I'm so happy to see this I've set the story as the Fishman Island arc, for an equally obvious reason. In advance, I hope you enjoy the story ( ꈍᴗꈍ). And, I don't know who made this amazing fanart one, but if you do, please let me know immediately so that I can give due credit.

Luffy x Fem!Reader

Warning: nothing, just fluffy.

You were living another monotonous day on Fish Man Island, trying to find any crumb or spark of adventure to give you a good laugh and a bit of adrenaline. Pappag and Camie tried to cheer you up with the idea of shopping and eating Hachi's takoyakis, but you had done the same thing three days ago.

It wasn't a certainty, it was a pure fact that nothing interesting was happening on this island for you. Until you, exhausted by boredom, went to Camie's house to see if she had any news. And that was a great idea, a really great idea.

As soon as you entered her house after a couple of knocks, you saw that there were three people and a strange being, apparently new to the area. On closer inspection, there was a blond man with elegant hair, who, as soon as he saw you, came running towards you, blood gushing from his nose. Speaking of noses, there was a big-nosed man next to a boy in a straw hat. But none of them interested you. What really caught your attention was the tiny creature that you had no idea what animal it was.

-Is that even an animal? - you asked yourself, your thoughts speaking aloud as you deliberately poked at the creature's antlers.

-I'm a reindeer! - the reindeer exclaimed, backing away from you angrily, covering its antlers with its fluffy paws.

-Y/N, I want you to meet my friends. This is Sanji," Camie approached you, pointing at the blond with the heart eyes.

-Oh, miss, I've never seen beauty as fascinating as yours. When can we get married? - the blond in question asked, kneeling down in front of you and holding out his hand to you.

Camie just laughed, ignoring the whole show, while you followed his finger-pointing.

-That's Chopper over there, isn't he cute? - you went over to the so-called Chopper, pulling his cheeks and feeling his soft fur.

-So cute… - you blushed, pulling Chopper into a hug, to which he responded not very pleasantly.

-That's Ussop, he's got great adventure stories. - the word "adventure" rang an alarm bell in your head, making you turn your head so quickly that anyone watching would be afraid you'd break your neck.

-Ho ho, people keep coming after the great Captain Ussop to hear his fantastic stories. - Ussop struck a superhero pose, as if he were looking towards the horizon.

-Captain Ussop, can you tell me about your adventures? - you asked, hoping to get a positive response from the big nose.

-Oh, but of course, I'll always be available to tell you all sorts of stories about my adventures! - he thickened his voice, nodding outrageously to say the least.

You were delighted, excitement electrifying every part of your body.

-Finally, this is Luffy, the captain of the gang. - Camie concluded, pointing to the boy who was looking at you, grinning from ear to ear.

On closer inspection, you found the brunette attractive, not to mention handsome, right off the bat.

-And I'm going to be king of the pirates! - Luffy concluded, his smile widening, his eyes closed tightly, making him cuter by the second. "So they're pirates," you concluded, thinking. Incredibly, that line moved you, burned you up inside, but you didn't know why or how. It was the first time you'd felt your heart beat so fast in so long. Oh, and that wasn't adrenaline. It wasn't the fear of being caught. It wasn't any of those things. It was something different, quite different from the usual. And from that moment on you silently decreed that you would find out what that strange feeling was, your eyes focused only on Luffy, who never tired of smiling at you.

-Nice to meet you - you smiled, Chopper kicking you in the face begging you to let go while sparks flew from his eyes from staring at Luffy.

-Hihihihi - Luffy just found the situation amusing, always smiling as long as he could.

-What about walking around? There's a lot of cool stuff you need to see! - Camie decreed, already tugging at her colleagues' hands, you going along out of sheer instinct for fun.

You all visited Pappag's clothing store, and you even met other members of Luffy's gang, who were just as kind. As you looked around, Luffy made a point of always catching your eye in any way, with anything. From some stuffed animal that, according to him, looked like you, to how the food was prepared, and even though you knew all this, you lent yourself to learning it all over again, just for Luffy.

-Look, it suits you. - Luffy came up behind you, putting on a straw hat with a purple scarf adorning the hat. - Now we're matching - he said, standing behind you and putting his hands on your shoulders, smiling as you looked at yourselves in the mirror in front of you. - Isn't it?

You agreed slowly, fascinated by Luffy's pure beauty. And it didn't stop there. Everywhere you went, Luffy always kept those warm hands on your shoulders, clinging to you like a tick. Did he… Liked you? Or was it just a figment of your mind?

After a whirlwind of confusion that you unfortunately didn't take part in because you were "investigating" the sudden disappearance of your mermaid friends, you were directed by your pet seahorse to where Camie and the others were.

Your eyes popped out of their sockets at the sight of a giant mermaid, or rather, the princess of the Ryugu Kingdom, Shirahoshi.

She and Luffy were laughing together, like old friends seeing each other after so long. That unsettled you, and strangely your heart squeezed. What could it be? Were you ill? Something you ate or drank for breakfast?

-Oi, Y/N, over here! - Luffy's voice caught your attention, making your heart pound. It made you recall a vague memory of something Pappag told you.

"If your heart races when you interact with someone, it's because you like them."

Of course, you were inexperienced in this field, you'd never even considered dating. But you didn't give up easily. Oh no, you'd figure it out on your own.

Swimming over to Luffy quickly, you sat there, next to him. He was in a bubble to make sure he didn't drown, and quickly slung his arms over your shoulders, resting right there. He introduced you to the princess, to whom she was delighted to meet you, and you felt the same.

Looking around, you saw that you were in the sea forest, and it soon became clear that both Luffy's boat was there, and also the princess wanted to see her dead mother, to make up for the time she hadn't been able to see her.

