Tumblr media
Sailing on board of the Black Pearl was rather... peculiar, if you were to put it in words.
One of the sea's most infamous ships in the seas, captained by one of the most known pirates of the Caribbean; a captain that according to tales was either a hero or the devil himself but to you was just a man with a severe craving for rum and an insane amount of luck by his side.
Still, you would never trade your place in the Pearl's crew by anything else in the world, it was your safe place, your home. From the creaky black floors and the moldy walls to the welcoming crew and the surprisingly insanely smart captain who cared for his crew even if his mouth never expressed it.
"Jack, have you seen Marty?" You ask while you walk past him, the Pearl was anchored in Tortuga while replenishing of provisions and the guys of the crew relaxed for a while; it was less to say to say you were a bit surprised to see Jack on board and not in a bar. "Wait why are you still on deck?"
"To answer your multiple and incessantly questions, love, one, I haven't seen Marty, two, I... I just didn't feel like it." He said, the first answer you knew was sincere but the second one was not all that honest by the way his gaze diverted further to the floor and his hands made that little gesture he does when unsure.
"You know you don't have to lie to me, Jack." You say, a raised brow inquiring for a deeper answer while Jack walked away from you. "Actually, you've been acting quite strange these past days."
"Strange?" He reiterates, brows furrowing and lips pouting right before his hands flew around him discarding your words. "You are one to tell that lass." He says, walking around you going to the hold for some of the new rum bottles. "If anything-" He starts again, some rummaging interrupting him before a satisfied hum sounds again. "You be far more strange...er."
While walking back on deck he walks again past you to his cabin, stopping at the door. "Ye should go and have some fun love, you look rather distressed." He says before closing the door behind him, leaving you rather confused in your place.
Out of all the words you just said to the captain it appeared he understood none and replied with less. To anyone else it would appear normal from Sparrow but something in your gut said it just wasn't as right as it seemed.
With a huff you turn on your heels ready to walk off the Pearl, feeling sick due to the annoyingly fleeting butterflies that seemed to rise in your belly every time he called you love even though he called every woman he met that way.
"He's so stupid." You mutter, chugging down some rum mixed with some fruity juice Gibbs handed to you once you sat down beside him at the bar, bottles flying above your head and yelling perforing your eardrums.
"Who? Jack?" He says absentmindedly while eyeing who to take another rum bottle from, hand flying to grab a drunk man's one and exchanging for is water full one. Satisfied grin on his face.
"Why is he so... confusing?" You ask again, another gulp from the bottle before giving it back to Gibbs. "Like, what is the point of answering something you never inquired about?"
"Jack be kind of... a surprise box." He says, alternating from which bottle he drinks from. "He may not say what you want to hear but more of what you need to hear."
"Well, in that case there's nothing usable in his words." You huff, Gibbs shrugging your making you groan.
"Why do you care so much either way? Ye can just let'm be lass." He opines, face scrunching at the sight of someone falling down the second floor.
"I don't care!" You exclaim, slamming your hand down the table as you turn to him.
"Whatever let you sleep at night." He mutters, patting your back before standing up, leaving you a bottle of rum and your thoughts.
Some weeks after departing from Tortuga you came to the realization that, unfortunately, you do care.
And is driving you insane.
"Let's head north, Master Gibbs!" Jack exclaimed as hi pocketed his compass, however he seemed not too sure of the directions of course that had to be taken.
"Ye heard the captain!" Gibbs recalled loudly, everyone moving to occupy themselves as loud chattering filled the deck.
Jack, however, stood in place on deck by the helm, guiding the Pearl as he seemed to be deep in his mind and a few feet away from him, hands in her pockets, stood the only other women on board ever since Anamaria left the crew, you.
Ever since talking to Gibbs in Tortuga your mind has all but stopped thinking about the man that now stood in front of you; some time ago you could’ve sworn you had good taste in men but now, you weren't so sure as you could look at him per various minutes without growing bored of the way his eyes scanned everything around him and how he never failed to do smart remarks in the most serious moments.
You weren't sure at all but what you do know is there is something scarily charming about Jack Sparrow and you can't help but feel uneasy about it.
"Love, even though I may have to accord with you as in I be madly attractive to women, you do need to go and do... whatever it is that you do." Jack stated, turning to look at you with a small lopsided smirk, eyeing your face as it turned as red as a tomato, Jack himself thinking of it as it’s kind of cute, even if he despises tomatoes.
"Right." You nodded, diverting your eyes to wherever else and stepping down to the front deck, away from Jack whose gaze followed you, a sigh leaving him.
"Ye should act on it, Jack." Gibbs dares to say as he steps back on helm.
"Act on what Master Gibbs?" He asks back, Joshamee not letting slide the knowing tone Jack's voice held upon his clueless acting.
"If I know one thing about women it is that they change their mind over a man rather quickly if he doesn’t act on it." He mutters, receiving a hum and a nod from Jack.
However, that small chat from the morning prior left a bitter aftertaste in Jack's heart, something he hadn't felt in a long, long time. It scared him.
They change their mind rather quickly. A voice in Jack's head spoke again, making him shake his head and step out of his cabin into the darkness of the Pearls at night, all of the crew sleeping, and the air silent enough Jack could hear his own breaths.
Squinting his eyes he spots a figure laying against the front deck's rail, eyes staring at the water that expanded endlessly around them. Slowly, he walked closer, his boots making a small creaky noise as he walked up the stairs.
"What are you doing awake Jack?" Your voice whispered to the air, making the captain stop in his tracks while staring at your figure in the night.
"Could ask you the same thing, love." Finally, after some seconds he walked to your side, standing firm with his back against the railing, opposing your posture.
"The sea at night is always beautiful and calming." You mutter, taking in the way the full moon reflected on the calm tides.
"Can't argue with you on that." He smirked, looking down to his compass, the little red arrow spinning for a while before staying still, pointing to his right.
"Now, why is the captain awake?" Your tone held up some diversion, Jack could hear the smile on your face and feel your eyes boring into the right side of his face.
"Couldn't sleep." He simply states. Compass away in his pocket and back drifting away from the railing, ready to walk back.
"You can stay for a while either way, I can leave if you don't want me near." You mutter, backing up to look at him, his eyes meeting yours for the first time in a few days of slipping away from you between tasks and calls.
"Now why wouldn't I want you near me, love?" He asks, sincerely confused as his eyes registered sadness and sorrow in your sweet gaze.
"I don't know, you seem to have been avoiding me these past weeks." you keep on talking as his eyes never falter upon yours. "At first I thought it was just you being weird but now I realized it's only when I’m around." You shrug your shoulders, trying to let it slip of you, but your Captain knew you even if he wanted not to, it was hard for him not to get keen on you.
"There's no need to lie about your feeling lass." He states, feeling almost sad of seeing you shrug your emotions away. "And I have not been avoiding you at all."
"You have"
"Have not."
"You have"
"Have not!" He reiterates, relaxing upon your chuckle reaching his ears.
"You know Jack..." Your voice interrupts the comfortable silence that settled. "When I first got into piracy a few years ago I swore to never care about any mates I had, knowing far well about how dishonored people were becoming as summers passed." To say Jack was intrigued about where you were headed to would be an understatement.
"The thing is, and I don't know why, is has become really hard for me not care about this crew, about the Pearl, and about you." Chuckling, you gaze falls to your hands, head moving almost in a denying demeanor. "I really tried not to care for you, Jack."
"Love..."
"Even Gibbs has come around asking what's up with me, what is it that keeps me looking for you everywhere, it's almost dumb you know..."
"What's dumb?" He had to ask, handheld together tightly to the point his nails clawed his palms.
After a few beats of silence, you force yourself to word it out, the sky shifting as the sunrise came. "How much I ended up loving you."
Jack's face became a poem, an angsty poem as guilt, surprise, shame, sadness, and something else passed behind his features. "I... Really?"
"Just forget it." you quickly recover, straightening yourself and walking away, sensing the betrayal oncoming.
"Is it so hard for you to believe I love you?" You have to ask, turning around in your heels to meet his gaze again, face stern and almost guilty as he stares back at you.
"You wouldn't even bare to imagine how hard it is, Y/N." He says, walking over to you, talking your wrist gently before you walk away on him. "I, meself, can't even come around to put in words how insane you would be if you did love me, darling."
"Why?" Your voice become small, eyes looking up to his as his hand entangled itself in a strand of your hair.
"Because, on which mind it would be correct for a woman like you to fall for a pirate like me, darling." He states, hand falling to his side, ready to let you go,
"Am I not a pirate too, Jack?" You mutter, pinky finger searching for his and tangling them together.
"You could choose not to, you're free to leave this life." Seriously enough his voice responded your question, warmth spreading throughout your chest.
"I would've done that many years ago if I wished for it, wouldn't I?"
"You won't change your mind after, right?" He asks, nose now brushing against yours, eyes searching for anything that tells him to walk away before he isn't able to.
"I will take no offense upon your words, Jack." Your smiling lips brushing against his was enough for him to shorten the distance between you two, the bittersweet taste of rum and herbs that came off Jack was making your knees weaken, hands snaking around your waist to pull you even closer if possible.
"So... this is why you stare so much?" Jack's voice is teasing, a playful smack landing in his chest as you chuckle, walking away from his embrace to wake up the crew as the sun has not risen enough.

"Kissin' Privileges."
Tumblr media
Requested by @Anonymous (If this isn’t what you imagined, I am happy to rewrite it!)
Prompt #: 16
#: "Wait, no, don't take kissing privileges away from me."
