My Personal Wheel of the Year: Part One:
This is my personal wheel of the year, and has absolutely nothing to do with the Wiccan version. I’ve always been fascinated with the Wiccan calendar, but none of it ever truly resonated with me, as I wanted something that was very personal to me, and something I could be comfortable doing for a whole entire month, and not for just a few days.
For me, if I’m celebrating or appreciating something, it won’t just be for a couple of days, it will be for the whole entire month, because for me, nature deserves to be appreciated every single day, and I want to be able to have plenty of time to find multiple ways to celebrate and appreciate everything.
It also makes me feel less anxious, as I never felt comfortable with the idea of trying to quickly find ways to celebrate a holiday for just one or two days, or even a week. That didn’t work for me at all, and it only made me stress out over what to do, how to do this and that, and if it was perfect or not. And the thing is, holidays should be enjoyable, not stressful or dreadful.
So here is Part One of My Personal Wheel of the Year that I am very, very proud of:
The first one is 🌤️Conception🌤️, which takes place during the whole month of January. It focuses on renewal and cleansing and preparing yourself for the months to come within the new year ahead. And the most sacred part of the day is morning time, as it represents new years, new days, new beginnings, new everything.
It is also a time where the cold and the ice slowly melts away as we await the birth of nature which comes soon. The birthing of new life.
This is a very quiet and tranquil month. Everything is slowly, but surely, coming back to life.
The Colors I personally associate with Conception are light colors, greens, blues, browns, yellows, turquoise, white and clear. Light colors to represent the softness of the mornings, and the renewal of life, greens, blues, browns and yellows to represent greenery, blue skies, wood, dirt, soil, and mud, and turquoise to represent the sea. And white to represent the clouds in the sky, and clear snd turquoise to represent water. Another color associated is yellow for the morning sun.
• The Deities associated with Conception are: Gaia, Flora, and Pan.
• Some of the Foods I associate with Conception are: Water, cucumbers, cranberries, watermelon, kiwi, milk and flavored milk, baked goods such as grilled cheese, buttery toast, toast with jams and jellies. For fertility, cleansing, healing, stability, comfort, love, etc.
• A few Flowers I associate with Conception are: Carnations, lilacs, peonies, meadowsweets, begonias, daffodils, sunflowers, etc. For hope, positivity, comfort, healing, softness, love, etc.
• Other Plants are leaves, twigs, branches, rocks, pebbles, and flowers buds.
• Some things to do for Conception are:
- Cleansing yourself to start off the new year.
- Write down the things you plan on doing.
- Write down what you’re grateful for and hopeful for.
- Do some cleaning and rearranging.
- Contemplate life and the new year ahead.
- Meditate.
- Watch the sunrise and appreciate the mornings.
- Stand under the warm sunlight and feel it cleansing you and comforting you.
- Open up a window and let the fresh air in, or stand before the window and observe the nature before you.
- Play music that you find calming and/or cleansing.
- Light some delicate incense and inhale and exhale to renew oneself and the environment around you.
- Light candles to represent the return of the sunlight and its warmth.
- Observe the melting of winter as death finally leaves us, and we journey back into life, warmth, and sunshine.
- Dress yourself in the colors and items corresponding with Conception.
- Decorate your altar with the colors and items of Conception.
- Make art with the colors and items of Conception.

