I've been scrolling through your blog, and I saw your post about discussing the racialized nature of gender. As someone who has several transmasc POC friends, and someone who's a nonbinary POC themself, I wanted to give my 2 cents.

It's important to understand that "woman" in the "man vs woman" gender binary is a colonialist, white supremacist construct, especially in Western countries where you are the numerical minority. My trans friends aren't on T, they haven't gotten top surgery, we are all quite young. But they all have numerous stories about being addressed as "sir" which brings them euphoria but as one person said, while we were making fun of the amount of white people in our club, "Due to my race and skin color, I get masculinized."

And again I'd like to emphasize, that since we're young, none of us really have medically transitioned due to financial and familial barriers. Their hair is long, our binders we definitely have notable chests, and even if they dress masculine, it's notable that no one in our communities would ever gender us properly. It's often white people calling them "sir." Again, I think this reflects how gender performances in mainstream queer communities are deeply White. Like, trans boys talk about having haircuts, but only one of my friends has that wavier, more manageable hair that will help them pass. When you've got curly/kinky hair, the standards are different. For a white person, what's the difference between a "girl" Afro and a boy "Afro"? White cis people have a harder time identifying us, and literally talk to any black girl, and they'll tell you about being mocked, dehumanized, and called "manly".

I don't have much else to say. These are just my personal experiences. But if you want to be an ally to POC in the queer community, this is why it's so fucking important to bring in colonialism/imperialism/white supremacy into discussions of queer liberation. My biggest gripe with ignorant white queers is when they ignore their white privilege, and act like "cishets" (AKA the patriarchal system regulating sexuality and gender) is the only enemy. Because cishet POC deal with plenty of shit with being infantilized, masculinized, feminized, seen as brutish & dangerous, the list goes on. Doberbutts had a post saying, "Believe me, your family's going to care more about me being black than my queerness." towards his white partners. Acknowledging and creating a framework that centers these intersections of queerness and race into your beliefs is true allyship. This is why if you're not anti-imperialist, anti-capitalist, ACAB...I do not think you care for queer liberation. None of us are free until all of us are free.

Please don't view this post as an attack. But this is my perspective, and I thought you'd be receptive to me sharing my lived experiences.

Oh I absolutely don't view this ask as an attack, and I really appreciate you bringing these things up because you're right! Like, just very plainly: You are right and your and your friends lived experiences are extremely important to the conversation on the racialized aspects of gender.

It gets me thinking about where Misogynoir and the social White Fear of Black manhood intersect for Black trans men in particular. Because Black women and Women of Color in general are masculinized by White gender standards and the ways in which Black trans masculine people are gendered in alignment with their identity is absolutely not always done with gender affirming intent. In fact, it's often actually done with racist intent or is fueled by racist bias when it's coming from White people or even from non-Black POC.

That's kind of restating things you've said but differently, it's just such a topic worth highlighting explicitly since it's extremely relevant to the conversation that's been happening about Male Privilege here the last few days.

I do think I know exactly what @doberbutts post you're talking about and yeah. It's just truth. It's something Black queer people have been talking about for ages in both theory and in pop culture (my mind immediately goes to Kevin Abstract and "American Boyfriend") where Black queer/trans identity is both materially different from (neutral) and is treated differently from (negative) White queer/trans identity in multitudes of ways and those differences are worth sharing and exploring and talking about.

Genuinely, thank you for sharing! I try really hard not to lead these kinds of conversations outside of explicitly referencing back to non-White theorists because I don't particularly feel like it's my place to do so, but I will always provide a platform for them because they're extremely important conversations to be had.

