Stripper
Y/N: Hey mom! Hey dad! Momo, Spidey boy. Have a good day, you guys.
Pepper: We already did that.
Tony: It's 3:30...
Morgan: How are you just waking up?
Y/N: I set my alarm for noon. I must've slept through it. I was working late promoting a new club. Oh, by the way, here is the insurance money.
*hands Pepper a wad of cash all in $1 bills*
Pepper: Thank you...
Peter: A lot of singles in there.
Happy: What exactly do you do at this club?
Y/N *sarcastic*: Oh, right. 'Cause I'm a stripper, Happy. Hehe...
*silence*
Y/N: OH MY GOD! Do you really think I'm a stripper?!
*Pepper drops the wad of cash*
Everybody: No.....
Rhodey: Yes!!

Second Chance - Chapter 2
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Warning: mention of chemotherapy and symptoms, mention of death
Word count: 3.3k
Tony held open the door for you to head back into the tower. Exhaustion was the best way to describe how you were feeling. Every part of your body was sore. To your surprise, a small body ran into your legs. You looked down at a young girl with shoulder-length brown hair and eyes identical to yours and Tony’s. “Hi,” you smiled. She blinked up at you. You could see the gears in her brain trying to figure out who you were. “You must be Princess Morgan I’ve heard so much about.” It was a little white lie. The CEO and billionaire kept their daughter out of the limelight as best as possible. But they did announce her birth. She took a step back, glancing behind you to look at her mom and dad.
“Who are you?” She asked. You smiled. Now that was a complicated question as it wasn’t a simple answer. How do you tell a child that you were her sister?
“I’m a friend of your dad's,” it wasn’t a total lie but not the full truth. You didn’t like lying to kids just because they were younger wasn’t a good enough reason to lie to them. “We haven’t seen each other in a long time.”
“Why is that?” One of the reasons you loved kids so much was their thousand and one questions. You heard hurried footsteps walking behind the younger girl. It was the Black Widow.
“Sorry, Pepper,” she said. “This little nugget is very sneaky.” She attacked Morgan’s sides which made the girl dissolve into a fit of giggles.
“Don’t worry about it Nat,” the CEO said. “We are done talking.” Morgan gasped suddenly, bringing the attention back to her.
“If you're friends with my daddy, does that make us friends?” She asked. Ah. The minds of children were so simple, you envied them.
“Do you want to be friends?” You questioned. She nodded, jumping on the balls of her feet.
“New friend, new friend. Let’s go play,” she grabbed your hand.
“Morgan,” Pepper’s voice was stern with a hint of amusement at her daughter but Morgan stopped in her tracks. “You have to ask before you drag someone off.” She sighed, dropping her hand.
“Can you play with me?” She asked. Oh, it was so hard for you to say no to little kids. You saw Pepper speak with eyes, ‘You don’t have to.’ But you nodded.
“Lead the way, Princess Morgan,” she giggled, grabbing your hand again and dragging you off.
*
Pepper watched with a fond smile on her face as the duo ran off. She was surprised by how well you handled everything. You had to be no more than 25 but you walked around with such grace and a positive outlook on the world. She looked at her husband, who has been oddly quiet since they learned of your condition. “Are you okay?” She asked, rubbing his arm. Her gentle touch seemed to snap him out of his trance.
“FRIDAY, please call all available Avengers to the conference room,” he ordered the AI. “Tell them it’s urgent.” He took off towards the conference room without another word. Natasha raised her eyebrow, questioning his odd behavior but Pepper shook her head. It was better to explain it once. She and Natasha walked to the conference room in comfortable silence. There weren’t many Avengers in the tower. Kate and America were on a mission, Yelena was in St. Petersburg, Bruce took a short trip to New Asgard, and Rhodey was in DC with Maria and Nick. Once the fight with Thanos was over, the Avengers went back home and tried to help those who came back. Her mind seemed to wander back to you. Were you part of the population that Thanos’ snapped away?
She remembered reading about Jessica’s passing. Their paths crossed once at a conference in DC and Pepper would have never guessed she had a daughter. A daughter who shared half the DNA with her own. It was a small world.
When Pepper entered the conference room Tony was already standing up front. She chose to stand next to him, offering any support she could give him. “I appreciate all of you coming on such short notice.”
“What’s going on Stark?” Steve questioned.
“It has to be serious. I’ve never seen him like this.” Sam mumbled.
“That’s because it is serious,” he snapped. The Avengers looked at each other, having a silent conversation with one another. They’ve done enough missions together to speak without saying anything. Tony sighed. “Sorry,” he apologized. “As many of you know, Y/n claims to be my daughter. Her mother and I were together before Pepper and I.”
“Where is her mother?” Bucky asked.
“Dead,” Pepper answered. “She died in a car accident a few years ago.”
“She has cancer,” Tony told the team. Pepper could hear the slight shake in his voice showing how much this was affecting him. It was a lot. A stranger showed up, claiming to be his daughter, and telling them she needs help. “Chemotherapy isn’t working anymore. She needs a bone marrow transplant if not she has 6 months to live.”
“Jesus,” Sam mumbled.
“I’m sorry, Tony,” Natasha said. “But I’m a little confused about why you called a meeting to tell us this.” Pepper was with the Black Widow on this. It made sense to tell the team all at once but she saw Tony chew on the inside of his cheek.
“My guess is Mr. Stark is going to ask if you all can see if you are a match for Miss. Easton. Only 2% of the entire population are registered bone marrow donors,” Vision said, leaning back in his chair. “It’s a 1% chance for a parent to match their child, 50% for siblings, and 29%-79% for everyone else.” Tony nodded, resting his hand on his chin.
“I’m asking a lot,” he said. “Especially to help a total stranger but I’m all she has left.”
“You're wrong, Tony,” Wanda smiled. “She has us.” Pepper looked at the Sokovian.
“I’m guessing you knew,” the CEO said. A slight blush rose on her cheeks as she nodded.
“As soon as she introduced herself. For someone so young, she’s not scared.”
 *
You glanced over Morgan’s shoulder as you heard footsteps approaching. It was Pepper. “Come on, come on,” she tugged on your arm. “You have to continue the story!” All her toys were laid out in a makeshift battlefield, two sides facing each other. You smiled at the CEO before returning your attention to the young girl.
“So there they stood, the king's men facing the Swarm’s army. The king’s army were strong men who were called forth to protect their homes. But,” you picked up a stuffed animal. It was a dragon, a gift from Natasha and Bucky that Morgan informed you of. “The Swarm didn’t just have men but a dragon that breathed fire,” you noticed Pepper being more interested in the story. You set the plushie down. “The king’s hand steps forward, with the spellbound sword ready to fight the dragon. But a voice in the crowd told him to stop,” Morgan was bouncing where she sat. “The king’s daughter, Princess Phoebe stood forward and took the sword. She faced the army,” You choose one of her Barbie's as the princess, maneuvering her arm to mimic she was holding a sword over her head. “And she said, ‘I will kill the dragon and lead this army to victory. Who will join me?’ But no one stepped forward.” Morgan gasped. “The princess wasn’t worried. She knew she would have to earn the men’s trust. So, she faced the dragon,” You grabbed the plushie. “Alone.”
“What happened? Did she win?” She asked. You sighed.
“It was a long and hard fight,” you paused for dramatic effect. “She killed the dragon, led her father’s army to victory, and became the first Queen to sit on the throne of Krucia.” Morgan jumped up to her feet and cheered at your story's ending. She saw Pepper standing in the doorway.
“Mommy, did you hear?” She ran over to her, throwing her body at her legs. “The princess won! She won!” You smiled at the interaction, it made you miss your mom.
“I did,” the CEO smiled. “What do you say to Y/n?” She let go of her mother’s legs and ran back over to you. You were surprised when she hugged you tight.
“Thank you for playing with me,” you hugged her back. “Can you tell me another story?”
“Maybe tomorrow. I have to come up with another one. Now let’s clean up your toys,” the pout that formed on her face made you laugh. “If Princess Phoebe can beat a dragon you can clean up your toys,” you said, tapping her nose. She sighed but nodded. It didn’t take long for you both to put her toys away and the playroom was soon spotless.
“Morgan,” Pepper said, once the last toy was put away. “Your father wants to see you in his lab.”
“Am I in trouble?” She asked. You stifled your laughter at Pepper’s reaction, not expecting her daughter’s question.
“Did you do something to get in trouble?” Pepper countered. Morgan shrugged, skipping past her mother. You giggled, slowly standing, and ignored the ache in your body. “Not many people get her to clean up her toys. I may have to steal that story.”
“Go for it,” you said, placing your bag on your shoulder. “I have a ton of them.” You smiled. “I draw comic books,” you answered Pepper’s unasked question. “I learned that I can hold a child’s attention longer with pictures instead of words. I bet I’ve made up stories about all of you.” She laughed.
“You’ll have to show us them. I’ll show you to your room.” You followed the CEO to the elevator. She told you that she was taking you to the floor below her and Tony’s. You were grateful they were giving you a place to stay, especially with how tired you were. She must have seen it in your eyes as she rubbed your back and opened the door for you.
You were shocked, yet not surprised to see a small apartment. The door opened to a personal kitchen and a living space. Pepper walked into the living room which consisted of a dining room table, couch, and TV, and opened up the blinds to show the view of the city. “Tony knows how to spend his money for the best views,” you mumbled, walking over to the window.
“You aren’t wrong,” Pepper said, glancing over to you. “He rented out the top of the Empire State Building for date night.” You smiled.
“Romantic.” It was. If you had a partner and the money to spoil them like that you would do the same thing.
“Your room is over here,” she said, leading you down a hallway, past a small closet, and into a bedroom. It was simple. A queen-sized bed was pushed against the wall with a private bathroom and closet. “We’ll make a trip to your apartment to get your things and if you need anything ask FRIDAY. She’ll order it for you.” You nodded, sitting on the bed.
“Thank you,” you said. “I know I came here and turned everyone’s life upside down so I appreciate it.”
“Your family,” she said simply. “Besides with this group it’s the most normal thing,” you laughed which quickly turned into a yawn. “Get some sleep and come find me if you need anything.”
“Thank you, Pepper.” She smiled and left your room. When you heard the door close, you let out a slow breath. You felt a weight lifted off your shoulders on how well today went. But you knew you had to be realistic. Even though they agreed to help doesn’t mean they will be matched. It was a small percentage that Tony would be a match. There was a Plan B. It took a very long time for your doctor to convince you to reach out to the billionaire. Doctor Lucas Carpenter. He was a family friend and he had the honor to watch you grow up, something he liked to remind you every single day. So Plan B was to increase your chemo dosage and the frequency of the treatment.
You rubbed your forehead and emptied your bag onto the bed. You plugged in your phone charger and attached your phone. The pill counter you used was put on the bathroom counter and the rest of your belongings were thrown on the floor to be dealt with later. You climbed underneath the covers, taking off your beanie and throwing it on top of your bag. It wasn’t long before the exhaustion of the day caught up with you and you fell asleep.
*
“Daddy!” Morgan ran into her father’s lap. Tony had just enough time to set the swabs down before catching his youngest. “Mommy said you wanted to see me.”
“And what has Mommy said about running in my lab?” He asked. She smiled.
“But she isn’t here now.” Tony sighed, shaking his head with a soft smile on his face. The billionaire sat Morgan down on his workbench.
“I need you to use your best listening skills,” he tickled right underneath her ears. Her laughter echoed in the quiet lab. It was music to Tony’s ear and a wonderful reminder of the life he had. But it made him wonder what he missed with you. “Y/n needs our help,” he continued once her laughter calmed down.
“Help?” She repeated back to him. “Is she okay? I was just playing with her.”
“She’s sick,” Tony simply said. He wasn’t sure how to explain a topic like cancer to his youngest. He and Pepper tried to shield the darker parts of the world from Morgan and they did their best. But she was smart and knew that sometimes her daddy, aunts, and uncles had to go away to keep the world safe. “And we could help her. Do you want to try?” She nodded. He grabbed two cotton swabs, he purposely didn’t do it with the others so he could show Morgan. “I’m going to do a swab of your mouth like his,” he made sure to get the inside of both of his cheeks. Once he was done, he put it in a bag. “See simple. Are you ready?” He wasn’t going to force her to do it if he didn’t want to. She stared at the cotton swap.
“Will it hurt?” She whispered. Tony shook his head.
“It’ll just tickle,” he said. He wasn’t going to go into detail about the procedure if they were a match. They couldn’t get ahead of themselves. Morgan opened her mouth and Tony quickly swapped both of her cheeks. “There,” he sealed her sample and labeled it. “All done. Thank you, sweetheart. You're my hero.” Morgan shook her head, hugging her father.
“I’m not a superhero, Daddy, you are.” At the moment, Tony didn’t feel like one. He was angry that Jessica kept you from him. Tony kissed the top of her head.
“I love you 3000,” he whispered.
“Love you too Daddy.”
*
“Wake up, sleepyhead,” you heard a calming voice pull you out of your dream state. “Come on. We can’t sleep anymore.” You were awake but you did not want to be. Groaning, you buried your head deeper into the pillow.
“Don’t wanna,” you mumbled. Someone giggled. You opened your eyes, peeking to the side, and saw that it was Wanda. “What time is it?” You asked, flopping onto your back.
“7 o’clock,” your eyes widened. You got to the tower around 1300 and fell asleep around 1430, you did not mean to sleep for that long. “You’ve had a busy day and we wanted you to rest. But dinner is ready and you need to eat.” That was true. You had a small breakfast due to your nerves and the crackers she got you for lunch.
“Thank you,” you said, sitting up. “Give me a second and we can head down.” You walked into the bathroom, splashing cold water on your face.
“We are having lasagna,” she told you. You opened your pill container and pulled out an anti-nausea pill, just in case. “We weren’t sure what you liked.”
“That’s fine,” you stepped out of the bathroom and picked up the beanie on the ground, whipping it off before placing it on your head.
“I want you to know you don’t have to wear a beanie in front of us,” you shrugged.
“It’s second nature to wear it,” you told her as you walked out of your room and to the front door. “Most people stare at me and I get uncomfortable. So who lives on this floor?” You asked her as you waited for the elevator. Wanda explained each floor had 4 apartments and a common space to share. Peter, Kate, and America were on your floor.
“But America is usually in Kate’s room. They’ve been dating for a few months.” Cute. You were excited to meet them. When the metal doors opened, the smells hit you immediately. You scrunch your nose, hiding your disgust as you scratch your nose. It was the worst part of chemo. Not the hair loss or the fatigue, your taste buds and sense of smell changed. Going to grocery stores was a nightmare. It was a common side effect of chemotherapy and it would go away once the treatment was over. But now it was killing you especially since you loved cooking. Cooking was a way to communicate when you didn’t know the language or the way to learn about a different culture. It was a beautiful art form and it was impossible to cook when your senses were out of whack. It changed from day to day. Some foods made you nauseous but a week later it was your comfort food. It was annoying.
Natasha went to hand you a plate but you held up your hand, showing her the pill in your hand. She nodded, placing the plate on the counter. You quickly filled up a glass of water and took the pill. It was the tomato sauce and garlic that were causing your stomach to twist and turn. “Are you okay?” Tony asked. You nodded, filling up the glass.
“Worst part of chemo,” you smiled. “My sense of smell and taste gets all weird.” You put some salad on your plate and opted out of the garlic bread, which hurt because you loved garlic bread. Tony smiled sadly.
“We’ll figure it out, kid,” he said, placing a gentle hand on your shoulder. It felt a little weird, receiving comfort from a man that was missing your entire life. You placed your hand on top of yours.
“Yeah, we will.” Morgan wanted to sit next to you. So you sat next to her and Tony and Pepper on the other side of Morgan. Natasha sat in front of you with Bucky next to her. You kept out of the conversation, trying to focus on keeping the food you were eating down.
“So,” Natasha said, directing the table to you. “Tell us about yourself.” You whipped your mouth with a napkin.
“Like what my favorite color is?” You questioned with a teasing smile. Natasha rolled her eyes, mumbling under her breath, ‘Great now there are two of them.’ You laughed. “I was homeschooled until I reached college. I double majored in marine biology and mechanical engineering then I got my doctorate in marine biology. I lived on a sailboat for a little bit.”
“By yourself?” Steve questioned. You nodded, taking the last bite of your salad. You wondered if they noticed your untouched lasagna.
“Aren’t you a little young to be living on a sailboat and getting your doctorate?” You shrugged. Probably.
“I graduated college when I was 15,” you simply said, cheeks burning at their impressed looks. You didn’t like to make a big deal of your accomplishments because you knew you were lucky to have the resources to accomplish everything. But you didn’t miss the proud smile on Tony’s face. And you smiled back.

Halloween with the starks
Tumblr media
summary: the title explains it all 💀
Warnings:
A/N: yes, I know peter isn't a stark but I included him anyway. And also let's pretend that tony never.....waahhhhhhh-
+•°+*°•++•°+*°•++•°+*°•++•°+*°•+
You hopped out of bed, immediately running over to your closet. Tripping since you hadn't even stretched before jumping out of bed, you quickly threw on your previously hidden costume, stepping in front of the mirror to (check yourself out) see how it looks,
It was an iron man costume, with a glow up arc reactor! I sound like a little 6 y/o after getting light up shoes 💀 then you grabbed a sharpie marker (we all see where this is going) and drew on his goatee.
You stepped out of your room and walked to the kitchen, knowing your dad would be there. Expecting him to be, oh so proud 👏🥲
Your jaw dropped to the floor upon seeing him, he was wearing a skin tight, SPIDERMAN suit! You had dressed up as him and he dressed up as your brother, (lets pretend again!!)
"What the fuck?" You both asked in unison, tony scolding you for 6 minutes after that 💀
When peter heard tony scolding your dead ass, he walked into the kitchen dressed up as your superhero! You and tony had gone completely silent, staring at him blankly, you both turned to each other, and repeated the same three words that got you scolded in the first place, but no trouble this time.
"What the fuck?? So i dressed up as dad, dad dressed up as you, and you dressed up as me?"
"That only leaves mom and morgan, what if they had the same idea" peter said just as Morgan (My little angel) waked into the room dressed as you guessed it, mom.
"So we all dressed up as each other, but not, each other?" She asked after you explained it to her.
"Yeah pretty much, but that means mom is probably dressed up as you" you said booping her nose,
The only thing I wanna do in this world
Not long after you said this, pepper walked in, dressed as you again guessed it, as morga-hold on is that a banana??
For the next 10 minutes you all just stared at each other, in denial.

"We're sorry Mr. Stark."
"Where?"
...
Down by the bay
He could still hear her singing. Voice of an Angel. Which no longer sang.
It was no-one's fault, really. She was just in the wrong place in wrong time.
Or was she?
Or was it his fault for not going there to collect her? Leaving her in the hands of the devil. Leaving her in misery.
The room, man was in was all messy. In a way nobody ever saw. It must be a miracle for the man to not black-out from exhaustion too.
Down by the bay
He couldn't unsee the truth. Dirt, blood, scratches, wounds. Anything but them. His mind was screaming that it was his fault. And he started to really think it indeed was.
The cries of help was unheard. He should be there but he was up to no good. They should've saved her. He should have saved her. How was he going to save the world if he can't even keep his little girl safe.
Where the watermelon rot
Nobody should have seen it. Find her. She ought to rot. It was an accident. It was planed. They have to pay. She didn't deserve it. Still got it.
Lights.
Camera.
Action.
