I actually came up with the idea for this guy over two years ago and never found a chance to properly introduce him. But just a few days ago, my bud @twistedtummies2 finished a multi-part story for me as part of an art trade (you can read it here, here, here, and finally here), which serves as an official introduction for this crabby lad. I highly recommend you check it out, not only did TT2 do a phenomenal job, but it perfectly captures this fella's personality and backstory for those interested. Plus there's vore, which is a plus. XD

Meet Taoka! He's a T/wisted W/onderland OC of mine (that one mobile game with the Disney villains re-imagined as pretty anime bois), based on a certain giant coconut crab who sings a song about shiny stuff.

A flamboyant, shameless kleptomaniac obsessed with things that shine and sparkle, he comes from a poor background and had to fend for himself from very early on. He’s incredibly materialistic and loves showing off the treasures he's acquired (mostly pick-pocketed) over the years, but he’s constantly plagued by a deep insecurity that he has no worth beyond the trinkets he stole.

Besides stuff that glitters, Taoka has a passion for singing, guitar playing, and outrageous glam rock style fashion (he is a student of P/omefiore and even they think he looks a bit garish XD). He dreams about being a famous musician one day, but thanks to an incident in his past that changed his life forever, chasing that dream has been a serious uphill struggle...

Taoka’s Unique Magic is called “Time To Shine,” where he can create incredibly bright displays of bioluminescence, which he can use to blind enemies to make a quick getaway or create a distraction (usually to steal someone's belongings). He can also use light to attract others to him like an angler fish’s lure, filling enemies (or prey) with a strong urge to approach the “shiny things”. However, this doesn't work like actual mind control or hypnosis, so it is possible to resist the allure, although greedy individuals would have a MUCH harder time doing so.

Also, this dude loves to eat. He has a bad habit of stealing people’s food, especially if it has seafood or coconut in it, but he's not picky in the slightest. And yes, since this is MY character, he has eaten people before. Made easier by the fact that, despite his appearance here, he's not quite as human as he looks...

Hey! I love your space fairies and had some questions pop up in my head!

1. How do they handle pressure? I’d imagine they’d find gravity and air pressures quite stifling, if not debilitating!

2. When in an atmosphere like Earth’s, how do they handle the reduced energy from the local star? I bet they’d avoid Venus’s super thick atmosphere!

3. How many colors do they come in? They’re very vibrant, I wonder why they’re so colorful!

4. Are they cold or warm to the touch? Maybe tingly, like they’re electric? Double question: do they prefer being warm or cold? TRIPLE: what temperature extremes can they tolerate; sun side of Mercury or void side of Pluto? Both?!

5. Did humans find them first, or did they find humans first? First contact must have been crazy!

Aaah thank you! I'm glad you like them! I'll do my best to answer! :D

1. Gravity is very tough for the unused fairy, they'll feel heavy and tire fast even if energized by the sun. But in time, they'll build more strength and get a little more used to the constant pressure. So while they'll always feel more restricted on Earth, they won't lie in a pile on the coffeetable forever!

2. It varies from fairy to fairy! Some are much more sensitive to the lessened light while others are just fine. The sensitive ones never visit planets, prefering to stay in space for consistent energy. If they visit a planet like Earth, the average fairy would be fine energy wise. A fairy who's never been to a planet before, will panic the first time they experience the night cycle. But a healthy fairy will have no (health) issue being without light for a while. And you are right that they would hate being on Venus; it's too hot for them to survive!

3. They come in every color! And colors that the human eye can't see. So to other fairies, they're even more vibrant! Their colors also signify health. A bright fairy is a healthy one! If they've been deprived from star/sunlight or are ill, the colors go dull. The colors also helps them stand out from the background so that they can find each other more easily.

4. They have the same temperature as their surroundings so it depends on the temperature of the enviroment! They much prefer to be warm because warmth = energy! Plus their bodies are more flexible when warm! :)

As for the extreme temperature tolerance... They can handle the baseline temperature of space; -454.756°F (-270.4°C) which is just above absolute zero. But it's not preferable as they get very slow and stiff. And their energy levels drop considerably since it would also mean that they're too far from a star. It's by no means a temperature that they can thrive in long term! So yes, they can handle Pluto's dark side temporarily as it's "only" -387°F! On the hottest, they can handle temperatures up to 800°F (430°C). Higher than that and they'll overheat. So yeah, they can handle Mercury too. Their prefered range from a star is Mercury to Earth (depending on the star)!

5. The humans came to their solar system to explore, then the fairies found them! When they came across a human in a spacesuit they worried that they were trapped in the stuff. They could see a (large) fairy shaped being within but they couldn't make a connection with them. So they tried to pick the spacesuit apart and crack the helmet to free them. The poor astronaut went from amazement to pure panic very fast. They managed to retreat back their spaceship, with a little fairy tagging along. After the helmet was removed, the fairy managed to properly connect and was instantly shellshocked by the human mind. xD

rémy would probably get roped into the beach event through azul, since she goes to RSA. if she weren’t in her merform, I just KNOW she would be wearing one of those see through plastic visors, and like a wetsuit with gloves so she won’t sting anyone. rémy’s favorite color is pink, and I imagine she would bring a crap ton of super soakers and IMMEDIATELY regret it as soon as floyd gets one.

Azul and Remy versus Tuna and Floyd, it was a battle to be told in the history of water fights. The extra soakers Remy had brought were perfect for team battles thanks to the variety.

"Alright then..." Azul began announcing "The first team to full destroy the others sandcastle will be the winners. You may only use the water guns to do so!" Floyd rolled his eyes, clearly already thinking to break the only rule. Azul probably already knew this, but he's had to deal with Floyd's antics before and was ready for whatever was thrown at him.

A whistle blew, and the battle began! Floyd and Tuna ran offensive towards Azul and Remy right off the bat. Remy eyed Azul who was guarding their castle and took aim at the invaders! Azul readied his long range blaster. It was a 2 v 1 for the time being as Azul took his sweet time lining up the perfect shot. By the time Azul finally got Tuna to retreat a bit, Remy was soaked to the bone. However Floyd was still charging forth. As he got close to the sandcastle, he used his launcher soaker to get Azul at point blank, like a waterslide jet going right it his face. Azul spat as he had to readjust his glasses.

Floyd went for the final blow, charging his shot and... nothing happened! The launcher-type soaker was only fit for one super shot at a time. While Floyd had been busy sulking back to the water to refill, Remy had taken Tuna by the nose and successfully got a few shots on Floyd and Tunas castle. This left the eel irked and like any rational sore loser, he of course took his frustration out on Tuna.

"We woulda won you seaweed!" Floyd yelled as he finished refilling his watergun. Tuna rolled their eyes "Yea maybe if someone didn't charge in alone!" Remy and Azul watched, holding back their own laughs at the two. The two bickered and began having another water fight. "This is why I knew we'd win~" Azul gave a smirk as he glanced to Remy and continued "We make a great team. perhaps I will have to ask for your assistance in the future as well" Remy relished in the praise before realizing Tuna was getting obliterated in the background... Guess it was time for round two, defend 'princess Tuna'. (refer to Remy's art post for a lovely art of the ending!)

Oof this is going to be a long message, 1.5k words. I'm going to reply to the last half of your message first and leave the psychological bla bla for the end xD

Don't get me wrong, translation is a good thing for those who don't speak many languages and I respect the people who take the time to translate these books, but yes, it gets so jumbled up sometimes. They don't just change the names of characters and places in books to sound better in the language they translate it to, but many times those names are important and because of those changes, they almost completely loose meaning, unless you focus really hard. Same situations with idioms, phrases and the like. Out of my 900 books, about 100 is Hungarian, the rest are English and a couple are Spanish and Korean, but some of those Hungarian translations really made me rethink the translation process when I read the books in their original language, because some of the things did not make sense. But I do have to say, the Hungarian language has such a very diverse vocabulary, it sounds so beautiful when translated. I just wish some of the important elements didn't get lost in translation. I do have to add that Hungarian covers tend to be quite pretty so that's a good thing. :)

Why on were you studying in Hungary? I mean it is true that Hungarian education is cut throat, been there, done that, compared to that my English uni is a holiday, but it's just strange to talk to someone who has studied there as a foreigner. I'm from one of the uni cities, so I have seen a lot of foreigners back when I lived in Hungary, but funny enough, they didn't like to interact with the locals, at least to my experience xD Well, Hungarian is a very difficult language. If I recall correctly, the 5th most difficult one according to a study which I can't reference now because I can't find it. (Take it as gossip, because I have no evidence to prove it xD) Let me guess, one of the word is 'Szia', because it literally sounds like 'See ya' and means almost the same xD

