What do you think Temu's role is in next week's episode? Apart from the funeral, (though I have fucking idea why he's carrying the coffin and not anyone else from A shift)

Yeah, the choice of him carrying that coffin is just weird. The 118 isn't just made up of Hen, Eddie (will be back soon), Chimney, Buck and Ravi. There are plenty of other firefighters at the station. We see them all the time in the background. It would make more sense that one of them would carry that coffin. He was their captain too.

But for plot reasons I suppose they decided to use Tommy. 🙄

I do think Tommy is there for a reason. We've seen in 15 that Buck and Tommy are back on good terms, but we also know that a relationship between them would never work. One, because Tommy knows that Buck isn't as interested in him as he would like him to be, mainly because he heavily suspects that Buck is in love with Eddie.

And two? Well, he is right. Buck is in love with Eddie. He just doesn't want to see it or even acknowledge it. 🤷‍♀️

But how could they fit that in the episode?

Well, I keep coming back to all the parallels between 7x03, 7x04, 8x15 and possibly 8x16:

I've been thinking about Tommy's arc. It started with him flying his helicopter to save Bathena (7x03). The next episode (7x4) he tried to woo Eddie, but ended up kissing Buck.

Now he, once again, flew his helicopter to help save Chimney and the others in 15. He showed up because Buck called him.

We also know that Eddie will be back in 16. I've speculated before that I think there'll be a convo between Tommy and Eddie. I really think this I'll happen as a parallel to 7x04, where Tommy and Eddie were shown to be friends. We do know that Eddie stopped talking to Tommy when BT broke up, so it might be a bit of an awkward conversation where both feel out of their depth.

Additionally I potentially see Tommy give Eddie some kind of hint as to not wait to long to go after what he wants or something generic like that. Which will undoubtedly puzzle Eddie and might be something that he can't get out of his head in the two last episodes.

So, my current theory for 8x16 is that they will parallel the scene where Tommy comes over to Buck's loft in 7x04. Only this time it won't end with Tommy kissing Buck.

So Tommy shows up at Buck's house after the funeral to check in on him and finds Eddie already there, taking care of Buck because Eddie knows exactly what Buck needs. At the same time Buck will also take care of Eddie, because he lost Bobby too. Tommy will probably also find out that Eddie is staying with Buck as long as he's in LA.

Cue the awkward conversation (+ possible hint) with Eddie I talked about in the paragraphs above. Tommy might then have a short talk with Buck (probably in the kitchen again) that links back to the kitchen conversation after they hooked up.

And that might just trigger Buck to realise that life is too short. He can't just keep denying these feelings he has for Eddie. Cue Buck realising and accepting that he is actually in love with his best friend.

It might even end with a nice Buddie scene after Tommy leaves. Now, in a perfect world it would end with a Buddie kiss to parallel the BT kiss, but I don't think we are quite there yet. It seems a bit too fanficy. And also... Bobby just died. Now might not be the best time. 😫😂

So most probably Eddie will ask Buck if he is okay and Buck will just stand there trying to be normal with the realisation that he has fallen in love with Eddie.

Oh and let's not forgot the Bathena parallel in both episodes either. In 7x03 Buck and Athena had a reunion on the ship with Buck, Eddie and Tommy looking at them.

In 8x16 they'll (hopefully if Bobby is still alive) have another reunion as Bobby will be back. Probably with everyone there to see it.

(Yes, I am a Bobby is alive truther. Trust.😌)

I also don't think that Eddie's realisation will be too far behind once we have confirmation of Buck's feelings. Oliver has expressed his concerns before of not wanting to do the storyline of the bisexual man falling for his straight best friend. So I think they'll try to avoid that by making sure that Eddie will start his own journey of realisation as he starts to get more and more aware that Buck is a part of his joy and happiness in life.

All right everyone, keep in mind that this is just speculation.😋 These are my thoughts about what MIGHT happen in 8x16, based on what we know so far (which is almost nothing) and based on parallels with previous episodes. So please take all of this with a grain of salt. I'm here for the fandom fun, but I'm not clairvoyant. 😉

Episode 38: New Directions

After Peter had taken enough time for Michael, he went outside and was a little surprised to see Ethan standing next to Holly. He'd come straight to the hospital after work. “Well, now the only question is, do I wear a suit or a gown?"/ ‘ahaha, no gown please’, Michael had to laugh. “Hey, what's going on here?”.

Peter looked at the two of them with raised eyebrows and a slight smile “well, when Micha has recovered, there'll probably be a wedding soon…”/ “WHAT? does that mean you…?” Michael still had to laugh a little at the idea of seeing Peter in a gown. Which was, of course, completely absurd. “Yes, I asked him, well, indirectly…", he said then. ‘Wow, congratulations!’.

After Ethan and Holly had received the great news, Peter turned his attention back to Michael. “Do you know how long you have to stay here?"/ ‘Two to three days, you said.’/ ”OK. I'll go home now and let the others know, OK? “/ “I don't know if I can stand it here that long without a TV.”/ “How about a radio?”.

“Well, for once… I hope the food here doesn't taste so shitty"/ ”hn, don't worry, the quality has improved in the meantime. And when you're back home, you'll do the therapy, okay? You promised me"/ ‘yes, I will’/ ”good. By the way, your phone is charged, call me if you need anything. I'll come back tomorrow and bring you some fresh clothes"/ ‘O.k.’. The two of them kissed again and then Peter made sure that one of the nurses at least gave Michael a radio in his room. Anyone who has ever been in hospital knows how terribly boring it can be to spend the whole day in such a barren room.