The difference between lesbians and trans women in female spaces is the fact that lesbians do not have high rates of violence. There is no group of women that outclass men in terms of violent tendencies. Trans women retain the rates of male violence that regular men do. I'm not saying you have to treat trans women like they're all violent beasts, but if you can't see why female people would be uncomfortable with male people in their spaces, you're either naive or genuinely unsympathetic towards the very real fear that women have of being subjected to male violence. You can't say trans women and lesbians are similar because, unlike males, there is no statistical evidence that lesbians are highly likely to take advantage of a woman. If it turned out that 98% of rapes were committed by lesbians, I would 1000% understand why straight women don't fucking want to be around me. Have some fucking empathy, holy fucking shit. Even if you are completely on board with trans women being in female spaces, at LEAST acknowledge that it makes sense for women to be concerned about who is allowed in their spaces. It's crazy how I could tell someone I have a fear of dogs because one bit me when I was a kid, and they'd put their sweet pooch up, but God forbid a woman be cautious around a demographic who commit 90% of all violent crime. Oh no. That woman is suddenly a terf bitch.

I have nothing in common with trans women. I don't care how much pain they have experienced. We are not the same. When I was twelve, I cried and I cried as I put my palms together to pray to a God I hoped would be able to take away my homosexuality. I didn't even grow up in a particularly homophobic family. Both of my parents were accepting of me, but I still sat in the dark of my room, tears streaming down my face, as I prayed to have my sexuality changed.

Two years later, one of my friends made a joke about me dressing to impress my crush. She said my crushes name---a feminine name. A girl sitting in earshot heard her, turned to me, and asked me with disgust if I was gay. I said no without even thinking about it. It absolutely did not help that we were in a locker room with other girls. I was aware of my sexuality by that point, but I was 14 and unable to hold my own against a girl looking at me like THAT. For a few weeks after that, that girl made comments about how she was "watching me".

I know pain, I know discomfort, I know what it's like to feel predatory. Seeing feminine women, especially if they're white, makes me feel like an alien. I look at them and think "how are we so different? I see none of myself in you."

Sometimes I'm right. Sometimes we're not similar at all. But guess what? That doesn't mean I'm similar to a straight male. Fucking hell, sometimes I'm not similar to other lesbians. That's completely normal. I think OP needs to read better work by cishet women. If you think that there is not a single piece of cishet female writing that can move you more than something written by a male, you're not looking in the right places at all. I don't understand why some LB women seem to think that the very act of someone being a straight woman makes them incapable of relatability. Of course it makes sense for you to be cautious. Lesbians deal with a lot of alienation and predatory feelings, but if the very ACT of a woman being cis and straight makes you feel like she has absolutely nothing in common with you...? The issue lies with you. YOU are the one othering THEM. Not the other way around. You're the one who has decided that a few cis straight women othering you means that they ALL will so you'd better beat them to the punch. You're the one who has decided that your relationship to womanhood is so astronomically different from straight women that nothing they say speaks to you. That's INSANE. I told my discord server that I was nervous about my future roommates. I showed them photos and someone said "all this tells me is that they're feminine and white" and I literally think about that all of the time. I was projecting. I was so scared that these white, feminine, probably straight women were going to judge me for being a black lesbian that I didn't even realize that I was the one violently judging them based off of nothing but their skin color and their femininity. I knew nothing about them. I STILL know nothing about them. I've barely spoken to them. But already I had labeled them as unrelatable judgemental women because of how they looked. Hold on. Wasn't I the one afraid of them judging ME? How could I be so afraid of them judging me for being a black lesbian when I was the one judging them already? What sense does that make?

You guys are so busy writing off cis straight women as unrelatable bigots that you've failed to see that you're the one who is extremely prejudiced against them. And I absolutely fucking know someone is gonna read this and say "well, you can't say that all trans women have male violence patterns and dahdahdahdah" and it's like. But YOU can say that cis straight women are so unbelievably different from lesbian women that you'd rather say you're more similar to a straight up fucking male???

I'm not saying it's not a little jarring to see women who are so different from me. I'm not saying I haven't been burned before and there's no reason for me (or other lesbians) to be cautious. But I will literally ALWAYS have more in common with cishet women than I ever will a man pretending to be a woman.

