Whoever said that you shouldn't mix business and pleasure hadn't met or worked with Max Verstappen. You didn't mean to, really. Step one was to make a nice presentation of the things you needed to film, scripts, storyboards, and shot lists. You pulled an all-nighter, fueled by manic determination and energy drinks. When you're satisfied, you move on to the next one - getting it somewhere. Max is sloppy with closing his door, still sleeping. You neatly move the covers and grin at the morning wood. You pinch his thigh, hard, and he jolts a Dutch word beginning with K on the tip of his tongue.

"Can I?" You ask, motioning to his hard cock. Max is honestly happy to be alive right now. He needs a peaceful start to the morning. They like your ideas, and you're gonna start filming on Thursday with Yuki and the VCARB boys, too. Max would be saved for as little socials as possible. But that simply wouldn't do. You needed him. You knew that people would stop scrolling for Max. The silly audios you've prepped wouldn't pack as much as a punch without him. So you had to resort to some more unconventional methods of convincing him. So be it.

Max didn't plan on being on his yacht 2 days before the Free Practice session. He didn't need the attention, especially now when the fans were crawling around Monaco like cockroaches. But you insisted on it for "training purposes." He didn't want Yuki to complain about "the new admin losing her lunch" in the crystalline waters of the harbor.

"Can't believe you've lived here for months, and this is about to be your first time on a boat." Max says. You hum, busy taking it all in.

You weren't a materialist, but Unleash the Lion was impressive. You want to make a biting comment about the cost of the yacht, and how he still insists that you split grocery bills. But you need to be on your best behavior for your plan to work. "You know, you're partially my landlord, on Thursday and the weekend you'll be my boss and here you're the captain. I sure do have a knack for a good power imbalance, don't I?" You say, teasing him.

"If you're about to reveal a weird kink you have, don't bother. I think I'm already very familiar with what you like." He quips back, already aware of your more submissive nature. "Not all of it. There's the exhibitionism." You reply, with the subtlety of a bull in a china shop. Maybe innuendos weren't your strong suit. But getting Max's attention certainly was. "And it's time to steer this fast enough to a place where we can dock this." He says, making the boat go as fast as the 2023 Redbull car. You try to enjoy the ride, and all but you're also thinking of the ride that you wanna give Max. You strip down to the tiny, barely there bikini that you picked just for this "cruise". Slip the box of condoms around the strings, ask the driver to spread sunscreen on your back. The whole shebang.

As soon as the yacht docks, Max is on you, fingertips hovering above your bikini strings. A "Please, I need you" is all it takes for him to melt for you. He makes you suck his fingers in your mouth, before he slides them down your bikini bottoms against your clit. You rut against him, desperate for him to be inside you already, to give you everything you need. Max enjoys the scenery instead. The sun, the sea, the soft moans you're letting out. "I want you to remember what we just did the entire time we're shooting. When I'm playing at creative director, only you and I will know that I was moaning your name like I'll call it." You ask and hope that it will be enough. Of course, you know you'll sweeten the deal . You'll brush up against him when no one is watching. You'll make innuendos in Dutch, and of course, promises of what's to come when the cameras are off. After all, you hadn't told him about the other 2 Tiktoks in the planning.

February 2025 Escher Girls Patreon Thank You & Life/Site Update

Hi everyone! I hope everybody is okay despite everything going on in America and the world ):

As some of you who follow me elsewhere know, I've been recovering from sudden surgery for most of January which is why I haven't really been able to do much with the blog this month. I'm still recovering so this update will be short.

Before I had to get surgery, I managed to restore and update some old posts, they are: this old Black Widow post & an associated humorous redraw with Iron Man in her position instead, a great inked redraw of Yelena Belova by frequent EG contributor Deanna M. Brigman, a really strange cover of Yelena and Natasha fighting,and an old panel of Natasha from Avengers #399 which I finally found a source for.

All restored/fixed posts have working images, videos, and animated gifs (a lot were broken or deleted by either Tumblr or during the move to the new site), and have added image descriptions for screenreaders, sources, and links to the cross-posts on the site & on Tumblr.

I have also been looking through my email inbox and Tumblr inbox, and there's a bunch of submissions during the pandemic and site move period that I think I never got around to posting due to a combination of moving the site, the pandemic, and exam stresses. I'm really sorry for missing those, and I'm now processing and posting them all.

There's been no explicit Jennifer sightings, but they did film at dispatch and possibly madney's house (maybe multiple times), so she's probably just not been seen.

Angela hasn't been seen on set, but I saw someone talk about her being on set.

They've primarily filmed emergencies so far. They did some personal stuff earlier this week with Henren, Chimney (Madney?), the kids, maybe Buck and Eddie, too. And there was one other time they seemed to be filming at madney's house. I believe the rest that we're aware of has been firehouse/emergencies (unless something is slipping my mind).

Hi there! I'm trying to work on my showing vs telling but one place I have trouble with is when the pov is thinking. If the character is a doctor trying to work out the patient's symptoms for diagnosis options how much thoughts should be telling vs just showing the symptoms? eg. the patients is covered in spots and the doctor pov is thinking it could be measels or chicken pox or weird acne.

Could this be fixed with specifically saying this is the character's thoughts? ( 'It could be measels,' he thought) vs just describing the thoughts into paragraphs as everything is happening from the character's pov (Did the patient have measels? Or maybe it's just weird acne.)

Showing vs Telling in Character Thought

Showing vs telling works the same in character thought as any other time. It's okay to tell. It's just that when you can show, and it makes sense to show, you should.

For example, look at this sentence where a character tells about the weather in thought:

Mara walked to the window and pulled the curtain aside. It's sunny out there today, she thought, her nose puckering in distaste.

Now, let's look at what that sentence might look like where the narrator shows the weather, but we don't have character thought:

Mara walked to the window and pulled the curtain aside. Yellow light dappled the lawn and driveway, and turned the lake into a glittering marvel.

It would be really, really awkward to have the character think that:

Mara walked to the window and pulled the curtain aside. Yellow light is dappling the lawn and driveway, and turning the lake into a glittering marvel, she thought, her nose puckering in distaste.

That doesn't work at all. So, the first version, with her telling in thought is fine. Or, if you wanted to do a combination of both, you could do something like this:

Mara walked to the window and pulled the curtain aside. Yellow light dappled the lawn and driveway, and turned the lake into a glittering marvel. Too bright, she thought, her nose puckering in distaste.

7x07 Costume Meta

Well!! Where does one even start with this episode!!!

We start with Hen - thats where! Well actually we start by saying that no Bobby or Athena in this meta - as they were only seen in uniform!

I also want to say - starting with this one, I'm going to have to pull back from the very full on costume meta's I've been putting out each week - work has got incredibly busy (I'm about to undertake a massive multi £million project) and I just don't have the capacity - mentally and physically or the time, to write meta for every single one of our main (and the regulars/guest) cast. These metas take a huge amount of effort and energy and while I love writing them, I need to have the time to pursue other things alongside them, (which I currently don't) and give myself time to rest - I don't want my AuDHD to spiral me into burnout.

So while I'm still going to be putting out a costume meta each week, I cannot guarantee which or how many characters and costumes I talk about - I may do all the characters but not all their costumes or just a few of the characters but all their costumes - it depends on my capacity that week. I will commit to doing Buck and Eddie every week (unles they're only in uniform) because they are the reason I started doing these metas in the forstplace and are my blorbos!

Now on with the meta - below the cut as usual!

Hen

Hens costumes go on a bit of a journey in this episode

Not going to lie - this t-shirt - I am obsessed with it as a choice for Hen and for this scene. Loewe t-shirts start at $300 - I am clearly in the wrong job and universe!! But that aside - we have this bright cyan blue (because its a cyanotype design!) which means trust and loyalty, but it is combined with a cow parsley print and cow parsley in flower language means safety sanctuary and refuge - due to its prevelance in church yards and churches being places where one could seek sanctuary (hisotrically speaking). So this is hen offering all of those things to Mara (on behalf of the Wilson family) and that is just beautiful to see.

Hen in a bright pink hoodie when the pink = naivety and innocence theme we have for this season is going strong, it does also play into the idea of secrets and cheating a bit as well - as we see Deidra give them a way to contact Maras half brothers family, and the implication that Mara's mother cheated on Maras father is made clear as well.