By now it was after 6 p.m. when Peter and the others left the hospital building. He had been here for over nine hours, with the exception of the lunch break, which he spent with Holly. “I'm sure you're glad everything's okay with him now, aren't you?"/ ‘hh, definitely. ho-man…’/ ‘hnhn, and you're engaged now too, too bad, just without a ring’/ ‘won't the wedding ring be enough later?’/ ‘Sure…’..

“These little things are only symbolic anyway, believe me, your word weighs more. I'm happy for you"/ ”I… I've often thought about asking him too, but finding the right time is sometimes quite difficult. Well, now he's taken it off me, hnhn"/ ‘hn. and are you going to wear a WeddingGown?’/ ”Forget it, luckily neither of us is like that. Other gays seem to like wearing women's clothes… I can't stand it…”.

“I want to go home now and get into my bed… Our bed. It's the first time in a long time that I've slept alone again…"/ ‘hnhn, you'll survive it and so will he. and if he goes through with his therapy and gets it over with, then you'll have a great wedding’/ … On the drive home, Peter had a lot of thoughts running through his head. Above all, what his and Michael wedding might look like. He had a nice idea of seeing him in a white suit. Would it really turn out like that? Only time will tell.

For the next three days, the other side of the bed remained untouched. Michael recovered relatively quickly in hospital. His vital signs also improved steadily. Once he was back home, the therapy soon began. He had to see the well-qualified therapist twice a week. It took a while before he was able to talk to her openly and freely about what happened in Sunset Valley and what was bothering him afterwards…

Friends and family were informed on the same evening of the day of the operation how Michael was doing and what other events would take place in the future. Most of them were more than happy. Only Liane thought it was almost a little rushed. But whenever Peter talked about Michael, she quickly realized that he had become a big part of his life. But they wanted to wait a little longer before the wedding.

We now leave Bridgewood for a while to see how the other residents of Sunset Valley have fared in the meantime. Michael will work on himself and improve his physical condition. Lisa will hopefully have found a job she likes by the time we get back. And who knows what else will happen. Nero, at least, turns his nights into days - just like a cat.

Hi! Can you actually please elaborate on the stargate animorphs crossover thing? I am obsessed with both so this intrigues me 👀

OKAY! so this is more stargate atlantis + me playing fast and loose with animorphs canon, and an excuse to do a character study of john sheppard, because i love him.

this is part one, part two is here!

so in this au, long before john sheppard ever saw atlantis or the stargate, he knew that life existed beyond the stars. because john used to be tobias. for anyone more familiar with stargate than animorphs, tobias was trapped in the form of a redtail hawk, permanently, though he later regained the ability to morph into other forms, including his human self. in this au, the yeerk-human war was never revealed to the general populace, and everything was as hushed up as it could be. however, the us governement did not like the idea of someone with the morphing power they could not control, and therefore, shortly after the yeerks were defeated, tobias was forced by the us govt (and honestly as i type this i think maybe the rest of the living animorphs were involved bc they don't want tobias to have a lifespan of like 3 years as a hawk) to become a nothlit once more and trap himself in human form. he's placed by the government with a military family, and given a new name, since tobias at this point has been declared legally dead.

john sheppard grows up quiet and a little too intense for his peers who he is, a little too grown up (he is sixteen when the war ends but his human body was thirteen forever until it became his again). it takes him time to make his face emote like everyone else, to learn how to be charming to mask that hole inside him that longs to fly. (he never really kicks the prey drive - though catching darts out of the air does make for a fun party trick)

so he joins the air force. closest he'll get to flying again, there'll be no ellemist-ex-machina, but maybe he'll be able to capture a sliver of the life he lost. and john sheppard gets to see the stars, by a random, biological chance, and he can't help but wonder if it's not so random. if maybe his ATA is influenced by elfangor, by the eskafil device, by ellemist meddling - so much of his life has been touched by the unknown.

so john gets to atlantis like in canon, and quickly realizes that he is the only person in atlantis with clearance regarding the yeerk invasion. most of the early episodes go pretty much the same plot-wise, up until the genii invasion of atlantis. john going full guerrilla warfare/hawk mode is somehow more intense than in canon, and i think it definitely gets focus from his team. rodney, however, has been lowkey weirded out by some of john's behaviors since the start of the mission, having caught several of john's blank no-one-is-looking hawk expressions and has just been keeping a running tally of weird shit john does since, and this is just one more freaky fucking thing on john's tally.

nothing super comes of it though, and on the mission to chaya sar's planet, things end up changing for john quite a bit. this is where the au really kicks off, as chaya sar can sense something is different about john, and when he meets with her alone and she tells him she cannot intervene, she tells him that there is one thing she can do, just for him. it turns out that the ellemist is a rogue ancient who fucking loves meddling (told u we're fast and loose w/ animorphs canon) and because she would technically just be undoing some of that meddling, she can give john back his red-tailed hawk form, and only that, without a time limit.

so now john can literally fly again, and that changes things.

Hello, beautiful people! As seen on the manager post, Seyoon was approved for a pre-recorded podcast. More information about the podcast can be found below the cut, but here is a brief summary to catch your attention: Seyoon & his guest of the episode will be telling each other about some of the paranormal encounters they had in the past.

Is your character desperate for fall? Is Hallowe'en their favorite holiday? Have they got great ghost stories that they are dying to share? If so, I NEED YOU.

