Hi!!! I would love to share them!!!

It is relatively immediately obvious upon looking at my blog that I definitely see Dream as being Very Autistic. This is for... a variety of reasons which I can explain if u want!! Hob is a little less obvious, but I think talking for hours (?) about the minutae of experience all of the joy it brings is a very ADHD thing to do. ADHD brains essentially work on hyperdrive, meaning that every emotion is going to be experienced with greater speed and intensity than if a neurotypical person were experiencing, which would explain the genuine exhilaration in Hob at seemingly simple things. He tends to hop around subjects when we see him in a variety of contexts, with so much more happening in his head than he speaks aloud in a way that confuses people. This is also a very ADHD experience.

This exists in a balanced opposite to Dream, who seems relatively dulled to emotion and sensory input, experience a hypo- to Hob's hyper-, so to speak. You would think it would create a point of contention for them, but it doesn't because each genuinely want to know what the other knows. Dream wants to know what it's like to look at everything with wonder, and Hob is frankly excited to share that with someone who actually wants to hear all about it. Hob, in turn, has a better clue of what goes on with Dream when he may breach social etiquette because of his own unrealized neurodivergence and is perfectly happy to breeze over as a result. This mutual understanding they have reached is a common one between people with ADHD and ASD, allowing them to bridge the gap in details that would otherwise cause issues to form a more solid bond. Hence, instead of fighting they make out.

Then we have the Evil and fucked up QPR dynamic:

And of course, trying to get along for Charlie’s sake and eventually bonding over their shared love of dad jokes and musical theatre, both being violinists (yup, Alastor plays violin too, check the wiki) with niche hobbies/interests (ducks, furby organ) and accidentally winding up in a loving, healthy QPR.

There’s something about an aroace and a sex worker who very rarely falls in love.

Angel would know that Alastor isn’t with him for sex, would know that he values Angel beyond his body.

With greyro Alastor, Angel and Alastor would both be inexperienced with romance, but in wildly different ways. Angel has never had a healthy romantic relationship and therefor tries not to fall in love. Greyro Alastor has probably experienced romantic attraction like less than three times in his 100+ years of existence.

And if Alastor never gains romantic attraction for Angel, that’s a whole other level to the dynamic.

It’s got some great angst potential with Angel wondering if he’s not good enough to love romantically or Alastor feeling guilty or confused as to Why It Hasn’t Happened Yet when he cares for Angel so deeply, and eventually it gets resolved with the two of them accepting that their attractions don’t have to match up for them to love/appreciate/care for each other and they smash the amatonormative relationship hierarchy as queer platonic partners.

Or, Angel’s just totally cool with it from the start because he’s spent decades in the kink scene and has potentially been exposed to more relationship anarchy than Alastor.

Kink and queerness have a great deal of historical and cultural overlap, and that includes aroace queerness. Because Angel’s had way more canon exposure to both, it’s possible he knows more about Alastor’s orientation than Alastor does, and I love the idea of Angel introducing him to terms or just being super chill about not labeling things.

Drawing like 90% from pilot dynamic and headcanon on this. They’re just two old men. They get drunk and cuddle. Alastor is one of the few people who knows Husk can purr and takes advantage of this fact. Alastor considers Husk a friend in a fucked up, possessive way. Husk considers Alastor a pain in the ass, but does care about him on some level.

And the versions where the author puts them through fanfic couple’s therapy and actually gets them into a healthy point in their relationship? One where Alastor no longer owns Husk’s Soul? *chef’s kiss*

For me, personally, this is an exclusively nonsexual, non-romantic ship. They’re besties; they’re QPPs. They’re married for the tax benefits and so that they cannot be forced to testify against each other in court.

Ok, so this is entirely based on non-canon-compliant Lilith. Or, I guess, non-series-compliant Lilith. More of the old WOG stuff from the pilot era, with a healthy dose of headcanon for flavor.

I love the idea of Lilith and Lucifer having an open marriage; I love the UH3 style polycule dynamic.

Lilith being the original seductress and Alastor being aesthetically but not sexually or romantically attracted to her is very near and dear to my heart.

