Nah here’s a little bit of shit that would happen in the short king bakugou house

Bakugou would be in the middle of a little meeting with a few other hero’s discussing the villain take down that just happened a few days ago and he keeps hearing his cell phone go off. He would ignore it and just put it on silent but it keeps lighting up and before he knows it his office phone is ringing. It has to be important if it’s wENT OFF 10 TIMES IN THE SPAN OF 5 minutes. When he looks down it’s his only boy callin his phone.

“What do you want son I’m in the middle of a meeting”

“Aye pops, ma and you got some good ass toliet paper in y’all’s bathroom-“

“- what did I tell you about saying ass, your ma gonna get mine and your ass if she catches-“

He would go silent for a second and then his face would do that ugly ahh scrunched up face parents do when they are getting on to you in public.

“If you don’t get your ugly ass out of my damn bathroom, now I done told you to stop going in there when I’m not home-“

“This shit nice tho fr pa, real comfortable and elegant. Ma did good decorating in here. Aye you think mama still got that good smelling shit she got you for Christmas- that perfume shit. We runnin a bit on the low side on the air freshener”

Then two would literally be arguing and deku and todoroki is just staring at him like what is going on.

Or stuff like bakugou in his at home office signing some papers and his son comes in with his phone on his forehead with the flash recording him and asking him dumb questions and bakugou has the “😒😔” expression like- “what the hell you want, son. I’m clearly busy”

“Damn pop you be smellin like you haven’t bathed why your ass smellin like that?? Ma gonna send you through a car wash if she smells you like that”

“You would know cause you use the same shit I do, brat. Always going through my shit- you act like you don’t got your own bathroom! Your own room!”

Y’all’s son and bakugou are like father like son fr fr cause they don’t know personal space. He will always be all up on bakugou 24/7 and your son takes after his mamas height so he’s taller and a bit heavier than bakugou. He’s always telling him to get his fatass off of him. They literally can be on the couch and next thing you know his son is leaning on him or bothering him in some type of way and bakugou just acts like everything’s fine.

He won’t ever do it to his mama tho, he knows she doesn’t play. None of the kids do it hell bakugou don’t do it. Surprisingly I see their mama being the strict one and bakugou kind of being the fun dad who is always throwing them around and talking so “MEAN” to them. Bakugou is always warning them he gonna tell their mama if they don’t leave him alone. If bakugou ever gets onto them they will immediately go back to their mama which makes you laugh but make bakugou SO FRUSTRATED LIKE DAMN WAS IT THAT SERIOUS??

Y’all’s house is so fucking big cause y’all have so many kids. Even if some of y’all’s kids go off to college they will always soME HOW be in the house eating out of y’all’s fridge. Bakugou will purposely make a bunch of food even if most of them move out cause he knows them little bastards come into the house when him and his wife are gone and just steal a bunch of food and will EVEN SHOW IT AND BRAG ON THE RING DOOR BELLS OR THE CAMERAS IN THE HOUSE. the will get real close up to the camera and brag about how much shit they stole or that they gonna need some more of SOMETHINT cause they took it all or they will do a little dance HELL EVEN FART OR BURP IN THE CAMERA CAUSE THEY FIND JT SO FUNNY AND YOU JUST GLARE AT BAKUFOJ LIKE WHERE DID THESE KIDS GET THIS FROM

Like son not just calling but FaceTiming him to SHOW him posing in your bathroom. Taking a tour of everything and using your hand soap on camera to make bakugo even angrier JRHSIDJKDBFKD. Propping the camera up to dance and shit and bakugo is incapable of hanging up😭😭😭 and having to hide his razors so his son doesn’t start breaking them when he doesn’t even need them. 

and bakugo not realizing his son and him are so alike🥺🥺😢😢 little old men together struggling to change the TV channel or something, sitting buttcheek to buttcheek together all confused w the exact same expression on and needing to call one of the girls to help them figure it out. They fight so much but deep down they’re really so similar and they’re touchy YESSS. Together and with you. get mad about the same things, like when a hero messes up on TV or the store is out of their fave brand of rice dhfjaskdjf🥺

AND I LOVE STRICT MOM AND FUN DAD BAKUGO… like he tries so hard to keep things in order but he’s so bad at it bc he doesn’t feel like his own mom. he just can’t. Mitsuki is so glad ur around to keep her grandkids in check but ajfhskjdj it fits so perfectly to think about him being the lazy dad with all your kids surrounding him watching tv and eating your special mom snacks cuz he’s already mean to villains all day.