Then we get this birth of love jumper with pink roses on a gold background. gold in colour theory mean optimism, enlightenment and prosperity and with pink roses meaning gratitude and new beginnings, the symbolism of the sweater is pretty clear - even without the words 'the birth of love' wrtien on it - along with mara being in yellow and back in contact with her baby brother, all things are looking pretty positive in the Wilson household right now!

Maddie

its all about the pale blues and lavenders for Maddie this week.

The pale blue we see Maddie in here plays into the same blue theming we've seen Buck wearing since the end of season 5 - this is all about Maddie getting some closure and moving on from her past - leaving Doug and the trauma he put her through in the past. The blue bookends that mini arc for Maddie in this episode - showing her still doing a bit of processing over her trauma surrounding Doug and his kidnapping of her.

We also get the tan coloured jacket with its golden wrm undetones - its within the brown spectrum of the colour wheel and therefore plays into the theme of stability and protection.

We also get this beautiful lavender colour in the middle of it all as well. Lavender is a colour of cleansing and tranquility - which ties in nicely to Maddies pale blue closure and moving on journey for the episode.

Buck

Buck decided to just play out the green and blue colour theme on his own this week - the dark bottle green shirt with a navy blue apron thats messy and stained is an interesting choice! This is the second time this season we've seen Buck in this dark green shade, and both times have been around Eddie and both scenes have related to issues with Eddies relationship with Marisol and the idea of keeping secrets of some description.

combine this with the other times we've seen Buck wearing this dark bottle green and things become even more interesting

-2x18 - Buck and Ali relationship end -3x12 - skateboarding -3x16 - when Buck takes Red to see Cindy -5x13 - when he confesses to Taylor about kissing Lucy -5x18 - when he breaks up with Taylor

the skateboarding scene is the only one that doesn't fully fit the bottle green narrative at play in the other three scenes - its also the only other scene where there is no blue present - Eddie is wearing white and buff, so it can be discounted from the pattern by virtue of the lack of blue.

All 4 of the other scenes involve a relationship crisis point of some description - Ali all but ends their relationship (side point here, Buck is also wearing blue and green in this scene as the hoodie is lined in navy blue).

- Red discovers Cindy has dementia and cannot remember him - ending any hope of that relationship being something he can pursue. This scene does however sit slightly apart from the later scenes as well - by virtue of Red being the character involved - and not someone Buck has a close personal relationship with - Red is a new friend.

Buck confessing he kissed Lucy puts his relationship with Taylor in jeopardy and it then ends in 5x18 - both of these scenes play into the theme of the lack of trust and of secrets on top of the relationship crisis points.

So to combine those scenes with the two from this season - all involve a crisis point in a close relationship along with secrets and to a greater or lesser extent a lack of trust, leading to a breakdown or termination of a relationship. So while on the surface this is all pointing towards some form of relationship termination, my feeling is that isn't the whole story. I do think it still points towards a relationship crisis point for Buck and Eddie (as well as Eddie and Marisol and Eddie and Kim) when the fact Eddie is cheating on Marisol comes to light, the fact that Buck is also the one wearing the blue and not Eddie, points me towards thinking that Buck will also be the one to ensure that any break between him and Eddie is only temporary - because ultimately Buck has been on both sides of the coin - he has been cheated on (Abby did't technically end their relationship so Buck was technically being cheated on) and been the one to do the cheating.

Chris

Chris is the only colour in this scene - we have Eddie in white and buff and Marisol in white and black - both effectively devoid of colour - meanwhile Chris is sat between them wearing green and red - and check gets thrown into the mix as well.

The fact he is placed directly between them for most of the scene is an indicator that it is this 'family' dynamic that is going to fall under the curse of the check pattern - the check is foreshadowing the entrance of Kim later in the scene, as well as the future end of the relationship between Eddie and Marisol and Chris and Marisol.

The green is also closer to Eddies army greens than we've seen Chris in before - playing into the idea of Chris and Eddie being similar in their behaviours and mannerisms - again its a form of foreshadowing Eddies cheating arc sitting in parallel to Chris's one.

Meanwhile the red is a signal of danger (it can mean passion, love etc as well, but in this instance - as its being used in check pattern - its more a symbol of danger - a warning!).

I'm also fascinated by the foreshadowing this outfit gives us as well - the red and green of Buck and later outfits - a signifier perhaps of the check also hinting at conflict ahead for Buck and Eddie over the fact Eddie is lying to Buck and to Chris - as the use of the two colours on all three of them in the episode (and only the three of them) really highlights them as a unit once again.

Then we have Chris in a white tee and a two tone denim jacket. I am sincerley hoping that the white tee is not a signifier of the same things as Buck being in white - Chris so rarely wears white, that I am hoping it is merely playing into the idea that Chris is a true innocent in the tangled web that Eddie is weaving - the web centred around his internalised idea that he needs to find another mother figure for Chris.

Marisol

Marisol in back and white stripes is paying into stripe theory rather nicely - its indicating that change is coming. We see the beginnings of that change later in the scene with the introduction of Kim. The choice to have the stripes in black and white is also telling - its a literal representation of things being black and white and plays into the theme of Eddie and Marisol's relationship lacking colour - its very telling that both her and Eddie have worn black and or white around each other far more than any other colours, I'm not saying we haven't seen them in other colours - we have - Marisol has also worn the bright pink top in 7x01 and the blue dressing gown (and the blue top from later) and Eddie has worn his army green but the fact of the matter is that black and white are the over arching colours the two of them wear in relation to one another and tied into that is the fact that none of the scenes she has been involved in have been about establishing her as a character in her own right - all of her scenes have been set up for either Chris or Eddie - the audience is being given very little to endear her to them and the black and white also plays that out - in fact we have had more establishment of Eddie and Tommy as friends in one episode than we have had of Eddie and Marisol as a couple across multiple episodes.

There is also the fact that white means purity and innocence - which as a novice nun is on theme for her - but it also plays into the idea that she is also an innocent party in the road Eddie is about to send them on.

We also get more Marisol in Blue - its a bright blue that is very reminiscent of the bright blue that the Virgin Mary is depicted wearing in Catholic art - it plays into the theme of Eddies Catholic guilt that was established in 7x05 when Eddie found out she was a novice nun - its just yet more layering of this positioning her as a representation of the Catholic faith - as a representation of purity and goodness - she is intentionally meant to seen bland and too good an pure - its her literal narrative purpose.

Kim

Ok sooo Kim the Shannon Doppelgänger! They've done a great job with costuming her to make her look very differnet to Shannon - which is a key thing. To start with all the colours we've seen her in so far sit on the opposite side of the colour wheel from Shannon - who was much more in the yellow orange and pink side of the wheel, while Kim here sits in the blue side of the wheel - interestingly the same side of the Wheel that Buck sits on. I've spoken at length about How Buck in the pale blues we've seen him wearing since the end of season five was about his journey of self discovery and figuring out who he is and what he wants - about moving forward and leaving the past in the past. The same could be said for Eddie here its just manifesting in a very differnet way - Kim is a projection of Shannon, so moving on from Shannon and leaving her ghost in the past is what Eddies journey is all about.

I am fascinated by the fact that this suit choice - with its vertical striped pattern and white shirt underneath also plays into 6x01 Buck and the lasagne of it all - especially considering we see Buck attempting a new lasagne later in the episode - there is something in the concept that Buck getting his lasagne right in that blue zip front jacket when Eddie is there to eat it, and then not getting the new lasagne he is trying out right when Eddie is not going to be eating it - things being successful and right when the three of them are together as the Buckley-Diaz family, but not being successful or right when one of them isn't present.

This as a concept places Buck along side Shannon - something we've already seen explicitly stated on screen in this season and in direct contrast to Kim - because not only is Kim a doppelgänger for Shannon, she becomes a doppelgänger for buck as well.

The blue and white striped top in the second Kim scene also mirrors Buck costumes from season 6 - the vertical stripes and the use of blue and white - it further emphasises the paralleling of the pair of them - because the implications are clear - Eddie thinking he's found this second chance with Shannon - a second chance at happiness with when the reality is that Buck has been there all along - it plays perfectly into the Vertigo arc that Tim is using as well - Buck in the place of Midge - the best friend but the actual right fit for Eddie who has been there all along.

