#less of a hyperfixation more of a special interest sort of?

I've picked up the most neurodivergent chill activity, which is using Obsidian to create lists of the music that I listen to. I'm categorizing on artist, year that the song came out, key the song is in, and BPM. Collecting this information and neatly ordering everything in an interconnected Obsidian web of lists is the most calming satisfying thing for my weird brain. Would highly recommend making some intricate lists for no reason.

Whenever I get a new hyperfixation I immediately start brewing crossovers with whatever my special interest at the time is. Which is kind of unfortunate because it can result in the most off-the-wall nonsense shit
Anyway I just think it would be fun for Danny to work as Doofenshmirtz’ intern (a PAID intern because he might be evil but he’s not as evil as Major Monogram!)
Danny could technically stop Perry from wrecking Doofenshmirtz’s shit but he just kind of. Doesn’t. It’s not his job to fight off Doofenshmirtz’ nemesis, his job is to troubleshoot Doofenshmirtz’s plans so he stops missing obvious problems
(Vanessa has been lodging complaints)
Danny just wants some formal work experience and Doofenshmirtz was impressed by the things he talked about doing in his parents’ lab and also by his tragic backstory (required)
Doofenshmirtz- also you were the only one that applied
Side effect of this is that Doofenshmirtz starts having to comply with OSHA safety standards because if he doesn’t then Danny refuses to eat lunch at work and Doofenshmirtz doesn’t like it
Doofenshmirtz- I’m not going to give you radioactive food!
Danny- I literally just don’t believe you
And yes Doofenshmirtz DOES immediately start trying to unlock more of Danny’s tragic backstory just because it seems like the thing to do and then proceeds to wheedle him into talking about it during nemesis fights (“You need to communicate!”)
Danny reminds Perry of his boys so they have an unspoken policy of ‘Danny won’t stop Perry and Perry leaves Danny alone’ which Doofenshmirtz appreciates. Perry absolutely realizes that Danny could be a much bigger threat if he wanted to but he also clearly doesn’t want to so Perry’s not really worried about it
Danny doesn’t really interfere either way because honestly the balance these two have going on is impressive. Doofenshmirtz makes his ‘evil’ inventions to work out his trauma and Perry makes sure no one gets hurt from them. No interference needed
This is probably some sort of tragic 18-19 year old Danny that’s really just trying to move on from everything that happened at Amity Park and doesn’t really want to think about it anymore
And yes half of this is just because I think it would be fun for Doofenshmirtz to have a slightly smaller younger assistant with a marginally less tragic backstory
…God why is there so much to this AU

hiii i was wondering if you could do arcane characters x someone on the ASD spectrum? its alright if you're uncomfortable, im just autistic myself and arcane is my current hyperfixation. im a newer follower so if that effects my ability to request please let me know :) i love your current work tho ❤️
Tumblr media
⋆˚₊‧⁺ Arcane characters x reader on the spectrum ˚₊‧⁺⋆
hii! Thank you so much for requesting and your support. I really appreciate it. 💗 hope I didn't get anything wrong or said something disrespectful. I apologise if I did! 😓
Also, sorry some of these headcanons are a little short. For some characters I didn't really know what to write, sorry :((
Summary: arcane characters x reader with autism headcanons!
Tags: arcane x reader, jinx x reader, silco x reader, arcane league of legends.
Tumblr media
Jinx
Jinx is often seen as 'too chaotic' or 'too different' so she'd be super understanding towards a s/o who's neurodivergent.
Would create little gadgets for you based on your current hyperfixation!
If you'd prefer less touch, Jinx would find other ways to show affection. Such as, creating drawings of you or sitting next to you quietly, probably fidgeting with a gadget of some sort.
If you did like touch, Jinx would sneak up behind you and poke your waist then laugh at you when you get flustered/surprised.
She would listen to you talk about your hyperfixation for hours on end!
She'd get very ecstatic about your special interests as well. She would try to learn unique facts about it so she can impress you.
Tumblr media
Silco
Silco is a very calculating and observant man. If you liked specific textures such as soft materials, he would go out of his way to make sure youre always comfortable. He might change the bedding to a more softer fabric or gift you fluffy clothes.
He would quietly listen to you talk about your special interests. It may seem like he doesn't care, but trust me, he does.
Silco would pay very close attention to what you say. So much so, he would leave little trinkets related to your hyperfixation in your room for you to find.
He would be very gentle and patient with you, making sure he never treats your needs as a burden of some sort.
Tumblr media
Caitlyn
Caitlyn would be very sweet and careful!!
She would hold you hands in hers lightly, gentle hugs and play with your hair soothingly.
Would ask for permission everytime before she touches you.
"May I?"
If you ever got overwhelmed, she would quickly take you back to her room by the hand. She would trace idle patterns onto your shoulder and whisper sweet nothings into your ear.
"You're okay, I've got you."
If you weren't big on physical touch, she'd stick to words of affirmation!
Tumblr media
Vi
At first, Vi might be a little rough and loud towards you. But as soon as she sees you're uncomfortable, she'd try to tone it down immediately. After all, her loved ones needs are the most important to her.
Would throw hands at anyone who dares to mock you.
Again, if you liked physical touch, prepare yourself to get big bear hugs, sloppy kisses and hair ruffling.
If you weren't into that, she'd show her affection by staying close to you. She's not very good with words, but she'd make an effort. Just for you.
Tumblr media
Mel
Mel's the type of girl to show her love through luxurious gift giving. She might buy you jewellery that reminded her of you or gift you paintings of her own.
Mel would even commission designers to make clothing exactly to your liking!
She'd let you rest your head on her lap while she strokes your hair as she admires the view of Piltover.
If you were interested, Mel would teach you how to paint since it might calm you down during stressful moments.
If you weren't, she'd let you watch her paint to cool down. Sometimes she would paint portraits of you or of your special interests.
Tumblr media
Jayce
At the start, Jayce might be little confused or clueless. After realising, he'd do tons of research and would ask you very specific questions to get to know you better.
He would be big on words affirmation.
"I'm proud of you."
Tumblr media
Ekko
Ekko would love to help you build things related to your special interests or learn more about it.
He would be so patient with you. He'd hold your hand close to his chest if you were overwhelmed and repeatedly tell you it's going to be okay.
Sometimes he'd take you on walks to take your mind off of things.
Tumblr media
Viktor
Viktor would understand how it's like to be different since he's disabled.
Would definitely sit down and listen to your rambling about your hyperfixations!
He would be very patient with sensory needs.
He would give affection through words and small gestures rather than loads of touch.

💜 Shoutout to introjects who are source divergent or who don’t identify much with their source, but are still deeply connected to it!
❤️ Shoutout to introjects who like being referred to as their source!
🧡 Shoutout to introjects who are tired of their relationship to their source being policed or dictated by others!

You’re still just as valid and cherished as an introject, a member of your system, and a member of the plural community just the way you are!
We hope every source-connected introject who sees this can have a lovely day today. Please treat yourself with the kindness and gentleness you deserve, and don’t judge yourself too harshly for how you view your source! My level of investment in a hyperfixation/ special interest of mine is a really good indicator of my mental well-being. That being, when I’m in burnout or heavily depressed I find very little interest in it and tend not to have a particular interest on my mind. But when I’m doing better mentally overall, and just in general feel happier, I am very active in creation of artwork and engagement in whatever interest I’m currently pursuing, and older interests I’ve neglected return. (For example- I’ve been reviving my reptile/amphibian/invertebrate/generally less loved animals special interest as of late and it’s coincided with a lot of happiness.)
This starts a sort of positive feedback loop, wherein I feel less drained and sad and therefore can engage in my interests, and then engaging in those interests makes me more feel energized and happy.