Four storytellers are needed for this podcast and I would happily write with every single one of my guests. This would be a great opportunity for our characters to get to know each other and bond over some light heebie-jeebies! There'll even be snacks - Seyoonie will fry up some ugly onion rings just for you.

Podcast concept:

need to cool down during the summer? how about listening to some spooky stories that'll surely send chills down your spine? kim seyoon's had some interesting paranormal encounters in the past and he's ready to share them in hopes of entertaining the masses. in each episode, seyoon will prepare a story to tell as the host and ask his guest to do the same. the story should sound like it's based on a real-life experience, told from the storyteller's perspective. for example, the music box my aunt bought me keeps on playing on its own at midnight, but only on rainy nights... (~'o')~

in general, the podcast is meant to give its audience a light scare, not to keep them up at night. the stories should be intriguing and thought-provoking, not overly graphic. the storytelling format is relaxed like two friends chatting in front of a warm fireplace at night. it is okay to interrupt the storytelling with questions and reactions because that adds to the casual vibe. during the storytelling, to add to the ambiance, seyoon may play sound effects like thunder, rain, ghostly wails, etc.

Only Friends Music Ep4 (part 2/2)

Part one covers the first half of Ep4, or you can find other episodes on my pinned comment.

This is a series of posts taking a closer look at the music of Only Friends. Reminder, Playing with the music is like body language, it moves with the conversation. Verbal says something either through lyrics or something like a song title.

This is a long one, but if your curious about Sand and Ray, they're the first and two last songs. The middle ones are Top, Mew, and Nick.

Before the song, Ray reaches out, trying to fix things. His first few tries are horrible failures, he doesn’t know how to behave with Sand. He’s used to people accepting his money or berating him, not expecting much from him. When Sand admits that it hurt to be thrown away, Ray finally realizes he needs to repeat to Sand that he does care, like he did in the parking lot earlier, “I do care about your feelings, that’s why I’m here.” Sand sees that Ray has been trying in his own way to make up for leaving the night before, and Ray is open and absorbs Sand's criticism, that Ray shouldn't drag him around and then throw him away as you see fit, people have feelings.

But they have not actually addressed the root problems, Mew and their own fears and baggage. The only way they’ll truly understand each other is to talk, which they have finally started to do. Sand went from denying feeling anything to admitting he was hurt. While Ray started to listen to what Sand was wanting from him.

They still know this relationship is not quite right though, and the song here reflects the underlying problems woven through their pretending to be okay. Song ends “You hold onto me like I’m already gone” and the scene changes to the record store.

The lyrics included in the show seem to talk about how to find the right path, we don’t have to be pushing beyond ourselves and into impossible feats. An acrobat does amazing feats to get from one place to another, gracefully flipping through the air. Ray is so stuck in the past that he feels like there are these huge gaps that he needs to be an acrobat to get out of the “landscape” he’s stuck in. We see this in his acrobatic efforts to make Sand happy by offering to buy his time, or a guitar, or asking Sand to scold him. He’s trying to be an acrobat by worrying about all the bands he doesn’t know. Sand is telling Ray he doesn't need to do the impossible, he just needs to steadily move towards the right path, and he can learn one band at a time, if he wants. Sand is also stuck in his landscape, doing the impossible with his 24 hours to get enough money to pay his mom’s debt, his schooling, and saving for the future.

Music and lyrics start as Sand answers Ray’s question about what bands he likes to listen to, and continues to play under their conversation. Given Ray and Sands previous bonding over the music in Ray’s home, it’s quite possible Ray took him there for the purpose of finding mutual ground, and Ray’s face as he tries to get to know Sand through music, and discovers he doesn’t recognize the bands Sand lists, highlight the differences between them in so many aspects of their lives. Ray is there on that day as a part of Sand’s world, and even though he is very much out of his depth in nearly every place they go he is trying his best to connect with the parts of Sand’s world he doesn’t understand. They may have been stuck in places they did not choose for themselves, but they are beginning to make their way towards a shared path which may end up being better for both of them

Ray wants to find his way in life again, and seems to be willing to grow and change for Sand. Again, he doesn’t need to be an acrobat, simply realizing he has more to offer than money is a good start.

Sand says that Ray only listens to the songs that his parents listened to, that “Try to open your mind and listen to new bands”. Ray uses music to process his emotions, and Sand giving him new music to listen to might give him a new way of looking at the world.

Song: Gonna Get You by Camelian Glade Scene: Boston and Top in the elevator Type: Vocal, Playful

Song starts with Boston catching the elevator Top is on. It pauses for a while until Boston puts his hand on Top’s shoulder to push him into the wall. This song highlights Boston’s predatory and possessive nature. When Top pushes him off Boston is hurt and falls back to reminding Top that Ray and Mew are messing with his head. Top pushes back “You just can’t stand the fact that I don’t want you any more.” Which hits the nail on the head, just Top is seeing it too late. The damage is done. The only lyrics, “Gonna get you now” play when the doors open and Boston storms out.

Song: Told Ya by Ballpoint Scene: Nick goes through Boston’s phone Type: Background, Vocal

Song is used in a very similar to Gonna Get You. Only words being “told ya” and it has a sense of urgency. But also the styles being similar highlight Boston and Nick’s motivations here. They’re both doing things out of obsession, hurt, and possessiveness. They’re both trying to get what they want, and playing a spy game. Boston using misinformation and sex, Nick using information and sex.

Song: He Closes In Nylonia Scene: Top and Sand fight Type: Playful Drums start when Top turns and sees Sand. At first Top is concerned but when he sees Sand he changes completely. Pauses for a moment, but comes back quieter as Top starts to blame Sand for the accident. It slowly builds throughout the verbal fight until we finally get to the punches. Once Nick stops the fight it repeats a note and a drum beat and finally stops as Top gets into the car to drive away.