Where the watermelon rot
That boy has to pay. Revenge was always an option, which shouldn’t be. It never helps with the wound. And he knew it. It only tears your slowly closing up scar wide open.
If you go home
They didn't let her.
If you go home
They had gone.
Just don't get caught
With her help. Her screams.
Just don't get caught - caught -
They got caught. But it doesn't change anything and fix the damege.
But if you do
They will kill you. You won't be able to hurt anyone else.
You will be dead.
My mother will say
Stop crying.
What are you gonna do?
You don't wanna know
How much it hurt her. He wanted to punch the boy in the video.
What's outside the windows
The man looked at the lake outside his house. To met with his youngest and now only daughter playing with a camera. He went outside. Needing a distraction. But it made everything worse as he heard her voice. His breathing got fast and harsh.
The little girl turned around as in her cue. "Look daddy, what I found!" she said with exitement and curiosity leaking from every word. Maybe even from every breath.
He had to be calm and collected. For the little girl. For her. He started with taking slow and rythemic breaths. In and out. 'Yeah, great start Tony! Great start.'
"What did you get there Morgan?" he asked, feeling very unconfortable as he did so.
With that she looked up to her father and showed a video of a young girl singing. He knew this was coming but still, he wasn't ready. He just looked at the girl in the video. Too focused to even see his daughter, move back and fort, 'dance'.
"What's wrong daddy?" this brought him back to reality.
"Where did you find this, Morgan?" he asked a few drops of tear escaping from the corner of his eyes.
"In the attic." a little pause, "Isn't she pretty, daddy? And her voice is so goood." she, Morgan, said prolonging the -o'es- in good.
Nodding Tony said "You're right Morgan, she's lovely." he took a deep breath "You wanna know something 'bout her?"
Morgan, nodded so fast that her father thought she would break her neck, for a second. "Her name is–was (Y/N). (Y/N) Morgan Stark." he said fast at fixing his mistake.
"Ohh, we have the same name." little Morgan said, looking directly into her father's eyes for him to continue.
"She is your... She is your sister, Morgan." he finished with his eyes closed as if he was Afraid of her reaction.
Morgan's eyes widened to that "I have a sister? I have a sister! I have a sister!" she was jumping around with eximent. "When can I meet her? When can I meet her??"
"Not anytime soon, Morgan."
"Why?" now confused and calm girl asked, stopping with her jumps, with lack of eximent in her voice.
"Because..." he sighned and continued "Because, she's no longer with us."
"Can't you bring her back daddy? Like you always do."
"I can't Morgan. She is in a different place."
"So? Don't be silly pa'. Uncle Thor is also You can do this, in another place but you always manage to bring him back." 'In the end you always get your way, am I wrong?'  he could hear her voice. That sassy tone of hers, which he dearly missed and would die to hear one more time, for real. Holding a conversation with her rather than watching old videos and her last one to only hear her unheard screams. All over again and again and again.
"This is different Morgan. This time no one can bring her back. Not even me."
"But why? What happened to her? Where is she?" she asked with full of curiosity and the singing stopped.
Down by the bay
...
"Please! Stop it please! Aaah!" the teen girl begged for her torturer to stop.
"You had this coming up on yourself, girly."
...
"We're sorry Mr. Stark, but we can't let you join the search."
...
"JARVIS search the whole city!"
...
"This is Tao speaking, we found something."
"It's obvious that she was tortured. Unsub must had tied her up and beat her down. Then stabbed her multiple times. Leaving her vitals unharmed. She must have been in a lot of pain till she died."
...
"We're sorry Mr. Stark."
"Where?"
...
Where the watermelon rot...

grief// peter parker
pairing: mcu!peter parker x reader (platonic), morgan stark x reader (platonic)
warnings: sad morgan stark, tony starks death
summary: you and peter try to help morgan understand death and grief
Tumblr media
 Losing her dad was the hardest thing Y/N has been through. He was her best friend and was there beside her through everything. Sure Y/N lost her mum but she was 4 at the time she can't really remember her or what it felt like, only what Tony had told her.
When she found out her step-mum was pregnant she was originally scared she would no longer have her dad by her side, but she couldn't have been more wrong. Tony was still there for Y/N, obviously he had to split his time now between his two daughters but he loved them both equally. Tony explained to Y/N she will always be his first girl, no one could take that title away from her, not Pepper, not Morgan. No one.
The bond she shared with her step-sister Morgan was extremely special. The age-gap between them was 16 years so everyone assumed they wouldn't spend anytime with each other, that Y/N would just ignore her little sister but they couldn't have been anymore wrong. Y/N and Morgan were attached at the hip and as Morgan grew up Tony immediately noticed traits of Y/N at the age in her. They would spend time out on the docks playing or sneaking into the garage even though Tony had told them both multiple times they weren't allowed in there. It was clear that as Morgan grew up she would not only have one protector in her dad she would also have one in her big sister.
Another person that meant the world to Y/N was Peter Parker. He became very important to her after her dad asked him to help with going against Steve and after that they became very close friends as he was only one year older than Y/N. Unfortunately, he was one of the millions that disappeared during the snap, losing him was hard for Y/N she didn't really know what to do with herself.
-
It had been 2 months since they said goodbye to Tony and it hadn't been easy for the three children. It was hardest for Morgan, she was only 4 so didn't really understand where her daddy had gone and why he wasn't coming back, all she did know is that she missed him.
Peter felt guilty, he was with him when he did pass and he also knew Tony felt guilty because he got blipped so he fought to get Peter back. Meeting Morgan was hard for Peter, it was a week after Tony had passed and he was meeting his youngest daughter for the first time. Peter knew that wasn't how he wanted him to meet her but it was just how it was. Peter was Y/N's rock, she felt like she had to put a brave face on for Pepper and Morgan so when she wasn't around them she would break but luckily Peter was always there to pick up the pieces.
"Y/N can you go find your sister please and tell her lunch is ready?" Pepper said as she finished preparing lunch.
"Yeah of course Mum" Y/N replied "Pete you coming?"
Morgan was a creature of habit and would only ever really be in a few places. Either Tony’s garage, the docks or the back garden although she wasn’t allowed on the docks alone so Y/N and Peter checked the garage first although she wasn’t there.
Y/N and Peter headed into the back garden and heard some quiet sniffles coming from the tent Tony had put up for Morgan so she could play in there. They both walked over and Y/N pulled back the opening to the tent to see Morgan clutching a photo of her and Tony from the day she was born.
“Oh morg, what’s with the tears?” Y/N said as she sat just outside the tent.
“Miss daddy” Morgan said as she wiped her tears.
“Oh princess I know you do but I can bet you now he wouldn’t want you to cry so why don’t we wipe those tears and then we can go eat some lunch how does that sound?” Peter said.
“Y/N why don’t you miss daddy?” Morgan said as she sat in Y/N’s lap.
“I do baby but that’s the thing when someone leaves us some days I won’t really think about it and some days he is all I can think about and that’s okay, you know why?” Y/N said as she held Morgan close.
“Why?” Morgan sniffed
“Because when we lose someone it’s like a huge rollercoaster you can go from being really happy to really sad and you can feel all those but you need to promise me that you won’t go through all that alone okay? If you feel sad I want you to come and find me, Peter or mum and we will help you through it okay ”
“We love you Morgan, don’t ever forget that okay” Peter said
“Love you both too” Morgan said.
-
It was the next night and Y/N was putting Morgan to bed whilst Pepper finished up some work. Morgan jumped into her bed and snuggled into her pillow and Y/n tucked her into her duvet.
“Goodnight Morgan, love you” Y/N said as she went to turn the light off that was on Morgan’s bedside table.
“Y/N can I ask you a question?”
“Of course” Y/N said as she sat back down
“Do you think daddy is watching us right now?”
“Of course he is and he will always be looking over you forever” Y/N said as she pressed a kiss to Morgan’s forehead. Navigating grief is hard enough for anyone especially a child but Morgan was luckily. She had the best big sister ever who would do anything for her.

Previous on It’s Always Been You…
“There you have it, folks!” The man exclaimed. “Conclusive proof that Spider-Man was responsible for the brutal murder of Mysterious, an inter-dimensional warrior who gave his life to protect our planet, and who will, no doubt, go down in history as the greatest superhero of all time.” Both Tony and Steve scoffed. “But that’s not all, folks. Here’s the real blockbuster. Brace yourselves, you might wanna sit down.”
The screen changed back to Quentin Beck holding the camera on the Tower Bridge.
“Spider-Man’s real—Spider-Man’s real name is— Spider-Man’s name is Peter Parker!” Peter’s school picture appeared on the tv.
“Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!” Tony exclaimed. “I’m getting the lawyers on the phone!”
“I’m going to get Aunt May and Peter!” Y/N said. “Steve, grab Morgan and get the defenses online. The press will be here before we know it.” Y/N portaled into the Parker’s apartment. “May! May! We need to go! Ma— Happy?” Y/N froze at the sight of Happy crying on May’s couch. “What is happening here?”
“May just broke up with me,” Happy said, trying to appear more put together.
“Oh, uh, I’m sorry but we don’t have time for this. Where’s May?”
“Y/N?” May called, coming into the room. “What’s going on?”
“Peter’s identity’s been revealed. We need to go.”
“What? How?”
“I’ll explain later. Do you know where Peter is?”
“He was going to get MJ and swing her around the city.”
“Great. I’ll get you to the house and then I’ll go after him.”
Clamoring was heard coming from Peter’s bedroom. Y/N rushed over and threw the door open. May, Y/N, and Happy suddenly saw Peter standing in his boxers with MJ right in front of him.
“Now is really not the time to be having sex, Pete!” Y/N reprimanded.
“Mom! I wasn’t—we weren’t— I know!” Peter stumbled over his words. “It isn’t what is looks like!”
“We’ll be talking about this later.” Y/N opened a portal to her and Tony’s house. “Happy, make sure all the windows and doors are locked and that the curtains are drawn. Everyone else, through the portal!”
“But—“
“This is not up for discussion, Peter!”
“Did he just call you mom?” May asked.
“Really not the time for this, May. Now everyone through the portal!”
Happy left to do as he was told as Peter helped MJ and May through the portal. Y/N’s head snapped towards the bedroom window, seeing a helicopter trying to get a look inside the apartment. She flicked her wrist and closed the curtains with her powers.
“I went through the apartment and did what you asked, Y/N,” Happy said, coming back into the room.
“Great,” she responded. “Now let’s get out of here before they break down the door.”
Y/N followed Happy through the portal before closing it behind her.
“Is everyone alright?” Steve asked.
“Yeah, I think so,” Y/N responded. “Where’s Tony?”
“Still working in his office, trying to clean up this mess.”
“I’m sorry,” Peter sighed, looking guilty and weighed down.
“It’s not your fault, Peter,” Steve tried to reassure. “Y/N and Tony will get this all cleaned up.”
“Right,” Y/N agreed with a nod. “I’m going to go check on Tony.”
Y/N left to find her husband in his office, just getting off the phone.
“What’s the plan?” She asked.
“Murdock says that we need to find proof that he didn’t do what it says in the video,” Tony explained. “FRIDAY has already proved that the video was edited and sent it over to Murdock. We just need to find what actually happened. I have FRIDAY now looking over EDITH footage and pulling up any other available footage.”
“Great. How long do you think we need to be on lockdown for?”
Tony sighed. “I don’t know... Maybe a week.” He walked over and began running his hands up and down Y/N’s arms. “You okay?”
“Honestly, I’m scared Tony. What is this going to do to our family? The Avengers? Peter? He will never know a normal day again.”
“Our identities have been known to the public for years and we’ve handled it. We’ll help Peter get through this… We’ll all get through this together.” Tony kissed her forehead. “It’s going to be okay.” He brought her into his chest.
“I hope so.”
~~~
“They’re going after Stark Industries as much as they’re going after Peter,” Matt Murdock stated, sitting at the Stark’s dining room table. Happy, Aunt May, Pepper, Steve, Peter, Y/N, and Tony were all around the table too. “Good thing you have me as head of your legal team.”
“What exactly are you doing to help?” Steve questioned, his authoritative tone on in full force.
“First, I don’t believe any of the charges against Peter are gonna stick.”
“Wait, seriously?” Peter questioned.
“Oh, I knew it,” Aunt May said with relief.
“They are heavily investigating the technology and how it was allowed to be in the hands of a teenager and then given to Mr. Beck,” Murdock explained. “I have received the video footage Stark has found and I think that could be our best evidence to help Peter and Stark Industries.”
“Wait, I thought you said that Peter was cleared?” Y/N questioned.
“He will be. But there’s still the court of public opinion.”
“Which are split pretty evenly between Mysterio’s side and Peter’s,” Pepper added.
“Yes. I believe that the footage will help get more of the public on Peter’s side. But with Stark’s technological advantage, some might be harder to convince.”
“We’ll take what we can get,” Tony said. “Many people won’t believe no matter what we do to prove his innocence.”
“Thank you so much for coming, Matt,” Aunt May said.
Matt stood up as he responded, “of course. I’ll keep in touch.”
“Happy will take you home,” Pepper said. “Thanks again for coming.”
Happy walked Matt Murdock out to drive him back to the city. Y/N chewed nervously on her lip as she thought about options.
“What are you thinking about, Y/N/N?” Steve asked, noticing his sister’s worried expression.
“I… I did this thing, back in London,” she began. “I opened a portal in front of Peter’s friends and I erased and replaced their memories of the event.”
“No,” Tony immediately stated. “You’re not doing that.” He shook his head as he stepped closer to his wife. “Just doing that to four teenagers wore you out. Doing that to the whole world?” Tony clenched his jaw, unable to voice the next words just yet. “That could kill you.”
“Do we have any other option? You can easily erase all technological traces of Peter’s identity being outed and I can erase it from the minds who know. All the minds who don’t need to know.”
“I can’t let you do that, Mom,” Peter spoke up. “It’s too dangerous.”
“Honey,” Y/N turned to Peter, “I would do anything to protect you.”
“You don’t have to.”
“She’s not going to,” Tony interjected. Y/N turned to face him. “I’m not losing you.”
“You don’t know that you will,” Y/N said. “If I channel all my powers—all the powers of the Stones— I think I can do it.”
“What if we use your powers, Y/N, but instead of erasing everyone’s memories, we somehow show everyone what actually happened?” Steve carefully brought up. “Like, Y/N could broadcast Peter’s memories to the world.”
“That could work,” Y/N agreed.
“I don’t know,” Tony shook his head. “It’s still too risky.”
“My powers are limitless, Tony. The same powers I have are the same ones that wiped away half of the universe. The same powers that brought back half of the universe.”
“Yes, but that was different. The Stones were able to be channeled through, not just the powers channeling through you.”
“Then let me do it and hook me up to machines. Track my blood pressure and heart rate and crap. Track it all, I don’t care! We are not letting this ruin his life! Peter deserves a chance at a normal life!” Tears pricked Y/N’s eyes.
“Mom,” Peter said softly, coming up to the woman. “It’s going to be okay. You don’t have to do that for me. I can handle it.”
“Yes, but you shouldn’t have to.”
“You shouldn’t have to go through what any of us have had to because our identities are known. You deserve to finish high school and go to college, like a normal kid.”
“No one’s normal, Mom.” Y/N sighed, closing her eyes and looking away. “And that’s okay. I... I can handle this. I really can.” Peter stepped closer and took one of Y/N’s hands. “Just let me give this a try, okay? If it gets too much for me to handle, then we’ll find another way.”
Y/N nodded, still not opening her eyes or looking at Peter. Everyone watched her, waiting to see what she would do. Suddenly, Y/N ripped her hand from Peter’s grip and placed it on his forehead.
“I’m sorry,” she muttered, tears slipping down her cheeks. “I have to protect this family.”
The others shouted Y/N’s name as she and Peter disappeared through a portal. They landed on a cold, windy mountain top.
“I’m not going to hurt you, Peter, okay?” Y/N said shakily as she cried. “I just want to keep you save.”
“Don’t risk this, Mom,” Peter begged, tears in his eyes. “Please, don’t risk this.”
“I’m just going to erase what happened… those who already knew your identity before, will continue to know and know the truth about what happened. All the others will forget.”
“Doing all that is going to kill you.”
Y/N pressed out a forced smile. “Tell Tony I’m sorry. And Morgan and Steve and Bucky… Just… know that I’m doing this out of love.”
The colors of the Infinity Stones spun around Y/N in wisps. She closed her eyes and focused on Peter’s memories of when his identity was revealed.
“Got them,” she whispered.
“Don’t do this, Mom,” Peter begged. “You can turn back.”
Y/N ignored Peter’s pleas, her heartbreaking as she did. She took a few deep, shaky breaths as she channeled her powers and her own memories of the breaking news, keeping her eyes closed. She focused on the memories as she took a step away from the teenager. Her hands came up to face one another near her chest, power surging between them.
“Mom, please!” Peter shouted. He was growing more and more worried as blood began to trickle out of Y/N’s nose and ears. “Stop! It’s too much!”
Y/N could feel her power building, weakening her body. She knew that she would need to release it soon before something could accidentally happen to Peter. She opened her eyes quickly and met Peter’s teary gaze.
“Remember what I told you to tell them,” Y/N rasped. “And remember that I love you too.”
“Mom, no!” Peter yelled as Y/N blasted him through a portal home.
Once Peter was gone and the portal was closed, Y/N threw her arms out and screamed. Power blasted out of her and soared around the rest of the world. She breathed heavily, blood still running down her face. Quickly, her eyes rolled back and she collapsed on the mountain top.
~~~
“Y/N!” The others shouted as she and Peter disappeared through a portal.
“Damn it!” Tony exclaimed. “FRIDAY, I need Y/N’s location. NOW!”
“She wouldn’t… she wouldn’t hurt Peter, would she?” Aunt May asked.
“Are you crazy?! She would never hurt Peter! What she would do is hurt herself!” Tony ran his fingers through his hair. “I can’t—“ His chest clenched as he suddenly struggled for breath. “She can’t— we have to—“
“I need you to sit down, Tony,” Steve ordered kindly, going over to help his brother-in-law into a chair. “You’re panicking.”
“I can’t—“
Suddenly, a portal opened and Peter was blasted through, hitting the wall with a thud.
“Peter!” Aunt May exclaimed, she and Pepper rushing to his aide.
“Peter, where’s Y/N?” Steve asked.
“She… I tried… but she…” Peter stammered. “She’s trying to fix it. I tried to stop her… we were on this mountain and she— she said she was going to erase the memories. Everyone was going to forget besides those who knew before. She was channeling so much power, blood was running out of her nose and ears.”
“What?” Tony breathed out, heart cracking.
“She told me to tell you all that she’s sorry. That—“
Peter’s retelling of what happened was paused as everyone was hit with a blast of energy, causing them all to stumble.
“She did it,” Peter whispered. “She erased the memories.”
“Excuse me, Boss,” FRIDAY interrupted. “I have found Mrs. Stark’s location and summoned a jet.”
Tony rushed to his workshop. “Send it her way,” he ordered. “I’ll take my suit.”
Tony slammed the arc reactor onto his chest and the nanoparticles formed his suit around him. He hurried outside where no one knew that Morgan was waiting on the porch.
“Dad?” Morgan questioned. “Dad? Where are you going?” Tony ignored her, too worried about what he may find when he reached Y/N. He blasted off. “Dad!” Morgan ran in the direction of his flight path. “Daddy!”
“Morgan!” Steve shouted, running towards the little girl.
“Daddy!” Tears streamed down Morgan’s face. She was so confused and worried. She had never actually seen Tony in his Iron Man suit.
