RB's Japanese racer on his love of saunas, good coffee and - well, food, of course

Fashion

I like fashion. I like to choose my outfit according to my mood or where I'm going. And I like to show my colours, if you like. In short, it feels good to look good.

Food

There's no particular cuisine I like, but for me a good meal is a kind of tool to reduce stress and feel happier. It doesn't matter what kind of food it is - if it's good, I enjoy it, whether it's tacos or sushi. I really like pasta. When I'm in Italy that's what I usually eat. But it's important for me, wherever we go, to find a good restaurant so I can enjoy the food. Because in a way, as strange as it may sound, it gives me the same feeling as driving a Formula 1 car. When I drive, I just concentrate on that. It's not that I don't think - of course I do, especially during the race - but when it comes to driving, it's more about the senses than thoughts. When I'm driving I don't think about anything else. And it's almost the same with food. You just enjoy the taste and flavour - and I really like that!

Nature

We travel a lot and are surrounded by electronics and computers, Laptops, telemetry, data is our world - and sometimes it's just too much. So I like to get away from it all, to go hiking, for example, or just get out into nature and experience a different environment to Formula 1.

Jason Statham

Definitely my favourite actor, especially after meeting him in Abu Dhabi last year. I've always liked his films and Transporter is my favourite - but sometimes when you meet your hero and get to know the person better, you can be disappointed, can't you? It wasn't like that with Jason. He is such a great guy, really nice, talkative, very respectful and really, really strong! He's got everything you need. He's strong, he looks cool, he's bald. I might go bald in the future to look more like him...

Singing

I'm not the one who sings in the shower, but I do sing in the car. I just feel like it, to feel the rhythm, to have fun. And when I'm singing, I feel like a real singer.

Saunas

It's something I like to use to reset. 20 minutes in the sauna, then a cold shower and lying down - at that moment I feel like I'm in space. And it is an incredible feeling. It feels like your body is resetting itself. It feels like all the stress I have, it just comes out with the sweat, so after the sauna I feel fresh. Like a brand new me. It's funny, I didn't really like it before, but my friends kept telling me how great it was. So one day I just decided to give it another try and finally understood what they were talking about. Now it's one of my favourite things to do: just go to the sauna and relax.

Coffee

I have a good coffee machine at home. I like to grind coffee beans in the morning and make myself a good cup of coffee. Good coffee makes my day.

Wine

I don't drink alcohol very often, to be honest. And I'm not a guy who knows a lot about wine, about different types and varieties of wine. I'm not an expert, if you like. But it's nice to have a glass of wine with good food. It helps you enjoy it even more

Apex Legends

I used to play a lot more when I moved to Europe from Japan - and Apex Legends was my favourite game. I don't play as much now, but during my junior career it was a way to keep in touch with my friends in Japan because we were so far apart. Of course you can call and chat, but doing something together, playing and talking at the same time, is a lot more fun.

Football

I sometimes play football with the mechanics, engineers and other guys from the team in Faenza. And I love it. Because first of all I like the game itself, but then it's also good to hang out with the guys from the team - especially considering that it's usually the guys who don't go to races and stay at the factory, so it's also a good opportunity to bond with them.

ok but that “hey” vid from Max/GP that you reposted has me in my feels. I love sweet angel Max and his softness but I also love absolute brat Max and I feel like we haven’t spoken about him in a bit.

Any thoughts on that? Preferably no nonsense GP reeling him back in?

GP should have known it would be a challenging day when Daniel sheepishly handed Max over at the RB garage today.

Max’s brows furrowed in a stroppy frown, Daniel pushing an overfilled bag into GP’s arms. “Leo’s in there too.” Daniel offers, shoots GP his trademark grin before pressing two quick kisses to Max’s head.

“Be a good boy. Make good choices. I love you.” Daniel says, unaffected by Max squirming away from the kisses and pressing a final one to his nose for good measure.

“Short night, didn’t finish his breakfast. Good luck today. Sorry we’re late.” He adds before he’s rushing out the garage.

A mechanical failure before FP2 doesn’t help, especially when it means Max can’t partake in the session leaving him even more grumpy.

He’s stomping around in little socked feet, tight shoes already kicked off and discarded somewhere while he’s distracting the engineers. GP’s trying to keep an eye on him, while simultaneously getting as much data from their only other running car. He quickly realizes that’s not going to be working and excuses himself to go deal with Max.

“Let’s go.” GP says, startling Max as he puts a hand on his shoulder, earning himself a sour pout.

“Where?”

“To your room, we can have a bit of quiet time.”

The pouts sours even more. “No nap!”

GP suppresses a sigh, he’d specifically avoided the word nap even though he knows there’s nothing more Max would benefit from right now than said nap, however convincing the little of that would be more difficult.