Song: He closes in (again) Scene: End of nick and Sand scene Type: Playful After Sand says “Top stole my Ex.” the ‘war drums’ from He Closes In start, the same song that played during Top and Sand’s fight.

Ray apologizes for kissing Mew, saying it was wrong to do to Mew or anyone else. That he should have asked permission first. Ends after Mew tells him to forget it.

Song: In the Danger Zone by Marten Moses Scene: Mew and Top talk Ray liking Mew Type: vocal Same song that played in the flashback when Mew was looking for Ray in his house. Starts with Top being angry and upset while getting his wound treated by Mew. Pauses when Mew tells Top about the kiss, restarting after Top says “Just a kiss? Nothing else happened?” It stops when Top relents and apologizes.

“You don’t even have to love me” plays for the first time as Mew slips his hand into Top’s pants. The song seems to highlight the depth of both characters' feelings, while also emphasizing the lack of trust and truth between them. They’re both moving forward based on Mew’s checklist because of mutual attraction. They want to be together but lack of communication has left them working off false versions of each other. They still WANT each other a lot but…the falseness that permeates through their relationship is reflected in these lyrics

Music starts as Ray is in the bath, sad and drinking, but it’s a cleansing bath. He’s staring at the keychain Mew bought for him and after a few moments the scene shifts to a flashback. Mew gives Ray a keychain and explains that he bought it to remind Ray of his name. Ray shouldn’t be sad, he’s a Ray of sunshine! Mew’s advice is always how Mew wants things to be and not based on what actually is needed. Calling back to the pool party in EP3 and the song We Will Never Die. Mew’s advice was accompanied by the lyric “On an island in the shade, the city is on fire”. Mew is on an island in the shade and Ray is in a city on fire. Mental illness isn’t something easily fixed, and Ray continues to self medicate and yearn for connection after receiving the keychain from Mew. The lyrics start after Mew says “You shouldn’t be sad, friend” Ray asks Mew “Don’t you think I’m too hot for people to handle?” Mew brushes this off with “Lots of people like hotness”. It might have been said in a place of love, but it isn’t what Ray needed. Despite this, Ray's love for Mew has been his lifeline for the last two years, a person who will come to him in great need, but will hold him at arm's length any other time. In the present, Ray reflects “Mew is my emergency contact, and I always thought I was his too. But right now, I don’t think I’m that important to him anymore.” and then the lyrics “It’s hard to get over, You chose someone else, your new best friend.” play as the camera pans to the Poor Boy shirt. Ray might finally accept that he’s not Mew’s choice, but Mew might be happy with someone else. And Ray wants to be that special person to someone, so he needs to actively let go of Mew. He was slowly letting go before, realizing how good it felt to have someone to be there, to talk to, and how different it feels from Mew’s love. Mew is still obviously important to him, but Mew doesn’t want Ray to be his savior, just a typical friend.

So far, Our is one of the few songs (so far) that is translated on screen, and they even pause the music as they take off their headphones. In the pause Ray says “The song makes me wanna fly to Chiang Mai and sip beer right now.” Sand responds “And set up a tent?” Ray responds “I like, na” leaving it open ended what he’s talking about. Be it the imagery, the song, or Sand.

The song is about an empty place with your significant other, a place where the stars and moon shine and the breeze is cool. Some place where only we exist without any outside stress or worries. It’s a place that is cooling and healing, which is what Ray needs. Ray can be hot there, and the cool breezes will heal him.

In Sand and Ray’s imaginary trip to Chiang Mai with this song, it gives Ray a direct comparison with the trip 2 years ago with Mew. That time he was told “Lots of people like hotness” while he was a burning city, however, this time he has a cool breeze and someone to hold hands with, someplace that is only theirs.

The song ends before they finally go beyond the “what if” stage, before there is only us. Leaving them with meaningful glances, ambiguous words and holding hands. It’s not quite right, they have not quite made the final step, but they have started to move from their cycle.

My Rant against SNL: Part 1

I don't like SNL, and I'm going to try and dissect why. This will be divided into three parts. Part 1 will cover SNL from 1975 to 2000 or so (Warning: I've only seen episodes from seasons 2-3, 6, 10 and some compilation videos from this era). Part 2 will cover SNL from 2000-Present (Really, it'll be focused on 2018 to Present, as that's the only era of SNL I've seen on TV/remembered seeing). And Part 3 will be my angry rant about Lorne Michaels. Let's start, shall we?

Part 1: SNL's First 30 Years I've only seen some of SNL's earliest years, but even the stuff I've seen has been a very mixed bag. I've seen like 5 episodes from seasons 2-3 of the show, and only one was good all the way through. I am inclined to blame the writers for this, cause most of their performers seem really good and funny. But they clearly were dealt a bad hand by their writers, who wildly swing from good to terrible.

I've seen two other 1970s Sketch Shows (SCTV and The Carol Burnett Show) and both were funnier. SCTV had a lot more consistent level of quality in it's first two seasons (I've found season 3 slightly more iffy), and The Carol Burnett Show was always fun (I've seen episodes from every season, pretty much). Those shows both had one thing that SNL has always lacked: Consistency. SNL has never been consistent. In one episode alone, there'll usually be like 3-4 good things and 5 bad things. With SCTV and The Carol Burnett Show, I never had that problem. It's unique to SNL.

