I don't even know where to start like. I have been in a state of shock all day because literally everything my friends and I speculated about is real. literally all of it. all of our wildest theories about aziraphale and crowley's first meeting were confirmed by the fans who saw the screening. I have never won this fucking hard and ive won AT GOOD OMENS OF ALL THINGS. 2022 me would be laughing. june 2023 me would be laughing. two days ago me would be LAUGHING. I genuinely think this may be one of the best seasons of tv ever guys

like. do you understand. how much this changes. how our understanding of crowley and aziraphale's dynamic throughout time has been totally flipped on its head. aziraphale approached crowley first. crowley was the one who sheltered aziraphale with his wing. so eden was aziraphale returning the favour. DO YOU UNDERSTAND. AZIRAPHALE FELL FIRST. HE DIDNT TAKE SIX THOUSAND YEARS TO CATCH UP. HE HASN'T BEEN CLUELESS THIS ENTIRE TIME. they've literally been connected this entire time, right from before sides or the concept of evil or hatred or enemies were even invented. of course they'd never buy into the whole "hereditary enemies" thing. AZIRAPHALE KNOWS HIM. HE KNOWS CROWLEY. HE'S ALWAYS KNOWN HIM.

and it doesn't even feel like a retcon. it doesn't feel like we need to ignore a bunch of stuff from season 1 to accept or enjoy the added content this season. it's literally just. more shit to help quantify the depth of their love for each other. their connection over countless millennia. I mean if you go back to the very first scene in season 1, aziraphale literally does a double take when crowley appears next to him. that's him realising who it is. he fucking recognised crowley and freaked out for a second. that's why he didn't hear what crowley said!!! he was processing!!!! AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON HOW MUCH MORE SHIT FROM SEASON 1 HURTS NOW. AZIRAPHALE PLEADING WITH CROWLEY BECAUSE HE WAS AN ANGEL, ONCE. CROWLEY WANTING TO TAKE AZIRAPHALE AND RUN AWAY TO LIVE IN A GALAXY THEY HELPED BUILD TOGETHER. the biblical minisode. well. I cannot think about that without having to pace around my house like a person going into labour. I literally stress cleaned my entire house earlier to distract myself from thinking about it. crowley has always always ALWAYS protected aziraphale. always. literally the only reason aziraphale has never killed anything is because crowley has protected him from ever having to do that. crowley's dedication to preserving aziraphale's goodness and allowing him to be his own definition of angelic/holy is the greatest act of service he could bestow upon him and it makes me SICK because him pushing aziraphale to kill adam in 1x06 after all that shows just how desperate he was. both of them realising and understanding at the exact same time that the only person in the universe who really understands them or knows what they're going through is the other, the only person they can rely upon is the other, its just. we've been so wrong. about aziraphale. about the extent to which he knows how important crowley is to him. he's always known. he's just been so afraid. him being prepared to fall to keep doing what he believes is right is so fucking heartbreaking and weve done him such a disservice all these years for calling him naive and mocking him for being slow on the uptake. HE'S ALWAYS KNOWN. HE JUST COULDN'T DO ANYTHING WITH THAT KNOWLEDGE. AND THAT'S SO MUCH WORSE

basically I have never been more scared in my entire life because if they packed this much into the first two episodes and it was deemed tame enough to show ahead of release then what the fuck is in the next four. what are we getting ourselves in for . it's really dawning on me the scope of what this experience is going to be and I simply dont think im going to survive it. again I never expected any of this. this was my definitive "high hopes low expectations" season of tv and it's now it's shaping up to be one the best things I've probably ever seen in my life and. it's cognitive dissonance in its crystallised form. how did we fucking get here.

prompt request: weve seen cindy interact with the prince, with the queen and even had a few scenes of her and brad talking, but besides the lobby scene and the narration scene of wedding planning we havent actually seen the king and cindy interact. id love a fic of these two talking and getting to know one another!

So it had been about a year and a half since the stepmother passed. And like, Cindy liked to think she was pretty settled in at the palace--hell, scratch that, she really worked out a flow of things. It's kind of one of those situations where like, you're comfortable, but it's also like, "This is great. I'm going to get a good grade in Princess Consort." But this was about the time when like, just when you're getting used to something, someone throws you a curveball.