(He’s like: “everyone gets one handful. One.” And then the whole bag is gone CLOWNNNNN) rjjfkfk and him being nervous when they snitch on him even tho WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO LIKE ???. Like you said, you’re just laughing and bakugo is honestly surprised like. You’re not gonna bust his butt for getting snappy? NO

I’m sorry my thoughts are so incoherent but this literally deserved it’s own post FR LIKE IM JUST SO GIGGLY OVER THIS this household is such a PARTY LOL but it seems so nice, too. Probably even end up with 2-3 kids you didn’t actually birth too. Kids friends in rough circumstances or something and bakugo hardly even notices. within the hollow crown: more of pre-drarry tbh. such an interesting plot!! harry grudgingly cares for an increasingly spiraling draco who is except under close and constant watch by the dark lord-every second of his sixth year. currently has an ongoing sequel.

imperfection (ongoing): another fic by robin! and another of my all time favorites, so so lovingly written and so tragic and lovely and heartbreaking. really digs into draco's psych and his manic mindset and constant spiral BUT there is light at the end of the tunnel and so much love surrounding him even though it's hard for him to see it. (mind the tags!!)

saviour series (ongoing): wouldn't necessarily call this drarry? more of a stockholm syndrome gothic novel type of fic but i recommend it all the same. the writing is truly extraordinary and the pacing is incredible. will leave you breathless. part one is complete. (mind the tags!!)

perspective series (ongoing): the original books with alpha harry, omega draco in gryffindor, and an adorable friendship dynamic between the golden trio and draco. really sweet, and super interesting. no romance as of yet but there are little moments.

tales of the potters: very interesting take on the arranged marriage trope! i recommend all of this author's works; they have a gorgeous way with words and their work really brings harry and draco to life.

the veiled boy (ongoing): one of the most intriguing recent fics i've read. really delves into character dynamics in such a realistic and refreshing way and draco is so endearing in it. every chapter has gorgeous illustrations.

never in extremity: reread this one recently. equal parts heartbreaking and heartwarming. (mind the tags!!)

eddie's drooling when he sees you, grinning over at you when you catch his eye. the only thing is, there sits lynette, the town whore that's always had a thing for eddie. she's a regular buckle bunny, who's pined after him for years. she's tried everything.

you're seeing red, and it's not just your dress. furious, you go up to chris, grinning and placing your hand on his bicep while he escorts you to get a drink. you don't look at eddie but you can feel his gaze on you.

the whole night goes like that too. eddie watching you flirt from boy to boy to boy, giggling, batting your eyes, twirling your hair. what does it for him is when harrison plucks his hat off his head, placing it on yours with a wink. eddie's had enough.

"'scuse me." eddie grins, calloused hand wrapping around your upper arm. "'m gonna take this little lady from ya for just a second."

you don't protest, letting him drag you, boots scuffing against the cobbled ground of the street. eddie is taking long, striding steps towards the parking lot, unrelenting in his grip on your arm.

"eddie, let go of me! I'm not done hanging out with my friends!" you huff.

"friends?" eddie scoffs, jaw clenching in anger. "fuckin' friends, yeah, they seem like they wanna be your friend." he seethes.

you scoff, rolling you eyes. "oh, don't tell me you're jealous, cowboy." you snap. "we're not anything special anyways. you're too busy with all your other little ladies aren't you?" you challenge, eyes squinted at him.

eddie blinks, scanning your features. "have you lost your mind?" he asks.

"no, but you certainly have. now let me go." you snap, wrenching your arm out of his grasp. "go talk to lynette or-or alice. I don't want to distract you."

"why the fuck would I talk to either one of them?" eddie throws his hands out. "why would I -hey, I'm talkin' to you." eddie grabs your arm, spinning you around to face him. "you gonna walk away from me when I'm talking to you?"

"who do you think you are?" you scoff. "you don't get to talk to me like that. not when you ignore me all week, and then think I'm gonna spread my legs and be on your booty call rotation with those other bitches. I'm not interested in that."

