You’ve heard him shut others down before, made it clear it was off-limits. Whether or not you ever wondered why never really crossed his mind. It could be that you’re just understanding. You’re always patient with him, always respectful. It wouldn’t surprise him, though, if you already knew.

It’s in the way you glance at him whenever someone else says it, some stranger who doesn’t know better. The way your eyes flick to his, gauging his reaction, but you never ask. Never push. Never assume you have the right. It’s like you already get it — that to him, Sammy is a chubby twelve year old with too big eyes and an even bigger heart, a kid who still believed in things before the world beat it out of him. Sammy is powerless. Sammy is soft. And Sam has spent his whole damn life trying to be anything but.

Dean gets away with it — most of the time. Some days, it doesn’t sting as much. Other days, it makes his skin crawl. But you? You never try. Never tested the boundaries of what he’ll allow, like it’s some kind of game. You call him Sam. Just Sam. Nothing more, nothing less.

However, that doesn’t matter right now because you’re crying. Because you’re hurting so much that it’s spilling out of you, raw and unfiltered, past your lips in desperation. And Sam knows — knows you’d never call him that on purpose, never say it just to get under his skin. You know how much it bothers him. But right now? He can’t bring himself to care. Because how could he, when your voice is shaking, when your hands are trembling, when whatever pain you’re carrying is heavy enough to make you forget something so simple? He wouldn’t be mad at you — not really. He actually doesn’t think he could ever be mad at you. Especially not when you’re looking at him like that, like you need him to be steady, to be something solid when everything else feels like it’s slipping away.  So he swallows whatever flicker of irritation tries to rise in his chest and focuses on what actually matters. You. 

You, who’s crying. You're crying and you won’t stop. It’s the kind of crying that shakes your whole body, that makes your breaths come out in sharp, broken gasps. And Sam doesn’t know what to do. He hasn’t ever seen you cry like this before. Maybe a quiet sniffle, or a small tear you’d quickly wipe away when you thought no one was looking — but never this.

He hadn’t expected this when he came back to the motel room. Dean had dropped him off before heading out to the bar down the street. It's the usual thing he does to celebrate another successful case. While Sam would’ve loved to join, he really didn’t. You were here and Sam could never stay away from you for too long. All Sam wanted to do was be with you and go to bed. 

But he hears it the minute he walks up to the door. It's muffled through the walls and the wood, but he can hear it clear enough. The sounds of heartbreaking cries and Sam grows frantic.  He’s quick to get the key in the door to unlock it. And no sooner does he do so, as he pushes it open, he finds you. He finds you sitting on one of the beds — at this point he isn’t sure which one it is and he doesn’t think you do either. Neither of you actually care, because that isn’t the concern. 

The sight before him is, and it breaks his heart. But he rushes in; fast and swift. The door shuts behind him with a clunk, and he sees you jolt. And all Sam can think to do is gather you up in his arms.  Because Sam isn’t some heartless freak that would close the door and walk away. His brain is too frazzled to think about anything else. He needs to hold you. He needs to calm you down. The tears streaming down your face tell him that you've been crying for hours. And just a little, it makes him sick, thinking that you’ve been upset for that long. 

Your fingers curl into the fabric of his shirt, your face buried in his shoulder like you’re trying to disappear into him. And all Sam can do is hold you. His arms wrapping around you so carefully, so gently, as if he’s afraid you’ll break apart completely if he isn’t careful — like you're fragile. 

“Shh, it’s okay, sweetheart,” he whispers softly. “I'm here.” He soothes as he holds you. “Just breathe f’me, okay?” His voice is steady, even if everything else isn’t. You’re wrapped up in him, as your body trembles. It's not just from your crying. No, it’s one of those involuntary shudders. He cradles the back of your head with his hand, helping you press yourself further into him. It’s almost as if he's shielding you as you hide away from everything. And while Sam might not know what that everything is, he’ll find it and make sure it never bothers you again. 

And that’s when he hears it. It’s muffled against the fabric of his flannel, and just low enough that he would’ve missed it. But he can’t. Because you’ve kept repeating his name through your broken sobs. It’s rapid before it slows. You say his name like you're trying to convince him of some urgency without having to say anything else. And then he realizes that you aren’t just saying his name by the time you start teetering on the edge of calming down. You hiccup and sniffle, and he can feel the heat of your tears against his neck.

The world around him seemed to fade and the sound of the highway outside dulled to nothing. He freezes for a brief moment, his breath hitched as those syllables hit his ears. So soft but shattered — fragile and so, so heavy. It was gut wrenching, and the way you had said it was different. It was different then he’d ever heard it before. Dean said it with familiarity, obviously — sometimes teasing, sometimes sharp, sometimes warm, sometimes just to mess with him. But you? It wasn’t just his name anymore. It was everything you had been feeling. All the hurt and exhaustion and desperation bundled into those two syllables — and he feels that flicker of irritation in his chest shift.