“You have to stop throwing yourself into these dangerous battles, darling.” You said, wrapping up the captain's arm. The Black Pearl had gotten into a useless battle that had no outcome for either side with the British Royal Navy. Jack sipped on a bottle of rum, not responding to you. Faint waves crashed outside of the Captain’s cabin, that being the only source of noise throughout the entire ship. Everyone knew that the battle that just ensued was worthless. Half of the crew got injured, and you were one of the few untouched.
Jack had gotten a nasty stab in the arm, and you could already see the blood seeping through the white cloth that you had just wrapped. Muttering a few words underneath your breath, you looked at your lovers’ face. Jack’s face was blank with emotion, which was a sight you almost never saw.
“Darling, you know that battle was worth nothing. I know you have a thing out for the Navy, but think about how many people got hurt during that. There was no gain, only loss.” You took the bottle of rum away from Jack, unwrapping his arm and pouring a bit on his wound. A pained expression turned onto his face, him giving you a confused look. “Had to clean it.” You said, setting the bottle of rum away from him. “I’m not gonna let you drink away your sorrows and guilt in rum either.” You mumbled, cleaning the wound again, wrapping it. The Pearl didn’t need a captain with an infected wound.
Jack once again, just went back to staring at the wall. This was just getting annoying by now. “Until you stop pouting, and talk to me like a human being and go back to being Jack Sparrow,” You paused, gathering up your few things that you had in the Captain’s cabin. “I’ll be sleeping in my old hammock, and there will be no affection. No kisses, no hugs, not even a brush of a hand.” You said, heading for the door. “Also, no rum.” Holding his bottle of rum, and the key to the rum cellar in your hands you walked out.
Jack’s head finally looked at the door, huffing like a small child. “This isn’t fair…” He whined like a small child, flopping back onto his bed. The pirate knew it wasn’t the right thing to sail his crew into battles, but the Navy had been taunting him for a while now and he just needed to finally get his anger out of them. Multiple of their men had either died, or gotten heavily injured though. It may seem there had been no good outcome at all, but to Jack there was. He killed a few of their men.
In most situations, he was happy to just verbally settle things. Most situations. Jack finally sat up on his bed, wincing from the pain in his arm. Getting to his feet, he walked over to his charts and opened his compass. It just spun in circles, not giving him a heading at all.
He slammed the darn thing closed, walking out of the cabin. He looked over at the edge of the ship, watching the crashing waves for a moment. The waves were rather calm, and there was a nice breeze. The Pearl was just going in a random direction, somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean.
The Captain finally took a deep breath, heading down to where the crew’s hammocks were. Looking around the dark room, he pulled out his compass. It landed directly to where you were laying, half asleep.
“Luv, wake up.” He gently shook you awake, watching your eyes flutter open. You stood up out of your hammock, crossing your arms. It was easy to tell that you were annoyed at the Captain, but rather everyone was on the ship currently. Even the monkey that refused to leave.
“Let’s go talk, not here.” Jack went to grab your hand, but you stepped away from him. There was a flash of hurt in his eyes, but sighed and walked away. You followed behind him, willing to see what he wanted to say to you. Once you were up on deck, away from everyone else, Jack immediately turned to you.
“Please, luv, please forgive me. I know that was a useless battle.” He said, a pleading look on his face.
“I’m not the one you should be apologizing to. I’m not injured, Captain.” You said, crossing your arms. “I know, I know you're not injured, but ye said.. That no kisses. I’m not sure if I could live without those or ye might as well send me off to the Kracken again.”
It was a bit funny, watching the proud Jack Sparrow plead to you. Something that you never thought you would see. “Go apologize, to all that were injured in that battle you put us through.” You grabbed his chin, looking directly into his eyes. “I can assure you, the whole crew would like that. None of us are leaving your command, but they could if they really wanted to.” Jack just nodded, stepping away and back down into the crew’s cabin.
You sat down on the steps of the ship, looking up at the sky. After a few minutes, but what felt like forever, your lover came back onto deck.
“Did they accept your apology?” You asked, looking up at the Captain. He just nodded, seeming relieved it was over. “They be goin’ to use that against me, forever.” He said, sitting down next to you.
“Since, I got put the torture of that,I believe that I be getting kissin’ privileges back.” Jack said, wrapping his none injured arm around you. “I suppose so.” You said, placing a soft kiss on his lips.

The cool salty breeze washed over you as you looked out at the open sea. The waves rocked the ship, as a storm loomed in the distance. Closing your eyes, you took a deep breath.
Jack absentmindedly rocked the helm back and forth with the movement of the waves. His eyes were locked on your profile, watching as you stood at the edge of the ship, eyes closed, taking a deep breath in. The sun was washing over you, lighting up your features.
A soft smile sat on his lips as he watched you. It had become harder and harder to keep his eyes off of you over the time you became a member of his crew. He was surprised when you stayed behind after Will and Elizabeth left, back to their normal lives. But he was glad you stayed, you were suited to this life, this was where you were meant to be.
"Dreaming up anything exciting love?" He called out.
Opening your eyes, you looked over at Jack as he watched you from the wheel. You felt butterflies in your stomach as you took in how he was looking at you. A playful smile on his face, as his eyes raked over you.
You smiled softly and shook your head, "I wasn't dreaming up anything at all." Turning, you walked a bit closer, Jack's eyes never left you as you grew closer.
"Not even thinking of the day you might have your own ship?" He asked with a crooked smile.
You leaned on the banister in front of him and smiled "As if you'd ever let me. I'd be too tough of competition for you and you know it."
He leaned forward as he spoke with a voice of awe. "Oh, but wouldn't that be fun?" You let out a soft laugh and shook your head. He watched you for another moment. "Come over here." He said, motioning his head, and waving his hand around.
You furrowed your brow as you walked around to meet him. Stepping aside, he gestured at the helm "Take it."
You gave him a questioning gaze, but he simply motioning his head at the wheel. Stepping in front of the wheel, you cautiously put your hands on the spokes. You felt a chill run up your spine as Jack suddenly stepped up behind you, his chest almost pressed against your back.
Reaching around you, he softly grabbed your hands, moving them to different spokes. Without removing his hands, he stepped a bit closer to you, his chest now pressed against you. His head beside yours, close enough for you to feel his breath on your cheek.
"People often mistake steering a ship a simple feat. But to keep steady on the waves, heading in the right direction, takes skill some don't have." He spoke softly, his hands guiding yours through the motions of the wheel.
Slowly, he removed his hands from yours, hovering them as you continued the motion he had shown you. You moved with the motion of the waves, keeping your direction. He smiled as he watched the concentration on your face.
Leaning in a bit further, his lips almost grazing your ear, he spoke in a whisper. "You're a natural love."
You felt a chill wash over you again, as heat rose up your neck and ears. You spoke softly, your voice somewhat restrained. "You should be careful about what you teach me Jack. I just might start a mutiny and steal the ship."
He smirked, whispering into your ear again. "Wouldn't that be exciting?" He cooed. "But you'd miss me too much." He added, and you could hear the smirk on his lips.
You smiled to yourself. "Always thinking so highly of yourself." You said teasingly as you looked back at him.
Your breath caught in your throat as realized just how close he was. His eyes locked with yours, a crooked smile on his face, his nose close to brushing yours.
Feeling his hands suddenly rest on your hips, your breath hitched in your throat. His eyes slowly left yours, drifting down to settle on your lips. Pulling you back a little, closer to him than you thought possible, his nose brushed yours, as his lips hovered over yours. As his eyes met yours again, you were almost startled by the eagerness within them.
Inching a little closer, you felt his lips barely brush against yours. Your chest tightened as your breath still held in your throat. Jack slowly lifted his head, purposefully brushing his nose against yours, teasing you with the possibility of a kiss.
Just as he began to close in, you jumped as a loud shout came from the other side of the ship.
"Jack! Jack!" Gibb's called out, clearly panicked.
Jack closed his eyes in annoyance as he spun around. You finally took a breath and stepped away, seemingly snapping out of the moment.
"Gibbs! Bad timing as usual. What could you possibly be shouting at now?" He asked with annoyance.
"Jack-" Gibbs stopped in front of the two of you breathlessly. "A ship, coming up on us! Looks like the Navy."
You felt your heart leap a bit as Jack spun around, facing you. He leaned in a little, and spoke softly. "We'll continue this later." He said with a soft smirk and a wink, before he began shouting out orders.
You let out a deep breath, shaking off the moments tension before you started running around the ship preparing to outrun the navy ship. All the while, your thoughts kept leaping back to what happened with Jack and what he said. What exactly was going to happen "later"?

You, Me, And The Seven Seas - James Norrington X Female Reader

James Norrington X Female Reader

You stood in the back corner of the Black Pearl's deck, arms crossed as you leaned against the ebony wood. You stared at James as he swayed and stumbled, standing near the edge of the ship; looking sick from all the alcohol he ingested. He looked awful. Brown hair messy and tangled, put into a ponytail on his head. Outfit in complete ruins, ripped and haggard. His skin, dirty of sweat and grime… He was no longer the Commodore he used to be. Nor was he the man you used to know.
There was an off tension in the air, no one on the ship spoke. Or, more importantly, no one had spoken to James since he "joined" the crew. Not Will, not Jack, and not even Elizabeth. Which you found odd. You thought out of everyone, besides yourself, that she'd speak to him.
Well, you couldn't really say anything. Since his arrival… You hadn't said a word to him either.
You wanted to say something… Anything. James had been your friend. A long time ago. You had met as children, spending most of your time together. It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows though, when you were younger you had been kidnapped by pirates. And with some sort of luck, they didn't kill you. The Captain, Barbossa, surprisingly had mercy, and trained you.
