Tumblr media
I feel like joining in on that Sinking Town trend because it's my favorite song by Yoeko, and I want to combine some of my favorite things.
But before that, I’ll need to watch like 30 tutorials on how to use CapCut—and also, I first need to finish my exam week without losing my sanity in the process.
So for now, here’s this little drawing of the Doll and my headcanon of Maria that I made as the base idea I have. I also took the chance to go back to using textured brushes and improve my rendering. I’m actually pretty satisfied with how it turned out—I'm not used to working with that color palette, but luckily I feel like it looks good haha.
Now I’m off to try to draw the damn city of Yharnam because I'm too dumb to just take a screenshot—I have to draw it or I’ll feel like a useless artist.

Yes, this is a new account, I just made this. I don't care if people question the authenticity of my post, my experience as a shifter, or whatever I'm about to say.
I don't know how to use Tumblr, nor do I know how to make my post reach people who need it, nor would I be a narcissist and say "you're lucky if you found my post!" I don't mind if this reaches an audience or not, I'm glad to get everything off my chest.
Yes. I've shifted.
I have shifted realities, more times than I can count on my fingers, and that is for a very specific reason, which I'll explain later.
I'm writing this because I'm about to permashift, and no, I won't hear out any antishifters or people who don't like permashifting in general, I don't care about your opinion so don't waste my time.
Before I start, I'd like to say one thing:
I was irrational minded, I lacked belief in myself and shifting. Shifting often times felt like a chore more than a fun activity, and i have to admit, it became an unhealthy habit.
So? Why did I mention this?
Because I had been lurking around shifting communities and I realised everyone feels like this, a very (mentally) painful feeling where the lack of shifts starts acting as your biggest enemy, and the phrase:
"Shifting needs practice!"
Sounds like poison when it comes from an experienced shifter.
Though, is the phrase actually true?
No, not at all.
Shifting does not need practice!!
Here's why:
(BTW, I will explain my "method", no matter if I have time or not. Also, I don't call this reality "Current Reality", instead I call it Void reality, so don't get confused.)
The "practice" you're doing is only affecting your void reality (taking time out of your day, making you constantly think you're in your learning phase, so it doesn't exactly lead to your desired reality, does it?)
Of course, if you view it as a skill, it will in some way act like that, it'll become a skill for you, and you can never succeed on your first, second, third, hundredth try, because in your brain you have registered the fact that shifting is this grand, universal task, and that it is very difficult (because its common sense that you practice difficult things to get good at them)
Practice is a very humane and earthly act, if people have succeeded doing just practice, then good for then, they're right in their own way, but it didn't work for me, and in my opinion it's the worst way to view shifting, and often times it is demotivating, and you'll mess up you're entire journey.
Shifting is not a skill, shifting is a universal law.
I'll become more clear as I explain my journey:
My journey:
I found shifting from a random YouTube video 3 years ago. I might have only said cool and moved along.
A year later something traumatic happened in my life, which shook me so badly I needed an escape.
First of all, I chose astral projecting, but I realised I was too much of a coward to do so.
Then I came towards shifting, first DR was very typical, it was Hogwarts.
Having no knowledge whatsoever in the topics of spirituality, meditation, I went straight to methods, because they were like guides for me, I was very inexperienced, of course, and looked at other people and what they were doing for guidance.
Alice in wonderland method didn't do much, raven method was too uncomfortable (side note, all this raven method does is make you too focused on your void reality, cmon, in your DR are you laying down like a starfish?) And I was having terrible trouble with my intrusive thoughts (which made the floor disappear from under my feet, made the stairs for the stairs method too short to climb or straight up made them dissappear as well)
I didn't have any luck that year, no mini shifts, no lucid dreams, or sleep paralysis. And my DRs never remained constant. They always changed on a daily basis.
I was big on methods, I couldn't realize they never worked for me.
Although, this year of failure led me to finally figure out where I belonged.
A DR made out of scratch, which I spend much effort in putting the pieces of it together.
The DR, which was called "Home reality" really made me feel settled in my journey.
LOA, and the consciousness theory were the leading factors which made me shift.
And don't worry, it isn't what you're tired of being told, I didn't just apply any orthodox definition of LOA and succeeded.
Background to my first shift:
It was a particularly stressful day, I really missed my home.
I was studying at my college (I still am, but...) and I was dreading giving a chemistry test, I did not prepare. In my mind, one thing was constantly looping in my head.
The scenario of the chemistry teacher coming in, and taking the test, and the next day I get it handed back with a big fat zero.
But then I stopped and wondered, having already known about the consciousness theory, so according to it:
"I am constantly letting this thought run in my mind, and constantly letting this reality dictate what happens next."
Basically, I realized what was about to happen next was indirectly in my control, but with my line of thinking, I was letting this reality control it directly.
I stopped, like actually stopped thinking.
And with a blank mind I thought.
"I won't have to take any test today."
And went around telling my classmates this with a confident tone.
The teacher came in, said we'll instead do some practicals in lab.
So the test got cancelled.
Going home, I got excited, i felt powerful.
I decided to apply this to shifting.
Before shifting, I took a nap during the day, (if you're tired your body insists on sleeping, so your mind will get hazy and you will start acting lazy towards your goal)
And after living how I normally would, before bedtime, I listened to some songs, and look at a Pinterest board which reminded me of my home reality.
My method and what happened next:
First phase of shifting:
When I laid down on the bed to start shifting, I first got comfy (for me, if I feel sleepy for some reason, I laid on my back, I can't fall asleep in that position, but if I think ill stay awake until I reach a "detached state" then I sleep on my side, it's comfortable)
I obviously wasn't checking the time, but I spent about 10 minutes getting relaxed, all I do to relax is:
a) look at the blackness (closed eyes, looks like starry skies) and try to believe I'm looking at the milky way.
b) think about my home reality, just faces of my loved ones, and nostalgia inducing images.
c) Affirm, but don't focus entirely on affirming, usually in the back of my mind I'm repeating "I have shifted to my home reality" "I have shifted my senses to my home reality" "I have stopped sensing the void reality" "I am smelling, tasting, feeling, hearing and seeing my home reality" no other fancy affirmations required. (Now that I think about it, you need to affirm NOW because this method has two phases, one where you are shifting, and one where you have shifted, and you are in the 3D, where you are occupying your DR self, their thoughts, and memories, and popular method usually only have one phase, either you are shifting, or have shifted. So my point is if you affirm later and you'll be affirming when you're supposed to be in your DR, and obviously, your DR self won't be spouting out affirmations about shifting to a random reality for no reason.)
During this time, you'll feel tingly all over. It's a good sign.
And you'll feel a certain detachment, like you aren't exactly here, you have no idea what position you're lying in, and where your feet are. (Please, for the love of God do not start counting your feet or get freaked out that you can't feel your leg, you'll come back to the void reality.)