Now, because they didn't have zoom or skype or tv or anything back then, sometimes it was necessary for a ruler to make a tour--partially to connect with local and foreign leaders to maintain control and diplomacy, and partially make themselves known to the public like "Hi, hello, you have a government." So anyway, that's how Cindy, found herself sitting sidesaddle on horseback in some craggy forested mountains, repeatedly feeling at the one hunting dagger the queen’s kinsmen had given her belted to her hip, hearing hounds bay in the distance, and feeling completely out of her depth even with her Emotional Support Travel Rat.

"You're sure we don't have to kill anything?" she glanced over at the king next to her.

"Mm?" the king was looking at a particularly impressive woodpecker through a pair of binoculars.

"I said, 'You're sure we don't have to kill anything?'" said Cindy.

“No, Highness,” Brad spoke up from his own destrier next to her and Cindy eased up a little, though Brad seemed as tensed as ever. There had been a very long, drawn-out argument over whether Brad would go along with the Queen and Prince or stay behind with the King and Cindy, each side insisting the other needed his protection more, until one of the Queen’s old kinsman swung an arm around the prince and loudly proclaimed he would look after the heir of his most beloved general. It was clear now that, given the quietness of Cindy and the King’s own situation, that Brad thought he really really should be on the hunt with the Queen and Prince, but there wasn’t much he could do about it now, since he didn’t know where the hunting party was.

The king lowered his binoculars to look at Cindy. "I used to think I had to--you know, 'Manly King' and all that, but it turns out the nobility around here mostly use these trips for day-drinking and letting the hounds run themselves out," he looked through his binoculars again, only to find that the woodpecker had flown off. He lowered the binoculars again, "And I've been assured the whole, 'quiet contemplation of nature while extolling the healthful benefits of mountain air' is quite fashionable these days. "

"It is beautiful out here," Cindy pivoted her horse slightly to look out at the mountain vista through the trees. The air had a damp, heavy feel, that was not altogether unpleasant when contrasted with the warmth one built up from riding, “It’s strange, when the Queen spoke of her homeland... she always made it sound like--I mean---that is to say---”

“...’flaming death pit?’” The king offers her a reassuring smile, “She undersells how much good she and her allies really did here. Though... in fairness it has been a while since we’ve all been back. Much of these woods really were burned when I first came here.” He made a sound that was half huff, half chuckle before he swung off his horse, pushing his hips out and to the side to relieve the stiffness of riding so long. “There I was, carriage bumping along with all these... blackened skeletons of trees all around me, and just when I’m thinking, ‘Hm. Well this is all very concerning.’ Bam. The majority of my guard slaughtered and then I’m clubbed over the head.”

Cindy’s lips thinned and her fingers tightened on her horse’s reins, and her Emotional Support Travel Rat balled up on her shoulder.

“Your Majesty...” Brad started.

“Right, not very appropriate, is it?” the King mused before glancing back at Cindy, “I’m sorry--That’s terribly grisly subject matter for such a lovely day out.”

“N-no, it’s...fine,” Cindy stammered, “You and Her Majesty always talk about it like it’s some... great adventure... I just... wish I could be as strong.”

The king stared at her for about half a second too long then before glancing down and saying, “...we’ve gotten very good at talking about it like it was some great adventure.” He ambled down the path a few paces, not looking at her. “The sad truth is... a lot of the time--more than we think-- we don’t have control over the things that change us. All that we can control is who we want to be in the face of that. I’d wager you probably know a thing or two about that.”

Cindy smiled a wan smile. “I hope so. It’s gotten better,” she gave a glance to the rat on her shoulder and let it sniff and nuzzle at her finger, “I think I’ve gotten a much better idea of what I want to do--it seems the hardest part is convincing people I know what I want and what I’m doing... maybe convincing myself, most of all.”

“Well... when you’re king...” he went on, “You’re afforded--forced, is more like it--a certain perspective on things. You’re constantly forced to think about things on.. on this grand scale, you can’t assume the basic reasonableness of individuals--you have to think in terms of, ‘What’s the stupidest conclusion a lot of people will jump to and immediately act on’ and mad questions like that. But when you’re observing people on that kind of scale, it almost becomes like observing a landscape--you see a lot of stupid things, certainly, but you never stop being amazed by people’s capacity for healing, for resilience,” he plucked up a small wood anemone and walked back to her, “For growth. And you learn to find that in yourself.” He held the small blossom up to her. Cindy took it, smiling, and tucked it behind one ear as her Emotional Support Travel Rat gave it a few curious sniffs.