This black sheer top and leather jacket with the knotted updo is playing into so many themes that it makes me happy! the first and most obvious one is that its a very stereotypical 'other woman' outfit - the sophisticated seductress. It also plays her into the opposite of Shannon - dark versus light - all the flashbacks of Shannon we saw in this episode were brightly lit and bathed in light - giving her an angelic and heavenly aura - a play on her status as an angel (both in terms of her being dead, but also in terms of Eddie having rose tinted glasses on in regards to their relationship and her as a person - that common trait of making saints of the dead - especially when their death was traumatic and left things unfinished - as we have with Eddie)- Kim her is lit far more darkly and the glow of the light has a much more orange and therefore darker tone to it - its a play on temptation - the updo and leather also give her a slightly serpent like air - she is Eve tempting Adam to eat the fruit - it is serpent like. This theme plays on the other religious theme we've had established around Eddie - with Marisol being placed into this Virgin Mary role - here we have Kim being placed into her opposition as the devil - I am not saying she is evil - this is about Eddie being tempted by trying to get back what he has lost - she is a physical manifestation of what is happening - of Eddies internal struggles with his catholic guilt - much in the same way Marisol is a manifestation of the opposite side of that catholic guilt coin - they are the extremes that are pulling on Eddie in physical form and Eddie needs to find the balance.

Eddie

Boy oh boy do we have a lot to talk about with Eddie this week!1

There are three key themes at play with Eddie in his costuming this week and its so so good, I'm obsessed with the choices being made.

Starting out with this white tee and buff suede jacket which ties into three separate scenes which are key in relation to Christopher and Eddies relationships with women and the the theme of Eddie looking for a mother for him.

up first - the moment Eddie lets Shannon back into Christophers life - this one is pretty obvious on the mother front - Eddie is literally letting Christophers actual mother back into his life. this jacket is closer to brown than the buff colour of the one above, but it still plays into the theme - its the point at which the theme is established.

Then we have Eddies talk with Bobby about Shannon and re proposing to her as well as the possibly of her being pregnant again. Its a key turning point in his the relationship with Shannon - it is the moment that idealisation starts to creep into Eddies perspective on her and the moment when past, present and future collide - the concept of having Shannon and not having Shannon.

Finally we have the skateboarding scene - which while being a key moment of bonding as the Buckely-Diaz dynamic continues to be established in season 3. The jacket here is the closest to the one from 7x07 and this scene comes on the back of a couple of scenes with Ana - who was wearing pale blue in one and white (with red flowers) in the second.

All of these scenes when combined with the scenes from 7x07 establish this white tee - buff/beige jacket or shirt colour way as being about Christopher and Eddies desire to give him a mother figure - that the final scene - the skateboard scene very clearly shows Buck becoming a key figure in Christophers upbringing in a far more visual and physical way - Eddie is and active participant rather than standing on the sidelines as he is in all the others - along with the choice to show buck in the dark green in the same episodes - showing Buck in a semi parental role back then to show him in an even more parental role in this one (the 'we won't wait up' was a definite choice on the script front when it had been established that Chris was staying over at Bucks and Eddie wasn't returning until the following day) - especially when you also have Chris wearing red in both episodes.

Eddie in a black shirt - one that is the same as the one from 7x06.

There is a lot at play with this black shirt, and a lot at play with black on Eddie more widely, but first up - The Christopher watch. It was so very present in this episode - the shirt cuff has been tucked underneath the watch to ensure that it is visible - because they want to ensure that we see that Christopher is still front and centre in Eddies mind through all of this - it is an indicator that Eddie is not dating any of these women for himself - they are all in one way or another for Chris.

The clincher on the watch front is that the first time we see it is when he goes on his first date with Ana - the first time he is trying to 'recapture' the magic he had with Shannon and the first time he starts dating to try and give Chris a mother figurre. The fact it is so present when he goes back to the store to see Kim the Shannon doppelgänger is proof enough that this is as much about Chris as it is Eddie - the ghost of Shannon continues to loom large in both of their lives and Eddie is very much still trying to find her again for the both of them.

The other - slightly more unhinged aspect of this is that he wears the Christopher watch out to his date with Kim later on - making it still about Christopher. The reason this is unhinged is that the one time we have seen Eddie go out on something resembling a date and not wear the Christopher watch was the poker night with Buck - I said at the time the fact that both Eddie and buck were wearing new watches was important - here we start to see its significance play out - that poker night was for Eddie (and Buck), not for Christopher in any way - if Marisol or Kim were meant to be endgame or even truly long term - then he would be wearing that watch on his dates with one of them - the fact he hasn't speaks volumes (and speaks volumes for the buddie of it all!).

the shirt itself being worn for this meeting and coming off the back of two key scenes in 7x06 tells its own story. Whilst Bucks coming out to Eddie scene is about his coming out, it is also about establishing Eddie not knowing/realising that Tommy was gay, as well as about the idea of

His wearing it to reverse his relationship with Marisol back to them not living together - to start over is obvious - the magic with her wasn't magicking, but because of his determination (subconsciously) to find a mother for Chris he rewinds rather than ending the relationship. This remains the key scene for this shirt in that episode and ties into his wearing it in this one - its all about rewinding the clock and trying again.

The thing with Eddie in black (apart from the singlets which are their own themed thing - although it still ties into the wider Eddie in black theme) is that its a colour he has worn so specifically in relation to his mental health and in connection with Christopher (and Shannon).

I'm not going to go through every instance of him wearing black - it would take way to long, but I am going to pick out a few key moments when he is wearing it - specifically shirts

2x17 - the reproposal/ divorce scene 3x12 - parent teacher night at school - mets Ana for the first time 3x15 - Christopher birth (flash back scene) 4x13 - follow your heart not Christophers scene 5x01 - Panic attack scene 5x10 - tells Carla about the hostage situation - after Chris's meltdown 5x17 - Ramons retirement party

We also have him in 6x11 in his widows weeds at Bucks bedside and in 6x17 a long sleeved waffle tee when he 're' meets Marisol at the DIY store

In regards to Marisol - he has worn black more than any other colour in relation to her (not that they've had many scenes together, but half of their scenes have been in black, and that includes their 're' meeting in the hardware store - not technically their first meeting, but Eddie was in uniform the first time they met.

The black is playing two roles with Eddie - there is the fact that it has duel meaning - it is associated with magic - specifically dark magic as well as darkness/depression, secrets and power. I know I haven't listed all of the scenes he wears black and long sleeves above - but the fact that those scenes I've listed are so very central to Eddie, fatherhood and the various women in his life is pretty telling. The fact that both Ana and Marisol were both met in scenes where he was in black or that so many of the other scenes were connected to pivotal moments in his relationships with all three women (Shannon, Ana and Marisol) - in the same way the the dark green has been for Buck - and the fact that so many of the scenes tie into the theme of his heart and not following it plays into this idea that he is in mourning - that his grief is central to all of these relationships - and that includes this new one with Kim.

Setting his first meeting (as in actual conversation) with Kim against this backdrop of his previous relationships, grief and his 'struggle's with fatherhood (including his relationship with his own father) sets this relationship off on the wrong foot regardless of the cheating aspect or the fact she is Shannons doppelgänger.

Sorry, both the pictures from 7x07 have terrible lighting - it was basically impossible to get a good still of either shirt that showed off the colour!!!! I am however obsessed with the choice to put Eddie in maroon twice in this episode - and in long sleeves at that!

The reason for my obsession - the way it plays into yet another Christopher theme. Eddie wearing Maroon long sleeved shirts (espeically Henleys) in relation to Christopher and his choices as a parent. So in this Episode it happens twice - we have his meal in the Diaz kitchen with Marisol, and then at the end of the Episode - his date with Kim - While neither scene directly involves Chris, both play into this idea of everything Eddie does in terms of his relationships in connected to Chirs - he daydreams about bringing Shannon back into Christophers life - in a better more honest way than he actually managed to do in the real world (proof of his rose tinted glasses being firmly on when it comes to Shannon) - righting the wrongs he feels he did her, then later on he drops Chris off with Buck (the other actual parental figure in Chris's life) before going on a secret date wit ha woman who looks like Shannon and Eddie is viewing as a second chance - a second chance not just for himself, but also for Chris - because Chris is missing his mom - something the show established early on in the season and the trigger that is sending Eddie into this current spiral.

All of the scenes Eddie has worn this colour in previously (by this I mean without the presence of other colours via jackets etc) - and they're aren't that many - are deeply connected to Chris and Eddies struggles with fatherhood.

