i love dnd..i love playing heavy utility/support/backfield and i love having three to six attacks in a turn and an insane ac. at heart im a support player ill get my hands on whatever we're missing in a group
#looks at a druid a fighter and a bard fighter. okay cleric time.#i LOVE playing cleric turns out.#though abjuration wizard is still super super fun its a different flavor of support#it's not buffs it's 'i am going to transfer literally all that damage to myself and war caster style succeed my witchbolt concentration'#doing insane amounts of damage while taking damage (+ with temp hp and then just a lot of hp. im taking the tough feat as soon as possible)#aabria iyengar was right these abjuration wizards are craaaazy. but war domain clerics also fuck hard#my abj wiz is very much an experiment in 'what if someone who is not at all suited to this life tries to adapt as well as she can'#the point is that she isn't a cleric. do u understand. she's not a cleric and that's the point it's the. hbbbgbfhb. she's out here#functioning as a combat medic on some aasimar features + healing kits/potions + arcane ward. Look At Me#i also really enjoy playing nonreligious characters in these worlds where deities 100% exist not in a 'fuck the gods' way but in#a way somewhere between 'i'm all i need' and 'i called and no one answered' and 'may or may not go on an insane power hungry spiral and#try to get a touch of godhood' which is in part very due to my own agnostic and people-loving heart and 'haha what if i icarused this girl'#a resentful caution towards gods an immense respect towards religious companions and 'when your god isn't here to help. i will be'#anyway REACTION arcane ward you don't take damage im fine. next turn reaction shield ward's back up. the thing is.#she will drive her hp down. the ward isn't much like it goes past that temp hp. it's 14hp that shit goes down and carries to her hp#but it never drops. any leveled spell puts hp back into the ward. a 1st lvl shield puts it at 2hp and she can use it again#she is not suited for these conditions but my god it is fun to watch. i care her.#i explained that subclass feature to a player that's not in that campaign and said. like. yeah she can take damage. when her ward drops to#0 it carries to her. any leveled abj spell puts it back up. and she can use it and drive her hp down again.#do u understand what i am explaining to u! do you get it! she is and has always been a punching bag!#she was a very valuable asset to the army and the group she was drafted! into. because when she's there. people just don't fucking go down#aside from her. aside from her. AAAAH. she's so cool. she is very smart i am still riding the high of critting every turn w witchbolt and#reacting to ward a party member against a crit that would have dropped him by taking the hit herself. and she didn't break concentration#badass

through altercations known only to me rereading my lalonde wizard post has made me think about what class each of the kids would play in dungeons and dragons, so i’m subjecting my 2 followers to it.
john: fighter. i’m sorry but i can’t see him picking anything else besides maybe like… ranger. he mostly sticks to the default subclass but jade probably made him try rune knight at least once for a one-shot. he found it too complicated but relented to branch out into more subclasses afterwards.
dave: i’m torn between rogue and hexblade warlock. mayhaps some sort of cursed multiclass of both. he seems like the type to look up game guides to get the most broken character build possible and make up a backstory on the fly but he ends up actually quite attached to his pcs.
rose: probably a warlock. my first instinct was wizard, but i think she’d enjoy the flavour of warlock more, considering her gothic tendencies. she started out with the great old one patron but then discovered homebrew and became unstoppable. that one player who sends 10 pages of backstory, but it’s actually enjoyable to read
jade: the dungeon master. she’s the one who can most reliably engage all the players in the game without overcomplicating the plot and probably excels in juggling everyone’s game preferences. though when she does get to play she probably has no set character type and just makes a character depending on what strikes her fancy that day
jane: my first instinct was a city ranger build, since that’s probably the closest you get to a detective in dnd, but hear me out.. paladin. the strict code of oath. the angsty backstories. the heroic persona. jane spent a lot of time pre-game playing damsel in distress. i think she’d enjoy playing the knight for once. she probably tries it just to try it at first but ends up liking the mechanics so much she just sticks to it
dirk: right. we have a few options here. the first one is specifically cavalier fighter, because they get a mount. obvious choice. but for some reason he also strikes me as someone who would play sorcerer. it has some of the most fiddly mechanics in the game and it’s one of the closest classes we get to not-newbie-friendly in dnd. he’d like the challenge. then he looks at the set up of the rest of the party, sees they have no healer, and begrudgingly picks cleric/druid
roxy: is there really a question here? she would play wizard. she might branch out into warlock for a one-shot or something when she sees rose play it but she would probably prefer the versatility and sheer volume of wizard spells. i swear opening the wizard spell list is like spinning a wheel of fortune every damn time. also it means she gets to have a familiar and obviously she would make mutini (i mean, excuse me, moutani)
jake: i’m imagining his character creation went a little something like this: “So which class will let me do some pistol action?” “well, technically any of them, if you have the right proficiency!” “Okay but are there any that are like, really good at it?” “i mean… there are gunslingers and technically artificers…” “Great! i’ll play that then” before jade can explain gunslingers are actually sort of really complicated to play, especially for newbies. eventually he switches to bard
bonus: terezi plays barbarian. you can’t convince me otherwise.

okay because i still have tabletop gaming on the brain (and I know you play now hehe):
would any of your MCs/OCs ever join a D&D campaign? (or something more niche like Ars Magica?) What would their classes be? What parts would they most enjoy?
ty sunshine! 💖
thank you for dropping by o/
Rin -> funny enough I actually headcannon that Rin starts a rival D&D club after trying to join Edgar’s table. She thought it’d be fun. Anyhow, she’s usually DM but on the rare occasion the group’s playing a one-shot, Rin’s often a barbarian. Though she’s dabbled with fighters and warlocks, barbarian is the only one that really sticks xD I think she really enjoys playing a character that’s just allowed to feel, who’s allowed to use and acknowledge intense emotions to the team’s benefit rather than their detriment, if that makes sense? When it comes to campaigns, she leans more towards ‘dungeon’ mechanics (<- ie getting quest after quest with less importance on fleshing out a character/role play) over anything else! (Also: she is a dice-hoarder, what can she say? Dice are pretty)
*Rams -> really wanted to play D&D but couldn’t find time for it… now, xe would join a campaign (if offered) but doesn’t go out looking for one. Out of all my MCs, co’d be the most open to other ttrpgs though just know co will almost always be the healer. In D&D, ze splits between cleric and druid with a mean lean towards druid. Rams is very much a roleplayer, ze doesn’t mind lots of battles but they take last priority to really getting in character and playing out a story.
Fiona -> I think he plays on the off chance if he happens to have the time + the energy. Like, you might find him wandering into a dice store and dropping in on a game every couple of months. But also, Fiona is the type whose character is a self-insert. The only difference between Ivo and Fiona is that Ivo is a traveling bard and, arguably, Fiona is not. I’d say, Fiona tends to prefer non-homebrew campaigns because 1) they are familiar and he can really focus on knowing his party members even if for just one night and 2) homebrew campaigns make him feel more bad about not being a consistent party member. (Also: only has the beginners’ pack blue dice)
Jiahao -> never played. Would play to satisfy her curiosity if a friend really wanted her to play with them. If she did ever play, his character would be a rogue. Like fallen noble turned crooked criminal type!
*Wanted to add: in Rams’ universe, there’s a D&D equivalent called Immortal Realms in which the BOLAS characters are part of a pre-made campaign kit

MSB kids are doing DND. What chaos would happen while they roleplay as civilians in a fantasy world?
Classes:
Mikey: Dungeon master (DM). If he's not DMing, he plays Artificer.
Phoebe: Druid
Carlos: Artificer (sometimes he plays as a bard)
DA: Wizard (and secondary DM)
Tim: Bard
Wanda: Fighter
Keesha: Ranger
Ralphie: Barbarian or Warlock
Arnold: Cleric
Headcanons:
Hugo the Orangutan (from that one Wild Kratts episode) is a recurring NPC. He appears in almost every campaign, and every time, he has a quest for the DND party.
Mikey has several pieces of paper that say "Loading" with random DND tips (like video game loading screen tips) that he slots into his DM screen whenever he needs some time to think or look up rules or whatnot.
One time, the gang uses Chinese fortune cookies instead of dice. Instead of rolling, they would eat the cookies, read their fortunes aloud, and let the DM decide what it means.
Example:
Mikey: Okay guys, eat for initiative.
*Everyone reaches into a large bowl of fortune cookies in the center of the table*
Ralphie, who was way to eager: Mine says, "Every flower blooms in its own sweet time."
Mikey: You go last.
Mikey: As the party travels, you encounter a fork in the road...
Carlos: I pick it up.
Mikey: Really, bro?
Almost everyone has played as a spell-casting class at one point or another. Wanda and Carlos are no longer allowed to do so because A) Wanda uses very destructive spells (mainly fireball) and Carlos only uses spells that do stupid things.
Carlos and Mikey: *explaining how they're making a fog machine to fill with holy water to make an area of permanent damage against the vampire lord*
D.A. (the dungeon master for that round): ...
Sometimes the Wild Kratts team joins in the DND fun. It gets ten times more chaotic when they join. The members of the team take turns being the DM.
Keesha: Oh wow, this shop has everything my heart desires!
Mikey (voicing the "spooky shopkeeper" NPC): Yes, I will warn you... every item comes with a price.
Keesha: Yes, I know how shops work.
Mikey: The price may be more than you expect to pay.
Keesha: Yes, I know how US taxes work, too.
Mikey, increasingly exasperated: I'm trying to tell you that I'm evil and offering these wares with no regard for the harm they will do!
Keesha, also increasingly exasperated: I know what capitalism is too, goddammit.
More headcanons:
The DND party is EASILY distracted. A cat? Gotta stop and pet it. There's free food? Gotta try it! There's a monster terrorizing a village (and it's not the main quest)? Well, you can't just turn a blind eye to that! And you certainly can't ignore all these shiny rocks!
One time (as an experiment), everyone played a non-magic class for their DND characters. It did not go well.