“Morgan!” Steve met up with her and picked up her thrashing body. “Morgan calm down!”
“What’s going on? Where’s Daddy going?”
“Morgan—“
“Don’t lie to me! Where are my parents?”
Steve looked back at the porch to see Pepper, Peter, and Aunt May watching on with sad eyes. Steve cradled Morgan’s head as he held her close, unable to tell her what was going on.
~~~
Tony had to focus on just flying the suit. Thinking of anything else, even Y/N was throwing him into a panic. So he focused on the directions FRIDAY was displaying on the screen in his mask. Tony stumbled as he landed on the mountain top.
“Y/N! Y/N!” He shouted, frantically looking around. “Y/N!”
Catching a glimpse of something a little ways away, Tony flew over to it. He gasped as he noticed it was his wife. She was laying down, blood dripping from her ears and nose, pooling around her. Tony’s helmet disappeared as he fell to his knees beside her.
“Honey, honey, honey,” he said as he pulled her into his arms. “Come on, you have to be alive. FRIDAY?”
FRIDAY took a few seconds to answer. “Life signs detected.”
“Thank God.” He kissed her forced head.
“I recommend getting her to a medical center as soon as possible.”
“ETA on the jet?”
“Inbound, 5 minutes.”
Tony nodded, focusing his attention on his unconscious wife. “You stubborn, stubborn woman… what am I going to do with you?” As he held her close with one arm, his free hand began to wipe the blood from her face. “When will you let me save the day for once?”
“When you… have powers… that… will keep… you… alive,” Y/N rasped, gasping for breath. Slowly, her eyes opened in time to see tears spill from Tony’s eyes. “I… s-sorry…”
“I know, I know… and one day I’ll forgive you,” he chuckled.
“The jet has arrived,” FRIDAY announced, the jet slowly coming down to hover near them.
Tony picked Y/N up easily and carried her into the jet. He carefully laid her down on the cot as FRIDAY began to pilot the jet home.
“I hate you so much,” Tony muttered, still trying to clean the blood from Y/N’s face.
“I know…” she mumbled.
“You shouldn’t have done that.”
“Nothing else… would have… wo—worked.”
“You don’t know that.”
“I know better… than you…”
Tony shook his head. “You can’t…. You can’t use your powers like this. Not anymore, even for our kids.”
“They were giving to me for a reason, Tony.”
“And that reason is done and over with… no more, okay? I can’t—“ Tony stopped, throat tightening with emotion. “I can’t lose you.”
“I know, I’m sorry. I just… I couldn’t let Peter’s life be ruined… I had to do something.”
“What you did was unnecessary and reckless. And don’t think that I”m going to forgive you easily for doing it.”
“I don’t expect you to.”
“Tony!” Steve’s voice suddenly echoed through the jet. “Do you have her? Do you have Y/N?”
“Sorry, yes, I have her,” Tony responded. “She’s with me.”
Steve sighed. “Is she okay?”
“I’m fine,” Y/N answered weakly.
“I’m taking her to the hospital,” Tony stated.
“Do you want me to meet you there?”
“No. We need you to stay with Morgan.” Steve didn’t respond.
“Steve? What’s wrong?” Y/N questioned.
“Morgan didn’t take Tony’s flying off in his suit too well,” Steve admitted. “She freaked out. I did get her to calm down and she’s with Pepper eating ice cream now.”
Y/N took a long, shaky inhale. Tears pooled in her eyes.
“Thank you, Rogers,” Tony responded. “We’ll let you know when we’ve reached the hospital.” The call ended and Tony focused on his wife. “Honey—“
“We are awful, horrible parents,” Y/N whispered, crying.
“Says the person who almost sacrificed their life to protect our son. I’m sure that Morgan is just upset because she’s never seen me in the suit before and everything was happening so fast.”
“We need to do better… I need to do better.”
“If only our stupid friends and family would stop getting themselves in trouble.” Y/N huffed out a laugh. “We’ll do better, honey.” He leaned down and kissed her forehead. “First we’ve got to get you better.”
~~~
Y/N was back unconscious before the jet arrived at the hospital closest to their home. The doctors took Y/N away from Tony for a bit to run tests, only to conclude that her body was just exhausted and needed rest. Once he was allowed back at Y/N’s side, Tony called Steve and told him to bring Morgan and anyone else who wanted to, over to the hospital. Tony waited outside the room for the family to arrive.
“Daddy!” Morgan exclaimed, running down the hall to Tony. Steve, Peter, and Aunt May were trailing behind the little girl.
“Morgan,” he breathed out, crouching down to allow her to run into his arms. She ran and threw her arms around his neck. Tony held her tightly. “I’m so sorry, Mo… I heard I scared you… I’m so sorry…”
“It’s okay, Daddy,” Morgan responded. “You didn’t scare me. I was just worried.”
“Still, I’m so sorry.”
Morgan pulled back to look at her father. She noticed a few tears trickling down his stumbled cheeks. Gently, she held his face in her hands.
“Don’t cry,” Morgan comforted. “I’m okay.”
A watery smile grew on Tony’s face. “This world doesn’t deserve you, kid,” he said. “Not one bit of you.”
“Where’s mom?”
“She’s in there.” He motioned to the room behind him with his head. “Do you want to see her?” Morgan nodded. “Go ahead and go in, just be careful. Your mom is tired. I need to talk to the others real quick. I’ll me in there soon.”
Morgan nodded once more before disappearing into the room Y/N was resting in. Tony sighed, hanging his head as he remained crouched down.
“How is she?” Aunt May asked.
“She’s tired,” Tony said, slapping his knees as he stood up straight. “When I got there… she was unconscious and there was blood on her face. I thought—“ Tony closed his eyes. “She pushed herself too far this time.”
“Is mom going to be okay?” Peter nervously asked.
Tony looked at Peter. “She’s going to be okay, kid. Please know that none of this is your fault. Y/N made her choice… whether we agreed with it or not. We can’t change what she did, we just have to live with it.”
“Are you okay, Tony?” Steve wondered, studying his brother-in-law carefully. Steve knew Tony well enough to know that he couldn’t have reacted well to finding Y/N.
“I’m fine.” Tony nodded, lying slightly. “Completely fine.”
~~~
As Y/N slowly came to, she could feel someone laying next to her. Her eyes crept open to see Morgan curled up beside her.
“Mo?” She rasped.
Morgan’s head snapped up. “Mommy!” The girl squealed, hugging her the best she was able to.
“Hello, sweetheart.” Y/N hugged back. “I’m so sorry…”
“Uncle Steve told me that you saved Peter. Is that true?”
“Yes, baby,” Y/N nodded slightly, “it’s true.”
“You are the world's greatest hero.”
Tears filled Y/N’s eyes. “What?”
“You are the world's greatest hero, Mom.”
“I thought… oh, Morgan… my sweet Morgan. Come here.” The duo hugged again. Y/N held a kiss to Morgan’s head. “I love you show much.”
“I love you too, Mommy.”
~~~
“I have to apologize to you, Peter,” Y/N said. “I shouldn’t have done what I did, the way that I did it. It was wrong to take you so abruptly like that.”
“It’s okay, Mom,” Peter said, giving her a small smile. “I forgive you.”
“You don’t have to forgive me, not yet.”
“But I want to. You sacrificed your life to keep my identity a secret. I understand why you did what you did, you did it to protect me.”
“You deserve to finish high school, go to college, have a life, start a family, all without people after you because they know who you are.”
“Thank you, Mom. I’ll do my best to make you proud.”
“Pete, you already make me proud.”
~~~
The summer wrapped up with everyone staying close to home and hanging out with each other. Peter began his senior year and quickly sent in his college applications. Tony offered to put in a good word at MIT but Peter insisted that he try and get into MIT by himself. Which he successfully did and so did MJ and Ned. Tony decided to throw a party at the New York Penthouse for Peter early December when they had received the exciting news. Tony, Y/N, Morgan, Steve, Peter, Aunt May, MJ, Ned, Happy, Pepper, Rhodey, Harley, Sam (and his sister, Sarah, and nephews), and Bucky all showed up to support.
“He looks so happy,” Y/N said softly, watching Bucky wrap his arm around Sarah as he talked to Steve. “He deserves to be happy.”
Tony wrapped his arm around Y/N’s waist. “Hate to admit that it’s a nice look on him,” Tony responded.
“And look at him just letting Morgan hang from his metal arm,” she laughed. “And Sarah’s boys clearly adore him.”
“Our old man is growing up.”
Y/N playfully shoved Tony. “Stop it.”
Tony spun her around to face him. He playfully nipped at her lip. “Make me.”
“Tony, there are kids around.”
“So let’s sneak off. You can portal us home and back. No one will miss us for 20 minutes.”
“I thought we agreed I’d only use my powers for an emergency.”
“This is totally an emergency.”
“Tony, I—“ Y/N was cut off by her phone buzzing. She pulled it out to see that it was Clint.
“What could Legolas possibly want?”
“I don’t know.” Y/N answered the call and answered the phone. “Hello?”
“Y/N,” Clint breathed out in relief. “I need your help.”
~~~
Y/N portaled to the place Clint requested and set the briefcase she was carrying on the worktable in front of her. She looked up at Clint.
“Do I want to know why you’ve requested Stark Tech and Pym Tech Arrowheads?” She said. Clint ignored her. “You know that Tony has plenty of bows, arrows, and a new suit ready and waiting for you to use.”
“I little making the arrows myself,” Clint commented.
“Holy shit!” Y/N spun around to see the female that had exclaimed that. “You—You’re Lady America!”
“Don’t call me that.” / “You don’t want to call her that.”
“How—you—oh my—“
“And who are you?” Y/N questioned. “And why, Clint, are you working with a teenager too?”
“Too?”
Y/N waved her hand in the girl’s direction. “None of your business. What is going on here Barton?”
“She’s not a teenager,” Clint mumbled as he opened the briefcase Y/N had brought. “She’s twenty-two.”
“Not helping.”
“Kate Bishop, this is Y/N Ro— what last name do you use?”
“Either.” Y/N shrugged. “Nice to meet you, Kate.”
“It’s nice to meet you too,” the young adult fan-girled.
“Kate, can you give me and Y/N a few moments?”
“But I—“ Clint shot her a look that quickly shut her up. “I’ll be in the other room.”
Y/N waited until Kate was out of the room to talk again. “What is going on here, Clint?”
“Yelena is after me.”
“What? She is? Why?”
“It’s because of what happened to Nat.”
Y/N sighed. “What happened to Natasha wasn’t your fault, Clint. We both know that there was really no stopping her once she put her mind to something.” Clint looked away from Y/N, trying to contain his emotions. “Have you been to the Smithsonian’s exhibit on us?”
Clint shook his head. “No, but I’ve been meaning to take the kids.”
“Well, there’s a picture that I’ve never seen before in the exhibit. It’s of you, me, Nat, and Coulson… we look so much younger, a whole other lifetime ago… Now two of them are gone and we’re both married with kids. We really shouldn’t be taking risks like we used to, especially with Yelena involved. She’s part of us, Clint, even if we’ve never actually met her. She’s one of us. But she’s good at what she’s been trained to do and I’m worried that you’re in over your head here. You have a family to get home to, Clint.”
“I know that.”
“Please tell me that you have more than that young girl on your side.” Clint stayed silent. “You need to get home for Christmas.”
“This is something I need to do without the whole crew getting involved.”
“Then why did you call me?”
“I needed your access to the tech,” Clint smirked.
“Is that all I am now? Your delivery guy?”
“Kind of.”
“Don’t do anything stupid, Clint.”
“I already have… have you seen that new musical, Rogers, yet?”
“Nope, we got an invite to the opening but we’ve been trying to lay low. They did say they have seats for us saved every night if we wanted them.”
“Go see it. Let me know how you all feel.”
“I’ll be in touch then… please don’t get yourself killed, Barton, and let me know if you need any more help.”
“I’ll see you around.”
Y/N opened a portal, but instead of leaving she appears where Kate was waiting.
“Holy shit!” Kate exclaimed again. “You can portal!”
“Yes, and if you want to keep your memories of this whole event, you’re going to keep that piece of information to yourself. Alright?”
Kate nodded. “Yes—yes, ma’am.”
“Are you sure you want to do this?”
“Uh, do what exactly?”
“Do this life… the hero thing. It’s not what it seems… this… this life has a way of controlling you. Just… be careful, alright?”
“I’ll—I’ll try.”
“Again, it was nice to meet you, Kate.” Y/N opened a portal behind her and turned to face it. “Keep him safe, Kate. He needs to get home for Christmas.”
~~~
“I’m really not sure about seeing this,” Steve grumbled, holding an armful of treats as he lead the way to their seats in the theater. “Why did that have to make a musical about me?”
“Because you’re the Star Spangled Man with a plan, Cap,” Tony responded.
“I’m actually really excited to see it, Steve,” Harley said.
“Me too!” Peter added.
“Me three!” Morgan joined.
Tony sat on the end so that Steve wouldn’t be able to make an easy getaway, with Y/N next to him, then Harley, Peter, Morgan, and Steve. The musical started and the family tried not to cringe the whole time. When they reached the Battle of New York scene, the family couldn’t hold back anymore.
“Why the hell is Scott in this?” Tony asked. “He has more stage time in this battle than you do, honey, and you were actually there!”
“Oh my gosh…” Y/N gasped. “Someone must have seen Scott in the alley when we went back for the Stones.”
“Well, shit.”
~~~
“That was so terrible,” Y/N laughed as Tony drove them home. Harley, Peter, and Morgan were completely asleep in the back while Steve was driving his motorcycle home.
“It really was,” Tony agreed with a laugh. “It did get me thinking though.”
“Yeah? About what?”
“If you would change anything about what happened in your life? If you wish that you would have lived the life you would have if you hadn’t followed Steve into HYDRA that day?”
“Easy, no. My life now, with this family, is better than any other I could have had back then.”
Tony reached over and intertwined his hand with hers. He lifted it up and kissed the back of her hand. “Good… I love you.”
“I love you most.”
~~~
Harley and Peter woke up enough to get themselves to bed when they arrived home. Tony carefully unbuckled Morgan and carried her upstairs to her room.
“I’ll get her changed,” Y/N whispered, already moving to grab her daughter a set of pajamas. “You go get ready for bed.”
“Alright,” Tony responded. He came over and pressed a kiss to her cheek. “Don’t take too long.”
Y/N tried her best not to wake her daughter as she changed her. Once Morgan was changed, Y/N tucked her into bed and kissed her forehead. She looked at Morgan lovely before moving to turn off the lamp.
“Mommy?” Morgan whispered before Y/N could actually turn off the light.
Y/N turned back around. “Yes, dear?”
“Was any of that play true?”
Y/N sucked in her lips as she came back to set on the edge of Morgan’s bed. “Parts of it were, yes.”
“Can you tell me the true story?”
“Maybe another night. It’s late sweetheart and you—“
“Please, mommy, tell me.”
“Yeah, mom,” Peter urged, appearing in the doorway with Harley. “Tell us.”
“Fine,” Y/N sighed. The boys quickly joined Morgan on the bed. “You want to hear my story? It’s a long one.” Tony came to the doorway and leaned against it.
“You only need to start it,” Harley said. “You can finish it another night.”
“Alright, alright… where to start, where to start…”
“How about at the beginning?” Morgan said.
“I guess I’ll start at the beginning then… Once upon a time, a pair of twins were born; the girl was much healthier than the boy. And they grew the little boy longed to be stronger, to protect those who could not protect themselves. One day, when the twins were older, their dear friend, Bucky, got drafted into the army. And that is where their story begins…”
AUTHOR’S NOTE: This is it! The end of Tony’s side of my series, Out Of Time. I’m so sorry for how long it’s taken to get to the end. Thank you so much for the support!! Especially those who have been here for the long haul! Bucky’s story is still continuing for a little bit longer, so feel free to read that. There are also many new one shots and questions to be answered coming so keep an eye out and check out the masterlists linked at the top of the post. Thanks again for everything!
The forgotten child
Tumblr media
Pairing's : fem! reader x peter parker, tony stark daughter! x tony stark, tony stark daughter! x peter parker
Warnings: really sad angst, jealousy, daddy issues, neglect, lmk if i missed anything! :)
Summary: dad of the year award? surely isn't going too him
a/n : I know the gif doesn't really match the theme of this story I just really liked it. I did not reread this so please ignore any grammar mistakes. Also, I'm not sure if i wrote a panic attack correctly but I wrote based on what their like for me. hope you all enjoy!
you really tried not to become the forgotten child, always tried you're very hardest to live up to your father expectations, trying to make him proud in hope's he'd show some form of attention.
always studying to get straight a's even through countless anxiety attacks from fear of failing and disappointing your father.
all you ever wanted was reassurance, and if you ever got lucky enough a "You did a good job" after getting a high score on a test.
but it never came, it would forever be something you longed to hear. he would usually just mumble a small, quiet "congrats" as his mind stayed focused on his work and his eyes stuck to the blueprint laid out on the table Infront of him.
you always tried you're best not to feel jealous whenever your father held morgan, you had no ressentiment towards morgan whatsoever, in fact she was the one that kept you smiling most days. although you couldn't help but feel your heart tighten from jealousy as you watched them have daddy daughter time
you really did try you're best to be happy for your younger sister, but you couldn't ignore that aching feeling. all you wanted was the attention she had that your heart ached so desperately for, but it never came despite your countless attempts.
you we're astound to hear a new avenger had been recruited, you always enjoyed meeting new people. mainly because they gave you attention they didn't even know you craved.
you always seeked to see the best in people, no matter what the circumstances we're. including peter parker, there was nothing wrong with him, he wasn't a bad person in fact quite a good one, and if you weren't so envious of him you possibly could have been friends with the boy. but you watched how peter and your father clicked so easily becoming like father and son.
it made the knots in your stomach tighten as you watched them spend time together, it made you feel as if something was wrong with you, like maybe if you tried harder or changed, he'd give you the attention you deserved.
your mother, pepper always said he loved you just as much as he loved morgan or even peter, but you knew the truth as much as you ignored it you knew. but oh, how you wish he did.
"Mom, I'm home" you called out knowing if father was home, he wouldn't answer you. after not receiving an answer, you decided to look through the house in search of your mother, after a couple of minutes searching you still hadn't found her and decided she probably went out and took morgan with her. you heard talking but it sounded like your father, and peter?? "what's peter doing here?" you wondered. you decided to peak you're head through the door and saw peter and tony standing with their backs faced away from you, working on some upgrades for peter's suit.
"you're a pretty great kid peter" tony told him as he smiled at him patting his shoulder. a wave of jealously hit your chest as you watched them, your throat tightening. "Thank you, Mr. stark," peter smiled cheekily as your fingers clenched into a fist at your side.
"Becoming like my son."
once those words left Tony's lips, your mouth went dry, your head aching as you backed away from the door as quietly as possible, you're breathing picking up rapidly. you quickly made your way to your room, tears forming in your eyes, you walked into your room and shut the door softly as your hands started shaking as you paced around your room quickly, trying to stop the tears from rolling down your cheeks. you never liked crying, it made you feel weak.
you're breathing came out in heavy gasp as you struggled to breathe. you leaned against the wall coughing as you squeezed your eyes shut as you tried to stop the words from replaying in your mind.
