom) and/or her unnamed boyfriend worked for the Sentai Elite or some other hero team. Little Ai hence got to see more superheroes than most people, and became familiar with one hero in specific. Let's call her Blue Kōri (following Black Kaze's naming scheme even though we don't know whether she's an ex-Sentai or not, but c'mon, that's a Super Sentai name).
Anyways, Ayumi gets stranded somewhere with her daughter and boyfriend due to Leviathan's floodwaters. She spots Blue Kōri coming by, making a bridge of ice across the waters, and quickly sends Ai into their improvised shelter to get stuff. While she's out of sight, Ayumi and her boyfriend leave with Kōri, without Ai.
Ai feels a sense of betrayal and abandonment, mostly from her mom but also the other two adults, at least one of whom should have known better. As with her canon counterpart, Ai feels certain that the things done to her were done because she's unlovable. So she triggers, grabbing a fragment of Blue Kōri's power without realizing what she's done. (And without Kōri noticing, because she's distracted by a swell or something.)
Post-Trigger
Ai ends up with the power to take a fragment of other parahumans' powers, which manifest in the form of little glowing things that Ai calls fairies. The fragments grow slowly on their own, eventually splitting. (Conflicted about whether they should just grow or whether they should mutate slightly when they split. Does Ai have remarkable power, or remarkable versatility? Doesn't really matter at this point in planning, though.)
Eventually, Ai figures out that she has a little bit of ice power. Once she figures out how to use it, she tries to escape on a teeny ice raft with the supplies Ayumi told her to fetch. Ai eventually washes up in a populated area, and gets noticed by Ichigo or an equivalent. She gets inducted into a hero team (foreign if we want to use recognizable canon characters, local if we don't), and settles into the "ideal superhero" role by a combination of external Concern about an unfettered power-thief and internal fears of being hated or abandoned or unworthy of love.
And I'm not sure how much more I can write without a bit more data on Hikaru.

May-June 1974. In a 1984 interview in AMAZING HEROES magazine, Denny O'Neil, who wrote the main story in this issue, asserted that he "certainly didn't think there was any romance" between Batman and Catwoman. "There's respect and even affection," he said, "but not romance." This was of course a completely ludicrous statement given the history of the Catwoman character even up to 1974, and probably one of the reasons this story isn't very good. It's not AS bad as O'Neil's subsequent Catwoman outing in BATMAN #266 (which also features some pointless and offensive anti-Roma stereotyping), but as that interview suggests, O'Neil never seemed to get Catwoman, which probably also has something to do with why he later tried so hard to scuttle the romance between Bruce and Selina — to the point that there were a number of years (in the late '80s and early '90s) where it wasn't clear if they had even met since the events of "Batman: Year One."
What makes O'Neil's statement especially dumb with regard to this particular issue is that his story ends like this:
Tumblr media
What do you call that? Would Bruce be moping this way about a woman for whom he felt only grudging respect and possibly chaste affection? (Also, Bruce's contention that Catwoman "always causes evil" is remarkably unfair given the actual circumstances of this story, which involve a circus performer murdering his circus colleague out of misguided jealousy over Selina — who was only there to steal/liberate the circus's two white tigers — and then attempting to pin the murder on her out of spite.)

Writeblr Introduction | Morana Warrin
I have finally created a Tumblr for my writing. I haven't been on here since I just got internet access (around 2013 so you can probably guess the things I saw) but I need a place to throw all my ideas at a wall and watch as they trickle down into a puddle of lost nights of sleep and aesthetic pinterest boards.
▸ About
▸My name is Morana, I would prefer they/them pronouns but, to be frank, I do not care what you refer to me as. I have been writing for a long time (too long if you ask some people) but in the past three years, I have been taking the profession much more seriously in hopes of starting a career. Besides being a writer and a threat to modern society, I also dabble in drawing/graphic design and character design.
▸I adore 19th-century Russian literature (Mikhail Bulgakov is my personal favourite) and absurdist texts. There isn't a moment of my day when I'm not listening to some sort of music, I do not discriminate genres in the slightest but I am partial to rock and its many subgenres. I love any 90s and early 2000s movies, early Hollywood horror flicks, and Soviet films from the 80s.
▸ Current Projects
(I am horrible at summaries so please take pity on me. also check TWs)

The Resurrectioners
You only live twice.
