Faith is a dangerous line of work for beings of rationality. Why did they give us the sentience to comprehend it?
The iterators belonging to Solstice are always in constant exposure to paramount religious practices. If they are not strong willed it is easy to slip beneath the cracks and drown in the delusion. It is a miracle Omni hasn't gone under themselves.

Drabble 27/366 - Supernatural
Millie doesn't have much. She packs away souvenirs, feels guilty-sick, takes them out, feels ungrateful, puts them back.
"Going somewhere?" She doesn't jump, though he wasn't there seconds before.
"Home."
"No, you're not." She can hear him smiling.
"My brother's alive. I'm going home," she snaps.
She's holding a snowglobe with a tiny dancer trapped inside among the flakes.
"No," the Trickster says, "you're not." He's still smiling, and she's a hundred thousand miles from where she should have been waiting for this miracle.
"Like you could keep me here," said lightly.
"I could," he responds as easily.
She shivers.

Echoes of Oblivion
[ Previous Entry ] ♦ [ Read @ AO3 ] ♦ [ Chapters Index ]
Hello, this is just me re-writing Echoes to fit my OC's narrative. It's a bit long. Tried trimming what I could. Thank you to @swtorramblings & @scribblesonthewall for helping!
The preparation was prompt but swift. Lana stayed behind to continue running the base, wishing the Force's omnipotence upon the twin. However, they were met with Theron and Senya; the latter was having a tense discussion with her son.
"Yes, but there might be a chance something can go wrong. I'm doing this so you can continue being the father you want to be to your daughters."
"But you-"
"They will decide."
Senya presented her case to the twins, stating that she felt responsible for her part in Valkorion's schemes. It wasn't the strongest of reasoning, but surprisingly Rionnic granted her request. His attention was then diverted by his wife calling out to him, excusing himself. As Riornivo's gaze landed on Theron, both men knew it was going to be the same question as Senya's.
".... She's my mother. It would kill me to know that I didn't try when I had the chance."
The former SIS agent didn't need to strengthen his case, but his final point deeply resonated with Riornivo. Flashes of the failure with his own mother appeared, but he shook his head to repel that trauma. All three of the people talking to him moved to help as he took a step back, but he reassured them of his condition. The Jedi reluctantly agreed with the agent's request.
"You need to take care of our son... Do you still believe in me?" as Rionnic grasped Jaesa's hand, having had to refuse her pitch of coming along. It was the same question he uttered at the beginning of their relationship, and she decided to give the same response all those years ago: a melancholic kiss.
When Kira stepped out of the shuttle, she was surprised to see the additions to the rescue group. Scourge voiced his disapproval, but Rionnic reminded him of how powerful Vitiate was. The first Wrath argued about the risks, which led to his successor taking on full responsibility upon all of the personnel accompanying him. It was quite the unexpected stance coming from Rionnic considering that he mostly preferred working solo.
"We're not helpless. You're venturing into the unknown... It'll be safer with numbers." Senya chimed in.
"Right, let's just go. Time's short." As Kira stepped back into the shuttle.
Minutes after they approached the coordinates, they were intercepted by a fighter unit coming from the ship Satele was in. Kira's shuttle managed to evade the attack while Arcann's shuttle from behind shot at the assailant. He told Kira to sprint towards the ship while he dispatched the enemy.
The two Wraths and two Jedi cautiously disembarked from their shuttle, expecting a welcoming party. They were met with darkness and silence instead. Their steps were light to avoid alerting the occupants, but without lightsabers to light their way, it was difficult.
Until they heard an argument coming from a control room. It was two Hands of the Emperor, being quite uncharacteristic by the way they bickered.
"This is impossible! We fixed one system and another broke! It's deliberate!"
"That must have been T7's handiwork," Kira whispered to Rionnic. "Let's take them out quietly before th-"
But Scourge had a different idea. He menacingly advanced towards the two servants, attacking them alone. Rionnic could only narrow his eyes at that. When the rest of the group joined Scourge, it became an uneven fight. Riornivo only flinched and cowered during the brutality, earning some side eyes from his twin. But Kira put a comforting hand on the rattled Jedi, understanding how unnerving it was watching the two Wraths mercilessly struck down their enemies.
T7 emerged from hiding behind some boxes, expressing his relief.
"Ship = off-course // Unknown group = arrived before T7 + Hand"
Which led Kira to question who else was in the ship. Scourge wanted to dispatch them, causing Riornivo to disagree as they could be after the same purpose. "Agreed," as Kira interjected, "Containment should be our priority anyways."
"Engine malfunction = temporary // direct sabotage = necessary"
"Great, I'll take T7 to make sure the hyperdrive and engines are completely shut down. Shields and weapons too, just in case. You wanna come along?" To which Riornivo took up Kira's offer.
"We must still make sure no one on this ship can leave. We cannot risk the plague spreading." Scourge reminded, to which Rionnic replied, "We should launch the escape pods before anyone can use it… and the unknown group's transport."
Everyone nodded as the objectives were set and thus, the two Jedi and Wraths split up. The two Siths encountered more servants along the way, fighting their former comrades off while releasing the escape pods and progressing towards the hangar control room. Their counterparts weren't met with as much combat until they reached their objective. As much as Riornivo hated violence, he couldn't possibly let Kira face the enemies alone.
He reluctantly drew his new lightsaber, while utilizing mostly defensive Force abilities. Every chance he could incapacitate the opponent, he took it.
Upon seeing the mystery shuttle being a Zakuulan one, Rionnic was unsurprised but still perplexed. Scourge voiced his disdain about the passenger's loyalty to Valkorion, to which Rionnic added, "Some of them oppose my tenure. I can't be sure of their agenda."
"Then we should give them a chance to explain themselves before striking."
After releasing the shuttle into open space, Kira called them to report on her progress. Rionnic did the same, and Kira gave everyone a coordinate to meet on a hunch that both Jedi sensed Satele's whereabouts. Once the two Wraths made their way to the ship's bridge, they found some lifeless Scions, with traces of lightsaber battles around the room. Rionnic recalled their purpose while he readjusted the ship's course. When they were about to leave the bridge, an unmistakable, ghostly voice lamented the loss of lives, urging an end to it.
"Revan?"
"The ritual inscribed on Tenebrae's flesh–the plague, is taking over its host's minds. He's being remade, I can feel it. We need to intervene." Revan remarked.
"Kira will lead us in meditation. We will join our minds and try to purge the plague from Satele's psyche."
"Then go, quickly. I'll help you as best as I can."
The two Jedi met Arcann's group, and not long after, they met the two Wraths at the specified coordinates. From a distance, Satele can be seen being dragged around along with her students by the servants, but they were stopped by an unsettling scene. Minazar, a fatally injured Scion used the last of his breaths to laugh once he spotted the rescue group.
“Heskal’s prophecy… at last, we’re all here…”
But Servant Four emerged with her lightsaber brandished. “You cannot stop this!”
“You’ll never win!” Minazar argued back. “Valkorion’s last vestige will soon be purged from your corruption!”
“You were puppets! Fools! We’re his true followers! Only we know the true shape of his power–of his plans!”
Rionnic rubbed his forehead while sighing defeatedly at the bickering. Arcann attempted to reason with them after Riornivo's effort failed, producing the same result. Weapons were drawn when Servant Four ended Minazar's life. The fight was difficult; the room they were in was small compared to the one Satele was located, but they avoided bringing the fight near her. Even more lives were lost.
Kira and Theron wasted no time to check on Satele's condition while Riornivo did the same for the group, healing their minor injuries.
