Terry and Duke: team "everyone thinks we're the normal one, they are wrong" they totally do movie marathons you cant tell me otherwise, their favorite thing to do is make bets abt the rest of the fam w cass. they never win against her. on any given day you can find them whispering about everyone else "duke, why the fuck were damian and tim staring each other down over breakfast" "hes mad dick said he can't poison him again" "what" "i know i thought they were over it by now"

Terry and Cass: cass sees him for the first time and sees that he rivals tim and dick in terms of being a mess and is determined to bond. terry hears about what she was trained for as a child and shrugs bc "i was supposed to be a second bruce, things change" cass will make him give her piggybacks when shes tired and terry has never dropped her

Terry and Stephanie: the most destructive duo. something happens to their braincells when they patrol together, buildings fall, bones break, civilians are crying, theres about ten minutes where everyone else thinks theyre both dead. they both are waiting at the cave for the others, terry is teching her how to make really shitty friendship bracelets (dana taught him, and stephanie is pretending she doesnt know how). they dont know why everyone else is so stressed "i texted you that we were fine, old man. steph and i just ran into black masks trafficing ring and took care of it-- why is dick crying?"

ALL of them have asked about the future before and the ONLY thing he ever reveals is out of context sayings and trends "yeah actually luigi and bowser have so much chemistry, well, i guess that movie isnt out yet huh" "???" (they think luigi and bowser are a cononical couple in the future and wonder where the world went so wrong) and (while interrogating smon) "watch out, you're not acting like the sigma you are, batman, try rizzing 'im up, then he'll talk."

him and bart meet (everyone tried to keep in from happening) and theyre from similar enough futures that when they talk, not a single person around them can follow it, they teach each other the different versions of different tik tok dances and terry goes back to the manor and teches them to steph, cass sees them do it once and has them memorized, duke thought it was funny, dick thought it was adorable (eventually they ALL know them, and it becomes an inside joke) tims prized possession is a video he got of damian doing the most dispassionate renegade the world has ever seen bc jon asked and he cant say no to him)

buckle up gamers, this is gonna be a long one. so i (22nb but i present fem) was out at the bars the other night just kinda hanging out, and a girl (26f) came up and started talking to me. she didnt really seem...super present i guess? and i talked to her to be nice and she had a cool outfit on. well i was a little drunk and ended up giving her my phone number and meeting her husband (39m) and they walked me home. the whole time she was talking about how she doesn't have any friends and her ex friends just wanted to get with her husband. she told me she was bi and i was like hey me too but im not interested in sex so that was cool. she ended up walking me home w her husband bc it was late which was nice, but they seemed really shocked i lived in such a nice apartment(i do, its expensive but my parents pay for it. im really privileged to be able to do that).

i saw her again today because she kept texting me about wanting to hang out, so i went for ice cream with her bc it was in a public place and i wasnt super comfortable going back to her apt with her. i paid for her ice cream bc she said her card wasnt working, nbd bc my parents have money and her and her husband aren't really well off. i said she could pay me back sometime, buy me ice cream or whatever another day, but she really fixated on it. she told me her husband thought i was cute which made me a little uncomfortable but i laughed it of, and then she kept talking about how she was bi and would date a girl and how she approached me not to date but to be a friend and then 'see where it goes.' she also told me she did porn online to make money which is fine w me, that she's on disability but that the money isnt really enough to live on, and that she'd been raped in the past and drugged which yanno a little overshare-y considering ive known her for three days but she really seemed like she needed someone to talk to and im good at listening. well her husband showed up out of nowhere bc he apparently tracks her phone and we all went back to their apartment bc i couldn't say no(im a doormat. i know) and she ended up giving me two pieces of jewelry in return for buying her ice cream which felt a little like overkill. i tried to refuse but she said she wouldn't ever wear them again so it would be fine. it was really kind of her but now i kind of feel i owe her back for them. the whole time i was there they seemed really eager to get me to move in nearby, and while its true that area is definitely cheaper my parents are really fine paying for my expensive apartment bc my tuition is a lot cheaper than my sibling's. she and her husband walked me home again, mentioning they might be going on a cruise in november if they could save up the money and that they could bring a friend. i said id almost definitely have school which they seemed to accept. they kind of seemed to want to see my place, but i told them it was really messy(it is) i have anxiety around having people in my space(i do) and that maybe they could come up another day and i could make dinner, and she told me she didn't like people cooking for her bc she'd been drugged in the past and that i could go over to their apartment again instead.

my parents think theres some really big red flags going on and i should try to break this off sooner rather than later. i pretty much agree. im not gonna ghost her and they dont think i should either, but that i should somehow return the jewelry in a kind way and tell her i cant really be super close friends. my mom had the idea to draw myself wearing the jewelry and then say i still have a memory of it but to return it bc i cant accept such a nice gift which i could try to do.