Okay round 2 of STS questions then, dear!!
choose any of your OCs and tell us what class of dnd you think they'd be!
for Wip 1, which scene are you thinking as The Scene? What scene originated the rest of the story?
give us a sentence you would like to include in ATQH on the spot. Either something that happens to a character, a description, or just something poetic you think it'd fit
if you could go to any of your wips, which one would you choose and why?
show us the sentence you are more proud of!
have a good day/night!!!
(@ink-fireplace-coffee)
Happy STS, Carmen!!! <3
choose any of your OCs and tell us what class of dnd you think they'd be!
Hmm, I think I've talked about this for some of them before, but I'm not sure, and I have new OCs now, so here we go: - Raven(?) - Rogue - Ashlin - Rogue - Dorian - Wizard - Theo - Druid - Lila - Cleric - Alora - Bard (or maybe Paladin?) - <Prince> - Fighter or Paladin - Captain Blackthorne - Paladin - Duncan - Bard - Kristopher - Fighter
for Wip 1, which scene are you thinking as The Scene? What scene originated the rest of the story?
I'm not really sure!! For Unnamed WIP #1, I came up with the vague idea first. But I will say that the first scene I got really excited about and planned out was the scene where <Prince> has overused his magic. Second place would definitely be the scene when Alora get [redacted].
give us a sentence you would like to include in ATQH on the spot. Either something that happens to a character, a description, or just something poetic you think it'd fit
Well, I desperately need to rework the scene where the following line is supposed to go: "I've never been in love, but I know that I love you, because what else could love possibly feel like?"
if you could go to any of your wips, which one would you choose and why?
Probably ATQH. It's my first WIP and the one closest to my heart by far. Also, it's the one with the most developed worldbuilding. Not to mention that I could meet my OCs.
show us the sentence you are more proud of!
Well, other than the one I shared above, I might have to say this one: Fallon grabbed his wrist and looked him in the eyes. Her own burned with tears and anger, but her voice was steady as she spoke. “Don’t you dare say you aren’t worthy of love. Don’t you dare go wasting yourself like this. You are a good man, Kristopher Pelle, and you’d better damn well act like it, or I swear to you, you will be going home.” She dropped his wrist and walked away, leaving the Prince standing speechless behind her. It's from what might just be my favorite scene ever written, and it breaks me every time.
Thanks for the ask, Carmen!!

in the spirit of this d&d talk, let me suggest: the season 1 empires crew as 5e character classes!
pixlriffs. grave domain cleric. if we don’t do the dm joke -points- that man is a cleric. like. oh my god. that man is a cleric. he absolutely casts holy magic. the grave domain is also just absolutely perfect for this. they’re all about the balance between life and death, properly respecting the dead, and also just absolutely demolishing undead things. it just... this fits him so well.
scott. divine soul sorcerer. i went back and forth a LOT on this one. almost went paladin. however... he gives me more sorcerer vibes. he was born with this power, whether he likes it or not. it’s not entirely under his control. unlike, say, a cleric or paladin, it doesn’t come from worship or a code, it’s just... something innate to him. went divine soul because of the source of the power - he was born into aeor’s power.
jimmy. oath of the ancients paladin. okay so listen. jimmy just... gives me paladin vibes i have no better explanation. but we can make this work with the codfather thing, right? like, okay, listen, so what if the codfather head and what makes him worthy of it is his paladin oath? wouldn’t that be cool? i think that would be really cool, and looking at the various oath tenants i think oath of ancients fits jimmy best? idk i’m willing to change my mind on this one.
joel. college of creation bard. okay let me explain this one. i like... really associate empires!joel with building, and creation, and craftsmanship, but he doesn’t have artificer vibes. he has bard vibes. and this bardic college has this whole thing with a song of creation, used for creating things, and i just think that fits joel’s energy? the idea that he sings this song that changes the fabric of the universe, to make grand things - doesn’t that feel a bit joel to you too?
lizzie. arcane trickster rogue. i think she’d be a very face-y kind of rogue, one of the high charisma ones. this almost inevitably makes her and joel the faces of their party which i think is very funny. but also... the scam artist lizzie deserves to get to be a rogue, i think. arcane trickster is a nod to her own magical plotline, and the abilities that come from that. (if you don’t need that reference, swashbuckler works too.)
shrub. path of the totem warrior barbarian. look she gives me more totem warrior vibes than druid vibes, personally. her totem would be the wolf spirit, obviously, and she fights with ancestral power and a totem animal spirit that adds to her might. also i think she would do a MEAN barbarian rage. small gnome... big punch. (for the record i also considered ranger before ultimately going nah, barbarian fun.)
katherine. circle of dreams druid. the druid class that’s associated most with the feywild, the mysterious, the dreamy. it’s also a very heal-y sort of druid class, and i think that katherine strikes me as “would play someone who can heal”. don’t be fooled though especially at low levels druids can and will kick your ass.
pearl. battle master fighter. look - sometimes you just gotta have the guy who is really fucking good at hitting things five times a turn. and that’s pearl. simple, but so, so effective. i went fighter over barbarian because she never really struck me as having a ‘rage’? she struck me as the disciplined kind of martial class. also struck me as far more fighter-y than monk-y.
sausage. horizon walker ranger. this wasn’t just because we needed a ranger; rangers make good assassins if you aren’t the rogue (and the rogue is lizzie here), but also, horizon walkers are all about traveling between planes and visiting other world, as well as protecting this plane from the horrors found in others. later arc sausage stuff feels like that fits him well, honestly? also bubbles is his animal companion.
gem. order of scribes wizard. this one wasn’t hard i don’t think i have to justify it, other than “went order of scribes because that one’s the most wizard-school-y of all the wizard schools”.
fwip. artillerist artificer. i also don’t think i have to justify this one, other than “artillerist because make weapons go boom”.
joey. fiend warlock. on the one hand, i didn’t necessarily want to give him warlock just because of the xonorth thing. on the other hand... yeah i really wanted to give him warlock. i mean. come on now. come on. if you want him as a non-warlock though i think he also makes a good bard (college of glamour i think).

Okay, hear me out plz.
Tumblr media
I really like this blog’s memes and quotes so much that I need to make one and that’s cinnamon roll meme based on this blog’s quotes, because who wouldn’t like pure cinnamon rolls? UwU
Cleric and druid, the sweet servant of god and the tree hugger, end of question.
Artificer might look so kind and nice but some of their inventions aren’t so kind and nice. Ranger have a lot of pets, pets that could kill you.
Monk could kill you in one punch if you piss them off but all they want is peace and tranquility. Paladin might look scary and intimidating because of their armors and strict personalities but deep down they are just a big softie who want to keep everyone safe. Wizard just want someone smart to talk with since they’re surrounded by idiots(maybe except artificer)
Barbarian, fighter, blood hunter and warlock, what do we expect? Barbarian and fighter would just use you as a punching bag, blood hunter might use all your blood as weapon and warlock straight up sacrifice you to their patrons.
Bard, rogue and sorcerer. I don’t think we need explanation here.
(This is my first time sending submission if there’s problem then I’m sorry. TwT)