"She's still breathing. Some of her students… we gotta hurry."
"Quick! Form a circle." Scourge commanded.
But Theron grabbed Riornivo's arm, with a somber look on his face. "I'll keep guard in case there are stragglers."
"Theron?"
"I'm glad I could help but… I don't think I want to see the inside of her head."
"Couldn't agree more." Rionnic interjected.
The Barsen'thor acknowledged the agent's concern, and advised him to wake any of them up should anything go wrong. Kira began to instruct the Force wielders to focus their minds on Satele, and to control their breathing as they went into deep meditation. Then, to follow her voice as the Force gradually shifted the fabric of reality.
Vaylin woke up in a strange place, unlike anything she had ever seen before. How did she get there? Was this another dream? Just when she thought to sleep earlier today! She was wearing her former Empress robes, complete with the head covering. Looking down, she saw an endless, purplish gray void. But the most perturbing thing was a tall figure approaching her.
It was her murderer, the evil twin.
Instantly, she activated her lightsaber to defend herself. She had never come face to face with him ever since that day. He marched closer with his lightsaber pointed at her. Gazing upon the face of the man she had come to care for contorted with such hatred made her weaker.
"Everytime you hurt him, I felt it too. Didn't you know?"
A damaging statement hitting her where it mattered. Her fists clenched tighter, with the free one shooting sparks out. Flashes of that day resurfaced; his red lightsaber through her body, but his twin quickly pulled him away from her.
"Get away from me!"
"No, you get away from me. Get away from him."
He took the first swing. She successfully blocked it, quickly creating a distance by sidestepping. She pushed him away with the Force, but it only managed to weakly shove him. Either his Force resistance had increased tremendously, or she became weaker instead. He struck again with added weight to his swing, causing her to stagger back after parrying. Not giving her a chance, he swung again multiple times, straining her resolve, causing her defense to get sloppy. It felt like a casual fencing session for him, clearly not using his full might and expertise. While she was fighting for her life. A reminiscence to what she used to love doing to her subordinates.
Her lightning bolts missed, distance created easily closed by his much larger size, her own strikes deftly countered, and even her anger wasn't enough to overcome the circumstance. She couldn't even find a second to focus on the Force prowess she had.
But suddenly, another lightsaber clashed with his. This time, it was someone his own size, catching him off guard. Having the fight unexpectedly leveled against him, he had to finally use his off-hand lightsaber.
"Thexan?"
Was this another Iokath situation? Was Thexan real? She took a moment to sense her brother's presence through the Force, and it reciprocated. She could feel him. But she was already quite drained to assist her brother, and her head was spinning with questions and a strange but familiar influence trying to take over…
Kira woke up to a horrifying environment, discouraged by the state of Satele's mind. Next to her was Riornivo, who awakened shortly after her. "I can’t sense the others… I'm not sure if they made it in."
"Unexpected visitors… Fascinating."
That voice again, unmistakable and dreadful. Both of them walked forward cautiously when Valkorion appeared in a flash of lightning, startling them. “You don’t recognize me?” Riornivo asked.
“No, but you come here for a purpose… Ah, who might you be?”
Before they could do anything, Valkorion summoned dark energies taking the form of monstrosities to welcome them. Kira leapt into the fight while Valkorion vanished. Choice was once again ripped from Rio’s hands as he had to fight off the monstrosities inflicting all kinds of negative emotions with each attack. After the last of them was defeated, Valkorion praised them both, but yet another voice familiar to Kira echoed the sentiment. Vitiate.
"What the-"
But there was another manifestation, a void-eyed Sith pureblood, donned in an ancient apparel and a body full of markings.
Riornivo thought he was taking pills of lunacy when each of the forms took turns in talking, remarking what memories and knowledge Satele possessed when pressed about the past encounters. Seeing that the monstrosities weren’t giving the two Jedi much trouble, Tenebrae isolated Rio from Kira, leaving him to fight alone. But an equally powerful presence launched a surprise attack on Tenebrae, reducing his form to a dark dust.
“In this fight you are never alone!” Revan exclaimed.
The relief Riornivo felt was tremendous–he didn’t think he could survive three Emperors by himself. Revan took over most of the fighting as they progressed further into the corrupted memory, restoring it little by little by reliving the fonder ones such as Satele's early recalling of her padawan days. Once Tenebrae’s attention was stolen from the others by what the pair was doing, he reappeared to stop Revan and Riornivo.
Even more unexpected appearances came to assist. It was Meetra Surik and Scourge, seemingly to have closed their own chapter all those years ago. Outnumbered, the void-eyed Sith shifted the scene and scattered his enemies again. It wasn't long after Rio got up that another familiar voice spoke to him. Darth Marr.
"This impression of Tenebrae isn't as powerful as he thinks he is. His lack of memory means that he does not know how to effectively combat us," as Rio approached him, still quite light-headed. "Despite this state of mind, Satele is stronger than that. You can stop him. Avenge me. Avenge us all!"
Another blinding light and a change of environment. Riornivo wondered how Marr was able to do that, but he concluded that the Sith was a close companion to Satele during her exile. Perhaps he was one of the last bastions of Satele's mind against Tenebrae's corruption. He took a moment to regain his composure–all that teleportation and cameos was quite disorientating. Fortunately, he felt right at home walking around the faux Tython, discovering a small holocron by a statue. He then showed it towards a gateway, opening up a passage leading back to the distorted scenery.
He looked around to see if he wasn’t alone anymore. Failing that, he started walking, eventually seeing a corrupted Jedi temple in the distance. But a scene unveiling nearby caught his attention first. His twin was fighting Arcann’s twin and Vaylin. Rionnic was holding his own against the siblings, being so much more powerful it’s unnatural.  “STOP!”
Riornivo’s shouting distracted Rionnic, which Thexan took to full advantage. He stepped back and then jumped for the kill.
But he was frozen mid-air. It wasn’t only him, both Vaylin and Rionnic received the same treatment. When Riornivo finally arrived in the middle of the three, he panted and struggled to normalize his breathing. While the frozen three looked at him with gobsmacked expressions. Comically, the Jedi manually removed their lightsabers, then rearranged them away from each other gently with the Force. He knew full well that he was in for either a verbal or physical smack down after he released them.
“Please, this is what Valkorion wanted you to do. We must work together…”
And so he released them. Thexan seemed to understand and just stood there, Rionnic was baring his teeth at his brother, while Vaylin pulled her lightsaber back.
“He tried to kill me! He started it first! I was just defending myself from my murderer!” Vaylin shouted.
“Ah, here we go again. You’re going to excuse her behavior in three… two…” Rionnic mocked.
“Stop. Please, just a moment. It’s killing me to see you both like this. We can talk this through. I’m beggi-”
“Oh, no, not this again! This just keeps on getting better!” Vaylin interrupted upon seeing her mother and brother approaching. Meanwhile, Tenebrae was watching from stealth, smiling at the chaos unfolding.
“Brother… I…” Arcann lamented.
“I know.”
“Know what? That he’s just as delusional as our parents?”
“Vaylin… please.”
“Please, please,” Vaylin mocked, while Rionnic stepped back, wanting no part of this family reunion. “Please what, mother? To stop reminding you of the truth? Does it hurt? Because it pales to what you’ve done to me.”
“I know I don’t deserve your forgiveness. But you deserve to hear this,” as Senya slowly approached her daughter. “I was wrong… He took you and I said nothing. He caged you and I just stood by. He robbed you of the woman you were destined to be but I… I let it happen. Others blamed you for so much, but the fault is all mine. The pain and suffering wouldn’t have happened if I just fought harder… for you. I could have done more… I should have done more.”