That irritation changes into something intense and unhinged. It burns in his lungs and coils around his heart. He felt cheated, robbed of something precious — because he had always wondered how it would have sounded had it ever left your mouth. Because he trusts you so much that he’d imagine it plenty of times. He imagined it sultry and light, full of love and care. The way you’d look at him like he hung the moon and stars. He pictured the way your lips would curve around the syllables, how the name would dance from your tongue and into his ears. And even if Sam thinks he doesn’t deserve it, amongst all the things that haunt and plague his mind; he thinks that maybe, just maybe, if he had ever heard it like that, it would’ve healed something in him.

But now, in contrast to everything else, the name began to taste like salt and sorrow. 

You don’t really say anything else after that and it's clear that you don’t really know what to do next either. All you do is try and sink deeper into him, and Sam lets you. He’s patient as your breathing slowly begins to even out as he lets his warmth encase you. Your head lays so lazily against his shoulder, as does your body against his — so defeated, so worn out. And Sam feels just a bit guilty the moment he pulls away and your face is forced to emerge. 

He watches as your lip trembles as you take deep breaths. And a soft, small whimper nearly escapes your throat before he's pressing sweet kisses into your skin. It doesn’t matter where they land, whether it’s your cheek or your nose, he’s peppering you with enough kisses before you could even think about working yourself up again.

“Hey hey hey,” he coos and frowns slightly at your tear stricken face.  “It’s okay, honey. I got you.” 

He studies your face as you look at him, your cheek squishing and settling into his cupped hand. You just look so tired. He moves to smooth the hair away from your face and comes to the decision that he can’t just leave you like this. To leave you with dry tear tracks along your face and to wake up feeling miserable. No, he can’t have that. As gentle and loving as Sam can, he presses a kiss to your forehead and gingerly uses his thumbs to wipe the remaining tears from your cheeks. 

He’ll suggest ever so lightly to get you cleaned up. He murmurs it ever so tender, afraid of uttering any words too loud. And you don’t argue. You don’t wave him off — you don’t have the strength to. Instead you nod weakly and follow his lead as he sits you up. He moves fast, grabbing a washcloth that isn’t too far away in the bathroom and dampens it before dabbing at your cheeks. In fact, he wipes down your whole face so that there isn’t even a trace of your cries left. He moves more of your hair out of your face, the small strands of hair that were either dampened from your tears or the cloth, he isn’t sure. 

But his hands are steady. Sam is pretty sure that his hands have never been this steady in all his life. They’re precise and patient, soft in a way that is only reserved for you. And when you look up at him — with a small sad thankful smile and red rimmed eyes — he’ll just smile back reassuringly, pressing yet another kiss to your temple.  

He’ll ask if it's all better, and you’ll nod. You do seem much better now — calmer, more still — which Sam is glad for. And soon enough, the two of you are tucked tight beneath his covers, the warmth settling over you like a heavy, quiet comfort. You latch onto him immediately, burying your face as deep as you can into his chest, like you’re trying to disappear into the space between his ribs. Your grip on him, however, is no longer desperate but something softer, something lingering. His arms settle around you instinctively, holding you close. The slow, steady rise and fall of his breathing seems to lull you, your body finally relaxing against his. It’s peaceful. Almost perfect.

Though, a small ‘..ank you, ..ammy’ is murmured. The words drowsy, barely forming — melting into the warmth of him as sleep drags you under.

Sam tenses for half a second and his chest tightens briefly. But in the next moment, he isn’t paying it any mind. He doesn’t need to dwell on it. Instead, he just holds you tighter; pressing his lips to the crown of your head, lets himself sink into the warmth of you beside him, and exhales.

He wonders if you’ll remember in the morning — if you’ll realize what you said, if you’ll apologize for it, or if you won’t even think twice. He thinks about if you’ll say it again. Because, yeah, he feels extremely robbed. The thought gnaws at him. It's like it's been tainted with something new and he’s almost eager for it to not be. And maybe it won’t be tomorrow, maybe not even next week, but eventually. Because somewhere, deep in that big, smart, dummy brain he has, he knows that you will say it again. And when you do, it’ll be soft, bright, and full of something that only he could wish for. 

He can already hear it. He can already imagine the way his nickname will sound when it’s spoken by you not through exhaustion or desperation, but through delight. And it’s already music to his ears. Because maybe — just maybe — being called Sammy wouldn’t be so bad. Especially if it’s coming from you.