"Becoming like my son" continuously echoed through your head as soft sobs left your lips, you didn't want to feel this way, envious of what your father and peter had. it's not peter's fault about what your father feels about you so why hold him accountable. he'll never love you, at least not like he loves peter. you can't figure out why? you always tried you're best to impress him, but nothing seemed to be enough for him, it's like he didn't even care about your existence.
you stumbled over to your bed, taking deep breathes as your body grew exhausted from crying. you plopped down on your bed tiredly as you snuggled up against your blanket that was where your pillows we're supposed to be, you grabbed a pillow and hugged it too sleep.
you didn't want to put the blame on peter because it wasn't his fault, but a little piece of your heart blamed peter parker.
a/n: CLIFFHANGER!?!? I decided to leave it for now because I haven't come up with an ending that I thought fit the way I wanted so if you guys have ideas, please let me know. reblog's are highly appreciated, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed!
A rrequest if that okay. I want Lucifer x Angel daughter figure!Reader. Like before he fell, he had a share close bond with a child angel who look up to him like a father figure (she does look up to the other angels like they're uncles and aunt for her too but Lucifer is closer). Like sharing his ideas with ideas, teaching her to fly when she was a still a newborn, helping her with her powers (I vote for ICE POWERS ❄️), doing hobbies together like art. Kinda like Morgan x Tony Stark or like Scott Lang x Cassie
Her personality : Shy, kind, dreamer too but reserve, well-behaved, sensitive, and never like cussing
And aafter he fell in hell with Lilith, she was alone in heaven, growing up to be a well mature messenger of heaven .
While in hell, Lucifer tell the tale of a small angel who could have been her sister
What do you think, is it a good story
IT'S BEEN SO LONG
—PART ONE
pairing: Lucifer Morningstar x Adopted! Fem angel! Reader [platonic!]
fandom: Hazbin Hotel
genre: fluff and cute
notes: will be making a male version of this. Someone remind me.
PART TWO | NAVIGATION
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Luci, throw me up again please!” a childlike voice giggles and Lucifer smiles, his angel wings fluttering behind his back. In his hand is a small angel, no older than six, a bright smile on her face, a small halo above her head. Chubby baby cheeks he just wants to squish forever.
The older angel chuckles softly, “Alright, alright... 1, 2, 3, and up we go!” he cheers, throwing the small child up in the air making her giggle loudly, her small wings fluttering behind her back in excitement and Lucifer effortlessly catching her. Soft and gentle chuckles escaping his lips as he places a gentle kiss on the child's forehead making the small girl laugh, a childlike giggle escaping her lips.
She was one of the recently created angels and the older angels are tasked with watching over one child. Lucifer, one of the older angels was tasked to watch over a little one and he was paired up with this sweet child. He needs to guide her and make sure she won't have any trouble living in heaven.
“Luci,Luci!” the small girl calls out to him excitedly in his arms, Lucifer raises an eyebrow and looks down at the smaller angel that's on his arms.
“What is it little [y/n]?” he asks softly, booping her nose with his pinky finger. A small giggle leaving the girl's lips.
“Look! Look! I can do this!” [y/n] says with a small giggle, showing her tiny chubby hands to him and slowly it glowed a pale blue and accidentally shot him a blast of snow... To his face.
Laughter was heard coming out of the smaller girl's lips as Lucifer stood there in shock. Still caught off guard by the snow attack on his beautiful face.
Regardless, he wasn't mad. It wasn't strong yet to hurt him but boy, it was so cold. He was amazed that the child's powers have already developed at this age, he can tell she'll be strong in the future.
Using his hands, he wiped off the snow from his face before chuckling as he looked down at the laughing girl that was in his arms.
“Meany little lady, shooting me with snow.” he says with a small pout making the smaller girl giggle, “'m sorry, I was supposed to make a snowflake...” she murmurs softly and apologetically.
Lucifer smiles softly and ruffles her hair, “It's fine little [y/n]. You didn't mean to.” he says with a smile, making the girl's frown disappear as she returns back to smiling brightly at him. Lucifer eventually helped her in slightly controlling her powers and the girl managed to finally create snowflakes.
Lucifer started calling her 'Little snowflake.'
And [y/n] eventually started calling him dad.
Tumblr media
All throughout her life, she spent it underneath her father's wings. She shared the same beliefs as him, as his influence.
She was just 11 years old when her dad fell from grace.
The small child sobbing and cried in Michael's arms, as she watched Lucifer falling down and away from heaven. Lucifer crying silently as he watched his daughter's crying face, her tiny arms reaching out to him but Michael held her back. They don't know when they'll see each other again.
She was later on educated why he was cast out of the heavenly city, she didn't fight or argue with the higher angels, choosing to be obedient while deep down, believing that her father was a good man and still is.
She was taken underneath Gabriel's wing, the older woman guiding her how to use her powers.
But she misses Lucifer, her dad. She misses his warmth and comfort.
She grew up to be one of the most powerful archangels. Both she and Gabriel are God's messengers.
Tumblr media
Timeskip. The reader would be somewhere around 27,000 ish years old but looks like in her early twenties.
[Y/n] chokes on her tea as Gabriel announces the news to her, the tea splashing out of the cup. Thankfully not spilling on the important documents that are on the desk in front of her, they were in the messenger office doing paperwork.
“Excuse me? Adam is dead?” [y/n] asked in disbelief and the older woman nodded, “Apparently.” Gabriel says with a shrug.
It has been millennia since then, where she has last seen her father. She grew up without him but his guidance continues to guide her all throughout her life.
She grew up to be a strong and mature woman, has risen up the ranks, a rank below the Seven Virtues.
[Y/n] places down the cup of tea on the table before looking at her mentor, Gabriel.
“And you're telling me because?” [y/n] asked with a blank expression, already fully prepared for a new job to be placed on her shoulders. Gabriel deadpans at her, “Unfortunately the exorcists failed to bring his body back here and we don't have any detailed report on what happened and I want you to go down there to do those things.” Gabriel explained, a hand on her hip.
[Y/n] deadpans back at her, “Do I look like Hu Tao to you or something?” she asked and Gabriel raised an eyebrow at her, confused who this Hu Tao is.
“Who?” Gabriel asked with a confused tone, “Tao.” [y/n] answers seriously.
(10/10 comedy right there)
Gabriel still couldn't understand her, please someone end her misery.
“Anyways, I want you to go down there okay?” Gabriel says sternly, [y/n] sighs very loudly.
“I am not a funeral director nor a press. I am a messenger of God!” [y/n] says a deadpan, her lips pressed in a thin line. Gabriel sighs. How did Lucifer manage this kid?
“Besides, why do we need to bring his body back here? Can't we just leave it there to rot or something? Dude is finally where he belongs.” [y/n] asked flatly with a raised eyebrow, Gabriel sighs once more. She was not amused.
Eventually, [y/n] didn't get to escape the new responsibility as she was pushed into a portal by none other than Gabriel, a portal to hell.
Tumblr media
In hell, specifically the pride ring. An angelic portal can be seen opening at the red skies of the city. The portal closing briefly after a figure emerged from it. The phenomenon catching and sparking the interest of the hell dwellers.
[Y/n] sighs softly as she falls, falling backwards making the tip of her wings pushed in front by the pressure of the wind. Closing her eyes for a few moments, she could recall the day Lucifer, her dad fell from grace.
Is this what he felt during that day? She asked herself before opening her eyes, turning her body so she could face the approaching fiery red grounds of hell, extending her wings to its full size, fluttering as she finally stabilized herself and kept herself afloat.
Once she was close to the ground, she straightened her wings so she could dive faster.
Landing on the ground roughly but gracefully, a crater formed underneath her shoes where she landed. Extending her arm in front of her, a golden hologram forming above her palm.Time to look for that damn body.
In the distance, up in a small hill was a hotel called Hazbin Hotel.
Protect You - Aaron Hotchner x Female Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You come into work injured and Hotch accidentally outs your relationship
Words: 1.8K
Warnings: None really
Notes: I honestly don't know where this one came from but enjoy hehe
Y/N’s POV
As I step into the familiar confines of the BAU bullpen, a sigh of relief escapes my lips upon noticing it’s only Spencer present as the others always arrive later. Hotch and Rossi must be holed up in their offices, shielding them from witnessing the bruised left side of my face and the split lip that I’m trying to conceal with my hair, keeping my head down. I would try make-up but they’re profilers, we’re profilers, there’s no point hiding any of it as they’ll work it out.
Every moment reminds me of the ache throbbing on my face, a constant reminder of the altercation that occurred early this morning. I try to mask the discomfort with a tight-lipped smile, but I know Spencer sees through it the moment his gaze flickers up from the file he’s absorbed in. His eyes widen in concern, and he’s on his feet so fast his chair clatters to the ground, abandoning his document to rush to my side.
I appreciate his silent understanding, his quick grasp of the situation without needing an explanation. It's moments like these that remind me why the BAU feels like family.
“Hey,” Spencer’s voice is gentle, his concern palpable as he takes in my appearance, eyes flickering over the bruises, assessing whether I need medical or not, “What happened to you?”
I offer a weak shrug, sliding onto my desk so Spencer can slide into my chair like we usually sit, waiting for Emily, JJ and Morgan to arrive, “Oh just a little accident.” I murmur, trying to downplay the severity of it, though the pain pulses with each word. Spencer raises his eyebrows, scoffing lightly, drawing a heavy sigh from me, I relent, knowing I can’t actually keep it from my best friend, “Jessica might have found me in Hotch’s bed this morning after he left to be here early,” I pause, letting that sink in first, the fact I was in our boss’ bed, “She… well, she punched me and I just left her… she’s still grieving and it’s been just over a year now…”
Spencer's hand finds mine, a silent gesture of solidarity amidst the chaos. And in that moment, I'm grateful for his unwavering support, his quiet strength anchoring me to reality when everything feels like it's spiralling out of control, “Are you going to tell Hotch?”
Before I can respond, the authoritative timbre of Hotch’s voice cuts through the air, drawing my gaze towards his office. Instinctively, I turn my head away, a futile attempt to shield him from the truth of what his ex-sister-in-law had down to me. But it’s too late. The damage is already written across my bruised face, a stark reminder of the violence that had erupted in the early hours of the morning.
Hotch strides into the bullpen, his gaze sweeping over the room before settling on me, his expression a mixture of concern and confusion. "Tell me what?" His voice is clipped, demanding answers that I'm not ready to give. Spencer gets up from my chair and moves over to where the coffee station is, staying within hearing distance but giving us enough privacy.
I swallow hard, feeling the weight of Hotch's gaze bearing down on me like a heavy burden. "It's nothing, Hotch," I repeat, my voice barely above a whisper as I keep my head bowed, unwilling to meet his gaze. But I can sense his skepticism, his unwavering determination to uncover the truth lurking beneath my hesitant words.
Before I can protest further, Hotch grips my chin with a gentle finger and thumb, forcing me to raise my face and meet his gaze. The shock that flashes across his features sends a shiver down my spine, his expression morphing from concern to horror, then to simmering anger barely contained beneath the surface.
His voice is low, a dangerous undercurrent lacing his words as he practically growls, “Who did this to you?”
I try to shake my head free from his grip but he won’t let me, cognac eyes full of anger as he searches my face. Every part of my wants to submit to him but I can’t ruin the last bit of Haley he has left by telling him and he finally sighs. He takes a risk and presses his forehead to mine, eyes closing and taking a deep breath before he’s letting me go and taking a step back just as the bullpen doors open. With one final lingering look he turns to the others and tells them to meet him in the meeting room in ten.
As Spencer intercepts Hotch on his way back to his office, a sense of foreboding settles over the bullpen, amplifying the tension already thick in the air. I watch, heart sinking, as Spencer murmurs something to Hotch, the words lost in the charged atmosphere. Hotch's head snaps up, his entire demeanour shifting in an instant. Even from behind, I can sense the fury radiating off him, a palpable force that sends a shiver down my spine. Whatever Spencer said has stirred a tempest within Hotch, one that threatens to consume everything in its path.
Before I can comprehend the gravity of the situation, Derek's voice breaks through the tense silence, his concern evident in the way he addresses me. "Oh shittt, what happened to you, baby girl?" he asks, his usually jovial tone replaced by genuine worry.
Spencer slumps back into my chair, his expression somber as Derek rounds the desk to his, drawing Emily and JJ's attention in the process. In moments like these, the boundaries between colleagues blur, replaced by the unspoken bonds of friendship and camaraderie that define us as a team. They crowd around me, their questions a chorus of concern as they inspect the bruises marring my skin. Despite their genuine care, I can feel the weight of their stares, the unspoken questions lingering in the air like a heavy fog.
Just as I'm about to ask them to drop it, a voice cuts through the chaos, echoing from Hotch's office with a force that silences the entire bullpen. "HOW DARE YOU LAY A HAND ON HER?!" Hotch's voice booms, despite his door and blinds being shut, reverberating off the walls with an intensity that leaves no room for doubt.
A stunned silence settles over the bullpen, the air thick with tension as Hotch's voice echoes through the confines of his office, despite the closed door and drawn blinds. His words hang in the air like a heavy pall, commanding attention and demanding justice. The sudden yelling draws Rossi out of his office, his expression a mix of concern and confusion as he surveys the scene unfolding before him. It's rare to witness Hotch lose his composure, and even rarer to hear him raise his voice with such raw intensity.
But, as the seconds tick by, the tension in the air becomes almost palpable, a tangible force that hangs heavy around us. We exchange uncertain glances, the weight of Hotch's anger casting a shadow over the once tranquil atmosphere of the bullpen. And then, just as quickly as it began, Hotch's voice rises again, the sound muffled by the closed door of his office. Despite the distance, his words carry with them a sense of finality, a declaration of his unwavering resolve, “I CAN DATE WHO I WANT, YOU DON’T GET TO DICTATE IF Y/N IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME.”
As Hotch's voice reverberates through the closed door of his office, his words cut through the heavy silence like a knife. The weight of his declaration hangs heavy in the air, leaving us all stunned into silence.
Derek's eyebrows shoot up in surprise, his mouth slightly agape as he processes the implications of Hotch's words. Emily's eyes widen, a mixture of shock and admiration reflecting in her gaze as she exchanges a quick glance with JJ. Spencer, ever the observer, remains stoic, his expression unreadable as he absorbs the gravity of Hotch's statement.
The realisation settles over us like a heavy blanket, each of us grappling with the implications of Hotch's unwavering resolve. In that moment, it's clear that he's not just defending my honour; he's asserting his autonomy, refusing to be swayed by the opinions or judgments of others. And as the echoes of his words fade into the background, we're left in a stunned silence, the weight of the moment pressing down upon us like a tangible force. For a brief moment, the chaos of the world outside fades away, replaced by the quiet intensity of the bullpen.
But our reverie is short-lived as Hotch reemerges from his office, his face flushed with anger and frustration. His gaze sweeps over us, a silent command to gather ourselves and move forward. Without a word, he gestures towards the conference room, his authoritative presence brooking no argument.
As the rest of the team practically rushes towards the conference room, driven by the urgency of the moment, I find myself lingering behind. The weight of everything that has transpired settles heavily upon my shoulders, anchoring me to the spot as I struggle to process the whirlwind of emotions swirling within me. I remain perched on the edge of my desk, head bowed, my hands suddenly the most fascinating thing in the world. The sound of familiar footsteps draws nearer, the rhythmic cadence echoing through the empty space of the bullpen. And then, like a beacon in the darkness, Hotch's shiny smart shoes appear in my line of sight, his presence casting a warm glow against the backdrop of uncertainty.
He says my name softly, a gentle reminder that I'm not alone in this moment of vulnerability. I lift my gaze to meet his, finding solace in the depths of his unwavering gaze. There's a tenderness in his eyes, a silent acknowledgment of the tumultuous journey we've embarked upon together.
In that moment, he looks at me like I've hung the stars, like I'm a goddess deserving of reverence and adoration. It's a gaze that speaks volumes, a silent confession of the depth of his feelings. And then, with a gentle touch, his hand reaches out to cup my unbruised cheek, his touch a balm against the ache of the morning's events. In the stillness of the bullpen, he draws me into a soft kiss, a silent promise of solidarity and unwavering support. In that fleeting moment, time stands still, the chaos of the world fading away as we find solace in each other's embrace. And as we pull away, the weight of the world feels a little lighter, buoyed by the strength of the bond that binds us together.
With a silent understanding, we rise from the tumult of the morning, ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead. And as we make our way towards the conference room, hand in hand, I know that no matter what the future holds, we'll face it together, united by the unbreakable ties of love and loyalty.
Second Chance - Chapter 5
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Warning: mention of car accident, past surgery, cancer treatment, chemotherapy side effects, survivor guilt, bone marrow procedure, talk about death.
Relationships: Yelena x reader, Morgan x reader (platonic), Tony, Pepper, x reader (platonic), Wanda x reader (platonic)
Note: a lot of this chapter is based on my own personal experience with the disease. As I've learned chemotherapy effects everyone very differently. The type of chemo the reader is on is based on her type of cancer but the treatment plan may not be 100% accurate.
Morgan was pressed into your side as she scrolled through the many streaming services that were offered at the tower to pick a movie. After dinner, Morgan dragged you to her floor and sat you down to watch a movie. She claimed it was unfair that you didn’t play with her so you had to watch a movie together. It was cute and a movie night sounded perfect after the long day you had. There was something about the blonde Black Widow that kept her on your mind. It was a little nerve-racking. Ever since your diagnosis, you’ve sworn off relationships. It leads to more heartbreak in the end. “Wanna watch Moana?”
“We can watch whatever you want, buttercup,” she giggled and pressed play. It was a movie you’ve seen a lot. Hell, your lifelong dream was to live on a sailboat which you did until you got sick.
“Mind if we join?” Pepper asked as the opening song was over. Her daughter hushed her, not taking her eyes off the screen. You smiled, ruffled her head, and nodded at the CEO, who sat next to you on the couch. Tony slid next to Morgan, grabbing her legs and putting them on his lap.
Moaa was probably in your top 5 favorite animated movies but it was getting harder and harder to keep your eyes open to follow the plot. “Hey,” Pepper whispered. “Do you want to go to bed?” You shook your head, not wanting to get up or move Morgan off of you. But your eyelids became heavy and soon your head fell onto Pepper’s shoulder. You were too weak to fight sleep as it called your name.
*
The weight of your head falling onto Pepper’s shoulder startled her and she tried to keep her body from jumping so she wouldn’t wake you. You didn’t. “Do you want me to move her?” Tony asked. Pepper shook her head.
“No, she’s perfectly fine.” She meant it. When was the last time you allowed yourself to lean on the shoulder of another? Jessica Easton died in 2018, a few months before the Blip. That was 6 years ago. The case remained open. It was another layer to have you bare alone. So you could rest your head on her shoulder as long as you wanted, she didn’t mind.
*
“I have a meeting with possible investors,” Pepper said, looking at her tablet.
“I’m waiting for a video call from Bruce,” Tony poured coffee into the mug. You rolled your eyes as you filled up your water bottle from the fridge and poured an electrolyte mix into it. It was important to stay hydrated during your chemo sessions. The couple have been going back and forth for 20 minutes on who would be going with you to your appointment. However, it appeared that being Iron Man and the CEO of one of the biggest companies meant busy schedules.
“You know,” you said slowly and put the water bottle on the side of your backpack. Inside, was everything you needed to survive a long day at the cancer center; art supplies, a book, medication, lotion, and snacks lots and lots of snacks. “I can go by myself. I’ve done it before.”