to be clear i am shit at communication and setting boundaries, im very aware of that, and most of this can be solved by telling her hey i can't accept this gift and im really busy for school a lot and im sorry i cant be as much as a friend as you need. but i still kinda feel like tah for leading her on almost and then breaking it off like everyone else in her life. ive been under a lot of stress bc of school and my stepgrandmother passing and trying to take care of my grandfather so trying to be friends with someone that seems kind of high maintenance is not really tenable for me.

anon you and i are some of the few in this fandom w impeccable taste.

putting this under the cut bc theres a loooot

they met bc cater was traveling through the garden kingdom for the first time and stopped at trey's bakery (it was still run by his parents at that point). trey had lived in the GK his whole life so was very interested in cater's travels and all the places he's been. cater invited trey to come over to wherever he was keeping his suitcase house at the time to see all the stuff that he's collected from his travels and they become friends. they start dating maybe after a year of knowing each other?

they broke up bc cater could never find the confidence to truly be vulnerable around trey, and he found it really hard to date someone and still try to mask his depression (along w his other issues). like, he desperately needed to be able to talk to trey and show him his true self, but was also terrified if he showed that to trey, trey wouldnt like what he saw. this was really caters issue he needed to overcome (he shoudlve either gotten therapy or not been dating) but trey wasnt innocent either. he 100% knew of caters issues but never really took the initiative to try and get cater to open up, not bc he didnt care, he just. felt like it was easier to not talk about it. he's fine w bottling up his own trauma so it didn't seem like it was that big of a problem (denial).

what cater really needed was someone who would show him that same vulnerability and really make him realize it's ok to show that side of yourself to someone you trust (and also not expect trey to read his mind). and trey needed a push to understand that a relationship is more than a friendship w kissing, it requires you to actually take an active role and put yourself in uncomfortable situations sometimes.

cater was letting all these feelings build up w no release, and so instead of talking to trey he felt it was better to just break up. trey really didnt put up any fight, just kind of shrugged and said "if that's what you want" (trey was also in the middle of taking over the bakery from his parents at this time so he was dealing w a lot more than usual) so that in caters mind was more than enough to feel confident in his decision. so yeah it was both their faults and they still majorly pine for each other.

also the BIGGEST victim in all of this is cay cay the carrot. he sprouted out of the ground while trey and cater were dating and cater jokingly named him cay cay and pretended he was like their kid. he is basically a child of divorce

nobody really knows the true details of their breakup and riddle and trey didnt really start reconnecting until afterwards. so riddle isnt really friends w cater, they are acquainted but riddle is under the impression cater just used trey for some fling so naturally he is pretty skeptical of him (cater is aware of this, he awkwardly tries to pretend everything is cool). but there would be some plot where they are forced to spend time together and their friendship really evolves bc i love love love cayrid friendship i have so many thoughts on them. cater never felt like he could talk to trey but riddle actually opens up to cater (whether willingly or in a moment of anger) and cater feels brave enough to talk about some of his own issues. riddle also tells cater he can call him by his first name (he usually goes by garden prince).

riddle learns more about what actually happened between them and offers a lot of insight (as best he can being a royal prince deprived of a childhood) to them separately. riddle's friendship w both is a major factor in them becoming friends again and actually feeling comfortable w each other (they are unaware he was playing both sides). eventually the whole HL gang is hanging out together often enough that it's like trey and cater are dating again. and then after a lot of honest conversation they agree to give it another try. (also this is all happening across multiple seasons while A+D still remain the overall focus of the show and the others slowly start getting their own branching plotlines)

their happy ending is cater making the decision to sell his suitcase and find an apartment in the garden kingdom (or close by). the final treycater scene would be trey helping cater move in. they have to go through like a hundred boxes of all the stuff cater has collected while he decides what to keep and what to throw out (he wants to keep all of it). he starts working with trey in his bakery and finally builds a life in which he is not always wandering.

Ok dude, hear me out. Steve’s dad is a very traditional man. Anything not masculine enough or traditional enough isn’t good enough. Steve’s not allowed to have hair grease so he has to hide it or his dad throws it away, and if he catches him leaving the house with it in he usually either makes him rinse it out or just beats the tar out of him (let’s face it, it’s the 60s, not just Johnny’s parents are gonna be abusive since it was super normalized in society to beat your kids. Johnny’s was probably more focused on since he was pony’s best friend and he didn’t really like Steve much nor did he talk about him much.) so he usually only leaves when he knows his dad isn’t gonna see him or just sneaks out of his window. He used to force Steve to keep his hair short but he just stopped cutting it after a while since he liked his hair long like the other greasers. His dad forces the family to go take family pictures usually, well it’s not much of a family since it’s just him and Steve but still. Whenever they do that Steve’s dad doesn’t let him put grease in his hair and has him put on the nicest clothes he has. both guys have one suit each, they're old but they work fine. He might be a bad dad but he still loves his kid so every time he makes him go to get a photos taken (which is usually whenever he had enough money saved up on the side to do it) he gives Steve a few bucks. Any thoughts?