We have this scene from 2x10 when Chris confesses his Christmas wish is to have his mom back - which leads to Eddie feeling guilty about his choices as a father and ultimately leads to Shannons return to Christophers life.

then we have Fight club Eddie in the aftermath of nearly killing a man from 3x08 - This is the only other time we see him in a Henley and the fact that the conversation he has with Bobby is so heavily intertwined with the concept of Eddie needing to be in control for Christopher - he is once again at the heart of the scene, even in his physical absence from it. It is also turning out to be an even more key scene - Bobby makes the all important comment

'Eddie I just want to make sure you don't think you have to lose everything, before you can allow yourself to feel anything'

this line is very much coming into play now - Eddie did not listen to Bobbys advice and is now setting himself on a course to lose everything. That implies that he will then finally start to feel things - able to move past his continued grief and build a future for himself. The overarching implication is that Eddie has remained in fight club mode since this scene - just that the fight club is internalised and with himself - his failings as a husband and father.

Chris goes off to summer camp in 3x18 - again a scene about Chris and Eddies role as father

and finally his first date with Ana - this scene while not obviously about Chris in the moment - is in fact all about Chris - we see it borne out over the course of Eddies relationship with Ana, but the key factor is that this is the first time we see Eddie wearing a different watch to his work watch - a second watch - his Christopher watch - which I explained the significance of above.

I've also included this tee from 6x12 because although it has short sleeves rather than long ones, it is adjacent to all of the above - he is making Christophers lunch while he and Buck talk later on after Buck has enjoyed his nap on Eddies couch, but it is also the closest they have come to talking about the will. Eddie is also not wearing a watch at all at this point - in a precursor to the poker date two episodes later, this moment - about letting yourself feel things rather than boxing them up inside feels like a key counterpoint to the reality of Eddies arc for this season.

The other thing about the red shirt black jacket combination along with all the above, is that it also juxtaposes the date with Vanessa that Pepa set him up on - the idea of wanting to be on a date versus not wanting to be on a date, whilst also ensuring black is a central theme with Eddies costuming arc this season.

There are insane takes and then there are next level insane takes. I love Bobby. Love Bobby Nash but this is a crazy take.

Q. I think most people now believe that something occurred with Peter over the hiatus and financial decisions played a part in the outcome. However if I'm ABC and Peter Krause is asking me to lighten his workload while not cutting his pay, I'm honoring that request. I understand that this show is expensive but if you need to save money you take the money from the core 4. You don't cull Peter Krause. If ABC had countered his request with a raise he would have stayed. They should have gone to Kenny, Oliver, Ryan and Aisha and told them they were getting pay cuts and if they had a problem with that then wish them well and cut your loss. Or if you really wanted to save money they could have gotten rid of all 4 of them. The show can survive with Angela, Peter and Jennifer. You can replace literally everyone else on this show and most people wouldn't care. I'm not saying I don't love the core 4 but every single one of them are financially expendable. Keeping Peter at whatever the cost should have been the goal.

A. This is a batahit take, anon. Completely batahit. I love Bobby and it will be an adjustment period without him for sure, but there is no world where firing 60% of your cast in order to pay one cast member more makes any kind of logical sense. They are not expendable. What purpose does Maddie serve in the 911 universe if her husband and brother are both gone? Getting rid of the four of them also means getting rid of Karen, Christopher, Denny, Mara and a slew of other side characters. That makes less than zero sense. That's the majority of your show's cast. In what world is that logical? You don't have a show with just Bobby, Athena and Maddie. What the hell kind of show is that? I'm truly dumbfounded by this take. The show is wildly expensive, but it is also the number one show on the network. That automatically means new deals with more money. That's how this works. It's not fair to ask Oliver, Ryan, Aisha and Kenny to accept less than what they've earned in order to give more to an actor who already made more money than they did. You wouldn't accept that at your job and they shouldn't be asked to accept that either. The bottom line is we don't really know what happened between Peter and the network, but something clearly occurred. We don't get here otherwise. But the solution to whatever occurred between them is not firing everyone else. The solution is also not telling the rest of the cast they're not getting the reward they earned. There is no show without the rest of the cast. Losing one cast member is difficult enough but actually believing that losing the majority of the cast in favor of keeping one actor was the solution that ABC should have come too is not anything I can take remotely seriously. I honestly don't understand why you're watching this show if you truly feel that way. This is just a wild take, anon. I truly don't know what you're doing here.

The answer hits him like a punch to the gut. He turns to look at Hen.

“No,” she says, shaking her head. “Absolutely fucking not.”

“Hen, you could do it,” Buck says.

“No!” She snaps. “How could you even ask that of me, Buck? He’s my best friend!”

“What?” Chim asks. “What’s going on?” 

“Hen can make you pass out,” Buck says.

“Buck! I nearly killed you!” Hen protests. 

“And I won’t let that happen,” Buck promises. “But come on, Hen, h-how else are we going to do this? We don’t have time to find a way into that room a-and out of this building. More security could come!”

“What is he talking about?” Chim asks.

“Hen can cut off your oxygen supply long enough to make you pass out,” Ravi explains. 

“Or give you brain damage!” Hen argues. 

“But Buck can heal you,” Ravi adds.

Chim gapes at Buck. “What? You’re freaky, too?”

“That can’t be what we’re calling it,” Buck says. 

“Hen, I think you have to do it,” Chim says. “I need to get out of here, okay? I need to see my kids.”

Hen struggles. She shakes her head.

“Come on. Wouldn’t you do it, to see Denny and Mara again? Wouldn’t you risk it?” 

That seems to be Hen’s breaking point. She lets out a little anguished, choked sound.

“Ravi, bring me in there before I change my mind,” she says. 

Ravi blinks out into the open room. 

He grabs Buck and Hen by the wrists. “Let’s try…”

Ravi pops them both into Chim’s cell at the same time. 

“Ha!” He announces triumphantly. “Look at that. Can move you both a small distance.”

“Sick,” Buck nods. Then he looks at Chim, no longer separated by a pane of bullet-proof glass, and it’s like he’s seeing him for the first time all over again.

He and Hen seem to have the same thought, because they crash into Chim at the same time, wrapping him into a tight hug. 

Chim laughs. “I love you guys.”

“We love you, too,” Hen says. 

Chim pulls away. “Now knock me out.”

Hen shakes her head. “Chim, are you-”

“Hen, if you ask me if I’m sure I want to see my family again, I’ll scream.”

Hen huffs. “Okay, fine. But it hurts. Ask Buck.”

“Yeah, it’s more than a tickle,” Buck agrees. 

“Just do it,” Chim says. “Get it over with. Might be interesting to experience conscious pain again.”

That’s probably an overrated experience, but sure.

They discharged Chim weeks ago, Buck says. 

I know, the woman says. That doesn’t mean that-

Once again, Buck wakes up gasping. He flies into a sitting position. There’s an alarm clock on the dresser across the room. It reads 11:59. He’s barely slept.  

“Buck?” Eddie’s groggy voice asks. “Are you okay?”

“Evan?” Maddie’s voice this time.

Fuck, this is weird room sharing arrangement. 

Buck tries to speak. He tries to answer. He tries to tell them it was just a dream. But he finds he can’t speak. His heart is racing. He can’t breathe. Either this is the worst panic attack of all time or something very bad is happening to him.

“Buck?” Eddie says again. 

“What’s happening?” Maddie demands.

“Maddie, I think he’s-”

Eddie’s voice is cut off and replaced in a snap by the sound of rushing water. Buck feels an instant shock of cold. It’s pitch black. The light of the alarm clock is gone. If Buck couldn’t breathe before, it’s impossible now. Ice cold water fills his nose and mouth. He swallows it. A steady current moves and turns him. He’s entirely disoriented. 

How the fuck did this happen?

He was just in the motel. He can still remember the feel of the mattress. The too soft pillow. Now, he’s what? Drowning? 

He hears a voice like a loop in his head. A child. 

Where did all the water go? 

Where did all the water go? 

Where did all the water go?

He doesn’t know what the fuck that means but he thinks he’s found it. Lots of fucking water here. 

It takes Buck a minute or struggling before he breaks the surface. He gasps for breath, paddling against a steady current until he realizes he’s in a river. It’s easier to go with the flow than battle against it. 

Eventually, he gets pulled off into shallow, rocky water. He’s able to pull himself to his feet. Stumble and trip over sharp stones until he finds dry land. He’s cold. He’s sore. He thinks he must be bleeding. He collapses onto hard, wet earth, face falling into the mud.

He has no idea how this happened. He has no idea what happened. Did he lose time or was he ripped through space? And will anyone fucking find him, wherever he is? 