(TW: Mentions of s*icide)
After the deaths of her two sisters in a car crash, twenty-seven-year-old Samara Dombroski decides that her life is no longer worth living and makes a successful attempt at her own life. Only there's one problem:
She doesn’t stay dead for very long.
An indeterminate amount of time later, Samara wakes up in a strange, vast estate plagued by visions of the past that she can’t control. She learns that this place is run by a man known only as The Resurrectionist, a necromancer armed with a group of assassins possessing strange abilities called Resurrectioners, an eclectic group of individuals who all share her story: people who found death by their own hand or by some other tragic means.
Now a resurrectioner herself, Samara must repay the debt of her second chance at life to The Resurrectionist by disposing of cadavers for him: violent, ghoulish beings that result from misused necromancy who feast on flesh and bone. Once she has killed enough to satisfy The Resurrectionist, she will be released from the estate she is trapped in and free to live the rest of her life.

The Stray Girls
It's not drugs that are killing these teens.
(TW: Mentions of drugs and alcohol)
Set in the fictional city of Maynard, The Stray Girls is a retelling of The Lost Boys centred around a cast of troubled teen girls set 10 years later in 1997'.
After once again deciding to move across the country with her daughters, Magdelena's mother decides that cheap rent is worth more than her daughter's lives when she moves to Maynard, Washington— which currently boasts the largest missing girl population in the country. While settling into their new home, Magda notices her elder sister Roxanne is beginning to act strange: leaving the house in the middle of the night, wearing sunglasses indoors, and sleeping all day. First suspecting it to be drugs, Magda thinks nothing of it, but as time goes on and her sister's personality makes a sudden shift in the wrong direction, she can no longer pretend like everything is alright. Meeting the group of troubled girls that her sister now calls 'friends' slowly leads her down a path of crime, thrill and peer pressure. But it's not booze that these girls are drinking: it's blood.

Capricorn or 10th house films and shows🤑☠️👹💙🕳👀🫂🐐♑️
First of all we have pretty woman which is about a prostitute and a wealthy man who get together with their different lifestyles sometimes being very similar and very different at the same time it is all about the exchange of money which Capricorn rules and Capricorn can be a stingy with or well at making money themselves in many different kind of ways it also rules their career house 10th house films. It's perfect it's got romance and it's got the money inside of it it's got an unexpected romance between the two with her feeling lost in his world and him feeling lost it was how she does her work, next we have Rosemary's Baby a creepy 1960s film about a woman who lives in an apartment block with her new husband who feels like she's going crazy but baby is born as the devil which Saturn rules Satan Saturn, it's very creepy when she gives birth to the devil but I think it's a true kind of Capricorn Sutton based from it is filmed really well with the different colors that have all the themes of colours, next I have done Trainspotting a dreary film setting the late 80s early 90s of a few heroine addicts in the Scotland and their dark ways of having to get their money every day and the things that they have to do for it it's also got some really dark scenes that are scary for someone who is addicted and otherwise some it's upsetting things just like rosemary baby. Then we have always Wide Shut which is a Stanley Kubrick film about the Cult in the higher Archie and higher up places of doctors a psychologists dentists anyone with high power jobs Masons a lot and how the man in the beginning of the film is told the different things kind of like how Hollywood can be and people sleep together with masks on there was a part of the film that was cut out which was deemed too much for the viewers and then Stanley Kubrick died not long after this before the film was released is about a husband who wife is life together becomes a bit mundane and they go into this world there's a lot more to it than that we have to see it.
Gone Girl is an amazing film about a woman the amazing Amy is an author and has got with her partner who say to each other that they're not gonna let their life become mundane like the couples they know around them she suddenly goes missing after that relationships I was if we find out that she was very clever and she had manipulated the whole thing and staged it to get him back for killing her emotionally brilliant film

Dang I miss Immortal/Undead Male Whump with possible wholesome romance as tv shows...
I just got done rewatching FOREVER (2014) and Moonlight (2008) and want to watch more shows and even movies of the similar tastes and it’s hard to find.
Tumblr media
(Forever 2014)
Tumblr media
(Moonlight 2008) (Fun facts, the character Joseph from the show voices Terra in the Kingdom Hearts games. A book was published years after the show that inspired the series called “Angel of Vengeance” by  Trevor O’ Munson. The show went on hiatus due to the writers strikes and received 4 new episodes before ending, being cancelled, and not being picked up again.)