There was the bellow of a loud horn and all three of them glanced up.

“There--see?” the King glanced at Brad, “I told you they had it handled.”

In the next quarter of the hour, the queen, her kinsmen, and the prince reunited with the king, Brad, and Cindy. The queen was spattered in no small amount of blood and was carrying the body of a massive boar on her shoulders. Behind her, also spattered in blood, and looking significantly more shaken, was the prince. The queen dumped the boar’s body on the forest floor with a satisfied, “Grah!” of an exhale. 

“Ah, the mighty huntress! I was just saying to Brad--” the king started before the queen suddenly took him up in her arms, dipped him, and kissed him long and hard enough that the entire hunting party awkwardly glanced off before she brought him upright.

 “Hah!” she made that satisfied exhale noise again and gave the king a hearty, audible slap on the ass. “I needed that!” 

“R-right...” the king stammered, adjusting his glasses. 

“Oh you should have seen your son, darling!” the queen practically whirled the king up off his feet in a spiraling dervish, “He was brilliant! We got five musket balls in the beast! Two on one side and three on the other and it kept charging towards us! But then Chazz started hollering and weaving and flailing his arms about and running around in the thickets--led it on the wildest goose chase you ever saw--gave me the perfect opportunity to climb up to the tree limbs above and plunge down onto it with a spear.” She glanced back at her kinsmen, “And that’s why you always bring spears!” She ruffled the prince’s hair, which didn’t seem to snap him out of his daze, “My clever boy!”

Cindy rushed to the prince in a heartbeat, taking him up in her arms, and he was deliriously and aimlessly spouting out the words, “Yes. Planned. Definitely planned that. All part of the plan.” Cindy kissed him on the cheek, smearing some blood on her own face in the process but apparently unaffected about it despite her previous nervousness. He blinked a few times and stared at her a couple seconds. “What happened--?” she kissed him on the jaw this time. “Am I not dead?”

“No, it would seem you did very well,” Cindy smiled, taking a kerchief out of one of her dress pockets and dabbing at his face slightly with it.

“Oh,” he said dumbly and then after a long beat he said, “I would very much like a bath.”

And so the hunting party strapped the felled boar to the back of the queen’s horse and departed from the woods for the lodge of the Queen’s kinsmen.

“Princess,” Brad spoke up from his horse.

“Mm?” Cindy glanced at him.

“You’ve got a little--” Brad gestured at his mouth and chin. 

“Oh!” Cindy wiped away boar’s blood from her face with her kerchief, “Thank you, Captain.”

A long pause passed between them. Brad glanced back at the prince, who was staring blankly into the middle distance from his horse before looking back at Cindy.

“The blood doesn’t frighten you?” Brad said at last.

“Not really,” Cindy shrugged, “My stepfamily couldn’t stand the butcher in our village, so they usually made me get any meat from him. His wife made some wonderful black pudding.” 

“It’s just, earlier you seemed very concerned about killing---”

“Oh, well I know where meat comes from. I just imagine hunting is very time-sensitive, and I would hate if everyone were hunting, and then suddenly it was up to me, but then at the worst possible moment I would--” she mimicked herself stiffening up in her saddle with a stunned look on her face, “And I would let everyone down. You know?” 

“I... think so...?” Brad said slowly. 

Cindy leaned a little closer to Brad in her saddle and lowered her voice slightly, “You don’t think it would be too presumptuous to ask to be in the kitchens when they’re prepping it, do you? I’ve been wanting to see how they season things here since we first arrived” she suddenly perked up, “Oh! Do you think they’ll let me use the sausage grinder?” 

“I’m sure we can ask, highness,” said Brad, somehow feeling just as worn out by this conversation as if he had actually been on the hunt.

Okay, she didnt know if that last part was true but from how tense and stressed Katherine looked, Shelby assumed!.. They walked to the door and took one last look at the love of their life, friend, enemy her and left.

That night was spent in the closest bar to Katherines house since she didnt want to go half way across town to the small apartment in Boatem.

"What are you doing this far across town."

They shot their eyes up to the person who slid into the booth across from them. Brown eyes and blonde hair; Jimmy. Why was he in this bar?

"..I wanted to talk to Kat, she didnt wanna hear it. Didnt want to walk all the way back to Boatem at 2 am."