“No,” they said in unison. You sighed, slumping down in the empty chair. Your appointment was at 0900 so you wanted to leave by 0830 to get there a few minutes early. They add to check your results from the blood you gave yesterday. Before every chemotherapy appointment, they needed to make sure your levels were good. 0830 was in 30 minutes and at this rate, you were going to be late.
“Everything okay?” Wanda asked, leaning onto the counter next to you. You sighed.
“Tony and Pepper don’t want me to go to my appointment alone but they are both too busy,” you explained the short-hand version of what was going on this morning. “So I’m just waiting.” She smiled.
“I can take you,” you looked at her in disbelief. She giggled. “I don’t have anything going on.”
“You're amazing,” you turned your attention back to the couple. “Excuse me?” They looked at you. “Wanda said she’ll take me. She’s a very capable adult and you let her watch Morgan,” you sighed when they remained silent. “Oh for goodness sake, I’m getting a needle stapped into my port,” you flipped open your jacket to reveal your tank top. It was March in New York City, it was a little crazy to be wearing a tank top but it made getting to your port easier. Everything went through your port, chemo and they could draw blood. It was easier than them having to run an IV every time. “It’s not like I’m having brain surgery.” You could see Tony thinking it through.
“Fine but you call me as soon as you're done and if there are any issues.” Amazing. Beautiful. You were half tempted to kiss Wanda for saving you.
“I will,” you grabbed Wanda’s hand and your blanket with the other. “See ya later. Bye!” You dragged the poor witch to the elevator, not daring to wait because they could change their minds. “Sorry,” you said told Wanda when the elevator doors closed safely behind you. “I did not want them to change their mind,” she laughed as the elevator moved to the subfloor of the tower. You adjusted the backpack traps and leaned against the metal walls.
“Are you nervous?” Wanda asked. You sighed, looking up at the ceiling.
“It’s not nerves,” you said. “The anticipation really like I’ve done this before but a knot still forms in my stomach, does that make sense?” You asked, looking at her.
“It does. I get the same feeling when I use my powers,” her fingertips began to glow red. “I know the feeling and what I’m supposed to do but my stomach still twists and turns.” Carefully, you reached out to touch her fingers that glowed. It was like a static shock; one moment you were standing in the elevator with Wanda and the next you felt as if you were in the car accident again. The screeching of tires. The piercing sound of metal against metal. And the screams of you and your mom. “Y/n,” you heard your name. “Hey, can you hear me?” You blinked, shaking your head slightly. You were standing in the corner of the elevator, gripping the handle. The doors were open and Wanda was standing in front of you. “Are you with me?” You nodded, licking your lips.
“Yeah,” you said, releasing the hold you had on the handle. There were indents on your palm from the metal. “I’m okay,” Wanda wasn’t convinced, the color was drained from her face making her green eyes pop. “It wasn’t your fault,” you assured her. “I shouldn’t have touched your magic without asking.” She sighed, running her fingers through her hair.
“Let’s get you in the car,” you nodded, allowing her to wrap her arm around your shoulders and lead you to the car. She opened the passenger door and you sat down.
“I feel like I got run over by an elephant,” you said. Wanda smiled and knelt in front of you. “I don’t remember the car accident,” you told her, playing with the threads on the blanket on your lap. “I just woke up in the hospital and I couldn’t answer any of the questions the police asked me.” You whipped away a tear that fell. “Could you help me remember?” You whispered. Wanda nodded, placing a hand on top of yours.
“I can,” your head snapped up to look at you. “But not when you are fighting this.” This was the cancer that was running rampant through your body. “It will be painful and I don’t think your mind or body is strong enough to handle it.” She was right. On your best days, you were lucky to not get tired before noon. “We should get going. Don’t want to be late.”
“Right,” you whispered, swinging your legs into the car and putting your backpack by your feet. Wanda closed the door and rounded the front to the driver's side. By the time she was in the car, you were buckled in. You were grateful that Tony, Pepper, and Wanda were adamant about going with you to your appointments but there was a nagging voice in the back of your head calling out to your mom. Why was she taken from you? Was it some type of punishment or test? Why was it her and not you?”
“Hey,” Wanda’s voice pulled you out of your spiraling thoughts. “Stay with me, okay?” She offered her free hand over the center console. “Stay right here.”
“I’m here,” you promised, lacing your fingers with hers. She wanted you to stay in the present and not slip into the past. You squeezed her hand and held onto it the entire ride, a little afraid to let go.
*
“Does that hurt?” Wanda asked as the nurse, injected the needle into your port. You were all settled in your little cubicle; a pillow behind your head and a blanket draped over you. Your water bottle, sketchbook, and book were arranged on the small side table how you liked it. Each one had a small TV, and a fridge and there was a kitchen for everyone to use. You never watched TV, content with listening to music and sketching. But now you had someone with you which was weird. You shook your head and thanked the nurse as she left.
“Nope, I put numbing lotion on it before we left,” you answered. “Now I wait.” Wanda looked around.
“And you did this by yourself?” You smiled, nodding at the witch.
“It’s not that bad,” she titled her heat at you, a clear indication she didn’t believe you.”Okay sometimes it gets lonely but the nurses are fun to talk to and I get some drawing done. Besides the double dosage days are the worst since they take forever.” You were given cytarabine and daunorubicin with a flush in between due to the chemotherapy possibility of damaging your kidneys.
“Can I get you anything? Or do anything for you?” You looked at your setup.
“Actually, can you go get me some tea from the common area? We passed the kitchen on our way in.” The witch nodded and journeyed into the kitchen. With a sigh, you picked up your phone and began to scroll through the social media. You liked scrolling through instead of posting yourself. Even though everyone said you needed to make an Instagram, it seemed like a lot of work but you tried to post every once in a while to keep your friends in DC posted. “Shit,” you mumbled when you stopped on a picture that was posted on Captain Mills’ social media page. You forgot your promise to Rebecca. Damn, chemo brain. You pulled up your text message and hit Henry’s contact.
‘Hey Captain, I need a favor. Call me when you free.’
*
“That was a lot of fun,” you said to Wanda as you entered the tower’s lobby. “Thank you for coming with me.” She smile with the blanket you used in her arms. She admitted to helping you carry something. It was nice just talking with Wanda and learning about her through her stories and not the media. The media wasn’t kind to anyone, you’ve seen it grab your mom’s name through the mud. Especially with her case against the Liberation Front, an underground crime syndicate that ran up and down the East Coast. She was able to put one of their leaders Enzo Martinez in prison for life. The local media outlets and officials were not happy with her.
“I’m glad I could go. If you need me to go again let me know.”
“I will,” you hit the button for the elevator, and while you were waiting, you looked towards Rebecca’s desk. She was done helping someone and sat down at her desk. “Hold the elevator for me,” you called over your shoulder and jobbed over to Rebecca. She jumped slightly at your sudden appearance. “Hi.”
“Oh hi. Y/n, right?” You nodded. “I see your talk with Tony went well.”
“It did and all thanks to you,” you fished out a business card from your sweatpants and handed her the card. “A certain captain is expecting a phone call from you,” her hands shook as she took it. Her eyes darted from the piece of paper to you. “And if Tony gives you a hard time about the time off. Let me know, okay? Bye.” You ran back to Wanda.
“Thank you,” she called after you. You waved and stepped into the elevator.
“I’m starving,” you said once the metal doors opened the metal doors to the common floor. Skipping past the couch, you through your backpack on it and made your way to the kitchen. There was stuff in your kitchen but you were too lazy to cook and you were hungry now. You opened the fridge, humming to the song that was playing on the radio.
“Hello, Miss. Easton,” you glanced over your shoulder to see Vision, reading a book on the couch. “How was your chemotherapy appointment?”
“Oh hi Vis, I didn’t see you,” Wanda lay your blanket on the back of the couch. The android took the witch’s hand and kissed the back of her hand. Awe, they were cute. “I had food on the brain,” you turned to look back at the fridge. “But it was good. Wanda made it better.” You pulled out someone’s leftover pizza, you didn’t see a name on it and would deal with the consequences later. You ate the pizza over the sink, not wanting to dirty a plate.
“I thought chemo was supposed to make her lose her appetite,” you nodded.
“It does,” you said, covering your mouth while you chewed on pizza. “But they gave me steroids today to trick my body. I’ll be like this for like 24 hours.”
“What can we do to assist you?” Vision asked. That was such an odd question. What could they do to help you?
“Right now nothing,” you shrugged. “I’ll probably be eating all day.”
“Well I can make chicken paprikash,” Wanda said. “I think we have all the ingredients for it.” Your jaw dropped and a piece of pizza was about to fall out of your mouth.
“You know how to make chicken paprikash,” You said in disbelief.
“I would hope so,” she closed your mouth. “I am Sokovian.” That..made sense. “Sit and I’ll make it.” You did what you were told but not without grabbing a small bag of pretzels.
“There is a restaurant in DC that made chicken paprikash not as good as the one I had in Sokovia,” the witch froze and slowly turned to look at you. She blinked once, twice.
“You’ve been to Sokovia,” you nodded. “Before Ultron happened?” You nodded again.
“In 2014, I was 16 and my mom wanted to help with the war efforts,” you slowly ate the pretzel. “It was a beautiful country.” Your mom was hesitant to bring you with her to a war-torn country due to several attacks orchestrated by the US Air Force to try to stop the country’s political turmoil. This resulted in massive infrastructure and property damage, along with heavy civilian casualties. Besides all that, you found some of the kindest and most beautiful souls in Sokovia. She nodded, her green eyes swelling with tears. You couldn’t imagine losing the place you called home in such a horrific way. Vision joined Wanda’s side, offering a gentle hand on her back.
“Yes,” her accent was much thicker. “Yes, it was. Now,” she smiled. “Let’s get cooking.”
*
“I’m a little impressed,” Natasha mumbled as she stood next to Yelena and Bucky. “Is that her third plate?” The blonde nodded as you finally took a break from inhaling Wanda’s cooking to take a sip of water.
“Stark is going to need to take out a loan if this is how she’s going to be every week,” Yelena rolled her eyes, slapping the soldier on his cheek.
“Please Stark could end world hunger if he wanted to,” the blonde said. The man in question walked over to you. It was a shock that the man was trying to be a father to you. Yelena was curious if he was going to help you or send you away. It was hit or miss with the billionaire. Yelena left her sister and boyfriend and walked over to the empty seat next to you. “Are you saving any for us?” She asked you. You giggled, whipping your mouth with a napkin.
“Yes, Blondie,” you smiled. “Wanda made a double patch.” Yelena chuckled.
“So, you’ll be eating all of our food for the next 24 hours,” Tony teased. You playfully rolled your eyes, the smile on your face growing.
“I think you can afford it.”
“I said the same thing!” Yelena laughed.
“Your old man has more money than everyone in this tower times two,” you spun around in your chair to see Rhodey and Maria. They must have just gotten back from DC.
“I’m surprised Stark doesn’t have more of you surfacing.” Maria joked. Yelena had that very same thought.
“How about we stop talking about me like I’m not here?” Tony asked.
“Eh, where is the fun in that?” You said, glancing over your shoulder. Tony sighed and filled a travel mug with coffee.
“Don’t tell her something you’ll regret,” the billionaire threatened his friend. Rhodey held up his hands in surrender as Tony headed toward the direction of Pepper’s office. Rhodey rolled his eyes.
“James Rhodes,” he introduced himself, extending his hand for you to shake. “Everyone calls me Rhodey.” You smiled and shook his hand.
“Maria Hill,” the brunette said. “Nice to put a face to the name.” You shook her hand as well.
“The old man likes talking about me I see,” you smiled. Yelena thanked her sister with a smile as Natasha handed her a plate. The rest of the team filled in to get their food and sat around the dining room table. You sat next to Yelena, only bringing a glass of water to the table.
“Not every day a stranger pops up and says you're his kid,” Natasha sat down in the empty chair next to Yelena. “Cut him some slack.”
“Hey, no hate,” you smirked, taking a sip of your water. “I am pretty amazing.” Your comment got a few chuckles from around the table. The Black Widow was sure she heard, ‘She really is a Stark.’ But Yelena scuffed and rolled her eyes. “You got something to say, Blondie?”
“Blondie?” Maria questioned. “What the hell kind of nickname is that -” Before the agent could reveal her name, Morgan rounded the corner and excitedly yelled out your name. It was the only warning you got before the 4-year-old jumped on your lap.
“Mommy and Daddy said you had to go to the doctor today,” Wanda appeared with a small plate with chicken nuggets and mac and cheese. Yelena was a little jealous of her mac and cheese but you waved the witch off when she was about to take Morgan to her seat. “Do they give you a lollipop? My doctor always gives me a lollipop.”
“I did and I didn’t get a lollipop,” the young girl gasped at your confession. Yelena began to eat her dinner but she couldn’t help but watch you interact with your half-sister. “The doctors had to make sure I stay nice and healthy so I can keep playing with you.” You tickled her sides which caused her to squeal and giggle. The sound brought a smile to Yelena’s face but it tugged at her heart and made her stomach drop. Of course, you were good with kids, what couldn’t you do?
“Are you healthy? Daddy said you were sick,” her simple question caused the table to get quiet. Yelena saw you cringe at your choice of words that led to this question.
“You know my mom used to say you can get stronger and stronger every day but you have to eat chicken nuggets and mac and cheese,” you snatched some of the food off her plate. “You wouldn’t mind if I..” you trailed off as you slowly brought the food to your mouth. Morgan gasped and took it out of your hand.
“My chicken nugget,” she said.
“Well eat your dinner before I get hungry again,” you smiled.
“I would listen to her,” Yelena teased. “She’s got a big appetite. I’m surprised she hasn’t eaten all of our food.” You stuck your tongue at her. Morgan got comfortable on your lap and began to eat her food, not realizing you failed to answer her question. Your eyes locked on with Yelena’s and the blonde tried to silently ask if you were okay. You offered her a small smile and focused back on the conversation that was taking place at the table. Yelena wondered how much Tony told his youngest. Did she know that her newest friend was a little more than ‘sick’?
*
Was it a mistake to leave one of his best friends with the girl who he just learned was his daughter? Probably but he needed to talk to Pepper before he lost his nerve. Quietly, he opened the door to her office and saw that was wasn’t on the phone. “For you,” he said, handing her the coffee he made; no sugar, a dash of oak milk, and either caramel or French vanilla syrup. She took the coffee and eyes him cautiously.
“What did you do?” Pepper asked. Tony gasped, sitting in the chair in front of her desk.
“Why do you think I did anything wrong?” He asked, crossing his right leg over his left. “Why can’t I, as your husband, bring you, my beautiful hardworking wife, coffee?” The CEO stared at him, slowly taking a stop of coffee.
“Caramel,” she said. “My favorite. So, what’s wrong?” Tony sighed, picking up a spar pencil on Pepper’s desk. He twirled the writing device around his fingers.
“I ran the few tests we have and there is one match.”
“Who is it?” She asked. Oh boy. It was now or never.
“Morgan,” he glanced at his wife. To his surprise, her face remained stoic.
“Have you told Y/n yet?” Tony wasn’t expecting that question or this reaction. He had half the mind to wear his Iron Man suit for protection.
“No, you're the only person I’ve told,” he leaned forward. “How are you not freaking out about this? I’m freaking out.” Pepper sighed, closing her laptop. She rested her elbows on top of her desk and folded her hands.
“I figured it was a possibility, especially with what Vision said.” Right. The android said there was a 1% chance for a parent to be matched and 50% for siblings. Of course, Morgan was more likely to be a match.
“What do we do?” Tony asked and stood up. “If we don’t let Morgan help her-” his voice trailed off.
“Then she’ll die,” she finished his sentence. “But are we going to subject our daughter to an intense procedure? I read about it, it can be incredibly painful.” Tony read about it too. It is why he prayed to whatever deity that would listen that he would be a match. Subjecting his youngest to that wasn’t ideal. But you were fighting cancer. “And you did say her medical team does have a plan B.”
“But it’s not a guarantee it will work,” he said, leaning the palms of his hands against her wooden desk. “So, what do we do?” He asked again.
“We talk with Y/n,” she answered, placing her hands on top of his. “Ultimately it’s her choice.” Your choice. Your choice and your life hung in the balance.
Nightmares morgan stark x stark!reader x Dad!Tony stark
Tumblr media
Summary: morgan has a nightmare and comes to you about it, and you both talk about her troubles
EXTREME WARNING: morgan crying 😢😭😤
+•°+*°•++•°+*°•+
Morgan screamed as she woke up from her nightmare, sitting up. The only light in the room being her small arc reactor nightlight plugged into the wall. She whimpered as she slid down the side of her bed, running down the hallway to your room.
"Y/nNn?" She whimpered, you, being the only light sleeper in the house, was the only one who woke up from her scream, you were standing up walking towards the door. You were about to go see what happened but before you could even reach the doorknob, she was there in front of you. With tear stains on her cheeks.
You kneeled down to touch her face before pulling her close, she sobbed into your chest.
You couldn't help but let a few tears loose yourself as you watched your beloved little sister, be so fragile. Rubbing her back with one hand, playing with the ends of her long hair with the other, you held her close.
She continued sobbing for what felt like hours, but in reality was only ten minutes.
When she eventually calmed down, you asked her what happened. "Mo, baby what happened? What made you so upset?"
"I hAd a NiGhTmArE" she whimpered out. "You wanna talk about it?" You asked her, cupping her cheek.
"They-the bad guys hurt daddy, and you and me, and then they took you and then they took me away too and-" you stopped her ranting by placing the tip of your finger over her mouth as she started crying again.
You helped her calm down, and then you had a plan. "You know, if anyone ever tried to hurt you or to take you away from me. You know what I'd do?" She shook her head sadly at you
"I'd use my superpowers to protect you" you said in a raspy voice "but...you dont have superpowers"
"Yes i certainly do! I have tickle powers and i can tickle anyone to death if i wanted to" she flinched as you pinched her side, creating a small tickle.
"And luckily, you're just as ticklish as me." You said with an evil smirk on your face. You pushed the door closed with your hand, not taking your eyes off of hers (they're probably so beautiful)
She screamed as you began tickling her, your fingers digging into her ribs, moving up >:)
She tried to squirm out of your grip, unsuccessfully given that you, being 18 at the time, and her only being 4.
You moved up to her armpits and she squealed so loud, you dug your knees into the carpet in order to stay still. You put her hands over your shoulders and held her to your chest as you started working on her hips.
She arched her back and screamed as loud as she could.
"AAAAAGHAHAAAHAHAHAAA"
You grabbed her back and picked her up holding her stomach to your mouth, you blew the biggest raspberry you could.
"AAAAHHHAHHAAAHAHAHAH! YY/NNNN! PLEEHEHEHHHHSSES!"
Her laughter turned silent for a moment. Before returning to deep belly laughter. You blew another raspberry in her neck and she screeched in your ear (ow)
"Hey mo, where does it tickle the most? Here" you asked as you blew a quick raspberry in her neck "or here" you said blowing a quick one on her belly.
You gave her a moment to answer "my tummy"
"Okay good now i know where to focus." You barly gave her time to process this before you blew a giant raspberry on her stomach.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHAHHAHAHAHAH"
After a few more minutes of this torture, you let her go. You both snuck through the hall and brought her mattress into your room so she could sleep in there.
Even though you definitely just sat in her bed cuddling with her. "Mo...baby, why didn't you go to mommy or daddy? Their room is right next to yours."