Senya’s weeping seemed to ease its way into Vaylin’s heart. Riornivo had been nodding somberly throughout, adding his own words to it. “I know this isn’t nearly enough to make things right… but I hope hearing this brings you some peace, Vaylin.”
It resulted in a long pause from everyone until Vaylin recouped her composure, sniffing out her father from behind. “Can we focus? There’s someone else here who needs to DIE.”
“Heh, foolish child,” as Valkorion suddenly appeared, once again startling everyone. He held out a hand, attempting to invade Vaylin’s mind. Not this time, she thought. The Force fully cooperated with her by blasting Valkorion with lightning, stopping his attempt and unveiling both Vitiate and Tenebrae nearby. The Zakuulan family advanced towards Tenebrae, cornering him.
"You presume limits to my power. There are none."
Surprisingly, it resulted in Rionnic flinching and hissing while holding his head. His younger brother caught him as his vision returned from distortion. His head immediately felt lighter, and his breathing easier. Riornivo quickly  figured out what was happening. Tenebrae was inside Rionnic's head.
“You need to get to the center. Go!” Arcann ushered.
Thus, the twin brothers hurried towards the corrupted Jedi temple. While he was still feeling light headed from being mentally freed minutes earlier, Rionnic fought off the remaining monstrosities with a strong sense of protecting his brother. Using the same holocron of memory, Riornivo untangled the temple’s grand door out of those dark roots.
And in the heart of what used to be the council room was Satele, deep in meditation.
Tenebrae further taunted the twins by saying that Satele was only moments away from being hollowed out.
"You’re starting to sound a bit desperate. Who are you trying to convince?" Rionnic taunted right back.
"Mindless child!"
Tenebrae broke the council room apart to reveal the ruined mindscape once more, reveling in his coming victory. “No.”
The former Grandmaster stood up, full of determination. “Your power is your weakness. It blinds you.”
“Jedi nonsense!”
Satele herself joined in the taunting battle, but more eloquently, countering each of Tenebrae’s barbs by acknowledging them and describing how well she knew his inner workings and egotistical crusade. “I never had to beat you. I only had to let you think you’re invincible… Until now, until every person who knows your weakness firsthand could come to face you.”
Led by Revan, the people Satele mentioned marched forward, ready to end their common enemy. “Until the one person who proved you could be defeated came here to destroy you, once and for all.” as Satele took her place next to the Barsen’thor.
“But I-”
“You hesitate now, this will all be for nothing, Spiky.”
In all the years he had met his twin, that was the first time ever Rionnic called his brother by his nickname. It inflicted mixed emotions for the Jedi: endearment, anxiety, and confusion. The mindscape was quickly overrun with crimson Force as Tenebrae merged his forms into Valkorion, beginning the fight for their lives.
Rionnic and Satele tried to attack the Emperor, but they were repelled by a dark barrier. Before they could hit the ground, they floated harmlessly, caught by Riornivo’s gentle Force powers. The others leapt into the fight, and Valkorion summoned helpers to manage the amount of attacks he was bearing. It was pure chaos.
With combined powers and strength, they managed to vanquish Valkorion’s form, resulting in the emergence of Vitiate. The rest of the fighters weren’t letting up. Riornivo mainly utilized his defensive and healing powers, managing the combatants' physical statuses. This had not gone unnoticed as Rionnic stole a few seconds to remind his twin to launch his offense instead of defending endlessly. Which made the Jedi wish he was never there.
Vitiate seemed to have something personal against Revan, because he was taking most of the hits. All of the other fighters who tried to assist were overwhelmed by the weight of Vitiate’s trap in the form of strings, like a puppeteer controlling his subjects. Revan’s strength was waning, while Riornivo was struggling to summon enough Force to free himself and the others. Revan decided to spend his remaining grit to free the Barsen’thor.
“Strike him!”
No more room for hesitation. Drawing his green lightsaber and Force Light on the other hand, Riornivo did not charge at Vitiate, but instead finally used his Architect Wings to jet forward and imbued his strike with the Force Light. Vitiate failed to resist, watching his trap vanish and his form disintegrate. It was time for Tenebrae to take matters into his own hand. He didn’t waste time and impaled Riornivo with a crimson blade made of pure Force energy. There were screams of his name.
The ancient Sith then tossed him away.
Vaylin and Rionnic rushed towards him. Satele stood guarding her former student from Tenebrae’s overwhelming power, while the rest continued the fight despite being close to fatigue themselves. The Barsen’thor’s wings were covering his wound, dispersing some sort of healing salve thanks to his modifications to Brontes’ invention. But he was veering in and out of consciousness. Vaylin cradled him on her lap, trying to keep him awake. His twin was grasping his hand, noticing dark streams traveling inside his brother’s veins.
“Fight it off. Take my strength. You don’t leave me now, brother.”
And he wouldn’t. He was lifted off the ground by his wings, encased in blinding light combined with lightning currents from each conduit of the wings. When he landed, he was trying to catch his breaths, hand over the healed wound on his chest. Both of his hands then reached out to Rionnic and Vaylin. Holding their hands, he finally spoke for the first time.
“I agree. It’s time for this to end.”
It carved a smile on both of their faces. The Jedi’s face was no longer masked by his own reluctance. He released the hands of his loved ones and started levitating while summoning an immense amount of Force Light. It caught Tenebrae’s attention. Before he could turn around to face Riornivo, beams of energy shot out from the wings, creating holes. The Force Light disembarked from Rio’s hands towards him. Try as he might to resist or destroy it, the Light started enveloping him, causing unimaginable pain.
All three of his forms were cornered. He concentrated the last of his might and knocked everyone down in a crimson wave, slowly overpowering them. Only Riornivo was still standing albeit weakly. Tenebrae focused his power onto him, breaking through his mental defenses. His head felt like it was exploding.
Just like how she resisted her father’s control, Vaylin mustered enough strength and ran a hand on Riornivo’s back, gentle and comforting. It worked like a charm, as he met her eyes and nodded lovingly.
The fighters slowly stood up with renewed resolve. Satele remarked; “Everything you’ve done…” continued by Senya; “Everyone you’ve betrayed…” and by Kira; “Everyone you’ve manipulated!” then lastly, by Meetra; “Everyone you’ve murdered…”
“The Force seeks balance. Always!” Revan pointed out.
True enough, his power was his weakness. He was suddenly caught off guard and was blasted by his own power. It turned Valkorion to a statue, followed by Vitiate. Then lastly, Tenebrae, who put up as much fight as he could. The Emperor crumbled to a pool of ashes.
The Force immediately felt just, and the whole galaxy was lifted from a burden thousands of years endured. Rionnic kicked the ashes, as a last mockery towards his former master.
“Are you alright?” Vaylin’s question to Riornivo.
“Now I’m alright.” said the Jedi while his wings retracted, having fulfilled their purpose.
It was her turn to be oblivious to the hidden meaning behind Rio’s response. She nodded, then her attention was stolen towards Arcann pleading to his brother.
“Please, Thex, just a little bit longer. I don’t want to wake up. Please stay…” as he squeezed his brother, talking in tears.
“You’re behaving like when we were kids. You need to wake up or your wife will kill you.” Thexan teased. He then pulled Senya into the hug.
And Vaylin just kept her head down, shrinking behind Riornivo. With a smile, Rio gently ushered her towards her family, and Senya pulled her in the group hug. They were sobbing and uttering apologies to one another. “We’re together now.”
