The winter air bit at your skin as you stood outside on the palace steps. Even though you were wrapped up in a winter dress, robe and gloves the cold air still managed to get in. Snow covered the land adding a clean white blanket over everything. Spider's webs were turned into beautiful jewels with gems of ice.

Your breath curled in front of your eyes when you released a sigh. The Prince had asked you to come with him for a date. So, you were stood in the snow waiting for him. You rather liked the Prince, but there was just something holding you back and you weren't sure what. You wanted to love him like he clearly loved you, but it was hard to ignore the rumours about him being a bit of a tyrant.

You flinched and snapped out of your thoughts when you heard your name called. Your eyes flicked to the path. Your heart skipped a beat when Prince Levi in black clothes and a cloak with fur around the neck rode over to you on his black horse.

Levi pulled on the reins of his horse to bring him to a stop. His black leather gloves groaned at his actions. He twisted his muscular body and jumped off his horse. The cloak around him bloomed around him as he turned to face you.

Levi walked towards you, his long boots gripping his legs. He paused before you. The snow crunched under Levi's knee when he knelt before you. His warm, soft leather gloved hand lightly took yours. His warm loving lips pressed against your hand making you flush.

The dazzling grey-blue eyes of Levi flicked up and locked with yours. A sweet smile spread across his lips. "You look enchanting today."

You hummed a little as you felt flustered. "Thank you. May I say you are looking rather dashing today."

He rose to his feet and smiled. "Getting one up on me, huh?"

"Mm."

He scooped you up into his arms making you squeal. "You will be riding with me."

"R-Really? Would it not be better for me to have my own horse?"

Levi sat you at the front of his saddle. "Riding in the snow can be tricky." He climbed up behind you and pressed his chest firmly against your back. "This will allow me to ensure your safety." He snaked one arm around you to hold you in place. "This also allows me to keep you close and warm."

You leaned against Levi's chest and felt yourself relax. "You are rather warm."

He leaned closer and whispered against your ear. "I will happily keep you warm whenever you desire it."

With a quick tap of his heels, the two of you raced off into the woods that the royal family owned. Riding through the snow was exciting and nerve-wracking all in one. So, you firmly gripped Levi as best as you could to ensure you didn't fall. Levi had a tight grip on you, so you were never going to fall.

Levi was on cloud nine because he was able to embrace you for this long. His adoration for you was almost on a crazy level. He was besotted by you. His engagement to you was fuelled by strong true feelings. He wanted to grow old with you and raise a few adorable little children. He loved you endlessly and hoped that he could possess your heart and love.

You turned your head to look at Levi as the nerves and worry took over. "Levi."

Elation consumed Levi because he had longed for you to use his name instead of your highness. He slowed his horse and gave you a reassuring smile. "I am right here. I'll protect you."

You smiled sweetly at him. "Thank you."

He pulled on the reins again and came to a stop. "This is perfect." He slipped off the horse first before lifting you up and placing you on your feet. "Are you ready to go hunting?"

"Y-Yes, but I don't know how to use a gun."

He grabbed the rifle from his horse. "I'll show you." He put his arm around you and tugged you close. "Careful as you go. Lean on me."

You hugged Levi's side as you let him guide you through the thick snow. "I find this weather rather beautiful."

"As do I." He chuckled. "Allows me to get close to you for warmth."

Your cheeks burned as your heart raced. "I too enjoy that."

Levi's eyes widened as his heart skipped a beat and his cheeks heated up. His blush was adorable. "Now, that makes me very happy to hear."

You lowered your head. "You are doing that thing again."

"And what might that be?"

You glanced up at him. "Staring at me."

"I can't help but look at such a divine being."

You whined a little. "My heart cannot take the kind and sweet words."

He stood behind you and whispered in your ear. "The more I do it the more you will be used to it. I cannot help myself with you."

"You are a tyrant of a prince."

He shifted and placed the rifle in your hands. "Indeed I am."

You gripped the long gun and gulped hard. "Must I kill a deer? I worry I will fail in killing it."

"You will. I will guide you. We will feast on it tonight. I know my staff will be elated at hearing their princess-to-be provided food for them." He gripped your hips and shifted you slightly. "Correct your stance. You must ground yourself."

You shifted a little in the snow. "Like this?"

"Correct." He lifted the gun a little. "Firmly place the butt of the gun against your shoulder, if you do not and it kicks back you'll hurt yourself." He dragged his hands up your body to your waist before firmly squeezing. "I would not know what to do with myself if you got hurt under my watch."

"I will be careful."

"Good girl."

You shivered at the words of praise. "Mm."

Levi made a mental note to use those two words often. "Tilt your head a little and close one eye. Look down the sight. Do you see the deer ahead?"