I’m an aroace with a voice kink who is aesthetically attracted to Lilith and I think Alastor is an aroace with a voice kink who would be aesthetically attracted to Lilith, ok?

I’m gonna be real with you, 90% of my interest in RadioStatic is in the one-sided version where Vox is a pathetic little incel simp and Alastor is either oblivious, mildly annoyed, or finds the whole thing hilarious.

Whenever there’s any reciprocation on Alastor’s part, I always imagine it being in a very aroace, very Alastor-esque way. He needs to be get something out of it completely unrelated to sex/romance. And he needs to be manipulative and sadistic in the process.

Whether that something is kink-related, a business transaction, or simply the quality entertainment provided by Vox being a cringefail TV-headed little bitch, I love to see it.

this one starts off as human!alastor/lucifer but by the middle(?) its just regular radioapple. basically al is encountered by luci while finishing off a job who agrees to keep quiet. luci just keeps on showing up, reveals hes the devil to which al us just like "lol ok" and eventually they get in a relationship (ooh lala 👀) but they break up after saying some hurtful things to each other (oh nono 👀) with luci promising al they will never cross paths again. if you watched the show then well. you know that doesnt happen 😂 most human!al radioapple have al summon him (no hate to them) so this was an interesting change of pace

while I'm not sure if Eastern dragons display hording/possessive tendencies like there western counterparts. But I wanna think Mei due to her dragon instincts gets somewhat possessive over things and people she highly values. From objects like her bikes, and stuffed animal collection to living people like her parents, pigsy and tang who may of been like second parents to her at this point and of course her best friend for eternity MK.

So when red son joins there friend group shes happy at first when him and mk start getting on surprising well. But starts to grow jealous when redson starts cutting into her personal time with mk. Heck at times she feels like he's deliberately trying to hog mks attention.

As much as she loves red she feels the need to assert some boundaries, and remind him or even both of the boys who was here first.

Long Xiaojiao felt sometimes that there was a great big fat divide between her and Qi Xiaotian sometimes.

It wasn't a divide that couldn't be crossed. But it was there. Between her and Red dealing with the Samadhi fire and Xiaotian dealing with the whole "Harbinger of Chaos" stuff with Wukong, there was stuff that they couldn't share because the other wouldn't understand. It sucked, but there was still things to talk about. Especially when Red started tagging along!

Red, like she thought, was a great friend when he finally relaxed a bit. He knew cool demon spots to hang out with and could rattle for hours about different topics. He was fascinating. Xiaojiao's favorite hangout was when he led her and Xiaotian to a secret demon fighting ring and they spent most of the day placing bets (with food) on fighters. Then someone got the bright idea to challenge her to a fight and Xiaojiao enjoyed watching Xiaotian's eyes darken with desire as she fought the guy barehanded.

Xiaotian was her best friend. Hers since the day they met at the park, playing in the mud. Red was also hers, although the desire to hoard him was much less due to the new nature of their friendship. They were happy, all three of them.

And then Red tried to make that divide wider.

At first, she didn't notice. She had been delighted when Red suddenly had a free night on Saturday night, an old tradition of hers and Xiaotian where they had a movie marathon. It was nice to have something that was just them even in the craziness of their lives now. She thought it would only be once.

Except "one free Saturday night" became "every Saturday night was free". It wasn't a problem, not at first.

Not until she looked over to realize that Red had wrapped an arm around Xiaotian to cuddle close and realization struck her like a fist on weird behavior she had noticed from Red. The ability to remember Xiaotian's favorites, the insistence on sitting next to him, oh my gods all the touching.

She loved Red, really. But she loved Xiaotian more.

Her breaking point came when they were at a bar, drinking in congrats for Xiaotian's webcomic finally being published. Of course, most people would be interested because it was the Monkie Kid writing it, but Xiaojiao knew his art style and storytelling would win.

Red leaned close, smiling at Xiaotian like pure sin. "So, Noodle Boy..." The nickname was sweet as sugar, no longer containing a disgusting note. "I had to notice some things about the love interest. They mentioned knowing how they kissed. Unfortunately, I don't think I've won something like that from you before..."

"Oh," Xiaojiao said before Xiaotian could answer. "It's because of this." She patted her lap and Xiaotian stood up, a sweet smile forming across his face. Red raised a brow and then his hair floomed into flames as Xiaotian straddled her, the motion easy.