I miss seeing shows where the male lead has to keep the secret or deal with someone knowing their secret and trying to live with it. All of it based more in a realistic reality of the actual world, while still be fictitious enough to have things that could never happen in reality as well.
I know there are some show or movies out there similar, but they don’t fit my tastes or I did watch them for a time and then stopped cause they started getting crazy or boring for me.
I’m not one for watching something with sex in it, nor a lot of demonic things in it either. Some exceptions have been Angel and Buffy, but those are more supernatural fiction. I tried watch Vampire Diaries and did enjoy it for a time, same with the Teen Wolf series, but they both got to a point I couldn’t stand them and just stopped watching and couldn’t get myself to watch them again. I’ve tried with Teen Wolf, but just got bored.
I did try watching some of True Blood to see what it was like and only came out enjoying the theme song and left that quick. I don’t think I made it past the first episode.
Tried watching Penny Dreadful and same thing happened. The Sabrina remake as well. One ep and then I ditched it. I hated the the demonic stuff and just dipped. Made me miss the 90s show I grew up all the more.
I used to watch Forever Knight as a kid, She Wolf, and Beauty and the Beast as well, but not really into watching the super older shows of late 80s early 90s right now.
Also sucks how I can’t get season 2 of Invisible Man (2000) in the US. UK is lucky and got the second season of Invisible Man, we only got Season 1, which I bought up so fast. Though based more in science, Invisible Man was another good one. Poor guy couldn’t catch a break. Miss it so much.
Tumblr media
(The Invisible Man (2000) (Thankfully, though only 2 seasons, the series got to end with an actually ending.)
Thankful we keep getting Psych movies every few years or so, though movie 2 and 3 haven’t been available to buy yet, which is frustrating since they only show it on peacock, though 2 was on USA recently and 4 is in the works.
Tumblr media
(Psych (2006-2014, Movies ongoing)
Enjoyed watching Dracula, the NBC, not the BBC one. That one I hated. I enjoyed Jekyll and Sherlock, but Dracula was horrible.
Dracula NBC ended too soon.
Tumblr media
(Dracula (2013))
One I didn’t see until after it aired, that for a time was free to watch on old Hulu, was The Crow: Stairway to Heaven. Very 90′s, but enjoyable all the same.
Tumblr media
(The Crow: Stairway to Heaven (1998) and yes that is Mark Dacascos probably known by many as The Chairman of Iron Cheif.)
Which I recently found out they finally have made a remake of the 90′s movie with Bill Skarsgard that I hope will be good. Just leaves adding any vfx and so on they need to before release.
Many will know him more as Pennywise the Clown and leads into why I sat through watching all of Hemlock Grove.
Tumblr media
Only good reason to watch that show on Netflix.
It has Vampires and Werewolves and more, but man, it isn’t worth it in the end with the plot they give.
So, yeah, really wish we got more immortal / undead whump with possible wholesome romances.

Hi! I just wanted to say I adore the way you draw Ma'am! She's really pretty in your style ^^
Question wise though, do you have any headcanons or anything like that for her or any of the other characters?
I wish I hadn’t accidentally privately responded to a previous question about my headcanons for her, because it was a LONG LIST, but I’ll try and list a few!
This’ll be long so it’s all shoved under the cut, minus some more private HC’s-
Full Grown/Ma’am
• She’s a huge sweets fan, and once Big Deal gets better at cooking and baking, she has a habit of stealing away muffins or cookies, much to the exasperation and chitterings of him.
• I give her battle scars beneath her suit!
• She has some sort of connection to Reggie which royally pisses her off for A WHILE, especially as Endless tries to push for their friendship. In comes my mentor!AU where a greater looming evil forces them to call a truce and they eventually become like family.
• She’s the original leader/Queen of Endless before Bad Things happened and shunted her into the volcanic stasis until Reggie revives her.
• She’s the original creation of Endless. She was made by a very, very lonely little girl who desperately needed a friend and was scared of growing up, who got whisked away to Endless at its most baby state. Full Grown bloomed into life just about the same age as the girl who created her, and she ages alongside her until the girl grows away from Endless and finally stops coming to Endless. Ma’am stops aging from there.