i'm gonna make my painful contribution to The Discourse and say i do not see the harm in women reclaiming female centric spirituality.
i am not a religious person nor do i want to become one but spirituality is also about culture, community and celebration. i would much rather women celebrate nature, the female form, and "divine femininity" than patriarchal phallocentric religions. that "divine femininity" is used pejoratively has always tickled me considering we live in a world hooked on divine masculinity. the old matricentric religions are really the only form of female culture devoid of male-centric worship we can grasp at, since men have dominated our belief systems for thousands of years. and women learning about the old religions is the best way to unravel the myth of the male creator, and realise it is really women who are the closest thing to a "god" on Earth.
there's also an element here, which i think is deeply capitalist, patriarchal, and a little racist, of people considering the connection to & celebration of nature as somehow primitive. i think that the lifestyles most of us live now, with none of us knowing anything about the land around us is actually very infantile and regressive for humanity as a whole. the ways of life we consider "primitive" (primitive communism, matrilineal societies) are really what we need to find ways to return to post-capitalism. they were in tune to nature, sustainable, and much more communal & equal. how can nature be primitive or ascientific when science *is* in nature, and the practices of these old societies were early scientific discoveries & practices. as a Black person, my community is often trying to reclaim our lost practices. it makes sense to me that women would try to do so too.

I can't do much productively during the heat wave/health issue flare up/etc. like work on my games or anything where I have to sit at the computer/type for long periods of time, BUT.. I did passively sculpt a few tiny foods lol. I wanted to do one of my bigger usual sculptures, but those take so much more time and concentration, I thought something small just to keep my hands busy would be better.. close up photos look kind of weird and blurry from my camera settings or something, but overall they came out okay, especially in person.. Nearly the only reason I ever wanted to buy dolls as a kid was to get my hands on the miniature foods and plates and stuff that came with them, I've always just been obsessed with small versions of things like that, so.. why not make some! lol
#sculpture#ooops.. i could have posted this on the art blog but I forgor and do not feel like reuploading everything#into a new drafted post on a whole other blog.. not in this heat.. i have no patience lol#items are: tomato. asparagus. a four leaf clover (not food lol). some sort of folded bun or dumpling with meat inside (not based on#anything specific. I just wanted to fold a flat sheet of clay into a shape). pomegranate. cheese wheel. lemon slice. some sort of mushroom.#fish (not a real one. just made up. if it looks like any specific fish that'd be interesting). and fig.#I haven't been able to get many avocaodo pits to carve again. so sculpting. then is good for a tiny craft#WISH I COULD DO COSTUMES OR SOMETHING.. i have some pikced out. bundles of clothes laying on the floor of the closet#but GODS even before the heat wave it's just been so warm.. I know.. it's the summer. of course it's warm#but WHYYYyy............. what if it just snowed all year around and was awesome and beautiful and i was so cold and could wear 25 blankets#at all times.. what about THAT hmm?? .. the ideal..#anyway.. my favorite is the pomegranate and the mushroom maybe#The fig is hard because in the pictures of figs I googled a lot of them have that sort of white powdery type of thing on the outside#that grapes and plums and stuff have sometimes and it's hard to convey that weird like.. sheen.. plus the purple with almost powdery blue#and little lighter specks plus streaks of light green and a little orangey on some of them.#It's okay in person I think but this doesnt show up as much in pictures. The cheese also looks betterin person than images. you can't tell#the slight shine in the pictures lol. but the pomegranates look cool and also photograph decent.. hmm#I should have made toast with an egg on it or something. that would be a nice addition#OH ALSO ASPARAGUS MY BELOVED.. though they look a little wonky. the cuticle pusher tool that I sculpt with in leiu of any actual sculpting#tools has a kind of triangle edge that was suite for the little leaf details of the asparagus so that was cool. its like..ALMOST right lol

today we took down our Samhain altar...
Tumblr media
...and put up our Yule altar!
Tumblr media
my favorite thing about the altar in the community house is watching as things get added to it all the time. we leave a lot of space when we set it up but by the time we take it down it's crammed with offerings!
blessed Yule!

also before anyone comes for me via my big ramble:
"other island inhabitants should maybe just maybe take tubbos age into consideration when interacting with him, especially the older / immortal island inhabitants" and "they shouldn't just infantize / write tubbo off as an annoying and/or stupid kid that needs to be put up with/babysat" are two things that can coexist