Portuguese! Oh, no, I'm trying to recall things and I got a block in my brain. My best friend's boyfriend, her baby daddy is from Brazil, hence speaks Portuguese and I have to say, I find it harder than Hungarian. Sometimes, he completely forgets that I don't speak Portuguese and he goes on and on about things like I'm fluent or something and I just nod, waiting for the moment when I can tell him that I did not understand a thing xD I love when Portugese people speak in English though. Like their accent gives the language such a flavour! <3

Okay, fair enough. I love Gwyn for Az because they have this dark and light, complementing each other vibe. Besides, they have this playful energy and I'm here for it. Az is quite reserved so it makes my little heart melt <3 To be fair I ship Elain with Lucien because our baby fox deserves to be loved! And I would love to see them overcome this obstacle they created between each other. Also, have you heard about that theory which says that Elain is not actually Lucien's mate, but Tamlin's and the only reason he thinks he is her mate is because Tamlin's feelings were so overwhelming at that particular scene that Lucien felt it that strongly whilst Tamlin repressed it? Might sound silly, but I do find the theory interesting. (I can't recall who said it, only that it was on TikTok - BookTok) Also from tiktok, another theory for you is that Azriel's true mate was Rhy's sister and it all comes back to that moment when Az said something along the lines of "if you lost your mate, you'd feel it" in this painfully serious tone. I'm just rambling, but I love these theories even if they aren't true. xD

“I’m so special everybody loves me i’m a burden poor me” - Oh no, I hate those vibes! It's the typical pick me FMC. Feel sorry for me and two books later, you must respect me because I can destroy you in two seconds. Shatter Me's Juliette is like that. God, I'm on Book 4, but I'm suffering. But hey, you can always come to me to ramble. I'll take the heat for you. I love judging these books xD

Oh, that's actually disappointing. I love when romance is as important as the plot or more. And whilst character development and their journey is important, I need me a burning hot romance. I started Book Lovers with a very sceptical vibe so hopefully I won't be disappointed.

I have to say, I don't mind the hype around books. By all means hype it so it can be more popular. But I hate when they advertise a book like a romance novel only for it to have literally a sprinkle of romance. I loved Cruel Prince, Cardan is my little marshmallow, I'd give my heart for him, but it was not romance! It was political fantasy, with a romantic subplot. False advertisement is my worst enemy.

And here we go with the psychological dump xD

To be honest, I don't think I'm being hard on myself, though it is possible that I repress some of my emotions subconsciously, because I wasn’t always like this. I wasn’t so cold, so distant before. One of the many psychologists that I went to, told me that it could be a result of... how to say this without having to use a trigger warning... hmm... both my stepbrother and stepfather passed away by unnatural causes. Since then I improved a lot, but in my teenage years I was very violent and aggressive.

You see, I do have emotions, it's not like I'm a psychopath. I do love and hate, I'm happy or sad, I get angry, I feel remorse, guilt or grief, I cry, I get jealous, become anxious and have impulsive feelings just like everyone else. However, I don't feel empathy or sympathy as much, nor do I become attached to people.

Like if you are in a bad mood, had a terrible day and you come to me to comfort you, I will, because I know that's what I'm supposed to do, but I can't sympathise with you, I can't feel sorry for you. I feel nothing. If you have a break up with your partner and you want to cry on my shoulder, by all means do so, but other than the usual, 'it will get better' or 'let it out' and stuff like that, I can't offer much because I don't feel much empathy or sympathy. My brain understands what you are going through, but I don't associate with your feelings even if I've been through similar.

And then there are attachments. I fall in love, I love fiercely, but I don't really form attachments. To explain with an example, I had a boyfriend I really loved and when he broke up with me from one day to another without any warnings, any issues, I cried for a good 5 minutes and that was it. I lost a friendship after 14 years and I was over it in a heartbeat. I know people around us are important, but anyone could walk out of my life and I'd shrug it off. Even when I get into a relationship, I'm already expecting the break up. I don't think of 'forevers' and 'decades' ahead. I don't think of marriage or long term relationships. That's why I leave through romance books. Like I said before. 'Will I ever experience that burning love?'

This is one of the reasons I thought of maybe having attachment disorder. I find it hard to show affection and I find it hard to receive affection, I always play it down. I don't trust a single person on this earth, not even my parents and I'm very impulsive. And to be honest, all those describe attachment disorder. I very much see myself in it, but all that the psychologists I went to could determine was what could cause my emotions to be so jumbled, but we never really got anywhere with a diagnosis because, well, I didn't trust them, so I didn't talk much xD

So when I say I'm cold, that's what I mean. I lack a certain amount of empathy, sympathy and being able to form attachments, possibly because I repress them somehow, somewhere. Sorry for rambling for so long, it's hard to explain xD

- he chats with the customers a lot! and gets reprimanded because he's supposed to be doing that only during his rest breaks >:(

- i'd like to think that he tends to almost drop stuff that thoma has to react really quickly so as to not make a mess XD he's clumsy give him a break

- albedo prefers to not interact as much with the customers, unlike childe. but that's okay... all the customers are staring at him anyways XD

- albedo does cool frappuccinos! he experiments (haha get it) with different flavours and combinations and things like that! he came up with an interesting matcha mint flavour once

- he's more of a shy smile type of person, i would think!

Jaehyun (Bad Boy) x Reader (Female)

A/N: so, this is based on a recent dream I had of Jaehyun where he wasn't really a bad boy but he gave off that bad boy vibe

Warnings: some gang up move but mainly fluff

Just a little background, you and Jaehyun attend the same college with you majoring in Literature while Jaehyun majoring in theatre but the both of you would meet in film studies because that's both your minors. Aside from that, both of you would meet for student council meetings since both of you are part of the university's student council.

You never really found Jaehyun to be as intimidating as many would deem him to be since the both of you tend to joke around with one another during meetings. Though Jaehyun was known to be the college's bad boy along with Johnny, Taeyong and Yuta, you also knew that they were all softies.

But, one little incident may or may not expose what the both of you have been feeling all this time. You and Jaehyun were appointed to handle the decorations for the upcoming college party which is only held once a year. After getting the list of what you both had to get, the both of you set a day to get all the supplies and decors.

It was a week before the party and both you and Jaehyun have agreed to meet up to go on a "shopping spree". You told Jaehyun that you were bringing your car since you had to go and grab dinner for your family which Jaehyun was chill about.

On the way to the mall, there was heavy traffic and both of you may be stuck for quite some time. However, Jaehyun knew a different road to get to the mall. He directed you to a narrower road that worked two-way instead of one. So, imagine your panic face when a truck passed by and accidentally scratched the side of the car. In addition, when you thought the driver would go and apologize, they just left and upon reaching the mall, you immediately sighed looking at the scratch.

"My dad is definitely going to kill me" you sighed, waiting for Jaehyun to get out so you could lock the car

"He won't. Come, I'll buy some things to help with this. It's only fair since I was the one that showed you the way" Jaehyun mentioned

"What? No, it's fine, Jae. Let's just go and get the stuff" you replied, locking the car

The both of you then immediately went and shop for all the decorations and some extra equipment. During the payment, you had the urged to go to the bathroom and told Jaehyun if it was ok if you go which Jaehyun didn't mind. He said that he'll wait by the entrance and you immediately rushed to the bathroom.

After finishing up, you went out and accidentally bumped into Bradley and his little gang who were the actual bad boys in college. You apologised for bumping into them and was about to rush back to Jaehyun but his little gang blocked the way and you were starting to get pissed. You managed to slap all their hands away but unfortunately, you were outnumbered.

However, before Bradley and his gang could go any further, someone managed to stop them all. Looking up, you saw a broad tall back facing towards you. Anyone on campus would recognise that broad back from anywhere. It was Jaehyun. Jaehyun looked back at you with soft eyes, asking if you were alright.

"Are you ok?" Jaehyun asked

"I'm, I'm alright. What about the things?" you asked

"I asked the cashier to hold onto it since I've been waiting for 10 minutes" Jaehyun explained

"Thanks Jae" you mumbled, loud enough for him to hear

"So? You guys still want to continue or are you going to leave? I can easily report this, you know that, right?" Jaehyun growled, towering at Bradley and his gang who were all shorter than Jaehyun

"Tch, let's get outta here boys" Bradley scoffed as he and his gang left the scene

"C'mon, let's go grab something to eat. You said you wanted to buy food for dinner" Jaehyun suggested, wrapping his arm around your shoulder and took you for dinner

After dinner, the two of you went back to grab your shopping and went to the car. However, when you were putting the shopping, Jaehyun went to the side of the car that got scratched and took out some things he bought himself.