The Hyperfixations of Steven Moffat
Tumblr media
Leading up to the Doctor Who Christmas special, I was surprised to see people expressing indifference toward the prospect of new Doctor Who. There were the usual shitbag “Not my Doctor,” homophobes and racists who add nothing but noise to the background radiation of the fandom. But there were also ride-or-die fans expressing disinterest. And it’s not like I don’t get it. The first season of RTD’s return was a bit jank. For me, it was a marked uptick in quality, but it also felt like it was trying a bit too hard. We’re also coming off the tail end of a Hell Year™, and we’re tired. Honestly, I kind of hate anyone whose biggest problem in the world right now is the Superman trailer. But I also recognise the need for escapism. Which is why a Doctor Who Christmas special and Wallace & Gromit double feature was such a welcome reprieve from Hell Year™. That was my Christmas sorted. And you know what? I had a lovely fucking Christmas.
My greatest takeaway from this double feature was that Wallace is a bit of a menace in his own right, and Moffat is a man with hyperfixations. When I say this, I don’t mean it in a judgemental way (except for Wallace, he should take more care), but rather to highlight what I think is Moffat’s main quality as a writer. Recently Moffat disclosed that he has been diagnosed autistic. As a neurospicy individual myself, I appreciate a good hyperfixation. Let this blog be exhibit A. You give an autistic or ADHD person a hyperfixation, and it’s like a dog with a bone. You can see this in the way Moffat writes about time travel. I’ve mentioned it before, but Moffat writes time travel like a young boy who got hyperfixated and couldn’t stop thinking about the implications of time travel.
What are some of Moffat’s hyperfixations as a writer? How about names beginning with “Os”? What about women who look like Elon Musk’s mum if she were a burlesque scientist? Or young people who meet older people and become obsessed with them into adulthood? (I’m not gonna get into it, but it’s weird that it happened three times) While some of Moffat’s preoccupations are distinctly Steven, others are more widely shared. I still remember being nervous around a hobo statue my grandmother had in her basement. I used to run past it as though it were going to spring into life the moment I took my eyes off it. I understand Weeping Angels. Fear of the dark gets us the Vashta Nerada. Steven Moffat is a writer whose fixations are at the centre of his work. And part of that work lands him in hotel rooms where he has plenty of time to lie there and think about the room he’s in.
About a month ago, we were given our first taste of “Joy to the World,” with the opening scene of the Doctor going door to door in various locations attempting to deliver a ham and cheese toastie and a pumpkin spice latte. I don’t usually watch scenes ahead of their time, but the costume geek in me really wanted to see the latest variation on what has become the closest thing we’ll get to a signature look for this Doctor. I loved the butterscotch tones with the wide legged trousers. Such an iconic look. This may be one of my favourite costumes Ncuti has worn thus far. However, beyond a glimpse at the new costume, I was curious to see the Fifteenth Doctor with a different companion from Ruby Sunday. I adored Nicola Coughlan as Clare in Derry Girls, so I had to sneak a peak.
Tumblr media
It was rare in classic Doctor Who for a Doctor to go into a situation with no companions. The Third Doctor was alone before meeting Liz Shaw. The TARDIS engines had hardly cooled between Leela and Romana. There were also the Eighth Doctor and Grace. But for the most part, there was always a companion bridging the exchange. It’s far more common in modern Doctor Who to see the Doctor without a companion at the beginning of a story. These moments interest me because its a chance to see the Doctor’s vulnerability. With no one to impress, the Doctor feels somehow less confident. The Doctor doesn’t always need a companion to remind him when he’s gone too far, but also to remind him to feel love. Here, we see the Doctor still not used to being on his own. He pops into a hotel lobby for a couple cups of coffee before remembering he only needs the one.
Tumblr media
While this is a nice re-introduction to the Doctor’s current emotional state, I was a little disappointed by this being the reason the Doctor was at the Time Hotel in the first place. It’s funny that he steals coffee from hotel lobbies on the reg, but it’s a flimsy device for a story setup. Then again, that is Moffat’s way. During his run on Doctor Who it was always impressed upon us that the TARDIS always took the Doctor where he needed to be. He even reiterates this concept during the Doctor and Anita’s conversation about her sat nav. That’s sort of the Doctor’s whole thing. Go somewhere innocuous on the day when everything went to shit. Henrik’s Department Store operated for years without incident until the Nestine Consciousness showed up and the Doctor had to blow the place up. Besides, how else are you going to draw a guy who time travels and has no need for a home into a time travelling hotel? Those are like the two things he needs the least. So yeah, the Doctor steals coffees like they were TARDISes.
Along with Nicola Coughlan guest starring as Joy, we get an adorable turn from Joel Fry as the charmingly dim Trev Simpkins. While his screentime is minimal, I fell in love with Trev almost immediately. Sadly, Trev wouldn’t be long for this world, but the stars are a completely different story. Having been conscripted by the Doctor to spy on a strange man in the hotel lobby, Trev quickly becomes embroiled in the journey of the mysterious Villengard suitcase by becoming its next host. This is how we’re introduced to Joy Almondo, a young woman staying at the Sandringham Hotel, which is a bit of a flophouse. Once again, we’re reintroduced to another Moffat hyperfixation which is a weird “women be shoppin’” attitude when Joy nervously asks Anita if its obvious that she’s single. I rolled my eyes at that line, and it’s made slightly more egregious when you consider the reason Joy is by herself in this run-down hotel on Christmas Eve. Why would she be thinking of men on the night she’s very clearly mourning the loss of her mum? The brief conversation between her and the fly in her room endears us to her far more than her anxiety about finding a man in this economy.
Tumblr media
Ultimately, the Sandringham Hotel proves to be a lot more interesting of a location than the Time Hotel. Which is saying something considering that out of the Time Hotel’s many doors into different periods of time, one of those doors is some kind of Hobbit door. In contrast to the wacky voyeur tourism of the Time Hotel, the Sandringham Hotel was where the emotional core of the story takes place, even if I find Moffat’s conceit about hotels a bit contrived. You see, I can imagine the genesis of this story came from Moffat lying in a hotel room and considering that weird door that won’t open. We’ve all wondered about it. But he loses me a bit with his take on why people stay at such hotels.
Tumblr media
Back in 2016, my friend Gary came and visited me from the states. We planned a trip down to London where he could see Abbey Road and then onto Cardiff for the Doctor Who Experience and up to Liverpool to see John Lennon’s house. It was a bare-bones trip over three days that required some sacrifices in train times and accommodations. We needed a good hotel in London, but what was most important was a place to hang our heads for the evening, so we went with cheap. The hotel we ended up with, we lovingly referred to as the Hotel Mos Eisley because it was a wretched hive of scum and villany. The rooms were numbered with a devil-may-care randomness. At the top of the stairs was a slashed canvas depicting Marilyn Monroe. One of her teeth had been blacked out and a swastika was drawn on her forehead. We had to sleep with toilet paper in our ears for fear of roaches. But we met so many characters in this hotel that we remember it as a fond memory of our trip. We still laugh about it to this day. My point being, sometimes a hotel room is just a means to an end. Also, some people are just poor. It’s not that deep, Steven.
I will however concede that this isn’t lost on Steven Moffat. As I said before, a lot of humanity can be found in the mundane setting of the Sandringham. Spoilers for the Bible if you’ve not read it, but that sentiment is reiterated with the humble manger where Mary gives birth to Jesus at the end of this episode. Furthermore, the Doctor was merely making Joy angry in an attempt to wake her out of whatever control the Villengard briefcase has over her. I had read about a week ago that Moffat wanted to bring the Doctor’s meanness back into the character, something which I have been waiting for since Chibnall decided to make the Doctor constantly stoked on life. I’m not going to go back and count the number of times in this blog where I mentioned wishing they would make Jodie scarier, but it was often. The Doctor is an alien and basically a god, it’s nice to be reminded of that on occasion. Eccleston is a good Doctor, but he became a great Doctor when we saw him lose his shit in “Dalek.” Even if it was being mean to save Joy’s life, it was nice to see the manipulative cosmic being we saw in the Seventh and Eleventh Doctors.
The Doctor is forced to go the long way to save Joy in the future by boot strap paradoxing the briefcase code to himself. I really loved this year the Doctor spends with Anita, working side by side at this hotel. As my friend Taryn quipped, they did more to build the Doctor and Anita’s relationship in one episode than they did Thirteen and Yaz’s relationship in three seasons. But in this relationship, I did find a few holes, and I don’t think I’m alone in suspecting they mean something. By now, you’ve probably seen a theory or two about Anita being Mrs Flood, and I’m right there with you. While she seems perfectly nice, there are some moments when Anita feels like she’s either a woman out of time, or not of this world. She didn’t recognise police boxes, which is sort of fair. I mean, here in Glasgow, they’re everywhere. But they are still a relic. She also didn’t know what Auld Lang Syne meant. Once again, fair dos, not everyone does. But growing up in the UK and not knowing who Guy Fawkes was? Very suspicious.
Tumblr media
The Doctor stays with Anita for an entire year working side by side at the hotel. It gave shades of “The Lodger,” and “The Power of Three,” watching the Doctor stay in one place for an extended period while using his Doctory technology in service of mundane tasks. It was very charming and Christmassy to see the Doctor in this capacity. It only further drove home my belief that Ncuti Gatwa was a shoe-in for the Doctor. However, my internet addled-brain still laughed when they hinged a large portion of the episode’s emotional core around a hotel cuck chair. Moffat is clearly not suffering from the same brain rot as me. It’s Chibnall and VOR (see: vore) all over again. Moffat may have a lot to say about hotel rooms, but so does the internet. Sometimes, the fact that Doctor Who is made by middle aged Doctor Who nerds is entirely apparent. I suppose it’s what makes the show so wonderfully memeable.
Tumblr media
Trev uses the phrase “Everywhere, all at once,” in this epsiode and I can’t help but feel like Doctor Who is dipping its toe into the metaverse. Last season we had a character called Susan Triad who was played by a woman named Susan Twist. Then the characters dance while singing that there is always a twist at the end. If Anita turns out to be Mrs Flood, then we’ll have a woman named Anita Dobson who plays a character named Anita Flood. I’m not saying this is what is happening, but it can’t be lost on RTD. Then again, Moffat did give us Oswin Oswald at the same time we got Osgood and I’ll be damned if it didn’t feel related back then too. One of the recurring theories I see people returning to is that the Doctor is in the Land of Fiction from “The Mindrobber.” Perhaps they have included the Master of the Land into the Pantheon of Gods. If you watched the trailer for season two, you’ll have noticed the large animated character emerging for the theatre screen. It’s either the deepest Eighth Doctor cut ever (Crooked World represent!) or the walls between fiction and reality are bleeding into one another. What will that mean for the Doctor, a fictional character? Doctor Who may be a staple of British culture, but it also exists in a Britain so foreign to modern Britain because it never went through a phase of Dalekmania. None the less, I sense another shakeup on the horizon.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Britains from a foreign reality, how about that COVID-19 representation? I say foreign from reality, because if you were to have watched Doctor Who during the pandemic, you would think that their fictional version of Britain never had to deal with the coronavirus. I’m not going to sit here and call Chibnall gutless for not including the pandemic into the storyline. I imagine it was a choice that required a meeting and they ultimately decided not to address it. If I were to guess, I would imagine they left the pandemic out of the show for two reasons. Firstly, they probably wanted Doctor Who to be a reprieve from death and despair. And secondly, they probably wanted to avoid questions like “Why doesn’t the Doctor just give everyone the cure?” So yeah, they probably did what was best at the time and left it at that. I can appreciate that. I can also appreciate them introducing it to give the Tories a proper bollocking.
Tumblr media
I’ve seen some complaints about Joy’s decrying the Tories as her mother gasped her final breaths in the hospital. Some people (see: idiots) thought it was too political and woke. Which, if that’s your takeaway from this episode, I pity you. If anything, the Tories got off light. I have friends who lost their mums to COVID and I was happy to see the show finally address the very real situation we survived. I’m old enough to have lived through monkey pox outbreaks, bird flu, SARS, and mad cow disease. I never met anyone who got those diseases. I’ve had COVID three times. The pandemic was out of control in a way no living human had seen since the 1920s. Doctor Who has often struggled with finding the correct tone when tackling deep issues. But I feel like they nailed it here. Oddly, it being a Christmas story allows it the proper tone to reflect on holidays spent with late loved ones.
It’s rare when I watch an episode of Doctor Who when my closest network of friends and family who watch Doctor Who are all in agreement as to its quality. Usually one of us has a grievance to air. But everyone in my little circle really enjoyed the episode. This is surprising considering the somewhat cheesy ending with Bethlehem (though I did love the idea that the Time Hotel is why there was no room at the inn for Mary and Joseph). Myself and Taryn, both atheists, weren’t bothered in the slightest. My friend Alice, a Christian, wasn’t bothered by it on any religious grounds. It was a sweet moment afforded by the fact that it’s Christmas. Besides, if Baby Jesus isn’t invited to his birthday party, then maybe they’re doing something wrong. Other than the usual chuckleheads, I’ve not seen many people complaining about this episode. I did see that some people were let down by the lack of Silurians. The Silurian hotel manager, Melnak, had led some to believe that this Christmas special was going to be rife with Silurians. I never got this impression as he seemed like a one-off character. In fact, after watching the second episode preview, I thought it was implied that the Villengard briefcase hologram took the form of the dominant species during dinosaur times. It would appear that we were all wrong. Other than that and some of Moffat’s weird “women be shopping” brand of dialogue, it was a very solid episode of Doctor Who.
Tumblr media
Along with the quiet moments of reflection, the deep connection between the Doctor and Anita, and Joy’s mourning her mother, we even got some exciting action scenes. We got a Jurassic Park style dinosaur with glowy eyes. We even got an exciting train scene. I love watching Ncuti in that flowing coat. He’s like a superhero in his cape atop that train in an ice storm. It was fun to watch him swinging a grappling hook to open the tomb encasing the starseed. But when the Doctor returns, both Joy and the starseed have ascended the stairs to the wild blue yonder above. While I had hoped for a little bit more of a presence of Villengard, I appreciated that this sentient star had more in mind than death and destruction. Villengard was so far from in control of the situation by that point and I loved that. Because, in reality, they’ve always been pathetic and small-time in the Doctor’s world. They acknowledge and appreciate the shared risk all sentient life takes with their actions. They like to think its the same worry people had when they fired up the Hadron Collider, but it’s closer in nature to corporations killing the environment we all depend on. “The Starseed will bloom and the flesh will rise,” wasn’t a threat, but a prelude to Joy’s ascent into the heavens. What’s more is that Trev and the other carriers of the star case will also live on forever in the sky. Leading the wisemen to Jesus and delivering Joy’s mother to the great beyond. If you think this episode didn’t make me cry, you’d be wrong.
Tumblr media
The episode ends, but not before revisiting a couple of familiar faces. We see Ruby waiting by her phone for the Doctor to call, but instead it’s her mum. We can expect to see Ruby again, but probably not right away, which I’m fine with. It will give us time to get to know Varada Sethu as “Belinda Chandra,” a name which excites me on two levels. Is she related to Rani Chandra? And why does she have a different name from Mundy Flynn? Is this an Adeola/Martha cousins thing? Or is an Oswin/Clara different versions of the same person thing? Maybe it’s something more? The important thing is that I’m curious and excited to find out. I expect great things from Doctor Who, and if nothing else, chairs for the TARDIS. The future of Doctor Who feels bright from my perspective, I just wish the rest of the fandom felt the same way. 2025, or Hell Year™ 2.0,  is going to be a rough year for a lot of us. Like I said, I understand the need for escapism. You have my permission to feel good about yourself and to enjoy some Doctor Who next year. Fuck the haters. You have value and you deserve to feel joy.