It’s our group’s first session back in Stradh after a few months in Theros. A grouping of some of our favorite bits. Some notes: I play a Kitsune Cleric with the Secret Seeker feat who hoards every bit of information, note, or letter we get. Our Half-orc Eldritch Knight has made some.. questionable actions so far, but it’s the most fun he’s had with a character for some time.
Half-elf Bard: I hold out the letter to Cleric. “Cleric, here.” Me, in character, after having zoned out IRL: “Huh. What?” Bard: “The.. letter you little knowledge goblin!” Me: “Oh. Yes. Gimme.” I tuck it away in my bag with the others.
——————————
Our Half-elf Bard and Human Fighter manage to sneak into a room with an evil Druid and a bunch of Twig Blights searching for something. After some debate, Bard: I pull out a personal item from my bag and hold it in my hands. Then I bolt out from cover and shout “I HAVE WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING FOR!” -rolls Persuasion- 13. Fighter: There’s no way she’s falling for that. Bard: There’s no way. DM: -rolls at starts laughing- Nat 1! (The rest of us start laughing and shouting disbelief she believed it) She turns to you and points “Get him!” and all the Twig Blights in the room go after you. Bard: I run out of the room!
—————————–
The Half-Orc EK accidentally killed the aforementioned Druid by destroying her legs with his maul.
—————————–
We’d captured a second evil Druid and put her inside a Zone of Truth spell to question her. The Fighter and EK also entered the ZoT. The Fighter passed his check but the Druid and EK failed. EK: If we’re done asking questions.. I crush her skull in my hands. DM: You said you’d let her live! Me: To be fair, Fighter said he’d let her live. EK hasn’t said a word since stepping into the spell zone. EK: I am adamant about crushing her head. DM: ..Okay.
—————————–
DM: You hear wood breaking and downstairs you can see the 30 Needle Blights from outside have broken in. EK: I jump down into the middle of them and use Thunder Clap. A few of us try to talk him out of this but he still does it, DM begrudgingly starts trying to figure out groups of enemies, rolls, saves, etc. DM: Okay. Well now the 15 Needle Blights you attacked are all focused on you and are going to attack. And from a door near the rest of the party another Druid comes out, and he’s holding a staff with a black aura. Second to last attack knocks the EK down, and then the last one eats one of his death saves. The rest of us, realizing our EK is going to die, “GET THE DRUID!!” We just barely manage to kill him and break the staff before the rest of the Blights took turn.
—————————–
DM: So those of you who are healing EK hear and turn to look outside and see the last Druid running away from the house. Me: I shoot a Guiding Bolt at him, I’m done. We got our information, we don’t need him alive. Bard: I shoot him with my crossbow after.

Okay, since I'm bored let's do Critical Role campaign 3 predictions! Possible spoilers of the first two campaign and of Exandria Unlimited ahead.
-Liam: cleric dwarf. Liam talked about the fact that he was playing through the principal classes of dnd (he played rogue, wizard, and fighter), so if he keeps up the tradition the only one missing is cleric. And I think that he may do something similar also with races (usually when talking about the archetipical party you heard about a human, an elf (in his case half-elf but it could still work), an hafling and a dwarf). Plus we haven't still seen any player playing a dwarf in the two main campaigns!
-Sam: wild sorcerer kenku. I'm not a dnd expert but for what I know this could possibly be two good choises for Sam. Also since is Liam taking the shots for him I think that making Sam playing a kenku could be an exellent way to mess with him and a very good challenge that he would appreciate (can you imagine him trying to imitate all the other charachers' accents during the first episodes?). And I'm sure that he would be able to change in his favour the eventual limits of the choice. We also now that Sam loves to bring chaos to the table, but he's also not afraid to commit to whatever lays on his way bad or good. And it's especially for this that i think that the randomness of the wild sorcerer could be very fun for him to explore. But also. If it happens that he's a dragonborn we can probabily expect one of his mid-campaign shocking revelations in which we discover that he's like the son of J'mon Sa Ord or something like that?
-Taliesin: warforged dunamancy wizard. I know we already had a wizard studying dunamancy, and maybe if there are other classes that feature dunamancy they could also be a choices, but I don't know them. Taliesin gives me the impression of be interested in trying new stuff (like in campaign two with the bloodhunter class) so he could be the right person of group to be still looking to explore dunamancy and the new addition of the warforged could bring to life a very interesting character both for his story and philosophy and also for the construction and abilities of it. Taliesin could give him the right amount of wierd not-totally human character out of his time.
-Marisha: artificier hafling (or gnoll or loxodon). Marisha can own a crafty and inventive character, she already showed us in the Darrington Brigade oneshot, and Hafling haven't been really chosen as characters' races until now (Exu escluded). But also I'm kinda hoping for a Marquet settings for campaign three, and I always had the impression that as a place it would have more of a middle-eastern/african vibe (I don't know, maybe that's just something that I want cause I think it could be very interesting). So that's why I included loxodon and gnoll between the choices, they could have the right vibe for that possible setting (especially loxodon, that has just became canon in Exandria).
-Ashley: rogue/bard tiefling. Heavy metal vibes perfect for her. I also took in consideration air genasi (I would pay for seeing her as a air genasi assassin with Fearne's vibes) but I tought that it could have some similarities with Yasha. She also seemed pretty impressed by the monk class and would do a perfect job as a wild sorcerer (we have seen how she likes to push the red buttons, like Travis).
-Laura: Paladin/Druid drow (or gnoll). We have seen her more roguish and charismatic side with Vex, and her chaotic and playful side with Jester, now I think we need to see her go feral. That would be a gift for the gays and the lesbians.
-Travis: bloodhunter/gunslinger firegenasi. I would love to see him play both of this class and seen that one wasn't very well explored and that with the passing of time guns could become more and more common, they would be both very possible choices in my opinion. The race is the one that brought me more doubt. I also thought about about humans, minotaurs and even firbolgs. But is the esthetic that convinced me. I mean can you imagine if Travis could make true his dream? Can you imagine werewolf on fucking FIRE????

Exandria Unlimited episode 1 thoughts:
-it's wierd not having sam doing some crazy shit for the ad
-holy fuck! That intro is impressive
-starting out with inspiration? Wow!
-halfling fighter for liam? Interesting choice...
-Lisa just informed me that the air ashari have something to do with campaign 1 but refuses to tell me what exactly...
-dorian storm... blue skinned bard... i'm guessing air-genasi (mostly because of the name "storm") maybe water-genasi or triton?
-druid for ashley? Not what i was expecting. Also are they using faun just as another name for satyr or did they use a homebrew race?
-so fearne is clearly circle of wildfire right? With the fire spirit/monkey and her "not gentle" magic... i won't speculate on subclasses for characters that haven't chosen one yet but as a druid she already has one at level 2 soooo...
-i'm already in love with fearne...
-dariax and dorian... i can already tell that i'm going to confuse those two names a lot
-he's sleeping on a roof? Must have been a wild night
-a dwarf sorcerer? Cool, i love sorcerers. Probably the only full caster class (besides cleric but that's different) i ever considered playing as. No idea what his subclass could be though...
-"i'm gonna wash myself and my spear" -mathew mercer 2021
-and a warlock... that's a pretty caster-heavy party.
-okay but what race is opal? Human? (Half-) Elf? Aasimar? Maybe even kalashtar? Everything's possible and i'm exited to find out.
-do not try to outdrink the dwarf... yep my character sirene learned that the hard way too
-so opal peed on his spear... Mystery solved everyone! time to end the episode...
-okay now i'm in love with opal too. Screaming for food instead of just looking is... honestly relatable.
-and now she's screaming for her grandma. This is great
-not even an hour in and we're having a literal pissing contest... i'm already sad there's only gonna be 8 episodes because i know i'm gonna need more
-bacon lips? Bacon Lips?!? BACON LIPS?!?!? please tell me that's not a real thing
-matt just listing of city-names... in the world that he literally created 😆 he could just make them up on the spot and say they exist
-they're all just missing a week? Wow!
-time is a weird soup. I feel like essek would agree.
-"Ooh!" Let's file that under: 'things you don't want to hear from your DM after you make a saving throw'
-i know he said it's just decoration but wouldn't it be funny if that thing actually was a working compass and dariax just continually wanders north?
-holy shit! Dariax has just NO impulse control. I think matt is enjoying this
-the way ashley said 'insight check'. Fearne is just the cutest
-yep, just a gardener...
-oh my god! Now opal is screaming for the city guards.
-and now she's asking if they actually want the city guard to come... kinda late for that
-thordaks attack... this is now the third time that Lisa literally jumped up from the couch with joy and i have no idea why. I feel like i should watch campaign 1...
-one and a half hours in and the party decided to become criminals... i'm more and more convinced this is just a normal d&d campaign but as a speed-run
-wow, it kinda took me a second to realise that they're actually all siting at a table together in the uk'otoa bit
-orym is babysitting? Yeah that seems accurate
-common and elvish. So that rules out kalashtar and aasimar...
-yeah if you don't want people to bother you just carry around stuff and act like it's important to carry that stuff
-aand dariax has shit on his face... again.
-what the hell was that accent, fearne?
-he's got Bless? Divine soul sorcerer?
-wait do the players not know each others class? That sounds... potentially dangerous but admittedly also very fun
-"why are we all idiots?"🤣
-darkvision, blindsight and tremorsense?!? What the hell?!?
-well, good news is: they found the Crew...
-Yeah dariax. Put this obviously evil crown on. What's the worst that could happen?
-have you ever had such a bad day that when someone wiped blood on your shoulder your only thought was: 'Well at least it's not shit'?
-"Not infernal but you recognize the lettering" so i assume it's abyssal
-or just comic sans that's even more obviously evil
-500 PLATINUM!!!!!
-oh great now dorian is vomiting ichor
-chaotic good: vomit. Neutral good: nearly vomit. Chaotic neutral: nothing. So this thing doesn't like good alligned characters
-time is a sandwich now? I thought it was a weird soup
-ankheg? At level 2? Wow aabria wasn't lying when she said she wasn't afraid to kill them.
-"It's in a cage" Yeah sure but it can still spit acid and honestly i'm surprised it hasn't already
-no darkvision so yeah opal is a human
-illusory script... sharpie... Really what's the difference?
-"Let's make ourselves a little more suspicious" wow this episode is just full of great quotes
-initiative!!!
-first blood! Opal just atomized that dude
-wait so dariax has the crown in a papoose... i feel like i've seen something like that before on a different d&d show...
-okay opal is a hexblade warlock
-holy shit opal! That was brutal
-and matt gets the hdywtdt!
-opal how could you lie to your friends like that?!?
-could someone please heal dariax?!? That man is clearly suffering
-wait are they now stealing from poska?
-obliterating 4 dudes in less than a minute and then they take like half an hour to get through a door
-40 pounds of residuum? So that's another 20000 gold. Just to check: is the goal of this to accumulate so much money that it will colapse the economy, rendering all currency worthless?
-now i kinda want them to just randomly find a Baby somewhere
-we get post-credit scenes?
final thoughts: i really liked this episode and already can’t wait for the next. my favourite character so far are (perhaps unsurprisingly) fearne and opal. and while i don’t like dorian and orym as much that’s mostly because i’m just not a big fan of bards and fighters but i’m sure they will grow on me. Aabria’s DMing style (while substantially different from matts) is really fun and honestly it was barely noticable that Aimee and robbie were new to the game. Seeing Matt as a player was just great.