"I do."

He placed his hand on yours over the trigger. "There are multiple places you can shoot, the heart, the neck or a key artery. You could attempt the head for a quick kill." He pressed his body against yours and whispered. "We shall go for the head. When I say, slowly squeeze the trigger. Do not yank or press hard. It must be a slow squeeze. Breathe in and hold your breath to steady your aim, then release your breath when you fire."

You rolled your shoulders. "There's a lot to it."

"There is, but you'll be a natural in no time. Now, no tensing up." He kissed the side of your head. "You're doing so well. Good girl. Are you ready?"

"Yes."

Levi placed his hands on yours. "Together then. If the deer walks, lead with the gun, do not follow. Now, breathe in." He hummed. "That's it, good girl." He whispered gently. "Now."

The gun went off with a bang and kicked back a little, but thankfully Levi was grounding you in place. Your eyes instantly shut tightly at the bang and light. You yanked the gun up and turned in Levi's arms as your ears rang. The strong warm arms of the prince wrapped firmly around you to comfort you.

Levi took the gun when you turned and tossed it down into the snow. He gazed at the deer and saw you had killed it with one shot to the head. "Good girl. You did it. You got the head. I'm very impressed."

You looked up at him with your adorable wide puppy eyes. "Really?"

He chuckled a little. "Really. I'm proud of you. So proud that I would love to kiss you, but I know you are still cautious with me."

You gulped hard and gripped his lapels. "Perhaps I would like to try this kissing. I-If you wish to."

Levi's lips crashed against yours before you could utter another word. Though the air around you was freezing cold, what was between you was blazing hot. The staff sang your praise when you presented them with the deer. It flustered you to hear so many people say wonderful things. Since moving to the palace weeks ago at the start of your engagement, you had been treated with so much kindness and respect. The staff were quick to help you and befriend you. It was nice.

Levi guided you into his home and to a nice warm room. You were nervous once again when you both began removing your outdoor winter things until you were just in your indoor attire. You carefully adjusted your dress in hopes Levi would praise you.

Levi glanced over at you in your form-fitting dress. "My word, you are a feast for the eyes. You are so beautiful."

"Th-thank you." You hummed as he walked closer. "I like your black princely suit."

The royal tournament used to be something Levi hated, but then you joined his guards. Now, Levi looked forward to the event. You loved competing in his name and crushing all the competition. The love you had for it was clear to Levi when you battled, which was one of the reasons why he enjoyed it so much now.

This year it was a summer event and all the royals and families of high standing put a guard, knight or a few soldiers forward for battle. Others always put in a few, but Levi only ever put just you in. He made sure your armour was perfect for you and you were comfortable within it.

You were a marvel to behold in your comfortable armour. You never wore overly heavy things, just the right amount that allowed you to be flexible, move fast and allow your muscles to breathe. You were rather proud of your outfit and it was the second event you had gone to. A lot had changed since the last one, now you were romantically involved with the Prince and he was making steps for love to be allowed so you could marry.

You pouted a moment as you adjusted your large sword in its scabbard. You looked around for the Prince, but couldn't see him. You felt a little deflated that the man who had stolen your heart was not here. For so long you swore you would dedicate your life to being a guard of the royals and fighting bad people and monsters. The concept of love was just not something you considered, but here you were searching for the man you loved.

"Knowing you are looking for me makes my heart flutter."

You looked down at Levi in his royal suit. A blush spread on his cheeks at seeing all his medals. It was a white suit with many gold buttons and a white cape on one side and red on the other. His hair was tamed back showing off his handsome face. A sword was in a scabbard on his hip.

You bowed your head to him. "Your highness."

"No need to bow." He offered his gloved hand to his butler. "I have something for you." He took something from the butler and showed it to you. "I hope you like it."

You gasped at seeing the grand dark green cape with Levi's royal arms on. "It's incredible, your highness. Is it really for me?"

"Yes."

You clenched your fists as you fought your emotions. "Thank you. I will wear it with pride."

He pulled away when you reached for it. "No, no. I insist on putting it on you." He walked behind you and connected it to your shoulders. "There, perfect." He walked around to face you. "It won't slow you down or get in your way, will it?"

You shook your head. "N-no. I can fight with it." You puffed your chest out. "I can fight better with it! It'll fuel me!"

He touched your armour at the front before leaning up and kissing the corner of your mouth. "May that fuel you better."

You shivered. "Yes, your highness!"

He smiled fondly as you ran towards the tournament grounds. He climbed up to his seat allowing him to look down at the grounds. He sat in his cushioned seat and felt himself smile as soon as he saw you standing with pride. Yet again, you were the only woman out there fighting.