"what the fuck are you talkin' about?" eddie huffs, jaw clenched. "I told you, I had auction all week, and I was gonna take you out thursday, and you said you were sick!"

"because I'm not going to be played by you, eddie!" you shrill in the parking lot, uncaring of the people around you who might hear. "I'm not going to be competing for your attention with these other girls-"

"-goddamit!" eddie yells, slamming his hand in frustration on the metal of his truck. "I don't want any of those other girls. I want you." his eyes are intense, fierce, chest heaving hard under his band tee. you swallow thickly.

"I don't know who's told you I've been with other girls, but I haven't alright? when I'm not workin', or sleepin', I'm trying to be with you." eddie huffed, moving so he trapped you against the car, tattooed arms caging you. "I want you, you little brat, not anyone else but you."

your bottom lips quivers, flushing under his sweet gaze. your lips are on his in a moment, hands raking through his curls in an intense kiss that lead to the two of you fumbling around in his back seat of his truck.

eddie's belt buckle pressed against your thigh, the imprints of whatever saying or figure onto the soft skin while he thrusted into you, hard and unforgiving. his hand cradled the back of your neck, holding you close to his chest, while his other gripped the headrest for balance.

he was abusing that spongey spot inside of you, sure you'd be gushing soon. his thrusts were hard, breath heavy in your ear, curls falling loose from his bun and tickling your neck.

Do you have any favorite regional differences in one myth? Or any fave regional differences in creatures (eg. The different ways to become a werewolf based on where and when you are)

Comparing similar folklore from region to region is always great! But I think my favourite at the moment is the one I discovered most recently, namely the Sicilian version of what most people know as the Grimms' All-Kinds-of-Fur.

In the Grimms' version a princess escapes from having to marry her father (because she is the only one as beautiful as her late mother), by disguising herself in a cloak made of a thousand kinds of fur. She is found by a king who thinks she is an animal, when it turns out she is taken to the palace as a lowly servant. One day she takes of her furry cloak and dresses as a princess again, to go to the king's banquet. He instantly falls in love with her and after two more banquets manages to discover All-Kinds-of-Fur and the beautiful princess are one and the same.

Now the version of this story I fell in love with as a kid is the adaptation in Jim Henson's The Storyteller: Sapsorrow/Straggletag, where they make the relationship between the young King and Straggletag more equal by letting them talk extensively while she's in her disguise and scold him for his pride and vanity. He does not win her until he has proven he respects Straggletag as well as the princess she secretly is.

So imagine my joy when I read a variant of this tale type called Betta Pilusa in Zipes' translation of Laura Gonzenbach's Sicilian Fairy Tales and it goes like this:

After going through the usual method of trying to delay a marriage to her father (asking for three impossibly beautiful, expensive dresses) this young lady (not a princess) asks for a dress made of grey cat fur and escapes to a forest.

A young king goes hunting there and almost shoots her, until she reveals she is not an animal. He asks her name, she says its Betta Pilusa (translated as Hairy Bertha). He asks her if she wants to come to the castle. She says yes, as his maid. He asks where he wants to live, she says in the chicken coop.

The king visits her at the chicken coop every day to talk to her and bring her treats.

He asks if she want to come to the royal ball, but Betta Pilusa grumbles at him that she could never go. Of course she does go, dressed in her first gown, but disappears before the king can stop her.

The first thing the king does is going to tell Betta Pilusa about the mysterious lady and she scolds him for waking her up.

This happens three more times. With the king inviting Betta Pilusa each time and her grumbling and growling at him and then scolding him when he confides in her about how in love he is.

Finally the king is so lovesick that Betta Pilusa bakes bread for him, every time hiding a golden trinket inside it which the king had given to the mysterious lady at the ball.

The cook reveals to the king that it was Betta Pilusa who baked his bread and he finally confronts her and declares that she is the mysterious lady.

Betta Pilusa denies everything and they argue until he resorts to threatening her with almost comical theatricality, after which she dramatically throws off her catskin gown and falls into his arms.

They get married and live happily ever after.

No recap would do it justice, but Betta is so feral (also in her interactions with other servants) and the young king is so honestly interested in her. It's so fun and I'm here for it.

Obanai Iguro: anything you could find featured on a Warped Tour set list. Also loves pop punk and Reputation-era Taylor Swift, but will be caught dead before admitting it.