Hope you don't mind me info dumping my thoughts after watching newsreader and also reading some of your thoughts (I am so hyper focused on this show lol)
If Dale is neurodiverse, what sort of neurodiversity do you think he has? Is he a bit on the spectrum or ADHD? But then it would man that he would mask himself quite well, he's just a bit awkward.
Anna was very beautiful this season.
I never understood why Lindsay was so obsessed with Dale? It was very creepy
I know I shouldn't but I really want to diagnose Dale, like Helen is BPD, but I feel like Dale had mental health issues, but it could also be just him being repressive.
I am going to imagine that post s3 he gets therapy and gets together with Helen. He accepts he is bi too.
I have SO many thoughts when it comes to Dale being on the spectrum! A lot of it is my ‘neurospicy’ detector going off when I watch him, but joking aside, I think I see him as a neurodivergent character because he displays a lot of traits that are fairly common for people on the spectrum.
Disclaimer, I come from a family full of neurodivergent people, some with a diagnosis, some without, many with…‘characteristics’—myself included. I also study/work in a field that has me spending a lot of hours every day with people on various versions of this infamous spectrum, so while I am joking about having a neurospicy ‘detector,’ I am sensitive to neurodivergence, and often recognize it (and I’m usually right when I do).
Tumblr media
Dale is socially awkward. Yes, I know, it sounds like a cliché, but it is an actual fact that social interactions are often hard when you’re neurodivergent. You’re just…slightly off, in a lot of situations. Dale takes things literally. He rehearses how he’s going to deliver lines, way beyond how he will be on camera, but with people too. The mirror thing he does? I’ve done it, and I know a lot of people on the spectrum do it, it’s a real thing.
Also, he hyperfixates. He’s got special interests—in this case, newsreading and journalism (since he was a very young child), to the point of it becoming his entire identity. He also likes rules, and following those rules, and fitting in boxes 🥲
You’ve mentioned masking, which is one of the main things neurodivergent people do, in an attempt to fit in with people and society. Very often, when you’re neurodivergent, the world around you makes you understand at a very young age that any odd behavior/responses you have are not acceptable; you’re often rejected/mocked for being awkward in social settings. So you learn to mask, without realizing you’re doing it. It’s a coping mechanism. Everyone does it to some extent, but autistic people do it on a whole different level—and it’s exhausting.
(I’m continuing the rest of this TED Talk under a read more because I need to talk about season 3, so, SPOILERS!!)
Dale’s entire arc from season 1 to 3 is a form of masking. He says it himself in the finale “You would hate the real me, everybody did. So I changed him, and now, you hate him even more!”
He’s obsessed over his image, about how people view him, about needing to appear normal, may it be in his masculinity, in his sexuality, in everything that makes him HIM. So many of those horrible comments he listens to say something along the line of “he’s weird, he’s off-putting, there’s something stilted about him.” The harder he tries, the less “normal” he appears, and it makes him absolutely spiral.
Dale hitting himself in that heartbreaking scene in 3.06? To me it’s not just a physical representation of his self-loathing.

