Well. I have a feeling I'm about to have a million new followers. (March 31st, 2025; not an April Fool's joke, unless Nanowrimo has very poor taste and timing)
youtube
Here's a link that explains in long video format the whole entire thing in detail:
youtube
and to sum it up:
This blog was made as an Anti-Generative AI to Nanowrimo, as well as a way to actually build a friendly, low-pressure, helpful community of aspiring writers, without the hard-fast-do-it-or-die pressure brought on by nanowrimo.
There is no official "contest" -- only a community coming together to inspire each other to write, help out with motivation by setting community goals, keeping participation motivation via Trackbear.app, etc!
The most popular writing challenge is still November for most people, but I myself have also started to keep a year-round, daily writing goal of 444 via the website 4thewords, which has been an extreme help in getting me to write a little at a time.
This year has been very hectic for everyone what with the election results so I haven't been very active on tumblr (I think everyone can understand that) but I was originally planning on also having each month of the year being a different themed writing / art challenge but got a bit distracted real life.
So, what is the Novella November Challenge?
It's a fun challenge where writers come together to write 30,000 (or your own personal writing goal!) words in 30 days, sharing tips, writing advice, plot ideas, accessibility aids, and committing to having fun while explicitly fighting back against Generative AI by using our own words and disavowing the use of scraping and generating to take away the livelyhoods of artists of all spectrums, and proving everyone who insists "generative AI is an accessibility tool" wrong by committing to our creative visions and making it easier for everyone to find the tools they need to succeed by sharing tips, free programs, and finding a like-minded community to support you! 💙
There is no official website, there is no required place to show your participation, this is a community initiative that will never be monetized by predatory sponsors or dangerous moderators abusing their power.
This blog is here to inspire everyone, regardless of experience level, to write and create the story they want to tell, in their own words, while striving to remain a fun, low-pressure challenge that doesn't turn into a stressful spiral, like often happened with Nano.
Want to start writing but not sure how? Don't have money to spend on expensive writing programs? Have no fear!
LibreOffice: An always free, open-source alternative to Microsoft Word (and Microsoft's other office suits)
4Thewords: A website (both desktop and mobile web browser) that syncs your writing cross platform to the cloud, with built-in daily word goals, streak tracking, and you can fight monsters with your word count to game-ify writing!
Trackbear: A website dedicated to tracking your writing, setting custom goals, and creating leaderboards for community participation; you can join the year-long community leaderboard with the Join Code "f043cc66-6d5d-45b2-acf1-204626a727ba" and a November-limited one will release on November 1st as well.
Want to use Text to Speech to dictate your novel?
Most modern phones have a built-in option available on your keyboard settings which can be used on any writing program on your phone, and most modern PCs that allow a microphone (including headphone) connection has some kind of native dictation function, which you can find by opening your start panel and searching your computer for "Speech to text" or "voice to text".
Want to write while on the go, but don't want to / can't use the small phone keyboard to type, or speech to text?
You can, for as cheap as $40, buy a bluetooth keyboard that you can pair with your smart phone or tablet and use to write in any and all writing applications on your phone -- this allows you to write on the goal (especially using cross-platform websites or services, like 4thewords or google docs) , and the small screen can also help minimize distractions by muting notifications in your writing time.

(might become a Starscream x reader, Shockwave x reader thang,,,,) eventual smut! 18+
Tumblr media
Midnight City — TFP Soundwave x f!Reader
Draped in fog and soft neon, the Nemesis cruised slowly across the dark skies. Undetected and reeking of Decepticon malevolence as always yet undetected. The small lights that flickered below were as ignorant as ever, inferior lifeforms that were too busy eyeing their tiny glowing boxes to even look up. Soundwave knew without a doubt that they spent twenty four full hours of the week with their heads bent down. No mistaking it's become an issue among them.
Thin servos dancing over the keys as he watches the human settlement breathe, each streetlamp glistening faintly; a city that never sleeps. His sources tell him. Flickers of data, EM fields that pulse—not enough to disrupt the way his processor regulates but just enough to make the probes attached to his chassis writhe in distaste, primitive security networks buzzing with naive confidence. He's been relentlessly tracking down a signal that's made contact with the Earth's atmosphere a little over two nights ago.
It flashes every few irregular intervals, making it hard to pin down where the signal begins before fizzling out again. Like a dying star. Soundwave doesn't stop, can't stop. Not when this might be the only thing that can fix their current dilemma and he's been alone for so long. He's not sure how much time has passed. The ship's command left in his servos as their forces went on separate paths, vowed not to stray from the cause just had more creative 'ideas' on how to effectively mobilize their forces. He stayed on the Nemesis to keep things within control, to keep himself in control. Knows that his cassettes are also worrying about their situation but when they see him so composed, can feel that relief as it washes over him.
That signal, so similar to that relic's nature... but he can't be too sure just yet. Needs to keep probing, combing through the infantile network that the natives possessed.