"Hey," her best friend cooed.

"Hey," she cooed back, her fingers settling in their favorite spots before Xiaotian leaned down and kissed her.

For a few glorious moments, it was just him and her. She didn't need to steal him or lock him away. He gave himself to her, his best friend in the whole world, willingly.

Finally, though, air had the nasty need of being needed and Xiaojiao pulled away. Xiaotian instead settled his chin on her shoulder, sighing contently.

Red stared at them with wide eyes. Then his eyes narrowed.

It was a secret challenge. Xiaojiao answered it back.

(Xiaotian hid his smile in his best friend's shoulder. Hopefully, she and Red got the worst of the instinctual possessiveness out of their systems before his preparations were done.

He intended for them both to be his.)

WIBTA for ignoring my partners text messages after they told me they want to go on break over text?

About three months ago, at the end of December to be exact, a friend of my asked if I would like to be in a qpr relationship. They’re aromantic and have been wanting to try it out.

I figured fuck it - why not? We’ll just be silly ol’ partners, nothing to it… but then I started really enjoying it. The whole “being loved” thing got to me I guess.

The next couple of months were going great, at least from my point of view - I went over to their house a couple of times, we cuddled, we cooked, I thought everything was alright.

However, on our last qpr date they brought up how they have issues with relationships and commitment, saying how there might come a time they leave me because they have lower energy than me. I felt hurt of course but I played it cool, “no worries bro, thank you for being honest, know that I love you lots no matter what haha”

And I thought things got better again. Until yesterday.

They texted me that they don’t want to be in a qpr anymore. That they want to take a break because, from what they’ve gathered, we’re not compatible (I have more energy than them, talk more, text more) and they’re not used to this…

They promised they wouldn’t do a break up over text. Which is a promise they didn’t technically break since it’s not a breakup. Technically. But the way they phrased the texts and the fact that it happened Quite Literally 30 minutes before midnight… I tried to play it cool, “sure man, you need distance, I get it” but then they asked me if I feel hurt to which I admittedly answered passive aggressively with a “My feelings don’t matter rn” (edgy much? Maybe, but again - 30 minutes before midnight. Not the best time to have a well-rounded conversation on a tough subject in person, let alone over text)

So now it’s the next day. They texted me that they still love me, which I do believe them but at the same time I still feel hurt, betrayed, kinda fucked up. I can’t imagine how they feel and I really want to just sweep all of this under the rug with a “don’t even worry about it man we’re still cool no matter what” but I don’t think ignoring how what they did made me feel is a good idea.

(I guess what makes the situation worse is that we’re both part of a very tightly knit group of friends, 4 of us in total, and I don’t wanna bring all this emotional garbage on any of the other 2 of us)

So, would I be an ass for ignoring my partners texts for the following week? And if so… what do I even do?

Let's start out with a couple of what I would consider fundamental pairings. In most any configuration of the group you can think of, most if not all of these are gonna be necessary for me to really get invested.

Fabriz. Duh. Need I say more.

Fabadaine. It's my fucking roman empire and I WILL go on about it for another thousand words if you ask

Figadaine. Support women's wrongs! Going shopping! My girlfriend is a rockstar and we make out backstage! My girlfriend is the elven oracle and we make out twice because she has a vision of it happening first!

I've also got some pairings that are nice on their own, but that I don't find like, mandatory if you're gonna sell me on something.

GorgugxFig. She's so loudly angry to hide her fear; he's so quietly scared of his own anger. She made him join her band and he's probably the better musician. They're so nice to each other.

FigxKristen. Fall into temptation. Make out with the devil on your shoulder. She helps you kill your god. She becomes your devoted paladin. The ArchDevil of Rebellion pulls you into a cosmic war against the very divinity you were the Chosen One for.