“it’s hard to say who fell first—“ it was jiyong. you’d been hanging out together during your first time in seoul. you two talked about music, art, the industry, and every conversation jiyong found himself more and more fascinated. the way you shared so many of the same views as he did, the way you carried yourself so beautifully and confidently, the way you truly listened and hung onto every word he said. it all intrigued him, and by the end of your visit in seoul jiyong knew he was crushing and crushing hard.

you two didn’t get together right away, tho. no you two stayed good friends for a solid 2-3 months before any romance even started. and neither of you really know who initiated it. seemingly both? you two were at a dinner together as you were visiting seoul again (claiming to be working, but your truly wanted to see him). you both kept staring at each other. the tension was thick. you didn’t even know who kissed who first. one minute, you’re staring at each other like the rest of the restaurant wasn’t there, and the next you two were kissing softly under the dim lights.

taeyang is the first person who finds out about your relationship. not on purpose either. it was like he manifested it. he’d discovered your music and was listening to it. you two ended up having mutual friends, and you were visiting seoul for ‘vacation’, so you two had ended up meeting. you loved him and hyo-rin. but you struggled acting like you had no idea who they were. acting like you weren’t dating his group member. taeyang mentions his group to you, how he should introduce you to daesung and jiyong, how you’d love them. you try not to freak out.

how he found out is fairly simple (but he found it to be hilarious). he was heading to jiyongs home to hang out, something that they’d planned weeks before (it was hard with their schedules), but jiyong had completely forgotten about it. taeyang walked in, only to find you standing in the kitchen wearing jiyongs pajamas and drinking a glass of water. the two of you stared at each other for a moment, eyes wide and completely silent. then, taeyang bursts out laughing. the sound causes jiyong to come out from wherever he’d been, his face dropping in realization. “this makes so much sense!” taeyang exclaims. “i was wondering why you were traveling so much.” he points at jiyong, and then he looks at you. “and you! you kept telling me you were here for work! hyo-rin called it! we knew you were dating someone! we just didn’t know it was each other!”

you and daesung are jiyongs worst nightmare. the way you two become instant chaotic besties. at first, jiyong is even a little jealous. the two of you became friends so easily and so quickly it gave him whiplash. he gets over it pretty easily (after all, you are absolutely obsessed with your man & remind him of that), but he still partially regrets introducing you to daesung because you two are now both menaces in his life and constantly give the other new ideas.

jiyong loves visiting you in america. sure he’s famous over there, obviously, but it didn’t feel as intense as it did at home. plus, you had mastered the skills of avoiding the paparazzi. the two of you always going on trips to more rural areas to spend time together without anyone noticing you

he loves spoiling you. sure, he knows you have plenty of your own money. but he can’t help himself! when he sees a cute jacket that he knows would look good on you, he can’t help it but snatch it for you.

but its a mutual exchange. you can’t help but grab him gifts too. whether it’s fun scarves, or a one-of-a-kind sweater, you’re always getting him things. you never tell him, either. you tell a person on his team that he’ll be receiving a gift from you in the mail, and they keep it a secret until he’s opening the package. both of you complain about the other getting you things, but neither of you stop either

the first time a dating rumor spiked about you, the two of you were constantly waiting to see who. you were hardly seen in public anyways, so who in the world could they be conspiring you were with? when it turned out to be a famous musician who had recently asked you to feature on their album, jiyong felt both slightly jealous and relieved. relieved because he didn’t want you facing the wrath of knetizens & the media for dating him, but slightly jealous because he wasn’t blind to the comments shipping you and the other musician. talking about how cute you two were, how he was so talented, your babies would be cute, the couple made so much sense blah blah blah. dare i say he was a little bit of a pouty baby about it, which you teased him for relentlessly

you had your own jealousy moments! the two of you were at a chanel event, neither of you interacting or acknowledging each other at all as it was very early in your secret relationship. you couldn’t help but overhear as a woman asked jiyong if he was single. of course, he said yes. that part didn’t bother you. what bothered you was the way the woman’s face lit up as she continued to talk to him. jiyong, on the other hand, was completely unaware. he was usually attentive and noticed things like that, but in this particular moment he was far too aware of you to think about the woman’s advances. when he did eventually catch on, he kindly shut her down and excused himself. he didn’t miss the way you glared at her. and he certainly commented on it when you got back to your hotel room. “were you jealous, baby?” he’d say with some smirk that makes your entire body blush. “it’s a good look on you, but you know i’m in love with you.”

you offered to dye his hair, and the first few times he said no. when he started dying it around the time of the comeback, you were begging at that point. he lets you dye it mint<3 and you did a damn good job too

he joins you on tour & it’s definitely different for him. it’s not often he’s at a concert where he’s not one of the main focuses. but he does love it, watching you in your element. it helps when the crew doesn’t know who he is, and just knows he’s with you somehow. watching you get ready, watching you warm up, helping you with your hair and your wardrobe, he loves it all. what he loves most is watching you perform. sometimes he was backstage, but other times he’d find a spot in the VIP section and watch with the rest of the crowd. he thinks that might be when you’re most beautiful, doing things you love most.

She was appealing, like a picture perfect person, so on a whim you decided to show interest.

Wasn’t helping you focus much, but god you swear you were in fem heaven right now. Basically your thoughts the entire day.