Lazerbeak suggested to scout, but he turned it down. This organic settlement is a little too crowded for his liking. Can't risk them getting found. Not with their resources limited. He's been rationing their energon preserves too and he's this close to finding another hotspot of undisturbed fuel. Just enough to get them off of this miserable ball of dirt. The others can't be faring too well, can they? His objective was apparent, precise: locate the signal. Which he watched disappear into the city near the sewege systems.
Not exactly pleasant but he isn't Knockout enough to be picky about it. A red dot appears on his screen and his servos are quick to move, tendrils moving in to help. This is the first time Lazerbeak's seen him get remotely excited over something like a red spot on the multi-screens of his control panel. It's faint but emits a similar wavelength to the one Soundwave's filed away in his data banks.
It's in an area just near the organic's underground mode of transportation. Figures. It's more complicated to single out the signal's location especially if it was underground. Soundwave had discovered pretty recently that layers of concrete, reinforced metal buried beneath the earth didn't allow currents of data to run as easily.
And he'd rather not part with the ship to risk getting his processor overwhelmed with human thoughts and volatile emotions. So he does what he's best at. Infiltrate surface network and seeping into it like viscous liquid. It's fascinating how they make it so easy to extract information from them with their fragile digital infrastructure, trembling with aging code—an easy point of access. Doesn't even need to knock when the firewall practically crumbles at his technological prowess.
• Glancing at the clock, it's almost time for you to close the cafe. It had been a hectic day with Ma finally taking over the latter half of your shift so you could lay back and relax on bean bag chairs in the basement. Said basement was a small arcade area where a select few people in your block would come and relax, too. The space just big enough for a small crowd. It was mostly you and your friends who used it, though. One of their siblings, an electronically inclined person as you like to call them, had their computer setup placed in one of the cozy corners.
• It's... beeping, the screen flashing in red with warnings popping up in a dozen windows. That can't be good, can it...?
• Granted you have no clue how to code things and the like. Or just code in general. You've called your friend's sibling's name. Once, twice, but no response and the very undeniable fact that there might be a virus or worse... someone trying to hack into their device was enough to alarm you.
Interference... suddenly. Out of all the humans on this sad excuse for a mudball, there's one tenacious enough to not only interrupt Soundwave's search for data but crudely walk straight into his network with intent. Curious and reckless, his servos stop moving something that Lazerbeak doesn't fail to notice as he and his fellow cassette look at each other. And then he's back into it, he narrows the scan and slices through the city's digital haze to trace the point of origin. Protocol indicating he should move quietly and observe. It's difficult to keep track of, being so close to their manmade tunnels, slipping through his iron grasp and fading into an almost ambient noise.
• You don't know how you're doing this, you don't even know why and for all you know your friend's sibling could have their entire information compromised! But your fingers move as though possessed and you find yourself unable to stop. And now you wonder if it had anything to do with that incident from a week ago. But you definitely know that someone is actively trying to hack the computer, “You're mine now.” You murmur to yourself, responding in plain text and all the amount of taunt you could muster in you.
Before his tracer could lock on, having every bit the intent to scare this human off by revealing their location because that always worked—a spew of numbers and words strung together with an image attached. His tentacles twitch in anticipation, coiling around itself as his head tilts in instinct. And there you are, on his screen forming visuals on who the very human that's dared to intercept him. Bold move, human, he all but manages to swallow the growl building in his chassis. And that gesture... your middle finger's raised. Soundwave might not know what that means but he'll assume that you're insulting him considering the words that appear right after it.
“Come and get me. Coward.”

Youngest Original ~ TVDU
Mikaelson!OC headcanons
Finn's relationship with Kassandra
TVD Masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two have such a pure, precious relationship
When Kassie was little she used to follow Finn around the village, clinging to his leg, wanting to be carried 🥹💕
He taught her how to ride a horse
HEAD PATS!!!!
Elijah gives her forehead kisses, Finn pats her head
Kassie was extremely pissed when Klaus kept Finn daggered back in 1114. She was ready to throw hands 😤, but Elijah persuaded her out of it
She gave Klaus a whole speech as to why he should undagger their brother, but ofc, Klaus just ignored her
She would repeat this speech every hundred or so years. It never worked
Once Finn finally gets woken up from his 900+ years of sleep he is confused, to say the least.
It was the year 2010 and Finn was shocked but not surprised Klaus kept him in a coffin for so long
He was confused by everything - the way people dressed was drastically different, especially women
The technology really confused him to no end. Electricity in particular or any electrical device really
Kassie was there to help him every step of the way. She showed him how to use something called a mobile phone - he had to give it to the humans, they always were very creative creatures
She and Bekah took him to a place called a barber shop and cut his long hair
Apparently, most men wore their hair short nowadays
He also had a bit of trouble learning the language
They helped him learn modern English - it sounded vastly different from the English he knew
Though in the privacy of their home, Finn would always revert back to Old Norse, their native language
I headcanon that in general, the Originals speak Norse to each other in private
You cannot tell me that once they start fighting they don't revert back to shouting at each other in Old Norse 😭
I also headcanon that Finn is a Libra just like Kassie, both just want peace and quiet and hate conflict
Everyone in the family (and in the fandom) harps on Finn for being boring but Kassie disagrees
She loves his quiet, reserved nature
She is a chatterbox and will talk his ear off but he never stops her. He just smiles and listens even though he understands nothing
Once, they were in a mall, and Obsessed by Mariah Carey was on; the amount of auto-tune did a number on his brain lol.