Really, SNL's writers just seem worse. They certainly didn't write at a consistent quality, like the writers at SCTV did. And that's a real shame, because both shows had an origin in the Chicago theatre circuit. But somehow, one was just vastly superior.

My least favorite performer from that era was John Belushi. He was loud and obnoxious, and not in a funny way. He's the worse Chris Farley. (I'm a bit biased because my mom liked Chris Farley, however). I still think it's a deep shame he died so young, but I'll save my vitriol there for my segment on Lorne Michaels.

Also, SNL was too surreal for me. SCTV was more story based, even if it only had a loose story. That may have helped as well.

Anyways, let's move to season 6. I only saw 1 episode of season 6, and it wasn't bad. I didn't laugh uproariously a lot, but it was pretty good. I honestly like Jean Doumanian and Dick Ebersol a hell of a lot more than Lorne Michaels. Poor Jean was dealt a bad hand, and that's all there is to it.

Besides, her cast was pretty good. Joe Piscopo was very funny, and Eddie Murphy was also always funny. Gilbert Gottfried was amazing, and Charles Rocket wasn't as bad as some make him sound. It was hard to differentiate between the three girls (besides Denny Dillion, because she was blond and the other two were brunette or something), but they all seemed okay. Certainly not as bad as the press made them out to be.

At last I caved and am watching new!Xmen 97. Two eps in so far.

The animation is good, it really is... They leaned into the retro style but cleaned up and it looks great. But so far there's next to no atmosphere (except for Storm's bits lol). Even in the middle of the night everyone's lit up bright as day lol. Pet peeve of mine.

Also I really wish western animators would learn a little about dynamic storyboarding from anime. Especially since the faces can be so unemotional, it's important to let body language, lighting, and framing convey what they won't use faces for so they won't look "unmanly"

When the voice actors are talking about normal stuff, they sound awesome. When they're talking about X-men stuff, they sound like they stepped out of the 90s yesterday. Lol. Makes me batty. That one scene where Jean's like "I remember when all of existence was on the brink of destruction and there was Scott" and then segues into some nice female support group with Ororo is a good example.

The jokes are funny. Like they are actually funny you guys x'D Wolvie vs Scott has me in stitches. Beast of course has the best lines. Gambit's pretty good too.

Scott makes a really good show these first couple episodes. I'm enjoying him. He's a lot like X-men Evo Scott. Animated Scotts are always so chipper compared to comics Scott, but at least he's not all burnt out like WatXM Scott or all one note like movie Scott.

They let Jean fight while pregnant! I mean... she was just sitting there using her psychic powers... but still. She fought while pregnant! lol.

When she went into labor I thought it was a missed opportunity for some peak humor. Like they got a good start with Wolvie being her only option for getting her to the hospital, and then the chaos on the ride over was funny. But they ruined it by making half the team just quit fighting and go to the hospital. Of course it's important for Scott to be there, but... Honestly I think it would've been funnier if Jean had no one but Logan. Also Rogue saying "what if I touch the baby by accident" kinda baffled me because no one should be touching a newborn, let alone the mother, without gloves...

Morph upsets me xD In a nice way, I guess. Like they're clearly a stand in for Deadpool. Yes, comics Morph is also like that, but still... they're here to be this universe's Wolverine's Deadpool. And they haven't even had that many good lines yet! I'm sure there'll be more as the season goes on but. Then they even cheer up Logan with not only a six pack of beer but a good old bout of wrestling? CMON THAT'S LOGAN AND KURT'S THING. lol. I'm so offended. No not really. But kinda. Anyway. Morph is sweet even though they've stolen Crawler's role with the beer and the friendly fisticuffs and the insecurity etc etc.

For a less extremely personal and subjective opinion on Morph... I actually am slightly bugged that they're here only because their power is morphing. So the X-men have got Rogue, who can imitate anyone's power once she absorbs it, and Morph, who can just imitate anyones power by morphing. If they have limits in this show it's not clear as of yet. So that is too much power on the X-men if you ask me. Can they not just morph into Juggernaut or something? It is really challenging to balance all X-men powers and use them logically. I feel like you shoot yourself in the foot by tossing in too many of the overpowered types.

I LIKE MORPH OKAY I DO. DON'T COME FOR ME. I'M JUST A DEPRIVED X-FAN FROM YER MOM'S GENERATION OKAY

On a very positive note, I'm thrilled that it's only two episodes in and almost everyone on the cast has stuff to do! Scott and Jean obvs - Magneto and Xavier - Jubilee and (potentially) Roberto - Rogue and Gambit (to be fair Gambit's not really happened yet but the seeds are planted with his crush on Rogue and her involvement with Magneto) - and of course Storm. I'm kinda nervous right now because 97!Storm is one of the best Storms ever, and if she's depowered and gone from the team for long the show will really miss her... But that was a great story arc for her in the comics and I'm really hoping it pans out well in this season too.

notice I didn't mention Wolverine. Well Wolverine's always involved in stuff. I don't have to worry about him lol. I'm happy to let someone else be more relevant to the story for a while.

So the hits keep coming and they don't stop coming, which is great, because everyone has something to do, but is also nuts, because boy the show moves fast. Take a breather ffs. It's EPISODE TWO lmao.

Overall I guess it's what I would have expected from a sequel to the old TAS series, but also rather better than what I would have expected. So that's pretty great.