A sip of the liquor in the glass and Shelby finally looked the taller in the eyes.

"I get that," A sip from his own glass, "Scott dragged Gem and I here."

"Gem's here?"

"She is."

Shelby looked for the hint of a lie, but knew better. Jimmy would never lie about Gem's location, not when he cared about her like he does.

"Shelby!"

Another voice, and an arm around her shoulder. Scott, and Gem sliding into the booth on the other side next to Jimmy.

Now, Shelby knew 3 things about themself and their feelings:

1. They're hopelessly in love with Katherine

2. They liked women, and honestly women only

3. Feelings are confusing

One thing he didnt know, however, was to stop staring at Gem who currently looked outright beautiful. Now, she is one to lie quite often, but if shes calling someone beautiful, it's because she means it; well, gods be damned does Shelby mean it.

Apparently, Gem hasn't noticed the staring to they quickly focused on their hands and the drink in it before downing the rest of the glass and calling for another.

See, for a long time, Shelby's known about their feelings for women and how its nothing how Ren felt for women, or men. She's always struggled with feelings, and for a long time coming to terms with being asexual was a lot; dont get the poor guy wrong, hes hopelessly in love with Katherine and knows it, but goddamn does Gem look great.

He focused back in on the conversation when his 2nd, 3rd, fourth drink arrived and took a slow sip out of the glass. Just now, had Shelby realized, Katherine was there and glaring daggers from the end of the table. They made eye contact and Shelby knew she was in trouble, apparently so did Scott with how fast he moved to let Katherine take his place next to the short villain friend.

"How many have you had."

"Uh-"

"She's had four."

"You were keeping track?!"

"I have to drive Scott and Gem home, of course I have. Weve been here for two hours, Shelby."

additionally just adding a preface i do not know all the information and have not fully read the paper however i do believe that these are firmly risks that people need to at least be aware of

Following a centre-right paper about the threats of transgender students, sunak has announced there will be changes in advice/safeguarding laws concerning gender/transgenderism in schools.

although we do not know what the update will be these are the suggestions from the paper which are likely to be highly consideredconsidering previous anti-trans sentiments:

1. any student questioning their gender to a teacher will be outed to their parents as a "safeguarding" measure

(this will remove safe spaces for students who cannot risk their family knowing thus increasing the suicide rates. they want us dead)

2. schools cannot let students socially transition in any way (name, pronouns, sports teams etc)

(again this removes safe spaces and any form of gender affirmation from those they meet the most, again suicide rates. this will likely also result in forcibly detransitioning many students such as myself)

3. schools must show all pshe/sex ed material to parents to ensure their approval

(likely forcing schools to remove lgbtq+ topics including risks such as AIDS or the mere existence of queerness)

4. schools must change their approach to stop encouraging "gender distressed" children

(they want to bury our existence even if it hurts people)

5. bathrooms, changing rooms and competitive sports must be single sex

(removing gender neutral facilities and also for some reason mixed gender teams pushing ideas of boys and girls needing to be separated)

6. LGBTQ topics are safeguarding issues (legally considered as hurting people)

(demonises queerness and removes awareness)

7. schools must be punished for not informing parents that a student has questioned their gender in any way

(means schools are forced to out students regardless of whether it actually benefitd them)

8. schools cannot mention gender critical beliefs or ideas of sex being different to gender

(trying to hide our existence to snuff us out despite going against science and medicine)

overall? THE GOVERNMENT WANT US GONE.

weve seen whats happening in america and as with many things its been likely to happen here for a while now. until the start of the summer term were waiting for the other shoe to drop as to how bad this may be but it doesnt look good.

This will endanger many students either due to the outing or not being able to voice trans issues/ be accepted by those who previously would have- i myself am preparing for a long and diffcult conversation with various teachers that have constantly supported me

Also be aware that whatever happens may set a precedent for the future. even if youre not trans if youre in any way queer this might effect you from holding back education on queer relationships to potentially finding a similar rule set for sexuality.

if you can talk to teachers NOW about your name/pronouns before the official changes are made and they can claim having never known. play it safe. do not put yourself at risk

additionally, you are valid no matter how you are percieved, how you present or how you must act to ensure your safety.

The zelda lore theorists are in shambles and im here to correct their shortcomings, in this essay of a tumblr post i will attempt my best to correct some large problems i have seen within zelda lore as of late.

