My forbidden fruit is this tantalizing unopened box of 1989 baseball cards with the description "22 stickers and 132 cards".

If it weren't for this wretched plastic wrap that stood between us...

(Context: my dad is currently sorting through his baseball card collection and trying to sell them. This one is worth more unopened so I can't open it, not even to acquire some beautiful vintage stickers. The world is cruel.)

Opening Jonathan's journal has made me think of how Mina talks about herself when she decides to prank Van Helsing. She says she "could not resist the temptation of mystifying" him. She gave in to the temptation and did it. Then she proceeded to compare herself to Eve having bitten the forbidden fruit.

The journal itself could be seen as a forbidden fruit of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

But it's dangerous, the shock of the knowledge could kill you, or your loved one! But it will open your eyes.

Mina compares herself to Eve, but no one tempted her to bite into the terrible knowledge, it was her own will, fulfilling her husband's trust. She shared that fruit with the wise Van Helsing who asked her to, and this way their eyes were opened.

My favourite media (animanga, tv series and danmei) are black butler, akatsuki no yona, merlin, gintama, mo dao zu shi, tian guan ci fu, pandora hearts, dungeon meshi, attack on titan, vanitas no carte (+jujutsu kaisen and fruits basket)

I don't really have specific motivations, I like media that know how to entertain me.

i DESPERATELY NEED. a book or study about how ancient religions influenced early abrahamic religions and how there are (or IF there are) traces of these ancient religions which still exist in them today. like I know Judaism came from ancient Semitic polytheism, which was influenced by hellenism, ancient Egyptian religion, mesopotamian religion, canaanite religion etc etc ... but there r very obvious parts of modern Christianity that r inspired or drawn from ancient polytheistic religions I NEED like an in-depth discussion about this