For the next couple of years, you were trained in the ways of becoming a pirate. You had also gone through a lot, Barbossa became a sort of father figure for you, and even for a while, you, Barbossa, and the crew were trapped under a curse. But you much preferred it to your old life of a daughter of a nobleman; trapped with teas and dresses. The only thing you missed from your old life was your friend James. You missed talking to him… You missed his smile; his laugh.
And yet, here he was. Only a few feet from you and you were too scared to go over to him. He hadn't even realized you were there no doubt. And your mind was racing as to what he might say. Would he be happy to see you? Or the opposite? Would he even remember you?
But as your mind was racing with what he could say, it was also racing with insecurity. You had heard from your times at sea, with Jack, Will, and Elizabeth… That the man in question had been engaged or betrothed to Elizabeth for some time. When you had first heard of it, you felt faint. That was when you realized you were still in love with your old best friend.
You wondered if James loved Elizabeth the way you loved him. If he truly cared for her as Will cared truly for her. You felt foolish for hoping he could possibly return your hidden feelings. You felt foolish for wanting the attention of the man, the man you hadn't seen in years.
Swallowing hard and gaining your courage, you pushed off the wall and walked over to him. Leaning against the wooden railing of the Pearl, you stared at James as he stared down at the water below. Seemingly too drunk to realize you were right there.
You bit your lip briefly, not really knowing what to say, "James."
The man snapped his gaze up to you, his eyes widening, his eyes looking over your figure before they narrowed slightly. "You're a pirate?" He asked, spatting in hatred at the word.
You tilted your head to the side, "No hello? It's been years, James."
He scoffed, looking back at the water, "It has been years. Years since you got up and left with no goodbye or explanation."
You pursed your lips, furrowing your eyebrows in confusion. "I didn't just get up and leave, James. I was captured by Barbossa and his men."
He huffed, "How are you alive then? If you cared about our friendship at all, you would've come back." He lifted the rum in his hand to his lips, tilting his head back to take a large sip.
You sputtered out a breathy sigh, you knew he was drunk but this was ridiculous, "I was raised by them to become a pirate. Barbossa spared my life. So I am grateful. And you know how much I care about you and our friendship, if I could've I would've come back." You practically scolded him, as he turned to stare hard at you.
"Then why didn't you?" He asked and you opened your mouth, but closed it again, and that was all James had to see. "That's what I thought." He chugged more rum.
Growling softly, you glared at him as you grabbed the rum bottle from him abruptly, before tossing it over the side of the ship. James stared as the bottle splashed into the water, before sinking.
"Well, that's just a waste." He muttered, before swaying slightly again, almost losing his footing as the ship moved.
"Look at you," You continue to scold, "Drunk and washed out. What happened to the young boy who I used to know? What happened to you that made you so bitter hearted?"
James turned to look back at you, "You. You left and my life went on. Do you know how worried I was? I asked my father where you had gone and he never gave me an answer, telling me that you were a distraction from my education." He ranted angrily. “Good riddance.” He scoffed.
You threw your hands in the air slightly, "I couldn't help that I got captured! I was eleven, James!" He grunted and turned back to the water once more, making you cross your arms, "You're drunk. It's pointless speaking with you when you're like this. If you ever cared about our friendship at all, come find me when you're sober."
Night fell upon the horizon, stars sprinkled the dark sky as the bright moon shines down upon you. You couldn't sleep. Not even a wink. Every time you tried to, you'd close your eyes and see James. Remembering your time with him. Running through gardens, sword fighting with sticks, watching the stars before your father called you back inside. You wished you could remember more of your childhood, but after so many years… It was becoming a blur of greens and blues.
You almost felt guilty. You wished that you were able to see James grow up… And grow up along-side him. You wished you could've seen when he became Commodore, knowing that was a proud moment in his book. You could almost see it. Two rows of men with their swords pointed to the sky, creating a hall for him to walk through. Even though you hated the British Crown, you were proud of him nonetheless.
The moon seemed to smile down at you, but you couldn't smile back. Your hands gripped the ebony wood railing tightly as you stared at the dark waters below. Your mind ran with "what ifs" and what could've been.
The stars, they reminded you so much of James. Possibly from all the times you stargazed together in your mother's garden, but you could almost remember, or visualize, how the stars reflected in his stormy eyes. It was foolish to think what you felt back then was love… But, you couldn't help but think it was.
Hearing the soft creaks of the floorboards, you turned your head to find James. He stood there, almost awkwardly, as he looked anywhere but at you. It was silent, only the sound of the soft sea crashing against the ship made any noise.
"I am sorry, Y/N." He finally spoke up, voice unsteady. You listened quietly, patiently. "What I had said to you was out of line."
You hummed, nodding. "I wish our reunion didn't start off as such." You pursed your lips as you stared up at the moon. "It wasn't what I had in mind."
"What did you have in mind?" James asked, coming to stand beside you, mimicking your stance with his hands on the railing.
"I don't know." You sighed tiredly. "I don't know what to think anymore."
It was silent once more as the two of you stared at the moon… Like you used to. There was an odd tension in the air between you too, but nonetheless it was peaceful. Almost relieving even. To know he was alive and by your side once more.
James worried on his bottom lip, side glancing at you briefly before looking back at the moon. He had missed you, there was no doubt about that, but he wished things were different. Looking over at you again, he watched as the moon's soft rays cast sweet shadows over your face, almost making your skin sparkle in its light. You were radiant; stunning.
In his time without you, he thought of you often. He always wondered what happened to you. And he grieved for a long time before he got swept into his duties. He had always wondered, if you were alive, what you would look like. And his image of you didn't do you justice. You were an angel, a Goddess among me. If he had the chance, and you hadn't been captured, he would've married you.
He took notice of how your nose sloped, and your hair blew slightly in the soft breeze. You have changed since he lost you all those years ago. You weren't wearing those dresses -- wearing flowy trousers, a billowy blouse with puffy sleeves, and a thick corset. If anything, you screamed pirate. Something he was told to hate, track down, and capture… If not kill.
He felt terrible for what he had said to you, he felt terrible for his drunk ramblings. He was broken, hardly the man you once knew as a child. He wasn't as care-free anymore. Nor was he as caring. Growing up had changed him. Losing his rank had changed him. Becoming a pirate changed him.
Licking his lips, he opened his mouth to speak, "Remember when we used to dance, you used to stand on my feet?" He asked, voice thick and deep as he looked back at the moon.
"Yes…" You answered softly, smiling lightly at the thought. "I remember quite well."
"You had two left feet, if I remember correctly. Never knew how to dance properly." James spoke with a hint of a grin, as you giggled lightly; music to his ears. Out of everything, your laugh never changed.
"I still don't, well not really anyway. Ballroom dancing isn't really my forte." You laughed out breathily.
James turned to you to raise an eyebrow, "You never learned?" He asked and you shook your head, turning to look at him in return.
"No time to really learn when you're out at sea." You shrugged, and James nodded slowly, pondering for a moment before he offered his hand to you. You looked at his hand, to his eyes and back. "James?"
"Dance with me. You said you never have time, why not now?" He asked, giving you a small smile as you stared at him in surprise. At your silence, he began to worry, "Just like old times?" He added, and you bit your lip, hesitantly placing your soft hand in his calloused one.
Pulling you closer to him, James placed his hand on your waist, his other holding your hand in the air beside you both. Your hand slipped over his tattered old uniform, resting on his shoulder. You looked into his eyes, seeing that he was already staring at you.
"James…" You began but he interrupted.
"Just follow my lead." He began, before giving you a small smirk, "Just don't step on my toes."
You bit your lip as you nodded your head slightly, "I'll try not to. But no promises."
As James began to move, you stared down at your boots and his, trying to make sure not to mess up or step on his toes. Feeling his hand leave your waist, James placed his finger underneath your chin, raising your head to look at him. "Keep your eyes on me. Trust the beat."
You gulped lightly, "There is no beat. Nor any music."
"Humor me, darling." You flushed at his endearment, as he placed his hand back on your waist. "Just look at me, and listen to the beat."
You listened, staring into his stormy eyes as you listened to the soft thumps of your boots against the wood.
Daa da da. Daa da da. Daa da da.
You were entirely swept up in the dance, completely forgetting where you were, the world around you slipping away until it was only you and James. You had dreamed about this once. A long time ago. Dancing with the man before you, though in your head he was clean shaven and his hair and attire were not a mess. But, you didn't mind. This… This right here was far better than any dream you could possibly have.
James couldn't help but stare, letting his eyes rake over your features as you danced with him under the moonlight. He noticed the soft freckles that dotted your nose, and the way your lashes danced upon the apples of your cheeks. The nervousness you had felt and he had seen seemed to wash away, as you let yourself relax and smile. Breathtaking. He thought. Incredibly so.
You both slowed to a stop, your breathing only being slightly altered as you stared into his eyes. You felt so overwhelmed. Overwhelmed with the happiness and love you felt for James.
"I haven't danced… I haven't danced since we were children." You confessed, voice only slightly above a whisper.
"No one to dance with?" He asked, and you softly shook your head.
"No," You began, closing your eyes. "No… I could've had plenty of dance suitors." You felt your hand tighten in his as your hand on his shoulder fiddled with the color of his old uniform. "Only none of them were you."
James stood still, shocked by your statement; feeling his face and neck flush. You both stayed frozen in the dance stance, you feeling as embarrassed as you thought was possible, and James feeling as surprised and bewildered as he ever had been.
"And I know I can't possibly have your heart." You muttered, shaking your head as you looked down. "I had seen the way you looked at Elizabeth and I had heard of your prior engagement."