“Where did all the shekiah tech go from botw?” It went back underground as we clearly see most of it rise from the ground in botw, and for the guardians they were used for the new towers, as for the divine beasts they were most likely buried once more, weve seen that they were originally buried prior to the age of the botw champions (the time 100 years prior to botw) so they were most likely just reburied for convenience.

“But there were too many guardians for how few new towers there are?” are you expecting hyrule to understand this massively advanced tech on their first try? Hell even some of the quests for the new towers involve them being buggy, meaning they still havent perfected their understanding of ancient shekiah tech

“Why is hyrule been founded again? Did nintendo reset the timeline?” No you idiot, hyrule has been founded again multiple times before now, we just havent seen it actually happen in game or in cutscenes, why do you think zelda games have wildly differing landscapes?

As for the zonai being introduced, they were probably there the entire time. Think about how in the start of totk zelda says that the murals say that her ancestors partnered with gods to create the kingdom of hyrule, this makes me think that the three golden goddesses from earlier zelda lore were probably zonai.

So, in botw and totk, the three dragons that we technically dont know the identities of are named naydra, dinrall, and farosh. The three golden goddesses are named nayru, din, and farore. If we consider that they were most likely zonai they most likely had access to secret stones, of which allowed them to be viewed as gods and eventually become the three immortal dragons we farm for parts in botw and totk.

Now, for the differences between malice and gloom as well as calamity ganon and ganondorf, this is a smaller misconception that ive seen that i still wish to correct anyway. Gloom is not malice but malice is gloom, if that makes sense. Basically gloom was first created by ganondorf when he acquired the secret stone, however gloom became malice after ganondorf was sealed away and he developed so much hatred that it leaked out in the form of malice and calamity ganon, attempting to destroy hyrule castle as on a stone tablet we can find in game, it is stated that the castle was made so that ganondorf would not be disturbed while sealed. However after the great calamity from botw the castle was left in shambles and ganondorf’s seal was disturbed heavily, but not enough for him to escape, however after calamity ganon is destroyed and all the malice disappeared, time passed where the castle was just kinda left to rot, its not known exactly how long has passed between botw and totk, but seemingly enough for the seal on ganondorf to effectively become useless and allow him to start spreading his gloom more. Basically, gloom is directly and intentionally made by ganondorf, but malice is just because he was literally too angry to die.

If i find any other problems with current zelda lore i will add onto this post, but for now this is all my adhd riddled brain has to say.

today is the day im moving to a new school, a new fresh start for a junior.

as i walked into the new school, i went to the counter and asked for my schedule before going to my first class of the day "chemistry". perfect. walking to the class to is already a long way, before even getting there my legs were tired asf.

when i entered the class, i was greeted by the teacher: "welcome in ms.y/l/n", he said before asking me to go up to the front of the class. "students, this is our new student, y/n." "would you like to introduce yourself?" he asked. i nodded and took his spot, "hi, im y/n. hope to have a good time here." i said before looking back at the teacher. "okay, ermm.. you can sit there, beside park gunwook," park gunwook? that name sound familiar..

"gunwook, raise your hand please", the teacher asked as one boy raised his hand. park gunwook, the guy i liked in middle school., that make sense. i went to my seat as gunwook looked at me. "y/n?" "you still wear that bracelet i gave you.." he smiled. "wow i never thought we would see each other again" i replied.

as the class went on, me and gunwook catched up a lot on our lives. "i guess some things just never change" he said and i laughed. "a lot of things haven't changed gunwook"

I didn’t write this, I’m posting on behalf of a dear friend. If you have questions, direct them to myself or @biotrophs. Content warning for mentions of suicidal ideation.

this is, for lack of a better term, a warning post for max @/gameoftheyorha (previously known as @/emgality, @/flingzaroller, and @/loverspond).  i dont think max is evil or abusive etc, this isnt a callout and wont have receipts.  if this situation had happened irl then their friends would know, and i think they deserve the same courtesy online to judge whether they want to be friends with this person.

max was in my close friend circle & dated another close friend in that group for 4 years.  during this time, they were pretty extensively disrespectful to all of us, would repeatedly vent or threaten suicide, and say everyone they knew hated them.  this was in a server of 8 where each person had a diary channel, and they talked in the server almost exclusively to vent in theirs.  they would also break into others conversations or vents to traumadump and leave.  they hated another person in the server for saying a message of max's was harmful, and max was hostile to them and posted vagues about them on tumblr.