One time I had a professor. She was on the older side (I'd say 40's) and white. Not the type of person I'd think I'd click well with. She was straight and married with children. One day we talked after class, and the only thing that ended our conversation was the fact she had an event she had to go to. We would've talked longer if not for that. She emailed me a little while later to tell me that she enjoyed our chat. After that, she actually hugged me on two occasions. You wouldn't think we'd have common ground. An older, straight, married white mother and a young black lesbian. Both of us are "cis" but I can tell you I relate to her much better than I ever could someone born male.

I once had a personal trainer who was a feminine woman. She had acrylic nails and everything. One time she said that she couldn't hug her male friends anymore because she had a boyfriend (he wasn't the one enforcing that rule. That was something she personally felt). Also not someone I thought I'd click well with. But we did. One time we had a really productive discussion that was actually derived from the conversation with my professor. I felt very close to her in that moment. Our conversation came to a close because she had another client, but I still think about that convo.

There have been so many fucking times where I thought "this woman is not like me. Look at her." But what I realized was that I was the judgmental one. I was the one deciding we were different, not her. I was the one writing her off. I was the one convinced we had nothing in common.

I am BEGGING you not to alienate your fellow women. There are no inherent traits that make you unable to relate to other women. No amount of whiteness or cisness or straightness can make a woman completely unreachable. I am NOT talking about political parties or views so don't fucking try me with that shit. Obviously that puts a wedge between people, but someone simply being born cis and het does not make them alien from you. For God's sake, look at the fucking MeToo movement. Women from all fucking backgrounds who share an experience that an unfortunate amount of women go through. Women from all different races, sexualities, etc. who came together to talk about how they've been subjected to sexual violence. Ellen degeneres was one of them. How does that fit into your "lesbians and cishet women cannot relate to each other" spiel?

part of the planning for this of course involves taking out to attend pride parades up in belobog

the first few minutes of being in the crowd, seele is a little nervous about all the people and the fact she can't move around too easily. but she gets used to it pretty quickly

she has the best reflexes out of everyone in the crowd and manages to catch every single freebie thrown off of the floats. she brings them back to distribute among the kids in the underground.

SECOND OF ALL, let's assume that your headcanon is true (i haven't speak of the fact that its basic fandom etiquette to treat headcanon as something personal and not universal and don't harass other people over unharmful difference in opinion). Let's say, Integra is a lesbian, which is a headcanon. Did we collectively forget Alucard is canonically genderfluid? Yet you're referring to Alucard/Integra as a "cishet" ship? Does a queer person get stripped of their queer identity when they participate in a relationship that is male/female presenting? I thought we are about "queer rep"??? How convenient it is to deem him a cis het man and headcanon Integra as a lesbian to make the shippers look bad. Oh, and on the way of watering down queer identity into a caricature, you are also claiming ace people cannot have sex and it's disrespectful to depict ace people having romantic/sexual relationship. As if asexuality isn't a spectrum ranging from "little to no attraction" and the definition of sexual interaction is very loose, especially for queer people. Do you even care about queer people at this point?

Background: The Batch returns to Pabu with Crosshair in tow. How will he adapt?

The reader (main character) from Cup Of Caf is mentioned. This story is from the point of view of The Batch and Crosshair.

(My OC Maadienne "Mad Momma" Dax makes an appearance as Hunter's love interest. Since this story takes place in an alternate universe from "Vagabonds", Love, Sil, and Tiggy do not make an appearance.)

The Havoc Marauder skimmed over the jewel toned waters of Pabu. Echo was at the controls, humming to himself. The only other sound than Wrecker snoring from the seat behind him. Omega had been snuggled up in his arms securely but lovingly after the escape from Mt Tantiss. When Wrecker had passed out, she climbed into the copilot's seat next to Echo. He occasionally smiled and stroked her hair. 