One by one, the people vanished, bathed in light, either becoming one with the Force or waking up from their slumber. Riornivo breathed a sigh of relief.
But was it truly the end?

So I watched that mgafs video with Frank and was immediately reminded of your oc when it got towards the end of puppet and Monty talking
Yes! Yes! You have no idea how much I was stimming through out the episode!
Frank is spooky omnipotent boy just like Hazard
They both misunderstood (and are seen as villains now.) because they hide their true self’s, and have an unknown amount of power
Both are now considered parasite (yet they want to help people. Frank seems to want to help the villains as well. Hazard wishes to do the same!)
Both have a fear thing
I rushed so fast to make that art. lol

Info:
my blorpos! my skrinkly dinklys!!!
Sophie and Sam are adopted twins, or so they call themselves anyway, with there being literally exactly a month in between their birthdays, October 22nd and September 22nd respectively.
Sophie was technically, the "first" sibling, having been taken in by the twins father, Felix, at 6 months, and she's always been something…special, Sophie. from as little as 1 she could make objects disappear and appear as she pleased, randomly change the colour of food and water, and even her own physical appearance, changing her naturally blonde hair to black to match her father. Sophie was an Avatar of Creation, part of a long lineage of beings known as The Hins.
The Hins, born every time a previous one perishes, are the embodiment of pure creation, or as its known in universe, The Soop. the avatar can be anyone, anywhere, and in this case, it was Sophie! Hins have a general omnipotence, as well as a slight ability to divine the future and the ability to manifest and create anything they wish, although this has to be honed throughout a Hins life. Sophie, though, started off with some pretty powerful clairvoyance. and one day, when she was about 3.
She saw a boy lost in the woods, in her minds eye. he was scared and frightened, bruised and scratched. Sophie wanted to see why anyone would be so hurt as that, to make sure he was ok! like any good little girl would. so she snuck out the house, unbeknownst to her father. and she went to look for this lost and hurt boy, and found him, exactly where she'd thought he'd be. the kid didnt approach her at first. for someone her own age, Sophie had never met someone so afraid of other people before. she shared whatever she could find, sticks, bugs, sweets, even the coolest of rocks, trying to gain his trust. and eventually, the boy spoke to her! his name was Lukas, Lukas Selevure, and although Sophie couldn't have known it at the time. she was about to rescue this boy from a truly horrible fate.
Lukas Mother, Lucinda Selevure, was something of a mad scientist. a mad, mad scientist, if you will. Her Son, her only son, nothing more than an experiment for her. because Lukas was born with powers of his own. control over the cold, over ice, and snows. Lucinda had had powers as such before too…only to have lost them, through divine intervention due to her developing a whole "it is my divine right to rule the world" complex. and she planned to use her son, to give her back her powers. So Lukas, knowing he was in danger, but not knowing how, Ran. he ran fast and far, as far away from Lucinda as he could. and the universe, or fate, or luck, or maybe just a little girl looking to help, brought Lukas to the safest place possible for him. a Family.
Sophie told her father, of course she did, about what Lukas was going through, and Felix Somalma (as he was at the time), did not hesitate for a second to take this boy in. legality be damned, lawsuits be damned, that kid was not safe around Selevure. Lukas was renamed, to Samuel Somalma (a name he himself picked out, to match with Sophie! the S gang for life), and his appearance was altered so drastically he looked nothing like his mother anymore. but everything like his Sister and Father. of course, Sam didnt escape entirely unscathed. Lucinda still did monumental damage to him. but he wouldnt ever be hurt by Selevure again, not with his twin sister by his side.
The twins grew up happy as clams, at least until. the stepdad came along. Felix was a kind man, a good, softhearted, friendly man. but that made it very easy for the wrong man to swoop in, and take advantage of that. that man was named Ethan Andrikos, and from the second he darkened their door, Sophie and Sam knew, he was trouble. they stuck by each other, as they watched Felix slowly become less and less himself under the eye of their shitty vampire stepdad, fought back however they could. and eventually, the two even put together a court case, a whole court case, just two kids! all so they could save their dad. and the divorce was long, and messy. and unfortunately for the twins, required them both to be sent to separate houses, to prevent any risk to them in case of Ethan trying…something.
Neither of the Somalma twins wanted to be apart, of course, they'd spent their whole lives together! they would barely manage apart. and they struggled, absolutely, for a while. but it just made coming home all the sweeter, to a house without a shitty stepdad, with their old dad back, their old rooms and everything. nothing could keep their family apart, and certainly nothing could keep them apart either. They were always in the same classes at school, and really, each others only friends, because well. with powers as bizarre as theirs, and lives as odd too. no one really wanted to get too entrenched into the lives of the Somalmas.
they're both 22 now, as the current story goes, Sam having left school and gone to a music university, Sophie having dropped out to. become a supervillain? yeah i mean considering her powers, it would work. and they both still live with their dad, i mean, they're a hispanic family and all, they cant really imagine going anywhere else! and their dad, something of a serial adopter, has, well. adopted a fair few more siblings. but for Sophie and Sam, its always them against the world. a pair of nerds whose spent all their lives as best friends, picking each other up when they're down, teasing and playfighting as siblings do but never not being their for each other. it's the SS siblings for life! and sure, Felix remarried. and they're a little skeptical of the new dad too. but whatever they go through, they go through it together!!
Misc facts:
both of them have autism. their whole family has autism, actually. its like their thing /lhj/pos
Sam has had a lifelong hyperfixation on Sonic the Hedgehog that Sophie actually started off for him, getting Sonic 2 for them both to play CO-OP on!
Sophie meanwhile hyperfixates on Star Wars. they were 5 years old when Revenge of the Sith came out and ever since them, Sam goes to see every single star was movie with his sister, even the ones he knows she'll hate, just so she has good company for them
Because of Sams ice powers, and general apperance, he gets called, lovingly, "the abominable snow-sam" by his sister. he is not fond of this /lh
Sophie has many nicknames for her brother actually, including Snow Queen, Elsa, Vanilla Ice, Frappe boy, Snowcone Mcgee, it goes on
Sam has one nickname for Sophie. Dumbass. it gets the point across very well, he thinks
up until they were about 12, Sophie was the tallest sibling by a whole 2 inches, being 5'4 to sams 5'2, until sam SHOT up to a whopping 6'2, and Sophie stayed exactly where she was. no she is NOT salty about this
Sam is very much Mentally Unwell trademark as a result of everything he went through as a child, including some stuff i left out for brevity (laugh /lhj), so as a result he has extremely bad social and generalised anxiety, as well as Depression, which he's unmedicated for.
this results in Sophie being one of the only people who Sam comes out of his shell for, one of the only people he'll even bother talking to.
Sophie as well, despite being the opposite and extremely extroverted, still relies on Sam in conversations as something of a comedic foil, she bounces off him perfectly and finds shes her most authentic self with her brother to help and play support.
they both grew up in London with their dad, but in the cannon recently moved to a place named Yeah City, Ohio (which is an RP i do with my friends!) where there family has grown exponentially.
aside from their dad, Felix, their joint favourite family members are their adopted younger sibling, Mavis, who they both try very hard to be the cool older sibling too, and their uncle Vincent Lance, who they both try and impress because hes like. a cool immortal autistic musician man and they both think thats cool as shit
demigirl and demiboy solidarity!!