it took us 4 years to reach a breaking point with this because we were worried that it would push them to suicide to try and talk to them, so we just lived with it.  the day after we talked to them they cut us off entirely.

they were roommates with their partner (parker @/hevcrap), and max was harmfully codependent on him.  they refused to make friends in their own circle and only wanted to hang out w their partner and sometimes his friends.  this got so bad that their partners friends realized and were taking him out for sometimes days at a time to try and keep him away from max.  at one point max made a tumblr vent post that their partner asked about, to which max said they had a suicide note written and were planning to commit.  this is a pretty rough thing to put a partner through without ever reaching out to try and talk to him, and they also did this around 5 years ago to their girlfriend at the time, meaning this behavior has persisted in their relationships for half a decade

i dont think any of this behavior is problematic or calloutworthy, but it has been a pattern for the 4-5 years weve known them, and its left our friend circle with lasting damage.  irl, you would hear this stuff about a person you had mutual friends with before you got close with them, but max can totally hide their past behavior on tumblr by abandoning friend groups that they hurt like this, and they constantly portray themself as a victim of all their past friends and someone who has done no wrong to them, so this isnt necessarily something you would realize.  this is my reason for airing personal drama i wouldnt post otherwise, as i have no other way to talk to their friends and warn them about these behavior patterns.  i truly dont believe max meant to hurt us with any of this, and i dont wish them any harm or hate, but i do think their friends and future partners deserve to know about this so that they can judge for themselves whether this post still holds true or if max's behavior has changed, and whether they want to be close to this person

anyone else think neo’s reports are weird about composers i think theyre weird about composers. lets make sense of joshuas status as composer and hazuki as comparison

this is gonna be a bit long. so anyway the og reports are p straightforward about what Composers (specifically, joshua) can and cannot do:

- Joshua can only pick up Hanekoma’s vibe, because Angel vibes are too high frequency for him to pick up

- Inter-planar contact (so, communication between the UG and the Higher Plane in this case) is difficult, which is brought up because

- The Composer, Joshua, only resides in the UG.

- But the Producer, who is an Angel, mainly resides in the Higher Plane, and only occasionally lingers in the UG.

The whole matter of jumping between worlds highlights the difference between their abilities even more:

- As Composer, Joshua is one of the beings who can jump between worlds, but isn’t meant to do so often. His vibe dipped too low, so Hanekoma had to come retrieve him, because as an Angel this sort of travel is simple for him.

the OG reports make it pretty clear Joshua isnt an Angel

*But. unfortunately its not that easy. because by clearing the final time trial joshua gives you an item called Angel Feather (天使のハネ in JP), of which the description says “Our buyer used divine means to acquire this mysterious feather that was once in the possession of Shibuya's Composer.“ (which some have interpreted as, “in the possession of” meaning “it was given to him” potentially by hanekoma, who actually IS an Angel)

and if things are vague, we turn to the JP to clear us up! but its. still vague there bc it says “バイヤーが特別な力で入手した渋谷エリアのコンポーザーが持っていた謎の羽根“ (The mysterious feather that was held/carried by the Composer of the Shibuya area that the buyer obtained with a special power)

so. we are none the wiser about whose feather this is. i imagine its up to interpretation whether its joshuas feather or hanekomas, who then gave it to joshua. but given how clearly the reports differentiate between the Composer and Angels in regards to their abilities, suffice to say theres two interpretations that are most likely

- Composers arent Angels, their power disparity is just too much

- Composers are Angels, but theyre so much weaker compared to the Angels who reside in the Higher Plane that they’re never referred to as Angels, just as Composers

which takes us to neo, and hazukis little lightshow

i think its notable that the reports dont comment on kubos so-called “exorcism”, and only on haz erasing his noise.

haz himself refers to his little stunt as “exorcising” kubo, while in JP he actually says haiki 廃棄, get rid of, revoke, invalidate.

i think its important that he clarified “i didnt erase him, i exorcised him”. because with kubo, the executor, being an Angel from the Higher Plane, a Composer shouldnt be able to erase someone of higher ranking than them. i think as the person who called upon kubo in the first place, haz could specifically revoke his services and send him back to the Higher Plane.