He doesn’t have time to find an answer before he passes out.

It's always nice to see someone who doesn't jabber on an on about Mara Jade. Thank you so much for coming to my inbox! (As a side note, I keep forgetting until I see these book descriptions how much psychic damage I suffered from both the recurring descriptors and Zahn's writing of that female. Ugh, I'm gonna mentally hurl.)

Anyway, regarding your question, Katarina Du Couteau is an assassin from League of Legends who has a romantic tie with the knight in shining armor Garen Crownguard - and it's a very dangerous tie because their homelands are always at each other's throats. For context, here's their pictures.

Now, I myself don't exactly ship these two - as they're each too loyal to their own homes, and Katarina's messed up enough that she has zero issues murdering people as her position demands - but the reason I prefer her over Mara is Katarina is honest about her problems.

I feel you already know this, but for those who don't: the whole issue with Mara is that she says she's different, says that she no longer works for the Empire, says that she's making/made amends for her past deeds - and her actions tell the exact opposite.

Because Mara, despite her claims, continuously kills her opponents with zero remorse/if it suits her, treats those around her like trash (namely her own husband, who should be treated better than the trophy husband he is when married to Mara) like she did when working solo/with the Empire, and who will flat out threaten to kill the "guy who blabbed" about her backstory.

No joke, disbelievers. If you check her Wookieepedia page, that's an actual quote from Mara about someone asking if her assassin history is true.

Furthermore, every Star Wars character, added and preexisting from the films (but most glaringly in the case of Han and Leia), all basically laugh and praise Mara to the skies when they should've been trying to kill Mara for going after Luke. Need I remind people that Han double-backed for Luke to save him from DARTH VADER and to give him the shot at the Death Star? That LEIA told Lando to sit his kaboose down and turn the Falcon around to save Luke?

The main point of that rant is: everyone acts out of character to prop up Mara and let her be a bad-fanny who gets off scot-free of her wrongs, and lets her commit more wrongs simply because they've got the hots for her.

Katarina, however, is the exact opposite - and even treated as such in-universe.

Now, while I have some complaints about how they wrote Katarina (making her the single morally balanced child of her family should have gone to her adopted brother, especially given how indoctrinated her biological sister is), Katarina is explicitly stated to have bent over backwards to do all in her power to prove herself to her master assassin father. She memorized all the forms, became an adept killer, infiltrator, knows every form of bladed combat, even perhaps some poisons. Katarina's the best assassin in her homeland.

But it's never enough for her father.

This causes her to defy his orders and kill a high ranking target to prove herself to him, which then costs the lives of the men they were stationed with and gets her a nasty scar over her eye when her adopted brother was sent to assassinate her for her failure.

This acts as a minor wake-up call to Katarina who, while still loyally serving her empire, now knows she has no favor with her father and never will.

Additionally, Katarina knows and admits that she's not a "good girl". She makes no pretenses about being wronged by the side of the angels for her kills, acknowledges that she's callous, and never refutes her loyalty to her homeland, or the accusations that she's nothing but a lapdog killer for her emperor and thus not good enough for Garen. And that's what makes her so much more interesting, believable, and downright gripping than the, "red-gold, emerald eyed" witch of a Star Wars OC run rampant:

Katarina is honest about herself, while Mara is a liar.

The differences between these two, even when interacting with their virtuous paladins, is as stark as night and day. Because where Mara puts down, belittles, and otherwise mistreats Luke, Katarina may tease and needle Garen, but she does so without disregarding his abilities and intelligence. Unlike Mara's "farmboy" pet name, Katarina notably has no such nickname for Garen. And that is because she respects him while Mara detests what Luke is.

I apologize for how this became a shipping discourse, but I find that I can't talk about Mara without addressing her abysmal treatment of Luke. For one, the only times I've "dealt" with Mara (as you wouldn't catch me dead actively reading something where she was the star, unless Kyle Katarn was involved) were the Thrawn Trilogy and Hand of Thrawn Duology novels where Zahn beat me over the head with how perfect Mara was for Luke - and even then, I only read those books to satisfy someone else at the time.

Regardless, that's why I prefer Katarina: she may be a horribly messed up woman, but she acknowledges it and owns it as a fact of who she is. Meanwhile, Mara hides behind excuses and pretenses of change while still getting away with murder - all of which is not only granted by the fandom/characters, but often laughed over like some sick joke. Meanwhile, Katarina has her sins hanging over her head as a reminder that she and Garen, while in love and perhaps capable of making amends in the future, are worlds apart and actively discouraged from being together - at least until she can repent.

Asks can be just about them, or relating to the MW crew, since I've been drawing them interacting with the Tulpar group. (my crew has their own story, but since I had ideas, I ended up drawing them interacting with the Tulpars lol)

Cherry knows Anya from medical school, is the one primarily spending time with her

Tulpars do not know about Illya initially, and won't physically interact with him - however, they may see glimpses of his "ghost" occasionally, and overhear the group talk about him. (They might even see his body in cryo at some point)

Stefan had to kill Jimmy before the Tulpars were brought to their ship - there is an actual story reason for this that relates to Stargazer crew's own story, rather than me just not liking Jimmy & not wanting to draw him personally (which TBF is also true, but I wanted to give a proper reason for why he didn't make it, as they could've put him in their cell block)

Anya is initially scared of Stefan because she saw him kill Jimmy due to how things went down, but overtime concludes he's not a bad person and is quite caring in his own way (just reaaallllly tired most of the time)

Mara hangs out with Daisuke a lot, often they play videogames together, or Daisuke offers to help her with whatever work he can

Stefan CAN get a bit harsh and hostile towards Curly, but tends to try and keep it in check as he knows its not really helpful in any way.

Ava and Alix weren't present during the rescue, they get introduced to the four later.

Anya helps Cherry with her medic duties, since when they were rescued the SG-ship was somewhat damaged due to an "incident," and Stefan is still repairing some damage, causing Cherry to be bit more overloaded with work than normal.

Okay, I let this ask sit in my inbox for a while because, like the other people you sent this too, it comes off pretty rude and pushy. Please remember that when you're sending asks, especially one anon, your tone can't come through the screen. I don't know if you were trying to be rude, or if you were just excited, so just know that next time I get an ask like this, I won't be responding. I was also going to be mean back and swerve around the question by ranking the society members, or the teachers, or the villains, but I actually would love to rant about my faves so....here :)

12. I know everyone knows this already, but my least favorite character is Willow, I think it would have been very easy to write her out completely, I don't really care about her and Alfie's relationship, and just in general she makes me very overstimulated and in need of breaks. I love her endless positivity, but I don't really like many of her storylines, like the fact she's related to Joy, or the hedgehog fleas thing. I don't hate her, but if I went to school with her I would be avoiding her, and I say that as someone who many people would probably consider very similar to Willow. I'm sure I overwhelm people in the same way, so I am not trying to be mean or rude when I say that talking to her would be so exhausting.

11. Mick. I mean this with all peace and love, but when you love 11/12 of the main characters on a show, someone has to end up on the ends of the list. Mick is one of those characters for me. I loved his storyline about going against his dad (One of the few parents we see on the show!), I love just his general chill laid-back vibes and slight ditziness, but he left after season two, and because he left so early in season two, it felt like he wasn't there at all for that season either. I think his relationships made sense, being with Amber at first for social image, then getting with Mara as an impulse decision before realizing they aren't really meant for each other. It feels very teen. I think out of all of the characters, Mick is the one most grounded in reality, and I love that for him.

10. Eddie. Don't come for me, I beg. But hear me kindly when I say this...Eddie is just a combination of Jerome and Alfie, with slightly more street smarts and knowledge. Like, the gross food eating, the prank wars with Patricia, the suave attitude with daddy issues, the show KNEW he was so similar to them, but for some reason they didn't want to go for a Patricia x Alfie thing, and you know what, I respect that. Also totally obvious is my dislike for him being the Osirian (Even Mick would have made for an interesting Osirian if his actor didn't need to leave). BUT, I appreciate the relationships he grows with both Patricia, Mara, and his father. His and Mara's friendship are barely talked about :(

9. Alfie. Please don't kill me, please. I love Alfie, but I love the entire cast and I'm just trying to be honest here. Anyway, he had a vaguely interesting storyline for like two episodes of season one, but besides that he's fairly drama free. I love his character development, and I especially love the crush he and Piper had on each other. I also appreciate his more subtle friendships with characters like Patricia and Nina, compared to the louder relationships he had trying to court Amber, and the falling out with Jerome. He is all together an amazing character, and a solid friend.