Have a great week, E is out!
Summary:  Turns out Oliver is a part of the Choir, a secret organization that operates within the Underground. Something big is happening tonight and It's up to Oliver and his allies to ensure it does not. However, the bard has to figure out what's going on before anything else.
-----
Oliver had been many things in the 18 years of his begrudging existence: An orphan, a thief, a con-kid, hopelessly in love, a scout, fry cook that one week and an aspiring minstrel. Many masks and different roles to survive each new day.
The one he took a quiet pride in was being a member of the Choir, a secret organization whose goal was to keep the Underground free from malicious and devious intent.
Every society had their dark, treacherous shadows where evil did its business (Oliver assumed. He only really ever lived in the Underground but you know universal constants and such.) The Choir’s purpose was to ensure those plans never came to fruition.
Rather than being an openly known identity, the Choir was more a loose collection of independent agents operating under secrecy. The organization employed any and everyone who was willing to fight for the cause, each in their own way: Merchants passed coded information, tavernkeepers offered safe havens, those with some level of magical proficiency gathered to study abnormal phenomenon. Fighters fought, clerics healed with lords and ladies used their influence for the greater good.
Sometimes, as is the case now, one individual was too limited for what was required of the organization’s purpose. In these rare moments, agents were granted permission to request help, often leaving hidden messages and imagery for other wandering members to respond to.
That’s what brought Oliver here to this dark alley in the middle of the night: When he first arrived to the capital, he caught sight of the coded symbol asking for any Choir member to lend their skill set to a mission tonight. No details added but that was par for the course.
Terri was the first to recover, her slivers eyes wide with wonder “A soprano? No joke?!Flora, he’s like you!”
Terri was tall, taller than anyone else here. She wore a red vest with torn off sleeves, probably because her muscles were too thick to actually allow them to exist in the first place. Her long jet black hair was elegantly tied into braids with her dark blue leggings tucked into thick hiking boots.
Flora pursed her lips thoughtfully, irises of lavender giving Oliver a curious look “A fellow magic user? Interesting. Wizard?”
“Bard” Oliver corrected “You?”
“Druid.” Flora spoke before drifting into an uncomfortable silence. Oliver suspected she wasn’t impressed by his response.
Flora seemed unassuming but Oliver knew better than to be lured in by appearances: Long silvery hair with petals of green and yellow flowers scattered within. She wore a white blouse with splotches of brown dirt and a long green skirt. Her feet were bare and free to be soiled by the floor.
Terri rushed over to the petrified Tyrell, dragging him into a bone crunching hug “Tyrell here is a baritone like me!”
Tyrell, the youngest beside Oliver, shifted his brown eyes away from anyone’s gaze. He wore rather well kept clothes: A tunic of purple tucked under a leather vest, his leggings were dark gray that blended fairly well in the darkness. His footwear seemed a little too fancy to be workman’s shoes.
“Fighters” Oliver nodded in understanding “Always useful. And you mysterious stranger in the darkness?”
The cloaked figure had pulled back deeper into the shadows, red eyes gleaming in the shades of night. They were trying to hard to hide their appearance but Oliver caught sight of a smooth featureless bronze face. Metallic armor of a matching color and sheen covered the rest of their body, an automaton it seems.
“You may call me Sel. I’m a tenor.” the figure responded, their voice tinged with scratchy static.
“You are going very useful. Lockpicking?”
Sel shrugged casually “Among other less savory techniques. As per usual for tenors.”
Oliver nodded “Okay, fill me in.”
Flora took a step forward, pulling a letter out of her pocket as she did so “Are you aware of one Reiner Brambleoak?”
“Oh fucking hell” Oliver rubbed his eyes tiredly “Him again? What’s he planning this time: Gonna burn an orphanage? Or maybe sell moldy food to the poor? Wait, I know!” Oliver snapped his finger “He’s going to be a terrible piece of shit.”
“Right on the money!” Terri growled.
Sel let out a mechanical click “He is planning to tear down several homes in West Haven.”
Oliver narrowed his eyes “I thought it was illegal to tear down homes in that area?”
“Not if the owners signed them over.” Flora explained “Then he would have the authority to do whatever he wished with them.”
“Let me guess, he tricked them?”
Terri flexed her muscles angrily “His representatives would change languages and double talk when they spoke to the poor folks. Most hadn’t the slightest idea what was going on and the orc thugs his people brought didn’t exactly make them feel warm and safe.”
“So.” Oliver stretched his arms “He’s strong armed his way into property, going to evict helpless folks onto the street and probably fill them with his own thugs to get the rest of the neighborhood to fall in line.”
“Unless we stop him.” Sel spoke with righteous fury.
“Tonight.” Oliver chimed in “Throwing another party?”
“You are good.” Tyrell whistled.
Oliver gave a playful wink “Naturally. What’s the plan?”
Flora reached into her pack and handed Oliver a letter: it was written in such a fancy hand he swore he was getting a headache just looking at it.
“One for each of us.” Flora explained, distributing the rest to the others “A fellow Choir member secured these tonight’s mission.”
“Helpful. Alright here’s the plan….”
“Wait” Flora interrupted “Who said you are in charge bard?”
“Me” Oliver countered with a grin “Because I’ve been to these types of festivities. Have any of you?”
Flora opened her mouth then promptly closed it, irritation in her glance. Tyrell gave a sheepish but unhelpful smile, Sel remained silent while Terri gave a thoughtful scratch of her chin.
“Thought so.” Oliver tried to keep the smugness out of his voice “Look we just need to work together for tonight.”
“Agreed.” Flora spoke with a softness that did not match her glare.
Sel inched closer to the group “What is the plan Oliver?”
“Where’s the party? Merchant Ward? I assume he’s using his office to host it.”
“Correct” Sel confirmed “His office has been chosen as the venue. He claims to be throwing the party as some sort of fundraiser for a charity that is no doubt a front for his illegal operations.”
Terri huffed, crossing her arms furiously “Probably making some more deals to trick people out of their hard earn money.”
“Without a doubt” Oliver agreed “But without any hard proof, we’re not taking him down tonight. Our mission is to ensure those contracts he forced people to sign mysteriously disappear.”
“Will that actually stop him?” Tyrell frowned unhappily “What’s stop him from forging new ones? Or just bullying people again?”
“He can’t forge new ones” Oliver explained carefully “They’re a special type of document only found here in Haven’s Nest. You can only get them from city hall and they’re magically enchanted to be untamperable with. He’ll need to get the ones he has to city hall on open court day which I assume is soon.”
“Indeed. Tomorrow in fact.”
Oliver continued on “So since open court day is the only day any major changes are allowed to be introduced to the city, if we grab them he’ll have to wait a month for another chance of snatching up that land. He’ll no doubt try to bully the folks again but now that they know what he’s up to, hopefully they’ll won’t be as easily pressured and if a few rough looking folks who can take punches and give them back start hanging around the neighborhood when his goons come knocking again…”
“They’re gonna be less eager” Terri cracked her knuckles cheerfully, already savoring the feel of bruised skin and broken bones that would bless her hands.
Oliver caught Tyrell’s eyes “One problem at a time. If you look at the mountain, you’re going to get scared.”
Tyrell nodded timidly in agreement.
“So.” Sel’s voice crackled with curiosity “What is the plan bard?”
Oliver closed his eyes, mentally mapping out the Brambleoak bank: three stories of corrupted, immoral finance who preyed on the helpless and lost. He could still see the faded green hue and cracked paint of the building in his mind’s eye. The ground floor would no doubt be where the bulk of the party would be taking place: a large space with an elevated stage normally reserved for long winded speeches could easily repurposed for a band or some sort of entertainment. His guests would range from any and everyone with any amount of influence or wealth. The second floor were the offices of his lecherous employees while his office took up the entirety of the third floor.
“Alright” Oliver spoke after a moment “I have a good idea what to expect. We’re going to break up into two teams.”
Everyone stared him expectedly.
Oliver gestured to Terri and Tyrell “You two are going to hang out at the bar across the street: The Stinkeye. Charming place, ran by a former pirate captain. Sunday is sea shanty night I think."
“Whoa, wait a minute” Terri grumbled unhappily “I am not letting Flora go into that place without me! It’s enemy turf and I don’t feel comfortable with the idea."
Flora took Terri’s hand within her own “Agreed sweetie.”
“Look this isn’t exactly a fist loaded, knives out situation. Any sort of brawling inside will be dealt with swiftly and painfully. Brambleoak doesn’t like anything scaring away the prey and causing a scene inside won’t accomplish anything. Outside, however.”
Terri’s eyes knowingly sparkled, Tyrell just looked dumbfounded.
Oliver gestured with his hand, muttering a phrase under his breath as magic formed around his hand in a golden light. A small image appeared in his palm: A heavily scarred elf with ashy blonde hair, one eye a brilliant forest green the other dull and cloudy. He wore an elegant officer’s uniform, dark green with various medals pinned to his chest with a long flowing red cape that trailed behind.
Oliver opened mouth to speak but Terri’s low snarl beat him to the punch.
“Lea Foot.”
“Acquaintance I guess?””
Flora nodded, gently squeezing Terri’s hand to get her to calm down “Lea has been a constant thorn in our sides. I believe he suspects we are a part of some greater organization. He has never seen us but he sends his underlings to bully us.”
“So I don’t need to explain his whole mercenaries for hire deal. Been exclusive to Brambleoak for a while now.”
“Can I punch him?” Terri murmured darkly.
“Yes, can she?” Flora chimed in, unable to keep the plead out of her voice.
Oliver shook his head “Maybe but we’ll see. He’s gotta show up at some point but I doubt he’ll be there right at the start. Likes to push old people around, probably eat a child or two before ‘working.’ Your job is to keep him distracted at all costs. He’s a sick man that likes to watch a good fight and the longer he’s out there, the better chance we’ll have.”
Sel tilted their head quizzically “Why is it important to keep him outside?”
“Basically” Oliver cracked his fingers “He’s very perceptive and the person most likely to catch our plan in action. His crew is made up of a nobodies with a perchance for cruelty and a thirst for violence but Lea is an old hand. Keeping himself outside is the best chance for success and if you guys accidentally get too close and managed to stray a hit his way…”
Terri chuckled manically the idea. Tyrell just looked sick.
“Meanwhile Flora, Sel and I will be inside. We’ll be looking for a chance to get Sel into the stairway so he can break into Brambleoak’s office. Without any sort of information, there’s no point to flesh out a full plan but we’ll make it up as we go. It’s a giant party of people who think they’re special. Shouldn’t be too hard to cause some drama and distractions.”
Flora said silent for a moment before speaking up “It’s not a lot to work with but admittedly better than anything I would’ve come up with.”
“Agreed.” Sel added “Without proper intel, it would be pointless to attempt to formulate any sort of long term plan. This works best to our strengths. Wait and create an opportunity,”
“That’s on us.” Oliver cut in “Your job is to get in and out. Preferably without being seen but who knows what will happen.”
The group, previously lost and anxious, glowed with renew sense of purpose and determination: 10 minutes ago they had no plan and now they were ready to do what they signed up for.
“Get ready team” Oliver gestured about “We leave in five.”
Everyone broke away to prepare for the mission: Terri cracked every bone in her body, ready for any brawl she would start. Sel slunk back into the shadows and remained still among the darkness. Tyrell held leaned unevenly against the brick building nearby, trying to steady his breathing.
Flora, on the other hand, approached Oliver, her voice dropping to a whisper.
“Oliver.”
“Flora.”
“I have a question for you.”
Oliver was confused “I’m not sure what about but go ahead.”
Flora pursed her lips “You were coming from West End, delivering a package to a Choir member out there correct?”
“Yeeeeees.” Oliver unsure where this was going “The old man. Lady Rozalin said it was the upmost importance.”
Flora bit her cheek nervously “Before you left, did you see him?”
His stomach turned cold as he remembered how uneasy he felt the day he left with Archie and Abigail, the chill that ran down his spine “No, why?”
“We haven’t been able to contact him. He is not responding to our wizards long range message spells. We’re…..worried.”
Oliver could feel his skin crawl with anxiety, his pulse raced as a horrible realization dawned on him.
“He’s missing.” Oliver spoke what Flora did not.
She nodded in response “As a high ranking member, he is important to our cause and since you were the last person to see him, the higher ups were wondering if anything suspicious happened the last day you spoke with him.”
Oliver remembered it clearly: The free money, rushing them out the door, his ‘tiredness.’ There was no such thing as free money in his mentor’s eyes and Roland was never known for pushing a guest out of his house or being tired in the middle of the day. He was attempting to get them to leave to prevent something from happening.
“He was acting weird.” Oliver admitted “At the time I found it strange but he gave me little room to argue. Now I’m wishing I had.”
Flora’s face was indifferent but Oliver could hear the sincerity in her voice “I’m sorry to be the one to tell you this. If you need a moment…”
“No” Oliver cut her off quickly “I’m good. We have a mission to do and we need to focus on that now. Afterwards we can talk about finding out what happened to the old man.”
Flora gave a simple nod before wandering over to Terri’s side, lightly kissing her cheek with affection.
Oliver took a deep calming breath: There was no point to let his mind wander, to worry about things out of his control. Even if he wanted to do something, he was needed here and now. Besides the Choir would investigate Roland’s disappearance and there were agents far more experienced than he about.
He would leave it up to them. For the moment he needed to balance out the universe and root out the evil that laid in the shadows.