So you can start the next phase.
Middle phase (optional):
To prepare for the next and last phase, you can do this to get ready, or don't (First read the third phase)
This is all about connection to your DR.
Think about memories from your DR, focus on the faces of your loved ones, the way you act, talk, your mannerisms in your DR, or you can simply say affirmations like these one:
My name is ___.
I work as a ___.
My age is ___.
Don't try to imagine vividly or anything, lightly touch upon the basic details of your DR, the construction and foundation of any reality and the person, who has existed there for their entire life.
(That's you!)
Phase three:
Take a sudden, abrupt stop from your stream of thoughts. (Yes intrusive thoughts will still pop up but don't give any importance to them) when you're in a blank state of mind, not longer than 30 seconds, you need to build up to the last step of your shifting method, and journey.
a) start imagining hearing the voices of your loved ones or just any voice, calling your DR name, your nicknames, with different tones. (For example, i heard my name in an angry tone from my father when he was scolding me, I heard my name followed by a laughter when my S/O teased me.)
OK, for me, I started feeling intense, groundshaking symptoms at this moment. Sudden flashing of lights, extreme feeling of floating, and ofcourse, feeling tingliness so much that it felt like pins and needle on my entire body. (I did ignore the symptoms)
b) plan the rest of your day in your DR, which you will be spending.
AGAIN, PLEASE DON'T SAY IT LIKE THIS.
❌️When I reach my DR ❌️ I will have to go to that eye specialist for that appointment.
Instead: (and the more you personalize it, the better)
Ughhh, I have to go to that appointment- this day will suck.
(Don't mind my example, that was the only thing I could think of at the moment)
c) in this reality, you are constantly thinking of something, your thoughts are definitely what constructs this reality, and your current thoughts are affecting your subconscious. (By this point, your subconscious is grounded in your DR, so don't worry about that bastard.)
Now, you're going to start thinking, thoughts which are going on in your DR self's mind, start with one sentence, with which you'll be able to start consciously thinking like your DR self.
And think in the style, tone, and mood of your DR self, and keep the thoughts strictly related to your DR.
Thats it, but what happens afterwards? And what happened to me?
So for me, I started feeling weird while I was thinking.
And I remember I thought this:
"Ugh, I don't want eggs for breakfast."
(I'm not saying this is the key to shifting, at this point, I had covered various topics, including, weather, my upcoming work assignment, and praised my S/O for a good 5 minutes.)
And I started panting, like suddenly I was trying to catch my breath, the room felt bright, so I opened my eyes, and well, I was in my home reality :)
I was delirious for a few second, my S/O was looking at me worriedly, but surprisingly, it didn't even take me a minute to adjust, it felt all so natural and I wasn't scared.
I didn't even feel emotional, at all, and didn't hug my S/O with tears in my eyes, I straight up asked to be served breakfast, incase anyone was wondering.
So that's it.
Although i have much to say, I'm tired of writing, but I'm more than willing to answer each and every one of your questions, although I only have 7 hours left till I permashift, I'll remain mostly active till then.
And no, I'm not rereading this to fix my grammar, so just ask if anything confused you.
Ask away.
I'm still not sure if this'll reach anyone or not.

stop being afraid of your confidence
Tumblr media
one of the problems i had when i began reality shifting was that i constantly believed that my confidence of "i'm going to shift tonight" will end in disappointment. however, this didn't just go for self assurance, but also other aspects.
i would spend most of my time researching, not to learn new things, but to reassure myself. i didn't believe in myself or the information i was receiving as well as i wished to.
my completely false narrative that everything has to go one way to work properly was what held me down. instead of making my current mindset and preparing my comfort to move forward, i constantly tried to change, believing that all i need to shift is far from who i actually am and what i have.
idolization
maybe there's that one influencer who posts shifting content that shares information and experiences, and you envy them. heavily. the truth is, no matter how much you try to follow their advice and shift in the way that they do, you'll always be reminded that you don't know them. their intention is likely to help you pick up some different advice and experiment with what you have, but if your immediate instinct is to try to integrate into their routines and headspace instead of employ yours, you're putting in more unnecessary work to adapt a mindset you don't even know the half of. sounds tedious, right?
doubt
doubt can be rooted into past misinformation, unlikelihood, people doubting you, and more. the thing about doubt is, most shifters do almost anything to try their best to get away from it-- the biggest thing is, suppressing it. DO NOT DO THIS. suppressing your feelings will let them grow in an untouched area of your mind; allowing these feelings to nurture and stick to every new piece of information you have will eventually intoxicate the open-wonder you have to new ideas. instead, begin to find out where this doubt lies. is it in yourself? is it in shifting as a whole? if it's in shifting, then begin looking into not only shifting, but relating topics. multiverse travel in buddhism, the multiverse theory, astral projection, quantum theory, quantum immortality, and more. these are not the exact same as shifting, but fall under the same idea of travel between multiverses. these relating explanations and theories will help you put the dots together. if your doubt lies in yourself and what you are capable of, realize that this isn't a situation of moving houses-- you are able to shift anytime and anywhere. you don't need a comfortable bed and 2L of water to shift your awareness. you don't even need a script. it's a matter of assuming and settling in. you are in your desired reality, just as much as you're in this one.
a need for routine
know- you don't *need* a full blown method, meditation, or routine in order to reality shift. you don't need to know exactly how your room will look, how you will look, how your house will look-- it's nice to know these things, but they aren't completely needed. when you take a nap, you automatically assume that you'll wake up in the same space, same reality. you don't think anything of it. assume you're waking up in your desired reality. as you close your eyes, simply acknowledge and regard your desired reality as the reality you're going to be in. think of when you'll wake up, and where. understand the process, there is no almost. the biggest thing is, this reality won't feel new or unfamiliar. because it isn't. you're just as fond of that reality as this one, because you've grown up in there too. that reality is yours.
do not nurture a mindset of common doubt. it won't help you. you deserve to shift just as much as the next person.
you're not special.. you shift too.
Love, Zia

Danny is the Tibetan Monk
So! When Bruce was travelling the world, finding masters to teach him how to fight and investigate, he came across a strange building in Tibet.
He had followed rumors of an ancient Monk who lived atop a mountain just on the edge of a Village, who had learned how to conquer Death itself, and stole its secrets for himself. Hoping to find a new Teacher, Bruce climbed the mountain and found the home of that Monk.
What he found was strange though...
The building seemed much more modern than he had been expecting, built with metal and drywall rather than ancient bricks or stones as he had assumed. There was also a strange machine on the top of the building, and if he didn't know any better he would have said it almost looked like a spaceship.
Hesitantly, he knocked on the wooden door and waited.