James let out a sigh, dropping your hand which sent your heart to your stomach briefly before both of his hands cupped your cheeks, his calloused thumbs brushing across your cheeks. He stared down at you, his gaze piercing as he tried to think of what to say. And you stared back, desperately wanting something… Some sort of explanation.
"It is true. I was priorly engaged to Elizabeth. But that is in the past now. Our engagement was arranged by her father." He licked his lip, "And yes, I did have affection towards her." Your heart was barely afloat. "But she was never you." He confessed, surprising you this time as you stared up at him with wide eyes. "She never snuck off with me to a garden after tea time, she never stargazed with me past curfew, and she never had my heart. You stole it the moment I meant you.."
You sucked in a breath, heart beating rapidly in your chest. "What?" You breathed. He was silent for a short while before he smiled softly at you as he lowered his hands from your face. His fingers trailed down to your jawline, the tips of his thumbs brushing your bottom lip.
"I love you." He said, bringing his forehead close to yours. "I'm sorry for the pain and confusion I've caused you."
Your eyes widened, tears pooling at the corners. He loves me? He loves me?! You thought, blinking hard as you tried to fight back your feelings, but you were unsuccessful. "You love me..?" You whispered, as he closed his eyes and leaned forward, his warm lips meeting yours.
As you kissed back, it was like nothing you'd ever experienced. It was like fire. Like fireworks. Like the wind blowing through the trees as they danced with each other, their leaves rustling in the night sky as they twirled around each other and disappeared among the stars. He wrapped his arms around your waist tightly, pulling you closer to him as you moved your free hand up to stroke his bread-covered cheek. You were dizzy. You were intoxicated.
The kiss broke and you pulled apart, gasping slightly for air as you continued to stare into his blue eyes. He smiled at you, as your hand wandered his cheeks, stroking his beard gently; it tickled against your palm. His arms tightened around you and you lost yourself in the blissful euphoria of the moment. There was no more pain or sorrow between you. Just joy and adoration.
"I love you, adore you, darling," James whispered, leaning forwards to press his forehead against yours again, closing his eyes as he sighed happily. "More than words can express."
A tear fell from your eye as you buried your face into his chest. His arms wrapped securely around you as he rocked you gently, his hand stroking your back soothingly. "I love you too." You whispered quietly as you closed your eyes.
The warmth radiating off of his body brought you comfort and peace. You wanted to stay there forever; with him, in his arms. He rested his head on top of yours, listening to your soft breathing as he pulled you tighter to him, his nose pressing against your head, as you smiled to yourself. You would never let go. Never again.

James norrington x reader
sex with the commodore
It has been around two weeks after mine and Mr James norrington wedding, making me a Norrington! . The wedding ceremony was small with a blue theme to match my dress and his custom tailored commodore suit.
The guest list included some town folk as painters and caterers, his mother, and of course my best friends William and Elizabeth turner for I had been pirating with them for years now. Luckily but unsurprisingly my older brother Captain jack sparrow and my father Blackbeard walked me down the aisle, and after our vows jack left on his ship with the crew I’d known for so long because they were being chased by the French. “Goodbye love, and treat my sister well commodore, or else I will hunt you down like you've done me. This is the day you will always remember as the day you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow.”
and with that he swung off on a rope much like my father who after congratulating me and giving a “talk” to James, vanished into thin air.. it’s really his thing. Everything was going great but I felt some tension between us. Sexual tension.
After the commodore comes home-James you’re home! How was your day?” “Better now that I’ve Seen you Mrs y/n norrington. I’ll never get over that. How did I bag someone like you? and to think a pirate!” “The feeling is mutual james. I truly love you Mr commodore, and ‘to think you chased me as much as I chased you.
A high class man head over heels .” He chuckled and replied “Love you to y/n,” and engulfed me in a kiss. I decided to make my move later in the night and ask if he wanted tea and bread with butter with me. He obviously obliged my homemade bread. I had rum secretly and he noticed as when I set down my tea cup he inspected it.
“What is this dear?” “Nothing… fine. Well old habits die hard ok? He granted me a smile and said “that’s quite all right. I know just the feeling.” In the bed- “James honey?” “Yes y/n?” “I’ve been noticing some tension between us… I hope to fix it..” “ I know exactly what you’re talking about.” I suddenly blurted out “I’m a virgin!” James got extremely close to my ear, so close I could feel his breath which sent a tingle in my body and said “Looks like I get to be the first dear.. To make you mine and only mine.”
He got on top of me and cupped my cheek softly with his hand and looked seemed to look at me with lust in his eyes. As he engulfed us in a fiery passionate kiss I couldn’t help melted under his touch. “God y/n you taste like rum and flowers. What an odd yet compelling mix.”
James whispered. I placed my hands on the back of his neck just as he began to trail soft and wet kisses on my jaw all the way up to my ear. Then he made his way down to my neck and nibbled along it sucking and biting definition leaving hickeys. “Y/n, this needs to go..” he motioned to my night gown and as he tried to unbutton it he looked semi frustrated and I couldn’t help but chuckle. “Well I guess I have too do this now..”
“what is it James?” James rips off the gown and throws it across the room and he takes off his undershirt and bottoms. “That was hot.” I mutter. “Good.” I couldn’t help but blush as he said that with conviction. He was the perfect mix of sweet and rough in bed. THIRD POV- The commodore trailed wet kisses back down your neck and onto your collar bone leaving love bites when he suddenly takes your nipple into his mouth. “Ah” you moan. As he toyed with your sensitive buds whilst getting more moans out of you, you feel yourself growing wetter and wetter. Clenching your legs due to the pleasure James opens them and says “I love it when you moan for me and when you wet.”
He leans to your ear and says “so wet.”when he made his way back to your cunt and begun to lick it all around.
“Ahh. “ “hmm.” You moaned. “Mmm” he growled into your cunt. The vibrations only increased your pleasure which then increased more as he stuck a finger inside you. “James!” You gasp. “Do you like that y/n?” “Y-y-yes.” you reply. As he sticks another finger in he starts thrusting them and scissoring inside you while licking your clit.
You moaned as he played with your cunt as he licked and thrusted and talked dirty to you. That was when you started feeling something in your stomach. The feeling only grew and grew until you yelled… “J-JAMES!!” and clamped around his fingers and head with your legs. James pulled out his fingers while making eye contact and licked all your cum up.
“Taste like my wife. That’s enough prep.. are you ready?” “Y-yes James.” After you came down from your high, James put you into the missionary position and lifted your legs over his shoulders. He grabs your hands and intertwines them with his while whispering “I love you.” “I love you too ja..”
You were interrupted by the commodore suddenly penetrating you. Every inch hurt slightly but when he filled you all the way up with his length, you felt so good. “God you’re so tight y/n. Time to loosen you up a bit.” As he thrusted his cock inside and out of you slowly he began to grunt and dirty talk some more.
He was going slowly to try to limit your pain but then you spoke up in the midst of moans and grunts. “James … go faster.. make me yours.” “My pleasure dear.” He pulled out almost all the way and then… SLAMMED his cock inside you and went faster and faster. He flipped you over and propped up your ass and placed your head in the pillows. “Ahhh” he groaned. “I’m gonna finish y/n” “where do you want it.”
“Give it to me james.” As he hit your g-spot one last time you both yell, “JAMES!” “Y/N!!” You clamped around his cock and milked him for every last drop of cum. “That was great mr commodore.” “I could say the same. I love you y/n. Oh. And just a thought… we should try more things next time.” “Yes sir.” “Let’s go get cleaned up in the bath and get to bed y/n.”
You fell asleep In each others arms the last words leaving your mouth of the night being “I love you.”

Flufftober Day 8: Rainy Day ~ Theodore Groves/OC [1,713 words]
My Flufftober '23 masterpost can be found here 💜✨
This is set in the same universe as my James Norrington/OC story, Catch the Wind, so some details might not make sense if you haven't read that. There'll be more parts to this at some point, not related to flufftober, but if I didn't end it where it did, it'd end up being a behemoth and not ready for day 8. So we'll call it a starting point 😏
Tumblr media
Hope was observant - and, better still, she was no fool. She knew that her employers were…out of the ordinary. More so the mistress than the master, but then again seeing as he’d married the mistress, he had to have his fair share of quirks. But none of that was something she considered to be a bad thing. In fact, it made working for them rather pleasant. She didn’t comment upon the oddities to their faces, she wasn’t an idiot, and more importantly she didn’t comment upon them behind their backs, either. No matter how many people pressed her for details on whether they matched up to all of the strange stories surrounding the two of them.
They paid her exceedingly well, and treated her better still, and that was more than enough to earn Hope’s loyalty. Which was why, when she entered the kitchen one morning to find a strange man in the pantry, she thought little of taking up the nearest sharp object. It happened to be a carving fork rather than a knife, but she brandished it before her with two hands.
The master was away, and the mistress would likely be abed for a few more hours still. She only prayed little Antonia would remain upstairs until she could convince the intruder to leave.
“I don’t know who you are,” she said, “but you must leave. Quickly. Or else I’ll call for the master of the house.”
If he had been watching the house, he would know that the master was not home. But hopefully this had been a flight of opportunism, and not a calculated move. Hopefully he had come here alone, and not with some horrid gang.
The man turned and blinked at her in dismay, raising his hands up before his chest, palms out as though surrendering. He certainly wasn’t dressed like a vagrant - in a waistcoat, shirt, and breeches that were in good shape albeit with some mud, and with long dark hair combed neatly back and tied at the nape of his neck.
“I’m afraid there’s been a misunderstanding,” he said.
“Indeed there has,” Hope replied evenly, “you are in the wrong house, sir.”