i dont think steves father was rlly talked about a lot but what i do maybe remember is that he would kick steve out????and that he was an alcoholic??? idk i forgor, but point is i think him being this traditional man is a very interesting take on him!! i love when ppl try to characterize these mfs parents bc we know so little about them but we have an idea of the trauma theyve left on their kids, so maybe they acted out like that bc their parents also went through something and they never rlly got help for it considering its the 60s n all, its just this cycle of abuse, the abused becomes the abuser type of thing, even if its unknowingly

Wait, people think Carver is the best TWDG villain?? I always thought he was basic as hell, and the fact that he was beefing with an 11-years old girl... Now Stranger on the other hand was great, he was super intimidating and off-putting and I was genuinely so scared he would hurt Clementine. I also liked Minnie for the same reasons (she was so creepy/off-putting), but I still think Stranger is the best villain bc he had a great setup while Minnie was kind of a secondary villain. But going back to Lilly/Carver, I also definitely prefer Lilly over Carver even though neither are my favorite... And now I'm kind of curious how you would rank the rest of the TWDG villains? 🤔

the stranger is an effective villain. hes not exactly the typical villain type people expect. but hes very unsettling and him stalking clementine for who even knows how long through the walkie talkie is 🤢 he really makes me feel sick. she was using that talkie to deal with the loss of her parents, and this fucking creep took advantage of that so hard he was able to convince her to trust him. ugh he makes me feel so gross. and think of all the guilt clem must have about that situation. trusting this freak to help her find her parents, when if she had just stayed then lee wouldnt have gotten bit looking for her, and her parents were already dead the entire time anyway. oof. theres no way that isnt one of the biggest regrets of her life

carver is fine. i definitely think his character wouldve made more sense if they put kenny in that role instead. that way theres less "i am a grown man beefing with an 11 year old" and more "this is a child i helped look out for once, and im gonna make sure shes raised Right". but i agree that carver as he is is just over the top. overly villainous to the point of it being a little comical. like when villains are all tough like that my reaction is usually "god i WISH youd fucking kill me already so i dont have to hear your bullshit anymore do you know how GOOFY you sound??". if it was kenny in that role i definitely think they wouldve been able to tone it back a bit, and him "having a good side" wouldve been way more believable. as he is carver is kind of one note

joan.... definitely the weakest of the bunch. i dont really have much to say about her. david isnt even technically a villain but i definitely saw him as the better antagonist for the season. i mean hes definitely a villain in clems eyes. and is a constant semi-antagonist towards javi throughout the whole season. joans just kinda.. there.. doing things behind the scenes to cause conflict until the final confrontation. and then she can just disappear... okay

i like the way the antagonists work in S4. theres more of a discussion around what actually makes someone a villain and the difference between a person who fucked up and made (very horrible) mistakes, and a person who is straight up a threat. and i like that it connects back to the idea of lee and his murder of that senator. did he do something horrible? yes. did he destroy his relationship to his family? yes. does he regret what he did? i think so. and he definitely has guilt about his fucked up relationship with his wife. in S1 they mention how non-guilty people got sent to prison all the time. while lee is Definitely a murderer, we get to see over the season that hes a good guy who just wanted a family and in a moment of rage and betrayal did something he can never take back. this is why i never hated marlon. did he fuck up and do horrible things? of course. but he was a scared fucked up teen leading a group of other scared fucked up teens. he knows he fucked up, and continued fucking up to cover for his previous fuck ups lol. but he can be talked down. its a shame it ends the way it does, but i really like being able to teach aj the difference between people like marlon and people like lilly

lilly takes that kenny/carver idea and applies it to a clementine that has grown up and has been looking out for herself (and baby aj) for years now, instead of the 11 year old trying to figure shit out she was in S2. shes too old for lilly to be able to sway her in a way she couldve been more susceptible to in S2, and when lilly finally realizes this she just turns her attention to aj instead, seeing the potential in him (a potential clem does NOT want aj to live up to, wanting him to get to be a kid and not just a survivor, let alone a killer). lilly is fun because you can see in her that she WANTS clementine on her side, and throughout the season progressively realizes that its just never going to happen. both lilly AND clem come to the realization that this person they once considered family is beyond reason, their views too different, and so the fighting begins. their fight at the end of EP3 really feels like a "so its finally come to this" moment for both of them, their final fight. i always shoot her.