“Come on,” GP says hand going from Max’s shoulder to his bicep to move him along so they can move the somewhat imminent tantrum somewhere more private. “Let’s go find Leo.”

Max tries to dig his heels in, but the socked feet leave little to no grip as GP’s pulling him out into the hallway, starts sputtering his protests while trying to pluck GP’s fingers off his arm, pinching GP’s hand. “No! No no no no.”

“Max,” GP warns, unfaltering in his pace but turning to look at Max briefly. “Stop that, please.”

Unfortunately, Max’s drivers room is locked, GP has a key for emergencies but taking his hand off of Max proves to be a mistake when the younger takes that opportunity to bolt.

“Max!” GP groans, unlocking the door before taking off after his little escape artist, once again helped by Max’s socked feet and a clearly regressed Max unable to navigate their slipperiness.

Max goes up and over his shoulder despite the protest that start up the second GP gets his hands on him and the engineer cringers inwardly at the scene that’s creating, making quick work of getting them into the private room, praying for semi sound proof walls.

The squirming boy over his shoulder gets put down in front of him and GP gently puts his hands on both of Max’s shoulders to keep him in place. “GP’s gonna give you two options. Either you sit your bum down on the couch or you’ll sit your bum down facing the wall if you need to calm down some more. Which one, buddy?”

“You can’t put my bum anywhere!” Max argues back, jaw set and square, defiance written over his face just like when he doesn’t get his way.

GP raises his eyebrows, unimpressed expression taking over his face as he watches Max’s expression change. Max calls it his “uh-oh face” which would be cute (it is) if it weren’t that GP’s uh oh face only comes out when Max is pushing his luck.

“Couch.” Max whines when GP’s expression doesn’t change and GP lets go of his shoulders so Max can stomp his way over to the couch.

GP takes a breath before he goes for the overstuffed backpack, barely getting the zipper open before he’s emptying its contents, eyes landing on a fruit pouch.

“Do you want a snack?” GP asks, holding out the pouch, watching Max reach out for it and feeling content he seems to have found something that isn’t answered with protest.

The contentment lasts mere seconds when Max takes a closer look at the pouch and throws it to the other side of the room. “Yuck.”

“Max Emilian.” GP scolds, getting back up and grabbing Max’s arm, getting the younger up and off the couch before marching him right up to the thrown pouch. “Pick that up.”

Max’s eyes are quickly filling with tears, reaching down to pick it back up and holding it out to GP as he bites back a sob.

“That’s a better decision, buddy.” GP soothes, taking the pouch from Max before walking him over to the discarded back, starting to pull Max’s arms out of the sleeves of the race suit Max still has on.

“Noooo.” That pulls the first sob from the younger, dejectedly allowing GP to move both of his arms out of the uncomfortable material.

GP knows Max knows this is the first step for nap time, but he needs to get through these steps as quickly as possible to be able to get the little guy some comfort.

“I know, bud.” GP soothes, pushing the suit down his hips and helping him step out of it. “That’s a good boy, look at you.”

Despite the praise it earns him another sob, and with the suit off of Max’s body GP reaches for the joggers Daniel’s packed, pulling out Leo with it and offering him to Max.

The plush gets snatched up and Max’s buries his wet face into it while GP gently lifts Max’s feet one at a time before pulling them up over his bum before snatching a blanket up and moving both him and Max over to the couch.

Luckily Max goes easier than before, GP cradling Max into his lap sideways while his legs curl up partially onto the couch, struggling for space as his thumb finds his mouth and he tries fitting himself and Leo into GP’s chest.

GP drapes the blanket over Max, wrapping his arms around him and gently shushing the audibly upset little, pressing a soft kiss to Max’s head. “That’s it. You’re ok. Where’s my good boy, hm?”

It’s a minute or two before Max’s breathing calms down and the tears lessen, exhaustion clear on his face when he looks up at GP. “I’m sorry.”

“I know,” GP soothes, brushing at Max’s cheeks. “Thank you for apologizing. You’re ok.”

It lessens some left over tension in Max’s shoulders as he buries back into GP’s chest, the elder gently patting Max’s hair. “Nap doesn’t sound too bad now, does it?”

Max shakes his head, squeezing himself closer patting at GP’s chest. “Love.”

GP lets out a soft sigh, squeezing back. “Love you too.”