Behind them sat Crosshair with Hunter passed out in his lap, both brothers in embrace and sleeping. Hunter immediately fell into a deep sleep as soon as the Batch was out of harm’s way. Cross rested his cheek on the top of his shorter brother’s head and fell back asleep. Occasionally, Crosshair would awaken to make sure Hunter was still with him, give his brother a gentle squeeze...then drift off. Hunter sighed in his sleep and squeezed back.  

Phee Genoa trailed behind the Marauder in her ship. Tech rested on a stretcher next to her, holding hands, fingers intertwined. He babbled nonstop to Phee about everything: The mission to Mt Tantiss, his fall, his infiltration of Hemlock’s laboratory. She listened intently peppering in the occasional, “Mhmm” “Yeah” or “Oh Brown Eyes.” 

Both ships arrived at the island and touched down. Hunter awakened and sleepily stood. Omega hopped down and hugged Echo fiercely. 

“You’re staying with us...right?” Her large brown eyes pleading with him. 

“For a little while. At least until Rex needs me.”  

Omega squeezed Echo HARD and held on. He embraced her gently. 

Hunter stooped down and kissed the top of Omega's head then poked Wrecker awake. 

“Huh...uh...here SO SOON?” Wrecker stretched and cracked his back. 

“Been out for quite some time.” Hunter chuckled. “C’mon, let’s help Phee get Tech off her ship.” 

“Yep, I got it.” Wrecker stole a glance at Echo and Omega. He smiled then playfully smacked Crosshair on his shoulder. “Come check out your new home.” 

Crosshair refused to open his eyes. “I’m in no hurry.” He sneered at Wrecker as his brother exited the ship. 

Hunter glanced down at Crosshair. Cross opened one eye to stare back at Hunter. They both grinned at each other. Then Hunter followed Wrecker to Phee’s ship. 

She had yet to lower the gangplank for entry...which seemed strange. 

“Their heart rates are elevated. Hope everything is ok.” Hunter was concerned. 

“Here, step up.” Wrecker stooped down on one knee, allowing Hunter to step up. He grabbed Hunter’s feet and lifted him high enough to see into the ship’s cockpit. 

“OH!” Hunter gave a surprise gasp and chuckled... 

Phee and Tech were locked in a passionate embrace, neither one aware of Hunter peeping through the ship’s windscreen at them. 

“Bring me down, Wrecker.” 

Wrecker caught Hunter’s flushed face and burst out laughing, while dropping the sergeant to the ground. “WELL, IT’S ABOUT TIME!” 

Hunter cleared his throat...then felt a familiar presence behind him. He spun to face...Maadienne Dax. She was leaning against the Pabu Archium Tree and had been watching the whole interaction with a sly smile. 

“Hey Hunky.” 

Hunter was love-struck and relieved that she was still on Pabu and waited for him. He knew her restless nature. The Nomaadi never stayed in one place for too long.  

They tentatively stepped toward one another. Then swept up in an amorous embrace, gently rubbing noses, leaning in for a serious deep kiss, mouths parted. 

“Omega!” Lyana and a group of other children ran up to the ships. 

“Lyana!” Omega released Echo, jumped out of the Marauder to greet them.  

They mobbed past Shep who waved in greeting. “Hello Miss Omega. Relieved to have you back!” 

“You too, Shep! Sorry, gotta go!!!” as the children dragged her away towards the town. 

Shep stopped and met Wreckers gaze. “Hello to you, too.” 

Wrecker grinned from ear to ear and gently took Shep Hazard into his arms and lovingly kissed him. 

Crosshair and Echo watched all of this silently from the inside of the Marauder. There was a palpable yearning in the air. 

“You have someone here on this planet too?” 

Echo was taken aback that Crosshair would suddenly ask that type of question. 

“No...” Echo sighed longingly. “She’s back on Coruscant. Well, she’s not MINE per se...” He rubbed the back of his neck. “...a VERY close friend. You leave anyone behind...back there?” 

