wip weds...my friend and i are doing pod-together (idk if you have heard of it, it's a challenge where one person writes a fic specifically for another person [or group of people] to podfic! [that's a loose summary, there are a lot of variations within the challenge for collaborations]) and our fic/podfic is about the devs! there's a romance novel series called the bromance book club where the premise is basically that a bunch of men get together and read a romance novel to help them resolve their relationship problems. i only read the first book in the series, but my friend and i decided to apply that general concept to the devs for the collaboration. dougie hamilton assigns books to various devs to help them through their relationship problems! ngl i'm slightly scared of the devs fandom because the skill level is so high for the rpf creators, but that did not stop us from committing 36k to some unhinged soft content (and some untold amount of recording hours, which will for sure be banger bc my collaborator is an awesome podficcer!). that's the wip that has consumed me for a solid month haha

podtogether my absolute beloved!!! really love when podficcers get a chance to shine tbh and so many great fics and podfics have come out of it historically, tbh, i'm a big fan

oh that concept is SUCH a vibe, i feel like it fits the devs super well too, esp when the ship potential within the time is pretty much endless, tbh. also dougie giving out books to read....so true

Yes YES OH man Shang Qinghua definitely has no filter when complaining about stuff, Poor Mobei he's learning so many awful things about humans and how MUCH DANGER THEYRE IN (how much danger his favorite human is in)

He tries to learn more about what can happen to his poor human so he's spying on Shen Qingqiu and Shang Qinghuas meetings only to hear them BOTH dramatically explain how tired they are, Shen Qingqiu with some peak lord duties juggled with Binghe and Shang Qinghua with just the amount of paper work and how they both won't make it if things don't slow down soon which prompts Mobei to immediately tell Luo Binghe that his consort is going to DIE if he doesn't get rest immediately this second

I can see this getting SO out of hand so fast, He'd bury Shang Qinghua in blankets and hold him tight so absolutely nothing can bother him and he'd be safe

I mean sure, he's the most dramatic and the most outspoken about sex, and he gave us Mummy Dust which is its own discussion-- but I sincerely don't see him, in his private life, being so promiscuous. Like out of all of them, I'm the most certain Terzo would be either monogamous or have a few regular partners at most, but I don't think he'd be big on casual flings. Frankly I don't even see him having sex that much at this point, he seems more attached to it as a concept than an actual activity he regularly engages in.

You know who's the inverse of that, though? The one Tobias himself calls a pervert? Secondo. There's your whore. I know he looks big and mean and authoritary but let's be honest, half of Infestissumam is about ritual sex and he's out in Vegas on the regular with more women than he can reliably satisfy. i gotta talk about my low empathy james fitzjames headcanon actually. i prommy i don't use it to excuse any of the acts of violence he committed against his fellow man (not just the colonialism either, but things like the petty rivalry with crozier that borders on bullying prior to the death of franklin) because as a low empathy person i know that's not how it works. but i do think that viewing his actions through a lens of understanding that both circumstances such as his birth and being a part of the british empire as well several choices he's made in life (particularly his sycophantic attitude towards those in positions of greater authority whose favour can work in his and his participation in active combat) have led him to become broadly alienated from other people and both their and his own emotions makes them more interesting.