Now as for larger groupings, things get pretty fun. There are so many to choose from. Like for example:

The Bad Boys. Like as a throuple. Think about it. You're the cool son of a famous pirate; you're already kicking ass at bloodrush; youre hot shit. A metalhead and a briefcase kid latch onto you like barnacles. This is so embarassing. Cut to a month later and you're all on a rooftop sharing a cigarette and looking at the stars. The briefcase kid kisses you, and metalhead is next in line. Briefcase kid is also your best friend, even without the insane new tension and the fact that he can dismantle your coolguy persona with seemingly no effort. He tastes like burnt coffee. Even ignoring how metalhead can crack skulls, but treats you with gentleness and even hesitation, like he's afraid you'll turn him down. As if. His bangs get in the way when he kisses you.

The Bad Girls as a throuple. This one feels almost too obvious for words. Three girls who are all trying so hard and failing to be normal, but from three different directions. Imagine one day seeing the uptight wizard girl with rich parents and girl who tried to convert you to fantasy mormonism on her first day both walk into school one day holding hands with that punk girl who's in a band and who has already turned like six other students gay just by being cool and pretty. Then at lunch, they're all sitting together, and the elf and the cleric both have the bard's lipstick on their lips and cheeks. The cleric looks at you. She winks. You go home confused.

Figaydadaine. Figayda I don't have to sell you on, but you can't tell me Ayda and Adaine aren't so fucking cute together it hurts. They make spells for each other! Adaine has the key to the Wizard's Synod! Adaine killed her dad with Ayda's spell. Come ON, this shit writes itself. Honestly Aydaine is so good by itself

There's also an extended world of qpr among the bad kids - Rizdaine would be a great example of this. I don't think of them as a Couple, but they are SO close and there's so much trust and intimacy there. That's a pair that cuddle while watching movies or doing mystery stuff.

qpr FigGug is another great possibility. Just take all the sweet support and kindness they already have and pry out the romance.

I think if you pitched me another pair/group I could find something interesting about it, but those are my off-the-dome thoughts. Thanks for asking!

Hi, kinda random, but I could really use some advice. I really wanna write a qpr but feel like I dunno much about it- uh- so yeah! Just wanting to ask how I should do it- like, how do I do it?? How do I represent this while being accurate and respectful?? I know the theory but like addhhbbkjt

...OK so this is gonna sound funny (or not) but... I've been toying with the idea of developing a story involving a fictional QPR as well recently and... I have no idea how to go about it either. Despite being in one!! I actually have trouble explaining what a QPR means to most people honestly TwT

But I'll do my best to give a few pointers from my experience:

Needless to say, kinda, but a QPR is NOT a romantic relationship. It may LOOK like it on paper but I guess the way I see it, there's a lot less... Grandiosity and possessiveness than with romance. It's a lot more chill, I guess I could say. It's not like "this person is my whole life and I would die without them" or something, it's more like "this person is pretty great to experience life with and it'd be pretty cool if this lasted as long as we both vibe."

A QPR is NOT inferior to a romantic relationship NOR is it superior to a friendship, in my opinion. I see no scale of value of the sort. Each of these things are their own thing is all.

Considering it's quite the particular situation, no two QPRs will be the same, I think. So you can at least rest easy considering there can be quite a lot of variety in this type of relationship.

What I mean by that is, not everybody who's in a QPR will be comfortable will the same things. For example my partner and I may give each other lip pecks (never any tongue), but it took us years to be comfortable with the idea, and it doesn't necessarily mean everybody in a QPR will be at ease with that. And conversely other people in a QPR may be comfortable with a level of intimacy we may not be comfortable with.

What that implies is, in my experience at least, a QPR means a LOT of communication. My partner and I constantly have heart-to-hearts about what works or what doesn't for us, and are both aware some things may change over time.

As an aromantic, I value being in a QPR deeply because it responds to some issues that I think a lot of fellow aromantics probably face: the first is needing human connection, like any person, but having to struggle with the fact that you'll always come second after your friends' romantic partners and kids (if they have any), and the fear of abandonment that comes with that; the second is wanting human contact and affection, like any person, but having to worry that if you seek affection from or give affection to a person, they'll catch romantic or sexual feelings for you and it'll turn ugly for you, kinda. Being in a QPR responds to both those needs while negating these fears. If I ever wrote a fictional QPR personally, I think that last point would be what I would wanna emphasize the most, in my own voice. Because it's so key.