I’m no expert so I don’t want to extend too much on that and risk saying the wrong thing, but self-harm most definitely is a thing autistic people may do, especially when they experience meltdowns, which is when someone is so overwhelmed by a situation that they lose control of their behavior. To be honest, the whole first half of episode 3.06 is Dale’s inevitable meltdown from everything he’s put himself through this season—and everything that was done to him by ‘exterior forces’ (Lindsay on top of the list).
So to link back to another one of your point, Dale most definitely has mental health issues, too, due in part to his past traumas, the abuse he was suffering from at work, and the fact that he’s a neurodivergent (bisexual) human living in a neurotypical society. In a newsroom of all places! 💀

Evan headcanons/thoughts?? (I know you love him but I like getting to know how other people view characters)
ALSO- I personally hc him as autistic and I typically feel like his special interests/hyperfixations would be stuff that creeps most people out, like taxidermy or venomous insects or stuff but like I always see him having PokĂŠmon as a hyperfixation (if not special interest) now too bc of you
SRY THIS IS SO INCREDIBLY LATE 🫶🫶🫶
HEHEHE I LOVE TALKING ABOUT EVAN THIS IS GONNA BE SO FUNNNN THANK YOUUUU :DDDDDDDD (like usual w these kinds of asks this is a mix of all sorts of canon compliant/modern/magic/no magic/everything aus cause that’s how I think lol)
autistic evan is so real!!!!! I am extremely happy that uve adopted pkmn (abbreviation of pokémon to make typing less long for this lol) as one of his hyperfixations and/or special interests that makes me so happy and excited AAAAAAAA :DDDDD him liking pkmn is one of my fav hcs of all time ever!!! :333 also the other ones u brought up are so real!!!! I can very much see him like. collecting a cleaning roadkill to keep/display and stuff like that,,, :3 also combining the 2,,,,,,, there's this artist that wrote/illustrated these fanbooks called “pokénatomy” where they theorized and drew out the anatomy of different pkmn based on irl animals/plants and that’s very evancore to me,,,,,, (I wish I had money to buy the book 💔)
adding onto autistic evan hcs I feel like he has mega sensory issues, ESPECIALLY when it comes to food
HES A NERD. NERD NERD NERD. he lives on media (of all kinds) his room is full to the brim w books, movies, cds, POSTERS, figurines, manga, stickers, pins/buttons, pkmn plushies, all he wears are graphic tees/hoodies w band names or characters on them and he consumes media constantly he is always watching/listening to/reading something
his quidditch position is keeper!! :) idk if he would’ve continued post-hogwarts but I think he rlly liked it at least in school
i also love love love love loveeeeeeeeeeeee hockey player evan in a muggle au omgggggggg my fav fav fav thing everrrrrr 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶 I think he plays defense :3 but he’s still a pretty good goal scorer :) he’s super super superstitious but only about hockey, he isn’t at all about anything else also his life’s mission is getting barty into watching hockey w him (barty understands nothing of the rules and kind of just watches evan the whole time instead cause he likes seeing him happy)
his number in whatever sport he’s playing is 18 I have zero justification for this it just feels right idk lol
he feels so painfully average in everything that he does because everyone around him is exceptional at something
he has a collection of pinned/dried/taxidermy bugs (idk the right term lol) in frames/shadowboxes, he pins them himself and he likes giving his friends their fav bugs for their bdays and such :3
his animagus would be a grizzly bear if he had one :3
he often feels like the wallflower friend, like he loves his friends so much more than they love him (it’s not true, but he has a lot of trouble believing it so much of the time)
he pushes people away when he’s upset
he’s so sad
he’s transmasc!!! :)
he’s got a very small social battery he gets super super overstimulated pretty easily
he likes to be alone, but he hates being lonely
that’s kinda everything coming to mind rn :) he’s so incredibly special to me and I never ever stop thinking about him he’s sooooooo 💝💛💝💛💝💛💝💛 I love him so much

