The mini Batgirl keychain took me WAY longer than it should have, but I think it came out okay :3

I had way too much fun doodling these mini versions of Steph, Babs, Dick and Tim. (Sorry for the shit quality, I have no clue why they ended up looking so scrungled *sobs*)

Also Cass's hair this time was inspired by her look in Spirit World

Idk what else to say other than that I had a lot of fun working on this one. This is probably my favorite piece of fan art that I've ever done :3

THE DARK ERA - 黒の時代

#bungou stray dogs #bungo stray dogs #bsd #bsd fanart #bsd oda #bsd odasaku #osamu dazai and the dark era #a little dark era piece inspired by wanderer above the sea of fog by caspar david friedrich #i was intending to do a nice gentle illustration in honour of oda but it has ended up very dramatic as often happens asdffdgsd #and then i thought it would look quite cool as a book/movie cover so i added the text and made a nice mock-up!#i'm always keen to do artwork that has literary influence on the characters' birthdays so i might try to do another small little drawing #but i think i just wanted to represent how cool he is as a character! and how atmospheric and moving this arc is #i think it's the point which heightened my interest in the series - oda is so interesting and lovely #he is so fundamental to so much of the narrative too - it's quite fascinating #...also dazai is technically here but i won't tag him asdfgfdg #botanautical #tw blood

i think ch. 76 of dunmeshi is so good bc whether you view it in a labru way or not, we've got these excellent pages of kabru repeatedly reaching out towards laios

there are so many panels of kabru getting increasingly desperate to keep laios there, not because he's evil and wants to kill laios or whatever, but because so much of dunmeshi was kabru failing to keep his attention, despite doing everything that should have worked (little did he know he just had to tag along with shuro). we see kabru fumble through words that won't convince him and kabru struggles with what he should and shouldnt reveal about himself, and finally gives up that act and blurts out his full, true honest feelings, and stuns himself

he SMACKS his hand back over his mouth like, "AHEM, excuse me, no of course i didnt feel something as silly and illogical as that-" but then laios starts to outright laugh about his very serious actions about him, and he gets snaps again

laios' dismissal once again causes kabru to open up, and stay honest this time

kabru really spends a lot of his time getting his ass beat, or in bad situations in general due to his self sacrificial goal in trying to save the people on the island, but i think its good he finally outright says what he wants, too, even if laios is essential for his plan, but he does want to be friends with him, too.

i think this final scene where he takes a turn despairing also shows that his request to laios was truly what he wanted. he finally had a genuine moment of asking something of another person, instead of doing his duty to save this island and prevent a disaster, and he thinks he fucked up, but he really did have a selfish moment (and honestly his success in getting thru to laios helped undo the damaga mithrun did to marcille, which lead to laios forming his plan later).

#personal #ch 76 really is the ultimate kabru chapter i think just bc he lays everything out #and kabru's use of his hands is so good. he's reaching. he's literally covering his mouth. he's snapping lol #the last pic feels like a bad one to end on but imagine him hugging laios. i didnt wanna make the post any longer #kinda didnt wanna mention mithrun in the end but i think the canaries are an important contrast to laios and kabru.#the canaries repeatedly escalate the situation and lycion mocks kabru's attempts. mithrun of course was more firm in suggesting to #kill laios and obviously went for the kill first w marcille and thistle before speaking. u have kabru trying so hard w lycion on the side #like 'wtf' and the rest of the elves casually ignoring all the humans at every step. kabru tries soo hard and has to deal w all these #ppl who wont give him the time of day so he has to come up w these plans to be successful
