The tomarry micro trope that gets me giggling every time is when Tom is trying to find a way to make Harry immortal with him because he's THAT obsessed and that much of a simp, meanwhile Harry's either knowingly or unknowingly immortal already, either from being Tom's horcrux or being the master of death
And I just love it
Tom: here, I've found a ritual to bind your life to mine so we can both live forever!
Harry:
Harry: Tom I CANT DIE

Look, it's been awhile since I've been in the Harry Potter Fandom, and all the things with the author makes it hard to go back to(except the stories that were written before all was revealed) but this thing demanded to be written and I was possesed until it was done so, for those of you that still enjoy the fandom, have a little thought.
-
Death has known Harry his whole life, from that fatefull killing curse to the one in the Forbidden Forest, he's been by his side.
He sat with him while Severus Snape cradled his mother as Harry cried, He held him in the tiny cupboard after a beating too harsh, as hunger atempted to bring him closer to that final breath.
He stood behind him when he encountered Tom Riddle Jr for the first time, (the second time), He knelt before him as Fawkes cried for him, He watched him as Harry battled his minions for Sirius Black's soul and the boy's own.
He flew with him against a dragon, swam with him to the depths of a lake, He stayed with him in a graveyard as he stood before Tom Riddle Jr's insanity.
He watched over him as he crept into the Hall of Prophecies, sat with him as he mourned Sirius Black's fall, He stayed with him though his journey to find all the ways Tom Riddle Jr attempted to avoid Him.
But you cannot avoid Death, not for long, Death is inevitable, it's the end that comes to all, from the smallest single celled organism to the great trees that span the world, it comes to them all, just as, eventually, it will come to the very planet.
Yes, Death has known Harry Potter his entire life, and chose him for His Master long before Harry knew of the Hallows.
He chose him when those green eyes looked up at Him as Tom Riddle Jr turned his wand to the boy, as the tiny boy raised his chubby arms up and smiled at Death while Tom Riddle Jr spoke those two words that would take the life of a child, a child who accepted Death openly, willingly, with a smile and trust.
And Death sat with that child as He twisted a Mother's sacrifice into a protection that would last a childhood.
He flew alongside a motorbike as they journeyed across a rejoycing people, He cradled a sleeping boy while the moon was high and sang lullabies as he was left to cry alone in his cupboard.
He watched as childish drawings and writings filled the small space and made it their own, He petted sweaty hair as the child suffered his illnesses without care or kindness.
Death gathered him up after Tom Riddle Jr's host fell to the protection Death weaved of Lily Potter's sacrifice, held him and whispered stories that Harry was not ready to remember, one day, when Harry was old and grey, when time was no longer his friend, when the last of his loved ones were collected.
Only then would Death reveal Himself, only then would He finally be free to collect His heir.
Death comes to all, even Death Himself eventually.

