The thoughts I’ve had today on my body, a positive list

When i twist my hips the skin creates a wrinkle and i saw that and thought of those old statues of Aphrodite (this one specifically) and how sad it is that something that wonderful, something mirrored in human art from centuries ago, mirrored in the divine, can be hated.

I have a spine and that’s amazing.(the thought was actually “I forgot how wonderful it is to have a spine” while looking at myself in a mirror which is so random. I’ve had a spine my whole life this isn’t a new development????)

Stretch marks are where the love I hold grew too fast for my skin and had to show through in spots because there was so much of it. Also they are so totally normal and it’s silly that people think they are ugly or just for pregnant people cause dude what.

I can’t see my collarbones and much and I love collarbones and now it’s just like a little secret but not really. You see them when I move a certain way. It’s a game of peek a boo with my bones

My elbows are less stabby. Better for hugs. Also why on earth do I have an extra elbow point but it’s cool and fun.

Not my body per se but who the fuck decided that “they look like they give nice hugs” is a backhanded compliment and rude because I refuse. Shut UP hugs have nothing to do with weight or whatever you’re trying to point out I’ve decided it means they have a nice smile and their eyes crinkle the right way. They look like they’d give you a hug and it would feel like home because they are a nice human. I feel like I could look like I give nice hugs when I smile.

Ankles are so interesting like my tendons have dissapeared a bit but also there’s that divot when I flex my ankle and how do you flex an ankle what is that even but they are so interesting

I like how the back of my ear feels where it meets my skull. It’s smooth.

Spines are so interesting why is there a line of indents down my back it feels so cool and makes me look like I have muscles or something but i don’t. I like my spine.

What is it with spines today?

Anyways what I’m trying to say is that I love my body it’s served me so well and it’s doing so good and I’m gonna keep fueling it;)

Listen I am a SUCKER for conditioned whumpees. Specifically the unconditioning that comes after rescue.

Whumpee being afraid of Caretaker.

Whumpee having to wear a collar and a muzzle because that’s how Whumper kept them.

Whumpee panicking when they mess up or drop something, waiting for Caretaker to get upset and beat them.

Whumpee who won’t eat unless Caretaker orders them to.

Whumpee who doesn’t know what to do if they’re not being dragged around on a chain.

Whumpee who’s afraid of windows and the outdoors because Whumper convinced them everyone and everything outside wanted to hurt them, and they were safer with Whumper.

And everything that comes with that.

Caretaker not knowing what to do and feeling worthless. (Bonus points if they even consider mercy killing Whumpee because maybe they’ll always be afraid of everything and there’s nothing they can do).

Caretaker thinking maybe they DID do something to hurt Whumpee.

Caretaker being upset every time they look at Whumpee because they still insist on wearing the collar and muzzle Whumper bought for them, and Caretaker never wants to see them like that.

But also the good things that come with it!

Caretaker getting a new collar and muzzle made, with padding and lots of extra space for Whumpee to wear while they recover.

Whumpee finally being able to do something without asking Caretaker first, and Caretaker being so proud of them.

Caretaker’s praise and excitement at this makes Whumpee feel proud, too.

I just. I love it so much.

I see a lot of people, even mental health advocates, talk about coming off meds because they don't want to be on them for a long time.

That is fine and I hope it works out for them but also I'd like to remind you that it's okay if you don't come off your meds.

you're not less for needing medication for your mental health even if it's long term.

there's nothing wrong with needing medication to feel better.

taking medication or not has no moral implication.

you are allowed to treat your mental illness with medication.

episode 8 fix it where izzy does get shot, but it doesnt kill him- its on the left side after all! a gunshot does more damage than a sword, so he has a longer healing time ahead, and with him still learning how to live missing a leg, they all agree that its best he doesn't sail away with them, that itd be better if he stayed on land while he recovers

conveniently, he just so happens to know two men who are looking to start an inn on land! he can stay with them, help them complete repairs (god knows neither of them knows what theyre doing themselves) he can whittle little souvenirs on his sick bed; he can help moderate their ideas ("theres no point picking drapes yet stede, we don't have a fucking window") he can heal in peace.

maybe he could try being someone else other than the great izzy hands, maybe he could make something new here. no captains, no first mates, just izzy and ed and stede