"Jae, you really didn't have to" you sighed

"Like I said. I insist. It was me that made you pass that way. Plus, it wouldn't be a good impression to your parents" Jaehyun joked, finishing cleaning the scratch

"My. My parents?" you choked on air

"Ahh...I've always wanted to ask this (Y/N). Do you never, once, find me attractive?" Jaehyun suddenly asked, looking you dead straight in your eyes

"Truth is, Jae, I've always found you very attractive. But, I never once thought that it would be possible. I mean, the amount of people have been eyeing you since day one" you replied

"Speak for yourself. But in all honesty, I never looked at anyone else. So, (Y/N), do you want to try this? Us, I mean" Jaehyun confessed, holding your hands in his

"Take me out this Friday night and let's see. Now get in, I want dinner" you joked, pushing his chest as you went into the driver's seat

"Sure thing love" Jaehyun chuckled, closing your door as he went to his seat

my thoughts on Iki Island:

(spoilers under the cut)

I really loved this DLC! I had nothing but high hopes for this after playing the base game last year (and three more times after that), and Sucker Punch didn’t disappoint. The whole time playing it I felt like it was only adding to my love of the characters and the stories they set up in the base game, and then all the new quests and mechanics added a lot of fresh fun on top of that! 

So where to even begin. 

The opening scene was super cool and a neat way to introduce the new shaman enemies. And despite Yuna only actually being in one scene, it was a delight to see her again. Though since I’m playing the DLC after finishing everything, I don't love the continuity of Yuna not accompanying him, but gameplay wise I knew that wasn’t going to happen anyway, but I just love when she’s with us <3

Went for my horse straight away and I was THRILLED to see that Kaze can now kill enemies and the new charge mechanic was way more fun than I was expecting and I was having too much fun with that. After Nobu, I didn’t expect to get attached the Kaze all that much (even if he continued on into a later game) but I was quickly proved wrong with this because I now kind of separate Nobu as the more gentler of the two, that was always there for me, and while Kaze is too, I like imagining Kaze is a lot younger and his aggressive personality in this really sold that and I like that it probably eases Jin’s worries a bit to see his new horse being able to fend off attacks a bit better. Plus, with his new armor, he’s even safer <3 Really fell more in love with Kaze in this, which I didn’t expect.

Met The Eagle next and had that whole encounter. I love how right away if you pay attention, you know Yuna isn’t Yuna because she’s never once addressed Jin as ‘my lord.’ I think the only time she said it was when she was talking to both him and Shimura at the lighthouse, and it wasn’t because she wanted to. But still, even knowing something was wrong, it’s cute that Jin’s mind went to her as a safe place who he’d have no problem entrusting stories and secrets to, which was obviously the Eagle’s goal. And hearing her voice warp into the Eagle’s was creepyyyy and so good <3  (my Yuna loving ass was sad to realize that was most likely the last time we’d see her, but that’s okay) That next part of the hallucination really got you feeling for Jin, and I couldn’t help but be frustrated that he’s only a child, how was he supposed to help?!?!? 

So I ignored Tenzo’s next mission and explored and pretty much completed the entire island. I got jump scared WAY too many times by her taunts, but I loved how that just added to the direness of the situation. I was obsessed with finding all the hallucinations and it just kept breaking my heart how Jin has all of this pent up guilt/heartache--with Ryuzo (he had so many I found), his father, his uncle, the Khan, Nobu :(, Masako, etc. I honestly had expected to find one regarding Taka and I’m a bit sad that I didn’t. Add those to the memories of his father and the ever-present taunting, I was going through it with Jin <3 At least you can pet the animals for him <3 The little smile he’d get every time was worth it. And the flute playing mechanic was really neat!

The first memory I got was their chat before Kazumasa’s death and honestly that got me all teary because Jin wanted so badly to hear him say he accepted him as his son, but deep down, would he have felt it? And my heart just breaks so much for Jin because as I kept going through the memories, I kept thinking how well 1) his dad sucks, but 2) both father figures kept wanting Jin to be somebody else. And it hurts that he was closer to Shimura’s way of thinking and how we even see that one time that Shimura corrects Jin, that his recitation of what honor means were his father’s words, and gets Jin to say that kindness is what honor means to him and wow. <3 <3 <3 But it hurts knowing their fate too <3 That while Shimura was more of a father to Jin than Kazumasa was, eventually, he couldn’t accept what Jin was doing in their way. Though it does hurt and make you wonder if Shimura was frightened that Jin was turning into his dad...I had that thought many times. (I loved seeing Adachi so much though omg <3 <3 <3) It was very interesting how the song Jin ends up playing for his father at the end of the memories is the ‘Jin Sakai’ theme. And then how that in turn, morphs into ‘The Way of the Ghost’ later on when in the final battle. 

It hurts that Jin had Chiyoko in his life for such a short time. I’m glad he did have Yuriko at least, but all of Jin’s memories on his mother and how she emphasized just living was so prominent, and her love of animals clearly passed to him and that gentleness too. And of instruments. Such softness, and I love that he retains that even as an adult. It makes sense that he doesn’t speak of his mother as often since he has far less experiences with her vs Kazumasa or Shimura, but it was nice to see her influence within him.  

Did this quest near the end of my exploration but I got the BIGGEST smile on my fave when I barged in the house to find the Ghost of Iki Island was Kenji <3 <3 <3 I love this dumbass so much and it was so nice to see a familiar face <3 Plus it let Jin have an actual full laugh when Kenji referred to them both as ‘tough guys’ XD His quests are always enjoyable for me and so I really loved that (though I was also Jin when he’s like “...you didn’t say goodbye.”) but I was happy to see him do the right thing at the end <3 THEN I got to duel the Viper because I diffused the situation instead and that was fun. Love that Jin explains his knowledge of negotiation was learned from all the years with Shimura <3 Also enjoyed spotting Kenji later in the Refuge XD

Really enjoyed all the side quests overall, loved all the animal sanctuaries, and the archery was a TON of fun! Getting the horse armor was neat, seeing Jin actively stop a Mythic retelling, though I was surprised there was no duel for that one. The one for the monkey armor was so creepy, following the lights in the cave, but so damn cinematic and that fight was incredible plus that amor is my new best friend. Seriously omg, the duels in this DLC felt so much beefier than the base game (I was playing on hard so that could be a reason, but the fights didn’t feel this tanky in the base) But that armor just made them a piece of cake if you’re good at perfect parries and perfect dodges <3 <3

Loved the banter and camaraderie between Jin and Tenzo throughout. And I really enjoyed Fune’s character as well! Did the next few story missions and I couldn’t help that sense of foreboding slipping in as I was getting more attached to these characters. Love that they had Kidafure Battlefield on the map but it isn’t till the mission that they tack on the ‘Village’, really hitting home what happened there. 

Maybe I should have been, but I did not see the twist with Tenzo coming at ALL! I physically gasped when he spoke the “May your death benefit all things” to that random Mongol and I was soooo tense, like Jin listen I know he was your dad but also Tenzo spared you. Which I love in the long run how he spared the Butcher’s child only to save him later in life, and Jin could save him and the island in return <3 Because ohhhhhh boy did I get emotional when Jin stopped the Eagle from landing that blow. 

But before that, HER FIGHT IS SO FUCKING COOOOOL!!!!!! SHE IS SO DAMN FAST AND SHE EASILY WIPED THE FLOOR WITH ME THE FIRST TWO TIMES. I also love her references to Khotan and that her moveset with the spear shares some similarities with him.  I tried once more in my Ghost armor (for fashion) and then I switched to the Sarugami armor and was flying through just to have that whole cutscene.

I know culture is different and obviously I can never understand that mindset, but to hear him say to Jin that they both should have died there broke my heart. What kind of a father wants his son’s death with him like that?!?!?!?! But I LOOOOOOVED ‘Honor and Ash’ playing in the background for that scene, as Jin is rejecting what his father may have thought/wanted (just like he did to Shimura with that track at the end of Act 2) and then it moved up a key just to reinforce that Jin is forgiving himself for this and letting go and again, forging his own path just as he did with his uncle. I loved that they used that piece for that pivotal moment...

...JUST TO KICK IT INTO AN EVEN HIGHER GEAR WITH JIN SAVING TENZO AND THE GHOST THEME BLARING IN WITH A KEY CHANGE TO THEN TRIUMPHANTLY FINISH OFF THE EAGLE!!!!! I WAS SO HYPED (and also hoping I wouldn’t die cuz how anti climactic would that have been?!?) but I didn’t and I really enjoyed the resolution between those two. I bowed to him after he bowed to me and I love that they even added dialogue for that if players do decide to do that <3 <3 <3 

The next quest with Fune was sweet, though it felt a little odd to do after defeating the Eagle, but it was sweet nonetheless. I have to finish up some trophy stuff, I guess there’s unseen quests that I’m sure I’ve done a few of, but I have to figure out what I missed. The dueling ring was fun, though that lady was the most difficult for me.