which means kubo wasnt erased, he was just sent back. hes still kickin

we could leave things right here as they are. Canonically, Composers are so far beneath Angels to a point where even if they were Angels themselves, they are so much weaker than them that they could hardly be referred to as such

this is where the facts end. but im gonna keep going and have fun speculating about things and include some i dont have physical proof of (yet)

its notable that in JP, hazuki says that kubo tried to purify shibuya probably because he wanted to be praised by Hazuki. which is weird if kubos supposed to be higher ranking than haz. (in EN, haz just says hes always been an overachiever) but lets put a pin in that for later 📌

which takes us to the matter of Shinjuku’s Producer. or their lack thereof

throughout all of neo’s reports, there is not a single mention of Shinjuku having a Producer. before neo, we kind of assumed every UG’s setup follows largely the same structure. a Composer, a Conductor, a Producer, and then some Reapers. but Shinjuku does not seem to have a Producer. and i think its because it doesnt need one.

its important to remember Who is writing these reports and Who theyre for. the reports are written by shibuyas Producer, and theyre written for the Higher Plane. and shibuyas Composer cant pick up the vibes of any Angel except hanekoma, so he cant be the one writing the reports for beings he cant even pick up the vibes from, especially since he only resides in the UG.

and yet, hanekoma comments that Hazuki should have filed a report, and that haz is disinterested in the lower planes.

in English its a little vague about who hes talking about, but the JP specifies Shinjukus Composer as the subject of this sentence.

throughout both reports, the UG and RG are considered part of the lower planes. its strange for a Composer to have no interest in the very planes they govern, plus for a Composer to file a report to the Higher Plane when its been established that Joshua, as a Composer, cant even perceive anyone from there.

so i think Hazuki may actually be a proper Angel from the Higher Plane, who was potentially demoted to become Shinjukus Composer.

though you can very much interpret haz “exorcising” kubo as simply “sending him back whence he came”, its of course pretty anticlimactic to see this massive laser beam essentially disintegrate kubo on a molecular level, only for it to have been a quick ride back to the higher plane with kubo being perfectly in tact after. if haz were actually much more powerful than an ordinary Composer, itd make sense why he would have been able to erase an Angel like kubo so. thoroughly.

this would also explain why kubo may have wanted to be praised by hazuki in the JP dialogue. with hazuki potentially being an outlier for Composers and being far Higher ranking than kubo, our executor may have wanted to sucker up a bit. maybe get promoted and away from his “basically a janitor” job if haz puts in a good word for him upstairs

theres also hazukis entire demeanor, and how Bad he is at acting like a normal person

we know of four paths that Players can take

they can choose erasure

they can choose resurrection to return to the RG

they can become Reapers

they can become Angels

and Reapers can eventually become Angels, though its yet unclear if the only way for that to happen is

for them to become Composer (potentially the Lowest Angel-rank there is) and thats it.

or if Composers can ascend and become Actual Angels and eventually reside in the Higher Plane, though how a successor for the seat of Composer is chosen in that scenario is yet entirely unknown since Usually the seat only becomes vacant when the previous Composer is defeated

or if they, as a Reaper, need to Ask the Composer who then asks the Producer to send a guy for evaluation or something

or if the Higher Plane has like, a talent scout guy somewhere.

potentially more than one may apply but at least the last point is the most likely, because

Conductors are invited to the Higher Plane (probably to become Angels) upon purification

(interesting to note that Composers are not mentioned as being invited, which would point to “theyre Angels, but like, weak-ass Angels”)

anyway, the point is that so far weve been told that Angels were Players or Reapers at one point. we know Joshua was a Player for sure, given the morsels of backstory we get from him and Hanekoma. but we dont know if All Angels came from the RG at one point, or if Angels that have always been Angels exist.

either way, the point is that for Hazuki to act so non-human like and to be disinterested in the UG and RG, he either must have been an Angel for a very long time, or he was never human to begin with.

this is relevant to how he interacts with joshua in the Secret Ending, though its a lot less obvious in English, in JP their dynamic is clear: Joshua is his senior, and as his junior, Hazuki looks to him as an example.

for one, thats hilarious. secondly, that recontextualizes like everything

��course, you could keep the interpretation that theyre just Both weak-ass angels and hazuki just made kubo use a flashy dramatic elevator to the HP and nothing groundbreakingly powerful happened, but thats kinda anticlimactic

so. staying w the idea that hazuki may be a demoted Angel from the Higher Plane, then itd make sense for Joshua to have been Composer for longer than him, and for haz to act Like...That, since he couldve been not-human for a Very long time, or Never was one in the first place, but is still a younger Composer bc he got demoted like. 4 years back or something.