Crosshair’s expression changed to intense sorrow. Echo immediately regretted his inquiry. “Apologies. None of my business...” 

“Back on Barton IV...he didn’t survive The Empire.” 

“My condolences, friend.” Echo hesitated, then reached out to put his hand on Crosshair’s shoulder. 

Cross gazed up at Echo with moist eyes. “Thank you, Vod.” 

Phee eventually lowered the gangplank and engaged Tech’s hover stretcher to bring him out. Both wore flushed complexions with a twinkle in their eyes. Mad hugged Phee and was introduced to Tech. The women picked up where they left before the mission with an enthusiastic gaggle of conversation. Reunions with Wrecker and Echo commenced. Shep informed everyone a large dinner was waiting at his home on the patio, after everyone freshened up of course. 

Crosshair, being the last to exit the Marauder, timidly stepped out. He didn’t feel like part of the merry group and unsure how to make his entrance. He quietly stood and took in each interaction with his snipers calculating eye. Shep stepped up to Crosshair and offered his hand. 

“Finally get to meet the famous Crosshair. Glad to have you here on Pabu.” 

Crosshair nodded quietly but didn’t take Shep’s hand. Shep was a good sport about it, chuckled, shrugged, and followed up with, “Look forward to you joining us for dinner tonight.” before stepping away to reunite with Wrecker. 

Hunter put his hand on Shep’s arm “Don’t mind him. He’ll come around.” 

“Understandably he needs time. Most of the inhabitants here did when they first arrived too.” 

Dinner was lovely. 

Crosshair sat quietly and ate very little, while taking in the conversation around the table. He watched the happy faces of the couples and friends interacting with each other. The loudness, emotion, intensity of it all. 

His head hurt, heart ached, and yearned to escape it. Cross silently excused himself and sat alone on the patio overlooking the island. Hunter paused from his drinking, concerned.  

Echo leaned in, “I’ve got this. Enjoy your time with Mad.”  

Hunter nodded, still concerned, but snaked his arm around Mad and squeezed. She unconsciously reached up and caressed Hunter’s cheek while laughing at the table conversation. 

Echo poured two stiff after dinner drinks and took them to the patio. He settled into a seat next to Crosshair, handing him a cup. Cross nodded in thanks. They both sat silently nursing their drinks and watched the sun set over Pabu.

If u throw the term 'internalized misogyny' around so much it should not be hard for you to understand that women and even little girls are socially conditioned to reinforce the patriarchy, women are the guard dogs of the patriarchy actually. Like this is 101 shit to anyone that thinks they get to call themselves a 'feminist'. Little girls who are raised to believe that 'girls' should always be put together, not act up, obsessed with their looks, have to like pink and 'girly' stuff and its abnormal if they do not will often bully and ostraticize girls who dont conform or care about this type of social expectations and standards (depends on your environment, maybe you were lucky enough to not go to school with such girls, but it doesnt mean they dont exist). The Mechanisms:

Out-of-universe, the Mechanisms are a folk band of musicians playing fictional onstage personas, formerly the backing band of Dr. Carmilla before splitting off to become their own thing. In-universe, the Mechanisms are a band of immortal space pirates and their sapient ship Aurora roving through the multiverse, having adventures as well as causing general carnage and mayhem, in addition to occasionally writing music about their experiences and performing before a live (though not always for long), at times captive audience.

They are,,,, so chaotic. They are composed of, in order: a cannibalistic war criminal from Space Texas, the lost princess Anastasia Romanova from Cyborg Space Russia, her sapient starship girlfriend who used to be a moon for an alternate version of Earth before being kidnapped by Cyborg Space Russia, an arsonist gangster who burned down their entire planet, an archivist who is nice enough up until you damage her books (in which case RUN), a doctor who was repeatedly and separately convicted for heresy and witchcraft and currently pilots the ship, a wooden soldier that is Not Real, But Very Good At Pretending To Be, a war criminal from another version of Earth who blew up the moon, an amnesiac mecha pilot who is the ship's doctor and self-appointed psychiatrist despite NOT being qualified for either, and a severely unethical scientist who is perfectly willing to cause catastrophic international disasters if it gets her interesting results for her "experiments". Oh, and also a space ninja who visits sometimes. Not sure what her deal is.