whats interesting about minnie is seeing her evolve from secondary antagonist in EP3 to straight up primary villain in EP4. the things shes done, the way shes been broken. she becomes her own downfall, seeing herself as someone beyond redemption. that this is just who she is now, its how things have to be. because if they didnt have to be this way? well then theres a lot more guilt she'd have to deal with. yelling at her in EP4 to just STOP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD YOU DONT HAVE TO DO THIS ANYMORE but she has been changed (in her eyes) so irreparably that she cant see any other option. and she progressively sees clem as the one who fucked everything up for her, instead of accepting that it could all finally be OVER. after killing sophie, the delta was all she had left. it cant have all been for nothing. and so she blames clem for taking it all away from her, even tho clem is just trying to protect her family. the family that used to be minnies. and so in her rage she gets bit. something else that she couldve avoided. but shes just too lost to her own downward spiral, unable to be reasoned with. by that point she just wants it all to be Over. and she wants to take tenn with her so she can finally pretend things can all go back to the way they used to be. her, sophie, tenn, and their parents all together again, where no more bad things have to happen to them. shes super tragic and i love her for that. and i love how she holds this dark mirror up to clem. clem struggles to let go of her past too, and the guilt she has over the things shes done and people shes hurt. and that if she cant learn to let go and move on she could get lost to it the same way minnie did. theres a reason clem is so quick to accept her fate, but shes finally able to leave that guilt holding her to her past behind in that barn. and she returns to ericson a much happier and lighter person, so much weight finally lifted from her shoulders. its finally over for her too

so yeah. my fave villains are definitely the S4 ones due to their nuance and layers. then the stranger, then carver, then joan. if i had to put david on this list he'd probably be above carver. but thats mainly because he has more nuance than carver ever did

"Stop asking impertinent questions, child," you mother reprimanded, rolling her eyes. "Your fiancé will be arriving in a moment and I'm sure you have eyes that function well enough to discern his identity when the moment arrives."

"If it's not Kiba, then I will refuse to marry him," you sulked, crossing your arms.

Your father simply cuffed you over the back of the head.

You huffed, turning away from them both.

"It better be Kiba," you mumbled. They ignored you.

You were sitting in one of the drawing rooms and the plan was for some of your servants to bring your new husband and his family in to meet you.

As the door creaked open, you stood up with your parents, heart jumping in your chest. Who was it?

All the stress melted out of you when you were greeted by a grinning Kiba and his mother.

"Kiba," you breathed, grinning back at him.

Kiba launched himself forward, adeptly dodging his mother's attempt to pull him back, and pressed his lips against yours. You flailed for a moment, but the feeling of his lips on yours was a familiar one, and quickly your hands settled on his waist and tugged him every closer. The wet heat of his lips had heat pooling in your stomach, and you forgot about your audience until Kiba was suddenly dragged away from you.

"What did I tell you about staying by my side, you brat!" Tsume had Kiba by the scruff of his neck.

You didn't hear Kiba's response because your own mother gripped your arm and pulled you back as well.

"If anyone finds you knotted before your wedding night, you will not enjoy the consequences," she whispered into your ear. You noted that she didn't try to forbid you from knotting Kiba, just knotting him where someone could find you.

Okay well now I can't stop thinking about Sirius and Remus raising Harry, knowing slightly homophobic James probably wouldn't have been super okay with it. Discuss.

Sirius and Remus come out to James after Hogwarts (could be accidentally, could be on purpose after the wedding). Afterwards the things between them are weird and awkward, James is clearly uncomfortable even if he tries to hide it for Sirius’s sake, R & S are both heartbroken, its a mess.

But.

He comes around. He must come around because he names Sirius the godfather of his first and only son.

That means that either James or Lily are religious enough to want to christen Harry (or they could also be peer pressured by some remaining religious relatives? but thats rather unlikely bc in less than a year the only one left is petunia. and they dont care about her opinion. so.). And if they are religious and its important to them then choosing Sirius means quite a lot actually (not that there is anyone else James would rather choose. So i imagine that was actually in part his motivation to come around - so that Sirius could be his son’s godfather). It means they trust him to be closest (after a relative) person to their newborn child.

Sirius knows it and since he desperately wanted to reconcile with James he accepts the olive branch. Of course it doesnt erase the hurt but he believes thats the first step for them to be alright again.

Now as we established becoming a godparent doesnt equal being a child’s guardian. So if we have R & S raising Harry it means James and Lily chose Sirius to be a godparent and a legal guardian (but only Sirius*) (or they… kidnapped… Harry? I guess? (I dont really see how they could get custody of Harry otherwise so im gonna ignore that one for now))

So. I think Sirius is doing relatively alright with the “what would james think” thought. He was trusted with Harry, emotionally and legally, after all.