Meanwhile, Luffy was already snoring on her lap. It was adorable to see him so vulnerable around you. Until his pet seahorse started to catch his eye, heading towards the pile of coral.

-What is it, Koryu? - you asked him, watching him point frantically at the pile of coral.

Koryu gave up and started pulling you towards it, waking Luffy up in the process. Koryu only let go of your arm when you could see a dolphin calf with its tail all bruised to the point where it could no longer swim. Perhaps the dolphin had run into predators and narrowly escaped.

You carefully picked up the dolphin and put it on your lap, and thought of a way to take care of it. You were so caught up in your thoughts that you didn't even see Luffy coming.

-Huh, a dolphin? - he asked, right next to your ear. You turned abruptly, so that your faces were right next to each other. Your lips were millimeters away from meeting, and your breaths danced together. Let's pretend there isn't a bubble separating you. You turned your attention to the dolphin, your heart almost bursting out of your mouth and your face turning into a blushing mess.

-A-ah, yes it's a…dolphin. He's hurt, so he needs to be looked after.

There was a moment of silent tension between you, and you wouldn't dare look at Luffy's face now, you felt like you could die from an attack if you did.

-If you keep avoiding looking at me like that, you'll never know if you really like me. - Luffy said, catching your eye. You widened your eyes, and turned to him, shocked.

-How did you know? - you asked, your stomach churning with that familiar feeling.

-Well, it's easy to tell when you keep saying your thoughts out loud. - he shrugged, smiling.

You closed your mouth, cursing internally. That was your weakest point, speaking your thoughts out loud without even realizing it. You must have done it at some point when the two of you were together and he must have heard it. Lucky you.

-Well, I like you. - Luffy said without blinking, giving you a quick kiss right after he declared himself.

It caught you off guard, and he just smiled, leaving the pile of coral and going back to where the others were. After your brain short-circuited for a few seconds, you smiled, bringing your fingers to your lips, where seconds ago they were being kissed by the first boy you ever liked.

Feeling his lips was the thing that gave you the most adrenaline in your entire life. And yes, it was addictive. And yes, you wanted more.

The truth is, Luffy, from the first moment he met you, he liked you. No, that's incorrect. He fell in love with you from the very first moment. Of course, he didn't know the first thing about love, God, hours ago he just wanted to be king of the pirates. Now he has another goal, and that goal is to love you until the day he die.

(At some point I was even going to describe the color of the tail, but I left it to your imagination)

Highlights: EJ writes just some of my favorite David/Angel smut; she captures Angel's little shit nature perfectly. There's the David/Darlin tattoo shop AU that has me frothing at the mouth because tattoo artists are stinkin hot. That's not even getting into their Cam/William fic, because god, that is such a good rarepair. We love two immortals finding love with one another, we really do. My personal favorite has got to be their Huxley/Darlin piece though, because Darlin gets to be cute and awkward and so, so loved in it.

Her Imperium!Lasko/Adam fic kind of changed my life, I'm kind of obsessed with it.

Lovely, absolute stand-out writer in the fandom! Would you believe they have a whole (as of posting) 95 works for the RedactedASMR fandom on AO3? There’s <2000 fics, which makes Lovely a whole five percent of the fanfiction on their own. That’s wild and so hella cool. Highlights: Literally everything they write. Explore their extremely well done masterlist, it’s beautifully put together, and you’ll find something you love. (I’m particularly fond of the Darlin/Vega fic they wrote based off of one of FriendlyFaded’s posts~)

There is no Redacted fandom or fandom list without Pali, and we’ve all accepted that. Her style is so uniquely and instantaneously recognizable as hers, and everyone adores it, including but not limited to GBA, Nomad, and Cardlin! Highlights: Literally everyone she draws is so pretty, though I have a soft spot for her Vincent or her Nomad drawings if you’re looking for more VAs to listen to!

Kirehn has the most huggable humans and the most awe-inspiring d(a)emons. The way she draws the d(a)emons with constellations worked into the designs and color palettes is just so gorgeous and purposeful and thoughtful. Highlights: Their Vega is so frightening but beautiful, you just can’t look away from him. I’m also particularly in love with their Darlin!

Do y’all ever do this thing when you see an ethereally beautiful person and you have no words, all you can do is giggle like a vapid schoolgirl(gn)? I saw someone mention the idea of sages taking control of their avatars while they're asleep, and that got me thinking about Yunobo.

If you don't mind, may I request a short story about Yunobo taking control of his avatar while dreaming, and making moves on his Hylian friend who he lent his avatar ring to keep them safe on their travels?

Sorry if it's an oddly specific request, I just love the idea of this hylian friend talking to Yuno's avatar to build confidence for when they see their goron crush again, just for his avatar to start showing them affection in what Yuno perceives as an amazing dream

I'm going to lean this on the more sfw side because I have a cute idea (and also because I don't think Yunobo has it in him to engage in anything more than cuddling while the eye of his affections is asleep, he's a gentleman and prefers you to be present ❤️) Warning for Tears of the Kingdom spoilers mentioned And this actually gave me a fantastic idea to do a sort of follow up with this ficlet I wrote a while ago. Please enjoy!

When you'd told Yunobo of the trip you needed to make to the Lanayru Wetlands to procure a few rarer herbs, it admittedly made him nervous - but only temporarily. With his new powers awakened, he remembered that came with the perk of having his visage move freely with whomever had the associated ring to wield it. Next thing you knew, a spectral duplicate of your dearest friend walked at your side as you traveled down Death Mountain to your destination. You were grateful for its presence, it was a piece of Yunobo's spirit, and it felt familiar in that sense...but deep down you knew it was not the same thing as physically having him with you.