What's more, they're chaotic evil. Because when you're immortal for long enough, you morals end up skewing so far outside of the box they're hardly even in the same galaxy anymore, because things get stale pretty quickly if you keep doing the same thing over and over again for tens of thousands of years and besides, tens of thousands of years is a long time to go through without experiencing some of the more exciting avenues life has to offer. Doesn't really help that a bunch of them weren't the best of people before becoming immortal either. As a result, what most people would call a string of horrific atrocities/mass destruction, the Mechanisms call a particularly interesting Tuesday. Among their canonical crimes include: destroying a sun, orchestrating the collapse of several civilizations, very armed robbery, brainwave piracy, terrorism, neuro-arson, unlicensed foul language, criminal enterprising, grand theft mecha, starting various cults, whatever 'aethercide' and 'grand theft aether' mean, as well as literally every single crime imaginable except for the sexual ones (specific to Jonny, who is implied to be aspec. he really might as well have been doing a completionist speedrun of that specific planet's constitution at the time). Also, none of them are cishet.

The thing is though, the thing is-- all of them are so unfathomably old. It's been thousands of years and they can't die, not even when they put a bullet between each others' eyes every so often to get some peace and bloody quiet. And ultimately they cannot die, not until the narrative has deemed their roles finished, because above all the Mechanisms act as witnesses to the universe and all the stories therein; sometimes watching passively, sometimes taking a decidedly active role, sometimes something in between. And ultimately, there is no one else in the multiverse who can understand them as much as each other -- how it feels to die and come back immortal, how it feels to be trapped by the whims of a primal force of nature, how it feels to grieve every time they're forced to send the mortals they've just gotten attached to off to die because it is their destiny, how the sameness and endlessness of it all wears them down and can drive them mad if they're not careful. In a world that is ever-changing and reinventing itself in impermanence, as countless stories across countless worlds spring from humble beginnings only to crash and burn in a thousand ways towards the end, they are each others' landmark, the place they return to whenever it's time to stop playing at gods or sovereigns or conquerors or prophets. They're unbelievable shitheads towards each other but they also care deeply, which is pretty remarkable considering Aurora can't go lightspeed so they have to travel through space the old-fashioned way. I mean, you try living on a ship with the same eight/nine people for centuries at a time as you travel between star systems? Insane, frankly.

Which is also why it absolutely crushes me that for all the time they've spent together, all of them inevitably end up dying alone.

oh my GODD macdennis..... okay. they've been flatmates for pretty much their entire adult lives. they're codependent losers. but also Mac is always following Dennis around like some kind of puppy dog and Dennis has come to resent him for it, in a way. see. Dennis has only ever known love as some kind of manipulation technique, so he's always manipulating Mac only to find that Mac is.... Not Like That. but also it's the most toxic relationship on the planet because they are allergic to communicating to each other

there are various thoughts about whether Mac and Dennis have had sex and/or when they started having sex. personally I don't think they've ever had normal sex, but they sure have been fucking for a good while. I mean, Dennis once controlled Mac's ass using anal beads and if that's not sex I don't know what is. the only circumstance I can possibly imagine them having had sex at this point is if Dennis does it out of sheer anger at Mac (because Dennis knows that Mac is in love with him, the ultimate act of manipulation and codependency would be to fuck him)