A few things of note:

-I like that in this DLC, you really can’t tell if it’s better to kill or spare Shimura. And how there are lines that could mean slightly different things to Jin depending on what he’s done. I’ve done both and I was on a file where he spared him, but besides a hallucination mentioning the Ghost being hunted for the rest of his days, nothing else pointed to one choice or the other.

-Though a line Jin said to Sugi threw me a bit when he said something along the lines of ‘you’ll never understand how hard it is to kill your family’ and maybe he was referencing his guilt for his father, but I’m like ?????? who else did you kill Jin??? Shimura is fine in this play through XD 

-Talking with her though, I like that Jin described himself as ‘someone who knows what it’s like to be hunted’ :((((((

-Tenzo also made reference to a friend of his being beheaded, but not finding the head till a week later, and asking Jin if he understands that and while the situation is different, I bet Jin’s mind went to Taka :( 

-Loved the subtle storytelling elements with Jin falling into his nightmares during the fight through the Gorge and his resolve disappears each time. The second time it happened, I verbally went “oh my resolve.....oh.”

-I do think Sucker Punch made a lil mistake though because I started thinking about how in Tale 8 of Masako’s quests, I’m almost certain she mentions Jin not understanding her need for revenge or something along those lines, and she talks about Shimura hunting down Kazamasu’s killer for weeks and how Jin had his closure. But uhhhhhh obviously his killer was never found? Or they killed the wrong one? And they didn’t mention it was on Iki Island and obviously didn’t have that foresight that they’d be doing this DLC since he was killed in the snow in the base game and now it was under a wisteria tree, but besides that small thing, I had no complaints! except for always wanting more Yuna

It was so great and I felt it really complemented the base game, especially in regards to everything that Jin feels guilty and responsible for, but also puts his relationship with Shimura is so many new lights that I loooove and I need to talk about more!!! If you read this far, feel free to hmu to chat about it because my best friend who played the base game at the same time I did and screamed with me about it has not played this yet and ahhhhh!!!!!!

Hi! I don't know if anyone have asked this before (I'm still reading the novels so I'm not at this point yet). But when do you think is the "moment" where Wolfram falls in love or fully dedicate himself romantically (not merely "I'm your fiance" sort of situation) to Yuuri and vice versa? Like something Yuuri did to turn that love switch on (I don't know the best way to present this question because the entire story is the great part about their relationship growth)

It's a matter of interpretation. There's no explicit "and this was the moment when X fell in love with Y" line in the novels, so I'll give you my interpretation.

If you have been following me for a while you'll know I'm convinced that Takabayashi-sensei is determined to make Yuuri and Wolf 'equals' in every way. So for me, they both 'realized' they were in love with one another in the same way.

1) Attraction

When it comes to 'attraction' I think they were both attracted to one another since novel 1 . With Yuuri it's easy to tell because we can 'read his thoughts' and when he met Wolfie he was gushing all over the place like ' gosh darn it this beautiful angel'. More specifically I'd say that by the end of novel 1, on chapter 10, we can really see that they're both attracted to one another.

for Yuuri you have this line: " From the far side of the corridor, the blond with wavy hair comes running. The intense navy blue uniform suits him; the mazoku Prince Wolfram. I muttered in a sigh 'Although he's a man, he's this beautiful, Günter'. Yuuri is telling Gunter how hot he thinks Wolfie is.

And Wolf a few lines after this: He glances here and there without looking at my face. It might be my imagination but his usually white, smooth cheeks were a slight red.

"Appearing without any treasure, don't embarrass my older brother and me!"

So anyway Wolfie was blushing because he was about to pledge to Yuuri and I'd say probably because he also kinda realized the double black was hot.  (Wolfie mentions in novel 2 that Yuuri is cute and Yuuri tells him he's cuter... plus all the other stuff )

2) Developing feelings

It didn't happen right away for neither Wolf nor Yuuri (despite the way their relationship was portrayed in the anime). Yes, they liked each other, but they didn't know each other well. The more time they spend with one another, the more they liked each other. Yuuri realizes that Wolf isn't just a hot tsundere, but someone who's always doing the 'right thing' (according to what he knows)... just like him. And Wolf also realizes that Yuuri isn't just a hot rookie, but that he actually also likes to do the right thing (according to what he knows).... just like him.

The thing is that they have very different backgrounds "so the right thing" meant different things for each of them, but over time and getting to know each other, and Yuuri changing what the 'right thing' is in Shin Makoku, they started seeing eye to eye and understanding each other better; and liking each other more.

3) Falling in love

This is my interpretation due to the way they act before and after what happens.

I think that they both realized they were in love with the other when they 'almost lost' the other person.

This happens for Wolf first during the Caloria arc.

Yuuri has travelled without being summoned by Ulrike. Gunter gets shot (killed?), they find Conrad's severed arm, and Yuuri is missing. It looks really bad.This is when Wolf barges into Shinou's Shrine having absolutely lost his shit demanding to see Ulrike. When she tells him Yuuri's alive, Wolfram is so incredibly relieved (his relieved smile in the manga gives me life), and after this he sneaks out (going against Gwen's orders) and goes looking for Yuuri. At this point, Wolfram doesn't give a flying fuck about anything other than finding Yuuri.

After finding Yuuri he pretty much tells him 'i love you' in the words "if that happens, then we'll fall together", in the scene where they both could have fallen down the cliff. (Wolf also slaps him back "as a reply to his marriage proposal" which I have argued several times he had replied to in the past (in novel 1), but he made it more clear in this arc after all of this.)

For Yuuri, this happens at the beginning of the Seisakoku arc, when Wolfram gets shot.

Yuuri and Wolf are on a ship that's being attacked, suddenly Yuuri can't feel Wolfram's hand that was holding his, and when he looks to his side Wolf is on the floor shot through the heart. Yuuri first tries to heal Wolf and when he can't (and thinks Wolfie is dead), he loses his absolute shit and turns into the maou (which he never did for any other "character death/injury" he had witnessed). He's about to fuck shit up when Wolf's like "Cut it out, I'm fine".

After this, they don't get to spend much time together, but Yuuri gets obsessed with Wolfie, and thinking about how he almost died.... He 'sees' Wolfie in places he couldn't be and finally, when they meet again, Yuuri tells him his ' i love you' in the words " I'm tired of pretending" before the bed scene, right after telling him he was happy Wolf was there with him.  (Also in the last novel he says Wolf is his 'most important person' which is code for 'the one they love' in the novels. Interestingly enough, the time when Wolfie almost died is brought up at the exact moment when he says the 'most important person' line.)

4) After realizing they've fallen in love

Wolf: For Wolfie is easy to see... he's not jealous anymore. He doesn't insist on the marriage, and he's more at ease with Yuuri and lets him do whatever. (When you love someone you just want them to be happy, so he's not obsessing anymore). Also, I think Wolf kinda knows that Yuuri's in love with him too, before Yuuri realizes, since he tells him during the Caloria arc: That it was a good thing Wolf made Yuu angry back in novel 1, or Yuuri would have never proposed and would be having a "one sided crush on Wolf"... XD I mean... Wolf would know best what his relationship to Yuuri is right? (I've talked about this before, Yuuri's an unreliable narrator and doesn't tell us a lot of things)

Yuuri: 1) the bed scene: he pretty much confesses he's in love with Wolf, asks to sleep with him in his bed and we get the 'cut to black' scene. (which according to a story that sensei herself wrote this, in Shin Makoku naughty books, cut to black means sex, but whatever if you think I'm overreaching I won't die on this hill -> it can have other interpretations) 2) The 'Are you asking for a divorce!?' line when Wolf punched him (to save his life-> for those who haven't read that far). Yuuri is kinda 'married' in his head now, so yeah. Plus 3) every single extra story from Crossheart, to Misepan2, to Love Letter, where Yuuri's super mushy in love with Wolf.

-> Misepan2: Yuuri: “ When it comes to things that I can give you, I would give you anything, Wolf."

TLDR: It's my interpretation they realized they were in love with one another after almost losing the other.

