Dead or Love ~ Ellis Twilight
Tumblr media
This a fan translation so it is definitely not 100% accurate. I do not own anything related to Ikemen Villains. Support Cybird by buying their amazing stories!
Part 1 | Part 2 | Bitter End | Premium End | Epilogue
Tumblr media
Kate, I want to be your Santa Claus.
The kind of person who only gives you kindness.
However, the more time I talked to Kate,
The desires that I buried deep inside my heart and kept a lid on were writhing.
(Kate.)
Tumblr media
(You, only you, make me… just a little crazy.)
Ellis: “… I don’t want Christmas to end just yet.”
Kate: “Eh?”
I pulled Kate’s arm closer and looked into her face.
Ellis: “Kate, will you be my Santa Claus this time?”
Ellis: “You can listen to my selfishness.”
(If I say that suddenly, will that bother you?)
However, contrary to my expectations, Kate’s face suddenly brightened up.
Kate: “Yes, of course! I’ll do anything I can.”
(……)
Tumblr media
Ellis: “Fufu, you’re really…really cute.”
Ellis: “…Then, will you kiss me?”
Kate: “Ah, K-kiss?”
(Her eyes are blinking… so cute.)
Because Kate reacts so kindly and cutely,
I bury my desires deeper and deeper, keeping it a secret from Kate.
(Let’s think about the selfishness that will make Kate happy.)
(…That’s it.)
Ellis: “I’ll save the kiss for later.”
Ellis: “Instead… I want you and me to have fun together.”
--Courtyard—
Kate: “Ellis, what you want to do is… play in the snow?”
Ellis: “Yeah. This is the first year it’s snowed.”
Tumblr media
Ellis: “…Do you hate it?”
Kate: “Fufu, no way. I’m kind of excited.”
Kate: “What do we do? Snowball fight? OR—”
Tumblr media
Ellis: “What about the snow rabbit?”
Kate: “Oh, that’s great! Well then, let’s see whose is the cutest.”
Ellis: “Then I’ll make a snow rabbit that looks like you.”
Kate: “If that’s what you want, I’ll make you the cutest little Ellis bunny.”
Ellis: “But… if you use me as a model, won’t you lose?”
Kate: “I won’t lose. I’m confident.”
I can’t help but laugh at Kate’s disappointed face.
Tumblr media
Ellis: “Then, let the match begin.”
The two of us squat down, scoop up snow, and work wholeheartedly to make a snow bunny.
(…When is the last time you played like this?)
When I glanced at Kate, I noticed that she looked more serious than I did, which was kind of cute.
Maybe I like seeing Kate working hard at something.
(I thought of a grown-up date to make Kate happy.)
(But… maybe a date like this would have been better.)
With Kate, no matter where I am or what I do, I feel like I have a lot of fun.
Ellis: “…Yeah. I’m done.”
Kate: “Me too. So let’s show each other.”
Ellis: “Yeah, okay.”
Kate / Ellis: “Ready, set, go!”
Kate: “Wow, Ellis, your snow bunny is so cute!”
Ellis: “Yours is too. I guess this is a draw…?”
Kate: “Fufu, right.”
Tumblr media
(I finished making the snow bunny… Maybe I should have made it a little more slowly.)
Kate: “Ah, Ellis. Are you free for just a little longer?”
Ellis: “…? Yeah, of course. What’s wrong?”
Kate: “I feel like this isn’t enough, so I would like to add something else.”
It seems like Kate is still trying to give me something.
(Kate, Santa Claus is a great service.)
--Crown Castle—Common room—
Kate: “Sorry to keep you waiting, Ellis. Here it is.”
Ellis: “…Hot milk?”
Kate: “Yes. Your hands got cold from playing in the snow, right?”
Kate: “Besides, I was happy that you made some for me earlier, Ellis.”
(You remembered me.)
Ellis: “Thank you, Kate. I’ll take it.”
Kate: “Also, when I went to the kitchen, Victor brought out some sweets for me.”
Tumblr media
Ellis: “So many. Fufu, it’s like a party.”
Kate: “Yes, it’s our very own midnight Christmas party.”
We drank hot milk, snacked on sweets, and talked about nothing.
It’s like Christmas when I was a kid…
Memories of a distant day seemed to tumble into the palm of my hand.
Ellis: “Kate, I lied to you, a little bit.”
Kate: “…Lied?”
Ellis: “I told you that when I was a kid, we had Christmases like any other…”
Ellis: “Christmas like anywhere else ‘was’…true.”
As I told you before, my house was a really normal house,
It was a Christmas like any other.
The candles on the Christmas cake were always blown out with a single blow.
(But)
Ellis: “One day, everything fell apart.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ellis: “I wanted to get it back somehow, I tried my best but…”
Ellis: “Maybe I was the one to screw everything up in the end.”
Kate: “…”
(Maybe that’s why I was relieved every year when Jude assigned me a job.)
(If I stay busy, I don’t have to remember what I broke.)
Kate was just quietly listening to me.
Then, she murmured in a voice as calm and gentle as falling snow.
Kate: “Ellis, when you suddenly remember things from the past and are having a hard time… I’ll be by your side.”
Kate: “When you don’t want to remember, let’s talk more like this again.”
Kate: “…and, this is such a beautiful thing…”
(Aah, Kate.)
(If your words were beautiful things, there would be nothing more beautiful in the world.)
Ellis: “Thank you, Kate.”
Tumblr media
Ellis: “Hey, just one more thing… it’s selfish, okay?”
Kate: “Of course, what is it?”
I went behind Kate, who was sitting, and hugged her from behind.
Kate: “Ellis…?”
Ellis: “My family and I used to do this together and hug each other on Christmas.”
Kate: “Yes, that’s what this is? Well then…”
Kate wraps her arms around me and hugs me back.
(Kate, I’m sorry, that was also a lie.)
(I don’t know why… I wanted to do this with you.)
Again, deep within my heart, desire is writhing all over.
Tumblr media
(…no, don’t go wild.)
(I want to be nice to you, Kate.)
Kate: “Ellis, um…”
Tumblr media
Ellis: “Not yet. Please, let me stay like this just a little longer.”
After all, I don’t think I’ll be able to become the kind of Santa Claus that everyone likes.
A few days passed and before I knew it, the snow bunny I had mad that day had melted away without a trace.
When I told Kate about this, she laughed.
Kate: “Let’s make them together again next year.”
She said.
I can’t explain it well, but I was kind of… happy about that.
Very, very happy.

Transcript:
Dawn: You’re here. Atlas: I’m here. I’m so sorry, Dawn. Dawn: Me too. Dawn reaches over to rest a hand on his shoulder. Atlas covers her hand with his, and they sit like this for a while, not saying anything.
Phoenix: Have you seen these yet? Asher: Not really. I saw a couple on Atlas’ computer when he first got home, but that’s it. Phoenix: I assume he told you what happened up there… with Dawn? Asher: Yeah.
Phoenix: How is he doing? I’ve been meaning to check in, but – Asher: Oh, no, you have enough on your plate. He’s doing okay though. Not sleeping well, but otherwise, okay. Phoenix: Nightmares? [Asher nods] Phoenix: Yeah. I remember those nightmares. Asher: What do you mean those nightmares?
Atlas: Hey, do you remember when we were kids, and we learned that some twins had their own language? Dawn: Oh my god, yes, and we tried to make our own. Atlas: Except we just made these weird random sounds and pretended to understand each other. Dawn can’t help but laugh when Atlas tries to imitate their old “language”.
Dawn: Oh, and we would pass each other notes in our secret code. Atlas: [laughing] There’s no way anyone was cracking that code! Dawn: That’s because there was no code! We’d just write symbols on paper and pass them back and forth [laughing] and I put so much effort into each one! Atlas: I know! There’d be thirty or forty intricate symbols on a piece of paper, never the same one twice. It was impressive, actually. Dawn: We thought we were so clever.
Phoenix hears muffled laughter coming from the bedroom and smiles at Asher.
Phoenix: He’s always going to be better at that than me, isn’t he? Cheering her up. Asher: [shrugs] Probably. But you knew to call him, and that’s not nothing. Phoenix: Maybe I should’ve called sooner. Asher: Eh, we’re here now. How are you doing? Phoenix: [exhales loudly] I don’t even know. I’ve been so focused on her.
[Asher nods quietly]
Phoenix: It’s weird. It feels like there’s something missing now. I mean, we’d planned on having a kid eventually, but it always felt like an abstract, far away thing. Like something we’d talk about in a few years or more. But now. It’s all I can think about. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted anything more. Is that crazy?
Asher: Definitely not.
Phoenix: And now I’m worried that this was all too much for her. What if she doesn’t want to try again? What if it never happens, even if we do try? I don’t know…
Phoenix: I don’t know why I’m telling you this. Asher: Sounds like you’ve been needing to talk to someone. I don’t mind listening. Phoenix: Thanks. Normally, I’d go talk to Aurelio, but I haven’t wanted to leave. She was really starting to fucking scare me. Asher: She’ll be okay. Phoenix: [clears his throat] I hope so.
Atlas: I kept one, y’know. Dawn: You did not! Atlas: I did. You had doodled all around the edges, and clearly spent a lot of time on it. I don’t know, something about it felt important, like I needed to keep it, so I did. Dawn: Oh, I bet I know which one it was. Atlas: Yeah? I’ve always wondered, what does it say?
Dawn: Hold on let me see if I can remember it… [thinking]… Okay I got it, ready? Atlas: Yep. Dawn: It says, ‘Today I am sad / As long as you’re my brother / My heart will be glad.’
[Both laughing]
Atlas: Stop! You wrote me a haiku? Dawn: I tried. I counted and recounted the syllables so many times. Atlas: Dawn, that is so sweet! I’m keeping it forever.
Dawn: Aw, I’m glad you’re here. Atlas: Me too. Asher’s here too, and we brought his dog. Do you want to come out and say hi? Dawn: Yeah, I’d like that. Can you stay for dinner? Atlas: Sure. Gimme a hug first though. I’ve missed you.
Atlas: Listen to me. Don’t start shutting people out again, okay? Dawn: I know. I didn’t mean to. I just… I couldn’t stand to see the pain I’ve caused him. Atlas: You didn’t cause anything; it wasn’t your fault. And he needs you now just as much as you need him. Dawn: … Is he angry? Atlas: No, he’s just worried.
Atlas: It’s okay if you need time to grieve, but you’ve gotta eat. You have to take care of yourself. Dawn: I will. Atlas: Promise me. Dawn: I promise.