• She likes wrestling, obviously, but she also likes hockey. She likes the fighting lol
• Big Deal’s affections scare her and make her anxious, she’s scared of niceness and affection in *general*, so she acts up, acts out, lashing out and thrashing and acting petulant in her denial to try and create distance. It doesn’t work.
• She can play a few musical instruments! Namely the piano and guitar, but a few others too.
• She can speak a few different languages, mostly because one of my favorite Matt Berry songs has French in it and I said she can.
• Her music tastes are very wide and varying but she favors acid jazz, psychedelic rock, and hypno-pop.
• Ma’am is OLD, lmao. She clearly is themed around astro-retro futurism of the 50s and 60s, between her house, her theme song, her aesthetic, so I like to put the height of her leadership around those eras.
• She /likes/ entertaining guests. Beneath all her bristle and coldness and axe-crazy mania, when she’s not putting out her icy, angry exterior, she *likes* having guests and being able to entertain. We see her even say that she likes having guests when Brown Roger comes around (poor Brown Roger lol)
• She likes roller skating
• She’s got a closet full of unique clothes, but after Bad Things and her stasis in the volcano, she sticks to wearing her Endless suit because her clothes feel too personal and vulnerable for a long time.
• She’s a hopeless romantic at heart, though terribly scorned, so she hides it beneath briars and thorns and chaos. She loves chick flicks and romance novels and she values loyalty and respect.
• Her and modern technology are Not Friends. Her range in technology goes up until the late 80s/early 90s, and I KNOW the show is technically supposed to take place in that era but that completely bypassed me back in 2019 when I started making my AUs, which take place 2015 and above, so modern technology makes her curse and sneer and growl in frustration.
• She just really likes food. Big Deal has to learn fast how to cook and bake properly for her because she gets very cranky when she’s hungry and she eats A Lot.
• She’s like a giant lizard cat. She’s very bendy and flexible, likes climbing trees and crawling around searching for shiny things, and she likes basking under the sun, even if she complains about being around others the whole time (she’ll also grab Big Deal and curl around him because he’s a little furnace, much to his flustered-ness)
• She’s genderfluid and queer. She doesn’t care about earth terms, she’s a shapeshifting alien queen in a different dimension, human customs and opinions don’t really matter when it comes to who *she* is.
• She and Big Deal manage to cross over onto earth at some point and she creates earth human forms for them.
• I technically have a full name for her but thatsss a bit private and will only be revealed if I talk to you for a while hdhfjd
I have a lot more but for the sake of saving time, I just have those for now for her.
Reggie
• CHAOS GIRL- she maintains her chaotic, bright, colorful nature even into adulthood. I really like focusing on her and her friends growing up into young adults because like.. self projection and also because this show is *about* growing up, and it’s SO interesting exploring that facet and seeing how their personalities, ESPECIALLY Reggie’s, grow and flux, yet how they still stay true to themselves.
• She /can/ sing a lil bit but it’s one of the few things she’s very shy about, between bullying and befriending people like Todd and Esther, and eventually Gwen, who are all so musically oriented, so she kinda just.. hides that she can kinda sing by being so overly dramatic about *badly* singing.
• She grows a steady mentorship/apprentice dynamic with Full Grown (though it depends on AU for how old she is when that mentorship starts, for my main one, she’s almost 13, for a few of my others, she’s older teens) who eventually becomes a like a very dear family member to her
• She’s a sporty girl when she hits her teens. She’s got a LOT of energy and frustration to expel and she winds up enrolling in volleyball, hockey, and rollerderby throughout her teen years to help her adrenaline junkie life and it helps with the frustrations of Having To Grow Up.
• She keeps her tooth gap, she never gets it corrected, and she’s got a very crooked and mischievous smile that lasts her whole life.
• She’s COVERED in freckles.
• She’s very shy around Conelly for a WHILE, they don’t even start dating til Reggie’s like 16.
• She’s actually very good with science, it just takes Ma’am’s mentorship to help her realize that ‘hey she actually sometimes likes learning’ and she likes astronomy, astro-physics, physics, and chemistry (she finds interest when she’s being taught magic and finds out there’s a lot of science behind potions and magic)
• She’s forever a foodie, always munching and eating SOMETHING. She’s a frequent food thief and steals snacks from Mack and Beefhouse, from Full Grown and Big Deal, and from her friends.