The man who answered looked nothing like he had expected, but so far nothing had met his expectations so he wasn't really surprised at that point. He looked relatively young, in his late 20's or early 30's, and was wearing a simple T-shirt and jeans. He had short black hair, blue eyes, and pale skin that didn't exactly match the tone of the other people living in the area. In fact he looked as if he could have been an American, rather than Tibetan.
Bruce introduced himself, explained why he was there, and managed to convince the Monk that he deserved his training.
It was unorthodox, certainly very different from the training he had recieved in the League of Assasins, but the Monk said that he was well suited for this style of training.
Under the monk he learned a variety of techniques. The ability to shield his mind from Telepaths, how to Astral Project, how to completely hide his presence from others, even from those with enhanced senses, and so much more.
By the time he was finished training with the Monk, he was confident that he could finally achieve his goal of saving Gotham from itself. He bid the monk farewell, and returned to his home ready to begin the legend of the Batman.
Meanwhile Danny had just sent his most recent student off after a few months of training.
He had to do this every once in a while. There were hundreds of Liminal and Ecto-Contaminated people out there in the world who didn't know how to manage their abilities. They didn't know how to innately seperate from their physical bodies so they could more easily feed on natural Ectoplasm, or how to shield their minds from the volatile stray emotions of the people around them thay may influence their thoughts.
It was dangerous for people with that level of Ecto-Contamination to live without knowing how to keep themselves healthy. So every once in a while, Danny would find a way to contact them and to teach them all they needed to know to stay healthy.
The "Centuries Old Monk" routine was an old favorite of his for this purpose. He would intentionally spread rumors where he knew they would hear, add in some incentive like "conquering death" to make sure they would follow those rumors, and than meet them and take them under his wing.
A few of his other favorite routines were the "Circus Act who knows more than he should", "Mechanic with great advice", and sometimes even just "Life Coach" for the more conventional cases.
And if he heard Bruce's story and decided to teach him how to use a few extra useful Ghostly Abilities, like hiding your presence or merging with Shadows, then who could really judge him? The kid had taken up a huge burden, he needed all the help he could get.
Besides, its not the first time he's ever done that.
...
Years later, Bruce met Dick and found out that he also knows how to Astral Project and Guard his Mind. He couldn't merge with the shadows or hide his presence nearly as well, but he could apparently slow how fast he fell and bend in ways even bruce couldn't.
Apparently he was taught how to do so from an old member of Haley's circus, who told him that they were meditation techniques to get "in the zone" for his trapeze acts.
Then he met Jason, who could also Astral Project and Guard his mind, and he could also heal faster than normal people and read other people's emotions. He learned from a Mechanic who used to live on his street, who told him it was just some street skills that would let him avoid the people who would hurt him or give him trouble.
Then Tim came in, also with Astral Projection and a Telepath-Proof mind, and he could apparently last for weeks on end with no food or even water, and could hide his presence from even Batman. He was taught by a butler his parents had briefly hired while away from home, though Tim's parents didn't know what he was talking about when he brought it up to them later. He was told it was just a way of "keeping his spirits up" when he was alone.
Stephanie had also been taught by an old Mechanic on her street. Same as all the other she could leave her body behind and guard her mind, but she could also read emotions and convince people to do what she said. The mechanic never gave a reason for why he was teaching her, but did say that it would help her gauge the people in her life easier. He left barely a week before Steph realized her dad was the Cluemaster.
Damien was, suprisingly, trained by the same Master that Bruce had been taught by. Talia had sent him up the mounting saying that his Father had learned from the man on the mountain, and he would as well. He was taught the same as all the others, though instead of merging with Shadows like his Father he was taught how to converse with Animals.
Cass had been taught by a man while she was running from her Father. He never said why, only that it would help her live a better life. She had the "normal" abilities of Astral Projection and Guarding her Mind, but she could also Merge with Shadows and Perfectly Read other people's emotions beyond their body language.
Duke was taught by a man who had also taught other members of "We Are Robin" during the cataclysm. He said it would help them survive their attempts at heroism, though he gave Duke extra training for some reason. He had taught Duke even more than he had taught the other Bats, alongside the now typical Astral Projection and Guarding his Mind, Duke could also talk to the Dead, See into the Past, and even Phase through Walls. With enough effort he could even Fly.
A few of his abilities were attributed to his Metahuman Powers, but he claimed that they were never that powerful before that man came along.
He also said that the man "Glowed" in a strange way. He was the only one who could see it among the members of We Are Robin, even the others he had taught.
Bruce had long since decided he needed to pay his old Master a visit.

A DC X DP IDEA #46
Monks?
Imagine dis…
I don’t know if im late to the trend or what, but recently a feed came and it featured Batman’s ridiculous set of skills and when asked he always answered the Tibetan monks.
Like come on, I would understand if the sorcerer supreme taught you how to astral projection and the mental barrier against I don’t know against a species that have evolved telepathy,
But this isn't Marvel.
…..
The Tibetan monks, an enigmatic, unknowable, and allegedly not real, were the whispered origin of some of Batman’s more peculiar skills. Astral projection. Mental shielding. The ability to remain entirely unreadable even to a Martian. When asked how he learned such things, Batman only offered a cryptic, “I trained with the Tibetan monks.” He never elaborated.
That was all it took to spark a minor obsession in his children and allies alike. If the monks could turn him into Batman, surely they were worth finding. And so they searched from combining every high-tech gadget, satellite scan, magical locator, and favor they could think of. Damian even tried to guilt-trip his father using a technique called “puppy dog eyes” courtesy from Dick. Nothing worked. Every lead crumbled like dust. The monks, if they ever existed, were impossible to trace.
The truth? The monks didn’t exist.
There had only ever been one monk.
And he was not a monk at all.
Years before the cowl, before Gotham knew the name Batman, Bruce had limped and escaped out of the League of Assassins with more bruises than bones and a fresh set of enemies. Refusing Ra’s al Ghul and his daughter had not gone over well. He’d wandered half-dead into the snowy wilds of the Himalayas, not sure where he was going, only that it needed to be far, far away.
Then darkness. Cold. Silence. A silhouette. And unconsciousness.
When Bruce woke, he was alive, bandaged, and lying on a bed of hay that smelled suspiciously like goat. A fire crackled nearby. His host was tall, silver-haired almost white, and moved like a shadow in silk robes. He claimed to be a monk. He never gave a name. He also radiated the kind of energy that made even Bruce’s paranoia sit up and go, “Hmm. That’s not normal.”
Bruce watched him from the sidelines. The man sparred with the air itself, performing forms Bruce had never seen before effortless, fluid, almost theatrical in how they ignored gravity. Despite claiming to seek peace, he kicked boulders in half during his morning stretches. Bruce knew what a formidable warrior looked like. This guy wasn’t just good. He was absurdly good.