The Scottish Boy by Alex de Campi - 5/5 stars
This book managed to rip my heart out at least 3 times. I loved it. Medieval enemies-to-lovers slow burn; very romantic. Kinda read like fanfiction at times but in a good way. 10/10 would read a follow-up love story about Arundel and Captain Wekena. If you like Captive Prince, give this one a try.
Reforged by Seth Haddon - 4/5 stars
Pretty good bodyguard romantasy. Ironically CS Pacat blurbed this one (another am-I-in-the-matrix moment). The world was interesting and I enjoyed the politics, though they're definitely not as complicated as other SFF politics I've gone feral over (see: Captive Prince, Winter's Orbit, A Memory Called Empire). I ordered the sequel after I finished this.
The Doctor's Date by Heidi Cullinan - 4/5 stars
A Power Unbound by Freya Marske - 5/5 stars
Where do I start? I love, love, LOVE A Marvellous Light. It's one of my favorite books ever. None of the rest of the books in the trilogy could live up to it, really, because it's so good. You'll notice I rated this one 5 stars though, because quite honestly I fell prey to a bit of The Academy Paying The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Its Due syndrome. I did love this book and thought it was better than A Restless Truth (which I still loved!) but part of that is, quite frankly, just due to the fact that I prefer m/m romance to f/f romance.
Anyway. This was such a good finale to the trilogy. I loved that the romance was a giant middle finger to purity cultists. I loved that one of the mains was Italian. I loved finally getting the story of what happened to the Alston twins. One thing I thought was really cool was how, viewed from the outside, you totally get why Edwin is such a loner. I really admire from a writing perspective how Marske pulled that off.
I feel like there's a lot to be said about what Marske was trying to SAY with this book, but I definitely need to reread it first before I can articulate any of it. The purity culture stuff is obvious, but the magic system too. I feel like Jack when he's almost able to connect everything in his mind into a bigger idea, but he can't quite get there.
I've got a special edition from Illumicrate coming, so I'll be rereading it when I have that.
Oh also, this book was the embodiment of all that one tumblr post -
Tumblr media
The Guncle by Steven Rowley - 5/5 stars
I saw this in bookstores for years before I finally gave in and bought it. The blurb makes it sound insufferable and twee. Ignore the blurb. This was such a good book about grief and learning how to live again after terrible loss.
I Like Me Better by Robby Weber - 4/5 stars
At last I can stop getting the Lauv song stuck in my head whenever I set eyes on this book (it's stuck in my head as I type this). Pretty standard-issue YA, but it was cute and had a good message.
The Stagsblood King by Gideon E Wood - 4/5 stars
Another book about moving on from grief! This is the second book in a trilogy. When I was trying to determine if I wanted to read on beyond book 1, I scoured the internet for information about what happens in books 2 and 3. Eventually I decided, hell, I enjoyed book 1 well enough, even if what I want to happen in the rest of the trilogy doesn't happen, they're worth reading. SO, to that end, I will tell anyone looking for info that Tel gets romantically involved with a new man in this one, which, eh. I still want him to somehow end up with Vared. It was still quite good though.
In the Lives of Puppets by TJ Klune - DNF at pg 82
So funnily, we were at the bookstore the day I was about to start reading this, and my wife pointed out Ravensong (also by Klune) to me and said, "Do you have this one?" I made a face and said, "That's an older one of his books and I'm wary of his early work after that horrible Verania series. I don't think I've ever read an author as hit or miss as TJ Klune."
I wrote the above when I was 60 pages in and now I have officially DNFed this. Listen. You know how in Thor: Love and Thunder, Taika Waititi was clearly given free rein to do whatever he wanted, so all of his worst impulses made it to the final cut unchecked? Yeah. That's what this book is like.
Here's my Storygraph review: I see Klune is officially Too Big To Edit now. This book has exactly the same problem that his awful Verania series had—a joke that's funny at first but quickly grows tiresome when it's repeated five times per page. The emphasis on Victor's asexuality was also weird and read like Klune was just super proud of himself for writing an ace character.
Lion's Legacy by LC Rosen - 4.25/5 stars
Queer, YA Indiana Jones, but less #problematic. This book had some eerie similarities to my own archaeology adventure novel(s), which made me wonder half-seriously if I somehow know Lev Rosen? Anyway, I feared this would be very heavy-handed and not nuanced on archaeology's ethical dilemmas, since it's YA and also the current culture is to view said dilemmas as completely black and white with no nuance, but I was pleasantly surprised. It manages to examine that, queerness, and daddy issues, plus has time to be a genuinely fun and exciting adventure story. Highly recommend.
Too White to be Coloured, Too Coloured to be Black by Ismail Lagardien - 4/5 stars
I picked up this memoir in a bookstore at OR Tambo airport in Johannesburg as research for Six Places to Fall in Love, since Percy is coloured. A pretty brutal read, but good, and definitely good research. The author was a photographer and journalist through the most violent years of apartheid.
The Splendid and the Vile by Erik Larson - 5/5 stars
Two nonfiction books in a row?? This is the second book by Erik Larson I've read, the first being the excellent The Devil in the White City. I'm not, in general, all that interested in WWII when it comes to military history, but this book is about the day to day lives of Churchill and the people surrounding him (with brief stops to visit FDR and high-ranking Nazis sprinkled throughout). This is a very, very good book, and I recommend reading it if only as a reminder of the resilience and bravery of ordinary people under terrifying circumstances.
Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh - 5/5 stars
Holy shit. Holy shit is this book good. Imagine the love child of Lost, Person of Interest, and Battlestar Galactica, but queer and with multiverse shenanigans thrown in.
I need everyone to read this book. Now. Yesterday. Get to it.

Hi! 😊
Could you please do just some general headcanons for being kunikidas s/o? And preferably if you could add a few headcanons of kunikida with a short s/o as well?
Thanks and have a good day/night ❤️
Hi, thank you sm for the request dear! We love Kida in this house so I am very happy to do some headcanons <3
Kunikida definitely is protective over you; His job can get very dangerous very quickly so he tries to keep you away from the agency
Another reason he tried to keep you away was because of one particular person... Dazai.
And like always, he was right to do so.
You and Kida were shopping together for some things around the house when he heard a familiar voice that ruined his mood.
"Oh is that the Kunikida Doppo I seeeeee?" Dazai, ready to annoy Kunikida, ran over to the both of you
Based on his appearance, you already figured it was the Dazai you'd heard so much about
Dazai was surprised to see you with Kunikida, but it didn't take long before he grabbed your hand
"These beautiful strong hands... Would you do me the honors of joining me in a double sui-" "Oh Kida warned me you would do this." "...Eh?"
You slowly took Dazai's hand away as you went and leaned on Kunikida, "I don't believe I've properly introduced myself, Hi I'm Y/n L/n, I'm Kida's partner." You smiled as Kunikida put a hand on your shoulder
". . .YOU'RE WHAT!?"
That was the first and probably the last time you met Dazai
Kunikida is a very time-orientated person, so if you're one of those people who takes a million years to get ready he'll lose it
"..Dear.. We need to be leaving soon." "Just 5 more minutes Kida!"
He tries to be polite about it, but at some point, he just politely pushes you out the door, which you don't mind
Although Kunikida is a very strict man, he has soft moments a lot.
Particularly when he's burnt out, he craves some attention from you
When he is burnt out you can usually tell pretty quickly
He loves being cuddled during these times, he likes laying his head on your chest and listening to your heartbeat, it's soothing for him
Usually, though, it's you being cuddled at night
Kuni loves being big spoon, it makes him feel like he can protect you at night
You tend to wake up later than him, so he always makes you breakfast before leaving for work
He also leaves you little notes before he goes to work, reminding you to eat and drink water
Kunikida also makes an effort to text you all throughout the day to make sure you're okay, it's quite cute how much he worries about you
Kunikida is very tall, standing at 6'2, so it's almost inevitable his spouse would be shorter than him
He prefers it that way tbh, he loves sneaking behind you and leaning down to kiss your forehead
He also enjoys picking you up and throwing you into bed when you've stayed up for too long
You've made a habit of jumping into his arms when he gets home, which has backfired a few times; He still loves it though cause he gets to catch you
When you go on your tip toes to try to kiss him, he simply picks you up to kiss him
In public, he's not big on PDA, but if anyone even looks at you wrong he'll be confronting them immediately
He does hold your hand in public occasionally though
Kunikida does try to make time for dates and quality time for you as much as he can
At the end of a long day, the two of you typically wind down with him reading to you quietly
It's very calming, and is the perfect way to calm the both of you down
There we go! I hope I did our boy some justice; Hope you have a wonderful Day/Evening/Night! ❤️❤️