Plane Shift: The Boiling Isles, Brief Character Portfolio
Hello all, today I am going to go into some measure of detail for the characters in this crossover between the Owl House and Dungeons and Dragons 5e. Everybody clap your hands!!
Now, to give a little heads up, the way this portfolio is set up is based on the following Format:
Character Name
Defining Quote/Motto
Alignment Inclinations
Favored Classes/Known Classes
Brief Profile
Okay, now that the format is listed, time to get into the nitty gritty!
Luz Noceda
“Limits? What are those!”
Chaotic Good/Neutral Good
Primary Class: Wizard, Subclass: Order of Scribes. Secondary Class: Artificer, Subclass: Battle Smith. Tertiary Classes: Paladin, Rogue, and Bard.
The young daughter of the famed Plane Warden and Cleric, Camila Noceda, Luz has always had her head in the clouds, longing for adventure and friendship. Upon entering the Adventurer’s Academy, she proceeded to rock the very foundation of Plana and adventuring by choosing not one, not two, but FIVE classes to train in! She would’ve tried them all, but was talked out of it when they professors made it clear it would be physically impossible for her to take them all, and that the number she had selected would push her to greatest of limits. Luz lives life without limits or regret, and while her extremely impulsive nature has resulted in a rather poor social life, she is greatly beloved among the street dwellers and lower ranks of local organizations and groups of her home.
Amity Blight
“Perfection is impossible. That’s why we seek it.”
Lawful Good/Neutral Good
Primary Class: Warlock, Subclass: Undetermined. Secondary Class: Artificer.
The youngest child of the affluent Blight Family, recently displaced from her home dimension, Amity holds herself to a strict standard of decorum. Her methodical nature, dedication to study, and respect for authority has made her a divisive figure within the Adventurer’s Academy, as while her new instructors find her dedication admirable, they also worry it will disallow her from living a healthy and happy life. Amity regularly runs afoul of Luz, but the human girl’s friendly nature, genuine endearment, and appreciation for magic and learning has served as a bonding bridge between the two. Hints of something deeper within her heart grow clearer all the while.
Willow Park
“Nature is a blessing to us all. We have a duty to care for it, and each other.”
Neutral Good/Chaotic Good
Primary Class: Druid, Subclass: Undetermined. Secondary Class: Barbarian.
The only child of the Park family, Willow is a quiet, gentle child all around, but within her lurks a frightening power over nature itself that constantly threatens to break free if not for her ironclad self-control, and kind nature. Once friends with Amity Blight, circumstances forced a rift between them, and she holds that pain as a torch within her heart, always wary of letting it burn her down to nothing but unwilling to let go. Willow’s incredible connection with Plants has made her a rare talent among the Druid classes, and she is constantly called to demonstrate her power before her new peers, much to her delight.
Augustus “Gus” Porter
“So much to learn! So much to experience!”
Neutral Good/Chaotic Good
Primary Class: Wizard, Subclass: Undetermined. Secondary Class: Bard.
A young prodigy who skipped several grades in his home dimension, Gus is still an outstanding figure when it comes to both technical skill and application of magic. Excitable, kind if somewhat insensitive on occasion, and with a fierce need to prove himself, Gus often finds himself in difficult situations, both socially and dangerously, but he never allows it to affect his optimism. He’s rapidly built a bond with Luz over their shared passion and energy, not to mention his excitement over befriending “an actual real-life human!”
Boscha Triplet
“I saved the day! Why? Because I’m a Star of Course!”
Lawful Neutral
Primary Class: Monk, Subclass: Undetermined. Secondary Class: Artificer.
An athletic star with an incredible ego, Boscha is by all accounts an unpleasant individual, yet since coming to Plana, she’s gradually shown signs of a more vulnerable personality, one she vehemently denies and buries within herself, much to the chagrin of others. While she initially chose Monk as a joke, thinking it of a blow-off course or something similar, the relentless physical training, and the brutally humiliating smackdown dealt on her first day have served to motivate her to continue and succeed in the Class she chose, if only out of pure spite. The philosophical aspects of Monk training seem to go over her head, yet her friends and foes alike have noted her occasionally seem to verge on saying something mean or crude, only to stop herself and stare off in contemplation.
Skara Levine
“Just go with the rhythm. Everything will work out, right?”
Lawful Neutral
Primary Class: Bard, Subclass: Undetermined. Secondary Class: Sorcerer.
A young girl who lived at the top, Skara had many halmarks of being a potential problem child, often being easily lead and influenced by those deemed her friends, Skara is typically very sweet and outgoing, but for all her social butterfly moments, they are undercut by her poor interpersonal skills, frequently stumbling onto sensitive topics without any inclination she understood why she shouldn’t bring them up. She is a paradox, being both kind and cruel, nice and mean, in equal measures, the parallel nature of her behavior often befuddles those around her. She’s recently begun stating that she hears things suddenly when no one is around.
Emira Blight
“Don’t worry, I can handle this on my own.”
Chaotic Good/Chaotic Neutral
Primary Class: Rogue, Subclass: Undetermined. Secondary Class: Fighter.
The oldest daughter of the Blight family, Emira is a mischievous girl with a fondness for mayhem. Nonetheless, she cares for her family and friends, even if her methods occasionally leave much to be desired. Of the Blight Children, Emira is the most independent, often resentful of any perceived restrictions, but calm enough to find workarounds rather than lash out. She frequently professes that looks forward to the day she can live her own life, and enjoys teasing her sister along with her brother.
Edric Blight
“We got this, we just got to stick together.”
Chaotic Good/Chaotic Neutral
Primary Class: Rogue, Subclass: Undetermined. Secondary Class: Bard.
The lone son of the Blight family, Edric is Emira’s twin, and is in many ways both her equal and her mirror. While sharing her sense of mischief and love of tricks, Edric is far more flighty and whimsical, often hyper-fixating on animals and whatever shiny thing catches his eye, often projecting a childish air about him. He is the most insecure of the Blight siblings, though he hides it well, and dreads the idea of being alone, particularly from his twin.
Viney Arkswood
“Animals are our friends. They have just as much capacity for good as we do.”
Chaotic Good
Primary Class: Ranger, Subclass: Undetermined. Secondary Class: Druid.
One of three students sentenced to the Detention Track for their mixing of magical disciplines, Viney has a caring heart and a love of people and animals that manifested in a rather strange way, in that she attempted, and technically succeeded, in training her pet griffin to be a nursing assistant. Viney is genuinely unsure if she wishes to return, with the lone benefit in her mind being to see her parents again.
Jerbo Underslack
“I might be nervous, but that doesn’t make me incompetent.”
Chaotic Good/Chaotic Neutral
Primary Class: Cleric, Subclass: Nature Domain. Secondary Class: Druid.
One of the three Detention Track students, Jerbo’s love of plants and his fondness for the idea of loyal aides combined in his creation of plant monsters that trashed the gardens of his school. Jerbo is the most suspicious and leery of his friends, often being slow to trust and even slower to act, he nonetheless is a kind soul, and used his admittance into the Adventurer’s Academy to try and kind some new meaning in his life.
Barcus Howsberry
“Your soul glimmers with the joy of a newfound toy in the arms of a lonely child.”
Chaotic Good
Primary Class: Wizard, Subclass: Undetermined. Secondary Class: Artificer.
Last and oddest of the three Detention Track students, Barcus’ unusual body and strange speech make him truly bizarre, and his cryptic demeanor doesn’t help. Barcus enjoys both the art of Potions and Prediction, and frequently seeks to join the two. Upon arrival, and confirmation that yes he is a sapient being, Barcus was checked by Camila, and was determined to have a hereditary curse bound to his being, and when offered to have it removed, his comfort with his form initially made him refuse, only to be told that the speech impediment and oddness of his form would destroy any chance of him being able to integrate into society, causing him to compromise and have the curse suppressed instead.
Camila Noceda
“To bring goodness and love in this world means I can rest easy, knowing I left it in the hands of those I love.”
Lawful Good
Primary Class: Cleric, Subclass: Life Domain. Secondary Class: None.
Mother of Luz Noceda, Camila is the current Plane Warden of Plana, being entrusted with guarding the city from extraplanar threats and to help guide and aid those lost between realms. Camila is a loving soul, but the strain of her job has worn on her over the years, with the sole reprieve being her precious daughter. Camila often adopts a motherly role for the displaced children now in her care, offering both advice when needed, and discipline as necessary. Camila also frequently aids and offers advice to the adults now sharing her living space, hoping to help them adjust to their situation.
Edalyn Clawthorne
“I’m the most powerful witch in the Isles, but it never meant a thing until I found someone to use that power for.”
Chaotic Good
Primary Class: Sorcerer, Subclass: Undetermined. Secondary Class: Wizard.
Fiercest Wild Witch to grace the Boiling Isles since Belos’ ascension, Eda marches to the beat of her own drum, no exceptions, but she still holds a beautiful heart for those she cares for, and people in general, no matter how much she denies it. Eda was genuinely shocked to learn that Camila could, and did, heal her curse, effectively if not easily, and feels a deep sense of obligation towards the woman a a result, not to mention her all around soft spot for Camila’s daughter. Eda genuinely has no desire to return to the Isles at this point, beyond maybe a chance to reconcile with her mother and retrieve Hooty and all her stuff.
Lilith Clawthorne
“I am far from perfect, and have made many mistakes. This is the least I can do.”
Lawful Good/Lawful Neutral
Primary Class: Paladin, Subclass: Undetermined. Secondary Class: Wizard.
Lilith Clawthorne, elder sister to Eda, means well, but is both painfully naive and far too trusting for one her age, as well as disturbingly childish and immature. For all that though, Lilith holds a good heart and thrives in a structured and ordered environment and system. When she received the knowledge that Eda’s curse had been cured, Lilith was nearly left catatonic, as the curing of Eda rendered all her efforts meaningless and her life without true purpose. When Eda bluntly stated that even with her curse cured she will NEVER join a coven, Lilith forced herself to accept it, no matter how much it hurt. Since that day, Lilith has attempted to find a new direction in life, and to help others as best she can.
Odalia Blight
“Like it or not, one’s word is their bond.”
Lawful Neutral/Lawful Evil
Primary Class: Wizard, Subclass: Undetermined. Secondary Class: Bard.
Matriarch of the Blight family, and a near-Karen level individual, Odalia is both incredibly goal-oriented and driven by a desire to succeed. Domineering and controlling, Odalia exerts a highly unhealthy and toxic level of influence over her childrens’ lives, though she does truly love them. Odalia enjoys having the upper hand, and will do anything to allow her children and family to not only survive but thrive, and is very much fond of disproportionate retribution against her enemies.
Alador Blight
“This could prove interesting.”
Lawful Neutral/Lawful Evil
Primary Class: Artificer, Subclass: Undetermined. Secondary Class: Rogue.
Patriarch of the Blight family, and all around bizarre individual, Alador cares for little in his life aside from his inventions, his wife, and his children, in that order. Often dazed and easily distracted, Alador is highly curious and constantly seeks new inspiration for his devices and creations, no matter how dangerous the circumstances. He cares little for his wife’s antics and schemes, but in no way does he find them unacceptable, he often acts as a stabilizing influence upon her, and is perfectly fine with calling her out on her behavior when she genuinely goes too far.
Hieronymus Bump
“Dedication and Focus are important, but true passion and joy for what you do makes all the difference.”
Neutral Good/Lawful Good
Primary Class: Wizard, Subclass: Undetermined. Secondary Class: None.
Principal to the famed, some would say infamous, Hexside School of Magic and Demonics, Principal Bump loves to teach and help others learn, and is perfectly willing to play the system to ensure he can do so. While he genuinely loves all his students and wishes them to succeed, he is willing to admit he is old-fashioned to a certain extent and can have trouble keeping his views on a topic unbiased, and can occasionally act in unethical ways if it means finding a solution to a problem, though he does not enjoy such measures. He aids Camila in searching for a way to return home for him and his fellows, and often acts as a reasonable authority figure for the students who came with them.

