[ID: a flashback of the outside of Wayne Manor at night. A narration box (unrelated to the scene) reads, “Ya think he's got a guardian angel, or somethin'?” Inside the manor, Leslie Thompkins and Alfred Pennyworth are talking in regards of young Bruce Wayne. They sit in a magnificent library at a small table as Bruce sits at his own desk that's across the room and has his face buried in a book. Alfred reassures her, “— Worried about him, Doctor Thompkins? I can assure you there's no need! Master Bruce has the manor to live in — myself to look after him — the best education money can buy—”. Leslie cuts Alfred off before he can continue rambling out more examples. She tells him, “It's what he doesn't have that bothers me, Alfred. Friends — hobbies — the kind of life a normal teenager looks forward to. He spends all his time in the gym, or here reading. I don't think he ever recovered from his parents' death.” We're shown Bruce, now in a close-up and able to see the book he's reading is titled ‘Lip Reading For Beginners’. Bruce peers over the book intensely as Leslie continues to express her rightful concern, “He almost seems obsessed!” END ID]

hc where regulus has zero idea how to cook after living his whole life with private chefs cooking for him, so when he finally leaves his family he starts surviving solely off of kraft mac and cheese and LOVING IT. when james finds out, he’s seriously alarmed but doesn’t want to rob regulus of his new favorite meal so he starts offering to make it for him but blends vegetables into the cheese so regulus is getting some form of nutrients in his diet.

many years later when regulus discovers this betrayal, blood is nearly drawn.

I'm a big fan of a character type I like to call The Second Autistic-Coded Character I Spot. On a lot of shows with Big Neurodivergent Energy, there’s a character who most closely resembles popular tropes about autism—think of Ron from Parks and Rec, Huey from DuckTales, or Gregory from Abbott Elementary. They’re the easiest to recognize, and the average person probably wouldn’t consider it a “reach” if you said they were autistic. The Second Autistic-Coded Character I Spot tends to have traits that present in a less obvious way to the casual observer, and they might not stand out as immediately. But once I catch onto them, their neurodivergence smacks me in the face in the best way. These characters tend to be more outgoing/talkative, more AuDHD-coded, and are more likely to be women/femme. To pair with my previous examples, The Second Autistic-Coded Character I Spot includes characters like Leslie from from Parks and Rec, Webby from DuckTales, and Janine from Abbott Elementary. And more often than not, once I recognize a second character, the floodgates open and I start to see just how neurodivergent the show is as a whole.

I'm not sure why The Second Autistic-Coded Character I Spot is so particularly beloved for me. After all, I'm a big fan of all sorts of autistic-coded characters, including the more "clear-cut" ones. But there's just something about about these characters that I really, really love. They're always trying so hard, talking so much, and loving with such abandon, and I adore them. Here's to the characters who are A Lot, always coming in hot and filled with passion that they throw at the world with both hands.

Time for a couple of my own TAWOG Hot Takes!!

Basically uh, I'm bored, TAWOG is playing in the background, and it's too dark to draw bacause it's 4 in the morning and I haven't slept. So let's go!! 1: Leslie, Masami, Juke & Bobert actually had *really good* human designs in The Inquisition. Kind of a shame to watch them go, though the way the animators un-humanized Leslie was pretty awesome. 2: Leslie is absolute GOLD. I mean, good writing, funny episodes, and did anyone else notice that he was in the treehouse with the girls in the first season (forgot episode name)? I thought that was a nice little detail, and it may have been because it wasn't decided if he was going to be male or female yet, but I still think it's a nice little touch that honestly is one of the reasons I like Leslie. 3: The Fury is... overrated. The animation is good and all, and I suppose Yuki's pretty cool, but... it's just missing something to me. Also, at the time of writing this, I can't guarantee it won't be the only actual hot take. 4. Whew, uhh... I think and very well suspect that Penny was *meant* to be metaphorical to being trans. I mean, the shell was kind of like the closet, and then she "came out of her shell..." could very well be a metaphor to being bolder, and more open about herself, but hhhhhilikethefirstthingtoomuch 5. They made Rob too smart for a 13 year old. How, exactly, does a kid, a *literal child,* have a major in Canadian History? And know how to blow up a dang bus? thats all dont burn me on a stake because of these goofy ahh opinions that i wrote at one in the morning
