Meet Pietro

This happened entirely by chance! lol After writing Pietro & Azul last night, I've decided, the Carricks are absolutely getting a kitty! Here's a little backstory and some details about him.

Casey & Tobias both had cats in the past and discussed getting one together.

Tobias was more inclined to get a dog. He liked cats, but he had more sibling Rivalry with his mother's prized Persian, Lady, than he ever did with his brother. He definitely had some jealousy issues to work out.

But Casey insisted they had no time for a dog, not with their busy careers, then a surprise pregnancy to boot, so the idea of a pet was put on the back burner.

Still, they waffled. Sometimes Casey was the one with pet fever, sometimes Tobias. But when Sammy came along, they both agreed they'd wait.

Then one day, Tobias came home with this little guy snuggled in his jacket. A friend's cat had kittens, and she posted his picture on Instagram, saying he was the last one who needed a home. Tobias messaged her and said he'd pick it up after work. Casey had no idea.

He told Casey the clincher was the kitten's eyes... he swore they were the same color blue as Casey's, and he knew that meant they had to adopt him. (Yes, Tobias is that whipped.)

Casey said he was insane and insisted Tobias wanted to balance out the male/female ratio in the house now that she and Sammy had overtaken his former bachelor pad. (Poor man had no idea two more little girls were on the way - they were not to be defeated!)

They named him Pietro after one of Casey's favorite pizza places in Philadelphia. When she was pregnant with Sammy, she craved it all the time, and Tobias always figured out ways to get it for her. He did it because he loved his wife, but he loved the pizza, too. They joked that if the baby was a boy, they would name him Pietro.

Sammy was very little when he came along, but she always loved him. She liked him better than her little sister, Brooke, at first.

Everyone loves Pietro except Jackie. She likes him, but they have some beef. lol Pietro is very bonded with Tobias but abandons him for his mother, Vivian, whenever she visits. This drives Tobias insane.

Pietro is a Balinese cat. He is very loving, affectionate (when he wants to be), and playful. He does get into some mischief (and you'll see more of that), but he is a very loved member of the Carrick family. :)

— in most ways you'd be complete opposites, but it works

— on movie nights i'd imagine him always picking out a comedy or a light-hearted family one, whereas you'd suggest something different - maybe a dark romance or thriller

— you show how you love pietro in your own way, but if you show it in a way he does, ie doing something sweet/ romantic for him or saying you thought of him while picking up something random from the shop, he makes a huge deal about it, maybe like he's trying to embarrass you. "haha you love me," or "haha you thought about me," something like that, but you'd get all coy, maybe a little flustered and say how you'd never do it again or to shut up, while fighting off a smile

— decorating is always a bit of a struggle. you may prefer darker/ warm tones around the house (maybe dark greens, blacks, reds) but he prefers lighter, airy tones (blues, creams/whites, greys) but you often compromise with a dark grey (ie for the sofa)

— shared wardrobe☹️☹️ half of yours is of dark tones, his is of lights (mostly athletic wear)

— maybe you prefer the curtains closed with candles, he prefers curtains open at all times. he’s a big light user too and maybe it drives you nuts (especially at night)

(cough cats all the way cough) obvs golden retriever for him and black cat for you - so they match you perfectly!! but also again, maybe you ‘compromise’ and get both?? bc they always seem to get on so well, and that way they’re like animal versions of you 😔💔

The Avengers as High School Friend Group Archetypes

Tony Stark: Mentally ill friend. Made too many suicide jokes so his friends forced him into therapy. Flakes out on plans a lot. Either has a God complex or the worst self-esteem known to humankind. Freaks everyone out when he texts goodbye in the gc without context (he's just going on a business trip)

Bucky Barnes: Black cat. Hisses at everyone but Steve. Great at holding his boundaries but comes off aloof. Nobody is sure if he actually likes them but would secretly kill for all his friends. Hides in shadows and jumpscares everyone with his lurking. Secretly naps on Sam's bed when no one's looking

Steve Rogers: Mom friend. Always has granola bars, Tylenol, and a Tide to Go on him. Organizes the group hangouts and reminds everyone when they have a dentist appointment. Everyone's parents love him, "you can go if Steve's going" vibe. Constantly getting his friends out of trouble (secretly encourages them). His romantic life is a disaster