Digimon (Mainly Xros Wars sorry) headcanons/aus that I keep thinking from 2013 to now, that probably should post it online and then kept inside cause I was scared of the fandom back then lol

So.. how I am going to start this

Also, please don't give fandom hate in my replies/rb, I don't care if a media has a lot of flaws but there are some people who enjoy it so be respectful

Let's go with this first cause my head screaming for Legends crossover ever since I read a fanfic of Daisuke/Davis as Takuya's cousin and screamed about @/digitalgate02 blog about the Legends au (actually I still screamed about this for years ever since the crossover episode but at the time, only popular crossover fanfic with all Digimon characters was kinda disappointing and kinda not like characters at all, let say Taichi character on that fanfic is a dick, actually most of them are assholes that my younger self patient to wait a few years to see there new content but still less but hey, at least there new good fanfics)

Btw you can scream about shipping hcs I don't mind, I kinda still ship Kiritai but not much as my 9 years old did, however, please block me if you ship minors characters with adult characters

Xros Over with The Legends with new legends heroes (the legend heroes adult/teens here cause Xros Wars timeline is 2013 ish idk) :

The Legends is very worried about Taiki cause Taiki ain't hiding he is traumatized and feels about to snap, he even smiles about it like that not a big deal to him

Taiki will need to be dragged by other Legends cause that boy helping people non stop that he forgot his self-care

The Legends want Taiki to give therapy but Taiki always refused, but..

"Taiki-san, you need therapy.. what do you mean you didn't deserve to have a dream cause it's selfish???" (Taichi, Daisuke, etc)

"I don't need therapy besides a therapist probably can't deal with our adventures.." Taiki reminded them that no one would understand Digital World problems

"You know what, let's ask DATS to make a psychologists branch for traumatized Digidestined Kids" (Masaru)

"Wait, you don't need-" Taiki panicked

"As a president of Aonuma Corps, I will fund you a lot if they decided to make it"

"Wait, KIRIHA?!" (Taiki)

'Ah, of course, Kiriha gonna be Taiki's sugar daddy... For Taiki's well-being,' Tagiru and Yuu thought at the same time

4. Once in a while, they would have a soccer match after ending an evil world ending Digimon for relaxing, let's say Taiki is so athletic and flexible he becomes Messi

5. Masaru can take care of Taiki even though he is bad at food related, if they lived in Digital World for a while, he would give Taiki poison berries cause he thinks it's food as long you can eat it. Shoutmon will in despair again and just shouted at them to live in his kingdom before Taiki eat that berries

6. Daisuke, Taiki, and Takato only ones that can cook properly but with Taiki low self-care, it's just two of them can handle it

7. Ever since Taiki can hear digimelody, Taiki can hear and talk to Digispirits and eventually became Agnimon gossip listener, more like a rant about Takuya being an idiot

8. They acknowledged that Taiki is smarter than them in strategizing but still wonder why he so bad at keeping his well-being

9. They really need to get used to Taiki passing out shenanigans cause they keep getting a heart attack

10. They wonder if they were a family, so they vote Taichi is the tired dad lmao

11. One time when they get asked most dangerous they did, Taiki answered to them that he almost die, why? Cause to escape a kingdom was needing Taiki's death data

All the legends atp want to pass out cause this kid is more self-sacrificial and have no fear of death

12. Taiki sometimes rambles to them about Kamen Rider all the time, he talk non stop about Shoutaro from Kamen Rider W and Takeru from Kamen Rider Ghost (Geez is that where Taiki learn recklessness from- /hj)

Xros Wars & Hunters :

Xros Heart Team is a pseudo-family, Taiki the Mom, Kiriha The Dad, Nene the Mom while Yuu the Child

Taiki is spoils Tagiru a lot even though he is a mentor because he see him as little brother too

Taiki kinda seen him in Tagiru after he knows that Tagiru risk his safety for his friends, he want to tell him that his safety also important but he feel hypocrite about himself so he decided to not tell him about it

If Akari can't take care Taiki for a while, Kiriha would go Taiki house with a private jet even though he was in America for a meeting but knowing Taiki, he knows he need to go there fast, he would barge in kicking his door and dragged him to eat and drink water

Tagiru secretly blame himself and think he is stupid because he think if he smarter enough, Taiki couldnt get hurt by Quartzmon, and he has secretly inferiority complex, that why he want to surpass Taiki. he see Taiki as a rival role model, multi talented kid he never become, once he do this with other kid when he was younger but people thought he an attention seeker child and have few friends, he cherished those friends that he risk his safety for them so he feel useful for them

Yuu realized Tagiru problems with his lack of safety that...