Okay as my all-time favourite Ted lasso artist and blog; what are your honest thoughts about the finale episode??

i've still only seen the episode once but just for you, sweet nonnie, i will rewatch it for more thoughts, but for now:

LOVED probably 80-90% of the episode and it was bittersweet and emotional af

every single one of the callbacks made me so happy especially the offside and nate's play

i'd hoped for the whole season they weren't gonna do the love triangle thing with roy & jamie again, but unfortunately they did and even left it till the finale which was disappointing, but i did like how they resolved it, even if the throuple didn't happen (:/ or at least didn't happen onscreen)

i needed more nate this episode - i was hoping he wouldn't return just as a kitman and i wanted to see how that conversation went, but as always nick delivers on the stuff he DID get and i'm eternally grateful for his presence in the show

seeing the full diamond dogs just brings me so much fucking joy god i love six (6) men

barbara is such a little freak i love her and everything about her

one final triumph of tony head's rupert was incredibly satisfying to see i love old men. but WHERE IS BEX. i needed to see the rebecca/bex/ms kakes revenge storyline

re. the tedbecca of it all, i really thought they were gonna do it till the airport scene and am still surprised they didn't, which meant that the first fakeout scene was absolutely uncalled for and felt really in bad faith after the fact, even as a person who does not actively ship them

now for the stuff i REALLY. really. did not like, as evidenced by a number of dozens of tweets and two long stern worded replies in brendan's ama: absolutely unbelievable that beardjane were endgame when basically no other established ships/relationships ended up being endgame. very disappointed about the direction the show took them in and the writers' not realizing how harmful it can be to celebrate a toxic and abusive relationship. most important i think beard deserves better than jane but maybe that's just the beard fan in me talking.

i wish ted & beard would've had a deeper conversation re. jane & leaving london before they literally got on the flight, and gave us more resolution with these two men whom i dearly love and want to see more of - it does NOT help when brendan says they "don't see each other for years" because cmon. this is a feel good tv show. you don't have to bring your "real life friendship" stuff into here. make us feel good about ted leaving please.

and finally, ted leaving, which i definitely expected. i just didn't expect that the people trying to make him stay to not have any effect on him at all. i agree with others that ted seemed quite distanced and detached for the whole episode, but they'll most likely never end up addressing this ever again. i wish he'd explored more options than just "leave permanently and never come back" - and ended up being the same place he started before he came to london, but i appreciate the effort he is making for henry.

as for the future of the show, i hope there'll be a spin off with maybe some of the existing characters but definitely a whole new showrunning/writing/creating team, i would love to see other's interpretations for the characters & universe i've grown to love over the past year and a half.

so yeah, that's about all i can think of re. the finale. i was holding out for the last 15 mins of flashforward montage to be a dream sequence but brendan debunked that theory pretty definitively yesterday, so there's that. i appreciate the show for what it was to me and forgive it for what it wasn't, and i will still be enjoying the bits i enjoyed from it wholeheartedly - it was not a perfect show, but it was a great show to have enjoyed over the past year and a half and to have shared with the rest of y'all. i cannot wait to see what the universe, and everyone who was involved with the show will go on to do next and you'll be damned if i wasn't gonna follow jimmy lance's career until he is fully out of work. richmond till we die <3

So in elsewhere and elsewhen getting the collector is basically the whole goal of philip does collector in any way try to change the timeline of him being manipulated by telling luz to not help philip????? Does luz feel anything from the fact that philip knows the collector somehow? Does she ask him about philip? The that part of episode is sorta focused on the collector so it’s interesting to know how that would change

This took me a hot moment to figure out and I had to talk it through with my sibling, so take pride in that I guess, lol. Time travel plots continue to be the absolute bane of my existence in new and exciting ways. Gonna put this entire explanation under a readmore because this got lengthy. There'll also be a tldr at the end.

So this episode gave me... a lot of strife. But that's what makes it fun yknow. Anyway, the main problem is that Luz goes back in time because she wants to meet Philip and find the Collector because they presumably know how to make a functioning portal door. Immediate and obvious problem: she already knows the Collector, so she already knows that that path is a dead end. In addition, I've been working with the idea that the Collector tells Luz Belos' true identity from day one. So Luz would have literally no reason to want to go back in time (that I could see).

The easiest thing to do would be to say "okay, it doesn't happen then". But I can't do that; if Luz doesn't go back in time and help Philip, then Philip doesn't get the Collector, and if he doesn't get the Collector then nothing in the show happens, and neither does my au. Plus we get cool aunt Lilith, and let's be real that's just indispensable. Point being, Elsewhere and Elsewhen is kind of a loadbearing episode.

In all fairness, I could just say that Philip finds a different sacrifice. I'm sure he could. But I'm not going to say that because it feels like a copout, and I don't do copouts (except for when I do, but I'm not here).

So after much deliberating and talking and writing in an attempt to add some sort of organization to my thoughts, I've come to the conclusion that I just need to change my au. The thing I mentioned at the beginning is now null - Luz doesn't know that Philip and Belos are the same. When Luz and the Collector meet at the beginning he tells her all he can about Belos' plans, but nothing about Belos' past. Mostly because he doesn't want her asking questions about their past, but also because they might not have thought it was relevant at the time. This would come back to bite them in the ass later (along with many other things).

When Luz learns about Philip and later on gets his diary, the Collector starts to get a little worried. But he can't rightly stop her from doing that because that would be hella suspicious. So they watch it happen and hope to the stars that it ends up being a dead end. They never did pay much attention to what Philip was writing in his lame book.