Once ahain clarification cards aren't of any help🥲 after long, long, long shuffling i finally got a card which gives me groups & peers vibe so maybe he tried something with a person from his circles and it wasn't good at all so now he's confused as to if he should remain open to idols or not. That being said, my guess is that for now he's keeping it low and kind of in the middle. Maybe not dating complete commoners, but also not celebs, maybe he's oriented himself towards influencers or something of that sort.

Han: Def commoners. He needs to be the star, to be admired, to get lots of attention and having many hypemans. Among other celebs he would be just one among many, but among commoners he's a star. And he lives that. So his choice in partners also def reflects that.

Felix: he likes a good variety. A bit of everything. So i think he may not habe a solid preference but rather be in the mood for this today, and net week in the mood for the other. Yk. For now his new "mood" is wise people. I think he's really into that - people who see through others shit, who cant be fooled easily, who can teach him a lot and have a "godly aura".

Seungmin: he likes celebs, well mannared and pretty. Also may not necessarily be entertainment celebs like idols. Could be actors, ceos, owners of something, just affluent people with status, means, manners and just overall are a "good, valueable contribution to society".

yes i can <333 sorry this is long and it kind of takes a while to get to the point i hope you like it anyway 😭

- as long as you've known patrick he's been known as a "playboy", previous room mates attesting to the fact that a new girl was leaving his room every night. patrick didn't know what he was looking for, there were no common links between his flings and he didn't care, he would buy them a drink and nod at their stories before he invited them back to his room, sending them on their way once he got what he wanted.

- you met patrick through a mutual friend in college, you didn't see too much of him because he was always late to class or never even showed up. of course, his grades started to slip and his parents noticed, immediately looking for a tutor for him and settling on you, since you were "friends". as it turns out it's pretty hard to contact someone who doesn't even have contact names for people, just " brunette from bar" and "chick from biology". you finally got a hold of him and told him the arrangement, he didn't like it (to be expected) but his parents threatened to not support his dreams of becoming a tennis star if he didn't get good grades, so he settled.

- outside of his frequent escapades, patrick was a nice person, he actually did listen and ask questions the whole time you were explaining problems to him. once he actually get to know you a little bit (simple things like how you always complain about being thirsty but never bring a drink, or only use pens and never pencils, not caring if it's more trouble when you make a mistake), he respects you and your time more and doesn't skip lessons as much and actually does his homework.

- once you become friends on a bit of a deeper level, not just tutor and student, he talks to you about tennis, eventually inviting you to come watch him play. usually he's playing doubles with art, but you personally prefer the days when he's playing solo, you really get to focus on his talent and passion for the game that way. and patrick comes to look forward to seeing you in the stands at his games, art makes fun of him and pushes his shoulder whenever patrick gets distracted. he notices a weird feeling in his stomach when he does find a moment to look at you, smiling at how you're biting your nails and leaning forward on your seat.

- that night, patrick invites you to come to his victory party, he reasons that you helped him archive this victory by bringing peace to his academic life so of course you should come. you spend the night sipping on a drink in the corner of the room, given you only knew patrick and art, who were surrounded by admiring friends and family. just when you were picking up your coat and keys to leave, patrick was able to escape his fans and come over to you, his brows furrowing as he sees you're about to leave. "what do you think you're doing?" he asks, "you haven't even said hi tonight", if you were looking closer it would almost seem like he's pouting. you explains that you're tired, you don't really know anyone and honestly you'd rather just be in bed. "well lemme walk you to your car then yeah?", he helps you to put your coat on, ushering you out the door into the quiet street, ignoring your argument that it's really not necessary, fighting back with "a pretty girl like you shouldn't be walking alone late at night" and that shuts you up as you walk next to patrick, neither of you saying anything. it's a comfortable silence though, and you think back on your time with patrick and realize you've never really felt uncomfortable with him.

- once you get to your car safely you lean against your car to continue talking to him, thanking him thoroughly for walking you to your car, even though he had to leave his own party. maybe it was the glasses of champagne you had at the party or the way his skin glowed in the moonlight but you leaned in and kissed his cheek as an act of thanks. as you opened your car door to leave patrick did something he's never done to a girl, he made the first move, cupping your face in his hands and kissing you. he didn't know what it meant for your relationship but he didn't care in the moment, all he knew was how soft your lips felt against his. when he pulled away it was clear you were both quite awkward, so he gets you into your car and told you he'd text you the next day. and another first, he actually did text you the next day.