"Tagiru, I don't care, I will drag you down to Therapy center if that the last thing i do, i have money from Nee-san so you don't worry about the pay"

7. Taiki can't mad mad, he doesn't want to be mad so every time he feel angry that he start to cry

8. Kiriha secretly loves to spoils Xros Heart Team with expensive gifts

9. Taiki learn to give someone speech of friendship /hj and punch them from his hospitalized friend

10. Tagiru sometimes feel like doesn't deserve Taiki's goggles

11. Ever since Taiki can hear digimelody, he can play music pretty well, just not singing

Now to the AUs, i currently have one, this one that keep me brainstorming so much that went into my dream,

Timeline Fixers AU:

This AU inspired some from HSR, but there a twist

There also some suicidal tendencies so if you don't want to read it, skip it to other crossover

Tagiru is kinda similiar to canon but kinda chill but after prologue, his mischievous side rises

Prologue titled 'If he always do this, so i can too' : Tagiru and Taiki do school as usual, everything back to normal, Tagiru is junior in highschool while Taiki is a senior that gonna graduate but there actually wrong with Taiki but Tagiru doesn't know what so he ignore it until Taiki say anything but .. when he saw Taiki casually walk to cross the road while car gonna hit him, he knew he gotta save his mentor and pull him up, after that Taiki broken ever since, Kiriha think this is Taiki snap. Tagiru doesn't know what to do, he want to help him but Taiki look so broken then.. a voice heard his wish, a calm voice saying to his head, "Child Of Destiny, as 7th Legend Hero, your duty came again and try to fix this mess by dimension/space time travel then you can save everyone including your mentor, Taiki Kudou

"Fine then..."

"But child, do you think this is path you want to take, this journey will cost you a lot even your sanity and health"

"It's fine, if Taiki can handle a digimon war so i can too... no matter what, beside this is my payback for him, guiding me all this time"

"Good luck to you, Hunter" then Tagiru take a step in to a space time travelling Trailmon without looking back but he didn't saying a goodbye, not even to Taiki. All he thinks now if the core timeline be at peace, then he can come back

then in Frontier, Shinya become Warrior of Earth and celebrating with the team until an evil digimon attack them out of nowhere, then they lost and Takuya save Shinya life till the very end. Then he heard same voice as Tagiru heard and become a Timeline fixer to save his brother and friends.

this journey take a lot of patience cause fixing and guiding digidestined kids is hard when most of the time, they keep discreet

This aus have timeloop too so when they fail, the timeline reset and start all over again

Because they doesn't want to get recognized, they act discreet and act like a villain more like anti-villain/hero that help/guiding everyone little by little, at first they doesn't want this but after making huge progress with little time, the karma bit their backs and got worst ending so they know they need to stay away as possible and guide them not too much.

When they got caught, they used their fake name like Tagiru is Tsukasa, a reference to Tsukasa Kadoya from Kamen Rider Decade that a lot of dimension think he a villain and Tsukasa force being a villain for the sake of protecting the dimensions. He knows this when Taiki rambles about Kamen rider

while Shinya choose Kyousuke, a reference of Tsurugi Kyousuke, a character of Inazuma eleven, that once a villain but he become one cause he can pay his brother medical surgery etc, in nutshell, want to save his brother

Taiki situation is the same as Emu Hojo in the novel, inspired from that but Taiki situation realizing if he doesn't have a dream so he didn't need a college cause he think so selfish of him doing college even though he blessed being a child-prodigy so he think his life is selfish and become diasosiative state and yknow try to d word himself

While Emu in that novel is a young kid that rough life, have a absent parent that didn't care about him, make himself clumsy so he can go to clinic for affection, attention cause he never got that from his father, eat frozen food cause he don't know how to make food then play video games, he thought his life is a like game so he think if he died, he can game restart and he did by crossing a road even though the red light still on and a car crash into him, luckily he survived but he forgot why he did it in the first place

A/N : Tbh i thought XW written by Kamen Rider Ex-Aid writer cause how similar but no, it's actually Kamen Rider W/Drive, the most normal and not too angsty Kamen Rider i ever seen

Timeline Fixer basically Stellaron Hunters but Homura-fied and fixes every world/timeline danger secretly so no one knows and every timeline can be at peace so basically villains that actually not villains that guiding the characters little by little by giving hints and act like a mysterious villains that doing work in the dark, while talks mysteriously and giving mysterious hints

For now, i can think only two for this team, maybe i can add more if i can

After Tagiru became a Timeline Fixer, he suddenly more edgelord lmao but he still himself with more michevious side, basically like Kafka

Shinya somewhat a walking Informant so he can remind Tagiru the script of how its going to happen

The Timeline now a mess and the evil digimons that never seen before appear and not supposed to appear in the core timeline, and need to get rid of it by Timeline Fixers cause the digimons may cause harm to the timeline

Timeline Fixers came before Digidestined children started their hourney watched them far away so they know if there gone wrong or not

Tagiru and Shinya may be same age as before they take their journey as timeline fixers but mentally, they aged A LOT

Their digivice upgraded so much that look like a phone but still has D-Tector or Xros Loader functions with few edition which is can summon a weapon anything so they can fight with digimon partner, their weapons can be more damage if they bond with their digimon partner in sync so well

Tagiru's weapon is a scythe, when he and Arresterdramon in sync, the scythe give Tagiru Ability to sprint fast and past through living being like a ghost.

