After Doctor Brown created a blackout in his present, he decided to take a family vacation in the past. The choice of 1371 AD turned out to be a bad choice as he, his wife Clara, and their children ended up thrown in a dungeon. His only hope for him and his family was to defeat Lord Biffingham in a joust. (“A Family Vacation” Back to the Future, TV)

Found out that one of our printers can print a lenticular lens, you just need to set the file up with the two images and then the printer prints it. So naturally I had to do Luffy's first bounty and his latest one. I was not disappointed!

The concept of Captain America's backstory of waking up from cryostasis only gets funnier the longer he exists.
At first it was only 10 years after WW2. Our modern interpretation with Chris Evans has him wake up almost 70 years later. If Marvel keeps going you'll have a 20th century soldier with no concept of AI or the internet wake up in Circa, 2242 fighting cyborgs in a dystopian world with nothing but his shield.

Hi, yes, more self promotion. I would LOVE at least some hearts or reblogs, because I understand it's a difficult time of year and you might wanna support a small artist but just can't afford to buy anything. Been there, done that plenty of times

Just remembered something that baffles me about secular media. They insist on framing spiritual warfare (and specifically exorcisms) as something that’s like…. “old church”, something that “oh well we used to do that, but not anymore, that would be silly to do that now in our ✨enlightened age✨”.
I’ve seen it in Criminal Minds and in Supernatural and I think in Lucifer as well?
And it’s just such a confusing choice??? Like, where did these people get this idea???? Why is it so wide-spread??????
Every diocese that’s big enough to support them has an exorcist. We’re not told who that exorcist is, but we have one.
One of my religion professors shared a story with us from a few years ago when he had traveling exorcist visit his class! The guy was based at the Vatican iirc and traveled around as needed. He was on sabbatical for a break.
I get that part of it is ease of plot and getting side characters out of the way do the MCs can do their thing, but even then I do not fully understand it because the truth is so much more interesting!!! You’re telling me you’d rather have Dean and Sam be shut down by a skeptical old priest who insists they don’t “do that anymore” when a real priest would be like “don’t do anything until I call up the exorcist and get a proper investigation going”?????? Now that’s new. That’s interesting and a new kind of challenge they haven’t faced before.
And I can’t help but think that part of it is because our belief in the spiritual and spiritual warfare makes people uncomfortable. It’s all hunky-dory as long as they can dismiss us as being “those Jesus people who have too many rules”, but the second we start showing a true belief in the supernatural, a supernatural that can and will TANGIBLY affect us, they lose their nerve and start watering it down.
I’m reminded of an episode of Buzzfeed: Unsolved where Ryan and Shane went to a Catholic priest before going to their one demon location a season. It was obviously for a joke, but the priest took it dead seriously, and I think it really threw the guys off. It was very entertaining, and a much more realistic example of what would happen irl.

How do you store so much knowledge OwO?
Do you have a good memory or take notes UwU?
Hi!!!
LMAO Thanks for the compliment.
I store them inside my brain.
For certain things I try to design stuff. But I usually never go back to it.
Sometimes I wish I would take notes. But I think I have a good memory when it comes to my nerdstuff at least.
Today I wasnted to get me some apple juice from the basement. When I was finally in the basement...i could no loner recall why I was there... so I went back... remembered...and went back down - forgot again. I am not kidding....sadly...

impressive, IMO, that you have reinvented late 20th century "D&D is a Satanic cult that seeks to deceive people into confusing fantasy and reality so that they'll waste their lives trying to invoke demons to hurt each other, and perhaps all other nerdstuff is the same" sentiment from a radically secularist perspective
evangelicals were particularly hep to and paranoid about movements downstream of thelema because thelema was a movement downstream of evangelicalism -- thelema is a sort of explicitly self-worshipping form kind of evangelical christianity
there are lots of evangelical churches and prayer-groups that are also self-worshipping (and therefore "Satanic" -- Crowley just made it explicit, and various other new age groups applied the same model of making egoistic forms of different kinds of Christianity. "Satanism" is a common name for some but not all of these, and the idea of a Satanic element is obvious.
The encounter between Christian Evangelicalism and egoistic Evangelicalism has left a mark on the discourse, so that as a matter of shorthand even non-Evangelical normies speak of "Satanist cults". Many of the egoistic Evangelicals were very stimulated by this which is why you see so many of them with gimmicks about being the only Trve Satanists and so on.
Personally I think "New Age" is best because obviously calling egoism "Satanic" is a loaded designation and despite what some Crowleyites will tell you, not everything comes from the witch's-nipple of Crowley. It's not even the case that all New Age people are ex-Evangelicals, or even ex-Christians.
As for the actual observation, as far as I am concerned, it's a matter of empirical fact that fandom -- like Christian Evangelicalism and the New Age, which are groups that have a large overlap -- contains many people who confuse fantasy and reality, and also people who invoke demons who try to hurt one another. If you translate this statement out of Christian Evangelical using the dictionary I provide above, It's not that "D+D is a Satanic cult that tries to deceive etc..." it's just that people thinking magickally is a fact, and vital spiritual currents (like the New Age) and pop culture (like fandom, including D+D) are the mediums for people to do it in.
I happen to disapprove of the magickal mindset, think it is nonsense, a means by which a lot of people are fleeced of money that would be better in their own hands rather than some confidence-tricking wizard, that especially bad things happen when magick is a political force, that we are living in an age when too much credulousness is cultivated, and we could do with less of it.