“My name is Theodore Groves, Miss…?” when she did not supply her name, he continued. “Miss. I am an old colleague of Admiral- er, that is, an old friend of the Norringtons. I returned here with Mr Norrington late last night, and it was thought best not to wake any of the servants to prepare a bedroom for me. I am here at the invitation of the Norringtons, you have my word.”
“Groves?” she echoed quietly, faltering.
“I was a Lieutenant under Admiral Norrington in his days with the Royal Navy. I’ve maintained correspondence with the Norringtons since then with some regularity. If you will allow me to go to my bag, I can fetch a letter that might prove it.”
Hope felt the colour drain from her face, and she immediately discarded the carving fork down to the tabletop. For she recognised the name, and were he not who he said he was, he would have no way of concocting such a story.
“Oh my God,” she said thinly. “I am so sorry, sir, I didn’t realise that…if I had known…”
“You’re not in the habit of threatening guests of the Norringtons with kitchen implements, then?” he asked wryly, a small smile on his face.
She had to place a hand onto the tabletop in order to remain upright. Unconventionality of her employers aside, she’d just wielded a carving fork at a good friend of theirs. It was a sackable offense in anybody’s estimation. Not growing to comfortable here was something she’d vowed not to do – not because she thought they might kick her out at a moment’s notice, but because it would be all too easy for an idiot to take their kindness for weakness and push their luck here. Hope had no wish to do that, for it seemed the easiest way to ruin a good thing.
“I am so sorry,” she said again.
The smile quickly slipped from Groves’ face as he appeared to realise the extent of her horror, and he held out his hands, palms flat, approaching as though hoping to calm a spooked horse.
“Truly, do not trouble yourself with it,” he insisted, stopping just out of arm’s reach. “It warms me, if anything, to see the sort of loyalty the Norringtons inspire in those in their employ.”
Hope nodded, her face quickly trading going cold and stark-white to blazing crimson.
“Well, can I fetch you anything, sir?”
“Are you a cook?”
“No, a maid – in a manner of speaking. But the cook isn’t here on a full-time basis, there’s no need for that, so if you’re resolved to wait for him you’ll only go hungry.”
“In a manner of speaking?” he echoed, a small smile on his face. “That sounds far more suspect than I think you intended. Like you’re a maid by day but assassin by night.”
Hope breathed a laugh. Yes. He was definitely a friend of the mistress.
Tumblr media
Theodore Groves, from their first meeting onwards, was on Hope’s mind more than was strictly necessary. Nor wise. At first it was embarrassment at their first meeting – as well as worry. Mrs Norrington would perhaps find it amusing, but Mr Norrington, while not cruel, was a deal more serious than his wife. More of a stickler for the done way of things.
But, that night, when Mrs Norrington introduced their guest to Hope as she cleared the dinner table for them, he smiled politely at her as though they had never met…and offered her a reassuring smile when her employers’ attention moved elsewhere. The worry had left her then, but her curiosity had only grown.
He was kind. A kindness that seemed to seep into his face and his general demeanour and shine through – and he was a dream of a guest to deal with, for he had her employers’ habit of seeking to make her job easier for her rather than falling into bluster about getting what they pay for. Plates were organised and neatly stacked at one end of the table for her to collect after dinner, they made their own bed after rising, and Mrs Norrington even insisted on dressing herself, or making do with only the help of her husband – and on being called Mistress Theodora, when they were in conversation. Only because Hope could not quite bring herself just to call her Theo.
Mrs Norrington, she knew, had profited from a great deal of upwards mobility, and so Hope suspected that to be the root of her kindness, perhaps not taking kindle to being on the other side of the great divide, and Mr Norrington likely was content to follow his wife’s lead for the most part – although he took far more easily to the conventional ways of addressing servants. The matter of dressing, she thought, was less an oddity and more a great sadness. It was no secret that she’d taken a knife to the belly in all of that mess a few years ago, and what it had cost her. She could not be blamed for wishing to keep the evidence of such a time private. But, to the point, guests were always a wild card, and Groves was proving to be far towards the positive end of the spectrum than of the ilk who traipsed mud across the house with smirks on their faces because they knew it would not be their job to clean it.
No, Mr Groves seemed to suffer from the opposite problem. The same sort that Mrs Norrington did, if their second real encounter was anything to go by.
She’d been in the midst of mending one of Mrs Norrington’s favourite nightgowns at the great, cleaned, table in the kitchen when their guest had all but burst into the room.
“It’s raining,” he said in response to her wide-eyed stare.
“…It’s England, sir,” she said slowly.
He smiled at that, his face boyish in his amusement, before she could worry that she’d sounded rude.
“Yes, I’m aware of that – but you have an awful lot of clothing on that line out there.”
Oh. Oh no.
Such was her haste to race out, basket in hand, that she didn’t even notice Groves not five paces behind until he was at her side, carefully unpinning clothing from the line and throwing it into the basket as she did.
“You shouldn’t, sir,” she insisted – albeit distractedly. “If the Norringtons see…”
“They’re out – they’ve taken Antonia into town. And you must know Theodora well enough by now to know she’d judge me more harshly if I did not help you,” he snorted. “Furthermore, I feel I owe you for that dreadful fright I gave you.”
He had a point there – and she didn’t really anticipate their ire, but it simply did not look good for their guest, for their very old friend, to be seen engaging in drudgery while he stayed. But the rain grew heavier, raining down upon them with the ferocity of hailstones, and whatever reservations she had were soon washed away by it.
Groves proved to be a skilled tactician, too, for he soon realised that she could take down the clothing at least twice as quickly as he, and adopted a new strategy. Shrugging off his coat, he stood in a shirt and waistcoat that soon grew sodden, and shielded the basket with his overcoat so that the clothing within wouldn’t be drenched by the time she was done. He cut a ridiculous figure, hunched awkwardly over the basket as though his back was bent with age he could hardly boast of. When his actions earned him a disbelieving stare, he simply laughed and urged her to hurry. She didn’t need to be told twice.
They returned indoors freezing, soaked through, robbed of their breath by cold and exertion both…but giggling like children. Best of all, most of the clothing was little more than damp. And they could both pretend that the flush of their cheeks was thanks to the cold, rather than the fact that they could not look one another in the eye without smiling.

General POV.
'Go puppet! Walk the plank! ' You could hear the pirates scream at Elizabeth.
Will was trying to get loose of the grip the pirates had on him.
'Barbossa, you lying bastard!' He spat at Barbossa.
'You swore they'd go free!'
'Don't dare impugn me honor, boy!' Barbossa spat.
'I agreed she'd go free, but it was you who specify when or where. 'He told Will
'Though it does seem a shame to lose something so fine, ' He said with an smirk.
Looking at Elizabeth and then to Rose who was standing next to him. Held by 2 pirates.
He stroked his hand against her cheek. To which Rose turned her head away.
'So I'll be havin' that dress back before you go.' Barbossa said looking at Elizabeth.
Elizabeth turned towards Barbossa.
'Lizzy don't ' Rose begged. But she was already undressing herself in her underdress.
'Goes with your black heart.' Elizabeth spat at Barbossa while throwing him the dress.
'Ooh its still warm.' Barbossa smirked throwing the dress in the crew.
Elizabeth walked to the end of the plank. And looked at Will and then at Rose.
Rose gestured that she would follow her.
But before Elizabeth could turn around a pirate thought it took to long stomped on the plank which made Elizabeth fall.
Then they pushed Jack forward.
'I really rather hoped we were past all this.' He said.
Barbossa walked forward lying his arm around his shoulder.
'Jack. Jack.
Did you not notice. That be the same little island that we made you governor of on our last little trip.' He said looking towards the island.
'I did notice' Jack said while looking at the island and then turning around.
Rose looked up and listened towards their conversation.
So they're willing to bring him back to the same island they dropped him last time.
'That's Horrible ! ' Rose spat towards Barbossa and kicked the pirate behind her so she could walk forward.
' You really are a bunch of asshole's aren't you' Rose yelled at Barbossa.
She was almost with Barbossa when he turned around and grabbed her by her wrists.
'And you.. oh you Miss Rivers. Always a pleasure to see such a strong hearted woman. Sadly you need to wait a second you're after Jack' Barbossa said while throwing my wrists back down.
He walked towards Jack again.
'Perhaps you'll be able to conjure up another miraculous escape.
But I doubt it.
Off you go' Barbossa said while pointing his sword at Jack.
'Last time you left me a pistol with one shot.' Jack mumbled
'By the powers you're right.' Barbossa said.
'Where be Jack's pistol?
Bring it forward!'
'Seeing as their three of us. A gentleman would give us 3 pistols with 3 shots.'
'It'll be one pistol as before.
And you can be the gentleman Shoot one. And the other I'm not so sure about yet' Barbossa smirked at Rose.
Jack looked with frowned brows to Barbossa when he touched Rose.
But Barbossa smirked and threw his sword and pistol overboard.
Which made Jack jump after it.
Rose walked up towards the plank. But Barbossa pulled her back.
'I have a proposition to make Miss Rivers.
You're a fierce young woman. Which we could use in a crew like ours. ' He started.
'Shut up' Rose said. As she walked towards the plank.
'Are you sure Miss Rivers. We can offer you a lot. Especially your freedom. Because I can feel how trapped you were in your tight dresses and your spirit bound to marry a man who you don't love' Barbossa said smoothly.
Rose slowly backed her way up to plank. And looked at Barbossa.
She saluted him with a wink and then jumped off the plank.
They all moved towards the rail. And a crewmember yelled
'You can still change your mind y'know?'
