Beating Hollow Knight Steel Soul: A Guide
part 1: general tips!
if you're about to die hit esc/pause and quit to menu
#shitboxposting#hollow knight#this is a joke post but it's also dead serious i have both steel soul achievements and it's because i mastered the art of pausing &#quitting when i was a hit or two away from dying. just drops you safely back at your most recent bench without wiping any progress you made#you still keep all the geo youd gotten etc. this is also good for fast traveling when speedrunning (ive done all speedruns too)#tip 2 is be aware of what enemies you struggle with and avoid them until you can level up. never be afraid to quit and come back when#you have more masks/nail dmg / charm notches etc#i definitely made an outline of where to get all the mask shards/vessel frags/pale ores /completion %s (thank you hk wiki)#and only went for the ones i thought i cld handle#brooding mawlek and the collector i put off until id gotten most upgrades. traitor lord i did not touch at All.#also WATCH OUT if youre fighting enemies that do 2mask dmg hits you need to quit at 2masks because thats when itll take only 1 hit to die#made that mistake once and Never Again

i love the idea of the batfam wearing each other's merch cause like. i know they'd be petty about it. usually they'd wear their siblings merch in (kinda) equal rotations, but they'd change it up depending on sibling squabbles or sibling favours.

It must be horrible having super strength. Imagine being half asleep and ripping your bedroom door off its hinges. All the bent cutlery and shattered plates and smashed eggs. How often you know you can fix something but can’t because it would reveal your identities/powers. Accidentally breaking your steering wheel or car horn because you couldn’t quite get a lid on the road rage. Crushing whatever you’re holding the second something startles you. How terrifying it must be to hold or pet animals. Friendly punching someone in the arm and seeing a wicked bruise there the next day, or maybe a cast…
On a funnier note, I am now imagining the Super family playing catch with various fruit as part of their Learn How Not To Crush Everything You Touch training. Tim starts recording when they upgrade to eggs.

ok today's bug discovery: the fade-touched nevarrite ability that makes the target explode on death says it does 75% weapon damage, but im pretty sure it actually does 200%
#da#dai#i see the mistake they made. the property used for the amount of damage is property 2 and that's set to 0.75#but when it's called later it doesnt call the property it just calls the number 2. so instead of 75% it's 200%#not something im bothered checking in-game but once again ive just accidentally stumbled into a probable bug#tbf the whole point of what im doing rn (going through these specific files) is to make sure they do exactly what they say#or more so to understand the mechanics but that just ends up being 'make sure they do what they say'#so i kinda AM looking for bugs. but im still surprised when i find them. esp when they're completely undocumented#that said. if any bugs are gonna be undocumented they're gonna be random side mechanics that you use so rarely that you'll never notice the#like who's going around checking that fade-touched nevarrite does 75% weapon damage when you kill something? certainly not i#if anyone WANTS to test it they're welcome to but im content to just be pretty sure i understand what im reading#personal