Tom is not nervous; that would be ridiculous.
He has been waiting for this moment for years. It is now so close—literally in the palm of his hand—so he is not nervous. Still, he takes a deep breath, suddenly lightheaded, and reminds himself to continue steadily breathing.
Much to the insistence of his peers, when Tom turned seventeen last December, he quickly took advantage of the remaining holiday break and apparated to Gringotts for a Blood Inheritance test. Upon discovering his ancestry (unsurprising, but the confirmation was most definitely appreciated), he read through the dusty old grimoires left in his family vault and catalogued the sparse artefacts.
Most were utterly destroyed with time. Whatever charms had protected each item had long since wavered, with no one to recast them. However, he was able to salvage one.
He admires the dull shine of the golden band and the gleaming black stone of the Gaunt Ring. This heirloom, his heirloom (and isn’t that still a thrilling thought), has been a welcome companion these past several months. And now, on this cool Samhain night, it awaits his command.
The grimoires had no recent entries. Most seemed to stop well before this century, but what remained still gave startling insight. So as written, Tom twists the ring once, twice, and on the final spin, he watches as a faint light starts glowing and growing in intensity.
“This is it,” he shudders. The ring gets colder and nearly unbearable to hold. “I finally get to meet-“
Suddenly its light dims to something not much more substantial than a Lumos, and—he’s taken aback because surely not—classical music plays from the ring’s stone. It’s a quiet and peaceful melody that he swears is coming more from his head than anywhere else.
“We’re sorry,” A deep guttural and grinding voice speaks out, causing Tom to flinch and cover his ears. A terrible mistake, he quickly realises, as the ring presses the words louder and closer into his ear. “But the deceased you are summoning is currently unavailable.”
Unavailable?
Bewildered, Tom asks, “What?” But the voice carries on without pause.
“Your reunion is important to us. Please hold while we connect you with the next available Master of Death.”
“What?!” Panicking as the stone grows brighter than it ever had, Tom throws the ring some meters away, reflexively shields his head with his arms and waits for some sort of impact-explosion-something because what bloody else would be happening-!
Everything is eerily quiet for far too long until he hears soft footsteps snapping the fallen twigs littering the ground and a susurration of robes over leaves, their sound coming steadily closer.
“For someone who has done the unimaginable and gone out of their way to escape Death’s inevitable clutch, you are a sorry sight. Definitely not what I was expecting.”
Tom peeks through his arms. He first notices stars on a black so dark he is sure he had fallen over and was now staring at the night sky from his attempt to brace himself. His eyes follow the trickling pattern, nearly alive with movement until it stops, a sharp divide against the smooth column of a throat.
The celestial embodiment of the Black Family Tree continues, “You look like a rollie pollie. Do they have those in this dimension?”
Embarrassed, Tom realises he hadn’t fallen. No, he only tucked into himself much like he used to do at the orphanage long before he came into his specialness, his magical-ness, and figured out how to fight back.
He stands quickly, brushes his shoulder, casting a wandless cleaning charm with the movement, and looks up, only for his words to die before he can even open his mouth.
He never knew eyes could be such a beautiful shade of green.

Short Fic: Rise Forgetful From Your Sleep
Tumblr media
Happy late Valentine’s Day! (???)  Here’s a dash of romance mixed with some light horror for no real reason except that I couldn’t get the idea out of my head today.
Rise Forgetful From Your Sleep (G, 1,500 words) -  Draco finds Harry Potter waiting for him at the Manor. But Potter has been dead for ten years.
*****
When Draco returns to Malfoy Manor, everything is dark. The moon is clouded over, only the faintest beams of anemic light cutting through the gloom.
The house should not be so quiet. The blackness of the night should not be so absolute.
Something is wrong.

Okay correct me if i’m wrong but,
Harry potter held all 3 deathly hollows, correct? And by doing so, the person will become the master of death, right?
And we know that the god of death in greek mythology is Thanatos?
So, if Harry actually knew about it (because i don’t know if he does currently) then he could theoretically meet Thanatos in the underworld right? And he would get the chance to meet Thanatos?
Well, i want a book. One where Nico Di Angelo, Son of Hades, Ambassador of Pluto, Ghost King, meets Harry Potter, Chosen One, Golden Boy, The Boy Who Lived, in the underworld while they meet up with their respective gods.
They would both be wary and surprised of each other because ‘who else can stay alive in the underworld and leave and come back?’ Then they would slowly start seeing eachother more and more, and they are like, ‘what IS he doing here?’ And so they start asking around about each other, going ‘who’s that emo dude who walks around everywhere? No not that one, the one who is still alive and has the aviator jacket sometimes?’ Or ‘Hey, You. Who is the guy that has the lighting bolt scar? No, not blondie he has a staple scar. I am talking about the black haired one, you know, with green eyes?’
They would learn from the ghosts and others who they are and then they would see eachother and then BOOM A LOVE FANFIC OR JUST FRIENDS IDK BUT PLSSSSSSS