Still, it made you feel safe, and you appreciated that much.

"Wow it's really coming down out there," you whispered aloud, watching the sky having opened up as you stood at the entrance to the Wetland Stable. You'd an inkling that it was about to rain, and although you weren't far from where you needed to pull your herbs from, you knew better than to get caught in the torrential downpours that occurred in the wetlands. Yunobo's avatar stood behind you, silently looking onward, a mimic of your own actions. A few hours passed as you meticulously mapped out the locations of the plants you planned on retrieving. Soon enough, even through the cover of the still heavy rain, came nightfall. While you were the only attendant at the Wetland Stable, you still did your best to be polite and quietly set up for some rest.

As you looked over to the incorporeal avatar of Yunobo, you smiled plaintively. No conversation ever truly came from that afternoon where Bludo had so loudly let out a supposedly hidden secret Yunobo had about you. You never sought to push the issue, either. In your mind, when he was ready, it would happen. A soft laugh escaped you, wistful as you sensed the specter was looking more through you than at you, even though it met your gaze. Yet that didn't stop your words,

"I suppose I should be grateful that you're here with me, not-Yunobo...but truthfully I wish the real Yunobo was here." The avatar said nothing, hollowed eyes trained toward you and nothing more. It caused you to break your gaze with it momentarily, "If only he really knew...how much he truly meant to me...maybe holding back an 'I love you' wouldn't be this hard, hm?" You looked up to see his avatar hadn't stirred from its position. Face unchanged, stance unmoved. Another laugh, albeit a little more bitter this time. If you only you were that brave yourself. With a lengthy sigh, you laid yourself down to rest, the sound of heavy rain lulling you quickly to sleep.

Tightness in his chest, that's what Yunobo felt as he stirred in his sleep. The vision before him was a tad hazy, though he was able to make out your figure not too far off before him. You sat at the edge of a bed, your expression one of what looked like...sorrow? Why were you sad? Suddenly, he heard you laugh. Your voice was audible, even if it did sound like he was hearing it through a pot.

"If only he really knew...how much he truly meant to me...maybe holding back an 'I love you' wouldn't be this hard, hm?"

In the real world, the Goron sage clenched and unclenched his fist. His heart slammed in his chest at your confession. It was then he realized he was seeing and hearing all of this through his avatar, the very thing you had brought with you to keep you safe on your journey. Sensing there must be some sort of spiritual connection there, Yunobo initially rejoiced (this made it easier to communicate with you if he needed to), but then lamented once he absorbed your words. His face scrunched as he slumbered, internally remembering how he'd run away from you like a coward when his mentor had basically confessed for him.

Only now to find out...you had always felt the same.

What a fool he was.

Yunobo, taking a deep breath in his "dream", focused his attention. His thoughts centered on moving toward you, wanting to be closer to your bedside. Without a second thought needed, his avatar crept up slowly, being careful to stop just at the head of your bed. He mentally coached his next movements, and in real-time, his visage lifted its hand to your face. Its index finger found the apple of your cheek, a barely there stroke supplied to the softness of your face in a tender gesture. Longing plagued his heart as he watched through the eyes of his avatar the very person he loved most at rest. Your sleeping form was so peaceful - and yet here he was, causing a storm in that sweet heart of yours. Though his lips did not move in real life or on his specter, his voice sounded softly from the ghostly image of him,

"One day, real soon, I'll tell you, goro...and I hope you'll still love me then."

For now, he took solace in the way you hummed blissfully in your sleep - unaware of his gentle touch - but smiling all the same at how it seemed to bring you comfort.

What are any rise fanfic recs that you have?

I got so excited for this ask. Okay so, I'm not going to recommend things with over 1k kudos on Ao3, because they're easy to find. 'Tale of Spirits', 'Sorry, Teenage Mutant What Now', 'Ronin Discord Admin', etc. (I would also LOVE to rec things besides RoTTMNT if anyone is interested...) But here's one's I've reread MULTIPLE times.

tried to grow up good by @sroloc--elbisivni Absolutely banger of a Casey Jones fic. The pinnacle of Casey Jones fics. It's the second in the series, and the first one is very good as well, but this one reads just fine as a stand-alone. Casey Jones Jr. stealing cars is just very near and dear to me.

The Whispering Forest and Other Tales ALSO by @sroloc--elbisivni, as well as Waywayrdwitchcat. (If they have a tumblr someone let me know please.) I NEED EVERYONE TO READ THIS FIC SERIES. it's probably my favorite ROTTMNT fic series of all time. (I'm going to say that a lot in this list but it's all true.) The whole series is absolutely wonderful, spooky, romantic, and set in feudal era Japan in a world similar to the Usagi Yojimbo comics. If you're worried about not knowing Usagi Yojimbo comics, don't be. I didn't and had no trouble following along; it provides all the context you need, and blends it with the ROTTMNT universe anyway.

BuzzfeedUnsolved: The Strange Disappearance of Lou Jitsu Self explanatory, a fic in a Buzzfeed Unsolved True Crime episode format. Hilarious, and the author did a FANTASTIC job of capturing what I love about cheesy crime youtube. Lighthearted and short!

Things That Ought To Crawl by @thisonesforturtles Sep!Donnie AU, wonderful Draxum adjusting to rehabilitating effectively completely feral and very young Donnie who doesn't remember much, and a lot of very cool and incredibly smart mystical head canons. Hugin and Munin are absolutely wonderful in this as well. It actually takes the idea of what a feral child growing alone would result in, and digs into it. (Not completed)

No Rest For The Weary by @plothooksinc POST MOVIE FIC probably my all time favorite post movie fic actually. THIS HAS EVERYTHING. I won't say anything about it because most of the twists and turns are so interesting I don't want to ruin them. Mind the tags though! (Not completed)

And the way they seek comfort in each other just warms my heart. The last few paragraphs never fail to put a smile on my face. So yeah, please go and read this one, it's fantastic!