'I'D RATHER DIE HERE BUT THANKS' Rose shouted back as she started to swim towards the beach of the island.
Rosemary's POV
I was crawling on the beach. Coughing to get air into my lungs.
Elizabeth was already there walking over to her. But Jack was quicker.
'Are you all right?' He asked me.
'Well how fine can I be?
I just wanted to save Elizabeth but now I'm here!' she looked around.
'Is there anything around here?' she walked past Jack.
Elizabeth was walking over to her and pulled her in a tight hug.
Elizabeth started crying and sank down to her feet. Rose felt herself lower to the weight of Elizabeth.
'Thankyou for coming for me' she chocked out.
'Always Lizzy' Rose smiled at her kissing her forehead.
Jack was walking around the beach. 'It's the second time I've watched that man sail away with my ship.' He sighed.
'I'm not going to kiss you to, if you think that's what I do ' I said to him.
After a while Elizabeth stood up and walked after him.
'You were marooned on this island before. We can escape in the same way you did then!'
Elizabeth shouted at him.
'To what point and purpose, young missy?' Jack spun around
'The Black Pearl is gone. Unless you have a lot of sails hidden in that bodice...
Which is unlikely..
Young Mr. Turner will be dead long before you can reach him. ' Jack said as he walked off towards a palm tree he was knocking on it.
'But you're Captain Jack Sparrow. ' Elizabeth said while holding that palm tree.
Jack was taking huge steps forward like he was counting something.
I looked up to them from the beach. I let Elizabeth say what she wanted to say I was thinking about what was all happening to me. But I couldn't help but giggle when I saw Jack take these huge steps. He looked like a mad man.
I walked up towards them.
'You vanished from under the eyes of seven agents of the East India Company.
You sacked Nassau port without a shot' Elizabeth complained to him.
Jack was now jumping on the ground where you could hear a squeak.
I walked up to them looking at the place he was jumping.
'What in the world' I asked myself.
'Are you the pirate I've read about or not?' Elizabeth said looking him dead in the eye.
'How did you escape last time' Elizabeth asked.
Jack sighed and pushed Elizabeth a few steps in front of him.
He was trying to say something.
'Last time I was here a grand total of three days. All right?'
Which made me choke on my own spit. 'Excuse me? So what Gibbs told were all ghost stories?'
I walked up to Jack who was now lifting up something on the ground.
'Let me explain Love' He said to me.
'Last time,
The rumrunners used this island as a cache.
They came by, and I was able to barter passage off.
From the looks of things, they've long been out of business' Jack said while walking down small stairs
'Probably have your bloody friend Norrington to thank for that. ' Jack said while pointing specific at Elizabeth.
'I don't blame you Love. I know you hate him.' He said winking at me. Which made me blush.
Elizabeth looked at me sheepishly and frowning. And I just shrugged.
Jack was holding a few bottles of rum up and I ran forward to grab them so he could get out.
'So that's it, then?' Elizabeth said.
'That's the secret of the grand adventure of the infamous Jack Sparrow!' She spat at him.
'You spent three days lying on a beach drinking rum.' She looked him straight in the eyes.
To which Jack look around.
'Is she always this scary?'
I shrugged 'neh'
'Well Welcome to the Caribbean love!' Jack said fake smiling and pushed a bottle of rum in her hands. And he walked over towards the beach.
'And you!' Elizabeth spat at me.
'Why were you even with him at the first place and what is that tension between you to!'
Elizabeth threw her hands up.
'he's a pirate Rose!? A Pirate!'
I sighed.
'I know I know. But do you know how hard it was to lose you, see the Black Pearl sail away with you on it. Instead of me.
Me and Will wanted to save you straight away. But Norrington wasn't having that. He was not planning on sailing out for at least three days!
3 DAYS ! Elizabeth!' I yelled at her.
'Will and I got desperate. And we found out that Jack was in the brig so we decided our best shot was to go with him.
And he has been nothing but kind to both me and Will!' I looked her straight in the eye.
'He has done more for you. Then Norrington ever will. And you know that just as much as I do.'
'So please! Elizabeth. Lets think of a plan tomorrow but for now. I would like to sleep and have a little bit to much alcohol in my veins!' I said as I walked past her towards the beach.
'Oh and also ' I walked back to her and gave her my coat.
'You're probably cold' I said with a soft smile.
'Now please come and take a nap or something Liz' I begged her.
-At night-
Elizabeth might have had a bit to much rum. I thought to myself.
She was only eighteen she had never more then a small glass of wine.
Elizabeth and Jack were dancing around the fire together singing.
When they were done they came over to me Elizabeth sitting next to her. Laying back in the sand.
She was asleep in a second.
Jack waved towards me signaling that I should come sit with him.
I looked over to Elizabeth and saw she was fast asleep before I slowly stood up.
I know noticed that I had quite a bit of alcohol in my veins.
I scooted towards Jack and let myself fall next to him.
'Is she asleep? ' Jack asked.
'Yeah she really is out' I replied to him.
'You know,' I started.
'You could have told me. That Gibbs his whole story wasn't true.
You just waited here and got lucky.
That's a whole different story' I said to him chuckling. While I wanted to take another sip out of my rum bottle but noticed it was empty.
I threw my bottle into the fire. Which made the glass splatter.
And I took Jacks bottle ' putting it to my mouth.'
'Yes I know. But I'm not the one who made that story up' Jack said smirking.
'And who am I to let them think otherwise'
I chuckled he was kinda right tho.
Jack took my bottle it was almost empty. As he wanted to put it against his mouth. I coughed.
'Maybe I wanted the last drop Jack?~ ' I said with a smirk.
He sighed but he did let go of the bottle and gave it to me.
I looked over at Elizabeth.
'Lizzie? Are you awake? Lizz?' I asked. No reaction.
'Good' I told myself I put the last bit of rum in my mouth. But I didn't swallow.
Instead I turned around and sat on Jacks lap.
I held his chin with my finger and parted his mouth a bit.
Then I kissed him but I let the rum slide in his mouth. I broke the kiss. Wanting to wipe the last bit of rum of my mouth and neck . but Jack stopped my hand and wiped the rum of with his finger licking it up. Then he went down my neck but this time with his mouth.
He lapped up all the bit of rum on my neck. But he didn't stop there.
'Well Jack~
I don't think I've had had enough rum for that' I said giggling while I pushed myself off him rolling next to him in the sand.
I heard Jack grunt. But he steadied himself. And laid down to.
We fell asleep shortly after.

Heartstrings - Chapter 1
Tumblr media
hello! i have decided to bite the bullet and finally start a chapter story. i'm gonna be honest, its a lot like your basic enemies to lovers but you can't really go wrong with enemies to lovers!
pairing - jack sparrow x reader
warnings - mention of death
They all say you are crazy, but don’t believe them.
Something about the rush of the wind, the rough swaying of the seas have called you. Joining the British Royal Navy had been a desire for you since you had been a young child with dreams. Something that you thought would bring great honor, and maybe you would even be famous. Being a female in the Navy wasn’t something that was very common, but you always finished first before even the strongest man. Being a woman in these times was harsh, but you always got through it.
Soon you had sustained a rather harsh injury, and an overall decision your commander had transferred you underneath the East India Trading Company. It wasn’t much of a change to you, there was just less sea time involved.
Boots clicked against the polished wooden floor, as you walked through the lamp-lit hallway. A stone cold expression masked your face, as you walked through the hallways for what seemed like for hours. Another pair of boots could soon be heard coming towards you, “Y/N. Lord Cutler Beckett wants to speak with you.” One of your commanders said, and you nodded. Turning on your heel, you walked up a flight of stairs.
Everyone in your section knew how powerful and crazy you were, and they tended to steer away from you. Your sword skills were suspiciously similar to a way a Pirate would. Some people had questioned you about it, but it was just the way you had been taught growing up.
Pirates were something that you absolutely despised, and you hope that you could stay as far as you could away from those rum soaked squabblers. With all your time in the EITC and the Royal Navy, you had only run in with pirates about a half of dozen times.
The most infamous pirate you had met was the one and only Jack Sparrow. You had only met him once, but you would rather keep it that way. The way he spoke, or even breathed angered you.
The sectional you had been placed in kept rather close to shore, even when on ships. Sometimes you wonder what it would be like to travel across the sea, even to the northern side. The Caribbeans, The Bahamas, something new. Of course, it was a small choice that you would be selected to go to those types of places. As they said, women were too weak to do those types of jobs. You didn’t really understand why you couldn’t go places like your male comrades, but you didn’t complain.
Raising a hand, you knocked on the door to Lord Beckett’s office. “Enter.” You heard a voice enter, and you entered the room. “Y/N.” You saw the Lord sitting at a table, sipping on a cup of tea. “Please, sit down.” You nodded, sitting down across from him. T
The Lord poured a cup of tea for you, gently setting it down in front of you. “I called you in here to talk to you about something, about a certain pirate.” The word pirate caught your attention, and you raised a brow at the mention of a pirate. “I don’t entangle myself with beings like that, I’d rather keep some kind of dignity.” You said, taking a sip of the black tea.
“You see, there is a certain pirate, you may have heard of him. Jack Sparrow?” The word made you keep a deep breath, setting down the cup of tea. “I know you haven’t had much time on the sea, and this is your chance Y/N. If you can kill him, I will guarantee you a more honorable role in the East India Trading company; Instead of patrolling the hallways every single day of your miserable life.” You looked at him, taking a few deep breaths.