Remember Summer Days - Chapter 3: How Are Things On the West Coast
Tumblr media
Read Chapter 2 here.
Chapter 3 is here. This is just a passion project for me. I'm grateful for your time to to read my little fanfic.
Word Count: 2K
There's a lot of banter in this one. This will be definitely a slow burn.
I'll be posting this also on AO3 if you prefer that as well.
July 2007
Gojo was picked up on Hollywood/Vine by his driver. He remained silent on the car drive, pondering if Isabel would make it home safely. The evening was coming. He liked that Los Angeles had these cotton candy-coloured skies, and he began to notice the sun setting slowly. He checked his messages to see if Isabel had messaged him. The only text message he had received was from Suguru Geto.
[Suguru]: Hey, you doing okay? Are you coming back soon?
Gojo quickly responds. He knows better than to leave his best friend hanging.
[Satoru]: Yeah, heading back right now. Should be there soon.
What do 3 seventeen-year-olds do when one of them has enough money to swim in it? You rent a house in the Hollywood Hills. It was Gojo’s idea to rent the house because 1) He thought he’d be able to see the Hollywood Sign from where he was staying 2) He figured he could live the dream like a movie star living in the Hollywood Hills. The house was a mid-century modern house. There were large windows that showed various views of LA. Outside was a pool that oversaw the skyline. The house included 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a giant living room, a dining room, and a kitchen.
The house was located a stone’s throw away from the Chateau Marmont. If he wanted to, he could also just go hang out there and throw a party. However, the house felt more convenient to stay for the duration of the trio’s stay. Gojo walks into the home and sees Shoko Ieri sitting on the sofa nearby. Meanwhile, Suguru is in the kitchen preparing dinner.
“Satoru, where did you go?” asked Suguru
“Eh, just wanted to go check out some movies at a nearby record store,” Satoru answered.
“Oh yeah, what did you get?” Shoko interjected.
“I have Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Gremlins, and Back to the Future. Which of these 3 would everyone be interested in watching?”
Shoko was currently reading a fashion magazine that she had picked up on the coffee table. “Isn’t Gremlins a Christmas movie?” she asked.
“Arguably, it can be” responded Satoru.
“Dinner is ready” shouted Suguru. “I think Ferris Bueller’s Day Off would be a great watch. 3 kids skipping school to go out in a car. Sounds very familiar, doesn’t it?”
“Yeah, it does” Satoru respond. At this moment, he just remembered to check his phone. He has yet to receive a text message from Isabel. He double-checks again, and nothing from the girl he had just met. Did she make it home okay? Should he have just given her a ride despite her protests?
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Isabel had a bit of a commute. After the subway, she needed to transfer over to take the rail line at Union Station. She knew that it would only take a while to get home because of the wait times for the trains to come. However, Isabel knew to pick up the pace to get home. It was nearly sundown and she did have a curfew that she couldn’t break.
While on her way, she listened to her iPod. She looked at her phone and contemplated if she should message Satoru. She was anxious about texting him first because she didn’t want to seem too needy. She already displayed herself as a damsel in distress after nearly fainting earlier. God, how embarrassing she thought. She played with her phone while on the rail line. She’s nearly home.
“I’m sure he’s not really worried about me. Why would he? He just met me” she thought.
She arrives at her stop and starts making the quick walk home. As she arrives her mother greets her and asks what she purchased. Isabel shows her mother the Amélie DVD and the Interpol album that she wanted. She hugs her mother and thanks her for allowing her to make the purchase today. Her mother is quick to respond with a hug and welcomes her.
“Are you hungry?” Isabel’s mom asks in Spanish.
“Yes. All I had was a coffee earlier.” Isabel responds in English.
“You need to stop drinking coffee.”
“Why? It doesn’t impact my sleep. Plus, I needed it to finish my homework tonight.”
“Alright then, I’m just saying. Did anything else happen while you were out?”
Isabel ponders if she should tell her mother about the boy she talked to her earlier. However, she didn’t want to get her hopes up with Satoru. Isabel wanted to see if Satoru could be her friend. Of course, she would want something more; the truth is, she felt that she never stood a chance with him.
“No, just got the movie, the CD, the coffee, and hurried back here”.
Her insecurities stem from the way the last year has gone by. A boy that she had developed immense feelings for had used her to see if he could ask out her friend instead. In addition to this, she had a boyfriend for about a month and didn’t like that he was too handsy with her. Her boundaries were not respected and this relationship proved not to be very fruitful. Overall, the love department didn’t seem very lucky. The best things she had going for her were her music, Mariella, and the one or two people that she interacted with at school.
Once she finished her dinner, she closed the door to her room. Surrounded by music posters, pictures of art and buildings, she proceeded to walk to her desk where her stereo was. She went ahead and played her newly purchased album. She skipped immediately to the Heinrich Maneuver. She thought the name of the song was funny considering the act of performing the actual Heinrich Maneuver.
How are things on the west coast…
She looked at her phone and wondered if now was a good time to text Satoru. Her anxiety to seem desperate scared her, but he deserved to know that she was safe. After all, he was there to help her and walked her to her stop. No one just does that right?...
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The gang had just started watching Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Empty plates on the coffee table, the room was dark to set the ambience for movie watching. Satoru was waiting for his phone to ding.
“It’s been ages since I’ve heard from her. Where the hell is she?…” he thought
The vibration on the table was heard. It was Satoru’s phone.
[Isabel]: Hey. Thanks again for walking me to the station. Sorry for not letting you know sooner that I had made it home.
Satoru curled his lips upwards. His friends quickly caught sight of this.
“Who are you talking to?” Shoko asked.
“Yeah, what happened today?” Suguru questioned as well.
“I met a girl. She’s cool, but also so…frail.” Satoru responded.
“Huh. That’s not the kind of girl that you usually go for. I thought your type of girl was the feisty one who doesn't want you at all.” Shoko said.
“Well, what happened?” Suguru pried.
“I was just trying to find movies to add to my collection, the next thing I knew, there’s this girl just staring at me. I began to talk to her. She was pretty cool. She knew a lot about movies and music.”
Satoru is not one to shy away from talking to girls. He’s had his flings and relationships. They never lasted that long. He either got very busy with school or broke it off before he could get derailed from the ambitions that his family had set up for him. He knows he eventually will take over his family’s major company when he finishes his post-secondary studies. Everything had been laid out for him. Romance was very far from his mind. However, he took a liking to Isabel today. He just wanted to make sure she was safe. What was that about?
“Just be careful. We’re not here for a long time and nothing more can come from that.” Suguru said firmly.
“I know…” Satoru responds despondently. He wants to ignore this advice and talk to Isabel. He wonders what this could be, but he is aware that their future isn’t forever.
[Satoru]:  Woman! Did something happen?
Isabel reads the message from her phone. She begins to laugh.
[Isabel]: Woman?! Who do you think you’re talking to?
[Satoru]: Oh, we got a badass over here. Well SORRYYY for worrying.
Isabel found herself amused. Also, slightly irritated because there was nothing to worry about. She is beginning to think he likely perceives her as weak.
[Isabel]: I’m not a weenie hut jr’s, dude. Also, who do you think you are to call me “woman”?
[Satoru]: Please. You should be flattered that I even spoke to you today. May I remind you that I helped you out earlier?
[Isabel]: Oh I’m sorry. Should I be grateful?
[Satoru]: Is this sarcasm?
[Isabel]: Maybe it is, Gojo.
[Satoru]: I told you, it’s Satoru, Izzy.
[Isabel]: Izzy? Who the fuck is that
[Satoru]: You, dummy.
[Isabel]: Hey!
[Satoru]: I bet you’re laughing, right?
Isabel liked that she was already on a nickname basis. However, she still felt apprehensive. She felt that maybe this is where the conversation should end.
Satoru changes Isabel’s contact name. A small smile appears.
[Izzy]: Anywho, cool talking to you. I’ll let you get back to whatever you’re doing with whoever you’re doing it with.
[Satoru]: My friends and I are watching Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. IZZY, do you want to have a day at the museum?
[Isabel]: Absolutely. I want to hold hands in the gallery with my friends and admire the art. There are a few art museums in LA that are worth checking out, but haven’t gotten around to them.
[Satoru]: What’s stopping you?
[Izzy]: No one to go with.
[Satoru]: Are you asking me to go with you?
[Izzy]: Pfft, no.
[Satoru]: What if I want to hang out with you?
[Izzy]: Don’t you have your own friends to hang out with too?
[Satoru]: They came a long way to hang out, but we all have our mutual interests too. Suguru likes books, and Shoko likes to shop and go to the beach when she can.
[Izzy]: They seem really cool.
[Satoru]: They are. You can meet them sometime if you want. They don’t bite
[Izzy]: Sure, if you’d like.
[Satoru]: I just said you can.
He was surrounded by his closest friends. So why does he feel the push to keep talking to her? At this point, Isabel is beginning to feel it’s now or never.
[Izzy]: When do you want to hang out?
Satoru sees that Isabel is making an effort to be open. He is not going to deny her his company. He has nothing to lose at the end of the day either.
[Satoru]: I know you mentioned that you’re in school, right? Unless…you want to skip school tomorrow?
[Izzy]: I shouldn’t. I’m free on Friday afternoon/evening.
[Satoru]: Sure. I’m definitely dropping you off home this time though.
[Izzy]: God no. It’s not necessary.
[Satoru]: I insist. I want to see you go inside your house.
[Izzy]: I live in an apartment.
[Satoru]: Same thing. I just want to make sure that nothing can happen to you.
Isabel was taken aback by this. Why does he insist on being chivalrous? He doesn’t owe her that. She is beginning to feel very comfortable with him too.
[Izzy]: There’s no big bad wolf outside. I’ll be safe.
[Satoru]: I will insist, woman. That’s the last that we’ll talk about this.
[Izzy]: Fine. Have you ever seen real-life tar pits?
[Satoru]: Can’t say I have. Doesn’t sound romantic.
[Izzy]: It’s not a date, stupid. I’m showing you how cool this place is.
[Satoru]: By taking me to some smelly pits.
[Izzy]: Whatever then. Meet me at the La Brea Tar Pits at 5 pm on Friday. We can walk to the art museum after.
[Satoru]: K, woman. See you then.
“ Idiot,” she thought. Now she’s thinking about what Friday will be like. How will the day play out? Will she bore him at the end of the day? Why would he even want to talk to her?
Satoru relays the information to his friends about his plans with Isabel on Friday. However, Suguru’s words ring back to his head.
We’re not here for a long time and nothing more can come from that.