Shinya's weapon is Earth like knuckles fantasy weapon that help him control Earth powers

Tagiru realized this journey is hard, with his mistakes alone can make timelines messy so he need to serious about it. But like that mysterious digimon voice said before, warning him of the journey he take, this journey will give him a lot of despair, he seen his consequences when take a rash action and put a timeline more messy than it's should be.

As a Timeline Fixer, sure you didn't aged too much but your mental age will increase and increase your maturity too but you will suffer an eternity of regrets, sorrow and despair. But as long, you have Courage, Hope, Bravery, and Friendship etc (i forgot most crests so forgive me) alongside you.. you can breathe easily and fight that despair.

Gumdramon know Tagiru despair is like an abyss now so he take some of his despair so Tagiru didn't feel left out. Tagiru opposes this idea from the start cause he don't want Gumdramon berserk and lose his old self but Gumdramon disagree and do it anyway. He didn't go berserk and changed his form (? I have low knowledge of digimon) to Dark Gumdramon, his looks more menacing now but he still his old self, but more protective to Tagiru and Shinya.

that is probably that it's for now, there another au but it's still unfinished lol and sorry for the angst

Once again i wanna say just how much i love your blog and your posts. I wanna cram every info inside my brain ngl so that I am able to understand the races in a different light. Can i ask for some recs for extra reading or youtube vlogs to understand the races better? I saw some resources on your page (such as the f1 tech reddit page and some youtube pages too) and i m checking those out too so that i can understand the tech side better and their choices for strategies and all that. Video Content

Formula 1 Tech Talks It's official F1 content with different people. They always talk about something relevant to specific races and it's often very informative and interesting.

There is this playlist from the Tech Talk Demos that talk about about a lot of different F1 car parts and demonstrate how they work.

There are more Tech Talks but not all are in that playlist so you just have to search the youtube channel for it.

Chainbear on YouTube He makes a lot of content about like everything! He has a video about Hungary strategy. He pretty much has a video about how and why things went down the way that they did about most races, lovely illustrations/ animation and explains things really well.

Or this video about the basics of race strategy as a whole.

He also has some videos about technical things like tyres, and engines and these sort of things. He is one of the best entry points into learning about how things work and why they happen the way they do.

Driver61 on YouTube He talks more about driver specific things and used to be a racing driver. So he has videos on things like how Checo is so good at saving his tyres.

brrake on YouTube and twitch He used to be a performance engineer for multiple F1 teams and was working for RB recently (he brings it up any chance he has). His personality is not for everyone but his videos are still informative and interesting and he does know what he is talking about. He also does race and quali watchalongs if that's your thing. Ahead of qualifying he ususally looks at some data from FP3 and analyses it on stream, but you can watch them back. He also now has a podcast but I haven't listened to a single episode no clue how good that one is.

His video about the Dutch GP is really interesting.

f1toni is on TikTok and twitch (I've only seen her TikToks) she talks a lot about F1 things in general like all aspects of F1, history, the regs, contracts and so on. And often highlights Women in Motorsport. Really worth a follow if you have TikTok.

Molly @ abunchofredf1ags on TikTok She's an engineer and makes a whole bunch of videos about again all sorts of things. Not all videos are super serious but she also explains a lot of tech things.

They are always in Italian so you if you translate it somethings are gonna sound weird but the rest makes sense. Also talks about car upgrades and their impact amongst other things.

@ ProjectF1 Does analysis on twitter and has some lovely plots.

@ ScarbsTech Tweets a lot about the technical aspects and upgrades and all sorts of technical things. He is one of the guys that does the F1 Tech Talk that is featured on F1TV.

There's something I've noticed a lot more recently as I've taken up my late grandmother's genealogist role in my family's Scottish clan (something which still sounds fictional to me) which I see as yet another example of well-meaning white settler leftists approaching important conversations with a very flawed mindset consisting of what some would call "white guilt" and the self-sacrificial or "repentant" approach to decolonization that lets you skip learning about any culture at all! You can just say "I'm a white settler on stolen land. That sucks and I hate it." and buy an orange shirt on the internet while you're supposed to be doing your day job for the government.

This isn't about giving up your own cultural identity as a "sacrifice" to those who have had them stripped away. The goal is always to know more about ourselves, each other, and the unbelievable extent to which our ancestors documented everything they could about themselves. No matter how unimportant you might think your middle-class suburban family might be, there are millions of people dedicating their entire lives and careers to using every bit of data they can find to make leaps in understanding I couldn't piece together if I tried.