First we have the famous “thank you” scene where Penelope, now a 28 year-old spinster, asks Colin to kiss her because she doesn’t want to die without having been kissed... then ends up thanking him— which happens to be humiliating for our 33 year-old boy because he thinks that she thinks he did it out of pity while he absolutely did not. The man definitely felt butterflies in his stomach... and in other places as well lol. We also have the ICONIC carriage scene where Colin gives Pen’s generous bosoms™ the attention they deserve. This is followed by his proposal. Later on, after the announcement of their engagement, there’s a pretty hot make-out scene on Lady Violet’s sofa. Finally, we have their first time in Colin’s bedroom, after sneaking out of their own engagement party... which leads Colin to push the wedding date forward. At this point, I just love their horniness, especially Colin’s who’s just so freaking amazed by Penelope for more than 300 pages straight (duh! who isn’t ???).

    When you say envision, I suppose you mainly refer to the way those scenes will be filmed right ? I’m afraid I don’t have an advanced knowledge in film-making but let me start by telling you what elements need to be depicted. I would love Shonda and Chris to capture the real essence of our boos’ feelings : the yearning, the love, the respect and the guilt (specifically on Colin’s side) in their eyes. The more we move forward throughout the seasons, the more we see different layers of the perceptions of they have of each other, going from a childish idealization/immature ignorance to a sudden realization. A mature one. Penelope goes beyond the facade of the charming devil-may-care guy to meet the seriousness and temper of her significant other. Meanwhile Colin discovers how confident, powerful and attractive this woman is and always has been. It echoes what I’ve written about the importance of the gaze in Polin’s love story in this meta. By the time season 4 hits, man... their heart eyes and eye-fucking will jump OUT XD, all fibers of their beings, burning with need. The fact that this evolution took literally years is very emotionally painful, which is why I find it important to keep the slowness aspect of their relationship before and during their love making. I’m really looking forward a slow build-up toward their intimacy. It would differ from Daphne and Simon who merely shared one hell of a kiss in Lady Trowbridge’s garden then shared their sexy times after they married or Anthony and Siena’s rough sex... In fact, there’s a certain (sweet) ardent tenderness in Polin I like due to the fact that they’re slowly (re)discovering each other, as adults. Since they were both introduced in season 1, the audience will have all the time in the world to notice numerous evidences of the many natures of love they have for one another : from an affectionate and friendly love to a more carnal and enduring one.

    Okay so, in terms of filming, with Netflix’s Bridgerton being a show which promotes the female gaze, it wouldn’t be that much of a surprise watching those sex scenes being shot from Penelope’s perspective, like it was the case with Daphne in the first installment of the series. Most of the time, sex scenes in Historical Romance are not gratuitous. Their presence serve an important purpose in a hero/heroine’s journey. In Penelope’s case, they’re here to help her learn to embrace and love herself. In other words, sexuality is synonym of freedom. I don’t know if they’ll show a lot of skin, but I won’t be complaining considering the fact that we’ll have the chance to get a chief kiss treat on screen : a plus size woman in a major successful Netflix period drama getting a love story as romantic and steamy as other more “fit” female characters. No, your weight doesn’t prevent you from being desirable at all. As far as I’m concerned, I haven’t watched a plus-size female character portrayed as an attractive protagonist in a period drama (please if you have, let me know, I can be wrong). Having a beautiful half bare curvy body like Nicola’s being equally filmed like numerous slim actresses will be so inspiring and powerful to watch, especially for (young) women who struggle, like Penelope, to love their body shape which, to them, doesn’t “fit” the “beauty standards”. By showing her female gaze and portraying her as seductive, Pen’s “supposed” imperfections transform themselves into mighty assets, loved and worshipped by our dashing Mister Bridgerton. That’s body positivity at its finest darling ;).

    It will be deliciously erotic watching the undressing process being exquisitely slow, garment by garment, while their gaze are all heated and hungry. Their sex/make-out scenes should be tender and passionate, sweet and raw. The lightning, colored by a dark blood orange yellow or a blue depending the locations^^. Moreover, the depiction of the exploration of Penelope’s desire can translate itself thanks to multiple close ups. For instance, I can imagine a few ones on Pen’s fingers gently roaming over the smooth skin of Colin’s firm chest and back/touching his hair right after he removed his shirt. And a disheveled Colin letting his hands and lips making a journey of their own, mapping, conquering the alluring unknown territory that is her gorgeous voluptuous body... kissing her on the places he knows oh too well will give her pleasure (is this me wanting him to go down on her?— um yeah I sure hope it IS! If he doesn’t, trust me imma riot... AGAIN). Even a close up on her face while Colin is performing his addictively pleasing torment will be a marvelous proof of the female gaze. By the way, why not even adding a post-coital scene after their first time ? I can picture Penelope waking up first and contemplate her handsome soon-to-be husband. She’d bring her hand to his face and let it travel all around his forehead, his cheeks, his lips, his neck and let it rest on his heart— making sure that what she’s just experience was real... obviously, Colin will wake up in the process and he’ll take this as his cue to go for another round of sexy times under the sheets.

   Showing Pen reaction is essential according to me because she was stuck with the idea that she would never experience the luxury of being loved, giving pleasure nor receiving it... she ended up being happily wrong. Throughout her multiple intimate encounters with Colin, I want her to progressively realizes that she can be an active partner. In the carriage, she knew she had an effect on him, but it’s not until their first time that she actually realizes it. Hence the reason why I WANT the mirror’s introduction in one of their sex scenes. Here’s as a little reminder an excerpt from chapter 18 :

“I want to see you sitting up," he groaned, "so I can see them full and lovely and large [about Pen’s breasts]. And then I want to crawl behind you and cup you." His lips found her ear and his voice dropped to a whisper. "And I want to do it in front of a mirror."

“Now?” she squeaked.

He seemed to consider that for a moment, then shook his head. "Later," he said, and then repeated it in a rather resolute tone. "Later.”

   It would be such a shame if the show doesn’t use the incredible potential of this object (/kink). I mean, the symbolism is pretty clear. Penelope has always fled her “ugly” reflection but it seems like Colin wants to show the real her, the beauty that holds every single inch her alabaster skin and the effects they have on him. Thus, I would love to watch a scene where Colin just praises the alluring goddess and siren that is Penelope Featherington. Just imagine! Just IMAGINE the power of this scene : a shirtless Colin sitting behind her on a bed, meeting her gaze in the mirror, his lips touching her right ear, biting and licking the lobe sometimes, whispering all kinda of dirty yet poetic words to her while letting his hands caress her thighs, her hips, her arms, her lovely bosoms™... oof. At the same time, a wonderful and harmonic instrumental music will play in the background and match the melodic partition of shudders, breathes and moans let out by our lovers. I can imagine Luke inspiring himself from his performance in the 2019 short film, Youth In Bed. The way he conveyed the awe and the yearning on his face, in his eyes with his mouth slightly open when he knelt before his partner Shun Yin was just captivating and— and so Colin! I cannot help but bring myself to picture Ethan, the character he played in YIB, in a Polin steamy scene. I cannot unsee this anymore jsksk. I mean, all this gifset radiates this book4chapter18!Colin, you cannot tell me otherwise!

    Also, I would love Shonda and Chris to keep Pen and Colin’s cute/emotional pillow talk. One thing I really love in JQ’s books is the concern she gives to her male protagonists about potentially hurting their partner during the act of penetration. Colin is a rake, and what his experience with women taught him is that he needs to be very gentle with the love of his life. It was so adorable seeing him not wanting to harm her and asking her to tell him if he does anything she doesn’t like 🥺. Plus, before actually doing it, Colin and Penelope shared a few kisses and just laid down side by side, confessing their love. Though our boy kept feeling guilty about not returning her love after all these years. He desires nothing but to make up for the lost time and show his love and desire during this special intimate moment. I hope they’ll keep all of chapter 18’s dialogue. It’s just so telling of our boos’ feelings, you see.

    All in all, I can’t wait to watch those Polin steamy scenes. As much as I may sound crazy, I want them after two other seasons of pure pining and yearning in order to have a very good payoff. I’m not an expert on depicting intimacy on screen, but I loved so far what Lizzy Talbot, the intimacy coordinator who worked on the show, have done in season 1. Sex scenes in Bridgerton seem very real and dive you in the intimacy of the moment, leaving you all flustered and hot. So probs to her! I have faith in her work and have no doubts about what her and the directors will serve us in future seasons. Though, in the end, I think it’s mostly up to the actors, Nicola and Luke, to see if they’re comfortable filming sex scenes.

SU rewatch- S1E11- Arcade Mania

Hey, long time no see!

I’m desperately bored in solitary quarantine at university right now, and decided to try and pick this SU rewatch series up again for fun. It’s been a while since I’ve watched through the show in order. Plus, now that this show is completely finished, there’s plenty more connections to make. I can’t promise I’ll be consistent with this, but at the very least I can have fun trying to make a few more posts at my leisure.