HELLO
5, 10, 13, 15, 18, 19, 21, 29 from here
(i just realised that that's a lot so feel free to skip some/answer selectively if you want to do that!)
CAL HIIIII!!!!
(are you kidding ofcourse I'm gonna answer all of that, let's make a game out of it and see how long it takes me)(it's 15:05 when I started answering)
5. Favourite song in your native language
Can't think of one rn😭 The first one that came to mind is Venmadhi Venmadhi from Minnale because some guy was playing that on the bus yesterday. I think it's a lovely song, especially the third verse :)
10. Most enjoyable swear word in your native language
I don't really swear in Tamil😂 I only use words like stupid/wastrel/dog/buffalo... y'know the most common ones lol
But, again, the first swear word that came to mind is *looks around to make sure no one's listening* "watha" - which is basically the Tamil equivalent of fuck - because one of my friends called another friend that this morning lmao
13. Does your country (or family) have any specific superstitions ot traditions that might seem strange to outsiders?
Well there's so many but i generally think that doing rituals/ chanting slokas or vedas must be very strange to outsiders who aren't really used to that! Imagine being a white christian and you encounter a yagna happening with a giant fire, lots of huge shirtless men saying very weird words in their blaring voice, adding all kinds of different things into the fire, while surrounding people watched on... I'd be terrified 😂💀
15. A saying, joke, or hermetic meme that only people from your country will get?
SO BEAUTIFUL. SO ELEGANT. JUST LOOKING LIKE A WOW.
18. Do you speak with a dialect of your native language?
Gosh I speak so many dialects - depending on who I'm talking with. There's what I consider the normal one, there's the one mixed with random English sentences😂, there's the local chennai dialect for when I'm dealing with/in public or local vendors💀, there's the tambrahm (wow it feels weird to say it like that) dialect because that's what I was raised on in mum's side of the family
19. Do you like your country's flag and/or emblem? What about the national anthem?
I've honestly never thought about this before...
Flag - 🇮🇳 It's a good one, I like what it stands for. But no one would forget the struggle it would take when you were 6 years old and were asked to draw the national flag and you wouldn't remember how many spokes are there in the ashoka chakra😭 or even if you remembered, you wouldn't know how to divide them evenly throughout the circle... So much stress. 7/10
Emblem - it's a bit complex if you ask me but eh. It looks cool i guess. I like the phrase 'satyameva jayathe' ("truth alone triumphs" in Sanskrit) so there's that :p 5/10
National Anthem - I love it!! I like the picture it paints, listing out all those places! Only criticism is that it was very difficult for younger abi to sing the beginning because it was so very low and i struggled for a long time😅 9/10
21. If you could send two things from your country into space, what would they be?
Aloo mutter gravy and methi roti👍
29. Does your region/city have a beef with another place in your country?
I was thinking really hard...before i realised🤭
MYSURU. WHY do you do that to your sambar??? It's nice, I'd be lying if I said it's bad, but how?????? How did you come to the decision "oh you know what. I'm gonna make this taste sweet. Yeah."??
We went to Mysore one time and had some sambar and do you know what happened, cal? My cousin threw up, that's what happened.
(it was because of the long uphill travel but the sambar definitely contributed :p)
What you lack in sambar, you make up for it with Udupi rasam so. I forgive you😤
(now the time is 15:55)

SR Vil Schoenheit Lab Coat Personal Story: Part 2
"More accurate than any scale"
(Part 1) Part 2
Tumblr media
[Heartslabyul Dorm – Kitchen]
Trey: Sorry to keep you waiting, Vil. Here's your herbal tea.
Vil: Thank you, Trey. …What a nice fragrance.
Trey: I also brought some cake, just in case. I just baked it today.
Vil: I can certainly see that it is something for you to be proud of. However, I'll refrain and simply have the herbal tea.
Vil: …Mm, it's delicious. Where did you get these tea leaves?
Trey: At the Mystery Shop. They seldomly get tea from this long-standing brand in stock, so.
Trey: If you like it, do you want to take some with you? I got a lot of it, and I feel like the flavor will fade before I can finish it all.
Vil: Then, I suppose I shall. Will you wrap it up for me later?
Trey: So… what were you saying earlier? What did Rook do?
Vil: It wasn't really anything. If I must tell you, I guess I'd just say that he just watches me too closely?
Vil: I guess it's more or less convenient that he can sense changes about me faster than I can.
Vil: But don't you think he's absolutely the worst to just ask me point blank if I've gained weight?
Vil: Honesty and lack of tact are two separate things. Perhaps he left his tact in the forest.
Trey: Ah… Yeah, he probably shouldn't have said it that way.
Trey: Rook's the type to say whatever's on his mind, for better or worse, so it's surprised me from time to time, too.
Vil: Hm. It should have been obvious, but I see he's like that during club, too.
Trey: Like, just the other day, he said that the experiment that our advisor set up for the club to do would be "boring as it is now"…
Trey: So, we ended up having to do a real complicated experiment. All the first years were pretty much unable to do anything at all.
Vil: I can definitely picture that happening.
Vil: And I'm sure you were there helping out those first years, weren't you?
Trey: I don't know how much help I was, but yeah, I guess.
Vil: So hard working, all the time…
Vil: Riddle is quite lucky that you're in Heartslabyul.
Trey: Eh?
Vil: It comes up during the Dorm Leader meetings from time to time, that you're an exceptional Vice Dorm Leader.
Trey: Oh, man… That's the first I'm hearing of it. Honestly, it's a little surprising.
Trey: I just don't want to lose my head, is all. I haven't done anything worth that much praise.
Vil: Don't be so modest. Accept the compliments when they're given to you.
Vil: Those who cannot see your true nature may be completely taken in by your humility.
Vil: Well, if that's the kind of impression you want to leave, that's fine, but… Generally, you'll come out worse for wear.
Trey: That's a bit harsh. But I'm sure you know what you're saying, especially since you're always in the public's judging eye.
Trey: I'll try to slightly change how I do things from now on.
Vil: Please do. That'll also make the one who complimented you feel better as well.
Vil: Besides, you won't pile on so much stress if you just let yourself be happy at least when you're receiving praise.
Vil: Especially since you're usually running around taking care of a spoiled little boy, after all.
Trey: Oh, it’s not like I'm stressing out over Riddle.
Vil: Well, okay. Whatever you say.
Trey: No, it's true. That's because I know the secret to not being stressed.
Vil: Oh, a secret? Now I'm curious.
Trey: Do you want to know?
Vil: Well, aren't you acting all high-and-mighty all of a sudden?
Trey: I'll only tell you once, so listen well.
Vil: Alright…
Trey: Don't skimp on the sweets, especially cake with a ton of fruit on it.
Vil: Ugh. You were putting on such airs, and I got so drawn in. …Heh.
Vil: Fine. I'll have one slice of your fruit cake.
Vil: I'll just have to increase how much I run tomorrow morning.
Trey: Maybe this isn't something I need to tell you, since you're a model, but…
Trey: I don't think a single cake slice will change your figure that much. You're already pretty thin, anyway.
Vil: I'd rather you say I'm "toned," not "thin."
Vil: However, Rook's sharp gaze is more accurate than any scale. And perhaps better than a mirror, as well.
Trey: Wow…
Tumblr media
Vil: Mm, it's delicious. Trey, did your skills increase yet again?
Vil: If you ever lose your head to Riddle, come see me. I'll make you my dormitory's exclusive pastry chef.
Trey: I'll do my best so that doesn't happen.
Trey: I bet it'll be a lot of calorie counting if I had to make pastries over in Pomefiore.
Vil: And that would also be a good way to improve as well, now, wouldn't it?