Sophie is bisexual aro/acespec and sam is just Bisexual. sibling solidarity!
once had a birthday party together where Sam slept through the whole thing and Sophie staged a kidnapping of the employees for banning her from the ball pit (she kept putting mouse traps in the pit)
Sam, despite his anxiety, is ironically pretty fearless, while Sophie is very easily frightened despite putting a brave idiot facade. the best example of this is Sophie at age 5 being fucking terrified of Monsters Inc, while Sam was happily watching pg-13s by 6.
Sam, because of his ice powers, sometimes just. sits in the freezer, in the house. Sophie will sit on top of the freezer and talk to him through the lid, its peak bonding time for them
Sophie loves wearing hats, always has done, and some of her favourites, like a character hat of Yoda Star Wars, were brought for her by Sam!
Sam regularly dyes his hair because of his tragic backstory, and every time he does it he swaps the sides the black and brown dye are on to fuck with friends and family
At one point Sophie got possessed by an evil void ghost thats not relevant here, but a side effect of that is that she's stuck with dark black streaks in her hair that'll never come out. to make her feel better about it, Sam calls it "Emo Solidarity" due to his own. Emo-ness/lh/pos/aff
….god im so sorry this is so long /lh

Imagine
Imagine if the awful nonsensical "Two Gods" subplot was never dreamt up (lol) and there were no relic mcguffins, creationist worldbuilding weirdness or magical insta-solutions.
What would that mean for the setting? Well, with that in mind imagine if:
Ozpin had an actual backstory that justified the mistrust some characters have towards him and allowed him to be a flawed and morally ambiguous but well meaning being he is clearly supposed to be. Not just some person with childish toothless "Secret" that gets absolutely hilariously weird over-reaction from characters (while other actually creepy aspects like being an ageless body-snatcher are completely ignored).
Imagine if the likes of Raven were more than a walking filler subplot and had actual motivations and genuine reasons to not just go hand in hand with Ozpin's wishes.
Salem was more than a walking misogynistic trope and had a worldview, beliefs and ideas beyond being just a really bad case of a scorned lover.
Imagine writers having to actually write a sensible set of motivations for Cinder and why she follows Salem or for why Emerald and Mercury follow Cinder.
There was no convenient way to handwave away things like broken moon, state of the world, etc with "magic".
Kingdoms and characters were given actual agency to make worst possible decisions without omnipotent magical items or evil councils being the cause.
Since Kingdoms and people can make absolute worst possible decisions, characters and narrative had to actually deal with and explore issues like bigotry, classism, ableism, etc that the show merely vaguely lampshades nowadays.
Characters could find and choose their paths without being guided by wishy washy magical realms or vague concepts of "destiny" or writer's own blond blue eyed self insert OC telling them what to do and what is right.
World and setting establishment and progression wasn't dictated by using gods/relics/magic as a reason for something being or not being the way it is.
Imagine if characters were allowed to deal with trauma and form actual grounded ideas about the world.
Imagine if your four leads were allowed to grow, make mistakes , improve, heal and search for their place in the world and go on journeys of self-discovery without the story constantly needing to reset them to status quo, reiterate how they are infallible or constantly rant about how nobody should change ever. Or without a writer self insert OC eating up all the screentime.
There would not be entire volumes dedicated to absolutely awful magic/two gods idea.
It is truly curious how story that is supposedly in part about choosing to be better and walking a better path in the wake of tragedy and overcoming past mistakes completely takes away that agency from characters by making magic/relics/gods the cause of literally everything and every bad or morally wrong decision in the story somehow can be traced back to unambiguously evil vague group of walking stereotypes.
Thanks for dreaming up two magical living plot devices I guess...

Watcher snippet.
Lore bits

Tumblr media
A little late, but the oc poll winner is here! Again, Watcher is difficult for me to write. She is... not a fully good person.
Tumblr media
“Wow. You are completely unbothered, aren’t you?”
The masked being sprawled across the couch simply lifted her head and hummed pleasantly, the eyeholes in her red mask empty and inky. A sign she was in a neutral mood.
Rin simply scowled as he set his pulse rifle aside, beginning to shed his armor as he began to descend the steps into the ‘living’ area of the station’s common room. He took in the woman’s usual impeccable appearance. Black vest, red button up with the sleeves rolled up, black pants with those ridiculous robotic heels.
A snarl curled his lip before he took off one of his pauldrons and threw it at the lounging creature. Before it hit her, she caught it, her mouthless mask unchanging as she stared at the human approaching her.
“… You’re upset.” She observed with a curious tone, her short boyish hair shifting slightly as she tilted her head.
“Yeah, I’m upset.” Rin growled as he leaned over the back of the couch, “I just spent hours fighting against a swarm of Hive to contain an outbreak, and you’re here napping!”
“I wish,” Watcher denied in a light tone as her gaze drifted away, facing the wall as she muttered offhandedly, “I don’t need to nap, unfortunately. I miss sleeping.”
Her attention was dragged back to Rin when the man grabbed the front of her shirt and nearly hauled her over the couch to face him.
“You are an omnipotent, indestructible monster that can teleport, survive the vacuum of space, and destroy cities with a snap of your fingers, but you can’t get off your ass long enough to help fight!?” Rin nearly screamed, glaring down at the being with undisguised hatred, “I thought you were here to help humanity!?”
For a moment, Watcher didn’t say anything. Then she slowly, with more strength than Rin was comfortable acknowledging, uncurled his fingers from her shirt with an unbothered air, “I am. Unfortunately, there are rules.”
Rin scoffed as he shoved her back onto the couch, walking over to the nearby kitchen to seethe and eat something, “Right, right. The ‘rules’ you’re supposedly bound to. Like what, not going down to Earth yourself to fight?“
“I’m not allowed on Earth because it’s a neutral zone for magic of all types.” She reminded him in an annoyed tone, her mask eyes shifting to narrow slightly at the older man, “If I go down there, I’m bound by laws already put in place by older beings. I’d be at an extreme disadvantage, even with neutral magic.”
“Yeah right.” Rin growled as he tore open a cupboard, grabbing a bowl as he continued, “I've seen your ‘neutral ground’ magic. It's bullshit! You tore apart an armada-”
“In space.” Watcher clarified in an aggravated tone, “I tore apart an armada in space. I'm not allowed to do that on earth-”
“Why!?” Rin snapped, throwing the bowl against the counter hard enough to crack it. He turned back to her and braced himself on the kitchen island counter as he demanded, “Why aren't you ‘allowed’!? Do you have any idea how quickly you could end this outbreak!?”
“I do.” Watcher curtly snapped. Rin had to stop himself seeing her eyes begin to glow that sickly yellow color again. Pinpricks of light that gave off an eerie unsettling feeling. Fish eyes… or something Rin would see in those uncanny valley memes. She continued as she stood up and walked around the couch, “I've done this before, remember? I already know.”
Rin hesitated, sensing one wrong step could set her off. Lowly, he repeated, “Why?”
Watcher stared at him for a moment, and Rin was prepared to be torn to bits. Then she sighed and reached into one of her pockets, pulling out a faded photo and setting it on the counter.
He had seen her look at it before battles. From rumors and speculations, people assumed it was of her human life. Her family, or maybe even friends. Rin was not prepared to see the oddest assortment of people in the photo. Most of them looked to be adults. A robot in one corner, a middle aged man beside a younger male with multicolored hair wearing a mask. And in the center-
“Holy shit…” Rin whispered as his eyes widened, his throat closing up at the sight of the adolescent smiling in the picture, “Is that Hellfrost?”
