Thought this was going to be one of the original Rebel MC jungle tunes from back in the mid-90s. I've got it digitally and it's a big-big tune, so finding a 12" of it for £7 had me a little erect to be honest.

Got it home, cleaned it off (about an inch of dust & grime on it) and drop it on the decks...

Yeah, wasn't what it should be. Well, it kinda' is but not the original jungle tune that it should have been, but a later 90's speed garage version of it and I'll be honest, I was a little disappointed.

I mean, I still like it and it's a quality find. Just wasn't what i wanted it to be...

Unpopular opinion: I think Ahsoka is at her best and most interesting in the first two seasons of TCW and has only gotten progressively less nuanced as the years have gone by.

Ahsoka in TCW intentionally has flaws. They're pointed out more than once, there's ENTIRE EPISODES dedicated to Ahsoka having to fix her mistakes or being punished for disobeying orders or having to learn how to be better after she messes up and hurts people. Ahsoka has to keep learning lessons from Tera Sinube, and Aayla, and Luminara, and Padme, and Yoda.

But by the time you hit around season 4, Ahsoka starts being PERFECT. She is suddenly FLAWLESS as far as the narrative seems to see it. Even if she's doing the wrong thing, you're supposed to recognize that she is doing it for the right reasons. She's constantly level-headed, wise, and often treated as though she's practically an adult Jedi by the other Jedi around her despite having been young to be a Padawan at all and with only 2 years of training tops. It's no wonder so many people were so ready to believe that the Jedi were ready to Knight her at the end of the Wrong Jedi arc, Ahsoka's being written as though she's suddenly 25 years old with a decade of training, similar to how we see Obi-Wan acting in TPM instead of the barely trained child she should still be.

And then you hit Rebels and she's literally making entrances BATHED IN LIGHT LIKE AN ANGEL, incapable of being beaten by anyone except Darth Vader himself, she's got lightsabers of PURE WHITE LIGHT, and the other two Jedi characters treat her like a Master. And then she dies, walks off into the shadows, and comes back swathed in white robes and with a white staff, haloed in light like a wise shaman of some kind.

At least Din manages to push back against her choices in The Mandalorian, it's probably the first time we've seen Ahsoka have an opinion that someone else disagreed with and that the narrative explicitly treats as WRONG, forcing her to reconsider and make a different decision.

But by The Book of Boba Fett, she's schooling Din now, back to being the wise shaman who knows everything and can do no wrong.

In Tales of the Jedi, Ahsoka is practically perfection incarnate: more skilled than any other Jedi, more compassionate and connected to the galaxy than anyone else, someone who tamed and rode on the back of an apex predator before she could walk.

I want Ahsoka to have FLAWS again, I want the narrative to let her be WRONG and reap the consequences of that, I want to see Ahsoka LEARN SOMETHING again, I want to see her GROW as a character for the first time in over a decade.

Btw why isn't one of the guards in the beginning follow mc until the wedding? Arthur has his own personal guards but mc is in the castle all alone until the wedding when they see few of the siblings. Do their parents just think mc is capable enough to take care of themselves even in this new hostile environment?

No, but the parents at present point can basically do nothing for MC. MC is to be guarded and escorted soley by the King's guards because the Venegard forces are under strict surveillance and control by the Crown - as are the parents. Even MC's siblings, as you'll see in the next update, have been banned from the High Council of Nobles and can attend formal events only if accompanied by their respective spouse.

August is non-binary, going by she/her and they/them pronouns by the time she is 18

Demi/Pansexual baby! When she falls, she falls HARD, but she never really experienced that until a very specific summer...

DOB: 20th October 1997!

She is a TWIN! Her sibling, Charlie Merrow Black is not an identical twin, but they do look incredibly similar!

She has beautiful copper red hair, the colour of autumn leaves (and perhaps a red fox's coat 0.0) with mismatch gold/green eyes.

Her favourite colours are deep reds and dark greens

She is very simple with her favourite flower, preferring roses because she loves the dark colours they come in! the smell is a big bonus for her too ヽ(✿ﾟ▽ﾟ)ノ

Her personality is best described as a cheeky fox once she lets her walls down, but the way most people perceive her when they first meet her is a little intimidating with her resting b** face and aloof attitude as she figures out what kind of person you are hahaha

August likes to flaunt the rules, she is very much that stereotypical rebel, but with a catch - she will break the school rules (ditching class, skipping school, contraband 0.0) but she will have one of the best marks in class. She certainly doesnt start fights, but she will end them. August is a touch of an enigma because you cant lump her into a stereotype because she falls into one and then in the same breath, breaks them.

As you can see from her lovely little picture, she has a very grunge/alternative look to herself. Even as she grows older, she keeps to this aesthetic though modifies it to be a bit more formal

She enjoys reading, listening to music, dancing, skateboarding and gymnastics!

Her core discipline in dancing is Contemporary, but is also knowledgeable in ballroom and modern pop! She enjoys more fluidity and gracefulness in dance, theres a sort of freedom in it ヾ(•ω•`)o

It was only another minute before the trees opened to the stretch of land where I kept my van, and when I sensed everything change around me, I cut my engine in the dark. The familiar roar quickly fell quiet, and I begged for the kind of miracle I didn’t believe in, but nothing else gave itself away until I left my bike and helmet under stars I didn’t stop to thank, and I stomped across the muddy ground. Trusting in instincts that had already failed me today left me cursing myself, but as tempted as I was to claw at a hundred new scratches across my scarred skin, there was no point in trying to convince myself to let the bad night go when I was suddenly sure I was about to learn that lesson from someone else. I rounded the bonnet of my van to find the door open, and my brain hurried to make me understand that my inability to track anyone’s arrival suggested that Alexei had come here without Cam. That meant something important to me, though I couldn’t say why, and I wasn’t quite dumb enough to try in the first place.
