Today's Gender of the Day is: Solarian!

Solarian is an identity equivalent to being male-aligned and/or masculine-aligned depending on the preference of self-identification. It can mean a number of things ranging from being male-aligned without being a man, having a connection (wholly or in part) to masculinity, having a gender similar to man, and many more. It falls under the Galactian Alignment gender system.

This gender is both miaspec (male-in-nature) and minspec (masculine-in-nature), which allows it to be a very flexible and varied identity for many people. Anyone of any gender can be solarian, and this label can also be combined with other identities from the galactian alignment system.

If one is partially solarian, it is called dawnian. Other subsets of solarian include helian and phoebian.

Similar identities include juparian, proxvir, xoy, and nonbinary man.

The feminine equivalent to this identity is lunarian.

solarian is a galactian gender alignment. there's helian and phoebian. there are gender elements, in which fervian is the masc counterpart. there are gender energies, in which juparian is the masc counterpart. Aur is the masculine alloy alignment. There are some other gender systems. Sometimes miaspec is used as the same as man-aligned in the wiki.

coining post - galactian alignment system

SO !! after many days of questioning my exact gender in the galactian alignment system and trying my best to simplify the number of relevant labels i used while also changing them around a bunch in order to do so, i’ve decided to coin my own term that has what i want in it. now presenting:

STORMIAN!!

stormian ─ a nonbinary gender alignment in the galactian alignment system that is feminine aligned, unaligned, partly/demi masculine aligned, and xenic aligned. it can be considered a combination of lunarian, stellarian, dawnian, and spacialian. a stormian individual can be aurorian (fluid) between the corresponding genders or it can be all four of them at the same time.

in my case, this could also include phoebian alignment; i personally consider it to be “penumbrian, sometimes just nebularian, AND dawnian” rather than each individual single alignment label listed out. it isn’t inherently defined that way (and it’s oddly specific) so i didn’t want to include it in the definition, but just know before using this term that it was designed with masc- but not necessarily (fully) male-alignment; as, y’know, the whole point of dawnian is for the masc/male-alignment to be partial. in other words, whether your connection to dawnian is phoebian (masc) or helian (male) aligned, you can use stormian to describe your gender alignments.

if anyone would like to coin an opposite but equal in definition (i.e. solarian, stellarian, duskian, and spacialian) term, please do go ahead. i just wanted to coin this one for myself, but anyone else is free to use it too. it’s also very personal to me because “storm” was an alias i went by online before even realizing i could be trans/nonbinary. that’s not why i named the label that way, but i felt like sharing. c:

It’s been quite a while, and a lot has changed.

My labels:

Asexual: no changes there

Aromantic: I’m 36yo now, and my only bout of romantic attraction was for less than a year for one person in a demirecipromantic way when I was 17yo & 18yo.

Aroace: I’m not sure how my aromanticism and asexuality interact, but I know they are both intimately connected to the next 2 things.

Agender: I was agenderfluidflux (used the label agenderflux) with librafem and libramasc as the fluctuating and fluid genders, but my gender up and died about 4 or 5 years ago. It feels like part of the foundation that goes with me being aroace.

Autistic: I was diagnosed in Feb ‘23. I started suspecting I might be earlier in ‘21 or ‘22. The diagnosis led to my acceptance that I was autistic very quickly because it explained so many things throughout my life. I couldn’t list them here, but it made so much sense. I have a better sense of self and self-acceptance paired with autistic pride. It seems to be intimately connected to (and the foundation of) my AAA status. I’m AAAA.

Transmasc: I know it sounds weird, but I get a certain euphoria from suits and cool bow ties and neckties. I want to look like that and feel like that. I’ve also been dysphoric about my chest and reproductive system for at least 5 years and at least 20 years respectively.

Phoebian: See above.

Selenian: Most people see me as a woman, so I have the experience of being treated like one.

Demibialterous: I figured out in ‘23 that the vast majority of what I thought was romantic attraction was actually alterous. It’s only a thing with friends, and it feels different for different genders. With non-masc people, it feels like an equal relationship, but it feels like power dynamics come into play with masc people.

Demipanplatonic: Must be acquaintances first.

Aqueerplatonic: I just don’t feel it.

Alloaesthetic: I’m not sure whether to call it pan or omni because I see beautiful works of art all over the place.

Atheist: no changes there. Guess I’m AAAAA, which describes pretty well how I feel a lot of the time.

To sum: I’m an autistic pi-oriented aroace agender person who wants a masc presentation and happens to be atheist and is seen by society as a woman I’m not.

As a note, my Bipolar Disorder diagnosis was dropped when I was diagnosed as autistic, and I was taken off lithium. My thoughts can still overwhelm me by being on too many tracks at once.

I love hyperfocus but hate autistic inertia.

i’d been thinking about terms like these for a bit, and an anon asked if they existed, so i figured i’d coin them!

the terms ‘solarian’ and ‘lunarian’ encompass a wide spectrum of related identities; these terms fit under solarian and lunarian for those who want to further specify their alignment, as not all masc-aligned people are man-aligned, and the same for fem-aligned and woman-aligned!

like solarian/lunarian and other galactian alignments, these are fairly broad terms, and you don’t have to have a specific sort of connection to manhood/womanhood/masculinity/femininity in order to use them. if your personal experience isn’t listed in the definition, you’re still welcome to use these terms!

helian: describes someone who is man-aligned (or guy/boy/male-aligned). this includes partial men, those who are connected to manhood (with or without actually being a man), someone whose gender experiences are similar to men, etc. a subset of solarian.

phoebian: describes someone who is masc(uline)-aligned. this includes partially mingendered folks, those who are connected to masculinity (with or without actually being mingender), someone whose gender experiences are similar to mingendered people, etc. a subset of solarian.