Reasons why I love it: I never would've thought that a fluffy Skrull fic could actually work, but holy shit, it does. And it goes hard. It's so cute and funny at the same time, and I really love the team being all shifty and apologetic, it's fricking adorable. I highly recommend you check this one out, it's super sweet!

Pure Desire

Following up on yesterday's Wonderland magazine Gong Jun photo shoot, here's a fig inspired by Zhehan's Wonderland magazine photo shoot.

The inspiration for this fig comes from this photo:

That was the direct fig inspiration, but this look was so good it was also on one of the covers of the magazine:

Whew, nothing pure about this cover, if you ask me, but nobody asked! The fig maker might have meant it the smoking hot way. Speaking of which:

Both this fig and Gong Jun's fig from yesterday was from their Wonderland cover features from their 30th birthdays - Junjun's in November of course, and Zhehan's in May.

This is actually something of a spoiler because guess what fig is being featured next? Yep, you got it! This one indeed.

These figs came in a 5-fig set that you could buy individually or more conveniently as a group. I bought them as a set, which included the two Zhehan Wonderland figs and three Gong Jun figs. They're all great, you'll see them all!

Zhehan arrived safely here at home, which is good, since that extended arm is nice and strong in real life, but significantly less so in fragile resin form!

You might think those were little cats in those beautiful big fig eyes - but wait!

They are little dogs! Samoyeds, even...that's because he's looking at Gong Jun. This is too cute, I love it!

It almost seems a real shame to put his glasses on, but let's do it, and put him on his...bed, I guess:

Ah! so cute! I'm so happy the fig maker gave him that little sideways smile, because not only is this my favorite fig expression, I always prefer my figs smiling.

He is just adorable. I love how the fig maker draped his clothes here to mimic the photo as he's sitting down. The light blushing on that nice strong fig arm looks fantastic too!

He may look like he easily sits in the bed, but I assure you that was not the case. Just sitting him on the little divots made him slide right off. Pressing him down and back into the divots made his resting arm float up a bit, which is no good. I ended up gluing him and carefully wiggling him a bit so he was flush up against the back while also trying to get as much contact with the hand and bed as possible. This is actually my first close up look at the job I did, and I'm quite pleased.

His head has notches at the temples for the arms of the glasses to click into, which is my favorite for glasses with figs. It makes it so much easier to finagle fig glasses, I can't even tell you.

I love this casual lean. It's such a beautiful picture - I'm so glad someone made a fig of it!

You can see the detail of the ribbing on his black sweater here, which is a really great touch. It's hard to see in the original picture, but if I dramatically lighten it up, you can see the detail the fig maker included:

Yeesh, helpful for details, but feels weird to fade out such a nice picture!

This is a great angle to see his slides. I know he was styled for this, but the slides do seem very Zhehan.

He is SO CUTE. I love the tiniest hint of his smile from this angle! Also, his hair is magnificent here. The fig maker did a stellar job on this fig.

He's just perfect.

Alright, time for the bottoms-up pics. Look how nice the detailing on his hand is here.

The top-down angle really shows off all that styled hair! This is also a nice one I think to see the lines of his pose.

I always worry I'm going to drop a fig on my counter and break one of the delicate spiky bits of hair. It's happened before, but thankfully, hasn't happened in a long time.

i'm so glad you asked. please listen to the old world classic The Climb by Miley Cyrus while reading the following:

I rise up on the podium, looking fantastic in the camp t-shirt, which I've already converted into a crop top, and those cute little athletic shorts which hug my curves just so. The expression on my face is one of optimism and grit. The thought in the audience's minds is, overpoweringly, "Wow, she has what it takes." The countdown ends and I jump off the platform and run away immediately. I do this for two reasons. 1: There is no need for me to suffer. It is not what I was made to do. 2: People will shower me in sponsor gifts.

In this arena I would head immediately to my cabin. There is no Capitol cabin but this is what it would look like. I immediately settle in, listening to the distant sounds of the bloodbath and the cannons going off. The sponsor gifts begin to shower upon me within the first hour, so I set up my new home for the next few days as I do with any vacation house: of course I first check the sheets for bed bugs (there aren't any!), then I put my clothes in the dresser, then I place all my makeup on the vanity. I'm sent some changes of clothes by sponsors and makeup too, as they know I'd die (literally!) without it.

Once everything's in order I decide to do some exploring. A few tributes see me coming out of my tent and decide to raid it, since they can tell it's the nicest. Little do they know that one of the sponsor gifts I was sent is a crossbow, the weapon I'm most excellent at (because I learned it in training a few days ago). I shoot the three of them in the head and go over to see the bodies before they're picked up by the hovercraft. It turns out that these were the remaining Careers.

I forage in the woods for a bit and befriend some of my new forest friends, but I brush up against some poison oak and have to return to my tent to take my sponsor medication and lie down for a bit.

My afternoon nap turns into a long sleep, and I wake to birdsong in the morning. There's a boy at my door, very attractive, and he asks if he can come in. I sit up and rub my eyes blearily. He tells me that he wants to form an alliance. He's from District Nine and is strong; I saw him in training and was impressed by his muscles and nay, not his six pack, his eight pack.