Okay, if you were asked who are in Merlin BBC that you can see based on canon that are gay/bi/pan/demi, which characters are they? Why?

I’m just gonna note that I’m not attached to any sexuality headcanon because people are going to have different opinions and it seems daft to lose more than half the fan content (art, fics, etc) just because of a headcanon. I’ll read more or less anything, I play around with queer themes in my writing fairly regularly and multiship everyone in the show, sometimes with characters from other fandoms too, but these are the sexualities I’ve written most of for each character otherwise this would be way too long.

And I know I’m assigning modern understandings of sexuality to medieval characters, but it’s a show with dragons and magic, also capes, a French castle, and whatever the hell that chainmail was so I think I can be excused for my historical inaccuracy.

Merlin: either gay or bi with a a preference for men. I could never get myself to really like Freya in the show, she wasn’t bad and I didn’t hate her, I usually just forget about her because it was one episode so I didn’t have enough time to get attached. She deserved more screen time and I love what the fandom has done with her character, but I usually see her where Merlin’s shipped with someone else so I honestly forget their romance exists most of the time. Other than that, I usually see him shipped with knights or Arthur or if he’s shipped with another woman, it’s someone who didn’t get enough screen time to get attached, or a mergwenthur (is that their ship name?) poly relationship.

Arthur: bi and demi. He needs time to like someone, canonically only started wearing a shirt after he got married but he walked around his chambers naked when it was just Merlin/no sexual implications in a servant of two masters. I’ve done deep dive character analysis into that and what it says for their trust of one another if anyone’s interested. It goes into them being platonic but acting like a couple and why meant so much for me to see as a kid and also why I think that proves their relationship is more than words can fully encapsulate. Also he’s had crushes on men and women so bi just fits.

Gwen: bi with a preference for men, she and Morgana had chemistry and I ship them pre season 3 but after that, not so much. Also had crushes on Lancelot, Merlin and married Arthur. They’re an adorable couple, honestly I love them. I don’t really have much else to say.

Morgana: aroace lesbian. Just my favourite headcanon, I like that she never had a canon relationship but she definitely had chemistry with Gwen. They’re just sweet together. I don’t know, mostly just vibes and my desire for more aroace rep.

Lancelot: bi with a preference for women. Gwen and Merlin. Yeah, that’s pretty much all I have to say. I just love that he’s such a great guy, I don’t think there’s anything more to it than two crushes in canon and vibes. I’ve written him as unlabelled or queer a fair amount, it really just depends.

Leon: Romance and sex averse aroace. Again, I just want representation and think he’s cool. I’ve seen him shipped with others, but I tend to default to aroace Leon in my own works more than anything else. Occasionally I’ll give him a qpr but it just depends on what I’m writing.

Gwaine: aromatic pansexual, he likes flirting but I think the idea of a permanent long term relationship would be “the one to tie him down” and it never entirely fits right. I’ve seen him shipped with Percival, I love that but usually if I’m writing it, I’ll have them in a qpr. I think he definitely feels low levels of romantic attraction but not enough to want a romantic relationship with someone, he loves so much, just not in the traditional ways and writing aroallo Gwaine is always super fun.

Elyan: I headcanon Elyan as trans masc but I don’t think I’ve got any specific headcanons for his sexuality. I’ve probably written him straight slightly more than anything else, but it’s a close tie between writing him straight and bi. It never usually comes up, so maybe just unlabelled or queer. I don’t know, he’s just Elyan. That’s all really.

Percival: I know in canon he had a wife and kids, I write him as being gay more than anything else, but my main headcanon tends to be that he’s bi or pan. Purely based on vibes but if it’s not relevant to the plot, I won’t bother mentioning it.

Possibly Unpopular Blitzstone Opinion/Theory

In previous posts, it has been made quite clear on this account that Blitzen and Hearthstone as a queerplatonic relationship, are just really cool. But as I give this duo more and more thought, I find myself in increasingly deep gratitude that Rick Riordan did not disclose the nature of their relationship, especially that he did not specify it to be romantic.

In this context, writing the short story that hints at a romance between Hearthstone and his friend, Inge, may have been a clever move in order to clarify the non-explicit romantic boundary between Hearth and Blitz, instead of to clarify Hearthstone as heterosexual. By doing so, Riordan redefines their relationship as undefined.