Hellfrost. A legend among the stars and foreign empires. A man, or dragon to be more precise, wanted by the Citadel. And the only thing currently keeping humans from going extinct. A one man army who could not die and fought to end outbreaks across the universe. Rin’s group’s mentor.
The violet dragon looked… happy in this picture. No older than a sixteen year old, though the Hellfrost Rin knew appeared at least twenty-eight. And next to him… a girl no more than twelve in an oversized black hoodie with a big grin on her face, crushed in the young dragon's embrace.
Rin's stomach sank when he realized what he was looking at.
“... You knew him. That's why you two are fighting. Something happened-”
“I reset so he could have a real fighting chance.” Watcher informed him in an even tone, though regret and bitterness festered in her words, “We lost the first time, me and my group. Zxin tore them apart, and made us watch. Earth was overrun with the Hive.”
Looking away, Watcher continued, “I didn't know what else to do at the time. I was scared, and he was losing. And I was right next to one of Zxin's Consoles. It gave me the option to reset the timeline and give us a second chance, and I took it.”
“-At the cost of your humanity…” Rin guessed with rising nausea, “That's why you can't go to Earth. That's why the Citadel calls you an Outlier. You erased yourself from the timeline as payment to turn back time.” A sacrifice.
“I did.” She confirmed in a sweet tone. Her eyes no longer glowed as she picked up the picture again, lost in thought, “They're far away from here now. I made sure they weren't picked again. Devanii, though… he may not remember, but he knows I did something. And he hates not knowing all the variables. He hopes to… battle it out of me.”
Shrugging, she put the picture away as Rin stared at her, the puzzle pieces falling into place in a gut-wrenching way.
“... You chose me and my group as a sacrifice. A replacement.”
“Yes.”
“To protect your group.”
“Yep.”
“And Devanii is pissed at you for that.” Rim guessed slowly as his lips curled back, “Because that's exactly what he doesn't want. People dying needlessly. And he knows we aren't his friends.”
Well, they were friends, but fuck, now Rin knew why Hellfrost would look so sad when he watched them train. They weren't his to lead into battle. They never were. And he knew that.
“Unfortunately, yes.” Watcher confirmed unapologetically. Clapping her hands together, she chirped, “The good news is that he trained you and your friends wonderfully! I know you’ll survive!”
“You bitch.” Rin whispered in horror as he watched Watcher stride away back to the couch. “That's why. You can't go to Earth without reattatching to it and losing your powers. And Hellfrost will kick your ass, but still-”
“That's why I stay here.” Watcher finished as she dropped back onto the couch. “I keep more Hive and the Citadel from coming to earth, and you and your group eradicate the invasion from the ground.”
A lump formed in Rin's throat as he bowed his head, taking a shaky breath before asking halting, “And your group? Where did you send them?”
Watcher didn’t respond, quiet and reluctant as she lounged. Rin bared his teeth as he pushed himself away from the counter and drew one of his pistols, pointing it at the couch with barely controlled rage and grief. But he couldn't pull that trigger. He couldn’t. Because against his will, all he could see was a scared little girl watching her world end and the only family she possibly knew die in gruesome, unimaginable ways. And lo and behold, she found a solution at the cost of ever being with them again. And one of them wanting her dead. The only one she could freely interact with…
“Oh my god…” Rin whispered as he lowered the gun, his hand trembling. “Oh my god...”
They were a sacrifice. For her people. Watcher grew up in Oblivion for who knew how long knowing the future, and changing it as she saw fit. An entire universal tapestry, resown and remade to her idea of what safety and victory looked like.
No wonder an immortal like Hellfrost was pissed… how much had changed in his past? How much torture remained the same? Did Watcher even interact with him when he was locked in Oblivion? Did she even attempt to relieve any of the torture he went through growing up?
“You…”
The ship intercom beeped a pleasant jingle as Rin fought to urge to puke, causing Watcher to glance up in surprise.
“Welcome back: Agent Jessie - Agent Ace - Captain Hellfrost. Number of current occupants on the ship - Four.”
“That's my cue to leave.” Watcher grunted as she stretched. Glancing back at Rin, she supplied, “I would suggest checking your maps. I marked down some Hive nests to take care of. Ta-Ta!”
And she was gone in a flicker of static. Leaving Rin shaking in the small open kitchen with information he couldn't even share without revealing Watcher kept visiting the ship under his watch. Devanii wouldn't even be mad. Just... disappointed.
Hearing the heavy footfalls of his mentor down the hall and his group chattering cheerily, Rin decided to just blame his nerves on the battle…
One way or another, Watcher would get her due.
And, Rin hoped, payback for playing god.

So I adopted that design for the broadcast iterator and now they're an actual oc. First iterator oc i guess???
This is Wishful Omnipotence, I know it's still WO for short but it kinda stuck when I first thought about it, or Omni for short and their facked up cat, Skorpios.
Stuff about them cuz i wanna ramble : (same stuff as the previous ref plus some)
General lore info :
They're the Solstice Local Group Senior (aka Suns and Sliver's senior)
Their job is to make sure iterators in the local group don't get drunk in power and start a cult, because Solstice LC has some of the most religious colonies in the world.
Have given up on the Great Problem but encourage people to keep at it so the Ancients won't pester them
Their goal now is to find proof that a true god exists in the world
About them specifically :
They are that one teacher who gives an assignment then doesn't care what the class does for the rest of the period, unless something specific ticked them off
They love astronomy, it is genuine
They are superstitious because scientific means of solving the Great Problem has been fruitless
They don't like the Ancients, barely talks to their colony, can careless about them
Collect white iron rings to help ward off bad omen
Also has a demon's eye charm to ward off bad omen
The giant orb on their staff is a massive pearl that can project the star/constellation map
Also uses said orb to scry
Has taken down 2 iterator cults
Often checked on by Suns to make sure they haven't went nuts themselves
They enjoy hearing stories from Sliver about her freaky colony
They do not have the same senior priviliges and administrative directives as Moon
About their cat :
A mix of slugcat and conflux spider
Capable of manually editing memory confluxes
Last resort sent to deviating iterators that cannot be reasoned with
Its name is from the constellation Scorpius. It tells the tale of a scorpion sent by Gaia to slay the giant Orion, who threatened to kill all beasts in the world
Otherwise it acts like a ferret

youshould tell us about your ocs =]
I WILL HAPPILY DO SO THANK YOU o7 Anywish is essentially this oc concept world I’ve had for years, and one day when the task is feasible I’d love to make it a game. Main playable character is Kiki, who is the orange cat-adjacent character I post about sometimes. Other main character is Mo, the purple character with a ponytail and bunny-like floppy ears that I also post about sometimes, who would be Kiki’s companion throughout the game. Main concept of the game is that you exist in a world in which everyone has a power, a power that develops from your souls deepest desire and is derived from one of the five categories: mind, strength, nature, spirit, or resilience. Kiki, who was presumably believed to not have any powers, discovers through a string of events at the beginning of the story that he actually has the power of omnipotence and can harness all powers found within all categories. You also meet Mo through these string of events, who pledges to help Kiki discover what his powers mean. After this you travel across their world to fight all the leaders (the leaders are known as inclinations) of each power division pokémon-gym-leader style in order to learn and grow stronger. I could go more in depth about the inclinations and other side characters but essentially their purpose in the grand scheme of the theme is to explore what it means to exist and the inherent goodness of humanity. As Kiki grows stronger physically he also grows stronger mentally and gains a new perspective on life with Mo. Their characters are important together as I consider them two sides of the same coin, and that coin being the struggle of understanding your purpose. Kiki is at peace with the world but not with himself, he feels worthless and wishes he could contribute something to others that feels worthwhile, but fails to see that he doesn’t need to prove his existence due to self-doubt. Mo on the other hand, is at peace with themself but not with the world. They know that they deserve to be here and their existence doesn’t need to be proven or validated in order for it to mean something, but feels isolated from the world due to a troublesome past which led to a fear of deep emotional connection. As the two of them journey together they grow and heal from each other, gaining new perspectives in their own different ways that still have a sense of unity. While there’s much that goes on in the game their relationship is core to the theme present as that’s where the lessons learned stem from. Others I’m sure aren’t huge fans of the “power of love” trope but I absolutely love it I love stories that relish in the good and love in humanity so that’s what I want to make. I very much want to go for a “unrealistic situation, realistic emotions” type of story (that’s the best I can describe it, just think jonni phillips work. That’s what I want to go for narratively speaking) where things appear outlandish in presentation but profound in effect. I want to have deep discussions about the self prevalent but in a way that enhances the theme of the beauty of living :-)

this line.. beatrice was shaken by everything and finally she broke she even said no to ava the scene after. what we don’t talk about this show is that it questions our faith. what if there isn’t an omnipotent being? what if there is but it isn’t the one we’re expecting? what if there isn’t heaven and hell or what if only one of those actually exist? and in warrior nun.. the entities they’ve encountered aren’t the ones they expected and perhaps those who so wished for salvation flocked towards adriel because they feared or they heavily desired for it and now that it’s tangible… but for the ocs? for the catholic church? so who were they really putting their faith into now that they know that there is an omnipotent being but it’s someone so much different from who they prayed to? where did all their prayers and faith go if not to God? were they even praying to someone?