The event started as normal, and the Emperor of the land announced the reason for it. Jokes were made about you as well, but it was clear that this was not getting to you and you were just excited to fight. There was a burning fire within you to fight with everything you had.

The first round king of the hill. It was one-on-one fighting and whoever won would remain in the arena and keep fighting until they were knocked out, or they won. It was an exciting battle and really got the crowd going.

Levi felt a burning pleasure and desire run through him as soon as you walked with grace into the area. You held your head high and readied yourself. For someone so strong and tall, you moved with grace and poise. Your movements were like a dance. Your body would twist beautifully and then you would use such powerful strength that came from raw rage.

Levi was on the edge of his seat as he watched you cut down every single man you faced off against. Your last opponent was the Emperor's who was known to have a massive ego. It was clear that he was trying to get into your head by talking to you, but it only made you want to kick his ass more.

The battler didn't take very long. You went right into attack mode and knocked him back with a slash after slash. Levi's heart skipped a beat when you sliced so hard that you cut his sword in half. He stood up when you got in your opponent's face, pulled back and twisted so beautifully with your cape and kicked him hard.

The area was quiet for a moment, but then all eyes were on Levi as he jumped up and cheered with pride. As soon as Levi cheered for you, so did his staff with him and your guard friends who were protecting him. It made your heart flutter and tears fill your eyes when you saw how much love there was for you.

The victories didn't stop there. You dominated the tournament and won almost everything for Levi. The ones you didn't win were the ones you weren't taking part in. The horse racing was nailing biting close between you and a rather lovely knight who was always kind to you.

At the end of the tournament, you were ready to gain your award but the Emperor did you dirty. You were disqualified for breaking his knight's sword. You accepted it, but it was clear Levi and his people were furious. So, you had to honour them.

You strolled over to where Levi was sitting. You could see the hurt and anger in all their eyes. You smiled at Levi and placed your hand on your heart. You dropped to one knee and bowed before him. You rose up and inhaled deeply before speaking.

"Prince Levi! It was a great honour to fight and win this tournament for you! Long may you rein!"

Levi's cheeks burned at your speech. You had said you'd won, even though the emperor said you hadn't. Levi hated the Emperor of this rival land, so it made him happy you were standing up to him. Plus, declaring long may you rein about Levi was a bigger blade to dig into the Emperor's ego.

Levi ran down to the fence and leapt over it. He raced over to you and yanked you to your feet. He gazed up and smiled. "You are so beautiful." He pulled you down and kissed you with all the love in his heart. "I love you."

You whined a little at everyone seeing that you and Levi had been in a secret relationship. You were worried, but you knew you were strong enough to protect the two of you from others. You held Levi's hands in yours and smiled sweetly at him.

You leaned closer to him. "I love you too, Levi."

He kissed you and hummed a laugh. "Using my name and no title in public, huh?"

"I will accept any punishment."

He pulled you along to his staff and the guards. "Let us return home. We have to celebrate your victory." He paused a moment. "We are all proud of you."

He absolutely has the potential to beat the entire league and become the Champion- but she doesn't want to, because he wants to stay right by Levi's side and assist her with Gym Leader stuff.

GYM LEADER LEVIATHAN

Leviathan is a fairly strong Gym Leader (gym 6/8) and she puts up a pretty good fight, since she knows a lot about battling and puts a lot of effort into his battle strategies! Buuuuuut. She's an EXTREMELY sore loser. If a challenger beats him, he always throws a major fit about it and refuses to give them the badge. Sometimes if he's REALLY bitter about the loss, she even decides to, um. Call in her husband.

Right! Whenever Levi loses a battle particularly badly, she always goes straight to Lazarus whining about it, brings him over, and pulls out the "OKAY, well! If you can beat her, then I'll give you the stupid badge!", because she knows his husband is really tough and no one has ever been able to beat her yet. It's not playing fair but he doesn't care about that 🎉

Lazarus goes along with it and does as she says of course because she loves her wife but regardless of the battle's outcome, he always manages to talk Levi into giving the poor trainer the badge anyway. She just has to hold her and reassure him a bunch afterwards w

"Grandfather, who is that standing next to you in this photo?" his grandchildren ask. He squints at the photograph, "That's Y/n." he says fondly. There are tears welling in his eyes.

░ 🧣 MIKASA

Visits your grave and sits there to daydream of days gone by. It sounds morbid, but for Mika it's therapeutic. She wonders what she could have done to have saved you, even though deep down she knows that fate would have taken you from her either way.

░ 🌹LEVI

He wakes from dreams of you, sometimes nightmares, and lays in bed remembering the simpler times of youth. Sometimes his dreams feel so surreal that he wonders if it really was you.