Of course he has his doubts along the way. He isnt sure he will fulfill his role as a godparent like he should (maybe he is not as religious as J&L were, maybe he is not even christian, maybe his family was religious and he is still dealing with the consequences of how that went for him). He isnt sure if he is doing a good job as a legal guardian/surrogate parent (he is a traumatized 22 year old). But even if he wonders if maybe he wasn’t the best choice, he has reassurance in the thought that he was chosen by James.

Remus doesnt have that kind of reassurance. He is not the godfather, he is not the legal guardian* and he has a milion other reasons to believe himself less than and lacking. The internalized homophobia is strong with this one. He is terrified of being found out™ (by the neighbors, coworkers, Harry’s preschool teachers, the counter clerk). Maybe he insist they dont do groceries together (and it hurts them both). He doesnt have to insist on going separately to Harry’s doctor/healer/teacher appointments bc only sirius can go to them either way (and it hurts even more). He has even more doubts than Sirius about being Harry’s guardian bc he isnt even supposed to be there.

James was - apparently - fine with Sirius potentially taking care of Harry, but not with Remus. And if he wasnt okay with them being together, then surely he wouldn't approve both of them raising his child. (😈)

ive been thinking about an arranged marriage au with diluc, where both of you are kinda like, yeah it is what it is. yall dont like each other romantically, but its tolerable enough. it feels like a surface level friendship between the two of you, so thats something. until one day, everyone around you starts talking about when are you and diluc going to have a baby, because you know, thats kinda a pertinent part in this entire marriage. i mean, you guys didnt get married willy nilly because of some deep passionate love shared between you and diluc. you barely knew him when you had to marry him the moment you were of age. rather, because both your families thought that through your marriage, a child conceived out of it will surely further both family legacies. why else did they get you two together? both families are rich and influential, so you gotta respect family honor somehow.

tbh, both of you are really not on board with that idea. and so far, have managed to ignore the idea of it for the first few years together. but as you and diluc continue to live together as a married couple, it starts to get a little hard to push this aside. it seems to be your main duty as a couple and you feel the pressure burdening you. you can only ignore it for so long, until you see how your "husband" begins to look at you less with coldness but... with something deeper. with all this baby talk, diluc cant help himself but grow to almost like--no, open to the idea of it. especially with you...maybe it isnt too bad? if you were to become a parent, you'd make a good one, he thinks, because youre nice and caring...youre always eager to help others around you...you always seem happy too, with a pretty smile...and you smell nice...and you have soft skin...have you always looked this beautiful?

Yeah sunny(he/they) :D :D their full name is Sunny Sanchez Herazo, son of Martha Juliana Herazo who is a women’s pastor at the Illuminate church of Hatchetfield(A fundamentalist evangelical church, because I like giving all my ocs fundamentalist religious trauma :D). Sunny’s father supposedly died of suicide when sunny was 5, but that’s definitely not an important detail that heavily impacts sunny’s story :]

Sunny is transneutral, aegoromantic and greysexual. Their QPR partner was is(they’re alive they’re alive everything’s fine sunny everything will be ok) Jade (another one of my ocs that i have not fully fleshed out). anyways here are some random not important details about sunny :3

Sunny was exorcised when he was 7. His mom never found out about it bc young sunny. Never told her. They were afraid that the pastors would try to exorcise his mom too if she found out(what me projecting? …noooo para nada nunca)

Sunny’s mom is. Horrible. And also a hypocrite(i will not elaborate on this. yet) After the death of sunny’s father, Martha would constantly tell sunny that his father’s suicide was their fault. That his horrible sin(literally just existing. That was the sin. Yippeee) had driven sunny’s father to kill himself :D

actually martha is just a more fucked up version of Clay(Moral Orel). That’s. that’s best way i can describe her

Sunny doesn’t remember much about his childhood. They remember that at one point, their mother started to hook up with men from the church. Everytime martha brought a guy home, sunny was told to stay in his room and not come out until martha told him to do so.

sunny remembers the smell of rot that would hang(…my english isnt englishing) around his mother’s room after every visit, and they remember the odd meals that martha would prepare afterwards.

One time curiosity got the best of sunny and he went to investigate what exactly was the cause of the rotten smell. …the closet the closet so many bodies disfigured torn apart limbs missing they were cut off the corpses they were all staring at him unblinking dead they were dead oh my god they were dead there was nothing there. Everything was fine.