He tells me that all he needs me to do is not fall in love with him. "That's the worst thing for tributes," he says, and I know that he's right, but I also know that he won't be able to stop himself from falling for me. We draw up battle plans which involves me making distractions in various parts of the Arena and then him swooping in for the kill. We kill several tributes in this way, and the rest pick each other off. At night we make a campfire and roast s'mores, then stay up late into the night talking. At first he refuses to sleep in my bed, but one late night, I insist. He does, and we make love. It's beautiful and I am so good and attractive.

The next morning I wake early and do some math to find that we are the only two tributes left. I go to my dresser and remove the lipstick that I was sent which is also a knife. I uncap it and go to his side. I lean down and give him a kiss to wake him, and then I slice his throat. The final cannon sounds and I am crowned the luminescent Victor.

Me, in the Arena? Why, I never...

Cue the music.

I begin by diving headfirst into the Bloodbath. Yes, I know why they call it that, and no, I am not afraid. The way to get somewhere in this world is to take things that don't belong to you and pretend they've been yours all along, and that's exactly what I do. I grab a bag, a sword, a canteen, and a granola bar. I plow over a few tributes in the process. I don't give a fuck.

I wormed my way into the Career pack days ago. How'd I do it? Doesn't matter. A few well-placed admissions of complete falsities dressed up as sincerity here, a few pecks on the lips there. I don't want to go into detail -- a girl never kisses and tells. Anyway, the team and I take over the Cornucopia. I don't see why Career packs don't do this anymore like they did in the olden days. But we have everything we need and more -- and I have a backpack filled with supplies of my own for when shit goes south.

Here's when I start capitalizing on those falsities from before. Little rumors. He said, she said. Turn them against each other. It's so fucking easy. Meanwhile they pick off the weaker tributes so I don't have to. Cannons going off left and right. I could lift a finger, don't get me wrong -- but a girl's gotta use her strengths, and that's what I do.

Eventually the Career pack dissolves. In-fighting based on everything I've told them, all of it completely false, about each other's loyalties or, rather, disloyalties. They kill each other while I'm taking a piss behind a bush.

Then it's up to me to hunt down the remaining tributes. I drown one of them in the lake -- bye bye, Earl. I take Spela on the ride of her life off the top of the high ropes course. You think I didn't have it in me? Bitch, look again. By the time the final cannon goes off I've earned my seat at the top. Cheers in the Capitol will go on for days.

Makoto naegi

For the ask thing? Here ya go! And please bear in mind that it's been a long while since I've experienced Trigger Happy Havoc, which I only encountered by watching a walkthrough that didn't do any of the free time events.

Favorite thing about them: He's not the smartest - both Byakuya and Junko probably has hive beat in terms of sheer intellect, and Kyoko could almost certainly solve the cases on her own. Even so, he's no idiot, and he succeeds by combining careful reason with a level of kindness and faith in his fellow human that none of those three can match. His decision to trust that Kyoko is lying for a reason is what ultimately exposes the mastermind and saves the survivors' lives. It's all too easy for mystery genre protagonists to set aside emotion for cold, hard logic - that's the impression I get from Kyoko (whom I like a lot, to be clear). Makoto won't play that way, and that's awesome.

Least favorite thing about them: playing Ultra Despair Girls taught me that a character can be a total normie and somehow make that a hilarious and fun personality to follow. Makoto can't even match his sister in that regard. Not that he needs to be quite like that, though. Saying my least fave thing about any DR character will still end in their favor.

Favorite quote: it's the most obvious pick, but as someone who'd never even heard of the games before watching THH's playthrough, I can't emphasize enough how much of a kick I got from him interrupting his classmates' lies and conjectures with the blunt and plainly rude "NO! THAT'S WRONG!" So friggin' funny. Makoto is nice, but he does not tolerate bullshit!

BroTP: Is it unusual to be a fan of Yasuhiro? I, for one, would enjoy a straight man/funny man duo between this overconfident yet easily spooked moron and his level-headed yet polite friend who pulls him out of jams.

OTP: I once followed a wonderful Tumblrite who was the world's foremost expert on Chihiro Fujisaki. He shipped her with Makoto and invented such a wonderful narrative for them, along with plenty of sweet art, that I was converted. They're so cute.

NoTP: I don't think much about ships, not enough to reject many with any intensity. Let me think ... every nice guy has their limits, and I can only imagine that Makoto would draw the line at the notion of dating Toko. She's a fantastic character in UDG, but such an unrepetantly irritating piece of work in THH. I like to think that he's skeptical, to say the least, of her ability to be a good partner toward Komaru when he first hears about them.

Random headcanon: this isn't the hairstyle he actually wants, he just can't figure out how to tell the barber what he wants done.

Unpopular opinion: what are the popular ones, anyway? Uhhh how about this. Blank-slate audience avatar characters get a lot of flack among writers and critics because they're usually just so functional (give the audience someone to relate to and follow) and boring (outshone by more colorful castmates). Makoto stands out in a franchise defined by titanic personalities just by taking everyone as they are, having the smarts to solve complex murder mysteries, and being a chill and friendly guy. He proves the value of the archetype and shows that characters of this stock can distinguish themselves.

Hello hello!! I'm trying to wrap up some to-do list stuff before I go off and take care of some irl junk. And I'm pretty much done with commissions for the time being sooooo... Let's move on to some of the fun stuff: talking about video games!! And not just any video game, but a game all about the most beautiful pink princess in the medium, Peach!! OH I LOVE PEACH SO MUCH-

VERY happy I was able to get a copy of this game, as I was extremely broke when it launched. But my brother very generously bought a copy for the house, so you can consider this afterthoughts sponsored by them, I suppose!

Typical stuff, this is NOT a review! Just me throwing up my thoughts about the game so people can get my jumbled mess of ideas. If I ever talk about anything that interests you, please play it!