“I only have one question, Lord Beckett. Why me? Why one of the only women here?” You asked, and which seemed to catch the Lord a little bit off guard. “Well, you see Y/N. I’ve seen the way you fight, and I think you have a genuine chance of killing Jack Sparrow. It seems impossible, half of my men have given their own lives trying to take that man's life.” He said, swirling another sugar cube into his tea.
You nodded, thinking for a moment. “I will take the deal, under one condition.” You said, standing up and pushing your chair in. “Which what is?” He asked, a devilish smile on his face. “If I successfully kill the notorious Jack Sparrow, I’ll need help from a crew, if i’m not mistaken? I want to be able to choose my own crew, and I want your best men.”
Lord Beckett nodded, “I will allow that, under one condition. Your husband cannot go, we don’t need any distractions that may disrupt your mission.” You nodded, agreeing to his terms.

Warnings: Love at first sight, tension, teasing, taunting, awkwardness, nervousness, embarrassment, anxiety, crying, slight angst, and fluff
Carina had a surprise for you, or rather, something she desperately needed to tell you. So, you waited in the little garden that the two of you would frequent regularly. It was a nice garden, away from the bustling streets and rowdy people; a little secret haven for you and your best friend. You found it when you were both kids. Both growing up in the same orphanage, you both bonded quickly, having similar views and ideas. She loved the stars, as did you, but your fondness was truly for botany. You loved plants, flowers, and all of nature really. You became a sort of healer, using plants and flowers, or whatever you could find, to help those in need. Though, similar to Carina, many people thought of you as a witch too.
Sitting on an old stone bench, you gazed at the garden around you, taking in the beautiful flowers and overgrown hedges and bushes. You didn't know why this garden became abandoned, or overgrown, but you were glad the two of you found it. It was the perfect place to hide, talk about anything, and just relax. You looked up at the sky above, smiling slightly as your mind saw different objects in the passing clouds. A cloud in the shape of a cat, or even one that looked like a frog.  You smiled to yourself before shaking your head slightly and closing your eyes briefly. There was no point in daydreaming; you'd get nowhere if you weren't focused and focused you were, so you opened them again, focusing solely on what lay in front of you before you flinched back; Carina stood right in front of you.
She gave you a taunting smile as you held a hand to your chest in shock and surprise before sitting beside you on the stone bench. "Daydreaming again?" She asked, and you let out a sigh, giving her a side glance.
"I was but then you showed up." You said playfully, as Carina just rolled her eyes.
"You do want to hear what I have to say, don't you?" She asked, and you nodded, turning your body slightly to look at her, giving her your full attention. You watched as she let out a sigh before doing the same, seemingly very nervous, which made you frown slightly; worried. "I have found my father." She answered, and your eyebrows went straight up.
"Pardon?" You muttered, watching her with wide eyes as she continued.
Carina fidgeted with her hands in her lap, "You know when I went away for a while?" She asked, and you nodded.
"Of course." You answered, "I was worried sick about you."
Carina pursed her lips, "Well, on that trip, one of the pirates was... Is my father."
You stared at her, unbelieving, "Your father's a pirate?" You asked incredulously.
Carina shrugged, "Yes, he is." She mumbled, looking down at her hands. Then she paused, before letting out another sigh and looking directly at you. "And I've come to the conclusion that I want to travel with him and his crew."
"Oh," You responded quietly, thinking about that for a moment. Carina had found her father, though a private, you didn't have anything against them, but you couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy. You never knew your parents, only knowing that they had given up on you at the age of three. From then on, the orphanage became your home, and Carina was your family. But, looking into her eyes, you saw how excited and determined she was, you knew she wanted this, needed this. "Then I am coming with you."
Now it was Carina's turn to raise her eyebrows, "Pardon?" She mimicked, as you square your shoulders, trying to look confident.
"I want to come with you. You're my best friend, Carina. And frankly, you are my family. So, I don't want to leave you. I am coming with you." You explained with your own determination, making Carina smile warmly.
"I am fine with that." She answered, making you smile. "I just want to warn you that pirates are a bit... Loud, obnoxious, and don’t smell lovely."
You only rolled your eyes, "You didn't when you returned either." You teased, making her nudge your arm. "Besides, besides going on adventures, what could possibly happen?"
~~~
The ship stood menacingly at the dock, its sails tied up, and its anchor lowered. On the way to the ship, after you packed a few of your things of course, Carina told you more about her adventure for the trident, about her father being a captain, and even the young man named Henry that she said made her stomach tie up in knots. She said it made her want to throw up, but you thought otherwise. It was pretty obvious that she may or may not like the man she spoke so much about, despite her saying how annoying and irritating he is.
Arm in arm, Carina led you up the wooden board connecting the ship to the large dock, and you couldn't help but feel an adrenaline rush engulf you as you stepped on board. Some of the crew gave you a glance before going off and doing whatever, and even so turned up their nose, muttering something about how women are bad luck on the ship. You simply turned to look at Carina, who just rolled her eyes, telling you how incorrect that myth or superstition was.
Looking around the large ship, your eyes landed on the top deck, where two men were at the wheel, but before you could get a real close look at them, your attention was drawn by the sound of Carina's name being called. You watched as a young man, whom you assumed to be Henry, rushed over to greet her. He gave her a smile, which matched perfectly with his boyish charm, while Carina only let out a deep sigh, turning to you.
"Y/N, this is Henry Turner." She introduced you to the young man who gave you a smile.
"Pleasure to meet you, miss Y/N." He spoke politely, and you gave him a smile.
Offering your hand out, Henry took it, skating it, which surprised you as most men would simply kiss your hand. Pirates were pleasantly different. "A pleasure to meet you as well, Carina talks a lot about you."
Henry's smile widened as he turned to look at Carina, who glared at the two of you, almost painfully nudging your ankle with her foot.
"You talk about me?" Henry then asked, his grin turning into a small smirk as Carina just rolled her eyes, unlocking her arm with yours to cross them over her chest defensively.
"No. I do speak of you, but only because you are such a pain in my backside." She answered, making you laugh slightly.
"You wound me, Carina." He then said, causing you to snort and shake your head.
Carina only looked away from him, "Sure, Mr. Turner." She answered before another voice broke into your little chatty bubble.
"Well, well, well," You turned to see another pirate, one with a hat over his head, a red bandana wrapped around his forehead, and colorful beads in his hair. "Are you Miss Smyth’s confidant?" He then asked and you gave him a nod, tilting your head. “Are you a witch too?”
"You must be Sparrow." You mentioned, ignoring his comments, and the man before you smiled.
"Aye, that's my name." He spoke before another pirate called his name and he was driven away, but not before giving you a small dramatic bow. “Do wear it out.” He called to you before leaving completely.
You turned to Carina and rolled your eyes as she smiled, unable to stop a small chuckle from escaping the both of you. He was exactly how she said he was. Irritating.
"Carina," A deep voice then called, making you turn your head towards the new sound.
Your eyes widened as you watched another pirate walk over. He was tall, with long, curly brown hair, and a short beard. He wore the prettiest blue uniform, embellished with gold, and white lace at the cuffs of the sleeves. If this was love, you were deep in it. The feelings you were already having for this man were incredible. Your eyes continued to gaze at his features, his eyes, nose, and lips. He was gorgeous and you could help but notice how fast your heart was beating, almost jumping out of your chest, and your face flushed slightly.
"Father," Carina greeted, smiling slightly, and the man looked at you briefly, before returning his attention back to Carina.
‘Father!? He was her father!? Oh, God,’ you thought you were going to pass out. ‘This couldn't be possible!’ You were in love with your best friend's father. You were completely and utterly screwed.
"This is my friend, Y/N." Carina's voice finally broke you out of your panic, introducing you to the man that has caused so many problems within seconds and without even saying a word to you.
A new rush of panic filled you as his blue eyes met yours, looking at you carefully and studying you for a moment. His eyes eventually trailed down your figure before landing back on your face, and you felt your cheeks heat up, looking away from his intense stare, glancing quickly at Carina before meeting his eyes once again. He gave you a slow smile, and you couldn't help but return it.
"Welcome aboard, lass." He finally said, before he then tipped his black and gold-trimmed hat and left to speak to Sparrow.
You let out a deep breath, feeling like you were again going to pass out from how long you were holding your breath unconsciously. Carina looked over at you, her brows furrowed as she tried to figure out what was wrong. She observes your cheeks, which were dusted a deeper shade. She then followed your gaze, which led right back to her father. And, lastly, she watched as you fidgeted with your hands, your fingers twisting and turning anxiously, albeit nervously. Her eyes then widened as the realization set in, looking up at you with her wide eyes.
"Y/N..." She began, her voice soft, and very slow as he swallowed thickly. "No..." She muttered in disbelief as you nodded your head slowly.
"Yes..." You answered back softly, reluctantly snapping your gaze away from her father. "I'm deathly afraid so."
This unspoken confession made Carina look down, biting the corner of her lip as she stared down at her feet, and the two of you stayed in silence until a strong wind picked up, making you shiver.
"Come on," Carina mumbled quietly, taking your hands. "Let's go find some food." She suggested, causing you to nod your head. You followed her silently, your hands clasped neatly in front of your skirt, your mind racing as you kept your eyes on the hardwood boards of the vast ship. In what seemed to be a kitchen of some sort, Carina looked around and found some bread, handing you a small loaf before the two of you sat on two big barrels. You both silently munched on your snack, you slower than her as your mind continued to race. And, to be honest, hers was too. "Are you sure?" She spoke up in a hushed voice, just in case anyone should hear.
"Yes." You simply said, "I- I think I'm in love." You shakily whispered out, your eyes widening at the sound of the confession; tears began to well up, burning your eyes. "I'm I going crazy? This... This is crazy, right?" You turned to look at her, "I shouldn't feel this way, especially since he's your father." You explained through hiccups and sniffles.