8. Mara. I was genuinely shocked to find out that she's one of the most hated characters in the current fandom (At least Joy's not as hated as she was during the show, but poor Mara). I love Mara's character, her storylines, and her attitude. She was such a good friend to both Patricia and Eddie, she was on par with Amber's attitudes during the movie as she added herself into Sibuna without asking (Slay), and just everything about her was great! I admittedly do not like the season one storyline about Mick and the pictures, but the Vera storyline, ghost hunting storyline, and cheating plotline were all perfect. And yes, that last one is in fact why Mara won out over Alfie. Tasie's acting was fucking INCREDIBLE throughout all of season three leading up to her breakdown about Jerome. The whole revenge plotline was a little silly, but it made sense that for a teenager who doesn't know about the kidnappings, deaths, and ancient curses, this was the worst thing that could happen to her. My heart breaks for her, again the ACTING as Mara is crying and taking the things that Jerome had given to Joy. Utterly perfect.

7. Amber. PLEASE. DON'T. HURT. ME. Like Alfie, Amber is so drama free on the show, and I love that for her, I love her attitude, her loyalty. She is THE first member of Sibuna but if I'm being honest she's lowkey tied with Mara because I just love Mara so much. Past that, just like Alfie, Amber is an amazing friend on the show, she has a lot of great lines, AMAZING outfits, and I especially love her in season three right before she leaves. I also love Amber not for what she is, but for the popular headcannons the fandom has about her mother dying when she was young. I don't know, but something made up by a fandom clearly means enough to me to make her come out on top compared to Mara. But again, she is so drama free after the little spat with Mara that I can't even think of an interesting plotline about just her. Like, she had the Mick/Mara fight, which did lead to a very good Student Rep episode but like...that was one of her most interesting plotlines, and it just doesn't compare to other ones the show had going on. Season three was about to be HER season, and then she LEFT :,(

6. Patricia. Patricia is a little rough for most people to get through those first few episodes (In my opinion) but if you stick with her long enough for Rufus to start appearing she becomes AMAZING. I dislike a lot of her attitude but at the same time I love it to bits, if that makes any sense. This girl had AMAZING plotlines! The entire first season with Rufus, a secret twin, being the only one all in for Joy for the longest time before Sibuna realized something was seriously wrong. I love love love her friendship with Mara so so much (I feel like I say that all the time but APPRECIATE THEM DAMNIT). This is a weird opinion but I think Peddie is endgame, but I really don't care about their relationship. Like, they have such cute moments and I ship them, but oh my god do I need a break from them. (I think it's the repetition. There's only so many times you can throw soap/carrots/literal shit at someone before it starts to grate). I did not like the jealous act of season three but I understand it was somewhat necessary for the Sinner plotline. Also, I fucking love Sinner Patricia, so I can look past that. I love when Patricia is a vulnerable character, she is just so multifaceted and just...good. Love her to bits.

5. KT. Just to get this out of the way because we all already know, the great grandpa shit was fucking annoying but I also get her. Her grandpa just died and she was desperate to know more of her history and about the family that was supposed to love her. Leaving that at that. Anyways, I LOVE my girl KT. This girl is near to being on par with Jerome when it comes to facial expressions, especially early in season three. Also, I love her name, never understood why anyone in the fandom hated it. I like her friendship with Eddie, I like her completely obvious crushes on Amber and Joy even more. I love her personality and style, I never once thought of her as a replacement Nina like some of the fandom did in the earlier days. Also, her entire dynamic smack dab in the middle of the sinners plotline was BEAUTIFUL. The distrust and pointing fingers, my girl was speedrunning through the salem witch trials and she came out on top like a champ. So glad she finally got to meet Nina in the reunion special, I feel like she would also have a crush on her.

4. Fabian. I love this idiot nerd with all my heart. The inability to speak to women, the freakouts he has <3. Brad is so good at acting the different kind of mental breakdowns, like, Nina Leaving breakdown is a completely different vibe than Frobisher Is In My Room breakdown and they are both fantastic. That scene alone has me convinced he would be GREAT to kidnap. I love his plotlines and personality, I love his snarky little shit personality just barely below the surface. How he acts like a parent to the group and is completely incompetent. Ten out of ten character all around.

3. Nina. My girl was being put through the wringer and she was slaying her mental breakdowns just as much as Fabian. Nathalia is such a pretty crier, I die. A lot of her plots were very mystery related, but OH MY GOD THE CURSING PLOTLINE WAS FANTASTIC. Season Two was hers for the taking and she was treating it like a runway. Love her relationships with her friends, and even the relationship she was able to slowly build with Joy before leaving the show. Also, she and Joy were SLAYING those matching dresses, we love girlfriends who coordinate. She is such a solid character throughout the show, and I love her so much. 10/10.

2. Joy. I actually wrote her name down third, and then I just stared at it for the longest time, and I was like...wait do I like Joy more than Nina? And I was thinking about the entire show in retrospect, with all the character arcs and plotlines, and I erased Joy's name, and put Nina in third. So. Yeah. Anyways, Joy is basically a noncharacter in Touchstone, but she is absolutely NOT a noncharacter in the first season. Her few appearances were so...good. For one (I've said this before) Joy was already so tiny compared to her classmates. But then she's kidnapped in the first episode, and all you ever see of her later, she's being loomed over by these adults that are actively putting her in danger, even if they don't know it. She looks like a fucking baby in the scenes she's in, and my heart breaks for her. Her attitude in season one is also very despondent and almost just in acceptance of her fate. She can't warn her friends, she can't tell them what she really wants to say, she's just stuck. Her mental health is so fucked with and in the end its' all for nothing.

Also, and I will say this just once, but Patricia was fucking WRONG for saying that "Fabian wasn't Joy's to begin with". I agree with Patricia, they were never really dating and Fabian doesn't belong to Joy, but even from the few scenes in the first episode, we know Patricia is a massive fucking hypocrite because SHE was clearly trying to push them into dating, and if Joy hadn't disappeared there might have been a chance for them to date. There might not, but I just wanted to get that off my chest, that they were clearly heading in that direction. And that's another reason I LOVE Joy's character, because she perfectly embodies the whump trope of "I was taken and when I made it out of that situation, I was the one who stayed the same. The other people around me changed but I am still exactly who I was before I left, and yet they are treating me like I am the one who is so different". I FUCKING LOVE THAT TROPE.

Fuck I've only done her for season one (Haven't even said all my thoughts on that), and I still have so much more to say. I will just stop now before I cry and this becomes a 10,000 word essay.

Jerome. You fuckers all saw this coming. I don't even think I can put everything down without sounding like an idiot fangirl so I will ignore his looks and plotlines and keep it short and sweet. I love that he has depth, I love how he evolves and changes over the show, I love the fact this idiot teen was wearing suits to casual events, he is so clearly gay and we stan. Also, his relationships with EVERY character on the cast were so engaging and fun, from Alfie to Amber to Mick to Victor to Rufus to Nina. I still can't get past the fact that he called Nina "Auntie Nina" when Alfie is a little kid how fucking ADORABLE IS HE?! I love him with all my heart, literally kicking my feet as I type this lol.

Trying to play a board game with them that results in Kafka having to use her Spirit Whisper at LEAST once to get you all to calm down. Do NOT play Uno. Blade got +four carded like five times in a row, you felt so bad for him…

I think your descriptions of their sleepwear is quite spot on. As for Blade.. does.. does he sleep? I feel like.. he just only takes off his normal clothes for wash day. Otherwise he probably just has.. some ripped up, old clothing that's begging to be put out of it's misery. Kafka has to come to the rescue once again and fish out some more appropriate wear for the sleepover and force him to change into them.

As for the braid train, I love it! They're all chattering and snickering, and y/n gets to experiment with Blade's hair. I imagine they temporarily dismantle the train to look at y/n's progress on his hair, and go back into their positions after. I think Blade's hair would actually be kind of silky near the roots, and in the middle. Most likely because he uses either Kafka's, or Silverwolf's bare minimum shampoo products which is miraculous for his hair. The ends are.. crusty, to say the least. But hey! It's not everyday you get to braid and shape his hair all silly. Make most of it!