SPOILERS FOR PRINCESS PEACH SHOWTIME AHEAD!! DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT IT SPOILED!!

Opening

So, yeah, I've played some Mario. I'd even go as far as to say that you could maybe consider me a Mario fan again. Maybe. And, well, I like Princess Peach. If you've been following me for a bit, you probably know I LOVE Peach! She's cute, she's pretty, and I think she's been PAINFULLY underused in the series the last few years. Did you know she's a powerful spellcaster? Why don't we get to see it more? I'm very thankful we're FINALLY seeing her be playable in more games again.

I was actually a HUGE fan of Super Princess Peach on DS, and I thought we were long overdue on a sequel for years. So naturally I was SUPER stoked when they showed that teeny tiny teaser a while back. Fast forward, and the game is here and... I love it! I actually think it may even be better than SPP! It's super cute!

Stuff I liked

So for starters, again it's SUPER cute! You'd probably expect as much from a game about Peach. But no it's REALLY damn cute! From the plot about a theater being taken over, to the framing of levels being stage shows, to Peach's outfits changing in each level. This game is ADORABLE! Easily up there with the recent Yoshi games as some of the cutest Mario games ever made!

It's also super good looking, I'm not a graphics expert but I think it's a damn good looking game and I think Peach's model and animations in particular look GREAT! The whole game is full of TONS of life even though it's all fake cause it's a stage show lmao. Even character designs are REALLY full of life and interesting. I'll admit I thought Madame Grape's design wasn't that exciting when I first saw it. But it grew on me and the Sour Bunch have some FANTASTIC designs! The enemies but ESPECIALLY the bosses. And Stella is also SUPER cute! Usually you'd worry new little marketable sidekicks like that would be annoying but no, Stella was fine! I like her a lot!

Speaking of the bosses, the gameplay in general of this game is REALLY good. I didn't play the demo but I remember people saying it was like a baby game. Which made me nervous. But now that I've actually played it, no I loved the gameplay. It's fairly simple and some levels you can just blast through like its nothing. But it's FUN and some levels are genuinely tough. I had a BLAST with some of these stages! And the different gameplay styles are all fun, I don't think there's any I genuinely disliked or dreaded having to do. Even slower and more boring stages like the detective ones are fun and cute! My favorite level types were the more action focused ones. But in particular I really liked Western and Ninja levels. I was really impressed by the fact they made stealth sections in a platformer that DIDN'T suck! But back to the bosses, they're REALLY good. I wasn't expecting anything too challenging but the snake, cat, and lion really did give me a bit of a run for my money! I was particularly impressed with the lion and cat, they were VERY creative and interesting boss fights. And of course, the final boss RULES. I CAN'T BELIEVE THE GAME ENDS ON A SHMUP TYPE BOSS FIGHT LMAO!! I think it makes sense because every level type is a new theme, but it was particularly great for me cause I LOVE Shmups! Put Peach in MORE on rails shooters/shmups in my opinion! The whole finale was SO good, and SO cool. It was surprisingly emotional and Radiant Peach is DOWN RIGHT GORGEOUS!!! I knew there had to be a special final boss super form and I was STILL so in love with it!

Speaking of special forms, the biggest high light of this game is obviously Peach's transformations! I'm LOVING how much we're seeing Mario characters get to change their outfits lately. Mario in Odyssey, Yoshi in Wooly World, and even Luigi in the LM3 multiplayer. It's a LONG overdue and welcome change! And seriously, seeing Peach in all these wonderful new costumes and outfits was, no questions, the best part of the game. They're all REALLY well made, I like that they're all so unique and not all just pink. It's nice to see Peach in different colors cause I was SHOCKED with how much she ate the Ninja costume. Green is SO good on her! I love seeing her in jeans, seeing her in hats, seeing her with different hair styles. It's genuinely LOVELY and I could stare at these costumes FOREVER! WHY IS SHE SO HOT!!! My favorites visually are probably Mermaid, Cowgirl, and Figure Skater. But that's not even where her new outfits end! I was FLOORED when I found out you can customize her main dress! THAT'S AWESOME WHAT THE FUCK!! During the game they give you new colors and patterns for Peach's dress so you can make her default outfit look a little more YOU. They're not all mind blowing changes, but it's cute and an extra feature they didn't have to include! I LOVED the gradient dress that went from white to bright pink.

Over all the game is just filled to the brim with life, a shocking amount of things to collect and do, and some REALLY fun and engaging levels! I was fully expecting to like this game, but personally it REALLY knocked my expectations out of the water!

Damn and another little bonus note, I didn't remember any of the music, but hearing the OST again while I write this. It's nice!! Assassin Disco is playing right now and that is GOOD!

Stuff I didn't like

But of course no game is perfect. I have a few nitpicks here and there. One is that, while I do like the Theets and I think they're noses being lights that emote with them is cute. They're something about them that's just missing that special punch? Like they're SO close to being perfect, but they just don't 100% land for me design wise. But I guess that's probably for the best since they have to have so many different designs through the game. I personally was also a little disappointed that the Sparklas were just fancier Theets. I think they maybe should've been the same species as Stella so they really stood out and I understood what made them so important compared to all the other Theets acting in the plays. But this is kind of a nitpick honestly it didn't ruin the game or anything.

Then there's the whole issue with the cover art. Yeah I really don't like it. I think the original looked cute! It's very VERY weird to have one Peach front and center that looks NOTHING like any other Peach on the cover or in game. And yeah it's just the cover art, but you see it a lot. It's WEIRD. And I'm grasping for stuff to say I didn't like about this game cause it was so good. I remember people being like "well it's GOOD she looks like this cause now she can actually emote" which seems to be the catch all argument against feminine designs or designs people dislike without having much of a reason to. And personally I'm starting to think it's kind of a bunk argument. Peach emotes just fine in this game! And I actually think they make her look INCREDIBLY cute! Any design can emote and be expressive if you actually let them emote and be expressive. But again that's a small issue, this LITERALLY makes no impact on the game lol.