Hiiiii, I'm Wolf! :] I am 25, and my pronouns are he/him. I'm a trans guy and I'm autistic and ADHD. I'm not revealing much else about myself on purpose for my own privacy, but I may later on if I end up feeling more comfortable about it. This post might be subject to change! I will work on the desktop layout of this blog when I get time.
I am the second person who worked on the original iteration of Karmageddeon with Kneeby from around 2012 to 2017, Kneeby's ex boyfriend from that time. Anything bad you've heard about me is probably very exaggerated and honestly twisted to make me look like a bad person. I have grown and changed since then anyway, and any behavior in the past is not indicative of anything current about me. I may take time to answer asks or respond if something isn't urgent, as I am just a very anxious person. Please have some patience with me!
• This media will have a lot of horror themes (psychological horror, in particular). I'm not entirely sure about content like blood and gore yet or other more graphic themes, but I would like to aim for less focus on those things. I will figure it out!
Karmageddeon was Team Escapees in the past!! I thought I would be just dipping and disappearing again, but I want to take Team Escapees back, honestly. So I want to reboot it my own way. It's likely what I create is going to be closer to the original comic than Karmageddeon is, and you might even find things familiar!
So I suppose I am sticking around. I have some guidelines for interacting with me. The most important are next, and it's continued under the cut, with more info.
• If you come just to harass me or bother me about Kneeby, just be aware that I am not going to dignify your asks with an answer or response. Full stop.
• If you support Kneeby, do not interact with me. General DNI criteria apply here. If you are proship, this is not a space for you. I will block over these things.
• To elaborate, if you are proship, I do not want you to interact with this blog or the content here. You have many other spaces. I cannot control what you do in private, but if I see any indication on your blog that you are a proshipper, I will block you.
• I may not always be consistently active! I have my day-to-day life to go about, and I have other special interests and hyperfixations that may take up my attention. I am stating upfront that there may be stretches of inactivity from me.
If you want to speak with me, message me here. If I join any Discord servers, it will be on an alternate account from my personal one, so I may not always be available immediately. I'm just a person that prefers to keep my personal life separate from the public internet due to past experiences.
• My typing may be inconsistent, I apologize! I am used to no punctuation or capitalization, but I'd like this blog to be accessible to people, so I'm not going to do that here.
I'm fully aware that I can't control what people do with characters or media I publicly post. I know that people will create whatever content they want. I am not here to police you or fight about it, because I have more to do than argue with people on the internet and I don't need that kind of stress.
It's just my personal wish that you don't engage with this media if you are proship, and that you don't create content that is incestuous, pedophilic, or anything of those sorts.
If you're going to do it anyway, I'm just asking that you don't expose people to it that don't want to see it. I don't want to see it either, so please keep it contained or whatever. Thanks!
If you've read this far, thank you! I very much appreciate it. A cookie for you. 🍪 :]
If you are looking for a link to my explanation of my experience with Kneeby, you can find it here:

eugh please sit with me and appreciate the absolute horror of leg tree, like what the actual hell bioware XD T.T arlathan forest spoilers/thoughts/rambling about inherent natural magic on thedas behind cut
i'm a little sad how the "these people were turned into static sylphs by the forest" is brought up once and never mentioned AGAIN. like there's that one dude who's been eaten by a mushroom and turned into a wooden sylph and your party's just like "ew, oh well another day in arlathan"...like as far as i can tell it's not a blight thing, just a this forest is really weird and magical thing but it's not really ever brought up again??
Just a horrible tree centipede, NBD. there's also a mention of how the forest will just reclaim bodies/magical weirdness at the end of one of the optional puzzles and i'm like HOLD THE PHONE CAN WE CIRCLE BACK TO THIS? but they never really do, even in the veil jumper/bellara questlines. also kinda sad that there aren't any more sylph spirit enemies around this game. Having the trees also attack you randomly is the good shit in fantasy games (it was a neat element in dao for sure). And then some of them were coherent/sentient like the old oak tree which just raises more questions really. They do a lot of kinda weird horror stuff with the environmental design but I wish it had more follow up in the music/pacing? Like dragon age in a fromsoft direction where i'm legit AFRAID to wander the woods would have been kinda neat (they already make you do fromsoft dodging) and there's def hints of that direction all over the game. Wish they'd pushed in that direction a little harder i guess (i don't think i'd want it all the way b/c a full fromsoft experience is not what i want in a dragon age game, but just a little bit more of the fear would be interesting). Tbh even a dragon's dogma night/day cycle would have been cool (where it's significantly more dangerous to go out at night/more enemies appear)
there also seems to be an element of that one scene from independence day with it, like "oh everything's waking up!" presumably b/c of evanuris presence but maybe in response to and less because of? But it seems to get forgotten as soon as you leave the forest areas, I wish there was a little more to it i suppose.
Tumblr media
i sort of wish we got a bit more with someone (maybe bellara) being more excited about artifacts waking up and caring less about the overall damage (or even needing an arc to realize of the harm). like the brent spiner character in independence day who's more neutral aligned than anything.
like i get that they wanted the heroes to be heroes but for the LORE NERDS i needed one character to just be hyperfixated on dalish artifacts/the magic forest regardless of the cost. were the sylphs tied to the magic of the forest? does the forest have its own magic that just resonates with the evanuris magic? is the brecilian forest just more special than arlathan? it seems like if one thedan forest is magical they all should be somewhat magical in their own way. (i 100% acknowledge that the scope of this game just couldn't cover everything but i def wish there was a little more time for the non-evanuris related magic, the titans def predate it and i kinda think the world was also naturally magic in its own way before- the evanuris are def presented as a bit of a colonialist power so that would track. It's also just more interesting if all the magic in the world isn't tied to elven/spirit stuff. Like it for sure feels fairly narrowly focused on solas/evanuris stuff which is fine I just wish there were a few more ambient scrolls/codex entries with implied other weirdness. Like I don't want everything explained just breadcrumbs left. maybe they'll get into it in a future game or other media eventually)