Also sunny has a connection with blinky. And at one point in many timelines he becomes blinky’s prophet. go from one false idol to another ig

Jade and their parents are members of the church of Starry children. In many timelines Sunny ends up becoming a member too.

sunny has a not so fun relationship with religion. They know that the sky is empty, that their god is merely a human creation. Yet the paranoia, the fear never truly went away. He feels like someone is watching him, everytime he thinks anything that would be seen as blasphemy he spirals, he prays out of reflex, out of habit, begging god to not punish them, because god knows everything you think, eveything you feel. He is always watching, always listening. That’s what sunny was taught. The lessons are ingrained in his brain, and that illogical fear will forever be a part of them.(wow i did not expect to project so much onto this silly oc)

"There's a Human In The Neighborhood!" (i apologize in advance) chapter 1

it isnt easy being a human in an all puppet town, especially when they’re all oh so curious about your anatomy!

If there was a word that could describe you the best, it was simple. You wanted to live in a simple neighborhood, date a simple person, and have a simple life. Which is why you were so willing to move when you saw an ad in the newspaper showing off a cute safe little neighborhood. You loved your parents but they were awful for your mental health, and after a small incident where you accidentally broke into someone’s house while drunk, you were desperate to leave. 

After many days of packing, and many days of promising your parents you would call them, you were revving up your car and driving to your new life. You brought one of your cats with you, your mom begging you as the poor kitty would be sooo sad without you. As you drove, you felt the food you ate that morning process in your stomach. You would have to check the bathroom out first things first. 

Once you arrived at the neighborhood you quickly found the new house you bought. It was pretty small, which made sense considering the price. The odd thing was how much it lacked color. Everything else in the neighborhood was bright and colorful, but yours was a pure white. You guessed you would have to paint it yourself. You hired some people help you carry stuff in, you would have a loonngg day unpacking everything. After everyone left, you quickly excused yourself to the bathroom. You didn’t get to see any pictures of the inside of the house, so you had to look around for the bathroom, and every other room. And then, you finally found it.

And there was no toilet.

It wasn’t that you mistook another room for the bathroom no, there was a small bathtub and a sink, but no toilet. 

Just then, you heard a knock at your door. You decided the anomaly could wait, maybe this was some weird town where everyone used a porta-potty. You quickly made your way to the front door, wondering who it could be. You hadn’t met anyone yet. As the door swung open, you were quite confused. You didn’t see anyone! Then, you heard a monotone voice. 

“I’m down here, silly.” you looked down and saw a very short, very odd looking stranger. He had yellow skin, no, is that skin? A perfect blue spiral pompadour, and no nose. He looked straight out of the muppets! “My, you’re an odd looking one. Tall, as well.” It was true, you were pretty tall compared to most, standing around 6’2. But how were you the odd looking one? “I’m Wally Darling, charmed I’m sure. What is your name, neighbor?” 

You tilted your head to the side and told him your name. Just as you were about to ask why you didn’t have a toilet, your sweet little kitty walked by and rubbed your leg. Wally went down and gave the cat many pets. “Say, Y/N. Would you like to have a walk around town?”

“Sure.” It was only a small walk, you were sure you could get back in time and figure out why there was a lack of toilet space. Wally showed you everything Home had to offer. Which wasn’t much, but that was fine for you. He showed you Howdy’s place and the post office, and even introduced you to your new neighbors! They were all very.. Lovely. But you could tell something was off. None of these guys were human, were they? But if they’re not human, then what were they? Then, you felt it drop to your bottom. Where the hell was the bathroom?! 

“This is Home, your other neighbor! I live in Home, Home is a very nice neighbor, aren’t you Home?” Wally asks the house. Home responded with a delighted creak.

“Wally, this is great and all, but I did have a question, well, a couple actually.” You said. Wally turned his head back to you, awaiting your questions he’d be oh so happy to answer. “Uhm, Wally, do you think you know why my house doesn’t have a toilet?” You asked. He kind of just. Stared at you. 

“What’s a toilet?” He asked. You were shocked.

“You know, the thing you poop in?” 

“Poop? Is that some human thing? You’re the first human neighbor we’ve ever had. Us puppets don’t know what “poop” is.” 

You were even more shocked. “What were your other questions?” He asked.

“Well, you kind of just answered them already.” You answered.

“Hey Y/N, seriously, what is poop?”

You groaned. You really didn’t want to explain what poop was to a grown man, no, grown puppet. “Well, when a person eats, anything that can’t be used as energy is converted into waste, and you have to poop it out. In the toilet.” you explained to him.

“Ohh, how do you poop it out?”

You explained to him how humans pooped. Even though he didn’t seem to know anything about human anatomy, he did at least know that what you were talking about grossed him out. “Ohh.. well, I’m not sure how to help you neighbor. No one here owns a toilet. Howdy might have some at his place, but it’s getting late. Do you want me to walk you to your house?”

You quietly agreed, but you didn’t really need to. Everything was pretty close together, with Wally’s house… erm.. Home being smack-dab in the center. 