New Moon with Billy
Warnings: references to Twilight, fluff
Word Count: 600ish
Tumblr media
“What was he thinking, dumpin’ her in the woods like that? That’s a dick move, that’s what that is.”
“It really is,” you agree with a sniffle.
“Aw, baby, are you crying already?”
“Hey, I gave you full warning and he was super mean.”
Billy just chuckles softly and continues to trace his fingers up and down your back.
“She’s gonna get herself killed for some guy 5 times her age.” Billy shakes his head in disapproval. “I really don’t get it.”
“She misses him. They had an emotionally intense relationship and she probably had trauma bonded with the whole family onesidedly and then he just leaves her with nothing to help her process it. That makes people do crazy things.”
Billy leans back to look at you. “You speakin’ from experience?”
“A bit.”
Billy frowns and gently grabs your jaw with his hand, turning your head to look him in the eye. “No one is ever worth you gettin’ hurt. You got that?”
“I know, Billy.” You did now, your teenage years and early twenties were another story. Bill had been with you for most of that, but you’d hid a lot of the shit you went through.
He seems placated by your answer, pulling your face towards his and pressing a kiss to your forehead before he tucks your head back onto his shoulder.
“Oh come on, I was rooting for the Jacob guy and he blew it too!”
You giggle a bit at his enthusiasm.
“Are you laughin’ at me now, baby?”
“Nope. Definitely not.”
“I think you’re lyin’, sweetheart.”
“I just think it’s funny that you were so opposed to starting the Twilight Saga and now you’re invested. It’s cute.”
“I am not ‘cute’,” Billy insists indignantly.
“You totally are.”
“Only when I'm with you, you dork,” Billy says affectionately.
“So I’m your best friend, right?”
“Uh uh, I ain’t fallin’ into that trap. You and Frankie can keep your competition to yourself.”
“Damn, I thought I had you for a second there.”
Billy continues to insult the intelligence of the characters in the movie, especially Edward. “He doesn’t even check to confirm everything before goin’ to off himself. Utter bullshit. He’s over a hundred years old, the man should have better common sense.”
“You can’t fix stupid,” you respond sagely.
“No you cannot,” Billy agrees.
When the movie ends, Billy is still complaining and you listen to it goodnaturedly.
“And now it looks like he’s gonna actually get her killed.”
“Eh, we’ll see,” you say. Both of you yawn simultaneously. “You wanna stay over? I can make waffles in the morning.”
“Sounds good, sweetheart.”
It’s not unusual for you and Billy to share a bed after movie night. In fact, it happens so often that you have a drawer of his stuff and an extra toothbrush at your apartment. The two of you go through your nightly routines, purposely bumping into each other and fighting for the sink in your tiny bathroom.
When you finally climb into bed, you know you’re going to sleep well tonight. The both of you are on your sides and Billy grabs you and pulls you close until your back is flush against his chest.
“Don’t hog the blankets this time,” you warn. You don’t really need them, but you like to tease Billy any chance you can.
“I wouldn’t have to hog them if you would just stay where I put you.”
“It’s not my fault I wiggle in my sleep and I always stay by you, you just somehow, end up with all the blankets on your side.”
“‘Cause you kick them off, sweetheart.”
“I am admitting, nothing, but if that is the case, it’s because you run hotter than a frickin’ werewolf.”
“I got that reference.”
“‘M proud of you. Now go to sleep.”
“Good night, baby.”
“Night, Billy.”

My Annual Eurovision List - 2023
Completely based on music videos until we actually see some staging. Don’t come at me.
37. POLAND
Solo – Blanka
LMAO fuck TVP. Jann would have been my winner.
36. LITHUANIA
Stay (ČIŪTO TŪTO) – Monika Linkytė
Bleh. I know some people really like this song, but...bleh. There’s nothing here that sticks with me. The song was over and I forgot what it sounded like. I don’t know, I’m used to more from Lithuania.
35. IRELAND
We Are One – Wild Youth
This is the point where I feel like too many bands are hurting this year. They would have been fine any other year, but comparing them to the other bands this year, they’re quite weak. I also expect them so sing “We are Young” every single time...what is fun. up to anyway? (hiatus, apparently.)
34. AZERBAIJAN
Tell Me More – TuralTuranX
Uh...it’s a song. Their name reminds me of Duran Duran. Remembering the name of Duran Duran was the main thing I did while listening to this song. I abolutely HATE spoken word, oh my god. And apart from that, this sounds like one of those songs from an average to slightly bad romcom. Not even the ending song, but the one from the middle, the part where the producers knew that they wanted to convey the passage of time so they simply chose to do a montage.
33. ALBANIA
DUJE – Albina dhe Familja Kelmendi
The guy singing in between is absolutely taking me out. Definitely would’ve liked this more if the chorus hit harder, like this it’s just...kind of sad? But not the good kind, the melodramatic kind (which I can appreciate, to a certain extent, but not to THIS extent.)
32. CYPRUS
Break A Broken Heart – Andrew Lambrou
Did you know that Andrew actually wanted to participate for Australia in 2022? Yeah. I googled this while listening to the song because it has nothing that pulls me in. It’s fine, don’t get me wrong, he has a great voice, but...eh.
31. GREECE
What They Say – Victor Vernicos
Why is he a child. I like the chorus, kind of, but that’s pretty much it. Very meh.
30. LATVIA
Aijā – Sudden Lights
Another song that really takes its time to build up to nothing noteworthy, which is a shame, because in its basics, I quite enjoy it. It’s just a little...frustrating when the chorus comes and goes and nothing in me has changed? Idk lmao.
29. SWITZERLAND
Watergun – Remo Forrer
This is my grandma’s favourite song this year, yay? For some reason I keep reading his name as Ferrero Rocher. The letters barely match, I think it’s just because this is Switzerland. (yes, ferrero is italian, idk.) Oh, the song? It’s fine. It’s not his fault he’s not Gjon.
28. ICELAND
Power – Diljá
It’s fine. Feels very generic, but doesn’t hit hard enough to justify it. Specifically considering it’s Iceland sending it.
27. ARMENIA
Future Lover – Brunette
Surprisingly good in theory, but in the end I only actually like the middle part. The beginning is well sung but a little too slow for me, and I don’t really enjoy the end in general? I’m very unsure with this.
26. NETHERLANDS
Burning Daylight – Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper
I don’t find any joy anymore either, dude. We’re so in synch, damn. Why does the first chorus do that thing where it teases a nice build up for half a second just to drop immediately? And then the second one doesn’t even properly redeem it. Ruined the whole song for me, genuinely. Not that I liked it a lot before, ehem.
25. DENMARK
Breaking My Heart – Reiley
I listened to this and kept thinking that it sounds like a song I already know, but...turns out it was just this song the whole time. Apparently someone at my local radio station really likes it. I don’t, really, I feel like I might be too old for this type of music. Talking about this...you’re telling me Reiley is OLDER than me? What the hell.
24. ITALY
Due Vite – Marco Mengoni
Second year in a row where Italy doesn’t really do it for me, damn. At least it’s a lot better than whatever was going on last year with Brividi. I still liked Supereroi a lot more and think it should have won. Meh.
23. SAN MARINO
Like an animal – Piqued Jacks
Certainly a song. All I could think about while watching this is one Youtube comment simply saying “He is a little hot” because...they’re not wrong? The song itself just doesn’t hit – but I have the fleeting suspicion that this might be fixed by having the sound mixing done by literally anyone that ISN’T San Marino. I don’t even dislike it or anything.
22. ESTONIA
Bridges – ALIKA
I know that everybody loves this, okay? It’s good enough. Perfectly good ballad. It’s not her fault I dislike most ballads. I do like the last minute though, it picks up a lot, I enjoy that.
21. AUSTRALIA
Promise – Voyager
I love how Australia is really going through the classic Eurovision evolution. My right ear also likes the song. I watched the music video, and I think the left one just didn’t get invited or something. It’s actually REALLY off-putting.
20. SLOVENIA
Carpe Diem – Joker Out
Please don’t come for me, but why does everyone love this SO much? Like, I like it a bit too, but not as much as everyone else seems to? I genuinely feel like I’m missing something here.
19. BELGIUM
Because Of You – Gustaph
This is so groovy, I don’t know why everybody hates it. (I mean, I DO know, but apart from that...it’s not that bad.) It’s not the best thing I’ve ever heard, and the aspect ratio of the official music video freaks me out, but it’s very camp – which is a good thing, obviously this is Eurovision after all!
18. UNITED KINGDOM
I Wrote A Song – Mae Muller
I had no expectations for the UK, mainly because I missed all of the teasing they did, so I’m completely fine with this...it just feels like a lot of songs this year sound similar to this? Maybe I’m going insane. But it’s nice to listen to. I wouldn’t turn the radio off if it came on.
17. GEORGIA
Echo – Iru
Imagine how much more this could have slapped if it was in Georgian. Just imagine. It’s fine like this too, and I’m sure it will be elevated by the staging, but...just imagine, honestly.
16. ROMANIA
D.G.T – Theodor Andrei
Okay, let’s ignore the performance for a bit, and just judge the song. I quite like it, actually. His voice is nice, it’s absolutely something different, and I always give a native language bonus.
15. MALTA
Dance (Our Own Party) – The Busker
The revamp did good things for this song. I like a good saxophone, and I feel like this is quite underrated in the community. It’s fun(ky), I think they will be great live, and the music video is definitely worth a watch while you’re at it.
14. SPAIN
Eaea – Blanca Paloma
I feel like I shouldn’t talk about this song without my lawyer. It’s growing on me, very slowly, but there’s still only select parts of the song that I really like, while the rest is just something I have to go through to reach them. Like the salad you get when you order a steak with fries. (I also just liked Agoney a lot more.)
13. PORTUGAL
Ai Coração – Mimicat
After a song I absolutely couldn’t stand last year, Portugal absolutely delivers again. Feels very authentic to Portugal, I really like her voice, it’s quite fast-paced, I really enjoy it.
12. SWEDEN
Tattoo – Loreen
It’s a song. I don’t know, I don’t care about it, it’s good, sure, but it’s absolutely not a winner for me. Also, the pre-chorus sounds so much like another song I know, but I cannot figure out which one and it’s driving me insane. (I have to admit though, rhyming pain and rain IS true lyrical genius, and whoever wrote that part should win an award.) I like the studio version more than the live version by the way. Yes, even with the performance. Don’t ask me why.
11. MOLDOVA
Soarele si Luna – Pasha Parfeni
I love that as long as we have Moldova, Eurovision will never be boring. This is genuinely nice, too, and fills the void Fulenn left in my heart last year perfectly.
10. FRANCE
Evidemment – La Zarra
C’est très...French. Obviously. Good French, but French nonetheless. Groovy, though. I can appreciate that it’s not really a chanson chanson.
9. UKRAINE
Heart Of Steel – TVORCHI
It’s completely fine. Quite good, even, but I just don’t think that it lives up to the songs Ukraine sent the past decade or so...which is understandable, not only because of their situation, but because the song sent by the winning country never really is. I still really appreciate it for it’s modern tone and the bass. (still preffered fiinka though sorry)
8. CROATIA
Mama ŠČ! - LET 3
This is my absolute guilty pleasure this year. I even rather like it musically, I quite enjoy it away from all the chaos. Of course, the chaos is the main reason I like it. What would Eurovision be without these songs, seriously? BRRRR, TRAKTOR.
7. ISRAEL
Unicorn – Noa Kirel
I know people don’t like this because it sounds like three songs mashed together, but I quite like it. Why? Probably because I listen to K-Pop, I’m used to the mashed-together-sound, and I quite like it. Apart from that I enjoy the song, of course, although I’m purposefully ignoring the lyrics.
6. SERBIA
Samo mi se spava – Luke Black
I listen to music like this quite a lot, so I obviously enjoy it...I’m just very afraid that it won’t really land at Eurovision, not with the juries and not with the televote. But I’ll be optimistic and delude myself into thinking that there’s no way it won’t at least make it out of the SF. (And I would absolutely believe it if it was in Semi 2 instead of Semi 1.)
5. NORWAY
Queen of Kings – Alessandra
She, Queen of the Hype! For good reason though, this is GREAT. Very Eurovision, very European in general, I love good party music.
4. CZECH REPUBLIC
My sister’s crown – Vesna
PLEASE PLEASE LET THEM BE GOOD LIVE. I can’t take another Austria 2022. This is SO good. I love it musically, I love the mix of languages, I might have a small crush on their rapper, please let them be good live. Please. I beg you. (I have a bad feeling, though. Especially the chorus just seems very hard to replicate life. I’ve seen the NF, I know.)
3. GERMANY
Blood & Glitter – Lord Of The Lost
I’m still so...in awe that we’re actually sending something good this year? Like, how did this happen? Who did we sacrifice for this? (Answer: Electric Callboy.) This kind of music just feels very German, even if they’re singing in English. My only critique is that I want him to growl more, but if their Eurovision stage is anything like their winners performance at the NF, I’m not worried.
2. AUSTRIA
Who The Hell Is Edgar? - Teya & Salena
No, seriously, who is Edgar? I only know Teya & Salena. This is such a bop – WITH a message, damn. Easily moved into my Top 5 immediately after it came out. Probably my most listened to song this last week. It’s REALLY addicting. What the hell, Österreich? Not both of us going through change right now, aww.
1. FINLAND
Cha Cha Cha – Käärijä
This song came out, I heard it once, and decided it’s my winner this year. Only Gladiator could have possibly challenged it, but we know how that went, so this is my undisputed first place. Please, juries and televote, do not rob our small king.