as for Dee? she has dated a few guys, but the way she talks about men is so mechanical it cannot be real attraction. she's insecure as hell on account of all the childhood trauma + on account of the gang constantly making fun of her. so I think to Dee, sex with men is a way of getting positive attention that she doesn't get from anywhere else. BUT. the woman is clearly so so in love with the waitress. I choose to believe they banged in the Boggs: Lady's Reboot episode, but they also may have banged in Who Pooped the Bed?. Dee is always so so angry at the waitress, and I definitely think part of this is that the waitress makes her feel things she doesn't want to feel, and it's starting to unravel her cishet outer layer

also this is by the by, but my partner and I also both prescribe to the idea that all of the Reynolds are trans and just forgot about it. Dee and Dennis swapped genders at some point in high school, and their parents were too neglectful to notice. Frank is also trans but he transitioned so long ago that he's also forgotten. it would make the whole "never having been involved in conception" thing make sense. none of that actually really fits with the canon of the show but it is a funny thing to think about

Honestly I struggled a lot with this one, because I keep reading about and thinking of different sexualities and saying to myself, "oh yeah that sounds like Near, but I don't think he'd identify as that."

See, I think Near would learn that people can be something other than cishet when someone older in the orphanage came out and then he'd go "OH." and dive into figuring out all the possibilities. He'd try a lot of labels during that time, and eventually realise none of them quite fit. But cishet doesn't fit either.

So he probably just settles for the umbrella term of "queer."

I was going to say "and he's arospec" but after thinking about it for a moment I realised I think he'd actually fall in silly dopey crushes quite easily. He isolates himself from people his own age because he becomes attached too easily, y'know?

Instead of death of the author, how about death of the fan(on)? This is tongue in cheek btw. Take it with a grain of humour. I read a lot of LGBT stories in recent times, especially canon same-gender couples. We already covered the topic, but stuff like top/bottom vs switch, or masc/femme/gnc-categories and people being against what they claim is heteronormative, or just don't like in terms of queer rep.

In the fandom corners I've been some people are really weird about eg M/M dynamics that are top/bottom for example. It's the easiest one to talk about without needing to be into fandom, and there's already been a cover of this topic here so I think people already come decently prepared.

So parts of the louder fandom is very set on trying to make them switches, even though canon is pretty clear about the fact that they are just top/bottom. No problem, we have our preferences. Where a problem happens, is when these people take canon and only pick like random quips, references or other small sections to build the entire argument of "THEY ARE SWITCHES", and then treat it as canon, at the same time disavow actual canon. Basically they're cherry picking canon to create their fanon, then call it canon above the actual canon. So at the same time they ignore the very same canon that does very clearly and openly show them as top/bottom, and much more in your face and even claim people are variations of homophobic/heteronormative for preferring the (canon) dynamic of top/bottom.

Add on weak logic for fanon and ignoring canon, since it's often a difference between "them being switches is canon because the MC asked to switch their dinner plates" vs straight up "MC said he only likes being bummed up the bum."

Now death of the fan(on) could be when you see a fanon being treated as the canon, but the actual source story supports basically none of it. When you basically just ignore the cherry picked fanon, because neither the story, nor the intent within the story supports any of it. You're saying this fanon is actually canon or asking if I've even read the book?* Sorry death of the fanon, but I did not catch any hint of that when actually reading the book. If I gotta know fanon to catch it, then your intent to claim it as canon just really didn't translate into it. Your fan-intent when creating that fanon is just too weak for me to find any strong proof of it when reading, especially when the canon is constantly rubbing in my face over your claimed fanon. Oh your intent with the fanon was to fight heteronormativity? Sorry but your fanon actually reads as you being conditioned towards cishet-normativity because you try to ascribe a heteronormativity to canon queer characters in a very much gay relationship. Sorry but your intent with this fanon is just so weak I gotta call death of the fanon on that one. *actual question I got after talking about a canon part of the book because it went against fanon.

lol anyway, this is just a bit of tongue in cheek, and just to vent a bit of my frustration with certain fanons trying to erase canon, but still use that very same canon to prop up their fanon above the canon.