As you cried, Carina put her bread aside as she moved closer to you, pulling you in, enveloping you in her arms, and letting you cry freely as she rubbed your back, trying to comfort you. "Yes, this is a bit… Odd." She began, not truly knowing what to say. "But, you can't help who you fall in love with." She finished, and you looked up at her, pulling away.
"Like you and Henry?" You asked, and Carina stared at you before letting out a sigh and nodding.
"Yes, I suppose." She glanced away before giving you a firm glare, "Don't say a word to him." She threatened, making your quirk a smile.
"I will not." You let out a small laugh, as the two of you fell into another silence as you brushed away your tears. The next few minutes went by in comfortable quietness. But, the silence didn't last long as you spoke up once more. "What should I do?" You asked her.
Carina sucked in a breath, staring down at the bread in her hands before she turned to you and gave you a small smile, "I think you should embrace it. I know he might seem intimidating. But he really isn't. I-"
"Are you insinuating that I should go ahead with this?" You asked, bewildered as Carina gave you a shrug.
"Yes." She answered, and just as she began to open her mouth again, you interrupted her a second time.
"Carina, he's older than me, and he's your father, I- It would feel incredibly awkward-"
Carina raises her hand, quickly silencing you, "Y/N, it is true. He is older and he is my father," She agreed before continuing, "But, you are also my best friend. If you want to, take the chance. I want you to be happy."
You felt your worry dwindle slightly as you let out a small sigh, giving Carina a small, thankful smile. "Thank you, Carina."
Carina mimicked your smile, placing a hand on your shoulder, "Of course," She went back to her bread, taking a small bite "Besides," She muttered, her mouth full of food, "You'd be a fabulous stepmother."
With that, you let out a gasp, feeling your cheeks burn as you nudged Carina, making her laugh.
"Shut up!" You whined, and she laughed even harder, earning yourself another light shove from you before you returned to eating your food.
"Do you really like him?" Carina then asked abruptly, and you paused, swallowing.
"Yes," You spoke up, a small smile growing upon your lips, "I think he's very handsome, and I see the way he cares about you. Even though I've only met and spoken to him once, I can truly see how caring and understanding he is." You told her, and Carina nodded, satisfied.
"He'll be good to you." She stated confidently.
You smiled softly before shaking your head. "You say that as if he feels the same." You laughed and Acrina just shrugged.
~~~
Barbossa stood at the ship's wooden railing, his hands pressed firmly against it as he looked at the sea below him, watching the waves crash and roll, the sky dark above him. It was late, a few hours had passed since the crew and others had gone to the sleeping chambers, and yet, Barbossa was awake. Why was he awake? He couldn't stop thinking about you. His daughter's friend had decided to come along on another adventure for some other forgotten or lost treasure. He didn't mind it, no. He was rather interested in you actually. You intrigued him greatly. He hadn't felt this way in a very long time.
Hearing footsteps, the man turned only to find his daughter. She wandered over as he turned back to the sea. She mimicked his posture, her own hands landing on the railing in front of her, standing beside him. The soft and sweet silence was broken when she spoke, her voice, much like the waves, crashing and roaring onto the shore. "Is something bothering you?" Her gentle tone filled the air between the two of them, and he closed his eyes for a brief moment.
"Aye," He answered and Carina pursed her lips before speaking again.
"I need to speak to you," She spoke, and Barbossa turned his head to look down at her, "It's quite important." Barbossa didn't say a word, waiting for her to continue. "My friend, Y/N... She has developed... Feelings for you." She confessed, making her father's eyes widen comically so.
He blinked twice. Feelings? Immediately, Barbossa felt self-conscious. Why would a beautiful young woman like you, have feelings for him? He was old, run-down, and a pirate no less. Hell, even Sparrow was closer to your age. He felt a bit odd, shifting his weight from one foot to another as he bit his tongue. A part of him wanted to deny her words and suspect her of just idle teasing. But, her expression said otherwise. There was no smile, nor a mischievous glint in her eyes. She was telling the truth.
He let out a sigh, "What do you want me to do about it?" He asked her, his tone low.
She shook her head lightly, "I am not sure. I don't want you to feel uncomfortable. I just thought it best if I let you know. So, if by any chance you speak with her and she shies away, you know that she is not scared of you, but infatuated."
It was silent once more, and Carina could feel the tension as it slowly seeped through her body and into her bones. After a while of the two of them awkwardly staying silent, she cleared her throat to break it, "I'll, uh, I'll leave you alone." She went to leave, but her father's voice stopped her.
"I haven't felt this way since your mother." He softly confessed, making Carina's eyes widen slightly as she turned back around. Barbossa stared at the dark waters below him, "That first day I met your mother, I knew. Knew instantly. But..." He trailed off, shaking his head slightly.
"Do you like her?" Carina asked her father as the man pursed his lips. She could tell that he did. That wasn't the answer she wanted to hear, however. Not now, anyway.
"No," He finally admitted, looking at the girl beside him. "I do." His voice softened, a hint of pain in his eyes as he gazed upon her.
"You should tell her..." She spoke softly as Barbossa nodded, more firmly as his eyes narrowed slightly.
"Aye, I shall." He responded as they both faced forward once more, the two of them silent once again, until the ship rocked, indicating they were nearing their destination.
~~~
The next morning, after the two of you woke up, you headed up to the man deck, trying to not get pushed around as multiple pirates did their chores around the ship. Once you found Carina and Henry, you walked over and stood beside your friend. The three of you watched the other pirates and crew do their thing before you spoke up. You smiled, "Henry, Carina." You called to them, getting their attention. They looked over to you, Henry raising an eyebrow.
"Good morning, Y/N." Carina gave you a smile, "Have you seen my father?" She asked, and you raised an eyebrow.
You frowned, tilting your head to the side, "No?" You felt an odd feeling creeping up inside of you, but you ignored it, "Why?"
"Oh, no reason." Your friend spoke, making your frown deepen before the two of them glanced behind you, both giving you a smile and leaving; Henry giving you a thumbs up. You stared at them confused, before you dropped your shoulders.
"Morning, lass." You tensed slightly, knowing the person behind the voice, "I hope you slept well."
You turned around, the breath in your lungs leaving you as you stared at the man before you, whom you've come to know not only as your best friend's father but as Barbossa from his crew. "Yes," You spoke up, trying not to stare at him for too long, "I slept fine." You glanced from the ground up at the older man, seeing how seemingly nervous he looked, glancing away from you briefly; he knew something. "Carina told you, didn't she?" You asked him with a sigh, and Barbossa merely stared at you before nodding. "I'm never trusting her again." You added, and he sighed heavily before answering.
"Aye," He admitted, glancing down at you.
"I apologize," You let out a sigh, running a hand through your hair, "I, uh, I didn't know that she was going to tell you."
Barbossa chuckled, shaking his head, "Don't fret, lass. She just wants what's best for you," He took a step closer to you, smiling slightly.
You shook your head, "I do not want you to think that you have to be kind to me just because my feelings have been revealed. I know it's oddly unorthodox. To put it plainly, I do not wish you to think of me as strange. I just-" Your sentence died in your throat.
"Y/N?" Barbossa interrupted your rambling, making you snap out of your thoughts and raise your gaze from the floor and up at him. "Are you alright?" He questioned, and you swallowed hard before nodding.
"Yes, sorry." You mumbled, looking away again.
Barbossa sighed lightly. "Look, lass" He began, "I am an old man... And I have no doubt that you are a brilliant young woman." He added, making you look at him again, surprise written all over your face as you heard him. "But you should be with someone your own age. Someone who is not old enough to be your own father."
You looked away from him, crossing your arms, "But you're not. You're not my father. And it does not matter to me how old you are, I still find you rather dashing." You blurted out, shocking yourself.
At your confession, Barbossa's eyes widened. No one has ever called him dashing before, it makes his heart flutter slightly. He didn't really know why though. All he knows is that you complimented him and made him happy. This made him grin as he placed a hand over his chest.
"Well," He began, "Thank you, lass."
Your cheeks flushed a little at the praise. "Of course." You replied shyly, averting your gaze from his and towards the ocean instead. Your eyes wandered to the horizon. "It's beautiful here." You commented, looking to where the blue sky stretched above you. It looked so peaceful.
Barbossa remained silent for a couple of moments before speaking, his deep voice filling the quiet air. "Aye. Yes, it is." He agreed, glancing over at you.
"I've never been on a ship before. I have never thought I'd ever be on one in my lifetime. But..." You glanced over at him, noticing that he was already looking at you with his ocean eyes. "I can see why you and other pirates love it. It's very... Freeing." You finished, your voice trailing off and soft.
Barbossa couldn't help but smile a little, "Aye." He muttered, returning his gaze to the sea as well. He stood there for a few moments longer before taking in a deep breath, letting the sea air fill his lungs. For some reason, he felt at peace with you by his side. With you being there, he felt relaxed. More than comfortable. Like he could breathe again.
"Well,' You began, looking up at Barbossa with a new sense of purpose, "I'll leave you to your sea. I have to find Carina and tell her off. I'll, uh, hope to see you later, Barbossa." You then turned to leave, but not before a hand encased yours, stopping you. Looking down at his hand holding yours, you quickly looked up at the man.
He continued to stare at the ocean, before turning his soft gaze to you, "Call me Hector." He told you with a small smile. It made you give him a soft smile in return.
You bit your bottom lip and nodded your head in agreement. "Alright.., Hector." You spoke quietly, releasing his hand and making your way over to the stairs leading to the lower decks to find Carina. You had to thank her.