6 and 23 for either Blitz or Stolas? :)
Ohhhh boy! Buckle up, I guess, because this is going to be LONG and gonna get more personal as we go. I sure hope you like reading.
Tumblr media
6. What's something you have in common with this character?
Link to the original post in case anyone else wants me to infodump lol.
I might have more in common with Blitzø than I can think of at first glance, but I mostly look at him as a character I love and less one that reminds me of me.
Blitzø
Horse girl/Hyperfixation/Special Interest I've always been a horse girl. I was into the old 80s/90s MLP when I was little. I had horse posters, and toys, and stickers, and novels, books on different horse breeds and their history. From my teens on, I actually co-owned a horse with one of my parents for 19 years and was around them learning to ride earlier than that. I used to do horse roleplays on forums back in the day. I've started and stopped a historical novel over the last few years that revolves around working horses. know Brandon Rogers is actually terrified of horses, but watching the show lean into Blitzø's Horse Girl status and make all his OC's brings me joy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Avoidant tendencies I'm really, really bad at letting people in on my feelings IRL. And I'm not accustomed to meeting up with friends etc. just to "hang out," so I can empathize with his need to feel useful for people to be around them.
Creative Specifically when it comes to his drawing. I have loved art since I was a kid and obviously still make it today! I am a graphic designer by trade as well. I still doodle on sticky notes and on the corners or work notebooks. I love his doodles.
Sentimental attachment I have some necklaces and other pieces that were given to me by a grandparent as heirloom pieces, and some hats/other clothing from one of my parents who has passed. So Blitzø having his mother's skull pin resonates with me.
That might be about it for Blitzø. I can think of sort-of similarities but they feel like a stretch.
Stolas
There's a lot to put here. A lot a lot.
Privileged background childhood (to an extent) Technically, I've never been more than middle class, so definitely not the same level as Stolas. But as a young kid esp., I was technically well off. We lived in good neighborhoods. Education was prioritized. I got my first job because I was someone's kid (internship at their work). I never had a mansion/palace or housekeeping staff or anything approaching leisure lifestyle wealth. But I had access to stuff that kids from struggling families wouldn't.
Educated/'nerdy' & hyperfixations/info dumps Did I mention I had entire books on horse breeds? Yeah, that nerdy part of me has never changed. I love delving into details when it comes to information, as is probably evident by this blog. One of my parents was a teacher - we grew up going to zoos and museums and symphonies more than amusement parks. I'm prone to spouting off more info than necessary about the topics that interest me, too. I'm not good at half-investing in something or engaging casually. And like Stolas and his plants etc., a lot of my special interests are a little niche and not things that easily involve other people. I love that Stolas is just a straight up nerd, and it's an integral part of his character. Take a look at how long this post is and try to tell me I don't hyperfixate or info dump!
Tumblr media
Passive/follower I can be stubborn as hell, but I do not like being a person in charge. I find it a lot less stressful for someone else to invite me into their plans than to come up with them myself. I also stress out easily with personal conflict and will avoid it when possible.
Tumblr media
Stars/planets/space It's a motif I've always loved. The first thing I learned to sew in middle school was a pillow with a sun/moon/stars pattern. I know the stars were kind of... put onto him by his job, but he sure makes it work, and I relate to it, if you can say that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Escape through fantasy Stolas engages in either fact-driven books about his special interests or escapist romance fantasies: and honestly, mood. I've always preferred stories set in a non-modern reality. Real life gives me anxiety, and like Stolas I seem to prefer stories through the lens of a non-grounded fantasy. Probably why I'm sitting here relating to an owl demon more than any character played in a live action show. And like Stolas, some 'normal' relationship dynamics were ones I didn't experience until adulthood outside of that fiction.
Tumblr media
Anxiety issues/crying meltdowns Oooh yes, indeed! I have major anxiety issues and had my first anxiety attack in 3rd grade. Mine usually involve painfully strong sobbing and hyperventilating. I got my first stress-induced ulcer at 16-17. This sad boy and his crying meltdowns and mood swings and only ever managing to mess up socially - I relate to him so much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Masking I don't even know if I have to say anything. Anyone who's masked up during a meltdown understands this, I think. Especially if you're used to being the 'weird kid' that people don't always want around anyway.
Tumblr media
Weird/unwanted kid Here's where things get start to get complicated! I have a sibling, and we were pretty close as kids, so my experience wasn't as bad as Stolas'. But I was often the 'left out' kid in my class/neighborhood. I've been the only kid in a group excluded form games, I've been the unwanted 3rd wheel in a trio, I've alienated friends when I was into one of my hyperfixations and weirding them out, and for a good year or two I had no friends at school at all. I was made fun of by my schoolmates in front of their friends for a while - it was basically a group activity for the 'popular kids' in early middle school. So I relate to Stolas being his social group's easy target, being made fun of to his face, and having no one among his peers who seems to have his back.
Tumblr media
The 'responsible kid' who grew up too fast/existentialism Thankfully I was never pressured to marry/have kids! But I was definitely that "pleasure to have in class" goody-two-shoes student a lot. Going to college was an expectation for me: graduating high school was not considered a big deal by my immediate family (it was to my grandma though <3). Our financial situation was not as great in my teens as it was when I was little, either. A parental split, a drop in income, plus we'd moved homes 5 times in like 6-7 years. I didn't feel there were options out there for me to mess around. We couldn't afford it. I felt like I had to go to college, and I had to find a career as there weren't really backup plans. So I started early in mid-summer to save tuition and skipped the following summer break, too. I might not have been married with a kid at 19, but I already had a 2-year degree and a full-time job. I like my career, but I never had a lot of dreams as a teenager of what I wanted to do or really looked forward to adulthood. The ones I did have didn't really happen and aren't really what I'd have now. I relate to Stolas never really having a 'fun' part of his early adult life. I relate to the existential part of him that never got to make his own purpose and now struggles to see that he could ever have goals.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Traumatic responses/isolating I still don't handle raised voices well. I have likely traumatic responses to conflict and arguments, even ones at a distance that don't involve me. When my anxiety gets bad, I tend to shut people out and isolate to try and escape. Boy, do I relate to how Stolas perpetually fucks up and closes himself off the same way.
Tumblr media
Daddy issues(?) We're starting to get real personal now! My dad was not completely absent like Stolas'. But his job required him to be out of town a lot. Weeks at a time sometimes. And for as poor at communicating as I am, he was worse. Now, he did love us, which I can't say about Paimon, and my mother was always present and loving/supportive. But I didn't realize as a kid that my dad's lack of involvement wasn't normal. We moved a lot, which also caused issues because it prevented me from keeping friends for long or seeing a lot of other family dynamics. Until my teens, I thought immediate families sitting down to dinner together was sort of a fictional TV/movie thing, except big holiday get-togethers (which even then my dad would take his plate to a different room). Things got more complicated after my parents divorced. I basically never saw him face-to-face as an adult, and he rarely contacted me unless I did it first. I relate to Stolas' father being both an ever-present factor over his life yet physically/behaviorally absent.
Tumblr media
Problems under the privilege Just gonna CW: abuse. Now, my dad wasn't fully a Stella. He loved us. He was my sports coach in middle school. He took us to movies & other activities. He was also verbally and emotionally abusive. He was sometimes physically abusive (I never experienced this personally, but I witnessed it). Nothing was ever good enough to make him proud. We could never tell if he was going to have a positive or negative reaction to something, and his negative reactions were frightening. He'd change/renovate parts of the house without telling anyone. He lost/took out of state jobs multiple times and expected all of us to uproot and go along with it. The divorce obviously made his behavior worse. He eventually locked us out of the house with a bunch of our belongings still in it (goodbye horse books) and even threatened to take our horse (which he had no involvement in) as one of the assets he got in the split. One of his siblings helped support him through it and also became abusive. I cannot express how visceral that divorce argument felt in The Circus and Stella/Andrealphus' actions since. I'm sorry for whatever writer had the personal experience to write the dialogue for that scene so well, because holy shit. As an adult, my technical degree wasn't a 'real' college degree to him. He went to my HS graduation but not my college one, because just going to dinner afterward wasn't "impressive enough" for him to travel for. So again, I relate to Paimon's absence and Stolas never being good enough for his peers. I should relate more to Octavia in theory - abusive parent + good parent, divorce dynamics, etc.. But instead I heavily relate to Stolas. Until my late teens, our family from the outside looked like a well-off middle class family with an ideal situation. In reality, we functioned on the decisions of the increasingly abusive parent, while people around us expressed how lucky we were to have our comfortable life. I relate to Stolas being on edge in his own home, of how the verbal/emotional abuse escalated over time. On how his experience created issues keeping other healthy relationships. How he felt his life was so controlled. How he looked like he had a perfect life from an outside perspective but was fucked over until things unraveled publicly. For wanting to, but being unable to make an abusive person happy, no matter what he did. For the abusive person taking a ton of his possessions when the marriage broke apart, and them using their sibling as leverage. For growing up in an isolating dynamic that affected his ability to function as an adult. For not having a good grasp on making decisions, because he feels they've been frequently ripped from him beforehand. I relate to how he can be an anxiety-riddled mess as an adult with a lot of emotional issues. How he's prone to despondency and hopelessness and feels he can't/shouldn't make choices. How people expect him to behave without fault and don't believe that he's falling apart from the inside. How he messes up with other characters out of lack of experience/poor influence rather than malicious intent.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Conclusion:
Gawd this was long as predicted! It's safe to say that I love Stolas and all the many aspects they've represented with him. Yes, he's deeply flawed, but that's the point of most of the HB characters. I guess it's pretty obvious by this why I get so huffy when people see Stolas' privilege and complain that about his behavioral issues, without seeing how many problems can develop under that veneer.
As for the other option, it's impossible to pick one image as a fave for either, but I do love the style/how happy they look in this one:

To be honest with you, I never was and still am not a "Buddie shipper" per se, in the sense that I don't have an active desire to see them be boyfriends or husbands, like you know I want Robron to find their way back to each other.
My thing is, from the time I started watching 911, it was very clear to me from Season 2 Episode 1 that Buck and Eddie had a connection and they meant to each other more than friends....and it wasn't as much as Robert and Aaron mean to each other, but it was definitely more than say Sheldon and Leonard (the Big Bang Theory) meant for each other.
And for me, it is the show that keeps pushing it rather than me "wanting it". (I wish it was like that with Robron). But since I "see Buddie" in the episodes and have so from the start, in my head, that's where the SL is going. 🤷‍♀️ 😂
And bcoz that's stuck in my head, most of the time I worry that if you and others get too invested in Tommy and Buck it might lead to 💔
However , from what I can see, it is a pretty even split between Tommy+Buck Vs Buddie shippers, so the creative directors of 911 have a real choice here, especially if they want to break beyond the original format and expand the show with other units.
And Ryan Guzman makes A VERY VALID POINT in his interviews. Buck and Eddie have a very special relationship and Eddie has involved Buck in his family. And yes, Buck has had his bi awakening, and Eddie has maintained that it won't change his relationship with Buck. Irrespective of what happens in the future, if you keep watching Buck and Eddie IN THE PRESENT through the lens of whether they will get together or not, then you miss out on some of the nuances of their relationship.
Also, Eddie is not romantically interested at the moment canonically. So, there is no scope of Buddie per se! 😂 While Buck and Tommy are sort of one-off bfs. 🤷‍♀️
Anyway, not sure if you have seen this..... doing rounds on TikTok to keep Impossible dreams alive 🥲
Tumblr media
Well I think I like our chances loving Tommy and Bucktommy - I think we're very much in the will they/won't they stage of the romcom. With the outcome of it being that they will. They didn't have to bring Lou/Tommy back for 8B - hell they could have just ended things after the failed coffee date in season 7 - BUT THEY DIDN'T. There was no real reason to have Tommy fly the getaway helicopter last ep, they could have hired some random extra, they didn't have to get Lou back for that. I mean they had a kid with a hyperfixation help Athena land a plane at the beginning of the season, they could have brought that kid back to help her fly a helicopter. Surely he would have cost less than Lou.
But to have Tommy there for Bobby's last shift and Bathena's last goodbye, when he was there for Bobby's first shift and Bathena's first meeting was certainly a choice. As was showing Tommy crying watching Buck break down on the monitors while Bathena were saying goodbye. And then having Tommy be one of the people carrying the casket at the funeral. That's a huge honour - they wouldn't let any randomer do that. He's part of the firefam.
I'm not saying bucktommy is endgame (because who knows where things go next season) but... I think they'll definitely get back together.
I've always just seen Buck and Eddie as friends - you know how sometimes you just meet people you *click* with, but not (necessarily) romantically. They are each other's person - but not in the way Shannon was to Eddie or Tommy is to Buck.
But even if Ryan suddenly changes his mind on playing queer Eddie and Buck decides he's actually in love with his best friend, and Buck and Tommy broke up permanently, they would have to pry Lou/Tommy and Bucktommy from my cold, dead hands. I'm not going to stop shipping them or writing fics about them even if the show decides they're done. I mean I started watching SWAT during the winter hiatus for Lou and I have a few terrible films on my computer because he's in it, even if he's never coming back to 911 after 8x16, I'm going to keep following his career. Just like with Ryan and Danny (And Natalie Ann Jamieson because she deserved better than Amy getting killed off on emmerdale!!)
And yeah Kenny seems to be really struggling with losing Peter/Bobby. Same here Kenny! You think you want Bobby back? Kenny is the biggest Bobby fan out there - he'd probably pay Peter's wages himself if that meant Bobby could come back!

Any general headcanons for doe; romantic or just regular guy stuff :]
Tumblr media
You guys really wanna know MORE!? AHH I have had no one to talk about my beloved Doe with AH! Sorry sorry! I'm done gushing! Genuinely just happy to talk about them.
TW: YANDERE RELATED TOPICS
----------------------------------------
John Doe absolutely goes by he/they pronouns. No ya'll can't take this from me.
Even in their female form which is often referred to as "Jane Doe", I feel like that would just piss them off. I think just bc he changes his presentation doesn't mean you get to misgender them. I think despite presentation changes he'd still be himself and still go by John Doe.
So Regular Guys are pretty much pests in the Uncanny Valley. John Doe's eyes are kinda of explained in House Hunted 2 that he has to physically split his eye in half so he blends in. Personally, I think that's got to be uncomfortable all the time, so at home he does go from two eyes to one eye since he feels comfortable about it.
Many would think he's controlling which I think he can be occasionally, but not on purpose. Due to some of the things he has been through all alone, I think he views himself being controlling as protecting you, and while yeah he's a whole yandere I think he's more than willing to hear you out on making him comfortable while also accommodating your- freewill lol.
He hisses at people.
He stares at you when you sleep. There is no way ya'll convince me otherwise.
He doesn't require sleep but understands that you prefer to snuggle in bed with him at night.
He hates any of your plushies. He thinks if you hug them, you like them more than him- but he won't throw them away. He likes how soft they are.
He stutters a lot when trying to explain his feelings to you. He isn't used to people viewing him as a person over a pest.
Despite being a yandere, he is oddly good at communication if you teach him what it is and how to understand boundaries. He's going to slip up and you gotta understand that when going into the relationship.
He just orders takeout a lot. I have a weird headcanon that Regular Guys can make things from thin air so when he orders food he hands them money he just conjures. ((This man accidentally inflates the economy one eldritch magic dollar at a time.))
When he gets all hyper-realistic, he doesn't acknowledge it as "scary" to him he's sort of blind to it happening. While yes he is physically doing it, he doesn't see it so he just- kinda thinks you're being mean to him if you freak out. I think he's a visual learner so cues such as covering your eyes help him understand you're just uncomfortable, but don't love him any less.
He lets you pet his hair and despite the curls it never knots or tangles. Like it never knots up.
He isn't good with animals. Except crows love him. He likes crows.
He does try to clutter your home- and uh that's gonna require you explaining to him that humans need clean spaces to live.
Did I mention he's jealous? However, he can be really subtle about it. He just glares or waits till you turn to go hyper-realistic on someone.
He has an existential crisis in one breath, but in the next will ask you to pass the popcorn. (he is unwell)
For my FNAF bitches, he would listen to your info dump about the FNAF lore any day of the week. Any kind of hyperfixation or special interest of yours he will listen to you talk about it. He can keep up with however you talk and will never ask you to speed up slow down or stop talking. He just likes you.
He can help with chores, water CANNOT be involved.
In his Lil' Doe form (I HAVE DIBS ON THE NICKNAME >XP), he takes dust baths, but because he isn't human he doesn't have to take traditional showers. He can't too or his form does break down so please take care of him.
Despite him hating you taking showers, he learns to accept it due to the fact you explain it is a health thing. He realizes a human being is much more complex than a Regular Guy physically and requires more care than a dust bath.
He makes sure you eat. If you don't eat he becomes paranoid you will die.
Has he killed people for you? Yep.
Kinda running out of thoughts!