the votes for travis’ character’s race are incredibly spread out right now, with only human and aasimar standing out amongst the sea of ‘1 votes’. interestingly, both of these races are human/human-adjacent. (what do you guys know that i don’t? lmao)
(races at 1 vote: tortle, tiefling, shifter, halfling, genasi, elf, dragonborn, changeling)
laura
class:
Tumblr media
REALLY interesting spread - everyone seems to have focused on a lot smaller ratio of classes here. monk and bard are tied for 1st with 3 votes each, followed closely by another 3-way tie - this time between wizard, warlock, and barbarian, each coming in at 2 votes. excited to see how this develops, and if we’ll get an outstanding lead here.
(classes with 1 vote: artificer, sorcerer)
race:
Tumblr media
another large spread with no real favorite here. genasi and tabaxi are tied for 1st with 2 votes each, but the rest of the responses are spread across the board.
(races with 1 vote: elf, fairy, firbolg, gnome, halfling, hobgoblin, hollow one, leonin, tortle, yuan-ti)
taliesin
class:
Tumblr media
love this for him (and me). a nice, clean favorite. we’ve got the zesty rogue coming in at 1st place with a staggering 5 votes, followed by paladin at 3 votes, and at 2 votes each: a tie between warlock and druid.
(classes at 1 vote: sorcerer, bard)
race:
Tumblr media
a lot more muddy here, but currently we have dwarf, hexblood, and tabaxi coming in at 1st place with 2 votes each.
(races with 1 vote: changeling, dwarf, elf, hollow one, owlfolk, reborn, warforged, yuan-ti)
ashley
class:
Tumblr media
we got some wildly different responses for this one. so currently in 1st place we have our first ranked 4-way tie, between paladin, wizard, bard, monk. each received 2 votes.
(classes with 1 vote: artificer, cleric, fighter, rogue, sorcerer, warlock)
race:
Tumblr media
we got our classics in here at the top. half-elf and elf are tied for 1st with 3 votes each, followed closely by genasi and human with 2 votes each.
(races with 1 vote: aarakocra, changeling, tabaxi, tiefling)
sam
class:
Tumblr media
now onto what people think that liam has chosen for sam. wizard is the current lead, with 4 votes. paladin and cleric are tied for 2nd with 3 votes each, and druid is bringing up the rear of the rankings, with 2 votes.
(classes with 1 vote: sorcerer, monk)
race:
Tumblr media
@ the people who voted minotaur: you’re the only people i respect in this house.
anyway, we have a 3-way tie for 1st between warforged, kenku, and minotaur - each totaling 2 votes.
(races with 1 vote: goliath, dwarf, half-orc, half-elf, dragonborn, human, loxodon, tabaxi)
liam
class:
Tumblr media
we got a nice spread here, with cleric coming in 1st at 4 votes, followed by artificer at 3 notes. druid is currently in 3rd, with 2 votes.
(classes with 1 vote: bard, blood hunter, fighter, monk, paladin)
race:
Tumblr media
an overwhelming lead for tiefling right now, coming in 1st with 5 votes. elf trails behind with 2 votes, however it’s pretty clear which race is the prediction favorite.
(races with 1 vote: dhampir, gnome, hollow one, leonin, warforged, reborn, tabaxi)
so TL;DR, it’s still looking pretty spread out - especially since we’re so early on in the draw. if you’ve reached the end of this and you’re still reading: thanks!! this was mainly for me and my a couple of friends, but i love seeing what other fans are thinking.
i’m definitely going to update this as i get more responses, so stay tuned for further developments!