Kassie had to explain why music nowadays sounded so weird (play one kpop song to him and this man is in the grave 💀)
He much prefers classical music
He once asked her why her eyelids were so shiny.
She had to explain what eyeshadow was. And eyeliner. And fake eyelashes.
He was glad to see she still wore the necklace they got for her 100th birthday.
He loved spending time with Kassie, cause she was the only one who didn't speak badly about his reluctance to murder
She, like him, had a hard time adapting to vampirism, so she gets where he's coming from
She's the only one of his siblings he doesn't hold a grudge against

11, 21, 24, 25 & 26 (im nosy ok) for the oc currently in your minds microwave please <3
walking into my inbox with great shame. sorry for taking so long jez T_T idek when this was sent. i will answer for gray <3
11. what do they have in common with you? how are they different? would you get along with them?
so they really started out as a self insert but has strayed away from that over the years. i'd say we still have a decent amount in common though. we're both mixed (native/white), share a couple similar features like brown eyes, etc. as for personality, i would say we're both pretty quiet and withdrawn.
in terms of differences, they are much braver than i. they're very resilient and more confident than me. they're good at manipulating or intimidating people. they're much more resistant to social stuff and making friends/forming relationships than i am. but i would say they have decent reasoning for it.
i think we could get along though! they are taking me to the bar and buying me club soda while we play pool <3
21. their favorite place to be?
greatly depends on the universe, but outside is pretty good bet regardless. but they like to be wherever their loved ones are too. they're also very fond of botanical gardens.
24. do they have any creative hobbies? (art, writing, music, etc)
yes, actually! they're a pretty good artist, they've always really enjoyed painting (with oils specifcally). blake (their dad) taught them how to play guitar as a kid and they kept his guitar after he left. they don't play it much from like. late adolescence to their late 20's but they pick it up back up eventually once they stop tying to it to blake so heavily.
25. how good/bad is their hearing? what about their eyesight?
again, depends on the universe. but in most, all their senses are pretty enhanced! as a half-demon, they're at their sharpest. so they can see and hear things that most people would never notice which can often get overwhelming for them. in my original verse i'm chipping away at, they're a half-dryad so their senses are a bit keener than a human's but not by a large margin. in wod, i'm thinking they're probably a ghoul (mayyyybe a revenant or an independent ghoul, i'm still working out kinks) so they're enhanced, i just haven't quite figured out by how much.
26. how do they move? are they clumsy? light on their feet? do they use mobility aids?
almost unnaturally light on their feet because of how they were raised. they were primarily under the care of mercenaries/hunters so they were always taught to be agile even when it's not necessarily innate (outside of their dmc story). so you probably wouldn't hear them coming up behind you if they didn't want you to. they're pretty graceful in how they move overall since they can't really afford to be clumsy.

"Nerissa, Initial Concepts" by Dezy Delaceur Digital Art on Clip Studio Paint, 2024
In little moments between packing, moving, unpacking, working, and the general holiday hustle and bustle, I've been playing/reading The Arcana. I've fallen hopelessly in love with this little story, the lore surrounding it, and the playable character I've crafted in my head. As a result, I've used my warm-up time recently to do a little drawing of her. Meet my amnesiac apprentice, Nerissa Helias. 💚
Her design is inspired by Megara from Disney's Hercules, and here are several fun facts about her that I've come up with as I've played:
Nerissa's favorite ice cream flavor is cafe anise.
Nerissa's favorite fruits are pomegranates.
Nerissa's favorite season is autumn.
Nerissa's favorite color is a jewel tone purple.
Her birthday is December 24th, and her MBTI is INFJ-T.
She had taken classes on traditional Vesuvian belly dance.
Besides divination, she is also skilled with painting and gardening.
She is optimistic and lives perpetually with rose-tinted glasses.
She is deeply romantic and submerges herself fully in experiences.
Community and hospitality are very important to her.
Her grace diminishes greatly with heightened emotions.
She is quick to tear up (or sob) over just about anything.
Her familiar is a violet-backed starling named Eros.
Her patroness is The Fool, but her favorite card is the VI of Cups.
Though native to Vesuvia, her parents are nomadic and write often.
She began falling for Julian's smile dedication during the Plague.
(Though, at the time, she had been in a relationship with Asra.)
Currently, she aspires to become a respected local alchemist.