Anyways. With that business out of the way. Let’s get right on to the show!

We begin with yet another mission Steven’s guardians have brought him along on! I believe this is the fifth mission we know of that he’s accompanied them on so far. (Lunar Sea Spire, Inverted Pyramid, the unknown mission he returns from in Tiger Millionaire, the desert, and now this one.) It’s really sweet seeing the Gems begin to trust him tagging along more often. There will come a day in the near future where missions become routine for Steven, but in these early episodes, you can really tell that each and every one is a brand new adventure.

In terms of plot, though, this episode is honestly Future Vision: The Prequel.

We learn a lot about Garnet’s abilities and her role in the team here, even if all of these details aren’t spelled out word-for-word quite yet. Hints towards her future vision we see this ep include:

Garnet moving ahead of the group to be in the perfect spot to catch Steven when he falls.

Her flawless moves while fighting and dodging the monsters.

Her becoming a master at the rhythm game later in the episode.

Like, damn. Look at this.

I had to gif all of this just because it’s such a beautiful and smooth sequence of animation.

If there’s one thing all of the Crystal Gems can 100% agree on, it’s that Garnet is friggin’ amazing.

Garnet: “Let them go. They’re just parasites. If they want to be a problem, they’ll have to answer to me.”

So, does this statement mean that- at this present moment- her extended stay at the arcade was entirely beyond her future vision? That the only futures she saw were ones where she was actually present to deal with containment of the Gem parasites? Given that later scenes insinuate she’d never been to the arcade before, and would have no “data” about its games to factor into her internal understanding of the world, this seems likely.

I adore the gradual palette change here, from shadow, to setting sun. It’s a nice detail that adds so much more life to what could otherwise be a rather mundane transition scene. It seems like unique palettes were more common in early SU- I wonder why Crewniverse stopped implementing these as often later on?

Pearl, entering the arcade: “Humans find such fascinating ways to waste their time.”

This sequence of Pearl failing at playing a car chase/road rage game hits so much different knowing what happens in Last One Out of Beach City. It’s genuinely radical how far she grows in confidence from this point, because here, she seems so shackled to rules and guidelines. Now that we know about her rebellious past, it might be tempting to write this characterization off as “early series weirdness,” but... I don’t think that’s what’s happening here.

Instead, I wonder if she’s working through grief-related regression.

Think about it... the pain of Rose’s passing is still so fresh for her. She was a rule breaking rebel once, yes, but she spent all of those days at Rose’s side. And I get the sense that she’s poured so much of herself into keeping Rose safe, into the rebellion against Homeworld, that without those, she’s caught in a vacuum. What IS her purpose now, when the very person she rebelled for is gone?

So she slips back into old pearl-like habits. Chronic rule following, and a fear of deviating from norms. How familiar. Thankfully, much of her arc throughout the show is her directly growing beyond these habits to live boldly as her own Gem.

The friggin video game when Garnet knocks its head off: “TELL MY WIFE I’M SORRYYY!!!”

Yo, what the fuck. This line is both hilarious and messed up, all at once. Please tell me the game isn’t sentient.

Aaaand here we finally introduce Garnet to the video game sensation that is Meat Beat Mania! This game is perfectly suited to her and her power of foresight because its patterns are algorithmic and not vulnerable to spontaneous deviations, and thus easy to predict, with enough input. She’s probably getting a quick rush of satisfaction with every correct move, and she barely has to exert any energy with her future vision to get that rush. After years and years of wading through endless possibility at every avenue, this video game’s patterns must be a rejuvenating breath of fresh air.

It’s addicting.

...Kinda makes me think of how I get sometimes when I play solitaire on my phone for an hour straight. After a while, I barely even think, I’m just shuffling through my deck and moving cards almost on automatic. I don’t have to use much energy to play, and it gives me animated fireworks every time I finish a match. It’s a win-win.

Amethyst: “I’MMA WIN AN AIRPLANE!”

I don’t know what it is about the way Michaela Dietz says the world “airplane,” but this makes me laugh every time. Does... does she think she can win a genuine airplane here because she saw Onion win a tiny motorbike from the ticket booth?? Amethyst, oh my god. XD

She’s got the spirit, this wild child.

So, moving on- we meet up with our crew later the next morning, Garnet nowhere to be seen. There’s an interesting exchange I’d like to highlight real quick-

Pearl: “If we’re supposed to fight a giant foot, Garnet would let us know.” Amethyst: “Yeah, Garnet’s the boss!” Pearl: “Well, we’re all a team. Garnet just has heightened perception that guides us towards our mission objectives.”

Considering the specific phrasing Pearl uses here- “heightened perception” instead of “future vision-” did Garnet outright tell the two of them to not explain her powers, just like she told them not to mention she’s a fusion? Because I’m pretty sure no one ever uses the phrase “heightened perception” again in reference to her powers.

Given the fact that Garnet chose to keep the knowledge of Ruby and Sapphire under the table until she felt Steven could understand her better, my guess is that this is a similar scenario.

Ahah, I genuinely can’t tell if this is Steven being gullible, or just impulsively playing along with Amethyst’s antics. Still- gross, kid. Don’t wipe your wet cereal face on your shirt! Ew! :O

When he goes outside and starts to use a kiddy metal detector to scan for quarters... so THAT’S where he finds his arcade money! Because I can’t imagine Greg is financially able to give him that much to spend on non-essentials at this point in the show.

Okay, so... I just want to bring light to the fact that Garnet has literally been in this arcade ALL NIGHT LONG.

It was evening when she first arrived here- the sun was visibly setting in the background, and when Steven, Amethyst, and Pearl left, the sky was dark. But now it’s morning. Steven was just seen eating breakfast. And Garnet is STILL HERE.

Does this mean Mr. Smiley locked her IN? I have so many questions... Did he try to get her to leave, only to be intimidated by her complete lack of response? I would kill to know more about this interaction. Poor Mr. Smiley. That man deals with so much bullshit in this town, huh?

Geebus, is Garnet a solid wall. Previous episodes have shown Steven forcibly shoving whole tons of food, and swinging a mini-freezer over his head, and yet he can’t get her to budge even an inch.

I absolutely adore how he climbs up her frame like a koala, though, ahah. Cute.

Meat Beat Mania announcer: “That’s rare!!” Steven: “Oh my gosh...!”

I take these two lines as evidence that this is the first time Steven’s ever seen Garnet’s eyes. Specifically, the fact that there’s three of them. Which, makes sense- since Garnet is still really reserved emotionally at this point, and is only begins to get in the habit of taking her visor off to show Steven her full face later on in the show.

This expression deeply hurts me.

Steven’s so distraught here- because the others are in danger, the town is in danger, and he doesn’t have his trusty, dependable guardian who catches him when he falls and beats up scary monsters for him. Without her, the whole team is vulnerable and blind.

He feels alone. He feels... powerless.

And so he responds to that confusing, powerless feeling by trying to compensate with his own power. When all other routes he can think of fail, he smashes the video game console.

It... uh, it works... but once again, Steven entirely fails to consider the consequences, huh? He experienced a little bit of character growth in this regard in the episode Serious Steven, but even past that it’ll remain an recurring issue for him. Hell, his impulsiveness is a general character flaw even stretching into SUF.

In summary, though:

Poor Mr. Smiley. He works so hard, and doesn’t deserve this BS. ;-;

Part 2 of the theory

Ahhhh! I understand your problem in this topic 100 percent! 🥴

This topic is so confusing and nothing really makes sense. I’ve had your theory in my head so many times, because the MWAF is really weird about MC. Above all, I find that he reports himself quite often and sends threats.

I think MC is the greatest danger to the man without a face. Since MC doesn’t live in Duskwood themself, he has to get to MC through the others. That’s why the attack trought Jessy’s phone and that he showed up afterwards was just another silent warning. But I also find it weird how the whole thing went down. Jessy seems to be unconscious for a moment, I just wonder how the MWAF did it in such a short time. The attack was so fast that it was strange, the only way to get to MC is through the phone and through the others. I just think it’s weird that he doesn’t really take out everyone else. When everyone else is gone, MC has more trouble because then no one is there and can find out things that are only possible if you are in Duskwood.

In the beginning, I always had the theory that Hannah or Thomas were just wrong.

That either Hannah, because she was stressed, sent the wrong number because she didn’t have much time, or that Thomas just twisted the numbers because he was worried and also stressed.

I could well imagine with the theory that Hannah actually wanted to send the number of Ted Madruga (the guy from jail) and simply one of the two made a mistake. However, I can’t imagine that either because we know Everbyte by now. A simple fail that made everything as it is now, would be too simple, I think.