In Honor of the Fall
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On September 29, the traditional date of Michaelmas, I decided to have a celebration—but not in honor of the angels defeating their rebellious kin. Rather, it was a celebration in honor of Lucifer, both grieving his fall from perfect beauty and grace and celebrating that he now is among us, along with all that entails, guiding us to this day.
My understanding of the Divine keeps growing year after year, and Lucifer seems to become more and more central to my practice as time goes by. Exactly who he is and how I view him is complicated, and personal too… but if I have to summarize, I approach and honor him from a pagan perspective, but his significance in Christian mythology cannot be denied and is also important to me. He is, all at once, a rebel, a beautiful God of Light, the wild and untamed Horned God, the Prometheus who shares everything he is with us mortals, and the keeper of the pathways between this world and the next. He is enlightened and full of love and kindness, but is also like a wild beast—unpredictable and not always soft or gentle.
I love him dearly.
(Note that I also follow and honor the Goddess still; her relationship to Lucifer is equally complex and meaningful to me. Also, while I do consider myself a theistic Luciferian, I don’t 100% prescribe to the mindset that usually describes, nor do I think I’m much for the LHP otherwise, lol.)
I was happy I got to spend time with him, as well as fully share this aspect of my practice with my husband. I was happy they were super supportive, understanding, and even enthusiastic to share in this celebration with me.
Blessed be, my Beloved Morningstar. The Goddess and I honor and love you this time of the year.
(Pictured: my ever-changing holiday altar, as well as the blackberry cobbler I made for dessert—made sure to eat it after midnight to be especially rebellious!)

My Personal Wheel of the Year: Part Three:
🌱🌸Birth🌸🌱, the third month, which takes place during the 20th of March all the way to the 20th of June.
These months focus on the birthing of spring as it finally arrives. It is the growth of nature. Of life. Of vibrancy. Of fertility.
Everything is coming back from the dead, or being born for the first time ever. Babies are here, animals running rampant and experiencing all of the wonderful things in the world, plants are flourishing with the warmth of the sunlight, and the refreshing taste of water to help them grow to their full potential, and life is fresh and springing with absolute joy.
This is a very special time for me, as I am always connected to nature, and always have been since I was a very small child. I always loved wandering around and observing all of the greenery around me, as well as the blue sky above, and the thick, white clouds, and most of all the beautiful, warm sun. I also had, and still have, a very imaginative mind and fantasized about the different worlds beyond this one, and had a very spiritual connection to this earth, and everything else beyond it.
It is a special time to learn more about nature and what it has to offer, and to take care of it as well as one can. And to remind ourselves that we wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the earth. For the earth births us and provides for us. Always.
• The beautiful Colors that I associate with Birth are: Greens, yellows, rainbow, bright colors, and glitter. Green for the beautiful flourishing nature, yellow for the bright sun which warms the earth and provides healing, rainbow for the rainbows of nature, and the happiness and hope that comes along with them, bright colors for the vibrancy, and glitter to represent happiness, as well as the sun rays which dance upon the clear waters of lakes, rivers, oceans, and anywhere else that has water.
• The Deities I associate with Birth are: Gaia, Flora, and Pan!!!
• The lovely Foods I associate with Birth are: Apples, pears, plums, prunes, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, bananas, mandarines and other oranges, cherries, grapes, raisins, onions, peas, tomatoes, garlic, mushrooms, lettuce, eggs, milk, butter, etc, and drinks symbolizing blood, aka life.
Other foods are baked goods, sweets, dairy foods and desserts, etc. Especially macaroni and cheese.
Eggs and milk are especially important, as they both represent fertility.
• Some lovely Plants I associate with Birth are colorful flowers of all kinds as well as leaves, and other items from nature are twigs, rocks, branches, seashells, pebbles, sand, dirt, soil, etc.
• Things to do for Birth include:
Appreciate nature and all that it’s done for you.
Be thankful for life. Write about how thankful you are for the growth of nature, the flourishing of all life, and the air that you breathe.
Write about your most favorite animals and favorite part of nature.
Look up different animals and plants and learn about how they work, live and function.
Listen to music about nature and growth in all forms (besides nature, growth is also who you are, how far you’ve come, and what you’ll do next).
Go for walks where there is nature. (Which is everywhere!!! 🌸💫💕)
Go outside and observe nature. Watch as everything moves as intended, smell the freshness of it all, listen to the sounds, feel the warmth, the fresh air, the soft wind, and the firm ground beneath you, and the soft grass. (This is also a form of meditation and grounding for me)
Open a window to let in fresh air, and observe nature from there.
Do some cleaning and rearranging. Add something new to your home.
Meditate (However you wish. There is no one way to meditate.)
Look up nature aesthetics.
Listen to soothing nature sounds for meditation.
Look up videos of nature and animals. I personally love watching cute animal videos, especially of silly cats, ferrets and dogs!! I also love how adorable cows, donkeys and foxes are.
Dress in the colors of Birth, decorate yourself in flowers and other plants, little animal dolls and nature toys/dolls.
Draw artwork of nature (plants, animals, water, landscapes, etc)
Decorate anything with eggs, flowers, twigs, branches, animal dolls, stuffed animals, baby animals, artwork such as sewing work, knitted/crochet work, painted work, drawings, etc, fill a cup of dyed water for blood, which symbolizes life.