This finally brings us to Elsewhere and Elsewhen, where I will make one more small change and say that Luz is somehow prevented from hearing the Collector's name in the echo mouse's projection (which may or may not have something to do with the Collector themself). So she knows that Philip met with someone who supposedly knew how to make a working portal door, but not who. This last minute save doesn't help much, though, as this hole in information only motivates Luz more to go back in time and find out for herself.

Aside from that, Elsewhere and Elsewhen plays out pretty much the same. The Collector whines even more than normal that this is a waste of time and it's not worth it and there's no way they'll ever find one guy in a whole city and they should really just go home already. Unfortunately for him, Luz is having none of it. When they finally meet Philip, the Collector is silent.

When Philip uses them to get the door open the Collector learns something new, and they don't like it.

I considered him telling Luz that truth after E+E, but I realized it would be more effective if he didn't. His choice to reveal the truth to Luz in Hollow Mind is more meaningful character-wise if it's something he hasn't been willing to do before. At least, I think so. I'll probably talk about or illustrate that particular plot point more in a later post. But also, a large part of Luz's shutdown after going into the Emperor's mind is the guilt she feels about kind of being the reason Belos is able to end the world. If that reveal happens earlier, then most of that aftermath is diverted to there and she instead just feels angry at the Collector for lying to her again. This way she gets to feel both crushing guilt and anger. After all, why would I miss the chance to make Hollow Mind even more miserable than it already is?

I could talk more but this post isn't about Hollow Mind, and I think I've gone on long enough. There ya go, that's Elsewhere and Elsewhen. Hope this response sufficiently answered your question (and if not you can always ask more ha).

Tldr: The Collector doesn't tell Luz about Belos' true identity at the beginning, ultimately keeping the past intact. This information is revealed to her, by the Collector, in Hollow Mind.

Check, at least not yet but if Marinette isn't in Paris anymore then there'll be no Ladybug and Chat Noir in her life, yes? So she thought her life would be finally peaceful... Okay before getting to the story, I need to give you AN beforehand, sorry.

AN: Hello, I'm back from the death (heh). Sorry for being gone suddenly, it's been like one or two years? Anyway, I had been busy with real-life problems... Although, finally I graduated! Now I got the inspiration to continue this story after reading some of Daminette's fanfics hehe. I won't guarantee that the story will be good since I had problems:

- English is not my first language (I had to use google translate or Grammarly for help lol), and I had a problem with how to transfer my idea into good words. I'm stressing myself out to make a good sentence. I do indeed already done with my rough drafts (it has 25 pages in total) until the ending but I'm still struggling to expand that rough drafts into chapters or to put it nicely, I don't know how to turn that rough drafts into interesting chapters lol :"). But I felt guilty if I don't post this because I've promised you and I'm not a person who likes to break a promise unless I'm forced to.

- I'm not following MLB anymore since... Cat Blanc incident (Actually I've not watched that episode too but at least I've heard about it). Not only that, I'm not following Batman's adventure too, I learned their characters only from fanfictions I've read, not including the Maribat fandom. So yeah, expect some or maybe all characters to be OOC. I'll try not to make them cringe, okay.

- The story probably would end up different from how I planned on the beginning because when I re-read it again now, I found out there's some that I don't like, or I am already bored with it so I changed it.

none of y'all reminded me but since i remembered: my thoughts on sonoshi being the kamen no ninja akakage homage

gonna cut it cause gonna get into spoilers for both shows (especially regarding sonoshi!)

first of all: according to both the fandom page and wikipedia, kamen no ninja was one of the first (if not the first) toku shows shot and shown in color. so from a like historical point of view, that's pretty big. it has an anime and a few movies, including a 2001 remake. i'm not sure how big of a historical impact it really had, considering i can't find subs other than the first two episodes on youtube (granted i didn't look THAT hard). but still. a show that has historical merit even if it doesn't have the biggest cultural impact.

so what's kamen no ninja akakage about? well, i'm not SUPER far into it, but since i've hit chapter 2 (it's in 4 chapters of 13 episodes each), we have stopped pretending to have like feasible ninja technology and are also making VERY questionable villain choices. like 😬😬😬 on that one. yes it was the 60s and still also wtf. but it's about three ninjas, one kid (aokage), one guy (akakage), and one older guy (shirokage), that are trying to stop a cult (and i only know this because of the two episodes with subs.) they have the powers of "whatever will get them out of this situation." the practical effects are very bad at times but it's very charming and funny. i'm enjoying the dynamics of our 3 ninjas very much, even though i understand basically NOTHING. (i have no idea if there'll be a love interest at some point, but i kinda doubt it because the dynamic is more between these 3)

Finally, there's the bar's chefs and wait staff. Only the head chef and two of the waiters serve as main characters. They round out our cast of six here. Although there's definitely more chefs at the bar (and probably a few more waiters), I think it's best not to have too many main characters. Maybe there'll be one or two patrons who we see in nearly every episode, but that's it.

The Head Chef is Bo Jacobson. Bo is a stoic and gruff man who often seems intimidating at first glance. But once you get to know him, you realize that he's actually a very kindhearted soul. He's a great chef, very skilled at what he does. He's head chef at the bar because he's old friends of the owner. I haven't quite figured out how their friendship began yet, but it started long ago when they were both much younger men.

There are lots of chefs under Bo (no bar could survive with one chef) but Bo is the only one of them to be a main character. Maybe occasionally we'll see a glimpse of the other chefs, but none are as important as Bo. Bo's the head chef. He's been head chef pretty much ever since it first opened, and he's very good friends with the owner. So he's got a personal connection to the place.