love the drawings you've been making for desmond and alex, what's ghosts in the machine? first i see them crawling out of your screen and now everyone's angels devils or monsters, i don't know if i'm missing something!
ah man, think it's time to try to summarize everything and apologize LMAO;; ty for asking though, i should've made things less confusing! this will be a Pretty lengthy post for irl context/backstory and "actual au" info so be ready if you want to read everything!
(for starters, the title's just a pun on the philosophical phrase "ghost in the machine" interpreted Literally and taking inspiration from clay in ac revelations, since he Was a ghost in a machine and jokingly called "my guardian angel" by des, haha)
Tumblr media
the short version: basically, "ghosts in the machine" is what i've called the au(?) where i just doodle silly "artist talking to her art muse(s)" stuff like these kinds of comics instead w me,, the ""art muse"" is whatever i'm hyperfixated on (currently desmond, the assassin brotherhood as a whole, and alex/prototype lmao):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the Full LONG version: when replaying prototype and ac awhile back, i also posted fanart on LOFTER (china’s local version of tumblr) and made a mainlander mutual/friend who drew fanart too, like her oc w the assassins in an animal shapeshifter 刺客信条乙女向 (assassin’s creed otome) au! as i’m vietnamese-american and she’s chinese, we use translators and send pictures/doodles to talk about the games and our days, and when i was replaying prototype, she started ac2 too and sent me this as commentary:
Tumblr media
from there, whenever we’d text or send pics/art, it became a running joke of sorts to also include our ""game companions"" like that fanfiction thing of “author’s note where the author and fictional characters comment on the situation and/or talk to each other”, and my doodles also became us or our computers being accompanied by them LMAO;; that’s pretty much the origin and setting of the particular doodles; just the daily shenanigans and art struggles of an artist (me and her) talking to their art muses (characters from special interests) haunting them and their computers
Tumblr media Tumblr media
as for the "supernatural" aspects, at some point desmond and alex got drawn an as angel and devil because i’ve had ridiculous “protected by a guardian angel” luck lately like surviving a car crash unharmed, they’re my favorites and associated with me, the motifs match the duo, etc, it's not really that deep and/or for a "Lore Reason";;
likewise, the brotherhood got drawn as ghosts to emphasize the “we/our computers are haunted by them” joke more, along with how my friend and i are both asian and used to like ghosts and ancestral worship casually being a part of our lives already LMAO (ig in the context of the au then, they’re basically desmond’s ancestral spirits disney-mulan-style that freeload off of his vietnamese protectee (me) for both spiritual veneration or "worship" like staying relevant in this modern age via fanart)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
for example, i'm also considering drawing like altair, ezio, connor, and edward as the vietnamese four holy beasts just to play around, things like that! there's no special lore reason aside from just personal thoughts and "oh that'd be fun to draw", they just thematically fit well being four prominent “legends” and being desmond's ancestors, etc,, haha
Tumblr media
at the end of the day, "ghosts in the machine" are just silly shenanigans of me drawing what's on my mind, from who/what i'm hyperfixated on (aka impromptu art muses for me), any thoughts/frustrations i have w daily life or drawing stuff,, and "hm this sounds cool, i could draw this design or Cool Thing" stuff. it's not really an au persay (plus i still really cringe and feel self-consciously wary about the embarrassing self-insert aspect of all this, help lmao), it’s just,, just silly personal scribblings that are kind of sharing an inside joke to everyone now, but i'm happy to know people still humor these silly drawings and are curious if there's more to it, thank you!

hihi um. i love the platonic sylvie imagines here,, could i request autistic sylvie hcs and/or sylvie with a reader his age whos special interest is also psychology…….
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AUTISTIC SYLVIE THOUGHTS!
synopsis… Autistic traits Sylvie exhibits, and how he bonded with someone with a similar special interest!
ft. Sylvester “Sylvie” Ashling, Molly Blyndeff (mentioned)
tags… fluff, autism headcanon, i don't know anything about psychology save for basics oops
word count… 728
a/n… uhmmmm hiiii do you guys remember us… being an adult is difficult guys why do we do it. anyway. autism. i am not OFFICIALLY diagnosed myself (to which my friend immediately went "you were stimming so hard at the movie today bffr"), but i suspect i am and i also relate to sylvie so a good bit of this is projection ✧ 🦝
Tumblr media
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Lovingly, have you seen this kid?
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 It goes without saying that no one in Epithet Erased is neurotypical but we’re not here to discuss that today.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Sylvie was diagnosed fairly early in life, some amount of time before he jumped a few grades.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 He doesn’t really like acknowledging his diagnosis.  Unfortunately, upon getting diagnosed, the most exposure he had to autism was his uncle, and characters that fit the "genius" stereotype on TV.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 So, of course, Sylvie absorbed the pretentiousness from these sources trying to learn about himself.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Like, is it not just canon that he uses the “neurodivergent and a minor” excuse to everything online?
“Huh–?”  Molly blinks at Sylvie’s phone screen, opened on social media, but the way he chose to phrase the reply…  “Sylvie, I-I don’t think you should say that sort of thing!” “I’m literally neurodivergent and a minor.  This ‘adult’ is the one arguing with ME!”  Sylvie defends himself with a huff, missing the way Molly gives him a look that’s a mix between disappointment and disbelief. Isn’t Sylvie always the one saying he isn’t a kid?
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Sylvie didn’t really have a lot of friends as a child, considering how he tends to act around others.  Pretentious and defensive – it’s hard to get through to the Sylvie that’s more vulnerable and actually nice.  He’s mostly in environments of predominantly neurotypical people, and he finds himself in conflict of whether he should mask or not.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 He finds his stims embarrassing for example.  His most common ones are fiddling with and pushing up his glasses, pacing, talking to himself, and messing with his hair.  He also flaps his hands when excited but tries to stop himself from doing so, calling it ‘childish.’
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 His biggest stim of all?  Playing with his yo-yo.  It’s also a comfort item.  When commuting places or even just needing to do something with his hands, he’ll find himself using his yo-yo.  He tries to say he wouldn’t die without it, but he’s definitely more tense if he can’t use it.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 His special interests include psychology (duh) and epithets.  Things he can study.  However, he has a hyperfixation on card games that comes and goes when it feels like it.  Sylvie can be really distracted by games like Horizontal Pilot Command, so much that he can procrastinate on work, making him feel bad about it afterwards.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Meltdowns are “shamefully” common for Sylvie, and he needs a lot of time to ground himself.  He usually keeps to his room and uses his sheep to rest on or surround himself with.  The fluff is therapy sometimes.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 So socially, Sylvie struggles, it’s true.  He knows it, but a little worm of denial in his head tries to say it’s because he’s superior to these people, or something like that.  So, meeting someone who's similar to him means the world.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Sylvie with low empathy, and a friend who has high empathy?  Dynamic duo.  Sylvie can wonder if he’s just a jerk due to his low empathy, and he can seek reassurance for it.  A friend can help him feel less like a terrible person.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 His favourite joke is when someone asks him for something, he goes “no,” while doing exactly as asked.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Sylvester meeting someone with a psychology special interest?  He’s in literal heaven.  Two little nerds keep talking about things that make even full grown adults feel dizzy listening to.
“Ah, like Pavlov,” you say with a nod when Sylvie finishes his study help suggestion.  The chocolate in hand is an incentive to finish the page you’re scouring through. Sylvie perks up.  “Well, yeah!  Behaviourism is really important in Pavlov’s theory.  The more a behaviour is repeated, the more it affects the mind.” “Mhm!  Although I do like B. F. Skinner’s suggestion too,” comes your reply, and Sylvie feels his jaw fall slack at the fact you even know his name.  “Stimulus first, then response, then reinforce that response.” “Exactly!”  Sylvie sits up, louder than you ever heard him.  The study session was quickly brushed aside in favour for now bringing up the founders of behaviourism.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Sylvie doesn’t know anyone else his age with his diagnosis, so it really opens his eyes being with you.  And, not to mention, he finally has a friend who really gets him.  Where would he be without you, eh?  Or, so he jokes, but you can tell he’s serious.

Hunter & Smol Philip Wittebane
Next hunter & Philip art
Here we are- with something i have never really seen fanarts of-? BUT OH WELL- a friend of mine is doing a (couple of) rps with this concept and I am all for it, and I will keep spamming about it until this smol hyperfixation doesn’t die.
The plot more or less is: a young philip wittebane falls thru some space-time pool and ends up in the canon of the series (a couple of years earlier the events of TOH), and is picked up by Belos, ending becoming a sort of special guard in his own right (is kind of more complex than that tho from what I understood). Him and hunter do not really get a long at first, but eventually grow closer and the canon events of series change accordingly. The bits they shared with me are really nice, and they are still looking for rp partners if any of you is interested into that, just pm @randomaccount95
Soooo- yeah, that is Philip wittebane and that is hunter, and their are sleeping on the Knee after a long and life-threatening mission where they had to obtain stonesleeper lungs, and they are absolutely adorable! Hunter has big brother genes literally in his bones, and with time they develop a very nice bond.
Artistic wise- i am trying to understand how to do backgrounds as they are by far my weak point. AND I WAS SO PROUD OF LIGHTENING HERE- it just looks so soft i am very happy with it! Hope you like this, and have a lovely day 🦊