Mitsuri Kanroji: Arianna Grande (especially her 2013 era). A huge lover of K-pop and girl groups.

Sanemi Shinazugawa: Doja Cat.

Kyojuro Rengoku: he’s such a sweet, good boy. He loves Disney music and show tunes.

Muichiro Tokito: he doesn’t really care much for lyrical music, but he does enjoy lo-fi and vaporwave YouTube channels. Tengen let him pick the music for a party ONCE and Muichiro played “lo-fi anime beats to chill and relax to.”

Shinobu Kocho: Viking death metal, but she only ever listens on her headphones. She never plays her music out loud.

Giyomei Himejima: mid-2010s indie. Think the Lumineers, Mumford & Sons, etc. he finds it calming.

Giyuu Tomioka: 90s/early 2000s divorced-dad rock. Unironically thinks Higher by Creed is a good song. If he ever gets his hand on the aux, the whole group collectively groans.

Soothsayers are born absolute weirdos, that's actually how a Kinship can tell that a cat is probably a Soothsayer. They are all not entirely there, because they walk the line between the living and the dead, this gives them the gift of foresight into the future and the ability to commune with the dead, but it also makes them distant, odd, they act like their minds are often in a whole other plane from regular cats.

In Spindle'stare's case, its just really kooky, an absolute creature. Though she is also very traumatized, which is kinda a given for Soothsayers... but it's even worse for her. As a kit her connection to the Stars was almost entirely cut off, and was instead taken over by the Dark Maw... The Maw wanted control over the Hawthorns, and becoming their future Soothsayer's spiritual source was one of the best ways to do this.

Deep deep down I think that Spindle knows there is something off about her spiritual connection, but she doesn't really process this at all. She pretty much believes that she has a normal connection and is totally talking to the Stars and not the Dark Maw. Sometimes she gets a random breakthrough connection to the Stars and is bombarded by so many messages and warnings from the ancestors she is pretty much unable to process it and just becomes even more confused and overwhelmed, acting even more strange than normal.

As a result of the Dark Maw's hold on Spindle, the Soothsayer has not been able to aid the kinship in ways it should be able to. During Spindle's training and apprenticeship the Kinship went through a horrible illness that killed many many cats, everyone questioned why Spindle was unable to receive prophecies foretelling these deaths, or guiding them to a cure... Spindle was simply helpless and useless in a time what the kinship needed a spiritual guide the most... This event has left the Kinship not all too trusting of Spindle's guidance, and has left Spindle lost and confused as to why the Stars do not with to help her.

Though Spindle seems like an old kooky lady she is actually only around 4 cycles old aka. in her early 30s in human years. Spindle was littermates with Monarch Light'fall, they were extremally close, and Light was often the only one who could keep her stable, in the present, and more herself. Spindle was devastated at Light'fall's death and she fell deeper into the spiritual plane as a result, only Spinde'stare's mate Worm'soil is able to bring Spindle into clarity these days, and it is far more difficult to do so.

Spindle spends much of it's time with her mate Worm'soil, they are one of the few cats who are not creeped out by her, they understand her and love it deeply despite it's strangeness. They were childhood friends, and grew even closer during the era of illness in their youth... both of them bonded over the extreme pressure on them at the time, Spindle with the expectation of life saving prophecies and omens, and Worm with the health of the Kinship as a Healer apprentice.

The two of them are now two fucked up middle aged women(ish) who are just trying to survive their high stress roles in their very problematic kinship... They can often be found hanging out on their lonesome together, with Spindle buried in Worm's fluff <3

Orphan (Cass) and Spoiler (Stephanie) take a break from patrolling and chat about cartoon characters on top of q building.

Orphan: My favorite character would be Patrick.

Spoiler: No way! He's so annoying. I'm a SpongeBob girl.

Orphan: Patrick is lovably dumb, SpongeBob is too loud.

Spoiler: So is Patrick.

Orphan: Not all the time.

Harley: I've always preferred Sandy!

Orphan and Spoiler scream. Spoiler jumps into Orphan's arms.

Harley, groaning: Jacy I understand, why are you screamin? I jumped into the conversation so well and you're screamin? You're masters of stealth!

Spoiler: Thank you, but-

Orphan drops Spoiler.

Spoiler: Ow!

Spoiler stands to her feet.