Outside of small things like that. My main issue with this game is just that it feels a little short and repetitive. It's not THAT bad, you only have to play the same level theme 3-4 times to get the ending. But like, it just feels like there should be more. But at the same time, I really have no idea how you could fix this issue. There's already 10 different transformations, each with their own gameplay style more or less. It's kind of a lot! So I understand why they didn't make more and risk having some just not be good. I guess this type of weird stalemate issue can only be fixed... With a sequel... Please... Peach deserves it.

Final Thoughts

YEAH!! Princess Peach is back too it would seem! I kind of can't believe it, it really seemed like they just didn't really want to ever give her the starring role again. But I'm SO happy to see I was wrong! And personally I think they really knocked it out of the park here! This game was cute and fun way beyond what I was expecting. And I can genuinely see myself coming back to 100% it. I mean, ANY game that has Princess Peach in jeans is good in my book!

No but seriously, fun game! I loved this a lot!

Yeah as I said at the start I'm trying to wrap up stuff I'm doing so I can go deal with some OTHER stuff and get things prepared for next year (hopefully) in my life. Currently I've been playing my ASS off trying to beat a game that's completely brand new to me. It's part of a long running series I've actually never beaten a game from before so I'm excited to see it through.

That one's talking about Sullivan from Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun!

As you can tell from the AITA, the story follows fourteen year old Iruma Suzuki, after his shitty parents sell him to a demon, only for said demon to become his grandpa. Now he's going to demon school and making friends <3 It's a comedy series first and foremost, but it's got a lotof heart to it, and a lot of adorable moments.

The series has both an anime and a manga. The manga doesn't have an official english version though, so read it on mangadex

Pros of the Anime (3 seasons):

great voice acting, both sub and dub

great music

added musical numbers? (good for the idol arcs, at least)

Cons of the Anime

rather stiff animation

the battler party arc in the first season drags for SO LONG good lord

Pros of the Manga (300+ chapters)

the art gets absolutely GORGEOUS as the series goes on

extremely great expression work, great use of textures, great character design

runs longer than the anime (duh)

rough translations until Misfit Scans take over

early art is a lil meh (but still cute!)

some lingering beta designs for some of the cast

If you read the manga on mangadex, do use Misfit Scans' translations whenever possible. They redid the first volume and take over at chapter 44, so translations from chapter 7 to 43 can get.. rough. Wicked House is not good.

Anyway, yeah! Mairuma is a super great comfort series for me. Plot kicks in later, but it's mainly about Iruma growing as a person. I'd imagine he resonates a lot with neglected or absued people - the fantasy of this poor kid getting whisked away into a new life and family that loves him. Iruma starts out as meek, as a total pushover, to his own detriment. And "Iruma can't say no to anything" is constant weakness of his, but his kindness is also his strength - his willingness to help others is what shakes the individualist society of the netherworld at its core.

The series also places a lot of focus on greed as a positive thing, which is fantastic! Iruma is confronted with his own desires, time and time again. What does he want? How will he take it? Demons are selfish creatures, and he's one of them now! So, be a demon! Fight for your desires!

It's just great okay.

We also have a canonically NB catperson (thank you Opera), the most poly subtext I've ever damn well seen in a work ever (thank you love trio), canonically lesbian pop idols (gyari my beloved).

Main downside of the cast is there is ONE obligatory pervert character but a) never actually succeeds in putting fanservice offscreen b) much less grating presence than M*neta c) at least has SOME character stuff going on outside that. My favorite arc w him has him competing with a girl to see who's the most elegant beast tamer and it's played entirely straight.

otherwise. super cute series. traumatized kid finally gets to go out of survival mode. a lot of things abt iruma as a character are shaped by that trauma and it SHOWS and the harvest festival arc in particular is my favorite because he's forced to grapple with his lasting fear of abandonment and all that good stuff, BUT HIS FRIENDS ALWAYS COME THRUUU!!! THEY'LL STICK BY HIM FOREVER!!!

The Avengers are fighting against madame Hydra and her troops

"Parker! Status?" Tony's voice crackles through the intercom whilst Peter fights against a group of Hydra soldiers which seems to just keep on increasing in number.

"Uh Mr Stark things are getting a little crowded over here a little back up would be nice" Peter replies back struggling to keep up the fight as he successfully webs up a bunch of the soldiers. But to his surprise a whole new troop emerges from nowhere.

"Oh no! Karen activate instant kill!" Karen activates the instant kill mode but it still wasn't enough to tackle the whole army as Peter was soon outnumbered. One of the soldiers threw a gamma ray infused bomb which if detonated can be catastrophic to anyone who is hit by its radiation. The bomb detonates with a huge blast but to Peter’s surprise a forcefield forms around it containing the blast inside it, soon the forcefield disintegrates, sucking in the deadly radiation with it like a black hole sucks in everything into it.

"Woah! what the hell was that?!" Peter was awestruck at what just happened.

Suddenly a feminine figure appeared out of the thin air in front of Peter. She was wearing a blue suit which hugged her curves perfectly, hair cascading down her shoulders. And as she turned to face him Peter felt like he was hit by a truck, it was you. He stood there like a statue still processing what he was seeing.

"You're welcome by the way" you quipped, breaking him out of his daze.

"Who are you?" Peter asks though he knew very well who you're but seeing you like this was a huge shock to him.