Thor Odinson: Gym bro. Eats eggs, chicken and rice everyday. Forces his friends to join him in the gym and comments about them not eating enough protein. Genuinely cares for their health, will get them out of bed for food and fresh air when they're sad. Goes through protein powder like Tony went through cocaine in the 80s

Peter Parker: Annoying little brother. Someone's mom definitely made them bring him to the big kid hangout. Everyone bullies him but he doesn't realize it, he just likes the attention from the cool older kids. Sam and Bucky hold him upside down from his ankles till he gets dizzy and Steve makes them put him down. Everyone is super protective of him when he's outside the friend group (hey, only we get to be mean to him)

Sam Wilson: Therapist friend. Gets way too many texts at 3 am. Extremely emotionally mature but laughs at fart jokes. Knows everyone's trauma and will use it against them if provoked. Strangers randomly vent to him in public. Gentle parents adults when they're upset. Nobody ever asks him how he is

Natasha Romanoff: Man hater. All her best friends are men and none of them are actually sure if she's joking about hating them. Mean but never takes things too far. Flirts constantly because she thinks it's funny but is really awkward and bad at it when she genuinely likes someone. Hates when someone treats her like a man / "one of the bros", wishes she had more female friends

Bruce Banner: Bad luck friend. Can not catch a break. Everytime they hear from him something new has gone wrong in his life. His dog threw up on his bed, his computer broke before a huge deadline, his favourite sweater shrunk in the dryer. Just a disaster of a human. Constantly has some minor injury, from inexplicable bruises to a sprained wrist. Never having a good day but tries to remain positive. Anxious

Clint Barton: Class clown. Will make a fool of himself in front of every pretty girl in his vicinity. Is actually only funny half the time, the other half he's just loudly wrong. Confidence is key for him. Can charm and talk his way out of anything. Will make everyone laugh at the worst moments. Women reject him because he has a girl best friend

Wanda Maximoff: Boy crazy. Is ready to talk about her crush, boyfriend, or situationship at any given moment. Is never single for longer than a month. Will not take shit from a man and makes sure her and her friends are treated properly. Surprisingly good at balancing her friendships and relationships, doesn't neglect people. Has Pinterest boards for her wedding, dream home, and decor. Wants to be a stay at home mom. Big Swiftie and went to the Eras Tour

Pietro Maximoff: Unemployed friend. Always doing the most random thing on a Tuesday morning. One day he's kayaking in British Columbia, the next he's joined an MLM scam. He has a new cat? He adopted him from Istanbul on that trip no one knows about. He's drinking fresh lemonade? He actually volunteers with disabled elderly and Doris gives him lemons from her tree. Knows how to cook a turkey. Unclear if he's homeless or not, usually sleeping on a friend's couch or at a random woman's place (still on the couch)

Cat and Coulson

Sumary: Cat got left alone for the day as the Avengers went on a mission. She meets some new people and spents time with her favourite S.H.I.E.L.D personel.

Fun fact: Cat's full name is Cupcake Amelia Tessa. Thor, thought of the Cupcake part and is very proud of it. Note: Art/picture is from Google, credits go to whoever made it.

(Cats pov.)

I was home alone. I was alone at home, and they left me! Okay, okay, that may be a bit dramatic. Everyone is just on a mission or at home with their family.

But I am bored, and I don't like that. I need attention and love!

As I was sitting on the couch, when the most amazing idea popped into my head. S.H.I.E.L.D. is also here. I can visit my favorite agents. I just need to get there. I jumped off the couch and made my way to the door. As I wandered around the hallway on my way to S.H.I.E.L.Ds floor, I greeted everyone who I saw with a happy meow. I love greeting the S.H.I.E.L.D agents, they are always so sweet and nice when I meow at them.

When I reached S.H.I.E.L.Ds lab, I jumped on one of the work benches to greet Fitz and Simmons. They didn't hear me at first, because of the man they were talking to. He was big, really tall and muscular. Also a bit furry in some way. I meowed a bit louder, and they turned to me. Fitz and Simmons looked really happy to see me and started petting me, saying the sweetest words. The man looks a bit grumpy, I wonder what he's doing here.