Then we have the two waiters. First there's Jessica. Jessica is 22 years old, and she's a very energetic girl. She's very personable, and she loves people. She loves a lot of things, honestly. She's a very optimistic person. Jessica started working here because she needed a part time job during her college years, but now she's working here full time.

Jessica has a dream. One day Jessica wants to open her own restaurant. Well, that is if she can't take over this place. If the current owner ever retires, Jessica dreams of taking over the place. She'd get to be around people, caring for them and serving them all that they need. She dreams of that type of thing. She'd just love to be able to care for other people for a job. To her, that's just the ideal world. To her, that would just be the perfect life.

Finally, there's our second waiter (I haven't committed to a name yet. Maybe Damien)? Our second waiter is kind of the exact opposite of Jessica. Whereas Jessica is incredibly extroverted and fond of being around people, he's more fond of sitting near the fire with a good book. He also loves the bar, but for different reasons than Jessica. While Jessica loves it because it lets her work around people, he likes it because the place is small and quiet and all the customers are like family to him at this point. While he still hates being around people because it's so stressful sometimes, he enjoys the job because the patrons are usually always all familiar and friendly to him.

This is how he gets involved in some of the different anthology stories. Whenever a new customer shows up, he gets really stressed out. Sometimes he'll end up retreating into himself, which leads to the customers inquiring as to if he's okay. And the answer there is that he's probably fine, he's just incredibly shy.

Him and Jessica sort of have that Odd Couple/Opposites Attract dynamic. Although they're both so very different from each other, they also both have become friends with each other. They're both been working for the place for roughly the same amount of time as each other, so I suppose it's only natural that they've become some close to each other.

Just like with Bo and the Chefs from earlier, I think it's safe to assume that there's at least one or two other waiters at this bar. But I can't run myself ragged focusing on too many characters. So only Jessica and Our second waiter (I'm still leaning towards Damien for a name) will be main characters. Maybe occasionally we'll focus on one of the other waiters for a storyline or two.

I've got a new idea that I'm very proud of! It's an idea for either a tv show or a series of TV Movies released every Christmas. It's about the goings on at a bar/restaurant/lounge every Christmas. I came up with this prompt all on my own after listening to a lot of Christmas music. I did use AI to bounce my ideas off of it, however. Whether it's a TV series or merely a series of TV Movies released every new Christmas season, one thing is clear: the show is only ever set during winter/christmas.

The Bar where the show is set is like a mix of a rustic old ski lodge and of an old cosmopolitan cocktail lounge from the 1940s. It's got a very old timey feel, at any rate.

This idea could be viewed as similar to shows like The Love Boat. An anthology series, but with a few characters connecting all the stories to each other. On the Love Boat, the crew of the ship were the characters who tied everything together. Here, it's the bar's staff who tie all the stories together. At least one staff member shows up during each of the 3-4 stories told in one episode.

Since I just brought them up, let's discuss the bar's staff:

First, there's the bar's owner (I don't have a name for him yet). He's an old man who always seems to know just what to do to boost his patrons spirits during the holiday season. He's also got a bit of an aura of mystery to him, mostly because it's implied he has some sort of history with Santa. Whether they be Best Friends, Distant Relatives or something in between, it's clear he's got some sort of connection to Santa and the North Pole.

I want him to be like Ricardo Montalban on Fantasy Island, this older man with an aura of mystery surrounding him. Personally, I like conclusive answers though. So I'll probably address the mystery at some point (after a season or two, or during the third or fourth special). I'm leaning towards the relatives ideas, personally. I think it's a clever idea for how they might know each other.

Also at the bar is a somewhat washed up old lounge singer (don't have a name for him yet either). 70-75 years old at the beginning of our series, he's been working for this bar since sometime in the late 90s (let's say he joined the staff around 1996 or so). He always wanted to make it big and be a successor to his idols Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, etc. But sadly, this never quite worked out as planned. He was sometimes able to book some small gigs, but he could never afford to play any big venues.

At some point in his 30s, he falls into a deep depression because of this. For almost 9 years, he wouldn't perform his music anymore. It's only because he happened to stop in at this bar for his 46th birthday that he's performing again. He fell in love with the atmosphere at the bar and with the feelings of love and camaraderie displayed there. He loved it so much he asked if he could perform at the bar, acting as a form of In-house entertainment. The bar's owner said he liked the idea a lot, and he's been working here ever since. In fact, his 30th anniversary of working for the bar is slowly approaching.

So after 5 days of anxiety (✌🏼) i posted mine this morning bc last night i realised that i didn‘t even know why i was having anxiety so i just posted mine today. The deadline is tomorrow at 12 and no one except me has posted theirs yet........ so i have anxiety again 🥰 cause idk if i‘m the only one who did it or if i even did it correctly

I‘m loving falcon and winter soldier so much but when i was watching an episode the week before last week (?) my laptop broke😭😭😭😭 during the scene where the dora milaje came at the end my laptop just shut down? i used to be one of the people who‘d just do motherlode motherlode motherlode and just... what did i do? Why did i do that??? But not anymore lol. So my sims just don‘t age 💀 but i could (should) turn aging on so that it stays exciting and i have limited time and everything. and once i get bored with my current sims i can just make them have kids and continue playing as their children when they get older- like recently i remembered that i haven‘t played the acting career in ages? and i haven‘t had a shop in ages? and i think you can even become a vet right??? like those are definitely some things i want to do in the next weeks!!! Also yes sksksjs i have a few hundred hours on sims as well (if not thousands 😭) it was just that one household that i‘d been playing with for 24hrs