- from then on your relationship blossomed, for how experienced patrick was, he wasn't experienced in the more romantic aspects of a relationship, but just like you taught him chemical symbols and equations, you taught him how to have an actual healthy relationship. but still, patrick feels like he should know all these things already, you shouldn't have to ask for flowers or ask to go on a romantic date, you should be with someone who knows how to treat you right. about 4 months into your relationship he couldn't stop himself from thinking this way, knocking on your door right after practice and praying you'd answer. when you do, he makes you sit down on your bed and explains the whole ordeal, ending it with "you deserve someone better than me, that can treat you better.. we have to break up". you're immediately confused, the reason that he wants to break up is so stupid you feel like you need to slap him. you don't, of course but you certainly give him a firm talking to, reminding him of all the things you love about him and he feels like crying, his head falling into your lap as he holds your hand. he'd never imagined being in a relationship like this, and he promises to make you feel as lucky as you make him feel everyday <33

Do you want this man to be even more clingy than he already is if it’s even possible? Goal achieved, really. Seeing you wear something even as simple as his coat just because he left it somewhere in the apartment will absolutely melt this man’s heart like others here, to be honest, but he will for sure be the most open about it. Talking about how:

“OH I’M IN HEAVEN” “I HAVE SEEN AN ANGEL ON EARTH” “I can truly die peacefully now ‘bella”

and much more while holding onto your waist while on his knees the whole time just because of a single piece of his clothing on you.

Unlike what most people in the PM think, Chuuya does not have his hat on 24/7, you, in fact, see him without it most of the time when in the house.

That fact made it easy for you to get his hat when he’s somewhere else in the house… or at least when you think so.

Listen, this man, this man, thoughts gone, just a dorky smile on his face. The moment he sees you looking at yourself in the mirror, thoughts gone just ‘what is this feeling?’ in his head for a moment. Chuuya ADORES seeing you in anything he owns, or the clothes he got you because there’s no way you’re dating him and don’t get gifted some clothes besides other things.

You found his hat in his bedroom while he was in the bathroom, you really meant to have just a quick look in the mirror to see how would you look in it, but you certainly did not realize that someone was behind you, leaning against the doorframe, just admiring your pretty figure.

You don’t realize he's standing there until you turn around, or he knocks on the doorframe to get your attention, either way, you will be embarrassed. Like hello he was not meant to see you in it, he wasn't meant to know you even wanted to try anything of his on, and yet here you are.

Until he decided he wants to see you in the set, after that realization, he simply left it on a chair in his room and left, giving you the perfect opportunity, well that’s what he wanted you to think, he didn't think it would backfire tho.

When he came into the room after you started looking in the mirror, my man simply FROZE. Like yea, he knew what you're gonna do, but actually seeing it? Ranpo.exe stopped working - for a solid minute.

After Ranpo starts working again, you can bet he’s not letting you take that off for some time, he probably asks you to wear it more often, around people and everything. He just wants to see you in that set because you look so adorable in that in his eyes<3

Would she go for more comfort or style? Does she have any preferences or would she try to follow middle school fashion trends to fit in?

I love this ask! oh man, it makes me want to draw Kotori in a bunch of different outfits...

I think at first she would typically go for things smiliar to what she wore in the Never Realm. oversized sweaters, leggings, winter boots... She runs a little cold so she would wear all that stuff year round. she would favor simple patterns or solid color stuff.

i don't think she'd try to dress in a certain way to fit in. shes not quite as lost when it comes to her identity like other middle schoolers. she's been alive for 50 years after all- she's got a pretty good handle on herself. i think if anyone did try and bully her for her style or anything else she'd be like "...why would i care about what you think?" and keep it pushing.

i do think over time she'd start to branch out and really enjoy more fun outfits. checker print and graphic tees and colorblock type of stuff. she's wear more jeans and sneakers and move away from athleisure altogether. no more leggings really.

I love this question so so much! :D Thank you for it (and for including Lulu too! <33), so let's go~

Ven honestly has two rules for how ne dresses:

1) Must have orange, even just a pop~ <3 2) Absolutely No Red*, Ever!（￣^￣）凸!

And everything else is fair game, lol. During nir Sidestep days, Ven's style was more subdued due to the lack of funds. Ven tended to pick out pieces ne liked a lot and very comfortable and baggy to wear (gotta fit the Sidestep suit under them soooo) and matched with the rest of nir wardrobe. Lots of hoodies (gifted and bought), lots of band tees (annoying to find ones without red, oh god), some jeans (more straight-legged and 90s baggy) and a solid pair of boots or chunky skater shoes.

Another thing was due to Ven's limited funds, the few extra dollars ne had went towards things Ven deeply enjoyed like music. Ne had so many records and cassettes and a chunky pair of near-indestructible headphones for nir prized all-in-one midi system. Fashion was nice and fun to play with in theory, but it wasn't super important to Ven.

And then, the outsider scar hit hard and Ven lost that connection to damn near everything ne dearly loved. So, what do you do when you suddenly have an inconceivable amount of wealth and all your former interests taste like cardboard? Invest in the one thing that still pops some joy in your bitter little heart: cute clothes! ♡(˶╹̆ ▿╹̆˵)و✧♡

Ven's wardrobe post-heartbreak is damn near absurd in just how much ne has. Anything that catches nir eye is brought and then dumped on the floor of Ven's bedroom (ADHD, closets and dressers are useless). The two golden rules still apply, so a good chunk of Ven's clothes tend to be very orange or at least in the warm shades. Ne enjoys more grungey and punky styles over all, loves different prints and designs, and tends to alter most of shit that ends up in nir commonly worn pile with rips and bleach and pins and studs. Just to try to make them really nir own~ Ven also loves putting five little rats secretly hiding in a lot of nir clothes, lol.