Uno is probably the only thing all of you can really play, monopoly's not interesting enough for Blade to keep his attention, and other board games like Ludo makes Silverwolf too competitive, and Kafka's tried one too many times to cheat the dice. So.. Uno's the only simple option, not like they can't cheat, but.. it's a small card game, so.. whatever. They just stay dormant. Until all of you simultaneously pulled out a +4 and Blade had to pick up almost half of the card stack.. yikes.

Pillow fighting is probably the only activity that gets Blade actively engaged,but it's not long before the threads all snap except a few and the pillow is begging for mercy, Blade swinging it with such force to the point there's only a small bunch of cotton and fabric left.. injuries are even worse than that. Sam is a hair's breadth away from shooting someone through the pillow itself. So pillow fighting is banned until both Blade and Sam learn how to take it easier.

Silver wolf staying up to play extremely late.. makes sense. She would. Forms a small tent with an ominous glow from the inside, and it's just her console. At least, she doesn't quite disturb you as much as the others.

Blade.. poor thing. He himself probably doesn't want the mara flare up. After a while of calming him down everyone's just docile and kind of concerned about his shuddering state. Except Sam, of course. Deathly iron grip. Asks if he's done and if he can go. Dude, read the room!

Breakfast! Silverwolf's definitely not awake by then. Kafka's up and ready, miraculously. She offers you.. questionable substances, if you can even call it edible. But don't worry! Just close your eyes, take a mouthful, and leave it to Kafka if your stomach feels weird. Blade.. isn't someone that's partial to cooking, but all the Stellaron Hunters quietly watch him cook from the side.. watching him struggle a bit, but manage to cook an average breakfast with a few burnt sides. And of course, y/n gets first dibs.

Hello, I was wondering if u could tell me more about the DID youtube stuff and the stuff with DissociaDID, I don't know a lick of any of that, I've only rlly watched The Entropy System, The Rings System and some of DissociaDID's educational videos fairly recently (still new to the online OSDDID community in general), all I've heard is that DissociaDID is anti-endo?

(I use DissociaDID to refer to the system as a whole. They don't have another updated system name that I am aware of.)

Hi, two people brought up something like this in my inbox, and it's worth clarifying. My point was unclear, and I'll do my best to clarify now. In my eyes, DissociaDID has come under a lot of scrunity for concerns that are valid but overblown, standards that others are not held to, ableism/fakeclaiming, and sometimes claims that are bordering on conspiracy. Unfortunately, I was pretty up-to-date on the situation, so I'll make an outline of things people were upset about.

Outdated

- Using racial terms to describe a darker-skinned alter, Nadia, when the body is white. Of my knowledge, this has not happened since. (I am white, so I can't police if you forgive them or not. This is just context.)

- Engagement with Team Piñata*. They're no longer together. End of.

- Overstating their qualifications. DissociaDID no longer states any qualifications other than being a system that does research, basically. Before, it sounded almost like they were claiming to be a mental health professional.

- They partnered with BetterHelp** at one point. They never gave a statement, but they haven't promoted it since.

Disproven/Clarified

- DissociaDID has used *very* outdated studies to support points in their older videos. This is frowned upon in scientific research, where sources become less accurate very quickly (Rule of thumb is use studies no greater than 20 years old). DissociaDID has previously referenced a study from 1902, at worst.

- Many criticise DissociaDID for coming back to YouTube just when their monetization is about to run out.

- Can handle criticism very poorly at times, which people took an issue with, especially when they were proporting themselves as mental health experts.

- Brought a flood of people to the DID community, negative attention included. Many DID YouTubers stopped posting due to the negative attention the DID community received. DissociaDID did not personally cause this, as far as I can tell.

- Diagnosis at Pottergate Center: Even if that diagnosis wasn't valid, they were also diagnosed through the NHS. (Diagnosis is sometimes referred to in ways other than pencil-and-paper diagnosis, too.)

Not sure, but hasn't come up

- Treatment of various friends in the DID community such as Bobo & Co.

General dislike (Up to you)

- Many say they are "sensationalizing" DID, due to their florid presentation (This may also be paired with fakeclaiming)

- Mara's TikTok has come under fire for posting more suggestive content. Soren stands by her right to do so, and checks it before it is posted.

Borderline conspiracy and fakeclaiming

- One system member interacted with a minor on a livestream in a somewhat suggestive manner. (Their account says minors DNI, but people argue they should have been more mindful.)

- Many people get an odd vibe from their content, since it is so polished, and argue that it doesn't reflect the reality of DID since it's so pristine.

- Some find it very odd that they advertise their Patreon with having BTS footage of them dissociating/switching.

- Some people allege DissociaDID made up her alters after reading a certain book regarding programming. Some roles/alter names/inner world details lined up.

*Team Piñata was exposed for drawing minors in inappropriate situations and possibly doing commissions of this content.

- Since DissociaDID has previously mentioned RAMCOA (or a similar term), people who believe that that phrasing is antisemitic, conspiritorial, and/or completely fake don't believe that she is a valid source of DID information

- DissociaDID has been accused of copying their trauma from other systems. The foundation of this theory rests on them malingering DID.

- (Outdated also) People used to theorize Team Piñata and DissociaDID never broke up. It has been a long time since then, and DissociaDID doesn't even mention them by name anymore.

- DissociaDID has been fighting a court battle since 2020 or so and has linked to their CrowdJustice page for a while. People theorized that they were taking the money for themselves instead. DissociaDID has stated that the funds go directly to lawyers and never enter their hands.

**BetterHelp has been criticized for its lack of quality control, especially surrounding uncertified "therapists" to conduct therapy through their service and the unprofessional behavior of therapists using the service.

So that's what I can recall at the moment. Five of the issues are up to personal opinion. Personally, I think DissociaDID has had problems but has a magnifying glass on their behavior for years. If you don't like them, please just leave them alone.

I'm glad you liked the finale but I figured I would throw my opposing thoughts into the ring on why most people (across social media, not just tumblr) didn't like it:

Eddie and Christopher didn't talk at all about returning to LA or even why Christopher left in the first place so there's absolutely no resolution to the El Paso storyline or the Kim thing. Chim just said "come back" - I'm glad Eddie is home too but what was this entire season for if that was how it was going to end?

Maddie had her baby offscreen which after all those "Athena has to help Maddie deliver the baby in a earthquake" theories passed around was kind of a letdown. Again, no emotional resonance. Personal preference here but I loathe the name and Athena's "Hi Bobby"

Chim and Athena needed a conversation but spent most of their screentime together trying to save cart guy and a random dude that the audience doesn't really care much about (I don't, at least) then a quick "Bobby would be proud". Nice I guess but there wasn't any reason for her to heal on the Chim situation that quick

The 118 was never truly in danger, Eddie saved Ravi and Buck in ten seconds. The zip line was cool but the stakes never rose so it didn't make me feel anything. The big moment was the 118 saving cart guy but their cohesion as a team in the field has never been in question, it's their cohesion as a family after Bobby that needed to be worked on and they're all still barely speaking to each other.

No resolution to the Buck and Eddie fight last episode regardless of a friendship or romance angle. Nothing on Tommy either. I could be okay with that because as you said, packed episode, but why do a Buddie PR tour right before it? If people's expectations were raised then it was because ABC did it on purpose knowing there was a fist bump at most. I didn't expect a kiss or a confession of love but I think it's fair that people were disappointed that there was literally no progress in their relationship on any level

Chim's speech was nice but ultimately empty because nothing has backed it up across multiple episodes. Mara's adoption was wonderful but it lasted all of six seconds. Bobby's death has barely been dealt with in any emotional way. Not one single storyline was given a satisfying conclusion. I'm glad Eddie is home but if that isn't built to then it's just blah. Ravi is nice but I 110% prefer Bobby so if the exchange was Ravi for Bobby then that's a gigantic negative to me

my first reaction to this was like, okay but who even asked lmao. but that's on me since i'm irritable af lately sooooo let's discuss since you took your time to write this i guess

first of all i enjoyed the finale for reasons i'll be explaining and all the negativity i've been seeing online (only tumblr, because i don't mess with X) has really just. brought me down. as per usual. one of the things i used to like about 911 was the fandom, the sense of comunnity there was, and i really liked engaging with people here. lately though it feels as if nobody even fucking likes the show, all i see are complains and people angry at everything. and like, it's just a tv show, can't people just enjoy things nowadays? but maybe that's just a me thing.