it also explains why Shinjuku may not need a Producer, and why Hazuki is the one writing his reports. its because hes still an Angel from the Higher Plane, so he does not need an intermediary to contact other Angels.

so to summarize what im tryna say here

Hazuki may have initially been a regular Angel from the Higher Plane, before he eventually got demoted to become Shinjukus Composer, despite how disinterested he is in the UG and RG. (he is considered to be “infamously unsympathetic”, a trait which is reinforced in the JP version to be something he is known for amongst the Higher Plane, which could potentially be the reason for his demotion)

Since hes Joshuas junior, that means he hasnt been Composer for as long as Joshua has, so Hazuki looks to him to know what youre even supposed to do/how to act/etcetera as Composer. With his Special circumstances, he does not need a Producer as an intermediary to interact with the Higher Plane, because hes already an Angel so he can do it himself.

whatever Angel Hierarchy there may be, Hazuki is at the very least a higher rank than an Executor, considering how kubo wanted to impress him, and how haz effortlessly got rid of him. with kubo being from the Higher Plane, joshua is decidedly lower ranking than kubo, and cant even pick up his vibe. which clearly positions haz into a unique circumstance as a Composer bc of this discrepancy in ranking and power. amen

theres other things that back this up but i unfortunately do not have a source for them, so This section, take with a grain of salt.

Supposedly, in neo’s data files:

Joshua is referred to as an Advanced Angel

Kubo as a Junior Angel, and

Hazuki as a Senior Angel

i only heard this secondhand and have no way of corroborating this myself, but if this is true then that lines up with the super long super sexy little essay i just wrote up there

this “ranking” solidifes Kubos position as Hazukis underling. which, if he were an ordinary Composer, wouldnt even be possible.

Joshua is notably a different rank from Haz, though its difficult to figure out if “Advanced” is supposed to be Lower than junior, or Higher than senior. thats up to interpretation until its possibly ever acknowledged,

but my interpretation is that an Advanced Angel is lower than a Junior Angel. i think “advanced” in this case is meant to refer to the traditional evolution of players to reapers to the composer, advancing from one status to the next.

**Little post-edit, @/inkerii gave me the actual designation in the files! (so this ones backed-up!)

so in the files, theyre designated ranks are as follows

Joshua: 男、天使上級 ※前作  (Male, Senior/Advanced Grade Angel ※from the Previous work)

Hazuki: 男、天使上級 (Male, Senior/Advanced Grade Angel)

Kubo:   男、天使下級 (Male, Junior/Lower Grade Angel)

so haz and joshua are the same rank bc theyre both Composers! since thats an internal data text kinda thing it might not have any bearing on like, potential Technical exceptions since they Are both the same “job”, but mightve gotten it under different circumstances.

as for kubo potentially being lower ranking than even a Composer, i think unless we find out what a Producers ranking is, we cant say much abt whether an Executors lower or higher. i kinda mean it in the sense of,  Producers are a Composers subordinate bc they follow their orders and have to create the things theyre tasked to make by the Composer (pins, etc), but may still be “higher” in ranking because they reside in the Higher Plane/jump between parallel worlds, while a Composer cannot. an Executor may be in a similar position where theyre a Composers underling, tasked by Composers to purify things, but may actually be “higher” in ranking because they reside in the higher plane, etc!

i think regardless of whether kubo turns out to be lower ranking than joshua or not, hazuki could still be Even More Higher in a way where he actually has like, sway over whether he could get a promotion! if that was his intent. he could also just be a huge suck up. a real kiss ass. teachers pet for angels

theres also the ntwewy Official Guidebook, which has a small comment beneath hazuki that says

and i additionally remember an interview, though i dont have a source for this claim and i could very much be misremembering, but i recall seeing the reason for hazuki not being the final boss is because they did not think players could suspend their disbelief far enough to accept that the twisters would be able to defeat a being from the Higher Plane.

which is perfectly reasonable, but

Composers are meant to be able to be defeated by Players or Reapers. if hazuki really was so powerful that itd be impossible for them to defeat him, then hed be far too strong to be an ordinary Composer, since thats. how you take over in the first place. thats kinda the whole plot of og twewy.

anyway that concludes my case