I have this mental room full of characters I've created that hold an extremely special place in my heart - such as Ravani, Olwyn, Miasre, and others that you will see very soon around here - and Nerissa has been quick to join them. I love love love her. Sharing her here also gives me an opportunity to continue optimizing my social media workflow, as I keep ending up with duplicate posts. 😑
If you like my art, stories, and/or concepts, please consider visiting my creative projects website. Also of note: Artwork & writing commissions as well as my art shop are both open at this time. I'll be making a few updates on my website very soon to optimize everything for mobile, fill out my galleries (and likely move away from DeviantArt again), and share some of my fiction work. Expect a year of nonstop creation ahead. I have so much in store for everyone. 👻

My First Foray into AI Filmmaking with Google Flow (and a Toastmasters Tip!)
I recently had the exciting opportunity to try out Google Flow, Google's new AI-powered video creation platform, to produce a short film for my Toastmasters club. It was a fascinating journey into the world of AI filmmaking, and I’d love to share what I learned—including a helpful Toastmasters tip along the way. First the finished product.
youtube
Step 1: Scripting with Gemini
The process began with Google Gemini, which I used to script the video. I asked it to create a short explainer based on this Toastmasters tip:
"Arrive early. Give yourself enough time to get acquainted with the stage or presentation area, and test the microphone and any visual aids you’ll be using."
I also requested scene suggestions to pair with the narration. Gemini responded with a solid, structured script that provided a strong foundation for the video production.
Step 2: Generating Scenes in Google Flow
Google Flow is an impressive tool. It allows you to generate video clips simply by describing them in text. One standout feature is the ability to expand scenes, helping maintain continuity of characters and objects across shots.
However, I discovered that uploading a custom character for consistency across scenes is a premium feature, priced at $129 per month. For this first experiment, that was more than I was willing to invest.
To work around the character continuity limitation, I used close-up shots and creative framing, which helped disguise the inconsistency. Flow’s Scenebuilder feature also came in handy—it lets you stitch together individual clips, fine-tune transitions, and build a cohesive narrative flow from multiple 8-second scenes.
Step 3: Post-Production with iOS Clips
Once I had generated and downloaded the clips, I moved to post-production on my iPhone using the iOS Clips app. Here’s how I pulled it together:
Initial Edits: I imported the video into Clips, trimmed out silent openings, and added a title slide.
Narration: I recorded the narration using the Voice Memos app, syncing it to match the 40-second video runtime.
Audio Integration: I shared the voice memo directly into Clips and embedded it as the project’s main audio track.
Background Music: Because Clips supports only one audio track per project, I exported the video with narration, then opened it in a new Clips project to add background music from the app’s free library.
Final Export: After adding the music, I saved the final version—ready to share with my Toastmasters club!
Takeaways from My First Project
Google Flow is a powerful platform with real promise for content creators. Its ability to turn text descriptions into visual scenes and its Scenebuilder interface make it an accessible tool for storytelling—even with the current limitations for free users.
While the premium character continuity feature is costly, clever scene composition can help mitigate that. Combining Flow’s visuals with mobile editing tools like Clips made for a surprisingly smooth workflow.
What’s Next? Features I’m Excited to Explore
My first project only scratched the surface. Here are some features I plan to explore in future videos:
Advanced Camera Controls: Flow allows precise manipulation of zoom, pan, angle, and movement—ideal for creating cinematic transitions and perspectives.
“Frames to Video” & “Ingredients to Video”: You can upload or generate reference images to influence your video’s style, composition, or continuity—especially useful without premium character tools.
Native Audio Generation (with Ultra Plan + Veo 3): Premium users can auto-generate dialogue, sound effects, and music directly in Flow, streamlining production.
Asset Management: Flow’s tools for organizing prompts, characters, and visual elements are helpful for recurring projects or series-style videos.
Scenebuilder “Jump To” Transitions: This allows for dynamic scene changes while maintaining visual context, perfect for narrative storytelling across multiple environments.
Flow TV: A showcase of user-generated videos, Flow TV includes example prompts—an inspiring way to learn new techniques and spark creative ideas.
I’m excited to keep experimenting and see how far I can push the creative boundaries with AI video tools. If you're a fellow Toastmaster—or just curious about AI filmmaking—I highly recommend giving Google Flow a try!