anyway the post got way too fucking long but more on the points anon made under the cut:

re: eddie and chris. the show has never been big on telling every single thing. we only see big conversations some of the time, and fights are almost never solved by talking. and we did see eddie and chris make up on our screens! they were never going to talk about kim because she was no longer relevant (they let this thing go on for too long and probably the GA wouldnt even remember her if she was brought up again) and chris staying in texas had more to do with eddie's feelings of inadequacy as a father and his parents trying to keep him away than the original sin, so to speak. tbh, i'd expect an offhand mention of how "things are better now" next season and that's it. do you guys even remember how the show dealed with shannon's passing back then? i was never really expecting to have them SAY the words on screen. also, it's was implied that eddie would no longer ASK chris to live with him, instead he'd dad up and just tell him. so the way they ended that storyline checks out for me. was it entirely satisfiying? idk i'd have loved for chris to have more lines during those last few scenes, but that's mostly because i missed him.

the han's baby number one (aka jeeyun) was born under extreme circumstances. madney's entire plot that season was about the pregnacy, starting with being apart bc of the pandemic, and then the birth was built up for at least 2 episodes, then there was albert's accident during blindsided, etc. and even after, maddie's ppd plot spanned all of s5, and a bit of s6. they were never going to replicate something remotely close- tim did explicitly that that chapter is closed, any new babies were always gonna have a nice and safe birth experience (*side eyes the throat-slashing*), even when they did acknowledge the past struggles, we were reassured then that things are better and they were ready to move on from that. if anything i was confused about the timeline bc i felt like maddie was pregnant for like a year but also for only 2 months. anyway. another thing is that to me baby han number 2 was a plot device from the beggining, both for the surprise mid season finale baby announcement and now for the name reveal. mostly because of my first point i'm okay with the birth being off-screen.

honestly i couldn't care less about the athena-helps-deliver-baby theory bc it never made much sense to me? and after they set up the athena-chim debacle the previous episodes it was pretty much obvious that they were going to be trapped together so athena could face bobby's death and accept it. and again: they didn’t "spend all that time rescuing a rando"- this is the definition of the job, they're first responders above all, they ARE going to constantly be saving random people. and they're going to give them their all as if they were saving a loved one because that's the life they chose and they fucking love it. honestly, cart cop guy did get the treatment bobby should have gotten, yes, but the point of the show is that any and all of us has the right to be given that. no matter how much of an asshole they are, or if they're a fucking saint: everyone deserves to be saved. i missed bobby wildly and i feel it was fucking unfair to let him go like that during the contagion arc, as a character, but in universe? chim and athena would never not do what they did. and frankly i feel like they needed that connection, as i said chim being alive was forcing athena to confront bobby being dead, and she didn’t want to accept that, so she got angry at him instead. grief is fucking unfair like that. so once she reconnected with chim as a person, and with cart cop's sacrifice mirroring bobby's, she was able to see chim not giving up on him like he wouldn't have given up on bobby, just like bobby didn’t give up on chim. and so she could accept his sacrifice. so yeah, i'm happy with that.

btw i'm kinda neutral about the name- i loved that they chose robert, of course, but the nash part is just. weird ngl. but athena saying hi bobby as closing line? i thought it was sweet! a classic, if you will. lacks creativity, at worst.

i agree that the buddieravi rescue had low stakes, but that wasn't the point of the scene for me, since the high stakes rescue was athena-chim. remember in s2, when buddie were on the high-rise rescuing ali, and hen got trapped underground? guess who was never in actual danger? anyway, that one was more about establishing eddie's return as a necessity for eddie himself (not for us, since we obviously wanted him back), for him to realize he is an essential, indispensable part of the 118, bc if it wasn't for him coming to help buckravi wouldn't have been rescued on time, nobody would have thought of that stunt, etc. the point is that eddie's out-of-the-box quick thinking got them to safety on time, and no one else could have done that. nah, this was all you. oh and also the building collapsing just as buck crossed over was reminiscent of that moment in the earthquake arc with the elevator and buck dodging it. as you said, lower stakes, but helps solidify eddie's feelings and doubts about texas, and i felt that he was looking for last minute flights more on obligation than anything, because he wasn't 100% sure yet, he still has trouble choosing his joy, and buck's transfer request earlier on the episode and chim's speech at the end gave him that last little push he needed, because he got the reasurance that the 118 needed him.

the 118's work as a team had been fractured since bobby's death and cart-cop's rescue worked to show them realizing that they can do this without him. and none of us like to be reminded of this, but when people die, the world keeps spinning, and life goes on. it is healthy to move on, to find your footing after someone dies, and of course a high stress job like theirs forces them to come to terms with it faster because it's life or death, and they did so during the rescue. and their cohesion as a family was worked on through the job, because those two aspects of their dynamics are intertwined intrinsecaly and when they were able to work through their issues on the field, they were shown to return to that point where they can all be together to celebrate life and joy as a family- this time having all of them (minus chris! i missed him there terribly!) at the hospital meeting baby han.

regarding the buddie fight, we did get resolution, in the same freaking episode. i know people wanted eddie to explicitly say "i'm sorry" and felt like his apology was lackluster, but i personally felt like it was very in character. he's an actions-instead-of-words kind of guy, buck is the one who needs words. last time they fought, buck was arguably in the wrong so he needed to say his apology and hear that he was forgiven; this time, since eddie was (understandably) very much unfair and a dick to buck, it was his turn to apologize- but of course we wouldn't get to see a heartfelt conversation, because he's always shown buck his love through christopher (something i've talked about before), so acknowledging he was a dick + giving buck chris? i felt it was enough, was completely in character, and is also on theme with the show don't tell vibe they've been going with for a while.

on the tommy front, well, I haven't seen the contagion arc, only watched some scenes later, so i might be wrong, but to me it felt like having tommy help buck was more of an olive branch so they could move past the fight and let their relationship rest in peace. now we're in a place were, if necessary, they can bring tommy back at some point, but personally (and i got the sense the cast felt the same lmao) i don't think it will happen.

bestie i've been here for years. they spent the entire ryliver tour saying buddie wasn't happening this week and it didn't. it is kinda our fault for not believing them.

what do you mean chim's speech was empty? i think it's the total opposite! as i said the 118 was fractured since bobby's death, chimney above everyone has felt that, and we have repeatedly been shown and explicitly told that chimney is the heart of the 118. if anyone was going to say that, to make everyone stay were they are needed, to help everyone remember that the 118 isn't just a job but they're family- it would be chim, of course. and tbh i agree with every single word he said, idk, maybe yall's opinion is a bit clouded by other negative emotions, but the speech to me also served a main purpose of further solidifying chimney's place as the 118's new leader and possible captain- and that was built up with hen's hesitance and later decision to not accept the role, and with the cart-cop rescue where, when the team was together, he was the one to give orders and everyone followed, and they were able to do a succesfull rescue thanks to him. and also to remind us as the audience that bobby's legacy is the family built in that firehouse. that nothing will ever be the same because bobby is gone, but we need to embrace that and remember that the heart of the show isn't a single character, but the dynamics between all of them,

also i was kind of joking when i said bobby died so we could have ravi main for s9. of course it's not a fair exchange, but one i'll gladly accept IF it happens.

i hope you see my point of view and why i'm satisfied with the finale, though i don't expect you to agree with me, you said your piece and now i've said mine. i also should note that i didn't interact much with the fandom during 8b so my expectations were different. i also went through a big loss in my family during s8, so it gives me both emotional distance and the ability to connect with other aspects of the show during all this. 911 is my comfort show, and honestly the grief arc after bobby's death has felt real to me, has helped me accept some of the things that happened in my family after my abuela's death, and also work through my own grief. and i get that that's a unique experience, just as everyone's experience is, but it's really discouraging to see everyone just be negative and hateful all the time.

i get that theories and collective clowning are really fucking fun, but you should also be able to manage you expectations, be realistic and accept that not every fan theory will be true, and that the show will not always give the audience what they want (which is something tim and the cast has also repeatedly stated). and also: we're not in the writer's room, as much as we'd like to be and, i've been here long enough to trust the writers to be as true to the characters as possible, and to have learned that i need to watch the show for what it is and not what we make it to be in our collective hive mind.

lastly, please, and this goes for everyone, if the show no longer brings you joy- nobody's forcing you to watch. i get that we need a space to vent, but maybe- maybe flooding a space with negativity and then stewing in those emotions isn't as healthy as it seems! look for the brightside, be grateful that we have such a great cast and crew creating something for our enjoyment, that they give so much love to it. oh and also fuck tim minear :)