this holiday name currently left blank
If I were to create a personalized wheel of the year, the "it's spring" holiday (the one where it's definitely not really spring but you are reminded that someday, soon...) it would be on the day that I found out that the maple sap was running.
The winter won't last forever.
Oh yeah, and go eat some pancakes.

Pisces Season!
Happy Pisces Season my beautiful bbs. This deep, watery season is all about inner knowing, change and creation. If you haven't gotten the rest you've needed this winter, now is the time!
Pisces to me is like the song "escapism." Everything about them is like they're in their own little world and interacting with them is like opening a portal right into that world. There is a feeling of detachment about them, an old soul type feeling even when you're only looking at them. I feel like they have an inner knowing of the vastness of the soul. It's as if they know they've been here before and this life they're living is just a little blip compared to everything they've already experienced. That's why some pisces may act a little unhinged at times; Living multiple lives and being inter-dimensional in a way other people can't seem to understand could make anyone go cray cray.
As pisces season approached, I found myself drawn again to witchcraft. I struggle with my "faith" and also go against the grain a lot. I'm the kind of person who doesn't like to be told what to do. The more I learn about the dark side of Christianity, the more I question why people mindlessly believe what is said in the Bible. Although I have seen witches turn to Christ. I just know that I was brought up in a catholic setting and I want to experience things differently at this point in my life. I am drawn to witchcraft and paganism and I always have been. My best friend and I used to make "potions" in her backyard, or salads with poison berries in them hahha.
At this time in my life, I want to learn more about plants, herbal medicine, gardening, animals, birds, harvesting and anything to do with the natural world. I'm going to surrender to the flow of my life and stop trying to control every little thing. I'm going to rest when I need to and I'm going to stay up late if I want to!
Ostara is 30 days away and I want my Chi to be at 100% by then! That means DETOXING and I personally have been feeling called to just BE ALONE! The world can wait! I have a handful of loose leaf teas I want to make each night before bed. I can also use these in a nice herbal bath. I'm being called to cut out the shit I put in my body like extra sugar, processed food, soda and even shitty television, social media and all that JUNK!
Pisces have a deep knowing. They know the ins and outs of the world, they know the evils at play. They know that most people don't have your best interest at heart and maybe that's why they belong so deeply to themselves. This is the last zodiac before the astrological new year, April babies, Aries season, Spring Equinox! What are your plans for this Pisces season?
I found a new witchy blog I love if you want to check it out too! It's www.softspirituality.com ! She has a blog all about Pisces season too! Hope you're well and things are looking up for you.
Love ya xoxox - Kaylee