Eventually, Bruce asked to be trained.
The monk agreed but with a devilish smirk that should have warned him.
It started with traditional exercises. Then came... less traditional ones. One day Bruce was balancing upside down on one finger. The next, he was chasing wild goats through the mountains with a blindfold on. There was a week he still refuses to talk about, involving fermented yak milk and interpretive dance. No explanation was ever given. Just a barked command, followed by a smirk, and Bruce reluctantly obeying because despite everything he was learning.
And the monk? He never moved when Bruce attacked. Not once. Bruce would lunge, strike, ambush, even beg the man to just flinch, and every time, the monk would remain motionless. The result was always the same with Bruce face-down in snow or mud, groaning, while the monk calmly re-wrapped his bandages and offered nothing but that smirk. That infuriating, soul-crushing smirk.
Name?
Bruce had asked and rasped, wheezing after yet another humiliating fall.
The monk merely chuckled and replied.
When you land a hit.
Bruce did not land a hit. Not that week. Not that month. Not ever.
And eventually, it was time to go. Bruce bowed, still never having won, still never knowing the monk’s name and returned to Gotham.
He never forgot the man.
….
What Bruce didn’t know was that his “monk” had a name, Dan.
Or, more accurately, Dan Fenton. Known in his own dimension for blowing up timelines, developing catastrophic anger issues, and eventually retiring from ghostly overlordship after a few centuries of introspection and really intense therapy. He took a page from Ellie and become a traveler, He’d been vacationing across dimensions, mostly avoiding interdimensional politics and his own mess of a reputation as well to avoid his younger self of a king when he stumbled on Bruce half-dead in the snow.
On a whim, maybe redemption, maybe boredom, maybe the sheer novelty of it, maybe his younger self and clone had finally rubbed of him, he saved him. And since he had time to kill, not that he would ever hurt Clockwork, he trained him.
Using ghost powers very subtle about it, just enough to freak Bruce out and maintain the illusion that he was a living, breathing über-warrior with mystical vibes and killer reflexes. The smirking was mostly for fun. The cryptic one-liners? Also fun. No wonder Clocky liked to say weird shit to his younger self.
What Dan didn’t expect was to actually like the guy. Sure, Bruce was intense, broody, and had the emotional range of a brick, but watching him faceplant into snow every morning had been surprisingly somewhat therapeutic. There was something calming about teaching someone who didn’t know who he was, who didn’t flinch at his name, or whisper “Phantom” like it was a curse. It helped Dan heal too, in his own weird way.
Years passed. Dimensions that he traveled and went. Dan forgot about it.
Then he remembered.
He missed his “student.”
He remembered Bruce mumbling something about Gotham in his sleep, something about a cave and a promise and since Dan had nothing better to do, well other than to laugh at his younger self for winning and taking the crown of the Infinite Realms, he decided to pay a visit.
On foot. Across dimensions. Because why not?
….
Meanwhile, in Gotham…
Bruce was panicking.
A letter had arrived. Just a simple, handwritten note. No return address. No explanation. But the handwriting sent a shiver down his spine.
I’ll be visiting soon. Hope you’ve gotten better.
Bruce dropped his coffee.
His children thought it was a threat. Jason offered to shoot whoever it was. Tim tried to trace the paper’s origin with four different forensic tools. Cass read the note and signed something to the others about posture and unresolved duty. Damian called it a threat that someone could rattle his father with one sentence.
But Bruce knew.
He was coming.
His old teacher.
The man who once made him wear a llama costume for a full week to “teach humility.”
He was coming to Gotham.
Bruce wasn’t sure whether to install extra security or book out every gym in the city to train. He hadn’t stopped pacing in two hours. Alfred found him shadowboxing in the Batcave while muttering things like, “I’ve got better reaction time now,” and “Surely… surely I can land one hit.”
Across the city, chaos was brewing, but not because of the letter.
Gotham’s entire vigilante network, Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, Spoiler, Orphan, Batgirl, even Signal were neck-deep in the investigation of the Joker’s sudden, mysterious death. Dead, now struggle no physical or chemical cause somehow. No evidence.
No struggle.
Just… gone. The only lead was a single blurry silhouette from a rooftop security cam. The figure was massive, hooded, and moved with a kind of fluid, terrifying grace none of them had ever seen before.
Nobody recognized him.
And Bruce hadn’t said a word, too busy to train or join Alfred in cleaning the manor.
While the rest of the Batfam poured over footage, mapped potential escape routes, and debated theories, Batman was notably absent, still in the Cave, still pacing, still trying to steady his breathing every time he glanced at the letter.
Because Bruce knew who it was. And for once in his life, Batman was torn between abject dread… and the tiniest, most humiliating spark of hope.
Maybe this time, I’ll land a hit.
Maybe I’ll finally learn his name.
Maybe I’ll even win.
…Or maybe he’d end up face-first in an alleyway again while his teacher laughed and handed him his own blend of yak milk smoothie.
Either way, Gotham was not ready.
And neither was Bruce.
…...
PS: If someone out there wants to continue or make a fic about this, you are free to do so, don’t forget to tag me, though.
PPS: I felt like posting a bit early. How was it?

Project X Master Post
===============================
Imagine Martyn curled up in the corner of his cell, covering his ears bc he doesn't know how to block things out and everything is so loud.
Imagine Scott transforming from an aquatic creature back to his regular form, but he still has gills, and he panics when he can't breathe.
Imagine Jimmy turning in invisible for the first time and not knowing how to turn back, and he thinks he's stuck that way forever.
Imagine Ren transforming the first few times, but there's always something off about him. He looks eerie, like something from uncanny valley.
Imagine Scar not knowing his own strength and jokingly punching Mumbo, only to send him flying into the wall and causing his death.
Imagine Cleo trying so hard to get Mumbo and Skizz to act the way that they used to when she summons them, but it's never truly them. Something is always wrong.
Imagine BigB being terrified when he summons the creaking for the first time, not realizing they're on his side and thinking they'll attack him.
Imagine Gem astral projecting as an escapism, talking to Mumbo and Skizz and "leaving" the facility, but she can't truly leave.
Imagine Impulse and Tango nearly getting to escape with their powers, their friends cheering them on from inside their cells, and just when they're in the clear, Impulse gets tranquilized and falls unconscious. Tango can't bare to leave his buddy behind. They both get collars that block their abilities and heavy monitoring after that stunt.
Lizzie feels bad about her power. She's tried to escape as well, but when she realized the blindness affected her friends, it freaked her out so much that security was able to catch up to her and take her back to her cell.
Imagine Bdubs sleeping diligently through every night and dealing with nightmares of the hell they've all been put through so his friends don't.