Do you resent your rich, white, Catholic upbringing? Don't you want to just forget it all, throw out those dumb old documents, and renounce your European origins in solidarity with the indigenous peoples? Well, first of all, uniteforchange.com is a good place for folks in "Canada" to start out if you're in a position to pay reparations (folks encouraged to rb with international community/mutual aid funds) but please make sure your family documents remain in caring hands! Donate them to a university or research institute, or any sort of passionate genealogist in your family or community so the knowledge doesn't just rot in your poorly-insulated attic.

Or read the documents yourself! Bring them to a local library and scan them, upload them to a database like familysearch.org or geneanet.org and figure out why your family is catholic, what they may have practiced before, and how you ended up as a settler rather than living in Ireland, or Italy, or Hungary, or anywhere else considered "white" enough (nowadays) to get the "good" side of colonialism: having their culture leeched out of them whilst participating in the destruction of others, rather than being destroyed.

Decolonialism isn't ever about hating your identity and trying to bury it out of shame, or appropriating another culture that feels "better" to your conscience. It's about understanding yourself, hard realities and all, looking back at the countless people who were silenced before their voices could be heard, and fighting like hell for the people who still have the chance.

Realizing your history should disturb rather than comfort you, but realizing your privilege should not demoralize you; it should empower you.

Steps of filing VAT return in UAE!

tumblr etiquette 101

a list that is nowhere near exhaustive, from yours truly.

First off, welcome! Whether you’re a twitter veteran looking for anything but whatever twitter is, or a new user just done signing up, glad to see you in our ranks beloveds! Welcome home. Refer to this quick tour to make sure your fandom experience (or tumblr experience in general) is a positive one!

Disclaimer: I know it’s long, but please try to read or skim through til the end if you’re new here! This is by no means meant to be a rule book (for the most part lol), only a guide to help you get settled easier!

1) Your blog

This is where people will see and interact with you, so put some effort into it!

Try to choose a name (url) that’s simple. You can see it as your brand, it’s how people will perceive you and remember you. If you’d like to interact with other users here (and not use the site just for the content) it’s better to have something short and sweet, preferably without spaces. (Of course, these are only suggestions.) Rest assured, you can change it literally any time you want.

Have a theme. Utilize the tool that lets you edit your blog’s color or the font of your bio! You can make it match your profile picture, or your blog if it has a theme of its own. Make it feel homey :]

Fill in your bio. People will be checking out your profile probably more often than you think. Don’t leave it empty! Put in any information you’re comfortable with sharing and isn’t too personal (like your age if you’re a minor, or other TMI that can be found on other people’s carrds). It’s always better to add a name/nickname people can use to refer to you by, but feel free to use your blog description to shitpost still.

You can have an intro post. More often than not, you’ll see a blog have a pinned post, a post permanently appearing at the top of a blog until you pin another post or unpin it. You can make one of those, if you’d like to introduce yourself in more length, link any other socials or a carrd, and show others visiting your blog how you tag things so it’ll be easy for them to navigate. Not an obligation.

Keep your anonymity and your safety. It should go without saying, but there’s no harm in repeating it just in case. Your comfort, privacy and safety has the utmost importance. Don’t share any information you don’t want to. Don’t share your age if you’re a minor, or any other incredibly personal info. I’d encourage you to go by a nickname that’s not your real name, (blog name, your brand, remember?) since there’s safety in anonymity, and that’s lowkey one of the big deals of tumblr, but that’s up to you still.

Choose what you want to be visible. Your liked posts and who you follow are all things you can set to keep to yourself and hide from the publics eye, how handy! You should go through all the setting while you’re at it, set it to your comfort.

Side blogs are a thing. You can have multiple blogs that you can use for different things (see: different fandoms, art blog, etc) to keep them organized or away from your followers. Just remember that the replies and off-anon asks you send will be from your main blog, as well as where you follow other blogs from.

2) Interacting with others

You’ve set up your account, now comes the fun part!

Follow to your heart’s desire. If you care about others seeing who you follow, fear not! In tumblr, usually only two types of blogs keep their following visible to others: newbies, and big blogs using it to point people on other good blogs’ direction. Just turn it off, and go ham following people.

Customize your dashboard. Gonna mention just two things here: this is another reason why it’s really important that you follow blogs without sparing, your dash will collect dust otherwise; and you should turn off “best stuff first” in your dashboard settings, to have a better community here and all.

Follow tags. You can set it in your settings that posts with your followed tags appear on your dashboard.