Or maybe MC really works for the police or the government, but that doesn’t make much sense either.

Whatever theory you have, you have to expect Everbyte to destroy it again in the next episode.😫😂

Your theory would be really interesting if it really was the kidnapper and not Hannah. I would like to know what the background is and what the MWAF’s plan is.

Plus, there’s the possibility that MC actually knows who Hannah is, just lying all the time. But I can’t think of a matching reason for this too.

There are so many unsolved questions and things that just don’t make sense. I think we just need to find out more before we can make even better theories about it.

I’m unsure in which episode that was (Maybe 4 or 5) and I can’t find it right now. But Jessy suddenly asks us if we have remembered Hannah by now and we have the possibility to answer 'yes'. However, I have never chosen this but only 'It feels like this'

But since I don’t know any theory about what happens when you choose 'yes', I don’t think anything special is coming.

Especially since it would (probably) be a lie.

This is really a complex and difficult subject where we simply lack the necessary information to get ahead.

Fruits Basket, SE03, Ep3

This ep is exactly like se02, ep 24, meaning it was divided clearly into two parts. While the graduation theme unties the two parts, you can point things out exactly like ep,24:

1st part : Machi’s story= the important part.

2nd part: scattered parts here & there that concern yuki, ep, 24 his interactions with akito, here his interactions with Motoko).

plus, an ep cliff hanger: (e, 24 the dvd given to kureno, here, Isuzu’s mysterious fate).

it is exactly the same even a small kyo/tohru moment!. School graduation instead of the zodiac’s new year gathering. 

Really awkward pacing, but that’s furuba, we celebrate when they DO connect dots for once! lets talk abt the REAL ep: MACHI.

-Machi’s awkward presence:  

Although I love Machi, I’ve voiced my concerns abt her character in Furuba:

It seemed that Machi was solely created to be a step in yuki’s success journey more than a character on her own right. After getting motherly love (tohru) leaving the nest, Yuki needed friendship (kakeru), then as an independent man, he needs romantic love: (Machi). This is all fine initially but I was yearning for more individuality for Machi as a character. All furuba characters were given space to be unique including minor characters like Motoko who narrated her own story each time she’s on screen & we lived it with her within two seasons & a number of eps.

 However, Machi’s background was introduced thro her brother’s exposition in se02 & that moment was a yuki/ kakeru bonding moment.

Thro kakeru’s exposition  we learned how similar yuki & machi are (the parental neglect, high expectations, cold sibling relationship, Big brother saves himself by himself, big brother pushing for redemption & the younger sibling’s still trapped silently ). While that makes for romantic appeal between the two which makes the writer’s job easier, it steals from Machi individuality.

Then her part in ep, 24 was shown & I was given hope for Machi’s individuality as her own inner voice spoke volumes abt her as a person away from yuki (romantic interest) or Kakeru (big brother). Having a lot of screen time, while can make a character more believable to the audience, is never a factor in character’s depth nor individual worth. Heck! kyo (part of the main trio & the main character’s love interest) has only ONE ep in se02 to explore his issues & by far it is my fave ep in se02 as it established kyo’s trauma, psyche, mental issues & emotional baggage better than I could ever imagine! You can DO WONDERS with little time if you knew what to do. That’s what happened with Machi this ep (half ep).

-Machi’s shines! (trauma & romance):

I was so relieved to learn that altho both Machi & yuki despised perfection as it suffocated them, the writer (thankfully) went abt a different approach with Machi. Unlike Yuki who went silent cuz he felt his voice didn’t matter as he was used as a tool, Machi went silent cuz she was was NOT needed, & not only discarded but painted as WRONG. If you admit that raising me this way is wrong, then what does this make me? What should I do with myself? I’m wrong! boring, a failure, & a presumed killer!! all while I was absolutely doing my best! all while I was having good intentions! It is devastating but It makes Machi real. A character on her own right with her own trauma, struggle, pain & outlook on life. Although, the writer made the whole yuki/Machi meeting orchestrated by Kakeru to quickly make the two siblings one step closer, it worked cuz kakeru chose to not interfere after setting the scene. He played a subtle mach maker & tried to find happiness for his sister silently. Kakeruy is yuki’s best buddy & Machi becoming the girlfriend, the trio will have to hang out more which will slowly but surely warm Machi towards Kakeru. While the flat visit is the part where Machi open the lid to Yuki with a spark of romance at the end, the chalk scene is the romantic part! Not only did Yuki noticed her panic & saved her by breaking a piece of chalk, she secretly remembered his promise! “ lets make footprints on the snow”. The snow that was another source of anxiety attack, is now sth she looks forward to & prays for! Truly romantic!!! Well-done writer.

Side Notes:

I know furuba is shoujo & it’s abt love, but C’mon! where did Nao/ Motoko come from??!! XDD Who is left without love interest? Kyo’s rejected fangirl loved by one of kyo’s buddies? The maids in love with Akito? Momiji? Who does Kimi love besides money? XD

Yuki once observed that kyo makes tohru happy with small things, Today he did the same! A broken piece of chalk.

Yuki/ Machi romantic scenes contrast Yuki/ tohru forced romantic scene at the earlier seasons. There is no lame cringy lines like “ I’ll kidnap you & go to a vacation” or kissing a ribbon. There is NO acting or pretentious lines. Here a piece of chalk did the trick, an understanding of her tears & a head pat, a promise to walk on snow together! Congratulations Yuki, You made it into romantic boyfriends category! XD. also, good writing!

The Bra scene is the real comedy in the ep.

Arisa’s “ kyon, we won’t forgive you if you hurt tohru” is gold cuz kyo WILL. When it’s time to confess he knew kyoko & she HATES him & doesn’t forgive him, tohru would be hurt! Even if she wasn’t in love with kyo!!! Knowing your beloved’s last words were hateful is painful!! Add to this that tohru loves kyo & would be struggling between forgiving him or not!! Add to this that kyo might NOT want to be forgiven!!

“ I won’t forgive you”. kyo’s haunting reminder that he’s unforgivable is now shared by kyoko, yuki, Hana & Arisa!! 

look, you might argue that furuba’s romantic writing might be a bit awkward with all sorts of romantic couples, age gaps, the need for everybody to be in love one way or the other & so on, but the traumatic behavioral writing is the best!!!!! I was never disappointed with how Takaya write abused traumatized children’s behavior. One of my fave scenes is yuki/ kyo in the stairs in se02 where kyo lashed out on yuki & yuki was over it. While that scene was rightfully celebrated for yuki’s triumphant attitude as he got over his trauma, I love it for the realistic trauma filled attitude of kyo, all charged with kyoko’s flashback! He’s in deep & he’s all by himself! Kyo will hurt tohru cuz he loves her just like how kazuma hurt him by forcefully taking his bracelet cuz he loves him. Kyo will be thinking it is for the best, who would want to be with someone that kyoko of all ppl hates!

 I’ll tolerate all the weird love couples in furuba, but the moment trauma is written weakly I’ll drop the show. There is NO way, kyo will confess kyoko’s lines then go “sorry abt that tohru, we’re good?” 

Back to Machi, I really hope that her trauma isn’t merely wrapped up cuz yuki loved her. Furuba was never abt love heals, it is abt love helps. We might not see more of her trauma for reasons of space, or not related to the current plot lines, but I really hope we hear her talk abt herself with yuki even few lines. Although, I feel that the focus now will be on setting her for yuki’s next stage in character development: honesty in the love confession. He’ll tell her abt the curse as the trailer hinted at. That’s their first love life struggle. But if I were to take a guess, it will be dealt with quickly like her trauma. She loves yuki dearly & as long as he walks with her in snow (human or rat, lol), it’s all good. <3

Kagura’s new style is love! she isn’t dressed overly cutely anymore, but had a more comfortably style & I love her hair! also her friendship with Isuzu! <3. I wish Isuzu would really know there are ppl worried abt her in her life. Haru isn’t the only one.

Akito put Isuzu in the cat room, didn’t she? The place she left is similar to the place young Kazum wandered to in se01, ep25. & those scissors....

I never thought that the mere sight of shigure’s face will disgust me. XD. I still find him so intriguing, but yeah need time to get over the fact that he slept with Ren & counted it even with Akito, then slept with Akito afterwards! EWWW! so disgusting & I’m here to see this drama escalate!

FIRE! Subending?

Holy shit, it's combustion bending! I hoped I'd get one of them as a combustion bender 👉👈. Althought damn, Ty Lee, you got a busy life

So here's her little backstory I crafted with two sticks and a piece of scotch: I like the idea that being a combustion bender is a skill you learn, with special facilities where combustion benders are trained? So Ty Lee would have been a part of one of those facilities. She'd always been very spiritual, and empathetic even if her "masters" tried to force it out of her.