PUT YOUR ITUNES/SPOTIFY/YOUTUBE ON SHUFFLE. WHAT ARE THE FIRST 6 SONGS THAT POPPED UP?
1. Volver Volver - Vincente Fernandez 2. And the Waltz Goes On - André Rieu & Johann Strauss Orchestra 3. You’re Gonna Leave (Acoustic) - Stephen Marley 4. Hikari - Royal Scandal 5. Fleur Blanche - Örsten 6. Aprendiz - Alejandro Sanz
EVER HAD A POEM OR SONG WRITTEN ABOUT YOU: Only one time that I was able to read it but the second was sent directly to my house and uh ... yeah, someone else got a hold of it before I did so I never had the chance to read it  😅
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU PLAYED AIR GUITAR: Earlier today when I was on facetime with my dad. He plays guitar so it was more to practice my dexterity as I’m trying to learn how to play it whenever I visit him meanwhile working on the piano at home.
WHO IS YOUR CELEBRITY CRUSH?: Hmm ... I don’t really know? I think there are some good looking celeberties like Cristano Ronaldo, Michael B. Jordan, Chayanne (oh man back in the day he was the guy), Chris Hemsworth, good ol’ Henry Cavill, Zendaya and Angelique Boyer.
WHAT’S A SOUND YOU HATE; SOUND YOU LOVE?: Scrapping of utensils on a plate that makes this weird screech sound and anything close to nails on a chalkboard. As for what I love, it’s the loud clickity clack of a keyboard and best of all: a doggo’s nails clicking on wood floors!
DO YOU BELIEVE IN GHOSTS?:Eh ... so so, like I’m not a die hard believer but I also won’t walk into a creepy place where someone was murdered and poke to ask the spirits because I ain’t about to have an exorcist episode in my house, nope nope nope.
HOW ABOUT ALIENS: Hmm ... I’m not really sure. I’ll listen to a friend of mines talk about it but I don’t really have much of an opinion either way.
DO YOU DRIVE?: Absolutely! I enjoy it, especially when it’s some nice curvy roads!
IF SO HAVE YOU EVER CRASHED: Just a minor accident or two that wasn’t my fault, never anything major.
WHAT WAS THE LAST BOOK YOU READ?: I’m working through ‘The War of Two Queens’  when I’m home but I’m going to start ‘Fourth Wing’ this weekend as my travel book since I will be going out of town (again). So ... I guess both???
DO YOU LIKE THE SMELL OF GASOLINE: I definitely do! I mean, I’m not sniffing it like a maniac but I do enjoy it. Maybe it’s because my husband is a complete motorhead so we tend to do a lot of car activities and my uncle owned a mechanic shop that we used to visit a lot and my dad for a few years so I guess it’s a comforting thing for me.
WHAT WAS THE LAST MOVIE YOU SAW?: The Little Mermaid
WHAT’S THE WORST INJURY YOU’VE EVER HAD?: Oooof which one? Let’s see ... probably when I (foolishly) decided to chase after my husband in our previous home with socks on wood floors and right when I turned the corner, I slipped and not only did my back hit the bottom edge of the staircase but I also sprained my ankle and bruised my head. Aside of that, when I fell down the stairs after getting a leash tangled.
DO YOU HAVE ANY OBSESSIONS RIGHT NOW?: Breath of the Wild! So it’s a game I’ve had on backlog and played it on and off. Now that I have to travel a ton, it’s been the main game I’m playing and I’m hooked. It just took a while for me to get really into it but man is it a blast.