You can check the og post for edits and context. When you see a reblogged post you don’t understand the context of (or don’t recognize the character in case of fanarts), click on the profile so it will take you to the original post. From there you can check the original poster’s tags to get the context, or see if there have been any edits made to the post, since when you edit a post it doesn’t update any past reblogs.

Send people asks... This is how you make mutuals, people! Do it off-anon if you’d like them to know your blog, or anon if you’d rather not! (You can still end your messages with a signature to show you’re the same person, -[name] is one example.) Send them nice messages, ask their opinion on something, discuss things, or just straight up shitpost lol. Go wild. The sky’s your limit and it’s definitely more than 280 characters.

...and let them ask you! You can set your preference in the settings, do it on desktop tumblr to access more settings tho! What you can customize on mobile is limited (like letting people ask you things anonymously, that’s only on desktop settings). In my personal opinion, it’s always better to tag their username (or a nickname you give them, if they’re a friend) on that post, since you wouldn’t want your interactions with your friends to get buried in your blog forever.

Comment on posts. If you have something to say but don’t want the post to appear on your blog you can add a comment. The owner of the post will get a notif for it, but for anyone else you need to tag them.

For the love of god, reblog. People will only see your liked posts if you have it visible to public and they specifically go on your blog to look at them. You like something? You reblog. It’s already hard for posts to circulate properly, if you don’t reblog them literally no one will see them. If not for anything do it for the artists. Just hold and drag on mobile to fast rb.

3) Your Posts

Finally here! Don’t be a lurker, post and engage!

Make use of “read more”. If your post is long, add it. That’s what you clicked on earlier to expand this post. On desktop leave an empty line and you’ll see three dots appear, and on mobile type :readmore: on that empty line.

Draft a post to come back to it later. Pretty self explanatory.

Queue your post. Whether it’s your own post or you’re reblogging, make use of the queue feature to a) not spam reblog and fill up the dashboard of people following you and b) keep your blog active while you’re gone. Mess around in the settings, it’s fairly easy to set up.

Schedule your post. Same as queueing, the only difference is you get to choose the exact time your post will go up. Handy if you want to schedule a post for certain dates like april fools, or 5 years in the future for some reason. 

Format your texts. You can do all kinds of fancy stuff here (that’s a link, try pressing on it). Twitter doesn’t have this, make use of it. Changes depending on whether you’re on mobile or desktop. (Desktop has less features.)

Check your stats. If you’re trying to understand the algorithm better or want to look at some pretty graphs you can get your data on that on desktop tumblr.

@ people in comments. You’ll get all the notifs when people comment on your posts but they won’t see your reply unless you tag them in your message.

4) Tags, and tagging a post

This is where my earlier statement “this isn’t a rule book” stops being applicable. It’s not a war crime to go against these, I won’t come chasing you (don’t take my word for this) but you’ll work up a bad rep. Just saying lol.

Do NOT crosstag posts. It’s really tempting to add unrelated tags to increase your posts’ interaction, I know, but that’s not what tumblr is about. Don’t be a dick and make other communities’ experience worse for them.

Always tag your posts with “crit/critical/discourse/etc” if it calls for it. There’s no exceptions to it. This is the reason you see people migrating to tumblr. Let people enjoy things.

Don’t main tag a critical/negative post. If your crit post is about “Thing”, you add the “Thing critical” tag, but not the “Thing” tag. People block crit tags if they don’t want to see it, don’t shove it in their faces by main tagging it. 

If you don’t want to see something, just block it. Another reason why people are able to survive on tumblr. You don’t start discourse, you don’t make call-outs, you block. You can find something for every community you can think of if you go looking for it. The worst of the worst probably won’t ever appear on your dash, but if you’re worried or feel the need for it, you know where the block button is.

Feel free to shitpost or ramble. More often than not you’ll see people rb a post with a comment, and their elaboration will be in the tags. The tags are only visible on your profile and the notifications of the owner of the og blog. Just a thing people do.

Reblog artists’ posts with nice comments in the tags! Commenting on a drawing is usually done through the tags (Not an obligation, again, just a thing people do. Feel free to add your comment on the rb itself if you’d want other people to see it tho!) and leave nice messages for the artists! It’s a win-win for everyone involved. 

If you have more than a single follower, always use the common tw warning tags. You don’t need to tw everything, but tw’ing some common things is the bare minimum human decency. Keep it safe for others. 

Tag a post “long post” if it’s really long. Pretty self explanatory. Don’t make people scroll through all that please lol. 

You can use them to organize your blog. This is more of a pro tip, if you’d like to not miss a post in your blog, cause they will start pilin’ up soon enough.

#Liveblogging is pretty fun. If you’d like to talk to people during streams, don’t forget to add the relevant tags still! Again, you won’t show up on people’s dash otherwise.