"Because i dont think daddy likes me anymore..." you looked at her, shocked "why would you think that darling"
"Because he hasn't been spending time with me, and he'd rather just hang out with you, and he hasn't been giving me any attention lately" you felt pretty bad for her given that you had been through the same feeling (iron man 2)
"Sweetheart, just because daddy isn't paying attention to you doesn't mean he doesn't care, he loves you more then anything. and plus, he hasn't seen me in five whole years. He hasn't seen me in a long time and he missed me."
"But how do you know that"
"Because i felt that way once too. More then once actually (peter) we'll talk about it tomorrow, but for now...you need to go to sleep" you said turning off your light.
+•°+*°•+
The next morning you confronted tony about morgan. "Hey dad.." you greeted, he was making pancakes but he was still on making the batter.
"Morgan had a nightmare last night and i helped her through it. But then, she said that she thought you didn't care about her."
"What? Why would she think that?" He said as he stopped mixing the batter.
"She thinks you dont care about her because you haven't been spending time with her. I'll go get her." Tony sighed, feeling he had failed. He continued to mix the pancake batter.
You went to your room and gently woke her up. You walked back downstairs with her hand in yours. The second tony saw her he took her in his arms.
"Oh Maguna, i am so sorry baby" you felt proud that he had become a better father, especially with Morgan. When he first had you he was young and stupid, he had no experience, but now he did. And all you wanted was for morgan to know her family loved her.
"I will always love you baby. Sometimes im just buzy, know what. After breakfast why dont we all go catch a movie, or go to the beach. Anything you ask" you loved he was pampering her like he did you.
"Yeah, dad has a hard job, and now, hes old and burned out. Heheh" tony chuckled at this, you both always made jokes about tonys age, you couldn't remember a time when you didn't make fun of him for being "old"
"But dad will always make time for us. But sometimes hes buzy, but you always have me and mamuh." She nodded, and turned to tony.
"Daddy?"
"Yes baby girl"
"Can we go to the park?" You and tony laughed at this, he did say anything she wanted. "Sure sweetheart, now come help daddy make some pancakes" he said picking her up, setting her down on the counter. "Yaay"
Matters of the Heart
Peter Parker x Fem!Stark!Reader x Harley Keener
Warning(s): Death
Notes: This is pretty short and end kind of abruptly, but it’s been in my drafts for so long and I like it too much to delete it. So, enjoy :)
Summary: It had been 5 years for you and 5 seconds for Peter. So to say it’s a bit of a shock for him to find you in the arms of someone else is an understatement.
Tumblr media
When the battle was over and Tony was gone, all Peter could think about was you.
How would you react to finding out your dad was dead? That he’d saved the universe and it cost him his life? It had taken you so long to get reacquainted with him and now he was gone.
And what about seeing him again? According to Doctor Strange, it had been five years. It baffled his mind to think that he’d missed out on five years with his loved ones.
What had changed?
"Where do we go now?” Rhodey asked, standing up and stepping away from where Peter and Pepper were still crouched, trying not to cry.
“Home, I suppose,” Steve replied, fighting his own tears. “I think everyone deserves that.”
So, Doctor Strange conjured up portals like he had before. But instead of leading people into battle, the portals lead home. To Wakanda, to New Asgard, to Clint’s farm, and, for many of the main Avengers, to Tony and Pepper’s home.
When they walked through it, Peter almost couldn’t believe that the rich and fancy Tony Stark had lived in this little house by a lake.
He noticed you sitting on the porch swing. Your hair had changed, along with a few more subtle things that come with time, but he could still tell that it was you.
What he didn’t know was who was sitting next to you, and why you were cuddled into his side.
You lifted your head when you saw them walk through the portal, getting the guy next to you’s attention, immediately knowing something was wrong.
“Mommy!” A little girl came running out of the house, little feet pattering down the wooden steps.
“Morgan, honey, stay up there by your sister.” Pepper shouted in reply, causing the little girl to pause her movements.
Morgan. Peter thought. Tony had another daughter while he was gone?
“Morgan, come here,” You said, reaching your hand out for her.
Peter felt himself tear up a little again, hearing your voice. He started to realize how long it had been since he’d talked to you and how angry you would be that he went and got himself into trouble again.
The thought almost made him laugh.
You lifted Morgan up, setting her on your lap and pulling her to your chest, whispering something to her so she kept her face hidden.
Bruce walked through the portal next, when Rhodey gave him the okay, carrying Tony’s body.
Peter could see the way you gasped, holding a hand to your mouth. The guy next to you wrapped his arm around you and you buried your head into his neck, crying.
The sight made Peter want to start crying again, too.
“Keep your head down, Morgan,” the guy said, running a gentle hand through your hair.
“Take him over to the barn, please,” Pepper said, barely above a whisper as she refrained from breaking. “Don’t let Morgan see.”
Bruce headed that direction, followed by Steve, Thor, Sam, and Bucky.
Pepper spared Peter a look, noticing how he couldn’t take his eyes off you.
“Come on, Peter,” She said, gently, beginning her walk to the deck of her house. Peter followed her.
“Mommy!” Morgan shouted, clumsily climbing off her sister’s lap to run into her mother’s arms. Her face full of happy ignorance.
Peter and you caught eyes and he could see the endless emotions swirling in your eyes when his name rolled off your lips, like you couldn’t believe it was him: “Peter.”
He wasn’t sure what to say, his eyes welling up with tears that threatened to spill over when you got up from the swing and wrapped him in a tight hug.
He hugged you back and for a minute it was like nothing had really changed as you cried into his shoulder.
“I thought I’d never see you again,” you whispered.
“It’s okay,” he replied. “I’m right here.”
Peter opened his eyes to look at the man on the swing. He didn’t recognize him, but he guessed you and he were the same age; five years older than Peter now.
You pulled back from the hug and wiped your eyes. Then you noticed him glancing over your shoulder.
“Oh...” you said.
You walked over the guy and held your hand out. He smiled at you, taking your hand and standing up.
“Peter, this is Harley,” You said, turning to face him. “My fiancé.”
Oh. Oh.
Peter’s eyes shot to your left hand, only now noticing the ring that sparkled there.
Five years.
Peter swallowed hard. “Oh, that’s- that’s great, Y/N. Congratulations.”
The guy (Harley) looked at him sadly, almost with pity. It made Peter’s blood boil for no good reason.
“Hey, I think we need a second,” you told Harley. “Could you go see if mom needs anything?”
Mom. You called Pepper ‘mom’ now. That was also new.
Harley nodded and headed inside, leaving you and Peter alone.
At first, he hadn’t noticed many changes in you. Sure, the hair was different, but you still looked like you.
And now, looking closer, he noticed the five years.
You had more smile lines and small wrinkles around your eyes, and they had a new wise-ness to them they didn’t before. You also carried yourself differently, more relaxed. Like you were no longer afraid to do something that would upset the press because Tony’s your dad.
“I’m sorry, uh,” You rubbed your arm up and down with one hand. A nervous tick that hadn’t changed. “This must all be hard for you.”
“You just lost your dad,” Peter replied. “It’s hard for you, too.”
“We both lost him,” you decided, tears pooling in your eyes. “But I’ve grieved before and I’ll do it again.”
Avoiding the subject of your relationship, Peter asked, “Did Aunt May-”
“Blipped too,” You replied. “Same with Ned and MJ.”
“Oh,” It felt wrong to say ‘good’ but at least he wouldn’t be completely alone like this.
Silence fell between you for a few moments before you found the courage to explain.
“Harley was one of dad’s protege’s, too. Before you.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah...from when he got lost in Tennessee. They bonded and dad kept tabs on him ever since. We met for the first time around then, but we’re both attending MIT and found each other there.” You said. “I didn’t really date anyone after you were gone...dad and I grieved you together. You were the only thing we ever agreed on.”
Peter couldn’t help but laugh.
It made you smile.
“But we had to move on. At the time we didn’t think there was anything we could do. The world was changing and we had to grow with it. I went to MIT and met Harley again and we just...connected. I fell in love with him. We’ve been together three years now. Engaged for hardly a month.”
Peter smiled sadly. “I’m happy for you, Y/N, I really am but, to me, just yesterday we were cuddling and watching movies together...”
“I wish there was something I could do...” you said.
That hadn’t changed either. You were just like Tony, always wanting to save everyone.
“Can you hug me one last time? Then give me a phone to call Aunt May?”
You laughed. “The hugs aren’t going anywhere, Peter. I still love you...just not in the same way.”
The two of you embraced and Peter sighed against you. This wasn’t going to be easy.
“Hey,”
You broke apart to see Harley standing in the doorway. “Sorry to interrupt, but Pepper's trying to cook.”
“Oh my god, stop her!” You said. “She’s not cooking tonight. Do we have any frozen pizza?”
You fell right back into a comfortable state when Harley arrived, ready to rely on him for anything. That wasn’t a way you felt when you were dating Peter. He was glad to see the weight lifted off your shoulders.
You passed Harley at the door and he smiled awkwardly at Peter before following you.
Peter stood there for a moment, silently mourning the love he lost, and headed for the barn with the other avengers.
Type: generally Fluff but a big Angst part
Warning: mention of blood, car accident and mention of death
word count : 4771 (it's long sorry)
-------
 "I'm glad it's finished; I need to take a shower and sleep," Yelena said. She was back from a mission with the Avengers. She joined them four months ago, and to be honest, you were the one who convinced her. You were relieved to know she was not alone, and you were sure your father would protect her even if he didn't know who she was for you.
"Oh, come on, Yelena, it was fun." Natasha said, and her sister glared at her.
"You were not the one who almost got hit by the green giant." She replied, and Bruce looked at the ground.
"Mr. Stark, Y/n just arrived at the compound." Friday said, and everybody looked at Tony.
"Thank you, Friday. Let her know we will lend in 10 minutes." He replied, and when he met the curious faces of the others, he explained, "Guys, be ready to meet someone really important to me."
Now all the Avengers were more curious. Okay, maybe not all, Yelena was not curious; she was happy. It's been two weeks since the last time she saw you. You both have been married for one year and a half now, but nobody knew except three people. Antonia and Selina, two widows who were with you at this moment, and your mom Pepper. You hadn't told your father yet because you hadn't really found the time, and Pepper promised she would let you announce it to him.
Ten minutes later, like promised, they were walking to the living room in the compound. They were greeted by Friday and then by Pepper and Morgan. And when your little sister finally finished hugging everyone, you came back from the kitchen.
"Guys, let me introduce you to one of my favorite people in the world, my older daughter, Y/n Stark." Your father said, and you rolled your eyes at his attitude while everyone was shocked by his revelation.
"Nice to meet you." Steve was the first to come back to his senses. "I'm–"
"Steve Roger, aka Captain America." You cut him off. "To be honest, I know all of you." you said, and you paused your eyes on the two new recruits behind them. "And you two should be the news recruits Kate Bishop and Yelena Belova, right?" You said, and the brunette nodded frantically while the blonde just smiled.
"Why didn't we see you earlier?" Natasha asked, and despite the fact that her sister groaned loudly, you chuckled.
"I was working in San Francisco, with Hope. I think you know her as ‘The Wasp’." you said
"Wait, Scott's girlfriend?" Sam asked, and you nodded.
"And she didn't like to spend her time with her dad anymore." your dad added, and you playfully groaned.
"Oh, come on don't say that, it's just that I don't like the parties, but it's okay now." you said
"You want to come to my new party?" he asked.
"Definitely not. But, I move on in New York." You announced, and he raised his eyebrows, he knew how much you liked to work with the daughter of Hank, she was like your big sister. "I decided to spend more time with my little sister, so I joined Stark Industri." You explained, and he couldn't help but hug you tightly.
"Does that mean I will see you more often?" He asked, and you nodded.
After that, you properly introduced yourself and spent the afternoon with them before you went back to your house. Yelena had to finish her paperwork before she could leave, so when she was working, the rest of the Avengers were in front of the TV, watching a movie, when Kate broke the silence.
"Did you see how Yelena reacted when she saw Y/n?" she asked, and everyone thought for a moment before agreeing. "I think she likes her, but I can be totally wrong." she said.
"Yeah, but Y/n has a ring on her finger." Natasha said.
"Don't worry, it's nothing." Tony said, and everybody looked at him confused. "She just really likes jewels, that's why she always wears rings." he explained.
"Yelena is the same. She always wears rings." Natasha said.
"I think we should let them know each other more." Kate proposed, and everyone nodded.
Two months after you almost spent all your free time in the compound, you were searching for the right moment to talk to your father about you and the Russian, but that was never really the right occasion. If he wasn't too busy with his work, you were working; if you were both free, your wife was busy, and you promised her to wait for her to tell him. But even with that, all the heroes seem to have noticed that you quickly became close to the blonde; they thought it was a good friendship. You both decided to keep your relationship secret until you talked with your father and her sister. Yeah, even the great spy Natasha Romanoff was unaware that her own sister was married.
You were in the kitchen with Natasha and Kate when Yelena came, "Hi Yelena." You greeted her without even looking at her. For everyone, it would be a little weird, but we talk about Yelena Belova, a super train widow, she was very discreet, so it was funny to see the face of the archer when she saw you recognize the footsteps of her friend when she couldn't yet.
"Hi Y/n, were you not supposed to work now?" she asked.
"Yeah, but I had something to finish before." you said, and you finished what you were doing. "Oh, I brought a new toy for Fanny. I left it in my dad's lab." you said before leaving the room.
"See you later!" the blonde shoots at you.
"See you later!" you yelled back.
When you were out of the room, Natasha cleared her throat, and her sister looked at her. "Oh, good morning, Nat, and good morning, Kate. I didn't see you." she said, and now her sister was surprised; it was not the type of Yelena to not greet her first in the morning. Of course she was happy to see her sister was making a new friend, but usually no one came before her. She wanted to say something, but Yelena started to leave the room. "I will train, but before I will pass by the lab." she announced and left.
"Wow, did you see that?" Kate was the first to talk after a moment. "Y/n could tell it was Yelena without even looking; do you think she had a superpower or something like that?" she asked, and the older Russian shook her head.
"No, I don't think so, but it's true; it's weird; even Bucky and Steve can't tell when Yelena walks to them, but the strange thing was that she greeted her, but she totally didn't acknowledge us." she said, and Kate chuckled. "What's so funny?" the older redhead asked.
"You're jealous that your sister didn't say 'hi' to you first." She said and quickly left before Natasha could do anything to her.
In the lab, Tony was working when Yelena came. "Hey little spider, how can I help you?" he asked, and your wife rolled her eyes.
"Y/n, said she brought a new toy for Fanny, and she left it here." She said, and Tony pointed to a bag in a corner of the lab. When Yelena opened it, she found not only the toy but also a new vest you brought her with a card. She smiled at herself and texted you to thank you.
Two days later, she was out on a mission with Tony, Steve, and Natasha, and the redhead noticed the change.
"Oh, it's new," she said, and Yelena followed her gaze and looked at her new vest.
"Oh, yes. Y/n brought it to me when she brought the new toy for Fanny," the blonde explained, and your father frowned his eyebrows.
"I know you are close, but I didn’t think it was her thing to bring a gift for her new friend. I think she really likes you." He said, and Yelena smirked. Of course you like her; more than that, you love her, and you promised to spend the rest of your life with her.
When she returned from her mission, she immediately left the compound and made her way to your shared house. There she found you asleep on the couch with the TV on; she knew you waited for her. She turned off the TV and delicately picked you up to your bedroom; after she placed you under the blanket, she took a shower and slid next to you.
The next month, everyone was almost pissed by the fact that you were both oblivious by the way you looked at each other with heart eyes. But today was the day, Pepper was here with Morgan, your dad should come back from a mission with your wife, and you decided to finally tell him.
On their mission, Tony and Yelena found Antonia and Selina, and the blonde invited them into the compound and afterwards to your house for dinner. During the flyback, they didn't hesitate to tease them about you, and that made Tony laugh even if he didn't know who they were talking about.
"Tony, you should have seen her before," Selina started. "She was a badass widow, and now she's so soft. We call her the ‘soft widow’." she said, and Yelena groaned.
"Oh, why do you have this long face, soft widow? Do you miss your wife?" Antonia asked.
"Wait, wife?" Tony asked, visibly shocked.
"Yeah, the soft widow has had a beautiful wife for nearly two years now." Selina announced, and his jaw dropped. But before he could say anything, the jet lent, and the three women ran out. To be true, Antonia and Selina ran for their lives while Yelena chased them.
You were in the kitchen, and everyone was in the living room, when you heard two familiar voices screaming playfully. When they entered the living room, they quickly hid behind the older widow. "Natasha, help us. Softy Widow wants to kill us." Antonia said, and you sighed.
"Who's Softy Widow?" Natasha was clearly confused, but Yelena quickly appeared in front of her, and the two women screamed like little girls, and that made your little sister laugh. Fortunately for them, you walked from the kitchen at the same moment Tony entered the living room.
"Please Y/n calm your crazy wife." Selina said while she was running to you with Antonia. You let them hide behind you, and everyone vanished when you saw Yelena stop in front of you with her disappointed face.
"детка(babe) I love you, but let me kill them just today." She said, and you chuckled.
"Oh, baby girl, you know you can't kill them," you replied. "And they're our witnesses, you'll not kill our witnesses, right?" You added kissing her nose, and she stopped.
You were in your bubble when Natasha and Tony cleared their throats, but before they could say anything, Kate seemed to want to exteriorize her emotion. "What's the hell?!!" she yelled, and you both looked at her.
You smiled awkwardly and looked at everyone. "Surprise? I think." You said. Natasha was furious, Pepper was scared for you, Morgan was surprisingly happy, and your dad was...not there anymore. Tony left without even getting noticed. When you didn't hear him say anything you knew where he was.
"Yelena, what's the hell?" the redhead asked and her sister was now a little scared too.
The blonde looked at you and squeezed your hand "Go find him I'll handle this," she said and you raised your eyebrows at her "don't worry she'll not kill me, but I'm not sure about you." She added and you kissed her before quickly leaving. Now the young widow was facing the rest of the room.
You were in front of the lab, and the doors were closed, pretty uncommon. "Mr. Stark doesn't want to be disturbed." Friday informed you.
"Oh, come on Friday. I really need to talk to him," you pleaded.
"Sorry, MissStark, but even you can't come." The AI said.
"Friday, we both know I know how to open this door with or without your consent. And we both know I can easily hack you to turn you off. So, please." You said, and the AI didn't say anything for a moment. You were sure if she could, she would sighed, but she finally opened the doors, and you rushed in.
Tony was moving some boxes on the big table, he noticed some footsteps but didn't turn around. "Friday, I thought I was clear when I said I didn't want anyone here." He said.
"Um. I think we need to talk." You said, and he finally turned around to look at you.
"Oh, you want to talk now?" he asked sarcastically.
"Listen, I know we should have told you earlier, but we didn't find the right time."
"Since when?"
"What?"
"Since when you two are-? You know."
"Two years soon."
"TWO YEARS?" He yelled, and you flinched. "You didn't find the right time during those two years?". He asked.
"I know it's long, but we both know we couldn't see each other for the last two years." You said, and you started to walk back and forth in the lab. "I know you are angry, but—."
"No!" He cut you off. "I'm not just angry, Y/n. I'm also sad and shocked. It's been nearly two years since my daughter got married, and I didn't know. And what pisses me off the most is that you were not even the one who told me. Why didn't you tell me?"
"I don't know."
"We were used to telling each other everything. How did something like that happen?"
"I know. I think I was scared."
He sighed, and you stopped to look at him. "Did Natasha know?"
"No, we wanted to talk with the both of you. But Pepper knew."
"Pepper?" He repeated, and he scuffed.