I've been thinking about this since I answered the ask about gifmaking a little while back, and I've been kind of unsettled about it since. Not because I don't like sharing my process, nothing could be further from the truth, but because I realized that that process isn't entirely accessible. So here I am again with an alternative way to make gifs that's infinitely easier, way more accessible, and just as valid as the other way. I wanna stress that. Anything you put time and effort into is valid and worthwhile. No time spent on doing something you enjoy is ever wasted, not least of all anything creative
That said, this method is considerably more limited. I made gifs this way for years before my brain was quite literally hijacked by an idea I could not get out of my head and I had to learn to do it the fancy way. I was also intensely annoyed at having to rely on my shitty internet to make gifs, and I probably would have made the switch at some point regardless just for that lol
I would also like to stress that this is not necessarily a tutorial any more than the other post was, it's simply a couple of resources and more or less how to use them. Like I said in the other post, never download and install anything to your device without doing your own due diligence first!
details under the cut
So first, you need to get the video. If you're on mobile, your device should have a screen recorder built in. Use that, and be sure to turn on Do Not Disturb so you don't accidentally capture any notifications! Once you've recorded your video, you can use your device's native editing ui to trim and crop the video and adjust color. If you want effects like slow motion, I like Splice on iOS. The big thing is that it doesn't watermark your videos, but it's also just a pretty good app overall for video editing. If you're willing to pay for it, it'll also allow you to make gifs right there in the app, but it's subscription based and the price is absolutely outrageous, so I don't recommend doing that when you could just use a free online converter
Which brings me to the next step: ezgif. You probably know this one, most everyone does, I think, but if you don't, here's the basic gist of it. Select Video to Gif and upload your video there. Be sure to trim it down to seven seconds or less, or else you'll never be able to get it down below 10mb. On the next page, change the size of the gif to 540xAUTO (for Tumblr), then change the frame rate to 20 or 25. More frames means a smoother gif, but it also means a bigger gif, so play around with it to see how the frame rate affects your gif. I don't think there's really a huge difference between 20 and 25, so 20 should be sufficient. If your gif is still too big, you can select optimize and try to compress it a little. The lowest compression level is 5, so start there and go up by fives until you're satisfied. If you get the gif below 10mb and it looks bad, then you should go back and trim your video length down further and try again. After that, simply save the gif to your device and upload it wherever!
PC is more or less the same, you just need to get a third party screen recorder. You can actually use ffmpeg to screen record if you'd like (I don't have the command line for that, however, and at that point, you should just go ahead and use yt-dlp instead to get a high quality video). If the command prompt is too much, you can just use a screen recorder app instead. I like 2-Click Screen Recorder. Again, you can actually use ffmpeg on that video to create frames and then upload those to ezgif, but if you'd still rather go from video to gif, then use CapCut or a similar video editing software to trim down your video to seven seconds or less. From there, the process with ezgif is exactly the same as it is on mobile
And there you have it! Easy mobile gifs! While I do really encourage you to try the "fancy" method of making gifs, this is still a great alternative, and you can make some pretty good gifs this way. Here are some of mine I made this way before I switched:

Fanfic authors dont owe anyone anything yes
But it does show how poorly educated americans are about modern life in alot of other countries.
Or how unwilling they are to learn. A simple wikipedia search could tell you a lot about a place.
Ive met americans who don't understand Cairo in. Egypt is a very large modern city just like ones in america. Yes alot of Americans are surprised to learn people in africa, the middle east, and south asia arent all living in poorly built wooden shacks except for maybe political leaders. Or they do know but they think about it so little or were taught so little that it never crosses their minds.
And most of what americans see of alot of european countries is medieval themed interesting events from the past. Hell if you ask an random, average, american three things about france they will say three of these things
Eiffle tower
Bagguette
Macaroon
Qui
Guillotine
Mime
"Those hats" on artists
And maybe something specific if it happened to collide with a hobby or interest of theirs
Not all americans obviously but a lot of them ive noticed dont know a lot about other countries outside of controversies, cultural aesthetic, and what they were like hundreds of years ago if they bothered to learn.
And thats pretty sad and also limits alot of creativity and uniqueness that fanworks could be made with.
Its not really about "evil americans dont care about anyone else" and more americans dont or haven't really had to think about modern life anywhere except america or a select few other cities in popular countries. They dont consider towns like you'll find in america in other countries. Many think they all live without air conditioning and dirt floors. Everyone does some kind of farmwork or artisanal work. And im not saying no one live like that and im not saying you cant be happy living like that, but many just have such a disconnect from what modern life is really like for most people in other countries.
It would be nice and healthy for american or native english speaking fandom to start having more interest in learning and including other countries and their people.
Ofc there are alot of reasons why many are turned away from doing this, one of which being they dont want to get anything wrong in this world of "cancel culture" and "anti-process-of-learning attitude" and "cultural appropriation panic" that's prevalent in fandom but that doesn't mean it's a bad thing to do.
Link for anyone who is on mobile.
Posting since this is a response to a previous ask and a previous problem.