And Ven does have fun playing with fashion, especially given ne has so so many options at hand and enjoys making nir own DIY jewelry too. It's a pale joy in comparison to how ne loved music, but ne will take it if that's all ne can get.

Ven's villain career doesn't affect nir wardrobe, at least not as someone might assume? Ven uses nir telepathy to make a lot of weird glitchy illusions around nem as Ichor, and it's pretty bullshit neon colorful. When Ven's sees glitchy bullshit neon colors in clothes too, it's an automatic MUST HAVE to nem (Ven owns a few Ichor pieces, because they cool). But it's more Ven just likes that aesthetic a lot, and has liked when ne fought the Void. Ichor is like vaguely Void-inspired, so it's not surprising that main aesthetic ne picked up after drinking a lot of Void blood bled into nir Villainsona. ^^;;

Lulu on the other hand can be summed up with a simple phrase: don't fix what ain't broke.

Lulu's style has barely changed between their Sidestep days and now, lol. They enjoyed their hoodies and worn, second hand clothes in dull muted colors that were easy to move and fight in back then, and that hasn't changed. They did change up their hair color (due to the Puppet's influences), but going from gray to light blue-grey isn't even much a jump. :')

And I'm sure once Lulu figures out their gender better and comes out as trans, their style isn't going to change either. Lulu really got it in one and just likes their hoodies and worn clothes too much. After all, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Might get some more blues and blue-grey pieces tho. Lulu does like the color a bit… 🤔

Likewise, Lulu’s villainsona doesn’t really affect their wardrobe, but it does give them all the Gender Envy. Lulu would love to be a terrifying thing with pinchy pinchers and spikes and carapace shell~ It’s The Dream~~ Hence it being Lulu’s armor. If they’re investing that money, it’s gonna be what they always wanted to be. ❤️🥰❤️

*Ven will make exceptions for red-orangeys and might stretch that definition pretty far, lol, but that's it. It's the only vaguely acceptable shade of red (but more so because Ven loves orange that much).

The Genos style analysis i was talking about (only it's just an amateur's rumbling)

I just love clothes and fashion and rumbling about them, just like everyone i know, and it can keep me up to unholy hours of the morning lol, anyways, Genos is one of my fave opm characters, i just love his design, his personality and ofc his fights! He's one of the characters that changes his style often in the series and i find that really interesting, we gushed over it a bit earlier but i wanted to make a more detailed analysis over it. (i say that, but don't expect much from me, i'm not some proessional fashion designer or stylist, i just love clothes)

Season 1:

Earlier Genos style, he wears jeans/plain trousers, simple sleeveless shirts showcasing his cool intricate high-tech arms, he wears knee length boots in his first outfit and sneakers on the others. For accessories, he does like to wear different types of belts and he has earrings on (both earrings and shirts are practical, I assume his whole outfit is supposed to be light for his fighting, also as it was pointed out in the comments, he does destroy his clothes a lot so he probably need a change often). His hair is styled down, it's disheveled in a stylish way.

don't get me wrong, he looks good but it's pretty basic and doesn't say my about his tastes as you may say.

Now starts season two: (that's when i started the manga and started to notice his style, i didn't give it much attention before)

immidiately we can see a little style improvement with the addition of accesories like a jacket i'm sure he doesn't need for anything else than to look cool, and that such a nice fit on the lower pics, i love the turtle neck and truck pants tucked in those stylish boots (especially coupled with those new part.)

(the first pic seems to be his default outfit at home, nice armor tho), the second pic is so nice? like the baggy pants and big ass belt, also the insane armsi love that, not to mention we got a new haircut;

it saddly only lasted for one arc,

We se variations of that outfit throughout the arc, for me it's the arms, how can Murata manage to draw such amazing designs?

Monster association arc:

right off the bat, it starts pretty strong. i mean look at that hoodie, i want it! but if this was good then wait for it...

This look is gorgeous!!!! look at that jacket and pants and more importantly his centipede gear!! (it's so sad it had to go)

Honorable mentions:

in conclsuion, Genos's style and looks is his way to express himself and the more we progress down the story the more we see him in some really good items, i feel like it's not about a change of style completely but the existence of two styles, one more plain and simple for everyday wear and another for when he wanna make an entrence and is feeling pretty confident and good about himself, bless ma boi.

Side notes:

Neo Heroes saga:

this is so funny, i bet he does it on a daily basis at this rate lol (the only thing that doesn't change is his face, but you can't change perfect 🥺 my Boi is, soft features and demon eyes 👌 so endearing) .