"She's my mom."
"Yes, but I'm your dad too, did you forget that? What happened to the little girl that I raised and always made sure she could tell me everything?" He asked and walked out of the room.
"She just grew up." You replied when he passed beside you, and he left without arguing more. You stayed in the lab for an hour; crying alone, when you heard someone come.
"Hey, Yelena said we could find you here." Antonia said. You wiped away your tears before facing her. The two widows looked at you and your pitiful state. Selina didn't say anything and just hugged you. "We're sorry." Antonia said, and you looked at her.
"Oh, no, it's nothing. I think you helped me in a way." You replied and tried to smile. "You both came tonight?" you asked them, and they nodded.
When you left the lab with your two friends, you saw Natasha. She was on the couch, and when you approached her to say your goodbyes, she didn't even acknowledge you. This night, the girls spent the night trying to cheer you up.
The next day, you went to the tower to pick up some files for work. Kate didn't leave your side; she asked you a lot of questions about you and Yelena. It was cute, and you were happy to finally talk about the woman who owned your heart, but right now you needed to talk to someone. So after the questions about your first meeting, and who asked who, you successfully found a way to escape in your dad's lab.
In there, you were surprised to find Natasha and Pepper talking about something that visibly concerned you because they stopped immediately when they saw you.
"Hey sweetheart. I thought you were already at work." Your mom said.
"Hi mom. Hi Natasha. I will go. I just wanted to talk with dad before." You said.
"He was tired from last night, so he should be sleeping right now." Pepper said, and you nodded.
"Okay, bye. I'll see you next week." You added before leaving.
"She looks desperate," Natasha said when you were out of earshot.
"She always was a daddy girl, she spent all her time with Tony. But he doesn't seem to approve of her relationship with your sister, so I think it's the best condition she could be in, actually." The blonde explained.
"But why didn't she tell him anything?"
"She wanted to, trust me. She just waited for the right time. They had planned to announce to you when they'd find a way to reunite you and Tony with them in privacy. But every time you were the three of you together, it was the time she was in San Francisco, and when she moved here, you were a little hostile towards her because your sister was mesmerized by her wife."
"Do you think I scared her?"
"Oh, don't worry, Natasha; she needs more than a shovel talk from an ex-assassin to be scared. But I think she's worried about not being enough for your sister."
You didn't find your dad, and you needed to leave for San Francisco this afternoon for a week; Yelena was out with Antonia and Selina. When you were ready to leave, you texted your wife and your father, even if you knew he wouldn't reply soon.
Two days later, you were with Hope and Cassie on the couch, talking about all that had happened since you left. "Wait, how did you want him to act when he just learned that her daughter got married to an ex-assassin?" Hope asked, and you rolled your eyes.
"Oh, come on, we all know she's not like that anymore." You said.
"Yeah, Softy Widow is totally different with you." Cassie said, and you looked at her confused.
"How do you know this nickname?" You asked.
"She came for a visit last month with Selina and Antonia, and they didn't stop to call her that." The young girl replied.
"You know she would kill you if you call her that in front of her." You replied playfully.
"Oh, come on, she loves me, I'm her best niece." She said with an amusing tone.
"You're technically her only niece," you said, and she rolled her eyes. "So, let's talk about something else. Like how my little Cassie is becoming a delinquent."
"Oh, come on. It was not bad." The young girl said and you chuckled.
"You miniaturized a police car. It's a little bad, but I'm not Scott, so, I'll let it slide." Hope said.
"You're a pretty bad mom, Hope." You said dramatically, and the girls laughed.
You spent the rest of the day talking and laughing with them, and Scott came a few hours later. You were grateful to see him, even if he was not the smartest of all of you, he was the one who always helped you with your family issues.
"Oh, it's a huge problem." Scott said, and you sighed. "I mean, I don't want to take his side, but honestly, if it were Cassie, I would act the same. Listen, you know how much he likes you, it's just a question of time. Let him process the changes and show him how Yelena could be a Softy Widow." he said, and you laughed.
"You really have a death wish in this family." You replied, and he smiled.
"I'm glad to see you smile. And don't worry, she already almost killed me the last time I called her like that, but she's not here." He said, and you laughed. "I have some ideas if you want me to help you," he added.
You were grateful for the time you spent with them; it was fun to see Scott come up with a few things you could do to make up with Tony. When you left at the end of the week, you were sad, but you promised to come with your wife the next time. When your flight landed in New York, you had already missed your time in San Francisco, but you were glad to see your favorite blonde again.
You texted your dad to let him know you were back, and you weren't surprised when he didn't reply. A little upset, you reached your car and started to drive to your home. The ride was pretty cool, and Friday told you that Yelena was required on an emergency mission. Okay, it was not really how you wanted to be greeted, but you knew how it was to be an avenger.
At a red light, you noticed a car that suspiciously followed you. It was not uncommon for some people to follow you when they knew that you were the daughter of Tony Stark. They usually just wanted a photo or to talk about business. At another red light, you took your phone and texted Pepper to let her know that you should be back a little later than expected. When the light turned green, you drove, but you didn’t see the same car speed up in your direction until it was too late.
On the other side of the state, the Avengers were coming back visibly exhausted by their mission when Friday alerted them:
"Mr. Stark, Mrs. Belova, you have an incoming call from Mrs. Pott."
The Avengers exchanged curious looks.
"Take it." Tony said, and the AI did. "Hey Pepper, how are you?" He asked.
"Good, but I need you and Yelena to come here asap." She replied, and everybody was worried because of the little fear in her tone.
"What's happening?" Your father asked.
"It's Y/n. She got involved in a car crash." She successfully mumbled while she was sobbing.
"Where is she?" Yelena asked, clearly worried.
"In the hospital, I'll send you the address." Your mom said. After she sent them the address, the heroes didn't wait to come.
Pepper was waiting for any information, while everyone burst into the hospital. She fell apart in the arms of your father before she tried to comfort your wife. They didn’t have time to sit until a doctor reached them.
“Mr. Stark, Mrs. Pott, I’m happy to see you. Did any of you know who Mrs. Belova is?” they asked.
“It’s me.” Yelena said, and it brought the attention of everybody.
The doctor nodded and gave her a little comforting smile. They took some steps away from the group before they told them about what happened to you and what they were doing in the operating room. After that, they joined the group, who were as worried as them.
“How is she?” Steve asked first.
“They almost finished the operation, so we need to wait.” Pepper informed them.
“But what happened?” Kate asked this time.
“Someone provoked an intentional accident, and she was obviously the target.” Yelena replied, and the group didn’t ask anything else. “She shouldn’t be here.” the blonde mumbled.
“Hey, it’s okay Yelena nobody couldn’t predict that.” Natasha said.
“No, that’s not what I mean. She shouldn’t have taken this trip to San Francisco if YOU’d decided to act like an adult and talk with her.” she said, pointing to Tony.
“What do you mean?” your father asked, visibly angry at your wife’s accusations.
“You know exactly what I mean. If you had taken the time to talk with her, she wouldn't have booked a flight for Hope’s support. If you’d act like a parent and didn’t use this mission to avoid the conversation, she would never take her car and never get here right now.” She explained. “I joined you because she wanted to make sure I could have somebody if something happened to me, but now, because of that, I couldn’t protect her.” Her tears started to fall on her cheeks.
Kate didn’t wait to lead Yelena to the nearest bathroom, leaving the team totally surprised and speechless. Natasha followed the two girls, but not before sending a terrifying glare at Tony. In the bathroom, Yelena was crying while the archer tried to comfort her, even though she knew it was impossible. A few minutes later, Natasha came with a water bottle.
“Hey, take this.” she said while handing the bottle to her little sister. The blonde took it but didn’t say anything. A few seconds passed before the older sister spoke again, “Don’t worry, I’m sure she’ll be alright.”
“I know.” Yelena replied, “But I should be here; I promise to never let anything happen to her. If I didn’t go on this mission, we would be at home right now.”
“If you weren’t there, I could be the one here.” Kate said, and the blonde chuckled.
“You really need to learn how to fight Kate Bishop,” your wife said. She wanted to say something else when she received a text from Hope asking how you were. "Sorry, I need to call Hope.” she said before excusing herself.
A little over an hour later, the doctor came to tell them that the operation was successful, and they transferred you to a private bedroom. And that was where your father and your wife were—only the two of them because the other had plans for the rest of the day.
There was an awkward silence because of the earlier argument. Tony came back after a little trip to the vending machine, and he sat on the second chair near your bed. He took a deep breath, and the woman looked at him. “I’m sorry,” your father said.
“Excuse me? The Russian asked; she was ready for another argument or sneaky comment, not an apology.
“I’m sorry for how I acted since last week. Hope told me everything you did for her and I thank you for that. I'm truly happy for you, it’s just that we used to tell everything and suddenly I learn that she’s married.” The billionaire said.
“Yeah it’s too much.” The blonde chuckled.
“Yeah that’s it…”
“She wanted to wait for you but somewhere we knew that it may never happen so we did at the moment. But believe me, when I said I never regret this decision. She’s the love of my life, she’s the one who taught me to love properly since the Red Room and just for that I would give her my life even if she’s not ready to do that in return.” Yelena explained.
“We all know that I can give you anything for you, even my life.” You said, and the two of them looked at you. “Hey guys. How are you?” you said with a weak voice.
Tony called a doctor, and only a dew later a nurse and doctor were in your room doing some tests and asked you some questions to be sure everything was alright. They told you what happened and that they will keep you for three more days.  In the evening you were in your bed with Yelena cuddling with you because it’s been a while since you were able to see each other.
“So, with my dad? I hope you didn’t strangle him.” You joked.
“I was about to but I know how much you love him so I had to restrain myself.” she replied and you laughed. “I missed it.” she said softly.
“What?” you asked.
“Your laugh. Your smile. You. I miss you.” she replied, and you grinned.
“It’s only been a week, babe,” you said.
“I know, but it was a really long week. I had to support my sister and all her friends, and the pranks of Selina and Antonia.” she said, and you laughed.
“And what does my little drama queen need me to do to make up for this.” you cooed.
“Don’t do that again.” She replied, and you kissed her forehead.
“Okay, next time, I'll bring you with me." You said but she didn’t seem relieved.
“No, I meant don’t scare me like this, I thought I lost you. We both know I would not be able to live in a world without you.” She said, and with her tone, you were sure she was totally serious.
“Don’t worry, my love, I will always be with you no matter what.” You reassured her. “Now let’s sleep because tomorrow everyone will be here and they’ll not give us enough time to sleep.” you said, and she nodded.
“Good night, moya lyubov' (my love),” she said, and she kissed you.
“Good night, my love.” you replied.
 Two weeks and not a single word from James about what had happened that night at the fundraiser and the suspense is starting to get to her. Did he regret it? Did he not mean the things he had said? Was it all just a show of power?
The anguish of not knowing what it all meant and being too willful to bring it up is giving her a raging headache as she rubs her temples sitting in her office at Stark Tower. The edge of her tapered square nails digs a little too much into her soft skin, leaving red marks and causing her to rub at them even more. She’d gone back to work a week after moving into the Barnes’ house and having to drag around his security detail along with her fathers at work proved to be more work than she wanted.
Her father, ever the gentleman, wouldn’t let her ditch Scott or the new young recruit Peter until she was officially married to James and he wouldn’t let her go anywhere without Natasha or Steve close by. Having armed guards as well as carrying herself didn’t exactly sit well with her clientele but then again they were going to her because of the Stark name and all that it offers.
“Well, I can’t lie to your probation officer if they ask about this. I can claim client provider privilege however until you can get everything sorted out,” she explains to the large man awkwardly sitting on her couch.
“I can’t go back to prison, ma’am. It was a mistake,” he pleads with her.
“A mistake means you didn’t intend to do it. Punching a buddy at the bar after he’s been pissing you off all day is not a mistake but again I will keep it under wraps,” she says, closing her notebook and smiling at him.
“Thank you, Miss. Stark. Really I appreciate it,” the last name that slips past his lips freezes her.
“Please keep your hands to yourself from now on Frank. I’ll see you in two weeks,” she forces a fake smile and turns her attention to her phone which hasn’t stopped buzzing for nearly the whole hour.
Frank leaves her office while she’s completely engrossed in the hundreds of messages that had flooded her phone. Apparently, John Walker didn’t appreciate how James treated him at the fundraiser and decided that she needed to hear all of it. Not even bothering to read all of them, she blocks his number again and tosses her phone away from her. It’s amazing how much of a weasel he can be when he feels he has been wronged.
The phone rings again, this time a call.
“Hello?” She answers, already knowing who it is.
“Hello, sweetheart.”
“Jesus Christ walker. We went on three dates, what the hell do you want?”
A dark chuckle comes through the other end, “You.”
“Well that’s not going to happen so kindly delete my number and leave me alone.”
“Does this have anything to do a certain mercenary?”
“Goodbye,” she hangs up as fast as she can before Walker can drag her further into whatever bullshit her father got involved in.
She sends her father a quick text, “JW’s up my ass again. Call your dog off.”
Her next appointment walks in before she gets the chance to read her father’s reply.
“Sissy!” Morgan Stark screams as she runs down the steps of the Stark Estate.
“Mo Mo!” Doll shares her younger sister’s sentiment as she throws her arms around her and spins her in a circle.
At the top of the steps, Pepper stands with her arms across her chest, staring down at the older Stark daughter. Morgan giggles when she’s sat back on the ground and takes her sister’s hand, leading her up the staircase.
“Good morning,” Doll nods to Pepper who reaches out a hand to stop her from going anything further.
“Morgan honey why don’t do you go inside? I have some things to talk about with your sister,” she says to the young girl before turning her gaze back to Doll.
“Anthony was quite upset with you for leaving the fundraiser earlier without a goodbye. You know he wouldn’t say anything to you because of how much he seems to adore you but it hurt him quite a lot. He really wanted you and John to work out but with the whole Talokan and Wakandan deal going wrong, it just made things worse, didn’t it?”
“Excuse me? What are you talking about?” she demands of Pepper who is slyly smiling at her ‘slip-up’.
“Oh, James didn’t tell you? Stark Industries was using Wakanda as their vibranium supplier but Talokan offered it for cheaper so Anthony went with them. John, being ever the gentleman, was helping us with the transfer when something went wrong and we had to go to James and Steve for help. We’re still not sure what exactly happened but John is again helping us figure it all out.”
Doll scoffs at Pepper’s explanation, spotting holes all over it.
“When exactly did John offer to help? Was it before or after he tried to blackmail me for breaking up with him?”
“That’s not important. He has apologized profusely for that whole situation,” she says, waving a hand around as if to clear the air for John.
She goes to push past her stepmother but her hand grabs Doll’s bicep, stopping her, “You need to apologize to your father for the fundraiser and play nice with John until the whole thing blows over. He’s already spent your life cleaning up after you so make things a little easier on him for once.”
She rips her arm from her stepmother’s grip, “John can go fuck himself for all I care.”
Leveling her eyes with the blonde before her, “You were the one who suggested I get married off, aren’t you? I bet you saw the chance to marry me off and get rid of me for good and you took it. Doesn’t matter if it’s actually beneficial or not, as long as you get your fucking way, Pepper Potts.”
Pepper sighs, annoyed at her stepdaughter, “Apologize to your father and play nice. Now say goodbye to Morgan and leave.”
“Wow, you really are the evil stepmother from every goddamn story. Morgan!” shouted, her eyes never leaving Peppers.
The impossibly happy four year comes bounding down the hallway, swinging her arms as she jumps in front of Pepper and Doll. She wraps her arms around her older sister, bouncing up and down in excitement.
Doll bends down to her eye level, “I’m sorry I can’t stay longer, Mo Mo. I promise I’ll come back and visit soon. Kisses and be good.”
“Awe but sissy!”
“I promise okay? And you know I don’t break my promises,” she places one last kiss in Morgan’s hairline before standing back and flashing Pepper a death glare.
The two disappear back into the Stark Estate she was no longer welcome in. It’s her turn to storm into her own SUV, Steve sitting in the driver’s seat. She slams the passenger door shut, buckling hastily before setting her eyes on the dashboard. Her phone starts to buzz in her pocket but she ignores it knowing exactly who it is and not wanting to deal with his bullshit at the moment.
“You going to answer that?” Steve peeks over at her as he pulls out of the driveway.
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Because I don’t want to.”
Sticking his hand out, “Give it to me.”
“What? No.”
“Hand it over.”
She just pulls her coat tighter over her body, “I’m not a child and you’re not my dad so no.”
“If you’re not going to answer it, I might as well,” he drops his hand to dig into her coat pocket, fishing out the still-buzzing phone. He quickly flashes it up to her face to open it and begins scrolling through the unread messages from John.
“Buck know about this?” He asks, gesturing with the phone.
“No, and he’s not going to.”
“Why not?”
“It’s not important.”
The SUV rolls to a stop at the end of the too-long driveway, “There are well over a hundred messages here. I think he should know about this.”
She yanks the phone back from him, “No he doesn’t. We are not in a real relationship so he doesn’t need to know when someone is bothering me. If he threatens me, then I’ll say something but for me, this stays between us.”
“Can’t make any promises, Doll.”
Notes: There’s only one more chapter of this ending! Yikes! I’m not ready! (You must read Out Of Time in order to understand this. The chapter numbers continue from Out Of Time.)
Tumblr media
Tony was gripping the steering for the jet so tightly, that Y/N swore it was going to crack underneath the pressure. Y/N stayed silent for a while until it became too much.
“Don’t go too hard on him,” Y/N said quietly.
“He deserves it,” Tony muttered.
Y/N sighed. “We need to hear him out first.”
“I’ll give him ten seconds to explain himself.”
“Tony.”
“Fine, twenty seconds.”
“You need—“
“Excuse me,” FRIDAY interrupted, “but Mrs. Stark, there’s an unknown number trying to reach you.” Y/N furrowed her brows. “It’s from the Netherlands.”
“The Netherlands?” Y/N repeated.
“Could it possibly be one of your old team members?” Tony asked. “From SHIELD?”
“I don’t think so,” Y/N responded. “FRIDAY, answer it but immediately began tracking it.
“Already on it.”
“Hello? Y/N?” Peter’s voice filled the cockpit. It was clear he was tired and scared.
“Peter?” Y/N questioned. “What’s wrong?”
“I… I need your help.”
“Tell us where you are, kid,” Tony said. “We’re already on our way to Europe.”
“Yo—you are?”
“Yes, honey,” Y/N tried to soothe his worries. She looked at the control panel where FRIDAY had already located Peter. “There’s a tulip field a little ways out of the town you’re in. Meet us there.”
“Okay.” Peter ended the call.
“Tony, he didn’t sound okay,” Y/N worried.
“No… no he did not,” Tony responded. He reached over and rested one of his hands on her knee. He gave her knee a reassuring squeeze. “We’re going to help him, okay? I promise to keep my temper.”
Y/N’s free knee began bouncing nervously. “I want to portal there.”
“FRIDAY’s sped us up now that we have an exact location. We’ll be there in less than an hour.”
~~~
Y/N could sense Peter as the jet hovered over the tulip field to land. The couple got out of their seats and headed to the back door as the jet landed itself. Tony reached out and took a hold of Y/N’s hand. She gave his hand a reassuring squeeze. They opened the door and could see Peter limping over to the jet, still pretty far away. From what they could tell, he was pretty beaten up and bleeding in a few scattered locations across his body.
“Peter?” Y/N called. “Are you okay?”
“Y/N, is that you?” Peter responded.