Okay so writing this I’m not fully here atm so forgive me if this is weird, but can I request some headcanons of any of the EH characters comforting you after losing your best friend if possible? Just lost mine so Im craving some comfort- 🤪💀
Oh god I’m so, so sorry to hear that. Of course dear, I’ll do my best with the ones I know. I’m sorry for your loss, love (not sure if you mean by death or by losing the friendship itself, but grieving is involved in both. People forget sometimes that grief comes in a lot of different ways). It’s never easy losing someone you love.
Al:
He’s not the best comfort, namely because he doesn’t fully grasp the concept of loss. Judging from his reaction when he killed Max, he’s obviously upset but still kind of just like “oh no! Anyway…”
But he tries. He certainly wouldn’t want to lose you/have you taken from him. I headcanon that he and Max did also have a rocky relationship with some bitterness attached there, so that’s also a factor in him seeming so cold about his death.
He doesn’t like seeing you upset unless it’s something he caused (and even then, only if it was intentional). So he won’t really know what to say to offer comfort, but would definitely be a physical comfort.
Just like, letting you lay with your head in his lap while he strokes your hair, wiping or kissing your tears and massaging your shoulders. Holding you to his chest, silent as he lets you sob and talk about it. Even if he has nothing to say, he’ll listen attentively.
He’s…he’s also selfish. We know this. So I’m sure he’d somehow manage to eventually turn it into something to benefit him, like encouraging you to cuddle and cockwarm him on the couch, or indulging himself by going down on you because “it’ll help you feel better.” He’s an ass. 🙄
Ernst Toller:
Ernst would be incredibly sympathetic to your pain. He knows what it is to lose someone you love, and he’s dealt with existential questions and self-doubt.
He would offer spiritual comfort if that would be something beneficial to you, but he’s not the type of person to force beliefs on you if you’re not religious.
Ernst would be there for you in whatever way he can be, whether that be to be a listening ear, to offer words of wisdom/advice/comfort, or to just gently hold you in his arms while you cry.
Just a major softie.
Paul (Valley of violence):
There’s not as much known about his character, but we know he’s loved and lost, and no longer feels worthy of love or affection.
We saw how hard he took it when he lost his best friend. He would understand your pain, and feel comfortable opening up to you about his own, as well as his past.
Basically a support group/therapy session wherein you’re both getting mutual support for the things you’ve endured. Maybe even just sharing fond memories of those you’ve lost, then sharing a drink and watching the sun setting.
Arthur:
Arthur is wise (not beyond his years tho, he’s old lmao). He may not be empathetic, but he is very discerning, and would know exactly what words to say to make you feel better.
It’s always hard to tell with Arthur when he’s being genuine or not. Sometimes, I think he’s so deeply rooted in his own facade of himself that even he doesn’t know when he’s being sincere. So he’ll coo at you and be loving and soft and sweet, but you will never truly know what he’s really feeling.
Arthur does of course care for you, but his way of caring may look different from other people. He knows what “care” looks like and will emulate it, holding and rocking you in his arms, brushing a hand through your hair, etc. But it’s hollow love.
However—you sometimes catch him showing his own way of caring, keeping a consistent eye on you everywhere you go, ensuring you’re eating enough/sleeping enough/etc.
He may not have much compassion toward the dead (he shot our baby in cold blood and admitted to Khonshu he enjoyed doling out his punishments), but he doesn’t like seeing you in pain, so he does what he can to offer comfort, both in fake and earnest ways.

MY EXPERIENCE IN THE ROLEPLAYING COMMUNITY | Accepting | @bymargrace
Tumblr media
🍪 my favorite roleplay memory
There was this lady I used to RP with when I was really young. I've always called her my RP mentor because of the lengths she went to guide me through handling a muse and how to gauge a character.
I roleplayed with her for years. From 14 to 21. She taught me so many things when it came to roleplay. I will always be indebted to her, and silently thanking her each and every day for broadening my horizons when it came to my imagination. She was so patient with me, protected me from creeps, and gave me lessons in grammar - I mean, she could only do so much as a non-english teacher, but I got the gist x"D
She is my favorite memory. I always think about her. Unfortunately, we lost contact somewhere along the way. But I pray she hasn't retired and scooped up another lost soul to take under her wing.
🎾 what type of genre of roleplay i prefer to write
VARIED. I like fluff. Anything that's cute. It's very Yuna. She is an adorable little flower who has a lot of wisdom to share for anyone willing to listen. How she enjoys sharing moments of silence and stillness with the people she holds dear to her. I love indulging in that and incorporating so many wonderful, precious moments for her to look back on. I see them as her strengths. She will recall them when she feels down.
I can seldom do angst. I mean, I WILL. But. It needs to be delivered right for me to find it fun. I enjoy spiraling out of depressing control and watching my muse feel hopeless, inferior, powerless, lost, close to death, but not ALL the time. It messes with me.
But I usually lean towards silly cracky shit. There's something fun about throwing someone as serious and naive as Yuna into something so stupid and non-serious.
She really likes to play and act silly considering, she never really had much of a childhood due to her being so close with Yevon and the temples. They saw her as a prodigy because her father's talents for summoning was passed down to her. They took that, groomed her to be their new sacrifice, and she took that willingly and ran with it. Because it was the right thing to do.
She needs laughter, joy, and fun.
HORROR. I am a horror FANATIC. The Fatal Frame series is held dearly in my heart. I love those games so much. They're definitely #2 on my Top 5 favorite games. Final Fantasy series being #1. I love being scared. LOVE IT. Give me ghosts, give me zombies, give me movie star serial killers, UGH. I would love to throw Yuna in survival-horror genres where she cannot rely on magic, but her wit.
BATTLES. These are fucking HARD to do. I love doing them, regardless. However. Writing this as a healer is probably the most STUPIDEST THING. You cannot write something that doesn't sound annoying, or weird, OR UGLY. "SHE HEALED HIS WOUNDS" just sounds so bland, fake even. Like a false priest healing the sick. but make it flowery? Try, and it just sounds ridiculous. AMIRITE?
I also enjoy some smut. I'm really REALLY trying to get the hang of it. It's incredibly hard, lord I tell you. I get so nervous writing this shit because SO MUCH goes into it. You literally have to write all five senses. Miss one, and it seems as though your muse has not been attentive enough and it makes me FEEL SO BAD. Like, I read the reply! I did! I am sorry I didn't have my muse react to that. I am stupid fhirwoafjdkf
📫 my favorite type of ships
Oh god. I love so many types. It depends on the muse I write.
I used to RP Blackfire in the Teen Titans 2003 rpc and she LOVED going for the innocent guys. Bad guys? Eh. She'd use them to get her rocks off then make their life a living hell because she wanted to. Betrayal, stealing, murdering them after she got what she wanted. Yup.
Innocent boys such as Wally West, for example, (a ship I had many years ago xD) she was FIXED on. She wanted to corrupt him and make him belong to her. She was very toxic, possessive, downright horrifyingly disgusting with her behavior. While she's trying to murder her own sister, she goes back to Wally and wraps herself around him, sinking her claws into him. She was a nasty piece of work.
Yuna? I feel like her ships are incredibly flexible because of how she is. Yuna is very likeable due to how she was raised - first by her selfless father, then an entire village of Besaid. She is patient, kind, and resilient. All she wants to do is good for everyone. Yes. That includes the man who wanted to manipulate her into giving her very life to make him become the next Sin: Seymour.
And because she has a knack for holding out her hand to everyone, I think that makes her very susceptible to form ships from all walks of life. Yuna has a pool of people she would gladly give her love to, unlike some of my other muses I wrote for previously, and I think that's wonderful. ;u;

So again, I, an American who knows nothing of the current European music scene, am listening to all the Eurovision songs online to see which I like. In the order they are on this playlist:
Ukraine: Sadly, this year... eh. Didn’t bother finishing listening to it. (Sounds like an American mid-tier hit that’s on the charts for a week.)
Estonia: Also eh. Not finishing listening, again. (Sounds like an American mid-tier hit that’s on the charts for a week.)
Italy: Good, it’s not in English. And he is hot. But besides it not being in English, it sounds like an American hit that’s on the charts for like 12 weeks and you can’t escape it. Which... is that an improvement? I dunno. But I’m bored, sadly.
Austria: Kind of weird, though in English again. I don’t like it, but at least it’s different?
UK: The beat’s very slightly interesting. The rest is not, and again, why does everything sound not just American, but mediocre American? I mean at least there’s good reason for this one to be in English, but otherwise... pass. When you write a song about being a woman angry she was cheated on, you should have some actual anger and oomph in it. “Before He Cheats,” this ain’t.
Latvia: It’s got some energy anyway. Even if it’s in flippin’ English again. However, that key change was laughably predictable.
Slovenia: Not in English, +10 points. I’m digging it, I could definitely dance to this. I looked up the translation of the lyrics, and I like them too. Slovenia is so far in the lead for me. This is going on my playlist.
Iceland: I was hoping Iceland would come in with not-English, but no such luck. Bored. Are love songs illegal or something, every woman has to be angry at a man who done her wrong at all times?
Croatia: Woah that’s a start! And not in English, +10 points. Also, this is weird. This is more like it. I’m not putting it on a playlist. Yet. I have a feeling it might grow on me.
Malta: Saxy, nice. In English, not so nice. Well I like the sax parts, but not any of the rest.
Romania: Not in English, +10 points. He looks different, but the song is not very interesting. Again. Bored.
Poland: In English. You’re hot and cold, high and you’re low? Seriously? I’m sure he’s up then he’s down too. Channeling Katy Perry in 2023 is certainly a choice.
Australia: No points removed for being in English. Also it’s a love song, good. Maybe men are allowed them? But yeah, I like this. I still like the Slovenia one better, but this one is also going on my playlist.
Serbia: He’s got that particularly whine-adjacent timbre I can’t stand in male pop stars. And that’s a lot of noise without sounding like artful noise. Not for me.
Czechia: Not entirely in English, +10 points. There’s a bit of a Slavic folk beat behind the electronica too. Yeah, I definitely like this. I very much like the lyrics too. It’s in the lead for me now.
Israel: Opening with the electronica equivalent of nails on a chalkboard was... uh... why did you do that? Moving along... nope. Bored. Shallow “empowerment” drivel.
Sweden: English. Too bad the music is boring, because I do like the lyrics.
France: Yeah, I knew France wouldn’t send something in English. The opening is very sweeping. I like the music, it’s got energy and interest. And it’s sort of “woman who’s been done wrong,” but the lyrics are more complicated and -- very very French. I approve.
Netherlands: NOPE. Nope nope nope nope nope. Sorry, but I heard the opening piano and went “uh-oh,” then heard the whiny pop boy sing the first line and nooooope.
Armenia: English. Bored.
Finland: Not in English, so that’s good. The techno sounds like a Chrono Trigger riff, from the “future” area. It goes very hard, but not very interesting. (Insert “like my ex” joke here if applicable.) This is a drinking song? It sounds more like a fighting song. With bonus JRPG midi.
Spain: In Spanish, thankfully. And this sounds quite cool, and actually Spanish. I looked up the lyrics translation -- it looks like a pop rock-ified traditional lullaby. I like it.
Georgia: Why is she yelling at me :(. Sometimes you can go a little too hard in the beginning, if you’re not heavy metal. This is a love song, though it doesn’t sound like one, so that’s good. But it’s in English and also very shouty.
Lithuania: In English, bad. Love song, good. But boring.
Switzerland: In English. Dull and preachy. Anti-war is good and all, but the song itself needs to be good too.
Azerbaijan: In English. Also hipster douche vibes.
Greece: In English. Apparently he wrote this when he was 14. It shows. This is what people mean when they criticize “white guy with guitar” songs.
Cyprus: Well here’s a guy singing about a broken heart. In English. Boringly.
Albania: Not in English. And it’s interesting. Though not to my personal taste.
Belgium: English. Pretty typical Eurodance song. There are worse things, but eh.
Germany: English. German metal, not gonna listen to it, but it is what it is.
Ireland: Before playing, “We Are One”? Is this a unification anthem? Sadly, no. It’s one of those nice message, banal delivery songs.
Moldova: Not English, and has musical inspiration that I assume is Moldovan. I’ve never heard an “I’m going to marry this woman” song that had this much oomph. I like it.
Norway: English. The music is okay but predictable. The lyrics are okay but also predictable. There’s a banality to it.
Denmark: Another heartbreak song. The beat is giving me a headache and this is a whiny pop boy.
Portugal: Starts with the “I Will Survive” piano riff. Not in English. A love anxiety song rather than a heartbroken song, so that’s welcome. I like the music too, it’s definitely Portuguese sounding.
San Marino: English. It has energy. And I do not like it at all, there’s something icky about it.
So, the songs I like are from Slovenia, Croatia, Australia, Czechia, France, Spain, Moldova, and Portugal. I don’t absolutely adore any of them though. Kind of a meh year, at least for me.