i just beat Half Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Ultimate Boy
Tumblr media
at least i think so? i beat princess and evil lord 30, and ive been told thats supposed to unlock knight 30, but it just kinda didnt. i wanted to do more of the side modes but i guess since i completed the main campaign i can say its beat? whatever i cant play any more
so yknow how xbox won the 7th gen console war right? the wii focused on a casual market, so its only competition was with the ps3. fortunately, the ps3 cost 599 us dollars (my internet is fucked right now but i promise thats over $1000 today) and was built in such a roundabout bullshit way that yeah you could technically get higher specs, but 3rd parties had no idea what they were doing, so all commercial comparisons made it look bad. i bring this up for irony's sake, because considering that the ps3's fatal flaw as inaccessibility, the psp was a hotbed for indie games. it was popular enough to attract creative devs, but not popular enough to attract shovelware, and digital distribution taking off right about then means that its off to the fuckin races
enter half minute hero, which would later be released as half minute hero super mega neo climax ultimate boy (which ill be calling HMHSMNCUB for short) on steam. congrats on landing the lucrative supermega sponsership!
the main mode is called hero 30, and it works like this. each level is basically an ultra-condensed jrpg. random encounters last like one second, you can usually cross the entire levels map in like 15 seconds, and itll usually that about half a minute to level up enough to beat the levels boss. which is great because every level has a time limit of 30 seconds. theres like a statue you can pray to for more time, but it costs more money each time, and you usually only need to use it like twice max
yeah, the first thing that tipped me off to this being a handheld game is the level structure. you ever notice how few handheld/mobile games there are with long levels or open worlds? the exception is genshin-style gachas, which only really took off to keep up with how phones are powerful enough to emulate a ps4 now. if you ever wondered why luigis mansion dark moon was the only one in the series with a short mission structure, its because its the only game in the series native to 3ds. its to match the ethos of "play a little then move on" that most in-your-pocket games find success with. itd be awkward if you were in the middle of a triple-a cinematic moment when your bus got to your stop
anyway! the game is fun enough. it fulfills the niche its trying to fulfill pretty well, i think. i can imagine busting this out on a steam deck (i dont have a steam deck) on a road trip or something, busting through a few levels. a lot of the levels near the end (im talking level 30 out of 31) took way too long in my opinion, the punishment for failure being that you lose like 20 minutes of gameplay is like a jumpscare in a game that was so fast-paced until then. but other than that, target hit, congrats game
it does a lot for replayability too, which was super important when it came out and still underappreciated now. i was a pretty poor kid, so i ended up just replaying levels in mario 3d land over and over again. games with seemingly endless content like final fantasy tactics a2 were like a godsend, you can just keep playing and playing forever! nowadays i feel like people value shorter games more then ever, but that might just be that im an adult with spending power, so ive got a life with errands and shit AND ive got like a million other games on my backlog.
but i digress. there are titles that you can earn based on your performance in a level, some of which are mutually exclusive. they mostly exist to point you towards scenarios they accounted for and dont want the player to miss out on. like, theres a title for if you reach a village before lava is meant to destroy it, which gives unique dialog. theres also a bunch of equipment in each level that you usually have to go out of your way to grind for, and you dont have a lot of time to waste in this game so it asks for juuuuust enough strategy.
oh yeah, the dialog. this game has a pretty irreverent tone. it likes to parody jrpg conventions, with the villains pointing out that their apocalypse spell will kill them too, and npcs in distress snork mimimimimi snork mimimimi. sorry i dozed off for a sec, im just kinda sick of irony. i feel like i dont have to tell you that it kidna sucks when something is afraid to take itself seriously. that said, i feel like the game does a good job at keeping the tone consistent and keeping it from being annoying. believe it or not, this game doesnt wanna waste your time, so it keeps the quips brief. also the skip button is lightning fast. all in all, not to my taste, but it does what it sets out to do well, so its hard to really insult it for that
theres also, allegedly, a ton of additional modes to unlock when you beat the main game. they shake up the gameplay WAY more than i was expecting, they have totally different fundamental mechanics. evil lord 30 is about summoning different minions suited for different tasks to defeat enemies, like a real-time strategy instead of a jrpg. i love the magic circle mechanic, its so simple but it does a great job of building risk/reward when the time limit is still a major factor. then theres princess 30, which is a fucking shoot em up? theyre all complete with 30 levels and stories that are just as fleshed out as the main campaign (for what thats worth), although there arent the same depths of branching paths and optional equipment. i was VERY presently surprised
but uh... thats where it ended for me. theres supposed to be knight 30 but it just kinda didnt unlock, even though it says online its supposed to show up after you beat the first three modes, which i did. its a shame i couldnt play around with it, but im not unsatisfied with the experience i had. it used to go on sale for like 3 bucks but it hasnt budged from the full $11 since last year, so... i guess i lucked out? personally, i think thats a prefectly acceptable asking price if youve got some space change on you, especially if youre more of a completionist type and you know youre gonna squeeze the extra value out of getting all the titles and shit. for everyone else, its worth a shot if you dont mind more repetitive gameplay loops. if you dont die and skip all the cutscenes and everything you could probably beat this game before the refund window is up, so there ya go
half-minute verdict. i had fun, but i dunno if i would buy it for 10 bucks. humour was meh but i liked the gameplay gimmick and i really like the replay value. wish it didnt screw me outta knight 30

National Popcorn Day
Settle down with a bowl of this classic movie treat, sample flavors from salty to spicy or get creative with edible decorations like garlands.