“Is it me?” Y/N headed down the jet stairs with Tony in tow, trying to get closer to Peter. “Yeah, of course, it’s me.”
“Stop!” Tony and Y/N froze at Peter’s loud request. “Tell me something only you would know.”
“Peter, it’s us kid,” Tony tried.
“Tell me something only you two would know!”
“Y/N…” Tony whispered. “What do we do?”
“I’ve got this,” she responded, letting Tony’s hand go and taking a careful step toward Peter. “Peter, only myself and, of course, Tony, would know how we met. I had just said goodbye to my SHIELD team for the final time. Tony was leading me out of the bedroom as you were setting the table for dinner. You were so nervous about seeing me. You called be Lady America and told me about fighting Steve in Germany. You promised not to tell anyone about seeing me.”
Peter launched himself at Y/N, clinging to her tightly. Y/N responded with her arms coming around to hold him to her. Tony watched with worry, something bad definitely had to have happened for Peter to act this way.
“You have to tell us what the hell is going on, Peter,” Y/N whispered to the boy.
“Tony was right,” Peter rasped. “Beck isn’t a good guy.”
Tony put a comforting hand on Peter’s back before gently speaking up, “Let’s get you inside and you can tell us what happened.”
~~~
Peter told Y/N and Tony everything. About the illusions and how Quentin Beck gained Peter’s trust only to get the EDITH glasses. Tony sat back and listened, silently, to Peter’s story, never letting Peter know the emotions going through him. Y/N listened to Peter while having a comforting hand on his knee.
Once Peter was done, Y/N made Peter take off his shirt so that she could pull out the bits of debris in him and heal him. Tony was still silently staring at Peter.
“Ouch,” Peter groaned as Y/N used her powers to pull out the debris.
“Sorry,” she responded, trying to ease his pain but not fully take it away so that she would be able to tell if something was very wrong.
Peter flinched again. “Ow.”
“You’re almost done. Relax.”
As Y/N pulled another, Peter punched the table he was leaning on. “Y/N!”
“Relax,” Y/N kindly said, noticing the clench in Tony’s jaw at Peter’s tone towards her.
“Don’t tell me to relax!” Peter jumped up. It was then that the couple could see the redness of Peter’s eyes like he was trying so hard not to cry. “How can I relax when I messed up so bad?! I trusted Beck. Right? I thought he was my friend. I gave him Mr. Stark’s glasses and now he’s gonna kill my friends and half of Europe, so please do not tell me to relax.” He sat down harshly in the chair across from Tony. He sighed, running a hand down his face as he tried to compose himself. “I’m sorry… I shouldn’t shout… I’m sorry... I just really messed up.”
Tony leaned forward, closer to Peter. His hands were collapsed together in front of him, elbows resting on his knees. “Look at me kid,” he gently, yet firmly, commanded. Peter nervously looked up at Tony with tears in his eyes. “You messed up, big time.” Y/N fought the urge to stop her husband, wanting to see where he was going with this. “You gave a terrible man a high-tech piece of equipment and now he plans to kill your friends and destroy all of Europe. Yeah, that’s on you.” Tony sighed as he sat back. “But, you’re not the only hero to have made a mistake like this… I have, many of times… Ultron, to name one… I created Ultron using the Mind Stone. Bruce and I didn’t bother to tell the others. Ultron came alive and tried to destroy the whole world… then came the Sokovia Accords which tore the Avengers apart, which is the reason we all weren’t with each other when Thanos hit that first time… if we would have been, I believe we could have defeated him that first time… all of that—the cascade of events—that’s on me. Just like this is on you.”
“The difference though between me and you, is that you have people that have made mistakes like this before that you can learn from and use their experiences,” Tony continued. “I—we didn’t have that as we became superheroes. You do. Kid,” Tony leaned forward again, “you are the best of us. You need to know that. And even the best make mistakes. So, you’ve made a mistake, your friends are now in trouble because of it, you feel all alone, and your tech is missing. What are you gonna do about it?”
“I’m gonna kick his ass,” Peter responded, his confidence slowly coming back to him.
“Right, of course that. But I mean right now. Like, specifically, what are we gonna do? Because we’ve been hovering over a tulip friend for the last twenty minutes.”
“Right, um. I can’t call my friends because he’s tracking their phones. Uh,” he faced Y/N, “can I have your phone?”
“Sure,” she replied, pulling the phone out of her pocket and handing it over.
“Uh, and, what’s your password?”
“It’s the number three spelled out.”
“Three?” Tony questioned. He had never needed his wife’s password before so he didn’t bother knowing it.
“For three thousand or my three kids. You pick.”
Peter quickly got onto Instagram and pulled up one of his classmates pages. “They’re in London,” he stated. “I’m gonna need a suit.”
“Suit?” Tony repeated with a sly smirk on his face.
Tony hit his hands against he legs as he stood up and walked over to the cockpit, pressing a button on the ceiling. The back jet wall disappeared to reveal a workshop. Peter walked in, taking everything in.
“This is awesome!” Peter exclaimed.
“I know,” Tony shrugged.
Peter got to work with designing and playing with the tech as Y/N came up to stand next to Tony. Tony put an arm around her and held her to his side.
“That was a nice speech you gave there,” she whispered. “How long have you been working on that one?”
“I’ve been prepared for him to make a mistake like this,” Tony replied. “He’s a good kid.”
“The best.” She kissed Tony’s cheek. “He’s almost up there with his mentor.”
Tony and Y/N watched on proudly as Peter got to work. It didn’t take long for Peter to realize they were watching him.
“What?” Peter questioned.
“Nothing,” Y/N responded with a light smile.
“You just take care of the suit, kid,” Tony added. “I’ll take care of the music.” He reached over and hit a button causing ‘Back In Black’ by AC/DC to start.
“Oh, I love Led Zeppelin!” Peter exclaimed.
Tony groaned as he clenched his eyes shut. “He did not just say that.”
“Oh, he did,” Y/N laughed. Y/N gave Tony’s chest a few pats. “How about you go help your son? I’m going to give Fury a call.”
Tony nodded before leaving to go join Peter. Y/N watched with a fond smile as Peter and Tony began bantering and working together. It was great to see the two work so closely, like father and son. After a few moments, Y/N sighed and headed to sit in the cockpit. Using FRIDAY, since Peter never gave her back her phone, she called Fury. She knew that she couldn’t straight out say anything about Beck just in case, so she needed to find out a way to get a message to him.
“What?” He answered. Y/N could immediately sense something was off with him. But Didn’t push it.
“It’s Y/N,” she stated.
“I know. I can see that.”
“I’ve been going through some of my old SHIELD things and found a picture of you and me smiling at a camera.”
“What?”
“Morgan said that we looked really happy. I told her that appearances can be deceiving.”
“It’s not me in the picture and don’t ever call me about any nonsense again.” And he hung up.
“Ever the grumpy old man,” Y/N muttered. “Fury’s got the coded message! I’ll let you know when we’re nearing London.”
No answer was given to Y/N as they kept talking and working on Peter’s new suit. Y/N smirked as she took the jet off autopilot and began flying the jet herself.
~~~
FRIDAY tracked Peter’s friends on Instagram so that Y/N could fly the jet to the correct location. As the jet was almost to London, Y/N put it on autopilot so that she could go back and check on Tony and Peter. Walking back, they were watching the suit being made.
“I got a message to Fury and we’re almost to the Tower Bridge where Peter’s friends are,” Y/N told them.
“Okay,” Peter responded.
“How’s the suit coming?”
“Almost done,” Tony replied.
“Good.”
Peter let out a nervous exhale as he faced the couple. “Before we get there, I… I need to say something.” He finished a broken glass necklace out of his pocket. “If something happens to me, could you please give this to MJ?”
“You’re gonna to make it back,” Tony said, not willing to deal with the other option. “Y/N and I will be here to help you.”
“You’re going to give it to MJ yourself,” Y/N said, “alright? You got this.”
“I got this,” Peter repeated.
“Now, I know you two formed a plan while you were working back here. Walk me through it.”
“I know it’s illusion tech, right?” Y/N nodded. “All I have to do is get on the inside of the illusion, then I can take it down, find him, and he’s just a guy, so I can take EDITH right back.”
“Yes but last time you got hit by a train.”
“True, but this time—how do I explain this? Uh, I have a sixth sense.”
“The Peter-tingle. That’s what you’re talking about, right? I thought it wasn’t working. My senses and May—“
“It is working. Well, I don—I don’t know if it’s working.”
“Great.” She turned to Tony. “You’re okay with sending him out there alone without his sixth sense?”
“I know it sounds weird, especially coming from me, but I trust him on this,” Tony said. “He’s got this.”
Y/N took a deep breath. “Okay, I guess I’ll deal with it. What are Tony and I going to do?”
“You two are going to get my friends out of there and be my back up if needed.”
“You know, I could just—“
“You’re not using your powers, Y/N. It’s too dangerous.”
“I’m with the kid on that one,” Tony said. “We’re going to get his friends out and provide him back up, if needed.”
“Fine.”
Y/N turned around to head back to the cockpit but Peter quickly caught her wrist. Her brows furrowed as she turned to look back at him. He pulled her into a tight hug.
“Thank you for always being here for me… mom,” he whispered. Y/N gasped, tears slipping from her eyes as she held on to Peter tighter. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” she whispered back. She pulled back and cradled his head in her hands. “I’m so proud of you, and I know your real parents are too.”
“You and Tony and Aunt May are as much of my real parents as the ones that passed away… you are my mom, Y/N. Aunt May is my mom. And Tony is…” he looked at Tony who was trying to seem like he wasn’t about to cry. “You’re my dad, Mr. Stark. If—If that’s okay, of course.”
“Kid,” Tony stepped up and put a hand on one of Peter’s shoulders, “you’ve been my son since that first meeting.”
Tony pulled Peter into his arms, clapping his back. Y/N glanced back at the cockpit to see that they were running out of time before Peter needed to be ready.
“I honestly hate breaking up this moment,” Y/N started, “but we’ve got to get Peter in the suit and ready.”
“Right,” Tony said, pulling away and revealing his watery, red eyes. He tried to hide the sniffle as he turned away. “Peter, get ready, Y/N and I will get the jet to the location.”
“You made him cry,” Y/N mouthed to Peter, excitedly.
“I know,” Peter mouthed back, also a little excited.
Y/N gave Peter a thumbs up before heading back to the cockpit.
~~~
Y/N was controlling the jet as Peter changed and crawled out onto the top of the jet.
“Alright, comms check,” Tony said. “Can you hear me, kid?”
“Yeah, I can,” Peter responded. “It’s just a little loud out here.”
“I like the new suit,” Y/N commented.
“Thanks.”
The jet turned the corner and they were able to see Beck’s illusion.
“That’s huge,” Y/N breathed out.
“Yeah, that’s definitely a hundred times bigger than I expected,” Peter said.
“Still the same plan?”
“Uh-huh. We need to get high enough so Beck doesn’t see me coming.”
“Got it.” Y/N guided the jet upwards.
“Hey, mom, dad.”
“It’s going to take a minute for me to get used to that,” Tony mumbled.
“Yes, Pete?” Y/N questioned.
“Is Happy dating my Aunt?”
“Uh, I… I can’t answer that. Tony?”
“You’re going to have to talk to her and Hap after this, kid,” Tony responded. “We really don’t know the answer.”
“That’s just gggreeeatttt!” Peter slipped off the jet.
Tony sighed, a smile growing on his face. “He called me dad.”
Y/N smiled too. “Yes he did.”
“I think I like that way too much.”
“I think you do too.”
~~~
The couple landed the jet and hurried out to find Peter’s friends. Chaos had ensued quickly as Peter had successfully revealed that the attack was all an illusion created by drones. People were running around and screaming, trying to get away from the center of it all. Tony gripped Y/N’s hand as the pushed through the crowds of people.
“Mr. Stark?!” Peter’s best friend Ned called out as him and a group of Peter’s friends ran up to the couple. “Mrs. Stark?!”
“Ned, right?” Tony clarified.
“Y-y-yes.”
“We’re here to get you guys out of here!” Y/N said. “Get on the jet!” They turned only to see the jet exploded. “You wanna let me use my powers?” Y/N whispered through gritted teeth.
“And see you sent to Raft?” Tony retorted shaking his head. “Not a chance in hell, honey. We’ve already risked it too much.” Tony looked around. “New plan, into the Tower!”
The teenagers followed Y/N and Tony into the Tower.
“Mom! Dad!” Peter yelled through the comms. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, yeah,” Y/N responded. “We’re okay. Just go get Beck.”
Y/N and Tony noticed a drone following them as they ran through the rooms and hallways of the Tower.
“Into the Crown Jewels vault!” Tony ordered, leading the group to where he was talking about. “The walls are 8 feet thick! Into the vault!”
“What?” One of Peter’s friends questioned.
“Into the vault! Go!”
A drone rounded the corner and began shooting. The teenagers and couple clamored as they tried to safely make their way to the vault.
“Take cover!” Y/N ordered, everyone, finding a spot behind the displays. Y/N’s hands formed into fists and slowly began glowing purple. Tony caught on and grabbed one of her fists.
“I told you we aren’t risking it anymore,” Tony harshly whispered, making sure that Y/N was meeting his eyes. “We don’t know what Beck could do with the information of you having all your powers. I am not risking you being locked away in Raft.”
“It’s worth the risk so that these kids don’t die, Tony. It’s an easy decision… my life or theirs.”
“No. It’s our life or their life. There’s no “your life”.”
“Do you have a plan then?”
Tony glanced behind Y/N to see one of Peter’s friends grabbing one of the displayed weapons. “Well, I think that kid has the right ahead.”
Y/N turned to see Ned and a girl push down a displayed knight, causing the drone to begin firing at it. The girl that had grabbed one of the weapons hit the drone down.
“Into the vault!” Y/N commanded.
Tony was the last one to the vault, having grabbed a round shield from one of the displayed knights. He threw it at the confused drone and missed.
“How does Cap do that?!” Tony exclaimed as they closed the vault doors.
“Maybe you should have joined us in training more,” Y/N commented.
“Mom! Dad! Say something, please!” Peter called through the comms. “Please let me know you’re alive!”
“We’re here, kid,” Y/N comforted. “We’re here.”
“Thank goodness.”
“We bought time, but not much,” Tony added.
“I’m trying to get to Beck, but I can’t shake these drones!”
“Keep fighting, Pe—Spider-Man,” Y/N said. “You can do this.”
“Mr. Stark,” Ned called, “can’t you just destroy the drone with your suit?”
“Uh, well, I…” Tony started.
“Tell me you did not leave your suit on that jet, Tony,” Y/N demanded.
“Sorry, sweetheart.”
“You have got to be kidding me.”
“Are we gonna die?” Ned asked.
“No one is dying on our watch,” Tony stated. “‘Kay, we need names.”
“I’m Betty,” the blonde girl next to Ned nervously responded.
“Flash Thompson,” the next kid introduced himself.
“MJ,” the girl stated.
“MJ?” Y/N smiled. “Nice to meet you. I hate that it was in this situation. But I—“
“Honey,” Tony reprimanded. “Not really the time.”
“Right.”
“I wasted my life playing video games, and we’re gonna die,” Ned blurted out.
“I have a fake ID, and I’ve never even used it,” Betty admitted.
“I post stupid videos daily for people to like me!” Flash added.
“If it wasn’t for those stupid videos, we and Spider-Man would’ve never found you,” Tony said.
“Spider-Man? Spider-Man follows me? I saved us, guys!”
“If you saved us, why are we about to die?!” MJ retorted.
“MJ!” Both Ned and Betty shouted. “Stop it!”
“I’m sorry, okay?! I’m obsessed with telling the truth even if it hurts people’s feelings!”
“Alright! Stop it!” Y/N yelled. “None of you are dying here, alright?” She turned to Tony. “I’m doing what I have to and then I’m changing their memories. We can’t stay here like sitting ducks.”
Tony studied Y/N’s face, seeing how serious she was. “Fine. Do it.”
Y/N sighed and opened a portal behind them all. “Everyone through the portal!”
The teenagers turned around in shock.
“What—how?” Ned questioned.
“This is so awesome!” Flash exclaimed, getting out his phone to film.
Y/N threw out her hand and blasted the phone against the way, shattering it. “Can’t have any more proof of my abilities out there,” she explained. “I’m sure your parents can buy you another one. Now, through the portal!”
The teenagers didn’t argue with Y/N after that. They walked through only to be brought into one of the Tower hallways. The portal closed right before the drone broke into the vault. Y/N held her hands up and closed her eyes to concentrate. Green tendrils floated from her fingers to each of the teenager's heads, erasing the memory of the portal and filling the gap with another way that they could have escaped. Y/N’s hands came down and she stumbled back.
“Woah,” Tony said as he steadied his wife. “I’ve got you.”
“That—that took a lot out of me,” Y/N rasped, feeling really weak.
Tony picked her up and held her close to his chest. “I told you, I’ve got you.”
Tony and Y/N’s focus snapped from each other to their surroundings as the drones began falling from the sky.
“He did it,” Y/N breathed out. “That’s our boy.”
Tony pressed a kiss to Y/N’s head. “That’s our boy,” he repeated.
~~~
“Well look who’s still alive,” Tony taunted as Fury and Hill walked up to him and Y/N. Y/N was till weak so Tony was holding her close to his side, taking a majority of her weight.
“‘Appearances can be deceiving’,” Fury repeated. “You could have just winked in the camera.”
“Either way, it worked,” Y/N said.
“Only because I had serious doubts about Beck front he beginning.”
“Not true,” Maria said. “He had zero doubts.”
“Where’s Parker?”
“With a girl,” Tony answered.
“I need to speak with him.”
“He’ll call you. Or, we will because you shouldn’t be allowed to talk to a minor.”
“He’ll cal—“ Fury abruptly laughed. “Okay. Well, he better.” Fury turned to leave with Hill.
“Talos,” Y/N called, causing Fury and Hill to freeze. “Don’t be spruced that I could figure out who you were. I don’t know where Fury or Hill are, or why they’re using you two to do their dirty work. But let them know that we weren’t amused by them ignoring us to get to Peter. Next time it happens, I’ll have his head. Make sure to send him the message.”
Tony chuckled. “Remind me not to piss you off,” he mumbled, kissing her temple.
“I will,” Y/N giggled. “Ready to go home?”
“Yes, but I’m still not sure about you forming a portal right now.”
“I’ll be fine as long as you’re there to catch me.”
“Always.”
~~~
FORTY-EIGHT HOURS LATER
“This is breaking news! We come to you now with revelations about last week’s attack in London. An anonymous source provided this video,” the anchorman stated. “The video shows Quentin Beck, aka Mysterious, moments before his death. A warning: you may find this video disturbing.”
“Is Morgan upstairs still?” Y/N asked, unable to take her eyes off of the TV.
“She’s outside playing,” Steve responded, watching the screen as well.
The screen cut to footage of the Tower Bridge battle. Quentin Beck was holding the camera, frantically speaking and looking around.
“I managed to send the Elemental back through the dimensional rift, but I don’t think I’m gonna make it off this bridge alive,” Beck fretted. “Spider-Man attacked me for some reason! He has an army of weaponized drones, Stark technology!”
The video cut to a different scene. Beck’s body was on the ground and Spider-Man was standing over him.
“Are you sure you want to commence the drone attack?” EDITH asked. “there will be significant casualties.”
“Do it,” Peter’s voice said. “Execute them all.”
The screen changed from the footage to a bald man at an anchor desk.