There's nothing much to say here, he's shirtless, he's going for that apparently (again very confident), the armory is simple enough, except for the chest, i like that sobre darker look, reminds me of drive knight and i love that guy's design.

in fact, i have a feeling Genos machinery is gonna look simpler in the future but also more efficient, i wanna see the strongest cyborg Genos design, i imagine it'd be the most simple but solid and unbeatable.

unpopular opinion i'd appreciate more parted hair/pulled back:

it'd be cool if i found an analysis on Amai sweet Mask or Sonic's style, these are the stylish trio in my heart. if it had already been done i'd love to read it, although doing it myself would take years since this took a week and i'm not ready to do it again anytime soon lol XD

Finished first draft designs of the hazbin cast- Alastor., Charlie, Angeldust, Nifty , and Vaggie.

Some of them got minor redesigns while others got revamped, so I’ll be going down the line and discussing my reasoning for each one (please note, these are not perfect, and probably are not animator friendly, I did this for fun, and a lot of the decisions I made were because I felt like it. Do not throw a fit if you don’t like them)

Alastor- when redesigning alastor I focused on 3 major details: that he was from the 1920s-1930s, he was from the south, and that he was a “radio demon”. I took away the voodoo stuff cause that felt like a really weird way to associate him with Louisiana culture, and instead went for the more “southern gentleman” feel using the slicked back hair and simple clothes. I also replaced his monocle with a full pair of glasses, because I think not being able to see his eyes makes him more menacing, same thing with the straight teeth. I made his color palette into warm browns to kind of give the vibe of an old timey radio- with a highlight of gold as well. Side note: I like to imagine he doesn’t open his mouth, and instead it just lights up like an actual radio- cause I think that’s cool character flavor. I also kept his deer motif cause ,apparently, it was supposed to connect with how he died- plus I’m always a sucker for the kind of evil character that has an innocent animal theme, super fun. (Also his microphone is sentient and does change the text depending on the situation)

Charlie Morningstar- I think Charlie is a lovely character, she’s one of favorites, but she felt pretty plain in some aspects. I learned that she was kind of inspired by porcelain dolls, which gave me an interesting idea of making into kind of a “devils Pinocchio”- because what’s more innocent than a doll imbued with the power of her father’s dreams? So I really leaned into the soft friendly doll look, giving her ball joints and large eyes that stare into your soul. I softened a lot of her colors and gave her rounder shapes as well as leaning into the goat aspects of her character, because i thought it could be fun to have her play off the deer motif that alastor has.

Angel Dust- My boy , my good lad. He is also pretty solid when it comes to design , however- HE DID NOT LOOK LIKE A SPIDER. I had no idea that his freckles were supposed to be eyes until I rewatched it. Soooo I definitely tried to make him more spider like by making his eyes more prominent and giving him pointy side burns that act as mandibles. I also gave him him his spider butt and some weird ass legs. Oh and , unrelated, I like to imagine he does burlesque.

Nifty- MY FAVORITEE , I love nifty guys, she’s my POOKIE bear. When going into her design I knew I wanted to make her look older since I thought it was weird how much she was infantilized so I gave her lipstick and pearl earrings to make her look more like a refine 1950s housewife, as well as give her an apron and cleaning gloves to make her feel more like a maid. I also leaned into her subtle bug theme by giving her antennae, and giving polka dots on her dress for a very subtle lady bug theme (cause she’s my little lady). Some more small things I gave her a little swirl in her bangs to call back to victory rolls, as well as some subtle hints of green to call back to the uranium craze of that time.

Vaggie- she was difficult. Initially, I had no idea what I wanted to do with her, but I think that’s also because she’s not a very fleshed out character? Her whole story is kind of , Support Charlie and be a fallen angel.(still love chaggie tho) So I took some creative liberties, and gave her a more mature look- with some periwinkle to act as a subtle hint to her angelic nature. I also gave her the monocle from alastor design cause I thought it made more sense for her? Like, if anyone is gonna have the one eyed visual aid it’s gonna be the bitch with one eye. It also makes her look more matured? And I gave her a moth broach to call back to her moth inspo.

Annnd that’s it! I’ll be working on the next batch soon, which will likely have husk and sir pentious, if you have any other people you wanna see lmk!

Time for a lil review/thoughts post

I m not gonna review every single mechanic in the game, simply things that stood out to me or that i wanna talk about. I also wont add more images, i kinda want ppl to see the world for themselves... i ll share more when the game comes out tho.

There s a lot of text under this. Tldr, i like the game i think it's a solid, enjoyable experience with a good gameplay loop, the story isn't for me, and i'll keep playin of course. And u should try it too if ur device wont blow itself up tryin to run it.

Dress up

The bread and butter of Nikki games... it's good as usual. Game doesn't shy away from long skirts or coat tails or complicated ballgowns just cuz nikki can run and jump and dash now and i'm very happy bout that. There's some clipping issues once in a while, but it's nothing major and the clothes we do have in the game are lovely. There s an evolution system for some of the sets, which makes em a diff color.... usually they can evolve once, but i saw Three extra evolutions for one of the UR sets and that scares me. Bcs to evolve them u have to craft the suit again. So u have to pull 4 copies of a suit to max it out..