This may all have been an accident, or a coincidence, and I will admit to my own bias when wanting to view Blitzstone in a more platonic lighting. Riordan has shown himself to be very explicit when it comes to LGBTQ+ representation (for example, he does not brush over Alex's past as a transgender teenager in a conservative home - he actively brings it up in the story), so there is no reason for him not to disclose the nature of Hearth and Blitzen's relationship as romantic or as a qpr. We can then assume that they are meant to be close friends only.

With all that context given, the reason for all this yapping and gratitude is that, in a society where a romantic relationship is made out to be the "end goal," and people obsess over their levels of attraction in order to market themselves as a fit partner, the mysterious nature of Blitzstone's very close partnership is refreshing. It is a little reminder, perhaps unintentionally, that we don't have "other halves of our souls" or "The One" out there waiting for us (that is my personal belief, at least), and that we aren't suddenly completed when we reach that woohoo-Instagram-worthy stage of connection.

In conclusion, this is not an insult to people in romantic relationships, nor people interested in them. The concept itself is great, but the decision to leave Blitzstone undefined leaves a whole new world of Something Else to discover for teenagers reading Magnus Chase, and it's just nice to expose them to that concept and to the community at such an important age.

Like I've said in the tags of one of my previous posts, just assume all of my Mikey's are some flavor of aroace unless stated otherwise. HEA Angelo specifically has never felt romantic or sexual attraction towards anyone before (aside from the occasional fictional character).

His feelings toward his eventual partner are tough for him to wrap his head around. He loves them, but he isn't sure what kind of love. What is romantic love even supposed to feel like? Is it really any different from platonic love? He loves his friends, and his family. He heard that romantic love makes you want to be with someone forever. He wants to be with his family forever. Is it just the label that makes it different? He's not sure. Maybe it doesn't matter.

No matter how much research he does or how many questions he asks Raphie and Lee, he just can't understand what makes romantic love so special. And what's so cool and epic about sex?? It seems pretty gross to him, honestly. He can just take care of himself, thank you very much. He'd rather not waste his time smashing bits with someone when he can be cooking or drawing or doing literally anything else.

He'd only really have sex with someone he really trusts and wants a more intimate connection with. And it wouldn't really be about him- he'd mostly just be focused on how the other person feels. Cuz he's just not that interested in the sex itself, just how close and connected it would make him feel to his partner.

But OH MAN is he invested in other people's romantic lives. He's the ultimate wingman- The best hypeman you could ever ask for. As much as he doesn't get romance, BOY does he live for romantic media. Books, movies, fanfics, actual people's lives- you name it. Romance is dumb but wow does it create some great plot (and also really bad plot but at that point it's just funny).

this one starts off as human!alastor/lucifer but by the middle(?) its just regular radioapple. basically al is encountered by luci while finishing off a job who agrees to keep quiet. luci just keeps on showing up, reveals hes the devil to which al us just like "lol ok" and eventually they get in a relationship (ooh lala 👀) but they break up after saying some hurtful things to each other (oh nono 👀) with luci promising al they will never cross paths again. if you watched the show then well. you know that doesnt happen 😂 most human!al radioapple have al summon him (no hate to them) so this was an interesting change of pace

I just finished Nine's series (I know I'm late :')) but damn that was some good stuff

I especially liked The Doctor Dances. The dancing of Rose and Nine made me so happy. I love them together they're the perfect example for a QPR. Since I'm aromantic myself it was so great to see them dance as friends. I'd love to dance with my friends too.

Y'know I was gonna say this tomorrow for the one year anniversary but I think I'm gonna say it today.

The QSMP was the very first community I've actually been apart of. Even if it was small, it still meant a lot to me. To find different CC's I've never would've found. To finding a community/fandom that makes great fanart, headcannons, ideas, fanfics, and so much more. Y'all are talented and passionate as fuck, never forget that.

This is more a thank you to the community, the CC's, and the admins for making qsmp worth watching. I've been watching qsmp since the beginning (Philza Main here) and I haven't stopped since. And I don't want to stop but if I have to or if/when qsmp does end, I won't forget any of this.