Spoiler: You sneaking up on me always unnerves me. Since you were Joker's girlfriend.

Orphan: I could hear your footsteps when you made it to the roof, Spoiler's screaming scared me. SpongeBob fan indeed.

Spoiler: Stand by what I said. Back to Harley, hey it's good to see you again, minus the screaming. Sorry.

Harley: You're fine, I should be used to it by now. Spoiler for you and the dark suited one, Orphan?

Orphan: Correct, it's nice to see you as well. You came here for a purpose. Your body language suggests you’re stressed, what is it that bothers you?

Harley: Geez Batman wasn't kidding about your body reading skills. You got me, I need some help with Jason. He hates me.

Spoiler: He kind of has a disdain for everyone. Except for Nightwing ... Signal... and Orphan.

Orphan nods.

Spoiler: Wait, you know his real name?

Orphan: She was there when he died, she remembers his real name from that. She calls him Jacy as an endearing nickname.

Harley, resting her bat behind on her shoulders: Yup, which he hates. I save the kid when he's tied up in a building, we fought Snowflame and I gave him a puffy cat sticka, but he hates my guts. I get it, but we're trauma siblings! We have a special bond that can only be fixed with fighting other baddies.

Spoiler gasps.

Spoiler: Trauma siblings! That's me and Orphan! That doesn't work on him?

Harley: No!

Harley plants her bat on the ground, groaning.

Harley: I even offered my therapy services.

Spoiler, chuckling: Yeah, but you're not an actual therapist, you-

Harley, aiming her bat at Spoiler's nose: If you say I slept with a professor to pass college, I'll bop you in the arm. I am intelligent! Wouldn't have gotten with Ivy if I was a ditz.

Spoiler, lowering the bat: Sorry, dude. To be honest, I got nothing to help you. It took me two years to have Jason talk to me for longer than a minute.

Harley shoulders slump defeated and unsure what to do next.

Orphan taps her chin wondering what advice to give.

Orphan: It took a year to befriend him, you're off to a good start with being nice to him. I suggest giving him a better peace offering. He likes books, get him a book.

Harley: A book? What's his genre fave? What's he like to read the most?

Spoiler: Mystery, fantasy, and historical fiction.

Orphan: No, it's sci-fi not fantasy. I'd recommend something akin to Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, historical fiction he's been wanting to read Lady Macbeth and the Brigerton series, any book will work there. His detective book interests are random.

Spoiler, mystified: Sometimes I wonder how you know these things.

Orphan: Bruce keeps a file on his interests so he can send him the best birthday gifts. He has one for all of us.

Spoiler: Is that why he bought those boxing gloves for my birthday last year?

Orphan nods.

Spoiler fist pumps happily.

Harley: That is sweet, nevah pegged Batsy as the sentimental type. This helps though. I got some shoppin' to do, thanks girls... Orphan mostly.

Spoiler: Hey, I suggested books first!

Harley: You got most of them wrong and no suggestions. She told me about Brigerton. She saved me time.

Orphan: No problem.

Harley waves bye, turning on her heel and rushing across rooftops with ease.

Spoiler: I like her. She's insane, but likable.

Orphan: Agreed. Now Squidward or Mr. Krabs?

Spoiler: Mr. Krabs, obviously.

Orphan: We've arrived at another impasse.

Harley Quinn leaves the stack of books she bought at a book store in Jason's car. She tossed a rock to get in since she never learned to pick car lock. She rund off eagerly.

Jason makes it to his car, sees the broken window glass on the front seat and sighs.

Jason: Oh that's real nice.

Jason wipes the glass off his seat while wearing his gloves then sits in the car. He sees the tote bag of books in his front passenger seat.

Jason: Why are there- Who breaks into a car and leaves a gift?

Jason notices the note.

Jason, reading the note: Jacey- Oh God- I bought as many books that I think you'll like and a couple that helped me when I needed help, but mostly a lot of Brigerton. I got the five new ones. I also found Lady Macbeth the collectors edition. I paid for them with my own money, don't worry, not stealing. I hope this shows I'm truly sorry for what happened to you.

Jason sighs.

Jason: I hate that this is actually a nice gift.

He grabs the top book and sees it's the latest Brigerton book.

Jason: Good damn it I didn't even know this one was out yet. It's a start.