I know that ggdd are known at some degree internationally, proven by us being their international fans. But I wonder, and please don't think this as a racist question, how far do you think they break the 'asian' (east/south east/south) circle? Because I know for a fact that a lot of fans from us or eu are chinese or at least 'asian'. I ask this because I experienced difficulty in trying to promote asian culture to westerners

I don't have any demographic surveys handy to give you a definitive answer to your question, Anon, but from what I've seen GG and DD have an extremely broad international appeal.

As the popularity of the Untamed spreads across the globe, so does their popularity inevitably spread. They're growing in popularity in North America, Europe, Australia and NZ, and of course all the Asian/South Asian countries as well, various regions of Africa, South America, etc. And some of the most active fans I've personally seen are the ones from Russia and the Middle East.

I would caution fans to avoid drawing too many conclusions from our own interpersonal experience with people in our daily lives, because our lives and perspectives are always going to have limitations and biases. Instead, I encourage everyone to look to things like view counts for their shows, Twitter trends, sales data and so forth.

Everything I've seen has led me to believe they have an extremely broad appeal that crosses national and cultural lines.

Having said that, I think it's likely that there are barriers in some regions. There are a lot of Westerners who hate reading subtitles, or who have racist biases, or who simply aren't exposed to things outside their immediate culture.

But 'white Westerners' are a minuscule fraction of the overall fanbase anyway. I would urge us Westerners not to measure GG and DD's success based on whether they are widely known and respected in our region. There are billions of people in the markets they're huge in. We don't matter. Oscars and Emmys and Grammys don't matter.

I think a lot of the time Westerners get so full of ourselves that we fail to realize there's a huge world outside our own borders that gets along fine without our involvement or validation.

If you're having trouble promoting Asian culture to Westerners, that's not at all surprising. The West is massively inundated with anti-China messaging, and the US especially is often extremely racist and self-absorbed in general. Same with some parts of Europe.

I personally don't try to promote, rather I try to make connections. It's just more fun to connect with other people who are into some of these things than to try to bang my head against a brick wall of someone else's closed-minded disinterest.

This, exactly, anyone who has watched Monza 2008, with the English comms, would remember Brundle saying how Seb is going to make the other F1 drivers look bad because he is smart, friendly, polite and smiles alot, got nicknamed the Smiling Assassin when he joined RB in 2009, and every single time people would talk about him, they'd mention how nice and respectful he would always be to everyone, from the people in the paddock to his own garage, and then the same media twisted his image when he first properly dominated in 2011, and then just got worse and worse in his time at Ferrari, the only difference being, atleast the tifosi loved him, for everyone else he was always the threat. When I see Merc n LH fans take the higher ground this year in the championship fight, I can only think of all the times they shit talked Seb, Kimi and Ferrari lol, like man went around discussing Ferrari's strategy while depending on team orders to move in front of his team mate, like have some iota of shame. And it's so fun watching RB not pull any punches and play Merc the way they played Ferrari while Ferrari kept quiet and did their thing.

One thing, the F1 page never promotes any of Seb's social messages, so they clearly won't do it even later on, but the media constantly keeps asking him the same questions over and over again, instead of about his races, even though they are all so spineless, they stick to only the environmental causes. Like even after he announced his contract extension, the first question was what will he do after 2022. They have been doing it for so long, so long it actually effing hurts, never gave him any credit for his talent, no ones career has gotten questioned the way his has been, even before last season, when literally everyone else has dropped stinkers of a season. I so wish AM do something, but the way they are working I don't see anything good to come out of it.

And the same people who love him, we're at his throat for Canada 2019 lol, the tractors of 2020&2021 have just made everything worse.

And as for success, Seb was definitely not losing a championship to his teammate, be it Nico or LH himself. 7 years of the most dominant cars, and someone is yet to break many if the individual season records, I don't consider Seb to let go of opportunities to set some more and maybe break his own, knowing his only competition is going to be his teammate. He is extremely temperamental, and that's his biggest flaw as a driver, even this year, it's like if it's not the top 5 he is racing for, he just loses concentration. Man's really is addicted to winning only, lol

And the situation with Kimi has always been annoying, the F1 account actually thought it was a good idea to post a meme compilation, instead of hi best drives on the announcement of his retirement, like please respect the guy who went up against prime Ferrari Michael in a ticking time bomb of a car, and is still Ferrari's last WDC and probably the fastest driver in terms of raw pace since Senna, and I don't think anyone on the grid Kimi has raced with is close to the pace he possesed when had started out in F1.

I guess it's also about how people see the sport, for some the sport itself is important, so knowing the history and the data is fun, for some it's just watching cars go around and enjoying and basing opinions on media narratives.

But it's still annoying af lol