Professor Layton Iceberg Explanation
As I said in the tags of the original, the iceberg I made was a meme consisting of both real theories and satire/parodies/fandom memes. If anyone is interested, I can work on an unironic version that only has real theories.
Buckle in because this post is LONG and heavily saturated with lore and information.
Tumblr media
Actual theories
Parallel universe 1960s where the world wars didn’t happen. There’s an unused file in Curious Village that shows the year as 1960 and the time machine from UF is set to 1973, ten years into the future. The series canonically takes place in an undefined time period (hence the technological inaccuracies and fantasy elements), but it’s based off the 60s. There’s more evidence but we don’t have time to go over every little thing. I linked my “no wars” theory below but TL;DR the outdated airplanes and underdeveloped medicine in the Layton series imply that the world wars may never have happened. https://cayenne-twilight.tumblr.com/post/632205992162099200/outofcontextdiscord-timegearremix-zonosils-war
The real meaning behind the statue in Future London. In UF, the purpose of the statue is to spark Layton and Luke’s conversation about their friendship. Luke is stressing out about moving overseas and sees himself and the professor in the story behind the statue, but in the bigger picture, Clive must have been the one to commission it. Some theorize that the little boy is Clive and the man is either his father or the professor. One idea I’ve seen is that Clive wishes he could be Luke for real, while another is that he wishes he died ten years ago, and another is that he’s literally terminally ill explaining why he doesn’t care about consequence. Personally, I think “the boy succumbed to his illness” refers to his mental illness seeing as he wanted the professor to save him from his madness as he saved him all those years ago.
True location of Monte D’Or. there are no deserts on the British isles to my knowledge, so it makes the most sense for Monte D’Or to be in Southwest USA where English is the default language, they have a desert, and there exists a city famous for flashy hotels, casinos, and entertainment. What makes it odd is that nobody ever mentions overseas travel, and all the major characters are from England.
Loosha’s origins are not explicitly explained if I remember correctly, but the implication was that her prehistoric (supposedly) species was sealed away along with the garden, allowing them to survive all the way to the time of LS until Loosha was the only one left. The garden provided a good habitat and protection from predators, and it’s logical that they’d slowly die out anyways, but there’s no explanation of any specific factors that led to Loosha being the last.
Beasley is not a bee I wrote a post about this one as well, but TL;DR Beasly lacks several defining bee traits whilst having several human ones. He is not human, yet, by definition, not a bee. It’s possible that he is the result of Dimitri’s testing, but whatever his untold story is, he remains an enigma of nature. https://cayenne-twilight.tumblr.com/post/632381715250282496/theory-beasly-isnt-a-bee
Subject 2’s identity is currently unknown. There is a subject one (parrot) and subject 3 (rabbit) so there has to be a second. For a long time, people suspected Beasly to be him seeing as he’s a bit of an amalgamation and definitely not a regular bee (see above). After the release of LMJ, though, people began to suspect Sherl, the intelligent hound who could speak to certain people but not others. That being said, it’s possible for one to be subject 4. Sherl’s memory of a bright flash matches up with subject 3’s memory of being electrocuted. They never explain why the animals were being experimented on, but it was probably Dimitri making sure the conditions of his machine were safe for humans before reliving the incident from ten years ago.
Lady Violet died from the plague from DB. There’s no evidence for this or anything, it’s just an idea. People say she died from the flu but I don’t remember them saying that in the game, at least the US version. Extending off my “no war” theory: it’s theorized that the Spanish Flu was spread by the travlelling soldiers, so if that’s true, it’s possible for the epidemic to have been averted for some decades. Maybe the Spanish Flu reached England later than in real life. The hole in this is that DB’s plague must’ve been close in time to 1918 while Violet’s death was much later, so it would’ve had to stick around.
Bill Hawks is working with Targent and Arthur Cantabella. There was a force in the shadows buying the time machine technology from Bill. Someone with a ton of money who helped him cover up a freak accident and get away with it completely, a feat that involved shady means like violence by hired thugs. Some theorize that it was Targent, seeking power over time in exchange for a little mafia magic. The Labarynthia project was sponsored by the UK government, so as the PM, Bill must’ve known about it. He probably supported dubiously ethical, high stakes (witch pun) psychological experiments like Cantabella’s and helped him stay in the shadows.
All the NPCs in St. Mystere and Folsense are dead. I make fun of this type of theory later, but they’re admittedly captivating. I’m pretty sure the canon in CV is that the villagers are Bruno and Augustus’s OCs that they made robots of and built a town around, but it’s more interesting to think that the village was there before, and the townspeople died of a plague and were replaced like Lady Violet. In Folsense, there really was a plague and they never explain the NPCs there. They’re either real people who appear way younger than they are due to hallucinations (even the ones who already look old ?), or they don’t exist at all, which is pretty spooky. This part of the story is a gaping plot hole. In a similar vein to CV, the edgy yet plausible theory is that they used to live in Folsense but died of the plague and now live on as hallucinations.
Hershel seeing everything as a puzzle is a coping mechanism for all his trauma. This was a joke but I thought about it for more than five seconds and it makes way too much sense.
Plot holes and unexplained questions that we like to overthink because it’s fun
The downfall of the Azran was vaguely explained in canon by people being so greedy that it lead to the civilization collapsing. It’s not a stretch to imagine that happening, but it would’ve been more interesting with a little more detail.
Layton and Luke are programmed to routinely forget how to walk. I didn’t know whether to list this in the joke section or not, but it’s odd that the characters actively participate in the walking tutorial (as opposed to showing a little memo to the player) as if they didn’t know how to before, especially when they go through this several times a year.
The truth behind Pavel. He’s simply a joke character who teleports, is a polyglot (sort of, at least he wants us to think he is) and is mega confused all the time. He’s a fun character to make crack theories about because of his cryptic nature that even he doesn’t seem to understand.