So one day, she somehow manages to escape, hiding among the Fire Nation people. Ported by the tales of her childhood and her strong beliefs, she manages to find the Sun warriors and the Dragons, who deem her worthy and bless her. Her hair changes color, and her firebending gets stronger. It greatly helps her overcome her trauma, by finding another way to bend, without rage and anger. She will teach that to the Avatar, alongside helping her perfect her Firebending. Because, maybe Katara's learning experience was incomplete? I know I said she mastered Firebending before, but I wasn't sure she'd get a teacher. So I retcon myself lol.

She's... A very good addition to the group to say the least. She's probably extremely powerful?! I think the Dragons helped her developp her actual firebending outside of combustion, and she's trying to teach herself more about it. Her and Katara can exchange about it! :) Not making Katara a full blown Combustion bender btw, just teachings her a few attacks and how to concentrate fireballs, kind of like what Ozai did during his final fight with Aang in the show. It will be VERY useful in Katara's final fight (?)

Maybe after finding the dragons she adopted a nomadic lifestyle in the Fire Nation, kind of what she did with the Circus, and that's how she falls on the Gaang. I picked the Western Air Temple as her background because I felt like it, so... That's where she meets Team Avatar. Because of what she learned and her connection with the spirits, she will feel like she has to join with the Avatar, because nobody else can teach her that. Oh! She's probably Katara's spiritual guide :)

Even with her relatively tragic and probably more traumatising backstory, she's still one of the most cheerful and enthusiatic members of Team Avatar.

Her final design (yes i know I did three of them. She's an interesting character okay xD) includes wide and loose clothing (althought it's probably not the most practical for fighting?) In contrast to her Facility clothes. I imagined she wouldn't want to be reminded of them, and always hated the tight clothes and how they felt. She kept the belt tho, it's probably practical and also was a reassuring constant. The weight, all that. I also gave her another belt, looking more utilitarian, and some bombs are her side. I imagine she's also kind of an engineer, and uses tools to help her. So maybe she was trained in swords, or knives too? Just to make her as efficient as possible. Oh, btw! To fit in with the engineer point, she's gonna date Sokka at some point because I say so. Yes, i don't have a clue what he does yet, but I don't care. Ty Lokka for the win xD

I didn't want to just give her back her clown costume, plus I feel like it's more adapted to... Acrobatics and shit than firebending

Oh, and just for the fun of it, her and Azula hit it off in half a second and become best friends after 2 days.

Ok, this is all nice and shit, but I need an airbender 😭

By the way, if book 1 was Earth, then they went to the north pole (passing by the wrstern air temple first) and lastly (because it's gonna be very hard to find one) katara is gonna learn airbending, we might as well just reverse the whole avatar cycle. Just sayin'

Oh. And also. This is my hot girl summer so I'm adding jet to my list of characters, and a "friend with a rebel cell against the fire nation" category. Just because I can.

My own exolympics AU post (summer version). Some of these were really difficult and that’s why for so many of these I don’t have one single definitive choice of sport.

Minseok: Wrestling or rugby. I didn’t mean to start this list horny but what is 2021 Minseok so beefy for if not pinning his opponent down into submission? Did I say that out loud? Oops. Considering Minseok’s past as a soccer player, I do think that he enjoys team sports, which is why I think rugby also would’ve worked for his physique. I had considered sports like shot put/hammer throw/discus throw or weightlifting, but I think they are too solitary for a Minseok who enjoys more interaction in his sports. Minseok is a footie fanatic too, and it would be fun imagining him playing soccer with athletes from other sports in the common area.

Junmyeon: Modern pentathlon or fencing. The exo members as well as Junmyeon’s friends (including his basketball player friend Mo Yonghun) have said that he is very fit and takes care of his body a lot, so I had trouble matching him up with a specific sport. I was looking for sports that were a bit bougie (because his dad is a professor and Junmyeon looks like a prince), as well as sports with physiques that were a bit more average (because Junmyeon is rather well proportioned). The pentathlon includes fencing, shooting, swimming, horse show jumping, and running, several of which I had considered for Junmyeon. Fencing and show jumping definitely suit the bougie part of him. And I remember him saying that he swam and ran often. I had also considered table tennis because Junmyeon’s body type seemed to match up with table tennis players’ body types quite a bit. Anyway, my final choice is pentathlon, but if I had to choose just one sport specifically, I’d choose fencing. Enough bougie with enough moving around and making use of his superior physique. And table tennis is a close third haha.

Yixing: Badminton. I respect badminton as a sport as someone who played it for a number of years, I just don’t have good memories of badminton lessons, which was why I was reluctant to say this haha. But Yixing is lean, and I think that matches up with badminton players quite well. I had considered long distance/marathon sports too, like cycling or running or triathlon, but I don’t think Yixing is quite that lean. Also, imagine Yixing in the muscle shirt with a gold necklace v.v If you have watched badminton, you probably know the visual I’m trying to express lol. Anyway he’d be a singles player.

Baekhyun: Karate. Funnily enough, it’s not because of Baekhyun’s background in martial arts. I just feel like Baekhyun is the kind of guy who suits a sport that he can do anywhere, anytime. My original choice for Baekhyun was BMX racing but I just felt like he doesn’t suit a sport that requires a lot of gear (bike, helmet, etc.). I had considered surfing and skateboarding for Baekhyun too because I think he suits sports that have a more chill atmosphere among athletes (i.e. a sport that’s not so stuffy), but again, too much gear, and surfing can only take place in the water, which I also feel doesn’t really match Baekhyun? Taekwondo doesn’t really match Baekhyun because Taekwondo athletes tend to be tall with long legs.

Jongdae: Wrestling or kayak slalom. I had A LOT of trouble matching Jongdae up with a sport. His body type just didn’t seem to remind me of any specific sport. When he bulks up he’s stocky but not broad. But because he can get stocky I felt like wrestling could suit him. Admittedly I don’t watch a lot of canoe/kayak slalom, but Jongdae has shown on many occasions that he doesn’t get scared easily, and I feel like something thrilling like slalom would be fun for him. I did also consider rock climbing considering how he was totally not scared when on the rock climbing wall in Minseok’s H4U, but I looked up rock climbing and apparently they tend to be taller.

Chanyeol: Beach volleyball. Volleyball obviously makes sense given his height. But beach volleyball teams are only made up of two people, so he gets more attention, and also he gets to be a beach thot. I was thinking of surfing too for maximum thot vibes, but I did a bit of reading and apparently the best surfers aren’t typically that tall. I’d also considered rowing since I think Chanyeol has the body type for it, but I feel it’s too serene of a sport for someone as chaotic and restless as him.

Kyungsoo: Judo or rowing (as the coxswain XD). Kyungsoo was the other member I had a lot of trouble with, especially because we don’t know what his physique really is like because dude never takes off his shirt (and I respect him for that, keep giving us nothing). I looked up the body types for the judokas who are on the smaller side and I felt that Kyungsoo kind of matched up with that. Plus, I think he’s practised some judo for a movie role. In terms of rowing, for those of you who don’t know, in the eight-people rowing races, there is a person (usually much smaller, any gender) who usually sits at the end of the boat called a coxswain who is responsible for keeping the rowers coordinated. I know scarysoo is a meme and real Kyungsoo isn’t actually that mean, but I felt like that was a job that he could be good at. If he remembers to wear his glasses so he can properly see. Plus, whichever team wins the race gets to throw their coxswain into the water (this is actually real, I did not make this up), so imagine 8 big men or women throwing tiny Kyungsoo into the water with glee.

Jongin: Artistic gymnastics. I think this has been the popular headcanon and I think it fits. I don’t know how flexible he is, but I just feel like he’d be the kind of guy to look very graceful on all the apparatuses. I think his strengths would be floor exercise and pommel horse. His long legs would look so good when he does his spins (I don’t know what they’re called lol). Plus he’d be very pretty in the gymnastics uniform.

Sehun: WATER POLO. If you don’t know anything about water polo, they have some of the most aesthetically pleasing physiques, just like Sehun. The sport is fun to watch but so are the men. (God I’m a pervert) I think swimmer Sehun has been the more popular headcanon and it fits too. He has the height for it (Sehun with the massive lat muscles anyone?). I just can’t stop thinking of water polo Sehun in the speedo and cute water polo cap. Either way, he’d be the heartthrob of the pool. Sehun also recently revealed in an interview that he was obsessed with golf, and I can see him in the whole golf fit haha.