For now, you decided to use a bucket. You’d be calling to have a proper toilet installed the next day. After that, you took a bath, made you and your cat some dinner, and called it a day. Unpacking could wait for tomorrow. You just hope the bucket wouldn’t stink up the place too bad. You would have to learn how to live in this weird puppet world.

i think hes a good cook. i like the thought of him teaching ceroba how to cook, too (she almost set the kitchen on fire, they yelled about it in fear, had a couple drinks, then almost set the kitchen on fire again and yelled abt it). he also is the one cooking for the rest of the feisty five more often than not (they others are mostly ok at cooking tho. ed's really good, but struggles sometimes bc his hands are too big to be able to properly use certain utensils and appliances. moray is also a pretty good cook and help ed out a lot. they make a great team. ace is alright, can definitely follow a recipe, and is really good abt finding ones the rest really like. mooch.. mooch wouldnt go hungry if she lived alone. but shes generally not allowed to cook. has a no-bake dessert everyone loves though, she makes it on holidays and special occasions and to bribe the others)

this isnt my hc but i dont remember who i first heard it from but i loooove the hc that star glows when hes flustered. i think when he first started crushing on ceroba and theyd have sleepovers, hed just start glowing at times and shed throw pillows at his face telling him to stop bc she couldnt sleep

on that note, consider the bunk bed in his room. him and orion definitely shared. and orion definitely dreaded ceroba sleeping over bc her and star would share a bed and stay up late joking around and playing and talking and whatnot and hed often have to get up and just leave to go sleep on the couch or with their parents. they got into arguments about this.

he runs warm. dont hold his hand unless you wanna get sweaty.

in the case of clover lives/dadlo, hes the last one to know that clover thinks of him as a father figure. everyone else knows, either through observation or clover accidentally calling him dad in front of them or them just admitting they think of him as their dad. star probably learns of this via ceroba or dina or one of the five or someone telling him "you know clover thinks of you as a father figure, right?" and he bluescreens about it

im not like. the biggest corn yaoi shipper ever, but i think its cute (and the name makes me laugh), and i think dalv confesses first. theyre in some fancy restaurant or something and star asks "so, what'd you call me here for?" and to that dalv responds by just blurting out that he thinks hes in love with him. and star immediately chokes on his food bad enough he needs medical attention.

so ceroba mentions in-game that living w the feisty five is a bit of a nightmare bc of the sleeping and the fact that everyone has some kinda problem that specifically makes it hard for her to fall asleep. i think star is actually pretty normal in terms of sleep. might snore lightly if hes in an uncomortable position, but overall just quiet. the rest of the five dont fare so well. ed's got it best, he just snores. loudly, but everyone other than ceroba is just kinda fine w it. moray grinds their teeth and needs to be restrained or theyll end up halfway across the room from where they fell asleep. or farther. ace sleepwalks and talks. ceroba once woke up to him eating the berries off the plant on the dresser by her bed. still asleep. mooch also grinds her teeth and "sleep steals", aka waits for everyone else to fall asleep so she can go through their stuff. star, despite being able to sleep through everything else, somehow has a 6th sense for her or something, because he very consistently wakes up to catch her red-handed and chew her out

Im using this chance to scream about my mortal kombat hot take that turned into a rlly long ramble (only loosely related bc its about two normal humans lol):

Everyone says Cassie and Jacqui shouldn't have been in MK11, since Cas has had the main character spotlight in MKX and Jacqui has the personality of cardboard, while Takeda/Jin are more interesting. HOWEVER I actually think they deserved to be in the game 500% more, but that Netherrealm completely fumbled them. Jacqui more than Cassie, like horribly so.

Both really need something 'unique' about them, and MK11 was that chance, but instead Jacqui is just. A plot device really. She only exists to support other character arcs and be a borderline macguffin for Jax to have motivation- her own damn tower ending is her dying to further someone else's life. MK11 should've given Jacqui something to define herself a bit more in the story! Some kind of plot!! Cassie's story is sorta interesting, but Sonya coming back kinda dulls the impact of Sonya, yknow, dying. Hanzo's death is more impactful since his character arc was just wiped, Sonya doesn't get that. The whole "you're my mom who just died but not yet because you're from the past and im really conflicted about this" angle was, as my dad who watched me play said, "really fucked up" (in a good way imo), but they really only confined that to one scene. If you're gonna go at that angle, put ur whole pussy into it babe!!!

Takeda/Jin have more than enough to separate themselves from their parents, so yeah Cassie and Jacqui really needed an extra game to grow. Unfortunately they didn't, they're just kinda static. So im delving into personal story ideas!