Imagine Pearl wishing she could fly out in the open air, desperate for that kind of freedom that she knows she will never have.
Imagine Etho trying to bring down his mace to pretend to hit Bdubs, and when he move to the side to dodge, it actually puts him in the way of Etho's strike. The absolute terror that fills Etho is so bad that he never jokes like that again, even if it barely hurt him.
Imagine Joel looking around and analyzing the rooms, thinking of how he could scale the walls with his ability to escape through an air vent, but he can never bring himself to do it because he refuses to leave Lizzie.
Imagine Grian being physically and emotionally strained trying to learn everyone's powers and how to properly use them, wishing he just had one of his own instead.
Imagine Skizz and Mumbo both dying (Skizz due to the intense tests and Mumbo due to the effects the testing had on Scar) before they had a chance to gain powers of their own. Don't imagine those powers being just what the group needs to escape.
===============================
I think I might write each of these as a one shot. That would certainly be a LOT of fun :) lmk what you guys think please!

Superpowers: a recap
You know, I often tend to skip superpowers under the rug when I write my snippets- which is kind of a problem in a Hero/Villain setting.

GENERAL QUESTIONS
Is the character okay with their power ?
they hate it it’s a curse to them
they wish it were different (stronger, another power altogether, etc)
they don’t mind
they really enjoy it
it’s their whole identity
Etc.
If they hate it, is it because:
it hurts
it could hurt someone/something else
it’s useless/ it’s not offensive
it goes against their personality
people hate it too
it makes people treating them as a tool
Can they control it?
they’re a walking disaster
using it makes them sick
perfect control, natural or learned
they don’t even need to think about it
etc
How powerful it is?
(Ex control of fire: can barely light a match versus can set in fire the whole country)
Characters with weak powers my beloveds. It's about them fighting when they know they will lose, putting everything they have in the fight, keeping their head high when people sneer at them. It's about them enjoying their power without having it to be useful, or forcing them to be creative and smart about/around it.
Overpowered characters my beloveds. It's not about them winning the fight because the answer is obvious, it's about them dealing with too much power in a fragile world, the gap between them and the others, how it impacts their relationships, their morality - never hesitate to make a character like this. It can be terrifying, it can be hilarious, it can be great. No trope is bad, it all depends on how it's used.
What is the source of their power ?
failed experiment?
successful experiment?
got them from a supernatural being?
got them from their family?
got them from a magical object?
When did they get it ?
when born?
during childhood ? Teen years ?
grown-up ?
Was it expected or not?
Is getting this power a one time thing or do they need to renew it ?
(via sacrifice, offering, a special food/medicine, a good/bad deed, etc)
Can they give it to someone else?
Can it go away/fade?
Does it grow stronger/weaker with age?
Is it affected by the health of the character ?
(Is the power weaker when the character is sick, or is it stronger as a defense measure ? Does it become unpredictable?)
Does it hurt using it/not using it?
(Because it takes too much on the body/because it forces to repress an important part of the self)
Does the power change their personality in a good/bad way?
(Does it corrupt them, does it force them to see the world in a new light, etc)
Can their power combine with someone else’s ?
Do they have a weakness/something that cancels their abilities?
Do they have special needs because of it ?
(Do they need glasses, headphones, medicine, a special diet, etc)
Are they immune to their own power or do they take damage ?
(Ex : is your character able to control fire is fireproof or not?)
How much do they rely on it?
they use them for everything
they use them often
they could do without
it’s barely an afterthought to them
they never use it
etc
How do they use it ?
Raising their hand
With their eyes
With some object
They don’t have to do anything
Etc
How does this power is perceived by the others?
This makes them a god
This makes them a star
This makes them totally mundane
This makes them look really stupid
This makes them a nuisance
This makes them someone to be killed at all costs
Etc.
About the suit
Is that for protection ?
Is it an uniform ?
Is it here for the vibe ?
Does it strengthen their abilities?
Does it have gadgets ?
How (im)practical is it ?

Inspired by this because I thought that an otherworldly entity speaking obscenities through a child be FUNNY.
When Danny defeated Pirah Dark, he didn't become Ghost King, nor the Prince, instead.
He got another passenger in his head.
It's like, Pirah Dark is somehow astral projecting his thoughts to Danny, and Danny doesn't know why. He does not need the commentary of an eons old Ghost King stuck in his head thank you very much.
Then it got even worse when said Ghost King managed to astral project a small piece of himself that just, hangs around Danny 24/7.
Which nobody but him could see.
How the hell did he even manage that when he's a damn ghost for ancient's sake, he didn't know.
He' just gotten used to him, at this point.
One thing he's learned about Pirah Dark, however, is that said ghost has an extreme competitive streak.
Most of his newfound obscene vocabulary came from him. Not that he could use said vocabulary, mind you, because his mother would have his head in that case.
But still.
The number of games Pirah took over from him and progressed fast through was... both inspiring and somewhat insulting.
But anyways.
Until he got summoned by cultists, because apparently having a small piece of the Ghost King floating around him 24/7 is enough for him to get summoned in his place, and Pirah's eyes landed on one guy in a coat.
Well.
He didn't even know like 90% of the words he used could be profanity.
Then he expected him to say all of that to some guy he doesn't even know. He sweat dropped, because, while physically he could say all of those words, his mother has a sixth sense when it comes to such things.
Curse a guy out word for word by a Ghost King and face his mother's wrath for saying such words, or decidedly don't do that and not face his mother's wrath?
He'll take the second option, thank you.

why you’re wrong about quitting shifting
so, you’re ready to give up on reality shifting? let me get this straight—you’re throwing in the towel because it’s “too hard” or because you haven’t succeeded yet? honestly, that’s not a reflection of the practice; it’s a reflection of your mindset. i’m not here to sugarcoat it for you. this whole “i can’t shift” narrative is not only false—it’s lazy. let’s dismantle this flawed thinking piece by piece.
1. “i can’t shift.” wrong. you haven’t shifted yet. stop acting like you’re hardwired to fail because you’re not. stop convincing yourself that it’s impossible when it’s more likely you just haven’t given it the time and effort it deserves. imagine trying to start a fire with two sticks. most people wouldn’t get a spark on the first try. does that mean fire is a myth or that they’re incapable? no—it means they need better technique, more patience, and consistent effort. shifting is your fire. just because you haven’t seen the flames yet doesn’t mean they’re not coming. every moment you’ve spent trying has been building heat; quitting now ensures you’ll never see the light.
2. your impatience is not proof of impossibility. let’s be real: you’re expecting results on your timeline, and when it doesn’t happen, you declare shifting a failure. that’s not logic—that’s entitlement. imagine planting a tree and stomping on the roots because it didn’t grow tall overnight. that’s essentially what you’re doing. you have no idea how close you might be to success because you’re too focused on the absence of instant gratification.