Combat

Game's definitely succeeding in its quest for being cozy. There's no real stakes, combat isn't difficult in the slightest but i do welcome it- super simple but it's pretty fun regardless. The boss fights were surprisingly creative and fun for what they are, it's just unfortunate that you have to do them more than once or twice (crafting mats)- but they do change what the boss does so it's different depending on what mat u are farming for... and u can claim double or triple or however much stamina u got-le of the mat after u complete it once. So that s rly nice.

Exploration

I actually think it's really really good. Again this isn't a difficult or complicated game, not yet i guess... but with the major goal being "get new clothes" and "take pretty pictures maybe", the open world feels actively engaging to participate in. There's collectibles everywhere, little challenges you can do that are diverse but quick, styling battles, collecting everythin from animals fur to bugs to fish, and allll of this brings u closer to that never ending goal of woo more clothes.

However even if a challenge doesnt give you a blueprint, it's still just. Really Nice to exist in this world. It's very whimsical, as expected of Lilith, and the world has a combination of realism and cartoon artstyle that is just soso appealing to me. It's genuinely how i would've imagined miraland to look in 3d. Shame it's not the same miraland we know..

Story

Hmm... silly is one word i could use for it. Cute also. The story isn't doin anythin bad per se, and i did start skippin dialogue near the end w the pieceys because i want to keep at least Some part of the story for the game's release... but i get the gist of it, and it s just not my thing.

It feels like a story made for children, and it definitely would get a G rating. Easy and simple to follow, there's moments of tension or sadness sure but with the antagonist bein a literal babie lookin cutey fairy with a grown man's voice, or the creatures that i'm interacting with are a bunch of. Fuckin weird lookin big eyed balls of fabric that look closer to plushies than somethin Alive... it's all so silly and dramatic sometimes i can t help but cringe.

Part of it is a me problem, if u just open ur heart and free urself from the cringe the story is fine. It's just a little too kiddy for me and i so desperately hope it won't stay like this forever. My prayers might be answered though, there's a whole war beyond the borders and we have refugees around... shit's lookin bad for Umbrosa.

Other things i noticed that i liked:

The effect on nikki's skin when it's raining, she actually has water dripping down her face... its so cool

Momo capes are actually kinda neat ngl. Especially cuz the fucker follows u around everywhere, at least i can bedazzle him

Npc models look really good im a fan. They do suffer from "everyone is very beautiful" syndrome, which makes some of the npc villains look/sound ridiculous, but they have kid-teen-adult-elderly versions of models (i never see teen models in these games! Its cool!) And some body variation. The grandmas look so lovely i cry

The dark skin tone is really dark, and it looks quite nice and natural.

The lighting engine in this game is just rly good in general. God bless UE5

The edges of the map where there s forest, which u obv cant go thru, the forest is made to be darker, thicker.... i m a huge fan of this idk y. It's not just *invisible wall in front of an open field* nopee cant go there lets explore that area later tee hee. And it looks good to boot.

Camera function is p robust, has more options for changin brightness/saturation/contrast etc which i feel Shining Nikki lacks.

Some of the creature designs are so good man i looove themm <3.... the pieces are awful tho. Ok creature design is a hit and miss sometimes but the stray hatty? Peak. All the weirdy fashionable animals? Peak.

Bein able to quick switch thru ur saved sets while in the overworld is real neat

gonna copy and paste what I said to my friend sara when she asked for suggestions:

you can either start with the manga or start with the games. the games are generally short, light on plot (but they still have solid characterization imo), and really fun. BUT they're almost all bullet hell games so that's definitely gotta be your Thing

most of the games have a difficulty selection and you can just play on easy if you want. it's fine. some of the really old ones won't let you play the final stage on easy but those ones are largely overrated anyway

if you want a starter game I'd recommend

TH7, Perfect Cherry Blossom: first of the touhou games to really have, like, characters and ideas in a way that matters. pretty simple, very Iconic. it's a little flat in my opinion tho

TH10, Mountain of Faith: this is where the games really hit their stride, and it's the start of like. one of the two multi-game arcs in the series. it's not too difficult, it has some fan favorite characters, and I like the music a lot

TH14, Double Dealing Character: my personal favorite. it's tricky to get used to, especially because there's a gimmick that works best once you've played the game several times and are starting to memorize the stage layouts through repetition. that said it has My Blorbos in it and I think it has some of the best patterns and characters in the series

TH17, Wily Beast and Weakest Creature: it's for furries and it's one of the easiest games in the series. it's basically the start of the second multi-game arc

IF you end up not liking how the games play but you want to read the story & dialog, that's all available on https://en.touhouwiki.net/ The wiki's original writing isn't always the most reliable, but it has the official character profiles & all paths from all main games (plus some fangames?) fully translated into english, so that's always reliable. it also has text from some of the written works.

as for manga: forbidden scrollery and wild and horned hermit are typically the recommended entry points, and I'm inclined to agree.