tbh this new event made me like xiao a lot more. i just remembered him as this super angsty "nobody understands me" type, but eh, he can be reasonable too, and his past explains why he would sacrifice himself without second thought whenever a problem arises lol
but oh my GOD lemme talk about itto for a minute. holy fuck, im so happy they included him in the new event. shinobu and him were kind of oddly placed, but man am i happy they were. itto is such a skrunkle but somehow his characterization leaned a bit on the annoying side? i mean, maybe he just seemed stupider than usual when hes surrounded by people wiser than himself, but idk. it was also a bit annoying having him be the laughing stock of the team for the whole time but i guess that's his purpose as a character overall lmao
though i do have to admit!! ive never laughed so hard at the jokes in a quest before lmao. (beware - small spoiler) the part where itto tries to open the door by knocking it down when the button was right next to him was comedy gold already, but when the whole team started CLAPPING? 😭 i was HOWLING man lemme tell ya
so yeah that quest was definitely the best one ive played. not only because it included itto - ah, well, he did play a big part in it lol, but overall the quest was really really interesting. especially the ending, hoo boy, i understand now why that final cutscene got people weeping. it was so cool. i wish we wouldve seen more of the other yakshas, but oh well. im satisfied that we got like actual designs for them and not just those silhouettes from the zhongli cutscene
talking about him, im also so happy that he was included 😭 ill never get enough of him
so ya thats my thoughts on that

but on its own, hayloft 2 has me listening to it on repeat rn so... mother mother just does not miss

How are we already due for another round of year-in-recap surveys? 2022 has seriously felt like one of the quickest years.
First things first, did you have a good year? To be completely honest, it felt like such a business-as-usual year. Not a lot of highs, but definitely no big lows either. I feel like it’s because I was fresh off a pretty big promotion at the start of 2022, so the rest of the year just panned out as an adjustment period and I was largely kept to prioritizing that. Badly put, my work ate up much of my life this year out of fear of fucking up.
How old did you turn this year? I turned 24.
Do you feel your age? I’d say I’m coming around, yeah. As much as I feel regretful that I put work first out of so many things, I’m still thankful for the blatant growth it gave me. I’ve become a lot more confident and comfortable in handling bigger responsibilities and dealing with people from all walks of life, which I was actually starting to worry about because at 23 I still had been a little anxious talking to people. That’s all out of the window now and I’m feeling pretty proud of that.
Did your appearance change in anyway? Definitely. I bleached and dyed my entire head twice this year and have started to experiment with a much more different fashion style, one that has had me wearing more oversized shirts and looser pants (gotta thank K-pop for that...)
In any case, these changes in appearance has also ended up being a massive confidence boost for me. I pose and smile more widely in photos now.
Post your favorite selfie. ...But one thing I’m not gonna do is share more of my face on here lol.
If you traveled, where did you go? Eh, not so much. Just out-of-town trips here and there; I went to Zambales twice earlier this year, then to Batangas a week ago. I’m pretty sure my dad booked an accommodation in Zambales this Christmas  – the first for the rest of my family this year, and the third for me haha.
Which fashion trends did you love? Which fashion trends did you hate? The Y2K thing that the Gen Zs are doing feels a bit too outlandish for me...not really a fan of the thin braids and space buns and sparkly everything. But on the other side of things I have taken a liking to streetwear. Big fan of oversized fits.
What was your favorite article of clothing this year? Post a pic if possible? These Korean-style trouser pants I got a few weeks ago - bought them in salmon and olive and they’ve been fitting really well on me. I also love the puff-sleeve, square neck dress I got which has been perfect for the beach.
What song sums up this year for you? everythingoes by RM. Still confused why that song never made an appearance on my Spotify Wrapped when I played that shit without fail at least every Sunday evening lol. Break My Soul by Beyoncé also served as an anthem.
What album came out and has been on heavy rotation since then? I had three favorite albums this year: Renaissance by Beyoncé, Jack in the Box by J-Hope, and Indigo by RM (the latter EASILY ranking first).
What was your favorite movie of the year? I did not watch any 2022 movies.
Did an actor/actress catch your attention for the first time this year? No, I don’t really keep up with the film space now.
Favorite new TV show? The most striking series I watched had been Our Beloved Summer, but I never got to finish it as I soon started getting busy and stressed with work lol.
Which new ship/fandom has taken over a lot of your time, attention, and tears? No new fandoms, I’m still securely locked in Bangtan world hahaha. I have gotten more into Seventeen, Le Sserafim, and NewJeans but I wouldn’t say I’ve settled in their respective fandoms; I’m a casual listener of the three at best.
What food did you try for the first time? Oh goodness, so many. I’ve tried Swiss food, local Batangueño dishes and delicacies, and have been to restaurants that I used to just fantasize dining at.
Did you make any big permanent changes this year? Wouldn’t say so. Did you develop a new obsession? Art galleries. I used to exclusively go to historical museums before this year.
Did you vote? ‘Course I did.
Did you move? Nope.
Did you get a job? No, I’ve been in the same company since 2020.
Did you get a pet? I lost and gained a pet. We got Agi this April, then we lost Kimi last June.
Do you regret not doing anything? Not volunteering at the National Museum when they opened up slots for it. Do you regret doing something? Hm, not really.
Have you done anything that scared you? Lots of things. “If you’re comfortable, you’re doing it wrong,” is a great phrase I picked up recently and has helped me want to try out new things, especially if they’re out of my comfort zone.
Did anyone/thing make you so mad it stayed with you for days? Eh, just work-related things and all the times I had to sacrifice parts of my personal life for commitments/deliverables that wouldn’t have mattered in a month’s time. I was never able to grieve properly over Kimi because his death happened in the midst of this stupid stupid stupid major event my client was poorly handling.
Did you lose anyone close to you? Kimi, June 10. Also the reason I will probably always have a bittersweet relationship with Proof, which was released the same day. I remember not having the strength to listen to For Youth and Yet to Come for months.
Did you fall in love? Nope, that’s not happening any time soon.
Did you fall out of love? I did not.
Did you start a new relationship? No.
Did you go through a break up? No, don’t really want to go through all that trouble ever again. Waste of time.
Did you have to cut ties to someone? Not explicitly, but I feel like this is slowly happening with a certain side of my relatives. That family has been through some messy shit and I can feel that they’ve distanced themselves from the rest of us.  Who was important to you this year but wasn’t important last year? I don’t think there’s such a person. My circle stayed the same for the most part.
Who wasn’t as important to you this year as they were last year? ^ Same.
What was the best moment of the year for you? What was the worst? Busan concert was seriously SO much fun and I do not regret going as big as I did with all the preps and food. I mean I had a feeling they were going to announce enlistment right after (what else was gonna come after??), so I did what I could to at least make mine and my friends’ last memory of the boys til 2025 an unforgettable one.
Worst was when I lost Kimi, and when my mom was dealing with her medical emergency at the start of the year.
What are you most proud of accomplishing? Lasting a year as a manager.
What have you learned about yourself this year that you didn’t know in the years prior? That I prefer going to new places on my own and thrive on digging out great conversations with strangers/new people along the way.
What do you wish for yourself for the coming year? More chances to explore the world and myself. I’m no longer wishing for big and grand things; I just wanna keep learning as I go.