Voltron Part 27
It sure is ironic, that in the season wrap-up of S5 I mentioned that I loved the constant interaction. And then it only got like, 4 notes. ANYWAYS. Season 6, episodes 3+4:
This looks very much like the D&D episode I heard about
Why does this show put it’s cute slice of life-episodes always at the worst possible time? Voltron on Ice after Furry’s death, and now this after the whole situation with Keith
Imma predict what everyone’s class is going to be: Hunk= Artificier/Fighter. Pidge= Ranger/Wizard. Allura= Cleric/Druid. Lotor= Warlock/Rogue. Shiro= Paladin Lance= Bard. Matt= Monk/Sorcerer
No, I won’t take criticism
Keith would probably either be a Rogue or a Monk
Moustache man is either the biggest Mary Sue possible. Or just some random dude who isn’t even a D&D class. Both extremes are possible
Okay. Pidge as a Barbarian is also really good
Moustache man. No matter what form you take, you’re gorgeous
Of course they meet in a bar. You can’t get more D&D than that
Shiro’s living vigorously through his characters edgy backstory
Also his “Old Man” behaviour is showing. He is a paladin, he was a paladin. He’s going to keep being a paladin. And NO! He’s not getting out of that chair
And he’s the only one who didn’t come up with a fun fantasy name
Lance, don’t lie. You’d totally be into this
Everybody, cheer! Space daddy recognises that he deserves a break
Oh god... Lance is more of a furry now than Furry herself ever was
Allura with her glowing arrow is really living out this whole “Improvise. Adept. Overcome” thing
It’s a fun episode. But again; Bad Timing
Welp, Shiro’s coming Allura's ~thing~. Now he’s dead! Again
And now his “twin brother” is taking over
Knowing that there was a clone-theory going round. This could be foreshadowing. And I don’t like it
That shot of Shiro’s ass tho...
Oh! It’s time for some last minute Allurance moment
You go Shiro! Keep on being a paladin
Really, really fun episode. Love it
.-•-°-•-.-•-°-•-.-•-°-•-.-~☆
Are Lotor and Allura supposed to mirror Zarkon and space witch? Or am I just overthinking things again?
Lotor’s gonna come out of this Quintessence-field 300% more evil
Keith’s back!
And Lance immediatly realizes that he somehow changed! The Klance shippers probably had a field-day with that
Keith, you haven’t seen your friends for 2 fucking years. Give them a hug!
(Also thanks to all the people who cleared up that the 2 years only went by for Keith. Which, I guess makes it better?)
I called it!!! Lotor is an evil bitch!
Is this supposed to be the new B-Team? Keith, Krolia, Sailor Moon and space wolf?
“Keith told me all about you” YES! Sheith!
Honey, Romelle. I don’t care about your name. You’re Sailor Moon
I mean... Coran has been moustache man since day 1. And I don’t even know the real names of the girlsquad
You'll stay Sailor Moon
Alteans worshipping Lotor sure explains his ego...
I’m getting “Human Zoo” à la Steven Universe vibes from this whole thing
You know what? Sailor Moon. I kinda like you
Lotor using people as an energy source. I’ve said it a million times before and now it’s true. That bitch is E-V-I-L
Lotura kiss! Lotura kiss! God, her hearts gonna be SO broken
YAAASS! Allura destroy that asshole!
Okay, nice. Space witch is not only able to use Shiro as spyware, but can also control him (to some degree)
That at least explains all his bad decisions the last few seasons
Also, am I stupid? Or did his weapon-thingy just turn into a boomerang?
Paladin Keith is back!
Noooooooo!!!!..... Why did Shiro have to ignore Keith’s call?
I’m like genuinely upset.... Damn fictional characters breaking my heart...
Seriously. This scene made me sadder than the entirety of Sailor Moon’s backstory