3. you’re underestimating your brain. your mind is adaptable, but it needs consistency to form new pathways. reality shifting involves rewiring your entire perception of existence—it’s not something you’ll master just by wishing for it. the tools—meditation, affirmations, visualization—aren’t magic tricks; they’re exercises for your subconscious. if you quit now, you’re not only rejecting shifting but also your brain’s potential to grow.
4. your perspective on “failure” is flawed. let’s get one thing straight: failure isn’t the lack of success; it’s the decision to stop trying. every attempt you’ve made so far has laid the groundwork for future breakthroughs. you think those hours scripting or visualizing are wasted? they’re not. every time you try, you’re training your mind to align with your desired reality. quitting means throwing all that progress away.
5. you’re putting shifting on a pedestal. you’re treating it like some mystical, unattainable miracle instead of what it really is: a practice. people have been shifting, lucid dreaming, astral projecting, and training their minds for centuries. the only difference is that they stuck with it. if they can do it, why not you? what makes you the exception? the truth is, you’re not.
here’s the thing: the act of giving up is far more definitive than the idea that you “can’t shift.” quitting guarantees failure, while continuing guarantees possibility. do you really want to shut the door on that possibility just because it didn’t happen on your schedule?
the bottom line is this: shifting is as much about discipline as it is about desire. your current mindset isn’t just dismissing the practice; it’s dismissing your own potential. so, stop wallowing in disappointment and start recognizing that you’re not stuck—you’re learning. if you can’t handle that reality, then maybe shifting isn’t the problem.

a small articl based on Bob Monroes recordings
The Gateway Tapes: a series of audio recordings designed to guide listeners into altered states of consciousness using Hemi-Sync techniques1. These techniques involve the use of binaural beats and other sound patterns to induce relaxation and a trance-like state, often referred to as the "Gateway Experience". The series is organized into "Waves," each containing six guided exercises, and is designed to be used sequentially, building on the skills learned in previous "Waves"
1 a method that uses binaural beats and other auditory stimuli to promote synchronized brainwave activity between the two hemispheres of the brain
Boiling Down the Monroe Method to the Absolute Basic Essentials BlinkyRunt (r/gatewaytapes)
Here is my go at simplifying Monroes's method, and many others I have tried including many meditative practices, to the absolute most basic actions. This approach has helped me not only remove all non-essential activities, but also come up with various replacements. Once you see the approach as a bunch of simple steps, you can then easily construct new methods for each singular part of the process.
0. create a strong intent with a strong emotion behind it. charge it for some time. This is needed for step 4.
1. Silence the body: relax muscle groups from toes to skull, relax breathing -> F10
2. Silence the senses: concentrate only on one sense (breathing, light behind eyelids, etc. only one), now let go of that one sense -> F12
3. Silence the brain: throw away fears, throw away expectations, stop analysis = become observer -> you end up in F15. You are pure concioussness in the void. F15 is the doorway to the beyond.
4. Remain in this state, let your intention, or higher self, or guides, or even Robert's voice guide you beyond and into other "places".
Please let me know if you can break down the process even more. Would love to have some input and healthy discussion.
A Guide on How To Enter The Void State linglingvasprecious (r/shiftingrealities)
Hi everyone, here's a guide to enter the void state. I found (the guide above) on the Monroe Method and decided to expand upon it to better suit shifting. Please note that this guide uses terminology from The Gateway Tapes. If you're unfamiliar with what that is, please use the search function on this sub or Google it.
Subliminals aren't needed but I've had great success using Astral Projection binaural beats.
0. Find a comfortable spot to rest. You should ideally be on your back as to not fall asleep too quickly. Set your intention before you begin. This can be as simple as "I intend to enter the void state". Really lock this intention in and take a moment to breathe deeply and acknowledge this intention.
1. Silence the body. We want to be in the state of "mind awake, body asleep". Relax your muscles from your head to your toes and spend as much time as you need relaxing each muscle group. Relax your breathing. By now you should be in Focus 10.
2. Silence your senses. Concentrate on only one sense. This can be your breathing or the light behind your eyes). Let go of that one sense. You should now be in Focus 12.
3. Silence the brain. Stop analyzing your thoughts and let go of any fears and expectations that you may have. Your goal here is to become the observer. You should now be in Focus 15. You are pure consciousness in the void. Focus 15 is the doorway to the beyond. Once you find yourself in the void, revisit your intention and change it to whatever you like, such as "I intend to shift to my desired reality".
4. Remain in this state. Let your intention, higher self, or guides take you beyond to other places.
That's pretty much it! Don't stress too much and focus on relaxation and breathing deeply. With practice you should enter the void state! Have fun!

i keep on laying down, and deciding that i’m going to shift no matter what. and i keep on persisting that im feeling the grass in my wr (waiting room) and i feel what i would be in my wr, and i keep persisting that im there, im in my dr, so why isn’t the 3D catching up if i’ve already decided freya?
Tumblr media
𝓦hy are you noticing and analyzing the 3D so much and if it is catching up or not? 𝓨ou know why?
𝓑ecause your awareness is in the methods. not the actual dr. 𝓰irl, persist what?? 𝓓ecide what?? 𝓨ou don't persist that you feel nothing and that you're sleeping to BE asleep right? 𝓝o. 𝓨ou just zone out and let it happen or something, pretend that you're ALREADY asleep to fall into sleep.
𝓨ou induce things without a method all the time, 𝔂ou can sleep and have a dream no matter how weak or how lucid and those things are already equal to how you can induce shifting, anything OBE, lucid dreaming and the void state.
𝓑ut have they ever required persistence or a method? 𝓓o you need that much complication to sleep or take a nap? 𝓷o, so why would it be so for other things like shifting?.. 𝓛et it go. 𝓜editate. 𝓟lease induce shifting like how you'd meditate, then it would be simple. 𝓖o learn from people who vividly meditate on reddit. 𝓜onks. 𝓘dk, what does your intuition say!? 𝓐ren't you supposed to know that it's easy?
𝓑ut srsly why is everything just more complicated when you're reality shifting? 𝓲t isn't as different as lucid dreaming or astral projecting, in fact you use up the same methods to shift as well as you would with lucid dreaming or anything OBE. 𝓼o it's the intention. 𝓫ut not the method in general.

𐔌 .🪽 ⋮ things that make me excited in my home reality/waiting room !!
I felt hella mad because this fuckass reality is pissing me the fuck off so here is a little post that helps motivate me! …. honestly just me yapping about specifically stuff I love in waiting room
Having all the time in the world
having all the time to sleep, work on my scripts, or do whatever is the dream. Since it’s a “timeless” and eternal dimension where you can just be at peace, I can do anything without any stress of a deadline! I can learn new skills, even ones that take years or even a lifetime to learn!