"Y/N Y/L/N aka storm and you're the famous spiderman"

"Yeah I'm indeed" he chuckles nervously, he was grateful that he was wearing his mask so you couldn’t see his face. You were about to say something when you got interrupted.

"Great work, Y/N" Tony's voice buzzed.

"Thank you Mr Stark" you and Peter fought side by side forcing the Hydra to retreat accepting their defeat.

"No I can do this!" You assured him as you managed to diffuse the radiation inside the field, finally letting go. Your body was completely drained out, your vision blurring out as you collapsed unconscious.

"Y/N!" Peter was quick to catch you. You were immediately rushed to the med bay in the compound. Banner checked your vitals and everyone was relieved that you were fine but you needed a long bed rest to recover.

You woke up after how long you don't know but your body felt rejuvenated. You sit up to find Peter sitting beside you dozing in his sleep. Your slight movement woke him up.

"Oh Y/N! thank god you're finally awake" he sprung up to his feet "How are you feeling?"

Summary : Headcannons for these One Piece Boys and their ideal girlfriend.

Luffy

Definitely someone adventurous. Luffy loves to go out and explore new things, to go on adventures and enjoy the experience, so he’d want someone who loves to be outgoing as him.

You’ll have to be strong. Not crazy strong like the monster trio, but be able to handle and take care of yourself while he’s busy. Of course, Luffy will always protect you, but he doesn’t want to see you get hurt. He won’t be able to stop that if he doesn’t get there on time, so someone who can fend for themselves for even a little bit is nice.

Fearless and bravery is always a plus. He loves people who have no hesitation nor doubts to go through with something, since Luffy tends to go into battle without thought.

Share his excitement and joy for childish things, but please be more mature than him. A relationship with two Luffy’s would never get anywhere, considering how stubborn and reckless Luffy can be, so someone who can be serious when time calls for it is preferred.

Love his brothers, please. If you don’t respect his brothers or get along with them, he might not really be too interested in you. And his crew. If you don’t appreciate his crew and hate on them, he won’t hesitate to kick you off the ship. That’s how much he loves and cares for his brothers and nakama.

Sanji

Like Ace, Someone who truly cares about him and understands the real him. Someone who knows of his flaws and his personality but still love him for him.

Love food, never waste it. And if you ever cook or want to cook, he’ll be so happy and excited to share tips or teach you, he loves you so much.

You’ll have to understand his tendency to love all women. He grew up to respect women so he’ll treat all women lovingly and dearly, like glass. He’ll treat you with special affection, yes, but that won’t stop him from caring for the other women he meets, but he will try to not go overboard.

Heartfelt and deep conversations about each other’s pasts and sweet memories. He loves this time because he can be close with you and spend time, whilst learning about you and hearing you talk for hours and your sweet voice is music to his ears.

You’ll have to love and be okay with how affectionate he is. It might be overbearing or a little too much, and he’ll try to tone it down, but understand that he loves you and he never would have imagined he’s actually dating someone, y’know? He’s a romantic but he IS inexperienced for a bit.

Zoro

Someone who’s strong, of course. He’ll want to be reassured you can handle yourself and he won’t need to be there 24/7, because he won’t always be available. But will definitely risk his life for you, just like Luffy. Luffy’s more important though-

Zoro focused on training and following Luffy, so if you support him, he’ll love you. Don’t try to stop him from pursuing his dream nor from being by Luffy’s side. He’ll be cold-hearted in seconds.

Zoro does forget many things though, so having you there to remind him to eat and remember to rest and not overwork himself too much is always appreciated, he feels loved.

As much as he complains about Luffy being stubborn, I believe he actually likes that aspect. Stubbornness can be a cute trait.

As long as it’s not too annoying, he thinks it’s cute when you get all pouty, stubborn or annoyed at him, or tend to get violent to him when he teases you.

Ace

Someone who truly loves him, even knowing true identity and all of his personal flaws and weaknesses.

Someone who gets along with his brothers for sure, and understand that Ace will never stop loving his brothers. They will come before you, it’s a fact.

If you join the Whitebeard Pirates, he’ll be glad in knowing that he can protect you better and even have his brothers to support him and help him to protect you at all costs.

He prefers someone small and adorable, who can give cute reactions when he teases or flirts with them, and even better if you try to flirt back, whether you fail or not.

He loves someone who can share deep conversations with and stay up all night talking about anything and never be bored. He loves jokes too, so making each other smile is much preferred.

Law

Someone who’s extremely calm and collected in serious situations.

He needs a level-headed significant other who can keep him relaxed because lord knows how stressed this boy can get.

Someone who can understand his need for peace and personal space, whilst give him the touch-starved love he wants and needs, even if he doesn’t say it aloud.

Law is often busy so he does forget to eat and sleep every once in a while, so a nice reminder for him, someone who cares quietly by leaving him snacks or offering small massages to relieve his tense muscles.

Doing the little things for him without him even asking can get his heart beat going and he’ll fall in love with you slowly but surely.

Kid

Someone who’s bad ass as fuck. A bad chick who’s strong as hell and isn’t afraid to show off their skills and properly represent what it means to be a pirate.

He likes a girl with some-self confidence and maybe a bit of violent tendencies? Someone with a sharp tongue maybe, but if you overdo it and try to pick fights with him, it’s over.

He’s not into the ones who complain or whine too much, so none of that for him.

Betrayal is a huge no. He wants someone loyal, who, even though is bad ass and rather bold in actions, to understand his life as a pirate and still deeply love and care for him,

whilst understanding that Kid may not know how to properly give affection back, since he’s rather rough and can be harsh even though he doesn’t mean it sometimes.