Predictions for classes played by the cast next campaign/what I’d like them to play
Sam- Monk, Subclass unknown
don’t know the subclass but the entire campaign he’s been shocked everytime Marisha/Beau does something cool as a monk since she revealed how high her ac was at a low level and now he just assumes that monks can do anything.  Even in the darrington brigade oneshot he declared in the immortal book of Taryon Darrington that monks were overpowered as shit
Liam- Druid/Circle of the Moon
I think he likes playing a spell caster but hates how squishy they are.  as a transmutation wizard he really likes to turn into a polymorphed beast to whale on something physically so a druid would fit him great. also Keyleth was his love interest from the fight campaign, he was always impressed by the things she did, I could see him playing a great druid as a homage to her.
Travis- Fighter/Eldritch Knight
I think Travis likes being a spellcaster but hates being squishy, which is probably why as a hexblade Fjord barely used his Falchion as a Falchion, he stuck with Eldritch blasts.  As a Eldritch Knight I’m sure he’d appreciate the extra ac he could pile onto himself along with the shield cantrip (think Theo from a crown of candy) while still doing magic spells, he wouldn’t get as many spells but I think he’d get more spell slots than Fjord.  He also seemed one of the most enamored by Percy as a fighter/gunslinger so I think playing a fighter would be good for him because he likes to attack so much and that’s a fighter’s bag.  I would add battlemaster but I think he was playing one as Bertand and I think this is a more even ground between a caster and martial class that he’d find instead of a hexblade that he seemed nervous to be a frontline with
Ashley- Paladin subclass unknown
I think a paladin would be really good for Ashley especially now that she’s back at the table permanently, she always seems a bit shy and scared of doing something wrong which is a shame.  I know she’s an introvert but she has some of the best lines and she seems to be detatched sometimes from the others since she doesn’t have the full 5 years of experience of being on the show the others have.  Paladins need charisma, but as a secondary ability score compared to str or dex. This way she wouldn’t need to be the face of the party but she could be one of the talkers.  She also just seems to enjoy being a badass and looking after her friends as a healer support, all which fit a paladin, especially a pc that is a pureblood paladin
Talisen- Artificier Artillerist
Just saying there would be something really poetic about Talisen playing a class that focused on cannons something that is related to Percy’s biggest regret.  Not to mention that Tal has mentioned that as much as he loves playing Caducues he has the shut up the percy in his head because Cad is wise not smart and percy had to be the smartest person in the room and let everyone know it.  Artificers need Int as the primary ability score so he can go back to playing that.  Also it’s very similar to what he was doing as percy anyway, as much as Percy fiddled with his gun, he enjoyed making contraptions like traps or almost magic items with science, which would fit as an artificier and let him do things again but with science and magic.
Laura- Warlock or bard subclass unknown
Laura is incredibly clever and a great cleric, but while she’s a much better cleric than people give her credit for, she just doesn’t like healing and that’s okay.  As someone who plays a cleric, we are not your heal bots, if you can’t keep yourself alive for a round than you don’t deserve to be doted on by a cleric.  with that out of the way, Laura wasn’t able to play a warlock this campaign and it’s a shame since Travis is a fine warlock, he also ditched his patron and multiclassed paladin, which is a good choice for Fjord, I can’t help but feel like Jester could have been such a great warlock and not getting yelled at by the internet everytime she doesn’t heal everyone.  As a warlock she doesn’t get the spell slots so she can use hers as powerful spells instead of to heal her party and with eldritch blast as the warlock bread and butter no one can complain to her about focusing on attacking.  Also added Bard because one thing that Laura loves to do that the internet harped on her for is haggaling and making mischief with a cha class she would be able to talk her way out of situations and with npcs more which can lead to a lot of fun for a player as clever as laura
Marisha- sorcerer subclass unknown
Despite a lot of assholes saying she was a bad caster, Marisha was amazing as a caster class, her problem was the druid spell list was immense and would trip up anyone, she had to spend a lot of time reading spells in between turns instead of paying attention which lead her to make mistakes sometimes.  However she was far more helpful than hurtful as Keyleth and saved the party on multiple occasions.  I think being a sorcerer would be good for her because she only has a few spells to use and she can get those down cold and use them to the great affect she has done in the past.  Also I think playing a high charisma character would be good for Marisha since she has the notes already she just needs to be able to roll well when convincing people or lying to people which she could as a sorcerer instead of a character with charisma as an unneeded stat

HELL YEAH, DUDE! INFO DUMP ABOUT YOUR OC, OR SO HELP ME!
eyyyyyyyyy. CW for discussion of violent fictional bigots leading to body image issues. Okay so here's the thing. My boy Curio a sweet, kind of shy, well-meaning, socially awkward 28-year-old wizard. Tallish, no muscles whatsoever, big round glasses, kind of stupid facial hair, your standard stereotype.
Tumblr media
Except that's not what he looks like, really.
That image is missing a Hat of Disguise (grey irish flat-cap), which he wears constantly, even while sleeping unless he can be sure he's alone. His full first name is Curiosity and what he actually looks like is somewhere around these two pictures, except with broken horns and a helluva lot more faded-over-2-decades facial scarring.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That childhood scarring is the reason why he literally never takes the hat off, no matter what; not because of the scarring itself, but because of what it represents. He grew up with so much baggage attached to his identity as a tiefling because, apart from a very supportive but imperfect and over-her-head single human mother, he had no support network in a small town where he was the only tiefling and almost-if-not-all of the entire town were superstitious humans who were very not interested in examining their biases. The children his age and a few years older were the ones who gave him most of that damage. But there's a reason his mother named him Curiosity; ever since he was old enough to explore, he did so enthusiastically and constantly, and after enough of that (and playing mostly alone) he developed skills that other kids his age didn't have, and he essentially became a gifted child. His mom took advantage of that (and some favors with an old friend) when the bullying got especially bad and got Curio scholarships to send him away to a mage's college in a more open-minded area where he would be protected and taken care of, in exchange for helping with tasks around the college until he was old enough to become an official student. The college became his life. He threw himself into the study of everything having to do with magic - history, mechanics, culture, ethics, etc. - partly as distraction, partly as hyperfixation (I do imagine he's neurodivergent in some way), and partly, subconsciously, as a desperate way to grasp at some sort of explanation for why he exists the way that he does and why the world around him is the way that it is. The enchanted hat was something he got at some point during his time at the college, and it essentially became a comfort item for him, and even though he probably could have gotten by without it with *less* problems than he had in his hometown, he just refused to go without it for years after the fact both out of fear of what could happen again and out of what had become, at that point, a deeply ingrained sense that he was just *wrong* and that he needed to hide himself to avoid burdening others. And all of that is just background for his situation in the current campaign, as a 7th-level wizard who has been traveling with a southern sweetheart druid satyr, a young-looking and mysterious dreamfolk warlock, a puss-in-boots-esque tabaxi fighter, a sweet grandmotherly minotaur barbarian, and a tiefling sorcerer in his late 40's who has a lot of backstory commonalities with Curio, particularly being raised by a single mother, having bad experiences as a kid due to his fiendish heritage, leaving home young, and hiding his appearance when he was younger. (Side note, the sorcerer's player and I *did not plan this*. We both came up with backstories independently, we didn't really have a session 0, and we just now found out how weirdly similar our characters' lives have been, though there's obviously been some differences too.) I started out this campaign by letting all the players know openly that Curio was not human, because I knew I couldn't keep a secret. In the 9 months we've been playing (we had a hiatus for a few, so it's more like 6-7 months of weekly to bi-weekly sessions), the character that's come the closest to figuring it out has been the sorcerer, Turavel, because he has obvious advantages when it comes to picking out which things just don't seem right for a human wizard to do. For example, on top of the weirdness of Curio never taking the hat off, sleeping alone often, bathing alone often, etc., he barely (roll of 15 vs 14) caught Curio tearing up when Turavel was talking about where he came from, and he thought it was weird that Curio could cast things like Hellish Rebuke. (The player, actually, was the only one of us to call this out when it happened, so I made note of it.) At the time (months ago irl, about 2-4 weeks ago in game time), I as the player didn't think Curio's cover had been blown, because I was convinced that Wizards could cast Hellish Rebuke, and I
even informed the player that Curio has fake entries in his spellbook for Hellish Rebuke, Thaumaturgy, and Darkness, just in case anyone ever saw it who also saw him cast those things. But I discovered today while searching for level-up spells for him that I was wrong. As soon as I realized, I sent Turavel's player these messages:
"Looking through wizard-only spells and realized that I as the player made ANOTHER mistake, specifically about which spells would be natural to see a wizard use, which means Curio made another mistake because I'm not retconning anything I said about what he's done. Whoopsie Since you actually called it out at the time (not the latest nat 1, the one time Curio used it before that) I'll be clear with you: Hellish Rebuke is a 2nd level, Warlock-only spell. Curio has the Magic Initiate feat, which might explain why he knows Thaumaturgy which is a cleric-only spell, since his 1st level spell for that feat is Healing Word which is exclusive to clerics, bards, and druids... but if that were the case that wouldn't explain why he can also use Vicious Mockery, which only works with bardic magic. He would have had to have learned Healing Word in a bardic way, leaving Thaumaturgy unaccounted for, unless there's just some explanation other than fiendish heritage or magic initiate that Turavel has literally never heard of before. Maybe there's a bardic college that would allow for the learning of Thaumaturgy? Unlikely. In that case Hellish Rebuke would still be unaccounted for, unless Curio has a secret patron and is a multiclassed warlock/wizard. Occam's razor. And since Turavel's the only one who asked to see his spellbook [in return, after Curio asked to see the spellbooks of all the other spellcasters], help me remember and I'll let you contest me on arcana with advantage to put all this together when we meet next."
And that's where we are. Curio's about to get fully found out because of overthinking and overprotecting himself in ways that weren't necessary, after just casually and confidently trading spellbooks - for strategic study - with the one person in the party who was always leagues more likely than anyone else to figure out what was going on. The same sorcerer who is old enough to be Curio's father and knows almost *exactly* what he's going through, and who Curio would probably be the most ashamed to be found out by, because he would probably be worried that his disguising of his tiefling nature would be interpreted as an insult even though Curio has terrible anxiety about the whole thing and literally can't help it. And I just think it's extra fun that the reason this is happening so soon is because of decisions I made intentionally as a player to make it *harder* to find him out, while truly thinking about what he would actually do. And I swear to god if that roll at advantage doesn't work I'm giving him all the inspiration I've got, because this is too good. I'm excited for the ensuing cathartic drama and for this precious boy to finally start learning how to love himself. p.s. in case any readers haven't picked up by now it's a closeted-trans-youth meets open-trans-elder allegory. This is what happens when you play DnD with other trans people