I meowed happily at Fitz and Simmons and purred loudly. The grumpy man rolled his eyes a bit. "So you are just gonna pet a random cat that walked in?" The men said to Fitz and Simmons, which made Fitz gasp a bit. "This is not just some random cat! This is Cat! The Avengers cat, and S.H.I.E.L.DS mascot! She is our precious kitty!" Fitz said to the grumpy man. I like how Fitz gets mad in a cute way, I know Simmons likes that too.

"Yeah, yeah, it's just a cat" The man said as he waved Fitz's comments off. "She me be just a cat to you, Logan, but she means a lot to us. Now i bet you want to go to Coulson'' Simmons said to me after telling the grumpy man, who I guess is named Logan, that I am not just a cat. I meowed when she mentioned Coulson. I really wanted to take a nap on his lap. It was just the perfect nap place.

Simmons laughed and picked me up. "I'll be right back, got to bring this fluffball to Coulson" She tells Logan and Fitz before carrying me to Coulson's office.

Simmons carried me all the way to Coulson's office and dropped me off at the door before leaving me alone. Of course the door was closed and Simmons forgot to knock on it for me. I guess, I'll just have to do what i do best, be an annoying little demon. I moewed loudly and started to scratch the door with my paws. “MreooooooW! MrREoooOow!” finally after a few really loud meows, Coulson opened his office door and let me inside. “We should really get you more cat doors.” Coulson laughed while closing the door.

I just jumped onto Coulson's desk and waited for him to sit back in his spinny chair. Coulson sighed once his papers got messed up and squished by my butt. I love teasing him like this. Coulson fixed the small mess I made and got back to work. He was amazing, tho i could see all the things that happened over the years took a toll on him. He looked a bit older than what he actually was and he had smile lines, but those were a good thing.

"What do you think, would Tony like it if I cut off half of his party founds?" Coulson asked me. I looked up and meowed twice, he of course knew that ment no. "You're tight he wouldn't, but he will just have to deal with it" Coulson laughed and typed away on his keyboard.

Over the next hour I napped on Coulson's desk, papers and keyboard as he tried to work on his important S.H.I.E.L.D business. I slowly stretched and got into Coulson's lap before continuing my nap.

It was late at night when the Avengers finally got back to the compound. Everyone was tried and done with the day, yet Cat wasn't anywhere to be found. Thor panicked the most out of everyone. Clearly the tired god couldn't take not seeing his favorite little kitty cat before bed. 

“We need to find Cupcake! What if someone catnapped her! What if she is stuck and can't call for help?!” Thor said panicky as he paced around the room. 

“It's okay Thor Cat is smart enough to not be catnapped” Natasha reassured Thor as she as she helped Wanda clean a small cut on her arm “I bet she's probably somewhere warm, taking a nice long nap”

This did not reassure Thor at all. “But she's just a kitty.” “A strong independent kitty, Thor. Never underestimate a angry kitty” Pietro said, knowing all too well how sharp Cat's nails can be. “never underestimate a kitty, Thor, never”

Steve walked into the room again after changing into his pajamas, just catching the last bit of the conversation. “What's going on?” “Thor is panicking over why Cat hasn't shown up yet” Bucky answered as he walked up to Steve. Giving his cheek a quick kiss and left the room to go shower. “Owh, i guess she's with Phill then”

“Phill?” Tony asked, confused. “Yes, Phill, you know agent Coulson?” Steve answered with a raised eyebrow. “No, no, we went over this. His first name is agent, not Phill.” Tony said stubbornly, not accepting that Coulson's first name was Phill and not agent. Everyone just sighed at Tony's stubbornness, except Thor. He ran to find Cat as soon as he heard Steve say she might be with Coulson.

Cat and Coulson were peacefully napping in Coulson’s office when Thor bursted through the door. Thor didn’t realize that the two of them were asleep. He was about to say something when Loki put a hand over Thor’s mouth. “Don’t brother, let them sleep. Cat will find her way back to you when she is ready.” Loki whispered to Thor as he looked over at the peaceful Cat and agent. Thor pouted, but listened to Loki and left to go to bed. Loki looked at Cat and Coulson and took a quick picture of the two. Of course for blackmail, totally not because he thought they looked cute. He left the office door open just a tiny bit and went to bed himself.