• She’s the championed Knight of Endless, in all essential aspects. She undergoes weapons training from Full Grown when she hits adulthood due to other threats on Endless.
• She LIKES dressing up, she LIKES dresses sometimes, she just doesn’t like dressing up the way Judy wants her to, and she doesn’t like feeling clumsy and doesn’t like feeling like she’s just playing dress up to be someone she’s not (unless it’s cosplay, she gets her friends into cosplaying with her).
• Most of her wardrobe I draw her in comes directly from my closet or from my style.
• She gets rebellious with her friends when they’re 16/17 and Todd’s older brother takes them to get ear piercings together, so she’s got two lobe piercings and industrial piercings on both ears. When she’s older, she also has a tongue piercing, because she thought it was Cool™️ and she likes to stim with it.
• In my main mentor!AU, she chops all her hair off to her shoulders directly after her 18th birthday in a fit of frustration and rage and panic. Mood.
• She also puts colored streaks in her choppy hair when she’s older, regardless of shortness or longness, she’s got green, pink, and blue streaks randomly smattered through her hair.
• She’s got severe ADHD and is possibly autistic
• She ALSO likes wrestling, so her and Full Grown cheer and snicker and snort over wrestling.
• She maintains her artistry as she grows and is quite successful with her art on the occasion. She’s the designer for Dustin’s podcast’s merch, Space Draculas. His podcast focuses on mythological legends, paranormal encounters, and supernatural beings with Todd’s older brother a few friends. Any pics of Reggie I draw wearing an alien with fangs is for this podcast of his.
• She and Judy mend their bonds over the years, and Judy is definitely the Team Mom for all her friends.
• Reggie’s first car is a Volkswagen Beetle that’s got a yellow body, but the hood, front two doors, and trunk are all different colors. The car is littered with car stickers and it has pins all in the roof from the inside, and she’s got worm on the strings tied to the rear view mirror.
• She ends up being a very good babysitter, it’s her job as a teenager, so she winds up being very good with kids.
• She curbs her dirty, messy habits as she grows older, but sometimessss she still gets down and dirty on Endless, she’s got no problems with getting muddy and dirty, covered in paint, sticky with sweat and sand, and she has to be reminded that showers are REQUIRED /more/ than twice a week.
• Full Grown regularly chews her out because she tries to enter the witch’s home with her sandy boots on. That’s like.. a YEARS long habit.
• She winds up being a rather well skilled magic user
Big Deal
• Learns much of his cooking skills from infomercials after Ma’am falls asleep, alongside with tentatively befriending Mack and Beefhouse and learning from them. They reach out to him first, with much grace and forgiveness, one day when he’s searching for recipe ingredients and they end up being well friends to him, and eventually, Ma’am as well. (She’s much more resilient and hesitant to befriend the others after everything and many of them are just as hesitant of her but Reggie growing under her mentorship helps)
• He whacks Reggie in exasperation when she tries to steal food.
• He was made by Endless to protect his Ma’am and be a tiny little plush dragon to her.
• He purrs when he’s comfortable and happy, and so does Full Grown (though she represses it for a very long time). He also trills and chitters and chirps in feral little noises to her and she’ll make noises back.
• he looks smooth and round but he’s made up of really smooth feathers and he’ll puff up and flair out in high emotions or shock.
• He’s SO little and she’s SO big. My Ma’am is around 7’0” and he’s like.. thigh/butt level to her.
• He’s the first being to see her cry after her revival from the volcano, regardless of my AU and how long it takes for her to finally cry, he’s always the first one to see her cry.
• He’s a very enthusiastic learner and absorbs knowledge like a sponge, and he loves listening to his Ma’am talk so he’s willing to sit and listen and learn until he’s falling asleep.
• He does NOT like horror movies. He does not care for wrestling, or hockey, it all makes him cringe and fret so much, but he LOVES fantasy, adventure, romance, and music, so Full Grown introduces him to musicals and romcoms.
• he LOVES entwining his tail with his Ma’am’s tail, which, for a long time, is a very rare thing, but it grows more constant as time passes.
• he’s got little padded pawed hands! Tiny hands with little heart shaped paw pads!
______________
Okay these are all I can think of tonight but I WILL update this as I think of more, or feel free to message again with individual characters!