Oh, Popcorn! Delicious and delightful, popcorn is part of so many traditions. Popcorn balls at Halloween, popcorn strings at Christmas, and delicious buttery popcorn all year round at the movies!
Corn has played an important role in the diets of many cultures, and has spread to be a worldwide phenomenon since it was imported from the new world. So on National Popcorn Day make sure you have yourself a great big bowl of this delicious treat!
History of National Popcorn Day
To discuss the history of Popcorn day, one must understand the history of Popcorn. The original corn was derived from a small grass with kernels not much different than that of wheat. Careful selection and generations of breeding has resulted in what we think of today as the corn plant. When settlers came to the New World from the Old Country, they discovered this amazing crop and that it had been in use for quite some time.
Sometime along the line (possibly even thousands of years ago!), it was realized that certain corn kernels, when subjected to heat, will pop and reveal their soft fluffy endosperm in a cloud around their shell. Before long it was discovered to be a light and delicious treat, and cultivation led to the popcorn we have today.
There are actually two types of popcorn, but the familiar yellow popcorn we all see in movie theaters is by far the most popular. Popcorn has been used for everything from arts and crafts to the foundation of some of the most popular treats around. You can find it just about anywhere you go. The National Popcorn Board decided that this fluffy treat needed a day of celebration and recognition of its own, and thus was born Popcorn day!
National Popcorn Day Timeline
3600 B.C. First known use of popcorn
While it is unclear how far back in human history popcorn goes, a cave in New Mexico shows that popped kernels of corn may have been in use more than 5000 years ago.
1885 First commercial corn popping machine invented
After settlers to the early US colonies learn about the tradition of popping corn from native peoples, the industrial revolution prompts the invention of a machine to do the work. Charles Cretors of Chicago makes a mobile machine with a gas burner that can roam the streets and supply popcorn to pedestrians and movie-goers.
1981 Microwave popcorn bag patent is approved
Making popcorn even quicker and easier to eat, the General Mills patent for microwave popcorn bags is approved. Intake of the snack increases by thousands of pounds in the following years.
1988 National Popcorn Day coincides with Superbowl Sunday
Announced in The Calumet City Star, as well as other publications, National Popcorn Day is placed on January 31st, presumably to coordinate with families all over the United States who are throwing Super Bowl parties.
2003 First recorded incidence of National Popcorn Day on January 19
No one is really sure why it is moved, but a newspaper in Brownfield, Texas, gives the first indication that National Popcorn Day has been moved to January 19. And this date seems to stick!
How to Celebrate National Popcorn Day
Celebrating National Popcorn Day is as simple and delicious as it comes! You can start by just enjoying a bag of popcorn with your favorite toppings, and oh what delectable variety there is.
Ways to Enjoy Popcorn
You can have it with a classic mix of butter and salt, or get creative and add your favorite spices and herbs to it! There really isn’t anything that doesn’t go wonderfully with it. For a light heart-healthy addition you can skip the butter and shake it down with herbs like rosemary and thyme, or spice it up with cayenne. Or you can forgo the healthy options and bury it under a delicious coating of caramel and bacon, and really enjoy the decadence.
Go Global with Popcorn
First made readily available in America in the early 1800s, this delightful treat has grown in popularity so that it is now a delicacy found the world over. And different places seem to enjoy their popcorn in different ways:
Japan. In addition to the standards, folks here appreciate flavors such as honey, milk tea, and curry.
Europe. Enjoyed here as a sugary treat, popcorn is often sold in bags at the cinema, rather than freshly popped.
Nigeria. Best enjoyed by popping it in the microwave, a preferred flavor of popcorn here is fruit chutney.
India. In addition to the standard butter and salt popcorn, popcorn here can be found in unique flavors such as miso soup, Thai red coconut, and anchovy garlic.
Crafting with Popcorn
You can also celebrate popcorn by doing crafts with it! Popcorn strings are a wonderful decoration or use them to make garlands or even glue it to construction paper for a collage.
String or glue popcorn onto a metal or styrofoam form to make a festive popcorn wreath to welcome friends into your National Popcorn Day party. And don’t forget the paint and glitter to glitz it up even more!
Popcorn can even be used as a filling for glass Christmas ornaments to make cute decorations that give a little nod to the day.
Grab Some Gourmet Popcorn
If making popcorn at home doesn’t sound like fun, then go fancy by including some of these gourmet popcorn brands in the celebration. These companies are dedicated to making the best there is to offer in the way of popcorn treats:
Garrett Popcorn Shops. Originally located in the Chicago area, this company specializes in mixing Caramel and Cheese flavors for an extra unique blend. Shops can now be found not only in the United States but also in many places in Asia as well as the United Arab Emirates.