Playing Roblox/minecraft and actually having fun
I want to play not only Roblox and Minecraft but just overall video games and genuinely have fun. (This is mainly targeted towards Roblox because it’s just isn’t the same no more. ) royale high, natural disasters, and feel the facility gonna be peak in my waiting room.
Eating and drinking whatever and whenever I want
Just the thought of having pretty much an infinite buffet of all you can eat and at any time. You wake up in the morning and you craving some hot dogs or noodles, you can quickly get some from the fridge or better yet summon it! I’m gonna be drinking a lot of strawberry lemonade and cherry sodas 😭✌️
Learning how to crochet and knitting
I ALWAYS wanted to learn how to crochet and knit so I can make the cutest of items and clothes! It’s looks so fun and relaxing and just an overall great hobby to have. Plus imagine crocheting plushies or sweaters, especially for your lover and watching some slice of life animes or films! That’ll be so peaceful and healing for me.
Finally starting to do tarot and channeling
when I was a “baby shifter” and finally getting used to the shifting community, I always wanted to learn channeling and divination. I thought it would be cool and fun, especially contacting people from my drs. I want to be that cool and mysterious divinator who seems to have all the answers of universe (and in technicality, pretty much does)
Catch up on bleach, one piece, and Naruto
there is SOO MANY animes and mangas that I need to catch up on, especially older ones. Plus, watching medias, especially in the environment of my home reality— it’s honestly just a huge vibe.
Read way more Shojo / josei manga
i do read a lot of shojosei mangas but not a lot compared to shonen ones. I wanna change that and have equal amount of shojo, josei, shonen, and seinen mangas and animes that I’ve watched or read.
Astral projection with my lover
astral projection honestly looks so fun (especially when you know what to do and how to protect yourself). Since my lover is an absolute natural in astral projection, having him show me the ways on how to do it and go on little adventures in astral plane seems so awesome.
Rewatching childhood shows
this is mainly Winx club, miraculous ladybug, and Pokémon that I’m referring too (but specifically Winx club cause that show has a special place in my heart). I would love to watch it again and experience nostalgia, especially in the comforts of my waiting room.
Painting Toru’s nails for fun (+ self care in general )
honestly doing self care with each other like washing each other’s hair, painting each other’s nails, wearing face masks gossiping (which is just us making jokes and shit talking ) stuff that happen either our drs or the astral realm, and much more.
Read / watch way more Chinese dramas and books
Chinese dramas, especially set into the traditional and ancient fantasies be so fucking wild and crazy. Like the suspense and pure chaos in those shows / films be so addictive that you can’t help but watch. Every evening in my home reality, it’s just gonna be chaotic and entertaining Chinese dramas from 6 pm to 11 pm.
Exploring my waiting room
even though the main part of my waiting room is just my floating house, there is a “world” outside of it, a worlds of many forms and mystery. Hell even my house be hella big and has many secrets. I like to call my house in a way labyrinth as they are many stuff that consists of my waiting room. The concept of Infinity has a huge part in my waiting room from not only just time but possibilities and creation, so there is something new everyday! Especially when exploring and having fun.
backshots 😈🙏
you know what I mean here so let’s not get into 💀
the beautiful view(s) I have in my house
I have this big as balcony that has the view of the outside world and skies and it’s one of the most beautiful things you can look at. Even the images in my imagination is nothing compared to the real deal. It’s most ethereal during the mourning and evenings.

advice for magis + those thinking abt becoming one !! (。˃ ᵕ ˂ )♡
pmmm concept , since that's my concept , but any1 can use this advice !
Tumblr media
if you're thinking about becoming a magi , PLEASE PLEASE become friends w experience magis . you'll need help and guidance for your first witch fight .
if you're thinking about becoming a magi , learn how to astral project first !! wait until you can stay grounded in the astral realm to become a magi , as you'll need to be able to astral project to fight witches for most magi !
if you're thinking about becoming a magi , think about your wish first ! plan it out !! and , make sure you have enough potential to have your wish !! you can use a pendulum to ask kyubey if you have enough potential for 『 insert wish here 』 before you actually make your wish !!
if you're thinking about becoming a magi , plan your outfit last !! the outfit is the least important part ! you should think about your wish first , then plan your weapons + their abilities ! only choose an outfit LAST ( and make sure it's comfortable , non constructing , and non obstructing of your ability to fight , run , use weapons , ect )
if you're thinking about becoming a magi , remember that you can't go back . you'll be a magi forever . we'll welcome you with open arms , but you wont be able to go back to normal . you'll need to hunt witches forevermore to keep your soul gem bright ( i've heard that if you dont cleanse your soul gem , your astral self turns into a witch and your body self has a mental breakdown , for how long or if it will ever even end is unknown to me )
if you're already a magi , reach out to newer magis + those thinking about becoming a magi ! offer support and help them on some of their first hunts so they don't get hurt and can learn the ropes !
if you're already a magi , try and stock up on grief seeds . you'll need them eventually . maybe a friend will need one , or maybe a newer magi you're helping will need one mid - battle . maybe you'll want to go on a break , and you'll need a supply to keep your soul gem bright .
if you're already a magi , make sure to take time for yourself ! schedule a day off of your duties so you don't overwork yourself ! overworking yourself can dull your soul gem faster , anyway ! make sure you take the time to relax , recover from any injuries , ect !
if you're already a magi , and you have healing powers , analyze your injuries first ! if it's something like a small scrape , let it heal on it's own , save your magic ! if it's something more serous , then use your magic ! there's nothing worse than wasting magic when you don't need to , or not using magic when you need to . make sure you know your personal limit to what you should let heal on it's own , vs what you should heal with magic !
if you're already a magi , stay safe out there . some magical girls and magical girl groups will randomly attack other magical girls for who knows why . make sure you never travel alone unless you're able to defend yourself from multiple attackers at once .

genuine question, with ur Sage of Truth x reader series, how do u come up with the stuff about magic study
..ok im bad at explaining but like u know the like magic terminology, the formulas, stuff like that relating to the magic stuff the reader is studying. Is coming up for that stuff hard? Did u base it off other stuff? I just think it's really impressive
Also, another mini question, how do you go about writing the Sage of Truth? His character is very interesting, and the way he speaks is very poetic and wise and stuff. It must be really interesting to write.
But yeah. Loved ur part 4 for the series i get go giddy and happy when I read every new part cause it's just so goodd!!