Miracle Mask deleted scenes. The first trailer for MM featured animations that were not in the final game. One was the Randall falling scene, except in a slightly different style than the one we know. Others were completely foreign, like Layton and Luke pacing across a theatre stage as if Layton’s about to expose someone with a dramatic point. Cut content and “could’ve beens” are always curious to think about.
Evan Barde: secret mastermind. Arianna and Tony’s dad is a mysterious character who died under mysterious circumstances. I think the canon is that his death was a genuine accident, but concept art of him making a creepy evil face suggests that maybe he originally had a larger role in the first drafts of LS than the finished game.
The secret to how Paul and Des pull off their disguises is unclear and will remain unclear. There is no plausible explanation for their shape shifting. Unless Paul is just a little dude wearing a human suit like that one Wizard of Oz species and Des is the best quick-changer ever and hides his naturally feminine legs under his cloak.
Alfendi’s mom. When LBMR came out people scrambled to piece together who Hershel had a kid with, but there’s no way alfendi is his biological son. This happened with Kat as well and her biological parents turned out to be brand new characters, so I’m sure Al will get an adoption backstory if his arc continues, be his parents old major characters or nameless, faceless NPCs.
Granny Riddleton and Stachenscarfen are omnipotent deities. Idk which section this fits best under, but these two characters have some serious power. At first introduction, they’re implied to be robots, but they appear everywhere in later games. They follow the Professor wherever he goes and assist him on his adventures, GR collecting puzzles and housing them by some odd magic, and Stachen teaches you how to walk. They both introduce and supervise the gameplay. By extension, I guess this idea could apply to Albus as well in the prequels. GR and Stachen even had the power to appear in LMJ, something no major character could do. I consider them akin to the velvet room attendants from the Persona games.
Clive’s kill count is a vague subject in the game for the sake of keeping it PG. I don’t know if anyone’s ever mathematically estimated the damage he caused, and I sure don’t want to try, but the game appears to push the idea that he didn’t kill anyone at all, saying they stopped him in the nick of time and things like that, even though we watch him raze the city. If they ever want to bring him back post-time skip, I can see them twisting it so that the mobile fortress cutscene wasn’t a linear sequence of events, but instead a compilation of scenes over the course of hours so that London neighborhoods around him could be evacuated and have it make sense. Knowing Level-5, it’s more likely that they wouldn’t think this deep and do something more lazy, though.
Memes and references
Post-time skip Flora is real references the famous L is real theory from Super Mario 64. Like Luigi in SM64, Flora was also a highly anticipated character who didn’t appear in a new game, in this case LMJ or LMDA. In the end, Luigi did become real in the DS port so hopefully Flora is real will be realized as well.
Hershel can’t read is a veteran fandom meme referring to how in the first few games, especially Curious Village, Layton asks Luke to read every document out loud for him. Perhaps this was an exercise to improve Luke’s reading skills and independent thinking, or perhaps he was just too lazy or preoccupied to do it himself, but this grew into the joke that our genius Professor was actually illiterate this whole time.
Layton’s smash invitation is hidden in PLvsAA. It’s no secret that the fandom would kill a man to get the Professor into the smash brothers franchise. In PLvsAA one of the puzzle artworks features a goat eating a familiar white envelope with a red stamp, sparking the joke that either Layton or Wright got the invitation their respective fans desired, but it got lost along the way.
The science board is the mysteriously vague organization Don Paolo got kicked out of for the crime of being evil. It’s the epitome of liberal arts majors and art school graduates trying to bs their way around not knowing any science and failing miserably. “He was very good at all the sciences, but then the CEO of science told him to stop because he was using the power of science for evil science”. They do this again when “Dr. Stahngun” describes his time machine what with the soolha coils and whatnot.
Hoogland is death cult initiation is a parody of “Mario 64 is Freemason initiation” which is ridiculous, just like the creepy human sacrifice subplot of AL.
You can see the reflection of someone watching you in Aurora’s eye references the famous, creepy Talking Angela theory. In retrospect it would’ve been funnier if I said Angela instead of Aurora.
Every copy of Professor Layton is personalized references the famous “every copy of Super Mario 64 is personalized”
Clive’s fat ass in HD is a meme that originated from the announcement of UFHD, saying that half of the excited fans wanted to cry again while the other half were simply attracted to Clive. If we want to enter real bottom-section-of-the-iceberg-chart territory then let’s say Clive’s character has some sort of psychological siren properties that draw people to him like a magnet and/or Harry Styles.
Things I pulled out of my ass for shits and giggles
Infinite hint coin hack: I’m sure a tech savvy cheater could hack the game for infinite hint coins, but there’s no easy or interesting way. I don’t know why someone would do that though, considering a lot of the hints suck and there are puzzle guides on the internet.
Cringy, unused Randall villain monologue. This joke is derived from the actual scrapped MM content as well as deleted content being a popular element of iceberg charts, but it’s sadly not real. Would’ve been hilarious, though.
Last Specter Puzzle 031: Light Height tracks and records children’s intelligence level. It doesn’t, but it’s always fun to make fun of arguably THE most ridiculously difficult puzzle in the franchise. (Seriously, do they expect 7+ year olds to know trigonometry???)
Hershel struggles with tea addiction. Hershel from the games drinks tea in moderation, but the manga begs to differ. He has a tea set in the Laytonmobile, and an attempt at teatime while driving causes him to crash.
Folsense is a metaphor for Alzheimer’s. This is inspired by those edgy kids’ show theories where everyone’s in hell or something, but nobody has ever said this.
London Life is reality and the plot of the games is all in Luke’s head. That’s one way to fill every plot hole. How funny would it be if Luke made up crazy characters and stories based off his fellow townspeople Sharkboy and Lavagirl style. “This dude who lives in a castle and asks people to give him all their money for nothing in return is a vampire from 50 years ago involved in a tragic love story”.
Secret ending encoded into Tago’s Head Gymnastics. It’d be crazy if there was, and Dimitri would hound Tago for the secret to time travel. If you didn’t know, the Layton games started as an adaption of Akira Tago’s puzzle series, except they decided to add a story to make it more interesting and marketable.
Daily puzzles datamine your DS. I’m bad with technology but is it even possible to datamine a DS??? Idk, but I think my DS lite from 2008 is safe.

Man i wish people gave me gems for no reason (at least im assiming it was for no reaso since you only said its because you were chill) but om curiose how it happened since being given a gem for free is a big deal in this fandom as it never happens in any other fabdom (being givem ocs )
I don't feel like sharing screenshots of how it happened but their reason was:
"I just made it for you i mean you talk really nice with people"
I've been blessed by an omnipotent creature

non-writer: why do you think that your ocs would automatically dislike you if you met in person. surely the fact that you created them means you have things in common to get along?
me, staring off into the distance with blank, unseeing eyes: I have created these fictional people, breathed life into them, and sent them off into a fictional landscape where the price of their existence is exacted on them by the ravening plot as it demands conflict to fuel itself. their very creation and becoming is tied inextricably to the same plot that feeds on them so relentlessly, and they in turn grow and change as a result. they exist in symbiosis with this beast and I, the creator of all they have ever known, subject them to whatever I wish based on my flights of fancy and aesthetic preferences. to face me would be to face the omnipotent being who has dictated their lives like rats in a maze, unseen, always pulling the strings. to face me would be to face their worst fears. they would have to face themselves, and so would I.

me: basically I can make them fuck or fuck them up and they can't do shit to stop me. I'd be pretty hacked off at me if I were in their shoes