KuKuRuZa Gourmet Popcorn. Started in Seattle but named after the Russian word for “corn”, this company now does business in many countries in Asia and the Middle East, with online ordering throughout the world. Special flavors include Truffle Fromage Porcini, Seattle Style (Espresso Caramel), and Brown Butter & Sea Salt.
Harry & David’s Moose Munch. On the sweeter side of things, Moose Munch is a popcorn based treat that has been delighting fans for 25 years with its blend of popcorn, nuts and chocolate. If there’s no local shop nearby, online ordering is easy–or copycat recipes can make it simple to recreate at home.
Proper Corn. A fast-growing company in the United Kingdom, this popcorn company started in 2009 and has been delighting healthy snackers ever since! Look for flavors such as Sweet Coconut & Vanilla or Sour Cream & Black Pepper found in grocery stores in Europe as well as online in other countries.
The fun of popcorn can be enjoyed almost anytime, but National Popcorn Day is a particularly special day to celebrate this tasty treat. Popcorn is delicious, affordable, healthy (that is, before adding all of the butter, salt or sugar!) and can be enjoyed in a multitude of ways that is sure to delight everyone around.
Get creative for this special celebration and live up National Popcorn Day to the fullest with children and adults of all ages!

I thought this one would be just another developer of mobile game that use The Sims 4 contents in its (fake) ads to fraud users by making people belive it is its game, when it has a completely different gameplay.
Unfortunately, Room Makover by FlyBird Casual Games is much more than this.
Room Makover has plenty of false ads. This time I actually tried the game, because the pictures and videos on Google Play were cute and I decided to give it a try.
I was so naive. Happens that the whole page on Google Play is full of fake contents.
It's just one of those mobile games in which you have to match and remove nails. Every time you pass a level, you will rewarded with bills that you can use to unlock part of a building under "makeover". You have just three option for every part of the building or the room to choose between.
There is nothing creative. Not actual building or cluttering rooms or decoring.
As, always, since I'm a curious little bitch, I decided to dig further into this FlyBird Casual Game and... Oh. God. Their site looks even less legit than LUCKY FORTUNE GAMES' one!
It is just a void page. There is nothing here. NOTHING. The only two working section are the privacy and conditions of use, in which they try to convince you that they didn't have any liability for damages or fraud committed.
The privacy one is curious, because mentions this Commissioner's Office in UK and a long list of partners. Both for ads and for data collection, which is hugely uncommon for this kind of games.
Sooooo... In this magical list of apps, I noticed a few tech nightmares, which I will explain briefly here:
Aarki is an AI company that builds advertising solutions to drive mobile revenue growth. Traslated from bullshit: they use AI to generate fake ads and sells it to shady corps.
Blind Ferret is the big deal here! Not only gave you digital marketing solutions, data collection and analytics, but also pays influencers and product placement on social media to promote the game and, hear me out, CREATE fake ads too! It's literally written in their site: "Our Creative Services don’t just make things look pretty. Our team uses data to guide us! How do we make brands shine? By turning the arts into a numbers game with top-performing creative content." This include: Graphic Design, Illustration, 2D Animation, Video Editing and Composition, Copywriting and conceptualizing.
InMobi is a big Corp that does native advertising, which means promoted contents, collabs with influencers, etc.
Ironsource. This one is a fucking cancer. IronSource Ltd. is an Israeli software company that focuses on developing technologies for app monetization and distribution, with its core production focused on the app economy. That would sound harmless, but Samsung use it in its budget and midrange smartphone to install multiple third-party apps during the set-up process. This platform slips bloatware on the pretext of recommended apps, leading to apps clutter and reduction in on-board storage space. The only purpose it exists on Samsung phones is to download games without your consent with no way to remove it (no app installed).
Mintegral is another fucking tech nightmare. Not only poses serious threats to your privacy and datas, but also uses malicious codes to spy your activity and when you seem intentioned to install a mobile app, Mintegral’s software would then fire off fake clicks on non-existent ads to claim credit for the install and essentially collect a bounty from app publishers who pay ad networks to promote their apps.
Mistplay is one of those "play to earn bucks" that I find very very dangerous. Because YOUR data are their revenue.
Tapjoy does monetization of ads and also surveys, that force users to download one from a long list of games, download it and playing for hours or since it is gained some in-game prize. This surveys are rewarded with credits and user can spend on the mobile game they actually want to play. Tapjoy has a huge market among IMVU users, who need credits to buy piece of clothing and accessories for their avi.
The other apps do mobile app marketing, using data collection that allow shady corps to target more gullable and naive people to scam. Plus they do also monetization surveys to earn money and at the same time forcefully grow the engagement of this shady corps.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obviously, there is no user support mail listed in their Google Play page, but at least this has a contact mail listed on their website: [email protected]
As always, stay safe and please tell me if you know more about everything above or know the person who create this build first.
Help people to stay safe.
Thank you.
<<< previous Coloring app uses design of The Sims 4 builds without the consent of the creators and other mobile developers steal TS4 speed build contents and claim it's the actual gameplay of their mobile game.