Hope ur doing well mootie and getting good sleep 💞
This post is going to be a little messy because I'm just going to word dump rq since I don't know how to explain it without rambling on so my apologies mootie <3
Okay so a majority of this is based off of chemical reactions I replace everything with magical words! like balancing magic is based on like the stabilization of chemical reactions and some of it based off of Grignard's reagents reactions how things need to be completely dry (in our case our will cause it's magic) or it's highly reactive and violent. Some things are philosophical and yes, it's actually a lot harder than it sounds because even I don't have a full grasp on everything I speak on, but since it's magical it gives me more creative freedom to make it seem like something else... I don't know if it makes sense but for example, the reason the professor says it's a philosophical approach is because I based it off of a philosophical thing I learned about reason, it basically states that reason alone can't make you do things and that only another emotion can overrule another and that reason doesn't know about emotions. So in this case reason would be magic, but the philosophical question is, "Can you make a choice based off of reason alone?" Of course I think not which is why I think it's only natural that in order to have strong magic you need to be mentally and emotionally strong in our case have strong will. But something that helps me is like brainstorming reactions beforehand, like I couldn't pinpoint exactly what I'm deriving from because I write them down as I get into this sort of flow state. But it's just based off of my knowledge of general+organic chemistry. Which is why if you go back a lot of it is about reactions. And alchemy and astronomy but those are my biggest influences.
This may be a very disappointing answer guys but it's hard for me to answer because it's not like I come with it on the spot it takes me like a while...it's not so much the writing part because I'm a pretty fast typer (I think) my wpm is 77 so it's not super slow but not super fast but that's around 4k words per hour (assuming no distractions) and my fics for this are like 4-7k words so the writing part itself is not the time-consuming part it's thinking about how I might apply chemistry.
Coming up with magic terminology, formulas, and theories is one of my favorite parts of worldbuilding. It can be tricky, but it's super fun once I get into a flow. I usually base it on a mix of real-world concepts (like alchemy, astronomy, linguistics, and physics) and existing fantasy magic systems, but then I tweak it to fit the vibe of Blueberry Yogurt Academy. For example, if I were to create a spell for, say, astral projection, I'd probably think about how ancient scholars might have viewed the soul leaving the body. I might mix in terms from dream theory, old star charts, or even quantum entanglement to make it feel like something a scholar at the Academy would study. But again a lot of it is made up so any magic or anything that coincides with "real" magic is purely coincidental. I really just try and mix words that fit together of course I do have to do my own research and stuff but most of it is just made up magical things based on things I've learned things about.
As I'm writing this I remember I wrote something it's when I was brainstorming on my google doc which I'll just paste here I think it's a lot more clear sort of? But basically this is sort of the bare bones of it and then as I'm writing I embellish to make it legit of course I do have to go on wikipedia to search for "magical terms"
Theoretical Magic & The Law of Truth
Magic in this setting is deeply tied to knowledge, logic, and perception it requires both understanding and precise execution.
The Law of Truth will be a governing principle, suggesting that magic operates based on absolute truths rather than subjective beliefs. If something is factually incorrect, the spell structure collapses.
This makes magic an academic pursuit, requiring scholars to study universal truths, paradoxes, and logical structures to correctly wield it.
The Structure of Spells
Magic isn’t just about reciting incantations it follows a formulaic, almost mathematical structure.
Spells are constructed like arguments or equations, with components that must be balanced:
Premise (Concept/Intent): The foundation of the spell; must be logically sound.
Catalyst (Energy/Source): What fuels the spell, possibly drawn from the caster’s understanding or external forces.
Expression (Manifestation): The way the spell takes form, shaped by the precision of the caster’s execution.
This is why (y/N) will struggle they might understand the premise but fail at the execution, or vice versa.
The Use of Glyphs & Magical Notation
Spells can be written using glyphs, sigils, or a special notation system that encodes magical principles.
It’s possible that magic is recorded in a language that must be understood logically rather than memorized, making it extra difficult for beginners.
The reader has difficulty with this aspect, which is why they might struggle with practical application.
The Sage of Truth’s Role & Perspective
The Sage is a master of this magic system, likely because they grasp universal truths without bias. Their magic is precise because their understanding is flawless.
They probably teach by guiding the mc to see things objectively, rather than just drilling formulas into their head.
The Reader’s Weakness & Potential Strength
At the beginning, they struggle because they approach magic like a school subject rather than a fundamental truth of existence.
However, their struggle will make it known that they have the capacity for deep insight; they just need to learn how to see rather than just study.
There’s potential for them to develop a unique style of magic later, possibly blending intuition with logic.
And now for my favorite part the sage of truth, so I looked at all of his voice lines thanks to the wiki <3 and I based it off of that and I tried to come up with a persona I think he would embody. He is very different from Shadow Milk Cookie which is super apparent in the KR dub because his voice is so much gentler and kinder and his whole persona to me says he is a kind studious person who wants to see people succeed. He wants to spread knowledge and to me, that seems really philosophical and something I've noticed from philosophical scholars is how poetic they are in how they speak. One of my favorite philosophers even before learning about him in the academic sense is Bentham the way he words things is so interesting to me however I do think it is morbid he wanted his body to be preserved in the classroom because he thought it would bring his students motivation. But I digress.
He doesn't waste words because everything he says has purpose and truth woven into it. It's why when the reader pries into hearing more about him it sort of throws him off a little bit. His speech is more "elongated" slower? because he doesn't rush as I think he believes that truth doesn't falter or hurry and example of something I would write for a different character vs him would be like.
Instead of saying "You're struggling because you don't understand the fundamentals," he’d say: "You attempt to sculpt from air and wonder why the form does not hold. Foundation must precede creation, lest you craft only illusions."
The only reason I can do this somewhat is because I used to love writing poems...I have a lot of bad poems though...
But to me it seems that he perceives truth in all of things which makes him really eerily perceptive, and since he has a lot of experience under his belt (he is a renowned scholar) he can see the mc struggle before they voice them but it's also partially because the mc gives it away with their facial expressions which often time are more telling than anything they say. He also guides rather than command pushing the reader to understand instead of handing solutions he nudges them towards revelations. I think he also plays into his persona a bit where he doesn't mix emotions and studies perhaps with his most dearest friends right? but not with someone he's supposed to be guiding I won't say more on this as I have a lot of ideas for how I will develop their relationship. He also isn't cruel and understands frustration is an essential and fundamental part of learning.
But the thing is he does see potential in you as the reader... Hopefully this answers your question...
As you can see I put a LOT of thought into this fanfic and into this response but ever since I made that poll I had an inkling about who was going to win based off of the first day so that's when I began brainstorming.
This is sort of the process for all of this however I just want to note that it is difficult and sometimes I just rely on my own intuition even if it's wrong and then i go back and read if it's really bothering me I just change the whole paragraph and scrap the previous writing I think that's the beauty of writing being able to revise and allowing yourself to part from previous work. however, if I really like it I'll just keep it somewhere to the side.