Cassie would've really benefitted from gifted kid syndrome- girl just killed a god and saved the world, mk11 shouldve rlly leaned into the idea that shes pulling herself apart to try and keep being the main character. Kid of Johnny and Sonya, god killer?? Make that shit keep her up at night. Make her take charge in every situation where the older characters aren't there, make her self sacrificial, make her want to be the hero not because she wants that fame again, but because earthrealm is notorious for crumbling without someone to protect it and she cant bear to have anyone else shoulder that weight. She did it once, she can take it again. Then make Sonya die doing exactly what Cassie's doing, sacrificing herself for the mission and for Earthrealm.

Then she comes back, younger and a little less hardened. I think it's infinitely better if we flip the whole "ur my mother" thing- make Sonya conflicted that this is her child who is writhing in agony over her mother's death and Sonya isn't sure what shes meant to do. Everything screams to go and comfort her- its her DAUGHTER for crying out loud, but how would Cassie react? Would it only make things worse? What the HELL did her future self do to make Cassie look at her with such mixed emotions? It's mentioned a few times that present Sonya valued work heavily over her family, and that it got worse and worse over time, so i think it should culminate in a scene where Sonya from the past tells Cassie that her future self was wrong- the mission isnt everything, and she has family she needs to look out for. I think it'd mirror the Johnny's well too, since old Johnny literally beat the shit out of younger Johnny because he refused to take his (future) family seriously.

Jacqui on the other hand? She just needs her own damn arc. Keep Jax becoming a bad guy, thats fine imo, but touch on the mother's death and Jacqui's feelings about it. Her damn MOTHER died and the story is completely "ohhh jax became a bAD GUY ABOUT THIS" and I don't even think Jacqui gets to like, I dont even think her death is mentioned around Jacqui at all. I think just adding a few scenes between present Jax and Jacqui would fix a lot. Have the two not talk since her death; Jacqui really wants to talk about it, acknowledge what happened and try and heal, while Jax is ignoring her attempts and distancing himself (depression) and simultaneously trying to protect Jacqui. Replace the Kronika and Jax scene with a scene of the two in a fight, Jax trying to tell Jacqui to leave the military and dodging any conversation about how badly theyre both hurting, while Jacqui is pissed that he's shutting himself off and is basically regressing her into a child as a way to cope. Jacqui leaves in a huff, and Jax alone going "please, i just want to protect my little girl", queue the clicking of the grandfather clock stopping the tears freezing midair. Dont even show us the conversation, just hard cut away- the fight tells us everything we need to know about why Jax is doing what hes doing. I think that ALONE would help with Jacqui a lot (we've acknowledged she has feelings about her mom's death and that she has a conflict with her dad going on now), but going further you might be able to replace the cassie/raiden scene with JACQUI instead. Have Jacqui be upset that Jax is so deep in grief that hes joined the bad guys, and that she cant even tell what type of person her father is anymore. Is he the father that pushed her on the swing when she squeeled 'higher!', who hugged her so gently with his metal arms, or is he the man he is now, joining with criminals and thieves and murderers in the name of her 'protection'? Is that who he's always been? Have Raiden tell her that it doesnt matter who her father is, but who SHE is. Is she the type of person who give up on her dad? Or will she look him in the eye and tell him "I love you despite everything" and fight to save him?

Jax and Jacqui should reconcile before the boat scene entirely so they can get a plot beat to just talk. Too much action for a pause in the boat scene. My timeline of events is iffy but maybe this can happen at the Tiara scene- iirc Cetrion LITERALLY threatens to kill Jacqui and Jax is STILL on Team Kronika after this. CMON. Have Jax switch sides and attack Cetrion when she tries killing Jacqui- Past Jax is a bit iffy to me as an addition to the scene, he doesnt rlly add anything. Have Jax snap out of everything at the realization that its not the military putting Jacqui in danger, its HIMSELF. Have him admit hes wrong, and the two finally get a moment to grief (even if briefly bc the world is dying again). Have Cetrion note this interaction too. Whens the last time her mother ever hugged her like that? When was the last time they grieved the loss of Father? Even MENTIONED Father? Is Kronika even her mother beyond just the name? Hot take but have Cetrion try and betray Kronika at the end of the plot because of this moment, and Kronika goes "lmao no" and absorbs her essence anyway.

VERY LONG ASK I KNOW BUT I NEED TO GET THIS IDEA OUT!!! It also adds a layer of theming around family and love, something thats vaguely there in MKX and MK11 but its like. Hidden and an afterthought. Jax protect Jacqui bc shes family. Cassie is grieving the death of a family member. The villian is the mother of two other villians and kills one and discards the other. Cassie and Jacqui deserve better thats my message im here all night folks

Yesss! The family themes need to hit hard! This is why I’m sad they rebooted when we could’ve had more familial growth, but maybe we’ll get it in the next few games 😭
